Tax Saving Strategies over the Holidays
As the year winds down, it can be easy to get caught up in Christmas parties and bonuses without
thinking through the tax ramifications. While it s easy to spend over the holidays, business owners can
also save, with a bit of planning. Here are tax saving strategies for your business over the holidays:
Deduct Christmas Gifts
It s great to acknowledge your employees hard work and what better way to do so than with Christmas
presents? From a tax perspective, your best money saving strategy is to take advantage of gift
deductions, within the set IRS limits.
A business can deduct up to $25 of a business gift you give to each person including employees during
a tax year. To read about the specific details of the $25 limit, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To save yourself the burden of having to give the bonus every year just in case you don t make a profit
one year announce the bonus as a one time event.
An S Corp can deduct bonuses to owners and shareholders, provided that they own their shares at the
time when the bonuses are paid. As for C Corporations, the rules are a bit narrower. These
organizations can only claim the bonuses that are paid to owners and shareholders who have 50
percent or higher ownership at the time when the bonuses are paid.
For LLCs, sole proprietorships, and partnerships, the rules differ slightly again. Unfortunately,
bonuses cannot be deducted as business expenses as the IRS considers the owners, members, and
partners to be self employed.
Deduct Employee Awards
If you like to give awards to your employees at Christmas, be sure to keep your receipts for these
items if they are tangible personal property according to your state s tax department. An example of
such tangible property is a

7. Diversity In The 18th Century
The diversity in 18th century American society was like an undeveloped larva compared to the
intricate butterfly America is today. The larva of 1791 consisted of a white majority, while today s
butterfly is flush with colors from all over the world, where diversity has catalyzed change within the
society as a whole (periodic). Although Thomas Paine argued America represented a haven of
concordant living amongst people of diverse backgrounds under a government promising unalienable
rights, the grand change in American demographics has inevitably produced turmoil among different
cultures, divided by a broad discrepancy of wealth between social classes and sweeping contrast
between ideologies; America, therefore, is too young and diverse of a country where citizens have not
found a common ground to stand together on (parallelism). The pollyannish goal of society is concord,
the weaving of various cultures, ideas, and principles to create a harmonic, unified community. A
society under concord is a utopia, where according to Paine, any difficulty is expunged, simply by

program increased the cadets strength of their character and their resolve. The documentary covers the
support the program supplies for its participants through the various exercises, counseling sessions,
classes and work opportunities. The program offers each of these benefits at different phases. The
documentary presents each participant in a way that it is difficult not to find some way to relate to
each of them and to even care for them or their sense of purpose.
Notably, the program appears thorough with its design to offer support systems and provides various
means of addressing potential obstacles of a cadets success, such as lack of education, lack of support
from family, anger management and substance abuse. Even so, a viewer cannot help but question
some of the harsh treatment. For example, in the beginning you are introduced to two young men who
struggle with understanding the English commands that a drill instructor is barking at them. Later
within the documentary, these same cadets are taken aside and told they are expected to work harder
to overcome the challenge of not understanding English. Towards the end one cadet ends up breaking
down sobbing because he fails one of his critical tests towards graduation, due to the language barrier.

10. Religion In Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market
Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market discusses two sisters who try to resist the fruit sold by Goblin men,
but one sister decides to eat the fruit anyways despite her sister s warning. This leads to horrible
consequences for Laura, yet later on she is saved by her sister s, Lizzie, actions. There seems to be a
great debate on whether or not this poem is a Christian allegory. Religion was a major trait of the
Victorian era, with Christian beliefs presented throughout many literary works and art pieces.
Christina Rossetti, herself, was deeply influenced by religion and governed herself by strict religious
principles. Her beliefs are widely seen throughout many of her works, especially that of Goblin
Market. This poem not only support the religious argument by depicting the story of Adam and Eve,
but by also displaying devotional symbolism throughout. Religion was a crucial and important factor

The original novel written by James Fenimore Cooper has been popular ever since it was first

A white man is adopted as a toddler by the Mohican Chingachgook and raised together with his foster

The real Colonel Munro and the massacre
Contrary to popular belief (mostly because of the 1992 movie) Colonel George Munro (spelled Monro
in real life) did NOT die during the massacre. He arrived at Fort Edwards and went shortly thereafter
to Albany to condemn Webb s cowardly actions during the siege. Webb was recalled to England and
reassigned. His reputation was ruined.
It is easy to picture nearly the entire column, which was marching from Fort William Henry to Fort
Edwards, being slaughtered when you hear the story. When 1600 armed, Indian warriors are attacking
a defenseless, panicked column of about 2400 people (including women children), there is not much
left to the imagination how things happened. In reality, however, it did not happen the way that the
most people think it did. Colonel Monro s own estimations were that 129 were killed and wounded
among the British troops. Regarding the colonial militia, he said, No Regular Accot Could be got from
the Provincials but their Numbers Kill d Could not be Less than Four Officers about 40 Men. And

families like to bring back childhood experiences at Disneyland. While others seem to like the

alike with one another because both parks offer an amazing shows and spectaculars to see, but both of

Disneyland is referred to the happiest place on Earth because children s favorite Disney characters

famous Mickey Mouse and watch their parades around the park through out the day. At night time
families watch the amazing firework show. Even though Disneyland gives families to enjoy Disney
characters in life it s costly if you have big families. Just by staying at the Disneyland resort is
expensive just for a couple of days spent there. There are several fun rides to go on all over the park,
but with those fun rides are very long lines that take ages to advance closer to the rides. Once upon a

14. The Pros And Cons Of Traditional Expatriation

Expatriation is a complicated and complex process which is influenced by a number of matters,
especially the qualification and fit in the subsidiary are mostly influenced by the expatriate him

even though the relocation would be favorable for one of the partners, if it is causing a net loss which
is of greater magnitude for the other partner foregoing the opportunity maximizes family utility
(Bielby and Bielby, 1992). As a result this model proposes that dual earning families migrate less than
families with a single earner (Mincer, 1978).
The second model is based on the social exchange theory (Emerson, 1976) and suggests similar
predictions. However, it differs from the one previously mentioned, as it introduces the concept of
power as the main tool through which decisions are made. Consequently, the partner with the greater
bargaining power (often determined through income) is likely to dictate the outcome of a relocation
decision (Hood, 1983).
Thirdly stands the gender role and provider role model. Hood (1983) claims that each partner
subscribes to regarding a certain deviation in respect of their roles in a family, which in consequence
affects the process of decision making. Undoubtedly, this model has experienced great shifts during
the last 20 years from a traditional male dominance as breadwinners to increasing numbers of primary

Leadership Approach Paper
Organizations depend on the management and leadership skills of individuals in order to be
successful. Leaders do not have to be managers but are equally important. Leaders are individuals who

objectives for the company. Leadership is defined as the ability of an individual to influence, motivate,
and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organization. . . . (House et

the behavioral approach. I was always concerned about given tasks and people. My behavior

Leslie Sponsel takes a remarkably sensible approach to certain academic controversies over
anthropological investigation of the Amazon Basin. To some degree, Sponsel s article demands to be
understood in a larger context within the overall ecosystem of academic anthropology, so to speak. As
indicated in the title of her article, Sponsel approaches the subject with a special focus on adaptation,
which necessarily implies changing conditions. As she notes in her introductory remarks:
For convenience the review is organized around the following domains: ecosystem, cultural system,
change, and research trends and needs. An ecosystem is composed of abiotic and biotic components
which interact through the flow of energy, matter, and information, and all of this varies in space and
time. (67)
It is here that a reader in 2012 gets a glimpse of the much larger context. At the time of Sponsel s

in their infancy. This may seem like a minor point, but it indicates the fundamental validity of Sponsel

21. Horace Mann s The Banking Concept Of Education
Education throughout the world is viewed as a privilege. It s a chance for individuals to expand their
knowledge. It helps create a successful path for the social and economical structures of a society. Or at
least, that s the idea. People like Horace Mann argue that education is , the great equalizer of the
conditions of men, making education sound essential and liberating. Others, like Paulo Freire, argue
that education is suffering of narration sickness and is in need of a reform because the system is tied to
an extensive social structure of oppression. Freire introduces The Banking Concept of Education in
which he addresses that the current educational system involves one type of educator; the banking
concept teacher. These teachers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freire notes , In the banking concept of education, knowledge is a gift bestowed by those who
consider themselves knowledgeable upon those whom they consider to know nothing... they never
discover that they educate the teacher. He is claiming that the teachers display themselves as the only
fountain of knowledge in the classroom, creating oppression and disengagement towards the students
because they are led to believe that they can t make any contributions in the classroom. Freire also
states that having one educator results in narration sickness because the teacher talks about reality as if
it were motionless, static, compartmentalized, and predictable extracting the students from reality.
This narration sickness is Freire s problem with the banking concept because he believes it limits the
students in believing that they have the power to change their life and social

24. What Is the Current Laws Relating to the Implication of...
The current Victorian laws on the implication of the duty of good faith in commercial contracts run in
parallel with Commonwealth laws in this area. In both jurisdictions the law in respect to both the
scope and nature of the duty of good faith is relatively unsettled. Judicial and jurisdictional
discrepancies surrounding rulings on the duty of good faith is evident. This is the case even though the
High Court of Australia has acknowledged the existence and potential scope of the duty of good faith
as important issues It is yet to expressly consider the matter in detail . As such, debate in various
Australian authorities concerning the existence and content of the implied...duty of good faith and fair
dealing is commonplace. Each state s courts have delivered varying judgments on the scope,
interpretation and application of the implied duty of good faith in a commercial context. Victoria has
diverged most notably from the NSW interpretation whereby Victoria generally implies the duty of
good faith in fact rather than in law . Currently, there is much debate over what constitutes good faith .
However, both jurisdictions have tended to agree on the conflated nature of the concepts of the
implied terms of good faith and reasonableness and the obligation requiring parties to not act
capriciously . The courts also tend to share a reluctance to conclude that commercial contracts are of
the class which requires the universal implication of the duty of good faith . However,

The first type of media structure used by Disney that I will be talking about is vertical integration.
Vertical integration is where firms in a company are working at different stages but on the same
production path . For example Disney own Walt Disney studios, Sky walker sound, Disney digital post
and Touch stone pictures. All of these companies will work on the same production but only in the
area they are equipped for. For example the new Stars Wars film, Walt Disney studios will work on
recording the content where as Sky walker sound will work on the sound whilst the recording is going
on. This is very effective as it speeds up the process of production and it also means Disney can profit
from every aspect of making movies as Disney produce, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

made it the biggest merger ever. This was an unsuccessful merger as AOL based its model on dial up

years AOL had about $99 billion wiped off its value. In 2009 the companies were de merged
The advantages of merging with a company is you get shared power over the market, and also you
make profits from both companies so your money increases. The disadvantages of mergers are that
you will get a loss of experienced workers as one company already has one set of specific workers and
another company may have different people qualified for the same job so some people will get fired.

27. China s Devaluation Of Its Currency
China s devaluation of its currency has been causing headlines, but what are the effects on its tourism?
Are the Chinese likely to swap outbound tourism with inbound travel?
China s decision to devalue its currency in quick succession during the second week of August caused
headlines around the globe. The decision sent shockwaves, with the effects still unravelling today.
Tourism is among the industries feeling the heat. Will the weaker yuan mean the boom in China s
outbound tourism is over?
China s outbound tourism is on a strong footing. Over 100 million Chinese people made a trip abroad
last year. Data by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Chinese tourists increased their
spending by 27% to reach $165 million in 2014.
Much of the shopping spree and travel has been driven by the strength of the Chinese currency and the
increase in Chinese wealth. In Europe, the yuan had strengthened 15% against the euro since the start
of 2014. Now, some of this strength is gone. But is it enough to trouble outbound tourism?
Trouble for some
China s downward move to devalue was the biggest since the mass devaluation in 1994 and together
with the economic slowdown caused concern across many industries. The decision to devalue the
currency by 4% could mean long term wobble in the exchange rates, which could mean trouble for
tourists.
If Chinese tourists can expect less value for their yuan, they could start thinking twice about travelling
abroad. But the current devaluation is

29. Sexual Orientation Of Sexual Minority Health Essay
Relatively recent inclusion of sexual orientation measures in a few federal and state health
surveillance surveys is enabling the production of population based information about sexual minority
health and its status relative to that of the heterosexual majority.
Few studies have been adequately powered to investigate variability in health by sexual orientation, let
alone by orientation and other key social characteristics (e.g., gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic
status); yet research suggests heterogeneity in sexual minority health. Most research on sexual
minorities health in the United States has been led utilizing convenience samples. In spite of the fact
that the discoveries of this exploration have made huge commitments to the research, information
gathered from nonprobability tests have constrained access for general health planning as a result of
concerns with respect to determination predisposition and outer legitimacy. Populace based health
measurements assume a key part in illuminating the prioritization of general health and wellbeing
issues, and open interest in the health advancement movement.
Moderately late consideration of sexual orientation measures in a couple of government and state
wellbeing observation overviews is empowering the generation of populace based data about sexual
minority well being, and its status with respect to that of the heterosexual dominance. In spite of the
fact that the measure of sexual introductory information gathered with

30. Nancy Mairs Disability Analysis
If you saw a person in the mall in a wheelchair, would you judge them? Or would you look at them
like they are a normal human being? People who have a disability whether they are physically

year old woman with multiple sclerosis. She wrote an essay, Disability , that explained her views of
her physical disability. When I see a person with a disability, either physically or mentally, I end up
taking a second look. The first idea that pops in my head is what is wrong with the person. I know it
sounds very rude of me, but it is an instinct. Modern day society has shaped us to be weird around
others who have disabilities. It saddens me to see people in the world judge those who are disabled,

Although Esperanza faced many challenges as an immigrant, her hardest ones were when Esperanza

Here you try.¨ Miguel is showing Esperanza how to hold a broom and how to sweep, because she has

32. Taking a Look at Gang Violence
Many American families share similar stories of their loved ones being murdered by violent street
gang members. These victims often had nothing to do with the gangs or gang members that killed
them. A street gang is a group of people who commonly involve themselves in heinous crimes such as
murder, assault, drug dealing, robbery, and car theft. These gangs are present all over the nation and
are starting to spread to other countries. It is imperative for the United States government to put a stop
to gangs and gang violence. Ed Gottesman and Richard Brown agree that for a group to be considered
a gang it needs six key elements: a collection of individuals, the use of symbols, special forms of
communication, permanence, a sense of turf, and involvement in crime. Gottesman and Brown go on
to say, What distinguishes a gang from other groups is its involvement in crime, which is often heavy
and recognized as a key feature of membership. This means that all gangs are involved in crimes, the
number one reason why the United States needs to put a stop to gang violence. Gangs form for four
main reasons: a need for family and companionship, basic needs such as food, a higher social status or
appeal, and protection. When there is a large migration or immigration of people, gangs tend to
increase in size because there are more people looking for these four basic needs. During the 1950s to
the 1970s, gangs grew greatly in the four regions of the United States, the East, Midwest,

33. Troy Aikman Research Paper
One of the keys to the art of building a winner is finding the right personnel to fit your system.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett s offensive philosophy stems from his days as a backup
quarterback to Hall of Famer Troy Aikman. In the glory days of the 90s dynasty, Aikman had a
massive offensive line that featured tackles Mark Tuinei and Erik Williams, guards Nate Newton and
Kevin Gogan, and center Mark Stepnoski that gave Aikman enough time to get the football to his
outlets. What the maulers did best was pave the way for the great Emmitt Smith a physical all around

dominate with the same prowess Irvin took to the gridiron, and Terrance Williams (6 2, 208 lbs.)
opposite of Bryant with some similarities as Harper (can get up and get the ball). Notice the
comparison in size that Irvin and Harper had? Insert Brice Butler (6 3, 215 lbs.) and the Cowboys

34. Thin Layer Chromatography And Column Chromatography
Thin Layer Chromatography and Column Chromatography
By Maggi Shelton
Under the Supervision of Dr. Mills Chavonda
The Department of Chemistry and Physics
Milledgeville, GA 31061 Abstract:
Thin layer chromatography and column chromatography are two different methods that allow for the
separation of two miscible solvents. Through column chromatography, a mixture of nonpolar fluorine
and polar fluorenone was successfully separated. Thin layer chromatography was then used in order to
determine the success of the separation based upon the calculated Rf values, which if the Rf value fell
below zero or was above one, then the separation was not successful.
Introduction: Methods used to separate miscible solvents include thin layer chromatography (TLC) as
well as column chromatography. A method used to separate a mixture of miscible solvents is column
chromatography, which is used to purify and separate compounds. The particular speed of the solvents
used in the experiment depended upon the properties, being polar or nonpolar, as well as the properties
of the prepared column (INSERT SOURCE HERE). With column chromatography, there are two
phases that include mobile and stationary phases. In the experiment performed, the glass column used
was first packed with a piece of cotton followed by a layer of sand in order to keep the silica gel in
place and also to prevent the gel from flowing out of the tube when the particular solvent was added.
