In this paper, we aim to fill what we, as researchers and teachers in qualitative psychology, have
experienced as a current gap: the absence of a paper which adequately outlines the theory, application,
and evaluation of thematic analysis, and one which does so in a way accessible to students and those
not particularly familiar with qualitative research. 1 That is, we aim to write a paper which will be
useful as both a teaching and research tool in qualitative psychology. Therefore, in this paper we
discuss theory and method for thematic analysis, and clarify the similarities and differences between
different approaches that share features in common with a thematic approach.
Qualitative approaches are incredibly diverse, complex and nuanced (Holloway Todres, 2003), and

When planning a lesson in the classroom it is extremely important to keep in mind all the needs of the
students in the classroom. Every student has their own level of learning and some have major needs
that may need some adaptations in the lesson plan. Currently, all my lessons follow along with the

I had a heartwarming experience this past summer at a Bible camp where I volunteer as a counselor. It
was my first year volunteering and I wanted all my campers to have a great time like I always did!
One of my campers was a young girl named Vivian. She had a rough start to the week. Vivian did not
want to do any of the activities, follow the rules and she walked without a buddy at all times.
Unfortunately on top of all this, Vivian was very accident prone. The first three days she had visited
the nurse twice. On one of these visits she was checked to see if she had a concussion. Needless to say,
she was not enjoying her time so far at camp that week.
After the hard start to the week, she was not wanting to be at camp anymore and wanted to go home.
My job was to make her feel better and want to have fun! I decided to have a talk with her one night
before bedtime. We talked about how she was feeling and she had told me that she was home sick. I
suggested that she wrote a letter to her family. She got very excited and wrote a letter, drew pictures,
and put one of her crafts in the envelope to send to her parents. This idea of mine that helped her feel
better gave her the confidence to confide in me. She started to talk to me and tell me stories about

Eating Disorders
According to The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) website, eating disorders are actually
serious and often fatal illnesses causing serve disturbances to a person s eating behaviors. People with
eating disorders often have obsessions with food, their body weight, and their shape. There is,
however, a difference between an eating disorder and a diet. It is important to know the difference.
Eating disorders are a daily struggle for 10 million females and 1 million males in the United States
(Eating Disorder Hope). An eating disorder is a compulsion to avoid eating in order to lose weight
while a diet is cutting down eating or healthier eating in order to lose weight. The three types of an
eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. All three disorders
are important and they all deserve immediate treatment. No matter what eating disorder someone has,
it can resort in organ damage and sometimes even death.
The average that someone develops anorexia is 19 years old (NIMH), but that does not mean a person
can only be 19 in order to develop an eating disorder. The NIMH has reported cases of eating
disorders reporting in ages as low as .1 percent of eight to eleven year olds and .2 percent of twelve to
fifteen year olds. Eating disorders are becoming more common for students in high school and
college, since they view it as a coping mechanism to handle their

The substance of Shakespeare s tragedy solely points out to the power of death. In this five act play,
the death of important characters suffices for the cruel reality of life. However, a completely realm is
required in order to observe Shakespeare s version of tragedy. Shakespeare has used tragedy to explain
on the major paradoxes of life. It can be called a Paradox of disappointment. Defeat, unfulfilled
desired, failed hopes and then finally death are some of the faces of tragedies faced by Human. These
are realities of life and cannot be avoided. Although they form the foundation of our lives but are still
considered as intruders to our ideal version of life. This is the reason why when we are confronted by
tragic literature in this particular paradox, we become fascinated.
Bradley emphasizes on viewing the literary techniques used not as the basic constituents but as the
expression of tragedy. Some of the major characters in Shakespeare s renowned tragedies are Hamlet,
King Lear, Othello, and Macbeth. Most of these characters are individual sufferers as in reality; a
single man faces the paradoxes of life. In every work of Shakespeare, irrespective of the individually
unique traits, we find a shattered hope or a failed ambition as a reason for frustration. Hence, it is the
disappointment paradox which serves as the substance of any tragedy as per Shakespeare.

When I first arrived to DIG Community Counseling Center, I had to get a better understanding of the
paperwork aspect of counseling as well as handling the front office duties along with Mary. When I
first arrived at DIG Community Counselling center, I was given a sheet of the responsibilities that I
would do throughout the course of the seven weeks. Mrs. Lakeisha Lake set me down and what about
