This document summarizes a study on using solar distillation to treat domestic wastewater in Kolhapur, India. Samples of domestic wastewater were collected and tested for various physio-chemical parameters before and after undergoing solar distillation for 24 hours. The distillation process significantly reduced levels of most parameters, removing up to 88% of COD, 89% of BOD, and over 90% of various other contaminants like chlorides. The treated water met standards for all parameters tested, demonstrating that solar distillation is an effective natural method for domestic wastewater treatment that could be suitable for areas lacking conventional treatment infrastructure.
An analytical study on impact of industrial effluent on the karun river, raip...Manoj Kumar Tiwari
An analysis was done of five water samples collected from study area, during February - March 2015. The high concentration of
alkalinity (209 mg/L) and hardness (220 mg/l) shows the severe condition of river water due to discharge of Industrial effluent.
Heavy metal or toxic metal concentration was found negligible while in sample no 1 the concentrations of Pb (0.811 mg/l), Cr
(0.642 mg/l), Fe (0.498 mg/l), Zn (0.326 mg/l) and Mn (0.3 mg/l). In other locations some metal concentrations were found below
the detectable limit although iron appeared in a small quantity. Hence it is concluded that there is an adverse condition of river
water environment due to industrial activities and industrial effluent discharge without treatment be supposed to be stopped to
protect the valuable river water from contamination

Purification of Wastewater by Metal Oxide Nanoparticlesijtsrd
In todays world, nanotechnology is becoming increasingly popular for water treatment. In this review, we will summarize recent advances in the development of typical metal oxide materials TiO2, Fe3O4 Fe2O3, MnO2, CeO2, MgO and Al2O3 and the related processes for the treatment of various water resources which have been contaminated by organic solutes, inorganic anions, radionuclides, bacteria and viruses. Electro-Disinfection of Municipal Wastewater: Laboratory Scale Comparison bet...IJERA Editor
Electrodisinfection of wastewater has been investigated extensively in the past, although a consensus over the use of direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC) as the most efficient electricity source has not been reached to date. The research presented herein compares the use of DC and AC in electrodisinfection of municipal wastewater aiming to provide conclusive evidence on the benefits of using one type of current over the other. During the experimental phase, a bench-scale electrodisinfection reactor equipped with iridium oxidecoated titanium electrodes was operated continuously, and E.coli inactivation, free and total chlorine generation were measured. The results observed indicate that, under the experimental conditions, DC represents a more efficient and economical alternative to electrodisinfection than AC.
A Review on Applicability of Photocatalyst Titanium dioxide for Treatment of ...IJERA Editor
Greywater reuse has attracted great attention for sustainable management of water especially under water
scarcity conditions. However, the effort has been limited by the presence of toxic organics in the effluent which
in turn inhibits the public acceptance of recycling water. The existence of those organic pollutants, which cannot
be eliminated by conventional primary and secondary treatment processes, can be problematic. Hence it is
necessary to explore a sustainable, robust and affordable method for treatment of greywater. Photocatalytic
oxidation is an emerging technology that could be suitable to remove refractory organic compounds found in
greywater. Recently titanium dioxide (TiO2) gained wide attention for photocatalytic oxidation of organic matter
of wastewater. Because it is biologically and chemical inert, resistant to chemical corrosion and can work at
ambient temperature and pressure, without addition of chemical species. The irradiation of titanium dioxide
dispersions by ultraviolet (UV) (300-400 nm) light can lead to the formulation of highly reactive hydroxyl
radicals which attack the pollutant molecule to degrade it into carbon dioxide, water and mineral acids. This
technology has advantages, such as, the integration into small places, low maintenance and easy operation.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. The Calculation HTML Code included.
