Opening Statement About Cowboys
Jordon Gutierrez 1/24/18 Life of cowboys Opening statement Now this goes without saying, who hasn
t heard of Cowboys, we ve all seen the movies, and heard about them in history. But believe it or not
there s a lot more to cowboys than grabbing their guns and shooting the bad guy at the end then ride
into the sunset. Cowboys had more interesting roles in their lives and it mostly involved cattle with
their work as it was an easy market at the time. It was hard work, but it pays off! History The most
important thing is the history about cowboys. Believe it or not, they weren t called cowboys at first, or
that it started in America, it all started with the Vaqueros. Between 1519 1700s After the Spanish
arrived in Mexico in 1519, ranches were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

adapted to the vaquero style and made it their own thus evolving into Cowboys. Life of Cowboys
COWBOY LIFE For the Cowboy life, starting out sounds easy but the work to come is the hard part.
Cowboys were mostly young men who needed cash. The average cowboy in the West made about $25
$40 a month, income like that will surely bring out many who want to work. In addition to herding
cattle, they also helped around the ranch as helping hands, treated horses, repaired fences and
buildings, worked cattle drives and in some cases helped establish frontier towns. (history.com 2010)
When they were not working they lived and relaxed on a ranch in a bunkhouse. For entertainment,
some sang songs, played the guitar or harmonica and wrote poetry. (History.org 2010) Cowboys went
by many names in these times like cowpokes, buckaroos, cowhands, etc. The most experienced
cowboy was called the Segundo (Spanish for second ) and rode squarely with the trail boss.

Polonius Father
Fathers in plays, books, movies, etc., are portrayed in many different ways. Authors never make it
obvious as to the motivation behind the actions of the dads. Do they do it to protect their children, or
do they do it to make themselves look better? Shakespeare s Hamlet exemplifies this confusion
through Polonius. Right hand man to the king, and father to Laertes and Ophelia, many of Polonius
actions raise this question, but only one side can be true. Throughout the play, Polonius uses his charm
and wit to control Laertes, Ophelia, and Claudius, in order to preserve his position in court. To start,
Laertes, Polonius son, does not have much control over his own life. However, he gets a chance at
freedom when he proposes to his father and the king that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Act I Scene III, after Laertes leaves on his trip to France, Polonius enquires about the rumors about
her and Young Hamlet. Of course these rumors WERE found out from Polonius spies: spies that
follow Ophelia. Ophelia, in all her innocence, tries to convince her father that Hamlet s actions
resemble the purest intentions of wooing her. Polonius advice says, Do not believe his vows; for they
are brokers, / Not of that dye which their investments show, / ... I would not, in plain terms, from this
time forth, / Have you so slander any moment leisure, / As to give words or talk with Lord Hamlet
(1.3.128 135). Polonius believes that Hamlet s only intentions of getting Ophelia in bed will ruin her.
In the 13th and 14th centuries, a women s chastity WAS a women s all that gave women hope.
Without her virginity, she could not be married to anyone but he who took it. How would that look on
Polonius? Having a daughter that lost her only virtue is sinful, so Polonius does all he can, especially
spying on her, to make sure she does not make a fool out of herself and himself. Polonius control does
not stop at his children, for he holds some power over Claudius as

The Role Of A Social Worker
The role of a social worker involves firstly obtaining a professional qualification at degree level set
out by the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), who sets educational standards and
regulates for social worker training. The social worker is an intricate part of society which supports
and works with vulnerable individuals, families, children and the wider community in order to protect
these individuals from harm, neglect and abuse. Assessment is core to social workers practice. As a
social worker, professional practice entails supporting and evaluating assessments of need and risk
continually, Walker and Beckett (2003). Social workers help individuals, families and communities to
make informed choices and understand their own resourcefulness in order to bring about positive
change to their lives. However, this can involve negotiating both complex and challenging situations.
In some cases the social worker is required to intervene where children are at risk of harm from their
parent or caregiver in a crisis child protection situation, the social worker would be required to present
facts to the courts in order to obtain a child protection order, (Section 47 of the Children s Act 1989).
Ultimately the social worker must attempt to build positive relationships in sometimes adverse
situations with individuals whom may or may not wish to cooperate, however, the social worker must
where possible keep the family together. Assessments are carried out by the social

Civil Rights Movement Essay
The Civil Rights Movement, also known as the American Civil Rights, was a mass movement during
the 1950s and 1960s. It was one of the most intricate social movements of mankind. The Civil Rights
Movement was a period where African Americans did not have the same equal rights or treatment as
the whites. Instead, African Americans were segregated from whites by not going to school together,
having to sit in the back of the bus, not being able to move freely, or not having the right to vote. Over
the past few decades, the Civil Rights Movement has evolved to restructure the equality amongst all
races across the world.

This completed the boycott victory which was one of the first Civil Rights Movement victory. Another
one of Martin Luther King Jr. non violent protest was the Little Rock Nine . The Little Rock Nine was
nine African American students who went to Little Rock Central High school and were treated very
unethically by many of the whites in the school. This gave rise to the Supreme Court s Decision in the
Brown V. Board of Education which later resulted in the desegregation of schools. This was another
one of the Civil Rights Movement that was successful. Back then, Martin Luther King Jr. and his non
violent protest required gathering of people to his reason. During this period, hundreds of thousands of
people marched in front of the Lincoln Memorial, to beg the federal government to support
desegregation. The movement was to reestablish the rights of citizenship guaranteed by the 14th and
15th amendments. The 14th Amendment of the constitution gave blacks equal protection under the
law and the 15th amendment granted blacks the right to vote. During the protest at the Lincoln
Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. gave his, I have a dream speech, which helped change the Civil
Rights Movement. Ultimately, however, the movement changed the nation for the better and improved
lives of millions of Americans. This helped the African Americans to attain assurance in their
capability to form and to effect political change. They increased more pride in their cultural strengths

The Outrageousness of The Battle of Little Bighorn
The Battle of Little Bighorn is considered to be one of the biggest blunders in American military
history. It is also believed to be one of the most unfair decisions made by the military because of the
fact that it was extremely discriminatory to the Native Americans that lived in the region of the Black
Hills in South Dakota. The rights of Native Americans has been an ongoing issue ever since the
pilgrims started making their settlements on Indian land. Indians had finally had enough of the
Americans taking their land and in June of 1876, a bloody battle took place that would never be
forgotten.
Before the battle was even thought of, the Lakota Sioux and the Cheyenne Native Americans were
outraged that the new settlers were starting to violate their sacred lands. They lived in and around the
Black Hills in South Dakota and near Montana. They were native to that land and believed it was their
birthright. They didn t want it for the gold or precious minerals in the mountains. Their ancestors had
lived there in generations before and they wanted their children to live there for generations to
come. The Sioux had signed a treaty with the American government saying that their sacred grounds in
the Black Hills would be respected, which they were, up until gold was found in the area and
American citizens flocked to the sacred lands of the Indians to strike it rich in the Black Hills.
Although the treaty had promised them rights to the lands, the U.S. government ordered the Native

Nutritional Assessment Of Food Intake
Abstract:
The aim of this practical work is to check the usual food intake during a weekday and weekend. Total
nutrient intake distributions and supplement consumption were informed. A group of individuals
selected between 22 37 years of age including both genders, and food diary and 24hr recall method is
used to measure the nutritional intake. Results obtained using SSPS software a statistical significant
difference (P value 0.05) seen between weekend and weekday.
Introduction:
The dietary analysis is a valuable tool to find what people eat, and how much they eat (Millward, DJ
and Jackson, AA. 2003). Nutritional assessment is a comprehensive evaluation to assess food
consumption at a national level, household level and an individual level. This type of technique ranges
from food records to questionnaire and biological markers.
Assessment of both the measure and quality of nutrient intake is a part of assessing the adequacy of a
human diet. The goal is to avoid dietary deficiency in children, pregnant and lactating women, which
helps in planning national food strategies, especially in the food crisis, and as a research purpose to
assess the effect on the nutrition education program by ensuring that the intake meets or exceeds the
need within the body, hence by ensuring equality between measures of such needs and consumption.
Energy and other macro and micronutrients, including fibre are required in correct proportion to the
body to work efficiently, as specific

Compare And Contrast Walt Whitman And I Too Sing America...
How are you known? A last name is what defines them, it tells their past. It tells what they should be
like in relation to ancestors. When the word amerca comes to mind do you consider it part of you?
Walt whitman was a man that was born in New York, he knew what america came from. Whitman
wrote a poem called I Hear America Singing. In this poem he tells of citizens doing their job or daily
duty while singing America. Later on in history a man named Langston Hughes, he was an African
american poet during the Harlem Renissance. This was a time period that allowed Afican Americans
Poetry to be taken seriously. Langston wrote a poem that struck the hearts of all people, it is called I,
Too, Sing Amerca, this poem expands on how hard Africna Americans had it. They had to take care of
everything for their meals, and after all of that they were sent to eat their shares in the kitchen away
from everyone. This poem was thought to be a response to whitmans poem. in these poems that have
some of the same characteristics, one of which is what people do to be an american, another is the
structure or outline of the poem, finally they also explain how proud people are to be an American.
Support 1:
One comparison of the two poems is describing what people do to be an American. Whitman
describes different people and how they show living like an american. One example from his poem is,

Reasons for Devotion to Hindu Goddesses
Reasons for devotion to Hindu goddesses Hinduism portrays feminine divinity in a more exalted way
than most other religions do. Though Hindu goddesses are usually depicted as consorts, wives or
companions to a Hindu god, cases exist in which they are worshipped independently; Tantrism for
example, where it is believed that women posses more spiritual power than men, thus men can achieve
divinity through union with a woman ( Tantrism ). Most villages reinforce the mother aspect of
goddesses and worship them individually as their protector, regarding them as having originated in the
area and thus being tied to the health and prosperity of the village (Caldwell). Others who may devote
themselves to a goddess might be in order to conquer or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kali then proceeds to kill all the asuras in a frenzied manner, later offering the heads of their leaders
Chanda and Munda to Durga. Her second appearance is in the follow chapter, where she battles
Raktabija, and assures success by sucking all of his blood so he could not reproduce anymore, per
Durga s command, while she slayed him ( Devimahatmya ch. 7 8). Another myth ties Kali with
Parvati, telling of an army of demons that threatens the safety of the world. Men cannot slay them, and
so Shiva calls for his wife to aid them in battle. Parvati accepts the responsibility, swallowing the
poison stored in Shiva s throat and morphing into Kali. However, she becomes too drunk with the
poison and, after defeating all the demons, threatens to destroy the world herself with her berserk
dance. In an attempt to subdue his wife, Shiva then lays on the floor in front of Kali, who in her
delirious state does not notice his presence and steps on him. Shamed that she had showed such
disgraceful behavior, she bites her tongue in humiliation. The last scene of the above tale is illustrated
in a lot of imagery, and while the tale itself has a lot of variations, many Hindus will arrive at the same
resolution. It is in this perception that many contradictions lie. Another question rises, What does Kali
s tongue biting really mean? Most Hindus will claim that it is to show shame, which is what the action
means in Bengali culture,

Major Types Of Major Depressive Disorder
Major Depressive Disorder
Major depressive disorder is a mood disorder in which a person experiences low mood, loss of
interest, and diminished self esteem. Symptoms of depression take over every part of a person. It can
hinder emotions, bodily utilities, behaviors, and thoughts. Depression is a common mood disorder and
can affect any age group. Depression occurs when a person experiences a loss of self esteem. Such as
doing badly in a class, the loss of a loved one, or losing a career. Mild symptoms may go unnoticed
and will not affect everyday life. More severe symptoms can become enervating and can last for
extended periods of time. Identification or diagnosis of the disease depends on the harshness and
extent of the symptoms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be diagnosed with major depressive disorder, the person must experience depressed mood or loss
of interest and at least four other indicators for a period of two weeks or more. These symptoms must
be so severe that they interfere with the person s ability to function on a daily basis. In extreme cases,
depression can lead to self harm and suicide. More than 70 percent of individuals diagnosed with
major depressive disorder will correspondingly have an additional psychological disorder at some
point in their lives. The DSM 5 recognizes several different forms that the disorder can manifest as
(subtypes.) These subtypes include depression along with: anxious distress, mixed features,
melancholic features, psychotic features, catatonic features, atypical features, seasonal pattern, and
peripartum onset. (Nolen Hoeksema, 2014) Anxiety is exceedingly common in depression. (Watson,
2009) Mixed features has the presence of at least three symptoms of mania, but do not meet the
criteria for a manic episode. Melancholic features include the inability to experience pleasure and in
which the other physiological symptoms of depression are mainly noticeable. Phsychotic features
include delusions or hallucinations. Catatonic features people have bizarre actions known as catatonia.
These behaviors may include not reacting to their environment or excited agitation. Atypical features
may include positive mood reaction to some events, significant weight gain, or hypersomnia.

Influence of Trisha Brown and Steve Paxton on Modern Dance
The direct relationship in the artistic practices and methodologies of Trisha Brown and Steve Paxton
played a role in facilitating new ways of appreciating and developing movement.
Trisha Brown is considered to be one of the most pivotal choreographers of the 1960 s as her work
and practice shifted away from historically considered appropriate movement for choreography. This
ideology references the modern era of choreographers, moving away from the aesthetics of Martha
Graham and Merce Cunningham who worked with codified techniques, virtuosity and expressionism,
whereas Brown saw dance as being of greater importance to the physical and mental process of the
performer. Born in Aberdeen, Washington and studying dance at Mills College in ... Show more

While working with these companies in New York, Paxton discovered his interest in pushing and
playing with the body s physical potential. Paxton was inspired by the way Brown could manipulate
the physical form, observing the complexity in her form as she played with spills and falls. He found
this intriguing as it contrasted his background with Limon and Cunningham working with codified
vocabularies; something he considered to be a paralysis of the body via technique. Working with
Brown at Judson, Paxton was introduced to the methods of improvisation, using this insight to create
explorations playing with the dynamics and stability of gravity.
The Judson Dance Theatre had a significant influence not only on the direction of Trisha Brown and
Steve Paxton s artistic practice, but also the shift towards postmodernism. From the initial public
display by aspiring choreographers from Robert Dunn s composition class, Judson went on to become
the first avant garde movement in New York since modern dance in the 1940 s. There was an
interdisciplinary flavour produced via collaboration with dance, visual art and music, and significant
lack of grants and funding ensured that the Judson environment was that of willing participation and
exploration. Consequentially, this spurred ideas of innovation and new ways of developing movement
in terms of using inexpensive materials and space, allowing for exploration of performance in non

Contributions Of Louisa May Alcott
Good books, like good friends, are few and chosen; the more select, the more enjoyable Louisa May
Alcott. There are so many novels that have changed American literature because of their authors. One
of which is Louisa May Alcott. Examples of her work consist of Little Women, Hospital Sketches,
Little Men, and so many more. These novels all have their own personal story and genre. Although
Alcott was raised in poverty, she proved to be an incredibly inspiring American author because of her
realism and the variety of her writing. May Alcott was a passionate, driven lady that was born in
Germantown, Pennsylvania, on November 29th, 1832. Her family and friends consisted of, Henry
David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Theodore Parker (Louisa 1). These wise, educated men
were Alcott s mentors growing up. She looked up to them for their knowledge of academics. She,
herself, was educated by her father, Amos Alcott until 1848 (Louisa 1). She got some of her
inspiration for her writing growing up. Some influences of her writing came from being ...a nurse
during the Civil War (Kellman 39). This tramatic experience gave her audience a unique perspective
and it also helped the story seem sensible. Her audience felt like they were actually at war because of
her talent in writing literature. Also, her experiences with poverty provided not only content and
substance of much of her later writing.. (Kellman 40). These experiences shaped and molded her

A Study On Dual Immersion Program
Summary 11
This article written by Potowoski was grounded on a study involving High school graduates whom
had completed a dual immersion program. A dual immersion program might have different names that
people refer to them as. I have heard such names as two way immersion or, even two way bilingual
immersion. They are the same program. They include native English speaking students and native
speakers of a foreign language. The goals of dual immersion programs are to develop bilingualism,
academic achievement, and of course cross cultural competencies in both languages .This study
analyzes their proficiency in reading writing and speaking, and also it observes their capability of

How accurate are these dual immersion graduates in the production of three specific verb forms the

immersion students capable of producing and recognizing socio linguistically appropriate Spanish?
The setting of the study was an Inter American magnet school was one of the oldest dual immersion
schools in the US. It populates about 640 students ranging from pre k to 8th grade. There were 52
participants. 30 of them were heritage speakers and age they began learning English was :(9 of them

second language and ages they began were (6 since preschool, 8 in kinder or first, 3 in 3rd or 4th

study. The measures were focused on dual immersion students overall written, reading, and oral
abilities. Two measures were used to test students oral Spanish. One was the Spanish Language

Versailles Treaty Dbq
How did the Versailles Treaty help cause WWII? The Versailles Treaty was created in order to prevent
any further wars from happening such as the calamity that was WWI, however could it be the very
reason the Germans felt they needed to strike back at their enemies and cause an even greater calamity
than the first World War known as WWII? After the first world war, the Versailles Treaty was created
by the nations that won the first world war. Although it was majorly created by the delegates of the 3
biggest powers: Premier George Clemenceau of France, Prime Minister David Prime Lloyd of Britain,
and President Woodrow Wilson of the U.S. It consisted of terms that Germany had to abide by after

Document A discusses this by showing a map of what the geography of Germany had been after the
Versailles Treaty terms, with Alsace and Lorraine, their main production of coal, now in possession of
France. To put it another way, the process of Germany being stripped of some its land through the
Versailles Treaty s terms had provided an opportunity for the Germans to initiate war in order to regain
their land and resources back, along with power. However, this is not the only instance of this, another
document validates that the Versailles Treaty had helped cause WWII through its unjust terms. That
document would be the famous book created by Adolf Hitler himself, Mein Kampf . In this segment of
the book, it can be paraphrased that Hitler feels Germany is naive for believing that the Versailles
Treaty will solve the conflicts between all of Europe, instead he recommends that Germany goes to
war in order to destroy the unjust terms that oppress them because the restoration of Germany can
only be achieved through blood. In other words, Hitler is saying that Germany needs to fight in order
to rid themselves of the restrictions imposed by the Versailles Treaty because any peaceful means are
flawed. Consequently, it can be inferred that because of the Versailles Treaty, it allowed Hitler to
persuade Germany to fight to made the restrictions of the Versailles Treaty void all the more easy and
because of this Germany becomes more of a threat thus making the nations ally and fight creating

The Ethics Of Amateur Sports
Amateur sports at the collegiate level are intended to provide young men and women the opportunity
to participate in sporting activities at which they excel while receiving an education that will serve as a
springboard for a future career. The soft skills of team building, sportsmanship, self discipline, and
dedication are often considered to be highly valued and sought after by employers. The camaraderie
and bonding among student athletes is invaluable and unique to this experience. Unfortunately, the
sanctity of collegiate athletics has been tainted by the unethical behavior of the very people purported
to have the best interests of the student athlete at heart. Despite having rules in place against academic
dishonesty, inconsistencies in enforcement of sanctions do little to curb the practice. Penalties for
misconduct will need to be severe and consistent for every institution that is part of the National
Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for the rampant academic fraud to become the exception to
the rule rather than the norm.
The single greatest incentive for academic dishonesty to occur in regard to college athletics is money.
College sports generate millions of dollars each year. In 2011 12, the NCAA reportedly received $705
million in revenue generated by television broadcasts ( Revenue, 2012). All but about 4% goes
directly back to the schools for their athletic departments. This allows for improvements to stadiums,

Most people can say that one of the most important things in life is happiness. Happiness is key to a
worthy life. When you are happy, you go about your day much better than if you are sad or angry.
Happiness occurs internally but external factors such as music can always help. Music is responsible
for extracting certain emotions, such as happiness, in any listener. I chose to call my playlist It s Going
to Be a Good Day because everyone needs a playlist to start off their day right by listening to songs
that instigate happiness. I chose this theme because personally I believe that happiness is very

Snowball Short Story
One day, in 4th grade during winter time, me and my friends were playing in the snow. Me and my
friends were athletic, so we spent a lot of time outside. The air was biting at our noses, and snowmen
with orange noses and piles of snowballs behind snow walls littered the area. Snowballs zoomed
across the yard, occasionally decapitating a snowman, or exploding on someone s jacket. I threw my
hardest snowball, aimed directly for someone s back. As he reached down to get another snowball, the
snowball kept going. My snowball had shattered a window. Everyone quickly dispersed and ran to the
end of the street, and met up. I was nervous and embarrassed. You almost hit me with that! My friend

retorted. Nobody s gonna find out. I repeated. After a day or two, my parents had heard that our
neighbor s window had broken. They asked me if I had heard anything about it, but I simply said no.
When I got to school, my friends continued to urge me to confess, but I would not budge. Another
couple of days passed, and me and my friends were hanging out again. This time our parents were
there and seemed angry. They knew where we were when the window broke, and so they knew one of
us had broken it, but they didn t know who. Everyone glanced at me, but I still did not talk. This went

Physical Therapy Case Study
Barely 30 years old, Mark, a rising Orange County management professional, has become an expert
on recovering from hip surgery as he completes his third and hopefully final rehabilitation program
following his latest arthroscopic procedure for a hip impingement.
Unfortunately for this life long hockey player his extremely athletic lifestyle that includes working
out, weight training and running marathons, took a toll on his abnormally shaped hip bones resulting
in labrum tears of the cartilage and hip impingements that required surgical repair.
His first surgery, on his right hip, in 2007, was done with an open procedure included three rods with
screws and required a three day hospital stay and six months of recovery time.
In Sept. 2013, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two days after a 17 mile run, he was stopped in his tracks with pain and weakness in the right hip.
I couldn t believe it, he said. My left hip was great and then out of no where I couldn t even run one
half mile.
In April 2015, he was back in the operating room to repair the initial hip and shortly thereafter back
with Jennifer.
Even though this third procedure repaired the initial surgery, the irony is my rehab this time, has
actually been the easiest, Mark said. Obviously, I knew what to expect, but all of the work I put into
the last rehab, and the strengthening exercises I did for my hamstrings and lower body, has made it
nearly flawless. It is still going to take three or four months until I m fully recovered. Through this
process, I have learned the importance of not pushing it and to rest. For an active person, that is not
always easy to do, but in the end makes all the difference.
Within two weeks of the third surgery, Mark was off crutches, able to drive, and back to work. Jen add
something maybe about when he could do weight bearing exercises or a few other

The Role Of Child Trafficking In Hollywood
The topic of child abuse and child trafficking is one of the hardest to discuss and talk about but needs
to be given the proper attention that is deserves. as of recent, pedohile groups involved are slowly
being exposed by military members by a group called Veterans for Child Rescue led by an ex Navy
Seal Craig Sawyer. One area where the epidemic of child abuse is well known for is Hollywood,
specifically hollywood stars such as Elijah Wood and Corey Feldman have come out in public to
speak out against it and how it affects the culture of Hollywood. One case that I never really paid
attention to when it was considered current events was the Trial of Michael Jackson (People of the
State of California vs Jackson (2005)). The case was about

How Did The Jamestown Colonies Lead To The Failure Of The...
Adventure, promises of wealth, and an opportunity to a new life were some of the many reasons which
attracted settlers to the Americas. However, what the new settlers did not know were the many
challenges and tragedies this new life entailed. Despite all, the colonists of Jamestown would
encounter the difficulties of starting a new colony in a foreign new land. The life these settlers found
was nothing like they expected. Their hopes for wealth and a new beginning were soon replaced with
death and misery. The colonies of the Americas can be seen as a failure because European settlers
would come to experience the horrors that the New World would give them including famine and
diseases.
Before even being constructed, colonies had already been set for failure as many colonists did not
properly prepare for the journey. Many did not have enough supplies to sustain a stable colony and
prevent its people from starving. In a letter that Richard Frethorne wrote to his parents he portrays the
poor nourishment settlers received when he says ...for since I came out of the ship I never ate anything
but peas, and loblollie. Lack of agricultural, geographical, and survival knowledge and the fact of
being in a new land prevented settlers from successfully growing crops and maintaining a steady food
supply to their colonies. Jamestown, was a settlement which was greatly impacted by the failure of
gathering food for its settlers. The colonists of Jamestown were mainly dying off of famine

Soviet Imperialism And The Soviet Union
The United States and the Soviet Union operated as associates and fought against the Nazi regime
during World War II, however, the merger did not last long and ultimately became the Cold War.
Americans had for some time been careful about Soviet socialism and worried about Russian pioneer
Joseph Stalin s overbearing, ruthless guideline of his own nation. As far as concerns them, the Soviets
loathed the Americans decades long refusal to regard the USSR as a real part of the universal group
and also their postponed section into World War II, which brought about the passing of a huge number
of Russians. After the war ended, these grievances aged into a staggering feeling of shared doubt and
animosity. After the war, Soviet expansionism in Eastern Europe drove numerous Americans fears of a
Russian arrangement to control the world. In the meantime, the USSR came to disdain what they saw
as American authorities pugnacious talk, arms development and the interventionist way to deal with
global relations. In such an unfriendly air, no single gathering was total to fault for the Cold War; truth
be told, a few history specialists trust it was unavoidable (History.com, 2009)
When the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, president George H. W. Bush through his secretary of state
James Baker promised Soviet premier Mikhail Gorbachev that in exchange for Soviet cooperation on
German reunification, the Cold War era NATO union would not increase one inch . Baker stated,

Growing Threat of Computer Crimes
Running head: THE GROWING THREAT OF COMPUTER CRIME The Growing Threat of
Computer Crime Diana Ritter Baker College of Cadillac May 9, 2001 Abstract Computers have been
used for most kinds of crime, including fraud, theft, larceny, embezzlement, burglary, sabotage,
espionage, murder, and forgery, since the first cases were reported in 1958. One study of 1,500
computer crimes established that most of them were committed by trusted computer users within
businesses; persons with the requisite skills, knowledge, access, and resources. With the arrival of
personal computers to manipulate information and access computers by telephone, increasing numbers

Convicted computer hacker, John Lee, a founder of the infamous Master s of Deception hacker group
stated that he could change credit card records and bank balances, get free limousines, airplane tickets,
and hotel rooms (without anyone being billed), change utility and rent rates, distribute computer
software programs free to all over the internet, and easily obtain insider trading information.
Imagine.........this is just one person. Think of all the hundreds of hackers that are out there. Computer
stalking. One type of computer criminal rapidly emerging is the cyber stalker . One such stalker, the
pedophile, surfs the net looking to build relationships with young boys or girls and then sets out to
meet them in person to pursue his/her sexual intensions. This type of activity also leads to sellers of
child pornography over the internet. Virtual crimes. Stock and bond fraud is already appearing on the
internet. Stocks and bonds that appear on the market are actively traded (for a short period of time)
and then disappear. These stocks and bonds are nonexistent only the electronic impulses are read. One
must note, however, no matter how clever the hacker, the most serious security threat in most
enterprises is password theft. Password stealing is the holy grail of hacking. Once a
username/password combination has been found, the hacker has free rein to exploit that user account.

The Myths Of Mermaids
Water calming to listen to, cooling to go in on a hot summers day, but what lies beneath the surface?
The world has many myths from mermaids to sea monsters, but could any of these be true? In 1493
Christopher Columbus claimed he had seen a mermaid that was really a manatee or someone
mistaking a giant octopus when really . Maybe I could prove that all of this is true with a story I heard
a few years ago from a fisherman who learned about this while he lived in Norway. The story goes, in
a small town in Norway called Larvik in 1770 a young girl had the most beautiful voice. She became
vain from the beauty of her voice. One day an old woman knocked on her door. The old woman asked
for some food because she had no money to buy it with. The young

Alpha Program Research Paper
The Revamping of the Alpha Program
As a happy and loyal member of Lifetime Fitness, I want what is best for the club and its future in
Centennial, Denver. For the most part, Lifetime Fitness has a section for almost every class it has. For
yoga, they have a yoga studio. For a cycle class, they have the cycle studio. But for the Alpha
program, they do not have a section. The Alpha program is a functional, multi joint movement based
workout that requires pull up bars, barbells, rings, ropes, and plenty of room to do these activities.
Right now, there is an Alpha program but nowhere to do it. The place where they are currently
conducting the Alpha program is upstairs where everyone else is working out. There is not a specific
location. Not to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But as I previously stated, since Lifetime Fitness has room for all of its programs and classes currently
it has nowhere else to put the Alpha program. Not only that but racquet ball is currently free for all
members and the Alpha program is not. The repercussions of losing the last two racquet ball courts
might be losing a couple members. But you will gain more revenue from the members that will pay to
be a part of the Alpha program. On top of that functional fitness such as CrossFit and the Alpha
program are the fastest growing fitness trends at the moment: if Lifetime Fitness does not get on this
bus now, they might be left in the dust.
By moving the Alpha program to the last two racquet ball courts Lifetime Fitness has everything to
gain. It will take the current problems with the program and terminate all of them. It will give the right
amount space and the proper equipment for the members and the coaches to excel. Plus, I have seen
this work first hand in Japan. This will help bring awareness to the program, which in return will gain
the program more members. The downside is that it will take away from the racquet ball players but
what you lose there you will gain in revenue from the new and improved Alpha

Manifest Destiny and Race
Laurence Mandin Professor Charles Turner M.A. J.D. History 18 25 March 2011 Midterm Question
#1 part 2: What impact did the English view of race have on American society? (Worth 50 points)
note: I felt it was more logical for my purposes to place part 2 first. The English view of race
developed directly from their perceptions of themselves, from the ideas of their own racial origins,
their own ethnocentricity. This perception became a concept that had its roots in 16th and 17th
Century England. It involved their ancestry to the peoples of England prior to the Norman Conquest of
1066, and further back to the Nordic and Germanic peoples of ancient, continental Europe. It didn t
start here; their Caucasian ancestry was believed to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This vanguard of chosen people would see their noble sentiments of self government tainted by a
legacy of racial superiority that would contribute to the near extinction of Native Americans, the brutal
subjugation of African peoples, and a history of racial bigotry and strife. These entrenched racial
attitudes would reach a pinnacle in the first half of 19th Century America (Horsman intro),
culminating in the Civil War of 1861: one of the bloodiest wars in world history it left 600,000
Americans dead, white and black. That catastrophic conflict ended 150 years ago and we still have not
seen the end of the terrible manifestation of Anglo American racism. Midterm Question #1 part 1:
Race and ethnicity have played major roles in American social history. How do these constructs relate
to an explanation of what it means to be an American? The description of Africa as the dark
mysterious continent is a description that can also be applied to her continental sisters sharing similar
latitudes in the Western Hemisphere, the areas now known as Latin America. These continents, as well
as large parts of vast Asia, seem to be areas of the earth where many dark complected peoples reside.
Ironically these areas of mystery and darkness receive the most light from our sun, causing the
evolution of a protective coloring in the outer covering of the human body. Without

The Use Of Hack Into A Single Or Networked Computer
There are thousands of ways to hack into a single or networked computer. All hacker does not have a
notorious reason for trying to access a network. Many hackers are paid by a company to find its
network vulnerabilities. These hackers are known as white hackers or pen testers. The most popular
way to hack into a computer is with a certain attack named brute force.
The brute force attack is one of the most popular cracking methods., it is not just for password
cracking. Brute force attacks can also be used to discover hidden pages and content in a web
application. This attack is basically hit and miss until you succeed. This attack sometimes takes longer,
but its success rate is higher.
The success of the attack depends on various factors. Factors that affect most are password length and
combination of characters, letters and special characters. It does not make brute force impossible but it
makes brute force difficult. It will take a longer time to reach the password by brute forcing. Almost
all hash cracking algorithms use the brute force to hit and try. This attack is best when you have
offline access to data.
Brute force password cracking is also very important in computer security. It is used to check the
weak passwords used in the system, network or application. Brute force attack when an attacker uses a
set of predefined values to attack a target and analyze the response until he succeeds. Success depends
on the set of predefined values. If it is larger, it will

The Legacy Of Hip Hop And Rap, And Its Release Changed The...
The son of a professor raised in a middle class suburb, Kanye West was never supposed
to be a rapper. West was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8th
divorced when he was three, he moved with his mother to Chicago. His mom worked as the
chair of the English Department at the nearby Chicago State University, and Kanye grew up in
relative comfort in a nicer suburb of Chicago. West became fascinated with music at a young
age, eventually leading him to drop out of college to pursue it full time. His first two albums,
The College Dropout and Late Registration established himself as a premier player in the rap
game, as well as paved the way for his third album, Graduation. Released in September of 2007,
Graduation was very well received by critics and the general public alike, but its importance
goes much further than simply sounding appealing. Graduation epitomizes the changing
landscape of hip hop and rap, and its release changed the rap industry into what it is today.
In the fall of 2002, Kanye West suffered a near fatal car crash that would change his life
forever. The crash left him with a shattered jaw that need to be wired shut, and a whole new
perspective to work from. Prior to this, West had been trying for years to secure a rap contract,
but labels refused to give him a chance. He had rose to prominence as a beat maker, particularly
through his work on Jay Z s most iconic album, The Blueprint, but many in the music industry
did not believe he

Friendship In On The Road
A Warped Representation of Friendship
In On the Road, Sal and Dean have developed a friendship that not only reflects themes in the classic
but, pop culture as well. Two men travel all over and share their experiences amongst each other. All
throughout the novel, we as readers, discover that their unique bond transcends the normal version of
friendship. Becoming brothers and ultimately comrades. A sense of madness develops in Sal in the
end. Dean is ultimately the role model for Sal but, we see that Sal thinks otherwise towards the end of
the novel. Their travels bond them together in a way that ordinary friendships rarely do.
Kerouac describes a Beat culture; in On the Road; friendship plays a role in this. Only when Sal is

Not only do Dean s motivations and passions seem to appeal to Sal, Dean shows off a sense of being
young and a natural man . While it seems like nearly everyone else in the novel considers Dean to be
irresponsible, Sal assumes that Dean s erratic behavior proves that he is on a whole different level of
living. In the beginning of the novel, we learn that Dean was involved in sketchy ordeals. He was
arrested for stealing cars in Denver. Instead of looking down on Dean for his actions, Sal instead
believes his actions are just an attempt at searching for pure joy or raw happiness. While I viewed
Dean s behavior otherwise from a negative perspective, Kerouac merely suggests that Dean s actions
are only the result of his quest for happiness. In addition to this, Dean s behavior is portrayed
sympathetically and is not responsible for what the world may see as irresponsible. Seeking out such
behavior is the only way that Sal and Dean see it, to finding the true meaning of life, also known as, It
.
As Sal analyzes Dean as prominently a hero, we as the audience, notice that Dean is incredibly
flawed. He often tends to abandon those who love him and feel absolutely no remorse whatsoever at
his poor judgement. His untimely actions prove that he is nowhere close to a hero. In my opinion, a
main part of the reason for why we seem to hate Dean is because we feel sorry for him. His
obliviousness of being a mess, makes him even more

How Spirometry Affects The Lungs
There are two main categories of diseases that can affect the lungs, which are obstructive diseases and
restrictive diseases. These lung diseases can have detrimental effects on the lung because they can
result in decreased airway size, swollen or loss of alveolar sacs, and ultimately reduced gas exchange.
Lung diseases, as well as the overall function of the lung can be evaluated using a method known as
spirometry. Spirometry is a tool used to evaluate the breathing mechanisms of a patient and allow
doctors to detect pulmonary diseases in patients displaying abnormal lung function. Spirometry can
consist of static and dynamic tests to measure variables such as vital capacity, which is the highest
volume of air that can be exhaled out of the

But believe it or not there s a lot more to cowboys than grabbing their guns and shooting the bad guy at the end then ride into the sunset. Cowboys had more interesting roles in their lives and it mostly involved cattle with their work as it was an easy market at the time. It was hard work, but it pays off! History The most important thing is the history about cowboys. Believe it or not, they weren t called cowboys at first, or that it started in America, it all started with the Vaqueros. • 3. Polonius Father Fathers in plays, books, movies, etc., are portrayed in many different ways. Authors never make it obvious as to the motivation behind the actions of the dads. Do they do it to protect their children, or do they do it to make themselves look better? Shakespeare s Hamlet exemplifies this confusion through Polonius. Right hand man to the king, and father to Laertes and Ophelia, many of Polonius actions raise this question, but only one side can be true. Throughout the play, Polonius uses his charm and wit to control Laertes, Ophelia, and Claudius, in order to preserve his position in court. To start, Laertes, Polonius son, does not have much control over his own life. However, he gets a chance at freedom when he proposes to his father and the king that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Act I Scene III, after Laertes leaves on his trip to France, Polonius enquires about the rumors about her and Young Hamlet. Of course these rumors WERE found out from Polonius spies: spies that follow Ophelia. Ophelia, in all her innocence, tries to convince her father that Hamlet s actions resemble the purest intentions of wooing her. Polonius advice says, Do not believe his vows; for they are brokers, / Not of that dye which their investments show, / ... I would not, in plain terms, from this time forth, / Have you so slander any moment leisure, / As to give words or talk with Lord Hamlet (1.3.128 135). Polonius believes that Hamlet s only intentions of getting Ophelia in bed will ruin her. In the 13th and 14th centuries, a women s chastity WAS a women s all that gave women hope. Without her virginity, she could not be married to anyone but he who took it. How would that look on Polonius? Having a daughter that lost her only virtue is sinful, so Polonius does all he can, especially spying on her, to make sure she does not make a fool out of herself and himself. • 4. The Role Of A Social Worker The role of a social worker involves firstly obtaining a professional qualification at degree level set out by the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC), who sets educational standards and regulates for social worker training. The social worker is an intricate part of society which supports and works with vulnerable individuals, families, children and the wider community in order to protect these individuals from harm, neglect and abuse. Assessment is core to social workers practice. As a social worker, professional practice entails supporting and evaluating assessments of need and risk continually, Walker and Beckett (2003). Social workers help individuals, families and communities to make informed choices and understand their own resourcefulness in order to bring about positive change to their lives. However, this can involve negotiating both complex and challenging situations. In some cases the social worker is required to intervene where children are at risk of harm from their parent or caregiver in a crisis child protection situation, the social worker would be required to present facts to the courts in order to obtain a child protection order, (Section 47 of the Children s Act 1989). Ultimately the social worker must attempt to build positive relationships in sometimes adverse situations with individuals whom may or may not wish to cooperate, however, the social worker must where possible keep the family together. It was one of the most intricate social movements of mankind. The Civil Rights Movement was a period where African Americans did not have the same equal rights or treatment as the whites. Instead, African Americans were segregated from whites by not going to school together, having to sit in the back of the bus, not being able to move freely, or not having the right to vote. During the protest at the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. gave his, I have a dream speech, which helped change the Civil Rights Movement. • 7. The Outrageousness of The Battle of Little Bighorn The Battle of Little Bighorn is considered to be one of the biggest blunders in American military history. It is also believed to be one of the most unfair decisions made by the military because of the fact that it was extremely discriminatory to the Native Americans that lived in the region of the Black Hills in South Dakota. The rights of Native Americans has been an ongoing issue ever since the pilgrims started making their settlements on Indian land. Indians had finally had enough of the Americans taking their land and in June of 1876, a bloody battle took place that would never be forgotten. Before the battle was even thought of, the Lakota Sioux and the Cheyenne Native Americans were outraged that the new settlers were starting to violate their sacred lands. They lived in and around the Black Hills in South Dakota and near Montana. They were native to that land and believed it was their birthright. They didn t want it for the gold or precious minerals in the mountains. Their ancestors had lived there in generations before and they wanted their children to live there for generations to come. The Sioux had signed a treaty with the American government saying that their sacred grounds in the Black Hills would be respected, which they were, up until gold was found in the area and American citizens flocked to the sacred lands of the Indians to strike it rich in the Black Hills. • 10. Reasons for Devotion to Hindu Goddesses Reasons for devotion to Hindu goddesses Hinduism portrays feminine divinity in a more exalted way than most other religions do. Though Hindu goddesses are usually depicted as consorts, wives or companions to a Hindu god, cases exist in which they are worshipped independently; Tantrism for example, where it is believed that women posses more spiritual power than men, thus men can achieve divinity through union with a woman ( Tantrism ). Most villages reinforce the mother aspect of goddesses and worship them individually as their protector, regarding them as having originated in the area and thus being tied to the health and prosperity of the village (Caldwell). Kali then proceeds to kill all the asuras in a frenzied manner, later offering the heads of their leaders Chanda and Munda to Durga. Her second appearance is in the follow chapter, where she battles Raktabija, and assures success by sucking all of his blood so he could not reproduce anymore, per Durga s command, while she slayed him ( Devimahatmya ch. 7 8). Another myth ties Kali with Parvati, telling of an army of demons that threatens the safety of the world. Men cannot slay them, and so Shiva calls for his wife to aid them in battle. Parvati accepts the responsibility, swallowing the poison stored in Shiva s throat and morphing into Kali. However, she becomes too drunk with the poison and, after defeating all the demons, threatens to destroy the world herself with her berserk dance. In an attempt to subdue his wife, Shiva then lays on the floor in front of Kali, who in her delirious state does not notice his presence and steps on him. Shamed that she had showed such disgraceful behavior, she bites her tongue in humiliation. The last scene of the above tale is illustrated in a lot of imagery, and while the tale itself has a lot of variations, many Hindus will arrive at the same resolution. It is in this perception that many contradictions lie. Another question rises, What does Kali s tongue biting really mean? Most Hindus will claim that it is to show shame, which is what the action means in Bengali culture, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Influence of Trisha Brown and Steve Paxton on Modern Dance The direct relationship in the artistic practices and methodologies of Trisha Brown and Steve Paxton played a role in facilitating new ways of appreciating and developing movement. Trisha Brown is considered to be one of the most pivotal choreographers of the 1960 s as her work and practice shifted away from historically considered appropriate movement for choreography. This ideology references the modern era of choreographers, moving away from the aesthetics of Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham who worked with codified techniques, virtuosity and expressionism, whereas Brown saw dance as being of greater importance to the physical and mental process of the performer. Born in Aberdeen, Washington and studying dance at Mills College in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While working with these companies in New York, Paxton discovered his interest in pushing and playing with the body s physical potential. Paxton was inspired by the way Brown could manipulate the physical form, observing the complexity in her form as she played with spills and falls. He found this intriguing as it contrasted his background with Limon and Cunningham working with codified vocabularies; something he considered to be a paralysis of the body via technique. Working with Brown at Judson, Paxton was introduced to the methods of improvisation, using this insight to create explorations playing with the dynamics and stability of gravity. The Judson Dance Theatre had a significant influence not only on the direction of Trisha Brown and Steve Paxton s artistic practice, but also the shift towards postmodernism. From the initial public display by aspiring choreographers from Robert Dunn s composition class, Judson went on to become the first avant garde movement in New York since modern dance in the 1940 s. There was an interdisciplinary flavour produced via collaboration with dance, visual art and music, and significant lack of grants and funding ensured that the Judson environment was that of willing participation and exploration. Consequentially, this spurred ideas of innovation and new ways of developing movement in terms of using inexpensive materials and space, allowing for exploration of performance in non conventional ... There are so many novels that have changed American literature because of their authors. One of which is Louisa May Alcott. Examples of her work consist of Little Women, Hospital Sketches, Little Men, and so many more. These novels all have their own personal story and genre. Although Alcott was raised in poverty, she proved to be an incredibly inspiring American author because of her realism and the variety of her writing. May Alcott was a passionate, driven lady that was born in Germantown, Pennsylvania, on November 29th, 1832. Her family and friends consisted of, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Theodore Parker (Louisa 1). These wise, educated men were Alcott s mentors growing up. She looked up to them for their knowledge of academics. She, herself, was educated by her father, Amos Alcott until 1848 (Louisa 1). She got some of her inspiration for her writing growing up. Some influences of her writing came from being ...a nurse during the Civil War (Kellman 39). This tramatic experience gave her audience a unique perspective and it also helped the story seem sensible. Her audience felt like they were actually at war because of her talent in writing literature. Also, her experiences with poverty provided not only content and substance of much of her later writing.. The Versailles Treaty was created in order to prevent any further wars from happening such as the calamity that was WWI, however could it be the very reason the Germans felt they needed to strike back at their enemies and cause an even greater calamity than the first World War known as WWII? After the first world war, the Versailles Treaty was created by the nations that won the first world war. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Document A discusses this by showing a map of what the geography of Germany had been after the Versailles Treaty terms, with Alsace and Lorraine, their main production of coal, now in possession of France. To put it another way, the process of Germany being stripped of some its land through the Versailles Treaty s terms had provided an opportunity for the Germans to initiate war in order to regain their land and resources back, along with power. However, this is not the only instance of this, another document validates that the Versailles Treaty had helped cause WWII through its unjust terms. That document would be the famous book created by Adolf Hitler himself, Mein Kampf . In this segment of the book, it can be paraphrased that Hitler feels Germany is naive for believing that the Versailles Treaty will solve the conflicts between all of Europe, instead he recommends that Germany goes to war in order to destroy the unjust terms that oppress them because the restoration of Germany can only be achieved through blood. In other words, Hitler is saying that Germany needs to fight in order to rid themselves of the restrictions imposed by the Versailles Treaty because any peaceful means are flawed. Consequently, it can be inferred that because of the Versailles Treaty, it allowed Hitler to persuade Germany to fight to made the restrictions of the Versailles Treaty void all the more easy and because of this Germany becomes more of a threat thus making the nations ally and fight creating ... After Dutchy leaves to start his training, Vivian returns to not acknowledging her feelings as much as she should. Instead she s more involved in Dutchy s feelings and well being than her own. Mirror sites likewise expand the pace with which files or websites can be gotten to, clients can download documents all the more rapidly from a server that is topographically closer to them. For instance, if an occupied New York based Web webpage sets up a mirror website in England, clients in Europe can get to the mirror website quicker than the original site in New York. Sites, for example, Netscape that offer duplicates or upgrades of famous programming regularly set up mirror sites to handle the expansive request that a solitary site will most likely be unable to handle. A huge number of people download file in the Server/Client model. The single most issue for productive exchange is that servers typically have some control over the clients, for example, limiting the permitted data transfer capacity for one IP addresses. However for a user that needs an extensive data transfer capacity and ensured association, it can be an issue. The Ethics Of Amateur Sports Amateur sports at the collegiate level are intended to provide young men and women the opportunity to participate in sporting activities at which they excel while receiving an education that will serve as a springboard for a future career. The soft skills of team building, sportsmanship, self discipline, and dedication are often considered to be highly valued and sought after by employers. The camaraderie and bonding among student athletes is invaluable and unique to this experience. Unfortunately, the sanctity of collegiate athletics has been tainted by the unethical behavior of the very people purported to have the best interests of the student athlete at heart. Despite having rules in place against academic dishonesty, inconsistencies in enforcement of sanctions do little to curb the practice. Penalties for misconduct will need to be severe and consistent for every institution that is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for the rampant academic fraud to become the exception to the rule rather than the norm. The single greatest incentive for academic dishonesty to occur in regard to college athletics is money. College sports generate millions of dollars each year. • 20. Snowball Short Story One day, in 4th grade during winter time, me and my friends were playing in the snow. Me and my friends were athletic, so we spent a lot of time outside. The air was biting at our noses, and snowmen with orange noses and piles of snowballs behind snow walls littered the area. Snowballs zoomed across the yard, occasionally decapitating a snowman, or exploding on someone s jacket. I threw my hardest snowball, aimed directly for someone s back. As he reached down to get another snowball, the snowball kept going. My snowball had shattered a window. Everyone quickly dispersed and ran to the end of the street, and met up. I was nervous and embarrassed. You almost hit me with that! My friend exclaimed. I m sorry, but please don t say anything, I pleaded, The snowball will melt, and our parents won t know what happened. This isn t gonna work, you re going to get us in trouble. My friend retorted. Nobody s gonna find out. I repeated. After a day or two, my parents had heard that our neighbor s window had broken. They asked me if I had heard anything about it, but I simply said no. When I got to school, my friends continued to urge me to confess, but I would not budge. Another couple of days passed, and me and my friends were hanging out again. This time our parents were there and seemed angry. • 23. How Did The Jamestown Colonies Lead To The Failure Of The... Adventure, promises of wealth, and an opportunity to a new life were some of the many reasons which attracted settlers to the Americas. However, what the new settlers did not know were the many challenges and tragedies this new life entailed. Despite all, the colonists of Jamestown would encounter the difficulties of starting a new colony in a foreign new land. The life these settlers found was nothing like they expected. Their hopes for wealth and a new beginning were soon replaced with death and misery. The colonies of the Americas can be seen as a failure because European settlers would come to experience the horrors that the New World would give them including famine and diseases. Before even being constructed, colonies had already been set for failure as many colonists did not properly prepare for the journey. Many did not have enough supplies to sustain a stable colony and prevent its people from starving. In a letter that Richard Frethorne wrote to his parents he portrays the poor nourishment settlers received when he says ...for since I came out of the ship I never ate anything but peas, and loblollie. Lack of agricultural, geographical, and survival knowledge and the fact of being in a new land prevented settlers from successfully growing crops and maintaining a steady food supply to their colonies. • 24. Soviet Imperialism And The Soviet Union The United States and the Soviet Union operated as associates and fought against the Nazi regime during World War II, however, the merger did not last long and ultimately became the Cold War. Americans had for some time been careful about Soviet socialism and worried about Russian pioneer Joseph Stalin s overbearing, ruthless guideline of his own nation. As far as concerns them, the Soviets loathed the Americans decades long refusal to regard the USSR as a real part of the universal group and also their postponed section into World War II, which brought about the passing of a huge number of Russians. After the war ended, these grievances aged into a staggering feeling of shared doubt and animosity. After the war, Soviet expansionism in Eastern Europe drove numerous Americans fears of a Russian arrangement to control the world. In the meantime, the USSR came to disdain what they saw as American authorities pugnacious talk, arms development and the interventionist way to deal with global relations. In such an unfriendly air, no single gathering was total to fault for the Cold War; truth be told, a few history specialists trust it was unavoidable (History.com, 2009) When the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, president George H. The brute force attack is one of the most popular cracking methods., it is not just for password cracking. Brute force attacks can also be used to discover hidden pages and content in a web application. This attack is basically hit and miss until you succeed. This attack sometimes takes longer, but its success rate is higher. The success of the attack depends on various factors. Factors that affect most are password length and combination of characters, letters and special characters. It does not make brute force impossible but it makes brute force difficult. It will take a longer time to reach the password by brute forcing. Almost all hash cracking algorithms use the brute force to hit and try. This attack is best when you have offline access to data. His mom worked as the chair of the English Department at the nearby Chicago State University, and Kanye grew up in relative comfort in a nicer suburb of Chicago. In the beginning of the novel, we learn that Dean was involved in sketchy ordeals. He was arrested for stealing cars in Denver. Instead of looking down on Dean for his actions, Sal instead believes his actions are just an attempt at searching for pure joy or raw happiness. While I viewed Dean s behavior otherwise from a negative perspective, Kerouac merely suggests that Dean s actions are only the result of his quest for happiness. In addition to this, Dean s behavior is portrayed sympathetically and is not responsible for what the world may see as irresponsible. Seeking out such behavior is the only way that Sal and Dean see it, to finding the true meaning of life, also known as, It .
