Thesis Statement For Culinary School
It is a truth universally acknowledged that the culinary industry is flourishing expeditiously and is
expected to do so for the next upcoming years. According to National Restaurant Association, the
United States of America s culinary industry sales are expected to hit a record high of $709.2 billion in
2015 in which will represent the sixth consecutive year of the growth in the culinary industry
(National Restaurant Association, 2015). This creates a ripple effect, generating an immense demand
of chefs to take on these positions and the education sector has taken advantage by rushing forward to
fulfil these need and offers plethora of courses suit to the interest of prospective students. Culinary
schools are notorious for training vocational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It certainly may give you a leg up in the industry, but it does not contribute as a major factor to what
makes you an efficacious chef. Your triumphant as a chef is an assemblage of bits and pieces of your
passion for culinary and dedication to be on pins and needles to create delectable dish despite the
catastrophe along the journey. Moreover, your desire to accentuate the preponderance of being a
humble life long learner and hence, the willingness to sacrifice your time to the gazillion experiments
spent in the kitchen just to create one sans pareil dish and polishing the potential beneath you.
Believing that all that goes around comes around, it is rest assured that your venture is the reason
behind what led you to the top and if you believe that you got what it takes to be a chef and decided to
hitch your wagon to star, it is prophesied that you deliver the food to the best of your ability.
Ultimately, as many have said, nothing worth having comes easy but anything worth having is worth
the fight and the strength of your fight is the measure of your result. All in all, it is you and only you
who owns the power to make your dream comes to life and the effort you put in, will eventually come

The Effects Of Slavery On American South And Its Entire...
Between 1800 and 1865, slaves lived in the Southern States and worked in the tobacco, wheat, rice,
corn and cotton plantations. Essentially, slavery was an economic institution with far reaching benefits
to slaveholders, since the value of slave labor was considerably more than the cost of their
maintenance. Demands for democratization, respect for human dignity and American Civil War
presented a major turning point in the institution of slavery as farmers turned to lesser labor intensive
production methods such as the use of Eli Whitney s Cotton Gin. This paper analyzes different ways
in which institution of Slavery affected the development of American South between 1800 1865, and
the lives of people living in the region. In doing so the paper considers economic, political, social and
cultural implications of the institution.
Although slaves and slaveholders were significantly different, the Institution of Slavery negatively
impacted the American South and its entire population.
Economic Effects Prevalence of a less diversified southern economic approach was a condition that
negatively impacted the economic progress. With cheap labor from slaves, the South prevalently
practiced agriculture at the expense of market economies. While significant in farming, slave labor
made farmers more complacent in agricultural production. The situation inevitably led to reluctance in
establishing sustainable trade networks with other States in the North. As Wright (2006)

New Hampshire Visit
My mother held the reason for the family s New Hampshire visit, two tickets to a race at New
Hampshire Motor Speedway. While my parents attended the race in the sweltering heat, my sister,
Catlyn, and I had the entire day to ourselves. We didn t have much of a plan besides spending the day
without our parents. Catlyn and I agreed to explore the area around Hampton, starting near our hotel.
We found a pamphlet for a group of outlet stores. Upon further inspection of the pamphlet, we realized
that outlets were in Maine. This fact had confused us. To our knowledge New Hampshire and Maine
seemed too far for a day s drive. When we found directions on our phones we noticed that it would
only take twenty minutes. Wait, so it only takes twenty minutes ... Show more content on

We still had plenty of time in the day to get to Kittery, so Catlyn and I set off for Maine. As our
parents didn t have the pleasure of knowing that we decided to drive to Maine, we thoughtfully sent
them a picture of the Welcome to Maine sign, leaving them to question why we left the state. We
arrived at Kittery sometime near noon. After walking around in the summer heat, we stopped at a Bose
factory store. The moment we walked into the store we fell under a trance to try on every single pair
of headphones. Ooh, noise cancelling, my sister said with a sarcastic tone. We compared pairs of
headphones and enjoyed the cool air conditioning. We had to pick up every pair and check, possibly
double check, the cushions and the way the headphones felt when we wore them. The time spent in the
Bose store was well needed as the air conditioning was perfectly set to cool us during the warm day.
After our folly in the store we decided to check the rest of the outlet stores to possibly find more
nonsensical things to mess around with. We stopped into a store called Brookstone after. This store is
known for its odd gadgets and assortment of massage chairs. This store didn t interest us as much
because everything interesting was not out on display, but instead stuck inside a

Fall of Enron Essay
Q1 Who were the key stakeholders involved in, or affected by the collapse of Enron? How and to
what degree were they hurt or helped by the actions of Enron management?
Ans The key stakeholders affected by the collapse of Enron were its employees and retirees.
Stakeholders and mutual funds investors lost $ 70billion market value. Banks were also affected by
the meltdown of the company. They included big banks like J P Morgan Chase and Citigroup. Not
only the stakeholder and bondholder lose out, the confidence in the company also fell. This was the
major setback for the company. The actions of Enron management left a deep scare for its 4000
employees which lost out their jobs and also impacted others around them. Some blamed Arthur ...

All the above issues that led to the bankruptcy of the company were perpetuated by the actions of Lay,
Skilling, Fastow and other executives. They all led to the collapse of the company. Lay did not enquire
about the decisions that Skilling and Fastow were taking. He just approved to everything that they
kept in front of him. Skilling always wanted to keep up to the Wall Street expectations and for this he
gave pressure on his executives to find new was to hide the dept. This was the major setback for the
company as they didn t know that in future everything was going to come out and it would have led to
bad consequences. Lay did not enquire about all this and approved of all the work Skilling was doing.
Q3 What steps should be taken now by corporate managers, stakeholders, and policy makers to
prevent a similar event from occurring in the future?
Ans People should not lie about the company s financial status just to bring it up In the market.
Eventually the truth is going to come out one day or the other. Auditors should properly keep track of
the finances. Managers, stakeholders and directors should be aware of everything that is happening in
the company. Policy makers should think about what steps they are taking and how it will affect other
people lives. They should not make policies for the benefits of the big companies who give them
finances for their political endeavours.

Gulf of Tonkin Resolution
Although the United States never declared an official war on North Vietnam, the United State
participated heavily in the war because of the Gulf of Tonkin s Resolution. In the Gulf of Tonkin, the
United States s ship, Maddox, was being attacked by the North Vietnamese. In response to this,
Congress and the House of Representatives passed the Gulf of Tonkin s Resolution. It allowed the
President to combat communism in any way he felt would be appropriate for the situation. (2) In the

Functions Of An Efficient Portfolio
A. Portfolio; feasible set; efficient portfolio; efficient frontier
A portfolio is a group of financial assets, differing in possible risk and return, and is managed by an
investor or a group of professionals. Generally, a higher return expected by a portfolio owner
generates a higher risk as well, and vice versa. The mix of financial assets can range, and these can
include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and cash equivalents. Stocks are considered the most volatile of
these options and thus generate the highest return/highest risk, with bonds being one of the safer
options, which only generate a low return/low risk.
A feasible set of portfolios refers to the possible combinations of financial assets that an investor can
have, according to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast to portfolios with less diversification, which tend to be sub optimal and below the curve,
the efficient frontier curve outlines diversified portfolios that are optimal. This is depicted by the
graph attached.
{See Graph 1}
As outlined in the example diagram provided by YoungResearch, the efficient frontier adequately
demonstrates the impact of diversification, showing how it is a factor in determining the curve s
optimal portfolios, determined by the amounts of risk (measured by standard deviation of annual
returns) and return (average of annual returns). For example, a portfolio with only 100% stocks would
generate a large return of 12.5%, though also a large risk of 17%. This is the opposite to a portfolio of
100% bonds, where the return would be smaller at 9%, though with significantly less risk at
approximately 9%. Consider the bundle with 10% risk and 10.75% return, which is the one composed
of 50% stocks and 50% bonds. This may be viewed as a more favorable option for the investor, as
return is higher than a portfolio with only bonds, though with less risk, compared to a portfolio with
only stocks.
{See Graph 2}
B. Indifference curve; optimal portfolio
Indifference curves represent the utility the consumer would obtain as a function of certain variables.
In portfolio theory, this would mean utility as a function of both expected returns and standard

Rupert Brookes Dulce Et Decorum Est
World War 1 was known as the Great War. Many soldiers fought and many soldiers died. In the soldier
by Rupert Brookes he tries to influence the reader into thinking that going to war is a good thing,
whereas in Dulce et Decorum Est, Wilfred Owens describes war as what it really is. Fear, and horror.
He tries to influence the reader that war is not a good thing and it s not worth risking your life for. In
this essay I will argue how both Brookes and Owens did very good jobs of influencing peoples
opinions on the Great War. Rupert Brookes portrays war as being a great service to your family and
country. He implies that even if you die, you will live on both in the real world and the afterlife. This
is shown in the quote Washed by the rivers, blest by the suns of home . This seems to describes a sort
baptism almost. It s as if you re being reborn into the afterlife, a new man. This would ve appealed to
many men back when it was published as most people were religious in some way or another. The fact

The Gunslinger Chapter Summary
The Gunslinger is a very unique novel to read. There are times of grief, anger, sorrow, action, etc.
throughout the story. The setting of the story is also very confusing. The story takes place in a sort of
post apocalyptic time where everything is sand and desert, but it is later revealed that there are other
worlds. This story follows the journey of the gunslinger as he travels through harsh environments,
trying to catch the man in black. The novel begins with the gunslinger moving through the desert, hot
on the man in black s tracks. He then comes across an old farm. The farm is occupied by the farmer,
Brown, and his bird, Zoltan. The gunslinger decides to stop there for the night. During dinner time,

exit of the tunnels, but Jake trips and falls. Jake was hanging from the tracks when the man in black
showed up. The man in black told the gunslinger that if he helped the Jake then he would never catch
him, but if he leaves Jake there, then he would catch him. The gunslinger makes a hard choice, but
decides to leave Jake there hanging. Jake soon released his grip and fell to his death. The gunslinger
finds the man in black in a place called Golgotha. The man in black reads the gunslingers fate from
tarot cards. A lot is discussed between the two. The man in black says that he is only a pawn for the
real enemy. The man in black tries to persuade the gunslinger to stop his quest by showing him how
insignificant he is. He doesn t believe that, but is then forced into a deep sleep. When he wakes, ten

Tech. Project aims at introducing biometric capable technology for use in automating the entire
attendance system for the students pursuing courses at an educational institute. The goal can be
disintegrated into finer sub targets; fingerprint capture transfer, fingerprint image processing and
wireless transfer of data in a server client system. For each sub task, various methods from literature
are analyzed. From the study of the entire process, an integrated approach is proposed.
Biometrics based technologies are supposed to be very efficient personal identifiers as they can keep
track of characteristics believed to be unique to each person. Among these technologies, Fingerprint
recognition is universally applied. It extracts minutia based features from scanned images of
fingerprints made by the different ridges on the fingertips.
The student attendance system is very relevant in an institute like ours since it aims at eliminating all
the hassles of roll calling and malpractice and promises a full proof as well as reliable technique of
keeping records of student s attendance.

Antitrust Law Of A Business Context
Investigate Antitrust Law in a Business Context THOMAS R. WADE Northcentral University
Investigate Antitrust Law in a Business Context There are a number of steps involved in the property
title process. However, this has changed over the years due legislation such as the land protection act,
introduced in the 1900s. Still, many of the original process steps are used today it requires detail
gathering and documenting information. Nevertheless in the first step is the initial request for a title.
Many times, it has performed out without involving and buyer Black (2001). However, this step
perhaps identified as a task that records the land in its present state. Secondly, an on site examination
then performed. The steps are compiled in a detail report that reports on the legal property name,
location and any tax information related to the property in question (Black, 2001) The report is then
developed with information from several sources: hard copies, digital resources, most of which
retrieved from recorded documents, usually stored in secured and unsecured facilities. In the wake of
the technology boom, information gathering has become as easy as a click of a mouse. Technology has
enabled organizations to complete, organized and detail services of properties without having to leave
the office. Technology has even made it possible to identify the property via satellite, ensuring the
location, mapping data with each component, therefore making it easy, and positively identify

Essay about The Countdown to Humiliation Day in Canada
The Countdown to Humiliation Day
What began as a shortage in the Canadian labour market ended with one of the most revolting and
atrocious displays of prejudice and discrimination against an entire country and culture of people. The
events leading up to Humiliation Day brought forth a legalized intolerance that would leave an
inescapable bruise on Canadian history.
South Asians have long since endured the brunt of intense prejudice at the hands of Canadians and the
Canadian government. A most prevalent discrimination against the Chinese was seen in Western
Canada, mainly British Columbia. In the mid 1800s, it was the general consensus among Canadians
that South Asians could not become part of mainstream culture, nor did they belong ... Show more

They were despised and looked down upon by white Canadian workers. They were treated unfairly
and given little to no recognition for their work or contributions to the project. They were grossly
underpaid, receiving only half of the wage to that of their white counterparts and they were not in
receipt of any type of social benefits.
The Canadian Pacific Railways saw its completion in November of 1885 as the last spike was driven
in at Craigellachie, British Columbia. As domestic labourers and union confederates saw the end of
the project drawing near they began to become outraged at the outsourcing of jobs once they reckoned
that the extraneous work was over and the Chinese were no longer need. Workers rallied to have the
Chinese removed from Canada and to limit future immigration.
Provincial and federal governments were met with pressures to control and discourage the flow of the
Chinese and they responded on July 20, 1885 with the implementation of the Chinese Immigration
Act. This Act imposed a $50 head tax that each Chinese person was forced pay in order to gain entry
into Canada. Restrictions were also placed on Canadian citizens that were of Chinese descent. They
were forced to pay a fee of fifty cents to register their status with local authorities and their travel was
controlled and monitored by government officials. Small concessions were granted to a select few,

The Culture Of China Has Deeply Ingrained
The culture of China has deeply engrained commitment to learning its citizenry by placing high
meaning on book learning and formal education than other civilizations. Education in china was
placed as a path to government career since they were determined to bureaucratic appointment, a path
to prestige and authority by eligible men of humble birth to rise to the top. This is unlike the US
because leaders wished to develop well rounded citizens but there were others who advocated for
more practical goals of learning modern science and technology to reform the country in countering
western imperialism (Mohrman, Geng, Wang, 2011). Attaining the status of a Professor one must
sustain a distinguished track record of scholarly achievement within one university and academic
discipline to be promoted from an associate professor. The position of professor is usually tenured but
not for private and church affiliated institutions (BISO, 2010). The status of a professor is the highest
of the standard academic ranks with advancement past the rank of professor involves administrative
duties. There is no mandatory retirement age in this occupation and full professor in the US is around
55 years with only few people attains the position before attaining that age. Full professor earn on
average 70% more than the associate professor in the same institution but those in private institutions
earn less (Kim, 2012). Promotion of professors comes with increased administrative responsibilities

As you get older the function of your lungs started to deteriorate, it reduces the way that you inflate

obstruct it more.
When you reach the age of 30 about 1 square foot of respiratory membrane (where lots of cells are and
where gas exchange takes place) is lost each year. Although it will be depended on the influences of
smoking, alcohol etc.
The respiratory deals with stress by breathing harder, when you breath slower it can really help with
the overall level of your stress. It is much harder when people suffer from Asthma and various
conditions as it is harder for them to produce the air.
Exercise like going for a nice walk it will get rid of muscle tension and help you breathe easier, it also
helps fluid movement and once again deepens your breathing. Yoga is another exercise that is perfect

The Situation Between Latvia And Russia During World War...
The situation between Latvia, Germany, and Russia during World War II was complex and that
complexity left many Latvians vulnerable to Stalinist repression when the Soviet government first
ordered deportations in 1941 and when deportations began again when Soviet occupation of Latvia
returned in the October of 1944. With the signing of the German Soviet Non aggression Pact in 1939,
the Soviet Union gained a sphere of influence over west Poland and the Baltic States. On June 16th,
1940, the Latvian government received an ultimatum from the Soviet government. The Soviet
government instructed them to form a new government that would comply with the implementation a
Soviet Latvian mutual assistance pact and to allow the Red Army unrestricted entry and movement
throughout Latvia or have it done so by force. The following day, June 17th, the Red Army entered
Riga, the capital and the Latvian government was dissolved.
The Soviet government became concerned with resistance to their occupation of Latvia during the
spring of 1941. In May 1941, Beria agreed with Stalin on a draft decree of the Council of People s
Commissars and the Communist Party and the Communist Party Central Committee On taking action
on cleansing the Lithuanian SSR of anti Soviet, criminal and socially dangerous elements (the Latvian
and Estonian Republics were added to Lithuania at this stage of coordination. With this decree, the

In her essay she relates the rise of feminist consciousness in the 1960s to numerous changes in
American society, especially the rise of other protest movements. Echols said, On September 7, 1968,
the sixties came to that most apple pie of American institutions, the Miss America Pageant (Echols,
308). The reason she said this was because one hundred women s liberation activists descended upon
Atlantic City to protest the pageant s promotion of physical attractiveness as the primary measure of
women s worth. From there, the protestors set up a Freedom Trash Can and filled it with high heeled
shoes, bras, girdles, hair curlers, false eyelashes, typing books, and representative copies of
Cosmopolitan, Playboy, and Ladies Home Journal. They wanted to burn the contents but couldn t

overview of how to obtain your Federal Firearms Licenses, the reading did hit several key points. You

Both are considered long guns because they are shot from the shoulder and held with two hands. One
of the major differences between the two is the barrel. On a rifle the barrel has a thicker wall with a
smaller bore and rifling. Rifling is a thin grove or ridges inside the bore to give a spin on the
projectile, which increases accuracy and distance. Shotgun has a thinner wall with a smooth bore.
Specialty shotguns may have a choke in the bore, which adds a narrowing about 1½ inch from the end
of barrel, to control the shot as it leaves. Another option for a choke is a screw on choke. When using
a screw on choke one must be cautious about using the correct threaded choke, such as a Remington
choke with a Remington barrel. A second difference is rifles use a cartridge and shotgun uses shells.
Cartridges are measured in calibers and shells are measured in gages, except .410gage, which is
acutely a caliber and would be equivalent to 68gage. Both rifles and shotguns have different types

Analysis Of A Sound Of Thunder
Have you ever forgot to turn your homework in. Then you think your not gonna get good grades in
high school, later you won t get into a good college, next you won t get a good job and your life will
be miserable. I know I have. Ray Bradbury s short story A Sound of Thunder takes place in the past
when dinosaurs existed. Travis, the instructor, takes Eckles through a time machine so Eckels can feel
what it s like to kill a dinosaur. They don t belong in the past so there is a path that they all have to
stay on so they don t mess up the future. Disregarding the instructions, Eckels accidentally steps off
the path and squishes a butterfly which changes many things in the future. An important theme in this
story is that the smallest actions can lead to great consequences. This can be proven by Eckels
stepping on the butterfly, the language changing and the president changing in the present time, and
Travis explaining the butterfly effect. After killing the dinosaur in the past, Eckels steps off the path
and squishes a butterfly. When they get back to the present day, many things changed because of that
one small action.
He held up a clot of dirt, trembling, No, it can t be. Not a little thing like that. No! (Bradbury.
lines 316 317) This quote explains how stepping on the butterfly can make such a big impact as the
years go on. The dead butterfly represents the small action and later on, in the story, they realize there

Defense In Football
Every Defense in football is different, but there are some parallels no matter how unique a defense is.
Every defense has a defensive front, different coverages, unique blitzes, and they all have the same
positions. Defense is what gives a team an edge. It is the difference in a good team and a great team. A
good defense keeps the opposing team s offense off of the field, limiting their chances to score. While
doing so, they are increasing their chances to score by keeping their team s offense on the field as
much as possible.
The foundation of every defense is the defensive front. The front refers to where each position is when
lined up. The seven most common fronts are the 4 3, the 3 4, the 4 4, the 5 2, the 5 3, the 6 2, the Goal
Line Defense. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The answer was the zone blitz. we were able to rush five guys and cover with six. That s what you
need to run a zone blitz. Bill Arnsparger. The 1980 s really set the tone for the defenses we see in the
NFL today. The 1980 s is when the short passing game started to become very popular among the
upper levels of football. Before this, football was all about power, ball control offenses. As a result,
that is what defenses were used to defending. As short precision passing offenses became more and
more popular, defenses need an answer to stop these offenses. The answer was the zone blitz. The
zone blitz allows five men to rush the quarter back, attempting to disrupt the quarterback. If that fails,
the defense still has six men in coverage. The zone blitz is still very popular in the NFL

The Glass Steagall Act
Despite its humble beginnings in 1844 as a simple general store turned financial firm, the Lehman
Brothers greed drove their firm into the ground. It seemed as if Lehman Brothers was indestructible.
Surviving through the railroad bankruptcies in the 1800 s, the Great Depression of the 1930 s, two
world wars, a capital shortage in 1994, and everything in between, it seemed the firm was built to last.
However its inevitable end started in the early 2000 s with the housing boom after the repeal of the
Glass Steagall act.
Over the span of two years, 2003 and 2004, Lehman Brothers acquired a total of five mortgage
lenders, including the subprime lender BNC and Alt A loan specialist Aurora Loan. As the housing
boom was under way and the firm acquired these large players its Lehman real estate business s
capital market revenues cascaded 56% over the next two years 2004 to 2006. It was a faster rate of
growth than other businesses in investment banking or asset management. (Investopedia) Increasing
its revenues by 10% from 2005 to 2006 when they securitized $146 billion worth of mortgages. It
went from just being a player in the financial industry to the top dog in the matter of a few short years.
Consistently reporting the setting of new profit records year after year. In 2007 its net income record
was $4.2 billion on revenue of $19.3 billion. (Investopedia) At the same time, in February of 2007,
Lehman Brothers stock had hit its record too at $86.18 a share leaving them with

The Death Of Socrates Resides
The Death of Socrates resides in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is by Jacques Louis David, a
French painter from the eighteenth century. This particular piece was done in 1787 about an event that
occurred 399 BC. Socrates was faced with a legal decision to renounce his teachings or drink a cup of
hemlock, killing himself. Socrates s teachings were hugely influential in Greece at that time and it
sparked recognizable change in Athens particularly. Athenian authority saw his revolutionary thought
as a threat and because of his teaching he refused to renounce his teaching. Even without this knowing
the dramatic story of the great thinker and his demise, David s piece is profoundly striking. The
movement and placement of each character as well as the balance of shape and color provide a certain
attraction to this piece. Additionally, it provides a great example of the intriguing cross between art
and The Academy. David intelligently pays tribute to the height and power of ancient philosophy as
well as modern art and this marriage makes for a greatly impactful piece of art. At first impression, the
movement and layout are the most arresting part of this piece. Socrates, propped up on his deathbed,
appears strong and stoic but at the same time somber and delicate. The anatomic accuracy of Socrates
as well as the other characters provides a geometric structure. Whereas the light suspension of the
different fabrics in the painting provide a soft fluidity and these two

Comparing Crime And Punishment And Raskolnikov s Crime
Rodion Raskolnikov and Sonya Marmeladova: like so many other pairs in the history of literature,
these two characters in Crime and Punishment act as two sides to a coin: one of them representing
purity, light, the goodness of humans, while the other wallowing in conflict and guilt. Though both
commit crimes, their intent behind them and their corresponding reactions are what separates them
and, consequently, saves them. Sonya s piety and virtue relieves Raskolnikov of his suffering and in
turn, demonstrates the importance of such qualities, and the significance of emotion to the us as
humans. Raskolnikov is a murderer; Sonya is a sex worker. This connects the two Raskolnikov and
Sonya are kin by circumstance, as they did not even have to

What Is Anime In America
The Sophistication of Anime In America
Japanese animation, called anime for short, landed its first major hit in America with an animation
called Astro Boy. This animation was black and white and was created just like any other animated
film would have been at that time, hand drawn and taken frame by frame. Now however, current
anime has surpassed its predecessors and is full of colorful characters and backgrounds that are
appealing to the eye. Anime has also grown beyond targeting children and is now more targeted
towards viewers with double digit ages and triple digit IQ s or young and old adults, as stated by
Patrick Drazen, author of the book Anime Explosion!: The What? Why? Wow! Of Japanese
Animation. Even so, people still consider ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acting as a base manga paves a way for anime to flourish into society and also acts as a guide for an
anime s storyline. However, anime doesn t just depend on manga; manga also depends on anime.
Patrick Drazen, author of the book Anime Explosion! agrees with Chambers on the fact that many
Japanese anime begin life as comic books, and even goes on to say, This has several advantages,
including the goodwill and familiarity of an audience that already knows and cares about the
characters. It also enables the viewer who is familiar with the manga story to fill in the blanks as they
see the counterpart anime (Drazen). Chambers also approaches anime as a completely different subject
addressing how anime and manga are two completely different art forms. This view can be true with
new technologies emerging around the world, and the method of making hand drawn anime being
replaced by other methods such as CG (computer graphics). An article written by The Associated
Press details small interviews with people in Anaheim s Anime Expo, which is considered the largest
convention of anime and manga in American. Here, Oliver, an anime director from Los Angeles, states
that, CG is becoming increasingly less expensive to do, and mass produce (The Associated Press).
Also taking a stance on the difference between anime and manga The Associated Press addresses how
unlike hand drawn anime, CG features ultra realistic, fluid movements and seamless shadows and
light. With new methods replacing the old it is very viable to say that anime has deviated a small
portion from its original hand drawing method. In fact, this deviation is enhancing the features of new
anime and, is creating a more realistic and sophisticated animation

Globalism And The Growth Of Income Disparity
Globalism and the Growth of Income Disparity
Globalism and the Growth of Income Disparity
Globalism refers to connectedness and communication networks that span continents and bring the
world s people closer together, and globalization refers to how globalism increases or decreases.
Digital technology has increased globalism, global marketing and business opportunities, but this
growth doesn t mean that everyone gets a share of the wealth. There has been a growing gap between
the richest and poorest people that only seems to increase as globalism generates more opportunities.
The top fifth of U.S. households, for example, own 84 percent of the nation s wealth while the bottom
two fifths only own 0.3 percent of the country s wealth according to the a href=
http://www.economist.com/blogs/economist explains/2014/09/economist explains 0 Economist.com. A
Scalar.USC.edu study found that incomes for the richest 1 percent tripled between 1979 and 2007
while median income households only earned 25 percent more in the same period, and most of that
increase was due to labor force increases and people working longer hours.
Income Disparity Between Poor and Rich Has Grown Steadily Under Globalization
People persist with many misconceptions and seem to prefer rags to riches success stories over the
hard facts that the disparity between the haves and have nots continues to increase. These
misconceptions include:
Globalism makes things fairer for everybody.

Essay about Anti-Obesity Effects of Polyunsaturated Fatty...
Anti obesity effects of polyunsaturated fatty acids
Introduction
In recent years, obesity has become a significant health problem in industrialized countries such as the
United States. Obesity is strongly associated with increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes
mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, coronary heart disease, and congestive heart failure. The World
Health Organization has defined obesity as one of the top ten global health problems. High fat diets
containing large amounts of saturated fat and low amounts of unsaturated fat, may directly increase
the prevalence of obesity (Li, 2008). Research studies have suggested that polyunsaturated fatty acids
have an influence on body adiposity, and may exert anti obesity effects ... Show more content on

These fish oils are not produced in humans, but are not considered essential; although they take part in
important functions such as in cell membranes, gene interactions, and others (Williams, 2009). For
example, omega 3 fatty acid supplementation containing DHA has been observed to lessen the
inflammatory component of several chronic diseases (Browning 2003; Calder 2006). The
cardioprotective effects of supplementing DHA and EPA are well documented; they have been shown
to reduce total serum triacylglycerol concentrations, blood pressure, platelet aggregation, and
inflammation (Breslow 2006; Richter 2003).
Far fewer studies have focused on the anti obesity effects of DHA and EPA. However, these studies
have reported enhanced lipid oxidation, increased thermogenesis, prevention of free fatty acids from
entering adipocytes for lipogenesis, as well as other potential anti obesity effects (Li, 2008).
Underlying Mechanisms of Anti Obesity Effects of PUFA
PUFA decrease energy intake and/or increase energy expenditure
The body s ability to maintain a balance between energy intake and output is controlled by multiple
complex systems and imbalance of this system leads to metabolic symptoms such as obesity. Obesity
normally occurs when energy intake exceeds energy output (Hanbauer et al 2009). It has been shown
that overtime appetite is stimulated when there is a decrease in the circulating level of fat metabolizing
products. An individual s

Theme Of Resistance In A Passage To India
Oppression represented in forced labor and land occupation leads to revolutionary culture movement.
The study is concerned with anti colonial form of resistance as it is tackles the idea of resistance from
an Indian culture perspective at the 20th Century.
Resistance literature generally tackles the idea of resisting different kinds of oppression, which can be
colonial, racial or gender oppression. That is why different ways of oppression have caused
revolutionary resistance, which can be portrayed better through writing rather than through armed
resistance. This was the early 1920s, during a really tumultuous period when the Indian independence
movement had begun to come to a head, this came right on the heels of Mahatma Gandhi s nonviolent
resistance movement that advocated for unity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The discussion between two Muslim men about the possibility of friendship with any English people
starts our familiarity with the characters of the book. A Passage to India is essentially a psychological
novel that centers round more or less the Aziz Fielding relationship. The relationship, though frank
and hearty at the initial stage, proved to be very much complex later, since the temperaments of the
two are basically different. Seemingly Fielding, as portrayed in the novel, is a believer in universalism
having a craving for friendship with human in general whether Aziz is a staunch disciple of Islam.
Moreover he rears the strongest form of nationalism in him that prevents the growth of universalism
even to some extent.
Fielding representing the ruler class to Dr. Aziz who has to suffer insult and harassment repeatedly in
spite of his efficiency as a doctor and a well mannered person cannot be expected to get the warmth of
friendship for long. It is also because Aziz believes that a long lasting friendship can be possible only
if the two are equal racially, socially and

According to National Restaurant Association, the United States of America s culinary industry sales are expected to hit a record high of $709.2 billion in 2015 in which will represent the sixth consecutive year of the growth in the culinary industry (National Restaurant Association, 2015). • 3. The Effects Of Slavery On American South And Its Entire... Between 1800 and 1865, slaves lived in the Southern States and worked in the tobacco, wheat, rice, corn and cotton plantations. Essentially, slavery was an economic institution with far reaching benefits to slaveholders, since the value of slave labor was considerably more than the cost of their maintenance. Demands for democratization, respect for human dignity and American Civil War presented a major turning point in the institution of slavery as farmers turned to lesser labor intensive production methods such as the use of Eli Whitney s Cotton Gin. This paper analyzes different ways in which institution of Slavery affected the development of American South between 1800 1865, and the lives of people living in the region. In doing so the paper considers economic, political, social and cultural implications of the institution. Although slaves and slaveholders were significantly different, the Institution of Slavery negatively impacted the American South and its entire population. Economic Effects Prevalence of a less diversified southern economic approach was a condition that negatively impacted the economic progress. With cheap labor from slaves, the South prevalently practiced agriculture at the expense of market economies. While significant in farming, slave labor made farmers more complacent in agricultural production. The situation inevitably led to reluctance in establishing sustainable trade networks with other States in the North. As Wright (2006) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. New Hampshire Visit My mother held the reason for the family s New Hampshire visit, two tickets to a race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. While my parents attended the race in the sweltering heat, my sister, Catlyn, and I had the entire day to ourselves. We didn t have much of a plan besides spending the day without our parents. Catlyn and I agreed to explore the area around Hampton, starting near our hotel. We found a pamphlet for a group of outlet stores. Upon further inspection of the pamphlet, we realized that outlets were in Maine. This fact had confused us. To our knowledge New Hampshire and Maine seemed too far for a day s drive. When we found directions on our phones we noticed that it would only take twenty minutes. Wait, so it only takes twenty minutes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We still had plenty of time in the day to get to Kittery, so Catlyn and I set off for Maine. As our parents didn t have the pleasure of knowing that we decided to drive to Maine, we thoughtfully sent them a picture of the Welcome to Maine sign, leaving them to question why we left the state. We arrived at Kittery sometime near noon. After walking around in the summer heat, we stopped at a Bose factory store. The moment we walked into the store we fell under a trance to try on every single pair of headphones. Ooh, noise cancelling, my sister said with a sarcastic tone. We compared pairs of headphones and enjoyed the cool air conditioning. We had to pick up every pair and check, possibly double check, the cushions and the way the headphones felt when we wore them. The time spent in the Bose store was well needed as the air conditioning was perfectly set to cool us during the warm day. After our folly in the store we decided to check the rest of the outlet stores to possibly find more nonsensical things to mess around with. We stopped into a store called Brookstone after. This store is known for its odd gadgets and assortment of massage chairs. This store didn t interest us as much because everything interesting was not out on display, but instead stuck inside a ... • 7. Functions Of An Efficient Portfolio A. Portfolio; feasible set; efficient portfolio; efficient frontier A portfolio is a group of financial assets, differing in possible risk and return, and is managed by an investor or a group of professionals. Generally, a higher return expected by a portfolio owner generates a higher risk as well, and vice versa. The mix of financial assets can range, and these can include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and cash equivalents. Stocks are considered the most volatile of these options and thus generate the highest return/highest risk, with bonds being one of the safer options, which only generate a low return/low risk. In contrast to portfolios with less diversification, which tend to be sub optimal and below the curve, the efficient frontier curve outlines diversified portfolios that are optimal. This is depicted by the graph attached. {See Graph 1} As outlined in the example diagram provided by YoungResearch, the efficient frontier adequately demonstrates the impact of diversification, showing how it is a factor in determining the curve s optimal portfolios, determined by the amounts of risk (measured by standard deviation of annual returns) and return (average of annual returns). For example, a portfolio with only 100% stocks would generate a large return of 12.5%, though also a large risk of 17%. This is the opposite to a portfolio of 100% bonds, where the return would be smaller at 9%, though with significantly less risk at approximately 9%. Consider the bundle with 10% risk and 10.75% return, which is the one composed of 50% stocks and 50% bonds. This may be viewed as a more favorable option for the investor, as return is higher than a portfolio with only bonds, though with less risk, compared to a portfolio with only stocks. {See Graph 2} B. Indifference curve; optimal portfolio Indifference curves represent the utility the consumer would obtain as a function of certain variables. In portfolio theory, this would mean utility as a function of both expected returns and standard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Rupert Brookes Dulce Et Decorum Est World War 1 was known as the Great War. Many soldiers fought and many soldiers died. In the soldier by Rupert Brookes he tries to influence the reader into thinking that going to war is a good thing, whereas in Dulce et Decorum Est, Wilfred Owens describes war as what it really is. Fear, and horror. He tries to influence the reader that war is not a good thing and it s not worth risking your life for. In this essay I will argue how both Brookes and Owens did very good jobs of influencing peoples opinions on the Great War. Rupert Brookes portrays war as being a great service to your family and country. He implies that even if you die, you will live on both in the real world and the afterlife. This is shown in the quote Washed by the rivers, blest by the suns of home . This seems to describes a sort baptism almost. It s as if you re being reborn into the afterlife, a new man. Still, many of the original process steps are used today it requires detail gathering and documenting information. Nevertheless in the first step is the initial request for a title. Many times, it has performed out without involving and buyer Black (2001). However, this step perhaps identified as a task that records the land in its present state. Secondly, an on site examination then performed. The steps are compiled in a detail report that reports on the legal property name, location and any tax information related to the property in question (Black, 2001) The report is then developed with information from several sources: hard copies, digital resources, most of which retrieved from recorded documents, usually stored in secured and unsecured facilities. South Asians have long since endured the brunt of intense prejudice at the hands of Canadians and the Canadian government. They were despised and looked down upon by white Canadian workers. They were treated unfairly and given little to no recognition for their work or contributions to the project. They were grossly underpaid, receiving only half of the wage to that of their white counterparts and they were not in receipt of any type of social benefits. The Canadian Pacific Railways saw its completion in November of 1885 as the last spike was driven in at Craigellachie, British Columbia. As domestic labourers and union confederates saw the end of the project drawing near they began to become outraged at the outsourcing of jobs once they reckoned that the extraneous work was over and the Chinese were no longer need. Workers rallied to have the Chinese removed from Canada and to limit future immigration. Provincial and federal governments were met with pressures to control and discourage the flow of the Chinese and they responded on July 20, 1885 with the implementation of the Chinese Immigration Act. This Act imposed a $50 head tax that each Chinese person was forced pay in order to gain entry into Canada. Restrictions were also placed on Canadian citizens that were of Chinese descent. The Culture Of China Has Deeply Ingrained The culture of China has deeply engrained commitment to learning its citizenry by placing high meaning on book learning and formal education than other civilizations. Education in china was placed as a path to government career since they were determined to bureaucratic appointment, a path to prestige and authority by eligible men of humble birth to rise to the top. This is unlike the US because leaders wished to develop well rounded citizens but there were others who advocated for more practical goals of learning modern science and technology to reform the country in countering western imperialism (Mohrman, Geng, Wang, 2011). • 16. The Situation Between Latvia And Russia During World War... The situation between Latvia, Germany, and Russia during World War II was complex and that complexity left many Latvians vulnerable to Stalinist repression when the Soviet government first ordered deportations in 1941 and when deportations began again when Soviet occupation of Latvia returned in the October of 1944. With the signing of the German Soviet Non aggression Pact in 1939, the Soviet Union gained a sphere of influence over west Poland and the Baltic States. On June 16th, 1940, the Latvian government received an ultimatum from the Soviet government. The Soviet government instructed them to form a new government that would comply with the implementation a Soviet Latvian mutual assistance pact and to allow the Red Army unrestricted entry and movement throughout Latvia or have it done so by force. Gender, Ideology, and Historical Change: Explaining the Women s Movement was a great chapter because it explained and analyzed the change and causes of the women s movement. Elaine Tyler May s essay, Cold War Ideology and the Rise of Feminism and Women s Liberation and Sixties Radicalism by Alice Echols both gave important but different opinions and ideas about the women s movement. Echols said, On September 7, 1968, the sixties came to that most apple pie of American institutions, the Miss America Pageant (Echols, 308). The reason she said this was because one hundred women s liberation activists descended upon Atlantic City to protest the pageant s promotion of physical attractiveness as the primary measure of women s worth. From there, the protestors set up a Freedom Trash Can and filled it with high heeled shoes, bras, girdles, hair curlers, false eyelashes, typing books, and representative copies of Cosmopolitan, Playboy, and Ladies Home Journal. They wanted to burn the contents but couldn t because of the laws for bonfires on the boardwalk. Also, word had been leaked to the press that there would be a symbolic bra burning. However, there were no bras burnt that day. But the image of the bra burning, militant feminists remains part of our popular mythology about the women s liberation movement. The Miss America demonstration represents an important moment in the history of the sixties as well as the women s movement (Echols, 309 310). Both are considered long guns because they are shot from the shoulder and held with two hands. One of the major differences between the two is the barrel. On a rifle the barrel has a thicker wall with a smaller bore and rifling. Rifling is a thin grove or ridges inside the bore to give a spin on the projectile, which increases accuracy and distance. Shotgun has a thinner wall with a smooth bore. Specialty shotguns may have a choke in the bore, which adds a narrowing about 1½ inch from the end of barrel, to control the shot as it leaves. Another option for a choke is a screw on choke. When using a screw on choke one must be cautious about using the correct threaded choke, such as a Remington choke with a Remington barrel. A second difference is rifles use a cartridge and shotgun uses shells. Cartridges are measured in calibers and shells are measured in gages, except .410gage, which is acutely a caliber and would be equivalent to 68gage. Then you think your not gonna get good grades in high school, later you won t get into a good college, next you won t get a good job and your life will be miserable. I know I have. Ray Bradbury s short story A Sound of Thunder takes place in the past when dinosaurs existed. Travis, the instructor, takes Eckles through a time machine so Eckels can feel what it s like to kill a dinosaur. They don t belong in the past so there is a path that they all have to stay on so they don t mess up the future. Disregarding the instructions, Eckels accidentally steps off the path and squishes a butterfly which changes many things in the future. An important theme in this story is that the smallest actions can lead to great consequences. This can be proven by Eckels stepping on the butterfly, the language changing and the president changing in the present time, and Travis explaining the butterfly effect. After killing the dinosaur in the past, Eckels steps off the path and squishes a butterfly. When they get back to the present day, many things changed because of that one small action. He held up a clot of dirt, trembling, No, it can t be. Not a little thing like that. No! (Bradbury. lines 316 317) This quote explains how stepping on the butterfly can make such a big impact as the years go on. • 25. The Death Of Socrates Resides The Death of Socrates resides in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is by Jacques Louis David, a French painter from the eighteenth century. This particular piece was done in 1787 about an event that occurred 399 BC. Socrates was faced with a legal decision to renounce his teachings or drink a cup of hemlock, killing himself. Socrates s teachings were hugely influential in Greece at that time and it sparked recognizable change in Athens particularly. Athenian authority saw his revolutionary thought as a threat and because of his teaching he refused to renounce his teaching. Even without this knowing the dramatic story of the great thinker and his demise, David s piece is profoundly striking. The movement and placement of each character as well as the balance of shape and color provide a certain attraction to this piece. Additionally, it provides a great example of the intriguing cross between art and The Academy. David intelligently pays tribute to the height and power of ancient philosophy as well as modern art and this marriage makes for a greatly impactful piece of art. At first impression, the movement and layout are the most arresting part of this piece. Socrates, propped up on his deathbed, appears strong and stoic but at the same time somber and delicate. The anatomic accuracy of Socrates as well as the other characters provides a geometric structure. Whereas the light suspension of the different fabrics in the painting provide a soft fluidity and these two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Acting as a base manga paves a way for anime to flourish into society and also acts as a guide for an anime s storyline. However, anime doesn t just depend on manga; manga also depends on anime. It also enables the viewer who is familiar with the manga story to fill in the blanks as they see the counterpart anime (Drazen). Chambers also approaches anime as a completely different subject addressing how anime and manga are two completely different art forms. This view can be true with new technologies emerging around the world, and the method of making hand drawn anime being replaced by other methods such as CG (computer graphics). An article written by The Associated Press details small interviews with people in Anaheim s Anime Expo, which is considered the largest convention of anime and manga in American. Here, Oliver, an anime director from Los Angeles, states that, CG is becoming increasingly less expensive to do, and mass produce (The Associated Press). Also taking a stance on the difference between anime and manga The Associated Press addresses how unlike hand drawn anime, CG features ultra realistic, fluid movements and seamless shadows and light.
