How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of A Snowstorm
This painting is about a lower class family that is going through a snowstorm in the middle of the
winter to survive instead of just staying inside the warm house. This painting is called the
snowstorm and was painted by Francisco Goya to illustrate a lighter but still hard time in life. This
painting is about a family out in a snowstorm and illustrates a lot about the character of the family
with the hardships that they went through, along with the desperation and willpower to survive.
While the family is out in the middle of the snowstorm they have many hardships to deal with.
The family is all grouped together in the middle of the painting with their jackets wrapped
around them and their heads facing down to keep warm with snow in every direction of them as
if they don t want to travel. This shows that the family is cold and, yet they have to face the
hardship of the winter. The tree next to the family is severely swayed to the right the branch in
front of the family was broken off from the tree and laying on the ground showing how hard it was
to face the cold and wind of the storm. A dog is in front of the family at attention on all four feet
with the dog s paw prints trailing the dog showing that the family is moving in the direction
away from the prints. There is a dead pig draped across and the back of a mule and tied down to it,
along with a man on the left side has a gun in between his arms tucked into his body as if he is the
one who hunts the food for the family.

Tanta University, Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry, Tanta 31527, Egypt.
Abstract 2 Naphthol has been selectively oxidized to 2 hydroxy 1,4 naphthoquinone (HNQ,
Lawsone) with hydrogen peroxide in presence of
5, 10, 15, 20 tetrakis (p sulfonatophenyl)porphinatomanganese (III) chloride as catalyst in alkaline
aqueous solution. The catalytic oxidation afforded
2 hydroxy 1,4 naphthoquinone in high yield (95 %). The effect of reaction parameters on the
catalytic activity and the yield of HNQ have been investigated. UV vis spectral analysis during
oxidation reaction indicated that oxomanganese intermediate O=Mn(IV)TPPSCl was the active
species in the oxidation reaction.
Keywords: Selective catalytic oxidation; 2 Naphthol; Metalloporphyrins; 2 Hydroxy 1,4
naphthoquinone, Hydrogen peroxide.

Charlie Parker Essay
The recording I listened to was the poem Charlie Parker performed by Jack Kerouac and Steve
Allen. This performance is accompanied by a musical rendition that relates to the poem s content,
as the poem is about musician Charlie Parker. Kerouac is performing this poem in memoriam of the
musician. Kerouac describes Charlie Parker in an affluent manner to attest to his musical reverence,
such as calling him a great musician . The soundof the poem and the meaning are greatly
intertwined with one another. The sound is musical and whimsical in nature, as the musicplaying
compliments the poem performance. The meaning of the poem is about the great musician Charlie
Parker and a testament to his life. So the music that accompanies this meaningful... Show more

I thought that Kerouac s musical tone of voice accompanying the music playing really gave the
experience of listening to a song rather than a poetry performance. It had a nice flow to the
performance that added to the songlike feel to this performance when listening to it. I especially
heard this tone in lines, such as we blop and we plop . The use of sound imagery helps in
relating the songlike feel to poetry to the actual musician who is at the center of the poem s
content and meaning. This is not the only imagery seen in the poem, as there are multiple points
in the poem. Kerouac uses imagery as a way to immerse in the poem to give the reader mental
images about Charlie Parker. This can be seen at the beginning of the poem when Kerouac is
describing Charlie Parker, such as the line Charlie Parker looked like Buddha. Kerouac also
used imagery to describe the music of Charlie Parker as well. Kerouac describes the experience
of listening to Charlie Parker play in lines such as like the perfect cry of some wild gang at a jam
session Wail! Whap! . This type of imagery gives the feeling of being at one of the great musician
s performances. This poetry performance was one full of meaning and emotion. The music helped
assist in creating this experience of emotion and meaning to the poem s content. The imagery also
stands out in this performance to help create the vision of emotion and

Assisted Suicide Ethical Dilemmas
It is my belief that assisted suicide is completely ethical and therefore should be made legal.
Throughout the mainstream media over the last twelve months, the topic of assisted suicide, which
was once taboo, has been mentioned more times than nought. The number of people taking their
lives by assisted suicidein 2014, alone, was 792 people. This figure jumped to a whopping 1,004
the following year in the Netherlands alone. While the state of Oregon has seen a 26% increase in
assisted suicide in the years from 2011 2015.
The topic of assisted suicide has skyrocketed so much thanks to the bestselling novel Me Before
You by Jojo Moyes and the subsequent movie that followed. This movie allowed the public to
build a stronger opinion on the ethicalness of this topic rather than just brushing it aside and
announcing that it was some ridiculous idea. Assisted suicide is a great escape for people who
have no other way out and do not have the means to end their own lives. One ... Show more content

Therefore, in many cases, during a lucid moment for a person with Alzheimer s or dementia that
they may choose this option.
This is also a lot easier if someone has very expensive medical treatment, this would lessen the
cost of it significantly which could be a major factor for someone who would be leaving behind a
large family or one that is struggling to get by. Another advantage of assisted suicide is that if the
family have more time to prepare for the death of a loved one it makes it a lot easier to be prepared
and the grief is also easier to handle as they knew that this was coming.
This also makes it easier on the patient as they can choose the way to spend their last remaining
days in the way they see fit and gives them the full right to choose how they live and die, which is
the most humane

Treadwell s Relationship With Animals In Literature
Human beings have always looked for similarities between themselves and other people as to gain
common ground. However people also attempt to make connections between themselves and the
more primal parts of nature. Animals have been along side people for centuries and them being by
our side we ve assigned them certain traits and meanings as an attempt to connect with them on a
deeper level. The Egyptians treated felines as almost gods in their culture because, after
domestication, they killed vermin which helped crops grow. That praise evolved into worship, and
gave felines new meaning among humanbeings. In many ways humans change animals to suit their
purposes in literature and as to allow us to more finely tune our imagination to the lives of
animals. Human beings don t have any idea what it s like anymore to be one with their natural
surroundings which is why we focus so intently on relating to the lives of animals. The more we try
to become kindred with animals, the more definitive the relationship between humans and animals
becomes. Our relationship is almost anything we decide it to be on our end of it, but as for the
animals they seem to fairly indifferent. We can say whatever we want to say about our own
relationships with animals, but they re not going to ignore their own primal instincts no matter
what we say. This is demonstrated through Timothy Treadwells experience with the grizzly bears in
Alaska. Treadwell truely believed to be a kindred spirit with the

Nancy Mairs Cripple Analysis
Out of seven possibilities, the most common ones are Handicapped, Disabled, or Cripple. Which
one did Mairs choose? In this passage Nancy Mairs, a dear woman who has multiple sclerosis
openly identifies herself as a cripple , instead of handicapped or disabled. Mairs presents herself
in a specific way to show why she made that word choice of cripple to name herself. Upon doing
that Mairs uses rhetorical features such as tone, word choice, and rhetorical structure to further her
reason. In this passage, Mairs presents herself at the outset having a candid and elegy tone. The first
sentence states: I am cripple; and that right there without no further details shows the candidness of
this passage. As she brings out that Cripple

CHRISTIANIZATION OF ROME Pagan culture and religious practice remained important through
the fourth century AD, but in AD 392 the emperor Theodosius I forbade pagan worship, and
Christianity effectively became the official religion of the Roman state. JUPITER, THE
CAPITOLINE TRIAD AT A RELATIVELY EARLY DATE, THE SKY GOD JUPITER
(GENERALLY EQUATED WITH THE GREEK GOD ZEUS) TOOK ON GREAT IMPORTANCE
IN THE ROMAN STATE RELIGION. HIS MAIN TEMPLE IN ROME, THAT OF JUPITER

Arnie Plagiarism
Hi Everyone,
Regarding the College Paper Case Study, I have to say that Reggie and Arnie share almost the same
amount of responsibility, they were both committing plagiarisms. Furthermore, I think that Arnie
was more guilty because he was ought not just to warn Reggie about the consequences, but also he
was responsible for reporting Reggie s behavior as stated in the UoPeople Course Catalog (2017),
Students encountering suspected cases of cheating should discreetly report the violator to their
Course Instructor (p. 139).
What do I think about plagiarism? well, it is definitely a problem which is present in many
aspects of our life these days. For example, in my field of work, I have seen programmers
delivered solutions that they don t even understand or are capable of improving, simply because
what they did was just to copy and paste their code from a forum. You may argue that it is code,
and it could look really similar one to another, but the truth is that code means ideas, and those
could also be plagiarised. Sadly this is a problem which is not getting any better, especially
nowadays where people are able to copy images, music, and videos from any source through the
internet basically without any effort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I would do or recommend to avoid it, is this:
Always take notes of the source of every material you use for your papers in case you need to cite
and reference any of them.
Use tools like an online plagiarism checker, because you may write something you read a long
time ago and that also needs to be cited and referenced.
If you are not sure you are plagiarising, better cite and reference the material to be sure.

The Microsoft Monopoly Issue Essay
The Microsoft Monopoly Issue
The best position on the Microsoft monopoly problem is one best for the general public, those
who are and will be using Intel PC products. This position is in opposition to Microsoft and to
support the State and the public. This will consequently give the public better choice, thereby
keeping the price of the product down and benefiting the general public. To understand why this
position is the best choice two simple questions must be answered. The first is, is Microsoft a
monopoly? And the second is, whether Microsoft is a monopoly or not, does that have a negative
effect on the consumer? The answer to the first question is found by examining Microsoft and the
second question is found by considering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
RealNetworks Inc. is a software company that makes a media player that competes directly with
Microsoft s Windows Media Player. RealNetworks has filed suit recently because it claims
Microsoft has cause it as much as 30 billion dollars in damages because it promotes Windows

Similarities Between Classical Greece And Rome
Ancient Classical Greece and Ancient Rome
When thinking of great empires that once existed it s natural that Ancient Rome and Greece come
to mind. They were both very accomplished with an abundance of theories and devices that
impacted the world. The empires were greatly influenced by each other. The Romans adopted many
ideas from The Greeks, but they also had different variations of each, such as their government, art,
and religion.
The ancient Greek and Roman civilizations both had a well organized political process that greatly
influenced the governments yet to come in their countries and other parts of the world such as the
United States and Europe.
An abundance of political junctions originated in ancient Rome and Greece such ... Show more

Some differences were decided on the location of the countries, in Greece they divided themselves
into smaller cities and functioned on many smaller levels rather than one grand conjunction, still
voting as a whole for leaders.
In Rome they weren t as separated due to lack of geographical disturbances, so rather than adopting
many small cities, they acted as a whole.
The art in Rome was considered inferior to the art in Greece being considered fakes or replicas
of their art. The Greeks were striving for perfection in their art while the Romans were striving
for real life people. The statues made in Greece were made with perfect people in mind often
modeled after gods and goddesses, while the statues in Rome have all the faults a real person
would have.
Although both Greece and Rome believed in polytheism and they shared the same gods, Rome
addressed them by different names. The Classical Greek gods such as Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades.
In Rome the names of those gods, in order, would be Neptune, Jupiter, and Pluto. The Greeks
worshipped the poet, hence their amazing mythology, the Roman worshipped the warrior hence all

The Theme of Fatalism in Antigone
Tragedies involve a regular person experiencing a reversal in fortune because he or she results in
a catharsis arousing fear and pity of the audience. In Greek tragedies, fatalism plays a dominant
role in doing so as one is not a free agent because future(in tragedies, reversal of fortune) is
predetermined even if one knows and attempts to avoid it.
Antigone is the daughter of the Oedipus and the sister of Polyneices and Eteocles. King Creon
passed a royal edict banning anyone from burying disgraced Polyneices dead body.
Antigone is portrayed as a heroine rebel who does not fear forces from governments, has a
different mindset to that of Ismene, her submissive sister. She made the choice of burying his
brother Polyneices body that cost her life instead of leaving it in the open.
When fate puts her in this particular situation, she is forced to defy Creon s edict because she
had to follow the God s law which dictates all dead bodies have to be buried otherwise they will
wander the earth ad infinitum. There appears to be a choice for Antigone, but her mindset was pre
programmed such that fate already chose the path for her even if she believed the choice was
made by her free will. Antigone is also fully aware of her consequences and acknowledges her
death and her supposed fate as it is noted in a conversation between Antigone and Ismene:
ISMENE
O sister, scorn me not, let me but share
Thy work of piety, and with thee die.

Should Drinking Age Be Moved To 21 Essay
The drinking age should not be moved to 21, some people are suggesting moving it to age 18.
Even some states agree with the people. This law will only apply to beer. Liquor will not be
included do to high Alcohol percentage. People are against it because they think the under age
drinkers will not be responsible enough to take care of the, selves or other people around them.
People think, lowering the drinking age will cause lots of problems in the community. Today s
adults are still waiting for the youth to show them how responsible we are without drinking
before we grab a beer and drink it. Living without being concern if we re safe or not, is not just a
stereotype. Stories about teenaged robberies and violence are all over the place, so why should
we give these children what they want? People who are against lowered drinking know already
that teenagers will drink regardless if its illegal or legal , so lowering the drinking age won t show

Epidemiology Is The Branch Of Medicine
Epidemiology
Epidemiology is the branch of medicine that deals with the incidence, distribution, and possible
control of diseases and other factors relating to health (Schneider, 8). In 1847, a Viennese
obstetrician by the name of Ignac Semmelweis discovered the importance of handwashing in a
hospital setting (Gawande, 15). Before the discovery of antibiotics, childbed fever was the number
one cause of maternal death in childbirth. Semmelweis realized by not washing their hands, doctors
were the ones responsible for carrying the bacteria that caused the fever from mother to mother.
After implementing strict hand washing rules the death rate of mothers decreased from 20% to 1%
almost overnight (Gawande, 15). Discoveries like the one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Scientists have yet to discover what exactly causes BSE but the leading theory is that it is caused
by prions infectious agents made entirely out of protein that are usually found in the brain and
spinal cord and can only currently be treated if caught before symptoms arise. Humans that eat
infected meat may be infected with Creutzfeldt Jakob disease which causes brain lesions that
ultimately kill the infected.
Another important function of epidemiology is the control of disease. Epidemiologists are tasked
with researching and creating vaccines. A vaccine is a substance used to kickstart the
production of antibodies and help build a resistance to one or several diseases, created from a
part of the existing disease or a man made substance. To create the vaccines scientists have to do
thousands of hours of research and testing. There are many different types of vaccines; some
deactivate the disease, some weaken it, and some even use a piece of the bacteria or virus to
counteract its ill effects. If a vaccine cannot be found epidemiologists can use the factors that
facilitate the transmission of the disease also known as determinants of the disease ,such as where
it is spreading and the medium it uses to travel , to keep it from spreading. An example of a
disease without a vaccine but with clear determinants is HIV.
Epidemiologist do not only work with diseases that are infectious they also work with chronic

The Maltese Front And The Novel Of The Maltese Falcon
The film of the Maltese Falcon and the novel of the Maltese Falcon share some stark differences
along with certain similarities that the film and novel hold. John Huston who directed the film
of the Maltese Falcon shows Sam Spade a little differently as to how Dashiell Hammett portrays
him. Both do share some commonalities between them, yet we see a greater split from novel to
film in the final scene of the Maltese Falcon. The film portrays Spade as this stoic, cold hearted
detective. Yet, the novel displays Spade as a more dominate grabbing man that needs answers
now. The film differs from the novel as we see Spade portrayed in the film as a cold and stoic
character as we see him in the novel as a more dominate and persistent character. As we progress
through the final scene Sam Spadebriskly moves on to alert the authorities about having Cairo and
Gutman on the move. The novel shows Sam after putting the receiver down to appear nervous
he wet his lips and looked down at his hands. Their palms were wet. He filled his deep chest with
air. His eyes we glittering between straightened lids (p. 574). As to the film when we see Spade
hang up the phone he briskly approaches Brigid trying to get as much information out of her as
he can before the police arrive in the film at 1:28:52. As we see in the novel Hammett wanted to
show Spade as being nervous for what is about to happen and for how aggressive he will be in
order to get all of the information needed prior to the police arriving. Huston doesn t show any of
that, but goes straight into getting all of the information out of Brigid as soon as possible.
Leaving a major lack in character for the film Spade as compared to the novel Spade. Next, we
follow to see Spade grabs Brigid and says G d damn you, talk! (p. 575) which shows Spade as a
dominate and demanding individual. The significance of him grabbing executes this notion of
dominance and the meaning of how important this is to Spade. In the film Spade at that moment
wasn t as forceful to get this information out of Brigid. Around 1:29:26 Spade was standing
badgering Brigid with question after question, in addition to asking rhetorical questions that Spade
already knew the answer for. Having Spade in the

Historical Evolution And The Socio -economic Perspectives...
Intro
The aim of this report is to explore the historical evolution and the socio economic perspectives of
National Health Service (NHS) and Mental Health individuals. The report will explore the history
as far as early Nineteenth Century to the present day. The main focus will be on policies and
legislation influenced the foundation of NHS and how it has progressed to meet mental health
individual s needs. The report will also address the needs of individuals, resourced, stigma and
discrimination for the mental health individuals. Blakemore (2003) Blakemore further questioned
social policies intention to improve human welfare and to meet individual s biopsychosocial needs.
Changes were not just influenced by policies and legislation, they were also influenced by funding,
organisation of the service delivery and influential people who felt the need for change.
During the 19th and beginning of 20th centuries, there was an extension of amendments to the Poor
Law. The health service in the United Kingdom was provided by private care and charities. The

disease as a key source to pauperism. In 1842, his Report identified sanitation as a primary key to
illness and the Public Health Act was established in 1848. The improvements of the conditions lead

Faretta V. California Case Study
The United States Constitution sets forth that the Sixth Amendment assures that in all criminal
tribunals, the defendant shall enjoy the right to have the assistance of counsel for his defense. In
addition to the right to counsel, the Sixth Amendment guarantees the right to waive assistance of
counsel and the right to conduct one s own defense. The Faretta v. California case set aside a
conviction because Faretta was convicted after the trial court proceedings which forced him to
accept a public defender. Now that an overview of the Sixth Amendments Right to Counsel has
been briefed, the next section will focus on problems with the sixth amendment of right to counsel

The problem with the Sixth Amendment under the Supreme Court s jurisprudence regarding
waiver of counsel needs to be refurbished. The initial stance that was introduced in Godinez v.
Moran was too low for a defendant to conduct his/her defense. Issues were raised because
defendants are supposed to adopt the right of self representation knowing and intelligently that he
/she can in fact represent himself effectively in a court of law. With that being said, before a
defendant accept a waiver of the right to counsel, the judge must first and foremost ensure that the
defendant is mentally competent to make such a decision to represent himself and that such
decision has been knowingly, intelligently, and voluntarily (Slogan, 2008). The Constitution does
not allow trial to be conducted of defendants who lack mental competence process (Indiana v.
Edwards). The next topic that will be highlighted on is how the United States Supreme Court took

Jonathan Haidt s Hard Times
In the book Hard Times (1856/1995), by Charles Dickens, the citizens of Coketown are faced with
moral situations. The characters have caused emotional harm to others or themselves due to their
decisions. Most of the replies to these moral dilemmas are based on how selfish or selfless these
characters. They can only choose between the choices that value the other people or value
themselves. Two characters that make these decisions are Stephen, a worker at the Hand in
Coketown, and Louisa, the daughter of a teacher in the town. Some of their choices may seem
questionable to others. But most of them can be explained in Jonathan Haidts book The Righteous

The association between Stephen and his wife is a solid example of the cheating rudiment. He is

After meeting an old woman, Stephen started thinking about Racheal: He thought of the number

Cannabis Infused In Tea
Aim:
The FACING study is designed to test the hypothesis that cannabis infused in tea will increase
blood ghrelin levels as significantly as fasting does. We will randomise patients to (a) administer
cannabis tea or (b) undergo fasting. The results of this study will lead to future interventions for
patients with weight related conditions.
Research Plan: Participants
Patients will be eligible for the study if they are between 18 to 50 years of age and have no
previous use of cannabis (cannabis naive). Patients will be required to have a diastolic blood
pressure equal to/higher than 90 mmHg or a systolic blood pressure equal to/lower than 140 (Tam
et al., 2011). All patients will be required to provide written informed consent to participate in the
study. The protocol will need to be approved by the institutional review boards and ethic
committees.
Patients will be excluded from the proposed study if they are diabetics as cannabis has the ability
to induce glucose intolerance (Muniyappa et al., 2013). Patients who are younger than 18 years old
will also be excluded from this study since cannabis use can cause deterioration of neurocognitive
function in attention and memory (Jacobus Tapert, 2014). It will also alter the macrostructural

to retain immense antibacterial properties that can fight bacteria. Silver nanoparticles have been
also known to possess antimicrobial properties that aid in the fight against various bacteria. The
use of plants as well as silver nanoparticles to fight against bacteria has caused much interest in the
nanotechnology and medicine fields, and has been the basis of many studies. The purpose of this
paper is to scrutinize the antimicrobial potency of silver nanoparticles, and how they may be
utilized to fight against various harmful bacteria. Bacteria: The Antimicrobial Potency of
Biosynthesized Silver Nanoparticles against It Bacteria are found all over the world in all types of
regions and climates, and can also exist within other organisms ( Bacteria, n.d.). Bacteria make up a
large portion of the population of prokaryotic organisms that coexist with us ( Bacteria, n.d.). As
technology has evolved and our understanding of these organisms has increased, it has come to the
attention of many in the scientific community that there is a significant amount of bacteria that live
symbiotically within organisms such as humans ( Introduction to the Bacteria, n.d.). As a matter of
fact, human beings rely on bacteria to live. There are bacteria known as actinomycetes, that have

The Importance Of Population Differences
Geographers have different factors to focus on when trying to understand why there are differences
in the world s population. Crude birth rate, crude death rate, natural increase rate, life expectancy
and so on. Each of those are methods used by geographers to measure population. Geographers
should not only look at those methods when trying to figure out the populationdifferences. Some
social factors like the economy, culture, lifestyle and the government contributes in the differences
in population. Crude birth rateand life expectancy are the two most important indicators that can
help a geographer understand why is there differences in the population.
Crude birth rate is an immensely important factor because not in all courtiers a woman is having
up to seven children. According to statista Niger is a country with the highest crude birth rate
because women are estimated to have 6.76 children per women. However, China has the largest
population in the world and in the Washington post it states that China allows couples to only
have two children. It is also mentioned that although the government allows couples to have two
children most people only have one child. People in China prefer to just have one child because
is extremely costly. In the Washington post it indicates that to prepare a child to succeed in the
country s competitive schools and workplaces, parents must invest lots of time and money in a
child for schooling, extracurricular activities, and outside tutoring, often for college entrance and
English proficiency exams . This type of factors makes the difference in population. The economy
is not the same around the world and in the countries that are poor women do not health care and
that means they can not be put on birth control. Crude birth rate explains why some countries
population is bigger than others. If women in some countries are having 5 and more children the
population is going be higher than in countries that women are having one child. In this case,
China can not be included because although you are allowed to just have two children, China was
already over populated and had to come up with the one child policy. I believe that if China stick
to just having one child and Niger s

United States And The Open Skies Agreements Essay
The United States has numerous Open Skies agreements with most countries around the globe. The
agreements allow foreign airlines to fly to the U.S. with few, if any, restrictions from the U.S.
government and U.S. carriers to fly to foreign countries, also with little or no government
restrictions. However, many of the U.S. carriers, such as Delta, American, and United, believe that
the Open Skies agreements have some major loopholes, allowing the few subsidized airlines, such
as Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad, to fly to the United States, as well as numerous other
countries across the globe, at lower operating costs than their non subsidized competition have to
pay for the same route. These agreements also allow the practice of fifth freedom operations. Fifth
freedom operations permit one airlineto fly from their home country to another participating
country, drop off and pick up passengers, fly to a second participating country and then fly the
whole route in reverse. These routes are known as fifth freedom routes. Since they oppose the idea
of fifth freedom routes, Delta, American, and United [the U.S. Three] all want the U.S.
government to limit the number of flights these Persian Gulf carriers can operate to the U.S.
because they believe that they are losing revenue and customers to this group, known as the
Middle East Three. One popular discussion topic is the idea of fifth freedom routes. Ted Reed, a

Feminism Is House Of Spirits By Isabel Allende
Feminist theory began in the late 18th century, the main goal was to diminish sexism in society and
create equality for men and women. Throughout the years, women have succeeded in gaining equal
rights. Unfortunately, there are still issues today. For instance, women are paid 78% of what men
are paid. One novel that portrays the argument of Feminismis House of Spirits by Isabel Allende. To
begin with, Men are characterized as violent and destructive beings while women are forgiving
and possess magic. All the women in the book have names that mean light. Finally, the men in
the book have all the power while women remain submissive. The character who represents men
is Esteban Trueba. After the love of his life dies, Esteban moves to a village where he grew up.
He begins to enrich the city and becomes the dictator. Throughout his time as a Dictator, Esteban
rapes young women and keeps some as his maids. He does this for the feeling of empowerment.
All the civilians of the village are afraid of Esteban. He holds grudges and is violent towards the

Molarity Of Sucrose Essay
Figure 1 shows the relationship between the percent change in mass and the molarity of sucrose
solution for both group data and class average data. The percent change in mass was used instead
of just change in mass because all of the bags had different initial masses. The percent changes
allowed comparison between the different solutions. The smallest percent change in mass was in
solutionC, which had a molarity of 0.0M. The greatest percent change in mass was in solution B,
which had a molarity of 1.0M.
Discussion/Conclusion: It was predicted that the percent change in mass and the molarity of

This is due to the fact that water moves from areas of low solute concentration to the areas of high
solute concentration. If the solution has a high molarity of sucrose, that means water outside
would move into the bag causing the mass of the bag to become greater. That is what happened
in the experiment. The water moved in the bags that had a high molarity of sucrose and
increased the mass of the the bags; this caused the the mass difference to be greater, which
caused the percent change in mass be greater. Solution B had the greatest class average percent
change in mass of 29.62% and the greatest molarity of 1.0M. Solution C had the smallest class
average percent change in mass of 2.39% and the lowest molarity of 0.0M. There were a couple
of errors that may have occurred in the duration of the experiment. One of the errors that may
have occurred was that the dialysis bags may not have been completely dried from the distilled
water before the initial and the final masses were taken and recorded, which could have affected
the mass difference and consequently the percent change in mass. Another error that could have
occurred was if the dialysis bags were not completely sealed when the tails of

Data Mining and Warehousing Techniques
Background One of the most promising developments in the field of computing and computer
memory over the past few decades has been the ability to bring tremendous complex and large data
sets into database management that are both affordable and workable for many organizations.
Improvement in computer power has also allowed for the field of artificial intelligence to evolve
which also improves the sifting of massive amounts of information for appropriate use in business,
military, governmental, and academic venues. Essentially, data miningis taking as much
information as possible for a variety of databases, sifting it intelligently and coming up with usable
information that will help with data prediction, customer service, what if scenarios, and
extrapolating trends for population groups (Ye, 2003; Therling, 2009). . In any data warehousing
model, the ultimate success of the operation is entirely dependent upon the strengths and
weaknesses of the information delivery tools. If the tools are effective, data will be available in a
robust manner that it ultimately appropriate for the end user. Because there are so many different
types of delivery mechanisms, the data must be available in a variety of formats. In the data
warehouse for instance, the data must be transactional from numerous sources and have the ability
to slice and dice into usable reports. We can think of it as a major information repository
functioning in three layers: staging used to store the raw data

stop European intervention whether or not they had a joint declaration ( quot;Monroe Doctrine

Memorandum, saying that France would not help Spain regain her lost colonies. All of this
hindered the action toward cooperation. John Q. Adams had opposed the issue of a joint statement

essay. In this class, I notice that before working on any assignment, my instructor always ask the

time to think and write our ideas is she wantto train us to brainstorm before doing something. This
is how I generate my idea and choose the best option that I have using the list of ideas that I have
from brainstorming process. This process can be interesting part of generating idea because I just
write what I have in my mind even though it is not logic and impossible to do. However, here

What Is The Future Of Toys R Us
The Future of Toys R Us The retail industry is currently going through extremely difficult times
companies need to rethink what products they sell and how they sell. Toys R Us is a prime
example of a company currently juggling this crucial problem. After recently filing for
bankruptcy, they introduced some strategic changes that they would be making to their
traditional brook and mortar stores. These changes are intended to excite the customer and to
encourage them to return to their stores. With new innovating ideas, they hope it will be enough
for their existing customers, and attractive to possible new customers. They will know soon
enough if their efforts are enough. Toys R Us has not always been the retail giant they are
today. It was founded by Charles P. Lazarus; at the time, a young entrepreneur. After returning
from World War II, he contemplated what type of store he should operate. He began selling
baby furniture, but then began to carry a few toys. He noticed that people would keep coming
back to his store to shop his merchandize. The store then began to carry a larger and larger
assortment of options for his customers. In the late 1950 s, Charles restructured his company and
introduced the format that many of us have grown accustomed to when entering a Toys R Us. The
company has since grown to operate more than 800 stores around the world (History, n.d.). On

Onychomycosis Essay
Onychomycosis
Onychomycosis, also known as ringworm of the nail, is a fungal infection that primarily influences
either the fingernails or the toenails (though toenails are more susceptible). Such an affliction may
correlate on any part of the nail, visible or not, including the nail bed, nail plate, and nail matrix,
which is located behind the cuticle, and beneath the skin. Onychomycosis is far from life
threatening, being among the most common nail diseases that afflict adults. Nevertheless, it s a
fungal infection, and is therefore highly contagious. In her study of onychomycosis, dermatologist
Boni Elewski commented, ...onychomycosis is all too often regarded as merely a cosmetic problem

The risk factors for onychomycosis include one s family history, old age, poor health or lack of
hygiene, living in a warm climate, involvement in fitness activities that cause the body to sweat,
immunosuppression (often from HIV or certain drugs), bathing in communal showers (such as at a
gym), and wearing closed shoes that let in any air circulation. Failure to take care of personal
hygiene and washing your body regularly combined with old age and a low immune system, make a
person susceptible to this fungal infection. You literally become a breeding ground for organisms
and fungus.
Onychomycosis is caused by three main classes of organisms. They are dermatophytes (fungi that
infect hair, skin, nails, and feed on the tissue of nails), yeasts, and nondermatophyte molds. All
three classes cause the same symptoms, so the appearance of the infection does not tell which
class is responsible for the infection. Dermatophytes are, by far, the most common causes of
onychomycosis worldwide. Yeasts cause 8% of cases, and nondermatophyte molds cause 2% of
onychomycosis cases (Ratz). Treatment of onychomycosis is challenging because the infection is
embedded within the nail and is difficult to reach. As a result, full removal of symptoms is very
slow and may take a year or

Skateboarding is really easy to do when you come to think about, all it really is balancing on a

Social Media s Impact On Public Relations
Social media forums have had a positive impact on the Public Relations industry in the twenty
first century. The massive increase in social media usage has provided a medium by which it is
easier to connect with a larger audience worldwide. This has resulted in an adoption of social
media strategies for many PR specialists. Sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram allow
these specialists to keep up with the public s opinions on current events as well as promote
businesses or products. The public relationsindustry is very different from advertising. While
advertisers pay for exposure and visual aids, PR specialists use language and conferences to
earn the trust of the public. According to the Public Relations Society of America Public
relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships
between organizations and their publics. PR specialists are image shapers and storytellers that
can be used to enhance, protect, and build reputations through any form of media or self created
production. If the news is bad, they formulate the best response to reduce the damage. Their job
is to create positive publicity for their client as well as enhance their reputation. Public relations
specialists over the years have had to stay on top of the changes in communication in order to

Preparing to Conduct Business Research Part 1
Introduction
In this paper Team C will discuss a situation within a company that requires research, hypothesis
and variable. We will also go over the ethics that need to be taken into account. The situation that
is being faced is the employee turnover rate is too high. This is a significant problem because it
is causing the company to lose money each time they have to train a new employee. This is a
great situation to research and find out what is going on, and figure out how it can be changed. The
research for this will figure out why the situation seems to be that there is a high ... Show more

Another may be training and development opportunities. The variables that we are looking for in
this study will in some way show how to increase employee retention. When dealing with employee
retention issues there may be more than one solution to fixing the issue. That is why it is important
to ask the right questions during an exit interview as well as in any other form of interview or
survey.
Ethical Considerations
In the issue of poor employee retention research is definitely a good way to figure out what the
issues are and how to combat them. There are however, ethical matters that should be considered
during the research process. Making sure that employees confidentiality is kept during the process
is very important, also you want to make sure that race is not involved. It is also important to make
sure that the results do not interfere with the employees that are currently employed within the
company. It is important to keep the objectives clear, and to make sure that proper consent is given
when necessary. Making sure that ethical considerations are taken into account are very important
during any business research including finding out why there is poor employee retention.
Conclusion
In this paper Team C has discussed the issue of poor employee retention concluding in a high
employee turnover rate. This is an issue that can be common among some companies and that is a
great example of

Language Planning and Language Development
LANGUAGE PLANNING AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
Language is a typically human phenomenon. In moving from the natural being of animal existence
to the cultural being of human existence, language plays the decisive role. Language gives a sense
of identity to an individual as well as a social group and, in the process, creates multiple identities.
The maintenance, merger, clash and change in identities based on and reflected in the language
change has prompted linguists, philosophers, psychologists, sociologists, anthropologists and
political scientists to study language in its multifarious dimensions. Since economic and societal
planning have to, of necessity, take into account the context of planning, there is no wonder that

5. Illiteracy is a major problem of the country (Pattanayak 1974). Out of 800 million illiterates in
the world, India is credited to have 400 million . if in eradicating illiteracy the intention is to move
from a culture of silence to a culture of thinking participation and the emphasis is on the creation
of an intelligent task force for economic and industrial development, then, urgent and bold steps
need to be taken in this area. Literacy in a multilingual must be based on the expressed needs of a
people3. Secondly, the language of literacy has to be determined keeping in view the various
contexts of language use and strategies linking the languages of literacy with that of education and
administration.
It would thus be quite clear that whether it is in the field of language use in education, language
use in administration or in mass media, there is a constant need to weigh alternatives and plan
action. The examples cited above are as true of any multilingual country as they are of India. Such
examples not only establish the necessity for language planning, but also the need to analyse its
process and product.
Before talking about language planning, one must understand the motivation and mechanisms of
planning. Planning is not merely a catalogue of resources and the organisation and mobilization of
these resources to reach a certain defined goal. Since the technocrat is seldom the decision maker, it
is important that the planner provides alternatives and

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Single Parenting
Everyone grows up differently. But children who grow up with only a single parent are often seen
as children who are at a disadvantage. Some of these disadvantages can include the childs education
and emotions. However, single parenting can include advantages which can affect their
responsibility and how they react to conflict.
According to Single Parent; [s]ome tests and observations have concluded and found that single
parenting makes children more aggressive and rebellious. A child may become more aggressive
and rebellious because a single parent may frequently be gone for long periods of time. Because of
this and the singular parent being the only disciplinarian, it is hard to maintain a child s discipline.
Another emotional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Mulhere, [f]amily income accounts for about half of the educational disadvantage
faced by students from single parent families. This may be because single parents may not make
enough income to put their child through college. Another instance that Mulheres statement
applies to is that the child through their teens may end up getting a job while in school to try and
help their parent financially. The reason this can be a disadvantage is because the child may
work more than part time and may not have enough time to study for school. Although, there are
exceptions to this. An exception to this is Ben Carson. Ben Carson was raised by his single
mother, whom worked three jobs, had been raised in poverty along with a single parent and he
had gone to college and became a neurosurgeon. Even though Carson was raised by a single
parent he got through school, became the nation s youngest chief of pediatric neurosurgery when
he was 33 years old, and was a presidential candidate. Single parent families are becoming
increasingly common. Singleparent had said that single parenting is becoming a rapidly rising
trend in society [...] studies in the US alone indicate there are four single parents to every ten
parents [...]. In early 1965 a guy named Daniel Patrick Moynihan (1927 2003) had completed a
report that was eventually published as The Negro Family or more frequently referred to as
Moynihan s Report (Encyclopedia). In his report Moynihan had described the

Overcrowding Prisons And The Prisons Essay
Alma Gonzalez
Professor Shaw
SOC 474OL
11 August 2016
Overcrowding Prisons Prisons were essentially built to accommodate a number of prisoners, but
over the years, it has reached over capacity. Today in the United States, there are approximately
193,468 federal inmates that consist of the Bureau of Prisons Custody, private managed facilities
and other facilities. The inmates ages range from 18 65 with the median age being in their late 30
s. This number is counting both male and female population with a male being 93.3% of inmates
and females being 6.7%. The number of inmates has steadily increased since 1980 with only having
approximately less than 50,000 but today the number has gone more up. Drug offenses are the
highest number of inmate s imprisonment, the next higher offense would be weapons, explosives
and arson; immigration and miscellaneous fall next in lines. The number of the other offenses, such
as robbery, extortion, fraud, bribery, burglary, larceny, property offenses and other offenses are
lower. Overcrowding prisons have become problematic as the prisons population continues to
increase, leading to proper care and attention to prisoners.
The Discriminator The Criminal Justice System Policy has changed over the past years, whether

What Are The Factors That Affect Eating Healthy
If I had to be honest, I have always known that my eating habits could use some work. I do not
eat enough foods that are nutrient dense, and I consume too many fats. However, this also
reminds me that I have improved my habits a little. For example, Before I started college and
really started this journey towards healthy living I could have easily eaten a whole Hershey s
chocolate bar, but instead I only ate a half, and that half was not in one whole sitting. Another
example is related to the items I had for breakfast. Usually, I would get the tater tots that serve
with breakfast, but I chose to get an apple instead because I knew it would be healthier for me.
With this said, I do not eat breakfast on a regular basis. I am good about eating lunch and dinner,
but I have a bad habit of not getting a meal first thing in the morning. While I may not eat three
meals a day, I do not snack that often. There will be some days that I will have... Show more content

My parents did buy healthy foods throughout my child, but they would do so when it lined up
with their goals of eating healthy and exercising. However, eating healthy was not a common
occurrence, and has lead to me not eating healthy all the time. Another factor that has affected
my eating habits is my stress because as a student I am under a lot of stress. Between studying,
reading, and classes there is a lot to deal with. When I am stressed, I usually want to eat
something that reminds of home and is simple, but also translates into something unhealthy. The
biggest factor related to my eating habits is simply being in college. Stress is related to that, but
being in college itself is a factor since I have little control over what I eat. I can make decisions
about what to eat based on what is available. However, what is available is not always good which
makes it difficult to eat food that is both healthy and

Material Requirements Planning ( Mrp ) And Lean Manufacturing
Over the years, manufacturing production strategies have continued to evolve. Despite this the
manufacturing strategies debate between material requirements planning (MRP) and lean
manufacturing is still disputed. On one side is the philosophy that MRP software is required to
adequately plan production. On the other side is the lean philosophy, which argues that these
planning tools are too rigid to reflect actual production environments and ultimately impede
effective production. This essay will assess if lean synchronisation is an alternative to material
requirements planning. Material Requirements Planning Principles MRP was developed in the
1970 s as an inventory management system. The principle relied on conducting detailed planning
to ensure that parts and materials ware obtained in time to meet the manufacturing process. It was
a major step forward at the time as it capitalized on the use of the computer to generate the supply
orders. (rf) The use of computers allowed operations managers to track supplies orders, obtain
secondary materials and enabled precise stock levels to be measured easily. Now almost all MRP
systems use computes. This led to companies creating production schedules that focused on
obtaining resources to match the output level of production. (rf) Using MRP managers can
determine what materials are required in what quantity and by what deadline. This is known as a
push system of inventory control and involves forecasting inventory needs to meet

Essay about The Death Penalty
The most severe of all sentences: that of death. Also known as the death penalty, capital punishment
is the most severe form of corporal punishment as it is requires law enforcement officers to kill the
offender. It has been banned in many countries. In the United States, an earlier move to eliminate
capital punishmenthas now been reversed and more and more states are resorting to capital
punishment for serious offenses such as murder. In this essay, I will elaborate on capital
punishment and on the cases of Joe Guy, Tommy Zeigler, Leroy Orange, and Charles Munsey.
The Bible mentions that one should not take another s life and people have been violating this for
centuries. We use it in reference to burglary, adultery, love and many... Show more content on

Consider those jurisdictions that eschew capital punishment altogether. What sanction can such
jurisdictions really apply to those who have already been sentenced to life in prison without parole?
Sentences of this sort may take more lives overall by increasing the number of essentially
unpunishable within prison homicides of guards and fellow inmates.53 Many murderers are killed
in prison even in states that lack the death penalty.54 And if murderers are eventually paroled into
the general population, some of them will kill again. Overall, it is quite possible that the permanent
incapacitation of murderers through execution might save lives on net. A finding that capital
punishment deters and deterrence is our focus here is sufficient but not necessary to find a life life
tradeoff.
With this being said capital punishment is serving in a positive way. If capital punishment
spectator would look at it this way, and publicize it in a manner to get a message across to the
violent offenders these corrupt crime wave would drop dramatically.
In the case involving Joe Guy, he was convicted for his role in a 1993 convenience store robbery
in Plainview, TX in which the store owner was killed, and his elderly mother wounded. Guy,
alleged to be the unarmed lookout, received the death sentence; the alleged mastermind and
shooters, in separate trials, received life sentences. Here a man is a lookout and is getting ready to

Using Porous Organometallic Compounds For Various Material...
Introduction
In the past century extensive research has been conducted on porous organometallic compounds
for use in various material applications. Although numerous compounds containing Lewis bases,
such as nitriles and bipyridines and have been reported to be successful at the sorption of small
molecules, the desorption of the guest often leads to structural collapse of the host. 1,2 Metal
organic frameworks (MOFs) have shown to be a valuable class of newer materials that can support
permanent porosity upon the evacuation of the framework. Unlike zeolites, which are fully
inorganic, the flexibility in the choice of the organic linker comprising the backbone of the MOF
structure makes the size of the poragen formed tunable for a wider ... Show more content on

One of the original and still most active fields of research in metal organic frameworks is in gas
separation. While the ability of both rigid and flexible MOFs to adsorb is based on such factors
as geometry of the gas as well as sorbate sorbent interactions, flexible MOFs are also dependent on
structural rearrangements and the ability of the pore to change with thermodynamic conditions.
Currently, most MOF investigations into gas separation are conducted by measuring the sorption
and desorption of specific gases and relating isothermic data. MOFs are being looked to as next
generation gaseous adsorbent materials in both industrial and environmental applications.9 One
particular gas that is of growing environmental concern is CO2. As a byproduct of human created
combustion activities, particularly in developed nations, the need to capture and sequester CO2 is
becoming ever more apparent. In order to adsorb CO2, a metal organic framework must be
functionalized for high selectivity towards the gas as well as possess the necessary enthalpy of
adsorption. MOFs with open cation sites such as MOF 74 derivatives, as well as those containing
amine functional groups are especially useful.10 The

Narrative What Are Ghosts Essay
In the middle of the night I was sound asleep, until I got this weird sensation throughout my
mind that made me feel like I was being watched and awoke. When I sat up I noticed an average
looking man standing in the darkness of my bedroom. Frightened, I grabbed my blanket, moved
closer to the wall, and followed the man with my wide open eyes. Eventually, he made his way into
my half open closet door. I ran to turn the light on faster than a wimpy kid who punched the tough
guy in school. Unlike most people would, I went straight to the closet door; when I opened the door,
I found nothing. It s easy to assume that I didn t get too much sleep that night. I am not positive

There are many factors that contribute to the transformation of a spirit: whether or not one did good
deeds, the amount of spiritual practice, destiny, death cause, funeral, spiritual rituals, self esteem,
have desires that weren t fulfilled, negative thoughts, anger, harmed people during lifetime, or
doesn t have spiritual thoughts or practices (What Are Ghosts). Occasionally, the ghostwill attach to
a person, place or object.
Some ghosts are rather weak and highly dependent on the place or person they are attached to.
They are sometimes called earthbound spirits. Some other ghosts have gained so much energy that
they can move around and even make objects move with their energy. These are called poltergeists.
(What to Do)
Poltergeists are one kind of ghost that one would not enjoy to have in their company. Very
strong poltergeists have a limited ability to slam doors or make objects fall on your head (What
to Do). They derive pleasure out of exerting control over and tormenting humans and other subtle
bodies (What Are Ghosts). Ghosts take the energy from their victim s breath and use the breath to
provide the them with energy. Ghosts that had addictions to chemicals, such as addictive drugs
and alcohol, will feed off of humans with a similar addiction (Spiritual Compass). Spirits can feed
off of your fear (Spiritual Compass). Emotionally they can scare you, but only if you are afraid of
them (What to Do). The fear is what

Voting Behavior
Many political science researchers study the forces that drive the vote. One of the earliest, and
most well known, books about election studies is The American Voter. Written in 1960, the book
tries to explain a model that describes what drives Americans to vote the way they do. The model
suggests that social factorsdetermine ones party identification, which determines one s issue
positions and evaluation of candidate s characteristics. These forces all work together to determine
how one will vote. This model may or may not still hold true today, as political researchers are not
in agreement as to what exactly drives the vote. One thing that does remain true, however, is that
factors such as social groups, party identification, issues,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No one really knows what drives the vote, and we probably never will. It does seem, however, that
retrospective evaluations do have a much more significant impact than they were once thought to.
It has been found that issues do not play a significant role in voter choice. The American Voter
authors found that the public is often not well informed about public policy and may not be able
to vote on the issues alone. They also found that for voters to decide who to vote for based on
issues three conditions must first be met. The first is that the voters must hold an opinion on the
issue. They must also see what action the government is taking on the issue, and finally they must
be able to see a difference in issue positions between the two parties. It is highly unlikely that a
majority of the American public is able to meet all three requirements. Another reason why
Americans are unable to make decisions based on issues is that they lack the knowledge and
sophistication such a decision requires. Most of those people who do vote on issues know the
candidates stances on the issues and keep their own view constant over time. (Abramson, Aldrich,
Rohde, 179 180)
One issue that is very controversial and that almost everyone has an opinion on is abortion. There
are extremist pro life and pro choice advocates, but most Americans fall somewhere in between.
Pro life activists are very likely to go to the polls, and even

  • 3. How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of A Snowstorm This painting is about a lower class family that is going through a snowstorm in the middle of the winter to survive instead of just staying inside the warm house. This painting is called the snowstorm and was painted by Francisco Goya to illustrate a lighter but still hard time in life. This painting is about a family out in a snowstorm and illustrates a lot about the character of the family with the hardships that they went through, along with the desperation and willpower to survive. While the family is out in the middle of the snowstorm they have many hardships to deal with. The family is all grouped together in the middle of the painting with their jackets wrapped around them and their heads facing down to keep warm with snow in every direction of them as if they don t want to travel. This shows that the family is cold and, yet they have to face the hardship of the winter. The tree next to the family is severely swayed to the right the branch in front of the family was broken off from the tree and laying on the ground showing how hard it was to face the cold and wind of the storm. A dog is in front of the family at attention on all four feet with the dog s paw prints trailing the dog showing that the family is moving in the direction away from the prints. There is a dead pig draped across and the back of a mule and tied down to it, along with a man on the left side has a gun in between his arms tucked into his body as if he is the one who hunts the food for the family. ... Selective Oxidation Of 2 Naphthol Selective oxidation of 2 naphthol to 2 hydroxy 1,4 naphthoquinone with hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by 5,10,15, 20 tetrakis(p sulfonato phenyl)porphinatomanganese(III) chloride in aqueous solution. M. Hassanein*, S. El Khalafy , S. Shendy Tanta University, Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry, Tanta 31527, Egypt. Abstract 2 Naphthol has been selectively oxidized to 2 hydroxy 1,4 naphthoquinone (HNQ, Lawsone) with hydrogen peroxide in presence of 5, 10, 15, 20 tetrakis (p sulfonatophenyl)porphinatomanganese (III) chloride as catalyst in alkaline aqueous solution. The catalytic oxidation afforded 2 hydroxy 1,4 naphthoquinone in high yield (95 %). The effect of reaction parameters on the catalytic activity and the yield of HNQ have been investigated. UV vis spectral analysis during oxidation reaction indicated that oxomanganese intermediate O=Mn(IV)TPPSCl was the active species in the oxidation reaction. • 5. Charlie Parker Essay The recording I listened to was the poem Charlie Parker performed by Jack Kerouac and Steve Allen. This performance is accompanied by a musical rendition that relates to the poem s content, as the poem is about musician Charlie Parker. Kerouac is performing this poem in memoriam of the musician. Kerouac describes Charlie Parker in an affluent manner to attest to his musical reverence, such as calling him a great musician . The soundof the poem and the meaning are greatly intertwined with one another. The sound is musical and whimsical in nature, as the musicplaying compliments the poem performance. The meaning of the poem is about the great musician Charlie Parker and a testament to his life. So the music that accompanies this meaningful... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I thought that Kerouac s musical tone of voice accompanying the music playing really gave the experience of listening to a song rather than a poetry performance. It had a nice flow to the performance that added to the songlike feel to this performance when listening to it. I especially heard this tone in lines, such as we blop and we plop . The use of sound imagery helps in relating the songlike feel to poetry to the actual musician who is at the center of the poem s content and meaning. This is not the only imagery seen in the poem, as there are multiple points in the poem. Kerouac uses imagery as a way to immerse in the poem to give the reader mental images about Charlie Parker. This can be seen at the beginning of the poem when Kerouac is describing Charlie Parker, such as the line Charlie Parker looked like Buddha. Kerouac also used imagery to describe the music of Charlie Parker as well. Kerouac describes the experience of listening to Charlie Parker play in lines such as like the perfect cry of some wild gang at a jam session Wail! Whap! . This type of imagery gives the feeling of being at one of the great musician s performances. This poetry performance was one full of meaning and emotion. The music helped assist in creating this experience of emotion and meaning to the poem s content. The imagery also stands out in this performance to help create the vision of emotion and ... • 6. Assisted Suicide Ethical Dilemmas It is my belief that assisted suicide is completely ethical and therefore should be made legal. Throughout the mainstream media over the last twelve months, the topic of assisted suicide, which was once taboo, has been mentioned more times than nought. The number of people taking their lives by assisted suicidein 2014, alone, was 792 people. This figure jumped to a whopping 1,004 the following year in the Netherlands alone. While the state of Oregon has seen a 26% increase in assisted suicide in the years from 2011 2015. The topic of assisted suicide has skyrocketed so much thanks to the bestselling novel Me Before You by Jojo Moyes and the subsequent movie that followed. This movie allowed the public to build a stronger opinion on the ethicalness of this topic rather than just brushing it aside and announcing that it was some ridiculous idea. Another advantage of assisted suicide is that if the family have more time to prepare for the death of a loved one it makes it a lot easier to be prepared and the grief is also easier to handle as they knew that this was coming. • 7. Treadwell s Relationship With Animals In Literature Human beings have always looked for similarities between themselves and other people as to gain common ground. However people also attempt to make connections between themselves and the more primal parts of nature. Animals have been along side people for centuries and them being by our side we ve assigned them certain traits and meanings as an attempt to connect with them on a deeper level. The Egyptians treated felines as almost gods in their culture because, after domestication, they killed vermin which helped crops grow. That praise evolved into worship, and gave felines new meaning among humanbeings. In many ways humans change animals to suit their purposes in literature and as to allow us to more finely tune our imagination to the lives of animals. Human beings don t have any idea what it s like anymore to be one with their natural surroundings which is why we focus so intently on relating to the lives of animals. The more we try to become kindred with animals, the more definitive the relationship between humans and animals becomes. Our relationship is almost anything we decide it to be on our end of it, but as for the animals they seem to fairly indifferent. We can say whatever we want to say about our own relationships with animals, but they re not going to ignore their own primal instincts no matter what we say. This is demonstrated through Timothy Treadwells experience with the grizzly bears in Alaska. Treadwell truely believed to be a kindred spirit with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this passage Nancy Mairs, a dear woman who has multiple sclerosis openly identifies herself as a cripple , instead of handicapped or disabled. Mairs presents herself in a specific way to show why she made that word choice of cripple to name herself. Upon doing that Mairs uses rhetorical features such as tone, word choice, and rhetorical structure to further her reason. In this passage, Mairs presents herself at the outset having a candid and elegy tone. The Christianization of Rome CHRISTIANIZATION OF ROME Pagan culture and religious practice remained important through the fourth century AD, but in AD 392 the emperor Theodosius I forbade pagan worship, and Christianity effectively became the official religion of the Roman state. JUPITER, THE CAPITOLINE TRIAD AT A RELATIVELY EARLY DATE, THE SKY GOD JUPITER (GENERALLY EQUATED WITH THE GREEK GOD ZEUS) TOOK ON GREAT IMPORTANCE IN THE ROMAN STATE RELIGION. HIS MAIN TEMPLE IN ROME, THAT OF JUPITER OPTIMUS MAXIMUS ( THE BEST AND GREATEST ) WAS ESTABLISHED ON THE CAPITOLINE HILL IN 509 BC AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ROMAN REPUBLIC, AND WAS REBUILT SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT ROMAN HISTORY. • 10. Arnie Plagiarism Hi Everyone, Regarding the College Paper Case Study, I have to say that Reggie and Arnie share almost the same amount of responsibility, they were both committing plagiarisms. Furthermore, I think that Arnie was more guilty because he was ought not just to warn Reggie about the consequences, but also he was responsible for reporting Reggie s behavior as stated in the UoPeople Course Catalog (2017), Students encountering suspected cases of cheating should discreetly report the violator to their Course Instructor (p. 139). What do I think about plagiarism? well, it is definitely a problem which is present in many aspects of our life these days. For example, in my field of work, I have seen programmers delivered solutions that they don t even understand or are capable of improving, simply because what they did was just to copy and paste their code from a forum. You may argue that it is code, and it could look really similar one to another, but the truth is that code means ideas, and those could also be plagiarised. Sadly this is a problem which is not getting any better, especially nowadays where people are able to copy images, music, and videos from any source through the internet basically without any effort. ... The Microsoft Monopoly Issue Essay The Microsoft Monopoly Issue The best position on the Microsoft monopoly problem is one best for the general public, those who are and will be using Intel PC products. This position is in opposition to Microsoft and to support the State and the public. This will consequently give the public better choice, thereby keeping the price of the product down and benefiting the general public. To understand why this position is the best choice two simple questions must be answered. The first is, is Microsoft a monopoly? And the second is, whether Microsoft is a monopoly or not, does that have a negative effect on the consumer? They were both very accomplished with an abundance of theories and devices that impacted the world. The empires were greatly influenced by each other. The Romans adopted many ideas from The Greeks, but they also had different variations of each, such as their government, art, and religion. The art in Rome was considered inferior to the art in Greece being considered fakes or replicas of their art. The Greeks were striving for perfection in their art while the Romans were striving for real life people. The statues made in Greece were made with perfect people in mind often modeled after gods and goddesses, while the statues in Rome have all the faults a real person would have. • 13. The Theme of Fatalism in Antigone Tragedies involve a regular person experiencing a reversal in fortune because he or she results in a catharsis arousing fear and pity of the audience. In Greek tragedies, fatalism plays a dominant role in doing so as one is not a free agent because future(in tragedies, reversal of fortune) is predetermined even if one knows and attempts to avoid it. Antigone is the daughter of the Oedipus and the sister of Polyneices and Eteocles. King Creon passed a royal edict banning anyone from burying disgraced Polyneices dead body. Antigone is portrayed as a heroine rebel who does not fear forces from governments, has a different mindset to that of Ismene, her submissive sister. She made the choice of burying his brother Polyneices body that cost her life instead of leaving it in the open. When fate puts her in this particular situation, she is forced to defy Creon s edict because she had to follow the God s law which dictates all dead bodies have to be buried otherwise they will wander the earth ad infinitum. There appears to be a choice for Antigone, but her mindset was pre programmed such that fate already chose the path for her even if she believed the choice was made by her free will. Antigone is also fully aware of her consequences and acknowledges her death and her supposed fate as it is noted in a conversation between Antigone and Ismene: ISMENE O sister, scorn me not, let me but share Thy work of piety, and with thee die. Epidemiology Is The Branch Of Medicine Epidemiology Epidemiology is the branch of medicine that deals with the incidence, distribution, and possible control of diseases and other factors relating to health (Schneider, 8). In 1847, a Viennese obstetrician by the name of Ignac Semmelweis discovered the importance of handwashing in a hospital setting (Gawande, 15). Before the discovery of antibiotics, childbed fever was the number one cause of maternal death in childbirth. Semmelweis realized by not washing their hands, doctors were the ones responsible for carrying the bacteria that caused the fever from mother to mother. After implementing strict hand washing rules the death rate of mothers decreased from 20% to 1% almost overnight (Gawande, 15). Discoveries like the one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scientists have yet to discover what exactly causes BSE but the leading theory is that it is caused by prions infectious agents made entirely out of protein that are usually found in the brain and spinal cord and can only currently be treated if caught before symptoms arise. Humans that eat infected meat may be infected with Creutzfeldt Jakob disease which causes brain lesions that ultimately kill the infected. Another important function of epidemiology is the control of disease. Epidemiologists are tasked with researching and creating vaccines. A vaccine is a substance used to kickstart the production of antibodies and help build a resistance to one or several diseases, created from a part of the existing disease or a man made substance. To create the vaccines scientists have to do thousands of hours of research and testing. There are many different types of vaccines; some deactivate the disease, some weaken it, and some even use a piece of the bacteria or virus to counteract its ill effects. If a vaccine cannot be found epidemiologists can use the factors that facilitate the transmission of the disease also known as determinants of the disease ,such as where it is spreading and the medium it uses to travel , to keep it from spreading. An example of a disease without a vaccine but with clear determinants is HIV. Epidemiologist do not only work with diseases that are infectious they also work with chronic ... • 16. The Maltese Front And The Novel Of The Maltese Falcon The film of the Maltese Falcon and the novel of the Maltese Falcon share some stark differences along with certain similarities that the film and novel hold. John Huston who directed the film of the Maltese Falcon shows Sam Spade a little differently as to how Dashiell Hammett portrays him. Both do share some commonalities between them, yet we see a greater split from novel to film in the final scene of the Maltese Falcon. The film portrays Spade as this stoic, cold hearted detective. Yet, the novel displays Spade as a more dominate grabbing man that needs answers now. The film differs from the novel as we see Spade portrayed in the film as a cold and stoic character as we see him in the novel as a more dominate and persistent character. As we progress through the final scene Sam Spadebriskly moves on to alert the authorities about having Cairo and Gutman on the move. The novel shows Sam after putting the receiver down to appear nervous he wet his lips and looked down at his hands. Their palms were wet. He filled his deep chest with air. His eyes we glittering between straightened lids (p. 574). As to the film when we see Spade hang up the phone he briskly approaches Brigid trying to get as much information out of her as he can before the police arrive in the film at 1:28:52. As we see in the novel Hammett wanted to show Spade as being nervous for what is about to happen and for how aggressive he will be in order to get all of the information needed prior to the police arriving. Huston doesn t show any of that, but goes straight into getting all of the information out of Brigid as soon as possible. Leaving a major lack in character for the film Spade as compared to the novel Spade. Next, we follow to see Spade grabs Brigid and says G d damn you, talk! (p. 575) which shows Spade as a dominate and demanding individual. The significance of him grabbing executes this notion of dominance and the meaning of how important this is to Spade. In the film Spade at that moment wasn t as forceful to get this information out of Brigid. Crude birth rate, crude death rate, natural increase rate, life expectancy and so on. Each of those are methods used by geographers to measure population. Geographers should not only look at those methods when trying to figure out the populationdifferences. Some social factors like the economy, culture, lifestyle and the government contributes in the differences in population. Crude birth rateand life expectancy are the two most important indicators that can help a geographer understand why is there differences in the population. Crude birth rate is an immensely important factor because not in all courtiers a woman is having up to seven children. According to statista Niger is a country with the highest crude birth rate because women are estimated to have 6.76 children per women. However, China has the largest population in the world and in the Washington post it states that China allows couples to only have two children. It is also mentioned that although the government allows couples to have two children most people only have one child. People in China prefer to just have one child because is extremely costly. In the Washington post it indicates that to prepare a child to succeed in the country s competitive schools and workplaces, parents must invest lots of time and money in a child for schooling, extracurricular activities, and outside tutoring, often for college entrance and English proficiency exams . This type of factors makes the difference in population. The economy is not the same around the world and in the countries that are poor women do not health care and that means they can not be put on birth control. Crude birth rate explains why some countries population is bigger than others. If women in some countries are having 5 and more children the population is going be higher than in countries that women are having one child. In this case, China can not be included because although you are allowed to just have two children, China was already over populated and had to come up with the one child policy. Data Mining and Warehousing Techniques Background One of the most promising developments in the field of computing and computer memory over the past few decades has been the ability to bring tremendous complex and large data sets into database management that are both affordable and workable for many organizations. Improvement in computer power has also allowed for the field of artificial intelligence to evolve which also improves the sifting of massive amounts of information for appropriate use in business, military, governmental, and academic venues. In any data warehousing model, the ultimate success of the operation is entirely dependent upon the strengths and weaknesses of the information delivery tools. If the tools are effective, data will be available in a robust manner that it ultimately appropriate for the end user. Because there are so many different types of delivery mechanisms, the data must be available in a variety of formats. • 33. What Is The Future Of Toys R Us The Future of Toys R Us The retail industry is currently going through extremely difficult times companies need to rethink what products they sell and how they sell. Toys R Us is a prime example of a company currently juggling this crucial problem. After recently filing for bankruptcy, they introduced some strategic changes that they would be making to their traditional brook and mortar stores. These changes are intended to excite the customer and to encourage them to return to their stores. With new innovating ideas, they hope it will be enough for their existing customers, and attractive to possible new customers. They will know soon enough if their efforts are enough. Toys R Us has not always been the retail giant they are today. It was founded by Charles P. Lazarus; at the time, a young entrepreneur. After returning from World War II, he contemplated what type of store he should operate. He began selling baby furniture, but then began to carry a few toys. He noticed that people would keep coming back to his store to shop his merchandize. The store then began to carry a larger and larger assortment of options for his customers. In the late 1950 s, Charles restructured his company and introduced the format that many of us have grown accustomed to when entering a Toys R Us. The company has since grown to operate more than 800 stores around the world (History, n.d.). On September 28, 2017, Toy R Us reviled to the world how they believed they would turn ... Onychomycosis Essay Onychomycosis Onychomycosis, also known as ringworm of the nail, is a fungal infection that primarily influences either the fingernails or the toenails (though toenails are more susceptible). Such an affliction may correlate on any part of the nail, visible or not, including the nail bed, nail plate, and nail matrix, which is located behind the cuticle, and beneath the skin. Onychomycosis is far from life threatening, being among the most common nail diseases that afflict adults. Nevertheless, it s a fungal infection, and is therefore highly contagious. In her study of onychomycosis, dermatologist Boni Elewski commented, ...onychomycosis is all too often regarded as merely a cosmetic problem of relatively minor importance that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The risk factors for onychomycosis include one s family history, old age, poor health or lack of hygiene, living in a warm climate, involvement in fitness activities that cause the body to sweat, immunosuppression (often from HIV or certain drugs), bathing in communal showers (such as at a gym), and wearing closed shoes that let in any air circulation. Failure to take care of personal hygiene and washing your body regularly combined with old age and a low immune system, make a person susceptible to this fungal infection. You literally become a breeding ground for organisms and fungus. Onychomycosis is caused by three main classes of organisms. They are dermatophytes (fungi that infect hair, skin, nails, and feed on the tissue of nails), yeasts, and nondermatophyte molds. All three classes cause the same symptoms, so the appearance of the infection does not tell which class is responsible for the infection. Dermatophytes are, by far, the most common causes of onychomycosis worldwide. Yeasts cause 8% of cases, and nondermatophyte molds cause 2% of onychomycosis cases (Ratz). Treatment of onychomycosis is challenging because the infection is embedded within the nail and is difficult to reach. As a result, full removal of symptoms is very slow and may take a year or ... Despite this the manufacturing strategies debate between material requirements planning (MRP) and lean manufacturing is still disputed. On one side is the philosophy that MRP software is required to adequately plan production. On the other side is the lean philosophy, which argues that these planning tools are too rigid to reflect actual production environments and ultimately impede effective production. This essay will assess if lean synchronisation is an alternative to material requirements planning. Material Requirements Planning Principles MRP was developed in the 1970 s as an inventory management system. The principle relied on conducting detailed planning to ensure that parts and materials ware obtained in time to meet the manufacturing process. It was a major step forward at the time as it capitalized on the use of the computer to generate the supply orders. (rf) The use of computers allowed operations managers to track supplies orders, obtain secondary materials and enabled precise stock levels to be measured easily. Now almost all MRP systems use computes. This led to companies creating production schedules that focused on obtaining resources to match the output level of production. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the original and still most active fields of research in metal organic frameworks is in gas separation. While the ability of both rigid and flexible MOFs to adsorb is based on such factors as geometry of the gas as well as sorbate sorbent interactions, flexible MOFs are also dependent on structural rearrangements and the ability of the pore to change with thermodynamic conditions. Currently, most MOF investigations into gas separation are conducted by measuring the sorption and desorption of specific gases and relating isothermic data. • 54. Voting Behavior Many political science researchers study the forces that drive the vote. One of the earliest, and most well known, books about election studies is The American Voter.
