Adam created several products for his group project over 9 weeks, including fake app screenshots, logo designs, and a short film. For his individual project, he chose a fantasy theme and researched photographers for inspiration. He planned and filmed footage in local woods, editing it into a black and white video with a dark, dreamlike tone. Throughout the process, Adam worked on evaluating his work and publishing the final products to his website.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Week 1
In this first week as a team we worked on building an audience by finding out what our age
demography liked one of the ways we did this was making a PowerPoint where we all picked
a social media platform and found out as much as we could about them and how they used
their audience to adapt.
We also made a survey for people to answer questions all about what they value, what their
age was and even what kind of hobbies they have. I think trying to understand the audiences
values it really opens up ideas to be able to connect with the audience in a more in-depth
way.
3. Week 2
This week we focused more heavily on the research document. I looked at artists and
photographers that I thought had styles that would be welcome on our social media
platform and made slides talking about them and showing off some of their work. I also
worked on the proposal document with my team which we then realised we only
needed one for all of us so we decided to use elisabeths as it was the most detailed
and explained our product well. We also worked on some logo designs to choose some
ideas from which will help out with our planning a lot.
4. Week 3
This week we started our group project production so we all split to make a product each so I
made a couple of fake screenshots that our app could look like for our product based off
Instagram. I did all this in Photoshop and the 1st one I made was the standard scrolling feed look
where you can see everyone's posts and comments, then the 2nd one I made was a screenshot
of what your account page would look like with your username and all your photos laid out.
The rest of my group made a website design for our brand and then a ident in aftereffects
which is a short video for our brand that looks really good with some music to go with it, all our
products match with our theme so I think they are all really good ways to show off our subject.
5. Week 4
This week we stared working on our solo parts of the project which was researching products/people
that relate to what we wanted to make. We had to pick a theme from a list of words and the one I
chose was fantasy as I had a few little ideas of what I could make in terms of a video and photo
project.
So I decided to research photographers that I thought had fantasy elements in their work like Dylan
Hausthor and George Muncey as both of these photographers had similar work to what I wanted to
make and they gave me lots of ideas. So I started compiling images and ideas into my research
document to get myself ready to make something.
6. Week 5
This week I focused on my planning and research where I started looking at fonts I might want to use and ideas for how my work
was going to look so I decided to go with a black and white video.
I had also fully decided on what I planned to make which was a short film which uses video and still images to portray the
fantasy elements of growing up in small villages in Britain as this was a big thing for me as a young teen as I was big into fantasy
book and films so I couldn’t help but carry that over into real life like imagining how the woods at night would be full of
creatures or fantasy monsters and how as kids I would like to build stick forts to hide away in and play with my friends.
I also wanted to lean into a darker theme for this project by having an eerie tone to it all with a lot of the video and images shot
at nigh time with techniques that portray it in a dreamlike nostalgic way.
So with the fonts I researched I wanted to have them have a little bit of a folklore old British style to them but to also have a bit
of a creepy tone too so I dug around online and found a good set to choose from.
7. Week 6
This week I finished off my planning and got on with filming.
For the planning I did some mock up ideas of a opening title screen with some images that I thought were
similar to what I wanted to produce and I put my new found fonts over the top of them as tests this helped
me decide on which font I was going to use for the final video.
I then moved onto filming and collecting images for the short film, I had already got some images from my
portfolio that worked with this project so I recycled them but I also went out into the local woods in my
village to fins some spots that I had spent time as a young teen building fires and dens.
8. Week 7
This week was the final week of production so I needed to
get my final edit done so I spent the 1st half of the week
collecting more footage to bulk up the video from just the
still images this meant going out in the night with my flash
kit and getting images with hard flash against the dark trees
this really works with the style I wanted so I'm glad it worked
out how I wanted the images just needed editing to fit with
the rest of my footage to keep it all consistent.
I also spent this week fully building my video getting all of it
as one solid piece of work which took up most of my class
time and free time this meant getting all the black and white
consistent in each shot and also making it seem like one nice
flowing film. This was the week I struggled the most as
getting the images to convey what I wanted was quite hard.
I managed to get my film done this week on time and started
my evaluation
9. This is some work I did on creating a blur and slow zoom effect on my opening using key
framing I wanted the edges of my opening to look distorted as the whole title page thing
looked a bit basic and looked like it was missing something but using this blur makes the edges
look really nice and also makes the viewer focus on the centre of the screen where the title
text is. I then didn’t want it to just be a still image so I key framed the background to have a
really slow zoom on it just to make it not a still image as it didn’t suit the personality of the
work I'm trying to make. I think the blur adds a lot of depth to the opening and really fits the
style I'm going for as you can really see the difference on the next slide where I compare the
two styles.
11. Week 8
This week I carried on with my evaluation writing about the whole experience of making my project making sure to
go into detail as its something I've struggled a lot with on previous projects as I'm not the best at self evaluation as
I'm never too keen on my own work as it doesn’t usually end up how id fully envisioned.
I also used this week to catch up on my website getting everything from this project published so it could be seen
making sure it all looked neat on my Wix.
12. Week 9 final week
This week I needed to get everything completed and up on my wix site as we were starting
the fmp next week so I couldn’t hand anything in late so I started finishing off my
evaluation doing lots of writing in the most detail I could and made sure it was up to good
standard which took most of the week even doing some at home then I made sure
everything that I had done was looking good and uploaded and arranged it all onto my wix
site ready to be marked overall I was happy with this project and had a lot of fun with it
even though I wasn’t sure my video was that good but all the research and time making it
was great and would like to do more things like this in the future
