The PSPF eludes organizations to the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)

Effects Of Plastic Surgery Among Teenagers
Plastic Surgery amongst Teenagers is on the rise In the year 2015, where here in the United States
following the lastest celebrities has become an influence on many teens across the Unites States, what
I mean by influence is plastic surgery. You see it everywhere it s on TV, on billboards, on the radio and
all over the magazines. It seems as if everything a well known celebrity does teens want to do also.
And what celebrity has gotten done to enhance herself teens often look at this as what they should
want or get too. But besides the beauty enhancement you can get from plastic surgery there are many
downfalls to surgery that many teens often forget about or don t know ... Show more content on

With all these risks, why do people still go through with this dangerous procedure? I don t think it s
worth it. But according to the opposing article www.platicsurgeons.com if patients go through the
procedure the affects will be long term and you will get what you want. In my opinion with dangerous
risks including losing your life it isn t worth it. Plastic surgery may raise self esteem, but often does
not. Many teens don t realize even the most beautiful people, including celebrities, are insecure about
their appearances. And getting plastic surgery cannot fix all of your problems. Many teens get plastice
surgery for unrealistic reason, such as to fit in with other peers or to keep up with lastest celebrities, or
to attempt to improve their physical appearance as said in the article www.wtvq.com/health the media
is the main influence that is at fault. There are all sorts of things that require maturity and judgment.
According to the Wikipedia Encyclopedia the frontal lobe of the brain does not fully develop until the
20s to 30s. That portion of the brain controls decision making, and understanding consequences. This
is another reason why teenagers should not have plastic surgery. Therefore teenagers should not
undergo the plastic surgery when you are young and surgeon should not touch the body that is not yet
fully grown. Plastic surgery is a dangerous idea for teenagers as their decision

First And Second Language Acquisition Essay
Language acquisition is the process of receiving and producing the languages they should understand
well the words and the sentences to communicate with each other. It is the process whereby children
achieve a fluent control of their native language. The first language is defined as the primary language
not necessary mother tongue which the speaker first acquires and use. There is a great difference
between first and second language acquisition. First language acquisition refers to the way children
learn their native language. Second language acquisition refers to the learning of another language or
languages besides the native language
The acquisition of language
Is doubtless the greatest intellectual feat anyone of us is ever required to perform
Leonard Bloomfield,
Language (1933)
People can live their life without learning reading or writing, but they can speak, understand and
discuss their ideas and thoughts. All the children can understand some words and sentences which
they never heard before. They have a great and perfect theory of language, which able them to make
and understand the grammar of the language they hear. No one tells the children how to make a
sentence by using verbs and nouns, no one tells them how to form plurals, and they can do that by
themselves depending on what they hear from adults or others. They also get and acquire language
through the interaction with others. Every human being is able to learn the language because it is a

Compare And Contrast Versions Of Little Red Riding Hood
Little Red Riding Hood is a European fairy tale about a young girl and the big bad wolf with origins
that can be traced back to the 17th century. There have been many different interpretations written of
the story. Little Red Riding Hood by Charles Perrault and Little Red Cap by Brothers Grimm are just
two of the many contrasting renditions. The two tales are similar, but they are also different. The
variations of the story translate the same lesson to be learned at the end. Amongst various versions of
the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale authored by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, the
interaction that the little girl has with the wolf symbolizes the expressional meaning to not judge a
book by its cover.
The little girl is the main character in each of the stories. She is recognized as the prettiest, most
lovable girl in the village. She is known as Little Red Riding Hood in Perrault s version. On the other
hand, she is referred to as Little Red Cap in Grimm s version. She acquired her name because of
always wearing her little red hood/cap all the time. The person who loved and adored her most of all
was her grandmother.
Grandmother lived deep in the woods in another village in both stories. Grandmother made a little red
hood for Little Red Riding Hood in Perrault s version. On the other hand, she made a little cap of red
velvet for Little Red Cap in Grimm s rendition. Grandmother is ill at home in bed in both stories.
In both tales, the little girl lived

Television s Impact On Television
One part of television that has always been a constant in a lot of programs is family. More particular,
the family sitcom and family dramas have been around for years and are still around today. Family
television shows are great programs for everyone due to the fact of being very family oriented.
However, the way families were portrayed when television first started out has changed drastically
with how some families are portrayed now. The evolution of the way families are viewed on screen
and off screen can be portrayed throughout the years on television. One television show that aired
from 1951 1957 was the series I Love Luc. This series was about a husband and a wife and their lives
together. They were a typical family in the 50s. Lucy stayed at home being a housewife at first while
Ricky would go out to work (Smith). The series even showed them sleeping in separate beds at that
time because we as the audience weren t allowed to see a couple sleep in the same bed. Later in the
series, Lucy became pregnant which wasn t a very common thing to show on television, especially at
that time (Garrison).
Typical families shown on television in the 1950s were a mother, father, and their children. One show
that started to break the mold was My Three Sons which premiered in 1960 and aired until 1972. My
Three Sons was about a widowed father raising his three sons on his own with the help of the kids
grandfather (Taflinger). In a matter of only ten years the family sitcom had

Prayer in Public School Essay
In the heart of every religion, there is a way to express one s deepest thoughts and feelings prayer.
Prayer is something that most people due naturally. Whether it is in the morning before you start your
day, before a meal, before you go to sleep, or when you just feel the need to express your feelings,
prayer is always there. Religious faiths believe that this is central to human life. Even those who are
not religious pray. Prayer affects the material universe. Prayer can be defined as an earnest request; a
humble entreaty addressed to God, to a god, etc (Webster s). We are allowed to pray publicly
anywhere, as long as we don t pray out loud. Yet we all live in a society that does not allow prayer
inside public schools. Prayer is also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students are also free to organize Bible study and other religious interest clubs if any other secular
clubs are allowed. Religious clubs must be given the same access to the schools facilities. Group
meetings also must be voluntary and student initiated. Students can also engage in a moment of
silence during which they can pray, meditate, plan their day, or engage in any other silent mental
activity (Religioustolerance). Religious freedom is one of the most important traditions and
constitutional rights that we as Americans have.
Throughout the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s public education across the United States continued to
include considerable religious context. In colonial New England the earliest standard text was the New
England Primer, which taught younger children to read and count using biblical references: The letter
A was taught with the phrase In Adam s Fall we sinned all, and P was illustrated with Peter denies His
Lord and cries (Andryszewski 13 14). Beginning around 1913 and continuing through the first half of
the twentieth century, state governments across the country decided to standardize and write into law
the practice of Bible reading and prayer in their states public schools. By mid century, nearly all of the
states permitted some form of Bible reading or formal prayer in public schools. By the 1950 s school
prayer was commonly practiced

Shrek Ogre Analysis
An ogre named Shrek is mad at Lord Farquaad for putting all fairy tail creatures in his swamp. He
goes to his castle with an annoying donkey to make him get rid of the creatures. Lord Farquaad makes
him a deal. He tells Shrek to go save Princess Fiona so she can be his wife and he can become king. If
Shrek does this, he can get his swamp back. Princess Fiona is in a castle far away and she has a curse
on her. The curse says that she will turn into an ogre every night until she has true love s kiss. When
Shrek saves Fiona, he falls in love with her. When Shrek gets back to the castle, Lord Farquaad takes
Fiona and he proposes to her and she says yes. When the two are about to get married, Shrek objects.
Fiona shows Shrek that she is an ogre just like him and tells him that she loves him. Shrek and Fiona

The castle has pointed tips and windows. It also has flying buttresses. Another thing it has are tall
spires and a gloomy look to it. Therefore, the castle would be classified as Gothic. Relating to the
castle where Fiona is captures, the textbook tells us that gargoyles are carved figures that serve as
waterspouts that drain water from the roof. Gargoyles also include other grotesque carvings associated
with Gothic. It says that flying buttresses are stone arches that carry most of the weight of the roof, so
the massive thick walls are not needed. Tall spires reached high in the sky to the heavens and over
took the landscape. The cathedral Notre Dame de Paris began in 1163. It took artisans centuries to
complete. (268). At Lord Farquaad and Fiona s wedding, there are big stained glass windows in the
background. The tips of the windows are pointed. The windows also have several designs on them.
These qualities would make the windows

Diffusion Of Altruism Essay
This paper looks at the theories relevant to the diffusion of prosocial behavior as it spreads through
social media. Altruism is delineated from other types of prosocial behavior because it is directly
related to empathy. The two theories of motivation for prosocial behavior are the Empathy Altruism
Hypothesis and Social Exchange Theory. These two motivational states outline the paradox of
altruism, which infers that selfless behavior can provide benefits to those engaging in it. When looking
at the chasm in the Diffusion of Innovation, presented by Everett Rogers, these theories can be applied
in order to accelerate the diffusion across the chasm. Messages that elicit empathic responses should
target the innovators and early adopters. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first opinion lies in the Empathy Altruism Hypothesis. This hypothesis, created by Daniel Batson,
studies altruistic behaviors and links their production to empathic concern for others (Batson, 2011).
Batson (2011) would argue that prosocial behavior can be elicited from empathic concern, whereas
others have argued there are only self serving processes at work. The alternate opinion comes from
Social Exchange Theory, which applies economic principles to social relationships (Miller, 2013). As
Shari Miller describes in her article from the Salem Press Encyclopedia, social exchanges happen
because people make choices that create maximum benefits and minimize personal disadvantages
(Miller, 2013). When this theory is applied to prosocial behavior as its primary motivation, the actions
can quickly be reduced to social behavior instead. The reductionist approach of Social Exchange spins
the motivations for any social behavior as purely self serving. While this may be true of some surface
level prosocial behavior, there is still the observation that it can be selflessly motivated. Empathy
generated altruism falls directly opposite of reward seeking prosocial behaviors. These two concepts
create a polarization in motivational states. The altruism paradox, is defined in the Salem Press
Encyclopedia of Health as the difference between prosocial behavior that is self serving and prosocial
behavior that is

The Sexual Revolution Of The 20th Century
When people learn that I practice and preach about chastity, many are taken back. It s not often that
you find a young, teenage girl unashamed in her choice to remain pure. I ve accepted that if I m going
to live a pure lifestyle, I can t expect the world to understand my decision.
And I blame it all on the sexual revolution.
Up to that point in the twentieth century, people were living in a prudish, unhealthy culture that
twisted our human sexuality into something that was looked down upon, as something to be ashamed
of. Repressing one s sexual desires simply does not work; that s not how we were built. (Remember
that whole made from love, created for love thing?)
The sexual revolution took the world by storm because they had been ... Show more content on

That is impossible in an environment that upholds works like Eve Ensler s The Vagina Monologues,
inviting people to reduce their self image to their anatomy. Likewise, there is no dignity in a society
that encourages touching another person s body but not allowing that person to touch your heart.
Chastity is not about locking ourselves up in a tower and wearing a steel belt all our days; it s being
freed from selfishness and the standards of our culture and growing in our capacity to love
authentically.
Chastity and abstinence are frequently confused with each other. Abstinence is merely abstaining from
all sexual encounters. Abstinence focuses on what you can t do and what you can t have. That
statement contradicts chastity. Chastity focuses and what can have and do have right now; a lifestyle
that brings freedom, respect, peace, joy, romance without regret. Because chastity involved purity in
many cases, some people think in means reverting to that puritan movement of sexual repression. ON
the contrary, it frees lovers up from that selfish attitude of using each other, making them capable of
true love. In fact, the Catholic Catechism states All Christ s faithful are called to live a chaste life in
keeping with their particular states of life. By states of life , the Church means that there is married
chastity and unmarried chastity.
What? How does that work?
Chastity is a virtue,

3.1 PESTEL Analysis The PESTEL analysis can be used to analysis the market environment in which
HTC operates in, they include: Political Factors and Legal Factors * Due to the high tech nature of the
industry, products from various companies are heavily patented and since similar technology is used
between manufacturers, infringement of these patents can lead to very costly lawsuits against the
company. * In 2008 as well 2010, lawsuits were filed against HTC by companies such as Apple and
IPCom claiming that HTC infringed upon their patents and demanded compensation such as to
prevent the company from exporting their products into certain countries (Datamonitor, 2011). *
Possible infringement of intellectual property in the future which if proven would result in large
compensation in money as well as damaging the brand image. Economic Factors * Since the company
operates on the global scale and since most of their revenue comes from international markets, HTC
would be positively or negative affected by fluctuation in the exchange rates. * Due to high operating
expenses overseas, such as high cost of labour and taxation, HTC s operating margins have dropped
from 19.9% in 2008 to 15.8% in 2010. However, these margins are considered low when compared to

Ap Euro Dbq French Revolution Calendar
The French Revolution inspired the desire for change and freedom from oppression. Being limited by
the Roman Catholic Church and government was no longer ideal, resulting in many new proposals. Of
these proposals was the notion of wanting to change the Gregorian calendar to a new and non religious
calendar, the Revolutionary calendar. This calendar was made strictly on reasons aimed to improve
France and change previous rituals. With the new system of different months and days, the adoption of
the calendar stimulated controversy between supporters of it and the opposition. Those in favor of the
calendar argued that in order to fully break away from the old customs of France and the church, there
must be a reform in all former things. This includes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The new calendar should not have changed because everyone was already used to the system of the
Gregorian calendar. Making a new calendar will confuse many and throw off schedules of customary
practices (Document 2). Abbe Sieyes responded with this because he was a clergyman who supported
the National Assembly, meaning that the new calendar could consequently result in hardships for the
lower class, which went against what Sieyes fought for. Adding onto this, the people of the lower class
will have a harder time with the new ten days in a week. Working nine out of ten of those days doing
hard labor is vigorous work that required all of their time. A peasant at this time would hate the
Revolutionary calendar because having only one day to take a break is not enough for one to fully
regenerate themselves after constant weeks of labor (Document 4). In addition, this calendar upset
many because it was imposed on the people by force, no one previously had a problem with the
Gregorian calendar (Document 5). Also, images of spiritual related objects will constantly be seen and
since the people were accustomed to religion, practices and traditions will never fade away (Document
6). Being a government official who resides in a French town will have first hand view of the rituals
among the people and will notice that the new calendar system is flawed. It was only a matter of time

Madison Cablevision Case Study
While public purpose challenges are still judged by the Madison Cablevision standard today, the
Supreme Court of North Carolina has refined the doctrine s scope. To start, the court in Maready v.
City of Winston Salem addressed whether a broadly constructed state statute allowing for local
economic development could meet the Madison Cablevision standard. Further clarifying the first
prong of the Madison Cablevision standard, the court in Maready held that whether an activity is
within the appropriate scope of governmental involvement and is reasonably related to communal
needs may be evaluated by determining how similar the activity is to others which this court has held
to be within the permissible realm of governmental action. Maready ... Show more content on

State, the court further clarified the sound basic education standard constructed in Leandro. In
addressing a claim that the state had failed to provide the students of Hoke County with a sound basic
education, the court examined a series of allegations made by the school board. The state claimed that
their actions met the Leandro standard through its combination of inputs i.e., expenditures, programs,
teachers, [and] administrators, which added up to be an aggregate that met or exceeded this Court s
definition of providing students with an opportunity for a sound basic education. However, the court
disagreed, holding that the existence of these inputs was not sufficient to meet Leandro s requirement.
Instead, the court required a higher standard, holding that each classroom should be staffed with a
competent, certified, well trained teacher, and requiring that every school be led by a well trained[,]
competent principal. This decision supplemented Leandro to provide a fuller contextual understanding
of what type of education the citizens of North Carolina had a right to receive. These two holdings
provide the standard by which education is judged today.

The Impact Of Bitcoin On The World Of Currency And Forex
Article 1 The History of Bitcoin In the world of currency and forex, the core credentials of what
makes up the market seldom changes. However, in 2008 a brand new currency arrived in the form of
bitcoin, with this cryptocurrency certainly working to upset the apple cart. Widely considered to be the
most volatile currency in the world, during 2015 over 100,000 bitcoin based transactions took place,
which shows that usage levels of the cryptocurrency is growing. Considering how the commodity is
maturing, many sectors (including retail and gambling) are now warming up to the idea of adopting
bitcoin. Looking back through time it is clear that this cryptocurrency has been on quite the journey,
with the following taking an in depth look at the rich history of bitcoin. The foundations of bitcoin
were created all the way back in 2008, when three men came together to create and eventually patent a
new form of digital encryption. Taking this base, Satoshi Nakamoto would go on to create the
cryptocurrency we know today as bitcoin. This vision was one of true digital innovation, something
that had the potential to create a currency that was strictly electronic in execution. Working off of a
mining system, the very first block of currency created was dubbed Genesis . Just a few weeks later
the first bitcoin transaction would take place between Nakamoto and Hal Finney, a noted
cryptographic activist and program developer. In 2009, bitcoin would become a more legitimate

Diabetes And Its Effects On Diabetes
Diabetes is caused when a person s blood sugar level becomes too high. This is often described as a
lifelong condition. There are two types of Diabetes within the UK; Type 1 Diabetes, where the body s
immune system attacks and destroys the cells that the body uses to produce insulin. This can develop
over weeks or even days. Type 2 Diabetes occurs when the body doesn t produce enough insulin or the
body s cells do not react to insulin. Type 2 diabetes is far more common than type 1. Many people can
suffer from type 2 Diabetes for many years without realising due to symptoms being so broad. Many
people have blood sugar levels above the normal rate. This suggests that there is a risk of developing
full diabetes in the future. However, sometimes it is not high enough to be diagnosed as having
diabetes. This is known as pre diabetes. It is extremely important to diagnosis diabetes as soon as
possible as it progressively gets worse over time if it s not treated (NHS.UK, 2016). There are many
risk factors that can have the likelihood impact on developing diabetes, such as in males or females,
food preferences, pregnancy, obesity, genetics, damaging effects and race and ethnicity. These risk
factors and their trends will be discussed in depth later in this essay.
It is very important to the detect diabetes from early stage as high glucose levels can damage the blood
vessels, nerves and organs within the body. Mildly raised glucose levels which don t cause any
symptoms can have

A Bright Eyed And Brand New shit Bag E 4
Introduction A bright eyed and brand new shit bag E 4 (as my First Sergeant would joke because of
my college) SPC Thompson, fresh out of basic training, arrived in Italy to start my career as an
Paratrooper. It wasn t long before our unit Able Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd

Iraq deployment and at the last minute we were slated to go to Afghanistan, in particular the Pech

Our squad consisted of 7 total Paratroopers, accompanied by a few of our 10th Mountain counterparts
we made our way to the OP to conduct the relief in place. After a seemingly day long journey, we
arrived to the OP, our home for the next 10 days. OP 2 was a small plot of land, approximately 75
meters in width by 50 meters long, surrounded by triple strand Constantina wire, three small structures
(one made of stone the other wood and sand bags) and 5 Claymore Mines positioned up the mountain
and covering areas of dead space. One of the structures served as a machine gun bunker and tactical
operations command post with an M240B machine gun facing up the mountain and an M2 .50 Caliber
machine gun facing across the valley. The other two served as sleeping areas for US forces, sleeping
about 5 comfortably, and a small Afghanistan National Army (ANA) contingent of 4 to 5 soldiers.
The 10th Mountain squad was haggard looking and wore cut off Army Combat Uniform shorts, t
shirts, sandals, ball caps and those who could grow them, had beards. Our initial reaction was that this
was a relaxed atmosphere and from what we gathered rarely made contact with the enemy. Our
mission was to simply provide a site where we could relay radio communications throughout the
valley should an element need help reaching our company command and provide an early warning and

The Development Of Restaurants Industries
Executive Summary
The development of restaurants industries has taken place in modern times of 1900 s. Customer
satisfaction includes things that is done for the comfort and improvement of customers and is provided
over the price paid for the food. Satisfying customers helps in maintaining the morale of restaurants
which would help to retain the customers for longer duration. The satisfaction need not be in
providing quality food but also in improving services given to customers. Customer satisfaction
includes providing quality foods at reasonable price.
The study of customer preferences towards restaurants is conducted in the regions of Manipal, and
Udupi region with an objective of understanding the customer s frame of mind with respect to the
restaurants and their opinion about services offered and also to measure their level of satisfaction. The
research was conducted with help of both primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected
with the help of a structured questionnaire and personal interview with the customers and secondary
data was collected through magazines and reliable sources of internet. The whole research focussed on
finding out whether the services provided by the restaurants owners could satisfy the customers.
The findings from the study are presented in the form of charts, graphs and tables. Suggestions are
given based on findings from the study of restaurants for further improvement in the service offered in
restaurants. However there is

Shocking Bodies Documentary
Bodies Online Video Essay The documentary, Shocking Bodies Exhibition, was published in 2014,
which mainly discusses a plasticized Body Worlds museum that the public can attend at any time and
then further discusses ethical concerns. This documentary was brought about because 20/20 wanted to
investigate more into the plasticized bodies origins. They were curious where the bodies were coming
from and if they were the bodies of executed prisoners. Throughout this paper, two ethical issues, a
theoretical view point, and why I support these exhibits will be further discussed
Two Ethical Issues Theoretical View Point One ethical issue that stands with the Body Worlds
museum is the fact that people are not one hundred percent sure who these bodies belong to or where
these bodies are exactly coming from, which also includes the manager who originally obtained these
bodies for the museum. One man from China that worked for this Chinese Dalian medical University,
that refused to reveal his identity, told 20/20 that he picked up bodies on the streets at night and then
sold them for two hundred dollars each to the United States. Despite ... Show more content on

Relationships In King Lear
William Shakespeare s King Lear is massive in scope and deals with many themes. I d like to focus on
King Lear s relationship with his daughters as it evolves throughout the play as well as the play King
Lear s themes regarding politics and politicking. The passage I think best represents the conclusion of
these themes is King Lear s conversation with Cordelia in Act 5, scene 3 where they have been taken
prisoner by the English. My conclusion from reading this passage closely is that in Shakespeare s
King Lear, King Lear s speech to Cordelia regarding their impending imprisonment builds
Shakespeare s idea of caged potential and judgement for those who politic. The first lines of this
speech, No, no, no, no! Come, let s away to prison: We two alone will sing like birds i the cage: (5.3.8
9) in response to Cordelia s question of whether they should see Goneril and Regan, give us an idea of
King Lear s mental state at this time in the play. King Lear appears to be lucid and to have largely
regained his sanity from the earlier scenes of the play once he has reunited with Cordelia. He insists
strongly, with four noes, that they should go immediately to prison. The metaphor of Lear and
Cordelia as birds in a cage implies that he and Cordelia will have lost their freedom, as a bird in a cage
loses its ability to fly. Yet, by saying that they shall sing in this cage, Lear says that they will be happy
while they have lost flight and freedom, they will have one another. King Lear

Rembrandt Self Portrait Analysis
1. Rembrandt Self Portrait with a Wide Brimmed Hat 1632
In the Baroque period, artists started to depict themselves as the main subject matter more often.
Rembrandt had painted a lot of self portraits in his entire life. In his self portrait did in 1632,
Rembrandt is the focus and he is dressed fashionably. Like most of the self portraits in Baroque, he
only painted his upper body so his face can be seen clearly. At the age of 26, Rembrandt showed a
sense of youth and pride in his gaze. The painting is done in a realistic way which the details of
clothing can be seen clearly. Back in the time when camera did not exist, painting is the only way to
capture the world in graphics. Self portrait is the record of a person s physical appearance. At that
period, self portrait was not only appreciated as art but also a record of the people and the society.

Environmental Issues Of Air Pollution
Environmental Issues
A. Introduction
Every day, the average person inhales about 20,000 liters of air. Every time we breathe, we risk
inhaling dangerous chemicals that have found their way into the air. We as humans depend on the air
around us to live, without it we would die. We rely on this as an essential source for living.
Air pollution includes all contaminants found in the atmosphere. It is another major problem that is yet
to be solved. These dangerous substances can be either in the form of gases or particles. The air is
99.9% nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor, and inert gases.
Air pollution is a common term meaning the dirtying and gradual destruction of our natural resources,
especially our air, water and land. This is referred to as environmental pollution. Once, years ago, the
air was fresh and clear and the rivers were clean with fish swimming in the crystal clear waters and
streams. This is no longer true today.
Air pollution is the dirtying of the air. Where once we had blue skies and fresh air to breathe in, this is
no longer the case. The air today is choked with toxic fumes from cars and factories. With more and
more cars on the road, the carbon monoxide emitted from the car exhausts has polluted the Earth s
atmosphere. The clearing of land to make way for housing or farms has also lead to forests being
destroyed and burnt.
But did you know that air pollution also found both outdoors and indoors? It can, Pollutants can be
trapped inside buildings,

Methicillin-Resistant S. Aureus (MRSA)
Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a major cause of hospital acquired infections
that are becoming increasingly difficult to treat because of emerging resistance to all current
antibiotics. Infections are created by pathogens, or microbes that create diseases. There are different
types of microbes including: bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Some microbes are beneficial to the
human body, however, there are pathogens that are deadly and require antibiotics. Antibiotics are
antimicrobials that were developed to destroy microbes. Penicillin, the first commercialized antibiotic,
was discovered in 1928 by Alexander Fleming.(Enright, Robinson, Randle, 2002) While it wasn t
distributed among the general public until 1945, it was widely used in World War II for surgical and
wound infections among the Allied Forces. Methicillin was introduced in 1959 to treat infections
caused by penicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. In 1961, there were reports from the United
Kingdom of S. aureus isolates that had acquired resistance to methicillin (methicillin resistant S.
aureus, MRSA).(Enright, Robinson, Randle, 2002)

And that s all I have to say about that because those words speak for them selves.
The Doctors and Healers that were around during that time were very well educated and trained but
compared to what we know today; they were quite primitive. But in their day, they were modern.
There were two types of healers; they were licensed and unlicensed. The Licensed healers were:
Physicians These were well trained doctors, they would study the works of Galen and Hippocrates and
train for 15years. They were first class doctors. Many rich and important people would have their own
physicians.
Surgeons These were known as second class doctors, this is because surgery was only necessary if you

performing the surgery and them taking notes.

Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale Hurson Analysis
In 1791 Thomas Paine wrote the book Rights of Man in which Paine illustrates his thoughts on the
unity of the American people. Walter Russell, however, says America has always been a division of
man. There has always been the conqueror and conquered the master and slave the ruler and the ruled
the oppressor and the oppressed. There has never been content nor unity. There has been only
discontent and disunity . While in the United States there are people similar to Thomas, who believe
and strive for freedom and diversity, there are also those who Walter Russell illustrates that promote
racism, violence, and disunity. I mostly disagree with Thomas Paine because, while there are times of
peace; justice; and concord, there are far greater instances of oppression, privilege, and riots. Two
examples of oppression in the America come from the book Their Eyes Were Watching God written
by Zora Neale Hurston. Janie, a black woman living in the post civil war South, is oppressed by her
husband, Logan Killicks, when he yells at her, Ah ll take holt uh dat ax and come in dere and kill yuh!
You better dry up in dere! Ah m too honest and hard workin for anybody in yo family, dat s de reason
you don t want me! (38). Logan disrespects his wife and puts her below him by saying he is more
honest and diligent than her and her family, showing oppression in the America on a personal level
with husband and wife. An example of oppression on a more communal level is with Jody, the mayor

The Lottery Offers A Wonderful Opportunity
The lottery offers a wonderful opportunity to possibly win millions of dollars. While this might seems
amazing, it might not be as wonderful as imagined. In fact, maybe even the opposite might true as
stated by numerous studies and research done since the 1970s. Lotteries have been reported to have
possibly started all the way back in the Han Dynasty early 200 B.C. The first official record of a
public lottery was in 1434 from the Dutch town of Sluis. The original idea of the lottery was to help
the lower class and fortify townships. It was not until the 1600s when the more modern form of the
lottery came about. Where one would buy a ticket for a small amount with the possibility to win a big
cash purse. Later, around 1890 much scrutiny and distrust surrounded the lottery which eventually led
to the United States stopping sales of tickets and made lotteries illegal. This was in effect until after
World War II and the iconic modern lotteries started to come back into everyday lives. At first it was
just separate state lotteries, but eventually in late 80s and early 90s interstate lotteries emerged which
include the famous Mega Million, originally named The Big Game, and Powerball. Some of the
success for the recent lotteries goes to the more credible system of checking and organizing tickets
called the Marksense system. The allure of the lottery is for a small charge, usually $1 or $2, there is
the possibility of winning millions. While the large majority of those who buy

Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder that is characterized by a variety of symptoms and the
disorganization of feeling and thought. It is an incurable disease whose causes are unknown, yet
whose effects are mind and body crippling. (Young, 1988, p.13 14) This topic was chosen because it is
interesting to study a disorder that worldwide, is viewed as a classic example of madness and insanity.
Another reason of interest is because unlike many illnesses, schizophrenia doesn t have a noticeable
pattern and its difficulty to be diagnosed as a disease makes the collection of statistics difficult. It is

(Szasz,1982, p.4, p.29) In 1900, the term schizophrenia, now used worldwide, was used to describe
the condition that one out of every hundred people had. This statistic remains the same today. Through
research and years of study, the world has a better understanding of schizophrenia, its forms,
characteristics, symptoms, types, possible causes, and treatments, if any. ( Pierce, 1990. p.263 )
Schizophrenia has no actual definition, but it describes a series of events and actions that a person
ususally experiences. Schizophrenia is a psychosis. ( Smith, 1992, p.23 25 ) Psychosis describes a
disorder where a group of mental disturbances happen. Schizophrenia is described to be a psychosis
because it causes the victim to lose the ability to be in touch with society and its functions. For
example, a person may begin to see animals that are not there, or may begin to characterize
themselves as a famous person from the past such as Queen Elizabeth or King Edward. ( Kvarnes,

usually behave in a strange or abnormal manner where the mind is separated from reality and the
difference between what is real and not is unknown. A schizophrenic therefore has distorted ideas
about who they are and about life. Feelings of withdrawal, worthlessness and emptiness also appear

The American Dream And The Mortgage Crisis Essay

The American Dream and the Mortgage Nightmare
Every country s economy is greatly impacted by the beliefs and the attitudes of its citizens;
conversely, the action of the people is affected by the country s economy. In other words, economy of
a nation and character of the citizens are correlated. For instance, in the United States, the American
Dream to own a home had a huge influence on the mortgage crisis in 2008. However, the economy at
that time period had been inducing people to buy new home. Likewise, in Greece, the growing trend
of corruption and bribery among the people played a major role in shattering its economy. As a
consequence of the dreadful economy, Greek people are revolting against their government. While
Greece is trying to recover from its devastated state, the overrated American Dream is still a cause of
multiple problems in the US. The tendency to use fulfillment of the dream as the measure of success
among American people is the one of many reason behind the overall health of people and community
and one of the main reason for crisis in 2008. The American Dream of owning a home killed the
mediocre reality of middle class people and led to a nightmare of foreclosure and its deadly
consequence instead.
On the other side of the globe, Greece, a country which used to be the foundation of intellectual and
philosophical discoveries, is now toppling over the fault

Effects Of Parent Child Dynamics On Emotional Development
Effects of Parent Child Dynamics on Emotional Development in Infants
Jovana Capric
Florida Atlantic University
Abstract
Misinformation and lack of education often lead parents into uncertainty about how to raise their child
to be the best person they can be. When raising children, the connection and relationship that is shared
between parents and child are significant. Multiple studies and research proves that different
engagements and experiences such as affection, discipline techniques and parenting styles all can have
positive or negative effects on a child and therefore, have critical consequences in development. Some
consequences include high or low acceptance ratings from the infants as well as impacts on social and
emotional development.
Effects of Parent Child Dynamics on Emotional Development in Infants
Parent child relations have been a topic of much review within psychology research due to the effects
on development and the implications it has on the child and family dynamics. Today, family and
parenting are in a great state of uncertainty and flux due to the constant re defining of what parenting
really is and how it is most effective (Lunkenheimer Leerkes, 2015). Often it becomes difficult to keep
up with the many forms of parenting and discipline styles while effectively maintaining a positive
parent child relationship. With the abundance of research and studies that have been conducted on this
topic we now have a better

Functional Model Of Rehabilitation
At the mention of rehabilitation, images of physical therapy, addiction withdrawal, and even prisons

the idea of renewal or resetting to what is deemed normal or natural to our society. Merriam Webster
describes rehabilitation as the process of restoring an individual to a useful and productive place in
society through some form of vocational, correctional, or therapeutic retraining. Perhaps it s a reaction
to the Functional Model, in which society would view criminals, addicts, and handicaps as irrelevant to

  • 8. First And Second Language Acquisition Essay Language acquisition is the process of receiving and producing the languages they should understand well the words and the sentences to communicate with each other. It is the process whereby children achieve a fluent control of their native language. The first language is defined as the primary language not necessary mother tongue which the speaker first acquires and use. There is a great difference between first and second language acquisition. First language acquisition refers to the way children learn their native language. Second language acquisition refers to the learning of another language or languages besides the native language The acquisition of language Is doubtless the greatest intellectual feat anyone of us is ever required to perform Leonard Bloomfield, Language (1933) People can live their life without learning reading or writing, but they can speak, understand and discuss their ideas and thoughts. All the children can understand some words and sentences which they never heard before. They have a great and perfect theory of language, which able them to make and understand the grammar of the language they hear. No one tells the children how to make a sentence by using verbs and nouns, no one tells them how to form plurals, and they can do that by themselves depending on what they hear from adults or others. They also get and acquire language through the interaction with others. Every human being is able to learn the language because it is a natural ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Compare And Contrast Versions Of Little Red Riding Hood Little Red Riding Hood is a European fairy tale about a young girl and the big bad wolf with origins that can be traced back to the 17th century. There have been many different interpretations written of the story. Little Red Riding Hood by Charles Perrault and Little Red Cap by Brothers Grimm are just two of the many contrasting renditions. The two tales are similar, but they are also different. The variations of the story translate the same lesson to be learned at the end. Amongst various versions of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale authored by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, the interaction that the little girl has with the wolf symbolizes the expressional meaning to not judge a book by its cover. The little girl is the main character in each of the stories. She is recognized as the prettiest, most lovable girl in the village. She is known as Little Red Riding Hood in Perrault s version. On the other hand, she is referred to as Little Red Cap in Grimm s version. She acquired her name because of always wearing her little red hood/cap all the time. The person who loved and adored her most of all was her grandmother. Grandmother lived deep in the woods in another village in both stories. • 10. Television s Impact On Television One part of television that has always been a constant in a lot of programs is family. More particular, the family sitcom and family dramas have been around for years and are still around today. Family television shows are great programs for everyone due to the fact of being very family oriented. However, the way families were portrayed when television first started out has changed drastically with how some families are portrayed now. The evolution of the way families are viewed on screen and off screen can be portrayed throughout the years on television. One television show that aired from 1951 1957 was the series I Love Luc. This series was about a husband and a wife and their lives together. They were a typical family in the 50s. Lucy stayed at home being a housewife at first while Ricky would go out to work (Smith). The series even showed them sleeping in separate beds at that time because we as the audience weren t allowed to see a couple sleep in the same bed. Later in the series, Lucy became pregnant which wasn t a very common thing to show on television, especially at that time (Garrison). Typical families shown on television in the 1950s were a mother, father, and their children. One show that started to break the mold was My Three Sons which premiered in 1960 and aired until 1972. My Three Sons was about a widowed father raising his three sons on his own with the help of the kids grandfather (Taflinger). In a matter of only ten years the family sitcom had ... Throughout the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s public education across the United States continued to include considerable religious context. In colonial New England the earliest standard text was the New England Primer, which taught younger children to read and count using biblical references: The letter A was taught with the phrase In Adam s Fall we sinned all, and P was illustrated with Peter denies His Lord and cries (Andryszewski 13 14). Beginning around 1913 and continuing through the first half of the twentieth century, state governments across the country decided to standardize and write into law the practice of Bible reading and prayer in their states public schools. • 13. Diffusion Of Altruism Essay This paper looks at the theories relevant to the diffusion of prosocial behavior as it spreads through social media. Altruism is delineated from other types of prosocial behavior because it is directly related to empathy. The two theories of motivation for prosocial behavior are the Empathy Altruism Hypothesis and Social Exchange Theory. These two motivational states outline the paradox of altruism, which infers that selfless behavior can provide benefits to those engaging in it. When looking at the chasm in the Diffusion of Innovation, presented by Everett Rogers, these theories can be applied in order to accelerate the diffusion across the chasm. Messages that elicit empathic responses should target the innovators and early adopters. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first opinion lies in the Empathy Altruism Hypothesis. This hypothesis, created by Daniel Batson, studies altruistic behaviors and links their production to empathic concern for others (Batson, 2011). Batson (2011) would argue that prosocial behavior can be elicited from empathic concern, whereas others have argued there are only self serving processes at work. The alternate opinion comes from Social Exchange Theory, which applies economic principles to social relationships (Miller, 2013). As Shari Miller describes in her article from the Salem Press Encyclopedia, social exchanges happen because people make choices that create maximum benefits and minimize personal disadvantages (Miller, 2013). When this theory is applied to prosocial behavior as its primary motivation, the actions can quickly be reduced to social behavior instead. The reductionist approach of Social Exchange spins the motivations for any social behavior as purely self serving. While this may be true of some surface level prosocial behavior, there is still the observation that it can be selflessly motivated. Empathy generated altruism falls directly opposite of reward seeking prosocial behaviors. These two concepts create a polarization in motivational states. The altruism paradox, is defined in the Salem Press Encyclopedia of Health as the difference between prosocial behavior that is self serving and prosocial behavior that is ... It s not often that you find a young, teenage girl unashamed in her choice to remain pure. I ve accepted that if I m going to live a pure lifestyle, I can t expect the world to understand my decision. And I blame it all on the sexual revolution. Up to that point in the twentieth century, people were living in a prudish, unhealthy culture that twisted our human sexuality into something that was looked down upon, as something to be ashamed of. Being limited by the Roman Catholic Church and government was no longer ideal, resulting in many new proposals. Of these proposals was the notion of wanting to change the Gregorian calendar to a new and non religious calendar, the Revolutionary calendar. This calendar was made strictly on reasons aimed to improve France and change previous rituals. With the new system of different months and days, the adoption of the calendar stimulated controversy between supporters of it and the opposition. Those in favor of the calendar argued that in order to fully break away from the old customs of France and the church, there must be a reform in all former things. This includes ... Adding onto this, the people of the lower class will have a harder time with the new ten days in a week. Working nine out of ten of those days doing hard labor is vigorous work that required all of their time. A peasant at this time would hate the Revolutionary calendar because having only one day to take a break is not enough for one to fully regenerate themselves after constant weeks of labor (Document 4). Further clarifying the first prong of the Madison Cablevision standard, the court in Maready held that whether an activity is within the appropriate scope of governmental involvement and is reasonably related to communal needs may be evaluated by determining how similar the activity is to others which this court has held to be within the permissible realm of governmental action. However, the court disagreed, holding that the existence of these inputs was not sufficient to meet Leandro s requirement. Instead, the court required a higher standard, holding that each classroom should be staffed with a competent, certified, well trained teacher, and requiring that every school be led by a well trained[,] competent principal. This decision supplemented Leandro to provide a fuller contextual understanding of what type of education the citizens of North Carolina had a right to receive. • 19. Diabetes And Its Effects On Diabetes Diabetes is caused when a person s blood sugar level becomes too high. This is often described as a lifelong condition. There are two types of Diabetes within the UK; Type 1 Diabetes, where the body s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that the body uses to produce insulin. This can develop over weeks or even days. Type 2 Diabetes occurs when the body doesn t produce enough insulin or the body s cells do not react to insulin. Type 2 diabetes is far more common than type 1. Many people can suffer from type 2 Diabetes for many years without realising due to symptoms being so broad. Many people have blood sugar levels above the normal rate. This suggests that there is a risk of developing full diabetes in the future. However, sometimes it is not high enough to be diagnosed as having diabetes. This is known as pre diabetes. It is extremely important to diagnosis diabetes as soon as possible as it progressively gets worse over time if it s not treated (NHS.UK, 2016). There are many risk factors that can have the likelihood impact on developing diabetes, such as in males or females, food preferences, pregnancy, obesity, genetics, damaging effects and race and ethnicity. I d like to focus on King Lear s relationship with his daughters as it evolves throughout the play as well as the play King Lear s themes regarding politics and politicking. The passage I think best represents the conclusion of these themes is King Lear s conversation with Cordelia in Act 5, scene 3 where they have been taken prisoner by the English. My conclusion from reading this passage closely is that in Shakespeare s King Lear, King Lear s speech to Cordelia regarding their impending imprisonment builds Shakespeare s idea of caged potential and judgement for those who politic. The first lines of this speech, No, no, no, no! Come, let s away to prison: We two alone will sing like birds i the cage: (5.3.8 9) in response to Cordelia s question of whether they should see Goneril and Regan, give us an idea of King Lear s mental state at this time in the play. King Lear appears to be lucid and to have largely regained his sanity from the earlier scenes of the play once he has reunited with Cordelia. He insists strongly, with four noes, that they should go immediately to prison. The metaphor of Lear and Cordelia as birds in a cage implies that he and Cordelia will have lost their freedom, as a bird in a cage loses its ability to fly. Yet, by saying that they shall sing in this cage, Lear says that they will be happy while they have lost flight and freedom, they will have one another. King Lear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Like most of the self portraits in Baroque, he only painted his upper body so his face can be seen clearly. At the age of 26, Rembrandt showed a sense of youth and pride in his gaze. • 27. Environmental Issues Of Air Pollution Environmental Issues A. Introduction Every day, the average person inhales about 20,000 liters of air. Every time we breathe, we risk inhaling dangerous chemicals that have found their way into the air. We as humans depend on the air around us to live, without it we would die. We rely on this as an essential source for living. Air pollution includes all contaminants found in the atmosphere. It is another major problem that is yet to be solved. These dangerous substances can be either in the form of gases or particles. The air is 99.9% nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor, and inert gases. Air pollution is a common term meaning the dirtying and gradual destruction of our natural resources, especially our air, water and land. This is referred to as environmental pollution. Once, years ago, the air was fresh and clear and the rivers were clean with fish swimming in the crystal clear waters and streams. This is no longer true today. Air pollution is the dirtying of the air. Where once we had blue skies and fresh air to breathe in, this is no longer the case. The air today is choked with toxic fumes from cars and factories. With more and more cars on the road, the carbon monoxide emitted from the car exhausts has polluted the Earth s atmosphere. The clearing of land to make way for housing or farms has also lead to forests being destroyed and burnt. But did you know that air pollution also found both outdoors and indoors? It can, Pollutants can be trapped inside buildings, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aureus (MRSA) Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a major cause of hospital acquired infections that are becoming increasingly difficult to treat because of emerging resistance to all current antibiotics. Infections are created by pathogens, or microbes that create diseases. There are different types of microbes including: bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Some microbes are beneficial to the human body, however, there are pathogens that are deadly and require antibiotics. Antibiotics are antimicrobials that were developed to destroy microbes. Penicillin, the first commercialized antibiotic, was discovered in 1928 by Alexander Fleming.(Enright, Robinson, Randle, 2002) While it wasn t distributed among the general public until 1945, it was widely used in World War II for surgical and wound infections among the Allied Forces. Methicillin was introduced in 1959 to treat infections caused by penicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. In 1961, there were reports from the United Kingdom of S. aureus isolates that had acquired resistance to methicillin (methicillin resistant S. aureus, MRSA).(Enright, Robinson, Randle, 2002) Most often, MRSA lives and infects the skin. • 30. Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale Hurson Analysis In 1791 Thomas Paine wrote the book Rights of Man in which Paine illustrates his thoughts on the unity of the American people. Walter Russell, however, says America has always been a division of man. There has always been the conqueror and conquered the master and slave the ruler and the ruled the oppressor and the oppressed. There has never been content nor unity. There has been only discontent and disunity . While in the United States there are people similar to Thomas, who believe and strive for freedom and diversity, there are also those who Walter Russell illustrates that promote racism, violence, and disunity. I mostly disagree with Thomas Paine because, while there are times of peace; justice; and concord, there are far greater instances of oppression, privilege, and riots. Two examples of oppression in the America come from the book Their Eyes Were Watching God written by Zora Neale Hurston. Janie, a black woman living in the post civil war South, is oppressed by her husband, Logan Killicks, when he yells at her, Ah ll take holt uh dat ax and come in dere and kill yuh! You better dry up in dere! Ah m too honest and hard workin for anybody in yo family, dat s de reason you don t want me! (38). While this might seems amazing, it might not be as wonderful as imagined. In fact, maybe even the opposite might true as stated by numerous studies and research done since the 1970s. Lotteries have been reported to have possibly started all the way back in the Han Dynasty early 200 B.C. The first official record of a public lottery was in 1434 from the Dutch town of Sluis. The original idea of the lottery was to help the lower class and fortify townships. It was not until the 1600s when the more modern form of the lottery came about. Where one would buy a ticket for a small amount with the possibility to win a big cash purse. Later, around 1890 much scrutiny and distrust surrounded the lottery which eventually led to the United States stopping sales of tickets and made lotteries illegal. This was in effect until after World War II and the iconic modern lotteries started to come back into everyday lives. At first it was just separate state lotteries, but eventually in late 80s and early 90s interstate lotteries emerged which include the famous Mega Million, originally named The Big Game, and Powerball. Some of the success for the recent lotteries goes to the more credible system of checking and organizing tickets called the Marksense system. The allure of the lottery is for a small charge, usually $1 or $2, there is the possibility of winning millions. While the large majority of those who buy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

( Smith, 1992, p.23 25 ) Psychosis describes a disorder where a group of mental disturbances happen. Schizophrenia is described to be a psychosis because it causes the victim to lose the ability to be in touch with society and its functions. For example, a person may begin to see animals that are not there, or may begin to characterize themselves as a famous person from the past such as Queen Elizabeth or King Edward. • 37. The American Dream And The Mortgage Crisis Essay Rojina Shrestha Professor Patricia Ard Critical Reading and Writing 102 9 November 2016 The American Dream and the Mortgage Nightmare Every country s economy is greatly impacted by the beliefs and the attitudes of its citizens; conversely, the action of the people is affected by the country s economy. In other words, economy of a nation and character of the citizens are correlated. For instance, in the United States, the American Dream to own a home had a huge influence on the mortgage crisis in 2008. However, the economy at that time period had been inducing people to buy new home. Likewise, in Greece, the growing trend of corruption and bribery among the people played a major role in shattering its economy. As a consequence of the dreadful economy, Greek people are revolting against their government. While Greece is trying to recover from its devastated state, the overrated American Dream is still a cause of multiple problems in the US. The tendency to use fulfillment of the dream as the measure of success among American people is the one of many reason behind the overall health of people and community and one of the main reason for crisis in 2008. The American Dream of owning a home killed the mediocre reality of middle class people and led to a nightmare of foreclosure and its deadly consequence instead. On the other side of the globe, Greece, a country which used to be the foundation of intellectual and philosophical discoveries, is now toppling over the fault ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
