Health Care Communication Methods
As the communication coordinator for this national drug manufacturer, we will need to address the
issue at hand and figure out the best way to handle the negative publicity one of our medications has
caused. Unfortunately, the local news is already making things more difficult for us by alleging that a
well known public figure is among those suffering adverse effects from this medication. We will need
to decide how to properly address the public that will ensure no loss in business or investors. In this
meeting, we will need to determine the best communication tactic to get this situation under control.

Now in looking at electronic or social media we have many choices. Facebook or our company
website would be two options. However any electronic or social media would have advantages and
disadvantages. An advantage would be that we could reach many people very quickly. Not only do
many people use social media these days, but we could use social media to incorporate some of the
traditional media styles. For example, we could use Facebook to get a video out stating our side of this
issue. On the downside, many feel as though social media is not as intimate. We need to remember
that the receiver of the electronic communications is not able to observe other important elements of
the message that often come up with face to face interactions: tone of voice, facial expressions, and
body posture, for example (Cheesebro, O Connor, amp; Rios, 2010). Nonetheless, there are studies
that are showing a substantial growth in use of electronic and social media for healthcare purposes.
Graphic from Study Predicts Growing Use Of Social Media In Healthcare (2011).
Another concern in this situation is remembering that we need to stay within the HIPAA guidelines
when using media to let information out. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of
1996 (HIPAA) established new standards for the confidentiality, security, and transmissibility of

Amyotrophic Later Sclerosis Essay
There are many known diseases in the world that we live in today affecting a wide range of
individuals of different ages, ethnicities, and genders. With each type of disease comes a diagnosis,
prognosis, and potential for a cure from one of life s many ailments. Over the course of time,
technology has began to lead the way in discovering as well as treating many disease in which doctors
previously knew little about. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig s
disease, was first described in 1869 by French neurologist Jean Martin Charcot. In 1939 ALS brought
international attention when Lou Gehrig abruptly retired from baseball after being diagnosed with the
disease(6). Today there are as many as 20,000 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once motor neurons die, the brain has an inability to initiate impulses and control muscle movement
of the body. Over the course of time as connections between muscles and nerves are damage muscles
will gradually become weaker, twitch, and atrophy. There are many symptoms during the onset of
ALS that are often overlooked that can include: Twitching, cramping, muscle stiffness or weakness,
slurred and or nasal speech, or difficulty chewing or swallowing. Each patients symptoms vary
depending on what muscles are damage first. Individuals can initially have the lower extremities
affected or the upper extremities as well as noticeable speech problems. Damage to upper motor
neurons can cause spastic muscles and contributes to an increase in reflexes, such as the gag reflex(7).
Muscles may become weaker, however, patients are still able to perform voluntary muscle
contractions with sensation still intact. Lower motor neuron damage is linked to muscles weakness,
atrophy, cramps, twitching, and a decline of reflexes(BOOK). As the disease progresses throughout
the patients body, they have increasing problems with muscle movement, maintaining weight,
speaking, and swallowing. As muscles of the respiratory system weaken, patients also have difficulty

King Leopold II Of Belgium
Characterized by ambition and restlessness from an early age, King Leopold II of Belgium utilized his
desire to make a name for himself, while increasing his personal wealth and power, and deftly
harnessed subterfuge in order to convince the Belgian government that his interests in Africa were
philanthropic, all the while exploiting and deceiving the native peoples of the Congo. However, it was
this same relentless ambition which would eventually lead to Leopold s being forced to sell his
colonial holdings, as the moral limits of the observers and of participants in the king s imperial system
were pushed to their breaking points.
King Leopold II began his career on the world stage as a young individual leading an almost equally
young nation. Much of his life was devoid of genuine human connections and emotion, and he
ruthlessly pursued power and profits, likely in an attempt to fill this void. He went about this pursuit
by modeling the nation which he so admired, Great Britain. He was entranced by its methods of
imperialism, and he came to the conclusion, after investigating a multitude of other options, that
Africa offered the most opportunities for his individual profit, as the majority of the wild lands on
other continents had already been colonized by more influential European powers.
After he came into power, Leopold broached the topic of a Belgium controlled colony in a much
different manner than he had while his father was still king. Previously, Leopold was

Democratic Or Republican Essay
Banjade 7
Pratiksha Banjade Professor Sherry Sharifian GOVT 2306 71003 2nd October,2017.
Democratic or Republican?
I have been in Texas from ten months for pursuing my further education. The place where I am
currently dwelling i.e. 3225 West Walnut Hill Lane, Irving, Texas is numbered as district 16. 1 As per
the research, I found that Don Huffines represents district 16 in the Texas senate. It is full of diverse
population providing several opportunities to its citizens. 2 Around 846,307 people are living in
district 16 in which 7.2% of the total population are below five years old, 17.1% belong to the age
group from 5 to 17, 65.8% of the total population includes people of age from 18 to 64 and 9.8% are
the age group above 65 years old. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As per the results of two surveys, I was categorized as a liberal person. I count myself as the supporter
of Democratic party in USA. However, Don Huffines who is the representative of Texas senate from
district 16 is from Republican party who tries to expand his conservative philosophy.
One of the issues I stand against is for the right to keep and bear arms. The Republican party supports
the right to keep guns but the Democratic party is against it and so am I. In this issue, my ideas
diverge with the Republican party since it opposes the laws which limit the open use of guns. Even
Don Huffines states that every Texans should have legal rights to possess their fire arms. Republican
party are against the tax regulations of guns and argue to make a strong law for carrying guns as they
believe that it s God given right. However, I am against this action of Don Huffines as it can be more
severe in some contexts. Recently, even in my college Northlake college of Irving, a girl was
murdered by a guy who had gun which happened when I was there. What is the guarantee that such
acts will not be repeated in future? Carrying guns can be easy processes to threaten anyone showing
its power and as an international student, it sometimes scares me. Obviously, by carrying guns and
other arms, one can have personal protection but it s not a wiser decision to

Yellow Fever Vaccination Research Paper
A vaccination is a treatment which makes the body stronger against a particular infection.
The body fights infection using the immune system, which is made up of millions of cells including T
cells and B cells. An important feature of the immune system is that it is much stronger when fighting
a disease which it has already fought against before. It has a memory.
Vaccination involves showing the immune system something which looks very similar to a particular
virus or bacteria, which helps the immune system be stronger when it is fighting against the real
infection.
What is the immune system?

The antigens in a vaccine are recognized by lymphocytes and lead to development of memory cells.
Vaccines teach the immune system by mimicking a natural infection.
After successful immunization with a vaccine, a person is exposed to the actual pathogen, the memory
cells enable the immune system to mount a rapid, sustained immune response. This greatly reducing
the complications associated with a natural infection.
For example, the yellow fever vaccine, first widely used in 1938, contains a weakened form of the
virus that doesn t cause disease or reproduce very well. Human macrophages can t tell that the vaccine
viruses are weakened, so they attack the viruses as if they were dangerous. In the lymph nodes, the
macrophages present yellow fever antigen to T cells and B cells.
A response from yellow fever specific T cells is then activated. The B cells produce yellow fever
antibodies. The weakened viruses in the vaccine are quickly eliminated by our immune system. The
mock infection is cleared, and humans are left with a supply of memory T and B cells for future
protection against yellow

Ancient Greek Trabeated System
The trabeated system, otherwise known as post and lintel, was one of the most important systematic
principles used by ancient Greek architects. The way the structures were designed was by two vertical
columns or posts holding up an horizontal architrave. Architects used this technique to support the
weight of the architrave above openings. The trabeated system, not only used in ancient Greece, was
also seen throughout prehistoric architecture as far back as the stone age.
Stonehenge, assumed to be finished in 1500 B.C., is one of the most iconic architectural structures in
the history of the world. Built in the Stone age, this monumental structure was advanced for its time. It
was assumed to be a burial site for the Aristocrats of the time.

The Impact Of Internet Legislation On The Internet
The goal of the legislation was to improve the access of the internet and to allow the consumers to
receive equal access to all internet sites no matter what provider they are using. This allows people to
select the applications or sites they wish to get their information, giving them a freedom not many
have. As shown before these companies have been fined and reprimanded for breaking the law,
however this brings forth a probe to see if this policy been successful in creating an equal internet for
the consumer. According to CBS NL it states that the dutch legislation raised the over population of
84% avidly use the internet in 2012 versus the 78% of people in 2005. The statistics presented by the
Central Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) show that as the internet evolved people became more
dependent on the internet leading to an expansion of people using the internet (CBS 2012).
Additionally, the Netherlands holds the highest percentage of internet users than in most developed
countries in Europe (CBS). However, as we see that more people in the Netherlands use the internet
ISPs also introduced a raise in prices to help with the lost revenue the law created. Although
consumers were being charged more many advocates still see it as a victory by stopping ISPs from
raising the prices significantly higher than the are now creating a consensus between the ISPs and its
consumers.

What Are The Missteps In The Declaration Of Independence
An Analysis of The Declaration of Independence In the short span of thirteen years; how did the
American colonies go from loyal subjects of King George III, flush in they victory over the French in
the French and Indian War to becoming rebels capable of overthrowing the most powerful government
in the world? It was not one single factor that caused the colonies to rebel, but a number of missteps
by the smug and out of touch English government that caused the colonies to declare their
independence in July 1776. The first missteps that started the revolutionary wheels turning happened
when parliament enacted the Sugar Act in 1764 followed by the Stamp Act in 1765. In the wake of the
French and Indian War, Britain had amassed a massive wartime debt. Parliament thought it only fair
and reasonable the colonies chip in to help pay some of the war debt, considering the war was fought
in their defense. Almost immediately the colonists pushed back. The colonists felt without a colonial
representative in Parliament the taxes were illegal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

give it another go at generating revenue from the colonies. This time parliament enacted the Townsend
Acts in 1767, placing themselves directly behind the colonial mules hind legs. Again the colonists,
fought back with protest and boycotting English goods. There were violent protest within the colonies
most notably in Boston, Massachusetts. Frustrated by the actions of the colonists, the English
government sent in troops to quell the violence and make the colonist submit and obey the law. It was
in response to the Townsend Acts that the Sons of Liberty organized, the Boston Massacre erupted, the
Committee of Correspondence was established and the East India Tea Companies tea was dumped into

Air Pollution In The Environment
A major public health challenge facing the people of Honduras is the issue of household air pollution
(HAP). HAP is a dangerous form of environmental health hazard, so much so that the World Health
Organization (WHO) has called it the most important global environmental health risk today . HAP is
air pollution that is produced inside the home due to cooking, lightening, and heating needs and is
typically the result of burning biomass fuels such as wood or coal, which produces products of
incomplete combustion such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter (PM). Behaviors such as
smoking indoors also contribute to poor indoor air quality. The worldwide impact of HAP is massive,
with the WHO estimating that a total of 4.3 million deaths were linked to HAP in 2012. Honduras is
part of this global burden of disease, as over half of Honduras s population cooks with biomass,
placing thousands at risk. The overall trend in health ailments in Honduras is one of epidemiological
transition. Essentially, Honduras is currently seeing a rise in noncommunicable diseases (NCD) while
the burden of infectious disease persists. HAP is contributing to this rise in NCD. People in Honduras
between 30 and 70 years old have a 16% chance of dying from the four main NCDS, which include
cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases. HAP has been found to
contribute to all of these areas of NCD, excluding diabetes. In Honduras, cardiovascular disease and

Karl Marx And Max Weber
Karl Marx and Max Weber were influential sociologists that paved the way for modern sociological
school of thought. Both, Karl Marx and Max Weber contributed a lot to the study and foundation of
sociology. Without their contributions sociology would not be as prominent as it is today. From the
contribution of how sociology should be studied, to how they applied their theories to everyday life
has influenced many sociologists. Predominantly, both of these theorists discussed the effects of
capitalism, how it has developed, shaped and changed society into what it is today. Specifically, Karl
Marx s contribution of the bourgeoisie vs. the proletariat class and Max Weber s social stratification
has helped individuals to understand how modern day society has transformed into what it is today.
Particularly, this paper will lie out Weber s theory of social stratification and Marx s theory of the
bourgeoisie vs. the proletariat class; additionally this essay will also compare and contrast the ideas of
these two influential sociologists. Finally this essay will criticize both of these sociologists theories
and display that Marx and Weber do not explain how modern day society and classes have been
formed. Before discussing Marx and Weber s theories we must look at their upbringing and who has
influenced their works. Karl Marx was born in West Germany in a small business city called Trier, in
1818 (Karl Marx, Intro. to Part III, Pg.135). Karl Marx was the son of a rich family and

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien is a story of adventure and danger, and it is a prime example of a
romantic plot and fantasy genre. What makes this story such a great example of a romantic plot? One,
the unlikely hero, Mr. Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit that is dragged on an adventure he doesn t wish to

is later on considered to be normal because Gandalf comes and goes throughout the duration of the
trip. All through the quest Bilbo ends up saving the party from many dangerous situations. This is
something that at first Bilbo finds hard to believe because he has very low self esteem. The group
always seems to find themselves in worse, and worse problems, but they always overcome these
problems, with the help of Bilbo and some times Gandalf. Some of these problems include: getting
caught by trolls, getting captured by goblins, being attacked by large wolves called Wargs, one of the
dwarves falls into a coma from touching black water in the Mirkwood Forest, nearly dying of
starvation, being captured by large spiders and being captured by wood elves. Although this is all very

leading research based pharmaceutical company and has produced drugs such as penicillin, Lipitor,
Viagra, Detrol, and Geodon and thousands of others throughout its history. Focused now on expanding

The second rests in Pfizer s expiring patents on several popular drugs that invite their competitors to
enter the market with similarly performing pharmaceuticals. Once these patents expire, Pfizer will
either have to extend the patent through reformulating the performance of the drug for another purpose
called ever greening , or abandon the line in the pursuit of another, more profitable product.
Regardless of what they do in terms of their own product offerings, generic imitations of their
products will enter the market, diluting the profitability of the drug and forcing reliance on the sales of
other existing products to make up the loss.
Opportunities for Pfizer exist in two areas, first being the restructuring into a more lean and
competitive organization and second is the penetration into emerging markets such as China and India
who are now more able to purchase their products. With sales of approximately $50 billion per year,
Pfizer has the opportunity to streamline its operations, cut costs, and add flexibility to the
organization. If successful in this, they can better realize their profits and invest that money into future
competitive products for the market.
Penetration into developing markets is the second opportunity identified, allowing Pfizer to

The day my group and I received our assignment, we agreed to portray a play that seems easy to
perform. The play in which my group and I had a strong connection with is Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.
We performed the end of Act 1, Scene 1 for various reasons. The act contained various emotions,
intriguing dialogue, various literary devices and a deep perception of social relationships. The
interactions of Brick and Maggie and Maggie and Brick s nieces and nephews.
The thought process for picking this scene was a challenge. We realized this scene was not evenly
distributed with character s monologue. We began blurting out ideas that would help us decide on
keeping this scene or changing to a new one. My first idea was to switch roles in the middle of the
scene in order for everyone to have an equal part. My group members agreed with this idea, until
another member s thought came up. One of my group members, thought of a different idea ... Show

My rings were to symbolize the bond I share with Brick and the jewelry I was putting on, as Maggie s
actions were stated. The children would use bottle caps or crumpled papers, used to throw at Maggie
when they are mocking her. My group and I could not find a crutch for the member playing Brick, to
use. I decided to take off the end of a broomstick and use the stick as a crutch. I came up with the idea
of using the classroom as a prop too. The teacher s desk would be my makeup dresser. As I am
speaking to Brick, I would use the computer screen, as if, I am putting on makeup.
As stated earlier, I chose the end of act 1, scene 1 in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, because it introduced a
deeper concept of emotions and interactions in the play. The beginning of the play was not intriguing
to my group members and I. I did not understand why the husband and the wife were filled with anger
and hostility until the end of the act. The author had me in strings because I did not know how the
character, Maggie should be

Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation ( Coh )
Introduction Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is known to be an important component in
the success of in vitro fertilization embryo transfer (IVF ET). In COH procedure, in order to suppress
and prevent premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surge, GnRH agonists and antagonists are often
applied. During the assisted reproduction technologies (ARTs), controlled ovarian hyperstimulation
(COH) is often applied to stimulate multiple follicular development followed by ovulation induction
with an ovulatory trigger before oocyte collection and fertilization. It is increasingly appreciated that
such exogenous hormonal stimulation for ARTs results in the environment of supra physiological level
of steroid hormone and may be detrimental to endometrial receptivity. Although no significant
differences in oocyte quality or embryo quality were found between patients treated with GnRH
agonist or GnRH antagonist, the data regarding the impact of these protocols on endometrial
receptivity are still controversial. Impaired endometrial receptivity has been recognizied as the main
problem to success in ART once all other factors have been optimized. Several studies have been done
to directly assess endometrial receptivity, including histologic dating, endometrial sex steroid receptor
concentrations, scanning electron microscopy assessing pinopod expression, and more recently, the
role of cytokines, growth factors, integrin molecules, genomic, proteomic and lipidomic targets have
been

School Violence
Finding a Solution to School Violence
Anita Lopez
Kaplan University
CM 220
School is a place where children should go to learn, educate themselves, make lifelong friends and
most importantly they should feel safe. The violence in schools has increased over the years and many
schools aren t sure how to handle this growing problem in an appropriate manner. School violence
may come in various forms and some of the most common forms of school violence include physical
abuses, bullying, brawl and verbal abuses but the most common forms are physical abuses and
bullying. Schools administrators and teachers should deal with each situation individually, they should
give a good amount of time and effort into finding a suitable solution to a ... Show more content on

Suspensions can lead to delinquency because some of the students may end up dropping out of school.
The risk of subsequent violence increases when violent students are transferred repeatedly from one
school to another (Finley, 2011). Students that drop out of school because of expulsion or suspension
are more likely to associate with deviant peers because they have more unstructured time and this can
become another problem.
Schools should take proactive approaches when dealing with school violence, but mediating in
conflicts and counselling indiscipline students are just reactive measures that may end up doing very
little to end school violence (Finley, 2011). The success or failure of counseling and mediation also
depends on the qualifications and training of the people in charge of such programs.
As the saying goes it takes a village to raise a child , it will be a great deed for all of society to help
with this ongoing problem of school violence. It is in a parent s best interest to play a big role in their
child s life. A child learns from examples and by watching as others do.
A collective effort that includes parents, teachers and school administrators and the entire community
is needed to effectively deal with the problem of school violence. School violence is to a large extent
influenced by parents, but most of the blame is normally put on

The Attachment Theory and Factors Damaging to Attachment
Attachment Theory
Relationships are the building block for personality and are significant in children s ability to grow
into substantial individuals who can thrive in an often harsh world. Constructing lasting and fulfilling
relationships is an integral part to development as the interpersonal bonds forged are not only highly
sought after but also set the ground work for all upcoming expressive interactions. Relationships and
attachment go hand in hand as attachment is the strong and lasting linkage established between a child
and his or her caregiver. Moreover, attachment significantly influences a large capacity of ones make
up as it these first relationships that teaches morals, builds self esteem, and develops a support system.

These included Secure attachment, Avoidant, and resistant patterns . Also furthering the work of her
predecessors, Mary Main a student of both Ainsworth and Bowlby provided additional categories of
attachment which included the disorganized disoriented pattern. Many children growing up in homes
plagued by substance use of any nature struggle the most when into adulthood and as a result of poor
attachments often develop negative relational patterns. Children in these households often develop
what is known as an avoidant attachment style in which they have not maintained trust with caregivers
early on thus lending to behaviors of mistrust later in life as they weren t provided stability early on.
Culture and Attachment Attachment theory is a great model for understanding the maladaptive
patterns of behavior many adults may present later in life. As relationship and relational patterns are
developed early in life the way in which people view themselves and the world are greatly influenced
by their experiences with attachment figures. Though attachment theory wishes to look at the
universal inner workings of child development and attachment organization it does not fully discuss
the cultural contexts. Attachment theory instead looks to universally categorize the survival needs of
all infants but does not take into consideration cultural, racial, and socio economic elements that may
affect the differential attachment

The Deaf Community and Its Culture
During registration last semester, when I decided to take this course to see if I wanted to continue
onward with ASL as my minor, I was not sure what to expect. Through my brief introduction of Deaf
culture during my first sign language courses, I knew some vague details about historical events.
Gallaudet had been mentioned several times within not only my workbook, but also by my professor. I
could have given you a short synopsis of the oral movement that threatened to wipe ASL out as a
language. Though I knew these facts, and a few traits about Deaf culture that I had experienced
firsthand, there was so much that I had not considered before the readings and journals for this course
opened my eyes. The Deaf community is a group that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As ASL is a visual language, it is necessary that both of the people move to a different room if they
wish to discuss something in private. Without the readings for this class, most of these social rules
would have been lost on me. One of the biggest changes I have noted in myself in the course of the
semester is how my view of deafness has changed through meeting Deaf people and experiencing
Deaf culture. Prior to this course, or any of my sign language courses, it is safe to say that I would
have considered deafness a disability. It is not to say that I considered Deaf people any less intelligent
or able bodied than those with normal hearing, I certainly did not. If the topic of deafness ever came
up, I mourned for the sense that I considered Deaf people to be deprived of. Having met several Deaf
people now, I understand that even though they cannot hear like the average person, they gained the
support and the culture that comes with involvement in the Deaf community. I am a communication
disorders major at Western Kentucky University, and my hope is to eventually become a speech
language pathologist. When I first started taking ASL classes, it was to not only gain knowledge of a
language I found interesting, but to also aid in my communication skills with others, should I ever
meet Deaf people either at work or in my free

Edna St. Vincent Millay
[Women have loved before as I love now] : Burdens and Foiled Expectations Women have loved
before as I love now/ At least, in lively chronicles of the past (lines 1 2). These opening lines seem to
simultaneously show love as something old, trite, and exciting. In [Women have loved before as I love
now] , Edna St. Vincent Millay describes the ancient love stories of the past and how she relates to
them. She writes how she used to seek out the parts which focused on love, describing the love of past
women as something passionate and strong. Millay also goes on to say that out of all the women alive,
she feels that only she connects with the love of the past, and that only she truly feels love. [Women
have loved before as I love now] shows that passionate love is a joyful burden that is shared by both
sexes. When love is typically described, it is thought of as a joy, almost pure. Most people want to be
in love. Millay, on the other hand, seems to represent passionate love as almost burdensome. When
referring to the act of love itself, she describes the women she identifies with bearing as I bear/love
like a burning city in the breast (lines 7 8). She also states [I] Do suffer love (line 11). The words here
are all negative, in contrast to what the reader would expect. Yet, the narrator also seems to look upon
this way of loving with longing. She seeks the stories of the past, Hunt[ing] the amorous line (line 6).
This way of love is how she wants to feel, and

The Antarctic Krill s Decline
Study conducted by British Antarctic Survey in 2004 emphasized that Antarctic krill numbers are
declining. Krill are very significant to the Antarctic food web and this decline could threaten whales,
seals and penguins all of which rely on krill. The decline of krill has been associated to a intense
decline in sea ice, their habita. Sea ice is a vigorous feeding ground for the enormous number of krill
in the Southern Ocean. The research shows that krill decreased by about 80% since the 1970s. Krill
feed on the algae which are found under the surface of the sea ice. The Antarctic Peninsula, an
important breeding ground for the krill, has experienced an unusual shrinkage of sea ice. It has been
intensely advocated that enhanced UV B radiation

Freud Vs Nietzsche
Sigmund Freud and Friedrich Nietzsche offer prominent critiques of civilization and morality that
greatly differ from the commonplace views of ethics and virtue. Rejecting the idea that morality is an
instinctive or natural element of human life, they both argue that morality is a reactionary construction
to the realities of the human existence. While both Nietzsche and Freud share this view, their views on
the value of morality differ greatly. Nietzsche argues that morality suffocates and chokes humanity.
Freud on the other hand, claims that morality is an essential component of civilization and solely
responsible for enabling humans to live together peacefully. The disparity between these two critiques
of morality is a product of the different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This will to power is the animalistic hunger for attaining more power. But it is explained by him that
there are those who cannot simply achieve that goal through force. So this will to power is eventually
turned inwards, where the deprivation and repression of the basic instincts is seen as having power
over them. This lifestyle is what Nietzsche describes as asceticism. A lifestyle of monks, priests and
nuns, he describes it as having an aura of seriousness. This process of forgetting common sense,
distrusting the instinct and withdrawing from the world is the same part of the same slaves revolt in
morality that he explains in his earlier essay. This ascetic ideal is further embodied in the then
flourishing world of science. He describes science as the most recent and noblest form of the ascetic
ideal (Nietzsche 3.25), adding that science is not opposed to religion or morality, it is aiming for truth.
His optimism about civilization s advancement towards the truth is a sharp contrast to the bound
discontent of Freud. Yet Nietzsche does have his own doubts about the faith in science. Similarly to
the scientist questions the priest s faith in God, Nietzsche recommends the conscience to doubt even
faith in truth. He is in no form a relativist, but he states emphasizes that knowing as many different
perspectives as possible

Difference Between Montessori And Steiner
When comparing and contrasting two teaching approaches, it is important to remember that although
there is a myriad of different types i.e. Froebel, Montessori, Steiner etc., they all possess similarities
and differences. Each individual approach has many fascinating points, however the Montessori and
Steiner approach will be discussed in this essay. Montessori s approach is based on the understanding
that children have an inborn capacity to acquire information and to teach themselves when placed in
an environment that allows freedom and independence to work at their own pace (Miller, 2010, p.71).
Whereas Steiner s approach is based on the understanding that children learn primarily through
imitation and whatever is happening around them from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Montessori s teaching approach aims to develop all aspects of the child mentally and socially (Pound,
2012). Montessori cautioned teachers to remember that children need to be allowed to do basic tasks
to learn for themselves (Mooney, 2000, p.28). The role of the teacher in a Montessori setting is mainly
observation of the child, encouragement, preparation of the environment, leadership, fostering the
child s independence (Mooney, 2000, p.29), and keeping a complex and delicate balance between each
role. (Miller, 2010, p.79). Both theorists acknowledged that children learn best by doing and through
repetition of tasks (Mooney, 2000, p.29). Large blocks of time for free work and play, should be
scheduled as this was part of the Montessori legacy, this can also be seen in Steiner settings. (Pound,
2012). The teacher should also give children responsibility for keeping the setting space clean and tidy
and allow the children to structure their own play. (Mooney, 2000, p.29). Steiner s role of the teacher
is comparable. Steiner wanted to create an education which gave children clarity of thought,
sensitivity of feeling and strength of will (Pound 2012, p28). Like Montessori the role of the teacher is
all about observation, the teacher needs to be both interested and observational of the child s basic
needs to fully develop the child both

Essay on Racism and The Latino Community
In this world we are constantly being categorized by our race and ethnicity, and for many people it s
hard to look beyond that. Even though in the past many stood up for equality and to stop racism and
discrimination, it still occurs. In this nation of freedom and equality, there are still many people who
believe that their race is superior to others. These beliefs are the ones that destroy our nation and affect
the lives of many. The people affected are not limited by their age group, sex, social status, or by their
education level. Their beliefs can cause them to attack other groups verbally or in silence and even
reaching to the point of violence. All of this occurs because we can t be seen as a people , but rather

These racist groups take advantage especially of the illegal Latino population in doing these things,
because they believe they have no rights due to their illegal status here in the United States. Also these
groups know that many of these Hispanics will not go to police to report these incidents of
discrimination and abuse, because they are fearful that in doing so they might get deported. They also
discriminate the legal Latinos, because in their eyes they are the same as the illegal ones. The article
also portrays the horrific actions of discrimination racist extremist do against Latinos. Eviatar reports
the examples of the abuse by stating, a young mother was arrested and jailed when she asked to be
paid for her work in a Tennessee cheese factory; a migrant bean picker whose life savings were
confiscated by police during a traffic stop, and a rapist in Georgia going unpunished because his 13
year old victim is undocumented (par 3). The hate they feel towards this minority group, cause them to
commit acts that are unjustifiable. They inflict pain and psychological suffering to Hispanics. This
behavior is the cause racism, that as you see can harm to other ethnicities at a great level. Racialism
also comes to play in this case, because these groups believe that they are biologically superior to
Hispanics and other ethnicities and races as well. Our race does not make us superior to others, yet
they still believe in that it does. Enculturation

Dbq Essay On The Colony Of John Winthrop
When starting a new colony, John Winthrop had a perfect utopia set up in his mind. Everyone would
get along with each other, everyone would be compassionate and helpful to everyone in the
community, and most of all, they would be a society based on relations and not God. Winthrop
realizes the various social classes people fit into, but he hopes that his city upon a hill will unite
everyone and make them all equal, regardless of social status. He hopes that the people who are in the
colony are good people, who will help anyone who needs it, when they need it. Last of all, he hopes
that the colony will keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace in order to become the city upon a
hill that he wants to be. In order to do this, God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Document D follows a small section of Anne Hutchinson s trial where Winthrop himself is,
essentially, arguing with someone about a rumored rule breaking. This goes against his vision of
complete peace with others within the colony. This excerpt shows that the community would accept
everyone, but in the case of Hutchinson, they are pushing her away and trying to kick her out of the
colony because she is supposedly pushing her limits of freedom. This goes to show that even the
person who has the vision of the society will still push people around because they don t follow the
exact rules of freedom that are put into place. The fact that someone is still praying to God, and that
even the person who s vision it was to be a city upon a hill is going against his vision shows that the
colony is still far from achieving Winthrop s vision. The two documents are useful in the sense that
they delve further into a specific part of the society. The poem by Anne Bradstreet is vague because it
doesn t really talk much about the society as a whole, but of her own relation in the society. The
excerpt between Hutchinson and Winthrop shows the court written exchange, and could help prove
that the society isn t the exact vision of the society because Winthrop is clearly challenging

Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Study Analysis
Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Analysis In this Case Study Analysis, I will identify examples
of the types of organizational culture (innovative and stable) that the Lincoln Electric Company has, as
well as the benefits and problems the company could experience as a result of these. The idea that
stuck out the most about the Lincoln Electric Company is that they obviously have a strong culture
that all levels of employees are proud to be a part of. According to Carpenter, Taylor, and Erdogan
(2010), culture is a more powerful way of controlling and managing employee behaviors than
organizational rules and regulations (pg. 193, para. 2). The Lincoln Electric Company encompasses
facets of multiple types of cultures instead of adhering to only one. The ways in which the Lincoln
Electric Company identifies with an innovative culture are most prominently explained by the
following facets: not having a traditional hierarchy, and utilizing an open door policy when it comes to
problem resolution. As explained in the Organization Structure section of the Case Study, personnel
are encouraged to take problems to the persons most capable of resolving them [open door policy]
(Sharplin, 1989, pg. 7, para. 1). In the same section, Sharplin also mentions that, Lincoln has never
had a formal organization chart... [but] position titles and traditional flows of authority do imply
something of an organizational structure... [thus determining] that production workers have two or, at

However any electronic or social media would have advantages and disadvantages. An advantage would be that we could reach many people very quickly. For example, we could use Facebook to get a video out stating our side of this issue. On the downside, many feel as though social media is not as intimate. We need to remember that the receiver of the electronic communications is not able to observe other important elements of the message that often come up with face to face interactions: tone of voice, facial expressions, and body posture, for example (Cheesebro, O Connor, amp; Rios, 2010). Nonetheless, there are studies that are showing a substantial growth in use of electronic and social media for healthcare purposes. Graphic from Study Predicts Growing Use Of Social Media In Healthcare (2011). • 6. King Leopold II Of Belgium Characterized by ambition and restlessness from an early age, King Leopold II of Belgium utilized his desire to make a name for himself, while increasing his personal wealth and power, and deftly harnessed subterfuge in order to convince the Belgian government that his interests in Africa were philanthropic, all the while exploiting and deceiving the native peoples of the Congo. However, it was this same relentless ambition which would eventually lead to Leopold s being forced to sell his colonial holdings, as the moral limits of the observers and of participants in the king s imperial system were pushed to their breaking points. King Leopold II began his career on the world stage as a young individual leading an almost equally young nation. Much of his life was devoid of genuine human connections and emotion, and he ruthlessly pursued power and profits, likely in an attempt to fill this void. He went about this pursuit by modeling the nation which he so admired, Great Britain. He was entranced by its methods of imperialism, and he came to the conclusion, after investigating a multitude of other options, that Africa offered the most opportunities for his individual profit, as the majority of the wild lands on other continents had already been colonized by more influential European powers. After he came into power, Leopold broached the topic of a Belgium controlled colony in a much different manner than he had while his father was still king. Previously, Leopold was ... I have been in Texas from ten months for pursuing my further education. The place where I am currently dwelling i.e. 3225 West Walnut Hill Lane, Irving, Texas is numbered as district 16. 1 As per the research, I found that Don Huffines represents district 16 in the Texas senate. It is full of diverse population providing several opportunities to its citizens. 2 Around 846,307 people are living in district 16 in which 7.2% of the total population are below five years old, 17.1% belong to the age group from 5 to 17, 65.8% of the total population includes people of age from 18 to 64 and 9.8% are the age group above 65 years old. ... However, Don Huffines who is the representative of Texas senate from district 16 is from Republican party who tries to expand his conservative philosophy. One of the issues I stand against is for the right to keep and bear arms. The Republican party supports the right to keep guns but the Democratic party is against it and so am I. In this issue, my ideas diverge with the Republican party since it opposes the laws which limit the open use of guns. Even Don Huffines states that every Texans should have legal rights to possess their fire arms. Republican party are against the tax regulations of guns and argue to make a strong law for carrying guns as they believe that it s God given right. However, I am against this action of Don Huffines as it can be more severe in some contexts. Recently, even in my college Northlake college of Irving, a girl was murdered by a guy who had gun which happened when I was there. What is the guarantee that such acts will not be repeated in future? Carrying guns can be easy processes to threaten anyone showing its power and as an international student, it sometimes scares me. Vaccines teach the immune system by mimicking a natural infection. After successful immunization with a vaccine, a person is exposed to the actual pathogen, the memory cells enable the immune system to mount a rapid, sustained immune response. This greatly reducing the complications associated with a natural infection. For example, the yellow fever vaccine, first widely used in 1938, contains a weakened form of the virus that doesn t cause disease or reproduce very well. Human macrophages can t tell that the vaccine viruses are weakened, so they attack the viruses as if they were dangerous. In the lymph nodes, the macrophages present yellow fever antigen to T cells and B cells. A response from yellow fever specific T cells is then activated. The B cells produce yellow fever antibodies. The weakened viruses in the vaccine are quickly eliminated by our immune system. The Impact Of Internet Legislation On The Internet The goal of the legislation was to improve the access of the internet and to allow the consumers to receive equal access to all internet sites no matter what provider they are using. This allows people to select the applications or sites they wish to get their information, giving them a freedom not many have. As shown before these companies have been fined and reprimanded for breaking the law, however this brings forth a probe to see if this policy been successful in creating an equal internet for the consumer. According to CBS NL it states that the dutch legislation raised the over population of 84% avidly use the internet in 2012 versus the 78% of people in 2005. The statistics presented by the Central Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) show that as the internet evolved people became more dependent on the internet leading to an expansion of people using the internet (CBS 2012). Additionally, the Netherlands holds the highest percentage of internet users than in most developed countries in Europe (CBS). However, as we see that more people in the Netherlands use the internet ISPs also introduced a raise in prices to help with the lost revenue the law created. What Are The Missteps In The Declaration Of Independence An Analysis of The Declaration of Independence In the short span of thirteen years; how did the American colonies go from loyal subjects of King George III, flush in they victory over the French in the French and Indian War to becoming rebels capable of overthrowing the most powerful government in the world? It was not one single factor that caused the colonies to rebel, but a number of missteps by the smug and out of touch English government that caused the colonies to declare their independence in July 1776. The first missteps that started the revolutionary wheels turning happened when parliament enacted the Sugar Act in 1764 followed by the Stamp Act in 1765. In the wake of the French and Indian War, Britain had amassed a massive wartime debt. Parliament thought it only fair and reasonable the colonies chip in to help pay some of the war debt, considering the war was fought in their defense. Almost immediately the colonists pushed back. HAP is a dangerous form of environmental health hazard, so much so that the World Health Organization (WHO) has called it the most important global environmental health risk today . HAP is air pollution that is produced inside the home due to cooking, lightening, and heating needs and is typically the result of burning biomass fuels such as wood or coal, which produces products of incomplete combustion such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter (PM). Behaviors such as smoking indoors also contribute to poor indoor air quality. The worldwide impact of HAP is massive, with the WHO estimating that a total of 4.3 million deaths were linked to HAP in 2012. Honduras is part of this global burden of disease, as over half of Honduras s population cooks with biomass, placing thousands at risk. The overall trend in health ailments in Honduras is one of epidemiological transition. Essentially, Honduras is currently seeing a rise in noncommunicable diseases (NCD) while the burden of infectious disease persists. HAP is contributing to this rise in NCD. People in Honduras between 30 and 70 years old have a 16% chance of dying from the four main NCDS, which include cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases. HAP has been found to contribute to all of these areas of NCD, excluding diabetes. In Honduras, cardiovascular disease and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Particularly, this paper will lie out Weber s theory of social stratification and Marx s theory of the bourgeoisie vs. the proletariat class; additionally this essay will also compare and contrast the ideas of these two influential sociologists. Finally this essay will criticize both of these sociologists theories and display that Marx and Weber do not explain how modern day society and classes have been formed. Before discussing Marx and Weber s theories we must look at their upbringing and who has influenced their works. Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation ( Coh ) Introduction Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is known to be an important component in the success of in vitro fertilization embryo transfer (IVF ET). In COH procedure, in order to suppress and prevent premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surge, GnRH agonists and antagonists are often applied. During the assisted reproduction technologies (ARTs), controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) is often applied to stimulate multiple follicular development followed by ovulation induction with an ovulatory trigger before oocyte collection and fertilization. It is increasingly appreciated that such exogenous hormonal stimulation for ARTs results in the environment of supra physiological level of steroid hormone and may be detrimental to endometrial receptivity. Although no significant differences in oocyte quality or embryo quality were found between patients treated with GnRH agonist or GnRH antagonist, the data regarding the impact of these protocols on endometrial receptivity are still controversial. Impaired endometrial receptivity has been recognizied as the main problem to success in ART once all other factors have been optimized. Montessori s approach is based on the understanding that children have an inborn capacity to acquire information and to teach themselves when placed in an environment that allows freedom and independence to work at their own pace (Miller, 2010, p.71). Whereas Steiner s approach is based on the understanding that children learn primarily through imitation and whatever is happening around them from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Montessori s teaching approach aims to develop all aspects of the child mentally and socially (Pound, 2012). Montessori cautioned teachers to remember that children need to be allowed to do basic tasks to learn for themselves (Mooney, 2000, p.28). The role of the teacher in a Montessori setting is mainly observation of the child, encouragement, preparation of the environment, leadership, fostering the child s independence (Mooney, 2000, p.29), and keeping a complex and delicate balance between each role. (Miller, 2010, p.79). Both theorists acknowledged that children learn best by doing and through repetition of tasks (Mooney, 2000, p.29). Large blocks of time for free work and play, should be scheduled as this was part of the Montessori legacy, this can also be seen in Steiner settings. (Pound, 2012). The teacher should also give children responsibility for keeping the setting space clean and tidy and allow the children to structure their own play. (Mooney, 2000, p.29). Steiner s role of the teacher is comparable. Steiner wanted to create an education which gave children clarity of thought, sensitivity of feeling and strength of will (Pound 2012, p28). Like Montessori the role of the teacher is all about observation, the teacher needs to be both interested and observational of the child s basic needs to fully develop the child both ... • 36. Essay on Racism and The Latino Community In this world we are constantly being categorized by our race and ethnicity, and for many people it s hard to look beyond that. Even though in the past many stood up for equality and to stop racism and discrimination, it still occurs. In this nation of freedom and equality, there are still many people who believe that their race is superior to others. These beliefs are the ones that destroy our nation and affect the lives of many. The people affected are not limited by their age group, sex, social status, or by their education level. Their beliefs can cause them to attack other groups verbally or in silence and even reaching to the point of violence. All of this occurs because we can t be seen as a people , but rather like species that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These racist groups take advantage especially of the illegal Latino population in doing these things, because they believe they have no rights due to their illegal status here in the United States. Also these groups know that many of these Hispanics will not go to police to report these incidents of discrimination and abuse, because they are fearful that in doing so they might get deported. They also discriminate the legal Latinos, because in their eyes they are the same as the illegal ones. The article also portrays the horrific actions of discrimination racist extremist do against Latinos. Eviatar reports the examples of the abuse by stating, a young mother was arrested and jailed when she asked to be paid for her work in a Tennessee cheese factory; a migrant bean picker whose life savings were confiscated by police during a traffic stop, and a rapist in Georgia going unpunished because his 13 year old victim is undocumented (par 3). The hate they feel towards this minority group, cause them to commit acts that are unjustifiable. They inflict pain and psychological suffering to Hispanics. This behavior is the cause racism, that as you see can harm to other ethnicities at a great level. Racialism also comes to play in this case, because these groups believe that they are biologically superior to Hispanics and other ethnicities and races as well. Our race does not make us superior to others, yet they still believe in that it does. Enculturation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Dbq Essay On The Colony Of John Winthrop When starting a new colony, John Winthrop had a perfect utopia set up in his mind. Everyone would get along with each other, everyone would be compassionate and helpful to everyone in the community, and most of all, they would be a society based on relations and not God. Winthrop realizes the various social classes people fit into, but he hopes that his city upon a hill will unite everyone and make them all equal, regardless of social status. He hopes that the people who are in the colony are good people, who will help anyone who needs it, when they need it. Last of all, he hopes that the colony will keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace in order to become the city upon a hill that he wants to be. In order to do this, God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Document D follows a small section of Anne Hutchinson s trial where Winthrop himself is, essentially, arguing with someone about a rumored rule breaking. This goes against his vision of complete peace with others within the colony. This excerpt shows that the community would accept everyone, but in the case of Hutchinson, they are pushing her away and trying to kick her out of the colony because she is supposedly pushing her limits of freedom. This goes to show that even the person who has the vision of the society will still push people around because they don t follow the exact rules of freedom that are put into place. The fact that someone is still praying to God, and that even the person who s vision it was to be a city upon a hill is going against his vision shows that the colony is still far from achieving Winthrop s vision. The two documents are useful in the sense that they delve further into a specific part of the society. The poem by Anne Bradstreet is vague because it doesn t really talk much about the society as a whole, but of her own relation in the society. The excerpt between Hutchinson and Winthrop shows the court written exchange, and could help prove that the society isn t the exact vision of the society because Winthrop is clearly challenging Hutchinson s ... • 38. Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Study Analysis Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Analysis In this Case Study Analysis, I will identify examples of the types of organizational culture (innovative and stable) that the Lincoln Electric Company has, as well as the benefits and problems the company could experience as a result of these. The idea that stuck out the most about the Lincoln Electric Company is that they obviously have a strong culture that all levels of employees are proud to be a part of. According to Carpenter, Taylor, and Erdogan (2010), culture is a more powerful way of controlling and managing employee behaviors than organizational rules and regulations (pg. 193, para. 2). The Lincoln Electric Company encompasses facets of multiple types of cultures instead of adhering to only one. The ways in which the Lincoln Electric Company identifies with an innovative culture are most prominently explained by the following facets: not having a traditional hierarchy, and utilizing an open door policy when it comes to problem resolution. As explained in the Organization Structure section of the Case Study, personnel are encouraged to take problems to the persons most capable of resolving them [open door policy] (Sharplin, 1989, pg. 7, para. 1). In the same section, Sharplin also mentions that, Lincoln has never had a formal organization chart... [but] position titles and traditional flows of authority do imply something of an organizational structure... [thus determining] that production workers have two or, at ...
