The Stock Market And Stock Exchange
This paper will encompass the importance of the U.S stock market/stock exchange versus the Chinese
stock market/ stock exchange, with a brief introduction about how each stock market/stock exchange
came into existence, the importance of each stock market/stock exchange, how the U.S and Chinese
manage their stock markets/stock exchange, how corporations are appointed plus the rules and
regulations. This will also entail random facts about each stock market/stock exchange. Stock markets
are like hitting a royal flush, if the price of your stocks goes up, you win; if it drops, you lose! The
stock market, also known as the fairness market, is one in which shares are owned by companies and
their shareholders. The companies that are on the stock market, its stocks are issued and traded
publicly, through either exchanges or over the counter markets. The stock market is considered to be
one of the most critical components of a gratuitous market economy that provides companies with
access to dominance in exchange for giving investor s the opportunity to have some type of possession
of the company. The stock market gives those the power to invest monies, and to capitalize on their
gains. This in return can bring about wealth to some without having to take a financial risk in starting
up a new business.
The U.S stock market came into existence on May 17, 1792 followed by the stock exchange coming
into existence on March 8, 1817, at Wall Street, lower Manhattan, New York City, New

James Galvin s On The Sadness Of Wedding Dresses
Gorgeous beading, glittering sequins, and pearly white are some of the words brides use to describe
their wedding dresses. Once weddings are over, brides normally take every precaution to preserve this
most expensive, treasured, and prized item. Even after years of marriage, wives fondly recall the hours
spent searching for the perfect dress and playfully ponder whether the beauty still fits. However, in
contrast to the typical feelings associated with a bride s wedding dress, a close reading of James
Galvin s poem On the Sadness of Wedding Dresses offers a unique perspective of worn wedding
dresses.
Upon initial reading, the poem s title, genre, and speaker offer a unique perspective on a normally
exciting aspect of weddings: the dress. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The word sadness immediately stands out in the title indicating opposite feelings normally associated
with wedding dresses. To continue, the words sad story are repeated in lines 27 and 28 (Galvin).
Galvin also repeats the word closet in line 4, 11, 14, 20, and 29; alone and forgotten in the darkness of
a closet emphasizes the unique perspective of abandonment as opposed to a treasured item. From
there, Galvin repetitively makes additional word choices that emphasize the sad, lonely, and
abandoned feelings used wedding dresses experience. Galvin makes word choices such as starless,
hopeless, darkness, hollow, dump, gone, and disappear. These words all connotate a dark, lonely, and
abandoned feeling. Moreover, Galvin incorporates the words yellow, smoke, and flames. Packed away
wedding dresses turn an ugly yellow while the lucky wedding dresses go up in smoke and flames;
neither scenario are connected to the traditional view of a keepsake. To further the unique tone Galvin
associates with wedding dresses, he integrates words such as weeping, longing, and waiting. The
connotation of Galvin s word choices elicit a deep yearning for a better outcome that will
unfortunately never come for his abandoned wedding

College Drinking In College
Attending parties and binge drinking in college is a very regular occurrence for young adults these
days. Across the country, campuses have had more students who are experiencing alcohol problems
and alcohol related injuries than ever before. This is due to the fact that alcohol is so readily available
wherever you go. It can be obtained in liquor stores, grocery stores, superstores and even the local
shop on the corner of your street. This is especially true on college campuses, where students may not
be mature or responsible enough to handle the effects that come with drinking. From weekly drink
specials at the bars, to Greek life parties, a college campus can be an easy place to acquire and develop
a drinking problem. There was a recent national survey taken that found almost sixty percent of
college students drank alcohol in the past month alone, and around two thirds of these students
engaged in binge drinking during that period. It is very easy to be peer pressured into drinking; it can
seem like a lot of fun at the time and new students wanting to fit in can sometimes feel obliged to do
so. As there is drinking occurring almost every night on a college campus it can be hard to find
yourself out of place if you start to develop a drinking habit. There will always typically be people you
know going out and partying, and therefore if other people are doing it then why can t you? No one
ever thinks anything bad will happen to them, thus they drink without concern and can

Fat Tax And Its Effects On The Nation s Health
The current problem with overweight became more and more serious with sad effects on the nation s
health, especially for the young generation, that s why the probability of implementing fat tax
constantly increased in spite of the strong power of the opposition, such as McDonald s, Burger King,
KFC, Subway, Starbucks, and others. More than one third of Americans have problems with
overweight and obesity, the Fat Tax can be a way to pay more attention of society on the problem with
obesity, promote a healthy eating lifestyle, improve public health and refill government budget, but it
was important to make implementing slowly and thoughtfully for getting best results instead of
collapsing and higher prices on products. By implementing Fat Tax government will get more
attention from public about what they eat. Often people don t realize how bad their diet is, how many
unnecessarily fat and sugar they consume. In the words of Tiffin (2011), Although fat taxes have the
potential to effect marginal changes in the diets of large numbers of people, and thus have a significant
impact on the incidence of disease across the population, more complex policies, which target
different levels in society, are likely to be more effective in addressing the severe chronic dietary
disease that affects some groups. So it s obvious that it should be a well developed plan for 10 20
years. Many countries attempted to develop a strategy of the decreasing popularity of junk food. For

As I sit back and consider the Penn State Sandusky scandal, I discovered that pretty much every
function for the organization changed. When it comes to management, they have to be held
accountable for their actions. They also have to communicate more and better to ensure another
incident such as the Sandusky sex scandal happens again. As for human resources, they have to ensure
they are holding internal stakeholders accountable for their actions or non actions. For Penn State,
things can no longer be swept under the rug which is where the media comes in. Penn State s public

Multiple Case Study Analysis Essay
Summary
This is an education research paper that explores the qualitative research method known as Multiple
Case Study Analysis. It will look at design, implementation, and analysis. It will further touch on what
is meant by a case study in itself.
Introduction
As asserted by Stake (2006), The multicase study is a special effort to examine something having lots
of cases, parts, or members (p. vi), which by the study of those parts, is able to then better understand
the something as a whole, and the ways in which it functions across different scenarios. In other
words, it attempts to explore and understand a specific issue or phenomenon, within its context, by
examining the individual parts, or cases, which make it up. Stake ... Show more content on

If the intended methodological design is a qualitative multiple case study, then each case must be
known completely, which leaves little attention to the quintain. This forced split of the research
analyst s attention is what Stake (2006) describes as the case quintain dilemma (p. 1).
Single Case Studies Developing theory from case studies is a research scheme that involves the
utilization of multiple cases in an effort to create notional theories and proposals from case based
empirical evidence (Eisenhardt, 1989), and since a multiple case study is basically made up of various
individual case studies, the understanding of basic case study methodology is essential. Creswell
(1998) describes a case study as a qualitative research method in which the researcher explores a
bounded system (what Stake refers to as the quintain), through thorough detailed data collection over
a period of time, involving various collection sources, which results in the materialization of case
based theses and reports. Stake (2006) states that these processes are so involved, that for every hour a
researcher spends collecting data, he needs an additional six hours for things such as recording,
describing, preparing, reflecting, and the like. In his book, Stake (2006) provides a diagramed outline

Explain What Role Does Passionfruit Play In Horticulture
Passionfruit approx. 1300 words Scientific name : Passiflora edulis (World Crops Database, 2012)
Passiflora edulis, more commonly known as passionfruit plays an important economic role in
horticulture for Australia. There are over 400 species in the Passiflora family however the 2 most
common and commercially grown varieties of Passionfruit are the purple and yellow varieties of
Passiflora edulis (Passionfruit Juice, 2015; Shaffer Andersen, 1994). Botany Passionfruit vines are
vigorous woody perennial plants (World Crops Database, 2012). They produce round to oval shaped
berries which are approximately 5cm long and have a hard outer casing which is either purple or
yellow depending on the variety (Schaffer Andersen, 1994). The fruit ... Show more content on

If insufficient fertiliser or the wrong nutrients are applied productivity can be compromised. Hence, it
is important farmers undertake regular soil and leaf analysis to determine an appropriate fertiliser
regime for maximum production (Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries,
2012). The climate evidently has a huge influence on productivity. For example, temperatures over 30
degrees can limit flower and pollen production, whilst temperatures below 10 degrees can limit
vegetative growth both of which in turn limit yields (Janick and Paull, 2008). Although the extent of
damage may vary depending on the specific variety of passionfruit under production. Hence, the
variety of passionfruit can limit productivity. Different varieties are suited to different climates and
growing conditions. In general yellow fruited varieties are more productive and produce higher yields
than purple fruited varieties. However there are a large variety of different cultivars and hybrids which
vary in productivity and yields (Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries,
2012). The presence of ample pollinators such as carpenter bees has significant impacts on
productivity. Without sufficient levels of pollinators to ensure all flowers are pollinated, production
can be severely limited (Bee Aware,

Water Molecules Research Paper
Why is water an important molecule? Intermolecular Forces
Water is one of the most important molecules as it creates and supports life on earth. Water covers
75% of the surface of the earth and around 78% of the mass of the human body (infoplease.com,
2000). Its abundance, unique properties, chemical and physical interaction are the reason behind its
importance. The chemical composition of water is H2O. It is a polar, covalently bonded molecule.
A covalently bonded molecule shares electrons between the atoms so each atoms outer shell is full.
Covalently bonded molecules are not partially charged, except for polar covalent bonds. Molecules
with polar covalent bonds have partial charges. Within the water molecule, the oxygen atoms unevenly
share the electrons since they have more protons. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Water can also be found in all three states of matter naturally on Earth because it has a low melting
and boiling point, due its covalent bonds. Cohesion is when molecules are more attracted to each other
than the surrounding molecules. Dipole Dipole forces and hydrogen bonds are responsible for
cohesion. Adhesion the opposite of cohesion, when there is a greater electronegativity difference
between other molecules than themselves. Figure 4. Diagram of meniscus and capillary action of
water due to cohesion and adhesion (study.com, 2016)
Capillary action is a process where water molecules climb up a narrow tube / material due to kinetic
energy and a combination of cohesive and adhesive forces. Refer to appendix 1 for an experiment
demonstrating this. Surface tension is the result of a high concentration of bonds on the surface of
water. When water molecules have nothing to bond with above their surface, they concentrate forming
a barrier. Figure 5. Intermolecular forces on the surface and body of water (Wikimedia,

Byzantine Empire Dbq
People say that the Byzantine Empire is compared to an accordion. Well, it is. Comparing all of the
civilizations and empires we learned about, I find that the Byzantine has a history, where people living
in that empire rise at on time and fall inconsiderably during another time. The Byzantine Empire is an
empire ruled by Emperor Justantine, and Constantinople was the imperial capital of the Byzantine
world until it was invaded by the Turks in 1453. Now, how does the imperial capital, Constantinople,
Hagia Sophia, Justinian, and the Crusaders involve in the Byzantine Empire? I find that geography
and the achievements of the Empire can be two strong reasoning s on how and why we should study
the Byzantine Empire. The geography of the Byzantine Empire is quite a lot. I find that
Constantinople was located on a peninsula, and it was surrounded by harbors. So, we could infer that
they chose to change the capital of the Byzantine Empire in order to get protection. So, you can
understand that the Byzantine Empire was located near the eastern frontier for more protection. Plus,

The Merchant s Tale Analysis
Love is amazing. It is difficult to find but once it is found, love can be the most amazing thing to have.
In the 1400 s it was rare to find a noble wedding that was filled with love. People that were unhappy
or uncomfortable in their relationships were more likely to have cheated on their spouse or deceive
them to get what they want. In the Merchant s Tale of Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales, an
older knight named January order s to find a very young wife. January finds a beautiful young woman
named May, who soon becomes his wife, despite her not being in love with him. May then falls in
love with one of the knight s squires, Damian. They send notes to each other and keep their love a
secret as best as they can. Damian and May finally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chaucer also demonstrates acts similar to these in many of his other tales within this novel. In the
Miller s Tale Alison and a young male student trick her husband into believing that a flood is going to
hit, and then sneak out to be together while her husband is in hiding. The two create an elaborate plan
to fill each other s sexual needs and desires. The Wife of Bath s Prologue involves stories the Wife of
Bath s tells of her deceiving her husbands to get what she wants whether it be money, power or beauty,
she lies and bribes her husbands into doing things for her. It is also significant that Chaucer decides to
name the characters in this tale January and May . A relationship when one spouse is significantly
older than the other is called a May December relationship. It is somewhat humorous that he names
his characters these names because it foreshadows that this will be a relationship where one is
significantly older than the other. The age difference was a very significant part of this tale. The age
difference between May and January, is why May was unsatisfied, which led her to cheat on him and
then lie to January about the affair. The Merchant s Tale argues that unsatisfied women will play their
spouse to get what satisfies

A Man s Search For Meaning Narrative Analysis
In a Man s Search for Meaning narrative written by, Viktor, Frankl is a Must Read book! He honestly
describes and explain his various experiences in the concentration camp, not only is he being
descriptive but he also gives an official man experience from what he has been apart of and what was
seen. This narrative allows you to better understand what was being done to these individuals from a
psychological standpoint, meaning our mental. Imagine yourself, being tormented, tortured, verbally
and physically abused, but still must hold yourself upright just to avoid the abuse; there s no way
around it. These individuals, were abused day and night; even if they were a half of inch out of place.
Frankl, begins with a question that states, But does a man who makes his observations while he
himself is a prisoner possess the necessary detachment? Such detachment is granted to the outsider,
but he is too far removed to make any statements of real value. This stood out to me, being that I am
of a female gender; I could reverse the roles to better understand the question he posed. It is difficult
to observe oneself when you are a prisoner, not just physically but mentally. The mental is what
enables us as humans to process information but also perform daily tasks. Frankl, talks about a
condition known as, delusion of reprieve meaning that our mental tends to make us believe that there
is a way out or around the situation or maybe a consequence that will deter punishment from our
actions, but in actuality there isn t. The prisoners suffered though these illusions, quite often because
they never know when an officer may abuse them or possibly be taken to the crematorium. Frankl,
also poses another question once him and the others are forced to strip of their clothing asking; What
else remained for us as a material link with our former lives? At this point, the prisoners are now
equals. Everybody wears the same clothes, look the same and talk the same. How can one that was a
well paid doctor to now being held captive at a concentration camp? In this day in age, it wouldn t
happen. The technologies that have been developed and overall evolution, it s not possible to conduct
that type of activity anymore. Society is

Grimm Brothers Collective Culture
The Grimm brothers lived in a factioned Germany with many different cultures that were struggling to
connect with one another. In attempts to help unify Germany the Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm,
traveled throughout the country; listening, collecting, and writing down oral stories and fables from
various regions in Germany. They believed that preserving oral culture and stories from various places
in Germany would nationalize Germany by having a collective culture rather than many different
cultures. With seven total editions and a dictionary, preserving culture and unifying Germany was
their life goal. Writing down these oral stories and collecting them assisted in the formation of
Germany as a nation rather than multiple different imagined communities. Most nations have a shared
common culture and an official language. The Grimm brothers helped usher in an age of oneness in
Germany and in doing so, Germany became a more unified nation.
At the time that the Grimm brothers were collecting their stories, Germany was many different groups
of people, differing by region. They were not what we consider today a nation. A nation is an
imagined political community and imagined as both inherently limited and

sovereign. (1. Anderson) The term imagined in this sense refers to a group of people who know that
they belong to one another through shared beliefs, however, they will never meet everyone who is also

engrained in the lives of its members as reoccurring behaviors. When these activities lose their appeal

The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Essay
The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle debate s primary focus was on the
unspoken concern of the actual cost of the mammoth vehicles. What followed was a blend of
discussions ranging from financial costs to lives cost on the battlefield. A different debate
centered on the size of the vehicles, which separated the soldiers from the population, and
counter to the idea of counterinsurgency. While the MRAP procurement was different from the
typical acquisition program, the success of the program was because of a collaborative effort by
the Department of Defense (DOD) to change the acquisition process, while contractors absorbed
financial risk to develop and build a product with no certainty of gaining a lucrative long term
contract. While the future security of the nation relies on forces armed with the best equipment,
the United States must continue to develop and refine the acquisition process initiated during the

removing regulations, accepting risk and avoiding any delay in equipment fielding while
working within the acquisition community to collaborate with those manufacturers willing to

The Sitcom
The Sitcom Similarities between Ourselves and the Characters
A sitcom, short for situation comedy, is a comic television series made up of episodes involving the
same group of characters in a recurring situation. When watching a sitcom one sees characters deal
with life in an unmethodical, irrational, but humorous style.
The ability to bring laughter out of situations dates back to variety shows, but dedicating a whole
program around a group of characters is fairly new considering the long history of comedy. By being
situational, sitcoms tend to poke fun at or bring the irony out of certain issues in life, whether at home
or in the workplace. Because many people encounter these problems everyday, designing comedy
programs with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Drew Carey Show, Spin City, Murphy Brown, and Taxi revolve around the characters jobs and
actual work place. Some situations touched on are dealing with co workers, bosses, getting fired,
getting re hired, and asking for raises. These are, of course, all dealt with in irrational and
unconventional methods. A third genre of the sitcom revolves around dating and relationships. There
are few early sitcoms about dating and relationships because past generations saw these as personal
areas of life which were not supposed to be glamorized. As times changed and television became more
liberal, shows like Friends, Mad About You, Mary Tyler Moore, and Seinfeld became more popular.
These shows concentrate mainly on dating, married life, and singles life intertwined with a job, or
particular lifestyle.
The reaction of the characters is not always conventional because these programs are designed to be
funny. One major point that becomes apparent when one examines comedy is that it is based on
absurdity. The character of Kramer from Seinfeld is the ideal example of absurdity. Some of Kramer s
past accomplishments include collecting tons of recycling in a get rich scheme, turning Jerry s kitchen
into a butcher shop, marketing his own perfume, seeing how far a car can drive after the gas tank

described as the natural from of delivery in which the baby enters the world through the vagina. A

Vaginal delivery stiches dissolve on their own within ten days, making a Cesarean incision

eradicate them without harm. Vaginal delivery doesn t always entail an incision, but an episiotomy is
performed majority of the time. It is possible to tear the perineum if an episiotomy is not performed,
needing stiches to repair the tear. It is important to care for the stitched perineum, as it s possible to
contract an infection like a Cesarean incision. An article I read stated, to help heal your perineum,
keep the area as clean and dry as possible ( Vaginal ). Flushing the area with a spray bottle of fresh
water is suggested, followed by properly drying it, after each bathroom visit. The main care
instruction for life after labor is to keep the openings as clean and as sanitary as possible. Although C
section and Vaginal delivery incisions are on different regions of the body and require diverse
treatment, washing the incisions with soap and warm water is a must in order to heal correctly. Giving
birth is an intense process which, unfortunately, causes misery in the aftermath. After delivery, both
types of childbirth produce pain, site and intensity of the pain determine medications needed. Location
of the incisions being in different areas is what causes the pain to be dissimilar for a Cesarean and
vaginal childbirth.

Jet Blue Case Analysis
Jetblue Case Analysis
Jetblue set out to provide its customers with a great airlines experience. Neeleman s goal was to
provide customers with the types of amenities reserved for the pricier carriers, including wider seats
......and 24 channels of in flight television ( Case study pg 400) One of Jetblue and Neeleman s biggest
challenges was to keep offering all these amenities while still competing with the big carriers by
keeping their prices 50 to 60 percent lower on the same routes. As they grew and hired more
employees they found it harder to maintain the same level of customer service across the board. Also
other carriers began to compete with them in the lowprice arena. These bigger airlines had more

JetBlue announced it would spend $20 to $30 million in effort to appease thousands of stranded
customers that were affected. The Bill of Rights works by offering vouchers to customers who
experience delayed flights while flying with JetBlue. $25 for flights delayed one to two hours and up
to a free round trip ticket for flights delayed up to 6 hours. Will the Customer s Bill of Rights work in
recovering the image JetBlue has tried so hard to create? In my opinion, yes I do think it will. Angry
customers who had to deal with the delays on the initial happening will be provided an entire free
ticket, and customers who deal with this in the future will be provided with vouchers or tickets as
well. What else can an airline company do, errors happen and some may be out of the company s
control. The company must deal with how the error is handled and that is exactly what JetBlue is
doing.
Several actions and guidelines should be followed by JetBlue in order to insure the companies
viability and future success. The launch of the Cutover s Bill or Rights was a good step in the right
direction, but company executives must work closely with their public affairs team to raise its
awareness. JetBlue executives must also work with marketing executives to promote the Customer
Bill of Rights with large stakeholder groups and already existing customers. JetBlue executives must
support this bill of rights 100% in order to restore the company s image. This means following

Ethical Issues In Chile
In a globalized market, where profits can be maximized, lenient regulations are expected, and with
environmental oversight, global managers are often faced with making ethical decisions. According to
Satterlee (2014), Ethically speaking, one of the most important issues global business professionals
may face is that of being socially responsible in the cultures in which they choose to do business (p.
52). In Chile, with an open market and being ranked 22 out of 177 on corruption, ethically conducting
business is important to the business professionals: to continue to grow a thriving diverse economy
and to reduce poverty levels and to enrich the lives of the people (Albuja Merino, 2017). It is

Thirdly, education is valued and seen as a potential pathway to creating equality and furthering the
reduction in poverty in Chile (Kretzschmar, 2014). According to Kretzschmar (2014), Another key
strategy of poverty alleviation was the improvements in education (p. 4). Thus, Kretzschmar (2014)
makes an excellent point, on how the positive impact of education will affect the Chilean society.
Also, there is the value placed on education by the government that goes beyond primary and
secondary schooling, through an initiative called Chile Grows With You which is designed for
children from birth to five years to receive affordable early education programs (Peralta,

A Group Of Two Hundred
A group of two hundred Watcher class fallen angels descended to Mount Hermon. These were special
angels commissioned by God to watch and observe humans and human activity on Earth. In my
opinion, these fallen angels , under the direction of Satan, took an oath to take human wives and create
human hybrids in order to corrupt the human genome.
From the book of Enoch:
6.1 And it came to pass, when the sons of men had increased, that in those days there were born to
them fair and beautiful daughters.
6.2 And the Angels, the sons of Heaven, saw them and desired them. And they said to one another:
Come, let us choose for ourselves wives, from the children of men, and let us beget, for ourselves,
children.

Not only did the fallen angels corrupt the human genome, they corrupted the animals as well. And
they began to sin against birds, and against animals, and against reptiles, and against fish (Verse 7.5).
The fallen angels created hybrid creatures. These creatures were part human, bird, fish, and mammal.
This passage will be of interest in later chapters.
God punished the watcher angels by binding them and placing them in complete and utter darkness. In
other words, complete sensory deprivation until the Great Day of Judgement. God also forced them to
watch as their sons killed one another in a Nephilim civil war.
From the book of Enoch:
10.4 And further the Lord said to Raphael: Bind Azazel by his hands and his feet and throw him into
the darkness. And split open the desert, which is in Dudael, and throw him there.
10.5 And throw on him jagged and sharp stones and cover him with darkness. And let him stay there
forever. And cover his face so that he may not see the light.
10.6 And so that, on the Great Day of Judgment, he may be hurled into the fire. 10.9 And the Lord
said to Gabriel: Proceed against the bastards, and the reprobates, and against the sons of the
fornicators. And destroy the sons of the fornicators, and the sons of the Watchers, from amongst men.
And send them out, and send them

Fear, Guilt, and Regret in Macbeth by William Shakespeare
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth the reader watches as Macbeth changes gradually as the play
endures. He are transforms from a loyal person with a loving and loyal disposition with other people,
into a tyrants who are willing to kill in order to keep himself on the throne. He is tormented with fear,
regret, and guilt. When someone does something they know is wrong it causes them to fall prey to
their own emotions. After Duncan s death you are able to see how the characters involved in the
murder almost instantly experience feelings of regret. There is a scene where Macbeth is in shock so
greatly after murdering Duncan, that he forgets to leave the murder weapon behind. When confronted
by Lady Macbeth(who says he needs to go return the weapons) he says, I ll go no more: / I am afraid
to think what I have done; / Look on t again I dare not ( 2.2 53 55). This allows us to see how Macbeth
is pained by what he has done. Macbeth also says he heard a voice say Glamis hath murdered sleep,
and therefore Cawdor shall sleep no more. Macbeth shall sleep no more. ( 2.2 46 48). When Macbeth
says this he is saying that he has not only murdered Duncan, but he has murdered sleep. He is saying
he won t be able to sleep after what he has just done because he will regret it forever and it will haunt
him. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are interrupted by knocking on the door and as Macbeth and Lady
Macbeth walk away he says, Wake Duncan with thy knocking; I would though couldst. ( 2.2 78 79).

Commercial Whaling Essay examples
Commercial whaling is a serious world issue that has always been difficult for those who are in
support and those who are against it. Each group defends their side with convincing arguments.
Morally, whaling is wrong, but do the reasons for whaling outweigh the reasons to cease the primitive
hunts? By studying the effects of whaling, realizing how culture has changed over time, and taking
note of the money that would be saved, it can clearly be seen that there is no longer a current need for
whaling to continue. Efforts have been made to try to stop whaling, but with no help from any
authoritative figure, nothing has been done to regulate the whaling. The famous sea shepherd, known
for its strikes against whaling, can even be seen on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the cities that would fall under such a category would be New Bedford, Massachusetts, known
as the whaling city, it was essential to have a place where sailors could sell the meat and make a profit
(Hoare).
In 1946 the newly formed International Whaling Commission enacted a global moratorium on
commercial whaling (Robbins). The IWC was formed in hopes of protecting whales and making sure
that whales were spared. Without enforcement of the rules and restrictions for any nations, the
problem has not gone away. Without whales the ecosystem begins to falter, the whale being one of the
vital producers, and consumers of the ocean. There are countries that refused to agree to the terms of
the moratorium, regardless of the damage such actions would cause. The moratorium permits whaling
for scientific research, and that is the mask current whaling countries hide behind (Zelko). They argue
that they are not violating any restrictions, because Article 8 of the 1946 moratorium states that
whaling for scientific research is not part of the agreement (McCurry). During the 1970 s people
began to care about the whales that were being killed faster than they could reproduce (Robbins). In
1986 whaling was officially banned, some nations ignored the ban, and still do. In 1993, meat DNA
tested at a fish market in Japan showed that whale meat was clearly being sold, but there were no
consequences. The ban made by the IWC is not

Air Canada Five Forces Analysis
Porter s Five Forces is a simple but powerful tool that consist of 5 different forces to understand the
competitiveness of your business environment, and for identifying your strategy s potential
profitability. The five forces are degree of rivalry, threat of entry, threat of substitutions, buyer power,
and supplier power. Each force is helpful in their own way to get to know your rivals a lot better and
get to know what can happen in your market.
Air Canada
Force #1 Degree of Rivalry
The number of rivals that Air Canada would have would depend on the location of the airports. The
major competitors for Air Canada are American Airlines Group, Delta Air Lines, WestJet Airlines, and
Porter Airlines. The quality of these other airlines depends on each of their planes, some of Delta Air
Lines planes are a lot bigger so they can offer a lot more than Air Canada. Air Canada offers a lot of
services as they have a lot of flights that fly from city to city in Canada unlike Delta or American air
lines. Air Canada competes a lot with WestJet and Porter airlines in Canada. Rivalry is more intense at
bigger airports around Canada. For example, Charlottetown only has three different airlines that
currently fly here every week. Where in Toronto they experience a lot more air traffic so more airlines
can offer better deals to fly somewhere from Toronto to anywhere in the world where Charlottetown.
If people in Charlottetown can find a better flight from Moncton or Halifax they might

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
One Day in the life of Ivan Denisovich was the first novel written by the Nobel laureate Alexandr
Solzhenitsyn. It revolves around one day in the life of an inmate in a Gulag , which was a name given
to the forced labor camps in the Soviet Union. The novel is set during the winter of 1951 when the
Soviet Union was under the communist rule of Joseph Stalin. The novel can be seen as an
autobiographical account of Solzhenitsyn s life as the author was arrested for making derogatory
remarks about Stalin, following which he spent a long time in prisons and labor camps very similar to
the one described in the novel. The novel has been written in the first person narrative through the
eyes of Ivan Denisovich who is serving his eighth year of his ten year sentence. Shukhov, as Ivan

would lick the leftovers of the other zeks and would beg for almost anything he could get, in turn
losing his self respect and dignity among the members of his squad. There was also a lot of corruption
in the kitchens. The cooks would eat as much as their belly would , and offer extra helpings to those

The companies that are on the stock market, its stocks are issued and traded publicly, through either exchanges or over the counter markets. • 3. James Galvin s On The Sadness Of Wedding Dresses Gorgeous beading, glittering sequins, and pearly white are some of the words brides use to describe their wedding dresses. Once weddings are over, brides normally take every precaution to preserve this most expensive, treasured, and prized item. Even after years of marriage, wives fondly recall the hours spent searching for the perfect dress and playfully ponder whether the beauty still fits. However, in contrast to the typical feelings associated with a bride s wedding dress, a close reading of James Galvin s poem On the Sadness of Wedding Dresses offers a unique perspective of worn wedding dresses. Upon initial reading, the poem s title, genre, and speaker offer a unique perspective on a normally exciting aspect of weddings: the dress. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The word sadness immediately stands out in the title indicating opposite feelings normally associated with wedding dresses. To continue, the words sad story are repeated in lines 27 and 28 (Galvin). Galvin also repeats the word closet in line 4, 11, 14, 20, and 29; alone and forgotten in the darkness of a closet emphasizes the unique perspective of abandonment as opposed to a treasured item. From there, Galvin repetitively makes additional word choices that emphasize the sad, lonely, and abandoned feelings used wedding dresses experience. Galvin makes word choices such as starless, hopeless, darkness, hollow, dump, gone, and disappear. These words all connotate a dark, lonely, and abandoned feeling. Moreover, Galvin incorporates the words yellow, smoke, and flames. Packed away wedding dresses turn an ugly yellow while the lucky wedding dresses go up in smoke and flames; neither scenario are connected to the traditional view of a keepsake. To further the unique tone Galvin associates with wedding dresses, he integrates words such as weeping, longing, and waiting. The connotation of Galvin s word choices elicit a deep yearning for a better outcome that will unfortunately never come for his abandoned wedding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. College Drinking In College Attending parties and binge drinking in college is a very regular occurrence for young adults these days. Across the country, campuses have had more students who are experiencing alcohol problems and alcohol related injuries than ever before. This is due to the fact that alcohol is so readily available wherever you go. It can be obtained in liquor stores, grocery stores, superstores and even the local shop on the corner of your street. This is especially true on college campuses, where students may not be mature or responsible enough to handle the effects that come with drinking. From weekly drink specials at the bars, to Greek life parties, a college campus can be an easy place to acquire and develop a drinking problem. There was a recent national survey taken that found almost sixty percent of college students drank alcohol in the past month alone, and around two thirds of these students engaged in binge drinking during that period. It is very easy to be peer pressured into drinking; it can seem like a lot of fun at the time and new students wanting to fit in can sometimes feel obliged to do so. As there is drinking occurring almost every night on a college campus it can be hard to find yourself out of place if you start to develop a drinking habit. There will always typically be people you know going out and partying, and therefore if other people are doing it then why can t you? No one ever thinks anything bad will happen to them, thus they drink without concern and can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Fat Tax And Its Effects On The Nation s Health The current problem with overweight became more and more serious with sad effects on the nation s health, especially for the young generation, that s why the probability of implementing fat tax constantly increased in spite of the strong power of the opposition, such as McDonald s, Burger King, KFC, Subway, Starbucks, and others. More than one third of Americans have problems with overweight and obesity, the Fat Tax can be a way to pay more attention of society on the problem with obesity, promote a healthy eating lifestyle, improve public health and refill government budget, but it was important to make implementing slowly and thoughtfully for getting best results instead of collapsing and higher prices on products. By implementing Fat Tax government will get more attention from public about what they eat. Often people don t realize how bad their diet is, how many unnecessarily fat and sugar they consume. In the words of Tiffin (2011), Although fat taxes have the potential to effect marginal changes in the diets of large numbers of people, and thus have a significant impact on the incidence of disease across the population, more complex policies, which target different levels in society, are likely to be more effective in addressing the severe chronic dietary disease that affects some groups. So it s obvious that it should be a well developed plan for 10 20 years. Many countries attempted to develop a strategy of the decreasing popularity of junk food. For example, ... • 7. Multiple Case Study Analysis Essay Summary This is an education research paper that explores the qualitative research method known as Multiple Case Study Analysis. It will look at design, implementation, and analysis. It will further touch on what is meant by a case study in itself. Introduction As asserted by Stake (2006), The multicase study is a special effort to examine something having lots of cases, parts, or members (p. vi), which by the study of those parts, is able to then better understand the something as a whole, and the ways in which it functions across different scenarios. In other words, it attempts to explore and understand a specific issue or phenomenon, within its context, by examining the individual parts, or cases, which make it up. Stake ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the intended methodological design is a qualitative multiple case study, then each case must be known completely, which leaves little attention to the quintain. This forced split of the research analyst s attention is what Stake (2006) describes as the case quintain dilemma (p. 1). Single Case Studies Developing theory from case studies is a research scheme that involves the utilization of multiple cases in an effort to create notional theories and proposals from case based empirical evidence (Eisenhardt, 1989), and since a multiple case study is basically made up of various individual case studies, the understanding of basic case study methodology is essential. Creswell (1998) describes a case study as a qualitative research method in which the researcher explores a bounded system (what Stake refers to as the quintain), through thorough detailed data collection over a period of time, involving various collection sources, which results in the materialization of case based theses and reports. Stake (2006) states that these processes are so involved, that for every hour a researcher spends collecting data, he needs an additional six hours for things such as recording, describing, preparing, reflecting, and the like. Explain What Role Does Passionfruit Play In Horticulture Passionfruit approx. 1300 words Scientific name : Passiflora edulis (World Crops Database, 2012) Passiflora edulis, more commonly known as passionfruit plays an important economic role in horticulture for Australia. There are over 400 species in the Passiflora family however the 2 most common and commercially grown varieties of Passionfruit are the purple and yellow varieties of Passiflora edulis (Passionfruit Juice, 2015; Shaffer Andersen, 1994). Botany Passionfruit vines are vigorous woody perennial plants (World Crops Database, 2012). Hence, it is important farmers undertake regular soil and leaf analysis to determine an appropriate fertiliser regime for maximum production (Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, 2012). The climate evidently has a huge influence on productivity. For example, temperatures over 30 degrees can limit flower and pollen production, whilst temperatures below 10 degrees can limit vegetative growth both of which in turn limit yields (Janick and Paull, 2008). Although the extent of damage may vary depending on the specific variety of passionfruit under production. Hence, the variety of passionfruit can limit productivity. Different varieties are suited to different climates and growing conditions. In general yellow fruited varieties are more productive and produce higher yields than purple fruited varieties. However there are a large variety of different cultivars and hybrids which vary in productivity and yields (Queensland Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, 2012). Without sufficient levels of pollinators to ensure all flowers are pollinated, production can be severely limited (Bee Aware, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Water Molecules Research Paper Why is water an important molecule? Intermolecular Forces Water is one of the most important molecules as it creates and supports life on earth. Water covers 75% of the surface of the earth and around 78% of the mass of the human body (infoplease.com, 2000). Its abundance, unique properties, chemical and physical interaction are the reason behind its importance. The chemical composition of water is H2O. It is a polar, covalently bonded molecule. A covalently bonded molecule shares electrons between the atoms so each atoms outer shell is full. Covalently bonded molecules are not partially charged, except for polar covalent bonds. Molecules with polar covalent bonds have partial charges. Within the water molecule, the oxygen atoms unevenly share the electrons since they have more protons. The ... It is also significant that Chaucer decides to name the characters in this tale January and May . A relationship when one spouse is significantly older than the other is called a May December relationship. It is somewhat humorous that he names his characters these names because it foreshadows that this will be a relationship where one is significantly older than the other. He honestly describes and explain his various experiences in the concentration camp, not only is he being descriptive but he also gives an official man experience from what he has been apart of and what was seen. This narrative allows you to better understand what was being done to these individuals from a psychological standpoint, meaning our mental. Imagine yourself, being tormented, tortured, verbally and physically abused, but still must hold yourself upright just to avoid the abuse; there s no way around it. These individuals, were abused day and night; even if they were a half of inch out of place. Frankl, begins with a question that states, But does a man who makes his observations while he himself is a prisoner possess the necessary detachment? Such detachment is granted to the outsider, but he is too far removed to make any statements of real value. This stood out to me, being that I am of a female gender; I could reverse the roles to better understand the question he posed. It is difficult to observe oneself when you are a prisoner, not just physically but mentally. The mental is what enables us as humans to process information but also perform daily tasks. Frankl, talks about a condition known as, delusion of reprieve meaning that our mental tends to make us believe that there is a way out or around the situation or maybe a consequence that will deter punishment from our actions, but in actuality there isn t. The prisoners suffered though these illusions, quite often because they never know when an officer may abuse them or possibly be taken to the crematorium. Frankl, also poses another question once him and the others are forced to strip of their clothing asking; What else remained for us as a material link with our former lives? At this point, the prisoners are now equals. Everybody wears the same clothes, look the same and talk the same. In attempts to help unify Germany the Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm, traveled throughout the country; listening, collecting, and writing down oral stories and fables from various regions in Germany. They believed that preserving oral culture and stories from various places in Germany would nationalize Germany by having a collective culture rather than many different cultures. With seven total editions and a dictionary, preserving culture and unifying Germany was their life goal. Writing down these oral stories and collecting them assisted in the formation of Germany as a nation rather than multiple different imagined communities. Most nations have a shared common culture and an official language. The Grimm brothers helped usher in an age of oneness in Germany and in doing so, Germany became a more unified nation. At the time that the Grimm brothers were collecting their stories, Germany was many different groups of people, differing by region. They were not what we consider today a nation. What followed was a blend of discussions ranging from financial costs to lives cost on the battlefield. A different debate centered on the size of the vehicles, which separated the soldiers from the population, and counter to the idea of counterinsurgency. While the MRAP procurement was different from the typical acquisition program, the success of the program was because of a collaborative effort by the Department of Defense (DOD) to change the acquisition process, while contractors absorbed financial risk to develop and build a product with no certainty of gaining a lucrative long term contract. While the future security of the nation relies on forces armed with the best equipment, the United States must continue to develop and refine the acquisition process initiated during the fielding of the MRAP. The DOD along with the legislative branch can refine the process by removing regulations, accepting risk and avoiding any delay in equipment fielding while working within the acquisition community to collaborate with those manufacturers willing to produce the best weapons, equipment, and technology for the armed forces. Some situations touched on are dealing with co workers, bosses, getting fired, getting re hired, and asking for raises. These are, of course, all dealt with in irrational and unconventional methods. A third genre of the sitcom revolves around dating and relationships. There are few early sitcoms about dating and relationships because past generations saw these as personal areas of life which were not supposed to be glamorized. As times changed and television became more liberal, shows like Friends, Mad About You, Mary Tyler Moore, and Seinfeld became more popular. These shows concentrate mainly on dating, married life, and singles life intertwined with a job, or particular lifestyle. The reaction of the characters is not always conventional because these programs are designed to be funny. One major point that becomes apparent when one examines comedy is that it is based on absurdity. The character of Kramer from Seinfeld is the ideal example of absurdity. Some of Kramer s past accomplishments include collecting tons of recycling in a get rich scheme, turning Jerry s kitchen into a butcher shop, marketing his own perfume, seeing how far a car can drive after the gas tank needle is under the reserve line, and taking props from the Merv Griffin show to create a talk show in his living ... New moms endure stress in attending to a newborn, but after such an intense labor it is crucial to make caring for themselves a priority. Mothers deliver their babies vaginally or through a Cesarean section, although similarities are present in caring for both, differences do arise. During childbirth they undergo excruciating circumstances no matter which form of delivery they experience. Vaginal birth is described as the natural from of delivery in which the baby enters the world through the vagina. A Cesarean section, also known as C section, is defined as a surgical procedure to deliver the baby through an incision made on the abdomen. Vaginal delivery stiches dissolve on their own within ten days, making a Cesarean incision increasingly more difficult to attain. If the staples entail removal, a trip to the doctor is required to eradicate them without harm. Vaginal delivery doesn t always entail an incision, but an episiotomy is performed majority of the time. It is possible to tear the perineum if an episiotomy is not performed, needing stiches to repair the tear. It is important to care for the stitched perineum, as it s possible to contract an infection like a Cesarean incision. An article I read stated, to help heal your perineum, keep the area as clean and dry as possible ( Vaginal ). Flushing the area with a spray bottle of fresh water is suggested, followed by properly drying it, after each bathroom visit. The main care instruction for life after labor is to keep the openings as clean and as sanitary as possible. Although C section and Vaginal delivery incisions are on different regions of the body and require diverse treatment, washing the incisions with soap and warm water is a must in order to heal correctly. Giving birth is an intense process which, unfortunately, causes misery in the aftermath. After delivery, both types of childbirth produce pain, site and intensity of the pain determine medications needed. Location of the incisions being in different areas is what causes the pain to be dissimilar for a Cesarean and vaginal childbirth. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Fear, Guilt, and Regret in Macbeth by William Shakespeare In William Shakespeare s Macbeth the reader watches as Macbeth changes gradually as the play endures. He are transforms from a loyal person with a loving and loyal disposition with other people, into a tyrants who are willing to kill in order to keep himself on the throne. He is tormented with fear, regret, and guilt. When someone does something they know is wrong it causes them to fall prey to their own emotions. After Duncan s death you are able to see how the characters involved in the murder almost instantly experience feelings of regret. There is a scene where Macbeth is in shock so greatly after murdering Duncan, that he forgets to leave the murder weapon behind. When confronted by Lady Macbeth(who says he needs to go return the weapons) he says, I ll go no more: / I am afraid to think what I have done; / Look on t again I dare not ( 2.2 53 55). This allows us to see how Macbeth is pained by what he has done. Macbeth also says he heard a voice say Glamis hath murdered sleep, and therefore Cawdor shall sleep no more. Macbeth shall sleep no more. ( 2.2 46 48). When Macbeth says this he is saying that he has not only murdered Duncan, but he has murdered sleep. He is saying he won t be able to sleep after what he has just done because he will regret it forever and it will haunt him. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are interrupted by knocking on the door and as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth walk away he says, Wake Duncan with thy knocking; I would though couldst. ( 2.2 78 79). ... The IWC was formed in hopes of protecting whales and making sure that whales were spared. Without enforcement of the rules and restrictions for any nations, the problem has not gone away. Without whales the ecosystem begins to falter, the whale being one of the vital producers, and consumers of the ocean. There are countries that refused to agree to the terms of the moratorium, regardless of the damage such actions would cause. The moratorium permits whaling for scientific research, and that is the mask current whaling countries hide behind (Zelko).
