Eleanor W. Traylor begins by explaining the fallacy in thinking that ragtime was the first and foremost
contributor to black theatre art in America. She argues that the source of all that can be called
representative American theatre is Aframerican (47). In other words, she elaborates, there were two
kinds of ceremonies and narratives pervasive to black theatre before ragtime. The minstrel show is one
example. The article stresses that the minstrel show was not invented by white plantation owners, but
that the minstrel show was a failed attempt at satirical imitation. The real minstrel show came from the
Afro American magic circle of creation (Traylor 48). In the same page, she argues that their African
American Minstrel show had its roots in African tradition, specifically, the Yoruba tradition. In this
tradition, the mask is wood until it becomes the mask in motion. Somehow, this mask got translated
into blackface, into a tool for hiding rather than a tool for revealing. The mask used in African
American minstrelsy would reveal the spirit of the mask wearer. Yoruba music would be wholly

Spring Break Narrative
I remember cooling on the block, with just a couple of my goons. We was smoking till we choked and
looking for a wave. This was the first day of spring break. The previous day my cousin was telling me
about how he had a hoe who was cool with the oppositions. I wasn t really worried about it, but little
did I know she was going to come in handy later on. It was just one of them days we was looking to
drill something. This particular opposition was one me and the set had problems with for years now.
There were many recent altercations with him. His name was Malachi, his hood name was Flash Petty,

Imagine strolling to the local grocery store, taking a morning run, or merely gathering the daily mail
wearing a mask as a shield against gassy smog. Think about the terror that strikes some people when
they turn on their faucets only to see a string of tainted, brown solution. Pollution affects thousands of

faces depletion. Automobiles and other forms of transportation emit dangerous toxins, along with

contributes generously to contamination, as well. Even natural disasters play a momentous role in air
pollution as exhibited by sulfur dioxide, a volcanic gas that kills those who come in contact with it and

My Research topic is a comparative study to evaluate the effectiveness of Bowen Technique and
Positional Release Therapy on Trapezitis.
Trapezitis is the inflammation of the trapezius muscle which gets aggravated by activity and even at
rest. It is a very common condition seen in practically most of the individuals. Trapezitis has serious
implications like neck pain, reduction in the range of motion, stiffness etc. It s very commonly seen in
students, people working for long time on computers, Excessive driving etc.
The positional release technique is one of the technique used in Physical Therapy which has been
proven to help Trapezitis. Bowen Technique is a soft tissue manipulation Technique which is also
found to be beneficial in pain reduction. There hasn t been a comparative study done on both the
techniques.Hence I would like to do a comparative study to see which is more effective in Trapezitis.
There is paucity in literature with regards to effectiveness of Bowens technique on Trapezitis.
The less number of research articles on this topic facilitated me to conduct a study on this topic. This
research study will help me clinically in applying the results of this study to my patients in the clinic.
