whichiscommonamongstimageswithinthisgenre.The use of darkclothesalsosuccessfully
supportsstereotypesof Indie-rockartists,becausemostare shownwearingdarkclothes –which
probably reflectthe emotiontheyhave inside of themorare refusingtoshow on their face.
Narrative –There appearsto be no narrative shownuponthisdigipack. However,the case seemsto
suggestthatthe membersare withinaspace that appearsto lackflaws.Thisishintedatby the
backgroundbeingabright colourandhavinga plaintexture toit.
Iconography – Dark clothes – supports stereotype of being in a almost constant brooding-
like state. However, as the group is also based in the Pop genre – it would contrast against
the stereotype of all artists wearing bright, unique clothing. This goes against stereotype as
most artists within this genre attempt to distinguish themselves with a specific style of
clothing, fashion or colours.
Settings – Plain background, goes against stereotype of Pop genre. Most digipacks or CD
cases have backgrounds that are usually bright, colourful and busy. This goes against
stereotype by being plain, lacking any type of activity (besides the group) and having bright
colours or buildings in the backgrounds.
