1. Group Structure
2. Managing Group/Team Conflicts
3. The individual and The Group
4. Enhancement of Self-Esteem is Everyone’s Potential

The MTL Professional Development Programme is a collection of 202 PowerPoint presentations that will provide you with step-by-step summaries of a key management or personal development skill. This presentation is on "Team Development" and will show you how teams can develop over time to be uniquely successful.
MSCSA Vice President Kayley Schoonmaker and MSCSA Treasurer Matt Rubel
You've heard it throughout the year: teamwork to make the dream work! Ever wonder how to make a team work? There is a big difference between a group and a team. Is your senate operating as a group or a team? We can help you find out. We will also do some team building exercises to make sure you are ready to take teambuilding back to your campus.
Another essential function of leadership is encouraging team spirit. There is a saying that if you have a handful of dry grass you can use each individual blade to sweep a floor but it is much more effective to combine them into a brush. In the same way individual employees working alone, however motivated they might be, are nowhere as effective as when they work as a team.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

LF Energy Webinar: Electrical Grid Modelling and Simulation Through PowSyBl -...DanBrown980551
Do you want to learn how to model and simulate an electrical network from scratch in under an hour?
Then welcome to this PowSyBl workshop, hosted by Rte, the French Transmission System Operator (TSO)!
During the webinar, you will discover the PowSyBl ecosystem as well as handle and study an electrical network through an interactive Python notebook.
PowSyBl is an open source project hosted by LF Energy, which offers a comprehensive set of features for electrical grid modelling and simulation. Among other advanced features, PowSyBl provides:
- A fully editable and extendable library for grid component modelling;
- Visualization tools to display your network;
- Grid simulation tools, such as power flows, security analyses (with or without remedial actions) and sensitivity analyses;
The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.
What you will learn during the webinar:
- For beginners: discover PowSyBl's functionalities through a quick general presentation and the notebook, without needing any expert coding skills;
- For advanced developers: master the skills to efficiently apply PowSyBl functionalities to your real-world scenarios.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
2. Characteristics:
1. There is a clear unity of purpose.
2. The group is self-conscious about its own operations.
3. The group has set clear and demanding performance goals
4. The atmosphere tends to be informal, comfortable, relaxed.
5. There is a lot of discussion in which virtually everyone participates.
6. People are free in expressing their feelings as well as their ideas.
7. There is disagreement and this is viewed as good.
8. Most decisions are made at a point where there is general agreement.
9. Each individual carries his or her own weight.
10. Criticism is frequent, frank and relatively comfortable.
11. The leadership of the group shifts from time to time.
The issue is not who controls, but how to get the job done.
3. Benefits of teams:
1.Teams enhance the outcome of a project. ∙Teams
provide a variety of different skills from more than one
person.
2.Skills pooled together deliver an excellent product.
4. Challenges of working and learning in
teams
When working and learning in teams there are challenges that you face such
as the following:
1.
Personality types: Everyone has a different dominant personality type.
Some are like yours and some are opposite yours. There are four
personality types developed by Joyce Bishop: thinker, organizer, giver
and adventurer. These can interfere with a group getting along if they
are not accepting and understanding of each other’s learning and
working style.
5. Challenges continued…
2. Flexibility: while working with others you are not just on your time, but the
time frame of everyone in your group. You have to be flexible. Some may be
quicker than you at completing assignments and some need a little more time
due to obligations, schedule, families etc.
3. Conflicts: conflicts can arise because of disagreements and differences of
ideas between group members. You all think you have great ideas, but which
will be chosen? How do you choose? These are sometimes hard questions to
ask. Are you willing to ask? Do you stand by and let others decide if your idea
will be used or not?
6. Challenges continued…
4. Commitment: Are you fully committed to your team?
Commitment is important to a team who needs your total
devotion. Everyone should give their 100%. If some are clearly
not putting In the time or energy into what they have submitted
it can be frustrating.
5. Organization: Getting the team together is a huge challenge all
by itself. Concerns such as skills and schedules of each member
have to be considered. Also there is the question of how to
divide the assignment and to whom.
7. Strategies to develop or enhance team performance :
1. The team must clearly understand its purpose.
a. The objective must be known.
b. Use of a team charter.
2. Organizational support.
a. Does the team have everything they need?
b. Reward and Recognition
3. Empower the team
a. The team members own the solution.
b. The team is responsible for the answers they
provide.
8. Strategies continued…
Team members trust one another
Engage in conflict
Commit to decisions and plans of action
Hold one another accountable
Focus on results
9. *
The absolute best way to develop or enhance team
performance….
COMMUNICATION!!!

Being on a team allows for more ideas to come in to the equation giving opportunity for the best outcome. (Cater, Bishop, & Lyman Kravits, Chapter benefits of team learning, 2011)
Just like in everyday life we all have to learn how to adjust to other peoples personalities, working closely with a group of people may be trying at first.
Being flexible is important especially when working with others. Conflicts can arise a compromise is sometimes the only way to solve the issue.
Then the team understands its purpose itwill have a direction that everyone agrees on.
