3. Persuasive Essay On The Process Of Bathing Your Cat
While cats become aggressive when wet, general grooming is required to help keep your cat s skin
and fur in healthy peak condition because regular grooming keeps their coats clean and skin healthy.
many kittens are not able to keep themselves completely clean despite their natural grooming instincts
and their coats become greasy .Overweight cats have a harder time reaching the fur on their back, so it
is often matted and dry, which can lead to infections.
The first step to bathing your cat is to have the area where the bathing is to take place in the best order
it can be. This can mean just tidying up or moving unnecessary objects out of the way. The area where
you decide to bathe your cat should be taken into thought. Bathtubs work the best, but if you do not
own one your kitchen or bathroom sink can also work. The water you use to bathe your cat should be
at least three inches in height, and luke warm so not to scold the cat, but not cold because then the
animal might go into shock. When choosing your soap you need to be careful of what you use and to
only use shampoo formulated for the use of cats or non toxic dish soaps like Dawn. You should keep a
towel at hand at all times while bathing your cat. When rinsing your cat you can use a large bowl or a
cup to pour clean water over the animal.
Once you have your bathing area set up, the next step is the actual bathing of the cat, the best way not
to get scratched when giving your cat a bath is to grab it from behind by the

5. Terrorism Is Terrorism
In this modern era, being exposed to many sources of news media, we find out how terrorism is
growing and devastating many parts of the world. Thinking of terrorism, people tend to see images of
intensive war, mass killing, ISIS or 9/11 attack. But what is really terrorism? And how does it happen?
Terrorism is defined as the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, as a
mean to create terror or fear, in the pursuit of political, religious, or ideological aims. This definition
fits the images we see on the news, or in other words, images that are readily available in our mind,
bombings, fire, terror, enduring people, and aggressive terrorist. As availability heuristic is not always
accurate, this general definition also does not tell us the whole picture of the reality and how terrorism
arises.
We usually err to think that terrorists are born evil and destructive, so it is their internal disposition
that rules the actions. For that reason, we underestimate the influence of the situation (religious
conflict, for example). The fundamental attribution error first explains why and how we
misunderstand terrorism.
Most problems of terrorism can be interpreted using social psychology to reveal how people and
individuals interact, relate, and impact each other. It is shocking to realize how similar terroristic
issues are to ordinary thoughts of everyday life, with the only difference that it is taken to the extreme.
The in group bias explains why

6. What Is Edgar Hoover s Role In Criminal Justice
Named by Calvin Coolidge as the sixth director of the Bureau of Investigation, J. Edgar Hoover
quickly rose to greatness. In 1935, he was appointed by U. S. Attorney General Stone as the first
director of the newly conceived F.B.I. For the next 36 years he made all of the rules, declared war on
everything he disliked or that opposed his morals and personal beliefs from Bolshevik radicals to
Martin Luther King, he hindered the progress of the civil rights movement, and used force to eradicate
every suspected communist. While he brought about myriad investigative technology, including
fingerprints, wire tapping, and forensics labs that forever changed the criminal justice system, he also
used the F.B.I. to intimidate celebrities and public figures, harass political activists, and illegally
collect secret files of evidence and scandals against everyone. In truth, Hoover was a malicious and
hypocritical man; under the guise of protecting the American way, his motto was knowledge is power,

10. The Breakdown of Family Life
There is an increasing concern about what some politicians have described as the breakdown of family
life and they have suggested that the only way to fix a broken society is to place more emphasis on
marriage and a return to traditional values.
Examine what are commonly believed to be traditional values .
How far, and for what reasons, do you agree that we are currently witnessing the breakdown of
traditional family life in Britain?

or writer. Since the 1970 s, traditional values have become synonymous with family values and imply

The Archbishop of York used this argument in a piece in the Guardian when referring to the
complementary nature of men and women . However, if this is the case, it is therefore unfair for
heterosexual couples to marry if either is infertile as they cannot pro create either. Arguments based on
the traditional family life will always be insulting to homosexuals as there is no proof they are not
capable of being able to raise children and be good parents regardless of their gender.
According to the Office of National Statistics, more people are living alone, are being raised by single
parents, and an increasing amount of grown up children are still living with their parents than in
previous years. The nuclear family has been described by one expert as a museum piece , emphasising
the fact that it is a part of history now. Figures showed that 30 percent of women under 30 had given
birth by the age of 25, while 24 percent had married, showing having children is more of a first major
milestone to adult life than getting married. These statistics in comparison to 1971 show an extreme
difference: three quarters of women were married by 25, and half had given birth. The statistics also
showed that the number of adults living alone doubled in generation, from 6 percent to 12 percent due
to divorce, death or marrying at a later age. In reference to the above statement, the nature of family
has changed significantly in the past 30 years so the government are correct

12. Milkweed Research Paper
Milkweed in the Garden Common milkweed, asclepia syricia, is favorite choice among monarch
butterflies for host plants to their larvae because of its low toxicity. Because milkweed spreads from
runners deep underground, it needs a lot of surface warmth to trigger growth, so it does best as a first
emergent or in recently mowed fields where light and heat can reach the soil. Because of this,
common milkweed does not perform well in home landscaping. The cool shade offered by broad,
leafy perennials inhibit the germination of milkweed. Since landscaped gardens are not cut back in the
summer, the milkweed does not get the needed sunlight to send up late shoots for the summer and fall
monarch population. I have chosen to include green and purple milkweed for my front gardens.

acres, it is difficult to look at a composting project as practical when it comes to adding different types
of materials. My main pile is in the orchard. The manure is disposed of only a few feet away, but
inaccessible because of fencing. Many sources recommended a compost pile be layers of specific
materials. Brown material, such as dead leaves, shredded newspaper, and dead flowers is the base

Many people have heard of the case Buck versus Bell. This was a land mark supreme court case in
1927. This case basis is eugenics, which is the science of improving a human population by controlled
breeding. Most people today would disagree with this on premise alone. In the case Buck versus Bell
the decision being heard was can doctors sterilize patients that were feeble minded or have epilepsy.
As Carrie s story unfolds you will see not only is feeble minded a broad term She was wronged not
only on the merits of the case, but in the process of justice.
Carrie Buck was placed in a home called Virginia Colony for Epileptics and Feebleminded alongside
her mother. Now at the time there were other states practicing eugenics. This was the first case to
challenge Virginia s 1924 ruling allowing it. Carrie and her mom were labeled feeble minded and
promiscuous. They would later go on to label Carrie daughter Vivian feeble minded also.
Let us take a step back. Carrie was born in Charlottesville Virginia. Her birth took place on July 2,
1906. Her father Frank W. Buck passed away when she was only a young girl. Her mother was
committed, when Carrie was still young. The mother was committed for feeble mindedness. This was
not a medical decision, but the doctor s belief that Carrie was an illegitimate child. Carrie was placed
into foster care at the age of three.

15. The Agent Responsible For Synchronicity
While periods of human thought are invariably brief, lasting only seconds at most, consciousness
maintains a continuous flow, uninterrupted by any shift in thought. This is evident in the persistence of
a unary self when conceptualized at a single moment in time and over a period of time. The agent
responsible for synchronicity is the claustrum, located on the underside of the neocortex. Although the
exact function of the claustrum remains to be verified, connectivity studies have shown that it plays a
vital role in communication between the two hemispheres of the brain, specifically between cortical
regions controlling attention. It is believed that the claustrum acts as a timescale integrator,
synchronizing the two hemispheres, creating a seamless unity of consciousness between hemispherical
processes. Anesthetics such as Propofol affirm the functionality of the claustrum through their
mechanism of action. A state of unconsciousness is induced when the brain s ability to integrate
information is blocked. Anesthetics inhibit the synchrony of the claustrum through potentiation of
gamma amino butyric acid alpha (GABAA).
Psychosis is a symptom of many serious mental disorders characterized by a loss of touch with reality.
The perception of reality is a major component of self awareness. The pathology of psychosis is key to
understanding the neurological agents responsible for aspects of consciousness. Several
neurotransmitter systems are associated with the pharmacological

Michelle Bachelet, president of Chile, is an avid feminist and supports equal rights for both genders,
as well as marriage equality. Bachelet, born in Santiago, is Chile s first female president, being elected
in 2006 and reelected in 2014. Bachelet stood her ground against opposition in women s rights.
Michelle talks of gender equality being a good business because it, in an economical sense, will boost
economy and jobs. Michelle received her surgical degree and college. Michelle wants those who are in
need of abortions to receive them. Bachelet has also passed laws that help those in need of abortions,
receive them. Michelle changed the standard of Chile because before she was elected, gender equality
was almost non existent, abortions were illegal, and job conditions were unacceptable. Bachelet has
moved Chile in a good direction.
Michelle Bachelet was born in Santiago to parents, Alberto Bachelet, a General in the Chilean Air

her father was tortured and excessively interrogated to the extent of him dying in March of 1974, the

COVERAGE DRIVEN VIP FOR AVALON MEMORY MAPPED INTERFACE USING UVM
Abstract:
The verification phase carries an important role in design cycle of a System on Chip (SoC). A
verification environment may be prepared using SystemVerilog without using any particular
methodology but that will be different for every variation of the design. The UVM testbench increases
robustness of functional verification, and allows you to create flexible, adaptable, scalable
testbenches. It offers quantifiable, measurable progress, and changing test sequences can be used to
easily increase code coverage. This project describes the use of coverage driven verification for
Avalon Memory Mapped Interface VIP using UVM methodology. The Avalon bus is a simple bus
architecture which makes the connection between on chip processors and peripherals together into a
SOPC. It is an interface that specifies the port connections between master and slave components, and
also specifies the timing by which these components communicate. Avalon Memory Mapped (Avalon
MM) interfaces can be used to implement read and write interfaces for master and slave components.
In this work all components of testbench has been created to make a VIP. The coverage collected on
mm_cvgrp is 91.6%. The environment used random stimulus which helps in regression to create
different scenarios.

20. Pros And Consequences Of Privatization
What drives the movement for privatization? In the past few decades, countries around the world have
taken action to privatize their services. It is believed that privatization creates markets that allow
companies to compete, and contribute to the economy. The idea is to cede ownership of public
services to the private sector; where competition will drive innovation, and reduce costs for the
government and the taxpayer alike. That being said, in some cases privatization does not create a real
market where competition occurs, or is even feasible. Privatizing these services can deteriorate quality
and increase costs for those who require their use. This way, it is possible to limit a service to those
who can afford them. While privatization can, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As shown in Prisons, Privatization, Patronage by Paul Krugman, privatization can have negative
consequences. These privatized prisons are understaffed and poorly run. There are have been convicts
escaping prison and minor offenders suffering in the hands of other prisoners (Krugman). These
prisons also show very little reduction in costs, as opposed to state funded prisons and the little
savings come from understaffing and underpaying their employees (Krugman). In this case,
privatization was used for the benefit of private companies who are making a profit, as well as the
government who does not have to invest money in prisons. However, this is done at the expense of
those receiving the service.
Moreover, privatization can limit a service to a certain group of people. As argued by Gary Haugen in
The Privatization of Justice , private services can be limited to the wealthy. In many developing
countries police enforcement is sometimes limited. In some areas, people looking to protect
themselves and their property hire their own protection (Haugen). This is great for companies who
now have access to this new market, allowing them to make money and create jobs. However, many
people cannot afford private protection, making justice available only for the

Observation This summer I worked at Camp Cory as a Day Camp Coordinator. This experience came
with many difficulties, one of the positives was working with counselors from other countries,
including Spain, England, Brazil, Colombia, and Scotland. In my opinion, some of my best co
counselors were the international counselors. During the eight weeks I was there, I worked with four
international co counselors to facilitate a day camp group and worked closely with several others.
Working with counselors from other countries, we shared our different values and learned about each
other cultures. Even though we were from different backgrounds, we grew together, learn to work
together despite our differences and became a family together. There were a few challenges that had to
be worked through, one being a language barrier or in many cases an accent barrier. For some of the
international workers, English was not their first language, or if it was, they had an accent that was
difficult to understand. The language and accent barrier created miscommunication and funny
conversations. There are many examples that I could write about, however my favorite and the one
that impacted me the most has to be from week eight. I was working on inventorying the fused beads

a father s love to his child and the desire to avenge his death. However, the own crime he has
committed led to self destruction and some sort of self murder. The character is in ironic position since
he was confronted with the ardent desire to revenge and the guilt that came with it. Anger and
righteousness can be sympathetically felt with the character. Similarly, A Rose for Emily portrays love
as the root cause of the crime. In this story, the father suppressed his daughter s woman life which
eventually led to her killing her lover to find eternal love. The two stories are the same in some aspect
in terms of the theme which revolves on passion and crime. However, the character differs greatly on
the impact of the crime committed by them. In Killings , the character felt guilt and a sort of self
death. The character in A rose for Emily on the other hand, died with no remorse for what she
committed.
The story of Killings by Andre Dubus centers on the theme of vengeance. The lead character, Matt
Fowler, plotted revenge on the young man who killed his son. The act of killing was more of a private
vengeance rather than an act of protection. However, Matt Fowler s act was even motivated by the
desire to protect his wife who suffered tremendously just by seeing the

The intention of this report is to describe my graduation internship period will was held in a company
called Coöperatie DevLab. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to my company supervisor
Mr. Roland van Straten, to my university supervisor Mr. Jeedella Jeedella and to Mr. Lex van Gijsel
for their guidance and support throughout the project.
The report itself follows each step that I have taken in attempt of fulfilling the assignment
requirements. Those requirements were defined and prioritized so I could have an overview on my
tasks instead of looking in general at the project. The intention is to program the firmware of a robot
which will be used to resemble collective algorithm behavior. The end goal of this project is to
implement the company s proprietary wireless communication protocol so self organizing swarm
behavior system can be realized.
The assignment required extensive research on the embedded system involved in the project as well as
on control engineering to implement an algorithm which takes care on the robots proper movement.

26. Career Path Of A Manager
Introduction
Management in all business and different administrations is the way of making staff members get
together to achieve required goals and objectives. For an organisation to run successfully different
sections of the business should be run effectively and there should be a person responsible enough to
run it, who is the manager. The job of a manager is not easy and requires a set of specific skills to
perform the duties. As a trainee manager who is about to take a full management responsibility in near
future, evaluating personal skills and professional skills in order to become capable of achieving
strategic goals is very important. This helps to achieve not only the short term goals but to set and

Task 1: Skills Review
Evaluating personal skills required to achieve the strategic goals of Littlemore s using appropriate
methods
There are many ways in which one can evaluate the personal skills required to achieve the strategic
goals. In this section firstly three of the evaluation processes will be discussed; Self Evaluation, Peer
Evaluation and 360 degree Evaluation.
Self Evaluation is to critically manage one s career and integrating work with the other parts of one s
life is a clear self awareness, or sense of identity knowing who we truly are. There are many different
ways to come to know one, and that is called self evaluation (Ziv 2011). Figure 1: Self Evaluating
Cycle (Education Scotland, 2015)
This Figure was published in the Education Scotland and it perfectly illustrates how self evaluation
occurs. As the name suggests, it is used for evaluating yourself by asking the series of questions
mentioned within the 4 different stages cited above. Therefore, this method may be used to evaluate
skills are required to achieve the strategic goals for Littlemore. But this is not the only method;

27. King Lear Women
In the past, women were perceived as housewives, who were expected to stay home to cook, clean,
and watch the children. In the works of William Shakespeare, women play various roles, whether it be
supporting and central or negating and subtle. In Shakespeare s King Lear, the women are
authoritative figures, who are nearly more dominant than their male counterparts. Goneril, Lear s
eldest daughter, constantly manipulates her life and the lives of others by lying and getting rewarded
and telling the truth and getting punished, which ultimately leads to her death. Having been King of
Britain for a long time, Lear announces his plan to divide his kingdom amongst his three daughters,

Cordelia, who tells the truth to her father by saying, I love your Majesty / According to my bond, no

counterfeit perception of herself to her father, leading to her inheritance of half the kingdom. Lear
believes that Goneril and Regan love him the most, making them see kind and gracious, while they are
actually evil and malicious. Goneril shares her inheritance of half the kingdom with her husband
Albany. But, the relationship between Goneril and Albany is weak, crumbling, distrustful, and full of
hate. Goneril and Albany often have different opinions, which leads to quarrels. Moreover, Goneril
seems to overpower Albany, having more authority and control over the servants and the kingdom.
Disinterested in Albany s love, Goneril pursues a younger and more attractive gentleman Edmund. In
a letter written to Edmund from Goneril, it says: Let our reciprocal vows be remembered. / You have
many opportunities to cut him off: if your / will want not, time and place will be fruitfully offered

kill her husband, so that they can be together. Goneril tells the truth to Edmund, and it backfires as

28. Essay On Why College Athletes Should Not Be Paid
Paying College Athletes is not a Solution.
To pay, or not to pay? That is the question when discussing the proposal of collegiate athletes earning
a salary for participating in sports programs. Collegiate sports programs thrive throughout the nation.
A forefront in american culture, college sports bring in a multitude of money, attention, and prestige
for the school represented. Crazed fans, proud alumni and every day spectators are entertained each
year by college athletes giving there all in the sport they love. These athletes are not given any money
out of all the money raised and are often seen as used. Despite arguments towards collegiate athlete
salary proposals, payment for playing collegiate sports should not be made a possibility because
earning an education in itself reaps financial benefits, the recognition of the athletic department s roles
displays flaws, and athletes are informed from the beginning what to expect out their scholarship as
well as the system. Though many people find the leeching off of these devoted athletes to be a issue,
paying these athletes is not the a possible solution to the problem.

Ceramic artist Daniel Kuhn is from the western area of Pennsylvania known as the Alleghany Valley.
This industrial area has greatly influenced his work, which incorporates photographic imagery and
layered slips on gestural clay forms. Kuhn s purpose is to depict the landscape touched by industry.
Another style Kuhn incorporates in his work has been the American style of Raku which brings
together modern and ancient techniques by using the toxic glazes of Raku and porous sawdust fired
pots. When using sawdust as technique to cool the ware, a chemical reaction occurs this leaves the
ware with exuberant hues. Daniel Kuhn s secondary education took place at Olney Friends School in

work have both the side of craft and art seen in Figure 1,2,3, and 4. What is so interesting about Kuhn
is how he brings together different styles in the mediums of ceramics and photography by bringing
mental and physical forces to shape how he and others are human beings. One of the reasons of joy
Kuhn has in practicing this skill is to tell a story through imagery of his photography and the canvas is
the sculptural clay. The physical element of the clay is portrayed as rigid and rough, on the other hand,
the imagery brings a smooth picture of what Kuhn s experiences in the past and present. The strongest
factor when looking at the sculpture has a hidden meaning of the physical roughness and approach of
the imagery can only be described by the creator. Kuhn has described his work

30. Self-Awaking And Identity In The Generation Of The Baby...
The self is an identity that is formed through an individual s experiences and exploration throughout
the course of their life; it is ever changing. In an individual s discovery of their self , self esteem, one s
confidence in their abilities as an individual or self can impact their level of happiness. As a result, an
individual s self esteem in terms of performance, behavior, and body image can weaken or strengthen
their emotional stability.
There is a lot of pressure to be that self , not only in present day, but also in the past, before the Baby
Boomer era. Many people try to find themselves without knowing what a self is. A self as explained
by Twenge, in the generation of the Baby Boom, is one s journey of learning and getting to know who
you truly are and is a new concept that arose when social structures began to loosen and people started
to make more choices for themselves....an autonomous, free person (Twenge 488 4899). Twenge s
word choice such as, loosen and free creates a sense of awaking and freedom in the term self . A
person is breaking out of an idealized image and becoming the self . However, Twenge s argument
that it has become a new concept fairly recently, is debatable. Self is an identity and it is not
something that just popped up recently. People still struggle to find and express themselves, the only
thing that has changed, are the societal norms and people s decision to speak up about their true self .

there are many causes leaded to the financial crisis in the 2008. However, America s macro policy is
definitely the core reason for the financial crisis. Since 1999, America began to release financial
regulation. It made American financial ecological environment break out many problems. For
example, financial derivative instruments occurred changes, value chain became longer and longer,
which leaded to a subprime crisis. Before subprime crisis happened, the American government
proposed a series of acts and policies involved limited export. American government adopted different
trade barriers for developing countries. And it also limited technology products which push the

cunning plan, so that he may get the opportunity to murder the judge. Sweeney Todd shows absolutely
no loyalties to anyone and would go so far as sacrificing the last of his own flesh and blood. Sweeney
ignores opportunities to speak with his daughter and even threatens to severe her jugular when he feels
she is getting in the way or becoming a risk to him. Mrs. Barker, or Sweeney Todd s wife, is dead as
far as he is aware, but he gets into direct confrontations with her numerous times and just pushes her
away; blinded to her existence as his long lost wife. Sweeney Todd pays no attention to the identity of
the woman whom seems to bother and fondle everyone she meets while begging for change. However,
if he hadn t been so distracted with his revenge he might have noticed that thewoman whom stood in
front of him was none other than his wife from many years earlier. It becomes hard to picture a scene
in which any right minded individual could look into the eyes of a long lost spouse and murder them
without becoming privy to the knowledge that they are past partners.

naturally betray others due to their inner darkness, and therefore peace can ultimately never be

in his mind which he believes as the truth. However, when reality catches up to him, his just decision
is to confess to Finny. The guilt is too much to handle, and would lead Gene to be his own worst

41. The Threat Of Liberty Equality Based Societies By Alexis...
Threat to Liberty in Equality Based Societies While traveling across the United States, Alexis de
Tocqueville recorded how democracy operates and the roles of its participants in, Democracy in
America. Tocqueville demonstrates his admiration of the American democratic system and Americans
dedication to freedom, equality, and supporting one another. Despite these praises, there is also a
looming danger against liberty in not only America, but in all societies based on equality. The most
imminent threat to liberty in these societies is despotism as it prevents individuals from exercising
their natural freedoms and rights. Tocqueville proposes resolutions to this threat, such as, government
decentralization and civil associations. Despotism flourishes in equal societies due to individuals
isolating themselves and forming a centralized governing institution. As stated by Tocqueville,
Equality places men beside one another without a common bond to hold them. Equality disposes them
not to think of those like themselves... (485). With aristocracies, a society not concerned with equality,
there is a ligature between individuals within each socioeconomic class. For instance, the noblemen
associate with noblemen, while the poor associate with the poor. However, with societies based on
equality, mankind is no longer divided by their means. The wealthy are equal to the poor in rights and
freedoms, but not in monetary wealth. Lacking this unification amongst each other s

Xanthus and Iadmon, the latter gave him his freedom as a reward for his wit and intelligence. As a
freedman he supposedly became involved in public affairs and traveled a lot telling his fables along
the way. King Croesus of Lydia was so impressed with Aesop that he offered him residency and a job
at his court.
The popularity of Aesop is also shown by the fact that Plato records that Socrates decided to versify
some of his fables while he was in jail awaiting execution.

While on a mission for King Croesus to distribute a certain amount of gold to the people of Delphi in
Greece, there was a misunderstanding about how much gold each person was supposed to receive.

knowledge with the tools to support giving back to the field and community. I long to give back
through the power of research in my given field, and upon taking this course I feel empowered to do
just that. The Research in HR course set a solid foundation for APA style writing, which has not only
benefitted me through graduate school but will continue to benefit me into my career path. Today, APA
Style sets the bar that is well respected in journals, books, and electronic databases (American
Psychological Association, 2012). I found this course beneficial because much like each of my other
courses, it further refined my skillsets for my pursuit of clinical administrative work and research on
autism and speech in the field of speech language pathology. Through each assignment, I became even
more critical of the research I consumed. Being able to produce solid sources to help push my field of
