An Example Of A Personal Narrative (Essay)
Janelly Jimenez LSAC #L33002690 Narration (Description of what is being seen and experienced)
Unable to open my eyes, waking up trying to identify where I was, pedestrians stared, pointed and
yelled Oh! My god. Call 911 . Cars drove by. The sirens were heard but not spotted. What Happened?
Where was I? I wept as if the entire world, and all of its beauty, had come to an end. And in a way, it
had. On the night of April 7,1997 my thin body flew from the backseat passenger side of a Nissan
Sentra crashing through the front passenger window onto the roadway of Old Town, Staten Island. I
woke up on a hospital stretcher perplexed, unaware of what had just occurred. I had partial vision. My
eyes were filled with shattered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally I arrived home after two long weeks. I attempted to return to normalcy without my nurses at
my bedside. But I couldn t. At the age of 7, I was confronted with the biggest decision I would ever
make in life. I had to determine if I would adapt to this physical change or let it plague me for the rest
of my life. But how and where would I begin? My life had changed direction at such a young age;
literally. I had to learn how to function using my left hand opposed to my right. I worked on my
penmanship day and night it was quite frustrating. My occupational therapists helped me with writing
exercises. I slowly adapted to my new lifestyle. I bathed and fed myself. One of my biggest challenges
was learning to tie my shoe. I could have used curly shoe string but I wasn t too fond of that idea. I
wanted to learn how to tie them myself instead of asking someone. I decided to use the tools I had
available to me in this case it was the rest of my body. With the help of my jaw and left arm I was able
to tie my shoelaces. I wasn t able to tie them standing but I lifted my legs while I sat toward my face
and I was able to successfully tie my

Amethyst Research Paper
Birthstone Amethyst
The deep purple amethyst has long been assigned spirital, purifying and protective qualities. Found
across the world its use has been traced back to Neolithic Europe. It holds strong associations to love,
healing and both physical and spiritual protection. It s energies are that of fire, it is said to inflame the
passions and spark creativity, boost spirituality and encourage both logic and temperance in the
wearer.
Most closely associated with St Valentine, Bachuss, and Dionysus, it represents faithful love and
ecclesiastical dignity. In the Chakra the amethyst is the stone of the Crown Chakra, aiding in the
connection to the divine. The amethyst is ruled by both Neptune and jupiter and is consideed to be one
of the best stones to wear while doing any sort of mediation or work that utlizes the subconscious
mind.

It s name is derived from the ancient greek word ametusthos ( ἀ a ( not ) and μέθυστος méthystos (

applications. It was often incorporated into the crowns and jewelry of royalty. There have been
examples of its use traced as far back as the Neolithic people of Europe.
In Ancient Egypt it was valued for its healing and protective properties. They believed that the stone
could bring relief from both guilt and fear and protect the wearer while they traveled. The Greeks and
the Romans equated the stone with Dionysus/Bacchus and believed it would protect them from
drunkenness. They would also place the stone under their pillow at night as a cure for insomnia and to
bring sweet dreams. If warmed and placed on the forehead they believed it would reduce the

Peter Pan Motherhood
The novel Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie illustrates how Peter Pan, an aggressive
adolescent, attempts the abduction of younger male children in order to bring them to his
magical island called Neverland. These young males then serve him and serve on
expeditions and as soldiers in a youthful gang. In an unusual phenomenon, Mr. Pan brings
Wendy, a young female, to his island in order that she might tell him and his lost boys about
the tale of Cinderella and to be their mother. In chapter 6, readers observe that Peter Pan is
extremely protective of Wendy, even to the point of staying awake on guard at night. At the
finally of the book, Peter then promises to bring Wendy back to Neverland, promising to
remember to bring her for spring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

tuck us in at night, [said he] And you could darn our clothes and make pockets for us. None
of us has any pockets. (42). Peter emphasis that the boys need a mother to work for them.
However, Peter himself is too slothful to learn how to sew and too proud to tuck his own
children into bed. Mr. Pan s selfishness controls his actions which then influence his
compassion. In these minute instances, we can see his true character and his true adoration
show. Towards the end of the novel, Peter returns only once to Wendy after she left
Neverland. This may be because he has realized that she no longer cares to serve him as
she once did. She will no longer be his mother, rather a friend. This does not please him, and
he returns once after, to steal Jean, Wendy s daughter, as a new mother. Peter Pan s
ignorance and cruel leadership is a sign that he does not care for Wendy as a person, rather
as a product or as something to aid him. Mr. Pan sees Wendy beneficial for story telling, for
being his mother, and for serving him. In Peter Pan, readers are shown the cruelty that an
innocent child can impact upon a multitude of fellow

Reaction Paper On Hydrazones
2.1. Hydrazones:
Hydrazones are a special class of organic compound in the Schiff base family. They are characterized
by the prescence of azomethine ( C=N N=C 15 min). The hydrazones obtained are tested for their
DNA cleavage properties and some of them are found to show good chemical nuclease activity in the
presence of both oxidizing agent (H2O2) and reducing agent (MPA). Some of them exhibited
hydrolytic activity and their antioxidant activity was found to be very low.
2.5. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Though aryl hydrazones of aryl aldehydes, known as Schiff bases, are well known, the study of any
hydrazones (28) of 2 chlororquinoline 3 carbaldehydes (26) is scanty. Srivastava et al, have

Selfishness In A Monster Calls By Patrick Ness
Selfishness, a quality that best shines in times of isolation, forces others to become aware of one s
need for attention. Patrick Ness portrays this trait in A Monster Calls in a way that makes the readers
realize that the burden of a secret is too great for anyone of any age to carry. Conor O Malley is
thirteen, but his experiences and hardships are ones that those who are beyond their years have not
necessarily needed to overcome. Taking into account his mother s worsening condition, he does not
want to let his surroundings affect him more than they already have. Under the influence of the
Monster, Conor allows himself to act in accordance to his situation instead of keeping everything to
himself without an outlet for his emotions. Conor s selfishness, which is seen throughout the novel,
affects his interactions with others in drawing out their flaws. To retaliate against his father, Lily and
his grandma for putting him in situations that cause him suffering, Conor must act in this selfish
manner regardless of the consequences.
Beginning with his father, Conor witnesses how a parent can be unwilling to give their all for their
children and acts selfishly in order to make him aware of this fact. He faces a reality of life at the time
of his parent s divorce; there was nothing he could do to keep them together. As a result, the bond he
has with his father is imperfect. There is a clear barrier between the two that emerges from the
distance that separates them. Even as Conor yearns for a proper parent figure in his life, he is unable to
have one and he allows himself to act selfishly towards his father because he will eventually be the
only parent Conor has left. By confessing to his father that he does not want to live with grandma
(Ness, 88) and asking his father questions about why can t [he] come and live with (Ness, 88) him,
Conor wants his father to own up to his responsibilities as a parent. Despite being aware his wishes
will not be granted, but he wants his father to realize how less he commits to caring for his son when
he needs him the most. If all his father wants to do is make promises to only break them, then he
might as well push his father to his limits and demand things from him regardless

Aristide Maillol
These aspects are not solely found in this particular Maillol work, however; they are conspicuous
across his works in bronze and lead. Dina (1937) [Figure 7] shares many aspects of the three female
figures of The Three Graces. This piece has the same soft qualities including the focus on volume
instead of definition, especially with the breasts, where the nipples are not even present, but the
volume of each breast is beautifully molded to appear full and smooth. Just as in The Three Graces,
her form is a continuous curve, a soft and fluid form. There is the same inviting and sensual nature, as
Dina reaches up to fix her hair with legs open. This erotic position, of her thighs open, her body bared

But where did this ideal come from? Aristide Maillol was born in 1861 in a pink house in Banyuls ser
Mer to a family of fisherman and vine growers. It is this home, sandwiched between the
Mediterranean Sea and the Alberes mountains, where Maillol would spend his whole life, in the old
village with its labyrinth of narrow lanes, amid the green Pyrenean foothills full of vines, trees and
mimosas, and beyond, the snowcapped summits in the distance. This is the place that would shape the
expressive qualities of the artist s sculptures, as well as form his ideal conception of woman, which
would be his primary subject. This isolated little village in the countryside was a location where a
good decent girl would never be nude or scandalous, where conservative families survived off of both
the sea and the vines. Maillol s life in the countryside is evident in his work, including The Three
Graces. He retains a rustic ingenuousness in his work, something calm, self possessed not feverish or
frantic. The sculptures are simplistic and blunt, reminiscent of the simple rhythm of the lifestyle that
surrounded Maillol in Banyuls the lifestyle of farmers and fishermen reside in a tranquil mountain
landscape. The bodies of these women do retain this simplicity, bluntness, and tranquility, reminiscent
of the landscape by which the sculptor was continuously

The book Scorched is a si fi fantasy book that has the last dragon named Emmy bond with a girl
named Trinity and she is trying to prevent the Scorch, while trying to protect each other from certain

A Day At A Beach In The Bahamas
When the sun begins to hide behind the horizon there is only one environment on the planet that
harnesses the power to leave oneself in complete and utter awe. This one of a kind place captures all
of the elements in their perfect and most striking form. The sky bolsters with eloquent colors, the
warm sand caresses your toes, and the soothing waves break with the most perfect noise as to not
break your focus on the sunset; it is just as captivating as a north poles aurora borealis. A certain
feeling drifts along through a slight breeze on this sunset beach as you observe the sunset above the
water. It is a warm and comforting feeling that most people can relate to when they experience the
affects of love for the first time; a sudden rush of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One can agree that during the day, the beach can be a noisy place: music, kids, and talkative
individuals can all make a difference in the pleasantness of your beach day. During the day in the
Bahamas it is quite loud due to the numerous tourists in the area who want to party and have a good
time, but at dusk, it stops. Little by little the beach gets less populated with clamorous people and feels
more like your own oasis. You begin to hone in on the sounds: the rave music is now more calming; it
is maybe playing reggae or something else soothing. The seagulls seem to chirp less, and you are
suddenly all alone. As you walk down the beach waiting for the sun to set you feel the softness of the
sand, and look back to see how your feet have been molded to become one with the beach. When the
sun sets and the sky radiates comforting colors, you begin to feel different: the beach resonates the
warmth of the sky through your feet, up into your heart. You look around and see the landscape of the
beach has been made lively by the colors of the sky. The rocks blush from the sky s red tint, and the
palm trees look to be slow dancing in the warming breeze. Your body is captured by good feelings and
is hypnotized by the sunset s effect on this beach. There is still one last element to the whole picture

Historical Settings Of Apocalyptic Texts
During the second temple period, Jews faced persecution at the hands of the Greeks and the Romans.
They struggled to make sense of their suffering and define the place of their religion in an increasingly
assimilated world. Jews had to define who they were and how they would interact with or separate
themselves from other cultures and traditions. One of the ways in which people did this was by
writing texts to define who they were, where they came from, and what they stood for. Jewish authors
during the second temple period used the historical settings in their writings to forward agendas,
which were often shaped by present concerns. These historical settings were sometimes fallacious and
were written not to accurately depict past events, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author further uses the destruction of Babylon to give instructions to Jews as to how they should
behave under Roman rule, warning against assimilation of Jews into Roman society. In Revelation, the
author quotes God as saying, come out of here, my people, so that you do not take part in her sins and
so that you do not share in her plagues (Revelation 18.4). The authors use the word of God in an
apocalyptic situation to caution against joining in Roman society, an empire which the authors argue is
one of sin and which will ultimately be cast down by God.
Similarly, the authors of 2 Baruch set the narrative after the Babylonian exile and destruction to
actually discuss the events surrounding the destruction of the second temple. The authors use the the
destruction of the first temple to comment on the resilience of the Jewish people, reminding
contemporary readers that the Jewish people survived the destruction of one temple and that they will
be able to survive the destruction of another one. Additionally, by setting 2 Baruch hundreds of years
in the past, authors are again able to make the argument that the destruction of the second temple was
preordained (2 Baruch 32.2 4). By arguing that the destruction of the second temple was willed by
God, contemporary readers could feel that

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Euro
The European Union is not perfect. It has its own weaknesses and faults as well. Therefore, now I
would like to write a short description about the mistakes of the monetary union. Then I put a question
to all of us if the Eurozone, and especially the Euro, need to be reformed after the last years
experiences. Finally at the end of this subsection I briefly summarize the negative effects of the crisis
on the EU as a single currency area.
First of all, there is some structural mistake which should be corrected. For instance, there were a lot
of real estate price bubbles and credit bubbles among the countries in the periphery of the Union
because of cheap credits. The Eurozone had no proper institutional background to predict the
consequences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, in connection with this topic, I would like to bring up the example of Sweden just in
very briefly. Sweden has had the opportunity to adopt the Euro since 2006 but they have not
introduced it yet. Their government supports the idea of that the main and last judgement should be
done by the population but they are waiting for the proper time for the referendum. This kind of
behaviour could be experienced in Hungary too, probably in order to profit from the process as much
as we could. Therefore, the next question is: What if this behaviour could make negative effects on
other countries, for example on Hungary, and influence them towards denying the Euro? However, we
can see on Figure 14 that most of the people in Hungary want to introduce the single currency
according to that opinion poll. Hence, it seems that temporarily we do not want to follow the way of
the northern country. In addition, recently Sweden does [also] not have a target date to adopt the euro
just like Hungary. Anyway, our government has a lot to do (e.g. implementing all the convergence
criteria) up to that time we could think about this decision whether the best solution is for

An Experiment On The Organic Effect Essay
The Organic Effect is a video that conduct an experiment on a family for two weeks. The video was
promoted by an organic food store The Coop grocery in Sweden and the Swedish Environmental
Research Institute ( Hall ). In this video a family of five switched from conventional food to organic
for two weeks. Before beginning the experiment urine samples were taken and analyzed for
conventional pesticides food. It turned out that they had different insecticides, fungicides, and plant
growth regulators inside their bodies. The experiment began and everything in the kitchen was
replaced from conventional to organic food only ( Hall ). Then Another sample of urine was taken and
almost all the pesticides disappeared; the level dropped drastically ( Hall ). At the beginning of the
video the mother explained why her family chose to eat conventional food, and it was because it s less
expensive for her big family. However, at the end of the experiment she said that she was reevaluating
her decision because of her children ( Hall ).
Kavin Senapathy wrote an article based on the video because the advertisements mislead the public,
and they didn t offer the whole story to the audience (Senapathy ). She explained that the study was
done in only one family and they just analyzed the urine for pesticide used on conventional food only
and most people didn t realize that organic agriculture uses pesticides too (Hall ). The company is

Vera Wang Advertising Analysis
Vera Wang is one of the most iconic designers in fashion today and this ad takes advantage of her
recognition. This image, most likely from a fashion magazine, promotes Vera Wang s dress line. The
advertisement uses three significant contrasts to draw the buyer in. First, the model in the actual dress
line. Second, the flourishing background the models are put in. It makes you think about what the
photographer was trying to portray. Lastly, the display case made the models are standing in and
around. The model in the front draws in the buyer, but the case is see through, allowing the viewer to
see the model standing on the back side and part of the models arm to the left. The image suggests that
someone who wears Vera Wang can have multiple styles and still feel good in whatever type of style
that is.
The greenery background gives the ad an interesting contrast. This is a nature setting, as implied by
the grass and plants. Most of this background is not very visible, as the models take up most of the
advertisement. The brightness of the plants suggest this photo was taken midday when the sun was at
its peak. It was taken with a shallow depth of field, meaning the background is blurred and the main
focus is on the objects in the front of the photo, The greenery is not very green, but fades into the
background. There are no animals in the trees in the back, maybe suggesting this was taken in a place
without a lot of wildlife, or the fact that there s no resources for these

Multiple Sclerosis Essay
Multiple Sclerosis
(1) One third of a million Americans suffer from MS and a great percentage of those people are
women. Women account for 73% of MS sufferers. (2) MS usually strikes young adults between the
ages of 20 and 40 years old. (8) There are even some cases of MS being diagnosed in childhood.
Multiple sclerosis is a disease that affects the central nervous system, attacking the brain and the
spinal cord. MS attacks myelin, the fatty material that acts as a protective coating to the body s nerves.
(1) The inflammation of the nerve tissues covering the nerves can affect any part of the nervous
system and varies from person to person. (7) Normal nerve function decreases with the onset of MS
because MS causes scars to form on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, what causes MS? What causes the nerves of the bodies of MS patients to obtain scarring?
Why do people get MS? The cause of MS is not known. But is said not to be hereditary. The body s
immune system usually defends it from bacteria, but in the case of MS the immune system is attacking
the myelin. (1) This attack is adverse to the purpose of the immune system and the cause is attributed
to different theories. The one theory is that there is a virus dormant in the body that may be a factor in
the development of MS and alters the immune system s responsibility. (1)
Then there is the theory that common diseases or STD s trigger MS and this initiates the migration of
white blood cells to enter the brain. Once in the brain these white blood cells activate certain parts of
the immune system and thus the immune system begins to attack the myelin that surrounds the nerve.
(1) There is another theory that the scarring of the myelin of the nerve is caused by oxidation injury.
(3) Oxidation injury is seemingly caused by unstable molecules named free radicals. These free
radicals supposedly take electrons from healthy molecules they find in the myelin. These free radicals
are also said to occur when the body has been exposed to toxic chemicals. (5) Free radicals are
described as punching holes in the cellular walls of our bodies. There is another theory that

Entrepreneurship Is An Integral Part Of Our Economy
Introduction:
Entrepreneurship can best be defined as a way of managing that involves pursuing opportunity,
assembling resources, implementing action plans, and harvesting rewards in a timely and flexible way
(Shalman Stevenson). Those who find passion and purpose in the management, and conceptual
thinking of entrepreneurship are known as entrepreneurs. This type of management involving
entrepreneurs has become an integral part of our economy in the United States, and globally since the
beginning of the modern era, impacting billions of people in its wake through many different social
and political facets. As entrepreneurs set out on these ventures in growing small businesses that have
changed so much about the world, there are always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This then, would suggest that the success of the business or venture started from the root, which is, of
course, the entrepreneur who has been successful. Entrepreneurs start as managers who must make the
leap from comfortableness to taking major risks with a potential for growth and success, but also
downfall and failure. Although there are many different types of personalities that an entrepreneur can
possess there are two main elements of thinking that a manager must have to be an entrepreneur.
These are that the manager must have a self perceived power and ability to realize goals internally,
and also have an external desire to find a future state that is characterized by growth and change
(Shalman Stevenson.) These are two foundational characteristics that an entrepreneur must have, but
having these two does not correlate to success simply on their own.
Why History Matters: In order to understand the impacts of entrepreneurial businesses globally, the
history itself and historical concepts behind it must also be understood. After all, most of the concepts
used by entrepreneurs and professional management today have been influenced by previous
experiences and historical perspectives. As an example of this, modern entrepreneurs often ask
investors for startup capital, and this has always been this way. In the thirteenth century, Marco Polo,
the famous explorer, wanted to trade with Asia, but wasn t sure how to get the materials he wanted to
trade there, so

European Exploration Benefits
In my opinion, the benefits of the European exploration did not outweigh its consequences. One
reason why the benefits did not outweigh the consequences is the Native American population.
Another reason the benefits did not outweigh is because of the Columbian Exchange. Columbus also
did not stand up to his promises. Those are some of the reasons why the benefits did not outweigh the
consequences. The first reason why the benefits did not outweigh the consequences is the Native
American population. The population decreased starting from 1500 1650. The population decreased
because the European people killed them with smallpox. The population of the Native Americans
helped the benefits not outweigh from its consequences. Another

The economic boom of the Roaring Twenties was given to a causation of several factors. The most
likely of which was the increases in disposable income that the average American had, due in no small
part to unionization of the early 1900 s and later. Perhaps a direct correlation was as well the
standardization of the workday to only eight hours, as this lead to more free time, and with more
money and more free time, people had money to spend to amuse themselves. The other technological
advance which ties very well into this is the advent of the mass assembly processes of the assembly
line. This gave an unprecedented ability to cheaply produces large quantities of consumer goods
quickly. This gave rise to many bored people with a large amount of disposable income, with a
smorgasbord of goods/services on which to spend this money, in a pursuit of happiness or an effort to
be entertained. This in turn gave rise to more manufacturing jobs/service jobs which in turn would
give more money into the system. Technological inventions also shaped and changed the way
Americans did things. The automobile was the largest effect on this, as it was for the automobile that
brought about mass production, and in this effort, a new support industry was born, that of oil refining,
rubber for the tires, glass for the windows, and steel for the bodies. All of these industries expanded
along with the increase in the amount of automobiles that exploded upon the scene. Cars are no good
without roads to travel on, so more roads needed to be built and with this new infrastructure, support
and maintenance was needed as well, this led to more jobs that hadn t existed before, which again, led
to more money flowing into the system, money that needed to be spent. The airplane, whereas it had
been around for nearly 17 years or so at that point, the technology had not been matured enough to
offer any real benefit to the common man, as air travel was prohibitively expensive, not to mention
dangerous. Air travel didn t completely take off at this point, but it had its foot in the door. The same
manufacturing process pioneered by Henry Ford were adopted by airplane companies, and as more
airplanes became available, competition among early airlines

Introducing Lean Concepts in a Manufacturing Company
Your organization, a company that manufactures automobile brake pads, is about to introduce lean
concepts into its operations in order to be more competitive with foreign manufacturers. The lean
project manager does not understand why you, the safety manager, want to be a part of the process.
Provide a convincing argument about what you can contribute if you are included. Lean
manufacturing is based upon the philosophy that zero waste is a legitimate goal for an organization.
Lean manufacturing is based on finding efficiencies and removing wasteful steps that don t add value
to the end product (Lean manufacturing, 2012, Mind Tools). Defects are bad for customers in the
sense that customers receive an unwanted, defective product but also bad for businesses that must eat
the cost of the defective product, as well as suffer a blow to their reputations. This is particularly true
for a safety related item such as a brake pad. Waste in terms of unneeded expenditures will make the
product more expensive, taking away value from the company in terms of profits and also making
consumers less likely to buy a costly item. Waste can occur in a number of areas, including
overproduction; delays; inventory buildups; over processing; inefficiencies in the human aspects of in
manufacturing; product defects; and inefficient allocations of labor (Lean manufacturing, 2012, Mind
Tools). A sales manager such as myself can play a critical role in identifying waste. First and foremost,

The Economics of Baseball Essay
The Economics of Baseball The economics of baseball has grown since the beginning and has become
more complicated every year. Baseball players are now making millions of dollars to do something
that they love and enjoy. It s not their fault the money they can receive has reached the million mark,
even for some of the less talent of ball players. This has happened to all sports, but especially to the
American pastime. Baseball is more of a business than just a game and many things have made it this
way. A lot of reasons have contributed to the rising salaries there is today and it will not stop there.
The amount of baseball contracts will keep rising each year. One of the most notable people to receive

Many people believed he was crazy to spend this much money on one player, but Tom Schieffer stated
that Hicks has a good understanding of the economics of sports (Rangers). Alex Rodriguez is just one
example of this growing business and many other ball players are getting paid an unreasonable
amount. Most teams to take care of this have raised ticket prices. Two thirds of the thirty teams in
MLB have raised the cost of a ticket for the 2001 season. Baseball tickets are the cheapest among
professional sports, but they re catching up(MLB). The average ticket in 2000 was 16.65 dollars,
according to Team Marketing Report(MLB). Now, it costs a fan twenty dollars for a bleacher seat at
Wrigley Field , 31 dollars to watch the Yankees from the cheap seats, and forty to sit in the
grandstands at Fenway Park(MLB). The rise in ticket prices has contributed to the rise in the cost to
have a baseball player play for your team. Many teams are coming up with other ways to be able to
pay these high priced athletes without leaving out the normal fan. Several teams have increased
premium seating and are offering special packages for people and corporate entertainers, who have
money to spend. For example, the L.A. Dodgers have not raised ticket prices but offer a Dugout Club
seat behind home plate for 225 dollars(MLB). More

Porsche s mission, vision and its reputation are clouded after the take over of VW group. VW group
oversaw the take over of other famous brands like, Bentley, Buggati and Lamborghini. Under the new
leadership and direction from the top brass, the first move was to restructure Porsche. The
restructuring saw Porsche s top executives sent to other car brands in VW group to share expertise and
Porsche s success. Replacing them are executives from other car brands, like Matthias Muller from
Audi whose main aim was to integrate Porsche into VW family, extend its product line and increase

i. Potential Entrants
The potential threat of new entrants is low as it costs high when it comes to producing a high
performance car. The barriers to entry present a low threat to Porsche when it comes to a brand that
could immediately match and threatens Porsche s current brand and market share. The lack of research
and development, the technology that was hone throughout the years for Porsche and the Brand

brand to come into the market and have such an impact.

The Financial Market Analysis On Fiscal And Fiscal Sector
Introduction Over the past couple years, the United States government has learned from its mistakes
and loopholes within the mortgage market. Changes within the Fiscal or regulation of government
taxes imposed on citizens, and use of quantitative easing, a macro policy, of buying and selling bonds
in open market to inject money in the economy has helped jump start the economy. The cost of the
economies revival was at the expense of banks giving out mortgage loans to individuals with poor
credit. With the help of deregulation and historical trends of the housing prices, financial analysts felt
no harm in giving loans to individuals as long as house prices were rising, the default risk would be

health measures. Currently, the United States is facing a major challenge in controlling the cost of

With the guarantee of payment the first provider health care program was born. It was called Blue
Shield. Blue Shield s role was to negotiate with doctors and hospitals for reduced prices in exchange
for a high volume of customers and guaranteed payment. To make up for the loss of revenue, doctors
and hospitals raised their prices for patients who did not have group health insurance (1). A lot
companies during the 19040s and 50s were able to offer their employees health care benefits, but for
some this was not an option. Many of Americans and small businesses during this time period could
not afford group health insurance. This meant that the government had to come up with new programs
to provide coverage for the uninsured people.
Improvements to Health Insurance
There was hope and a need for an insurance that would benefit the disabled, elderly and unemployed
American people. The Medicare and Medicaid act of 1965 did just that and provided health insurance

Using the principles of development learned in this course the authoritarian parent and the uninvolved
parent could both make significant changes in order to promote better individual development and
growth. A child may develop an aggressive behavior with an authoritarian parent and their
externalizing and internalizing problems stem from this type of parenting style. (Braza, P. 2015) The
authoritarian parent expects their child to be absolutely obedient and this often times leads to the child
having a higher than normal likely of getting in trouble. These kinds of parents keep control of their
children s behaviors as much as possible and create firm rules so the child knows the consequences of
breaking the rules. Authoritarian parents develop similar patterns of parenting within the other sources
of child bearing. Authoritarian parents often times score higher due to children searching for
independence in the developmental process which increases conflicts. (Luyckx, K. 2011) Often time s
children from these authoritarian families can be less resourceful and have a lower self esteem.
Authoritarian parents create a solid behavior process for their children but often create the idea that a
child must lie to do what he or she wants to do. A parent in this aspect can be so focused on their child

The police roles in today s society are to try to maintain the order as well as to control to keep the

police departments are facing from today s society are corruption, as well as danger on the job, and
most of all the use of deadly force. For the police when things start to happen and the police needs to

Another issue of racial and biased profiling is also a popular problem for law enforcement today. The
important thing for officers is to maintain a balance of justice and treat all citizens equally. Of course
this become an issue plenty of times when crimes start and the scapegoat of such crime was a member
of a small group, or vice, and the suspect is part of the small group. Assuming the victim were African
American in a predominantly White community, the example is, the police just might find themselves

especially knowing about the 911 attacks (September 11, 2001). Today, police officers have to proceed
with caution in respect to religion, and make additional efforts to display they are not attacking
specific religious beliefs.
Now civil liability has become a consequential issue for police departments and their officers. Believe

In all of my reading, I have come to the conclusion that Anthony Burgess is one of the greatest literary
genius s of the twentieth century. His masterpiece, A Clockwork Orange, is unrivaled in obvious
depth, insight, and innovation. The novel is a work of such quality, such perfection, that it seems to be
genuinely written by a literary demigod.
The novel s main theme deals with free choice and spiritual freedom. More specifically, [The ethical
promise that A man who cannot choose ceases to be man ] can be taken as both the explicit and
implicit themes of the novel (Morgan 104). Anthony Burgess expresses his view that no matter how

Alex is a representative of the common man. Burgess attack on behaviorists and on totalitarian states

Joshua 1:9
The purpose of this paper is to tell you what I think is the meaning of this bible verse/passage. Most
people miss interpret Joshua 1:9 because they think it is a literal thing. That is a legit literal thing. That
even if we walk into a bar he will be there with us. Which I don t personally believe is the case.
If we check with history, most of the book of Joshua was written by Joshua himself, after the four
hundred years of the Israelites living in Egypt, and after the forty years of the Israelites living in the
desert.
When looking through five specific versions of the bible, you will find that the phrase the Lord your
God (New Living Translation, Josh. 1.9) is said in every one of the versions. When you research some
more you find out that the phrase the Lord your God (New Living Translation, Josh 1.9) is also the
opening line of the Ten Commandments. The name for God used in the opening of the Ten
Commandments is YHWH Elohim, which means god.
The introduction of the Ten Commandments sets forward the identity of God. The pattern and

Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (New Living
Translation, Josh. 1.9) the promise of God always being with us is also something that can be

  • 2. An Example Of A Personal Narrative (Essay) Janelly Jimenez LSAC #L33002690 Narration (Description of what is being seen and experienced) Unable to open my eyes, waking up trying to identify where I was, pedestrians stared, pointed and yelled Oh! My god. Call 911 . Cars drove by. The sirens were heard but not spotted. What Happened? Where was I? I wept as if the entire world, and all of its beauty, had come to an end. And in a way, it had. On the night of April 7,1997 my thin body flew from the backseat passenger side of a Nissan Sentra crashing through the front passenger window onto the roadway of Old Town, Staten Island. I woke up on a hospital stretcher perplexed, unaware of what had just occurred. I had partial vision. My eyes were filled with shattered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally I arrived home after two long weeks. I attempted to return to normalcy without my nurses at my bedside. But I couldn t. At the age of 7, I was confronted with the biggest decision I would ever make in life. I had to determine if I would adapt to this physical change or let it plague me for the rest of my life. But how and where would I begin? My life had changed direction at such a young age; literally. I had to learn how to function using my left hand opposed to my right. I worked on my penmanship day and night it was quite frustrating. My occupational therapists helped me with writing exercises. I slowly adapted to my new lifestyle. I bathed and fed myself. One of my biggest challenges was learning to tie my shoe. I could have used curly shoe string but I wasn t too fond of that idea. I wanted to learn how to tie them myself instead of asking someone. I decided to use the tools I had available to me in this case it was the rest of my body. With the help of my jaw and left arm I was able to tie my shoelaces. I wasn t able to tie them standing but I lifted my legs while I sat toward my face and I was able to successfully tie my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Peter Pan Motherhood The novel Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie illustrates how Peter Pan, an aggressive adolescent, attempts the abduction of younger male children in order to bring them to his magical island called Neverland. These young males then serve him and serve on expeditions and as soldiers in a youthful gang. In an unusual phenomenon, Mr. Pan brings Wendy, a young female, to his island in order that she might tell him and his lost boys about the tale of Cinderella and to be their mother. You could tuck us in at night, [said he] And you could darn our clothes and make pockets for us. None of us has any pockets. (42). Peter emphasis that the boys need a mother to work for them. • 7. Selfishness In A Monster Calls By Patrick Ness Selfishness, a quality that best shines in times of isolation, forces others to become aware of one s need for attention. Patrick Ness portrays this trait in A Monster Calls in a way that makes the readers realize that the burden of a secret is too great for anyone of any age to carry. Conor O Malley is thirteen, but his experiences and hardships are ones that those who are beyond their years have not necessarily needed to overcome. Taking into account his mother s worsening condition, he does not want to let his surroundings affect him more than they already have. Under the influence of the Monster, Conor allows himself to act in accordance to his situation instead of keeping everything to himself without an outlet for his emotions. Conor s selfishness, which is seen throughout the novel, affects his interactions with others in drawing out their flaws. To retaliate against his father, Lily and his grandma for putting him in situations that cause him suffering, Conor must act in this selfish manner regardless of the consequences. Beginning with his father, Conor witnesses how a parent can be unwilling to give their all for their children and acts selfishly in order to make him aware of this fact. He faces a reality of life at the time of his parent s divorce; there was nothing he could do to keep them together. As a result, the bond he has with his father is imperfect. There is a clear barrier between the two that emerges from the distance that separates them. Even as Conor yearns for a proper parent figure in his life, he is unable to have one and he allows himself to act selfishly towards his father because he will eventually be the only parent Conor has left. By confessing to his father that he does not want to live with grandma (Ness, 88) and asking his father questions about why can t [he] come and live with (Ness, 88) him, Conor wants his father to own up to his responsibilities as a parent. Despite being aware his wishes will not be granted, but he wants his father to realize how less he commits to caring for his son when he needs him the most. If all his father wants to do is make promises to only break them, then he might as well push his father to his limits and demand things from him regardless ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Aristide Maillol These aspects are not solely found in this particular Maillol work, however; they are conspicuous across his works in bronze and lead. Dina (1937) [Figure 7] shares many aspects of the three female figures of The Three Graces. This piece has the same soft qualities including the focus on volume instead of definition, especially with the breasts, where the nipples are not even present, but the volume of each breast is beautifully molded to appear full and smooth. Just as in The Three Graces, her form is a continuous curve, a soft and fluid form. There is the same inviting and sensual nature, as Dina reaches up to fix her hair with legs open. Aristide Maillol was born in 1861 in a pink house in Banyuls ser Mer to a family of fisherman and vine growers. It is this home, sandwiched between the Mediterranean Sea and the Alberes mountains, where Maillol would spend his whole life, in the old village with its labyrinth of narrow lanes, amid the green Pyrenean foothills full of vines, trees and mimosas, and beyond, the snowcapped summits in the distance. This is the place that would shape the expressive qualities of the artist s sculptures, as well as form his ideal conception of woman, which would be his primary subject. This isolated little village in the countryside was a location where a good decent girl would never be nude or scandalous, where conservative families survived off of both the sea and the vines. Maillol s life in the countryside is evident in his work, including The Three Graces. He retains a rustic ingenuousness in his work, something calm, self possessed not feverish or frantic. The sculptures are simplistic and blunt, reminiscent of the simple rhythm of the lifestyle that surrounded Maillol in Banyuls the lifestyle of farmers and fishermen reside in a tranquil mountain landscape. During the day in the Bahamas it is quite loud due to the numerous tourists in the area who want to party and have a good time, but at dusk, it stops. Little by little the beach gets less populated with clamorous people and feels more like your own oasis. You begin to hone in on the sounds: the rave music is now more calming; it is maybe playing reggae or something else soothing. The seagulls seem to chirp less, and you are suddenly all alone. As you walk down the beach waiting for the sun to set you feel the softness of the sand, and look back to see how your feet have been molded to become one with the beach. When the sun sets and the sky radiates comforting colors, you begin to feel different: the beach resonates the warmth of the sky through your feet, up into your heart. You look around and see the landscape of the beach has been made lively by the colors of the sky. They struggled to make sense of their suffering and define the place of their religion in an increasingly assimilated world. Jews had to define who they were and how they would interact with or separate themselves from other cultures and traditions. One of the ways in which people did this was by writing texts to define who they were, where they came from, and what they stood for. Jewish authors during the second temple period used the historical settings in their writings to forward agendas, which were often shaped by present concerns. These historical settings were sometimes fallacious and were written not to accurately depict past events, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author further uses the destruction of Babylon to give instructions to Jews as to how they should behave under Roman rule, warning against assimilation of Jews into Roman society. In Revelation, the author quotes God as saying, come out of here, my people, so that you do not take part in her sins and so that you do not share in her plagues (Revelation 18.4). The authors use the word of God in an apocalyptic situation to caution against joining in Roman society, an empire which the authors argue is one of sin and which will ultimately be cast down by God. Similarly, the authors of 2 Baruch set the narrative after the Babylonian exile and destruction to actually discuss the events surrounding the destruction of the second temple. The authors use the the destruction of the first temple to comment on the resilience of the Jewish people, reminding contemporary readers that the Jewish people survived the destruction of one temple and that they will be able to survive the destruction of another one. Additionally, by setting 2 Baruch hundreds of years in the past, authors are again able to make the argument that the destruction of the second temple was preordained (2 Baruch 32.2 4). Therefore, now I would like to write a short description about the mistakes of the monetary union. Then I put a question to all of us if the Eurozone, and especially the Euro, need to be reformed after the last years experiences. Finally at the end of this subsection I briefly summarize the negative effects of the crisis on the EU as a single currency area. First of all, there is some structural mistake which should be corrected. For instance, there were a lot of real estate price bubbles and credit bubbles among the countries in the periphery of the Union because of cheap credits. The Eurozone had no proper institutional background to predict the consequences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, in connection with this topic, I would like to bring up the example of Sweden just in very briefly. Sweden has had the opportunity to adopt the Euro since 2006 but they have not introduced it yet. Their government supports the idea of that the main and last judgement should be done by the population but they are waiting for the proper time for the referendum. This kind of behaviour could be experienced in Hungary too, probably in order to profit from the process as much as we could. Therefore, the next question is: What if this behaviour could make negative effects on other countries, for example on Hungary, and influence them towards denying the Euro? However, we can see on Figure 14 that most of the people in Hungary want to introduce the single currency according to that opinion poll. Hence, it seems that temporarily we do not want to follow the way of the northern country. In addition, recently Sweden does [also] not have a target date to adopt the euro just like Hungary. This image, most likely from a fashion magazine, promotes Vera Wang s dress line. The advertisement uses three significant contrasts to draw the buyer in. First, the model in the actual dress line. Second, the flourishing background the models are put in. It makes you think about what the photographer was trying to portray. Lastly, the display case made the models are standing in and around. The model in the front draws in the buyer, but the case is see through, allowing the viewer to see the model standing on the back side and part of the models arm to the left. The image suggests that someone who wears Vera Wang can have multiple styles and still feel good in whatever type of style that is. The greenery background gives the ad an interesting contrast. This is a nature setting, as implied by the grass and plants. Most of this background is not very visible, as the models take up most of the advertisement. The brightness of the plants suggest this photo was taken midday when the sun was at its peak. It was taken with a shallow depth of field, meaning the background is blurred and the main focus is on the objects in the front of the photo, The greenery is not very green, but fades into the background. What causes the nerves of the bodies of MS patients to obtain scarring? Why do people get MS? The cause of MS is not known. But is said not to be hereditary. The body s immune system usually defends it from bacteria, but in the case of MS the immune system is attacking the myelin. (1) This attack is adverse to the purpose of the immune system and the cause is attributed to different theories. The one theory is that there is a virus dormant in the body that may be a factor in the development of MS and alters the immune system s responsibility. (1) Then there is the theory that common diseases or STD s trigger MS and this initiates the migration of white blood cells to enter the brain. Once in the brain these white blood cells activate certain parts of the immune system and thus the immune system begins to attack the myelin that surrounds the nerve. (1) There is another theory that the scarring of the myelin of the nerve is caused by oxidation injury. (3) Oxidation injury is seemingly caused by unstable molecules named free radicals. These free radicals supposedly take electrons from healthy molecules they find in the myelin. These free radicals are also said to occur when the body has been exposed to toxic chemicals. Entrepreneurship Is An Integral Part Of Our Economy Introduction: Entrepreneurship can best be defined as a way of managing that involves pursuing opportunity, assembling resources, implementing action plans, and harvesting rewards in a timely and flexible way (Shalman Stevenson). Those who find passion and purpose in the management, and conceptual thinking of entrepreneurship are known as entrepreneurs. This type of management involving entrepreneurs has become an integral part of our economy in the United States, and globally since the beginning of the modern era, impacting billions of people in its wake through many different social and political facets. This then, would suggest that the success of the business or venture started from the root, which is, of course, the entrepreneur who has been successful. Entrepreneurs start as managers who must make the leap from comfortableness to taking major risks with a potential for growth and success, but also downfall and failure. Although there are many different types of personalities that an entrepreneur can possess there are two main elements of thinking that a manager must have to be an entrepreneur. These are that the manager must have a self perceived power and ability to realize goals internally, and also have an external desire to find a future state that is characterized by growth and change (Shalman Stevenson.) These are two foundational characteristics that an entrepreneur must have, but having these two does not correlate to success simply on their own. Why History Matters: In order to understand the impacts of entrepreneurial businesses globally, the history itself and historical concepts behind it must also be understood. After all, most of the concepts used by entrepreneurs and professional management today have been influenced by previous experiences and historical perspectives. As an example of this, modern entrepreneurs often ask investors for startup capital, and this has always been this way. • 20. What Was The Economic Boom Of The Roaring Boom The economic boom of the Roaring Twenties was given to a causation of several factors. The most likely of which was the increases in disposable income that the average American had, due in no small part to unionization of the early 1900 s and later. Perhaps a direct correlation was as well the standardization of the workday to only eight hours, as this lead to more free time, and with more money and more free time, people had money to spend to amuse themselves. The other technological advance which ties very well into this is the advent of the mass assembly processes of the assembly line. This gave an unprecedented ability to cheaply produces large quantities of consumer goods quickly. This gave rise to many bored people with a large amount of disposable income, with a smorgasbord of goods/services on which to spend this money, in a pursuit of happiness or an effort to be entertained. This in turn gave rise to more manufacturing jobs/service jobs which in turn would give more money into the system. Technological inventions also shaped and changed the way Americans did things. The automobile was the largest effect on this, as it was for the automobile that brought about mass production, and in this effort, a new support industry was born, that of oil refining, rubber for the tires, glass for the windows, and steel for the bodies. All of these industries expanded along with the increase in the amount of automobiles that exploded upon the scene. Cars are no good without roads to travel on, so more roads needed to be built and with this new infrastructure, support and maintenance was needed as well, this led to more jobs that hadn t existed before, which again, led to more money flowing into the system, money that needed to be spent. The airplane, whereas it had been around for nearly 17 years or so at that point, the technology had not been matured enough to offer any real benefit to the common man, as air travel was prohibitively expensive, not to mention dangerous. Introducing Lean Concepts in a Manufacturing Company Your organization, a company that manufactures automobile brake pads, is about to introduce lean concepts into its operations in order to be more competitive with foreign manufacturers. The lean project manager does not understand why you, the safety manager, want to be a part of the process. Provide a convincing argument about what you can contribute if you are included. Lean manufacturing is based upon the philosophy that zero waste is a legitimate goal for an organization. Lean manufacturing is based on finding efficiencies and removing wasteful steps that don t add value to the end product (Lean manufacturing, 2012, Mind Tools). Defects are bad for customers in the sense that customers receive an unwanted, defective product but also bad for businesses that must eat the cost of the defective product, as well as suffer a blow to their reputations. This is particularly true for a safety related item such as a brake pad. Waste in terms of unneeded expenditures will make the product more expensive, taking away value from the company in terms of profits and also making consumers less likely to buy a costly item. Waste can occur in a number of areas, including overproduction; delays; inventory buildups; over processing; inefficiencies in the human aspects of in manufacturing; product defects; and inefficient allocations of labor (Lean manufacturing, 2012, Mind Tools). The Financial Market Analysis On Fiscal And Fiscal Sector Introduction Over the past couple years, the United States government has learned from its mistakes and loopholes within the mortgage market. Changes within the Fiscal or regulation of government taxes imposed on citizens, and use of quantitative easing, a macro policy, of buying and selling bonds in open market to inject money in the economy has helped jump start the economy. A child may develop an aggressive behavior with an authoritarian parent and their externalizing and internalizing problems stem from this type of parenting style. (Braza, P. 2015) The authoritarian parent expects their child to be absolutely obedient and this often times leads to the child having a higher than normal likely of getting in trouble. These kinds of parents keep control of their children s behaviors as much as possible and create firm rules so the child knows the consequences of breaking the rules. Authoritarian parents develop similar patterns of parenting within the other sources of child bearing. Authoritarian parents often times score higher due to children searching for independence in the developmental process which increases conflicts. Most people miss interpret Joshua 1:9 because they think it is a literal thing. That is a legit literal thing. That even if we walk into a bar he will be there with us. Which I don t personally believe is the case. If we check with history, most of the book of Joshua was written by Joshua himself, after the four hundred years of the Israelites living in Egypt, and after the forty years of the Israelites living in the desert. When you research some more you find out that the phrase the Lord your God (New Living Translation, Josh 1.9) is also the opening line of the Ten Commandments.
