The Abortion Debate Essay
The topic of abortion is one of the most controversial topics affecting our society. The disagreement
between for and against abortion has caused hundreds of fights that have even resulted in death.
Regardless of what many individuals may accept, fetus removal is not right or off. It is a matter of
individual assessment. Consequently, each one side can say with assurance that alternate isn t right.
Accordingly the inquiry remains; should premature birth be lawful? Though many people may
disagree on this fact that only legalized abortion is the only way woman s still have their right. One
just needs to investigate American history to see the effects of denying premature births to ladies. The
viciousness which happens today because of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They started to dissent fetus removal as unfeeling, obtuse, and lethal. Loaded with another feeling of
reason and the brilliance of a crisp, exemplary reason to maintain this new ethics cleared the field
concealing everybody afterward. Abortionists who were once venerated and hinged on were currently
hated and undermined. In spite of the fact that premature births still happened with normality, they
were kept noiseless and seen as a matter of disgrace. Over the next hundred years, public sentiment for
the fetus continued to rise until the inevitable happened in America during the early 40 s; Abortion
was made illegal. (Cohen 17). There was such a large number of back applauding and congrats around
the against fetus removal. They had succeeded in sparing the lives of the several pure unborn children
who might have been foolishly butchered for the accommodation of narrow minded, insensible, and
untrustworthy ladies. In light of this new law, ladies might settle down and raise families or give these
delightful youngsters over under the control of the many cherishing couples who were simply sitting
tight for a child to call their own. It appeared that the ideal law had barely been passed. On the other
hand had it?
It has been demonstrated time and time again all around history that the human soul won t permit

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Scramble For Africa
In the 1880s the scramble for Africa began. The scramble for Africa was when European countries
occupied, colonized, and divided Africa during the period of new imperialism. In the beginning
imperialism in Africa seemed beneficial but then opinions changes. As imperialism spread many
began to view imperialism differently than before, while some saw only the benefits of imperialism
other saw the disastrous aftermath. In the past imperialism in Africa was viewed as both beneficial and
harmful because of the disadvantages of imperialism, the benefits of imperialism, and the effects that
imperialism had on the Africans.
Although there were benefits of African imperialism, there were also disadvantages for the nations.
When writing about African imperialism a British scholar, J.A. Hobson, said that during the period of
imperialism there were many wars that were caused by Europeans attacking people who they
considered to be lower races (Document 1). The lower races were at a disadvantage because the
Africans did not have the same modern weaponry that the Europeans did, which was one of the
military causes of new imperialism. Another example is an excerpt from Balance Sheets of
Imperialism which points out that, In fact, her expenditures on colonies for that time was 6,856
million lire (Document 8). This is an example of a disadvantage because even though there was
money being made in the colonies, the countries still had to pay for things like live costs and wars

The Cask Of Amontillado Essay
In a famous tale written by Edgar Allen Poe known as The Cask of Amontillado the main character,
Montresor, lured his old friend, Fortunato, deep into the depths of a catacomb and proceeded to
murder him as revenge. Many mysterious and horrible things have occurred in catacombs everywhere.
Explorers find more and more reasons everyday to travel through various nightmare filled quarries in
an attempt to uncover the history hidden under the surface of Paris, Rome, and other locations spread
around the world. These underground cemeteries have a more gruesome history than what you might
believe, not as surprising as murder, but it still is quite intriguing. The first people believed to take
advantage of catacombs were early Christians and Jews. They have been used in Naples, Venosa, ...

They have also been used as funerals, services, and hiding places. During the times of persecution
amongst Jews and Christians, they would hide and live deep in the hidden rooms of catacombs to
avoid being captured. (Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, 6th Edition) Another time that they were
used to avoid death was during World War II. (Shea) They have also been used as shrines. During an
illegal tour in 2009, Virgin Mary statues were found hanging in different positions along the walls.
(AFP News Agency) In the Paris Catacombs, along with being used for French Resistance fighters to
hide in, they were also used for mining. Throughout the 19th century, farmers mined stones for
buildings and continued to plant mushrooms in the soil below. (Shea) Many forms of entertainment

On the Pulse of Morning, by Maya Angelou Essay
Hillary R. Clinton once said that There cannot be true democracy unless Women s voices are heard
(conference in Vienna, Austria 1997). That very brilliant quote relates to a very strong woman by the
name of Maya Angelou. Angelou is America s most visible black female autobiographer and speakers
(scholar Joanne M. Braxton). She is known for her speeches, poems, and books, but what stood out to
me the most was her 1993 inauguration speech when Bill Clinton was sworn into the White House.
Ironically, in her poem On the Pulse of Morning Maya Angelou uses clear rhetoric, prehistoric
metaphoric images, and inspirational concepts to alert her audience to treat the world differently. Born

emphasize ideas. Although Angelou speeches and poetry are enjoyable they are geared toward an
older audience, because a younger audience cannot relate some of her speech textual. The use of clear
rhetoric in her speeches makes her a truly amazing famous speaker. Moreover, the use of prehistoric
metaphoric images is directed at the audience to help them better embrace and value a new concept or
idea. Some speakers use metaphors because they are a figure of speech in which a word or phrase that
ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in
a sea of troubles or All the world s a stage (Shakespeare). In one particular part of the speech,
personification is given to the rock, implying that it be capable of cry out . It gives the figment of your

Australia s Margaret River Winery Region Essay
Welcome to Australia s Margaret River Premier Wine Region
Wines, both red and white, have been a source of refreshment for over 8000 years. To date, a cave in
Armenia is the only location of the oldest known winery ever discovered, circa 4100 B.C. And since
that time, the people s love of grapes and their savory, fermented liquids has never looked back. Over
the centuries, there have been a handful of countries that have proven more climatically advantageous
in producing exceptionally renowned wines. Today, Australia is acknowledged as one of the top 5 best
wine producing countries in the world.
While the country s signature Shiraz grapes were first introduced in 1832, the modern era of Margaret
River wineries has evolved from one initial grape farm in 1967 to an amazing viticulture paradise of
over 200 private and public vineyards. The area s climate and geography have proven to be an idyllic
blend of the natural resources required for growing exceptional grapes. The Margaret River winery
region produces 5 percent of Australia s entire grape population, but reigns supreme over 20 percent of
the country s entire premium market for wines.
The outstanding reputation of Winery Margaret River may be primarily based on its Cabernet
Sauvignon wines and its Chardonnay wines, it also has an excellent standing for its Semillon
Sauvignon Blanc wines. Amongst all of its regional wineries, Margaret River yields a variety of
harvested grapes that are nearly evenly divided

The Second And Final Component Of The Flavian Dynasty
The third and final component of the Flavian dynasty is Caesar Domitianus Augustus, the self
proclaimed God and ruthless dictator who reigned from AD 81 to 96. Domitian is the youngest son of
the emperor Vespasian and Flavia Domitilla. He was the less favored son of Vespasian, his father
valued his heir to the thrown and Domitian s older brother, Titus. Domitian s youth was largely spent
living in the shadows of Titus. As a child Domitian lived on rural land that his father acquired,
spending most of his time in his home on Pomegranate Street, which was later turned into a temple of
the Flavian family. Domitian spent a degraded childhood consisting of struggles with poverty and
infamy. He became accustomed to rural life as a child and when he fled from Rome whenever possible
in order to sulk in isolation and stab fireflies. After the death of Vitellius when he was fighting a war
up against Vespasian, Domitian gained the title as Ceaser. However, Domitian only held the name as
Ceaser, he appointed a colleague to handle all Judicial decisions. In order for Domitian to gain a
military reputation that would outshine his brother Titus, he devised a pointless expedition from Gaul
to Germany, which was dismissed by his father s friends. As a result, Domitian was reprimanded and
failed at gaining a good military reputation. Domitian constantly turned to the idea of competition in
order to gain power. An example of this is shown when Domitian wanted to offer soldiers double

Electromagnetics Ruined Britain
In order to properly talk about radar, or Radio Detection and Ranging as it was once called, we must
first look at the history of radio waves and how eating carrots saved Britain. During the late years of
the 19th century, many advances were being made in the field of electromagnetism. James Maxwell,
among his many discoveries, stated that electromagnetic waves produced through oscillating charges
could propagate through space at the speed of light. Heinrich Hertz managed to prove this hypothesis
in 1887 in his famous radio experiment. Shortly after arriving in Karlsruhe, Hertz found some large
induction coils that could produce a pulsed high voltage and a pair of spark micrometers with brass
knobs forming an adjustable spark gap, which he hoped could be used to transmit electromagnetic
waves as predicted by Maxwell. With a battery and an interrupter attached to the primary coil, he
could obtain a pulsed high voltage across a secondary coil. He then invented a high frequency
oscillating antenna by forming a dipole with two metal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, a new technology was developed which provided enough warning time to deploy a
counterattack, the RADAR. Thanks to this the allies were able to know not only the direction of an
aircraft, but also the raid count, altitude and speed. With this the allies were able to win the Battle of
Britain (2). Immediately following this victory, the allies began research into developing electric
warfare to counteract technological advances by the Germans. After gathering enough intelligence on
the German antiaircraft radar and their communication, the allies began using chaffs, and airborne
jammers in order to suppress German air defenses (2). Like it s always the case with warfare
technology, ways were devised for counteracting the enemy s radar. These techniques can be divided

Ethnic Disparities In Health Care
Although most American citizens today associate racial and ethnic disparities in public health care
quality with socioeconomic status, a majority of studies performed conclude that these discrepancies
are still highly prevalent when the factor of one s socioeconomic status is taken out of the equation.
Health disparities for a certain minority result in a higher number of illness, injury, and even mortality
for that race or ethnicity in comparison to white Americans; therefore, health care disparities can be
defined as differences between groups in health coverage, specifically focusing on both the quality
and access to care. The Office of Management and Budget has created two ethnic categories for all
American citizens to fit into, being either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this increased research and effort, Americans would be able to intervene and make positive
impacts with the state, tribal, and local levels to best address health disparities and inequalities. In
efforts to thwart ethnic and minority disparities, The Department of Health and Human Services
(HHS) passed the HHS Disparities Action Plan in order to establish a nation free of disparities in
health and health care, (Cooper 97) and to implement a series of priorities, strategies, actions, and
goals to achieve this vision. States, local communities, private organizations, and providers have
additionally engaged in efforts to reduce health disparities. With the HHS Disparities Action Plan, the
Department continuously assess policies and programs on racial and ethnic health disparities,
watching to see which policies make an impact on the level of health care received by minorities.
Similarly, The Affordable Care Act (ACA) health coverage expansions significantly increase coverage
options for low and moderate income populations and particularly benefit the vulnerable populations.
The ACA also includes provisions to strengthen the safety net delivery system, improve

issue. However again the Pakeha are unable to see his values in land or his ideas and continue to

had deep historical and spiritual connections, cannot understand the young developer s idea of
exchanging his land for equivalent land or monetary compensation . In this story, Grace show us as

Thyroid Cancer
The thyroid gland is the gland that makes and stores hormones that help regulate the heart rate, blood
pressure, body temperature, and metabolism. Thyroid hormones are essential for the function of every
cell in the body. They help regulate growth and the rate of chemical reactions in the body. Thyroid
hormones also help children grow and develop. The thyroid gland is located in the lower part of the
neck, below the Adam s apple, wrapped around the trachea. It has the shape of a butterfly with two
lobes attached to one another by a middle part called the isthmus. The thyroid uses iodine, a mineral
found in some foods and in iodized salt, to make its hormones. The two most important thyroid
hormones are thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the gland appears to be enlarged, the physician may order further tests to diagnose or rule out
cancer. These tests include: a CT scan or ultrasonography. The ultrasound uses high frequency sound
waves that are emitted and received by a transducer that is passed over the neck region. The sound
waves penetrate the body, and by electronic readings, the sound waves are arranged on a computer
screen into a picture image of the thyroid gland and any tumors (Thackery 1058). Another test used is
the thyroid scan. A patient is given radioactive iodine to drink. After the iodine has been absorbed by
the thyroid, the patient must lie on his or her back with the neck region positioned under a scanner.
The information received by the scanner is then sent to a computer that displays a 2 dimensional
image of the thyroid used to identify areas in the thyroid that do not absorb iodine normally (Surks
165). The most accurate diagnostic tool for thyroid cancer is biopsy. The test is done in a hospital
operating room under a general anesthesia. A sedative is usually given by an injection about one hour
before the procedure. A small incision is made in the neck, and either side of the thyroid or the entire
lump is removed. The sample is sent to a laboratory to be examined. If thyroid cancer is detected, the
thyroid is removed (Shin 420).
There are basically four different types of treatments used on patients with cancer of the

Creation And The Persistence Of Evil By Levenson
In Creation and the Persistence of Evil , Levenson asserts that God s divine omnipotence originates
from his battle with rather than banishment of evil. There are a few textual facts to consider in analysis
of this statement. In an initial class discussion, we examined the fact that God did not create evil. He
created what was and what had the potential to be good (e.g. light, man), separating it from what is
deemed as evil (e.g. darkness). For instance, he did not create the tree of knowledge of good and evil,
but instead drew boundaries. Yet this concept from Genesis conflicts with one that arises in Psalms
104:26. This verse states that God created the Leviathan, a sea monster, and later kills him in a battle (

Community Skate Park
Imagine, having a big problem in your community about whether or not your community should build

crime activity, danger to young skaters, and costs a lot of money. I know most of crime activity really
does happen at a skate park because, the skate park in Sioux City has been vandalized, and I know
people that go there for drug deals which is bad for young skaters to get into that kind of material. In
my opinion, a community skate park is a bad idea. In the first place, a skate park my lead to crime
activity. Courier Mail and My Suburban Life investigate that skate parks are a haven for crime. Low

things that could happen than there is when it s unsupervised. There has been a lot of accidents at a

In the third place, according to Suburban Rails skate parks are really expansive. Researchers say that

An essay on different genres including the Ghost genre and the Fantasy
Adventure genre
I have chosen two completely different genres to base my essay on.
Firstly, I have the mysterious and gripping Ghost Genre; the books I have studied are The Woman in
Black , The Langoliers and the spooky film, The Others . The second genre is Fantasy Adventure. The
book
I am studying is Lirael , a recent book written by Australian author
Garth Nix. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring , directed by Peter Jackson is the film
that I am analysing.

In the ghost story film The Others , an unnerving atmosphere is set straight away. It begins with
cheerful, but strange music, and then a woman is shown screaming, making you wonder what has just
occurred.
This is the perfect beginning for a novel under the ghost story genre.
Further on into the film, we learn that the children who live in the house are ultra sensitive to any
bright light. This adds to the strangeness of the story, possibly scaring the viewer and making them
believe that the characters are quite strange.
The majority of all ghost stories are set in the winter months because the weather is bad and when it is
like this, bad things usually happen. The main character usually gets themselves into a spot of bother
due to either the torrential rain, snow or a storm. It is highly unlikely for a ghost story to be set in
sunny or cheerful surroundings. It is the dark, dismal and eerie atmosphere that adds to the scariness.
In both The Others and Susan Hill s The Woman in Black, death is a key factor in the story line. Dying
is always used because if somebody had not died, there would be no ghost to haunt the major
character in the novel. In The Woman in Black , narrator and main character Arthur
Kipps is constantly haunted by the sound of a pony and trap being pulled under a marsh by quicksand.

The End Of World War II And Creation Of The United Nations
The end of World War II and creation of the United Nations (UN) in 1945, set the world on a new
evolutionary path. This unique evolution commenced with the United States (US) and the Union of
Soviet Socialists Republics (USSR) as world powers as a result of their distinctive roles in ending
World War II. Their contradicting ideologies as to the basis of this new evolution sparked a cold war
bringing fear and great concerns to the masses. Inspite of the intensity of this war, the UN assumed its
responsibilities in ensuring peace and encouraging both nations to peacefully sort out their differences.
This consequently recorded the first involvement of the UN in the world superpowers affairs.
Currently, the evolution transits into new superpowers; the United States an established power and
China a rising power. In contrast to the US USSR relations, the new superpowers emphasize on
constructive bilateral relations that propose to foster cooperation, mutual respect and promote global
development. This essay, indicates the importance of unified trilateral efforts and collaborative
multilateral cooperation between the US, China and the UN. These world powers have thriven through

The Role Of Leisure In Ancient Greece
Cultural, societal and technological movements in America defined leisure as we know it today. All
facets of life including religion, education and government played a part in shaping modern leisure.
Several events in particular played a major role: the philosophical views of ancient Greece, the shifts
in religious beliefs during the Protestant Reformation, the major technological advancements of the
Industrial Revolution, and the overall rapid growth of society during the early 1900s. Through these
events, leisure played drastically different roles but its significance was apparent and we can still feel
its influences today.
To gain a better understanding of contemporary leisure, it helps to take a look at its origins during the

In order to achieve this freedom, Aristotle believed man should be a balance of many facets of Greek
life. The ideal man was a balanced artist, musician, soldier and philosopher. Education and time spent
in these areas created a better citizen in Aristotle s eyes. Although leisure was described as a state of
contentment, Aristotle did classify music and contemplation as leisure activities. Music was a focal
point of Greek culture and defined its citizens. Plato is noted as explaining that, whomever cannot
hold his place in the chorus, is not really an educated man (De Grazia, 1962, p. 15). Similar to music,
contemplation was a highly regarded activity in an educated man. Aristotle believed that happiness
extended only so far as contemplation did (p. 18). Contemplation, happiness, and leisure were
intertwined and created the holistic individual and society the Greeks strived for.
Based on this idea of balance, Aristotle s teachings seem to relate to a more affluent audience. He
tends to focus on the elite of society and the men that had the money and time to focus themselves on
the different areas Aristotle claimed would profit their lives. His teachings may not have been
applicable to the Greek working class. In contemporary society, individuals of all classes strive to
reach the similar goals of freedom and happiness that Aristotle defined. Modern society strives to
engage in activities that give them the most pleasure. However, the

coffin, for my shroud will not dry because of all thy tears which fall upon it. (Lines 9 12). The son
coming to the mother in the night and speaking to her is surprising to the reader. This is the point of
the story with the greatest emotion, as the mother is sad that her child is dead, and the child is not able
to rest because of the mothers intense sadness. The climax leads to a change, and in The Shroud the
son speaking to the mother leads to the mother changing her actions, the mother cries no more so that
her son can move on. The climax of The Shroud is when the mother and son are both full of emotion,
and these emotions lead to a change. The falling action of The Shroud wraps up all the conflict in the
story, the boy coming back to speak to his mother, and in the falling

George S. Patton Rhetorical Leadership
Respected by most, yet feared by many, General George S. Patton was one of the most profound
leaders the United States Army has ever had. He took part throughout the Mexican Revolution, World
War One, and dominating the stage throughout World War Two. His career as an officer took stage
shortly after his graduation from The United States Army Military Academy, where he branched as a
cavalry officer (Patton, Wikipedia, 2017). Inpatient and young, he eventually went on his first
deployment as a lieutenant to take part in the battle of San Miguelito. It was in Mexico that Patton met
General John Joseph Pershing, where it is believed that he based a lot of his military leadership styles
on the way Pershing led his troops (Pershing, Wikipedia, 2017). Through imitating Pershing, George
had some of the most courageous leadership styles known widely throughout, where many praised his
bravery, yet several found him foolish. Following the battle of San Miguelito, Patton was promoted to
Captain and appointed by General Pershing to the head of the new AEF Tank Corps. (Pershing,
Wikipedia, 2017). It was throughout the process of developing the AEF Tank Corps. that I feel Patton
demonstrated his most profound adaptive leadership trait, drive. George Patton was driven in anything
and everything he did for the AEF Tank Corps. He implemented his own ideas, tactics, design,
uniform, and procedures in a way that revolutionized war (PATTON 360, 2015). The United States
had never had an armor

Encryption and Its Uses in Communication
Encryption is a very important aspect of our daily lives. Everywhere we go and everything we do now
involves some sort of encryption technology. From turning on our cars to using a card access to gain
entry to our workplace, encryption is there. More specifically, encryption in communication is a vital
component to everyday life. Without encryption, our lives would be much different and unsecure.
According to Oded Goldreich (2004), There are 2 main types of encryption: One is called Symmetric
key and the other is public key encryption (pp 375 376). The Symmetric key algorithm uses the same
cipher for both encryption and decryption. Conversely, the public key algorithm requires 2 separate
keys. One of these keys encrypts the text or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even common household devices such as refrigerators now have WiFi access. Thermostats also can be
controlled via the internet now. As you can see, technology is ever evolving and growing. It doesn t
seem to be slowing down at all. Encryption is a great tool that is protection the assets of many
companies. Referring back to an access card, companies rely on these to protect their buildings from
unwanted access. Encryption definitely protects digital assets too. Many software products that we use
are protected by a license or authentication key. This key is a special encrypted phrase that grants
access to the software. It can prevent people from stealing software without paying for it. While some
companies are viewed as being greedy, in all honesty it does cost time and money to develop software
and products that people want to buy. These products need to be secured in the interest of the company
because it is in human nature to be dishonest, disloyal, and to be a thief in many cases. Going back
almost ten years, companies were looking for ways to prevent game stealing. A pioneer in the gaming
industry, Valve, took action by suspending 20,000 users who had stolen their software (GameSpot).
While this was an example of how encryption was used to catch thieves, encryption can also be used
to prevent unauthorized access. This is the case in many industries such as the

Imperialism in Europe
During the nineteenth century, imperialism developed and shaped the country of Europe. Europe s
global expansion begun in the fifteenth century, but the it grew rapidly suddenly in the nineteenth
century due to industrialization, creating an exceptionally powerful country. Imperialism is when a
country extends their power into another country or state for it s resources. Europe expansion mostly
took place in Africa. In 1880, Europe ruled about 10% of Africa, but in 1914 they ruled all of Africa
expect Libya. Africa had declining empires, and local wars and slavery had left the continent
weakened, making it easy for Europe to take over. Some of the causes for Imperialism were due to
economic, political and military, society, and science and invention reasons. When Imperialism
occurs, adoption and adaptation also occurs. The idea of the more powerful country is adopted, but
during the process it is also changed. This is seen in Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell, A
Meeting in the Dark by Ngugi wa thiong o, and Water, directed by Deepa Mehta. Imperialism
impacted the characters in the story, and changed their lifestyle. In Shooting an Elephant, George
Orwell had to kill an elephant that was on the loose, destroying the village and huts. The villagers
called for his help, hoping that he would stop the elephant from causing any more destruction.
However, George realized that they wanted him to kill it. He had a tough decision to make. He didn t

Security Problems Of The Hospitality Industry
Security Problems in the Hospitality Industry:
In the realm of credit card fraud, online gambling sites, payday lending outfits and multilevel
marketing companies wear the label of high risk merchants . However with an estimated 38 percent of
all credit card fraud stemming directly from the hospitality industry, disproportionately high compared
to other sectors of multilevel marketing, hotels have earned themselves the unwelcome high risk
merchant tag.
In the US for instance, in 2014, hotels generated an estimated $177 billion in annual revenue, but there
are several risk factors involved along the hotel pipeline.: large numbers of rotating guests,
reservations and credit card based transactions, complex multichannel booking systems integrated
with dozens of third party tools and supplemented by paper based documentation, frequent
chargebacks, and heavy human interference from hotel personnel make up just a few of the factors
that make hotels susceptible to fraud.
The growing popularity of online travel has made it a prime target for cybercriminals. Travel domain
websites like Hotwire, Kayak, Expedia, Airbnb, Kayak and Priceline make booking and buying easier
than ever. Moreover, Travel and Hospitality data is rich and contains lot of customer personal,
payment and card information. However, all this rich data is not well protected against phishing
emails, fake booking websites, viruses and malwares that put the valuable customers personal and

The Reid Technique For Interrogation
The Reid technique
One of the most famous technique for interrogation is the Reid technique. According to the company
website, over 500,000 law enforcement and security professionals have attended the company s
interview and interrogation training programs since they were first offered in 1974. This technique is
based of nine steps:
The first step is the positive confrontation; the officer will present the fact from the case to the person
being interrogated. The officer will say that the person might be considered as a suspect because there
are proofs than connect him to the ongoing investigation.
The second step is the development of the theme, during the interrogation the interrogator will ask
why the suspect has committed the crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point the suspect should be on the breach of being defeated in his lies. This can be seen by
nonverbal behaviors such as long silent moments or putting elbow on the knees and posing his head
on his hands. This is the point in the interrogation when the suspect begins to confess and thus the
police officer has to keep a good contact with him.
The seventh step is about presenting an alternative, which means that the interrogator will present
another reason for why the suspect committed the crime.
The eighth step is called having the suspect orally relate various details of the offense , which means
that after the suspect accepted the fact that he is guilty, the officer should try to know more about the
crime and ask for details.
The ninth step is Converting an oral confession to a written confession. This is the final step where the
suspect will write his guilt.
The Reid technics is good when people are the real suspect and interrogator just need to have the oral
and the written consent of the crime. However, this technic can be very aggressive and misleading
when the person interrogated is just a witness. In fact, Gregg McCrary, a retired F.B.I. agent, said that
Reid technique has a tendency to see lies where they sometimes may not exist. They just assume they
re interviewing the guilty guy.

Dreddo Dan s Surfer This Case Analysis
Developing savory rosti crsps (cast study 6)
Most people see the snack market as dynamic and innovative, but actually it is surprisingly
conservative. Most of what passes for product innovation is in fact tinkering with our marketing
approach, things like special offers, promotion tie ins and so on. We occasionally put new packs round
our existing products and even more occasionally we introduce new flavors in existing product ranges.
Rarely though does anyone in their industry introduce something radically different. That is why
project Orlando is both exciting and scary Monica Allen, Technical Vice President of PJT s snack

This had convinced the company the Orlando was worth significant investment and it had been giving
priority development forward. She decided to put together a dedicated project team to oversee the
development. It is important to have representatives from all relevant part of company. Although the
team will carry out much of the worked themselves, they will still need the corporation and the
resources of their own departments. So, as well as being part of the team, they are also gateways to
expertise around the company. The team consisted of representative of marketing, the development
kitchens (laboratories), PJT s technology Centre (a development facility that served the whole group,
not just the snack division), packaging engineers, and representatives from the division s two
manufacturing plants. All but the Manufacturing representatives were allocated to the project team on
a fulltime basis. Unfortunately, Manufacturing had no one who had sufficient process knowledge and
who could be spared from their day to day activities.
Development Objectives
Monica had tried to set the objectives for the project in her opening remarks to the project team when
they had first come together: we have a real chance here to develop a product that not only will have
major market impact, but will also give use a sustainable competitive advantage. We need to make this
project work in such a way that competitors will find it difficult

The Struggle Of Women By The Sherlock Holmes Stories By...
In crime fiction, many themes are encountered in crime stories, enabling the reader to reflect on the
cultural and moral values of the society. These stories discuss various topics such as race, ethnicity,
sexism, and femininity. In the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the independence
of women is shown as a conflict in society that must be solved and controlled by men. This may be
demonstrated by the poor representation of single women present in the Sherlock Holmes stories, such
as Mary Morstan and Irene Adler who are considered as a problem in this society, because they do not
have the presence of a male figure guiding them in their everyday lives. In the stories, the issues
caused by these women are redundantly resolved by marrying a man. This implies an unacceptable
prejudice towards the female gender.
Firstly, in the stories, single women who are alone appear to be problematic due to the lack of men in
their everyday lives. Mary Morstan is isolated, and must be saved by men, whereas Irene Adler is
presented as being a scandalous woman who must be restrained. As Mary Morstan first approaches
Holmes and Watson to state her case, she explains that her mother has deceased, her father has
disappeared, and that she does not have any other family member close by to be there for her,
therefore, she is alone. She says: My father was an Indian regiment, [...] My mother was dead, and I
had no relative in England. (Conan Doyle,

How Did Monarchs Influence The Tudor Period
From nine days to forty five years, the reigns of the monarchs during the Tudor period were different
and impactful. This period in England between 1485 and 1603 was home to many of the great
monarchs, nobles, and civilians of the world. The monarchs in Tudor England shaped the period that is
known so well today for its culture and power. They controlled the religion, military, and culture in a
way that was unrivaled by anyone in their time. The monarchs shaped the Tudor period into a time
remembered for culture, war, and religion in a way that nobles and civilians could not match. The

Healthy Potion ( Hp ) Is On The Point Of Entering The Diet...
Healthy Potion (HP) is on the point of entering the diet pills market as a result of grasping the
opportunity of an active demand for more healthy and safe diet pills. In order to make a marketing
plan for it to maintain unceasing and efficient development in a long run, this essay examines product,
price, place and promotion aspects to give an overall and detailed strategy. Firstly, the contents of
marketing strategies are centralized primarily on the features and essence of product itself. Next,
reasonable pricing strategies perform for the sake of gaining more profits on the basis of increasing
the brand visibility in the market. Thirdly, place strategies make sure the HP diet pills have access to
the target market. Finally, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the diet pills are about to enter the market, its marketing strategies should be planned subject to
the demands of introduction stages in product life cycle (Day 1981, pp. 60 67). Based on the patterns
of slow sales growth, the producers can make an arrangement to put awareness building in the first
place. Generally this tactic takes the form of free trial products, discounts or advertisement on the
Internet and media to establish its market and raise awareness among potential customers in the initial
development period (Guiltinan 1999, pp. 509 529). However, concerns like profits shrinkage and
potential brand degradation are barriers to have negative influence on the subsequent development.
The drawbacks cannot be denied, but these just represent short term incentives and readily get strict
control through a well designed budget plan (Falkner, Devetsikiotis and Lambadaris 2000, pp. 2 13).
Manufacturer is supposed to bear the temporary loss in order to raise quick notice about the new
healthy diet pills from the long term perspective. Besides, gathering some retailers could contribute to
break the little buying deadlock, which is easily operated for HP diet pills as the drinks sold previously
have built up a loyal customers base.
Fundamentally, marketing strategies always focus on the product itself, thus only differentiating the
product obviously from the competitors can the new product survives in the intense competition

Analysis Of There Will Come Soft Rains
The text, There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury tells the story of a robotically controlled
house left standing in a post apocalyptic world. Every day, life continues as normal for the house until
it meets the same fate of death as it catches on fire and burns to the ground, leaving only one voice
behind.
This story made me think about how, even though you may not be there, time still passes on and does
not stop for anybody. Throughout the text, it continues to refer to the time of day it is, and elaborates
on how the day is progressing, like one of the first lines, Tick tock, seven o clock, time to get up, time
to get up, seven o clock! Everything, apart from the fact there is nobody around, seems completely
normal, and a routine is still kept in place. The house continues on as if what s going on is completely
normal, as it knows no different from what it has been programmed to do. The writer makes me think
about how we need to make the most of our time on our Earth. We never know when our last day will
be, and our lives are honestly quite fleeting. I personally know that I don t like or enjoy coming out of
the routine I have set for myself on a day to day basis, although this makes a lot of my days feel the
same in an overall sense. The message about how time won t, and can t, stop for anybody, and how
life is so fragile, makes me think about how, maybe, I am not living to my fullest potential. This is the
case for a lot of other people as well, and is a wide

Hiv Prevention Is A Preventable Disease
Today, as we must know HIV is still spreading around the world and neither a vaccine nor a cure
exists. The prevention of the disease remains the main key of the strategy to stop the epidemic. The
most common mode of HIV transmission is sexual contact; therefore, HIV prevention is closely linked
to the sexual and reproductive health of men and women. Effective prevention programs include
interventions that promote sex abstinence, delay sexual initiation, maintain a mutually faithful partner,
limit sexual partners, use condoms consistently and correctly, and counsel and test for HIV. The most
effective combination of these interventions depends on the characteristics of groups infected with

The disagreement between for and against abortion has caused hundreds of fights that have even resulted in death. Regardless of what many individuals may accept, fetus removal is not right or off. It is a matter of individual assessment. Consequently, each one side can say with assurance that alternate isn t right. Accordingly the inquiry remains; should premature birth be lawful? Though many people may disagree on this fact that only legalized abortion is the only way woman s still have their right. One just needs to investigate American history to see the effects of denying premature births to ladies. The viciousness which happens today because of the ... Loaded with another feeling of reason and the brilliance of a crisp, exemplary reason to maintain this new ethics cleared the field concealing everybody afterward. Abortionists who were once venerated and hinged on were currently hated and undermined. In spite of the fact that premature births still happened with normality, they were kept noiseless and seen as a matter of disgrace. Over the next hundred years, public sentiment for the fetus continued to rise until the inevitable happened in America during the early 40 s; Abortion was made illegal. (Cohen 17). There was such a large number of back applauding and congrats around the against fetus removal. They had succeeded in sparing the lives of the several pure unborn children who might have been foolishly butchered for the accommodation of narrow minded, insensible, and untrustworthy ladies. In light of this new law, ladies might settle down and raise families or give these delightful youngsters over under the control of the many cherishing couples who were simply sitting tight for a child to call their own. It appeared that the ideal law had barely been passed. On the other hand had it? It has been demonstrated time and time again all around history that the human soul won t permit restriction. • 3. The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Scramble For Africa In the 1880s the scramble for Africa began. The scramble for Africa was when European countries occupied, colonized, and divided Africa during the period of new imperialism. In the beginning imperialism in Africa seemed beneficial but then opinions changes. As imperialism spread many began to view imperialism differently than before, while some saw only the benefits of imperialism other saw the disastrous aftermath. In the past imperialism in Africa was viewed as both beneficial and harmful because of the disadvantages of imperialism, the benefits of imperialism, and the effects that imperialism had on the Africans. Although there were benefits of African imperialism, there were also disadvantages for the nations. When writing about African imperialism a British scholar, J.A. Hobson, said that during the period of imperialism there were many wars that were caused by Europeans attacking people who they considered to be lower races (Document 1). The lower races were at a disadvantage because the Africans did not have the same modern weaponry that the Europeans did, which was one of the military causes of new imperialism. Another example is an excerpt from Balance Sheets of Imperialism which points out that, In fact, her expenditures on colonies for that time was 6,856 million lire (Document 8). This is an example of a disadvantage because even though there was money being made in the colonies, the countries still had to pay for things like live costs and wars ... The Cask Of Amontillado Essay In a famous tale written by Edgar Allen Poe known as The Cask of Amontillado the main character, Montresor, lured his old friend, Fortunato, deep into the depths of a catacomb and proceeded to murder him as revenge. Many mysterious and horrible things have occurred in catacombs everywhere. Explorers find more and more reasons everyday to travel through various nightmare filled quarries in an attempt to uncover the history hidden under the surface of Paris, Rome, and other locations spread around the world. These underground cemeteries have a more gruesome history than what you might believe, not as surprising as murder, but it still is quite intriguing. • 6. On the Pulse of Morning, by Maya Angelou Essay Hillary R. Clinton once said that There cannot be true democracy unless Women s voices are heard (conference in Vienna, Austria 1997). That very brilliant quote relates to a very strong woman by the name of Maya Angelou. Angelou is America s most visible black female autobiographer and speakers (scholar Joanne M. Braxton). She is known for her speeches, poems, and books, but what stood out to me the most was her 1993 inauguration speech when Bill Clinton was sworn into the White House. Ironically, in her poem On the Pulse of Morning Maya Angelou uses clear rhetoric, prehistoric metaphoric images, and inspirational concepts to alert her audience to treat the world differently. Angelou vocal delivery is easy to hear, and she uses effective pauses to emphasize ideas. Although Angelou speeches and poetry are enjoyable they are geared toward an older audience, because a younger audience cannot relate some of her speech textual. The use of clear rhetoric in her speeches makes her a truly amazing famous speaker. Moreover, the use of prehistoric metaphoric images is directed at the audience to help them better embrace and value a new concept or idea. Some speakers use metaphors because they are a figure of speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in a sea of troubles or All the world s a stage (Shakespeare). To date, a cave in Armenia is the only location of the oldest known winery ever discovered, circa 4100 B.C. And since that time, the people s love of grapes and their savory, fermented liquids has never looked back. Over the centuries, there have been a handful of countries that have proven more climatically advantageous in producing exceptionally renowned wines. Today, Australia is acknowledged as one of the top 5 best wine producing countries in the world. While the country s signature Shiraz grapes were first introduced in 1832, the modern era of Margaret River wineries has evolved from one initial grape farm in 1967 to an amazing viticulture paradise of over 200 private and public vineyards. • 9. The Second And Final Component Of The Flavian Dynasty The third and final component of the Flavian dynasty is Caesar Domitianus Augustus, the self proclaimed God and ruthless dictator who reigned from AD 81 to 96. Domitian is the youngest son of the emperor Vespasian and Flavia Domitilla. He was the less favored son of Vespasian, his father valued his heir to the thrown and Domitian s older brother, Titus. Domitian s youth was largely spent living in the shadows of Titus. As a child Domitian lived on rural land that his father acquired, spending most of his time in his home on Pomegranate Street, which was later turned into a temple of the Flavian family. Domitian spent a degraded childhood consisting of struggles with poverty and infamy. He became accustomed to rural life as a child and when he fled from Rome whenever possible in order to sulk in isolation and stab fireflies. After the death of Vitellius when he was fighting a war up against Vespasian, Domitian gained the title as Ceaser. However, Domitian only held the name as Ceaser, he appointed a colleague to handle all Judicial decisions. In order for Domitian to gain a military reputation that would outshine his brother Titus, he devised a pointless expedition from Gaul to Germany, which was dismissed by his father s friends. As a result, Domitian was reprimanded and failed at gaining a good military reputation. Domitian constantly turned to the idea of competition in order to gain power. • 10. Electromagnetics Ruined Britain In order to properly talk about radar, or Radio Detection and Ranging as it was once called, we must first look at the history of radio waves and how eating carrots saved Britain. During the late years of the 19th century, many advances were being made in the field of electromagnetism. James Maxwell, among his many discoveries, stated that electromagnetic waves produced through oscillating charges could propagate through space at the speed of light. Heinrich Hertz managed to prove this hypothesis in 1887 in his famous radio experiment. Shortly after arriving in Karlsruhe, Hertz found some large induction coils that could produce a pulsed high voltage and a pair of spark micrometers with brass knobs forming an adjustable spark gap, which he hoped could be used to transmit electromagnetic waves as predicted by Maxwell. With a battery and an interrupter attached to the primary coil, he could obtain a pulsed high voltage across a secondary coil. However, a new technology was developed which provided enough warning time to deploy a counterattack, the RADAR. Thanks to this the allies were able to know not only the direction of an aircraft, but also the raid count, altitude and speed. With this the allies were able to win the Battle of Britain (2). Immediately following this victory, the allies began research into developing electric warfare to counteract technological advances by the Germans. After gathering enough intelligence on the German antiaircraft radar and their communication, the allies began using chaffs, and airborne jammers in order to suppress German air defenses (2). Analyse how the lack of a clear outcome in at least TWO short stories you have studied makes the stories successful for you: Journey by Patricia Grace and The People Before by Maurice Shadbolt both look at land confiscation and compensation cases that occurred during the early colonization of New Zealand and their modern relevance today. Although both these authors approach this similar topic differently, both stories lack a clear outcome. Thyroid hormones are essential for the function of every cell in the body. They help regulate growth and the rate of chemical reactions in the body. Thyroid hormones also help children grow and develop. The thyroid gland is located in the lower part of the neck, below the Adam s apple, wrapped around the trachea. It has the shape of a butterfly with two lobes attached to one another by a middle part called the isthmus. The thyroid uses iodine, a mineral found in some foods and in iodized salt, to make its hormones. The two most important thyroid hormones are thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine ... The ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves that are emitted and received by a transducer that is passed over the neck region. The sound waves penetrate the body, and by electronic readings, the sound waves are arranged on a computer screen into a picture image of the thyroid gland and any tumors (Thackery 1058). Another test used is the thyroid scan. A patient is given radioactive iodine to drink. After the iodine has been absorbed by the thyroid, the patient must lie on his or her back with the neck region positioned under a scanner. The information received by the scanner is then sent to a computer that displays a 2 dimensional image of the thyroid used to identify areas in the thyroid that do not absorb iodine normally (Surks 165). The most accurate diagnostic tool for thyroid cancer is biopsy. The test is done in a hospital operating room under a general anesthesia. A sedative is usually given by an injection about one hour before the procedure. A small incision is made in the neck, and either side of the thyroid or the entire lump is removed. The sample is sent to a laboratory to be examined. If thyroid cancer is detected, the thyroid is removed (Shin 420). Creation And The Persistence Of Evil By Levenson In Creation and the Persistence of Evil , Levenson asserts that God s divine omnipotence originates from his battle with rather than banishment of evil. There are a few textual facts to consider in analysis of this statement. In an initial class discussion, we examined the fact that God did not create evil. He created what was and what had the potential to be good (e.g. light, man), separating it from what is deemed as evil (e.g. darkness). For instance, he did not create the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but instead drew boundaries. Yet this concept from Genesis conflicts with one that arises in Psalms 104:26. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the ghost story film The Others , an unnerving atmosphere is set straight away. It begins with cheerful, but strange music, and then a woman is shown screaming, making you wonder what has just occurred. This is the perfect beginning for a novel under the ghost story genre. Further on into the film, we learn that the children who live in the house are ultra sensitive to any bright light. This adds to the strangeness of the story, possibly scaring the viewer and making them believe that the characters are quite strange. The majority of all ghost stories are set in the winter months because the weather is bad and when it is like this, bad things usually happen. Plato is noted as explaining that, whomever cannot hold his place in the chorus, is not really an educated man (De Grazia, 1962, p. 15). According to the company website, over 500,000 law enforcement and security professionals have attended the company s interview and interrogation training programs since they were first offered in 1974. This technique is based of nine steps: The first step is the positive confrontation; the officer will present the fact from the case to the person being interrogated. The officer will say that the person might be considered as a suspect because there are proofs than connect him to the ongoing investigation. The second step is the development of the theme, during the interrogation the interrogator will ask why the suspect has committed the crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point the suspect should be on the breach of being defeated in his lies. This can be seen by nonverbal behaviors such as long silent moments or putting elbow on the knees and posing his head on his hands. The seventh step is about presenting an alternative, which means that the interrogator will present another reason for why the suspect committed the crime. The eighth step is called having the suspect orally relate various details of the offense , which means that after the suspect accepted the fact that he is guilty, the officer should try to know more about the crime and ask for details. The ninth step is Converting an oral confession to a written confession. This is the final step where the suspect will write his guilt. The Reid technics is good when people are the real suspect and interrogator just need to have the oral and the written consent of the crime. In crime fiction, many themes are encountered in crime stories, enabling the reader to reflect on the cultural and moral values of the society. These stories discuss various topics such as race, ethnicity, sexism, and femininity. In the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the independence of women is shown as a conflict in society that must be solved and controlled by men. This may be demonstrated by the poor representation of single women present in the Sherlock Holmes stories, such as Mary Morstan and Irene Adler who are considered as a problem in this society, because they do not have the presence of a male figure guiding them in their everyday lives. In the stories, the issues caused by these women are redundantly resolved by marrying a man. This implies an unacceptable prejudice towards the female gender. Firstly, in the stories, single women who are alone appear to be problematic due to the lack of men in their everyday lives. Mary Morstan is isolated, and must be saved by men, whereas Irene Adler is presented as being a scandalous woman who must be restrained. Since the diet pills are about to enter the market, its marketing strategies should be planned subject to the demands of introduction stages in product life cycle (Day 1981, pp. 60 67). Based on the patterns of slow sales growth, the producers can make an arrangement to put awareness building in the first place. Generally this tactic takes the form of free trial products, discounts or advertisement on the Internet and media to establish its market and raise awareness among potential customers in the initial development period (Guiltinan 1999, pp. 509 529). However, concerns like profits shrinkage and potential brand degradation are barriers to have negative influence on the subsequent development. The drawbacks cannot be denied, but these just represent short term incentives and readily get strict control through a well designed budget plan (Falkner, Devetsikiotis and Lambadaris 2000, pp. 2 13). Manufacturer is supposed to bear the temporary loss in order to raise quick notice about the new healthy diet pills from the long term perspective. • 33. Analysis Of There Will Come Soft Rains The text, There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury tells the story of a robotically controlled house left standing in a post apocalyptic world. Every day, life continues as normal for the house until it meets the same fate of death as it catches on fire and burns to the ground, leaving only one voice behind. This story made me think about how, even though you may not be there, time still passes on and does not stop for anybody. Throughout the text, it continues to refer to the time of day it is, and elaborates on how the day is progressing, like one of the first lines, Tick tock, seven o clock, time to get up, time to get up, seven o clock! Everything, apart from the fact there is nobody around, seems completely normal, and a routine is still kept in place. The house continues on as if what s going on is completely normal, as it knows no different from what it has been programmed to do. The writer makes me think about how we need to make the most of our time on our Earth. We never know when our last day will be, and our lives are honestly quite fleeting. I personally know that I don t like or enjoy coming out of the routine I have set for myself on a day to day basis, although this makes a lot of my days feel the same in an overall sense. The message about how time won t, and can t, stop for anybody, and how life is so fragile, makes me think about how, maybe, I am not living to my fullest potential. This is the case for a lot of other people as well, and is a wide ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
