The reasons why are not totally clear . The other reason why depression can cause short term memory
is that depression has been linked to memory problems, such as forgetfulness or confusion. It can also
make it difficult to focus on work or other tasks, make decisions, or think clearly. Stress and anxiety
can also lead to poor memory. Depression is associated with short term memory loss also Sleep Apnea

Poets of the Tang Dynasty Essay
Throughout human history, our beliefs have influenced our actions. This is why we have studies like
the humanities. During the Tang Dynasty, different religions developing during the time had enormous
influence on what was being produced during the era. When it comes to literature, poets like Wang
Wei, Li Bai, Du Fu, and Bo Juyi expressed their religions through their poetry during the Tang era.
While it was not always directly mentioned in their poetry, there are connections between the Tang
Dynasty poets works and their respective religions. Wang Wei (699 761CE), was a Buddhist poet that
was born in to the upper class in Shanxi. He passed the Chin Shi system a system that was designed to

1170). His poetry really appeals to the senses. One of the ways that Buddhism was introduced to the
Tang Dynasty was by means of a legendary monk: Xuanzang. He traveled to India, while the city of
Chang an suffered from chaos, to study the original Buddhist scripts and later returned to China to
translate all of them and interpret the ideas for the people through his Weishi School (Wen, 77). The
concept of emptiness is very prominent in Buddhism emptiness is neither reality nor total nothingness.
Thus, being and nothingness only differ in name; the ontological statuses of both are emptiness (76).
In Wei s poem, Hermitage at Chung nan Mountain he writes: ...and go there on a whim to wander
alone. But even in all this splendor, things remain empty. I climb to the headwaters where clouds rise
up from emptiness (Davis et al. 1170). The emptiness to which he is referring is not literal emptiness,
but to the underlying unity of all things. Also, the Chung nan Mountain that he refers to was a part of
the well known mountains that draw many followers of Taoism and Buddhism because of their
solitude. When he says Growing older, I grow into the Tao... he is referring to the way of life that can
be achieved by following Buddhist traditions. The poet Li Bai (701 762CE) was

(An analysis of the 2017 adaptation of Stephen King s It using Aristotle s Poetics) When the word
poetics is used, poetry and roses are often what come to mind. However, poetics can be any form of
entertainment. Aristotle is talking about drama and plays specifically, and in today s world, he would
be talking about movies. Several movies are released in theaters every week. There is a variety of
genres, including drama, thriller, horror, comedy, and romance. Aristotle creates the basis for all
critiques and judgments of drama in his essay Poetics. Aristotle creates this idea of a good drama that
still can be applied to modern film today. After Aristotle s death, his philosophy continued to be taught

These kids are indeed the protagonists of the storyline. They are extremely relatable characters in both
their fears and tribulations. In the beginning of the film, Georgie is afraid of the dark, and must
conquer his fear to retrieve some wax from the cellar. Nothing was there when Georgie went into the
cellar, but he thought there was something there because his fear made his brain imagine that
something was hiding in the dark. The movie does not start off with jump scares and creepiness like a
majority of horror movies. Rebecca Lewis praises the movie when she writes, Director Muschietti
uses horror tropes such as the young boy afraid of the dark empty cellar and the pouring autumnal rain
to put you on the edge of your seat before you ve even met Pennywise the Dancing Clown, (Lewis).
By starting the film off this way, Muschietti creates an environment that almost every person to watch
the film could relate to. Most people used to be afraid of the dark when they were young. Georgie s
fear of the dark enticed the audience, bringing them into the experience and reminding them of their
own fear of the dark. This is an extremely clever device used by King and Muschietti to captivate the
audience. Aristotle comments in Poetics that the audience can relate to the protagonist through fear.
Joe Sachs comments that, Fear can obviously be an insidious thing that undermines life and poisons it
with anxiety, (Sachs).

Impaired Cognitive Performance Occurs Within Children With...
Background: Impaired cognitive performance occurs in children with multiple sclerosis (MS). In
adults, cognitive impairment (CI) is seen at the time of first attack suggesting a prodrome of disease
progression prior to first onset of physical disability. Children who develop multiple sclerosis also
have CI at time of diagnosis suggesting that actual disease onset occurs prior to manifestation of
physical symptoms. It has not been reported whether children who go on to develop a clinical
diagnosis of multiple sclerosis are delayed in acquiring early developmental milestones.
Objective: To determine whether children with early onset MS are delayed in attaining early
developmental milestones and whether children with MS diagnosis prior to the age of 11 years are
more likely to need special education services.
Methods: Pediatric onset MS and cases and controls less than 18 years of age from 14 pediatric MS
centers in the United States were studied. A questionnaire on environmental and genetic influences
was completed by family members, capturing information on demographic and developmental history.
Data on time of first walking unaided and acquisition of two word phrases were captured on MS and
control groups. The need for special education services was captured in MS subjects only.
Results: A total of 467 cases and 428 controls were enrolled. Patients with early onset MS prior to age
18 were not delayed in walking or using two word phrases compared to healthy controls.

Buddhism As Meditation Of Buddhism
as meditation. In short, in adapting to a changing world, Buddhism has transformed in many ways to
fit the needs and desires of the cultures it has come into contact with.
Moreover, aside from the shift to a less ritualistic approach, many Buddhist forms have also moved
towards a stress on equality over hierarchy. To begin with, in traditional Buddhism, a believer s length
of practice or education determines the weight of their opinions. This especially applies regarding
scripture. However, putting this into perspective, in the words of McMahan, it would have occurred to
virtually no one, simply to pick up such a book and try to understand it for himself (even less herself).

traditional elements as the cycle of rebirth and the notion of karma for a more pragmatic approach.
Furthermore, with respect to the goals of Buddhism for traditional followers they focus on freedom

Literary Analysis Of George Gascoigne In For That He Look...
What is a relationship worth if it will only end in misery? In the poem For That He Look Not
Upon Her, english poet George Gascoigne explore the universal feelings of fear and disappointment
through his personal struggle with examples of vivid imagery, metaphors, and literary devices by
painting a picture of fear, self loathing, destruction and dread. As a sonnet, in fourteen lines,
Gascoigne employs these examples of literary devices to communicate his ideas as a torn and broken
man efficiently but also with plenty of emotion through form, diction, and imagery. In quatrain one,
Gascoigne immediately establishes the tone of his plight through his diction. In writing about his
Louring head so low (2) and No delight [in ranging] (3) his eyes in the initial four lines, he instantly
sets a tone of suffering and self loathing. Though he has not yet expanded on the reasons, any reader
can instantly understand which direction Gascoigne intends to take the poem. He establishes himself
as a man of pity by contrasting the words louring (2) with gleams (4) . These specific words all hold a
dark commonality within these lines which will continue through the subsequent quatrains.
Furthermore, it is made clear he is writing in the form of a sonnet with an ABAB rhyme scheme. The
importance in this form may be to establish that this is not simply a stream of consciousness, or a
frustrated and rushed response, but rather a structurally calculated poem. In using a

It filters out a great deal of external factors, which limits biased results. Its structure is beneficial in
proving or disproving results. Just as is the case with primary and qualitative research, it is costly and
time consuming. This tool requires extensive analysis of statistics and data. Generally, it requires
retesting, and refinement. Moreover, it does not lend itself to areas of ambiguity.
Finally, focus groups provide in depth data. They are a good way to involve the target group in the
research process in a more intimate way. Researchers can observe the group while they are having
dialogue to gauge authenticity. This tool also allows the researcher to use visual stimuli to interact
with its target. However, this tool is not the most efficient way to gather information. As with most of
the tools mentioned, it is time consuming. Therefore, not scientific. Focus groups can produce obscure
results if they are not strictly moderated. Additionally, they often must be incentivized for
participation.

Mink Stereotypes
Mink (Neovison vison) Introduction Mink (Neovison vison previously Mustela vison)(Ahola et al.,
2011) are semi aquatic carnivorous mammals (Heyen et. al., 2011). In the wild they are a solitary and
very territorial species some some aspects of their way of living in the wild have been replicated for
use in mink farming (Pedersen et al., 2003) for example breeding stock are housed individually
(Meagher et al., 2014) however juveniles may be housed in groups (Alumu et al., 2014), individually
(Pedersen et al., 2003) or more likely in male female pairs (Hänninen et al., 2008). Other aspects of
their natural habitats have been excluded from their farm habitats, such as access to a swimming area,

During the year mink will be moved into other cages four to six times with their identities given by
cards attached to their cages that are moved with them (Meagher et al., 2014). As they are solitary and
territorial creatures, breeding stock are housed individually and brought together for mating in
February/March, then pregnant females are moved into whelping pens just before giving birth in
April/May (Meagher et al., 2014). After birth the juveniles live with their mothers for approximately
two months before being weaned (Meagher et al., 2014) then after weaning the juvenile mink are kept
in male female pairs until they are approximately six months old (Hänninen et al., 2008). Then some
mink are selected to be used as breeding stock and are housed individually while the rest are killed for
their pelts (Meagher et al., 2014). Another form of housing that is becoming increasingly more
common for juvenile mink is group housing as it decreases the cost of housing the mink by increasing
the stocking density (Alumu et al., 2014) and group housed juveniles may be less stressed than pair
housed juveniles and they show

God In John Steinbeck s The Book Of Job
When thinking about God, two things come to mind; God is perfect and he controls everything.
However, chapter forty two in the book of Job is able to show me a side of the Lord that I have never
seen before. This story got me thinking about why God does certain things. Sometimes things happen,
and people just don t understand why. It also left me with the impression that God has the power to
bring evil upon people. God s intentions may not be to harm anyone, but to test their faith and will
power. The last thing that I learned from this chapter is that God can reveal people for who they really
are. Throughout the book, God has taken away everything from his humble servant Job. His family
and animals are gone and there is no apparent reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The thing that catches my attention is what God says before that. God says, My wrath is kindled
against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my
servant Job hath (Ch.42, Pg.82) This quote shows that God is disappointed with these men and they
didn t perform like Job did. The Lord had expectations of these men, and they failed him. Therefore,
he makes them supply offerings to Job. I feel that God is proving a point to people that faith and
courage can lead to good things. Throughout the time, Job has been put through many hard obstacles.
God took everything away from him instantly including his family. To me, losing my family would
have to be the most devastating thing that could happen. I once had an incident regarding family and it
broke me down. During that time in my life, I almost lost faith in God. I was so confused and upset at
why certain things were happening and I had no answer. It seemed like God wasn t looking out for me
and it seemed like I couldn t trust him. However, I remained faithful to the Lord because I knew that
he could make things

Paper On Sexual Assault
Introduction of Subject The military has made progress in reducing sexual assault and connecting
victims to services. Sexual assault runs against the grain of military standards of service and value, yet
it continues to happen. Repercussions for reporting these assaults are creating challenges for our
service members, and hindering the progress of their mental and physical care. Continued and
expanded efforts are needed to help support survivors and work to prevent sexual violence from
occurring. Policy changes to the current reporting procedures could eradicate sexual violence and
reduce the stigma surrounding the taboo topic.

Active duty refers to a service person who works full time or is in full time training in the military,
excluding the National Guard (DOD, 2010b). The reserve and National Guard are subsets of the
military branches that have members who might not be on active duty (DOD, 2010b). The military as
a whole is largely male, with approximately 14% to 18% of active, reserve, and National Guard
positions held by females (DOD, 2010a). The age range of the armed forces spans from 18 years old

Analysis Of The Book The Hardy Boys
The Hardy Boys series written by various authors, all under the pseudonym Franklin W. Dixon has
been around for a very long time. Their first appearance was in 1927, and they have survived
numerous reboots and reprints since then. Part of their charm, especially for kids, is that, unlike
Sherlock Holmes and other popular detectives, they are teenagers. Like their readers, they have
school, chores, and church on Sunday. This essay will focus, as far as plot is concerned on the first
book The Tower Treasure, the differences between the Hardy Boys and typical detective fiction, as
well as on the cultural impact of the books. The Tower Treasure begins with the sons of private
detective Fenton Hardy running an errand for their father. The errand and their lives are almost cut
short, however by a speeding car that nearly runs them off the road. They survive the incident, and
continue on, completing their errand successfully. They then detour to the farm of Chet Morton, a
school chum of the Hardy boys [who] lived on a farm about a mile out of Bayport (Dixon 14). On the
way to Chet s they discover the car that almost killed them overturned. They examine the wreck to
find that it has been abandoned. Upon arriving at Chet s, they discover that his jalopy, the Queen has
been stolen. They drive into their hometown of Bayport, where they run into Callie Shaw. Callie
accuses Chet of lending his car to someone who then hit her and ruined a cake she was carrying for a

Two people not in the Cavendish lab, but equally as involved in the discovery of the structure of DNA
were Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin, from King s College in London. While writing about
many of the afore mentioned individuals Watson emitted a constant attitude of indifference and his
actions toward Rosalind Franklin equally reflected that indifference.
The following excerpt is Watson s initial description of Rosalind, or Rosy as she was refered to when
not within earshot.
I suspect that in the beginning Maurice hoped that
Rosy would calm down. Yet mere inspection suggested
that she would not easily bend. By choice she did not
emphasize her feminine qualities. Though her features
were strong, she was not unattractive and might have
been quite stunning had she taken even a mild interest in
clothes. This she did not. There was never lipstick to
contrast her straight black hair, while at the age of thirty

the product of an unsatisfied mother who unduly stressed
the desirability of professional careers that could save
bright girls from marriages to dull men. But this was not
the case. Her dedicated, austere life could not be thus

Sex Workers And The Rights Of Human Trafficking And Human...
When you hear about human trafficking, most people do not think about it going on their own
backyard. At the same time, there is the occasional news story about prostitution, in one way or
another. Although the deeper problems underlying the two topics are rarely spoken about in a public
forum, the relationship between the two are incredibly important in the protection of trafficking
victims and the preservation of rights of legitimate sex workers. The sex workers rights movement is
important in understanding the position sex workers have as workers and members of a community
tainted by illegal trafficking. Human sex trafficking is the movement of people, by force, into the sex
trade, or other forced labor. Yes, sex workers should have their profession considered as a legitimate
sector. Yes, human sex trafficking should be stopped. While both of those things are true it is
important to consider all aspects of both to form a movement directed at the two, rather than focus on
strictly one or the other. A movement that is geared towards creating an even ground between the
rights of individuals to use their sexuality to make an honest living, and the protection of individuals
from the exploitation of that very same sexuality, is pivotal in the continuation of protecting human
rights across the globe. By examining how several, very different, countries deal with sex work and
human trafficking, we can attempt to understand how we can move forward with a new more complex

Ethos, Pathos, And Logos

my use of these devices to join other communities. If you do not know what a discourse community is,
then it is a group of people who share knowledge of a particular topic, similar backgrounds and
experiences etc. my discourse community was High school broadcasting which for most students they
would never join because it is a very tech savvy class. At our school the announcements were not done

As well about half the students did not take us seriously. So with those in mind we had to build up our
credibility. In the beginning of the year we had to start with factual pieces which we brought the
students peers to react to videos like the iPhone 6 plus bend test in which I was in charge of. We got
great reactions and we got students to actually watch the show. As well as showing quotes from
important people and/or organizations. Students would actually believe and understand what we were
showing and were being informed. On top of that we got each episode checked for credible by
administers which we always passed. From these experience in broadcasting I learned how to use
ethos quite effectively. Broadcasting taught me that without ethos you do not have anywhere to begin.
If no one sees that you are credible then no one will listen to you in your discourse community. It is
important to show credibility without there is nowhere to start. This transferred to my own way of
using ethos to in the beaginnig show and strengthen my credibility early on so people keep listening.
It is easy to just say a few facts but as our audience are high school students we had to gain their
attention via aesthetic appeal. When I mean is keep high school students interested in the show and
not go on their phones. If we could not connect to them then I would utterly make us useless that is
why we use pathos to keep the

transgenic animal models of AD (Griffin et al., 1989; Akiyama et al., 2000; Ruan et al., 2009).
Whether alleviation of neuroinflammation will offer therapeutic benefit for AD remains unclear.
Epidemiological studies show a possible association between suppression of inflammation and
reduced risk for AD (in t Veld et al., 2001; Vlad et al., 2008). Therefore, drugs targeting
neuroinflammation might provide benefits for the prevention and treatment of this devastating disease.
In the central nervous system, microglia and astrocytes are the major type of glial cells, and activation
of these cells has been involved in all neurodegenerative diseases (Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002).

The Physiological Effects of Pollutants Essay
Introduction
Contaminated groundwater that contains harmful chemicals as the result of agricultural pesticides and
human waste has long been known to negatively affect the environment. However the culminating
physiological effects of these chemicals may trigger a cascade of changes within the Alligator
mississippiensis (American Alligator) population, ultimately causing an ecological shift that is
contrary to the natural course of evolution. Chemicals called endocrine disruptors can affect bodily
functions in a variety of ways. By altering the body s hormonal balance on a chemical level, endocrine
disruptors can result in morphological changes to hormone dependent organs, which could in turn
significantly disrupt the animal s growth, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1980, a chemical spill in the area nearly decimated the American Alligator population of Lake
Apopka and resulted in a multitude of negative effects years afterword from which the population has
not yet fully recovered (Arcand Hoy and Benson, 1998). This is primarily blamed on the long term
effects of endocrine disruptors that were introduced into the system. Either by mimicking natural
hormones and binding to hormone receptors, or by blocking the binding of natural hormones to
hormone receptors, endocrine disruptors are able to alter how natural hormones are produced and used
(Oberdorster and Cheek, 2011). Because hormones are responsible for maintaining many bodily
functions, changing hormonal concentrations will disturb the body s natural balance and produce
abnormal morphological changes to hormone dependent organs (Arcand Hoy and Benson, 1998).
Morphological Effects on Body Size
For example, thyroid hormones are necessary for proper development of the central nervous system
and skeletal systems. Therefore, changes in thyroid levels would produce morphological changes in
brain and bone tissue. In Lake Apopka, studies have proven that the greater the concentration of
thyroid hormone, the smaller the alligator s body size as a result of skeleton malformation. In contrast,
an increase in the concentration of steroid hormones has been proven to produce a larger body size
(Crain et al., 1998). In another hormonal study,

Ergogenic Aids in Sports Essay
Ergogenic Aids in Sports
A large problem in sports today is the use of ergogenic aids. An ergogenic aid is any substance or
device that increases or enhances energy use, production, or recovery giving the athlete an advantage
in competition. Not all ergogenic aids are illegal; many such as dietary supplements, vitamin
supplements, or protein supplements are widely used and accepted, however, many are illegal and are
banned by many athletic committees(Ahrendt,1). I will be discussing these illegal aids and the affect
they have on the athlete and the athletic community. Some of the more commonly used illegal aids
include blood doping, caffeine, corticosteroids, diuretics, and human growth hormones (HGH).

The effectiveness of blood doping is unsure, researches don t know if it truly works. Some reports
state that the added RBC and hemoglobin increase the viscosity of the blood, which in turn actually
decreases the VO2 max(Goldman,50). The increase in viscosity can lead to an overload of work in the
liver and kidney, which could lead to future problems in the liver and kidney (Shipe,77). Another
precaution is if the blood that is injected does not come from the person it is being injected into there
is a possibility of getting a disease such as AIDS. Blood doping is nearly impossible to discover in
tests because the athlete is usually injecting their own blood into their system. The increased
hemoglobin and RBC in the body can be accredited to high altitude workouts (working at high
altitudes for extended amounts of time can increase hemoglobin and RBC s). Even though it is near
impossible to test for the Olympic Committee still bans its use in hope to find a test.
Caffeine is a chemical found in the leaves, seeds, and fruit of over 60 species of plant. It is found in
coffee, tea, some soft drinks, and chocolate. It can also be taken as a tablet at high doses in products
such as No Doz or Vivarin (Donahue,33). It is banned as an ergogenic aid in large doses.
Caffeine is believed to increase endurance and alertness. An

Film is a prevalent aspect of modern North American culture that works to both shape the culture
while being shaped by the culture. The ideological elements that films contain, and the purposes that
these ideologies serve, are similar to the function of religious ideologies (Lyden 2003: 3). This is
possible through films creation of their own realities. Films craft a sacred space that allows the
audience to escape from the normal realm of time and space, immersing the them in the reality of the
film (25;65). In this immersion, the audience is able to follow the film s myths, morals, and rituals in a
manner that mirrors religious ideologies and their legitimation or challenging of dominant societal
norms (33). Myths in film, as with religion, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film begins with Zissou screening his latest documentary, which portrays the death of his friend,
and it is clear that Zissou is considered somewhat of a joke in his profession, a fallen former star. After
the premiere, he meets Ned Plimpton, a man claiming to be Zissou s son, and once Steve invites Ned
to be on his crew, Zissou s passage into retirement begins, thus entering a liminal space. This passage
into retirement utilizes redemption ideologies in order to make the changes necessary for Steve to
progress through his transformation. Christopher Deacy describes filmic redemption as coming from
characters confronting their human inadequacies and weaknesses and undergoing a process of spiritual
and moral transformation, as opposed to the Christian theological concept of redemption coming from
God (Deacy 2009: 356;365). Steve Zissou has many inadequacies that he must confront. He
constantly lives in the past, holding grudges against his wife, Eleanor s, ex husband for getting
funding and unsuccessfully attempting to recreate an artificial sense of adventure for his
documentaries that used to be natural. He is desperately self centered, never sparing a thought to how
his actions affect others, which is inherently linked with his immaturity. He is often seen lashing out at

Impacts Of Mao Zedong
Mao Zedong was a communist revolutionary and leader of the People s Republic of China from 1949
to 1959. He also led the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) until his death in 1976. Known as the
Founding Father of China, he held a critical role in transforming the country from a poor, populous
country into a developing industrial superpower. During the duration of Mao s rein from 1949 1978,
Mao introduced the second Five Year Plan known as the Great Leap Forward in 1958, implemented to
transform China into a modern, nation state through economical and industrial development.
Subsequently in 1966, he aimed to unify the country by eliminating traditional capitalist elements
present in the Chinese society through the Cultural Revolution. However, ... Show more content on

Furthermore, Jasper Becker, foreign correspondent in China for the past two decades exemplifies
Davin s argument on the social ramifications of the economic plan, furthering that, An estimated 20 to
40 million people died of starvation between 1959 and 1962 because of food shortages from the states
exactions of grains from communes... throwing millions of people into the countryside who were not
permitted to leave, and that unlike previous famines, this one covered the entire country, (cited in
Shane, 2004, p117). Yang Su, Associate Professor at the University of California, sustains the effect
Mao s policies had on lives, additionally demonstrating that, The same pattern escalated during the
Cultural Revolution, resulting in widespread cruelty and violence, and causing millions of deaths, (Lu
cited in Shane, 2004, p.48). This echo s Davin s and Becker s argument that the policies implemented
by Mao resulted in millions of deaths and horrible famine, which damaged his reputation. Former
Director of Political Reforms Committee of the Communist Party, Bao Tong, illustrates this smeared
reputation, when he states that, Mao s legacy, ... includes silencing of public opinion... and was
responsible for the deaths of tens of millions... a mass miscarriage of justice, (cited in Mercury News,
2013). While Bao Tong could be regarded as an anti Maoist source, his arguments corroborate those of
Deng Xiaoping, Chinese leader of the PRC in 1978, advancing the argument that Mao was, 70 percent
right and 30 percent wrong, (Deng cited in Global Times, 2013). This demonstrates that while the CCP
obviously advocated for the positive impact Mao had on China, even the party had to admit the

Crane, Brent. The Virtues of Isolation. The Atlantic, Atlantic Media Company, 30 Mar. 2017,
www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2017/03/the virtues of isolation/521100/.
The Virtues of Isolation , written by Brent Crane, states that under the right circumstances being alone
can provide significant psychological help. The article stated that scientists often associate isolation
with negative outcomes due to it having adverse effects on the minds of children. However, when it is
voluntarily pursued, it can be shown to have significant befits some would even say its therapeutic.
That temporarily isolating yourself gives you a chance to take a step back and take a good look at
yourself. It alleviates the stress on our everyday lives and lets us relax. That the difference between
solitude as therapy and solitude as misery depends on the quality of self reflection that a person
experiences, and the ability to reintegrate into social groups when their ready.
Edmonds, Molly. What are the effects of isolation in the mind? HowStuffWorks Science,
HowStuffWorks, 6 Apr. 2010, science.howstuffworks.com/life/inside the mind/emotions/isolation
effects.htm.
What are the effects of isolation in the mind? discusses the scientific aspect of what transpires in our
brains when we are lonely vs non lonely. Writer Molly Edmonds tells us how The University of
Chicago researchers conducted an experiment to see how lonely people s brains react to certain stimuli
as opposed to that of a non lonely person. Both the lonely and non lonely subjects were shown
photographs of people in both pleasant and unpleasant settings. When viewing the pleasant pictures,
the non lonely subjects showed much more activity in a section of the brain known as the ventral
striatum than the lonely subjects. The ventral striatum is a part of the brain that deals with learning and
part of the brain s reward center. The lonely subjects showed less activity in this region of the brain
while viewing the pleasant pictures and unpleasant pictures. The results left researchers wondering
whether loneliness rewires the brain to function differently or if the brain inclines certain people to
feel isolated.

Animal agriculture has caused mass extinction of species, the melting of Arctic sea, and the collapse
of the world fisheries. According to many environmentalist, the earth is currently facing the greatest
mass extinction of all in history roughly a thousand times greater than ever before. For example, the
Earth has lost more plant and animal species in today s time compared to the period of the dinosaur
extinction. Due to the constant increase of animal agriculture causing desertification and deforestation
is leading to the increase of greenhouse gases in the Earth s atmosphere and predominantly the

The International Monetary Fund ( Imf )
Introduction
In the statement of the 2015 Article IV Consultation Mission to China, the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) concluded that the Chinese economy was transitioning to a safer and higher quality
growth. In particular, the IMF highlighted that China had made good progress in recent years in
reducing its large current account surpluses and its huge accumulation of foreign exchange reserves.
Although undervaluation of the yuan was a major factor causing the large imbalances in the past, the
appreciation of the yuan over the past few years had brought the yuan USD exchange rate to a level
that was no longer undervalued.
Exchange rate, the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency, indicates the value of a
currency: a higher exchange rate is associated with a relatively lower value of its corresponding
currency. Since Chinese goods are usually valued in yuan, the only currency that is valuable for
Chinese is yuan. That is, a Chinese is only interested in selling and purchasing goods in yuan. Foreign
consumers, such as Americans, have to use yuan rather than dollars to purchase goods from Chinese
sellers. Specifically, an American must exchange his dollars into yuan at first and then uses yuan to
purchase Chinese goods. In other words, the yuan USD exchange rate works as a tool to measure the
price of the dollar in yuan.
Facing the threat of trade sanctions by the U.S. Congress, China announced that it would replace its
decade old currency peg with a

Comparison Between Durkheim And Freud s Theory Of Religion
Throughout this essay, an attempt to compare and contrast two key theorists approach to the study of
religion namely Durkheim and Freud will take place. This will consist of four stages, firstly an
introduction comprising of a definition of religion by Durkheim will occur. Secondly a comparison
and contrast of the approaches by Freud and Durkheim to the study of religion, as well as the strength
and weaknesses of these approaches and lastly a presentation of a conclusion will occur.
A number of problems are often encountered when dealing with the study of religion, the foremost
problem has to do with defining religion. For instance, definitions that attach and limit religion to
simply a belief in God/gods tend to be vague as well as narrow and to some degree not entirely
accurate. This is mainly because definitions like the one mentioned above neglect to take into account
atheistic religions that do not believe in God/gods. This is illustrated in a definition provided by the
oxford English dictionary, Action or conduct indicating belief in, obedience to, and reverence for a
god, gods, or similar superhuman power; the performance of religious rites or observances.
An alternative definition is presented in Durkheim s book, The Elementary Forms of religious life,
A religion is a unified system of beliefs and practices relative to sacred things, that is to say things set
apart and forbidden beliefs and practices which unite into one single moral community called a
church,

Imagery In Blood Meridian
McCarthy s descriptions of the setting in Chapter four of his fifth published book, Blood Meridian or
The Evening Redness in the West (McCarthy, 1985), published in 1985, and sets a visual imagery for
the reader to experience the book as one of the characters. Chapter four begins with the charters
heading into the desert with minimal food and supplies. Throughout the trip many men fall ill and pass
away along with their horses. The characters encounter numerous obstacles with wolves and the desert
sand. The chapter ends with most of the characters being slaughtered by several Comanche warriors
leaving only a few alive, one of them being the Kid. Blood Meridian is a novel that challenges the
myth of the western American landscape being this Promised Land for those heroic men who were
brave enough to dare to concur it. By McCarthy describing the landscape as less than attractive, the
empty villages, dry dessert and numerous dead bodies found.

(McCarthy 44). The animals presence reminds the reader that the landscape is not vacant and there are

Psychoactive Drugs Chapter 2 Analysis
Chapter two discusses how psychoactive drugs influence our behavior by it reaching the central
nervous system first, the most common routes being inhalation, oral administration and injection. I
found it interesting that heroin can cross the blood brain barrier a 100 times more than morphine
because it is more liquid soluble. Having stress when taking any of the psychoactive drugs only
increases the effects it will have on the brain. Chemicals that normally could not go through the blood
brain barrier will now have access under stress. Combining stress with the use of psychoactive drugs
can lead to more serious risk such as drug toxicity and even overdose. Another issue that I found
fascinating in chapter two were the drug stimulants being

not for everyone and buying varies from individual to individual. Currently more people are leaning

When someone makes the decision to buy or rent a home they must consider the advantages and
disadvantages of each. In buying a home the primary advantage is that you actually own it. You can do

You might be better off paying a reasonable amount for rent and saving your money when buying
seems more logical. Also, it depends on lifestyle preferences. Some people may not want to do all the
work that comes along with owning a home. As of right now many people are leaning towards renting.
This is because the market is going down. Some don t want to commit to a mortgage if when they go
to sell they can t find any buyers.
It is likely that the renting trend will decline and buying will increase in the future but it is hard to say
when. However, if rent keeps rising and prices keep falling, fearful buyers could slowly become
bargain hunters. (Business Week, 2014). I feel that people will eventually get tired of spending there
money on rent and will want to invest more in there future. I don t think that the real estate market will
ever be a boom again. I believe that people have learned that just because interest rates are low doesn t
mean they can financially take on a mortgage. Overall, buying a house is a big decision and should be
looked at carefully. You should look at the advantages and disadvantages of each and decide what is
best for you in your life. There is no way to pin point if buying or renting is best for anyone. Currently
many prefer to rent their homes. However, as rent rise, a majority may soon change their minds.

industry but due to knowledge and skills acquisition by other automobile manufacturers such as
Toyota, the once American Auto Industry leadership has been surpassed. I will give discuss this

Global Competition in the Industry
So far the Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan has surpassed all the American Auto Industry such as
Chrysler, Ford and General Motors. Toyota has also topped the world most admired Vehicles Industry
according to Fortune Magazine. There are various factors that have made the American Auto Industry
to face stiff competition. The following are some factors:
Innovation:
Toyota s was the first company to introduce a full hybrid system of vehicles and is the most popular
hybrid system in the world. On the other hand, American Auto Industry was late at adopting this

Modern Definition Of Hero In Beowulf
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, the modern definition of hero is a person admired for
achievements and noble qualities or one who shows great courage. Over centuries people s views of
what they consider a hero has transformed. Alfred de Vigny s claim that there are no heroes and no
monsters in this world makes it clear that he defines hero in a different way. Despite de Vigny s claim
that there are no heroes or monsters today, I believe there are, due to the selfless acts made by various
people everyday and the ghastly felonies committed by others. The definition of hero has evolved to
become more relevant in the world today and many people from recent centuries have done heroic

They were acclaimed for strength, for kindly guidance (line 1219) by being recognized for large
accomplishments they completed, like Beowulf when he defeated Grendel. Many heroes receive
praise, but not all are noticed. They may do small things and do not expect recognition, but their
actions still play a role in the outcome of a good event.
Critics may argue that there are no heroes in the world today because they do not fight in actual battles
against an enemy to defend a certain area or group of people. However, there are many ordinary
people that do extraordinary things every day. Current heroes save and help people in numerous ways
with their undaunted courage (line 572), like that of Beowulf. Military personnel help defend their
country in a way similar to that of a warrior. They put their lives in danger to protect the rights and
safety of those from their country. Firefighters and police officers also risk their lives for the safety of
others. Doctors, nurses, and paramedics respond to those in need of medical care and save many lives.

are even smaller things that people can strive to do to be a hero to someone. Donating money, helping

Some states have laws so strict that asking a nursing mother to stop, cover up, or move elsewhere is a
violation of her civil rights and gives her grounds to sue for damages in a court of law .
Babies who are not breastfed in places other than home will eventually become used to only being fed
in one place. Therefore the nourishing mother will basically become house bound. It is important for
women to get out of the house following birth, so they don t become depressed and feel cut off from
the rest of the world. According to The American Academy of Pediatrics The AAP recommends that
babies be exclusively breastfed for about the first 6 months of life. Babies should continue to
breastfeed for a year and for as long as is mutually desired by the mother and baby . During these first
6 months the mother should be dedicated to supplying breast milk whenever and wherever she and her
infant feel appropriate. Why should a mother be segregated from her everyday life during her nursing
period just to make others feel comfortable ?
For the most part women cover themselves with a shawl, a wrap, or a cover of some sort while
breastfeeding. If not they make sure that they are not exposed in any way. Breastfeeding saves
everyone money. According to Opposing Views A conservative 2001 report estimates that at least $3.6

During the Tang Dynasty, different religions developing during the time had enormous influence on what was being produced during the era. When it comes to literature, poets like Wang Wei, Li Bai, Du Fu, and Bo Juyi expressed their religions through their poetry during the Tang era. While it was not always directly mentioned in their poetry, there are connections between the Tang Dynasty poets works and their respective religions. He traveled to India, while the city of Chang an suffered from chaos, to study the original Buddhist scripts and later returned to China to translate all of them and interpret the ideas for the people through his Weishi School (Wen, 77). The concept of emptiness is very prominent in Buddhism emptiness is neither reality nor total nothingness. Thus, being and nothingness only differ in name; the ontological statuses of both are emptiness (76). In Wei s poem, Hermitage at Chung nan Mountain he writes: ...and go there on a whim to wander alone. But even in all this splendor, things remain empty. I climb to the headwaters where clouds rise up from emptiness (Davis et al. 1170). The emptiness to which he is referring is not literal emptiness, but to the underlying unity of all things. Also, the Chung nan Mountain that he refers to was a part of the well known mountains that draw many followers of Taoism and Buddhism because of their solitude. When he says Growing older, I grow into the Tao... he is referring to the way of life that can be achieved by following Buddhist traditions. The poet Li Bai (701 762CE) was ... They are extremely relatable characters in both their fears and tribulations. In the beginning of the film, Georgie is afraid of the dark, and must conquer his fear to retrieve some wax from the cellar. Nothing was there when Georgie went into the cellar, but he thought there was something there because his fear made his brain imagine that something was hiding in the dark. The movie does not start off with jump scares and creepiness like a majority of horror movies. Rebecca Lewis praises the movie when she writes, Director Muschietti uses horror tropes such as the young boy afraid of the dark empty cellar and the pouring autumnal rain to put you on the edge of your seat before you ve even met Pennywise the Dancing Clown, (Lewis). By starting the film off this way, Muschietti creates an environment that almost every person to watch the film could relate to. Most people used to be afraid of the dark when they were young. Georgie s fear of the dark enticed the audience, bringing them into the experience and reminding them of their own fear of the dark. This is an extremely clever device used by King and Muschietti to captivate the audience. Aristotle comments in Poetics that the audience can relate to the protagonist through fear. Joe Sachs comments that, Fear can obviously be an insidious thing that undermines life and poisons it with anxiety, (Sachs). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To begin with, in traditional Buddhism, a believer s length of practice or education determines the weight of their opinions. This especially applies regarding scripture. • 9. Literary Analysis Of George Gascoigne In For That He Look... What is a relationship worth if it will only end in misery? In the poem For That He Look Not Upon Her, english poet George Gascoigne explore the universal feelings of fear and disappointment through his personal struggle with examples of vivid imagery, metaphors, and literary devices by painting a picture of fear, self loathing, destruction and dread. As a sonnet, in fourteen lines, Gascoigne employs these examples of literary devices to communicate his ideas as a torn and broken man efficiently but also with plenty of emotion through form, diction, and imagery. In quatrain one, Gascoigne immediately establishes the tone of his plight through his diction. In writing about his Louring head so low (2) and No delight [in ranging] (3) his eyes in the initial four lines, he instantly sets a tone of suffering and self loathing. Though he has not yet expanded on the reasons, any reader can instantly understand which direction Gascoigne intends to take the poem. He establishes himself as a man of pity by contrasting the words louring (2) with gleams (4) . These specific words all hold a dark commonality within these lines which will continue through the subsequent quatrains. Furthermore, it is made clear he is writing in the form of a sonnet with an ABAB rhyme scheme. The importance in this form may be to establish that this is not simply a stream of consciousness, or a frustrated and rushed response, but rather a structurally calculated poem. In using a ... However, chapter forty two in the book of Job is able to show me a side of the Lord that I have never seen before. This story got me thinking about why God does certain things. Sometimes things happen, and people just don t understand why. It also left me with the impression that God has the power to bring evil upon people. God s intentions may not be to harm anyone, but to test their faith and will power. The last thing that I learned from this chapter is that God can reveal people for who they really are. Throughout the book, God has taken away everything from his humble servant Job. His family and animals are gone and there is no apparent reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The thing that catches my attention is what God says before that. God says, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath (Ch.42, Pg.82) This quote shows that God is disappointed with these men and they didn t perform like Job did. The Lord had expectations of these men, and they failed him. Therefore, he makes them supply offerings to Job. I feel that God is proving a point to people that faith and courage can lead to good things. Throughout the time, Job has been put through many hard obstacles. God took everything away from him instantly including his family. To me, losing my family would have to be the most devastating thing that could happen. I once had an incident regarding family and it broke me down. During that time in my life, I almost lost faith in God. Repercussions for reporting these assaults are creating challenges for our service members, and hindering the progress of their mental and physical care. Continued and expanded efforts are needed to help support survivors and work to prevent sexual violence from occurring. Policy changes to the current reporting procedures could eradicate sexual violence and reduce the stigma surrounding the taboo topic. Active duty refers to a service person who works full time or is in full time training in the military, excluding the National Guard (DOD, 2010b). The reserve and National Guard are subsets of the military branches that have members who might not be on active duty (DOD, 2010b). The military as a whole is largely male, with approximately 14% to 18% of active, reserve, and National Guard positions held by females (DOD, 2010a). The age range of the armed forces spans from 18 years old to older than 40 years old, with 44.2% of active duty members and 33.3% of reserve and guard members younger than 25 (DOD, 2010a). • 16. Analysis Of The Book The Hardy Boys The Hardy Boys series written by various authors, all under the pseudonym Franklin W. Dixon has been around for a very long time. Their first appearance was in 1927, and they have survived numerous reboots and reprints since then. Part of their charm, especially for kids, is that, unlike Sherlock Holmes and other popular detectives, they are teenagers. Like their readers, they have school, chores, and church on Sunday. This essay will focus, as far as plot is concerned on the first book The Tower Treasure, the differences between the Hardy Boys and typical detective fiction, as well as on the cultural impact of the books. The Tower Treasure begins with the sons of private detective Fenton Hardy running an errand for their father. The errand and their lives are almost cut short, however by a speeding car that nearly runs them off the road. They survive the incident, and continue on, completing their errand successfully. They then detour to the farm of Chet Morton, a school chum of the Hardy boys [who] lived on a farm about a mile out of Bayport (Dixon 14). On the way to Chet s they discover the car that almost killed them overturned. They examine the wreck to find that it has been abandoned. Upon arriving at Chet s, they discover that his jalopy, the Queen has been stolen. They drive into their hometown of Bayport, where they run into Callie Shaw. The following excerpt is Watson s initial description of Rosalind, or Rosy as she was refered to when not within earshot. I suspect that in the beginning Maurice hoped that Rosy would calm down. Yet mere inspection suggested that she would not easily bend. By choice she did not emphasize her feminine qualities. Though her features were strong, she was not unattractive and might have been quite stunning had she taken even a mild interest in clothes. This she did not. • 19. Sex Workers And The Rights Of Human Trafficking And Human... When you hear about human trafficking, most people do not think about it going on their own backyard. At the same time, there is the occasional news story about prostitution, in one way or another. Although the deeper problems underlying the two topics are rarely spoken about in a public forum, the relationship between the two are incredibly important in the protection of trafficking victims and the preservation of rights of legitimate sex workers. The sex workers rights movement is important in understanding the position sex workers have as workers and members of a community tainted by illegal trafficking. Human sex trafficking is the movement of people, by force, into the sex trade, or other forced labor. Yes, sex workers should have their profession considered as a legitimate sector. Yes, human sex trafficking should be stopped. While both of those things are true it is important to consider all aspects of both to form a movement directed at the two, rather than focus on strictly one or the other. A movement that is geared towards creating an even ground between the rights of individuals to use their sexuality to make an honest living, and the protection of individuals from the exploitation of that very same sexuality, is pivotal in the continuation of protecting human rights across the globe. By examining how several, very different, countries deal with sex work and human trafficking, we can attempt to understand how we can move forward with a new more complex ... Apart from these classic hallmarks, increasing evidence has demonstrated uncontrolled glial activation and neuroinflammation in AD brain may contribute independently to neural dysfunction and cell death (Akiyama et al., 2000; Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002). Robust activation of microglia has been found in and around the area of amyloid plaques in the AD brain, and reactive astrocytes have been shown to form a halo surrounding the amyloid plaques (Itagaki et al., 1989; Ho et al., 2005). Additionally, numerous proinflammatory factors have been reported to be elevated in both patients with AD and transgenic animal models of AD (Griffin et al., 1989; Akiyama et al., 2000; Ruan et al., 2009). Whether alleviation of neuroinflammation will offer therapeutic benefit for AD remains unclear. Epidemiological studies show a possible association between suppression of inflammation and reduced risk for AD (in t Veld et al., 2001; Vlad et al., 2008). Therefore, drugs targeting neuroinflammation might provide benefits for the prevention and treatment of this devastating disease. In the central nervous system, microglia and astrocytes are the major type of glial cells, and activation of these cells has been involved in all neurodegenerative diseases (Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002). However the culminating physiological effects of these chemicals may trigger a cascade of changes within the Alligator mississippiensis (American Alligator) population, ultimately causing an ecological shift that is contrary to the natural course of evolution. By altering the body s hormonal balance on a chemical level, endocrine disruptors can result in morphological changes to hormone dependent organs, which could in turn significantly disrupt the animal s growth, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1980, a chemical spill in the area nearly decimated the American Alligator population of Lake Apopka and resulted in a multitude of negative effects years afterword from which the population has not yet fully recovered (Arcand Hoy and Benson, 1998). This is primarily blamed on the long term effects of endocrine disruptors that were introduced into the system. Either by mimicking natural hormones and binding to hormone receptors, or by blocking the binding of natural hormones to hormone receptors, endocrine disruptors are able to alter how natural hormones are produced and used (Oberdorster and Cheek, 2011). Because hormones are responsible for maintaining many bodily functions, changing hormonal concentrations will disturb the body s natural balance and produce abnormal morphological changes to hormone dependent organs (Arcand Hoy and Benson, 1998). Morphological Effects on Body Size For example, thyroid hormones are necessary for proper development of the central nervous system and skeletal systems. Therefore, changes in thyroid levels would produce morphological changes in brain and bone tissue. In Lake Apopka, studies have proven that the greater the concentration of thyroid hormone, the smaller the alligator s body size as a result of skeleton malformation. In contrast, an increase in the concentration of steroid hormones has been proven to produce a larger body size (Crain et al., 1998). In another hormonal study, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another precaution is if the blood that is injected does not come from the person it is being injected into there is a possibility of getting a disease such as AIDS. Blood doping is nearly impossible to discover in tests because the athlete is usually injecting their own blood into their system. The increased hemoglobin and RBC in the body can be accredited to high altitude workouts (working at high altitudes for extended amounts of time can increase hemoglobin and RBC s). The ideological elements that films contain, and the purposes that these ideologies serve, are similar to the function of religious ideologies (Lyden 2003: 3). This is possible through films creation of their own realities. The Atlantic, Atlantic Media Company, 30 Mar. 2017, www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2017/03/the virtues of isolation/521100/. The Virtues of Isolation , written by Brent Crane, states that under the right circumstances being alone can provide significant psychological help. The article stated that scientists often associate isolation with negative outcomes due to it having adverse effects on the minds of children. However, when it is voluntarily pursued, it can be shown to have significant befits some would even say its therapeutic. That temporarily isolating yourself gives you a chance to take a step back and take a good look at yourself. It alleviates the stress on our everyday lives and lets us relax. That the difference between solitude as therapy and solitude as misery depends on the quality of self reflection that a person experiences, and the ability to reintegrate into social groups when their ready. Edmonds, Molly. What are the effects of isolation in the mind? HowStuffWorks Science, HowStuffWorks, 6 Apr. 2010, science.howstuffworks.com/life/inside the mind/emotions/isolation effects.htm. What are the effects of isolation in the mind? discusses the scientific aspect of what transpires in our brains when we are lonely vs non lonely. Writer Molly Edmonds tells us how The University of Chicago researchers conducted an experiment to see how lonely people s brains react to certain stimuli as opposed to that of a non lonely person. Both the lonely and non lonely subjects were shown photographs of people in both pleasant and unpleasant settings. When viewing the pleasant pictures, the non lonely subjects showed much more activity in a section of the brain known as the ventral striatum than the lonely subjects. The ventral striatum is a part of the brain that deals with learning and part of the brain s reward center. The lonely subjects showed less activity in this region of the brain while viewing the pleasant pictures and unpleasant pictures. The results left researchers wondering whether loneliness rewires the brain to function differently or if the brain inclines certain people to feel isolated. Khullar, Dhruv. How ... The International Monetary Fund ( Imf ) Introduction In the statement of the 2015 Article IV Consultation Mission to China, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded that the Chinese economy was transitioning to a safer and higher quality growth. In particular, the IMF highlighted that China had made good progress in recent years in reducing its large current account surpluses and its huge accumulation of foreign exchange reserves. Although undervaluation of the yuan was a major factor causing the large imbalances in the past, the appreciation of the yuan over the past few years had brought the yuan USD exchange rate to a level that was no longer undervalued. Exchange rate, the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency, indicates the value of a currency: a higher exchange rate is associated with a relatively lower value of its corresponding currency. Since Chinese goods are usually valued in yuan, the only currency that is valuable for Chinese is yuan. That is, a Chinese is only interested in selling and purchasing goods in yuan. Foreign consumers, such as Americans, have to use yuan rather than dollars to purchase goods from Chinese sellers. Specifically, an American must exchange his dollars into yuan at first and then uses yuan to purchase Chinese goods. This will consist of four stages, firstly an introduction comprising of a definition of religion by Durkheim will occur. Secondly a comparison and contrast of the approaches by Freud and Durkheim to the study of religion, as well as the strength and weaknesses of these approaches and lastly a presentation of a conclusion will occur. A number of problems are often encountered when dealing with the study of religion, the foremost problem has to do with defining religion. For instance, definitions that attach and limit religion to simply a belief in God/gods tend to be vague as well as narrow and to some degree not entirely accurate. This is mainly because definitions like the one mentioned above neglect to take into account atheistic religions that do not believe in God/gods. This is illustrated in a definition provided by the oxford English dictionary, Action or conduct indicating belief in, obedience to, and reverence for a god, gods, or similar superhuman power; the performance of religious rites or observances. There are many advantages to buying a home. However, it is not for everyone and buying varies from individual to individual. Currently more people are leaning towards renting but this could change in the near future. When someone makes the decision to buy or rent a home they must consider the advantages and disadvantages of each. In buying a home the primary advantage is that you actually own it. You can do whatever you want with it. Also, you are building equity as the years go by. People today have problems saving for their future (CNN Money, 2014). However, when they buy a home, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You might be better off paying a reasonable amount for rent and saving your money when buying seems more logical. Also, it depends on lifestyle preferences. Some people may not want to do all the work that comes along with owning a home. As of right now many people are leaning towards renting. This is because the market is going down. Some don t want to commit to a mortgage if when they go to sell they can t find any buyers. It is likely that the renting trend will decline and buying will increase in the future but it is hard to say when. However, if rent keeps rising and prices keep falling, fearful buyers could slowly become bargain hunters. (Business Week, 2014). I feel that people will eventually get tired of spending there money on rent and will want to invest more in there future. I don t think that the real estate market will ever be a boom again. I believe that people have learned that just because interest rates are low doesn t mean they can financially take on a mortgage. Overall, buying a house is a big decision and should be looked at carefully. You should look at the advantages and disadvantages of each and decide what is best for you in your life. There is no way to pin point if buying or renting is best for anyone. Currently many prefer to rent their homes. However, as rent rise, a majority may soon change their minds. ... • 40. Radio Station Beliefs I Believe in Playing a Different Radio Station There are so many different radio stations out there, but it is very common for one to choose a very particular radio station. The ever popular is FM radio and the song that many people play the most is WIIFM. I believe in playing a different radio station. Knowing that I am going to go to college in just two years I have the pressure to get involved in the community and as expected my most listened to radio station decided to play. I was shocked and surprised, as many people, that there was no physical outcome from what I was getting myself into, but I stepped outside of my comfort zone and played a different radio station. Unusually I enjoyed and it felt like I drank a nice hot cup of cocoa on a bitter cold day. It was very much unexpected and the feeling was indescribable, it felt as if that song was just stuck in my head and I couldn t get it out. But this wasn t an irritating feeling. I could sleep at ... Weather it s a simple jazz or a complicated rap and sell those albums to let others see the little good still left in the world. Playing a different radio station is essential in one s life, and even if there is no materialistic result there is still that fire that glows from within. The world is already so cruel and as generations come they are becoming worse and worse, and that radio station is becoming part of the most listened to station, 24/7 AM to FM. So, what I need to do is rewind and go back to the days where people were sympathetic. Change starts with the man in the mirror and I have vowed to myself that I will change my mentality and rarely listen to WIIFM. I never understood that I was playing that same radio station over and over again, and without even thinking I would play it and I wouldn t be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Modern Definition Of Hero In Beowulf According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, the modern definition of hero is a person admired for achievements and noble qualities or one who shows great courage. Over centuries people s views of what they consider a hero has transformed. Alfred de Vigny s claim that there are no heroes and no monsters in this world makes it clear that he defines hero in a different way. Despite de Vigny s claim that there are no heroes or monsters today, I believe there are, due to the selfless acts made by various people everyday and the ghastly felonies committed by others. The definition of hero has evolved to become more relevant in the world today and many people from recent centuries have done heroic deeds both large and small. A common ... They were acclaimed for strength, for kindly guidance (line 1219) by being recognized for large accomplishments they completed, like Beowulf when he defeated Grendel. Many heroes receive praise, but not all are noticed. They may do small things and do not expect recognition, but their actions still play a role in the outcome of a good event. Critics may argue that there are no heroes in the world today because they do not fight in actual battles against an enemy to defend a certain area or group of people. However, there are many ordinary people that do extraordinary things every day. Current heroes save and help people in numerous ways with their undaunted courage (line 572), like that of Beowulf. Military personnel help defend their country in a way similar to that of a warrior. They put their lives in danger to protect the rights and safety of those from their country. Firefighters and police officers also risk their lives for the safety of others. Doctors, nurses, and paramedics respond to those in need of medical care and save many lives. Obviously these people are heroes according to today s terms because of their selfless acts, but there are even smaller things that people can strive to do to be a hero to someone. The main purpose of breasts Is to breastfeed a child after birth. I came across The Milk Truck while back. The Milk Truck is there to create a mobile breastfeeding unit that allows mothers to feed their babies in places where they have been discouraged restaurants, shopping malls, public spaces, etc. Babies should be able to eat anywhere, and everywhere . I am absolutely for breastfeeding in public. Breastfeeding is when a woman feeds her child from her breast. Breastfeeding has been around since before the 15th century. In addition to strengthening the bond between a mother and her baby, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some states have laws so strict that asking a nursing mother to stop, cover up, or move elsewhere is a violation of her civil rights and gives her grounds to sue for damages in a court of law . Babies who are not breastfed in places other than home will eventually become used to only being fed in one place. Therefore the nourishing mother will basically become house bound. It is important for women to get out of the house following birth, so they don t become depressed and feel cut off from the rest of the world. According to The American Academy of Pediatrics The AAP recommends that babies be exclusively breastfed for about the first 6 months of life. Babies should continue to breastfeed for a year and for as long as is mutually desired by the mother and baby . During these first 6 months the mother should be dedicated to supplying breast milk whenever and wherever she and her infant feel appropriate. Why should a mother be segregated from her everyday life during her nursing period just to make others feel comfortable ? For the most part women cover themselves with a shawl, a wrap, or a cover of some sort while breastfeeding. If not they make sure that they are not exposed in any way. Breastfeeding saves everyone money. According to Opposing Views A conservative 2001 report estimates that at least $3.6 billion in health ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
