Speech About My Mother
My mother, Mrs. Naomi Jackson Rhodman a Christian, wife, mother, and social activist. When I think
about my momma, some of her favorite things come to mind, her favorite color, blue, her favorite
food, vegetables, and favorite dessert, cake. Mahalia Jackson, her favorite Gospel singer and favorite
gospel songs: Oh How I Love Jesus and Precious Lord . My momma, oh boy, could she SING!
Singing Precious Lord would bring tears to my eyes. My mother s voice had great versatility, momma
could sing soprano, tenor, and alto most singers can only sing in one voice. Whatever the melody
needed, she could sing it, the music of the choir was sweeter because momma was singing. The extra
time in her schedule went to the church, serving as the church treasurer and as a member of the Board
of Trustees. Momma and daddy (George Rhodman) were very active in our church, Standfield, and
our community. Love of the Lord, family, and all people, my parents exemplified that unconditional
love. In fact, momma designed our church edifice and daddy built it with their own resources. Serving
the church with dedication, professionalism, and their service blessed all. Health challenges curtailed
my parent s participation in church events, but their faithful service for all those years continues to
bless us. The success that I have realized in my life and the ministry can be tied to my parent s
dedication and faithfulness. Through forty years of marriage, child rearing, and

Streak Plate Isolation for Obtaining Pure Culture
1. When an agar plate is inoculated, why is the loop sterilized after the initial inoculation in put on?
Ans: We use agar plate to inoculate microbes by zipping the loop on the agar several times. We streak
on the agar plate four time, propose is to isolate the unknown bacteria. Therefore, the first time to
streak on the plate, there are million of bacteria on the loop. For that reason, we need to sterilize the
loop before next streaking. Then we can get small group of colonies out from the large group of
colonies to observe and distinguish the unknown bacteria.

6. Why is necessary to isolate individual colonies from a mixed growth?
Ans: Every individual colony in a mixed growth might present different bacteria. We isolate them to
help us effectively to determine on their differences.
7. Why was blood agar, rather than a nutrient agar plate used for the culture from your mouth?
Ans: Because in a blood agar contains more nutrient than a nutrient agar. In our mouth it could have
more different species bacteria that blood agar will be a great place for them to grow.
8. Are a large number of microorganisms found in the mouth a cause for concern? Explain.
Ans: In my opinion, it might not necessary to worry about microorganisms in our mouth. There are
some of them are harmless bacteria, and keep balance in our mouth. Therefore, depending on the
species we may take more concern.
9. How do microorganisms find their way into the mouth?
Ans: there are a lot of ways microbe can go inside our mouth, such as eating food, drinking water,
putting fingers on mouth. All of them could covered with microorganisms to pass through to our
mouth.

What Is Krishna The God Of Hinduism
Krishna the God of Hinduism Krishna was one of the principal gods of Hinduism. He was the god that
the Hindu people looked up to in order to achieve their goals. Krishna was a loyal, moral, and faithful
person. Deeply, Krishna was admired by his devotees for his righteous mind and his ethical model of
behavior. How do people believe Krishna was a reincarnation of Vishnu, the god of preserver, and
protector, the second god of the trinity? What special thing about Krishna compare to other
reincarnation of Vishnu. Krishna was the hope of deliverance and hopeless people.
Firstly, Krishna was born in jail where his mom Devaki and his dad Vasudeva was put into jail by king
Kamsa for the fear of being destroyed or killed by the eighth child of Devaki. He is worshiped as the
eighth avatar of the god Vishnu. Every sibling of Krishna was killed by Kamsa, but Krishna survived
from being killed. He was the reincarnation of Vishnu, Vishnu appeared before Devaki and Vasudeva
and told them he would return to earth by being born as their child and will rescue them.
The rightful king of Mathura Ugrasen had been deposed by Kamsa. After Krishna was born the father
found himself freed from prison and fled to a safe house. Krishna removed any obstacles that appeared
before them on the way to the safe house. His foster parents Nanda and Yasoda took care of Khrishna
and loved him like he s their real son. Krishna was exchanged with a girl in a family of cowherds, then

Descriptive Essay On Fashion Shows
My cousin, Eshna was taking me to a fashion show being held in Kolkata. I ve never been to one
before. In fact, I had no idea of what exactly it was that they showed in fashion shows. In dog shows,
they showed dogs; in baby shows they showed babies. I knew what dogs were, and what babies were,
so that was all right. But I hadn t a clue what fashion was, and was looking forward to finding out.
All I knew about fashion shows was that they involved people called models. The models walked up
and down something called a catwalk. No one seemed to know why a catwalk should be called a
catwalk. Why not a dogwalk, for instance? Well, the answer to that seemed simple. If they called the
catwalk a dogwalk then people might think that what they d come to see was a dog show, instead of a
fashion show and be on the lookout for a French poodle a la Rohit Bal. On the other hand, no one s
ever heard of a cat show, so if you call the catwalk in a fashion show a catwalk you d be alright, and
no one would expect to see Garfield strutting his stuff courtesy Ritu Beri. Just to further confuse
matters, however, the catwalk is also known as a ramp. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What precisely was the damn thing? I had a feeling that fashion had something to do with clothes. But
to equate mere clothes with fashion was like confusing daal bhaat with haute cuisine. Clothes were
something that you wore; fashion was something that wore you. Maybe fashion had to do with Page 3.
I knew what Page 3 was. It was the page that came after Page 2, which in turn came after Page 1.
These things aren t too difficult to work out, if you take a deep breath and don t panic. But knowing
that Page 3 came after Page 2 was like knowing about catwalks also known as ramps and models; all
this still didn t tell me what fashion was. And I was all agog to find

Managing human emotions plays a critical role in everyday functioning. After years of lively debate
on the significance and validity of its construct, emotional intelligence (EI) has generated a robust
body of theories, research studies, and measures (Stough, Saklofske, amp; Parker). There has been
work and many ideas by Jack Mayer, Peter Salovey, David Caruso, Daniel Goleman, and Steve Hein
to name a few. All researchers have different interpretations of the term emotional intelligence and
different visions of what emotional intelligence can mean for humanity (Hein, 2005). In 1985 Wayne
Leon Payne, then a graduate student at an alternative liberal arts college in the USA, wrote a doctoral
dissertation which included the term emotional intelligence in the title. This seems to be the first
academic use of the term emotional intelligence. In the next five years no one else seems to have used
the term emotional intelligence in any academic paper. Then in 1990 the work of two American
university professors, John Mayer and Peter Salovey, was published in two academic journal articles.
Mayer and Salovey were trying to develop a way of scientifically measuring the difference between
people s ability in the area of emotions. They found that some people were better than others at things
like identifying their own feelings, identifying the feelings of others, and solving problems involving
emotional issues. Since 1990 these professors

African Art, Religion And Rituals
Even though historians still struggle today to identify the true meaning of some African art; art,
religion and rituals relate in many ways because religion and rituals have been part of Africans
everyday life for centuries and art has been used as a communication path for religion and ritual
histories for future African generations.
From the earliest in time, Africans have used religion and rituals for many things. Many African tribes
or civilizations share many common core beliefs. The farmers used ceremonies to pray and dance for
rain, so crops would grow. Family members prayed for health and rituals to heal the sick as well as
funeral ceremonies to pray for safe passage to the afterlife. Nevertheless, scholars have suggested that

Use Of Anthropomorphism In Greek Mythology
I. Biography Greek mythology had an extensive use of anthropomorphism (anthro.) and mythical
creatures that were considered symbolic. Such as the three headed dog, who has been believed to be
the guardian of the realm of death, or hades, Cerberus. It was said that he would prevent those who
crossed The River of Death (Styx). The River of Death or Styx was supposed to be the boundary
between Earth and the Underworld; it was so long that the Underworld was encircled nine times.
Cerberus parents were half women half serpent, Echidna, and the fire breathing giant, Typhoon. He
had a two headed hell hound brother, Orthrus, and was said to be the siblings of the Nemean Lion,
Lernaean Hydra, and the Chimaera. Cerberus was born in an egg located in

However, Robert Bruce XVI, XVII, and Scottish Nobles want to settle the war diplomatically for
personnel benefits and later betray Wallace. This betrayal leads to Wallace s capture where he is
tortured and publically executed. Prior to his execution, Wallace departs the world with one last word
FREEDOM ! This word single word coupled with Wallace s inspiration and passion reunites the
Scottish Nobles, Robert Bruce XVII, and the Scottish clans to take up arms as a united front against
the English to, later, gain their independence in 1314.
Why Braveheart?
Braveheart and the character William Wallace explain how courage, passion, and inspiration can
motivate people to unite against a common threat even when the odds of success are low. Additionally,
the story of William Wallace illustrates how leadership traits can have a long lasting effect. William
Wallace stays true to his beliefs with such dedication that even under the pressure of torture; he is
capable of motivating his fellow Scotsmen to fight for freedom after his death. This is true leadership!
Anyone that can inspire a following after death has reached the highest tier of leadership. This is the
epitome of a leader. Now this essay will transition to the background of a different type of leader,
Ahmad ibn Fadlan from the motion picture, The 13th Warrior.

Finding The Right Person For A Specific Job
Finding the right person for a specific job can be a difficult task and there are many components that
management would need to determine before hiring an individual. Even though an individual
interviews well and has the qualifications for the job, they may not be a great fit for the job or the
organization. If an employee is hired with that criteria, then it could really affect the profitability of
the company and generate a lot of dissatisfied employees and customers. The ability to put the right
people in the right place, at the right time, is crucial to the success of any exceptional company (Alter,
2015, p. 43) Therefore, the hiring process needs to be taken slowly and the potential employee needs
to be evaluated very carefully to avoid the consequences of the employee not fitting into their job role
or more importantly not being the right fit for the organization. However, we know that sometimes
this situation is inevitable, so how what are the consequences of hiring individuals that do not fit their
job description or that are not the right fit for the organization? Person job fit is described as a fit
between the abilities of a person and the demands of the job, or between the desires of a person and
the attributes of a job (Yi Chang, Chien, Chin Chey, 2014, p. 1539). This analysis gives insight into
how well a person is adapting and succeeding at his/ her job role within an organization. If an
employee is considered a poor fit for the job, it would

Why the Spanish Armada Invaded Britain and Lost Essay
Spanish Armada Essay
In this essay I am going to look at why the Spanish armada wanted to invade Britain and why they
failed to do so, was it down to luck or were the British too smart for the Spanish. And was it all
England s glory?
The Spanish wanted to invade England was mainly to turn England back into a catholic country, and
to get Queen Elizabeth of the throne and to get a queen who was for the catholic monarch on the
throne. However there are many other reasons: Firstly Philip II couldn?t accept that was not the king
of England, as he was married to Queen Mary I, who was the Queen before Elizabeth. Secondly, when
Philip proposed to Elizabeth she turned him down. Another reason is Elizabeth wouldn?t stop the
privateers from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, before Philip sent the ships out Admiral Sanata Cruz, Spain?s best sailor, died and Philip
replaced him with the Duke of Medina Sidonia, who suffered from seasickness and did not really want
to do the job. Was this a good idea? And should the Spanish of waited to find a new leader who
wanted to do the job?
During the sail up to England the Armada were told to keep a crescent formation no matter what
happened this was the golden rule. The idea of this was so if an English ship was to come in from
behind they could scoop it up like a net. The formation was that the stronger ships would go at the
front so they could easily surround any English ships that threatened the centre. This was the plan,
however it did not all go that way! Lord Howard, commander of the English fleet, used some of the
lighter and faster English ships to ?pick off? some of the stragglers (ones that were lagging behind)
whilst they were sailing up the English channel. Unfortunately this did not really affect the crescent
shape. Next came arguably one of the smartest moves in the battle, on 7th August Sir Francis Drake
sent out a number of old ships that had been set on fire, the Spanish were petrified, they were not sure
if the Ships had explosives on it, if they did so did the Spanish ships and the chances of them setting
on fire was very high. This came as a complete surprise to the

The Ready to Eat Breakfast Cereal Industry in 1994
(A)
1
All is not well in the land of Tony the Tiger.
In early 1994, the ready to eat (RTE) breakfast cereal industry had reached a critical turning point in
its evolution. In an industry historically characterized by stability and above average profitability,
slowing demand growth and a surge in private label sales threatened to undermine the dominant
positions of the Big Three: Kellogg, General Mills, and Philip Morris. The 1993 year end statistics
showed that industry sales growth had slowed to under 2%, while private labels had topped
5% market share by sales and 9% by volume for the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vitamin fortification, which first appeared during the second World War, presweetening, which gained
wide popularity in the 1950s, and the surge of interest in granola and natural cereals in the 1970s and
80s fueled this growth. By 1993, the
U.S. market consumed 2.82 billion pounds of cereal, grossing nearly $8 billion in sales for breakfast
cereal manufacturers.
The RTE cereal industry had historically been one of the most concentrated of all U.S. industries, and
firm market shares showed great persistence (see Exhibit 1). The largest cereal manufacturers were
extremely profitable, routinely posting ROAs for their cereal divisions in the 15 30% range. However,
the profitability of the industry attracted no significant entry, and the industry continued to become
more concentrated. As a result, in 1972 the Federal Trade Commission filed a major antitrust suit
against Kellogg, General Mills, and General Foods (then the maker of the Post line). The FTC argued
that the leading RTE cereal manufacturers had jointly monopolized the RTE cereal market. The FTC
case was based on the fact that the industry was concentrated and highly profitable, and not on
specific actions that the firms might have undertaken to achieve this. Nonetheless, it became clear that
the FTC believed that the firms had effectively raised

Disadvantages Of Tapons
1. Issue description:
Hint: Be specific in your description, of what your activity is specifically, what is its frequency, etc.
and why it is not sustainable.
My Sustainability Assessment will address the unsustainable effects of Tampons ecologically and
socially. Tampons are greatly used among women, as they approximately use 9,300 tampons in their
lifetime. It is also very convenient and compact as it can be seen on every store shelf. However, there
are many disadvantages in its use.
Every woman has their period every month. Hence, the tampons are greatly needed. With this need is
a health risk that can affect women in the future, such as dioxin residue, and chemicals in fragrances
that are found within the tampon itself. In these chemicals lies a more dangerous risk, which is Toxic
Shock Syndrome, pelvic inflammation to name a few. Thus, a woman s need can also be the one that
can put her in danger. Tampons, as small as it can seem, can also harm the environment. The
production of cotton uses pesticides that can be carcinogenic and can leave traces in tampons. The
plastic applicator found in tampons can harm marine ecosystem and can take years to degrade. The
tampon, itself, that are found in landfills can t also degrade and can cause carbon emissions.
On the other hand, Tampons are controlled and manufactured by well known companies such as
Procter Gamble, and Johnson Johnson, which makes it economically stable. Feminine products, such
as tampons, can increase up to the US $35.4 Billion in global sales. With this power, they can deceive
the customers into thinking that their product is safe when it is not.
2. Desired outcomes: Briefly explain each of the following outcomes:
(a) My issue is/is not ecologically sound because...
Tampons have always been in the garbage every month, as every woman uses it. Its waste can amount
to 62, 415lbs. This garbage, without proper disposal, can end in landfills, which can take up more than
a year to degrade. A tampon has super absorbent, dense fibers that are petroleum based, which takes
up a slower process to degrade in areas that are at a colder temperature. Moreover, its plastic
applicators can also be a cause in harming the marine ecosystem. Some of the

Wonder Sociological Concepts
Wonder One of my favorite movies is Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Wonder is based off of the inspiration
to never judge anyone by their appearance, to stand up for yourself and to not give into bullying. The
main character, Auggie Pullman, is a smart 10 year old boy with a facial deformity, who experiences
the first time going to a public school. The first important value in Wonder is to never judge anyone by
their appearance. Auggie s schedule in the past 10 years, consisted of being homeschooled by his

Bullying often leaves kids feeling helpless, vulnerable, and confused. Consequently, when kids are
bullies they are often shocked by bullying that they are not sure what to do (Gordon, n.d.). Society,
unfortunately, has become more focused on the bullies rather than the victims. Judging someone by
their looks is NOT okay. How can you judge someone when you do not even know the person? It is
from my personal experience, that people are nicer to the rich or middle class whereas others frown
upon poor people. Many people make the generalization that poor people take advantage of the state
benefits that are offered, which is not true. Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.
There is not a single profile of a young person involved in bullying. Youth who bully can be either will
connected socially and may be bullied by others as well. Similarly, those who are bullied sometimes
bully others. Solutions to bullying are not simple. Bullying Prevention approaches that show the most
promise confront the problem from many angles (Government, n.d.). Take the time to get to know
someone before you judge or bully them. Every single person is subject to life, not suicide. Each of us

Health Information Technology
Introduction: Office of National coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has funded
this program to find breakthrough innovations in the field of Health Information Technology (IT). This
research program was awarded $60 million and this program is divided into four focus areas. This
program brings together researchers, healthcare providers, and other health IT sector stakeholders in
order to transform the research products into practice. This program is designed to improve quality,
safety and efficiency of healthcare using advanced information technology. According to Healthit.gov
current adoption rates of health IT in different states we see that some states are better than others [1],
hence this program is designed to find the factors that are hindering the adoption of health IT and the
products developed using this project should help propagate the growth of health IT. This program has
both short term and long term related goals hence they focus both on current and future needs of
health IT products. I have selected this program because it is important to understand the factors that
are effecting healthcare practices health IT adoption and work towards analyzing and finding solutions
to those problems, so that there is a 100% rate of adoption and data flow is seamless between the
healthcare practices. This program helps keep the maintenance cost of the products developed to

Hypothesis Testing
Hypothesis Testing
Hypothesis testing is basically a process that uses statistical inference to test claims about population
parameters. In hypothesis testing we begin by making a tentative assumption about a population
parameter. This assumption is called the null hypothesis and is denoted by Ho. We then define another
hypothesis, called the alternative hypothesis, which is the opposite of what is stated is the null
hypothesis. The alternative hypothesis is denoted by Ha. The hypothesis testing procedure involves
using data from a sample to test the competing claims indicated by the null and alternate hypotheses.
Testing the hypothesis is similar to a criminal trail. Ho: The defendant is innocent Ha: The ... Show

Testing this will entail taking a sample of the 2 liter bottles and measuring their contents. In terms of
the hypotheses formulation you give the company the benefit of the doubt and assume that their claim
is true. Using this approach the hypothesis will be stated as given below: H0: [pic] 67 Ha: [pic] 67
In a situation where we are testing the validity of an assumption, the null hypothesis is generally
formulated based on the assumption. The alternate hypothesis is formulated so that the rejection of the
null will provide statistical evidence that the stated assumption is incorrect.
Decision Making
A hypothesis testing situation involving decision making occurs when a decision maker must choose
between two courses of action, one associated with the null hypothesis and the other with the alternate
hypothesis. For example, on the basis of a sample of parts from a shipment that has just been received,
a quality control inspector must decide whether to accept the shipment or return it to the supplier
because it does not meet specifications. Assume that a specification for the part indicates a mean
length of 1 inch per part is required. If the average length of the part is greater than or less than the

Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is an information infrastructure providing access and enabling
interoperability among spatial information based on standards, policies, regulations and coordination
mechanisms (Groot R, 1997). The methods for creating SDI undergone radical changes in the recent
years like the shift from the product led model or data producer led model to process led model or data
user model, etc. However, there are some limitations challenging the SDI growth like the lack of
standards to handle linked geospatial data, etc. The goal of this essay is to detail the concepts for the
creation of an improved SDI in the year 2019. The intended SDI integrates the existing developments

would help in creation of geospatial or aspatial relationships between data based on the ontology or
geographic information. This would help recognize patterns in data and help us to find auxiliary
information. People The future SDI would encourage the participation of public sector like
government agencies, private sector like companies and citizens (Internet users). To increase the

increases the ease of participation, like providing a set of applications related to day to day life.
Willingness to share data should be cultivated with the help of public sector agencies, by giving them

Why do people change there name when the write or publish? I would always like to change my

On Euthyphro s Dilemma and Divine Command Essay examples
On Euthyphro s Dilemma and Divine Command
In Plato s Euthyphro, Socrates presents a fundamentally meta ethical problem to
Euthyphro by asking whether the pious or holy is beloved by the gods because it is holy, or holy
because it is beloved of the gods (Plato 219)? I will relate this question to the
Divine Command Theory of morality and discuss the philosophical implications associated with each
possible answer to the dilemma while demonstrating fallacies and inequalities within each.
Divine Command Theory (DCT) asserts that morality is somehow dependent upon God, and that
moral obligation consists in obedience to God s commands. Divine
Command Theory includes the claim that morality is ultimately based on the commands

Following these a priori presuppositions that God is both omnipotent and omniscient (as well as
intrinsically good), and that morality is ultimately dependent on God s commands, then it is sound to
reason that piety and moral goodness are implicit in anything God commands.
The argument may be made that my logic is circular and that to define what is morally good by that
standard is both flawed and fallacious. To this I rebut: How would I define good without presupposing
that God is the foundation of such goodness? I would argue that although I may have to have a map to
know where Dallas is, Dallas still has to exist prior to the map. Following that logic, God s goodness
would exist prior to the existence of finite, derived goodnesses, though conceptually or
epistemologically... (Moreland
90).
The first horn proposed to Euthyphro Are morally good acts commanded by god because they are
morally good, raises the question that if acts are commanded by God because they are morally good,
then there must be some independent force outside of
God governing what is good and what is not. If there is an independent force governingZellner 3 this
then God s will becomes arbitrary. Martin Luther adamantly argues against the possibility of this,
For it is not because he is or was obliged so to will that what he wills is right, but on the contrary,
because he himself so wills, therefore what happens must be right. Cause and reason

The colour used is important to the artwork because together they create a place of tranquillity
meeting on coming havoc.
The lines that are used do not outline individual objects in the painting but define the shapes of each.
They show the direction that the artist took when painting this particular art piece. They are delicate
and sensitive lines in the sense that they are not always visible but they still define the object.
The painting has been painted to a deep 2D form. This form creates an illusion of a large amount of
space. As if to create the illusion that you were looking out past the village towards the horizon. This
was important so to capture the full effect of havoc reaching the harmony.
The shape of the artwork is soft and flowing into each section. By using this format the artist has
created a piece of volume and depth.
Interpretation
A peaceful village in a sense of harmony with an on coming storm, darkness and gloom. The black
birds are flying out of the impending doom to shelter.
My interpretation of what is happening is the village is peaceful sort of like the soul and then the
storm comes and suddenly everything is in havoc. As if the painter had some form of inner turmoil
when painting.
The painter is trying to say that nothing is ever peaceful forever and eventually darkness will come.
He was looking out over the village and saw the oncoming storm on the horizon and the black birds
fleeing and it reflected his inner

A Prayer for Owen Meany Essay
A Prayer for Owen Meany
Not the least of my problems is that I can hardly even imagine what kind of an experience a genuine,
self authenticating religious experience would be. Without somehow destroying me in the process,
how could God reveal himself in a way that would leave no room for doubt? If there were no room for
doubt, there would be no room for me.
Frederick Buechner
In the novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving, Owen Meany s belief of predestination makes

As John grew older, he became hurt and obsessed with the whole notion. He always thought of what
ifs and if only to assuage his evident wrath for the loss of his mother.
John s troubled soul was fueled by hatred towards Owen s control for his destiny, the kind of control
that John never has in his own life. The events leading up to the Vietnam War and beyond were out of
his authority, however, as destiny has it; it is inescapably going to happen. The war itself indirectly
took the life of John s best friend and John always felt helpless and responsible thinking that somehow
he should have taken some kind of control in order to change occurrences. Due to Owen Meany s
belief that he is an instrument of God and that God has set a task for him to complete, Owen does his
best to fulfill each part of his destiny. John does not understand why Owen bothered, John himself
having so little faith and acceptance in destiny and fate. Owen has control over which path in life he
should take, he could follow God s orders, or he could ignore his calling and not do as his fate would
have to save the little Vietnamese children. John s feeling of helplessness in the fate that has befallen
Owen makes him feel responsible and angry because he thinks he could have tried to persuade Owen
to avoid his destiny. Moreover, John is angry by Owen s faith in God and his acceptance of his destiny
by living his life accordingly rather than avoiding it, the control that John never

Living With Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder
I. Introduction Living with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is one of the hardest challenges I
have ever faced. Having been diagnosed at the age of seven, it is the most prevalent thing in my life.
ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed psychological disorder in the United States (Hughes). It is a
persistent disorder, often prevalent through adolescence and adulthood. Most individuals diagnosed
are between the ages of seven and nine, although there have been numerous cases where individuals
have been diagnosed in their later years. Case studies show that males are four times more likely to be
diagnosed/affected with ADHD, and lately, studies have shown an unexplained increase in the number
of diagnoses made in children. It has been recognized that in the past, people have scoffed at the
diagnosis of ADHD, and even disregarding and bashing the disorder, calling it things like, a real
medical hoax (Citation). These individuals, however, are severely misguided, seeing as though ADHD
is a real disorder, and it affects millions of people worldwide in present day. There have been
neurological studies studying and showing that ADHD is, in fact, neurologically related, and it is most
likely caused by chemical imbalances in individual s brains (Citation). One greatly debated question in
the world of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is, Can an individual that was diagnosed with
ADHD eventually outgrow it? One side of this argument states that an individual that has been

John F. Kennedy s Influence On The United States
The United States is known for being one of the most diverse societies in the world. It is made up of
over eight major races. One race in particular, the irish, makes up around 11% of the total
population(U.S. Census Bureau 2013). The Irish Americans have very strong roots going all the way
back to when they were forced overseas due to the potato famine in the nineteenth century. These
immigrants brought with them not only a strong heritage, but also many ancestors whose children
would play an important role in shaping many of the American ways. One person of Irish descent who
perhaps had the most significant impact on our country was John F. Kennedy. John F. Kennedy shaped
the United States in many ways. From becoming the first Roman ... Show more content on

On April 15, Kennedy launched a mission known as the Bay of Pigs Fiasco. The CIA had informed
Kennedy of a plan they had to train Cuban exiles to invade Cuba. The goal was to overthrow Fidel
Castro and establish a non communist government. The invasion occurred on April 15, 1961, when the
cuban exiles set off to bomb their homeland. The fourteen hundred exiles were eventually captured or
killed. Kennedy paid over $53 million to get the captured exiles back. The Bay of Pigs invasion was a
disaster, and it embarrassed Kennedy greatly. This wasn t the last crisis of Kennedy s. What became
known as the Cuban Missile Crisis took place in October of 1962. An American spy plane secretly
spotted nuclear missile sites being built by the Soviet Union in Cuba. Kennedy did not want the Soviet
Union or Cuba to know that he found out about the missiles. After much thought, Kennedy decided to
place a ring of ships around Cuba. He called it a quarantine because he wanted to prevent the Soviets
from bringing in more military supplies. Kennedy made demands for Nikita Khrushchev to remove his
missiles from Cuba. They both decided that a nuclear war would cause great devastation. A public deal
was made between the two countries that the Soviets would dismantle the weapons site in exchange
for a pledge from the United States not to invade Cuba. A secret deal was made between the Nikita
and Khrushchev; the United States also agreed to remove nuclear missiles from Turkey. The Signing
of the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty took place on August 5, 1963. This treaty limited the production of
nuclear weapons by the Soviet Union, the United States and the United Kingdom, and it gained back
President Kennedy s reputation with the American

Where The Wild Things Are
For my final project, I chose to find music that accompanied the text in Where the Wild Things Are. I
believe that the music I chose not only accompanies the text, but also provides support for the visual
characteristics of landscape science shown throughout the illustrations on the pages of this book.
Therefore, for my final project I will be examining how the forest landscape works in conjunction
with three aspects of this book: the text of Where the Wild Things Are, the illustration of Where the
Wild Things Are, and the music found in Under the Stars from the Lion King.
First of all, after my presentation, I will review the forest landscape aspects of this book from my
earlier in class media presentation. For example, I will point out that the text says that Max s room
turned into a forest. Then, I will show the class how the text supports the aspects of the forest
landscape in the illustrations through the imagery of the tree ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For one, it is hard to incorporate many mediums. As I practice giving this performance, I need to know
specifically at what time I will need to turn the page. This is vital to the project, as I need to have the

medium. To solve this problem, I have to go through my performance many times, noting what the
words say, how to inflex my voice, and at what time I need to turn the page so that the performance
will run smoothly and accurately represent every aspect of the forest landscape. Another challenge that
I have is trying to replay the song, since I currently can only play it from YouTube. To make sure this
isn t a problem, I will download the song and put it on replay as I perform. However, despite these
challenges, I feel a lot of success with this project! I feel that I can incorporate many mediums clearly

worse condition than him. Stanley saw the steadfastness in Zero and it motivated him to keep climbing
up the mountain. As Stanley and Zero faced challenges when traveling up the mountain, they ended up
making an agreement to help each other, when needed. When Zero helped Stanley in a time of need,
Zero ended up with ... deep gashes in both hands. He had held on the metal blade of the shovel,
keeping it in place, as Stanley climbed. (Sachar 166) Zero s decision to help Stanley out, even if it
meant getting hurt in the process, showed that he was willing to sacrifice himself. Zero s ability to
sacrifice himself for a friend taught Stanley selflessness. When Stanley ended up getting blamed for
stealing Mr.Sir s sunflower seeds, he was surprised to see his hole had been dug for him when he
returned. Why d you help me? Stanley asked. Zero turned around. You didn t steal the sunflower
seeds. (Sachar 96) At this point, Stanley is realizing each boy s true colors. Zero didn t have to dig the
hole for him. Anyone but Zero should have dug the hole for Stanley because both Stanley and Zero
didn t have a part in stealing Mr.Sir s seeds. This is a great representation of Zero s selflessness. As
you can see, Zero played a huge part in influencing Stanley. Zero represented a steadfast and selfless

The Ultimate Management Challenge For A Family Business
In this week s chapter The Ultimate Management Challenge we read about succession plans and what
that can mean for a family business. According to the reading about 40% of businesses in the world
are family businesses that have more than one generation working for them and will have to come up
with a succession plan if they don t already have one. A Succession plan is simply passing on the
business leadership and power from one senior generation to another younger generation. When
reading this book I learned a lot about the rags to rags, shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves phenomenon, and
why it can and does occur, as well as 2 main things a family business must have to be successful. If
the new generation comes in with the same enthusiasm and values as the previous generation then the
transition to new management will be much easier and in theory there will still be a company for the
upcoming generations to be a part of and profit from, this is the idea of rags to riches. Sadly this isn t
the most common way succession plans work, most commonly the second or third generation comes
in and doesn t share the enthusiasm, vision, or values as the previous generation(s) had and runs the
business into the ground. This trend has many names: rags to rags, shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves, etc.
however it all has the same general meaning, the wealth or success of the business does not exceed 3
generations. Although I find the loss of enthusiasm, vision and/ or values tends to be the most

Power Relations Between India And Its Implications
In regards to power relations in India, it is important to be familiar with various theories of power.
These concepts are articulated in the scholarly works of Dumont, Gramsci and Sontheimer. In the text
of Homo Hierachius: The Caste System and its implications , Dumont uses the term encompassment
to explain power; where as Gramsci s Subaltern Culture theory is based on the concept of hegemony
and subaltern culture . On the other hand, Sontheimer looks at the aspects of Hinduism: The five
Components and Their Interaction .
Dumont attempts to explain the formulation of hierarchy system, by the concept of encompassment.
An example is given drawing from the biblical story of creation, which God created Adam as the
prototype of mankind. In the second phase God created Eve by extracting a part of Adams Rib
(Dumont 1970 p.240). They became the prototypes of female and male. This has turned Adam from
being undifferentiated to become a man. In this sense Adam had become two things the one who
represent mankind and the prototype of the male individual of his species (p.240). On one side men
and women are equal, however on the other hand women is the opposite to men. This describes the
hierarchy system, in which Eve is encompassed as being part of Adams body (p.241). This means a
hierarchy relation constitutes of a whole and the elements of this whole. The elements belong to the
whole as a set and although they look identical, at the same time they are different.

  • 2. Speech About My Mother My mother, Mrs. Naomi Jackson Rhodman a Christian, wife, mother, and social activist. When I think about my momma, some of her favorite things come to mind, her favorite color, blue, her favorite food, vegetables, and favorite dessert, cake. Mahalia Jackson, her favorite Gospel singer and favorite gospel songs: Oh How I Love Jesus and Precious Lord . My momma, oh boy, could she SING! Singing Precious Lord would bring tears to my eyes. My mother s voice had great versatility, momma could sing soprano, tenor, and alto most singers can only sing in one voice. Whatever the melody needed, she could sing it, the music of the choir was sweeter because momma was singing. The extra time in her schedule went to the church, serving as the church treasurer and as a member of the Board of Trustees. Momma and daddy (George Rhodman) were very active in our church, Standfield, and our community. Love of the Lord, family, and all people, my parents exemplified that unconditional love. In fact, momma designed our church edifice and daddy built it with their own resources. Serving the church with dedication, professionalism, and their service blessed all. Health challenges curtailed my parent s participation in church events, but their faithful service for all those years continues to bless us. The success that I have realized in my life and the ministry can be tied to my parent s dedication and faithfulness. Through forty years of marriage, child rearing, and ... He was the god that the Hindu people looked up to in order to achieve their goals. Krishna was a loyal, moral, and faithful person. Deeply, Krishna was admired by his devotees for his righteous mind and his ethical model of behavior. How do people believe Krishna was a reincarnation of Vishnu, the god of preserver, and protector, the second god of the trinity? What special thing about Krishna compare to other reincarnation of Vishnu. Krishna was the hope of deliverance and hopeless people. Firstly, Krishna was born in jail where his mom Devaki and his dad Vasudeva was put into jail by king Kamsa for the fear of being destroyed or killed by the eighth child of Devaki. He is worshiped as the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu. Every sibling of Krishna was killed by Kamsa, but Krishna survived from being killed. He was the reincarnation of Vishnu, Vishnu appeared before Devaki and Vasudeva and told them he would return to earth by being born as their child and will rescue them. The rightful king of Mathura Ugrasen had been deposed by Kamsa. After Krishna was born the father found himself freed from prison and fled to a safe house. • 6. Descriptive Essay On Fashion Shows My cousin, Eshna was taking me to a fashion show being held in Kolkata. I ve never been to one before. In fact, I had no idea of what exactly it was that they showed in fashion shows. In dog shows, they showed dogs; in baby shows they showed babies. I knew what dogs were, and what babies were, so that was all right. But I hadn t a clue what fashion was, and was looking forward to finding out. All I knew about fashion shows was that they involved people called models. The models walked up and down something called a catwalk. No one seemed to know why a catwalk should be called a catwalk. Why not a dogwalk, for instance? Well, the answer to that seemed simple. If they called the catwalk a dogwalk then people might think that what they d come to see was a dog show, instead of a fashion show and be on the lookout for a French poodle a la Rohit Bal. On the other hand, no one s ever heard of a cat show, so if you call the catwalk in a fashion show a catwalk you d be alright, and no one would expect to see Garfield strutting his stuff courtesy Ritu Beri. Just to further confuse matters, however, the catwalk is also known as a ramp. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What precisely was the damn thing? I had a feeling that fashion had something to do with clothes. But to equate mere clothes with fashion was like confusing daal bhaat with haute cuisine. It was the page that came after Page 2, which in turn came after Page 1. These things aren t too difficult to work out, if you take a deep breath and don t panic. Managing human emotions plays a critical role in everyday functioning. After years of lively debate on the significance and validity of its construct, emotional intelligence (EI) has generated a robust body of theories, research studies, and measures (Stough, Saklofske, amp; Parker). There has been work and many ideas by Jack Mayer, Peter Salovey, David Caruso, Daniel Goleman, and Steve Hein to name a few. All researchers have different interpretations of the term emotional intelligence and different visions of what emotional intelligence can mean for humanity (Hein, 2005). In 1985 Wayne Leon Payne, then a graduate student at an alternative liberal arts college in the USA, wrote a doctoral dissertation which included the term emotional intelligence in the title. This seems to be the first academic use of the term emotional intelligence. In the next five years no one else seems to have used the term emotional intelligence in any academic paper. Then in 1990 the work of two American university professors, John Mayer and Peter Salovey, was published in two academic journal articles. Mayer and Salovey were trying to develop a way of scientifically measuring the difference between people s ability in the area of emotions. They found that some people were better than others at things like identifying their own feelings, identifying the feelings of others, and solving problems involving emotional issues. From the earliest in time, Africans have used religion and rituals for many things. Many African tribes or civilizations share many common core beliefs. Finding The Right Person For A Specific Job Finding the right person for a specific job can be a difficult task and there are many components that management would need to determine before hiring an individual. Even though an individual interviews well and has the qualifications for the job, they may not be a great fit for the job or the organization. If an employee is hired with that criteria, then it could really affect the profitability of the company and generate a lot of dissatisfied employees and customers. The ability to put the right people in the right place, at the right time, is crucial to the success of any exceptional company (Alter, 2015, p. 43) Therefore, the hiring process needs to be taken slowly and the potential employee needs to be evaluated very carefully to avoid the consequences of the employee not fitting into their job role or more importantly not being the right fit for the organization. However, we know that sometimes this situation is inevitable, so how what are the consequences of hiring individuals that do not fit their job description or that are not the right fit for the organization? Person job fit is described as a fit between the abilities of a person and the demands of the job, or between the desires of a person and the attributes of a job (Yi Chang, Chien, Chin Chey, 2014, p. 1539). During the sail up to England the Armada were told to keep a crescent formation no matter what happened this was the golden rule. The idea of this was so if an English ship was to come in from behind they could scoop it up like a net. The formation was that the stronger ships would go at the front so they could easily surround any English ships that threatened the centre. This was the plan, however it did not all go that way! Lord Howard, commander of the English fleet, used some of the lighter and faster English ships to ?pick off? some of the stragglers (ones that were lagging behind) whilst they were sailing up the English channel. Unfortunately this did not really affect the crescent shape. Next came arguably one of the smartest moves in the battle, on 7th August Sir Francis Drake sent out a number of old ships that had been set on fire, the Spanish were petrified, they were not sure if the Ships had explosives on it, if they did so did the Spanish ships and the chances of them setting on fire was very high. February 14, 1997 The Ready to Eat Breakfast Cereal Industry in 1994 (A) 1 All is not well in the land of Tony the Tiger. In early 1994, the ready to eat (RTE) breakfast cereal industry had reached a critical turning point in its evolution. In an industry historically characterized by stability and above average profitability, slowing demand growth and a surge in private label sales threatened to undermine the dominant positions of the Big Three: Kellogg, General Mills, and Philip Morris. The 1993 year end statistics showed that industry sales growth had slowed to under 2%, while private labels had topped 5% market share by sales and 9% by volume for the first ... Vitamin fortification, which first appeared during the second World War, presweetening, which gained wide popularity in the 1950s, and the surge of interest in granola and natural cereals in the 1970s and 80s fueled this growth. By 1993, the U.S. market consumed 2.82 billion pounds of cereal, grossing nearly $8 billion in sales for breakfast cereal manufacturers. The RTE cereal industry had historically been one of the most concentrated of all U.S. industries, and firm market shares showed great persistence (see Exhibit 1). The largest cereal manufacturers were extremely profitable, routinely posting ROAs for their cereal divisions in the 15 30% range. However, the profitability of the industry attracted no significant entry, and the industry continued to become more concentrated. As a result, in 1972 the Federal Trade Commission filed a major antitrust suit against Kellogg, General Mills, and General Foods (then the maker of the Post line). The FTC argued that the leading RTE cereal manufacturers had jointly monopolized the RTE cereal market. The FTC case was based on the fact that the industry was concentrated and highly profitable, and not on specific actions that the firms might have undertaken to achieve this. My Sustainability Assessment will address the unsustainable effects of Tampons ecologically and socially. Tampons are greatly used among women, as they approximately use 9,300 tampons in their lifetime. It is also very convenient and compact as it can be seen on every store shelf. However, there are many disadvantages in its use. Every woman has their period every month. Hence, the tampons are greatly needed. With this need is a health risk that can affect women in the future, such as dioxin residue, and chemicals in fragrances that are found within the tampon itself. In these chemicals lies a more dangerous risk, which is Toxic Shock Syndrome, pelvic inflammation to name a few. Thus, a woman s need can also be the one that can put her in danger. Tampons, as small as it can seem, can also harm the environment. The production of cotton uses pesticides that can be carcinogenic and can leave traces in tampons. The plastic applicator found in tampons can harm marine ecosystem and can take years to degrade. The tampon, itself, that are found in landfills can t also degrade and can cause carbon emissions. On the other hand, Tampons are controlled and manufactured by well known companies such as Procter Gamble, and Johnson Johnson, which makes it economically stable. Feminine products, such as tampons, can increase up to the US $35.4 Billion in global sales. With this power, they can deceive the customers into thinking that their product is safe when it is not. 2. Desired outcomes: Briefly explain each of the following outcomes: (a) My issue is/is not ecologically sound because... Tampons have always been in the garbage every month, as every woman uses it. Its waste can amount to 62, 415lbs. This garbage, without proper disposal, can end in landfills, which can take up more than a year to degrade. A tampon has super absorbent, dense fibers that are petroleum based, which takes up a slower process to degrade in areas that are at a colder temperature. Moreover, its plastic applicators can also be a cause in harming the marine ecosystem. Some of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a teen, I had the opportunity to volunteer on a summer mission trip that focused on serving the homeless population in San Francisco. Instead of passing judgment or feeling intimidated, I chose to serve these people with compassion and respect. What I experienced during this time was transformational and helped to direct me on a pathway towards service. Service to the community has always been a significant part of my purpose in life. In hypothesis testing we begin by making a tentative assumption about a population parameter. This assumption is called the null hypothesis and is denoted by Ho. I will relate this question to the Divine Command Theory of morality and discuss the philosophical implications associated with each possible answer to the dilemma while demonstrating fallacies and inequalities within each. To this I rebut: How would I define good without presupposing that God is the foundation of such goodness? I feel that I can incorporate many mediums clearly and concisely describe how each makes a collage of the forest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Stanley saw the steadfastness in Zero and it motivated him to keep climbing up the mountain. As Stanley and Zero faced challenges when traveling up the mountain, they ended up making an agreement to help each other, when needed. When Zero helped Stanley in a time of need, Zero ended up with ... deep gashes in both hands. He had held on the metal blade of the shovel, keeping it in place, as Stanley climbed. (Sachar 166) Zero s decision to help Stanley out, even if it meant getting hurt in the process, showed that he was willing to sacrifice himself. • 34. The Ultimate Management Challenge For A Family Business In this week s chapter The Ultimate Management Challenge we read about succession plans and what that can mean for a family business. According to the reading about 40% of businesses in the world are family businesses that have more than one generation working for them and will have to come up with a succession plan if they don t already have one. A Succession plan is simply passing on the business leadership and power from one senior generation to another younger generation. When reading this book I learned a lot about the rags to rags, shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves phenomenon, and why it can and does occur, as well as 2 main things a family business must have to be successful. If the new generation comes in with the same enthusiasm and values as the previous generation then the transition to new management will be much easier and in theory there will still be a company for the upcoming generations to be a part of and profit from, this is the idea of rags to riches. Sadly this isn t the most common way succession plans work, most commonly the second or third generation comes in and doesn t share the enthusiasm, vision, or values as the previous generation(s) had and runs the business into the ground. This trend has many names: rags to rags, shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves, etc. however it all has the same general meaning, the wealth or success of the business does not exceed 3 generations. Although I find the loss of enthusiasm, vision and/ or values tends to be the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Power Relations Between India And Its Implications In regards to power relations in India, it is important to be familiar with various theories of power. These concepts are articulated in the scholarly works of Dumont, Gramsci and Sontheimer. In the text of Homo Hierachius: The Caste System and its implications , Dumont uses the term encompassment to explain power; where as Gramsci s Subaltern Culture theory is based on the concept of hegemony and subaltern culture . On the other hand, Sontheimer looks at the aspects of Hinduism: The five Components and Their Interaction . Dumont attempts to explain the formulation of hierarchy system, by the concept of encompassment. An example is given drawing from the biblical story of creation, which God created Adam as the prototype of mankind. In the second phase God created Eve by extracting a part of Adams Rib (Dumont 1970 p.240). They became the prototypes of female and male. This has turned Adam from being undifferentiated to become a man. In this sense Adam had become two things the one who represent mankind and the prototype of the male individual of his species (p.240). On one side men and women are equal, however on the other hand women is the opposite to men. This describes the hierarchy system, in which Eve is encompassed as being part of Adams body (p.241). This means a hierarchy relation constitutes of a whole and the elements of this whole. The elements belong to the whole as a set and although they look identical, at the same time they are different. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
