Panda Research Papers
Pandas
Did you know that Giant Pandas can die from being overweight? There are endangered species all
over the world, one of them is the Giant Panda. Pandas are a fascinating creature and an interesting
animal to learn about. Pandas are mostly vegetarians but they do eat some meat. They mostly eat
bamboo and leaves. On (wwf.panda.org) it says that pandas mainly eat bamboo their second
chose are leaves and some meat. A panda s main diet is bamboo, but they eat one percent of meat
which is smaller prey like, mice, rats, pikas, and other small rodents. Meat is not their main food
they eat meat so they get protean. Giant pandas also like to eat stems and shoots of various bamboo
species. They eat plants because that is how they get their energy. ... Show more content on

They live in the mountains because of the farming, forest clearing and other developments. They
also live in the mountains because they feel safe and there is nothing to hurt them. According to the
same source they are cooler and they have wet bamboo forests that makes them feel comfortable.
Pandas have different lifespans when they live in the wild.
The difference between pandas in the wild and in captivity. The captive ones can live up to 30
years. According to (www.livescience.com) they live longer in captivity than they do in the wild.
When they live in the wild they often die from being overweight. However they don t always live
the same length as they do in the wild. The ones out in the wild live between 15 20. According to
Christina Stevens on Pet.On.Me, Pandas live longer in captivity because they are provided with the
right amount of food they need a day, in the wild they are not (http://animals.mom.me).
The pandas that live in captivity survive longer because they are provided with the food they need,
not to much, not to less.( I think they did a lot of research on how much the eat and instead of
letting them eat almost all the time they only let them eat: Breakfast, Lunch, and

3. Explain the basic logic of probability theory
Probability can be a complex field of mathematics, but in its simplest definition it is the likelhood
of an event being true divided by the total number of possibilities. For example, flipping a coin has
two possibilities: heads or tails. There is only one way for a coin to land on heads, so the answer to
this probability question is 1:2.
1. In a poll, respondents were asked whether they had ever been in a car accident. 177
respondents indicated that they had been in a car accident and 107 respondents said that they
had not been in a car accident. If one of these respondents is randomly selected, what is the
probability of getting someone who has been in a car accident? 177 = Probability of choosing
someone who was in a car accident because fraction cannot be reduced any more 107 than it is. So
the odds are 177 out of 284 total choices.
2. The data set represents the income levels of the members of a country club. Find the probability

Participation In Democratic Political Participation
The question why nonprofit organizations exist can be answered in various forms, depending on
which disciplines and orientations one has adopted. In political theory, for instance, nonprofit
exists because of its partnership with the government sector in financing a variety of public
services. The political scientists view both existences in relations to providing opportunities for
civic participation in the pluralistic and political system of a heterogeneous society (Wikipedia,
2017). In order to respond to the above question, we first and foremost defined democratic political
participation. The democratic political participation is a means by which a person contributes to a
political process by making his or her opinion and beliefs known (Wikipedia, 2017). In addition, it
originates from the freedom to speak out, to assemble, and to associate (Boris, 2017). In assessing
the role of nonprofit in democratic political participation, Elizabeth Clemens considers nonprofit
organizations as an entity for building relationships that holds communities together and provides
opportunities for civic participation (Otto Dicke, 2015). Obviously, nonprofit organizations are
renowned for thriving and successful democracies. Essentially, they assist to build the networks of
trust and reciprocity, the social capital that allows democratic societies to function effectively
(Putnam 1993; Walzer 1991). Citizens, on the other hand, participate in democratic governance by
joining together to

Fate In Romeo And Juliet And The Alchemist
fate could be represented in many different ways, whether that be good or bad, omens and love,
or generally calling it destiny fate is not something a person can hear, see, smell, feel or taste. fate
is not a physical object. it is more like destiny, but not exactly. destiny is when you are meant to do
something but can still decide against it, while whatever is written in fate is what must happen,
making fate an omnipotent and omniscient force. fate is a path that has been made specifically for
you and though there might sometimes be interruptions with how things go, fate ultimately gets its
way, which is how fate is portrayed in both books of Romeo and Juliet and the alchemist. in the

7. A firm would consider the following factors in their choice of amortization methods: nature and
use of asset, corporate reporting objectives, industry norms, parent company preferences, the desire
to minimize future (deferred) taxes, and the accounting system costs associated with a given
method.
8. An asset with a thirty year life will be amortized over a shorter period when it is expected to be
used (will generate revenue) for the shorter period.
9. The straight line method reports depreciation as a variable amount per unit of output and a fixed
amount per period, whereas the productive output method reports depreciation as a fixed amount
per unit of output and a variable amount per period.
10. Straight line amortization is likely popular because it is simple to calculate, logically appealing,
rational and systematic, often portrays the pattern of benefits received (equal each period), and
because it provides a stable expense pattern.
11. Accelerated methods of amortization result in a periodic amortization charge that is less in each
succeeding period than the prior period. There are a number of variations of the accelerated
methods, such as the declining balance method and the sum of the years digits method. These
methods are appropriate when an asset contributes to revenue

Grecian Myth Of Orpheus
The Grecian myth of Orpheus is a well known tragic tale about love and loss. It is the subject of
many operas and movies, each one s focus on the musicians struggle to rescue his wife from the
Underworld and the heartbreak that follows soon after. In Sarah Ruhl s retelling of the story we
have our focus shifted to Orpheuswife; Eurydice. In this production we given the details of what
she had been through before Orpheus descent, filling in her own story of life and death. After she
dies on her wedding night she is reunited with her father who greets her warmly, though she has
forgotten him during her dip in the unnamed river Lethe. Her father patiently guides her through
her new life in the Underworld, teaching her about her forgotten past and what it means to be
alive again. Orpheus, heartbroken, begins sending letters out into the oblivion hoping that they
may reach his wife. When Eurydice discovers the letters, her father kindly reads them to her in
which Orpheus claims that he will burst through the gates of hell to save his beloved. When he
does however, he is greeted by the Lord of the Underworld who allows him to take Eurydice on
one condition; walk home and do not look back. Eurydice then finds herself in turmoil as she must
decide on whether to stay with her father or return with her husband. After some coaxing from her
father she follows Orpheus but just as they reach the end she calls out causing Orpheus to turn
around and consequently killing her a

Lord Of The Flies Beast Analysis
Lord of the Flies: What is a beast? Every human being has something that they are deeply afraid
of. This fear can be referred to as one s beast. This beast cannot be hunted or killed, but thrives in
the evil that lives inside all humans. Unfortunately, Sir William Golding wanted the characters
in The Lord of the Flies, to find this out the hard way. The characters believe, but some deny the
fact that there is a beast on the island on which they are stranded. They try to hunt for the beast
on the island until one day, one child, Simon, discovers the horrible truth about what the beast
really is, the boys themselves. Lord of the Flies wants readers to believe that humans are truly
malevolent, and with no laws in place to prevent humans from reverting to these evil ways, evil
rises and takes over. Lord of the Flies is written to depict how humans are truly evil when no
societal norms are present, chaos breaks loose over time. For example, the boys are stuck on an
island after a plane crash killed all their parents, so the boys have no adult supervision. To start,
the boys act as if they were still in England, when Ralph calls a meeting using an important
symbol, a conch shell himself and Piggy had found in the sand. The conch at first represents
authority, Ralph, elected chief, uses it to call meetings, and whoever hold the conch has the right to
speak. The effectiveness of the conch is very successful at first, but as the boys become more
vicious, the value of the conch

Black Communities During The 1960 s
During the 1960 s, there were important events, actions, and organizations that changed the black
communities lives. The 1960 s are an important time period because of the Civil Rights
Movement. During that time period, the black community s were able to vote (Voting Rights of
1965) and the Civil Rights Act of 1968. Between 1965 and 1968, the Black Panthers Party was
created. Huey Newton and Bobby Sealecreated the Black Panther Partyin Oakland, California in
1966. The Black Panther Party was original called, The Black Panther Party for Self Defense ;
they implemented Malcolm X philosophy of self defense because during the time The Black
Panthers were created there were high rates of police brutality towards the black community,
which meant that Black people were being killed at random with no reason. Before The Black
Panther Party had a name, Newton and Seale created the Ten Point Program, which explained what
they wanted, and what they believed in. Newton and Seale both knew that they could not present
their Ten Point Program without a name and they came up with the Black Panther Party (B.P.P).
The Ten Point Program consists of ten points which are Freedom, Full employment, an end of
robbery by the white man of the black community, decent housing, Education which teaches black
history, black men to be excepted from military service, stop the murder of black people, wanting

What Does The Scaffold Symbolize In The Scarlet Letter
Symbol of Sin In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, the use of a torturous scaffold
symbolizes sin and redemption. In Hawthorne s novel, the afflicting scaffold is present in three
scenes throughout the story. The first scene occurs during the introduction of the novel, where
Hester Prynne is given time on the structure in return for her sinful crime of adultery. The second
scene occurs in the middle of the novel, where Arthur Dimmesdale stands on the scaffold, feeling
remorse and guilt for his crime which he commits with Prynne. The final scene takes place in the
resolution of the story, where Dimmesdale is dying and confesses his sin in front of the whole
town. Throughout The Scarlet Letter, the scaffold is a penalty described as ridicule, is used to

New City Construction Museum History
I recently took a trip to the New York Transit Museum (NYTM) where I discovered many things.
First, the museum itself is the Court Street station whose line ceased in June 1946. The station had
been abandoned due to slow traffic and remained deserted until the museum opened in 1976. It
was fascinating to see the evolution of train cars and turnstiles from its conception in the early
1900s compared to what they are like today. Interestingly, in spite of the progression of train cars,
the concept of how the system operated is not much different from how it is done today. The
station remained intact since it was abandoned all those years ago. Various effects such as the signs
and the tower remained unchanged since its commencement in 1936. Additionally, prior to its use
for exhibition, Hollywood took advantage of its desolateness and used it for film production. The
taking of Pelham One Two Three was shot at the station. In addition to learning the museum s
history, I also learned the subway system was built in 1913. The remaining dynamites used for
excavation were on display to demonstrate how tunneling began. The New York transportation
system existed much longer than the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA); it can be traced back
to the 1800 when horses heaved oversize stagecoaches designed to transport... Show more content

Difference Between Art And Contemporary Art
Christian Casas
Rafael Hernandez
LIT3400
The Everyday
A typical way of relating social/political issues to art assumes that art represents the thing one
way or another. But there can be a more interesting perspective, which is looking at the field of
art as a place of work. Basically look at what it does not what it shows. Amid all other forms of art,
fine art has been associated with post Fordist ideology. Post Fordism is a popular system of
economically based on production, consumption and has been in most industrialized countries since
the late 20th century. Contemporary art is not an out of this world discipline hidden away in some
remote building. In fact, it s the opposite because it positions itself in the thick of things. It can
function as a brand name without a brand feeding off the bits and pieces of social and political
issues. Presently, contemporary art has grown apart from important hubs, which gives the artist a
wider range of production and provides various opportunities for showcasing the work. In contrast,
this has not always been the case. Artist in novels about portraitures are depicted as servants due to
the flow of cash. Art should be functioning on its own without the need of an institutional backing
in order to create separation between the artist and their work as well as what the work can do .
Portraits appear as an object already existing in the world and about whose producer and the process
of production not much (most often nothing) needs

Sa s The Organisation Contexts Of Projects Essay
SA 2 THE ORGANISATION CONTEXTS OF PROJECTS:
INTRODUCTION:
The success of any organisation or project depends on proper synchronization of different
supportive factors ranging from full understanding and application of general organizational
philosophy, proper use of resources, prudent leadership and dependable systems of a particular
business set up. Organizational systems or structures are not static as they are directly linked to the
strategies in place at a particular time Media: (50 Lessons, (2004) ). All these factors are important
for effective project execution and realization of organisation goals. With the foregoing
dependencies, it is imperative therefore, that project managers study the mission and vision
statements of the organisations that they work in or work for so that they work well while knowing
the kind of organisation culture that surround them and the general expectations thereof. As
organization cultures and labour force in place differ from industry to industry, project managers
decisions on team role composition are therefore influenced by varying contextual situations in
which projects that they lead exist.

ROLE APPLICATION:

Autonomous Vehicles Essay
One of the touted benefits of autonomous vehicles is that it will reduce the need for parking in
urban areas, where parking is often a premium. By 2035, it is estimated that the need for parking
space should decline more than 5.7 billion square meters as a result of driverless cars. Experts
speculate that individual car ownership will become a thing of the past, and that individuals will
purchase a subscription service or buy into a cardominium where an autonomous vehicle, that no
longer needs to be parked on site, will arrive and take an individual to their desired destination.
For condominiums that are located in densely populated urban areas, parking spaces are often sold
between co owners at a premium. In most cases, onsite parking spaces are limited common
elements that are associated with an individual unit. The Michigan Condominium Act, specifically
MCL 559.139, allows for limited common element parking spaces to be transferred as follows:

An Essay On Landscape Photography
Landscape Photography
You can follow some rules for getting beautiful image. For Landscape Photography following the
techniques, you will hold the perfect moment and get vivid pictures. Thus, you will be able to
capture some amazing beauty that you see.
Learn More About Landscape Photography
Reading the article, you will learn more about Landscape Photography. Here are given some
techniques to follow.
1. Depth of field
Many landscape photographers desire an image which appears sharp throughout the scene, so that
elements of foreground interest, such as a rock in a lake, look just as sharp as the distant horizon.
This can be achieved relatively easily using the principles of depth of field whereby the smaller an
aperture you use, such as f/22, the greater the area both before and beyond the point of focus also ...

Capture Movement
Most people think about landscapes they think of calm, serene and passive environments
however landscapes are rarely completely still and to convey this movement in an image will add
drama, mood and create a point of interest. Wind in trees, waves on a beach, water flowing over a
waterfall, birds flying over head, moving clouds make image nice.
Capturing this movement generally means you need to look at a longer shutter speed. This means
more light hitting your sensor which will mean you need to either go for a small Aperture, use
some sort of a filter or even shoot at the start or end of the day when there is less light.
8. Work with the Weather
A scene can change dramatically depending upon the weather at any given moment. So, choosing
the right time to shoot is of real importance. An overcast day threatening to rain might provide you
with a much better opportunity to create an image with real mood and ominous overtones. Look for
storms, wind, mist, dramatic clouds, sun shining through dark skies, rainbows, sunsets and sunrises
etc and work with these variations in the weather rather than just waiting for the next sunny blue sky

Jews today serve as a metaphor for assimilation into American culture. According to Liu, this is due
to the ease with which Jews have been able to assimilate. However, the progress that Jews have
made in embracing and affecting America has been gradual rather than instantaneous, as evidenced
by the character Sara Smolensky in Anzia Yezierska s novel Bread Givers. Sara is not the symbol
of an assimilated Jew, but instead represents a period of transition between complete assimilation
into American identity and complete dissimilation from her Jewish and Polish heritage, ... Show

Sara s willing dedication to her American identity, as represented by her clothing, is contrasted with
the blood relationship she has with her mother, and by extension her actions separate her from her
entire ancestry and ethnicity. Denounced for her refusal to comply with the traditions of her
culture, and disdainfully called an Americanerin, Sara experiences the social death that Sollors
describes, a result of her cultural relationships having become mutually antagonistic (xx). In this
scene she temporarily ceases to be Jewish and becomes to her people and to her family merely a
female American. This schism is paralleled by a more subtle contrast at the conclusion of the same
chapter that should be noted, when Sara hears the poverty stricken cries that Charity saves you
from death (256)! This statement of course cannot be literally true, but displays a further contrast
between the voluntary and the natural on a more literal level: voluntary generosity versus natural
inevitable death.
Sara is further distanced from her ethnicity through her resistance to the patriarchal doctrines of
Judaism that are followed by her family. Sexually biased Judaism is represented by her father and
his frequent citations of the Torah to justify such a position. When Sara refuses to marry the
wealthy Max Goldstein, her father tells her that the Torah says What s a woman without a man?

Taking a Look at Hinduism
Many religions offer an exact path to the afterlife; illuminated by various rules and regulations that
one must follow to reach enlightenment. Hinduism, on the other hand, is much more complex,
offering multiple ways to achieve moksha and providing many answers to the ancient question of
what happens after we die? Many people think that Hindus believe in many deities, but the Hindu
concept of Godis much broader than that. In fact, Hinduismitself encompasses much more than just
one specific set of religious beliefs. While some Hindus believe that God is a divine being with
certain identifiable attributes, others believe that God cannot be defined and is an all pervading
being that extends beyond everything. Although some beliefs differ, the majority of Hindus see
the concept of God in multiple ways. Among these are the concepts of God as one and many,
God and the soul, God as sound, God as image, God in nature, cows, and avatara. One of
Hinduism s most distinguishing features is the concept of multiple gods. These multiple gods are
manifestations of the various powers of the divine. Hindus believe that the all pervasive God is
both one and many. Because this concept carries the idea of God as an omnipresent being,
everything can be seen as being God s form. Hindus worship many Gods, but they also believe that
the divine is singular or one. These Gods are representations of different aspects of the overall God.
Although their worship of multiple

Math Autobiography
As far back as I can remember, I have always been a history buff. I have memories of going on
trips and sitting in the plane playing fast facts about US Presidents. I would beg the other
passengers to quiz me. I would drive my Mother to the point of insanity asking questions
regarding these topics. If you were to ask me who was President during the Spanish American
War I had you covered. I could answer, William Mckinley, with ease. All of this brings me to my
main point: While I excelled and surpassed others my age in history, I struggled to contend in math.
I worked diligently to understand the lessons I was learningbut no amount of studying assisted in
meeting the benchmarks that were required. I was behind in math and I struggled to get through it
each day. I would stress about the concepts to the point of tears. This anxiety and lack of
knowledge carried over into the beginning of middle school. I was hopeless at that point. With the
help of my parents, I had attempted nearly everything just to keep up. Online studying, tutoring,
extra homework, but it all seemed useless.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Response Paper On Sexual Offenders
Chapter 6: Response Paper
Sexual offenders refer to sexual acts against a victim s will and includes a wide range of behaviors
ranging from exposing oneself in a public place to rape. Probation and parole officers have the
difficult task of working with sexual offenders and trying to help them during their rehabilitation
process. From researching different sources, I have concluded that risk assessment, treatment,
supervision, and restrictions/registration have effectively helped by working with sexual offenders
in the community.
Risk assessment is useful as a validated tool that provides a gauge of the offender s tendency to
commit additional criminal activity and indicates the level of intervention necessary. According to
the NGA (1), Most of the currently used sex offender risk instruments are designed solely to
gather information on static factors, or those features of an individual s experience that are
unchangeable. These factors can be used to assess long term recidivism potential, but not to
identify treatment needs or to predict the timing of a re offense. The risk assessment is a
preventative strategy that helps probation officers assess the offender so they can determine
whether the offender is a risk to the community or what type of treatment they will need. A main
example of a risk assessment would be Static 99. According to Static99 (2), Static 99 is a ten item
actuarial assessment instrument created by R. Karl Hanson, PH.D. and David Thornton , Ph. D.

Shale Gas to Ammonium and Ethylene
Nikita Cardenas, Lucas Freiberg, James Watkins, Heitor Almeida Rogerio
RA2
Main Goals:
We are interested in using our shale gas stream, which we currently sell as heating fuel, to create
another product of value. We are considering taking the shale gas and producing anhydrous
ammonia, urea, ammonia sulfate, and ethylene. The main goal is to make a greater profit from our
shale gas by selling it as more valuable products rather than solely heating fuel.
Specific objectives and requirements: This project aims to create valuable products from natural gas
extracted from shale formations. The shale gas feed entering the process contains mostly
hydrocarbons that can be transformed into a variety of value added chemicals, but it also contains
impurities that must be removed. Carbon dioxide is useful in the chemical reactions utilized to
convert hydrocarbons into hydrogen gas (in order to create ammonia), but at 8 mole percent, the
concentration of CO2 in our feed will dilute the shale gas and may cause corrosion. Hydrogen
sulfide is not only hazardous to health and corrosive to pipelines, but also destroys metal catalysts
used in the processes downstream. These impurities can be removed using a variety of separations
techniques. Once removed, however, sulfur should not be considered a waste product. It can be
collected and used in ammonium sulfate fertilizer. Depending of the desired quality of gas,

California Milestones Essay
California Missions Monuments or Tombstones?
Most Californians are introduced to the California Mission system in one of two ways: in their
early education, or when they first visit a mission. Unfortunately, both methods are prone to
simplification or bias in conveying the history of the missions. What this has led to is Californians
who are ignorant of the history of the land they walk on. Consequently, visitors to the missions treat
them as mere tourist attractions, instead of trying to embrace and understand the complex issues
the missions represent.
The issue was brought sharply into focus for me recently, when I was in the cemetery of Mission
Santa Barbara. It was a sunny afternoon and the tiny graveyard was crowded with ... Show more

Then you construct a model of a mission out of sugar cubes. For most people, this is all they will
learn about the missions unless they visit one.
While each mission is unique, most of what you learn in one is the same. My first visit to a
mission was as a child with my grandmother. We visited San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo and
San Juan Bautista. Both were presented as old churches that the Indians and Mexicans came to
practice at and lived in. I looked through the glass cases and saw the tools and pictures and
copies of the Bible. The placards described what the tools were used for and where the Bibles
came from. The drawings showed Father Serra or the lands as they looked then.
The recent tour I did of the missions showed that things had not changed much. In fact, by the 8th
mission, I was bored by seeing the same tools in the same glass cases, bored and frustrated,
because that was the knowledge most people were content to leave with.
Now I will tell you why we shouldn t settle for artifacts with explanations of their use as the
whole story. California had a population of at least 300,000 Native Americans who spoke at
least 100 languages. These people lived on this land for centuries before the Spaniards showed
up. Of course, you would never know that if you only learn from a mission or an elementary
school. We are only told about the California Indians use of tools or baking of adobe

Dbq Who Killed Reconstruction Essay
Do you ever wonder who really killed Reconstruction? Reconstruction was the period between 1865
1877 where the North was trying to help African Americans gain political equality. Reconstruction
gave freedmen their freedom through the 13th amendment, citizenship and civil rights through the
14th amendment, and the right to vote for the 15th amendment. People such as carpetbaggers,
Northerners who went south to help with Reconstruction and scalawags, southern whites who
supported Reconstruction, were supporters of Reconstruction. However, many white supremacist
groups such as the Ku Klux Klan didn t and even tried to intimidate freedmen and Republicans to
try to bring an end to Reconstruction and equal rights for freed slaves. From this, it shows that
Reconstruction died of two causes, northern neglect and southern resistance. However, I think
northern neglect was the primary cause of the end of Reconstruction.... Show more content on

scandals, which means that because of the scandals, the North will focus more on the scandals

racist way, saying that they were unfit for the proper exercise of political duties because of them
being slaves for so long, they weren t capable of running a government without assistance (Doc. D,

The United Height Of The Transition Of Philadelphia s...
At the height of the transition of Philadelphia s economy from agricultural to industrial,
Philadelphia experienced a period of economic prosperity for almost all its citizens. Businesses
were booming, new projects and development were established, the banking and commerce
industries soared and a record number of jobs were created enabling the city to reach full
employment rate, something that the city has yet to experience since. Citizens were confident in
the government and financial institutions were equally confident in their citizens as evident by lax
lending habits. As all good things typically come to an end, Philadelphia had an economic turn for
the absolute worse. In 1920, the stock market crashed with several major bank failures and
employment rate plummeted. The city then went through the worse financial time in the history of
the U.S. known as the Great Depression. Citizens looked to their government for ways and means
of ending the suffrage wreaking havoc on a once thriving and prosperous city. The significant
increase in unemployment rate resulted in citizens losing trust and hope in the Republican Party,
the party in power at the time. The New Deal initiative was then developed under President
Roosevelt, which slowly ushered in the recovery of the economy and the city as a whole. The
effects of the Great Depressions were alleviated to some degree; nevertheless the city struggled to
achieve economic stability once more, but there was hope in sight. Despite the

Keratin In Organisms
Keratin monomers come together and form keratin intermediate filaments. These keratin
intermediate filaments can assemble into strong networks that assist in attaching keratinocytes

also fasten the epidermis to underlying layers of skin.

the structure for things many organisms have like hair, nails, feathers, skin, etc.I would expect to

Chromosomal Abnormalities And Single Gene Disorders
Chromosomal abnormalities and single gene disorders are major causes of different complicated
human diseases including cancer (Grade, Difilippantonie, and Camps, 2015). Identification of
chromosomal abnormalities and single gene defects is crucial step in diagnosis and treatment of
various diseases. Currently, clinical laboratories are applying different types of molecular
diagnostics methods to detect chromosomal abnormalities and single gene disorders (Mahdieh and
Rabbani, 2013).
Chromosomal Abnormalities and Molecular Methods
Chromosomal abnormalities caused by errors at the number of chromosomal pairing and structural
damages during cell division (Mahdieh and Rabbani, 2013). Examples of these abnormalities are
duplication, inversion, insertion, deletion, and translocation, ring shaped chromosome, and breakage
of part of chromosome structure (Mahdieh and Rabbani, 2013).
Molecular diagnostic analysis of chromosomal abnormalities developed dramatically from time to
time. Chromosome analysis started from simple karyotyping and developed to sophisticated and
high productive molecular techniques, such as florescence in situ hybridization (FISH),
comparative genomic hybridization (CGH), and next generation sequencing (NGS) (Grade et.al,
2015).
Karyotyping is time consuming and limited to the analysis of single patient s sample at a time
(Grade et.al, 2015). This test method needs cell culturing to prepare chromosomes for analysis.
Culturing cells takes from 24 hours to 48 hours

Analysis Of Michael Chorost s My Bionic Quest For Bolero
God creates every day and every day is a miracle. The New Oxford Dictionary defines a miracle
as, a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is,
therefore, considered to be the work of a divine agency. Everything that is experienced from
morning until night is a miracle. Though these marvels are amazing, they are taken for granted.
Things like listening to music, walking, talking, smelling, and living are all Gods miracles and
are all taken for granted. All these gifts from God are forgotten or regarded as a given like they

Africa was sold and shipped to the West Indies, and New Orleans. They were ruled by the French
and the Spanish, who were very harsh owners. Life for the slaves was full of misery and agony.
They were treated so brutally because the white captors feared an uprising of the slaves. For
example, the captors treated the slaves as if they were inhumane. They would break them down,
mentally and emotionally until they ve lost all identification of self and could be worked from

happens. Whether it s another hard day of work to support your family or making anxious and
pressuring decisions that will decide the fate of a company. They are all rewarding experiences
whether the rewardis minimum wage or landing million dollar contracts. I have never
experienced what people might call hardship before, not until I became 12. Before that, the only
thing I saw as problems were school and the occasional fights at my school. It was never anything
serious, just some scratches. A few years before I was 12, the year I immigrated here to America,
my dad has talked about his thoughts and plans about it. I can remember him putting his hand on
my shoulder with a firm yet gentle grip and speaking Chinese, which roughly translates to You ve
got to study hard, especially English, you will make much use of it later. I didn t understand much
of it then.
But that all changed when I came to America. One day, not long after I moved into my first

The Big Five Personality Traits Essay
The personality trait that I chose is one of the big five personality traits known as Extraversion.
Extraversion is a trait, within the factor called plasticity, which relates to individuals who are
social and outgoing. More specifically, they like a lot of various stimulation, it comes of no
surprise that these individuals seek out people, activities and noisy places. These individuals can
seek excitement; they are impulsive, risk taking, argumentative and unreliable, while also
upbeat, optimistic, warm, assertive, and like to be active. As well, extroverts tend to be viewed
as more attractive and popular than introverts are, and can be seen attending more parties and
drinking in excess. The individual that I will address is, Hank Moody, the main character on the
T.V. show Californiacation. Hank approaches life in a satirical manner, making everything into
his own little joke, making life seem less serious. Hank is seen as a popular, enthusiastic,
assertive, dominant and attractive woman admirer, having a way with his words, which is related
to his career as a writer. His charming and warm approach also makes him successful with so many
women. Hank constantly seeks out attention and stimulating situations, whether it be fights, or
making his presence known in a room. He becomes victim to mate poaching at parties, and when
things finally look good for him and his ex, he gets swept up by other women and loses the
momentum he builds. In the show, Hank is always friending new

Child Labour And Indi Causes, Challenges And Legislations
Child Labour in India: Causes, Challenges and Legislations to combat the malaise.
Abstract: Child labour continues to be a problem even today in many parts of the world. These
children are mostly inhabitants of poor undeveloped nations of South America, Africa and Asia.
They live in harsh conditions with almost no access to education. The income earned by them,
however minimal, is necessary to feed and clothe their families who are dependent on them. The
families have no other option but to push their children to work in various informal industrial and
agricultural sectors in order to make ends meet. They are simply not aware of the harm this does to
their young children nor is there an orientation to send these children to school instead. The
Government of India has taken a lot of legal initiatives in order to address this serious issue of child
labour. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has been proactively involved in the
eradication of this malaise plaguing Indian society. India is also a participant in the United Nation
s International Program on Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) under the aegis of ILO. The
present paper will look at the various causes which lead to child labour, the international and
national legislations that are in place to eliminate this glaring menace and the steps which must be
taken in order to abolish child labour in the country.

Languages, Grammars and Automata Theory
Languages, Grammars, and Automata Theory
Discrete Mathematics

Professor Timothy Manzke
December 17, 2010
Languages, grammars and automata theory are all related to computer applications. Grammar is the
rule for language structure regardless of the meaning. For computer programming languages
context free grammar (CFG) is commonly used. Formal language as opposed to natural language
must be used with computer applications because natural language is too vague for computer
applications. Automata is a way to test an expression to determine if it is part of the language
(Pfeifer, 2005).
A deterministic finite automata (DFA) is a machine that is the most simple to understand which will

Pure, Hybrid, Stuck-in-the-Middle Strategies
Pure, hybrid or stuck in the middle strategies? A revision and analysis of their effects on firm
performance. PERTUSA ORTEGA, E.; CLAVER CORTГ‰S, E.; MOLINA AZORГ

EURAM, Paris (France), may 2007. Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine the viability
of hybrid competitive strategies, which combine differentiation and cost elements, and their impact
on organisational performance in comparison to pure strategies and stuck in the middle
combinations. The analysis carried out on a multisectorial sample of 164 Spanish firms has
revealed that a large number of them use different types of hybrid strategies and also that such
strategies tend to be associated with higher levels of firm performance, particularly those... Show

1 2 The present paper seeks to contribute to this debate about the influence of pure and hybrid
strategies on performance in various ways. Firstly, this research study takes a further step
toward the generalisation of the results of previous works by carrying out a multisectorial
analysis. Secondly, the study has used data about Spanish firms; it must be remembered that
empirical research had so far basically centred on US data (Ghobadian, Veettil and O Regan,
2006). In this respect, Spain can prove to be an interesting context for the study of competitive
strategies because it is a country which has experienced a significant economic development in
recent years, competition via differentiation having acquired more and more importance as
opposed to costs. Thirdly, few studies have had as their specific main aim to check the
relationship between hybrid strategies and performance. Further theoretical work and additional
replications are thus needed to refine methodologies (Campbell Hunt, 2000; Fritz, 2006; Parnell,
1997). The present paper will therefore try to perform a statistical analysis of the effect caused by
pure and hybrid competitive strategies on performance. Finally, the stuck in the middle concept has
been examined in depth, analysing, too, its implications for performance compared to pure and
hybrid strategies, a topic that few studies had dealt with so far. In order to achieve our aims, we have

A Study On New Guinea
New Guinea is located in Indonesia, which is situated between Asia and Australia. Papua is a
country which occupies the eastern half of New Guinea and is not a very well explored country,
geographically, or culturally. A small tribe of about 3000 people occupies a remote and rural part
of the southeastern side of the island and they are known as the Korowaitribe. The Korowai people
were discovered in Papua New Guineain 1974. This tribe along with many other tribes in Papua
New Guineaexperience little to no contact with other tribes or outsiders. The Korowai tribe is
unique because they are one of the few tribes on Earth that are still believed to practice
cannibalism. Even though they were only discovered in 1974, they are believed to... Show more

All the materials for building the houses are gathered from the surrounding land. Each family
chooses an area to build their house where the resources are plentiful.
The tall treehouses serve the purpose of protecting the children and women from capitation by
other clans for slavery or cannibalism (Gros, n.d). Wooden barriers around the treehouses
protect children. Yes, the Korowai people have practiced cannibalism, according to
anthropologists. Emily Payne, a publisher in the Daily Mail, says anthropologists suspect that
cannibalism is no longer practiced by the Korowai clans, despite reports of it as recently as 2006
(Payne, 2015). A reporter for the Smithsonian magazine named, Paul Raffaele, visited the
Korowai tribe in New Guinea to find the truth about their cannibalism. He reported that, today
the Korowai are among the very few tribes believed to eat human flesh. They live about 100
miles inland from the Arafura Sea, which is where Michael Rockefeller, a son of then New York
governor Nelson Rockefeller, disappeared in 1961 while collecting artifacts from another Papuan
tribe; his body was never found. Most Korowai still live with little knowledge of the world beyond
their homelands and frequently feud with one another. Some are said to kill and eat male witches
they call khakhua.
In other words, the Korowai practice cannibalism, not for fun, but

Women s Role Of Women In The Meiji Restoration
Women in the Meiji Restoration During the Meiji era and revolution, the presence of strong
leaders led to the continuous progression of policies on the equality between sexes. The leaders
urged the female gender to arise and advocate for their rights. Fukuzawa Yukichi was the first
scholar to speak out on the rights of women inclusive of their positions and roles in the society. He
made emphasis in the creation of education policies for the women and their improvement within
the society. The American missionaries on their arrival to Japan advocated towards the abolishment
of the mistress customs and law. Also, patriarchy was inclusive of the policies they wanted to be
abolished. Women roles in the home were mainly characterized by them being good wives. They
were required to obey their husbands and raise intelligent children. The requirement was that they
be obedient to the man of the house that was their father, husband, and son when their husbands
were deceased. The women were responsible for cooking, taking care of both young and elderly,
and fed the family members. The Meiji government started the school policy with the advancement
on the principle of gender equality. The leaders and authority established it was essential to educate
citizens to ensure the modernization of Japan. An education code was created in 1872 with the
establishment of approximately 20, 000 schools through the country. However, there were more
boys than girls enrollment due to the Japanese

The Centralization And Development Of Urbanization In Africa
Africa is a rapidly urbanizing continent, experiencing tremendous growth and transformation with
an increasing concentration of cities. Today, it boasts a greater number of urban dwellers than
Europe, Australia, North or South America. However, situations were not always so promising.
The arrival of imperialism and the start of colonial rule in the 19th century served to exploit the
growth of physical, economic, and human resources of a flourishing Africato benefit European
powers. By setting severe economic and social restrictions on things such as trade and education,
the Europeans developed a colonized state which arrested all other natural development of the
African system. Nonetheless, during the approximately five and half decades after independence,
citizens began to slowly migrate to city hubs around the continent as various countries like Ethiopia
and Tanzania developed socially and politically. This movement from rural to urban, a typical
mobility characteristic of Africa, resulted in an expansion of leadership, institutions, and technical
domains such design and finance. Urbanization has thus played a significant role in the
development of factors including gender, inequality, and economic growth, as well as downturn.
However, it has presented both opportunities and challenges which, in turn, have impacted the state
of cities in modern day Africa.
Since 1960, African cities have been growing fast, more so than the population. A direct result of
this rapid urbanization has been the growth of opportunities for people seeking a better,
comfortable life with their transition out of rural settings. For decades, this increased centralization
has brought various cultures, perspectives, and talents together in an effort to place Africa on the
global, economic scale. However, a drastic consequence of the growth of cities has been an
increased inequality amongst its members, both economically and in terms of the standard of
living. Income inequality creates a significant discrepancy between the rich and the poor. Whereas
large manufacturers enjoy wealth through their involvement in an export oriented economy, laborers
work through grueling hours in tiring conditions to earn minimum wage which can barely

Why Was Andrew Jackson Responsible For The Trail Of Tears...
Thesis: Andrew Jackson was not responsible for the Trail of Tears or crimes against humanity.
Reason 1: He prevented a major conflict between the states and federal government. He didn t have
anything to do with the crime caused by the indians.
reason 2: The Villa Academy 8th Grade U.S. History students traveled to the Federal Courthouse in
downtown Seattle to try former president Andrew Jackson for his alleged crimes against humanity,
which occurred in the 1830 s as Americans moved west. Reason 3: The law authorized the
president to negotiate with southern Native American tribes for their removal to federal territory
west of the Mississippi River in exchange for their lands.
Andrew Jackson was an American soldier and statesman who

Power Relation Within The Household
power relation within the household. According to Kottegoda (2006) majority of the migrant
women practiced their control over earnings by sending part of the earnings to a bank account on
their own name to ensure that no one else can handle it.
The 16% successful return entrepreneurs who were depicted in Handapangoda (2012) survey have
been maintaining their business ventures by investing the cash savings which were initiated during
their stay in Middle East. For most migrants out of this 16%, the income earned through the
business was the only income for the family, thus the contribution served as the de facto
breadwinner role .
Improved role of decision making
Decision making power can be considered as the agency of making choices as far as
empowerment concepts considered (Kabeer, 1999). For the purpose of this study decision making
is categorised as financial decision making and non financial decision making within the house
hold level. Decisions such as house hold resource allocation and spending are financial while
decisions such as child care, domestic matters and social concerns are considered non financial.
Compared to the less influential power of decision making power before migration, 90% of
migrant women reported improved level of decision making power during their stay
(Handapangoda, 2012). This is basically related to the relatively greater financial contribution of
them to the household income. It has opened wider opportunity and agency over house hold

The difference between pandas in the wild and in captivity. The captive ones can live up to 30 years. According to (www.livescience.com) they live longer in captivity than they do in the wild. When they live in the wild they often die from being overweight. However they don t always live the same length as they do in the wild. The ones out in the wild live between 15 20. According to Christina Stevens on Pet.On.Me, Pandas live longer in captivity because they are provided with the right amount of food they need a day, in the wild they are not (http://animals.mom.me). The pandas that live in captivity survive longer because they are provided with the food they need, not to much, not to less.( I think they did a lot of research on how much the eat and instead of letting them eat almost all the time they only let them eat: Breakfast, Lunch, and ... Explain the basic logic of probability theory Probability can be a complex field of mathematics, but in its simplest definition it is the likelhood of an event being true divided by the total number of possibilities. For example, flipping a coin has two possibilities: heads or tails. There is only one way for a coin to land on heads, so the answer to this probability question is 1:2. 1. In a poll, respondents were asked whether they had ever been in a car accident. 177 respondents indicated that they had been in a car accident and 107 respondents said that they had not been in a car accident. If one of these respondents is randomly selected, what is the probability of getting someone who has been in a car accident? 177 = Probability of choosing someone who was in a car accident because fraction cannot be reduced any more 107 than it is. So the odds are 177 out of 284 total choices. 2. The data set represents the income levels of the members of a country club. • 5. Participation In Democratic Political Participation The question why nonprofit organizations exist can be answered in various forms, depending on which disciplines and orientations one has adopted. In political theory, for instance, nonprofit exists because of its partnership with the government sector in financing a variety of public services. The political scientists view both existences in relations to providing opportunities for civic participation in the pluralistic and political system of a heterogeneous society (Wikipedia, 2017). In order to respond to the above question, we first and foremost defined democratic political participation. The democratic political participation is a means by which a person contributes to a political process by making his or her opinion and beliefs known (Wikipedia, 2017). In addition, it originates from the freedom to speak out, to assemble, and to associate (Boris, 2017). In assessing the role of nonprofit in democratic political participation, Elizabeth Clemens considers nonprofit organizations as an entity for building relationships that holds communities together and provides opportunities for civic participation (Otto Dicke, 2015). Obviously, nonprofit organizations are renowned for thriving and successful democracies. Essentially, they assist to build the networks of trust and reciprocity, the social capital that allows democratic societies to function effectively (Putnam 1993; Walzer 1991). Citizens, on the other hand, participate in democratic governance by joining together to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An asset with a thirty year life will be amortized over a shorter period when it is expected to be used (will generate revenue) for the shorter period. 9. The straight line method reports depreciation as a variable amount per unit of output and a fixed amount per period, whereas the productive output method reports depreciation as a fixed amount per unit of output and a variable amount per period. 10. Straight line amortization is likely popular because it is simple to calculate, logically appealing, rational and systematic, often portrays the pattern of benefits received (equal each period), and because it provides a stable expense pattern. 11. Accelerated methods of amortization result in a periodic amortization charge that is less in each succeeding period than the prior period. • 10. Lord Of The Flies Beast Analysis Lord of the Flies: What is a beast? Every human being has something that they are deeply afraid of. This fear can be referred to as one s beast. This beast cannot be hunted or killed, but thrives in the evil that lives inside all humans. Unfortunately, Sir William Golding wanted the characters in The Lord of the Flies, to find this out the hard way. The characters believe, but some deny the fact that there is a beast on the island on which they are stranded. They try to hunt for the beast on the island until one day, one child, Simon, discovers the horrible truth about what the beast really is, the boys themselves. Lord of the Flies wants readers to believe that humans are truly malevolent, and with no laws in place to prevent humans from reverting to these evil ways, evil rises and takes over. Lord of the Flies is written to depict how humans are truly evil when no societal norms are present, chaos breaks loose over time. For example, the boys are stuck on an island after a plane crash killed all their parents, so the boys have no adult supervision. To start, the boys act as if they were still in England, when Ralph calls a meeting using an important symbol, a conch shell himself and Piggy had found in the sand. The conch at first represents authority, Ralph, elected chief, uses it to call meetings, and whoever hold the conch has the right to speak. The effectiveness of the conch is very successful at first, but as the boys become more vicious, the value of the conch ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many entrepreneurs will find themselves booking flights to places they had never heard of. What do you think companies can do now to prepare their managers for these new markets? Knowing that the government has recently launched an initiative to reduce corruption, how do you react? If additional information would be helpful to you, what would it be? Answer I think I have to give them a tip because in that country the bribery is relatively accepted, and I think they can make my job easier. Moreover , the value of the incoming shipment is pretty high, it might have a damage on my goods if I do not give them a tip because they might do not care about my shipment and I think to give a tip for somebody is not a corruption, but it shows you are very appreciated in their jobs. • 14. What Does The Scaffold Symbolize In The Scarlet Letter Symbol of Sin In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, the use of a torturous scaffold symbolizes sin and redemption. In Hawthorne s novel, the afflicting scaffold is present in three scenes throughout the story. The first scene occurs during the introduction of the novel, where Hester Prynne is given time on the structure in return for her sinful crime of adultery. The second scene occurs in the middle of the novel, where Arthur Dimmesdale stands on the scaffold, feeling remorse and guilt for his crime which he commits with Prynne. The final scene takes place in the resolution of the story, where Dimmesdale is dying and confesses his sin in front of the whole town. • 16. New City Construction Museum History I recently took a trip to the New York Transit Museum (NYTM) where I discovered many things. First, the museum itself is the Court Street station whose line ceased in June 1946. The station had been abandoned due to slow traffic and remained deserted until the museum opened in 1976. It was fascinating to see the evolution of train cars and turnstiles from its conception in the early 1900s compared to what they are like today. Interestingly, in spite of the progression of train cars, the concept of how the system operated is not much different from how it is done today. The station remained intact since it was abandoned all those years ago. Various effects such as the signs and the tower remained unchanged since its commencement in 1936. • 17. Difference Between Art And Contemporary Art Christian Casas Rafael Hernandez LIT3400 The Everyday A typical way of relating social/political issues to art assumes that art represents the thing one way or another. But there can be a more interesting perspective, which is looking at the field of art as a place of work. Basically look at what it does not what it shows. Amid all other forms of art, fine art has been associated with post Fordist ideology. Post Fordism is a popular system of economically based on production, consumption and has been in most industrialized countries since the late 20th century. Contemporary art is not an out of this world discipline hidden away in some remote building. In fact, it s the opposite because it positions itself in the thick of things. It can function as a brand name without a brand feeding off the bits and pieces of social and political issues. Presently, contemporary art has grown apart from important hubs, which gives the artist a wider range of production and provides various opportunities for showcasing the work. In contrast, this has not always been the case. Artist in novels about portraitures are depicted as servants due to the flow of cash. Art should be functioning on its own without the need of an institutional backing in order to create separation between the artist and their work as well as what the work can do . Portraits appear as an object already existing in the world and about whose producer and the process of production not much (most often nothing) needs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Sa s The Organisation Contexts Of Projects Essay SA 2 THE ORGANISATION CONTEXTS OF PROJECTS: INTRODUCTION: The success of any organisation or project depends on proper synchronization of different supportive factors ranging from full understanding and application of general organizational philosophy, proper use of resources, prudent leadership and dependable systems of a particular business set up. Organizational systems or structures are not static as they are directly linked to the strategies in place at a particular time Media: (50 Lessons, (2004) ). All these factors are important for effective project execution and realization of organisation goals. With the foregoing dependencies, it is imperative therefore, that project managers study the mission and vision statements of the organisations that they work in or work for so that they work well while knowing the kind of organisation culture that surround them and the general expectations thereof. As organization cultures and labour force in place differ from industry to industry, project managers decisions on team role composition are therefore influenced by varying contextual situations in which projects that they lead exist. By 2035, it is estimated that the need for parking space should decline more than 5.7 billion square meters as a result of driverless cars. Experts speculate that individual car ownership will become a thing of the past, and that individuals will purchase a subscription service or buy into a cardominium where an autonomous vehicle, that no longer needs to be parked on site, will arrive and take an individual to their desired destination. For condominiums that are located in densely populated urban areas, parking spaces are often sold between co owners at a premium. In most cases, onsite parking spaces are limited common elements that are associated with an individual unit. Learn More About Landscape Photography Reading the article, you will learn more about Landscape Photography. Here are given some techniques to follow. 1. Depth of field Many landscape photographers desire an image which appears sharp throughout the scene, so that elements of foreground interest, such as a rock in a lake, look just as sharp as the distant horizon. This can be achieved relatively easily using the principles of depth of field whereby the smaller an aperture you use, such as f/22, the greater the area both before and beyond the point of focus also ... Capture Movement Most people think about landscapes they think of calm, serene and passive environments however landscapes are rarely completely still and to convey this movement in an image will add drama, mood and create a point of interest. Wind in trees, waves on a beach, water flowing over a waterfall, birds flying over head, moving clouds make image nice. Capturing this movement generally means you need to look at a longer shutter speed. This means more light hitting your sensor which will mean you need to either go for a small Aperture, use some sort of a filter or even shoot at the start or end of the day when there is less light. 8. Work with the Weather A scene can change dramatically depending upon the weather at any given moment. So, choosing the right time to shoot is of real importance. An overcast day threatening to rain might provide you with a much better opportunity to create an image with real mood and ominous overtones. Look for storms, wind, mist, dramatic clouds, sun shining through dark skies, rainbows, sunsets and sunrises etc and work with these variations in the weather rather than just waiting for the next sunny blue sky ... Anzia Yezierska s novel Bread Givers and Assimilation of Jews An entire chapter of Eric Liu s memoir, The Accidental Asian, is founded on the supposition that Jews today serve as a metaphor for assimilation into American culture. According to Liu, this is due to the ease with which Jews have been able to assimilate. However, the progress that Jews have made in embracing and affecting America has been gradual rather than instantaneous, as evidenced by the character Sara Smolensky in Anzia Yezierska s novel Bread Givers. Sara is not the symbol of an assimilated Jew, but instead represents a period of transition between complete assimilation into American identity and complete dissimilation from her Jewish and Polish heritage, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sara s willing dedication to her American identity, as represented by her clothing, is contrasted with the blood relationship she has with her mother, and by extension her actions separate her from her entire ancestry and ethnicity. Denounced for her refusal to comply with the traditions of her culture, and disdainfully called an Americanerin, Sara experiences the social death that Sollors describes, a result of her cultural relationships having become mutually antagonistic (xx). In this scene she temporarily ceases to be Jewish and becomes to her people and to her family merely a female American. This schism is paralleled by a more subtle contrast at the conclusion of the same chapter that should be noted, when Sara hears the poverty stricken cries that Charity saves you from death (256)! This statement of course cannot be literally true, but displays a further contrast between the voluntary and the natural on a more literal level: voluntary generosity versus natural inevitable death. Sara is further distanced from her ethnicity through her resistance to the patriarchal doctrines of Judaism that are followed by her family. Sexually biased Judaism is represented by her father and his frequent citations of the Torah to justify such a position. Hinduism, on the other hand, is much more complex, offering multiple ways to achieve moksha and providing many answers to the ancient question of what happens after we die? Many people think that Hindus believe in many deities, but the Hindu concept of Godis much broader than that. In fact, Hinduismitself encompasses much more than just one specific set of religious beliefs. While some Hindus believe that God is a divine being with certain identifiable attributes, others believe that God cannot be defined and is an all pervading being that extends beyond everything. Although some beliefs differ, the majority of Hindus see the concept of God in multiple ways. Among these are the concepts of God as one and many, God and the soul, God as sound, God as image, God in nature, cows, and avatara. One of Hinduism s most distinguishing features is the concept of multiple gods. These multiple gods are manifestations of the various powers of the divine. Hindus believe that the all pervasive God is both one and many. Because this concept carries the idea of God as an omnipresent being, everything can be seen as being God s form. Hindus worship many Gods, but they also believe that the divine is singular or one. These Gods are representations of different aspects of the overall God. Although their worship of multiple ... Response Paper On Sexual Offenders Chapter 6: Response Paper Sexual offenders refer to sexual acts against a victim s will and includes a wide range of behaviors ranging from exposing oneself in a public place to rape. Probation and parole officers have the difficult task of working with sexual offenders and trying to help them during their rehabilitation process. From researching different sources, I have concluded that risk assessment, treatment, supervision, and restrictions/registration have effectively helped by working with sexual offenders in the community. Risk assessment is useful as a validated tool that provides a gauge of the offender s tendency to commit additional criminal activity and indicates the level of intervention necessary. According to the NGA (1), Most of the currently used sex offender risk instruments are designed solely to gather information on static factors, or those features of an individual s experience that are unchangeable. These factors can be used to assess long term recidivism potential, but not to identify treatment needs or to predict the timing of a re offense. The risk assessment is a preventative strategy that helps probation officers assess the offender so they can determine whether the offender is a risk to the community or what type of treatment they will need. Shale Gas Of Ammonium And Ethylene Shale Gas to Ammonium and Ethylene Nikita Cardenas, Lucas Freiberg, James Watkins, Heitor Almeida Rogerio RA2 Main Goals: We are interested in using our shale gas stream, which we currently sell as heating fuel, to create another product of value. We are considering taking the shale gas and producing anhydrous ammonia, urea, ammonia sulfate, and ethylene. The main goal is to make a greater profit from our shale gas by selling it as more valuable products rather than solely heating fuel. Specific objectives and requirements: This project aims to create valuable products from natural gas extracted from shale formations. The shale gas feed entering the process contains mostly hydrocarbons that can be transformed into a variety of value added chemicals, but it also contains impurities that must be removed. Carbon dioxide is useful in the chemical reactions utilized to convert hydrocarbons into hydrogen gas (in order to create ammonia), but at 8 mole percent, the concentration of CO2 in our feed will dilute the shale gas and may cause corrosion. Hydrogen sulfide is not only hazardous to health and corrosive to pipelines, but also destroys metal catalysts used in the processes downstream. These impurities can be removed using a variety of separations techniques. Once removed, however, sulfur should not be considered a waste product. It can be collected and used in ammonium sulfate fertilizer. Depending of the desired quality of gas, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We visited San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo and San Juan Bautista. Both were presented as old churches that the Indians and Mexicans came to practice at and lived in. I looked through the glass cases and saw the tools and pictures and copies of the Bible. The placards described what the tools were used for and where the Bibles came from. The drawings showed Father Serra or the lands as they looked then. The recent tour I did of the missions showed that things had not changed much. The New Oxford Dictionary defines a miracle as, a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is, therefore, considered to be the work of a divine agency. Everything that is experienced from morning until night is a miracle. Though these marvels are amazing, they are taken for granted. Things like listening to music, walking, talking, smelling, and living are all Gods miracles and are all taken for granted. Majority of Africa was sold and shipped to the West Indies, and New Orleans. They were ruled by the French and the Spanish, who were very harsh owners. Life for the slaves was full of misery and agony. They were treated so brutally because the white captors feared an uprising of the slaves. For example, the captors treated the slaves as if they were inhumane. They would break them down, mentally and emotionally until they ve lost all identification of self and could be worked from dawn till dusk with no refusal. The slaves were tortured until they were considered tamed enough, and then they were sold to plantations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of them being difficult situations that require a bit more than some fine tuning to resolve. We usually try to avoid these situations, because they are trouble and bothersome. Extraversion is a trait, within the factor called plasticity, which relates to individuals who are social and outgoing. More specifically, they like a lot of various stimulation, it comes of no surprise that these individuals seek out people, activities and noisy places. These individuals can seek excitement; they are impulsive, risk taking, argumentative and unreliable, while also upbeat, optimistic, warm, assertive, and like to be active. As well, extroverts tend to be viewed as more attractive and popular than introverts are, and can be seen attending more parties and drinking in excess. The individual that I will address is, Hank Moody, the main character on the T.V. show Californiacation. Hank approaches life in a satirical manner, making everything into his own little joke, making life seem less serious. Hank is seen as a popular, enthusiastic, assertive, dominant and attractive woman admirer, having a way with his words, which is related to his career as a writer. His charming and warm approach also makes him successful with so many women. Hank constantly seeks out attention and stimulating situations, whether it be fights, or making his presence known in a room. Abstract: Child labour continues to be a problem even today in many parts of the world. These children are mostly inhabitants of poor undeveloped nations of South America, Africa and Asia. They live in harsh conditions with almost no access to education. The income earned by them, however minimal, is necessary to feed and clothe their families who are dependent on them. The families have no other option but to push their children to work in various informal industrial and agricultural sectors in order to make ends meet. They are simply not aware of the harm this does to their young children nor is there an orientation to send these children to school instead. The Government of India has taken a lot of legal initiatives in order to address this serious issue of child labour. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has been proactively involved in the eradication of this malaise plaguing Indian society. India is also a participant in the United Nation s International Program on Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) under the aegis of ILO. The present paper will look at the various causes which lead to child labour, the international and national legislations that are in place to eliminate this glaring menace and the steps which must be taken in order to abolish child labour in the country. PERTUSA ORTEGA, E.; CLAVER CORTГ‰S, E.; MOLINA AZORГ ЌN, J. F EURAM, Paris (France), may 2007. Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine the viability of hybrid competitive strategies, which combine differentiation and cost elements, and their impact on organisational performance in comparison to pure strategies and stuck in the middle combinations. The analysis carried out on a multisectorial sample of 164 Spanish firms has revealed that a large number of them use different types of hybrid strategies and also that such strategies tend to be associated with higher levels of firm performance, particularly those... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1 2 The present paper seeks to contribute to this debate about the influence of pure and hybrid strategies on performance in various ways. Firstly, this research study takes a further step toward the generalisation of the results of previous works by carrying out a multisectorial analysis. Secondly, the study has used data about Spanish firms; it must be remembered that empirical research had so far basically centred on US data (Ghobadian, Veettil and O Regan, 2006). In this respect, Spain can prove to be an interesting context for the study of competitive strategies because it is a country which has experienced a significant economic development in recent years, competition via differentiation having acquired more and more importance as opposed to costs. Thirdly, few studies have had as their specific main aim to check the relationship between hybrid strategies and performance. Further theoretical work and additional replications are thus needed to refine methodologies (Campbell Hunt, 2000; Fritz, 2006; Parnell, 1997). The present paper will therefore try to perform a statistical analysis of the effect caused by pure and hybrid competitive strategies on performance. Finally, the stuck in the middle concept has been examined in depth, analysing, too, its implications for performance compared to pure and hybrid strategies, a topic that few studies had dealt with so far. The Centralization And Development Of Urbanization In Africa Africa is a rapidly urbanizing continent, experiencing tremendous growth and transformation with an increasing concentration of cities. Today, it boasts a greater number of urban dwellers than Europe, Australia, North or South America. However, situations were not always so promising. The arrival of imperialism and the start of colonial rule in the 19th century served to exploit the growth of physical, economic, and human resources of a flourishing Africato benefit European powers. By setting severe economic and social restrictions on things such as trade and education, the Europeans developed a colonized state which arrested all other natural development of the African system. Nonetheless, during the approximately five and half decades after independence, citizens began to slowly migrate to city hubs around the continent as various countries like Ethiopia and Tanzania developed socially and politically. This movement from rural to urban, a typical mobility characteristic of Africa, resulted in an expansion of leadership, institutions, and technical domains such design and finance. Urbanization has thus played a significant role in the development of factors including gender, inequality, and economic growth, as well as downturn. However, it has presented both opportunities and challenges which, in turn, have impacted the state of cities in modern day Africa. Since 1960, African cities have been growing fast, more so than the population. A direct result of this rapid urbanization has been the growth of opportunities for people seeking a better, comfortable life with their transition out of rural settings. For decades, this increased centralization has brought various cultures, perspectives, and talents together in an effort to place Africa on the global, economic scale. However, a drastic consequence of the growth of cities has been an increased inequality amongst its members, both economically and in terms of the standard of living. Income inequality creates a significant discrepancy between the rich and the poor. According to Kottegoda (2006) majority of the migrant women practiced their control over earnings by sending part of the earnings to a bank account on their own name to ensure that no one else can handle it. The 16% successful return entrepreneurs who were depicted in Handapangoda (2012) survey have been maintaining their business ventures by investing the cash savings which were initiated during their stay in Middle East. For most migrants out of this 16%, the income earned through the business was the only income for the family, thus the contribution served as the de facto breadwinner role .
