Steve Jobs Impact On The Modern World
In the garage of a childhood friend, Steve Jobs began his ventures as an inventor, creating a device
that would mimic a telephone computer. This was definitely an illegal invention as it allowed free
long distance calls, but its creation paved the path to Steve Jobs successful career as an
entrepreneur. With the help of Steve Wozniakand Ron Wayne, Jobs founded one of the most
successful companies of his time and now the most successful company in the country. With his
death in 2011, there is no doubt that Steve Jobshas left a tremendous imprint on the modern day
world. Steve Jobs has changed our world drastically and it is evident through the new and
innovative technology still to date being released by Apple, a company he founded over 40 years
ago. Steve Jobs career in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This device led to the founding of Apple in April of the same year. This computer wasn t hugely
successful but former Intel executive, Mike Markkula, saw the determination of Jobs and potential
his company had. After his investment, the group developed the Apple II, which quickly became
the first mass produced personal computer in 1978. This was just the first popular Apple innovation
of many. Moving forward to the twenty first century, Jobs devices still continued to astonish the
public. One of the company s biggest innovations the iPhone was not only the first phone with a
multi touch display, but also one that s main components have continued into devices of the
present. The iPhone has been so successful that 13 models have been released to date since the
first generation iPhone was released in 2007. Personally, I am an avid user of Apple products as
are the majority of high schoolers in the United States. With the exception of Mac devices created

Drivers Of Stability Of Mali
DRIVERS OF STABILITY IN MALI Percy L. Jones II MCCC 04 15 July 30, 2015 Drivers of
Stability in Mali The West African country of Mali has from time to time been mired in un ending
overlapping humanitarian, political, economic, and security crises. Notably, the situation in the
country became worse when the government was destabilized and later overthrown in a 2012
military coup. Following the coup, insurgents were quick to capitalize on the resulting power
vacuum and seize a greater portion of this country s vast sparsely populated north. As of 2013, a
number of loosely connected extremist groups including Al Qaeda were in full control of most
towns in the northern region. It is estimated that the region that has from time to time fallen under
their control is as large as Texas. In as much as the number of insurgent combatants (mainly Islamic)
seems to be relatively small, they are now notorious, and have become more entrenched. The
seriousness of their entrenchment is boosted by the fact that they have gone as far as ousting a
separatist group of ethnic Tuaregs that had initially been very influential, even in recruiting
members among locals. Meanwhile, the nominally civilian dominated government (based in the
capital Bamako) formed in the post coup period continues to be weakened gradually by continuous
internal wrangles and military interference. In addition, years of mega corruption and
mismanagement seem to have stagnated progress in many state

Child Abuse And Neglect
When you re a kid you should still have so much hope because you have not seen the tragedies in
the world. Imagine just for a second that before you were even five, you had to take care of
yourself. As a toddler you felt unloved and neglected. Each year 5.5 million children experience this
feeling, not just for a second, but throughout their childhood. Neglect is childabuse, as well as
physical abuse, sexual abuse, and emotional abuse. Child abuse is awful because it causes the
child to feel worthless, to lose trust, and to have serious psychological problems early on in life.
Neglect is the most common form of child abuse. The parentor caregiver fails to provide basic needs
for the child. Neglected children are constantly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sexually abused kids are plagued by feelings of shame and guilt. The child usually feels
responsible which makes it particularly hard for them to come forward. Sexual abuse can lead
to self hate and feelings of worthlessness. This can lead to troubles with future relationships,
especially intimate ones. They easily pull away from touch and are very self conscious. Self
hate can lead to a lot of different psychological problems. Sexual abuse can also lead to PTSD,
panic attacks, and even eating disorders. More than ten percent of adults reported being
emotionally abused as a child. They are constantly told they are no good, worthless, and a
mistake. They start to believe it and it hurts them a lot mentally. Yelling at the child is not an
uncommon occurrence. The child gets an earful of all the reasons they are worthless. They don
t know who won t hurt them or who will. The kids don t know if they can trust anyone to be a
positive influence in their life. Emotional abuse can lead to depression and self hate. Like all
abuse, it destroys people mentally. Some kids have already lost hope because of abuse. They have

Society s Influence On American Culture
How does American society define one s self worth? By how they look, what they drive or simply
what they buy? In today s consumer centric American culture, our goods represent us as Americans
as well as the American cultural identity that revolves around materialistic goods. In which a
typical American works from 9am 5pm to earn a sufficient amounts of money to buy and display
his selfworth through a variety of cleverly advertised goods. In which the advertisement depicts a
perfect world that is free of pain, suffering, where the typical American can escape his routine life
and experience ephemeral freedom . To this very purpose of freedom that our founding fathers
wrote the constitution to which today s conformities ideals and societal norms have suppressed....

by breaking the societal façade and undergoing a transformation to his true identity in a
conformist society. By examining Fincher s use of the Hero s journey, symbols and depiction s in
his film Fight Club, it is clear that Fincher claims that the path to self discovery is imbedded in our

Management Styles
The management culture provides the developing direction of a company. It decides the
characteristic and company culture in an enterprise. However, the style can be influenced by certain
factors, such as, policy, history background, social system, international competition. In this essay,
three management styles and two company types will be indentified and discussed.
Management style belongs to management strategy; it can be composed of operation strategy,
company culture and managers. To be specific, different management styleshave distinct
characterizations, which can be divided many particular aspects. For instances, Asian styles of
management is originated from western styles; however, Asian styles and western styles have ...

This situation can be explained by Chinese mood. Wang (2010) indicated that the cultural
background, policy and economic conditions of the country have suffered Chinese managers to
confuse the existed management styles, which requires a new way to get accustomed to modern
market. Moreover, some internal and external factors should be considered between Chinese style
and western style.
Paternalism style is used widely in Chinese state owned company. Firstly, the influence of
management style in China is competition. Obviously, as a most potential international market,
more and more western companies enter the local market, like Wal Mart. The external retail
companies including Hong Kong companies have possessed almost retail market in China. In this
circumstance, small sized private company cannot compete with magnates; only the state owned
enterprise can rely on the policy to rival magnates in this area. The reason is that western large scale
companies have developed over many years; some of them have even existed for many centuries,
such as Mercedes Benz. It has long history, 110 years, in the automotive industry, and has a mature
management style and company culture. China also has own automotive industry named Shanghai
Automotive, which has been established 30 years, but the quantity of sales are better than
Mercedes Benz in China, because the company imported the advanced technology and brand, such
as Volkswagen; and it

Rhetorical Devices Used In Alice In Wonderland
The Many Meanings of Alice in Wonderland Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the
Looking Glass, written by acclaimed British author Lewis Carroll, have enchanted people young
and old since their publications. Mr. Carroll uses many rhetorical devices to enhance these two
fairytales including but by no means limited to irony, symbolism, theme, metaphor, alliteration, and
ambiguity. Many types of irony are used throughout Alice s Adventures in Wonderland in particular.
One example of a particular form of ambiguity seen frequently is the use of homophones.
Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings such as air and heir .
Alice encounters this variety of obscurity first in chapter three after she has fallen down that fateful
rabbit hole. Situational irony in this story begins when Alice... Show more content on

In chapter three, Alice and several animals including a mouse, a duck, a dodo, a lorry, and an
eaglet were soaking wet after escaping the sea of tears that Alice had previously cried. When
discussing how they were to get dry again, Mouse spoke up. This is the driest thing I know. he
said. Mouse then began to speak in a monotonous tone about William the Conqueror and other
dull or dry things. (Wollner) Since this was obviously unable to get the group out of their soggy
state, Dodo suggested that they run a Caucus race. A caucus in politics is similar to a political
party, and a race is a contest between people, in this case for votes. The caucus race in this
fairytale is a literal race course in which There was no One, two, three, and away! but they began
running when they liked, and left off when they liked, so that it was not easy to know when the
race was over. . When Dodo decided that the race was over, he awarded prizes to everyone. This
use of ambiguity pokes fun at the political caucuses and elections of Lewis Carroll s time period.

American Sniper Research Paper
The american sniper is a very awesome topic that i wanted to write about for my last year. The
reason why i wanted to do it is because i have four relatives in the army marine and the navy and
the Airforce. So i want us to remember the sniper which is chris kyle he was a very awesome
and couraging person to me. when me and my dad went to watch the movie i didn t move one
time except for a drink and food.so i hope you have a chance to watch the movie american sniper.
Chris kyle was a character that would do anything for the freedom. When i heard that the

The Impact Of Immigration On United States
The Impact of Immigration on United States (U.S.) Economy
Introduction
In recent times, migration has been a major point of discussion at different international fora.
According to the United Nations (UN), more than 175 million people, about three percent of world
s population, live and work permanently outside their countries of birth (UN, 2002).
The changing faces of European migration, at the beginning of the new millennium is different
from those of fifty years ago. Also, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Europeans emigrated
greatly, but nowadays the impact of immigration has become a significant economic and social
phenomenon in many previous emigration countries.
In America, research has shown that many Americans have the opinion that the current U.S.
immigration is defective. However, it is to be noted that more consideration should be given to the
impacts of immigration on the U.S. economy. Many immigrants have come in the U.S. legally and
around eleven million unauthorized immigrants currently live and work in America. Also, each of
these immigrant groups affects the U.S. economy in different ways and this should be given
necessary attention in the current debate around immigration reform (Greenstone et al, 2009).
Furthermore, immigrants now comprise more than twelve percent of the American population, and
the percentage is said to be increasing by the day.
This research work therefore seeks to investigate the economic impacts of immigration on the U.S.

The Baseball Player Alex Rodriguez
In 2014 the famous baseball player Alex Rodriguez was suspended for the season due to testing
positive for using performance enhancing drugs. The Yankees star continuously denied any
allegations connecting him with the steroids but eventually claimed to be using products from a bio
anti aging clinic in order to treat an injury. According to an article written by Allen St. John, he has
tested positive for both Primobolan and excess testosterone(St. John, 2009). Eventually, Alex
confessed to using steroids to avoid any more persecution and in hope that it might save how
people viewed his career. Over the course of the situation Alex Rodriguezchose to handle the
situation in a manner he deemed would conceal the truth from everyone. This in turn may cause a
great deal of baseball fans to question his contribution to the sport as they further learn the details
about his extensive use of steroids over the course of recent history.
Student Insight
Alex Rodriguez has faced a lengthy amount of criticism primarily due to the way the situation
was handled. One of the ways he tried combatting the allegations was to deny it in front of the
public and criticize the MLB for trying to portray him as cheater. According to a CNN article
written by Ray Sanchez, Rodriguez claims he was the target of an MLB witch hunt (Sanchez,
2014). He consistently stood by this position making him look like a victim of career sabotage.
This was a poor way of dealing with the allegations because once he

Relaxed Hair Is Better Than Natural Hair Essay
Many people have compared natural hair and relaxed as both being healthy. I strongly agree that
natural hair is healthy for various reasons. I agreed to that because you not using the chemicals
that you use for relaxed hair. For natural hair all you need is water, wild growth and moisturizer.
Relaxed hairmake your hair look very thin also you using perms which has chemicals that s not
healthy for your hair. Some women think relaxed hair is better than natural. Why is that ? It s
because they think when your hair natural it s very unlikeable. Natural hair has all the components
to grow healthy, long, and thick hair.
Natural hair does grow healthier than natural hair because you do not use chemicals to harm
your hair. Black women discover their natural kinky hair. Natural hair is thicker because your
hair follicles are textured. Yes I can say when you wash your hair and try to detangle it, it s a
challenge to do. Natural hair is healthier because it doesn t stripped away your hair. With natural
hair keep your scalp moisturized. Natural hair curl pattern is very pretty. I think going natural
gives your hair a better chance to grow since it isn t being damaged by chemicals. Relaxed hair is
bad because some people flat iron they hair every two weeks, that s not good because heat can
break your hair off.
Many women spend so much money on there relaxed hair. Relaxed hair is very expensive when
you go to the salon every 2 weeks. After a women decides to go natural, she will not go

Walgreen Company Case Study
Based on the tables above, the company consisting of the shortest cash to cash cycle is Walgreen
Company. On the contrary, the longest cycle is contained by Rite Aid. Therefore, there is a
leaner operation in Walgreen compared to both CVS and Rite companies. When compared to the
two companies, Walgreen is less liquid. Due to the reduced period of cash to cash cycle, there is
more operating investment in disposal to be used in Walgreen when compared to CVS and Rite.
By considering cash to cash cycle, the best performing company is Walgreen, followed by CVS
and finally Rite Aid.
The highest return on assets from the tables above is 23.8%, which belongs to Rite Aid. CVS
follows with 6.25%, and lastly, Walgreen has 5.20%. Therefore, the most rewarding assets belong to
Rite since they achieve a higher return on investment compared to the other two companies. Out of
the three companies, Walgreen has assets with the lowest returns on investment. Basing return on
assets results, Rite Aid has the best performance, followed by CVS and finally Walgreen Company.
The highest probability is that Rite Aid knows how to utilize its resources to the optimum to

If CVS were to start operating on a lean philosophy, various processes would become faster, e.g.,
order to cash receipt process. This would, in turn, speed up activities such as invoicing process,
response to overdue bills and the billing errors would be minimized (Oliveira Fernandes, 2017).
Reduction in cycle time and error rates would avail more cash for paying suppliers as well as
redeployment of the business. Consequently, inventory levels would reduce while the turnover
would increase. A speeder cash collection would also be achieved with shorter cash to cash cycle.
Therefore, it would be better for CVS to operate

War Of 1812 Affected Susanna
How has the war of 1812 affected Susanna? This war has completely changed everything about

The Population Bomb
Throughout human history scholars have been publishing works that discuss the correlation and
effects of exponential growth and carrying capacity on a population species. Exponential growth
is described as the increase of a population (or of anything) by a fixed percentage each year
(Withgott, Laposata, and Murck 2016), whereas carrying capacityis the maximum populationsize
that a given environment can sustain (Withgott, Laposata, and Murck 2016). Three notable authors
to contribute to the topic of exponential growth and carrying capacity are Thomas Malthus, Paul
Ehrlich, and Mathis Wackernagel. Of the three authors, Reverend Thomas Malthus undoubtedly had
the most controversial solution to the problem of population growth. Malthus urged... Show more

The Ideal City In Plato s The Republic
In book II of The Republic, Glaucon has yet to be convinced that being just is better than being
unjust. (Cooper, Plato: The Complete Works , 357) He wants Socrates to further explain why
justice should be valued both in itself and for the consequences that come from it. (Cooper, Plato:
The Complete Works , 358b) Socrates thinks that best way to this would be to theorize how justice
would look in an ideal city. Socrates main goal from this point until book IV is to build this city
theoretically and explain how justice acts upon this ideal city. For this paper, I am going to argue
why this city is not completely good by explaining why I would not choose to live in it.
First, Socrates needs citizens that are specialized in a particular trade, ... Show more content on

Although I find myself agreeing with many of the positions that Socrates holds in The Republic,
this idea of this city is certainty not one of them. On the outside, the idea of a city run by
educated and philosophical intellectuals who are incapable of being corrupt sounds
outstanding. But once you begin to understand the details of how this city will be founded and
maintained, it becomes obvious that this is a city which relies heavily on fascism and
authoritarianism. I think these details start to become apparent when Socrates begins speaking
on the stories that will be told to the guardians. The fact that the guardians are only permitted to
hear certain stories shows that they really don t have any freedom over their soul or mind. They
are like a product that is carefully manufactured to serve a very specific purpose. They are
designed to basically be cogs in the machine, instead of living any kind of fulfilling life. In fact,
it seems like everyone in the city is basically meant to be a cog in the machine. My next huge
problem is Socrates choice to lie to all the citizens by making them believe the narrative about the
metals. This is fundamentally wrong. Each citizen of a just city should be given every opportunity
to seek out truth. Instead, Socrates chooses to deter these citizens from finding any truth. That is
completely unjust, even if it is for the good of the city. I also find it quite disturbing

The Whale Rider Hero Journey
The theory The ritual of a hero by Lord Raglan fits Paikea life exactly because it fits most of the
criteria of the theory. In the movie, The Whale Rider Paikea life follows four of the six stages
talked about. The stages include the situation of the hero birth are quite unusual and or traumatic.
The father unsuccessfully tries to do away with the infant hero. The child is raised by surrogate
parents, but upon maturing, he returns to the land of his father. The hero battles his father and is
victorious. (Indick, Williams) In the opening scene of the movie, you can see Paikea s mother
giving birth to twins. One a boy and one a girl. The tradition of the Whangara people, the first born

Biography Of Miles Davis Essay
Biography of Miles Davis
Born on May 26, 1926, Miles Davis is considered to be one of the most influential jazz musicians
in history. Being a trumpeter, keyboardist, composer, and band leader, Miles is responsible for
the popularization of many styles of jazz throughout his long and prolific career. Miles Dewey
Davis was born into a well to do family in the town of Alton, Illinois. The family owned a large
portion of a farm where Miles learned to ride horses as a young boy. In 1927 the family moved to
East St. Louis. Miles mother, Cleota Henry, encouraged him to play the violin while his father
bought him a trumpet when he turned thirteen and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of keeping with his studies, Miles was more concerned with his career as a musician in
a band. Miles made some of his first recordings in 1945 and also joined Charlie Parker s quintet.
Though Miles was not as developed during this time, his style was already easily recognizable and
distinguished. In 1949, Miles had the opportunity to lead a band which consisted of nine players,
also known as a nonet. The band used non traditional instruments in a jazz setting. Many consider
this to be the birth of. That same year Miles visited Europe and played at that year s Paris Jazz
Festival in May. Because of his contact with people in the New York Clubs, Miles became
addicted to heroin. Because of this, in 1953, Miles returned to his father s farm and remained
there until his addiction was broken. In 1954 Miles made a number of important recordings, and
began to utilize the Harmon mute which darkened the sound of his trumpet. Miles used this mute
throughout the rest of his career. 1955 was perhaps one of the most important years of Mile s
career. Miles played one his most popular solos ever for Thelonius Monk s Round Midnight at the
Newport Jazz Festival. Miles was almost immediately popularized and continued to sign a record
deal with Columbia and form his first quintet.

Determining The Success Of A Restaurant Business
The menu is the fundamental element in determining the success of a restaurant business. Each
customer may have their individual dietary preferences, but the basis of a menu depends on
universal requirements in human nature. A human is intrinsically an omnivore with a diet of both
meat and plant proteins. The omnivore s paradox or dilemma refers to the contradiction of
omnivores having both the sense of neophilia, the inclination and craving for exploration and
variation but at the same time limited by neophobia, the fear of the uncertainty of a foods edibility.
The incorporation principle referring to how a food effects a person physically and
psychologically. Understanding how the omnivore s paradox works and how the incorporation
principle influences customers will help chefs putting together a menu create something that
caters to a wide range of customers and dietary requirements. The omnivore s paradox raises the
issue of how a chef can create a menu that is both interesting and sellable, catering to the balance
of mankind s fear of danger and need of novelty, and how the dishes they produce can meet and
exceed the customer s expectations. This essay will explain the omnivore s paradox, its
relationship to neophilia and neophobia, and their influence on a commercial chef. The
incorporation principle will be explained in relation to a customer s decision making. It will also
cover how the omnivore s paradox and incorporation principle effects the boundaries of food in

With increased innovation in VR technology on the way, it is clear that how online casinosconduct

Unconventional Approach
Technically RACE 2015 had no headline speaker, but most seems to attach such title to Tal Itshak
Ron. His presentation drew the biggest crowd, largely as he addressed to underlying issues within
the industry to a great extent. Key to his speech was the niche and more unconventional online
casinos that have emerged. He discussed the validity of the concepts that many of these casinos
represent, along with how key they are to industry landscape diversity. Bitcoin was another issue
placed under the spotlight, as he discussed how it could change how the industry functions in the
years to come.
RACE 2015 Awards
Obviously, as with any congress or expo these days there is an award ceremony incorporated into
proceedings. The awards at RACE have become highly coveted, largely as they stand as a symbol
of industry excellence. This year 9 different awards were handed out, with each award seemingly
as coveted as the last. The most prominent award from a marketing perspective went to BETCART,

any special diet restrictions, whether personal or medical choices. We also ask the patient if there

A Report On Aluminum Recycling
Aluminum recycling is the process by which scrap aluminum is reprocessed to be used in products
after its initial production. Aluminum producers and recyclers in the aluminum industry work with
individuals, businesses, and communities to enable both curbside and industrial recycling
programs. For most aluminum products, the metal is not consumed during the products lifetime,
but it is simply used making it easy to recycle without losing its intrinsic properties. Used beverage
container (UBC) recyclingis the most recognized of the aluminum recycling programs. However,
end of life recycling of certain products like building parts and cars allows for the production of
recycled materials like window frames, wire, tubing and electronic parts. The following is step by
step process of aluminum recycling:
Collection of Scrap Aluminum
Drinks cans, aluminum foil trays, and aerosol cans are collected from homes, streets and garbage
collection centres by hired individuals or business people who major in aluminum collection. They
are sometimes mixed with steel cans. The scrap aluminum is then collected together and then it is
transported to the treatment plant.
Sorting
The mixed metals (aluminum and steel cans) are taken to a materials recovery facility where they
are cleaned, sorted into different metal streams and later compressed into bales. This step is very
important in ensuring that the aluminum is separated from other metals. It is important to point out
that drink cans

Themes Of The Princess Bride And Diablo 3 And Billy Budd
In literature, there are many written works which have themes that intermix with one another.
While literature contains many themes, this does not mean that other works do not contain the
same ideas as presented in written works. In the three stories of The Princess Bride , Diablo 3
and Billy Budd Violence and Quests can be seen largely throughout each tale. Violence, while still
having the tradition sense of the word, does not always mean fighting someone or physical attacks.
Violence thematically is the display of aggressive actions verbally, physically, or even aggression
leading to a goal. The other overarching theme in these stories is that of a Quest. Any self realizing
adventure where the protagonist realizes is considered a quest thematically as well as a large set
goal for as seen within the story. The main themes of The Princess Bride, Diablo 3 and Billy Budd
are Quests as well as Violence which show a deep connection on a thematic level.
In The Princess Bride by William Goldman the story starts both as an explanation of the story s
origin as well as where the story should go. Even in this prolog to the story a quest is outlined.
And I realized that I had let control of it go. . . They could change anything they wanted. So I did
something of which I am genuinely proud. I bought the book back from the studio, with my own
money (Goldman xxxv). Even before the story begins a quest was set before the reader. The quest

Cultural Diversity in America Essay
America is greatly influenced and enhanced by the many versatile cultures which inhabit it.
Cultural diversity has added to our economy in such a way that it brings innovated ideas and
contact structures throughout the world. International cuisines have come to America through
subcultures, have expanded the food industry, and have allowed English Americans to try new
foods and flavors. Immigrants have brought with them religious values that greatly differ and vary
from those at which were natural in the main stream American culture. The educational
development through foreign nationals has led America, as a nation, to excel and be deemed one of

Foreign nationals bring with them the tastes and delights from their own country. Presently,
Americans have such a wide selection of foods to choose from including but not limited to
Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Greek, Thai, and Japanese. In the agricultural industry, researchers
have taken domestic plants and bred them with international plants to create a more desirable
embryonic plant which grows to have only the best characteristics of the two plants. This
idealistic technology wouldn t have been deemed possible if it wasn t subject to the vast array of
cultural diversity to challenge the standard characteristics of domestic vegetations. Along with any
nation in the world, comes a variety of religions. The English founded this nation on Christianity;
however, numerous people today denounce this monotheistic belief and instead have put their
faith in beliefs brought to this country by foreigners. This assorted variety allows believers to
choose a religion which better suits their beliefs and practices, and gives individuals a choice on
spiritual fulfillment in their lives. These religious beliefs combined with the democratic state of
the nation have led to public displays of religious celebration in America. Ramadan, Yom Kippur,
Kwanzaa, Christmas, Cinco de Mayo, and Hanukkah have been a few of the celebrations brought
to America via immigrants. Some of the most celebrated and famous revels include St. Patrick s

Analysis Of A Political Cartoon, By Marc Murphy
This a political cartoon made by Marc Murphy that address both black history month and
Journalist Laura Ingraham s remark to basketball player Lebron James. Murphy put this cartoon
together to show the similarities of Ingraham s comment and the bus racial struggle in the 50s.
Lebron James was having an interview and discussed many things such as family, personal growth
and the racial issues he had encountered (his home was graffitied with racial slurs). Ingraham had
a very interesting response to his interview. She called him Barely intelligible, ungrammatical, and
ended up telling him to Keep the political comments to yourselves. ... Shut up and dribble. The
other half of this political image says shut up and sit back there which refers to the struggle of bus
sitting in the 50s. African Americans were forced to sit in the back of the bus while whites could sit
in the front. These two events are tied together with the image of shackles representing the
restrictions many African Americans face in America. Furthermore, it has more of impact because

Persuasive Speech On Government Reform

President for twelve months, and what is the result? You have systematically broken all your
promises and failed your constituency. Over a year ago, voters were whisked away in your
fantasies of greater America, and now they are all rendered sober by the new reality. You give
strength to your rich friends and donors, while the people who voted for you, who hoped of a
stronger, more prosperous economic future, are victims of your latest tragic endeavor.
Within this past month, you have vehemently advocated for the new tax plan, which intends to
drastically cut taxes, while broadening the base . You promised to eliminate unwanted loopholes,
tax breaks, and special favors. You assured voters that there would be a new tax system, where
less time and energy would be wasted on gaming the system to reduce taxes, and for a tax system
that would become fairer. However, this plan is not fulfilling your promises, because it will cut too
many taxes without raising enough revenue to support the government. This will result in hurting
the middle class, while creating a devastating deficit. Thirty seven out of thirty eight economists

Blake s The Marriage of Heaven and Hell Essay
Blake s The Marriage of Heaven and Hell
The Nature of my Work is Visionary or Imaginative; it is an Endeavor to Restore what the Ancients
calld the Golden Age. William Blake (Johnson/Grant,xxiv).
William Blake completed the manuscript of The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, as well as the
twenty five accompanying engraved plates, in 1792. In the sense that the The Marriage of Heaven
and Hell is a vision of a particular version of reality, it subscribes to one definition of the mythic,
but also fulfills another as Birenbaum writes in Tragedy and Innocence: ...on a more specialized

Blake uses traditional symbols of angels and devils, animal imagery, and especially images of fire
and flame to: 1) set up a dual world, a confrontation of opposites or contraries which illustrate
how the rules of Reason and Religion repress and pervert the basic creative energy of humanity, 2)
argues for apocalyptic transformation of the self through the radical regeneration of each person s
own power to imagine (Johnson/Grant, xxiv), and 3) reconstructs Man in a new image, a fully
realized Man who is both rational and imaginative, partaking of his divinity through creativity. The
form of the poem consists of The Argument, expositions on his concepts of the contraries and of
expanded perception which are both interspersed with Memorable Fancies that explicate and
enlarge on his expositions, and concludes with A Song of Liberty, a prophecy of a future heaven on
earth.
Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and
Repulsion, reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are
necessary to Human existence.
From these contraries spring what the religious call
Good Evil. Good is the passive that obeys Reason.
Evil is the active springing from Energy.
Good is Heaven. Evil is Hell.
(MHH, pp. 66 7)
One of the main themes of The Marriage of Heaven and Hell is the confrontation of the grand
oppositions of orthodox Christian doctrine: Heaven and Hell, good and evil,

Another type of acquisition is a reverse merger, a deal that enables a private company to get
publicly listed in a relatively short time period. A reverse merger occurs when a private company
that has strong prospects and is eager to raise financing buys a publicly listed shell company,
usually one with no business and limited assets. The private company reverse merges into the
public company, and together they become an entirely new public corporation with tradable shares.
Regardless of their category or structure, all mergers and acquisitions have one common goal: they
are all meant to create synergy that makes the value of the combined companies greater than the
sum of the two parts. The success of a merger or acquisition depends on whether this synergy is
achieved.
Motives behind M A
These motives are considered to add shareholder value:
В•Economies of scale: This refers to the fact that the combined company can often reduce duplicate
departments or operations, lowering the costs of the company relative to theoretically the same
revenue stream, thus increasing profit.
В•Increased revenue/Increased Market Share: This motive assumes that the company will be
absorbing a major competitor and thus increase its power (by capturing increased market share) to
set prices.
В•Cross selling: For example, a bank buying a stock broker could then sell its banking products to
the stock broker s customers, while the broker can sign up the bank s customers for

Technology makes a lot of sense but it it s not realistic because anyone could violate the terms and

Seven Deadly Sins
The Christians faith believes that Jesus Christ is god but in the flesh. Also that Jesus died on the
cross in Jerusalem carrying the sins of the world. Christians also believe that whoever calls on the
name of Jesus can be saved.Christians also believe that the only way you can be saved and not
perish and go to hell for all eternity is through JesusChrist and surrendering your life to him and
becoming a born again christian. To be born again christian you must let god define you and
make you a better sinless person. you To be saved and to not perish you must also repent from your

Muslims also believe that no one is better than each other because Allah created everyone equal
Another belief the people that are a part of Islam do is fasting. One month each year Muslims
participate in the month of Ramadan. In Ramadan you fast which means that you don t eat when
the sun is out. The purpose of Ramadan is so you could understand and know what it feels like to

Is Activity Based Costing ( Abc ) Essay
The first cost system of this part of this essay is activity based costing (ABC). Cooper and Kaplan
(1988) implemented ABC for taking care of issues of Traditional costing frameworks.
For allocating costs, Tradtional costing uses a single number like the machine hours or the direct
labour hour, also cost allocations are volume based. Comparing ABC with Traditional Costing
Systems, ABC include all activities for a product, to making it easier to more accurately measure
and allocate costs (Cooper, 1990; Cokins, Strat ton, Helbling, 1993).
It moves away from assigning costs to individual products but rather to activities or processes,
which allows for assigning a larger part of overhead costs to specific cost units (Cooper Kaplan,
1988; Friedman Lyne, 1997).
Also important to know is that ABC define all the company activities as value adding or non
value adding activities (Cooper Kaplan, 2005). Non value added activities create waste, result in
postponement, add expenses to the items, or for which cost clients are not willing to pay. ABC
helps an association in discovering chances to streamline or lessen the expenses, or wipes out the
whole movement, particularly if there is no esteem added viewpoint to it (Drury, 2012).
Many have the believe that ABC is better than Traditional Costing because ABC say more about
the driven costs, and can split on any single activity and receives so more accurate cost details
(Akyol, Tuncel, Bayhan, 2007; Kee, 1995). As per this,

This was definitely an illegal invention as it allowed free long distance calls, but its creation paved the path to Steve Jobs successful career as an entrepreneur. With the help of Steve Wozniakand Ron Wayne, Jobs founded one of the most successful companies of his time and now the most successful company in the country. With his death in 2011, there is no doubt that Steve Jobshas left a tremendous imprint on the modern day world. This computer wasn t hugely successful but former Intel executive, Mike Markkula, saw the determination of Jobs and potential his company had. After his investment, the group developed the Apple II, which quickly became the first mass produced personal computer in 1978. This was just the first popular Apple innovation of many. Moving forward to the twenty first century, Jobs devices still continued to astonish the public. One of the company s biggest innovations the iPhone was not only the first phone with a multi touch display, but also one that s main components have continued into devices of the present. • 3. Drivers Of Stability Of Mali DRIVERS OF STABILITY IN MALI Percy L. Jones II MCCC 04 15 July 30, 2015 Drivers of Stability in Mali The West African country of Mali has from time to time been mired in un ending overlapping humanitarian, political, economic, and security crises. Notably, the situation in the country became worse when the government was destabilized and later overthrown in a 2012 military coup. Following the coup, insurgents were quick to capitalize on the resulting power vacuum and seize a greater portion of this country s vast sparsely populated north. As of 2013, a number of loosely connected extremist groups including Al Qaeda were in full control of most towns in the northern region. It is estimated that the region that has from time to time fallen under their control is as large as Texas. In as much as the number of insurgent combatants (mainly Islamic) seems to be relatively small, they are now notorious, and have become more entrenched. The seriousness of their entrenchment is boosted by the fact that they have gone as far as ousting a separatist group of ethnic Tuaregs that had initially been very influential, even in recruiting members among locals. Meanwhile, the nominally civilian dominated government (based in the capital Bamako) formed in the post coup period continues to be weakened gradually by continuous internal wrangles and military interference. In addition, years of mega corruption and mismanagement seem to have stagnated progress in many state ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sexual abuse can lead to self hate and feelings of worthlessness. This can lead to troubles with future relationships, especially intimate ones. They easily pull away from touch and are very self conscious. Self hate can lead to a lot of different psychological problems. Sexual abuse can also lead to PTSD, panic attacks, and even eating disorders. More than ten percent of adults reported being emotionally abused as a child. They are constantly told they are no good, worthless, and a mistake. They start to believe it and it hurts them a lot mentally. Yelling at the child is not an uncommon occurrence. The child gets an earful of all the reasons they are worthless. They don t know who won t hurt them or who will. The kids don t know if they can trust anyone to be a positive influence in their life. Emotional abuse can lead to depression and self hate. Like all abuse, it destroys people mentally. Some kids have already lost hope because of abuse. This situation can be explained by Chinese mood. Wang (2010) indicated that the cultural background, policy and economic conditions of the country have suffered Chinese managers to confuse the existed management styles, which requires a new way to get accustomed to modern market. Moreover, some internal and external factors should be considered between Chinese style and western style. Paternalism style is used widely in Chinese state owned company. Firstly, the influence of management style in China is competition. Obviously, as a most potential international market, more and more western companies enter the local market, like Wal Mart. The external retail companies including Hong Kong companies have possessed almost retail market in China. In this circumstance, small sized private company cannot compete with magnates; only the state owned enterprise can rely on the policy to rival magnates in this area. The reason is that western large scale companies have developed over many years; some of them have even existed for many centuries, such as Mercedes Benz. It has long history, 110 years, in the automotive industry, and has a mature management style and company culture. China also has own automotive industry named Shanghai Automotive, which has been established 30 years, but the quantity of sales are better than Mercedes Benz in China, because the company imported the advanced technology and brand, such as Volkswagen; and it ... Rhetorical Devices Used In Alice In Wonderland The Many Meanings of Alice in Wonderland Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, written by acclaimed British author Lewis Carroll, have enchanted people young and old since their publications. Mr. Carroll uses many rhetorical devices to enhance these two fairytales including but by no means limited to irony, symbolism, theme, metaphor, alliteration, and ambiguity. Many types of irony are used throughout Alice s Adventures in Wonderland in particular. One example of a particular form of ambiguity seen frequently is the use of homophones. Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings such as air and heir . Alice encounters this variety of obscurity first in chapter three after she has fallen down that fateful rabbit hole. Situational irony in this story begins when Alice... Mouse then began to speak in a monotonous tone about William the Conqueror and other dull or dry things. A caucus in politics is similar to a political party, and a race is a contest between people, in this case for votes. The caucus race in this fairytale is a literal race course in which There was no One, two, three, and away! but they began running when they liked, and left off when they liked, so that it was not easy to know when the race was over. . The Impact Of Immigration On United States The Impact of Immigration on United States (U.S.) Economy Introduction In recent times, migration has been a major point of discussion at different international fora. According to the United Nations (UN), more than 175 million people, about three percent of world s population, live and work permanently outside their countries of birth (UN, 2002). The changing faces of European migration, at the beginning of the new millennium is different from those of fifty years ago. Also, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Europeans emigrated greatly, but nowadays the impact of immigration has become a significant economic and social phenomenon in many previous emigration countries. In America, research has shown that many Americans have the opinion that the current U.S. immigration is defective. However, it is to be noted that more consideration should be given to the impacts of immigration on the U.S. economy. Many immigrants have come in the U.S. legally and around eleven million unauthorized immigrants currently live and work in America. Also, each of these immigrant groups affects the U.S. economy in different ways and this should be given necessary attention in the current debate around immigration reform (Greenstone et al, 2009). Furthermore, immigrants now comprise more than twelve percent of the American population, and the percentage is said to be increasing by the day. Socrates main goal from this point until book IV is to build this city theoretically and explain how justice acts upon this ideal city. Although I find myself agreeing with many of the positions that Socrates holds in The Republic, this idea of this city is certainty not one of them. On the outside, the idea of a city run by educated and philosophical intellectuals who are incapable of being corrupt sounds outstanding. But once you begin to understand the details of how this city will be founded and maintained, it becomes obvious that this is a city which relies heavily on fascism and authoritarianism. I think these details start to become apparent when Socrates begins speaking on the stories that will be told to the guardians. The fact that the guardians are only permitted to hear certain stories shows that they really don t have any freedom over their soul or mind. They are like a product that is carefully manufactured to serve a very specific purpose. They are designed to basically be cogs in the machine, instead of living any kind of fulfilling life. In fact, it seems like everyone in the city is basically meant to be a cog in the machine. My next huge problem is Socrates choice to lie to all the citizens by making them believe the narrative about the metals. This is fundamentally wrong. Each citizen of a just city should be given every opportunity to seek out truth. Instead, Socrates chooses to deter these citizens from finding any truth. That is completely unjust, even if it is for the good of the city. I also find it quite disturbing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aluminum producers and recyclers in the aluminum industry work with individuals, businesses, and communities to enable both curbside and industrial recycling programs. For most aluminum products, the metal is not consumed during the products lifetime, but it is simply used making it easy to recycle without losing its intrinsic properties. Used beverage container (UBC) recyclingis the most recognized of the aluminum recycling programs. However, end of life recycling of certain products like building parts and cars allows for the production of recycled materials like window frames, wire, tubing and electronic parts. • 29. Themes Of The Princess Bride And Diablo 3 And Billy Budd In literature, there are many written works which have themes that intermix with one another. While literature contains many themes, this does not mean that other works do not contain the same ideas as presented in written works. In the three stories of The Princess Bride , Diablo 3 and Billy Budd Violence and Quests can be seen largely throughout each tale. Violence, while still having the tradition sense of the word, does not always mean fighting someone or physical attacks. Violence thematically is the display of aggressive actions verbally, physically, or even aggression leading to a goal. The other overarching theme in these stories is that of a Quest. Any self realizing adventure where the protagonist realizes is considered a quest thematically as well as a large set goal for as seen within the story. The main themes of The Princess Bride, Diablo 3 and Billy Budd are Quests as well as Violence which show a deep connection on a thematic level. In The Princess Bride by William Goldman the story starts both as an explanation of the story s origin as well as where the story should go. Even in this prolog to the story a quest is outlined. And I realized that I had let control of it go. . . They could change anything they wanted. So I did something of which I am genuinely proud. I bought the book back from the studio, with my own money (Goldman xxxv). Even before the story begins a quest was set before the reader. The quest of a man to have the book he loved ... The form of the poem consists of The Argument, expositions on his concepts of the contraries and of expanded perception which are both interspersed with Memorable Fancies that explicate and enlarge on his expositions, and concludes with A Song of Liberty, a prophecy of a future heaven on earth. Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion, reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human existence. From these contraries spring what the religious call Good Evil. Good is the passive that obeys Reason. Evil is the active springing from Energy. Good is Heaven. Evil is Hell. The private company reverse merges into the public company, and together they become an entirely new public corporation with tradable shares. • 43. Is Activity Based Costing ( Abc ) Essay The first cost system of this part of this essay is activity based costing (ABC). Cooper and Kaplan (1988) implemented ABC for taking care of issues of Traditional costing frameworks. For allocating costs, Tradtional costing uses a single number like the machine hours or the direct labour hour, also cost allocations are volume based. Comparing ABC with Traditional Costing Systems, ABC include all activities for a product, to making it easier to more accurately measure and allocate costs (Cooper, 1990; Cokins, Strat ton, Helbling, 1993). It moves away from assigning costs to individual products but rather to activities or processes, which allows for assigning a larger part of overhead costs to specific cost units (Cooper Kaplan, 1988; Friedman Lyne, 1997). Also important to know is that ABC define all the company activities as value adding or non value adding activities (Cooper Kaplan, 2005). Non value added activities create waste, result in postponement, add expenses to the items, or for which cost clients are not willing to pay. ABC helps an association in discovering chances to streamline or lessen the expenses, or wipes out the whole movement, particularly if there is no esteem added viewpoint to it (Drury, 2012). Many have the believe that ABC is better than Traditional Costing because ABC say more about the driven costs, and can split on any single activity and receives so more accurate cost details (Akyol, Tuncel, Bayhan, 2007; Kee, 1995).
