The Myers-Briggs Personality Assessment
Everyday you learn more and more about yourself.. You might not know it, but you could really like
the sushi at the local place you always pass through after school but never get the curiosity of trying it.
As senior year comes half of us know where we want to do with the rest of their lives, but the other
half is still trying to find who they are. Taking personality tests can be important because they help us
learn more about ourselves whether or not they are accurate. While taking both the Big Five Project
and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator assessment, I learned a little more about myself then I had
expected.
The Big Five Project, in my opinion, was an understandable test. In the beginning, I was really curious
as to why I had to compare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was too complicated to understand. My results came in as two personalities, ESFJ and ENFJ.
According to 16 Personalities, ESFJ is known as the The Consul. In high school, they re the football
players, cheerleaders, student council members or in other words the popular crowd. Extraversion was
E, which I had gotten on the Big Five test and basically stating again that I am talkative. I like to talk a
lot but when it comes down to doing my school work, I am in full concentration mode. Sensing was S,
basically being organized and realistic. Sensors in contrary to Intuitors are more about a day to day
planner. At the end of the day they want to finish what has to be finished but if course being realistic.
Feeling was F, the idea of making decisions based on emotion. It s all about intuition. Judgment was J,
going with something and actually doing it. In previous group projects there has always been that one
person that changes everything up without telling the group, I dislike this people. If we brainstormed
something that we should stick with the plan rather than the flow. My second personality was ENFJ.
According to 16 Personalities, The Protagonist. People with the ENFJ are born to be leaders, they re
the politicians, coaches and teachers, reaching out and inspiring others to achieve and to do good in
the world. Three out of the four traits that are in ENFJ were in my first personality type, the remaining
one was Intuition. People with this trait tend to prefer speed but in depth information. I am exactly like

The Pros And Cons Of International Commercial Arbitration
Conclusion
The driving force of trade is one of the most powerful influences on human activity. Therefore since
the medieval time till this day; Commercial law has been constantly developing by adapting new
principles due the continuous growth in the commercial transactions; in order a to fit and match the
sellers and buyers needs in our modern societies. In addition the harmonization of the principles and
rules of commercial law governing international transactions has played a main role on positively
affecting the commercial transactions by encouraging sellers and buyer to carry on with international
business where the parties are located in different countries; which earlier was a risk to them due to
conflict of laws and different jurisdictions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In International Commercial Arbitration, The awards given by the arbitrators have direct effect that
can be enforced international in the member states to the New York Convention. After the award is
granted to one party, if the other party fails to perform his duty then the award can be taken to
litigation and it will be enforced by the courts.
Through the materials in this research, it can be concluded that ADR and precisely International
Commercial Arbitration can be more efficient than litigation and any means of ADR, as saves time,
coasts and preserves relationships between the parties. Furthermore shares the features of the other
ADR methods; such neutrality, confidentiality, and speed. But it has one more advantage over other
ADR methods, that by the end of the arbitral process the arbitrator will make an award which can be
internationally enforced under New York Convention 1958.
I believe that with the help Institutions and organizations specializing in these procedures ADR can be

The Awakening as an Allegory of Existentialism Essay
The Awakening as an Allegory of Existentialism
Kate Chopin s The Awakening as the title suggests is just that‹the story of a young woman s
awakening to life. Even though it is a work of fiction, the character of Edna undergoes such a radical
change one cannot ignore the psychological depth of the work. The story could almost be seen as a
case study. In order to analyze the work psychologically, it is important to decide which psychological
framework to use. I chose the critic Cynthia Wolff who uses a Freudian framework for analysis. Wolff
feels that Edna s problems are a result of oral conflicts, while I see the work as more of an allegory of
existentialism, and Edna s problems are a result of a lack of Being. ... Show more content on

Most people pass through this stage without any conflict, and this allows them to move on to the
formation of a more complex self.
Wolff believes that Edna s central problem once the hidden self begins to exert its inexorable power, is
that her libidinal appetite has been fixated at the oral level (Wolff 232), meaning that on some level
she has begun to move beyond the oral stage. The first evidence we have of this is when she kisses
Arobin. This is an act of fulfillment on the genital level. Edna has recognized her libidinal needs, but
this does not seem to give her the satisfaction she craves. This longing is not a desire for a particular
man, but the presence of the beloved (Wolff 233). She recognizes an emptiness within her and like
anyone else has a strong need to fill it.
Edna tries to satisfy this new sensation of emptiness, but she is not sure what it is that needs to be
satisfied. There is a void that has begun to open up in her life, and she tries several ways of filling it.
She attempts to go back to painting, she moves out of her house and even has an affair. Her painting is
still an attempt at internalizing the world around her: Edna s painting might offer her an excellent and
viable mode for coming to terms with the insistent demands of cosmic yearning. For one thing, it
utilizes in an effective way her habit of

Takeaways Analysis
On Sunday night, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 132 113 in Game 2 of
the 2017 NBA Finals, taking a commanding 2 0 series lead. Even though Cavaliers superstar LeBron
James notched his eighth NBA Finals triple double, tying him with Magic Johnson for the most in
NBA Finals history, it was not enough to overcome the offensive firepower of the Warriors.
Just like in Game 1, it was once again the Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry show.
Here are three takeaways from Game 2:
1. Kevin Durant is on his way to potentially being named Finals MVP
After his phenomenal Game 1 performance, many people wondered what Kevin Durant would do for
an encore performance in Game 2?
To answer that question, Durant did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite his stellar perimeter defense, the Warriors needed Thompson to find his shot again and give
them an extra offensive boost in Game 2.
Thompson did just that as he pitched in with 22 points and seven rebounds, plus knocked down 4 of 7
from three point range. Give Thompson credit though, he is an outstanding shooter and when you are
a shooter like him, you need to have a short memory.
A missed shot will not make or break you. Thompson was knocking down shots inside the arc, putting
the ball on the floor, and dialing it up from distance.
The Warriors will need him to continue to shoot the ball like he did on Sunday night, especially if they
want to win Game 3 on Tuesday night and take a commanding 3 0 series lead.
3. LeBron James is still the greatest player in the world but he cannot do it all
Once again in the NBA Finals, LeBron James gave us another special performance. As I mentioned
earlier, James posted his eighth NBA Finals triple double consisting of 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 11
assists, but it was not enough.
Early in the game, James was playing like a man possessed. He was controlling the tempo, attacking
the basket with force and tenacity, while also getting his teammates involved. He also threw down a
powerful dunk on Andre Iguodala, who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
However, James teammates could not reciprocate the favor and help him out. Just like in Game 1, J.R.
Smith, who

Hurricane Impact On Tropical And Subtropical Waters
A hurricane is referred to a storm that forms over tropical and subtropical waters. Hurricanes have the
power to destroy life and property. Hurricanes are referred to as Typhoons in the Western Pacific and
Cyclones in Southeast Asia. On average, the Hurricane Season begins on June 1 and ends on
November 30. A Hurricane s intensity is measured on the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. A
storm is classified as a hurricane when its wind speed goes above 74 mph (NOAA 2014). A hurricane
is classified on a 1 to 5 category, based on its maximum wind speed. The higher the category, the
greater the hurricane is potential for damage.
A hurricane forms over warm waters near the equator. A hurricane goes through four stages of
development from a disturbance to a hurricane. The first stage is known as Tropical Disturbance.
Tropical Disturbance is a weak storm over tropical waters, containing mild winds, clouds, and
precipitation. The second stage is known as a Tropical Depression. A Tropical Depression is formed
when a group of thunderstorms comes together to produce circular wind flow. A Tropical Depression
flows with maximum sustained winds below 39 mph (NASA 2015). The third stage in hurricane
formation is known as a Tropical Storm. A Tropical Storm forms when a tropical depression s cyclonic
circulation becomes more organized and produces winds up to 73 mph. The fourth and final step of
hurricane formation is the hurricane itself. A tropical storm becomes a hurricane as

How College Dating Has Changed My Life
College dating has changed a lot since my parents went to school. Courtship and chivalry are dead, or
extremely hard to find, and a majority of college students are involved in the hookup culture. A
hookup is a nonromantic encounter with a friend or acquaintance that involves an unspecified degree
of sexual interaction, (Carpenter and DeLamater 129). When I first started college, I had a very nice
relationship that lasted about 3 months. When we both decided to just be friends, it dawned on me that
I could sleep with whomever I wanted to. During my second semester in college, I more than doubled
the amount of guys I slept with in high school and I know why I did it. I let myself engage in hookup
culture because I wanted to rebel against my parents, have some sense of intimacy without
commitment, experience new things, and it was so much fun to brag about with my girlfriends.
However, after a while I began to miss what I had during my first semester, someone who actually
cared about me and wanted to be with me for more than just sex. I often hear numerous complaints in
college about not being able to find a significant other. This new style of dating, or hookup culture,
lacks a sense of respect and doesn t allow for an emotional closeness with those students find
attractive. It encourages college students to suppress their emotions in order to gain sexual intimacy
and that wanting a committed relationship is a thing of the past. Why has courtship and traditional

What Are The Contributions Of The Lumire Brothers In Cinema
The Lumière Brothers we the first among filmmakers in history. Auguste Marie Louis Nicolas and
Louis Jean were born in Besançon, France during 1895. During this era, he and his brother would be
the first to launch a motion picture. They had shot their first motion picture with a sweeping invention,
which combined the camera and a projector, they named it the Cinèmatographe. The Lumière Brothers
had many technological contributions to cinema, along with their technological significances in the
film industry. The Lumière Brothers had many career highlights, lasting impacts on not only the
development of motion pictures but the importance they brought out to many individuals including
themselves during this early era of new beginnings.
The Lumière Brothers were both technically minded and overshadowed many other individuals in the
sciences; they both attended a technical school so that they could prosper their technical ability. They
were inspired to build such a tool that would prosper film into what it is today. Auguste and Louis
Lumière s father Antoine Lumière was well known painters and attended and Edison s exhibition
relating to an invention he had created called the Kinetoscope. This exhibition showcased the
Kinetoscope in Paris and he had told them you should try to develop a cheaper alternative to the
peephole film viewing device that its bulky camera counterpart (Pruitt 1). Listening to their father s
advice they both took it into consideration and did exactly what they had been implied to do. The
Kinetoscope only did one job, which let the machine play a film but it could only be watched by on
individual at a time through the small hole that could be looked through which was located at the top
of the contraption. The brothers went straight to work with their new product so that they could build a
tool where many people could vision motion pictures at the same time while having it projected onto a
screen or plan background of some sort. By 1894 both of the brothers had invented the
Cinèmatographe which projected film of 16 frames per second. The Cinèmatographe was completely
different from the Kinetoscope. Many differing factors went into the development into the
Cinèmatographe. For example, it was

Secret Window Opens With A Straight On Shot
Secret Window opens with a straight on shot of Mort Rainey, played by Johnny Depp. His internal
monologue plays over the audio as the camera stares into his eyes. Turn around. Turn around. Turn the
car around and get the hell out of here. Do not go back there. Ignoring his own thoughts, he exits the
car and runs inside the beaten down lobby of an old motel. Stealing a key off the wall he runs to the
corresponding room and flings the door open, catching his wife cheating. The motel s concierge
emerges from the lobby upon hearing the commotion. A man vaguely resembling Psycho s Anthony
Perkins is dressed in a wife beater and khakis, slipping on a sweater. The parallel between the motel
employee and Norman Bates is uncanning. The back story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Like Alice, the camera warbles before it goes through the glass. The realization is made that the
camera is no longer a view of the reflection, but is now inside the strange parallel world through the
mirror. Text at the bottom of the screen announces six months have passed since the night at the motel.
Mort is asleep on the couch. The silence of the film adds an uncomfortable eeriness. Also, every sound
there is seems to be emphasized and startling. A confident knock on the door wakes Mort. Mort puts
on his glasses and stares out the door. A lanky man wearing a wide brim black hat stares back as Mort
opens the door. You stole my story. Mort dismisses the strange southerner as another crazy reader
before shutting the door in his face. Hiding, Mort hears shuffling on his porch before the stranger revs
his engine and drives off. Mort reopens his door to find a well loved manuscript on his porch weighed
down by a large rock.
Picking up the manuscript, he reads the title page. It reads: Sowing Season by John Shooter. He makes
a beeline for the trashcan and tosses the hefty stack of papers in it. Proceeding to the kitchen, Mort
lathers his hands with soap. Washing his hands in hopes to purify himself from the strange encounter
he had with Shooter. Mr. Rainey heads back to the couch to continue sleeping. All strange things
happen while Mort is asleep; when he is vulnerable and unaware. As a man alone cut off from human

Marxist View of the Capitalistic Mode of Production and...
Karl Marx s view on the capitalistic mode of production highlights the exploitative nature of this
economic system and points to its development as a necessary continuation of feudal societies many
centuries ago. He demonstrates how the bourgeoisie take advantage of the labor power of the
proletariat, creating profit and fueling the expansion necessary to keep profit margins at acceptable
levels. Marx argues that this economic system, in which capital is the basis of wealth, sprung from the
fall of feudalism when the means of production made obsolete the feudalistic relations of production,
in which ownership of land was the basis of wealth. His claim, therefore, that capitalistic societies are
exploitative class societies is true when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This upper class then finds a market in which the fruits of proletariat labor can be reaped at a higher
price, and the surplus value of that transaction is hoarded by the bourgeoisie. It is important to note
that these wealthy persons have considerable incentive to reinvest their profits into the means of
production, thereby improving technology and lowering input costs, but at the same time furthering
the dependence of the proletariat on the bourgeoisie by making the prospect of a return to the old
modes of production increasingly less viable. However, Marx argues that this process cannot sustain
itself without the fulfillment of certain conditions. The capitalist mode of production relies upon an
expanding market and the constant overhaul of the means of production, though these requirements
are not always met and the result is economic crises. Marx argues that it is essential for these
conditions to be met in order to keep profit margins from falling to unacceptable levels at which the
economy will inevitably sink into depression or recession. However, he also acknowledges the
impossibility of maintaining economic stability over the long run and submits that there will always be
instances of economic crisis. Marx s reasoning demonstrates how the capitalist mode of production
arose from the fall of feudalistic

Homework Is Too Much Homework
Starting in Preschool, students experience the responsibility of completing homework. Whether a
student is memorizing the alphabet, completing multiplication worksheets, writing poems and essays,
or completing pre calculus problems, homework consumes much of their time. As time progress
homework is becoming more of a burden to students. As children become older and life becomes more
hectic, they cannot find enough hours in a day to correctly and fully complete their homework.
Because of this, students can possibly fall behind in school and homework quickly becomes useless.
Students of all ages are assigned too much homework. Homework consumes too much of a student s
like and leaves no time for the more important aspects of life. In the article Too Much Homework
written by Professor Carol Huntsinger, which gives insights from a book called The End of
Homework: How Homework Disrupts Families, Overburdens Children and Limits Learning , written
by Etta Kralovec and John Buell, explains that a student s busy schedule along with immense amounts
of homework takes away from the most important parts of life. In this article, Huntsinger explains
how a student named Josh Preston has a full high school course load, attends meetings, participates in
school activities, and also attends three hour swim practices in the evening. Huntsinger then goes on to
explain that after coming home from practice at 7:30 p.m., Preston has to do almost four hours of
homework which leads to him only

The Importance Of Education During The Industrial Age
During the Industrial Age, not every child had the ability to go to school. The majority of children
worked in factories at the time, and only the children of rich families were able to attend school.
Teachers were feared by students and if a student misbehaved or fell behind in class, they would be
punished. Today, many of those practices have changed. Every child has the ability to go to school,
and teachers are not feared by the students. Punishments in class are not as harsh as they were back
then and there are more opportunities than ever, but some of the same values in education that
originated from the Industrial Age are still around.
While many classes still use textbooks, they havetextbooks become outdated and over the school year
get worn down. We as students now have the ability to access the internet and have the ability to learn
anything we want. Many schools end up not using this to their advantage; with online activities,
learning opportunities, and tons of videos thatey can show us so they can giveet a better understanding
of a topic. Education Technology Solutions wrote an article asking questions like, Why are most
examinations not open book? Why cannot students take their computers into a test? In real world

Family Abuse And Child Abuse
We have all heard the saying Home sweet home or Home is where the heart is. Unfortunately for
numerous people, especially women and children, home is anything but a safe haven. In our society
spouse abuse, elderly abuse and child abuse is a major family related social issue. Family abuse comes
in many forms, physical violence, sexual violence and psychological and emotional abuse.
Nonetheless, family violence is not unusual, perhaps this reason is because nuclear families devote to
spend so much time together which leads to emotional bonds integrated with emotional stressors that
may trigger outbursts and violence if the person doesn t know how to deal with stress in other
healthier ways.
Our family influences our prospective as individuals. So when faced with abuse within the family it
can influence our outlook of society. Especially for children who are still developing, when a child is
abused in any way from a family member (mother, father, sibling). The effects of the abuse last
throughout their lifetime and can influence every aspect of their life. The lifelong consequences can
transpire into physical, mental, and psychological problems, this also applies to spousal abuse. Studies
have shown that around five youths die each day due to child abuse and three or more adult females
are murdered by their husbands/boyfriends per a day. 68% of children are abused by a relative and in
addition 2.9 million incidents of child abuse are reported each year, here in the United

How Did The Transcontinental Railroad Impact Westward...
In 1862 President Abraham Lincoln signed the Pacific Railroad Act into law. The act said that there
were two main railroad lines. The Central Pacific Railroad would come from California and the Union
Pacific Railroad would come from the Midwest. The two railroads would meet somewhere in the
middle. (Ducksters). Seven years later the Transcontinental Railroad is finished and you can now
travel across the country with ease. The Transcontinental Railroad has impacted positive Westward
expansion because The Transcontinental Railroad helped people move west and create jobs, The
Transcontinental Railroad was the cheapest and fastest way to get westward, and The Transcontinental
Railroad set the foundation for moving westward in the United States.
After the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad people started to turn westward but what would
they do when they got west? Well with the construction of the railroad complete people starting to
build cities along the railroads they so they could attract people or because of the gold rush they could
easily transport their gold back east. According to an 11th grade history teacher The success of a
boomtown was completely dependent on whether or not the railroad ran through the area. (United).
According to this quote the boomtowns were built near the railroad and with these boomtowns coming
out of nowhere in the west they are going to be building businesses and every business needs workers.

The Legal Approach Of The American Constitution
The Legal Approach: This approach is very tricky to control the president, and therefore, it is very
important to block and prevent any tyrannical regime because it is all about laws and legislatures. In
here, the American constitution is very important and leads the way. It shows that how the constitution
plays a role in presidency. Through this, the significant advantage of this approach is that the president
and his or her presidency is controlled by the constitution, laws, legal precedents and customs. The
legal approach limits the power of the president, and put some boundaries of the presidential warrant,
reach and powers to prevent any tyrannical kind of regimes. This approach also determines that how a
president uses his or her authority with other branches of the federal government, such as judiciary,
the congress and bureaucracy. The Institutional Approach: The Institutional Approach is a traditional
old and significant one that affects the attitudes of the president towards the institution of the
presidency. Because of this, this approach deals with legislature, executive, judiciary, political parties,
interest groups, and the president himself/herself. The presidential institution exists to handle three
sets of responsibilities, regardless of who is president: policy issues, political targets, and the daily
workload (Nelson, year, 41). Of course, the presidency as an institution is very important. Also, a
president plays an important role in this institution.

Adultism Essay
When I first saw what the topic was for this week s writing assignment, I was unaware what adultism
was. I thought adultism was the same as ageism, so it was confusing to me. When I was looking up
what adultism is, I did not know that it was discrimination against younger people. When I was a
child, I can imagine a time where I did notice that my thoughts, feelings, rights, experiences were not
given priority, in deference of the adults in the room. I mean when I younger adults would always say
to me is you re only a kid, you would never understand . At family gatherings, my aunts and uncles
would never include me in the conservations, they would just talk over me. One example that stood
out to me the most was when my family would celebrate thanksgivings, myself and all the kids were
not allowed to sit in the same room as the adults. We would have to sit in another room and sit at the
kids table to eat our dinner on thanksgivings. As I got older I began to become mad at the fact that I

Learned Helplessness Is A Mental Disorder
Learned helplessness is a mental disorder that affects many people in our society. The term learned
helplessness was first used by Martin Seligman and Steven Maier in the 1960 s. Dictionary.com
defines it as a mental condition in which one becomes unable to help oneself due to previous failed
attempts at controlling one s life. This is not a genetic disorder that can be passed down from family
members, rather a learned behavior that develops due to environmental factors. Seligman and Maier s
research demonstrates how the condition occurs. Seligman and Maier s discovery is derived from the
results of an experiment based on Pavlov s classical conditioning theory. The experiment being
performed involved dogs and mild electrical shocks. Initially, the dogs were restrained in a hammock
and they would receive a mild electric shock every time a specific sound was heard. After a
conditioning period, the dogs were removed from the restrictive hammocks and placed into boxes.
The boxes did not restrain the dogs in any manner, and they could easily jump out of the boxes in
order to avoid the electrical shock at any time. The dogs involved in this experiment never tried to
escape from the boxes. The dogs had learned in the previous conditioning that the shock was not
based upon their behavior and it was unavoidable. The dogs had developed a feeling of helplessness
that had overwhelmed their beings, that they quit trying to avoid the electrical shocks and just
accepted it as fate

The contrast between the fire that Cholly tries to set ablaze and the ocean eyes Pecola wishes to have
is evident. Her dad trying to burn their house down symbolizes him trying to squash the dreams of
blue eyes Pecola starts to have soon after this incident. Cholly, not only wants to vandalize their house
and the dreams of Pecola. But, he also manages to vandalize and damages Pecola when he rapes her
twice in the second Act. Once when she was trying to wash dishes and once more while she was
laying on the couch. The symbolism here shows when Pecola is washing the dishes. The water from
the tap is her thoughts about rebirth and becoming a new person, cleansed of any bad, with pure, blue,
eyes. This is once again squashed by Cholly as he rapes her, taking her innocence, her childhood, and
damaging the one thing that was her own and that she could control: her virginity. Later on, when
Pecola s mother, Pauline, doesn t believe her when she tells her about the rape, furthermore proving
the dysfunctional and unloving environment Pecola has to trudge through. After the rape incident, as

It kills one s aspirations and dooms him to vagabondage and crime.
In schools during the 1930 s, the education system failed to present authentic African American
History in schools and African Americans were taught that their history meant nothing because most
history books gave little or no space to the black man s presence in America.
Majority of the educator were from Northern and Western institution and had no concerns of a Negro,
they directed their attention to the majority, the whites. The educators taught the blacks that they were
inferior and would be nothing more than what the oppressor wanted them to be. They were shorted out
of genuine education, were taught less than whites, when in actuality they should be taught more than
the white.
The oppressor feared that if the Negro received an adequate education that they would strive for

If you teach the Negro that he has accomplished as much good as any other race he will aspire to
equality and justice without regard to race. Such an effort would upset the program of the oppressor in

Type Of Heroes In To Kill A Mockingbird
There are many types of heroes but if you look further into them one might find that, mostly, they can
all be put into one of three categories. First there are the Superheroes. They are the ones with larger
than life powers. They are often found in comic books and movies. The Superheroes are arguably the
most well known type of heroes. Great examples include, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Spiderman.
The other type of heroes are the Vigilante. The Vigilante are the heroes that save the day but are

Some heroes just do their jobs. In the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee a lawyer named
Atticus Finch is an example of someone being a hero by doing their job. Atticus Finch is a fictional
lawyer who lives in the fictional town of Maycomb County, Alabama. He is the father of the book s
main characters, Jeremy Jem Finch and Jean Louise Scout Finch. In the book a, which was set in the
1930s, a black man named Tom Robinson was accused of raping a white girl. No lawyer wanted to
help him because of his race, so Atticus decided to defend him even though he knew he would lose.
Even though the evidence was more than enough to prove that Tom was innocent, he was found guilty.
He was killed in prison with the prison guards claiming he tried to escape even though evidence said
otherwise. Atticus became a hero to all of the blacks in Maycomb. He did not care about the color of
Tom s skin. The book was set in a time where racism and segregation were everywhere especially in
Alabama. Atticus knew he couldn t win the case but he tried anyway. He proved that one can be a hero
by just doing their job and treating others like human beings and not differently because of the color
of their skin. The movie, The Guardian, provides examples of other everyday heroes. The main
characters are Ben Randall and Jake Fisher. They are Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers. In the movie,
Ben is involved in a rescue that many of his crew members died in. He

An Overview Of Food Safety Essay
An Overview of Food Safety
Unsafe food has been a human health problem since history was first recorded, and many food safety
problems encountered today are not new. Although governments all over the world are doing their best
to improve the safety of the food supply, the occurrence of foodborne disease remains a significant
health issue in both developed and developing countries as stated by WHO (2006). Food safety
concept is that food will not harm the consumer so long as intended use guidelines are followed when
it is prepared or eaten. Conversely, food is potentially harmful whenever it has been exposed to
hazardous agents and intended use guidelines have not been followed (ISO 22000, 2005). York et al.
(2009) as well as Gormley et al. (2011) reported that There is no doubt that the food safety is of great
importance because it provides supplied food safety and secures the conditions and actions through
the production, processing, storage or distribution of food to ensure its safety or suitability for human
consumption Safe Food is free from contaminants and risk and that does not cause injury or damage or

Wuthering Heights Nature Essay
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (1847) is a much darker depiction on love, nature, and even
revenge than the tales by the other two Bronte sisters. A crucial role in the book is played primarily by
the landscape throughout the novel, whether it be through the mystery of the moors or how each home
represents a specific dichotomy. Areas categorized as elements of nature, civilization, or even the in
between play an integral role in the development of characters, who are also represented in those
aspects, within the novel. Wuthering Heights itself is an embodiment of nature. First and foremost, it

to afford to provide for their children as they ad hoped. They may struggle to buy enough food,
especially health food, to eat, buy clothes to wear or even to provide heating and electric. This can
affect their physical and mental health due to poor hygiene and diet. Some children may suffer with
low self esteem and low self respect because of the stigma attached to poverty, this can affect them in
later life also. Ethnic/cultural beliefs and customs Whilst children and young people should feel proud
of their ethnicity, some may experience racism which can have an impact on their self esteem, what
they would like to do and their outlook. This factor may affect how they dress, their dietary
requirements and socialising. They may encounter discrimination an insufficient equality that can
effect their opportunities in life. All settings and staff should show awareness and understanding of

friend can turn a child s world upside down. Grief can bring all sorts of emotions, upset, sadness, hurt
and anger because they are gone and, fear because the child may be afraid of other loved ones dying

Reflection On How I Learn English
This semester, you helped me learn that English isn t just about writing, that it is about learning, too.
You taught me how to write an article reflection, like the one about how sleep deprivation can cause
damage to your health. You also taught me how to annotate articles like how eating too much added
sugar may be killing you. Another thing that I learned from you this semester was the WODs. They
helped me expand my vocabulary and make my writing more interesting. An assignment we did this
year was shakespearience. If you hadn t given us this assignment, then I probably would never have
read any plays by Shakespeare. least helpful assignment was shakespearience because you never
genuinely talked about his plays in class. You said we had to read the books, but we never went over
them in class. What if we had questions about the book? You never took the time to check up on us to
see how we were doing. The best and most helpful assignment yo taught us was the one about Malala.
It genuinely helped me(and the rest of the class) understand what is happening to girls and women in
third world countries. I understand now the importance of education. People all around fight for what
we have so easily. We take for granted what we have and most of us don t know what is happening to
others. So this lesson about Malala taught me and hopefully the rest of my class to appreciate what we
have. Nothing that you taught us needs to be revisited. I understand mostly everything that has been
learned this semester, it just took me a lot of time to process it. My class last year, mostly did just
personal narratives or book reports. I just wasn t expecting you to be so hard on us, especially the first
semester. Although, you pushed my class and me to new limits, and I hope to do better the next part of
this school year.
As my teacher, I honestly think of you are a great teacher yet sometimes, you seem like you don t care
about us. For example, there was this one time in class when we were taking an assessment and when
I asked you for help, you just ignored me and looked away. Sometimes I wish you would try to help us
more on things we are struggling with instead of just not caring at all. Your strengths are that you are

Financing a Worldwide Expansion Strategy for a Limousine...
Introduction My company has become quite successful, and is now considering an expansion. In order
to facilitate this expansion, we are considering purchasing a competitor. My company is a limousine
company, and we have expanded via franchising into a number of different states and metro areas at
this point. We are considering purchasing a rival that operates mainly in areas adjacent to ours, with
the objective of expanding our presence in those markets, and building our brand. This strategy is part
of a plan to grow the business nationwide. Valuation Methods There are several valuation methods
that can be used to analyze the competing company. These are adjusted book value, capitalized
adjusted earnings, discounted future earnings, the cash flow method and the gross revenue multiplier
(Collin.edu, 2013). Another technique is to base the valuation on the stock market valuation of a
similar company. In this case, most limousine services are not publicly traded, so the stock market
option is not available. Thus, the optimal method will come from the other five options. The adjusted
book value of the operation is based on the idea that we are paying for the firm s book value, in
particular with the book value of the assets or the book value of the equity. This is a decent option,
since we can expect to utilize our own brand, therefore the important part of the purchase is the assets
that we are acquiring, everything from cars to drivers to customer contacts. However,

War, Home, And Patriotism In War Is Kind By Stephen Crane
Many poems about the civil war convey universal themes of the time. Stephen Crane s poem War is
Kind is no different. The poem, War is kind written by Stephen Crane(1871 1900) has three themes
common to civil war literature: Warfare, Home, and Patriotism. This poem s overall theme is about
how war destroys families conversely to the title of War is Kind or the many times which Crane says
War is Kind . The three themes of warfare, home, and patriotism are displayed in many pieces of Civil
War literature consequently making them the universal themes. Firstly is the theme of Warfare and
destruction of families caused by it. To start off with the theme of Warfare is common in many civil

The definition of patriotism is pride in your country or cause, conversely the war is seen as unpatriotic
because the men seem to be fighting for nothing. Hoarse, booming drums of the regiment, /Little souls
who thirst for fight, /These men were born to drill and die. (Lines 6 8) This adds on to the idea of the
war being unpatriotic by showing that the men were only born to fight, or to Drill and Die
consequently making it seem as if they were fighting just to fulfill their needs. This theme is also seen
in lines 17 18 Swift, blazing flag of the regiment, / Eagle with crest of red and gold, (Lines 17 18)
This flag is a very simple representative of death and illness using the colors it did. This all helps to
result in the patriotic theme of the poem by giving us a representation of how unpatriotic the war was.
To conclude the poem War is Kind By Stephen Crane includes three universal themes commonly seen
in many examples of civil war literature. The themes of warfare, war on the home front, and patriotism
occur in the poem as well as many other pieces of civil war literature. The overall theme of the poem
is how war is cruel and unkind making the poem seem like mockery to those who believe war is

Mr Collins Pride And Prejudice Humor Essay
In Pride and Prejudice, humor is used to highlight absurd situations and social blunders. Austen uses
humor as a tool to show the readers what behavior is acceptable and what is not. Behaving above your
rank is one of these social faux pas. Mr. Collins, Sir William Lucas, and Caroline Bingley are all
examples of how not to act. Mr. Collins is constantly trying to improve his social situation by using
his connection to Lady Catherine, Sir William takes himself too seriously, and Caroline always tries to
elevate herself above Elizabeth, even though they are of the same station. The characters who provide
the most humor throughout the book are the ones who act higher in status than they are in reality. Mr.

Whenever Darcy is around, she is by his side, trying to gain his affections. Elizabeth remarks that the

Caroline s actions have the opposite effect intended, as Darcy hardly replies to her. There is a
complete contrast between them Caroline is completely engaged in the conversation, while Darcy is
not paying any attention. Her attempts to draw his attention to her are funny because they are met with
such indifference. Caroline s increasing desperation also contributes to the humor of her character. She
is constantly trying to highlight her own supposed superiority by referencing Elizabeth s relations and
making disparaging comments about her appearance. When they meet Elizabeth during her trip with

(181). Darcy replies that he believes Elizabeth to be the handsomest woman of his acquaintance and
then leaves. Caroline has finally forced him to say what gave no one any pain but herself (181).
Instead of diminishing his feelings for Elizabeth, Caroline has only succeeded in alienating Darcy. Her
attempts to improve her social status have completely backfired. This irony, as well as the
juxtaposition between Caroline and Darcy during their interactions, produces the

How Does Shakespeare Present Relationship Between Men and...
How does Shakespeare present relationship between Men and Women and how might a modern day
audience respond?
During the time of Shakespeare women lived in a male dominated society. Women In this period had
virtually no legal power and lost all right to own all personal property when they married. Men were
expected to be the heads of the households. Once a boy turned eight he no longer was required to obey
his mother. The ideal woman was believed to be a virgin and a faithful wife. Female honour and social
respectability were tied so closely to sexuality that death was often presented as preferable to the loss
of female chastity. The relationships between Men and Women In this play do reflect the status
between them at the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hermione is reasonable and rational; she is proud of her self and confident that she has done no
wrong. She trusts in her husband to find the truth, where as Leontes completely irrational jealously
shows he has no trust. This reflect the imbalanced relationship they have although a modern audience
would want Hermione to fight for her rights against this hysterical man, we admire her for her dignity.
Although Hermione accepts the charges the lords of the courts show that Hermione is true and loyal
and they want the good truth to be known . In contrast to the relationship of Hermione and Leontes
rests the relationship of Paulina and Antigonus. Unlike Hermione, Paulina is a strong minded and
dominant woman and does not let her husband rule her like Hermione does He shall not rule me .
Paulina and Antigonus seem to contradict the conventional rules of marriage because at the time of the
play it was very unusual for a woman to be in control of the marriage. Although in today s modern
society these would be seen as a common normal thing. Therefore a Modern audience would relate
more with Paulina and Antigonus and would feel more comfortable watching them. However Leontes
expects Antigonus to rule Paulina and control her which reflect the expectations of a Jacobean
marriage. A modern audience would be shocked by how forceful Leontes is. Force her hence . The
contrast in the two marriages reflects the contrast between the two men and the two women, and

Children With Disabilities Education Act
Children with disabilities are able to receive special education and related services from age 3 through
their 21st birthday. These services are mandated under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
(IDEA) (U.S. Department of Education, 2007). School divisions are required by law to provide
transition services to all children with disabilities who receive special education services in order to
make the transition successful. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) receive special
education services, thus they are provided with transition services in order to function successfully in
adulthood (Wagner, 2006).
IDEA 2004 ensures that all children with disabilities have access to a free and appropriate education,
along with special education services that prepare them for further education, employment, and
independent living. Once students have completed their free and appropriate education; postsecondary
education, employment, and independent living usually follows. IDEA 2004 states that transition
planning should help students enter vocational education, postsecondary education, community
participation, adult services, independent living, integrated employment, and/or continuing and adult
education. Therefore, schools are mandated to provide transition services in order to prepare students
with disabilities for transition (U.S. Department of Education, 2007).

  • 2. The Myers-Briggs Personality Assessment Everyday you learn more and more about yourself.. You might not know it, but you could really like the sushi at the local place you always pass through after school but never get the curiosity of trying it. As senior year comes half of us know where we want to do with the rest of their lives, but the other half is still trying to find who they are. Taking personality tests can be important because they help us learn more about ourselves whether or not they are accurate. While taking both the Big Five Project and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator assessment, I learned a little more about myself then I had expected. The Big Five Project, in my opinion, was an understandable test. In the beginning, I was really curious as to why I had to compare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was too complicated to understand. My results came in as two personalities, ESFJ and ENFJ. According to 16 Personalities, ESFJ is known as the The Consul. In high school, they re the football players, cheerleaders, student council members or in other words the popular crowd. Extraversion was E, which I had gotten on the Big Five test and basically stating again that I am talkative. I like to talk a lot but when it comes down to doing my school work, I am in full concentration mode. Sensing was S, basically being organized and realistic. Sensors in contrary to Intuitors are more about a day to day planner. At the end of the day they want to finish what has to be finished but if course being realistic. Feeling was F, the idea of making decisions based on emotion. It s all about intuition. Judgment was J, going with something and actually doing it. In previous group projects there has always been that one person that changes everything up without telling the group, I dislike this people. If we brainstormed something that we should stick with the plan rather than the flow. My second personality was ENFJ. According to 16 Personalities, The Protagonist. People with the ENFJ are born to be leaders, they re the politicians, coaches and teachers, reaching out and inspiring others to achieve and to do good in the world. Three out of the four traits that are in ENFJ were in my first personality type, the remaining one was Intuition. People with this trait tend to prefer speed but in depth information. • 3. The Pros And Cons Of International Commercial Arbitration Conclusion The driving force of trade is one of the most powerful influences on human activity. Therefore since the medieval time till this day; Commercial law has been constantly developing by adapting new principles due the continuous growth in the commercial transactions; in order a to fit and match the sellers and buyers needs in our modern societies. In addition the harmonization of the principles and rules of commercial law governing international transactions has played a main role on positively affecting the commercial transactions by encouraging sellers and buyer to carry on with international business where the parties are located in different countries; which earlier was a risk to them due to conflict of laws and different jurisdictions. ... In International Commercial Arbitration, The awards given by the arbitrators have direct effect that can be enforced international in the member states to the New York Convention. After the award is granted to one party, if the other party fails to perform his duty then the award can be taken to litigation and it will be enforced by the courts. Through the materials in this research, it can be concluded that ADR and precisely International Commercial Arbitration can be more efficient than litigation and any means of ADR, as saves time, coasts and preserves relationships between the parties. Furthermore shares the features of the other ADR methods; such neutrality, confidentiality, and speed. But it has one more advantage over other ADR methods, that by the end of the arbitral process the arbitrator will make an award which can be internationally enforced under New York Convention 1958. • 4. The Awakening as an Allegory of Existentialism Essay The Awakening as an Allegory of Existentialism Kate Chopin s The Awakening as the title suggests is just that‹the story of a young woman s awakening to life. Even though it is a work of fiction, the character of Edna undergoes such a radical change one cannot ignore the psychological depth of the work. The story could almost be seen as a case study. In order to analyze the work psychologically, it is important to decide which psychological framework to use. I chose the critic Cynthia Wolff who uses a Freudian framework for analysis. Wolff feels that Edna s problems are a result of oral conflicts, while I see the work as more of an allegory of existentialism, and Edna s problems are a result of a lack of Being. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most people pass through this stage without any conflict, and this allows them to move on to the formation of a more complex self. Wolff believes that Edna s central problem once the hidden self begins to exert its inexorable power, is that her libidinal appetite has been fixated at the oral level (Wolff 232), meaning that on some level she has begun to move beyond the oral stage. The first evidence we have of this is when she kisses Arobin. This is an act of fulfillment on the genital level. Edna has recognized her libidinal needs, but this does not seem to give her the satisfaction she craves. This longing is not a desire for a particular man, but the presence of the beloved (Wolff 233). She recognizes an emptiness within her and like anyone else has a strong need to fill it. Edna tries to satisfy this new sensation of emptiness, but she is not sure what it is that needs to be satisfied. There is a void that has begun to open up in her life, and she tries several ways of filling it. She attempts to go back to painting, she moves out of her house and even has an affair. Her painting is still an attempt at internalizing the world around her: Edna s painting might offer her an excellent and viable mode for coming to terms with the insistent demands of cosmic yearning. For one thing, it utilizes in an effective way her habit of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Takeaways Analysis On Sunday night, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 132 113 in Game 2 of the 2017 NBA Finals, taking a commanding 2 0 series lead. Even though Cavaliers superstar LeBron James notched his eighth NBA Finals triple double, tying him with Magic Johnson for the most in NBA Finals history, it was not enough to overcome the offensive firepower of the Warriors. Just like in Game 1, it was once again the Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry show. Here are three takeaways from Game 2: 1. Kevin Durant is on his way to potentially being named Finals MVP After his phenomenal Game 1 performance, many people wondered what Kevin Durant would do for an encore performance in Game 2? To answer that question, Durant did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite his stellar perimeter defense, the Warriors needed Thompson to find his shot again and give them an extra offensive boost in Game 2. Thompson did just that as he pitched in with 22 points and seven rebounds, plus knocked down 4 of 7 from three point range. Give Thompson credit though, he is an outstanding shooter and when you are a shooter like him, you need to have a short memory. A missed shot will not make or break you. Thompson was knocking down shots inside the arc, putting the ball on the floor, and dialing it up from distance. The Warriors will need him to continue to shoot the ball like he did on Sunday night, especially if they want to win Game 3 on Tuesday night and take a commanding 3 0 series lead. 3. LeBron James is still the greatest player in the world but he cannot do it all Once again in the NBA Finals, LeBron James gave us another special performance. As I mentioned earlier, James posted his eighth NBA Finals triple double consisting of 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, but it was not enough. Early in the game, James was playing like a man possessed. He was controlling the tempo, attacking the basket with force and tenacity, while also getting his teammates involved. He also threw down a powerful dunk on Andre Iguodala, who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

  • 7. Hurricane Impact On Tropical And Subtropical Waters A hurricane is referred to a storm that forms over tropical and subtropical waters. Hurricanes have the power to destroy life and property. Hurricanes are referred to as Typhoons in the Western Pacific and Cyclones in Southeast Asia. On average, the Hurricane Season begins on June 1 and ends on November 30. A Hurricane s intensity is measured on the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. A storm is classified as a hurricane when its wind speed goes above 74 mph (NOAA 2014). A hurricane is classified on a 1 to 5 category, based on its maximum wind speed. The higher the category, the greater the hurricane is potential for damage. A hurricane forms over warm waters near the equator. A hurricane goes through four stages of development from a disturbance to a hurricane. The first stage is known as Tropical Disturbance. Tropical Disturbance is a weak storm over tropical waters, containing mild winds, clouds, and precipitation. The second stage is known as a Tropical Depression. A Tropical Depression is formed when a group of thunderstorms comes together to produce circular wind flow. A Tropical Depression flows with maximum sustained winds below 39 mph (NASA 2015). The third stage in hurricane formation is known as a Tropical Storm. A Tropical Storm forms when a tropical depression s cyclonic circulation becomes more organized and produces winds up to 73 mph. The fourth and final step of hurricane formation is the hurricane itself. A tropical storm becomes a hurricane as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. How College Dating Has Changed My Life College dating has changed a lot since my parents went to school. Courtship and chivalry are dead, or extremely hard to find, and a majority of college students are involved in the hookup culture. A hookup is a nonromantic encounter with a friend or acquaintance that involves an unspecified degree of sexual interaction, (Carpenter and DeLamater 129). When I first started college, I had a very nice relationship that lasted about 3 months. When we both decided to just be friends, it dawned on me that I could sleep with whomever I wanted to. During my second semester in college, I more than doubled the amount of guys I slept with in high school and I know why I did it. I let myself engage in hookup culture because I wanted to rebel against my parents, have some sense of intimacy without commitment, experience new things, and it was so much fun to brag about with my girlfriends. However, after a while I began to miss what I had during my first semester, someone who actually cared about me and wanted to be with me for more than just sex. I often hear numerous complaints in college about not being able to find a significant other. This new style of dating, or hookup culture, lacks a sense of respect and doesn t allow for an emotional closeness with those students find attractive. It encourages college students to suppress their emotions in order to gain sexual intimacy and that wanting a committed relationship is a thing of the past. Why has courtship and traditional ... The Lumière Brothers were both technically minded and overshadowed many other individuals in the sciences; they both attended a technical school so that they could prosper their technical ability. They were inspired to build such a tool that would prosper film into what it is today. Auguste and Louis Lumière s father Antoine Lumière was well known painters and attended and Edison s exhibition relating to an invention he had created called the Kinetoscope. The Kinetoscope only did one job, which let the machine play a film but it could only be watched by on individual at a time through the small hole that could be looked through which was located at the top of the contraption. The brothers went straight to work with their new product so that they could build a tool where many people could vision motion pictures at the same time while having it projected onto a screen or plan background of some sort. By 1894 both of the brothers had invented the Cinèmatographe which projected film of 16 frames per second. The Cinèmatographe was completely different from the Kinetoscope. • 11. Marxist View of the Capitalistic Mode of Production and... Karl Marx s view on the capitalistic mode of production highlights the exploitative nature of this economic system and points to its development as a necessary continuation of feudal societies many centuries ago. He demonstrates how the bourgeoisie take advantage of the labor power of the proletariat, creating profit and fueling the expansion necessary to keep profit margins at acceptable levels. Marx argues that this economic system, in which capital is the basis of wealth, sprung from the fall of feudalism when the means of production made obsolete the feudalistic relations of production, in which ownership of land was the basis of wealth. This upper class then finds a market in which the fruits of proletariat labor can be reaped at a higher price, and the surplus value of that transaction is hoarded by the bourgeoisie. It is important to note that these wealthy persons have considerable incentive to reinvest their profits into the means of production, thereby improving technology and lowering input costs, but at the same time furthering the dependence of the proletariat on the bourgeoisie by making the prospect of a return to the old modes of production increasingly less viable. However, Marx argues that this process cannot sustain itself without the fulfillment of certain conditions. The capitalist mode of production relies upon an expanding market and the constant overhaul of the means of production, though these requirements are not always met and the result is economic crises. Marx argues that it is essential for these conditions to be met in order to keep profit margins from falling to unacceptable levels at which the economy will inevitably sink into depression or recession. The Legal Approach Of The American Constitution The Legal Approach: This approach is very tricky to control the president, and therefore, it is very important to block and prevent any tyrannical regime because it is all about laws and legislatures. In here, the American constitution is very important and leads the way. It shows that how the constitution plays a role in presidency. Through this, the significant advantage of this approach is that the president and his or her presidency is controlled by the constitution, laws, legal precedents and customs. The legal approach limits the power of the president, and put some boundaries of the presidential warrant, reach and powers to prevent any tyrannical kind of regimes. This approach also determines that how a president uses his or her authority with other branches of the federal government, such as judiciary, the congress and bureaucracy. • 19. Learned Helplessness Is A Mental Disorder Learned helplessness is a mental disorder that affects many people in our society. The term learned helplessness was first used by Martin Seligman and Steven Maier in the 1960 s. Dictionary.com defines it as a mental condition in which one becomes unable to help oneself due to previous failed attempts at controlling one s life. This is not a genetic disorder that can be passed down from family members, rather a learned behavior that develops due to environmental factors. Seligman and Maier s research demonstrates how the condition occurs. Seligman and Maier s discovery is derived from the results of an experiment based on Pavlov s classical conditioning theory. The experiment being performed involved dogs and mild electrical shocks. Initially, the dogs were restrained in a hammock and they would receive a mild electric shock every time a specific sound was heard. After a conditioning period, the dogs were removed from the restrictive hammocks and placed into boxes. The boxes did not restrain the dogs in any manner, and they could easily jump out of the boxes in order to avoid the electrical shock at any time. The dogs involved in this experiment never tried to escape from the boxes. The dogs had learned in the previous conditioning that the shock was not based upon their behavior and it was unavoidable. The dogs had developed a feeling of helplessness that had overwhelmed their beings, that they quit trying to avoid the electrical shocks and just accepted it as fate ... • 30. Wuthering Heights Nature Essay Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (1847) is a much darker depiction on love, nature, and even revenge than the tales by the other two Bronte sisters. A crucial role in the book is played primarily by the landscape throughout the novel, whether it be through the mystery of the moors or how each home represents a specific dichotomy. Areas categorized as elements of nature, civilization, or even the in between play an integral role in the development of characters, who are also represented in those aspects, within the novel. Wuthering Heights itself is an embodiment of nature. First and foremost, it is isolated from civilization, being sheltered away by the dangerous moors in the winter. He goes out of his way to destroy relationships, just as nature can alter to disrupt environments similarly. He is given animalistic attributes when described at different points in the novel. When he is young, he is given softer, yet foreshadowing, qualities, Nelly describing, He was as uncomplaining as a lamb; though hardness, not gentleness, made him give little trouble (67). As Heathcliff grows up subjected towards harmful forces within the household, he assimilates to them, emerging as savage and abusive towards others. Nelly depicts her interaction with him later on in the book, recounting, He dashed his head against the knotted trunk; and, lifting up his eyes, howled, not like a man, but like a savage beast being groaded to death with knives and spears (175). One is able to identify the role Wuthering Heights has played in Heathcliff s character development, as if he has integrated into a part of his natural environment. Thrushcross Grange is depicted as a symbol for civilization. Catherine ends up marrying Edgar Linton, who inhabits the household with his sister Isabella Linton, who ends up wedding Heathcliff. Thrushcross Grange itself is across the moors from Wuthering Heights, rendering it closer to the rest of the town. Long before Catherine s marriage to Edgar, when she is younger, she ends up abiding in Thrushcross Grange for five weeks. Nelly notes Catherine s transformation that comes from staying in Thrushcross Grange for only a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This can affect their physical and mental health due to poor hygiene and diet. Some children may suffer with low self esteem and low self respect because of the stigma attached to poverty, this can affect them in later life also. Ethnic/cultural beliefs and customs Whilst children and young people should feel proud of their ethnicity, some may experience racism which can have an impact on their self esteem, what they would like to do and their outlook. This factor may affect how they dress, their dietary requirements and socialising. They may encounter discrimination an insufficient equality that can effect their opportunities in life. • 32. Reflection On How I Learn English This semester, you helped me learn that English isn t just about writing, that it is about learning, too. You taught me how to write an article reflection, like the one about how sleep deprivation can cause damage to your health. You also taught me how to annotate articles like how eating too much added sugar may be killing you. Another thing that I learned from you this semester was the WODs. They helped me expand my vocabulary and make my writing more interesting. An assignment we did this year was shakespearience. If you hadn t given us this assignment, then I probably would never have read any plays by Shakespeare. least helpful assignment was shakespearience because you never genuinely talked about his plays in class. You said we had to read the books, but we never went over them in class. What if we had questions about the book? You never took the time to check up on us to see how we were doing. The best and most helpful assignment yo taught us was the one about Malala. It genuinely helped me(and the rest of the class) understand what is happening to girls and women in third world countries. I understand now the importance of education. People all around fight for what we have so easily. We take for granted what we have and most of us don t know what is happening to others. So this lesson about Malala taught me and hopefully the rest of my class to appreciate what we have. Nothing that you taught us needs to be revisited. I understand mostly everything that has been learned this semester, it just took me a lot of time to process it. My class last year, mostly did just personal narratives or book reports. I just wasn t expecting you to be so hard on us, especially the first semester. Although, you pushed my class and me to new limits, and I hope to do better the next part of this school year. As my teacher, I honestly think of you are a great teacher yet sometimes, you seem like you don t care about us. For example, there was this one time in class when we were taking an assessment and when I asked you for help, you just ignored me and looked away. Sometimes I wish you would try to help us more on things we are struggling with instead of just not caring at all. Your strengths are that you are very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Financing a Worldwide Expansion Strategy for a Limousine... Introduction My company has become quite successful, and is now considering an expansion. In order to facilitate this expansion, we are considering purchasing a competitor. My company is a limousine company, and we have expanded via franchising into a number of different states and metro areas at this point. We are considering purchasing a rival that operates mainly in areas adjacent to ours, with the objective of expanding our presence in those markets, and building our brand. This strategy is part of a plan to grow the business nationwide. Valuation Methods There are several valuation methods that can be used to analyze the competing company. These are adjusted book value, capitalized adjusted earnings, discounted future earnings, the cash flow method and the gross revenue multiplier (Collin.edu, 2013). Another technique is to base the valuation on the stock market valuation of a similar company. In this case, most limousine services are not publicly traded, so the stock market option is not available. Thus, the optimal method will come from the other five options. The adjusted book value of the operation is based on the idea that we are paying for the firm s book value, in particular with the book value of the assets or the book value of the equity. This is a decent option, since we can expect to utilize our own brand, therefore the important part of the purchase is the assets that we are acquiring, everything from cars to drivers to customer contacts. This theme is also seen in lines 17 18 Swift, blazing flag of the regiment, / Eagle with crest of red and gold, (Lines 17 18) This flag is a very simple representative of death and illness using the colors it did. To conclude the poem War is Kind By Stephen Crane includes three universal themes commonly seen in many examples of civil war literature. The themes of warfare, war on the home front, and patriotism occur in the poem as well as many other pieces of civil war literature. Austen uses humor as a tool to show the readers what behavior is acceptable and what is not. Behaving above your rank is one of these social faux pas. Mr. Collins, Sir William Lucas, and Caroline Bingley are all examples of how not to act. Mr. Collins is constantly trying to improve his social situation by using his connection to Lady Catherine, Sir William takes himself too seriously, and Caroline always tries to elevate herself above Elizabeth, even though they are of the same station. The characters who provide the most humor throughout the book are the ones who act higher in status than they are in reality. Mr. Collins provides a great deal of humor ... During the time of Shakespeare women lived in a male dominated society. Women In this period had virtually no legal power and lost all right to own all personal property when they married. Men were expected to be the heads of the households. Once a boy turned eight he no longer was required to obey his mother. The ideal woman was believed to be a virgin and a faithful wife. Female honour and social respectability were tied so closely to sexuality that death was often presented as preferable to the loss of female chastity. Hermione is reasonable and rational; she is proud of her self and confident that she has done no wrong. She trusts in her husband to find the truth, where as Leontes completely irrational jealously shows he has no trust. This reflect the imbalanced relationship they have although a modern audience would want Hermione to fight for her rights against this hysterical man, we admire her for her dignity. Although Hermione accepts the charges the lords of the courts show that Hermione is true and loyal and they want the good truth to be known . In contrast to the relationship of Hermione and Leontes rests the relationship of Paulina and Antigonus. Unlike Hermione, Paulina is a strong minded and dominant woman and does not let her husband rule her like Hermione does He shall not rule me . Paulina and Antigonus seem to contradict the conventional rules of marriage because at the time of the play it was very unusual for a woman to be in control of the marriage. Although in today s modern society these would be seen as a common normal thing. Therefore a Modern audience would relate more with Paulina and Antigonus and would feel more comfortable watching them. • 39. Children With Disabilities Education Act Children with disabilities are able to receive special education and related services from age 3 through their 21st birthday. These services are mandated under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) (U.S. Department of Education, 2007). School divisions are required by law to provide transition services to all children with disabilities who receive special education services in order to make the transition successful. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) receive special education services, thus they are provided with transition services in order to function successfully in adulthood (Wagner, 2006). IDEA 2004 ensures that all children with disabilities have access to a free and appropriate education, along with special education services that prepare them for further education, employment, and independent living. Once students have completed their free and appropriate education; postsecondary education, employment, and independent living usually follows.
