This was a study conducted at IUP on undergraduate students to see if processing information at certain
levels would improve memory recall. During the study, we presented the participants with a PowerPoint of
information on a made up country. The participants was randomly assigned to a shallow, medium, or deep
processing instruction, which explained to them how to take notes throughout the presentation. After,
students recieved a distractor task for 15 minutes, and after given a multiple choice test on the information
showed on the slides. The results showed that there was no significant difference between note taking
instructions and the number of correct answers. All three task instructions in the study showed similar

326 Market Street, open for general public parking 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Friday and 9:00

All Faiths Food Bank Organization
All Faiths Food Bank is an organization that collects food products from many donation sources and
distributes them to local people that are in need. The organization moves the food through its 20,000 square
foot warehouse, off Fruitville Road in Sarasota (A). After the food is properly inspected, it is then
distributed to, currently 184, Sarasota and DeSoto County agencies and outpost centers, such as mobile
pantries at community centers and churches (A). Those that are deemed financially eligible applicants can
then receive their, much needed, nutritional assistance. Because of the summer programs last year, such as
the backpack program, 26,986 children received food; this equates to 1,994,415 meals (B). It is estimated
that All Faiths Food Bank supplies a total of approximately 8 million pounds of food per year, which
equates to 6.5 million meals (A).

Playing soccer on his current soccer team has been the most significant event in Dennis life. Five years ago,
Dennis was a victim to his malicious allergies. Exposure to outdoor activities were difficult for him as he
constantly had extreme reactions. At that time, we decided that Dennis would have to combat his allergies
rather than temporarily subside them through medicine. Then, we found a soccer team. At first, Dennis
seemed curious and ready to play, but the team he played for was unstable and new with a constant losing
streak. With his allergies only getting worse, he faced the decision of quitting. However, friends and family
prevented him from taking the easy way out. Now he has been playing for five years on the exact same
