- 1. What are you currently doing to pursue a career in your chosen field? I'm currently building up a portfolio or a collection of images that are of the style I would like to pursue as a career and challenging myself to start projects and bodies of work that I will continue to add to for along as I can portfolios are great to show to universities and to take to job interviews as it shows your work and style.
- 2. What do you plan to do next in the pursuit of your chosen field? Once I have finished my course at college I would love to move into university to study photography in more depth and the styles I would like to do as a job and university is the best place to learn these skills and get the qualifications I need to move into a full time job
- 3. Select at least three potential University courses that would help you further your career aims. You should state what the course is, which university it is run by, the entry requirements and why you think it would help you.
- 4. What type of work experience do you think you would need to help you in your future career? How might you be able to find work experience placements? If you could pick anywhere to do work experience, where would it be and why? I think becoming an apprentice to an already well worked photographer in the industry you like is always a good idea as you can learn from them helping them set up for shoots and go to places with hem and see how they manage their work practically. You can also learn a great deal from one on one tutoring with someone who knows lots in the field. If I could pick anywhere to work it would be to be an apprentice for one of my favourite photographers Nicholas jr white he specialises in projects that span over a few years about mainly the British landscape and the impact we have on the world and I think there would be lots to learn from someone who knows that much about their craft
- 5. What specific skills do you need to develop? There should be a mix of industry specific skills and also personal development points. When you identify these, come up with suggestions as to how you might make those improvements. The skills I need to develop will be getting comfortable with reaching out to people for projects or help as with photography you need to get permissions to go to places and may need help with lots. I also need to develop my skills with software as that’s a massive part of taking photos and publishing them learning fully how to use photoshop and others. I also need to develop my own personal ideas with photography taking he time to think out plans for photos and take my time to make sure what I'm doing is the best I can
- 6. In 5 years time I will… Be working on a course at university still developing my skills maybe working under another photographer from the same filed as me learning as much as I can and trying to get my qualifications to get a job when I leave hopefully will have built up a big portfolio by then.
