Psychopathy Vs Sociopathy
In the United States there are approximately 1,075,000 psychopathic males in prison or on parole out
of 1,150,000 males that meet the criteria for psychopathy (Kiehl and Hoffman). Psychopaths and
sociopaths tend to commit more crimes than mentally sound people because of their lack of empathy
but with the right treatment they can begin to understand right from wrong. Both psychopathy and
sociopathy are defined as antisocial personality disorders that produce a lack of empathy in the victims
(Porter). The topics of psychopathy and sociopathy have numerous causes which negatively affect the
victim, his or her family and the society in which they live; however, treatment for psychopathy and
sociopathy can be a positive force for the future of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Psychotherapy has been shown to be the most effective treatment option for psychopathy and
sociopathy. In a study from 2013, psychotherapy was 35% more effective than other known treatment
methods (Salekin et al. 7). This suggests that psychotherapy is the best option for treatment.
Psychotherapy helps to minimize the symptoms of psychopathy and sociopathy. After 2 months of
psychotherapy a man started to have less violent outbursts (Porter). This example suggests that
psychotherapy can enable the victim to push back against their symptoms. The victim will have to
continue getting treatment until age 40. The treatment method of psychotherapy is to talk through
situations and feelings with a psychiatrist, this treatment should continue until around the age of 40 as
this is about the age the expression of the illness stops (Salekin et al. 6). The victims will have to seek
help in order to control their symptoms, if they do it will be a long journey for both the victim and the
family. Psychopathy and sociopathy cannot be cured with our current knowledge of them but those
impacted can seek out treatment to lessen the

Native Hawaiians And Native Americans
When Native Hawaiians welcomed Captain Cook and his crew, they began a journey that would lead
to the crumbling of Hawaiian culture. After Captain Cook, missionaries continued to travel to Hawaii
to, in their opinion, help the Hawaiian people. Native Hawaiians were viewed as savages and were
seemingly given the best assistance from the missionaries. However, the help that the Hawaiians
received led to them being demoralized and hurt psychologically and physiologically. In order to
succeed, underdogs often need the assistance of others. However, too much aid from others can result
in the help becoming the underdog s Goliath instead of their savior. The Hawaiians, being thought of
as the underdogs by the missionaries, were given an overwhelming amount of help which led to the
missionaries becoming the Hawaiian s Goliath. Before Captain Cook stumbled upon Hawaii, the
Hawaiians lived in harmony with the aina, or the land. They lived by ahupua a, or strict land divisions
that respected the natural landscape. Communities were created around rivers and water sources. The
Hawaiians had a strict law system called the kapu. They lived with great respect to the land and
believed in demi gods such as Pele, the goddess of the volcano, or Mau i, who was believed to have
pulled the islands out of the ocean in order for people to live on the land. Peace and prosperity thrived
throughout the islands because people understood that each individual had an important role and that

The Shining By Stephen King
The Shining, a novel written by Stephen King followed by a film directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1980
is a horror/thriller narrative filled with many mysteries of its own. Initially, The Shining portrays itself
as an average The house is haunted but no one believes me story. However, as the plot progresses we
learn that there is much more that goes into the big picture. At its core, the narrative is about isolation,
psychological problems, alcoholism, and the suspense of an impending doom.
Jack, played by Jack Nicholson, is an average middle class man who takes on an opportunity to
become an off season caretaker at a large, isolated resort known as the Overlook Hotel. Along with
him he brings his wife, Wendy and his five year old son, Danny, to spend the winter alone at the Hotel.
Regardless of his wife s cold feet about relocating to such an isolated area during a violent season,
Jack, being the decision maker of the family, sticks to his guns. As a struggling writer, Jack believes
this job to be the perfect opportunity to take to his writing in a peaceful, serene setting where
seemingly nothing can get in his way.
We quickly learn that the Overlook Hotel, as large and luxurious as it is, is not as comforting, relaxing,
or even as welcoming as we are initially led to believe. In fact, it almost immediately exudes negative
energy, with a violent and savage undertone from the very beginning when the family moves in. Most

Different Cooperative Communication Schemes Like Relay...
Abstract
In this survey, we will discuss about different cooperative communication schemes like Relay
communication and Node cooperative system. Later on we will perform comparison between
conventional communication system and cooperative relay scheme based on power efficiency. We will
also discuss about various factors that will impact the efficiency of cooperative systems. We will
conclude with applications of cooperative communication in LTE advanced.
Cooperative communication
Technological convergence in telecommunications and networking has made it possible to bring
voice, data (internet) and other multimedia services over single channel. This has led to significant
increase in network resource demands especially for wireless networks. To address these tremendous
network demands we need to use communication resources efficiently i.e., through Cooperative
communications.
Cooperative communication system uses intelligent nodes or base stations that can consciously help
other nodes to transfer information from the source to the final destination with increased spectral
efficiency and extended coverage in case of Cellular Base stations.
Cooperation in the communication networks can be realized using Relaying and Node Cooperative
systems [1].
Relay communication system
In Relay system, first transmitter sends the data to the relay node and information received by the
relay node is forwarded to next node and finally to the destination receiver by following cooperation

highlighted in this study and were similar to those previously discussed. The researchers simple stated
that this study has found no recipe for success (McAdam and Donagan, 2003). McAdam and Donagan
(2003) significant finding from this study was that three business improvement methodologies of
different philosophical origins could all be systematically combined to contribute to organizational
goals. They support this finding by explaining that there was a distinct lack of evidence, at any level,
of complaints of unnecessary overlap and contradictory goals (McAdam and Donagan, 2003). They
recommend further research is this area because the integration and aggregation of these approaches
and their effects would appear to have the potential to produce a coherent approach to business

The Importance Of A Person Has A Good Work Ethic
In America some jobs are more sought after than others, and to hold these positions without having it
taken away requires experience and a good work ethic. There are many ways to show that a person has
a good work ethic. Some are going to college and graduating with good grades. Others are getting and
holding a job in or after high school or doing internships. However, there can be complications when a
person is trying to show their interviewer that they have a good work ethic. Without a previous job or
internship there is not much information about the individual applying for the job. Thus the employer
might choose another worker. Even if the person without a previous job or internship is a harder
worker with a better work ethic, they cannot show this until they are hired, and that is a risk that
several companies do not take. Impressing potential employers requires the ability to show that one
can receive and hold a previous job, or have been an internship that give the intern with experience in
the work field. One way to make a resume impressive is to have prior work experience. Not only does
this show that a person can hold a position at a place of work, but it also gives the potential employer
a source to contact and receive more information about that individual. Having a prior job can make
you appear to be a better candidate for the prospective job than someone with the same education and
work ethic, but has not had a job. In fact, college students may

Higher Power In George Orwell s 1984
What would happen if the government or another form of power could decide what is real and what is
not? What if one day you woke up and your favorite fun fact or best known memory of the war had
been vaporized overnight? Within George Orwell s dystopian novel titled 1984 there is a perfect
example of a higher power that controls the reality of the population. In this story the higher power,
known as Big Brother, has the power to manipulate facts, the history, and even the thoughts of the
population. The majority of citizens in this book follow Big Brother and whole heartedly believe in all
that The Party has to say, but not Winston. The main character of this story, Winston, knows of many
alterations made to history. Maybe the entire population knows the real truth, but if Big Brother has
the ability to vaporize people, places, or events in history; where is the proof? It has been made clear
all throughout this novel that, yes, Big Brother definitely has the ability to decide what is real and
what is not. The Party does this by making certain people, items, or events completely disappear and
making it clear to the population who is in charge. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and how the government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to maintain the economic stability and growth the government uses two common strategic
approaches towards management of the economy which are:
1: Fiscal policy: concentrating on stimulating the economy through changes in the government income
and expenditure.
2: Monetary Policy, which influences the circular flow of income by changes in the supply of money
and interest rates (Palmer and Hartley, 2006).
4. Methodology
The methodology used to discuss and analyze the given topic would be Case study, which will act as a
primary source of data. Yin (2003) recommended the use of case study protocol as part of a carefully
designed research project. He also added that case studies can be either single or multiple case
designs. Single cases are used to confirm or challenge a theory, or to represent a unique or extreme
case. Uma Sekaran (2003) supports the justification for this methodology according to whom, case
studies involve in depth and background analyses of relatively similar situations within one
environment and compare that of other. She also commented that case studies provide more of
qualitative data rather than quantitative data.
As the topic suggested, the environmental subject of the case study would be UK. It may be noted that
UK was one of the few member nations which was invited to the G 20 meet held on 14 15 of
November 2008. And since the G 20 is a forum that brings together important industrial

Red Wolf Research Paper
The red wolves are an endangered species. Right now they are only 45 60 left the wild. If people don t
do something soon they might become completely extinct.
Red wolves are very similar to the coyotes. As their name name suggests the have red coat but also a
little brown mixed into it. They are the smaller and leaner version of their cousin, the grey wolf. They
are native to the southeast region of North America. Red wolves are mostly found in forest and
swamps but can survive mostly anywhere in the southeast. They are a carnivorous species and their
diet ranges from small rodents to white tailed deer. If they can not find anything else they have been to
eat berries and insects to survive. Red wolves breed once a year during January through February.

They can also breed with coyotes because their DNA is so similar. Both of the parents care for their
young after they are born. The pups leave the den by the time they are 6 weeks old, they reach full size
by the time they are one and can reproduce by the time they are two. Red wolves have many different
adaptations. During the summer they lose their coats and during the winter they grow them back. By
doing this so they can keep cool during the summer and be warm in the winter. They have sharp teeth
that help them catch and eat their prey. Another adaptation of the red wolves is that they can survive
having heartworms. To help them thrive in their habitats they stay in packed. This aids them in
hunting, defensing, and surviving. Red wolves in the wild face many challenges such as over hunting
and loss of habitat. During the 1960 many hunter thought red wolves were dangerous and over hunted
them. The wolves habitat have also been destroyed leaving very few left in the wild today. After being
declared endangered in the 1970s, recovery programs have been created to help save the red wolves.
Today, the red wolf

Justice In The O. J. Simpson Trial
The O.J. Simpson trial was an emotional, time consuming, battle where one side consisted of the
families of two murdered people, and the other of a famous athlete and actor alongside his defense
team, that kept the world glued to their seats in front of their television screen. I believe that there was
no justice in this case. Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman lost their lives and no one was put in prison to
pay for these murders, yes, Simpson had to pay a large sum of money to the families of these two
victims, but was the money really enough? Orenthal James Simpson, was born on July 9, 1947. He
was born in San Francisco, California. His aunt was actually the one who named him after a french
actor that she really liked. Simpson s mom was named Eunice and she was a hospital administrator.
His father, Jimmy Lee, was a chef and bank custodian. The other members of the Simpson family, O.J

Watson s Theory Of Human Caring
Watson s Carative Factors
According to Watson, the ten carative factors of her theory serve as core principles critical to the
practice of human caring (Watson, 2012). Watson s theory provides an appropriate framework to help
palliative care nurses promote positive outcomes in patients experiencing hopelessness. For example,
one of Watson s carative factors encourages patients to promote negative feelings in order to
strengthen the nurse patient relationship (McKay, Rajacich, Rosenbaum, 2002). Encouraging patients
to vent feelings of hopelessness allows the nurse to provide the patient with proper support. Watson s
Theory of Human Caring can be operationalized by demonstration of ten caritas factors in Watson s

Nursing
Definitions of hopelessness in nursing literature tend to vary. According to the North American
Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), hopelessness is a subjective state in which an individual
sees limited or unavailable alternatives or personal choices and is unable to mobilize energy on own
behalf, (2017, p. 466). NANDA s defining characteristics of hopelessness include, but are not limited
to: passivity, lack of involvement in care, decreased appetite and decreased verbalization (2017, p.
466). The concept of hopelessness within the nursing context encompasses cognitive and emotional
elements. In her research, Campbell identified four characteristics of hopelessness: negative future
expectations, loss of control over future outcomes, passive acceptance, and emotional negativity
(Campbell, 1987). Within the nursing context, hopelessness can also be viewed as lack of involvement
in one s own care (Kylma, Duggleby, Cooper, Molander, 2005). Another prominent study in nursing,
however, focusing on the dynamics of hope and hopeless in palliative care suggested that most of the
terminally ill patients attributed their feelings of hopelessness to losses in the past (Olsman, Leget,
Duggleby, Willems, 2015). Feelings of hopelessness can also be considered either state of being or a
character trait (Dunn, 2005). Hopelessness can also be viewed independently

A Whole New Economic Activity Essay
A whole new economic activity has now emerged because of Keggfarms, which till now was a
routine, redundant but a certain source of income even though meagre. The key results could be
underlined as: significant contribution to household income, gender Empowerment, alternate
livelihoods at several points, food security and environmental converter of rubbish into food. The
Govt of India, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, set up a committee headed by a senior
technocrat from NABARD to study the rural poultry scenario with a view to include this sector in the
venture capital fund of the department in the Tenth Five Year Plan. The study revealed that Kuroiler
farming in the traditional style was being extensively practiced in villages with substantial benefits to
rural stakeholders. NABARD presented bankable and venture capital funding for Kuroiler farming
projects in rural areas In 2009, a joint venture of FAO and NDDB (SAPPLPP) studied the impact of
the Keggfarms model of Kuroiler farming in rural India. Results indicated that very substantial
benefits were accruing to rural stakeholders. (Kapur Singh)
Innovation in distribution channel :
The most remarkable innovation by Keggfarms was the invention of a method for physically
distributing the chickens from the hatcheries to the often remote villages, which would require
unconventional methods that provided significant incentives for all of the links in a vast distribution

Analogy of Wynnere and Wastoure in the Middle of the 14th...
Every where in life there are opposite forces which cannot exist with out one another. These things,
whether opposing actions or opposing thoughts, often in the end cannot exist without one another. For
if in the end one prevailed, there would be an unbalance. You cannot have ying without yang or life
without death. In Wynnere and Wastoure there is a harmony between the two characters. While this
harmony may be unclear to both of the characters, it becomes evident after each volley of arguments
that there is no winner in this battle. Wynnere cannot exist without Wastoure.

Winner on the other hand fails to recognize that because of this he is able to take advantage of these
cheap properties and collect more wealth. This is a prime example of how Winner needs Waster.
Winner counters Wasters argument that his spending spreads the wealth by trying to point out that
Wasters wastefulness is source of the shortage which causes the poor to be poor.
Waster then tries to validate his extravagance by countering with his generosity. He tries to exonerate
his extravagance by giving the excess to the poor and providing work for the poor from the creation of
extravagant feasts and clothes. Winner counters by saying that no matter what excess is given to the
poor if the food and clothes were not extravagant, there would be much more to go around. Winner
provides a valid point by stating this, but as Winner says this he backs himself into a corner. If money
is saved it does nothing but enrich the friars and other merchants. It does not serve the poor any better

and it becomes even more evident that neither extreme is correct. The only correct solution can be
achieved through meeting in the middle of these two extremes. Neither Winner nor Waster is always

Jack The Ripper Compare And Contrast
Jack the Ripper is a figure that has mystified people for a hundred years. One of the first known serial
killers, he killed prostitutes in England from August to November in 1888. Most serial killers have
signatures often indicative of their specific psychology and the Ripper case is no exception to that.
Oftentimes, Jack the Ripper murdered opportunistically, watching for victims with similar situations
to each other.
The first murder, of Mary Ann Nicholls, took place on 31 August. Annie Chapman was killed on 8
September. Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes were murdered 30 September and Mary Jane

and justify the importance of the role of absolutism in French society. The culmination of this work
can be found in his legal digest, On Social Order and Absolute Monarchy. Many interesting ideas
about the theory of absolutism can be found in his writings. It explains the essential environment for
absolutism, defines the origin and necessity of government, and demonstrates the duties of the
sovereign.
Domat s theory first begins with the idea of a perfect society. It is one with a comfortable style of
living for all in the nation. For this to occur, a state of order is necessary. Everyone needs to know
their rank and work together to contribute to society. Specific roles are given to each person, and
ideally they will all work to the best of their ability. It is in this environment that absolutism thrives.
Relationships between the government and the governed are easier to foster when everyone has a duty
and they do not question their place in the community. Because Domat gave this basis for absolutism
with his idea of teamwork in a state, he is able to justify the rest of his theory.
After providing the basis, Domat justifies the role of government. He starts by stating that all men are
essentially equal by nature. This seems like it would argue against absolute power of government, but
he goes on to find the differences in society. They actually appear in the form of things like social
status, occupation, and relationships built. These factors are what gives rank and society, which in
return prove the need of government. According to Domat, these dynamics also arise in nature. He
explains, this distinction leads to a first kind of government in families, where children owe obedience
to their parents, who head the

Tehmina Durrani My Feudal Lord Critical Analysis
Tehmina Durrani is a prominent woman writer of Pakistan. She writes about the subordinated and
marginal status of women in Pakistani society. She portrays the miserable plight of women in a so
called democratic country. Her works reflect female subjugation and sufferings encountered by the
majority of women in the conservative milieu of Pakistan. She articulates her own experiences and
holds the political, religious and social mechanism responsible for such plight of women in society.
The present paper analyses her autobiographical novel My Feudal Lord and aims at studying various
discourses like patriarchy, feudalism, misinterpretation of religion and social taboos, which, according
to the novelist, are responsible for the oppression of women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The concept of acculturation refers to the social processes by which we learn the knowledge and skills
that enable us to be members of a culture. Key sites and agents of acculturation would include the
family, peer groups, schools, work organizations and the media. (2)
Tehmina Durrani also encounters such behaviour in her parents and later at her husband s house. Due
to her dark complexion, Tehmina could not become her mother s favourite. Although she obeyed her
mother s commands, the latter was not satisfied with her:
My mother demanded total obedience and, although I always complied, she discerned early signs of
rebellion in both my expression and my body language. I obeyed, but my crime was that I did not look

My Trip To Doylestown
The following is 100% true. It happened a while ago, but I ll do my best to put everything in as much
detail as I can remmeber. It s a story of the funniest thing that ever happened to me. I believe I was 19
years old. My best friend Nick was 17 at the time. One day we took a trip out to Doylestown, PA. The
main reason for this was to go to the comic book store in town Cyborg One Comics. Obviously this
was back when I was still collecting comics. Nick had told me that the store was one of the best in the
area, so on one weekend (I don t remember if it was Satorday or Sunday) we took a trip up there. I
couldn t tell you today what book I bought from there. I was never one for statues or other
memorabilia but, I know that I bought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being in the middle of the county, all of the major county court cases take place here, but I digress.
Anyway, like most small towns, Doylestown has a Main Street. The only Wendy s in Doylestown is
on Main Street. At the time, the Wendy s wasn t an overly large building. We go inside and order
lunch. Minor details escape me in this story. I can tell you that what I remember next is something that
I affectionately call The Wendy s Incident . I don t remember what we had for lunch, how many
people were in the dining room or even what time it was. What I do remember makes me break out in
laughter even today and it s something that I occassionally try to recreate (to a degree). During lunch,
I felt a burp coming on. I let loose with it and took my hands and pushed on my stomach as the burp
happened. The issue with this is that the burp kept coming and the volume seemed to increase
exponentially with the length of the burp. All I can remember is that the burp was almost inhuman and
at the time, the crew was in the back of the restaruant in the kitchen. If you re ever seen the movie
Revenge of the Nerds II, think of the scene where Booger meets Snotty and Snotty burps and shatters
the mirror in his room. This was one of those

Levittown Experiment Essay
Levittown Experiment
Levittown project was taken up in the U.S. after the end of Second World War, with the aim of
providing mass housing facilities to people in the wake of increasing urbanization and problems of
accommodating large population in limited urban area (Friedman. 1995). The first of Levittown
apartments were constructed on Long Island, New York and they symbolized the modern trends of
urbanization and housing developments (Clapson. 2003). This paper shall study the impact of

2003). Abraham Levitt, a prominent builder, understood the importance of providing housing to
people of every income range and he responded to the situation by constructing rows of identical four
room apartments at Long Island, New York, that were offered to veteran war soldiers for only $60 a
month (Jackson. 1985; Clapson. 2003). Levittown, the mass housing facility designed and constructed
by Levitts, was vehemently criticized by architects for producing homogenous and suffocating
environment and being antithetical to lofted architectural principles (Jackson. 1985). But the critics
ignored the fact that, Levitt could not incorporate the lofty and stylist architectural designs that were
hallmark of most of Victorian style villas and bungalows and yet produce houses on mass scale, in
quick time and provide them for sale at most affordable prices. His aim was to construct the best
houses at least cost to provide most economical housing. The fact was that Levitt had successfully
fulfilled the demands and dreams of many Americans of owning their own house. To fully appreciate
the significance of Levittown, it must be seen in context of the great housing

The Functions Of Financial Institutions Within A Financial...
Discuss the functions of financial institutions within a financial system and give examples of financial
services and products that are traded by these institutions.
A financial institution is something that has been established that contains financial trades for example
investments, getting a loan or putting a deposit (ABP, 2001). Financial institutions get dealt with on
day to day so almost everyone deals with it. Majority of the depositing, borrowing money, exchanging
money contains and must be done through financial institutions.
The functions in financial system contains:
Investment Banks
Commercial banks
Insurance Companies
Investments companies
One of the functions of the financial institutions is Commercial Banks. Commercial banks will accept
deposits and provide very good security and make it suitable for their customers. This is just a normal
role for the bank to give their customers money safe so that their customers don t have to physically
keep their belonging in their home or on them (APB, 2001). With having commercial banks there is no
need to keep large amount of money in hand because the banks can handle it such as online banking,
checks, debit card or credit card.

EMOTIONS THAT MAY ACCOMPANY AN EMPLOYEE LAYOFF.
One way that a manager can help ease the pain of an employee that s been laid off is to let them know
that a layoff may occur as soon as the manager receives word that there may be one in works. This
will give the employee a jump start on looking and preparing for their finances and job skills and

My manager informed me that I was getting laid off due to me not being needed anymore and so I was
escorted back to the building and had to pack all of my personal stuff and that was that. I was
devastated by the uncertainness of my future and family, after about 6 months my family and I lost
everything, house, car, and storage. Avoiding Fridays and the day before a holiday or vacation is best
because letting an employee go on a Friday gives the employee two days to contemplate his treatment
by the company and to look for ways to retaliate. Discharging a person early in the week provides him
with an opportunity to focus on the future and begin looking for a new job right away.
Step: #4
The actual meeting should last about 10 to 15 minutes and have the sole purpose of providing a simple
and precise statement of the decision to terminate the employment relationship. During the meeting
make sure that there is an adequate reason for the discharge. Many workers sue their ex employers
because they really want a full explanation of why they were let go and a chance to give their side of
the story. You should seek out the employee s explanation or interpretation of events, allow them to
vent a little bit without interrupting them. Making it clear that the decision is final is very important
also because this way it s easier to keep your cool and keep control of the situation. Briefly running
through the benefits ensures the employee understands his vacation

The Hungry Tide By Amitav Ghosh
It is no wonder that how advanced the world may be, there are still a number of human beings, who
struggle a lot for their survival; These are the human beings, who are pushed to the margins for the
reasons unknown to them, these are the human beings, who are denied a secured place in the world for
the mistakes which are not committed by them. These are marginalized people and just like them, their
history too is marginalized. Being neglected by the mainstream history, this marginalized history,
sometimes has to transform itself and settle in fiction in order to come into light.

Poetry Essay Beauty is a subjective idea that focuses on the characteristics preferable to a single
species that gives an advantage over another and at the cost of another species survival. Humans have
created astounding empires with beautiful cities and monuments because they were the most
progressive species that are able to do so because of their capacity for violence. Some empires fear for
their survival, so they must eliminate any threat whether it be humans or other animals. The poem,
Thanks by Yusef Komunyakaa, it symbolizes how humans can become single minded only driven by
their own personal desires at the sake of anyone else. Humans naturally commit ugly atrocities to
progress their own beauty, or at least idea of, and they instinctively oppose nature because mankind is
the dark side of nature. The poem describes the life of a man during the Vietnam War, a conflict
involving the United States and local Vietnamese who supported a communist regime, and how
unexplainable sporadic events saved his life. He gives thanks to an unknown force that saves his life
multiple times throughout his tour in Vietnam because the instances are what some people consider
luck and others and act of a higher being or deity. Throughout the poem he expresses his gratitude
towards the entity that watches over him but later he questions the existence of a god because why

The 1960 s in the United States
To some people the 1960s were the best of times, to others it was a period where many things went
wrong in society. Why do people have such different ideas about the 1960s?
Many people who lived through the 60s decade feel it was revolutionary; a swinging period after years
of austerity and gloom with the young people commanding the army of change.
This view however, has been challenged. Some think that the 60s have a misguided view. Instead of
the sixties transforming life for the better, it actually made life worse.

there was the assassination of President Kennedy and the Vietnam War. Both were destructive and sad
events. Locally in England, there was the profumo affair where a British politician had an affair with a
Russian who was considered an enemy because of the cold war. This struck chaos into political values
in England.
During the sixties, there were many changes to the legal system in England. The death penalty became

This was a debated decision as was the legalisation of abortion. Some thought and still think that

Society In Plato s Five Cyclic Stages Of Government
Everything can be defined by placement in a category. In his Republic, Plato defines the changes that
a society undergoes by categorizing the changes into five cyclic stages of government. The first stage
of government, aristocracy, has the aristocrat do their art for the sake of their art. The second stage is
timocracy, wherein the timocrat works for the sake of honor. In the third stage, oligarchy, the oligarch
works under the sway of greed. Democracy, is the fourth stage, where the democrat is slave to the
destructive thirst for freedom. The final, and according to Plato, the worst stage, is tyranny, wherein
the tyrant strives for power. Within the public school system, the lives of high school students mirror
the lives of people within a functioning society. In Hercules High School, the students lives, and
therefore, their classes are also defined by the different governments. These classes include the
aristocratic Medical Careers, the timocratic AP US History, and the tyrannical Dance Production. The
aristocratic Medical Careers, taught by Mr. Crosby, is a class full of students aspiring to be in the
medical field. Plato defines aristocracy as the government of the best, where the several classes [of
people] will receive the proportion of happiness which nature assigns to them. In an aristocracy, the
different social classes are proficient in their own special art, and continually strive to better their art.
Just as each social class receives this proportion

Acceptance Vs Conformity Essay
1. Shipment of goods an order may be construed as acceptance of a contract, as stated in UCC 2 206.
However, under UCC 2 606 (1)(a) this implied acceptance is only pertinent to conforming goods. If
upon inspection within reasonable time, the goods are determined to be non conforming, there is no
acceptance. Acceptance is solely intended to be for goods that adequately meet the terms of a contract.
In this case, a waterski that breaks down almost immediately is not an example of a conforming good.
Andy wanting his money back is signaling to the shop that he will not accept this non conforming
good as completion of their contract. 2. a. It is true that buyers must notify the seller of a breach within
a reasonable amount of time for a remedy, under UCC 2 607 (3)(a). If the time from discovery to
notification is deemed outside the limits of reasonability, then there may be no remedy derived or
implied in the Uniform Commercial Code. To best assure remedy though, per the UCC, it is best that
any nonconformance be immediately conveyed to the seller upon discovery. This allows a seller a

Connections to World History Explanation
Archaeology
Archaeology helps us understand world history by showing us how the ancient groups of people lived
before us. They do this by reviewing artifacts left behind by the people of the past. This special branch
of study helps us grasp a vast majority of the events that happened before us. Remains left behind are
evaluted and preserved to be showcased for future refrences and to give us a look in on who they
were.
Geography
Geography helps us understand world history by teaching us about the Earth and all of its many

The promise of a decade of development of high technology air power was expected by some to show
a new way of fighting wars. The evidence from the campaign appears to give a more mixed message.
Certainly, a higher percentage of air weapons was guided in this conflict than in any previous war.
Strategic intelligence appears to have been less accurate than had been expected.
The unexpected initial resistance by Iraqi forces, followed by later surrender, required flexible
coalition operations. The vision of the use of chemical and biological weapons proved groundless. The
efficiency of special operations will be one area for deeper revision. The media policy will need
reviewing for future operations. At this stage, the article does no more than record the sequence of
events, make broad judgements about the strategic and tactical approaches of both the Coalition and
Iraqi forces, and highlights areas where further investigation may be useful to draw firmer
conclusions.
1. Introduction
On 20th March 2003 US president George W. Bush launched a military campaign against Iraq. Its
codename was Operation Iraqi Freedom. It has different names in other coalition countries, but one
common denominator amp;#8211; it still doesn amp;#8217;t have a formal conclusion. Although the
end of major military operations was declared on May 1st 2003, it is clearly obvious now one year

Teachings of the Bible and the Christian Church About Human Responsibility for the World
The Bible contains many teachings about our human responsibility towards the created world. It talks
about the start of creation in Genesis. Here it is made clear that human beings are made in the image
of God so that they can continue his good work. At the outset they are given power over the rest of
creation and now if all humans work together to make the world a better place they will be more
powerful so it will happen, but even if just a few people are not willing to help then all will fall apart
(see poster).
The other implication here is that the power comes with responsibility. The role of human beings ...

Unfortunately, the people most affected are those who are poorer. The greed and pollution of people in
the Northern Hemisphere is having a serious impact on global warming and the worst effects f this are
experienced not by us in the Northern Hemisphere but by those in the Southern Hemisphere. These
people, already living in great poverty, then suffer even greater problems in terms of severe droughts,
famines, flooding etc., which leaves them even poorer. The Bible makes it quite clear that in terms of
looking after the world, we have a duty not only to look after the environment but also to look after
our fellow human beings. Hence the most important teaching, Love thy neighbour as yourself . Jesus
made it quite clear in the story he told about the Good Samaritan that our neighbour is anyone and
everyone who is in need, even our enemy, irrespective of their race/colour/religion.
Another important teaching, called one body many parts, makes it clear that human beings physically
make up the body of God here on Earth. We are therefore his hands; his feet etc and therefore we
should do what he would do himself if he were physically present. What we should do is look after
our neighbour. Furthermore, if just some of us, (one tiny bit of the body) does not do what it is
supposed to do then everyone else will be weakened. We must work together in

Kasper Rorsted Essay
Abstract
How was CEO Kasper Rorsted able to transform an underperforming consumer goods company into a
great one? What methods and techniques did he use to help motivate his employees? What is the
winning culture all about? Could the agenda that Rorsted put before his company be implemented at
other large multinational corporations? I will attempt in this paper to answer these questions and more
as I dig into the life of Kasper Rorsted and his transformation of Henkel.
When Kasper Rorsted joined Henkel in 2005, it was with the understanding that he would eventually
replace current CEO, Ulrich Lehner. The process was a three year journey that would prepare Rorsted
to assume the reigns of a floundering consumer goods and cosmetics company. Rorsted was 43 years
old at the time and did not have expertise in the fields of chemicals or cosmetics. Henkel s
headquarters are in Germany, but Rorsted is not German. As a matter of fact, when Rorsted became
CEO of Henkel in 2008 three years after he was hired he became the company s first CEO who was
not born in either Germany or its neighboring country of Austria (Simons, 2014).
Rorsted was born in Denmark and began his early career working for American based ... Show more

He instituted a new philosophy that changed the culture from one of complacency to one of
achievement. Rorsted began as CEO during the most economically challenging time possible the
height of the global recession. To be fair, Henkel was not the only large corporation that was
struggling during this period. The global recession did not discriminate and it took no prisoners; net
profit for the company was cut in half, as well as the company stock price. But, despite the gloomy
global outlook, Rorsted promised better days ahead. He made grand predictions as to how Henkel
would reemerge from this downturn a much stronger and focused corporation (Simons,

Insider s Theory Of Religion
Religion Explained has a bold title for a bold claim. Pascal Boyer believes he has solved why religion
is what it is, and why it came into existence. He faces challenges by leaving gaps in his argument.
Rituals and belief are left unexplainable, leaving room for the criticism of an insider v. outsider
situation. Yet, even with these gaps, he states that religion is simply a byproduct of mental inference
system. In the first paper, I proposed how I believe one should classify what religion is, and in this
essay, I will break down and examine Boyer s claims as it relates to religious theory and describing v.
explaining in order to further understand my suggestion and see if his scientific theories have changed
my ideas at all. Boyer points ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
outsider issue is a problem that has come up in every session of this class. Smith could see that the
outsider could only get into half of his proposal for sure (tradition), and only study the acts of faith not
faith itself. In the WPR reenactment, there were constant battles between practitioners being outsiders
to other religions. A complete outsider, a scholar, was able to bring almost unanimous unity to the
parliament, but at the cost of watering down some of the faiths. In the real WPR, they came to the
consensus of no consensus where Richard Seager argues plurality develops in that conclusion. Boyer,
on the other hand, believes an outsider will find that quite a lot of what [people] do and think can be
observed outside if these groups. He then goes on to say that groups of people have many norms and
practices that are specific to that group. Religion can provide (and has provided) terms to create
groups, like he is referring to. How can one understand and observe what people, who practice the
religion, cannot explain? This is where he believes that by examining the brain, even an outsider can
see into a religious person s reason, and outsiders can come up with explanations of why that the
insider cannot elaborate

Restitution Self-Discipline And The Least Coercive Road
Within the classroom it is important to set a rapport with the students by acting professionally and
regulating our emotions in a way that will facilitate a positive classroom atmosphere. By setting
classroom limits firmly, with respect and consistency, it allows us to accept the inevitable ambiguity
and uncertainty that arises from allowing students to figure out the problem on their own. Through
empathy and sensitivity towards the students, it will serve to strengthen teacher student relationships,
as well as the classroom climate and management (Pianta, La Paro, Payne, Cox, Bradley, 2002 as cited
in Jennings Greenberg, 2009). As teachers, we will also pay particular attention to students who are
not emotionally well regulated (display ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Restitution teaches the child what one should be doing, whether or not they are being watched. Since
restitution does not depend on punishment and rewards, children end up doing the right thing for
themselves, and not to please their classmates or teacher. Once our students learn this skill, it will

Moon Landing Hoax
Moon Landing
Was the Moon landing real or a hoax? The moon landing was a major scientific breakthrough and a
great day for America. The problem is, it might ve been faked. There are many pieces of evidence
showing that it could have been faked but there is also evidence showing that the moon landing could
have also been real. I believe that the moon landing was not a hoax. The flag was blowing in the wind
but how was it supposed to stop if there is no friction on the moon? The astronauts shadows don t
match the lunar light source because there was a matte box on the camera . That there were absolutely
no stars in the sky because the pictures were taken during the day.

Graffit-Self Expression or Vandalism
A painting tells a story on paper, and graffiti tells a story too, said Steve, a 22 year old Vancouver
based street artist who asked that his name not be published. People just don t see past where [the
story is being told].
Societal conceptions of urban graffiti are all over the map. While some view graffiti as the flourishing
of urban art and expression, others view it as a sign of generational decay or a lack of respect for
others property. After all, the people forced to view the graffiti didn t ask to see public displays of
expression. According to the City of Calgary website, Graffiti is an eyesore that ruins the natural and
architectural beauty of a city. But has the city ever considered a difference between racist ... Show

The movement has essentially grown into art through the intention of the artists themselves. Since the
movement has grown, street artists have become famous worldwide. The most dynamic artists were
featured in MOCA s exhibit, but one among them received his own section: British street artist
Banksy.
Banksy, one of the most notorious (in a good way) artists of the moment, seems to come from a
different place than many young street artists. His goal isn t to gain fame, or infamy for that matter,
but to awaken the world to the ironic injustices that plague our society and our culture. He s actually
gone to extreme measures to keep his true identity unknown to this point, further proving that he s not
in it for the fame. His art beautifully depicts the hard truths of our culture in a uniquely contemporary
way, and his murals, often placed on public property, are well thought out and planned. In Banksy s
2010 documentary, Exit Through the Gift Shop, art collector Wendy Asher praises the success of his
first commercial art show: Everyone I told about it bought something. Like people who have Picassos
and, you know, Mondreans . . . I mean, serious collections. Whether Asher s art collectors bought
Banksy s pieces only for the controversial appeal or for the quality of the piece itself, the fact that the
art show was a success indicates the value of street art.
Banksy s section at Art in the Streets generated quite a buzz from museum goers. I won t

Tristan And Isolde Essay
In Tristan, by Gottfried Von Strassburg, Tristan and Isolde s love is best characterized as being moral
and immoral at the same time. This paradoxical feature is indivisible to their relationship and it
appears in various incidents, for example, when Isolde receives the ordeal of hot red iron and when
Isolde and Tristan lie together in a cave with a sword between them.
In Chapter 23, in order to prove her innocence and to end the rumor in the court, Isolde has to accept
Bishop s suggestion for an ordeal of hot red iron. She fears her reputation and honor will be ruined at
once and she is also troubled by the fact that she needs to come up with a plot to whitewash her
falseness (246). She confides all these secret struggles to God and she finds her way through praying
and fasting. Isolde does not feel bad about her immoral love with Tristan; ... Show more content on

Tristan and Isolde are banished because Mark, King of Cornwall, is suspicious again. Led by the
master huntsman, Mark discovers the cave where the two live in and, with deep suspicion in his heart,
he believes this is the chance to discover the truth. Through the window, he finds his wife and nephew
well away from each other, one on one side, the other on the other, with the naked sword between
them (272). Tristan and Isolde seem to be so innocent, however, they hide their guilt in deep as this is
another plot to cover their immoral love. The virtuous act is indeed immoral because it hides their
intimate relationship. Tristan proposes this plan out of constant fear that someone might discover their
relationship. Isolde adopts the plan as neither does she want it to happen. In fact, the two enjoy their
time together very much. The cave they live in is called the Cave of Lovers, with a bed in the center
which is engraved along its sides with letters, announcing that the bed was dedicated to the Goddess
of Love (261). It is like the all knowing God prepares this cave for

  • 2. Psychopathy Vs Sociopathy In the United States there are approximately 1,075,000 psychopathic males in prison or on parole out of 1,150,000 males that meet the criteria for psychopathy (Kiehl and Hoffman). Psychopaths and sociopaths tend to commit more crimes than mentally sound people because of their lack of empathy but with the right treatment they can begin to understand right from wrong. Both psychopathy and sociopathy are defined as antisocial personality disorders that produce a lack of empathy in the victims (Porter). The topics of psychopathy and sociopathy have numerous causes which negatively affect the victim, his or her family and the society in which they live; however, treatment for psychopathy and sociopathy can be a positive force for the future of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Psychotherapy has been shown to be the most effective treatment option for psychopathy and sociopathy. In a study from 2013, psychotherapy was 35% more effective than other known treatment methods (Salekin et al. 7). This suggests that psychotherapy is the best option for treatment. Psychotherapy helps to minimize the symptoms of psychopathy and sociopathy. After 2 months of psychotherapy a man started to have less violent outbursts (Porter). This example suggests that psychotherapy can enable the victim to push back against their symptoms. The victim will have to continue getting treatment until age 40. The treatment method of psychotherapy is to talk through situations and feelings with a psychiatrist, this treatment should continue until around the age of 40 as this is about the age the expression of the illness stops (Salekin et al. 6). The victims will have to seek help in order to control their symptoms, if they do it will be a long journey for both the victim and the family. • 3. Native Hawaiians And Native Americans When Native Hawaiians welcomed Captain Cook and his crew, they began a journey that would lead to the crumbling of Hawaiian culture. After Captain Cook, missionaries continued to travel to Hawaii to, in their opinion, help the Hawaiian people. Native Hawaiians were viewed as savages and were seemingly given the best assistance from the missionaries. However, the help that the Hawaiians received led to them being demoralized and hurt psychologically and physiologically. In order to succeed, underdogs often need the assistance of others. However, too much aid from others can result in the help becoming the underdog s Goliath instead of their savior. The Hawaiians, being thought of as the underdogs by the missionaries, were given an overwhelming amount of help which led to the missionaries becoming the Hawaiian s Goliath. Before Captain Cook stumbled upon Hawaii, the Hawaiians lived in harmony with the aina, or the land. They lived by ahupua a, or strict land divisions that respected the natural landscape. Communities were created around rivers and water sources. The Hawaiians had a strict law system called the kapu. They lived with great respect to the land and believed in demi gods such as Pele, the goddess of the volcano, or Mau i, who was believed to have pulled the islands out of the ocean in order for people to live on the land. • 4. The Shining By Stephen King The Shining, a novel written by Stephen King followed by a film directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1980 is a horror/thriller narrative filled with many mysteries of its own. Initially, The Shining portrays itself as an average The house is haunted but no one believes me story. However, as the plot progresses we learn that there is much more that goes into the big picture. At its core, the narrative is about isolation, psychological problems, alcoholism, and the suspense of an impending doom. Jack, played by Jack Nicholson, is an average middle class man who takes on an opportunity to become an off season caretaker at a large, isolated resort known as the Overlook Hotel. Along with him he brings his wife, Wendy and his five year old son, Danny, to spend the winter alone at the Hotel. Regardless of his wife s cold feet about relocating to such an isolated area during a violent season, Jack, being the decision maker of the family, sticks to his guns. As a struggling writer, Jack believes this job to be the perfect opportunity to take to his writing in a peaceful, serene setting where seemingly nothing can get in his way. We quickly learn that the Overlook Hotel, as large and luxurious as it is, is not as comforting, relaxing, or even as welcoming as we are initially led to believe. In fact, it almost immediately exudes negative energy, with a violent and savage undertone from the very beginning when the family moves in. Most affected by this, is the son of the family, Danny, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Different Cooperative Communication Schemes Like Relay... Abstract In this survey, we will discuss about different cooperative communication schemes like Relay communication and Node cooperative system. Later on we will perform comparison between conventional communication system and cooperative relay scheme based on power efficiency. We will also discuss about various factors that will impact the efficiency of cooperative systems. We will conclude with applications of cooperative communication in LTE advanced. Cooperative communication Technological convergence in telecommunications and networking has made it possible to bring voice, data (internet) and other multimedia services over single channel. This has led to significant increase in network resource demands especially for wireless networks. To address these tremendous network demands we need to use communication resources efficiently i.e., through Cooperative communications. Cooperative communication system uses intelligent nodes or base stations that can consciously help other nodes to transfer information from the source to the final destination with increased spectral efficiency and extended coverage in case of Cellular Base stations. Cooperation in the communication networks can be realized using Relaying and Node Cooperative systems [1]. Relay communication system In Relay system, first transmitter sends the data to the relay node and information received by the relay node is forwarded to next node and finally to the destination receiver by following cooperation ... • 7. The Importance Of A Person Has A Good Work Ethic In America some jobs are more sought after than others, and to hold these positions without having it taken away requires experience and a good work ethic. There are many ways to show that a person has a good work ethic. Some are going to college and graduating with good grades. Others are getting and holding a job in or after high school or doing internships. However, there can be complications when a person is trying to show their interviewer that they have a good work ethic. Without a previous job or internship there is not much information about the individual applying for the job. Thus the employer might choose another worker. Even if the person without a previous job or internship is a harder worker with a better work ethic, they cannot show this until they are hired, and that is a risk that several companies do not take. Impressing potential employers requires the ability to show that one can receive and hold a previous job, or have been an internship that give the intern with experience in the work field. One way to make a resume impressive is to have prior work experience. Not only does this show that a person can hold a position at a place of work, but it also gives the potential employer a source to contact and receive more information about that individual. Having a prior job can make you appear to be a better candidate for the prospective job than someone with the same education and work ethic, but has not had a job. In fact, college students may ... What if one day you woke up and your favorite fun fact or best known memory of the war had been vaporized overnight? Within George Orwell s dystopian novel titled 1984 there is a perfect example of a higher power that controls the reality of the population. In order to maintain the economic stability and growth the government uses two common strategic approaches towards management of the economy which are: 1: Fiscal policy: concentrating on stimulating the economy through changes in the government income and expenditure. 2: Monetary Policy, which influences the circular flow of income by changes in the supply of money and interest rates (Palmer and Hartley, 2006). 4. Methodology The methodology used to discuss and analyze the given topic would be Case study, which will act as a primary source of data. Yin (2003) recommended the use of case study protocol as part of a carefully designed research project. He also added that case studies can be either single or multiple case designs. Single cases are used to confirm or challenge a theory, or to represent a unique or extreme case. Uma Sekaran (2003) supports the justification for this methodology according to whom, case studies involve in depth and background analyses of relatively similar situations within one environment and compare that of other. She also commented that case studies provide more of qualitative data rather than quantitative data. As the topic suggested, the environmental subject of the case study would be UK. Watson s Theory Of Human Caring Watson s Carative Factors According to Watson, the ten carative factors of her theory serve as core principles critical to the practice of human caring (Watson, 2012). Watson s theory provides an appropriate framework to help palliative care nurses promote positive outcomes in patients experiencing hopelessness. For example, one of Watson s carative factors encourages patients to promote negative feelings in order to strengthen the nurse patient relationship (McKay, Rajacich, Rosenbaum, 2002). Nursing Definitions of hopelessness in nursing literature tend to vary. According to the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA), hopelessness is a subjective state in which an individual sees limited or unavailable alternatives or personal choices and is unable to mobilize energy on own behalf, (2017, p. 466). NANDA s defining characteristics of hopelessness include, but are not limited to: passivity, lack of involvement in care, decreased appetite and decreased verbalization (2017, p. 466). The concept of hopelessness within the nursing context encompasses cognitive and emotional elements. In her research, Campbell identified four characteristics of hopelessness: negative future expectations, loss of control over future outcomes, passive acceptance, and emotional negativity (Campbell, 1987). Within the nursing context, hopelessness can also be viewed as lack of involvement in one s own care (Kylma, Duggleby, Cooper, Molander, 2005). Another prominent study in nursing, however, focusing on the dynamics of hope and hopeless in palliative care suggested that most of the terminally ill patients attributed their feelings of hopelessness to losses in the past (Olsman, Leget, Duggleby, Willems, 2015). You cannot have ying without yang or life without death. In Wynnere and Wastoure there is a harmony between the two characters. While this harmony may be unclear to both of the characters, it becomes evident after each volley of arguments that there is no winner in this battle. Wynnere cannot exist without Wastoure. Wynnere and Wastoure is a book steeped in the social problems of the time. The poem is dated from 1352 to 1353. The book was written around the end of the black plague ... This is a prime example of how Winner needs Waster. Winner counters Wasters argument that his spending spreads the wealth by trying to point out that Wasters wastefulness is source of the shortage which causes the poor to be poor. Waster then tries to validate his extravagance by countering with his generosity. He tries to exonerate his extravagance by giving the excess to the poor and providing work for the poor from the creation of extravagant feasts and clothes. Winner counters by saying that no matter what excess is given to the poor if the food and clothes were not extravagant, there would be much more to go around. Winner provides a valid point by stating this, but as Winner says this he backs himself into a corner. If money is saved it does nothing but enrich the friars and other merchants. It does not serve the poor any better then extravagant spending. Here again the reader sees a striking similarity between the two extremes, and it becomes even more evident that neither extreme is correct. The only correct solution can be achieved through meeting in the middle of these two extremes. Neither Winner nor Waster is always correct. Up to this point both Winner and Waster have proved that neither of the two sides is absolutely correct. Their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the first known serial killers, he killed prostitutes in England from August to November in 1888. Most serial killers have signatures often indicative of their specific psychology and the Ripper case is no exception to that. Oftentimes, Jack the Ripper murdered opportunistically, watching for victims with similar situations to each other. The first murder, of Mary Ann Nicholls, took place on 31 August. • 21. King Louis XIV, On Social Order And Absolute Monarchy After suppressing revolts by the Fronde in 17th century France, King Louis XIV had become the supreme ruler of the country. Without any challenges to his power, he was able to practice absolutism, which is the concentration of power and symbolic authority in royal hands. With this power Louis XIV had many great achievements in France. He improved the tax system, religion, trading, and court life.1 Jean Domat was a juror who was supported by the king himself. He dedicated his life to explain and justify the importance of the role of absolutism in French society. The culmination of this work can be found in his legal digest, On Social Order and Absolute Monarchy. Many interesting ideas about the theory of absolutism can be found in his writings. It explains the essential environment for absolutism, defines the origin and necessity of government, and demonstrates the duties of the sovereign. Domat s theory first begins with the idea of a perfect society. It is one with a comfortable style of living for all in the nation. For this to occur, a state of order is necessary. Everyone needs to know their rank and work together to contribute to society. Specific roles are given to each person, and ideally they will all work to the best of their ability. It is in this environment that absolutism thrives. Relationships between the government and the governed are easier to foster when everyone has a duty and they do not question their place in the community. Because Domat gave this basis for absolutism with his idea of teamwork in a state, he is able to justify the rest of his theory. After providing the basis, Domat justifies the role of government. He starts by stating that all men are essentially equal by nature. This seems like it would argue against absolute power of government, but he goes on to find the differences in society. They actually appear in the form of things like social status, occupation, and relationships built. These factors are what gives rank and society, which in return prove the need of government. According to Domat, these dynamics also arise in nature. He explains, this distinction leads to a first kind of government in families, where children owe obedience to their parents, who head the ... In his Republic, Plato defines the changes that a society undergoes by categorizing the changes into five cyclic stages of government. The first stage of government, aristocracy, has the aristocrat do their art for the sake of their art. The second stage is timocracy, wherein the timocrat works for the sake of honor. In the third stage, oligarchy, the oligarch works under the sway of greed. Democracy, is the fourth stage, where the democrat is slave to the destructive thirst for freedom. The final, and according to Plato, the worst stage, is tyranny, wherein the tyrant strives for power. Within the public school system, the lives of high school students mirror the lives of people within a functioning society. In Hercules High School, the students lives, and therefore, their classes are also defined by the different governments. These classes include the aristocratic Medical Careers, the timocratic AP US History, and the tyrannical Dance Production. The aristocratic Medical Careers, taught by Mr. Crosby, is a class full of students aspiring to be in the medical field. Plato defines aristocracy as the government of the best, where the several classes [of people] will receive the proportion of happiness which nature assigns to them. • 38. Acceptance Vs Conformity Essay 1. Shipment of goods an order may be construed as acceptance of a contract, as stated in UCC 2 206. However, under UCC 2 606 (1)(a) this implied acceptance is only pertinent to conforming goods. If upon inspection within reasonable time, the goods are determined to be non conforming, there is no acceptance. Acceptance is solely intended to be for goods that adequately meet the terms of a contract. In this case, a waterski that breaks down almost immediately is not an example of a conforming good. Andy wanting his money back is signaling to the shop that he will not accept this non conforming good as completion of their contract. 2. a. It is true that buyers must notify the seller of a breach within a reasonable amount of time for a remedy, under UCC 2 607 (3)(a). If the time from discovery to notification is deemed outside the limits of reasonability, then there may be no remedy derived or implied in the Uniform Commercial Code. To best assure remedy though, per the UCC, it is best that any nonconformance be immediately conveyed to the seller upon discovery. This allows a seller a reasonable attempt to resolve the problem or become aware of other potential problems. This protects not only the buyer, but also the seller. b. ... This article states that if a buyer rejects tender or delivery due to nonconformance, and if the time for performance has not expired, then the seller has the ability to cure the situation with a shipment of conforming goods. The major stipulation here is if that it is the seller setting the terms for conformance, as they would believe that non conforming goods would be acceptable. The buyer must agree that these goods meet the terms of the contract, one party cannot act unilaterally. It is the right of the buyer under UCC 2 601 to reject the improper ... The evidence from the campaign appears to give a more mixed message. Certainly, a higher percentage of air weapons was guided in this conflict than in any previous war. Strategic intelligence appears to have been less accurate than had been expected. The unexpected initial resistance by Iraqi forces, followed by later surrender, required flexible coalition operations. The vision of the use of chemical and biological weapons proved groundless. The efficiency of special operations will be one area for deeper revision. The media policy will need reviewing for future operations. At this stage, the article does no more than record the sequence of events, make broad judgements about the strategic and tactical approaches of both the Coalition and Iraqi forces, and highlights areas where further investigation may be useful to draw firmer conclusions. 1. • 44. Teachings of the Bible and the Christian Church About... Teachings of the Bible and the Christian Church About Human Responsibility for the World The Bible contains many teachings about our human responsibility towards the created world. It talks about the start of creation in Genesis. Here it is made clear that human beings are made in the image of God so that they can continue his good work. At the outset they are given power over the rest of creation and now if all humans work together to make the world a better place they will be more powerful so it will happen, but even if just a few people are not willing to help then all will fall apart (see poster). Unfortunately, the people most affected are those who are poorer. The greed and pollution of people in the Northern Hemisphere is having a serious impact on global warming and the worst effects f this are experienced not by us in the Northern Hemisphere but by those in the Southern Hemisphere. These people, already living in great poverty, then suffer even greater problems in terms of severe droughts, famines, flooding etc., which leaves them even poorer. The Bible makes it quite clear that in terms of looking after the world, we have a duty not only to look after the environment but also to look after our fellow human beings. Hence the most important teaching, Love thy neighbour as yourself . Jesus made it quite clear in the story he told about the Good Samaritan that our neighbour is anyone and everyone who is in need, even our enemy, irrespective of their race/colour/religion. Another important teaching, called one body many parts, makes it clear that human beings physically make up the body of God here on Earth. We are therefore his hands; his feet etc and therefore we should do what he would do himself if he were physically present. What we should do is look after our neighbour. Furthermore, if just some of us, (one tiny bit of the body) does not do what it is supposed to do then everyone else will be weakened. We must work together in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Kasper Rorsted Essay Abstract How was CEO Kasper Rorsted able to transform an underperforming consumer goods company into a great one? What methods and techniques did he use to help motivate his employees? What is the winning culture all about? Could the agenda that Rorsted put before his company be implemented at other large multinational corporations? I will attempt in this paper to answer these questions and more as I dig into the life of Kasper Rorsted and his transformation of Henkel. When Kasper Rorsted joined Henkel in 2005, it was with the understanding that he would eventually replace current CEO, Ulrich Lehner. The process was a three year journey that would prepare Rorsted to assume the reigns of a floundering consumer goods and cosmetics company. Rorsted was 43 years old at the time and did not have expertise in the fields of chemicals or cosmetics. Henkel s headquarters are in Germany, but Rorsted is not German. As a matter of fact, when Rorsted became CEO of Henkel in 2008 three years after he was hired he became the company s first CEO who was not born in either Germany or its neighboring country of Austria (Simons, 2014). He faces challenges by leaving gaps in his argument. Rituals and belief are left unexplainable, leaving room for the criticism of an insider v. outsider situation. Yet, even with these gaps, he states that religion is simply a byproduct of mental inference system. In the first paper, I proposed how I believe one should classify what religion is, and in this essay, I will break down and examine Boyer s claims as it relates to religious theory and describing v. explaining in order to further understand my suggestion and see if his scientific theories have changed my ideas at all. Smith could see that the outsider could only get into half of his proposal for sure (tradition), and only study the acts of faith not faith itself. In the WPR reenactment, there were constant battles between practitioners being outsiders to other religions. A complete outsider, a scholar, was able to bring almost unanimous unity to the parliament, but at the cost of watering down some of the faiths. In the real WPR, they came to the consensus of no consensus where Richard Seager argues plurality develops in that conclusion. Boyer, on the other hand, believes an outsider will find that quite a lot of what [people] do and think can be observed outside if these groups. He then goes on to say that groups of people have many norms and practices that are specific to that group. Religion can provide (and has provided) terms to create groups, like he is referring to. How can one understand and observe what people, who practice the religion, cannot explain? Restitution Self-Discipline And The Least Coercive Road Within the classroom it is important to set a rapport with the students by acting professionally and regulating our emotions in a way that will facilitate a positive classroom atmosphere. By setting classroom limits firmly, with respect and consistency, it allows us to accept the inevitable ambiguity and uncertainty that arises from allowing students to figure out the problem on their own. Through empathy and sensitivity towards the students, it will serve to strengthen teacher student relationships, as well as the classroom climate and management (Pianta, La Paro, Payne, Cox, Bradley, 2002 as cited in Jennings Greenberg, 2009). Banksy, one of the most notorious (in a good way) artists of the moment, seems to come from a different place than many young street artists. His goal isn t to gain fame, or infamy for that matter, but to awaken the world to the ironic injustices that plague our society and our culture. He s actually gone to extreme measures to keep his true identity unknown to this point, further proving that he s not in it for the fame. His art beautifully depicts the hard truths of our culture in a uniquely contemporary way, and his murals, often placed on public property, are well thought out and planned. This paradoxical feature is indivisible to their relationship and it appears in various incidents, for example, when Isolde receives the ordeal of hot red iron and when Isolde and Tristan lie together in a cave with a sword between them. In Chapter 23, in order to prove her innocence and to end the rumor in the court, Isolde has to accept Bishop s suggestion for an ordeal of hot red iron. She fears her reputation and honor will be ruined at once and she is also troubled by the fact that she needs to come up with a plot to whitewash her falseness (246).
