Taking a look at Tourette Syndrome
Tourette syndrome (TS) is a disorder of the brain that is observed in people who have involuntary
movements or vocalizations called tics. Named after Dr. Georges Gilles de la Tourette who first
discovered this disorder, this French neurologist described a noblewoman who exhibited these
symptoms in 1885. These tics could range from repetitive movements to inappropriate vocalizations.
Early symptoms of Tourette syndrome occur in children at around 3 and 9 years and occur in equal
percentages in all ethnic groups. However, TS occurs more often in males than females with over
200,000 Americans having severe TS. The reason for this is because the syndrome is a dominant trait
genetically passed down on the X chromosome. Since males have only one X chromosome, they are
more likely to have it than females, specifically three times more likely. Even though TS is chronic,
most people who are diagnosed early can live a more improved lifestyle for the rest of their lives. The
first reported case of Tourette syndrome in history was in 1825, when Jean Gaspard Itard wrote about
French noblewoman Marquise de Dampierre in one of his journals. In one of his entries, he
documented a time when she uttered a lot of swear words in public, to the shock of all her friends and
family. After his writings, Madam Dampierre was rediscovered by Dr. George Gilles de la Tourette in
1885. This French neurologist described similar patients like the Madam Dampierre. His patients all
twitched wildly.

Landon Sound Devices
In the poem, the speaker is addressing her love to a man that took the wrong turn as he rejected her.
Her mourning was then silenced because the man then got rejected by another woman. She is feeling
happy because he rejected her and then all of a sudden he got rejected by the woman he left her(the
speaker) for.
In Revenge , Landon uses sound to convey her emotions by fusing certain sound devices with imagery
to create an emotional response for the reader.
To convey her emotions for her former love, Landon uses Alliteration, repeating the initial consonants
of a word, to create a satisfying influence and a smooth connection within the words in the line. For
instance, Landon says, wild and witching lay , with the repetition of the initial consonant, W. This
flattens out the line and helps with its fluidity, allowing the reader to have emphasis on key words.
Another way she uses sound to convey her emotions is by using another sound device, consonance,
the repetition of consonant sounds; a little like alliteration but it also includes the middle and end
consonants. An example of Landon using consonance is when she says, To live and love in vain , the
ve portion in live and love make this up. By using consonance, Landon ... Show more content on

Some may say that a rhyme or rhyme scheme is there just for the amusement and pleasure, to make it
more playful; however, both sound devices have significant impacts in the tone and meaning of the
poem. For instance, the last words of lines 1 and 3 rhyme with hair and air . In addition the rhyme
scheme of lines 1 5 have a pattern of ababc. Rhyme influences the poem because it corresponds
exactly with words, echoing the repetition and unifying the poem. The rhyme scheme of the poem is
used to control the speed and flow of the poem, keep the reader s attention, and help create the tension

Table of Contents {text:bookmark start} INTRODUCTION: {text:bookmark end} It is important for
organizations operating and competing at global level to understand how it fits into the external
environment that it operates in. The twenty first century has witnessed frequent fluctuations in these
international environment in which businesses operate which in turn has encouraged these businesses
to concentrate heavily on strategising the manner in which the company survives, grows, competes
and achieves its goals. The top management of these organizations take decisions with an ultimate

From the SWOT framework applied to SABMiller (see appendix 1) it is seen that the main strength of
SABMiller lies in its skills to succeed in developing markets like that of several African, European,
South American and Asian countries. This experience of handling and managing successful businesses
in emerging markets is a key internal capability that is a source of its competitive advantage. Also
from the list of strengths and weaknesses it can be observed that SABMiller s strengths in having a
geographically diversified business with its wide premium brand portfolio and strong supply chain
along with excellent operational productivity capabilities are countered by weaknesses as a result of
overemphasis on developing markets and premium brands. The external analysis reveals opportunities
in the developing economies and new markets like China, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and several
markets in Africa and Europe. But the significant number of threats in the external environment is a
critical area that SABMiller has a clear focus upon to minimise the

Sexual Exploitation Of Sex Advertising
Sexual exploitation is becoming more and more mainstream in advertisements. Everyone knows that
sex sells. Especially Carl s Jr. They have developed a reputation with their salacious ad campaigns,
often depicting women in very revealing attires. In their recent advertisement for the 2015 Super
Bowl, it features model Charlotte Mckinney where she is baring almost everything. There is more to
the commercial than just boobs and burgers. The use of Mckinney s body as a sexual object is
discriminating to all women and raises sexism. The stereotypical ad brings imparities between genders
and promotes gender policing. The attention grabbing, super sexy Au Naturel ad first starts off with
the model Mckinney, walking through a farmer s market practically naked while strategically placed
items are covering her private areas. She clearly has all the attention of the men at the market. She
walks by this one man with a spray hose and he completely turns around to catch a look of Mckinney,
who appears fully naked, being covered this time by the spraying water from the hose. She catches
another man s attention and is a shot of her bare back with a tomato shaped exactly like her behind,
perfectly covering just that. The man then pinches and grabs the side of the tomato. The shot after
shows her walking towards a scale where again, a man is perfectly barely covering her up by putting
two big melons on a scale to replace her breasts. The last and final shot is when she is walking

Wound Healing Case Study
Wound healing is an intricate process, whereas the skin may heal itself after an injury. At the time of
injury, the inflammatory phase begins and is noted as a significant time, because this process prepares
the wound environment for recovery. Since Mr. Jones laceration is five days old, suturing the
laceration may not be appropriate. The wound was not stitched and allowed to heal by primary
intention (first intention), because scarring is minimized during this process and no tissue loss is
noted. Mr. Jones wound will have to heal by primary intention. Cleaning the laceration daily and
applying a clean dressing will invoke healing. Since Mr. Jones will be a risk for infection, the
continuation of antibiotics will be beneficial. Mr. Jones ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) is a disease of the immune system caused by
HIV, which is a retrovirus that causes acute immunosuppression. HIV can produce an increase in fatal
diseases which includes wasting syndromes and central nervous system disintegration. People with
acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) develop opportunistic infections once the immune
system becomes severely compromised. A patient s CD4 T cell is directly related to the risk of
developing an opportunistic infection. Additionally, HIV most frequently infects CD4 cells. The CD4
cell count is a key gauge of the health of the immune system. CD4 levels lower than 200 will be at
risk for an opportunistic infection. .Patients with AIDS routinely receives a test called the CD4 test.
This blood test is taken to count several types of cells. Moreover, this test do not count CD4 cells, it is
a calculation based on total white blood cells and the proportion of cells that are CD4. The blood
sample is tested to count several types of cells. Interpretation of this test does not count the CD4 cells
directly. Instead, the laboratory makes an estimate based on total white blood cells and the percentage
of cells that are CD4. Therefore, the CD4 count is not exact. When the CD4 cells has gone down, it is
indicative of a weakened immune system. The lower the CD4 cells, the more probable the patient will
become sick. A patient loses the ability to fight infection when the CD4 cells have gone down. Once
the patient has lost the ability to fight off germs, an opportunistic infection such as pneumonia, skin
infections, oral disorders, diarrhea, AIDS related dementia, Kaposi sarcoma, and CNS disorders may
occur. Routinely patients are advised to check CD4 cells every three to six months when initiating
antiretroviral treatment and once levels has increased, test every six to twelve

The present study examines past research that looks at the effect of tDCS on learning and memory,
specifically the differences in novice compared to experienced learning.
Researchers Coffman, Trumbo, Flores, Garcia, Merwe, Wasserman, and Clark (2012) looked at how
tDCS affects performance when placed over the right inferior frontal cortex, and at different current
strengths. Differential effects in responses to stimuli were looked at which included varying by
repetition and target presence, differences related to expectancy, and individual differences in skin
stimulation and mood. Participants received training for 1 hour in a complex virtual environment with
the task of detecting hidden objects. Anodal tDCS was applied over the right inferior frontal cortex at
either 0.1 mA or 2.0 mA for the first 30 minutes of training, and participants were tested before,
immediately after, and 1 hour after training. It was found that participants who received the higher
current of tDCS had increased performance for all of the test stimuli, but performance was greatest for
repeated test stimuli with the presence of hidden targets. This study was replicated with a second set of
participants and the findings showed that the enhancement performance with tDCS is

The Healthcare Reform Act in Texas
The consequence of The Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act in Texas On June 28, 2012,
The Supreme Court ruled the Federal Government does not have the constitutional right to sanction an
individual to buy health insurance, but declared that the states do have the right to place a tax on
citizens that do not carry insurance. This ruling is in response to President Obama s Patient Protection
and Healthcare Act of 2010. Passed on March 23, 2010, President Obama s Reform Act mandates
Texas, as well as the nation, to provide Medicaid funding to all individuals that are uninsured by 2014.
As well as expanding Medicaid, it will provide exchanges, which are pools of insurance companies a
previously uninsured person can pick ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That mostly depends on our Presidential election in November. If a Republican wins office they could
option not to enforce the act or overturn it during Legislative session. As long as Governor Perry is in
office, there will be no expansion of Medicaid until at least 2014. Since, Governor Perry is not
expanding the Medicaid system, as a state will need to prepare for higher insurance premiums to cover
the costs that Medicaid does not. The state will need to revamp the state Medicaid system because our
population is rising higher than the cost of healthcare. As of December of 2011 total enrollment in
Medicaid was 3,652,591. This cost the state of Texas 12.8 billion dollars, paid for by our taxpayers. As
our state population increases it is estimated 1.2 million newly eligible Texans for Medicaid, and by
2019 it will cost the state and additional 5.3 billion in taxes (Texas Health and Human Services
Commission, 2012). Rick Perry told Fox news on July 8th, 2012 that Texas wouldn t be a part of
socializing healthcare, and the only solution to fixing Texas healthcare is to have the Federal
Government block grant the state funding to fix the healthcare options instead of giving a one size fits
all, cookie cutter solution (News, 2012). Even state Medicaid Chief, Billy Millwee supports Perry. In
an interview to The Texas Tribune he calls Medicaid,

A Case For Breach Of Agreement
At the point when the carrier acknowledges conveying risky goods, he acknowledges conveying the
danger. This does not mean the shipper will not be liable. When both parties know the nature of goods
and something goes wrong, the case resembles some other cargo case. If the shipper has told the
carrier of the hazardous nature of the load, the shipper cannot be absolved from risk in the event that
he is careless in satisfying obligations on his part and neglecting to take important precautions.
4.5 Extent of Liability
Hague/Hague Visby Rules Article IV/6 contains that ... the shipper of such goods shall be liable for all
damages and expenses directly or indirectly arising out of or resulting from such shipment... Does the
expression directly or indirectly subject to the shipper to a risk more than that which would apply on
account of a common case for harms for breach of agreement or for a legally binding indemnity? It is
battled that the words did not influence the operation of the customary standard that, without a
reasonable procurement in actuality, a man cannot uphold an indemnity where one of the viable
purposes of his misfortune is his own wrongful demonstration. The law has built up various principles
with the end goal of constraining harms for breach of agreement. As needs be, no misfortune might be
recuperated by a method for harms on the off chance that it is an excessively remote result of the
breach. In contracts, the test of remoteness is whether the

Central High School Integration Case Study
While researching the integration of Central High School, I discovered many events that led to the
desegregation of public areas. These events all occurred prior to 1957 and have somehow contributed
to the integration of schools in the United States, including Central High. While searching through the
internet I found several websites that contained timelines and archives of that era. This content shed
light on the effects of segregation and the causes of integration. One thing that the sources did not
cover is if similar situations are occurring today. My goal of this paper is to analyze the causes of the
integration of Central High and determine if the knowledge of integration can help us resolve or
prevent current world problems. I will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for the ratification of the 14th amendment, it is a political factor that changed the social
relationships within the United States by administering a government policy. Because the south was
required by the Reconstruction Act of 1867 to accept the new amendment in order to readmit to the
union, they were forced to change their views of freed slaves and allow them to have equal rights. This
new politically administered factor then caused the population to view each race as equals and allow
them to have equal education opportunities. The Jim Crow Laws can be seen as a sociological factor
because segregation is a social relation. The more they segregated themselves by race, the more their
behavior and attitudes towards each other changed. As one race began to feel superior to the others, a
changed had to be made. This was the basis for the Civil Rights Movement. Meanwhile, the Brown vs.
Board case can be interpreted as a cultural factor. A community came together to justify what they
believed was a right and just principle. Just as Mr. Brown once said culture exists in order to project
the infantile fantasies into external reality, where they may be seen and mastered (Brown). This
community had a common belief and stood by it through it all creating their own cultural

Similarities And Similarities Between Francis Bacon And...
The personal lives of great artists are often the most tragic; neglectful parents, drug addictions, failed
relationships, and mental instability seem to the most common tropes. The British painter Francis
Bacon and Anna Kavan, born as Helen Woods, are no exception. The similarities between their
personal lives and artistic creations are striking. Both had the misfortune of neglectful parents, both
moved from country to country throughout their lives, both were addicted to either heroin or alcohol,
but both created gruesome and masterful works of art. Anna Kavan s mother was detached and
negligent. Both of Kavan s two marriages failed. She became addicted to heroin in her twenties as a
way to self medicate for her depression. She spent time in insane asylums towards the end of her life.
Francis Bacon s parents were far from caring; his father exiled him after Bacon expressed his
homosexuality. After being entrusted to the care of a family friend, he fell in love with the older man
that whisked him around the European continent. He began painting after seeing an exhibit of Pablo
Picasso s work and took many years to find success with this trade. Often he resorted to alcohol and
held private, and very illegal, gambling clubs to make a sort of income. He entered an extremely
mentally and physically abusive relationship. These adversities from personal lives influenced the
work of both individuals to a tremendous degree. Characters in Kavan s stories are frequently a kind
of autobiography Anna Kavan was one of her character s names that Helen Woods eventually adopted
after a mental breakdown. Francis Bacon s work pictured many of his acquaintance and lovers, scenes
of homosexuality, and scenes of pain. Understanding the individual s personal circumstances adds a
new layer of meaning and interpretation to their creations. A most encompassing comparison of the
two individuals is that they both produced works of cosmic horror; however, it is not entirely the
typical Lovecraftian horror associated with the genre. Bacon s paintings as visual experiences are
quite unlike other works considered to be cosmic horror; however, their unconventionality does not
exclude them. Rather than focusing on the fear of the

History Of Physical Fitness And Exercise
The history of physical fitness and exercise. Physical exercise goes farther back than most people
realize. People wouldn t have thought of it as working out, but rather as a way of life. Centuries ago
they did not have the machines and weights we have today, but yet people of that day were in better
shape than the people of today. Physical development followed a natural path that was determined by
the practical needs of life as well as the need to avoid threats and take advantage of opportunities for
survival. To survive in a harsh environment filled with obstacles and human enemies, early man had to
know how to run, walk, balance, jump, crawl, climb, lift, carry, throw and catch, and fight. Early man

The Romans believed in having a sound mind, in a sound body. Physical culture started to rise beyond
the bare necessities to become a means of an art de vivre.
From the 5th century to the 15th century, the teachings of Christianity spread the belief that the
primary concern of one s lifetime was preparing for the afterlife. The body was seen as sinful and not
important. Education was significantly linked to the church, and focused on training the mind rather
than training the body. During the Renaissance Era there was a greater interest in the body, anatomy,
biology, health, and physical education.
In 1553 Spaniard Cristobal Mendez wrote El Libro del Corporal y Sus Provechos, the first book to
explain physical exercise and its benefits. In Mendez s book exercise, games, and sports are all
analyzed and described from a medical standpoint, and informs on how to prevent and recover from
injuries.
In 1569 Mercurialis, and Italian physician, wrote De Arte Gymnastica. The book touched on the
ancient Greeks and Romans approach on hygiene, diet, and exercise, and their methods on treatments
for disease. The book included principles of physical therapy for the first time, and considered the first
book on sports medicine, which influenced a wave of physical education and training methods that
came to be in Europe two centuries later.
In the early 19th century the rise of nationalism of many countries in Europe

Being A Successful Basketball Player
Being a Successful Basketball Player As a child growing up sports has been a part of my life. There
are many different sports that an athlete can play like basketball, baseball, and football. Basketball is
one of my favorite sports and is also one of the highly paid sports of all time. There are three
personality traits that make a successful basketball player. Those traits are determination, leadership,
and sportsmanship. Determination is one of the main keys in being a successful basketball player. My
definition of determination is someone who never gives up on anything in life. Michael Jordan was
sick with the flu one night before a game. He still had determination to play in the NBA game that
night with the flu. Another example of determination is when Stephen Curry was down three games in
the NBA series, and he had determination to come back and win the NBA title two years in a row.

Perception Of Blind And Fair Justice
Despite the appealing notion of blind and fair justice, many question the existence of this ideal in
reality and rightly so. Many of the challenges to law s claim of impartiality concern the influence of
social characteristics such as race or sex when they should be irrelevant. Marc Galanter introduces a
more structural argument, related to the frequency with which one litigates, bringing disputes before a
court. Galanter claims that those who regularly engage in similar litigation, whom he labels repeat
players (RPs) have multiple advantages over one shotters (OSs), who rarely enter the forum of law,
where courts interpret and apply official rules to settle disputes, in their ability to achieve desired legal
outcomes. The fact that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though not all repeat players are necessarily society s haves some of the residents of the urban
neighborhood studied by Sally Engle Merry are examples of exceptions in American society, most are.
One often thinks of haves and have nots in terms of material differences, but where Galanter adds the
most value to the discussion of inequality is his explanation of the more dynamic advantages that
come from more frequent legal engagement and which continually reinforce this inequality.
Part of Galanter s project in identifying the mechanism behind systematic biases in the courts is his
desire to prescribe potential avenues for reform. It is not only important to recognize that the haves
come out ahead but also why they do. Though he does discuss tangible differences in resources,
including access to specialized knowledge, those factors alone can miss the less tangible benefits that
certain parties enjoy. For example, due to their ongoing contact with the court, RPs uniquely have the
opportunity to become more embedded in the community of legal actors and build social capital
through these informal relationships. Though Eisenstein, Flemming, and Nardulli specifically study
county criminal courts in their study, their observations of the unique cultures of court communities
can extend to the forum of law more broadly. They note that membership in such a community allows
for trust to be established and credit to be built.

Persuasive Essay On Visit To College
No matter what grade you re in, campus visits in any form are beneficial. A camp at the university or
college, a campus event, or your usual campus visit are all great ways to experience the place you re
considering calling home for your college years. My mom had some great advice in this process for
me which was what helped keep my somewhat levelheaded during the college decision process.
Don t wait until senior year to do your visits
This is a sure way to be incredibly stressed out. Amongst all the efforts to survive the year, don t put
yourself in the situation of making a four hour trip one way to visit a campus. It s a huge mistake.
My mom got onto me about this. She was excited for me to be preparing for this next adventure in my
life, but she and I had to coordinate schedules to make four or five hour drives over the course of a
day or a weekend.
With two of my visits, we drove down on Saturday, spent the night, did some seeing around town
(mostly involving food) on Sunday, and visited the campus on Monday in the morning so we could
drive back home on Monday. Make the most of your trip to the campus, especially if it s farther away
from home. Find a couple places to check out or make your study home while you re in school.

Literary Analysis Of Pablo Picasso s Guernica
Julius Byla

English 101
10/22/17
Picasso s Guernica Throughout time paintings have been used to record events, communicate ideas or
evoke an emotional response. Pablo Picasso s painting Guernica does just this. Guernica was created
to bring attention to the Nazi bombing of the town of Guernica, Spain during the Spanish civil war in
the second half of the 1930s. Its exhibition was used to provide relief and a call against the horrors of
war. Through its visual elements and symbolic concepts, Guernica depicts the chaos and aftermath of
the bombing of the city and the need to bring about change over the tragedies of war. Standing at a
massive seven feet by twenty five feet, this black and white painting depicts a massacre of the
bombing of the town of Guernica. The composition of the work is a dimly lit space, the only light
coming from an eye shaped light at center top of the painting and a woman holding a lantern next to it.
From left to right, the scene contains a screaming bull beneath it a woman holding a dead child. In the
center there is a mangled horse pierced by spear and below it, the mangled body of a fallen soldier. To
the right are three women, one crawling towards the light, above her is a woman leaning out of a
window holding a lit lantern and the other screaming while falling from a burning building. Guernica
captures the brutal chaos of the bombing with its physical action and intended symbolism. Being black
and white, the painting represents the somber

Benefits Of Veganism And Vegetarianism
Veganism and Vegetarianism
Veganism and vegetarianism are widespread trends that have been gaining attention rapidly all around
the world. For some people, they are only a diet. On the other hand, for others, they are a lifestyle.
Veganism and Vegetarianism are both diverse diets that can affect the human body and environment in
different ways. Veganism is a lifestyle that excludes any use of animal products, such as meats, dairy,
leather, etc. The main purpose of veganism is to not support animal exploitation, thus not support
animal cruelty. However, many people can also turn to veganism as a diet. Veganism proves to be
beneficial for what a substantial amount of people desire, weight loss. Weight loss is usually greater

These causes are discussed in detail as follows; Agriculture; One of the biggest drivers of
deforestation is agriculture.
Few vegans believe that everyone should become vegan to help cure the world in ways where we do
not have to promote acts such as deforestation, and do not have to continue killing animals for our
own desires. However, the majority of vegans are satisfied with their own actions, knowing that they
can make a difference on their own. On the contrary, vegetarianism is a not as strict of a diet as
veganism, much less a lifestyle. Many vegetarians choose this lifestyle because they are attempting to
fix their health, want to take part in saving animals, or simply do not like the taste of meat. In a way,
vegetarianism is a healthier diet than veganism, even though vegetarians wouldn t be losing pounds
quite as fast. Vegetarians are least likely to become nutrient deficient, which is a problem with
veganism. Because veganism is so strict, it is hard to chose the right substitutes to eat in order to get
all the nutrients you need. On the other hand, vegetarians are

Why Russia Ukraine crisis was caused by Russia s attempt to protect its economy and sovereignty.
The topic of international relations has been gaining significance in the modern world following the
increase in the popularity of globalization and the need for peaceful coexistence between nations. The

However, Russia refused to acknowledge the new leadership stating that it came into power through
unconstitutional means and armed insurrection. This was cited as the major excuse for Russia to
deploy troops in Crimea to protect the majority Russian residents from extreme right forces. The two
countries, Russia and Ukraine, had different reactions towards the armed violence and impeachment
of the Ukrainian president. Although the majority of the Ukrainians opposed Viktor s decision to
procrastinate the signing the EU Ukraine integration agreement, all the ex presidents accused for its
interference with the affairs of Crimean. The former presidents of Ukraine, including Leonid
Kravchuk and Leonid Kuchma described the present crisis as Russia s political interventions designed
to interfere with the internal affairs of Ukraine and its relationship with the European Union
(Hanschke 1). The people of Crimea have not been seeking for secession from Ukraine, but their
interest is to have extended autonomy and rights to govern the Crimean affairs with minimum
involvement of the government of Ukraine. Russia, on the other hand, have dismissed the accusation
and stated that it is pursuing the interest of the people of Crimea to join the Federation of Russia.
Russia holds that the people of Crimea have the power to decide the future of their territory and
Russia will be ready to respect their decision. Study shows that about 90

The Basics of Toilet Training Essay
The process of toilet training may be considered the most challenging process that parents encounter
with their child during the early stages of his or life. Toilet training can be described as an
individualized developmental process that all children will progress at their own developmental pace
and temperament, not the child s chronological age. Toilet training should be a natural result of the
child s developmental readiness. Therefore the primary goal can only be achieved when the child is
ready and willing. Just like any learning process for a child, including toilet training, it effects the
development of the whole child and it is important that the child has the necessary physical, social,
emotional, and cognitive skills to begin. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the toilet training process, a child must obtain body awareness and be able to associate bodily
sensation to the result that follows, poop or pee. Then after he masters that skill he must acquire the
certain skills that will allow him to picture what he wants to do (use the toilet), create a plan to get
here, begin using it, and remain in place long enough to finish, which requires both memory and
concentration (Wolraich 26). The next and probably most difficult readiness sign a parent must
recognize before starting the toilet training process is emotional growth.
There are many emotional issues that can greatly affect toilet training that include a eagerness for
independence, a child s need for control, testing of rules and limits, desire to win parents approval, and
fears of toilet use. If a child resists the idea of using the toilet when mentioned he may be experiencing
an emotional issue and the parent should wait for a better time to follow through with the process. If
the child is continually repeating signs of resistance a parent may want to rethink if it is too soon to
begin the process and understand that the child may be going through a major change in the his life
that is creating stress. Parents should know that it is not the best time to toilet train when a new baby is
expected soon or has recently arrived, the family has newly moved, the child has just

Selfhood In Charles Chesnutt s The Wife Of His Youth
Charles Chesnutt believes that the journey from freedom to selfhood is impossible for an individual to
complete without the willingness to accept one s own past. In the story, The Wife of His Youth,
Chesnutt uses Mr. Ryder to demonstrate the complexities involved in improving selfhood. Mr. Ryder
must decide whether to acknowledge his wife, Lisa Jane, and damage the image of himself he worked
so hard to create or to willfully ignore his past and lie to himself, but keep his reputation intact. Mr.
Ryder ultimately makes the choice to stop hiding from his past, and he reveals Lisa as his wife.
Chesnutt wants other people of mixed blood to follow Mr. Ryder s example and acknowledge their
pasts as well. He believes that is the only way to successfully move forward in life and advance
selfhood.

When your mind is in the delta frequency, you have increased immune function as well as put out
chemicals that have a deep renewing benefit to your body.
But the delta brainwave state of mind is only achieved when we are in deep, restful sleep. So, if you
have pain, which leads to insomnia, which leads to decreased sleep, which leads to less delta time for
the brain, you are in a downward spiral.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
1. Find a good brainwave entrainment audio that puts your brain down into at least 2.5 Hz for 20 30
minutes.
2. Set aside 30 45 minutes a day to listen to a brainwave meditation audio that puts you into the delta
frequency. The best time to listen to it would be as you go to sleep at night.
3. Give yourself time to reap the benefits of this pain management technique. Your body has its own
rhythm for healing, so give yourself time to develop your body s reserves to renew itself and feel good
again.
SUMMARY: Meditation for pain relief has been scientifically proven to work. Using a brainwave
entrainment meditation to put your brain into the appropriate brain frequency to achieve these results
gives you one of the best types of meditation to use to get started right away and to keep going
because you can meditate your pain away while you

My Culture And Culture
Age In my culture depending on how old you are is how others in the family will treat you. For
example elders such as our abuelitos are the ones that get the most respect. We treat them with great
respect and love since they are much wiser and in some cases are the ones who will defend you from
your parents. The little kids are over protected especially by moms. Wherever they go they have to be
accompanied by someone older than them. Once you start hitting the adolescence age or the pre adult
age is when you start getting more trust and responsibility from the other adults. Gender Gender for
me is unfair in my culture. If you are born a girl you will be much more protected than the boys. For
example my brother can go wherever he likes at whatever time he likes and with whoever he wants,
but for me I can not do that. I often ask my parents why that is and their answer is because you are a
girl and you face more dangers than a guy would. I understand this and this is sadly true, girls do face
much more risks than guys do, but I still think it s unfair. Girls should be able to go out just like any
guy would. Religion Religion for me is very important. Since I was a little girl my parents have taught
me to be religious. Religion for me is to have faith that everything will be alright and that God has a
purpose for all of us. I have been Baptized into the Catholic church and have done all the sacraments
required, such as my First Communion and Confirmation.

Milk Fat Experiment
Title: What was the Effect of Temperature on Butter Yield?
Purpose:
The purpose was to determine if temperature has a direct effect on the formation of milk fat, and
whether or not it effected the yield.
Background Information:
Milk Fat, more commonly known as butter, is comprised of different fats, specifically triglycerides.
When using organic, unpasteurized milk, one will notice after sitting stagnant for a number of hours,
the milk will start to separate within itself, with clumps of fat collecting at the bottom. This is because
milk is an emulsion. An emulsion is a suspension two liquids within each other that would not
naturally mix. (Kitchn, 2008) Another example of an emulsion is water in oil. These liquids can be
physically mixed together, with a spoon or utensil, and they will appear mixed, but overtime they will
resume their separated state. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This works through creating a weak chemical bond between the butter and water, thus keeping the
milk well homogenized. However, this chemical bond can easily be broken through agitation to the
solution, like shaking, or stirring.
When making butter, Heavy Cream is shaken or stirred until a solid precipitate is formed. The solid
precipitate is the butter, and the liquid is the butter milk. Through physical agitation, the chemical
bonds that the emulsion agent added to the mixture, has been broken, and the fat and water have
separated, which results in butter.
This separation occurs due to physical force is being exerted onto the phospholipid layer that
surrounds the triglycerides. Through the physical agitation, the phospholipid layer begins to break
apart, and it causes the triglycerides to bond together, which creates a solid mass of fat, which we refer
to as

Stereotypes In Smoke Signals
Smoke Signals is one of the most touching films of the 1990 s, based on Sherman Alexie s short story,
This Is What It Means to Say Phoenix, Arizona. Although it is not a standard Western film, but one
can learn much about American Indians life as it is a film created and acted by them. The indigenous
characters of the film are not represented as the typical Western film s American Indians, but the story
represents indigenous life in a natural way, and gives a contemporary image to the viewer of them as
the new generation American Indians, who grew up in Native American boarding schools, speak the
English language well, and white people started to convert them into the Christian religion. The well
known stereotypes about their roots and lifestyle appear in a hidden, humorous way with the help of
symbols that usually refers to their past; and do not appear in an easy, clear way, as it is hard to

as cross contamination. Avoiding all contact is the best way to avoid a reaction. According to FAAN,
There appears to be no cross reactivity between fish and shellfish, but an individual can be allergic to

Newton s Laws of Motion
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same
speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force (Newton s First Law).
To determine if a person should run or walk, you will have to understand the Second Law of
Motion. The second law states that force equals mass times acceleration. In order for a person
of a certain mass to accelerate, that person must use some force, so the force must overcome
gravity, friction, and be larger than the mass of the person trying to move (Newton s Second Law
of Motion). If you want to walk or run you will need a bigger force (¶ 4). To walk is not as hard
as running, so less force is needed to succeed in doing it (Forester). This leads us to the third law
of motion, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction (Newton s Third Law).
Another concept of Physics is moving water. For example, flushing the toilet, waterfalls
and dams. Flushing a toilet is a great example of transferring energy. Usually on most toilets
there is tan on the back of it filled with water. Water that is stored is a great example of potential
energy and no kinetic energy. Once toilet is flushed, it gives the water momentum. From
waterfalls and dams we can produce hydropower. It is a renewable energy source that converts
kinetic energy from falling water into electricity. From the water momentum pushes against the

Essay on Causes of the American Revolution
On July 2, 1776, the second continental congress voted that the American Colonies were free from
British influence. (Danzer,102) On July 4, two days later, they adopted the Declaration of
Independence. These two events would begin what would become one of, if not the most important
events in American History. It began the war of Independence, when America won its right to be free.
There were many causes for the American Revolution. However most of them stemmed from paying
for the French Indian War. After the war, in 1763, the British began to feel the strain that often follows
the war.(Langley, 14) To raise money Parliament passed the stamp act in 1965, which required the

The American Revolution began in a small Massachusetts town called Lexington. The governor of
Massachusetts, Thomas Gage, learned that the Militia was stockpiling weapons, gunpowder,
ammunition and other supplies. He ordered his troops to march on Lexington to confiscate the
supplies. On April 19, 1765 a force of 700 British troops faced 70 minute men lined up on the green.
The fighting was done in 15 minutes. 1 British soldier was injured and 8 minutemen were killed, 9
wounded. Gage did not find any supplies stockpiled however. On the march back, 3,000 4,000
colonials fired on the British, killing them by the dozens. Only reinforcements arriving from Boston
stopped it from becoming a complete disaster. (Danzer, 98)

Over exercising and the effects on the heart disease and links to cognitive ability
The capacity to mentally process, reason, perceive, plan, understand and learn is called cognition. It is
important as it help us understand the world and people around us. It is the ability to interpret and
comprehend sensory information by transforming, storing and recovering the said data ( (Neisser,
1976). Many studies have been conducted to explore the different factors that could decrease or
increase cognition. Some of the factors include sleep, stress, socioeconomic status (SES), and physical
activity.
Regular exercise is believed to have a huge impact in increasing cognitive ability in individuals. The
link between of chronic physical activity and oxygenated haemoglobin in the anterior frontal gyrus of
52 healthy young women was studied (Cameron et al., 2015). The participants were split into groups

Bell Curve Grading
Bell Curve Scoring Whenever you hear the phrase graded on a curve the class splits into two types of
people: the confident and the terribly stressed. In my school, there is an established grading scale
meaning whatever score an individual gets on an assignment is comparable to a rubric and gets a score
based on his sole abilities. Grading on a curve is a bit different. This grading method calculates the
average grade and determines how each student compared to the average. Bell curve grading doesn t
measure how much of the material a student retained, per say, but instead, how much more (or less)

and harsh of a method of grading. There are many greater ways to help a student s grade, such as

  • 2. Taking a look at Tourette Syndrome Tourette syndrome (TS) is a disorder of the brain that is observed in people who have involuntary movements or vocalizations called tics. Named after Dr. Georges Gilles de la Tourette who first discovered this disorder, this French neurologist described a noblewoman who exhibited these symptoms in 1885. These tics could range from repetitive movements to inappropriate vocalizations. Early symptoms of Tourette syndrome occur in children at around 3 and 9 years and occur in equal percentages in all ethnic groups. However, TS occurs more often in males than females with over 200,000 Americans having severe TS. The reason for this is because the syndrome is a dominant trait genetically passed down on the X chromosome. Since males have only one X chromosome, they are more likely to have it than females, specifically three times more likely. Even though TS is chronic, most people who are diagnosed early can live a more improved lifestyle for the rest of their lives. The first reported case of Tourette syndrome in history was in 1825, when Jean Gaspard Itard wrote about French noblewoman Marquise de Dampierre in one of his journals. In one of his entries, he documented a time when she uttered a lot of swear words in public, to the shock of all her friends and family. After his writings, Madam Dampierre was rediscovered by Dr. George Gilles de la Tourette in 1885. This French neurologist described similar patients like the Madam Dampierre. His patients all twitched wildly. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Landon Sound Devices In the poem, the speaker is addressing her love to a man that took the wrong turn as he rejected her. Her mourning was then silenced because the man then got rejected by another woman. She is feeling happy because he rejected her and then all of a sudden he got rejected by the woman he left her(the speaker) for. In Revenge , Landon uses sound to convey her emotions by fusing certain sound devices with imagery to create an emotional response for the reader. To convey her emotions for her former love, Landon uses Alliteration, repeating the initial consonants of a word, to create a satisfying influence and a smooth connection within the words in the line. For instance, Landon says, wild and witching lay , with the repetition of the initial consonant, W. This flattens out the line and helps with its fluidity, allowing the reader to have emphasis on key words. Another way she uses sound to convey her emotions is by using another sound device, consonance, the repetition of consonant sounds; a little like alliteration but it also includes the middle and end consonants. An example of Landon using consonance is when she says, To live and love in vain , the ve portion in live and love make this up. By using consonance, Landon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some may say that a rhyme or rhyme scheme is there just for the amusement and pleasure, to make it more playful; however, both sound devices have significant impacts in the tone and meaning of the poem. For instance, the last words of lines 1 and 3 rhyme with hair and air . In addition the rhyme scheme of lines 1 5 have a pattern of ababc. Rhyme influences the poem because it corresponds exactly with words, echoing the repetition and unifying the poem. The rhyme scheme of the poem is used to control the speed and flow of the poem, keep the reader s attention, and help create the tension in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the SWOT framework applied to SABMiller (see appendix 1) it is seen that the main strength of SABMiller lies in its skills to succeed in developing markets like that of several African, European, South American and Asian countries. Also from the list of strengths and weaknesses it can be observed that SABMiller s strengths in having a geographically diversified business with its wide premium brand portfolio and strong supply chain along with excellent operational productivity capabilities are countered by weaknesses as a result of overemphasis on developing markets and premium brands. • 5. Sexual Exploitation Of Sex Advertising Sexual exploitation is becoming more and more mainstream in advertisements. Everyone knows that sex sells. Especially Carl s Jr. They have developed a reputation with their salacious ad campaigns, often depicting women in very revealing attires. In their recent advertisement for the 2015 Super Bowl, it features model Charlotte Mckinney where she is baring almost everything. There is more to the commercial than just boobs and burgers. The use of Mckinney s body as a sexual object is discriminating to all women and raises sexism. The stereotypical ad brings imparities between genders and promotes gender policing. The attention grabbing, super sexy Au Naturel ad first starts off with the model Mckinney, walking through a farmer s market practically naked while strategically placed items are covering her private areas. She clearly has all the attention of the men at the market. She walks by this one man with a spray hose and he completely turns around to catch a look of Mckinney, who appears fully naked, being covered this time by the spraying water from the hose. She catches another man s attention and is a shot of her bare back with a tomato shaped exactly like her behind, perfectly covering just that. The man then pinches and grabs the side of the tomato. The shot after shows her walking towards a scale where again, a man is perfectly barely covering her up by putting two big melons on a scale to replace her breasts. The last and final shot is when she is walking towards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Wound Healing Case Study Wound healing is an intricate process, whereas the skin may heal itself after an injury. At the time of injury, the inflammatory phase begins and is noted as a significant time, because this process prepares the wound environment for recovery. Since Mr. Jones laceration is five days old, suturing the laceration may not be appropriate. Since AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) is a disease of the immune system caused by HIV, which is a retrovirus that causes acute immunosuppression. HIV can produce an increase in fatal diseases which includes wasting syndromes and central nervous system disintegration. People with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) develop opportunistic infections once the immune system becomes severely compromised. A patient s CD4 T cell is directly related to the risk of developing an opportunistic infection. Additionally, HIV most frequently infects CD4 cells. The CD4 cell count is a key gauge of the health of the immune system. CD4 levels lower than 200 will be at risk for an opportunistic infection. .Patients with AIDS routinely receives a test called the CD4 test. This blood test is taken to count several types of cells. Moreover, this test do not count CD4 cells, it is a calculation based on total white blood cells and the proportion of cells that are CD4. The blood sample is tested to count several types of cells. Interpretation of this test does not count the CD4 cells directly. Instead, the laboratory makes an estimate based on total white blood cells and the percentage of cells that are CD4. Therefore, the CD4 count is not exact. When the CD4 cells has gone down, it is indicative of a weakened immune system. The lower the CD4 cells, the more probable the patient will become sick. A patient loses the ability to fight infection when the CD4 cells have gone down. Once the patient has lost the ability to fight off germs, an opportunistic infection such as pneumonia, skin infections, oral disorders, diarrhea, AIDS related dementia, Kaposi sarcoma, and CNS disorders may occur. The present study examines past research that looks at the effect of tDCS on learning and memory, specifically the differences in novice compared to experienced learning. Researchers Coffman, Trumbo, Flores, Garcia, Merwe, Wasserman, and Clark (2012) looked at how tDCS affects performance when placed over the right inferior frontal cortex, and at different current strengths. Differential effects in responses to stimuli were looked at which included varying by repetition and target presence, differences related to expectancy, and individual differences in skin stimulation and mood. Participants received training for 1 hour in a complex virtual environment with the task of detecting hidden objects. Anodal tDCS was applied over the right inferior frontal cortex at either 0.1 mA or 2.0 mA for the first 30 minutes of training, and participants were tested before, immediately after, and 1 hour after training. It was found that participants who received the higher current of tDCS had increased performance for all of the test stimuli, but performance was greatest for repeated test stimuli with the presence of hidden targets. This ruling is in response to President Obama s Patient Protection and Healthcare Act of 2010. As long as Governor Perry is in office, there will be no expansion of Medicaid until at least 2014. Since, Governor Perry is not expanding the Medicaid system, as a state will need to prepare for higher insurance premiums to cover the costs that Medicaid does not. The state will need to revamp the state Medicaid system because our population is rising higher than the cost of healthcare. As of December of 2011 total enrollment in Medicaid was 3,652,591. This cost the state of Texas 12.8 billion dollars, paid for by our taxpayers. As our state population increases it is estimated 1.2 million newly eligible Texans for Medicaid, and by 2019 it will cost the state and additional 5.3 billion in taxes (Texas Health and Human Services Commission, 2012). Rick Perry told Fox news on July 8th, 2012 that Texas wouldn t be a part of socializing healthcare, and the only solution to fixing Texas healthcare is to have the Federal Government block grant the state funding to fix the healthcare options instead of giving a one size fits all, cookie cutter solution (News, 2012). As for the ratification of the 14th amendment, it is a political factor that changed the social relationships within the United States by administering a government policy. Because the south was required by the Reconstruction Act of 1867 to accept the new amendment in order to readmit to the union, they were forced to change their views of freed slaves and allow them to have equal rights. This new politically administered factor then caused the population to view each race as equals and allow them to have equal education opportunities. The Jim Crow Laws can be seen as a sociological factor because segregation is a social relation. • 14. Similarities And Similarities Between Francis Bacon And... The personal lives of great artists are often the most tragic; neglectful parents, drug addictions, failed relationships, and mental instability seem to the most common tropes. The British painter Francis Bacon and Anna Kavan, born as Helen Woods, are no exception. The similarities between their personal lives and artistic creations are striking. Both had the misfortune of neglectful parents, both moved from country to country throughout their lives, both were addicted to either heroin or alcohol, but both created gruesome and masterful works of art. Anna Kavan s mother was detached and negligent. Both of Kavan s two marriages failed. She became addicted to heroin in her twenties as a way to self medicate for her depression. She spent time in insane asylums towards the end of her life. Francis Bacon s parents were far from caring; his father exiled him after Bacon expressed his homosexuality. After being entrusted to the care of a family friend, he fell in love with the older man that whisked him around the European continent. He began painting after seeing an exhibit of Pablo Picasso s work and took many years to find success with this trade. Often he resorted to alcohol and held private, and very illegal, gambling clubs to make a sort of income. He entered an extremely mentally and physically abusive relationship. These adversities from personal lives influenced the work of both individuals to a tremendous degree. Characters in Kavan s stories are frequently a kind of autobiography Anna Kavan was one of her character s names that Helen Woods eventually adopted after a mental breakdown. Francis Bacon s work pictured many of his acquaintance and lovers, scenes of homosexuality, and scenes of pain. Understanding the individual s personal circumstances adds a new layer of meaning and interpretation to their creations. A most encompassing comparison of the two individuals is that they both produced works of cosmic horror; however, it is not entirely the typical Lovecraftian horror associated with the genre. Bacon s paintings as visual experiences are quite unlike other works considered to be cosmic horror; however, their unconventionality does not exclude them. Many of the challenges to law s claim of impartiality concern the influence of social characteristics such as race or sex when they should be irrelevant. Galanter claims that those who regularly engage in similar litigation, whom he labels repeat players (RPs) have multiple advantages over one shotters (OSs), who rarely enter the forum of law, where courts interpret and apply official rules to settle disputes, in their ability to achieve desired legal outcomes. Part of Galanter s project in identifying the mechanism behind systematic biases in the courts is his desire to prescribe potential avenues for reform. It is not only important to recognize that the haves come out ahead but also why they do. Though he does discuss tangible differences in resources, including access to specialized knowledge, those factors alone can miss the less tangible benefits that certain parties enjoy. For example, due to their ongoing contact with the court, RPs uniquely have the opportunity to become more embedded in the community of legal actors and build social capital through these informal relationships. Though Eisenstein, Flemming, and Nardulli specifically study county criminal courts in their study, their observations of the unique cultures of court communities can extend to the forum of law more broadly. Guernica was created to bring attention to the Nazi bombing of the town of Guernica, Spain during the Spanish civil war in the second half of the 1930s. Its exhibition was used to provide relief and a call against the horrors of war. Through its visual elements and symbolic concepts, Guernica depicts the chaos and aftermath of the bombing of the city and the need to bring about change over the tragedies of war. Standing at a massive seven feet by twenty five feet, this black and white painting depicts a massacre of the bombing of the town of Guernica. The composition of the work is a dimly lit space, the only light coming from an eye shaped light at center top of the painting and a woman holding a lantern next to it. From left to right, the scene contains a screaming bull beneath it a woman holding a dead child. In the center there is a mangled horse pierced by spear and below it, the mangled body of a fallen soldier. To the right are three women, one crawling towards the light, above her is a woman leaning out of a window holding a lit lantern and the other screaming while falling from a burning building. The next and probably most difficult readiness sign a parent must recognize before starting the toilet training process is emotional growth. There are many emotional issues that can greatly affect toilet training that include a eagerness for independence, a child s need for control, testing of rules and limits, desire to win parents approval, and fears of toilet use. If a child resists the idea of using the toilet when mentioned he may be experiencing an emotional issue and the parent should wait for a better time to follow through with the process. If the child is continually repeating signs of resistance a parent may want to rethink if it is too soon to begin the process and understand that the child may be going through a major change in the his life that is creating stress. Parents should know that it is not the best time to toilet train when a new baby is expected soon or has recently arrived, the family has newly moved, the child has just ... • 31. My Culture And Culture Age In my culture depending on how old you are is how others in the family will treat you. For example elders such as our abuelitos are the ones that get the most respect. We treat them with great respect and love since they are much wiser and in some cases are the ones who will defend you from your parents. The little kids are over protected especially by moms. Wherever they go they have to be accompanied by someone older than them. Once you start hitting the adolescence age or the pre adult age is when you start getting more trust and responsibility from the other adults. Gender Gender for me is unfair in my culture. If you are born a girl you will be much more protected than the boys. For example my brother can go wherever he likes at whatever time he likes and with whoever he wants, but for me I can not do that. I often ask my parents why that is and their answer is because you are a girl and you face more dangers than a guy would. I understand this and this is sadly true, girls do face much more risks than guys do, but I still think it s unfair. Girls should be able to go out just like any guy would. Religion Religion for me is very important. Since I was a little girl my parents have taught me to be religious. Religion for me is to have faith that everything will be alright and that God has a purpose for all of us. I have been Baptized into the Catholic church and have done all the sacraments required, such as my First Communion and Confirmation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Milk Fat Experiment Title: What was the Effect of Temperature on Butter Yield? Purpose: The purpose was to determine if temperature has a direct effect on the formation of milk fat, and whether or not it effected the yield. Background Information: Milk Fat, more commonly known as butter, is comprised of different fats, specifically triglycerides. When using organic, unpasteurized milk, one will notice after sitting stagnant for a number of hours, the milk will start to separate within itself, with clumps of fat collecting at the bottom. This is because milk is an emulsion. An emulsion is a suspension two liquids within each other that would not naturally mix. (Kitchn, 2008) Another example of an emulsion is water in oil. These liquids can be physically mixed together, with a spoon or utensil, and they will appear mixed, but overtime they will resume their separated state. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This works through creating a weak chemical bond between the butter and water, thus keeping the milk well homogenized. However, this chemical bond can easily be broken through agitation to the solution, like shaking, or stirring. When making butter, Heavy Cream is shaken or stirred until a solid precipitate is formed. The solid precipitate is the butter, and the liquid is the butter milk. Through physical agitation, the chemical bonds that the emulsion agent added to the mixture, has been broken, and the fat and water have separated, which results in butter. This separation occurs due to physical force is being exerted onto the phospholipid layer that surrounds the triglycerides. Through the physical agitation, the phospholipid layer begins to break apart, and it causes the triglycerides to bond together, which creates a solid mass of fat, which we refer to as ... • 36. Newton s Laws of Motion An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force (Newton s First Law). To determine if a person should run or walk, you will have to understand the Second Law of Motion. The second law states that force equals mass times acceleration. In order for a person of a certain mass to accelerate, that person must use some force, so the force must overcome gravity, friction, and be larger than the mass of the person trying to move (Newton s Second Law of Motion). If you want to walk or run you will need a bigger force (¶ 4). To walk is not as hard as running, so less force is needed to succeed in doing it (Forester). This leads us to the third law of motion, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction (Newton s Third Law). Another concept of Physics is moving water. For example, flushing the toilet, waterfalls and dams. Flushing a toilet is a great example of transferring energy. Usually on most toilets there is tan on the back of it filled with water. Water that is stored is a great example of potential energy and no kinetic energy. Once toilet is flushed, it gives the water momentum. From waterfalls and dams we can produce hydropower. It is a renewable energy source that converts kinetic energy from falling water into electricity. From the water momentum pushes against the turbine s blades to switch ... Over exercising and the effects on the heart disease and links to cognitive ability The capacity to mentally process, reason, perceive, plan, understand and learn is called cognition. It is important as it help us understand the world and people around us. It is the ability to interpret and comprehend sensory information by transforming, storing and recovering the said data ( (Neisser, 1976). Many studies have been conducted to explore the different factors that could decrease or increase cognition. Some of the factors include sleep, stress, socioeconomic status (SES), and physical activity. Regular exercise is believed to have a huge impact in increasing cognitive ability in individuals. The link between of chronic physical activity and oxygenated haemoglobin in the anterior frontal gyrus of 52 healthy young women was studied (Cameron et al., 2015). The participants were split into groups depending on the amount of physical activity they do regularly. This ranged from 0 being inactive to 3 which is the participant has met the recommended physical activity level, set by the World Health Organisation (WHO), for more than 6 months.
