Overview of the Research Process for Business Students
What is Research?
People undertake research in order to find things out in a systematic way, thereby increasing their
knowledge (Jankowicz, 1995). Systematic suggests that research is based on logical relationships
and not just beliefs (Ghauri and Gronhaug, 2010). To find things out suggests there are a
multiplicity of possible purposes for your research (Becker, 1998). It is therefore an activity which
has to be finished at some point to be of use.
The results of research really are all around us in everyday life. Politicians often justify their policy
decisions on the basis of research; Newspapers report the findings of research companies.
Documentary programmes tell us about research findings and advertisers may highlight the ... Show

It has not been changed or altered by human beings therefore its validity is greater than secondary
data however it is important to remember it can only be considered as reliable as the people who
gathered it. Gathering data in this way is time consuming, and incurs a high cost. More resources
tend to be required and it can result in inaccurate feedback.
Secondary data is less valid but it is readily available and can be reused. It is cheaper and quicker
to obtain in comparison to primary data. In some circumstances primary data does not exist and so
one has to confine the research of secondary data.
The Research Process
Research is not neutral, but reflects a range of the researcher s personal interests, values, abilities,
assumptions aims and ambitions. The research philosophy depends on the way you think about the
development of knowledge (Saunders et al. 2000, p.84)
Collis and Hussey (2003, p.52) highlight two main research philosophies and detail that there can
be overlap between the two and both positions may be identifiable in any research project. They are
the positivistic and phenomenological. Positivistic approaches are founded on the

King Of The Dirtbags And Wendell Berry s An Entrance To...
The interconnection between the human race and nature is complex, and can be interpreted an
infinite amount of ways. Mark Jenkins King of the Dirtbags and Wendell Berry s An Entrance to
the Woods are both very similar in the ways they represent philosophical ideas regarding the
relationship between the modern man and nature. Both literary pieces discuss the benefits of
simplicity, and explain how mankind has a tendency to overcomplicate much of what they develop.
The two authors also share the idea in their writings that the ability to adapt to different
environments is a crucial trait in evolution and progression as a society. Another major concept that
is prevalent in both of the author s pieces is that man must be able to reach beyond his comfort zone
to understand nature s consistency throughout time. Both Berry and Jenkins express how important
simplicity is in the journey of a life in close connection with nature, although they depict different
mental images in their writings, they have the same meaning. In Jenkins writing he depicts Yvon
Chouinard as a man who is very connected with his natural surroundings, describing him as a
person who is constantly looking how to make things better, simpler, lighter and more
environmentally friendly (575). It is made very clear from this quote that both Chouinard and
Jenkins find simplicity an invaluable characteristic to not only helping nature, but being a part of it.
Jenkins further develops this idea when he talks more about Chouinard s feelings: To him the ascent
became more elegant each time something unnecessary was eliminated (578). Berry displays this
mutual feeling as he describes his emotional state while alone in the wildernesswhen he states, The
absence of humansociety, that made me so uneasy last night, now begins to be a comfort to me. I
am afoot in the woods. I am alive in the world, this moment, without the help or the interference of
any machine (726). In this brief excerpt from Berry s writing, he explains how the absence of a
complex human society makes him feel more connected to his natural surroundings as he is at his
simplest state, his most irreducible self (726).
Adaption is another key to an unabridged relationship with

The Contagion Of Contagion And Vaccines
Contagion/Vaccines If I was to quarantine an individual in a Utilitarian system, I would have
them placed into a room by themselves in a hospital. They would be provided with any sort of
necessities. Family members would be allowed to come into their room to visit, as long as they
were fully protected. The main concern would be to keep them away from other people so they do
not spread the deadly disease, but still keep them content. This keeps the disease contained to the
one personrather than spreading even further, benefiting the greater number. They may not
leave the room until they have been treated or cleared by a doctor. If for some reason they did
escape, threatening many others to become ill, they would have to pay a very large fine. If there
was a nation needing to be quarantined under a Utilitarian system, I would let no individual cross
state borders. The border of each state would have military men lining it. If they were to go
against this and somehow sneak out of their state, they would face jail time in their near future. In
the movie, Contagion, they did not let anyone leave the state, which caused riots and panic in the
citizen s living there. To stop this from happening, I would have selective individuals from each
town that had been cleared by a doctor, go out and work the stores, clean up the streets and try to
keep the town as put together as possible. This would help make the situation more comforting than
nerve wracking. If I was to quarantine

Racial Disparities In Education
Racial disparities exist in every aspect of our society. It exists in religion, socioeconomic status,
life chances, media, etc. It affects everyone even if they realize or not. Education is one of the
things that are also affected by the racial stratification occurring in the United States. In this paper I
will look in to whether Tennessee is better or worse for educational advancement by comparing
four races and their high schoolgraduation rates on the national and state levels. The four races
used will be; Asian, Black, Hispanic/Latino, and White. I will then tie specific theories to why
these disparities may exist. This will hopefully give insight in to this touchy topic and provide a
starting point for correcting the gap. The data collected from the NCES and Tennessee state
report card provides empirical evidence that a racial gap does exist on the national and state
levels. I provided the data in two forms a graph and a table. The graph shows that Whites and
Asians are virtually almost the same on the state and national levels. The Blacks and Hispanic
/Latinos are much lower than the others. The Table provides the exact percentage on graduation by
racefor the state and national level. Asians had the highest graduation rate, followed by whites,
then Hispanics and Latinos, and ending with Blacks. On the state Level there is a 12.2 percent
difference between the groups with higher rates and those with lower. However, on the National
level there is a 15 percent

Carbon atoms (grey).
Oxygen atoms (red).
Hydrogen atoms (white).
B.Practice moving the molecule around. Click on Label to label the carbons.

Sucrose found in cane sugar and beet sugar is a disaccharide formula C12H22O11 consisting of one
glucose unit combined with one fructose unit.

Bipolar Disorder ( Bipolar ) Essay
Bipolar Disorder or manic depressive disorder is a disorder characterized by highs, manias, and
lows, depressions, and can therefore be easily distinguished from unipolar depression, a major
depressive disorder in DSM 5, by the presence of manic or hypomanic episodes (Miklowitz
Gitlin, 2014). Bipolar disorder is generally an episodic, lifelong illness with a variable course
(American Psychiatric Association, 2010). There are two classifications of bipolar disorder;
bipolar I disorder and bipolar II disorder. If the episodes are primarily manic but there has been at
least one depressive episode, the diagnosis is bipolar I disorder (Early, 2009). If the episodes are
primarily depressed but there has been at least one episode of hypomania, increased mood that is
more euphoric than normal but not quite manic, the diagnosis is bipolar II disorder (Early, 2009).
A manic episode is characterized by an abnormality of mood that is euphoric, expansive, and
elevated or irritable with increased energy, along with signs and symptoms such as inflated self
esteem or grandiosity, decreased need for sleep. Pressure of speech or being extremely talkative,
racing thoughts or flight of ideas, distractibility, an increase in goal directed behavior, agitation,
poor judgment and impulsive decision making are more signs and symptoms of a manic episode. A
manic episode can result in unwise and potentially dangerous behavior. Destructive behaviors can
often occur with spending money, sexual

Punishment And Punishment In Education
One of the basic human functions is to learn, whether it be a specific school subject or a behavior
through observation. As one grows up, it is important to see how he or she was taught to treat
people good, bad, honest, fair? How can violence be eliminated very early on in development? One
form of learning is through punishment. Many times, punishment is used to inform a child or
even an adult to not do a certain thing again while educating them on what is good or bad
behavior considering the circumstance. Therefore, punishment is not only a teaching tool, but
also a process that decreases the likelihood reoccurrence of a behavior (Hockenbury, S. E.,
Nolan, S. A, Hockenbury, D. H. 2015). As a young child, a punishment may have included
taking away a desired toy or a treat that we wanted to obtain, such as going to the movies or
getting McDonalds for dinner. It is easy to look back and reflect on past experiences of
punishment that shaped us into who we are today. However, punishment is not simply a negative
consequence of being a child; it can happen to people of all ages. For example, a punishment can
be directed at adults who don t dress properly or arrive late to work. Punishment can be effective
for all age groups because human beings are an imperfect species. It is never too late to improve
one s behavior. Overall, the main purpose of punishment is to stop wrongdoings among all ages
from happening repeatedly. When thinking of punishment regarding psychology,

Plastic Pollution Essay
The Global Impact of Plastic Pollution Entering Marine Ecosystems Approximately, 280 million
tons of plastic is produced year round around the globe (Sigler, 2014) which accounts for 8% of
the worldwide manufacturing for oil (Vegter, et al., 2014). Plastics are a major component in
most consumer products; the reason being is that plastic is inexpensive, lightweight, durable, and
an excellent insulator. For this reason, plastic can be found in most items from: storage
containers, packaging material, communication devices, and transportation. Unfortunately, 3.5
million pieces of plastic are estimated to enter the ocean shores daily; one third to a half of the
garbage found in the ocean originate from the beverage industry (Cohen, 2015). This litter is a
symptom of our throw away society and our approach on how we manage our natural resources
(UN, 2011). Nearly one third of plastics that is generated are for single use items such as: floss,
straws, stirrer, coffee lids, and disposable cutlery (Sigler, 2014). The presence of plastic debris will
not only effect oceanic habitat and ecosystems but have an economic effect on anthropogenic
activities such as tourism on beaches and fishing industry. Although many countries are eager to
prevent and manage wastesurrounding their coastal waters; none are willing to take responsibility
over the large accumulation of waste in ocean gyres, known as garbage patches, and for good
reason. These garbage patches are located in

The Privatization Of Water Management
With an ever growing population and more and more countries entering the developed world, the
importance of water management has never been so great. In recent years, the participation of the
private sector in water management has come into play, mainly driven by the long overdue capital
improvements needed, a worldwide shrinking in public revenue, and a growing notion that private
operators are more efficient than public. Though largely opposed by human rightsactivists, the
privatization of water has benefits that far outweigh the cons. These private companies offer the
water sector greater fiscal responsibility that will keep one of the most important elements on earth
readily available for the long term future, as well as the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today water rights have become a very sophisticated problem with more aspects than simply
providing water for everyone, but also with its impact on the environment. Most well developed
countries have solved the majority of this problem with great water systems, but they do still need
to maintain the system to accommodate the growing populations and changing climate. Also many
of the new countries entering the developed industrial world lack this well established system and
are struggling to develop water infrastructure at the same rate as the rising water demand.
Unfortunately, both the developed and developing countries have a long way to go before the
issues of water management can be considered solved in the long term scope.
The strongest claim against the privatization of water comes from civil rights activists like the
Public Citizen organization which views itself as the countervailing force to corporate power
(Citizen). The Public Citizen was established in 1971 and has been lobbying against large
corporations successfully for decades, and have been well documented in their fight against the
privatization of water. Their largest argument points out the well known fact that corporations serve
their stakeholders, and not the people. They are a money hungry beast that has no obligation to
stand up for the little guy in tough times.

One By Metallica Essay
The lyrics of the song One by Metallica is a song about the mental state of one who is in a war. It
starts off by describing how the narrator can t seem to tell whether or not what he is experiencing
is reality or a nightmare. The lyrics state for God to wake him up from his nightmare. The lyrics
of this song go back and forth from war to being fed with tubes and living on machines
suggesting the narrator is seriously injured and is wanting to die and wake up from the nightmare
he is in. It is common for injuries to occur in warfare and in this case, the narrator is suffering
from extreme pain and living off machines. It also states at the end that a landmine is what took his

depression like many others suffer from. However, I did struggle every day to stay sane. It was
very hard to stay focused in school and to socialize with friends and family. Eventually, I did get

Comparing Orwell s Arguments On Politics And The English...
The English language is not something that is complicated. It is just something that needs to be
practiced to perfection. Over a long period of time, it has slowly become something that is hard
for people to understand. It is just as difficult for people today as it would have been one hundred
years ago. Orwell makes this extremely clear in Politics and the English Language. Even though
this was written in 1946, there are many points and arguments that still have relevance today. One
of his main arguments is that the reason that this language has had an extreme downfall is because
of politics and economics. He argues that political language has become dull and somewhat useless.
To clarify his argument, he uses writings from two professors and... Show more content on

This essay was written right around the corner away from World War Two, which was an event
that I am sure was full of politics and economics. Orwell states that in his time, political writing
was largely the defence of the defensible. He is saying that the wrong acts of politician writers
can be defended, but only by the type of arguments that meet the same standards of their own. He
goes on to illustrate his argument by using examples of dropping atom bombs on Japan and the
continuance of British rule in India. Around this time in history in America when people saw
this in the newspaper, they probably thought that it was all ok. Maybe this would be because
nothing happened to their country. Or because the articles in the paper were written by the type
of bad writers that Orwell expose in his essay. The articles were probably sugar coated with huge
words to overlook the fact that people were struggling and being killed. Which means that the
vagueness and euphemisms in these political writings are obvious. No one really wanted to
straight up say that America killed at least 129,000 people when bombing japan. You can still
see that this same problem occurs here in 2015. They will say that 200 citizens were killed in
countries overseas by the Americans instead of saying that most of them were innocent people
and possibly even children and babies that were murdered and we don t really care who they
were. It s all about the way that the authors write their articles and how they want their audiences
to feel. Just to make them think that bad things are acceptable. This is what I get from Orwell s
essay. Not only does he want these so called politicians and their followers to write better but he
also wants them to create a better society for people by not covering up these brutal

Roles Within The Organization s Governance Model
Introduction The Hospital Sisters Health Systems consist of four different divisions within two
states and have a total of 13 hospitals, along with a large physician group. The organization was
originally run by a group of nuns. However, the nuns have formed a board to oversee the
governance of HSHS to ensure they continue to meet the high expectations and mission
originally designed by the founding convent in 1875. As the hospital system has grown the
governance board has also grown and now has several key members listed on its organizational
chart. Each of the roles is essential in creating uniformed quality facilities throughout not only the
divisions but the entire HSHS system. The governance board assists in many areas, including
HIT decisions and upgrades. This paper will discuss the governance of HSHS, various roles
within the organization s governance model, the HIT decision making process, and an example of
HIT implementation within the HSHS EWD. Hospital Governance Sister Bernadine Gutowski is
one of a few nuns that belong to the Third Order of St Francis. She works as a secretary within the
Hospital Sisters Health Systems (HSHS) and recently discussed with me the history of our
organization and the changes it has endured. HSHS was originally ran by a group of nuns that
belonged to the Third Order of St. Francis in 1875. At that time, they began serving the community
by nursing sick and poor people within their homes. Since then they have expanded their health

Land In The Grapes Of Wrath
John Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath is one of the most well know and important novels in
American Literature. The Grapes of Wrath shows the economic hardship that the Dust Bowl
brought to farmers on the Southern Plains. The Dust Bowl was caused by a drought and forced
tenant farmers (farmers who occupy and farm land that is owned by someone else) to leave their
land and head west in search for work. One of the most important themes of the novel is the great
significance of land and its role in the lives of the tenant farmers. Many characters in the novel
reveal their attachment to the land in Oklahoma and its dominating role in their lives. Steinbeck
uses the character Grampa to explore the prevalent theme of the importance of land to the... Show

Steinbeck compares Grampa to a frantic, mischievous, and impatient child who, drank too much
when he could get it, ate too much when it was there, talked too much all the time, (Steinbeck

and shows that he s not giving up anytime soon. The same applies to the remaining tenant
farmers. The farmers are hopeful for rains to come and end the drought so that they can start
planting again. The end of the drought would mark the end of their distress and the insurance that
they could stay on their land. Like the Joads, many families stayed on the land for as long as
possible hoping for an end to their turmoil. Many of the evicted families probably would have
waited out the drought if it were not for the forced removal by the big landowners and companies.

their land, Grampa tries not to surrender to old

What are the industry structures and dynamics of the metal can industry?
The industry structure analysis of the metal can industry mainly depends on the assessment of the
five competitive forces which shapes the industry which is following:
1.Bargaining power of suppliers:
There are three aluminium suppliers who dominate the market which are Alcan Aluminium, Aloca
and Reynold metal. These three world leading companies have huge bargaining power on can
manufacturers as they were responsible for huge part of production of aluminium market.
2.Bargaining power of customers:
There are four vital companies who play a very important role in the metal industry and these are
Anheuser Busch companies, Pepsico, Coca cola enterprise and Coca cola company. These
companies could have a great bargaining power over can companies while having multimple
suppliers and being able to switch suppliers which gave the companies more flexibility to choose
from if there was any issue with the price, quality or service.
3.Barriers to entry:
In this case some big companies dominate the whole industry and as a result the small companies

How Did The Cabaret Influence The Civil Rights Movement
The social issues of 1960 s America allowed open homosexuality for the usage as mass
entertainment, although the initial screening of the musical Cabaret did not quite dare to openly
use homosexual characters and themes, having only joking mentions and subtle themes to
reference, such as the song Two Ladies where in the Emcee dances with two women, singing of
sharing a bed. The initial screening of the musical came before the sexual revolution of
homosexualitytook place, just three years before the Stonewall riots of 1969. However, Cabaret
did use the reclaiming of past culture, such as 1930 s Berlin, in order to comment on the present
circumstances of the 1960 s Civil Rights Movement in America, and how much these two eras had

Homosexuality had become increasingly accepted in many forms, and had survived the AIDS crisis
that had so began with decimating its population. The main character Cliff would have more of a

his clear attract[ion] to men. The musical itself also demonstrated a much more overt sexuality;
with the Emcee, played by Alan Cumming, displaying sexual exhibitionism with groping other
actors, himself, and using pelvic thrusts and groin movement[s] to radicalize the musical even
further to create an atmosphere that suited their present context and drew the audience into the

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Plea Bargaining
Plea bargaining is when the prosecutor and defendant make an arrangement in which the
defendant pleads guilty to a lesser charge. In hopes with the Judge being lenient with their
sentence. Many criminal cases are based off of plea bargaining, it s a negotiation process where
the defendant and the prosecutor discuss what charges they will be accounted for if not all.
Sometimes it may lead to a reduced sentence, which also saves the time of everyone going through
a trial and having to go through the process of trying to solve a case. The judgecan not be there
through the discussion of the pleabargain, and nor does a plea bargain take place in a court room.
Plea bargaining is more of a private situation with just the prosecutor and defendant. It also has it s
advantages and disadvantages. Most times plea bargaining becomes controversial, and It does get
heated because no one wants to sit in prison. A crimeis a crime and the person who commits the
crime has to face the consequences of his/her actions. Plea Bargaining just makes things a little
more less complicated then what it needs to be for a defendant and the prosecutor.
As mentioned earlier, plea bargaining has it s advantages and disadvantages. The most obvious
advantage would be receiving a shorter sentence, and less chargers on ones record. A disadvantage
would be that either way you still have to do time in prison. Accepting a plea bargain is not easy at
all, everything will depend on things such as your criminal

Techniques Used to Direct Two Film Versions of William...
Techniques Used to Direct Two Film Versions of William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet Having
watched two different film adaptations of Romeo and Juliet , it is clear to see that the two directors,
Baz Luhrmann and Franco Zeffirelli, have used a number of different techniques, quite differently
at times, to put across their particular interpretations of the play. These methods and different
interpretations are very obvious if you should study the same scene as portrayed in each film. We
looked at the introduction and the opening scene of each film to compare the differences between
them and found that the differences, though some were more subtle than others, were obvious.

In the opening scene of the films, both versions use extremely different techniques to portray the
introduction of the play. Luhrmann, again, uses modernisation and starts the film with a news
reporter on a television slowly moving closer to the viewer. Along with the plain black
background and no music, this gives a very dramatic effect to the start of the film which will get
the viewer instantly interested in the rest of the film. Once the television has reached the front
of the screen and the news reporter has finished the introduction, the scene immediately changes
to a fast and furious collection of clips from modern USA. These clips of chaos, terror and
destruction can be used to hint the coming emotions of the film but also to draw the viewer s
attention to the film. In my opinion it is Luhrmann s way of showing that if Shakespeare had
written Romeo and Juliet in the present day, this is the type of chaos that the Capulet and
Montague families could cause, a modern twist to the play. As well as the images filmed, the
camera effects, editing and dramatic music also add up to make the scene as chaotic as possible.
The fast zooming, panning and freeze frames give the effect of a disordered scene which also
makes the viewer feel as though they are a part

Why Is It Important To Take A Class Rank
Class rank is a common award for many high school students in America. Many students take
these class ranks very seriously, and want nothing more by the end of their high school career
then to be high up in their class rank. Schools use this rank to reward students in their schools. In
Green, for example, we honor these Top 25 students with a reward, and a nice dinner banquet. Yet
with these expectations to get into that Top 25 of your class, or trying to get the Valedictorian or
Salutatorian award, comes with a tremendous amount of stress, competition between you and your
peers, manipulation of your schedule, and pressure that gets thrown on you by yourself and your
family. Striving to become part of that elite group of students in Top 25 leads to a ton of stress and
more pressure than most high schoolstudents can handle. Students stress themselves out over every

How Did Christianity Change Over Time
Throughout the first three centuries, Christianity faced persecution from the Roman Empire. The
Roman Empire was one of the most powerful and influential empires in history. Nations under the
control of the Rome, associated themselves with Roman traditions. Even during the split of the
Roman Empire under, persecution remained and old traditions still dominated the areas of the
Roman Empire. Constantine, one of the Caesar s sons from the Tetrarchy, would go on to become
emperor of Rome and challenge old beliefs. Under the rule of Constantine, he implemented a series
of reforms such as the edict of Milan, Nicene Creed and changes in the culture of Rome, which
shifted the empire paganism ideology toward a Christian one. Christianityduring the reigns of
Diocletian, Galerius, etc were not allowed to worship freely. Christianity was a young religion and

The Leadership Of The Liberal Democratic Party Of Japan
Introduction
While it is a parliamentary democracy, Japan, through 1955 to 1993, maintained a government
led by one party. The leadership of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) closely
resembles a single party dictatorship, as in Japan s geographically close neighbor, China. In fact,
the political situation in Japan was referred to by Chalmers Johnson as soft authoritarianism
(quoted in Lim 2014, p.46). However, unlike China, all of Japan s lawmakers were democratically
elected to the National Diet. Under such a system, LDP managed to dominate the Japanese
parliament for 38 years. During the 1960s and 1970s, Japan experienced rapid economic
development, known as the economic miracle, while LDP was continuously in leadership. ... Show

The nation as a whole seemed to be focused on economic recovery from the ravishes of war, and
achieving annual goals of economic growth, which is well reflected in their savings rate of over
20% during this era (Kim 2009). LDP s utmost task was to respond to such a national trend with
satisfying economic results in order to maintain the party s dominance in the Diet. The 1955
System In post World War II Japan, elected legislators were on a mission to revitalize Japan s war
ravaged economy. With the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, demand for production of
military equipment skyrocketed, which ignited an early manufacturing boom in Japan. The US,
which had already been aiding Japan, allowed Japan to assume a role as a major site of
manufacturing for the military equipment it required for its war efforts in East Asia. In turn,
Japanese exports increased by 26% (Carpenter 2015, p.47). Even after the Korean War ended, the
US continued to give its demand for military equipments to Japan, to the extent that it had spent
$7.2 billion in offshore procurements and other military expenditures in Japan (Lim 2014, p.71). It
was tremendously important for Japan s relationship with the US to remain intact, as it played an
essential role in Japan s economic growth, and enabled Japan to reestablish its regional economic
dominance (Lim 2014, p.71). For this reason, businesses in Japan, which had been enjoying such an

WHALES
Marine biology is the scientific study of aquatic organisms, their characteristics and behaviors
[1]. Even though everyone on the planet is aware of the fact that about 70 percent of the Earth s
surface is covered with water, it is believed that only 5 to 10 percent of the oceans have been
explored yet [1]. There are hundreds of thousands of marine creatures that can be found underwater
with unique features. Ocean life is very diverse and is categorized into different groups, such as
sharks, mammals, reptiles etc. Of them, whales fall into the category of mammals and are
considered as one of the most magnificent and amazing creatures that have ever lived in the sea. In

The most common of these is the blue whale. Being the largest animal on the Earth, blue whale
has a length of around 100 feet and weighs around 150 tons [3]. Their tongue alone can weigh as

light spots on it. They usually swim with the speed of 5 miles per hour, but can make it up to 30
miles per hour when required. They sleep while sleeping and at this time they use only half of
their brain [3]. Examples of toothed whales include the sperm whale, killer whale, bottlenose
whale, and other species of dolphins. Of these, the most common is killer whale. Killer whales are
considered as the biggest dolphin on the planet as they measure up to 26 feet. They are highly

Brave New World was published in 1932. Aldous Huxley also wrote the books Visions, Books
and Thoughts, Crome Yellow, Darkness, and Doors of the Temple. Most of the novels written by
Aldous Huxley are classified as dystopian. Dystopian novels are novels that describe an imaginary
society that is as dehumanizing and as unpleasant as possible. Atlas Shrugged is written by Ayn

Success Rates of the Re-establishment of the Fynbos in the...
Introduction
The Tokai forest is currently under rehabilitation for the re establishment of fynbos after the
commercial pine had been planted there 11 years to 23 years ago. The commercial pine was
originally planted in the Tokai for commercial and industrial reasons, such as to make paper or
wood for fire. On top of affecting the natural fynbos vegetation the pine was also jeopardizing the
surrounding environment by starving the other plant life of the natural water resources. The cutting
of the commercial pine is aiming to re establish the indigenous Cape Flats Sand Fynbos, that is
naturally found in the Tokai vegetation.

Background of commercial pine clearings:
The clearings began in April 2005 where they started to cut down the Cecilia pines, type of pine
tree in Tokai. (http://www.sanparks.co.za/parks/table_mountain/environment/tokai.php) This pine
was for commercial use meaning it was always intended to be harvested for industrial uses, such
making of paper. These pines were originally planted in 1885 and were fist harvested in 1920,
where more of the same pine was planted 10 years after.
Reasons for cutting the pines:
The Cecilia pines were originally planted for industrial use, meaning that it was always going to
be used as fire wood or turned to paper. It is also important to remember that the pines were an
alien plant, preventing the indigenous fynbos to grow. The Cecilia pine specifically is as pine
tree that consumes large sums water, restraining the other indigenous plants from a water source
in the forest. By removing the pines water levels in local dams, streams and rivers should
increase vastly. The pine tree is a very good heat and fire conductor, however their fire risk
potential is increased by every specific pine needle on the forest bed. (http:/
/www.waterrhapsody.co.za/2011/03/16/the cutting of pine trees in cecelia forest/) This creates a
risk to neighboring forests and civilizations near by these pines because of the quickes rates these

Universal Medical Codes
In the health care system, there are a lot of codes that help diagnose, treat, and discharge patients
daily. Codes help nurses
especially make reports faster along with making them easier to read for individuals within the HIS
department. For a universal set of

an individual that was out of town, got
injured and then wanted your care while you were out of town to be documented through medical
records. Medical records at the town
you were in uses a list of codes that are not accepted by the CPT manual. So now, when your

Why is a universal code manual supposed to be used around the world? Simple, so your care is
properly documented and can be billed to you in the correct manner. Also, another use for medical
codes is to protect yourself from false

everything else follow correctly, you would be
covered if your documents got tested by someone higher than you or another hospital perhaps. Good
documentation provides a safety
net because it shows exactly what patient care you actually provided. If there is any scrutiny, you

Global Airline Industry Essay
The airline industry has seen drastic changes since September 11, 2001. The government
ordered a complete shutdown for three days of not only all commercial aircraft but such carriers
as domestic flights and emergency aircraft. For days after September 11th, all aircraft stayed on
the ground. Even military aircraft had to receive special clearance to fly. In a ripple effect, the
entire economy of the United States and the world was put on hold. The New York Stock

Because of their cheaper fares, the larger airlines are forced to hold down the cost of their flights
in order to still attract customers. Of course when a smaller regional carrier does not service a
destination that one of the larger carriers does, then any potential cost savings is lost. Another
point worth noting is that several of these regional carriers are subsidiaries of a larger airline.
After September 11th, passenger traffic dropped off severely, causing the airlines to cut flights,
layoff workers and park surplus aircraft (College Grad, n.d.). Conditions are favorable for a turn
around in passenger traffic. With the ever expanding world economy, business travel has
become more necessary. One area that is not expected to grow is the domestic cargo segment in
comparison to international cargo flights. Airlines need to examine the destinations where they
fly. If one of the destinations becomes unpopular, then the airline will need to make adjustments
or profits will suffer. A good example would be back in the late 50 s where one of airlines main
destinations would have been Cuba. Some of the ways costs are figured in the airline industry
are as follows: available seat miles, revenue passenger miles, load factor, and revenue per
available seat miles. The available seat miles calculation is the number of seats available multiplied
by the number of miles flown (Wikipedia, 2007). The revenue passenger miles calculation is the

The Israeli Palestinian Conflict Of Palestine Essay
115,000 is the total estimated number of civilians, armed forces, and others involved killed since
the start of the Israeli Palestinian conflict in the late 19th century. Throughout the past several
decades the Israeli Zionists and Palestinian natives have fought over a section of land in the
Middle East for recognition as an independent or bi national country. This has led to a war in
which a peaceful solution, and not just managing the problem but attempting to end the problem is
paramount. The history of the Israeli Palestinian conflict begins around 1880 whenever the
original Zionist movement, creation of a homeland for Jews in Palestine, was first formed and
thousands of Jews migrated to the then Ottoman Empire occupied Palestine. At the end of World
War I, in 1918, the British controlled the Palestine area and encouraged Jewish migration to the
newly British mandated Palestine. Throughout the following years, up to 1939, violent riots or
revolts, depending on who was describing them, would break out killing many. After World War II
ended, and the United Nations was formed, in 1947 the U.N. gathered the General Assembly to
attempt to solve the problems in Palestine creating two separate states, one for Jews and another
for Arabs. War breaks out as the nearby Arab states reject the plan. When the war ended 700,000
Palestinians fled, Jordan controlled the West Bankand east Jerusalem, and Egypt controlled the
Gaza Strip(Shikhmanter).

Human Interaction with Nature in the Works of Aldo Leopold and Elizabeth Bishop
The poet Elizabeth Bishop and the naturalist Aldo Leopold share a keen power of observation, a
beautifully detailed manner of writing, a love for the beauty of nature, and an interest in how
people interact with the natural world. Like Leopold, Bishop examines human interactions with
nature on both the personal and the ecological level. On the individual level, a hunter s contact with

For both narrators, this lack of emotional connection changes when they notice some striking
detail about the wolf or fish which awakens them to the symbolic value of the animal and
transforms their way of relating to nature. Leopold sees a fierce green fire dying (130) in the
eyes of the wolf and senses that his neat equation of fewer wolves equals more deer is
inadequate, and that wolves have an importance unknown to him. He goes on to develop a new
conservation ethic, one that values wolves as well as deer and protects wild animals for their
own sake and that of the ecosystem, not just for the pleasure of hunters. Bishop s speaker notices
five fishhooks dangling from the fish s mouth and realizes how many times the fish has battled for
its life and won. Its fighting spirit earns her respect and causes her to release the fish.
The particular symbolic value that each writer finds in the wild animal is evident in his or her
beautifully poetic descriptions of the animal. Each admires the animal for its undaunted courage
in the face of a harsh existence. Bishop repeatedly uses words and images which personify the fish
as a wise old warrior: the fish is battered and venerable

The most immense reason teens start utilizing these drugs is because their friends were pressured

The comparison of myths is primarily essential for understanding of culture historical areal of the

The Negative Effects Of Special Education In Schools
In the last 15 years, arts education programs have been under constant threat. Some blame this on
the No Child Left Behind law, passed in 2001, that placed focus on core subjects such as math or
language. Others point to the steady education budget cuts by each state. Whatever the cause,
cutting arts educationclasses affects every student but special educationstudents are the ones most
impacted. While it is well known that cutting these programs can have negative effects; some of
which are lower test scores, lower attendance rates, and higher disciplinary rates. What is less
known is the many ways the artsplay an important role in special education. Weather its intergrated
as part of classroom curriculum or taught separately it builds confidence, helps integrate them with
typically developing peers, enhances communication, and builds problem solving skills. All of this
in an environment that is the only place (in school) where uniqueness and individuality are

The No Child Left Behind Act was intended to create equitable educational opportunities for all
students, and close achievement gaps among different groups of students (Spohn 3). Under this act,
schools would receive federal funding if their students tested proficient in math and reading. Their
test scores must also show adequate yearly progress. With such importance being placed on the

Of Mice And Men Book Vs Movie Essay
In the movie, Of Mice and Men the scene in Weed was a lot different than the one explained in

director probably chose to start the story on a train for many reasons. First, it is pretty much a
good way to start a movie. The director also might have done this because he wanted to show that
they were leaving Weed. The director is telling us that George s life, has a lot of trains and

scenes add more of the loneliness factor that I have noticed throughout the book and the movie. I
think they show the audience how desperate and lonely she is to talk to someone. I had different
emotions throughout the book and movie. I One was that Lennie was useless in the beginning of
the book and movie.. Another emotion that I had was towards George. I thought he was just
bossing around Lennie and trying to make fun of him like when he told Lennie to jump in a river,
he jumps and forgets after George saves him. But, then he I guess saw that George killed Lennie
out of love so he won t suffer

India And The International Trade
1.1Background
Since gaining liberalization, India has been active in international trade, and is today one of the
major trading nations in the world. The Indian economy has been highly dependent on external
trade; presently, India s major trading partners were China, United Arab Emirates, United States,
Saudi Arabia Switzerland, Singapore and Germany.
As a shining, modern, and well developing country, India has been actively promoting trade
expansion and enhancement with all the European countries especially with Germany. In view of
this, India has been actively promoting bilateral trade to achieve this target by implementing
different strategy. One of them is by expanding trade relation with the European countries.

To date, the EU is India s largest trading partner, accounting for 20% of Indian trade. However
India accounts for only 1.8% of the EU s trade and attracts only 0.3% of European Foreign Direct
Investment, although still provides India s largest source for India (Bilateral Trade, n.d.).
Trade between the two has more than doubled from 25.6 billion euros ($36.7 billion) in 2000 to
55.6 billion euros in 2007, with further expansion to be seen (Bulls Eye, n.d.). According to a report
in 2010, India, at that time, was the eighth largest trading partner of the European Union, behind
China and Russia (India EU Relations, 2012).
Given the fact that India is in the process of facilitating the international trade with all over the
world. European and Asian countries seems to be the potential partners for trade exchange. At the
same time, several companies and organizations have been established in India over the last ten
years which have created more opportunities for both European and Indian companies to run their
business in the region. Furthermore, Germany trading policy also brings a good opportunity to
Indian economy and for the Indian export trading companies. As the trade relations between these
two countries are increasing, it will helpful to the Indian economy and its overall development and
growth. India shares their experiences and also can learn from Germany and become expertise in
bilateral trades. Besides that, trade

Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Cold Essay
Author Pierre Choderlos writes, revenge is a dish best served cold. This quote is renown for its
popularity across the centuries, often used as a proverbial description of the idea of revenge.
Vengeance itself is a popular issue of morality, discussed and portrayed in a multitude of manners
throughout literature, film, and live theater. Two playwrights that tackle the matter of revenge are
Zeami Motokiyo and the famous William Shakespeare. Motokiyo s play Astumori takes quite an
artistic approach to the idea, telling a one act play from the perspective of a samurai who is
feeling guilty for killing a young opponent on the field of battle. He seeks cleansing for his guilty
soul, putting him, potentially, on the receiving end of revenge. Shakespeare, on the other hand,
takes a more traditional approach to the idea of vengeance in a number of his tragedies, including
Hamlet. The ghost of Hamlet s father urges his son to avenge his death by murdering his
traitorous uncle Claudius. Both of these works exemplify a different aspect of the controversial
matter of revenge. However, Astumori shows the audience that there are alternatives to revenge,
while Hamlet reveals that revenge comes with a price. Essentially, both plays reach the same
conclusion: revenge will not bring satisfaction. Millicent Bell, in her article Hamlet, Revenge,
discusses the use of revenge in Shakespeare s famous work, labeling it a revenge tragedy (311). She
writes, Shakespeare s Hamlet has all the

High School Dropouts Essay
High School Dropouts
Entering high school is the beginning of a whole new learning experience. Transitioning from
middle school, high school presents more classes, students, and a bigger campus. It brings new
expectations and responsibilities to each of us. High school also offers fresh chances to make
new friends, try new sports and activities, and really explore who we are as individuals. The goal
is to maintain good grades, score high on the SAT test, and keep a positive attitude so colleges
and universities will accept you. Of course it s not as easy at sounds, but it s achievable. It
requires a lot of work and dedication to every subject. Some students breeze their way through
while others live in misery trying to pass their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Studies have also found that dropping out is more likely to occur among students from single
parent families and students with an older sibling who has already dropped out than among
counterparts without these characteristics. Other aspects of a student s home life such as level of
parental involvement and support, parent s educational expectations, parent s attitudes about
school, and stability of the family environment can also influence a youth s decision to stay in
school. For example, results from the NCES study found that students whose parents were not
actively involved in the student s school, whose parents infrequently talked to them about school
related matters, or whose parents held low expectations for their child s future educational
achievement were more likely to drop out.
Another reason why a lot of students drop out of school is simply because they don t like it. High
school, through its control over many decisions that are made for students, still seems to be
restrictive. Many aspects of a student s life are pre set and cannot be changed by the student to
fit his needs. For example, a student s time schedule is set every year. Every student must go the
same amount of hours every year. In most cases, school is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day,
whether he or she actually needs all the time or not. Students have to spend more time in some
filler classes that they think they probably did not need to take but still had

Essay about Ray Charles
Ray Charles
Ray Charles was a revolutionary pianist and a soul singer who helped shape the sound of rhythm
and blues. He brought a soulful sound to everything from country music to pop standards to God
Bless America. His birth name was Ray Charles Robinson, but he shortened it when he entered
show business to avoid confusion with the famous boxer Sugar Ray Robinson. I chose Ray Charles
as the topic for my paper after seeing the movie Ray. After viewing this film I realized that there
was a lot of interesting information about Ray Charles that I had never heard about. Therefore, the
focus of my paper is to learn who Ray Charles really was and to discuss his life and achievements.
The Early Years Ray Charles was born in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time he started recording and achieved his first hit song in 1951. The song was
titled Baby, Let Me Hold Your Hand. When Charles first began singing many felt as though his
sound and piano playing resembled those of Nat King Cole and Charles Brown. Ray was quoted
saying, When I started to sing like myself as opposed to imitating Nat Cole, which I had done for
a while when I started singing like Ray Charles, it had this spiritual and churchy, this religious or
gospel sound. It had this holiness and preachy tone to it. It was very controversial. I got a lot of
criticism for it. (San Jose Mercury News, 1994) Charles soon became more innovative when he
realized that his first recordings were only skillful imitations of his heroes. After joining Atlantic
Records, Charles s sound became more and more original and found breaking. He took many
tunes from gospel music and put them to secular lyrics performed in front of a jazz lineup playing
R B with exceptionally tight arrangements. He sometimes even added a country music feel to
some of his arrangements for example in his version of Hank Snow s I m Moving On.
The Middle Years Do it right or don t do it at all. That comes from my mom. If there s something
I want to do, I m one of those people that won t be satisfied until I get it done. If I m trying to sing
something and I can t get it, I m going to keep at it until I get it where I want it.

The, Snail Fever, And Katayama Fever
1. Describe the causative agent
Schistosomiasis have three different names and these are bilharzia, snail fever, and Katayama
fever (Mawyer, 2013). It is a disease caused by parasites, meaning they live off the living host to
survive. Examples of parasitic organism are viruses, protozoa, and helminthes. They are flatworm or
fluke, known as Schistosomes and they cause Schistosomiasis disease. Schistosoma is the spices
name and Trematoda is the class that the organism falls under. Helminthes is the group or family
of Schistosoma ((Keas, 1999). These organisms are facultative anaerobic, and they have the
ability to move around in water and in the host bloodstream. They reproduce sexually and
asexually depending on the stage of development; they are intracellular parasites at the mature
stage. They live in water in the immature state. Schistosomes are flatworm and are different from
other worms because they compose of the female and the male worm. The adult female worm is
longer (1.5 2cm) than the male worm (1 1.5cm). The female worm produces several hundreds of
eggs daily to enhance its survival rate. An adult life span of a Schistosome can go up to 5 to 10
years, so you can image how dangerous this infection is (Ferrara, 2010).
This organism is eukaryotic, because they are multi celled organisms. They are symmetric on
lateral sides; meaning if you were looking at the right side of a flatworm you will see that both the
right and left sides are the same. They have a

The Brown Auto Company Essay
The Brown Auto Company At the Brown Auto Company, the two partners divided the
operational responsibilities. Robert performed the duties of the primary salesman and the chief
mechanic whereas his brother, Harry, more commonly called Skin, ran the office. The Ford
Motor Company shipped each Model T, colloquially nicknamed the Tin Lizzie, into Bradley on
the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul Railroad only partially assembled. Since the body, frame,
engine, wheels, doors, and windows, each came as parts; the brothers completed the assembly
on the rail siding before driving them to the garage. The Brown Auto Company, which used
Bradley s Fourth of July parade to advertise their product, on at least one occasion, obtained
assistance from Robert s multi talented wife, Bessie, for the design and construction of a float.
Using Ford s colors, Bessie decorated the float, which featured a Model T on a flatbed truck, by
sewing many strips of crГЄpe together to create a huge blue and white hoop skirt around the car.
The float prominently displayed Ford s motto, Henry s Made a Lady out of Lizzie. Selling cars
sometimes required overcoming unique challenges. The owner of Carson s Ranch, Lloyd Carson,
held a contest to determine if he would buy a Ford or a Chevrolet. A Model T from the Brown
Auto Company driven by Robert Brown competed against a Chevrolet from a dealership in
Watertown, South Dakota. Mr. Carson had a long driveway that went around a slough before it

The Progressive Era Was A Political Movement
The Progressive Era was a political movement aimed towards eliminating the influence and
corruption of corporations in politics, and making the California government more of a
democracy. This took place at the beginning of the 20th century and started in the local
government of big cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles. At this time corporations held
monopolies and these corporations, due to their size and power, were able to control much of the
economic policy of the time. James Madison, a federalist and writer of Federalist #10, believed
that humans were too ignorant and/or too selfish to govern themselves. The Progressives worked to
shift the power with political reforms such as nonpartisanship, office block ballots, primary... Show

In fact, Of more than 19,000 elected public officials in California, less than 300 are elected in
partisan races. From this one can conclude that, the Progressive Movement was a huge influence on
California government and politics. Madison would have been against this because he believed that
humans would choose a candidate that only helps themselves, instead of common wealth. Another
reform made during the Progressive Era was primary elections. Primary elections are elections held
to elect candidates to run for office. In a primary election a party nominee must receive more votes
than the other nominees in that party. These types of elections are also used to select
presidential candidates. Before primary elections political parties chose candidates during
caucuses. Madison would have preferred caucuses because politicians are aware of what goes
on where as citizens may not be as informed in politics. This reform gave voters more say in who
they wanted in office and, again, gave less power to the political corporations who could drive a
certain politician s or party s campaign and get who they wanted elected into office. The
Progressives wanted more power in the hands of the people. The Progressives gave voters the
power of direct democracy through initiatives, referendums and recalls. Initiatives are citizen made
proposals and amendments that can be put on ballots during elections; they are the most frequently

Kurt Cobain s Suicide
Kurt Cobain was dead at his home on April 8th, 1994, with a shotgun on his chest, drugs at his
side, and a note for his fans. The scene and the events prior could lead people to come up with
many reasons. Some may say that Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain, or that someone broke into
his home and murdered him, but crimescene evidence shows that Cobain committed suicideafter
barricading himself in his greenhouse, and the events leading up to his death confirm it.
Cobain was taken from home due to a possible suicide attempt days prior, in which he locked
himself in his closet with his guns and some medication. A few days later he had his friend buy him
a new shotgun, claiming it was for intruders. It was the same shotgun he killed himself with.

Analysis Of The Poem The Selkie Cave
The Selkie swam into his undersea cave that contained his human clothing. Last evening he d
had a vision he would find his life mate in the area above the sea caves. He needed to find her as
his vision was too strong to disregard. She was a well built sturdy young Scot lass with sparkling
green eyes and long dark auburn hair which flowed to her waist. He had seen her in his dream,
dancing at the local Highland Gathering. The young woman in his dreams was Mackenzie
Sutherlands destiny. He strode into the clan gathering, he noticed her dancing a Highland Fling
with her kilt and hair whipping around her tight young body. Her smile flashed as she moved to
the intricate steps of her dance. Her cheeks flushed and her eyes blazed with a heat which drew
him like a moth to a flame. Around and around she swirled and kicked to the music of the
bagpipes. As she spun around, he could see her beautiful long legs and the sweet curve of her
rounded bottom. Her waist, he realized he could circle with his hands. Her bust was full and
appeared to be a plump handful. Her complexion was pale as peaches he d read about in books
from her world. While he enjoyed her dance, passion heated his blood, and Mackenzie
recognized she was the young woman from his dream. Skye loved the dancing and the way she
felt as the men s eyes remained on her. In her young girl s mind, she understood the power she held
over them. She viewed the young dark haired stranger who watched her with a

Costco First Of The Warehouse Club Industry Essay
Costco first opened in 1976 as Price Club. At the time, it was located in a converted airplane
hangar in San Diego, California, servicing small businesses. Soon, it realized that opening its
doors to non business members would result in far better sales. Thus, the birth of the warehouse
club industry came to light. In 1983, the first Costco warehouse location opened up in Kirkland,
Washington, near Seattle. It quickly became the first company to ever grow to $3 billion in
sales in under six years. Once it merged with Price Club in 1993, becoming PriceCostco, there
were 206 locations with $16 billion in annual sales. In 1997 it resumed the Costco name, and in
recent years has reached a total of $64 billion in sales each year. As the company continues to
evolve, it still stays true to its attractive qualities that have earned millions of loyal customers
around the world. They have a commitment to quality. By only carrying 4000 stocked units in the
warehouse, compared to 30,000 at your local super market, it can carefully choose its products.

Loughton Brook Essay
In this Geography GCSE controlled assessment project, I will be focusing on rivers and I have
chosen a hypothesis to prove that erosion is making an impact on the Loughton Brook Rivers.
My hypothesis is, The river Loughton brook becomes wider and deeper due to erosion as it
moves downstream . I will be investigating if erosion takes place downstream in the river. I will
investigate if hydraulic action has an impact. I will study about vertical erosion, lateral erosion,
Cross profile and hydraulic action. The geography field trip we are going to is called Loughton
Brook which is located in Epping Forest. Epping Forest is the hugest public forest in London. It is
almost 6000 acres and has an area of about 12 miles. Two thirds of Epping... Show more content on

In site one there was a high proportion of very unspherical rocks. According to this the
hypothesis is right, in site two there is a lot more smother rocks medium sized and in site 3 there
are very small pebbles which are very smooth and spherical. The pebbles get smoother and
rounder while it goes downstream. Due to us only taking about 10 rocks our result may have
been not right as there were some pebbles which were largely over sized. Most of the other load
is dissolved by solution such as limestone and chalk Gradient The gradient in site 1 was 0, in site
2 it was 3 and in site 3 was 4. The hypothesis for this was the river gets steeper as you go
downwards as the gradient decreases. My measurement is correct based on facts and my theory.
Conclusion The results shows us that the hypothesis between the river Loughton brook and the
erosion shows that it gets wider and deeper due to many reasons such as vertical erosion, lateral
erosion, hydraulic action and abrasion of rocks. Water width and depth increase downstream more
erosion through increased water volumes. Velocity increases downstream due to greater energy
levels of higher volumes. Gradient decreases due to slower rate of depth increase downstream.
Long axis of pebbles decrease downstream, eroded in transportation process. Strengths of methods

The Magic Of The Surreal Dubai
The magic of the surreal Dubai
Dubai is a giant Disneyland, where everything is based on the law of supply and demand, and life
is artificial; the main destination on Tourists map and one of the main cities of the United Arab
Emirates, most of the time, wrongly assumed as a capital of the country. Dubai attracts with
inadequate amount of entertainments, and ability to earn and live a better life. In the past four
decades the United Arab Emirates developed with the speed that takes other countries centuries.
Although proud Arab people trying not to think about past, when the British assumed all

of colonized under British Empire. Emiratis admire western expatriates and this is no secret that
with the support of the British (or American) citizenship the attitude is changing to better, and

Until now, this approach has justified itself: in just 43 years of existence of the United Arab
Emirates have become the country with a developed economy and infrastructure. And the Dubai
from small villages, hunted pearling and fish became a city fairy tale, the richness of which legends.
Legends of the lot. It should be noted that many of them have been confirmed in reality. But,

How Did Alexander The Great Impact Greek Culture
The Impact of Greek culture during the Hellenistic period. The definition of Hellenistic is
imitating Greece. The Hellenistic Period is known as the Time after Alexander the great spread
Greek culture to the eastern region and blended with the native culture. The Name Alexander
the great is derived from the great amount of accomplishments and military dominance that he
displayed during his life. However, some historians describe him as more of a ruthless warlord.
Those who see Alexander as aspiring autocratic monarchy present a very different portrait of him
as a ruthless Machiavellian. One has titled his biography Alexander the Great Failure.
(Spielvogel 94) Alexander s Father was king Phillip II who ruled Macedonia and after being a
prisoner in Thebes developed an understanding and admiration for Greek military and tactics.
Once he was able to return to Macedonia he quickly developed a standing army from the
strongest men his country had to offer. It was with this powerful army that he was able to
conquer Greece and take control of the entire Greek peninsula. Once Alexander was 20 his father
was assassinated and he had to quickly take power and establish, he did this by conquering the city
of Thebes where a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Weaknesses Of The Greenhouse Gas Theory
The Weaknesses of the Greenhouse Gas Theory
Greenhouses are used to grow crops such as tomatoes and lettuce under controlled conditions.
Greenhouses consist of a framed building with transparent covering. Sunlight penetrates through the
transparent covering to get to the plants inside. The plants and the soil absorb the sunlight and
radiate some of the absorbed energy as heat.
Quite often, greenhouses ventilate either through controlled openings or by fanning air around. The
ventilation is necessary to avoid the build up of water vapor and to ensure that too much heat doesn
t too negatively affect the plants. The key elements of the greenhouse are the outer shell that traps
the air inside, the trapped air, and controlled ventilation.

There are several weaknesses in the arguments supporting the greenhouse gas theory. These are
explained in the following sections.
Carbon dioxide is heavier than air. Carbon dioxide, deemed as the key offender in the greenhouse
theory, is heavier than air. This means that its highest concentrations are close to the ground in low
lying areas. Without the benefit of experiments to the prove the point, it can still be postulated that
the highest concentrations of carbon dioxide are within 1000 meters (3,500 feet) above sea level,
and concentrations will diminish as air climbs higher into the atmosphere. Incidentally, this is not
unusual. Oxygen is known to diminish with elevation as well.
Since carbon dioxide is most prevalent when close to ground level, it is unlikely that it would
absorb significant levels of outgoing, long wavelength radiation (heat) and hold enough of it to
influence global

Supply And Demand Factors Influencing The Physical Gold...
Introduction
Gold has been one of the valuable desires for the past thousands years. Its rarity, indestructibility
and malleability, enabled it to be the main interest to both, the individuals and businesses. As a
result of these properties, the exploration of gold has been of central significance .The intention of
this study is expand on many of the theories and notions concerning supply and demand factors
influencing the physical gold market.
The study of demand analysis is very essential for any entrepreneur because their main objective is
to maximise the profit with efficiently allocating the limited resources provided. The demand
analysis supports in enhancing output with systematically utilizing the resources as well as selling
the output for maximum profits (Chimoriya, 2015). It allows the entrepreneur to: forecast necessity
and sales, determine prices, decisions relating to profit.
To begin with, it will be very useful to look at the PEST Analysis where the gold market is
analysed from the 4 different points of view.
Political:
Government has a huge impact in the gold industry. It imposes royalties on gold mining, which
affects the competitiveness. Alongside, many policies set by the government restrict and control
the supply and demand for example hoarding and dishoarding the gold (Unknown, 2015). Firstly, in
order to encourage miners to mine more gold, the government hoards the gold. Secondly, when the
demand for gold increases

  • 3. Overview of the Research Process for Business Students What is Research? People undertake research in order to find things out in a systematic way, thereby increasing their knowledge (Jankowicz, 1995). Systematic suggests that research is based on logical relationships and not just beliefs (Ghauri and Gronhaug, 2010). To find things out suggests there are a multiplicity of possible purposes for your research (Becker, 1998). It is therefore an activity which has to be finished at some point to be of use. The results of research really are all around us in everyday life. Politicians often justify their policy decisions on the basis of research; Newspapers report the findings of research companies. Documentary programmes tell us about research findings and advertisers may highlight the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It has not been changed or altered by human beings therefore its validity is greater than secondary data however it is important to remember it can only be considered as reliable as the people who gathered it. Gathering data in this way is time consuming, and incurs a high cost. More resources tend to be required and it can result in inaccurate feedback. Secondary data is less valid but it is readily available and can be reused. It is cheaper and quicker to obtain in comparison to primary data. In some circumstances primary data does not exist and so one has to confine the research of secondary data. The Research Process Research is not neutral, but reflects a range of the researcher s personal interests, values, abilities, assumptions aims and ambitions. The research philosophy depends on the way you think about the development of knowledge (Saunders et al. 2000, p.84) Collis and Hussey (2003, p.52) highlight two main research philosophies and detail that there can be overlap between the two and both positions may be identifiable in any research project. They are the positivistic and phenomenological. Positivistic approaches are founded on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. King Of The Dirtbags And Wendell Berry s An Entrance To... The interconnection between the human race and nature is complex, and can be interpreted an infinite amount of ways. Mark Jenkins King of the Dirtbags and Wendell Berry s An Entrance to the Woods are both very similar in the ways they represent philosophical ideas regarding the relationship between the modern man and nature. Both literary pieces discuss the benefits of simplicity, and explain how mankind has a tendency to overcomplicate much of what they develop. The two authors also share the idea in their writings that the ability to adapt to different environments is a crucial trait in evolution and progression as a society. Another major concept that is prevalent in both of the author s pieces is that man must be able to reach beyond his comfort zone to understand nature s consistency throughout time. Both Berry and Jenkins express how important simplicity is in the journey of a life in close connection with nature, although they depict different mental images in their writings, they have the same meaning. In Jenkins writing he depicts Yvon Chouinard as a man who is very connected with his natural surroundings, describing him as a person who is constantly looking how to make things better, simpler, lighter and more environmentally friendly (575). It is made very clear from this quote that both Chouinard and Jenkins find simplicity an invaluable characteristic to not only helping nature, but being a part of it. Jenkins further develops this idea when he talks more about Chouinard s feelings: To him the ascent became more elegant each time something unnecessary was eliminated (578). Berry displays this mutual feeling as he describes his emotional state while alone in the wildernesswhen he states, The absence of humansociety, that made me so uneasy last night, now begins to be a comfort to me. I am afoot in the woods. I am alive in the world, this moment, without the help or the interference of any machine (726). In this brief excerpt from Berry s writing, he explains how the absence of a complex human society makes him feel more connected to his natural surroundings as he is at his simplest state, his most irreducible self (726). Adaption is another key to an unabridged relationship with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Contagion Of Contagion And Vaccines Contagion/Vaccines If I was to quarantine an individual in a Utilitarian system, I would have them placed into a room by themselves in a hospital. They would be provided with any sort of necessities. Family members would be allowed to come into their room to visit, as long as they were fully protected. The main concern would be to keep them away from other people so they do not spread the deadly disease, but still keep them content. This keeps the disease contained to the one personrather than spreading even further, benefiting the greater number. They may not leave the room until they have been treated or cleared by a doctor. If for some reason they did escape, threatening many others to become ill, they would have to pay a very large fine. If there was a nation needing to be quarantined under a Utilitarian system, I would let no individual cross state borders. The border of each state would have military men lining it. If they were to go against this and somehow sneak out of their state, they would face jail time in their near future. In the movie, Contagion, they did not let anyone leave the state, which caused riots and panic in the citizen s living there. To stop this from happening, I would have selective individuals from each town that had been cleared by a doctor, go out and work the stores, clean up the streets and try to keep the town as put together as possible. This would help make the situation more comforting than nerve wracking. If I was to quarantine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Racial Disparities In Education Racial disparities exist in every aspect of our society. It exists in religion, socioeconomic status, life chances, media, etc. It affects everyone even if they realize or not. Education is one of the things that are also affected by the racial stratification occurring in the United States. In this paper I will look in to whether Tennessee is better or worse for educational advancement by comparing four races and their high schoolgraduation rates on the national and state levels. The four races used will be; Asian, Black, Hispanic/Latino, and White. I will then tie specific theories to why these disparities may exist. This will hopefully give insight in to this touchy topic and provide a starting point for correcting the gap. The data collected from the NCES and Tennessee state report card provides empirical evidence that a racial gap does exist on the national and state levels. I provided the data in two forms a graph and a table. The graph shows that Whites and Asians are virtually almost the same on the state and national levels. The Blacks and Hispanic /Latinos are much lower than the others. The Table provides the exact percentage on graduation by racefor the state and national level. Asians had the highest graduation rate, followed by whites, then Hispanics and Latinos, and ending with Blacks. On the state Level there is a 12.2 percent difference between the groups with higher rates and those with lower. However, on the National level there is a 15 percent ... • 8. Bipolar Disorder ( Bipolar ) Essay Bipolar Disorder or manic depressive disorder is a disorder characterized by highs, manias, and lows, depressions, and can therefore be easily distinguished from unipolar depression, a major depressive disorder in DSM 5, by the presence of manic or hypomanic episodes (Miklowitz Gitlin, 2014). Bipolar disorder is generally an episodic, lifelong illness with a variable course (American Psychiatric Association, 2010). There are two classifications of bipolar disorder; bipolar I disorder and bipolar II disorder. If the episodes are primarily manic but there has been at least one depressive episode, the diagnosis is bipolar I disorder (Early, 2009). If the episodes are primarily depressed but there has been at least one episode of hypomania, increased mood that is more euphoric than normal but not quite manic, the diagnosis is bipolar II disorder (Early, 2009). A manic episode is characterized by an abnormality of mood that is euphoric, expansive, and elevated or irritable with increased energy, along with signs and symptoms such as inflated self esteem or grandiosity, decreased need for sleep. Pressure of speech or being extremely talkative, racing thoughts or flight of ideas, distractibility, an increase in goal directed behavior, agitation, poor judgment and impulsive decision making are more signs and symptoms of a manic episode. • 9. Punishment And Punishment In Education One of the basic human functions is to learn, whether it be a specific school subject or a behavior through observation. As one grows up, it is important to see how he or she was taught to treat people good, bad, honest, fair? How can violence be eliminated very early on in development? One form of learning is through punishment. Many times, punishment is used to inform a child or even an adult to not do a certain thing again while educating them on what is good or bad behavior considering the circumstance. Therefore, punishment is not only a teaching tool, but also a process that decreases the likelihood reoccurrence of a behavior (Hockenbury, S. E., Nolan, S. A, Hockenbury, D. H. 2015). As a young child, a punishment may have included taking away a desired toy or a treat that we wanted to obtain, such as going to the movies or getting McDonalds for dinner. It is easy to look back and reflect on past experiences of punishment that shaped us into who we are today. However, punishment is not simply a negative consequence of being a child; it can happen to people of all ages. For example, a punishment can be directed at adults who don t dress properly or arrive late to work. Punishment can be effective for all age groups because human beings are an imperfect species. It is never too late to improve one s behavior. Overall, the main purpose of punishment is to stop wrongdoings among all ages from happening repeatedly. • 10. Plastic Pollution Essay The Global Impact of Plastic Pollution Entering Marine Ecosystems Approximately, 280 million tons of plastic is produced year round around the globe (Sigler, 2014) which accounts for 8% of the worldwide manufacturing for oil (Vegter, et al., 2014). Plastics are a major component in most consumer products; the reason being is that plastic is inexpensive, lightweight, durable, and an excellent insulator. For this reason, plastic can be found in most items from: storage containers, packaging material, communication devices, and transportation. Unfortunately, 3.5 million pieces of plastic are estimated to enter the ocean shores daily; one third to a half of the garbage found in the ocean originate from the beverage industry (Cohen, 2015). This litter is a symptom of our throw away society and our approach on how we manage our natural resources (UN, 2011). Nearly one third of plastics that is generated are for single use items such as: floss, straws, stirrer, coffee lids, and disposable cutlery (Sigler, 2014). The presence of plastic debris will not only effect oceanic habitat and ecosystems but have an economic effect on anthropogenic activities such as tourism on beaches and fishing industry. Although many countries are eager to prevent and manage wastesurrounding their coastal waters; none are willing to take responsibility over the large accumulation of waste in ocean gyres, known as garbage patches, and for good reason. • 11. The Privatization Of Water Management With an ever growing population and more and more countries entering the developed world, the importance of water management has never been so great. In recent years, the participation of the private sector in water management has come into play, mainly driven by the long overdue capital improvements needed, a worldwide shrinking in public revenue, and a growing notion that private operators are more efficient than public. Though largely opposed by human rightsactivists, the privatization of water has benefits that far outweigh the cons. These private companies offer the water sector greater fiscal responsibility that will keep one of the most important elements on earth readily available for the long term future, as well as the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today water rights have become a very sophisticated problem with more aspects than simply providing water for everyone, but also with its impact on the environment. Most well developed countries have solved the majority of this problem with great water systems, but they do still need to maintain the system to accommodate the growing populations and changing climate. Also many of the new countries entering the developed industrial world lack this well established system and are struggling to develop water infrastructure at the same rate as the rising water demand. Unfortunately, both the developed and developing countries have a long way to go before the issues of water management can be considered solved in the long term scope. The strongest claim against the privatization of water comes from civil rights activists like the Public Citizen organization which views itself as the countervailing force to corporate power (Citizen). The Public Citizen was established in 1971 and has been lobbying against large corporations successfully for decades, and have been well documented in their fight against the privatization of water. Their largest argument points out the well known fact that corporations serve their stakeholders, and not the people. They are a money hungry beast that has no obligation to stand up for the little guy in tough times. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. One By Metallica Essay The lyrics of the song One by Metallica is a song about the mental state of one who is in a war. It starts off by describing how the narrator can t seem to tell whether or not what he is experiencing is reality or a nightmare. The lyrics state for God to wake him up from his nightmare. The lyrics of this song go back and forth from war to being fed with tubes and living on machines suggesting the narrator is seriously injured and is wanting to die and wake up from the nightmare he is in. I m sure a lot of people go through some sort of depression in their lives. Luckily, I could say that I didn t have severe depression like many others suffer from. However, I did struggle every day to stay sane. It was very hard to stay focused in school and to socialize with friends and family. Eventually, I did get past my depression. I realized one day how bad my depression had gotten and I started to become aware that I needed to change. While it may not have worked for a lot of people, I healed myself. I started to appreciate everything in life that we take for granted. Like waking up healthy and not having to worry about bombs or landmines like some do in countries like Syria. I started to understand that I have a better life than a huge chunk of others around the world. Being able to be born in a country like ours, experiencing the things I have experienced, I started to tell myself I have no excuse to be sad about anything, I did not have that right when so many others have so much worse than me. • 13. Comparing Orwell s Arguments On Politics And The English... The English language is not something that is complicated. It is just something that needs to be practiced to perfection. Over a long period of time, it has slowly become something that is hard for people to understand. It is just as difficult for people today as it would have been one hundred years ago. Orwell makes this extremely clear in Politics and the English Language. Even though this was written in 1946, there are many points and arguments that still have relevance today. One of his main arguments is that the reason that this language has had an extreme downfall is because of politics and economics. He argues that political language has become dull and somewhat useless. To clarify his argument, he uses writings from two professors and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This essay was written right around the corner away from World War Two, which was an event that I am sure was full of politics and economics. Orwell states that in his time, political writing was largely the defence of the defensible. He is saying that the wrong acts of politician writers can be defended, but only by the type of arguments that meet the same standards of their own. He goes on to illustrate his argument by using examples of dropping atom bombs on Japan and the continuance of British rule in India. Around this time in history in America when people saw this in the newspaper, they probably thought that it was all ok. Maybe this would be because nothing happened to their country. Or because the articles in the paper were written by the type of bad writers that Orwell expose in his essay. The articles were probably sugar coated with huge words to overlook the fact that people were struggling and being killed. Which means that the vagueness and euphemisms in these political writings are obvious. No one really wanted to straight up say that America killed at least 129,000 people when bombing japan. You can still see that this same problem occurs here in 2015. They will say that 200 citizens were killed in countries overseas by the Americans instead of saying that most of them were innocent people and possibly even children and babies that were murdered and we don t really care who they were. It s all about the way that the authors write their articles and how they want their audiences to feel. Just to make them think that bad things are acceptable. This is what I get from Orwell s essay. Not only does he want these so called politicians and their followers to write better but he also wants them to create a better society for people by not covering up these brutal ... • 14. Roles Within The Organization s Governance Model Introduction The Hospital Sisters Health Systems consist of four different divisions within two states and have a total of 13 hospitals, along with a large physician group. The organization was originally run by a group of nuns. However, the nuns have formed a board to oversee the governance of HSHS to ensure they continue to meet the high expectations and mission originally designed by the founding convent in 1875. As the hospital system has grown the governance board has also grown and now has several key members listed on its organizational chart. Each of the roles is essential in creating uniformed quality facilities throughout not only the divisions but the entire HSHS system. The governance board assists in many areas, including HIT decisions and upgrades. This paper will discuss the governance of HSHS, various roles within the organization s governance model, the HIT decision making process, and an example of HIT implementation within the HSHS EWD. Hospital Governance Sister Bernadine Gutowski is one of a few nuns that belong to the Third Order of St Francis. She works as a secretary within the Hospital Sisters Health Systems (HSHS) and recently discussed with me the history of our organization and the changes it has endured. • 15. Land In The Grapes Of Wrath John Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath is one of the most well know and important novels in American Literature. The Grapes of Wrath shows the economic hardship that the Dust Bowl brought to farmers on the Southern Plains. The Dust Bowl was caused by a drought and forced tenant farmers (farmers who occupy and farm land that is owned by someone else) to leave their land and head west in search for work. One of the most important themes of the novel is the great significance of land and its role in the lives of the tenant farmers. Many characters in the novel reveal their attachment to the land in Oklahoma and its dominating role in their lives. Steinbeck compares Grampa to a frantic, mischievous, and impatient child who, drank too much when he could get it, ate too much when it was there, talked too much all the time, (Steinbeck 78). The scene when Grampa races Granma provides a further glimpse into his vigorous persona and shows that he s not giving up anytime soon. The same applies to the remaining tenant farmers. The farmers are hopeful for rains to come and end the drought so that they can start planting again. The end of the drought would mark the end of their distress and the insurance that they could stay on their land. Like the Joads, many families stayed on the land for as long as possible hoping for an end to their turmoil. Many of the evicted families probably would have waited out the drought if it were not for the forced removal by the big landowners and companies. In hopes with the Judge being lenient with their sentence. Many criminal cases are based off of plea bargaining, it s a negotiation process where the defendant and the prosecutor discuss what charges they will be accounted for if not all. Sometimes it may lead to a reduced sentence, which also saves the time of everyone going through a trial and having to go through the process of trying to solve a case. The judgecan not be there through the discussion of the pleabargain, and nor does a plea bargain take place in a court room. Plea bargaining is more of a private situation with just the prosecutor and defendant. It also has it s advantages and disadvantages. Most times plea bargaining becomes controversial, and It does get heated because no one wants to sit in prison. A crimeis a crime and the person who commits the crime has to face the consequences of his/her actions. Plea Bargaining just makes things a little more less complicated then what it needs to be for a defendant and the prosecutor. As mentioned earlier, plea bargaining has it s advantages and disadvantages. The most obvious advantage would be receiving a shorter sentence, and less chargers on ones record. Techniques Used to Direct Two Film Versions of William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet Having watched two different film adaptations of Romeo and Juliet , it is clear to see that the two directors, Baz Luhrmann and Franco Zeffirelli, have used a number of different techniques, quite differently at times, to put across their particular interpretations of the play. These methods and different interpretations are very obvious if you should study the same scene as portrayed in each film. Luhrmann, again, uses modernisation and starts the film with a news reporter on a television slowly moving closer to the viewer. Along with the plain black background and no music, this gives a very dramatic effect to the start of the film which will get the viewer instantly interested in the rest of the film. Once the television has reached the front of the screen and the news reporter has finished the introduction, the scene immediately changes to a fast and furious collection of clips from modern USA. These clips of chaos, terror and destruction can be used to hint the coming emotions of the film but also to draw the viewer s attention to the film. In my opinion it is Luhrmann s way of showing that if Shakespeare had written Romeo and Juliet in the present day, this is the type of chaos that the Capulet and Montague families could cause, a modern twist to the play. As well as the images filmed, the camera effects, editing and dramatic music also add up to make the scene as chaotic as possible. Many students take these class ranks very seriously, and want nothing more by the end of their high school career then to be high up in their class rank. Schools use this rank to reward students in their schools. In Green, for example, we honor these Top 25 students with a reward, and a nice dinner banquet. The Israeli Palestinian Conflict Of Palestine Essay 115,000 is the total estimated number of civilians, armed forces, and others involved killed since the start of the Israeli Palestinian conflict in the late 19th century. Throughout the past several decades the Israeli Zionists and Palestinian natives have fought over a section of land in the Middle East for recognition as an independent or bi national country. This has led to a war in which a peaceful solution, and not just managing the problem but attempting to end the problem is paramount. The history of the Israeli Palestinian conflict begins around 1880 whenever the original Zionist movement, creation of a homeland for Jews in Palestine, was first formed and thousands of Jews migrated to the then Ottoman Empire occupied Palestine. At the end of World War I, in 1918, the British controlled the Palestine area and encouraged Jewish migration to the newly British mandated Palestine. • 37. The Negative Effects Of Special Education In Schools In the last 15 years, arts education programs have been under constant threat. Some blame this on the No Child Left Behind law, passed in 2001, that placed focus on core subjects such as math or language. Others point to the steady education budget cuts by each state. Whatever the cause, cutting arts educationclasses affects every student but special educationstudents are the ones most impacted. While it is well known that cutting these programs can have negative effects; some of which are lower test scores, lower attendance rates, and higher disciplinary rates. What is less known is the many ways the artsplay an important role in special education. Weather its intergrated as part of classroom curriculum or taught separately it builds confidence, helps integrate them with typically developing peers, enhances communication, and builds problem solving skills. All of this in an environment that is the only place (in school) where uniqueness and individuality are celebrated (Andrus 10). The No Child Left Behind Act was intended to create equitable educational opportunities for all students, and close achievement gaps among different groups of students (Spohn 3). Under this act, schools would receive federal funding if their students tested proficient in math and reading. Their test scores must also show adequate yearly progress. With such importance being placed on the often standardized test, some districts are extending instruction time for tested subjects. To make ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Equality In Early Generations In The United States Earlier generations who migrated from other countries that came to start a new life had many things to accomplish. At the start of the migration, people and settlers came for a new beginning and also a fresh start at life itself. With that tough task at hand, it also came with a price, such as equality, fighting for rights, the constant need for change and following a movement. During this essay I will be able to shed some light and point of views on equality on generations, political pressure, engaging in strikes and the division in social classes. In earlier generations, equality was not a topic that was very popular. If you were born into a poor family, chances are that you yourself were going to fall into that blood life for decades... They are also limiting us in giving us access to what was once considered public . The social classes are divided in this perspective, if you knew or know someone of power them you belonged and if you didn t, then in turn you were looked down upon as someone with no rights. In conclusion the equality of earlier generations was really never established until people began to rebel and make it noticeable. First the girl is actually chasing them which didn t happen in the book. They also were chasing Lennie and George, not looking for them. I think the director chose to do it this way because it adds more to the story then seen in the movie ,and makes it more interesting. It s also the beginning of the story so he probably wanted to draw you in. This changes the story. The director probably chose to start the story on a train for many reasons. First, it is pretty much a good way to start a movie. The director also might have done this because he wanted to show that they were leaving Weed. I had different emotions throughout the book and movie. I One was that Lennie was useless in the beginning of the book and movie.. Another emotion that I had was towards George. • 41. Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Cold Essay Author Pierre Choderlos writes, revenge is a dish best served cold. This quote is renown for its popularity across the centuries, often used as a proverbial description of the idea of revenge. Vengeance itself is a popular issue of morality, discussed and portrayed in a multitude of manners throughout literature, film, and live theater. Two playwrights that tackle the matter of revenge are Zeami Motokiyo and the famous William Shakespeare. Motokiyo s play Astumori takes quite an artistic approach to the idea, telling a one act play from the perspective of a samurai who is feeling guilty for killing a young opponent on the field of battle. He seeks cleansing for his guilty soul, putting him, potentially, on the receiving end of revenge. Shakespeare, on the other hand, takes a more traditional approach to the idea of vengeance in a number of his tragedies, including Hamlet. The ghost of Hamlet s father urges his son to avenge his death by murdering his traitorous uncle Claudius. Both of these works exemplify a different aspect of the controversial matter of revenge. However, Astumori shows the audience that there are alternatives to revenge, while Hamlet reveals that revenge comes with a price. Essentially, both plays reach the same conclusion: revenge will not bring satisfaction. Millicent Bell, in her article Hamlet, Revenge, discusses the use of revenge in Shakespeare s famous work, labeling it a revenge tragedy (311). She writes, Shakespeare s Hamlet has all the ... Studies have also found that dropping out is more likely to occur among students from single parent families and students with an older sibling who has already dropped out than among counterparts without these characteristics. Other aspects of a student s home life such as level of parental involvement and support, parent s educational expectations, parent s attitudes about school, and stability of the family environment can also influence a youth s decision to stay in school. For example, results from the NCES study found that students whose parents were not actively involved in the student s school, whose parents infrequently talked to them about school related matters, or whose parents held low expectations for their child s future educational achievement were more likely to drop out. Another reason why a lot of students drop out of school is simply because they don t like it. It is a disease caused by parasites, meaning they live off the living host to survive. Examples of parasitic organism are viruses, protozoa, and helminthes. They are flatworm or fluke, known as Schistosomes and they cause Schistosomiasis disease. Schistosoma is the spices name and Trematoda is the class that the organism falls under. Helminthes is the group or family of Schistosoma ((Keas, 1999). These organisms are facultative anaerobic, and they have the ability to move around in water and in the host bloodstream. They reproduce sexually and asexually depending on the stage of development; they are intracellular parasites at the mature stage. They live in water in the immature state. Schistosomes are flatworm and are different from other worms because they compose of the female and the male worm. The adult female worm is longer (1.5 2cm) than the male worm (1 1.5cm). The female worm produces several hundreds of eggs daily to enhance its survival rate. An adult life span of a Schistosome can go up to 5 to 10 years, so you can image how dangerous this infection is (Ferrara, 2010). This organism is eukaryotic, because they are multi celled organisms. Another reform made during the Progressive Era was primary elections. Primary elections are elections held to elect candidates to run for office. In a primary election a party nominee must receive more votes than the other nominees in that party. These types of elections are also used to select presidential candidates. Before primary elections political parties chose candidates during caucuses. Greenhouses consist of a framed building with transparent covering. Sunlight penetrates through the transparent covering to get to the plants inside. The ventilation is necessary to avoid the build up of water vapor and to ensure that too much heat doesn t too negatively affect the plants. Without the benefit of experiments to the prove the point, it can still be postulated that the highest concentrations of carbon dioxide are within 1000 meters (3,500 feet) above sea level, and concentrations will diminish as air climbs higher into the atmosphere.
