sections Section A must be kept separate from Section

  • 2. Read through the pack. On A3 – you are going to fully plan your answers to each evaluation questions. You will need to use your journal.
  • 3. Q1- In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? What are the conventions you will evaluate? Eg masthead, image, straplines, sell lines, pugs, banners etc Front cover conventions Contents conventions DPS conventions Don’t forget: signs and signifiers, mise en scene, font styles and sizes, layout, how your pages signify the music genre, costumes, props, make up, locations, text YOU DID ANSWER THIS IN YOUR JOURNAL – COPY IT AND DEVELOP IT ON TO THE A3
  • 4. Q2 - How does your media product represent particular social groups? Social groups : class, wealth, streets, towns, cities, rural, housewives? Communities/ fan base/ lifestyle? Age: child, teen, single parents, homosexual, parents, grandparents, old, young, middle aged Friendships - Work colleague groups - Associations Disability, health, representations of professional bodies Cultural groups and ethnicity – USE YOUR JOURNAL – CHALLENGE- add in representational theory
  • 5. Q3- What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? You will need to look at your blog here – if you didn’t do this research properly in the first place, you will find this difficult. Find all your handouts on Guardian group, Bauer, Development Hell etc – that will help you to plan this.
  • 6. Q 4 – and Q 5 do these two together. Q4- Who would be the audience for your media product? Q5 - How did you attract/ address your audience?
  • 7. How did you attract/ address your audience? Camera – what kind of shots did you take to appeal to who? Give a specific example Features? Content? Cover stories? Language and formality? Adobe Elements 11 – how did you layout your pages to appeal? How did you edit shots to attract your TA? Give a specific example Combining images and text – did you use text wrapping to make your pages look more interesting – give a specific example. Social networking sites for TA research
  • 8. Q6 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? You should have an extensive list in your journal. Consider ALL you have used. List these on the A3. You will need to give specific examples and detail.
  • 9. Q7- Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? It must be an account of your journey!
  • 10. Now consider HOW you will answer each question and post it on your blog. 1. Text and cutaways 2. Flow chart 3. Prezi embedded in blog 4. Ppt on slideshare embedded on blog 5. Audio recording – you could learn how to put this on FinalCutProX and then add images to it – this would really challenge you and give you prior knowledge for A2. 6. Screen recording 7. Annotated pages

This must be posted to your blog for next Monday. Additionally! Some of you need to come up to Media this week and improve/ finish pages. Some of you need to speak to me about missing research & planning posts – this was your Christmas homework.
  • 12. Folders and journals every lesson Make sure your class notes and work is collated and organised. We will begin the exam lessons on Friday. Your exam class work will need to be kept in two sections Section A must be kept separate from Section B.
