will be in a white dress, which is against stereotypes of the indie-rock genre. This is against
the stereotype as the colour white portrays innocence, which hints that she’s unaware of
the situation taking place around her. This is different as most music videos from this genre
dress the female in a provocative manner. However, she will have make-up on which
supports the negative stereotype of females attempting to impress the opposite gender.
The male protagonist will be wearing dark clothes as part of the narrative. The use of dark
clothing supports the stereotype of the rock genre as they commonly wear clothing items
that are dark in colour. The use of dark clothes also helps to make the protagonist stand out
against the mise en scene, as it will mainly be filmed outside. There will be a secondary male
character, who is also wearing the same items of clothing as the male protagonist. His facial
expression will mainly be seen as ‘cocky’ or self-assured. The purpose behind this character
is to create an antagonist within the music video, he will be seen in the stereotypical way –
as a ‘player’ and one who has low moral values.
