Christian Beliefs Of The Trinity
A cornerstone teaching of many Christian beliefs is that of the Trinity. It is also a debated and
misunderstood concept. Besides being just outright refuted, there are a couple of ways in which the
Trinity is misunderstood. These misunderstandings can relate to other religions which a person may be
more familiar with, or might believe. God as the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit is a difficult
concept to embrace fully but is not much unlike the concept of understanding an omniscient and
omnipotent being that exists before during and after time. There are several explanations that help our
human brains comprehend the concept and differentiate the Trinity from other religions. Two common
religions view the Trinity as three gods such as Paganism or is one God that reveals himself in three
different forms or persons such as Monism. An individual with a Pagan view might see the Trinity as
three gods. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as separate and different but related gods with the
same purpose. This would be a similar view similar a few that of the Greeks with their many different
God of the Pantheon. A person looking at the Trinity with a background in something like Hinduism,
might see the mentioning of the Trinity and related back to their beliefs or knowledge. Hindu might
see the Father as one God while the Son is a manifestation of the father but not a true God. The same
could be seen for the Holy Spirit. By explaining the Trinity, it is seen of these views are

The Effects Of Playing Games On The Classroom Essay
When I was a teenager, I loved playing games and it was the common interest I shared with my
friends. Yet our interest and enjoyment in gameplay did not always give us pleasant experiences.
Playing games were considered to be waste of times and looked down upon by parents, school
teachers, or even other students. When the events of game related social problems occurred, we had to
overcome severe criticisms from the others. For example, in my middle school, one teacher criticized
students for playing games and blamed them for dropping the average score of the class when my
class ranked last in final exam. Some of the students questioned the logics for his regular derogation
for the game. Rather than educative response or constructive conversation, they were confronted with
the call to the teacher s office and punishment of an apology letter after school. I was one of the
students who had to write ten pages of apology letter. When I finally finished and went back home, I
had a serious conversation with the parents about my friends and our interests in games. Even though
playing games was my favorite activity, it was also a big cause of problems in my childhood. The fact
that my mother does not know to this day that I was a Star Craft representative of my middle school
senior class for the student association tournament.

Reflection Paper On Peace Corps
On Wednesday November 15, 2017, I attended the Peace Corps: Making a Difference in Communities
Abroad, in the Lives of Volunteers and in the U.S. talk for International Education Week. I had always
been curious about the workings of the Peace Corps, and I thought that learning more about it would
be beneficial and I was pleasantly surprised by just how much I learned about this incredible
organization. The theme of the talk was making the most of your world. Anne Tatarsky, the local
Peace Corps recruiter, was the main speaker and she introduced a round table of other past Peace
Corps volunteers there to share their experiences. Tatarsky began by introducing what exactly the
people in the Peace Corps do. She showed just how far the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For one, there is a major focus on training. Before their two year commitment, volunteers receive
three months of training. The skills that are picked up through the Peace Corps will transfer into all
aspects of life. Additionally, after the completion of the commitment, volunteers receive an $8,000
transition fund when they return to the states. Moreover, there are many federal employment benefits
that Peace Corps volunteers benefit from. It is a great way to get your foot in the door to a federal
agency. Not to mention the Grad school and student loan benefits. All around, the life experience that
the Peace Corps offers, can only enrich your life. The panelists acknowledged that volunteers need to
get rid of their preconceived notions, and go into the experience with no expectations. What you think
you want will change. They did a great job of pointing out the need to be realistic. There will be
insects, you will get sick, you will be shocked by something, and you will get lonely. However, the
benefits outweighed the downsides for every single one of them. Attending this discussion had a
profound effect on me. The Peace Corps has always been in the back of my mind as an option after
college, but I never saw it as being realistic. Learning more about it and connecting with a recruiter

Homeless Shelter Analysis
The reason we chose this topic was because we find it incredulous the amount of people who don t
have a home, according to The Orange County Register, an overnight count was made in January of
2015 and it showed that 4,400 people were homeless. Orange County s number is fairly small
compared to LA county, where the number of homeless is huge, with 82,000 homeless (Aguilar).
People become homeless for numerous reasons; Foreclosure, decrease in public assistance, high
healthcare costs, the lack of affordable housing, victims of domestic violence, mental illnesses, and
addiction disorders. As you can see drug addiction is not the only way people become homeless.
Everyone deserves a second chance and having this shelter would help many individuals get back on

Science Applications International Corporation
Self Development Process at SAIC
Introduction Science Applications International Corporation has long enjoyed a very focused and
substantive self development program. However, the self development program for individual
employees is guided by management determination of where the employee best fits into the
organization. This suggests a mid level, management centric approach to employee self development.
The challenge for SAIC is to create a systems approach for self development that allows significant
latitude for the employee to chart their unique, self development strategy. SAIC does not allow the
employee to develop a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By and large, employees have stated that management is too focused on task execution and not
enough on developing subordinates. Access to management is difficult within SAIC. The hierarchical
structure of the company promotes a disconnected workforce. The consequences of SAIC leadership
not recognizing employee perceptions could prove to be severe. Employee turn over is high within
many sectors of SAIC. This trend will continue if SAIC leadership does not empower their employees
with more self determination in self development.
Desired Future State The ideal state for self determination in the area of self development is to allow
the individual employee maximum latitude in accessing, enrolling, and completing three to four self
development modules annually. Many of these courses take an hour to complete on line. SAIC
leadership should cover the hours used for each employee through general overhead dollars. Although
this would prove to be costly, it would save the company millions in the long run. As an alternative,
employees could take these classes on their own time, if the overhead costs proved too high. Most
employees would not think twice about bettering themselves by giving up four hours of time annually.
SAIC is on the verge of transitioning to become a learning organization. The sheer size of the
company is a major obstacle however. In 2013, SAIC will split into two distinct companies.

Claviceps Prpure The Cause Of Hysteria In The Salem Witch...
In 1692, a great evil was cast upon Salem, Massachusetts. Twenty men and women were hanged under
the accusation of performing witchcraft, and in turn created a mass hysteria within the citizens of
Salem. Undoubtedly, the cause of these accusations and hysteria was ergotism, a disease caused by
infected rye grain. The conditions of the region contributed to much of the growth of ergot. Ergotism
had many distinct symptoms, which matched much of the testimony and accounts of those involved in
the Witch Trials. All of these circumstances definitively caused the terror and panic found in the town
of Salem in 1692. Ergot, more specifically known as Claviceps purpurea (The Witches Curse), is a
fungus that mainly infects cereal grains. This fungi is commonly found on the rye plant. In Salem, rye
was a large, sustainable crop due to the plant s growing season coinciding well with the ideal growing
season of the region, as Spring sowing was the rule; the bitter winters made fall sowing less
successful. Seed time for the rye was April and the harvesting took place in August (Linnda Caporael).
The weather and climate also provided for hearty rye crops to be grown. The weather in 1691, the year
the rye consumed in 1692 was grown, was described as Early rains and warm weather in the spring
progressed to a hot and stormy summer (Caporael). This wet weather was ideal for the crop to thrive.
Concurrently, ergot thrived in these wet, warm conditions. Due to the of the overlapping of

Implied Volatilities amp; Volatility Smiles
1. Why does the target cell in the Solver minimization reference the control variate estimate of the
American Put option instead of the value as implied by the tree?
It is because that control variate estimate is more accurate than the implied value by the tree. The error
of the binominal tree can be reduced by using it only to calculate the difference between the price of
the American and the equivalent European options with the same strike and the same time to maturity.
2. Use Solver to find the implied volatilities for all put options with strike prices between $70 and

5. Fix the time to maturity at 365 days. Now vary the strike price as before and also vary the interest
rate between 1.0%, 4.0% and 7.0%. Submit the table and the graph.
6. Describe briefly how the EEP depends on the parameters we varied in this exercise.
From the results we observe that early exercise premium increases at different maturity dates for the
same strike price and when varying strike price with the same maturity date the early exercise
premium increases non linearly in an upward trend. The shift in the trending from options 1, 2, 3 can
be explained by the maturity, as maturity increases an American option is more worthwhile because
more node exist where it is possible for us to exercise early. From the results early exercise price as a
function of strike price, maturity and interest rate, increases when we hold maturity constant and vary
the other two. The shift in trending can be explained by the increase in interest rates for options 1, 2, 3
respectively. When interest rate is increased the present value of the underlying drops and the
likeliness of the option being in the money increases and therefore the value of put option increases.

Colin Powell Leadership Analysis
This paper is a descriptive essay that explains in detail how or why Colin Powell s eighteen leadership
principles pertains to me during phase II of 922A Warrant Officer Basic Course. I chose three
leadership principals that I was able to identify with: (1) Being responsible sometimes means pissing
people off. (2) You don t know what you can get away with until you try. (3) Perpetual optimism is a
force multiplier. This paper describes my personal opinions and real life experiences that pertain to
each of the three principals chosen. Three Leadership Principals from Colin Powell s Leadership
Philosophy Being a leader, doing the right thing and living up to the army values are all things that
society expects of a military officer. Leadership means to positively influence, motivate and provide
your Soldiers with a sense of purpose to accomplish the mission to the highest standard. General Colin
Powell has published both books and articles on leadership, specifically his eighteen principles of
leadership. After reading through the eighteen principles I have chosen three that I am able to identify
with and will discuss in detail how and why each principle pertains to me. The first principle I chose
was, Being responsible sometimes means pissing people off. A quality leader shows responsibility for
the welfare and well being of their Soldiers, which also inevitably means some people will get angry

Management of SLE often depends on the severity of the disease. One treatment option are
nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), usually taken orally. There are over the counter
NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, Advil, and aspirin. NSAIDs are used to treat swelling, pain and fever
associated with lupus. They are also an inflammation suppressant. Different people respond better to
one certain NSAIDs than another, sometimes a stronger NSAID is needed and available with a
prescription. Jillian has already been taking ibuprofen, either a prescription NSAID would be needed
or another treatment option. Immunosuppressants are also used as a treatment for SLE.
Immunosuppressants, taken orally, are drugs that are used to suppress the immune system, which is
helpful in more serious cases of lupus. Immunosuppressants work to suppress SLE symptoms by
interfering with the synthesis of DNA, the material in your cells that contain the blueprints for all of

How Does Ray Bradbury Use Light And Dark In Fahrenheit 451
Title
In Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451, he uses light and dark as contrasts is used as a motif to help further
develop differences between people in society through characterization and plot. Light symbolizes
knowledge and purity; on the other hand, darkness shows ignorance in the society, while also being a
form of safety. Bradbury uses light versus dark to compare purity and ignorance through
characterization. Before Montag found the value behind books, he would come home from his job of

Taxable Income And International Transfer Pricing Essay
Taxable Income and International Transfer Pricing Business organizations increasingly look to
globalization to increase profitability and maintain competitiveness. Income from such operations is
taxed differently in the United States (US) dependent upon type of income and the levels of said
income. Such foreign corporations that are controlled by US shareholders are considered controlled
foreign corporations (CFC) which must comply with tax rules instituted in 1962 (Doupnik Perera,
2014). Wholly owned subsidiaries of US companies such as Bahamamama, Ltd, the subsidiary of
Mama Corporation, are considered a CFC, and as such companies such as Mama Corporation must
determine income taxed by the US. Additionally, global organizations seek to reduce tax liabilities
through transfer pricing. Transfer pricing is used to determine the price of transactions between
subsidiaries and parent companies and is used to reduce tax liabilities of US parent companies. As
such, tax authorities intervene to ensure US corporations report correct tax liabilities.
Mama Corporation Subsidiary Bahamamama, Ltd. Mama Corporation s subsidiary Bahamamama,
Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary. As a wholly owned subsidiary, Bahamamama, Ltd is considered a
CFC and as such must determine income taxable to the parent company. The income taxable is subpart
F income, which is income that can be easily moved between tax jursidictions (Doupnik Perera,

Robby Real Estate Bubble Flipped Case Study
Has the NYC Real Estate Bubble Popped? Some of the largest cities in the world seem to have

last year. While you may not think that is that big of a deal, that 2.87% is the highest the vacancy rate
has been in the city since August of 2006. This increase indicates that tenants have reached the limit
on what they can pay. Not hard to see that when you take into consideration that in November, the
monthly rent for an apartment had climbed nearly 4% from the previous year. The cost of leasing is

The Turkish Language Reform And Its Effect Of The Turkish...
The Turkish Language Reform And Its Effects
Linguists consider language as a living asset. It rises, develops and eventually dies. If we consider the
language our grandparents use, we surely remark some differences with our language usage. My
grandmother still says bencileyin instead of benim gibi for instance. The improving technology, the
intercultural attainability ,etc...bring new words into our vocabulary or change their actual meaning.
Although language develops naturally through generations, in history we can see examples of active
intervention of authorities in languages. The language reform in Turkey is an example of such an
intervention. The fledging Turkish government obviously needed an attempt in the language for

In may 1928 were the numbers were changed into Latin numbers which was followed by the alteration
of the Arabic alphabet into the Latin alphabet in November 1928. On the first of January 1929 it
became unlawful to use Arabic letters to write Turkish. These steps were progressive , albeit not
comprehensive enough. An organizing and supervisory power was needed to regulate and dominate
the process. On account of this need, The Turkish Language Society was founded on 12 June 1932.
The members of the society were in charge of collecting and disseminating the pure Turkish
vocabulary as an alternative to the Ottoman Turkish ones. A few examples of these words are: Cenub
(‫)جنوب‬, the Ottoman Turkish word for South , became Güney , ecnebi (‫)اجنبی‬, meaning stranger
became yabancı or el and hakikat (‫)حقيقت‬ became gerçek , which means the truth . Most of the altered
words were accepted by the folk and the old ones were fallen out of currency; nevertheless, some have
kept their usage until today. A good example of such an evergreen word is affetmek, which means to
forgive, was changed by the new Turkish equivalent bağışlamak but the chance of hearing the old
version when you talk to a Turk is quite high .In 1934 lists of Turkish words began to be published so
that everybody was aware of the new vocabulary. A year later in 1935 those new words began to
appear in newspapers and the common people became more and more familiar with the alphabet as
well as the new vocabulary. In summary, due to the language planning attempts in the 20 s and 30 s

Walter Moss An Age Of Progress Analysis
Today, most people take electricity for granted, especially in the United States and other developed
countries of the world. According to Walter Moss in his book, An Age of Progress?, Clashing
Twentieth Century Global Forces, during the twentieth century, perhaps no other technological
advancement, even the automobile, affected the people of the world more than electricity. Electricity
would become the foundation for the development of new technological advancements in industries
such as agriculture, health and science, environment, and technology. Production and consumption in
all these industries would continue to rise throughout the century with reliance on electricity to
flourish.
The widespread use of electricity started towards the end of the nineteenth century. At first electricity,
both in the United States and abroad, was used primarily for lighting streets, operating public transit,
and by stores, restaurants, and other commercial and industrial enterprises. The use of oil and candles
were still the typical way many people lit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Did Eli Whitney Impact The Invention Of The Cotton Gin
American society was hugely impacted by Eli Whitney s invention of the cotton gin because it
changed the way cotton was separated, in turned made cotton production easier and made cotton
plantations spread across the South. This increased the need for slavery and caused a bigger wedge
between the North and the South.
In the South, during the late 1700 s, tobacco became a less lucrative crop, and it also laid waste to the
land robbing it of nutrients. Other crops of the period, hardly made any profit for the southern
plantation owners. It was then believed that the slave was no longer earning enough for the landowner
to pay for the upkeep and the end to slavery may have been near until a little invention changed all
that. The cotton gin was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A direct effect of the cotton gin was the need for more slaves to pick cotton since it was so easy to
separate, they now could work in volume. Consequently, more cotton crops caused more demand for
cheap labor and the role of slaves. Even though, the invention of the cotton gin decreased the amount
of labor, that was needed to separate the cotton from the seed, the caused an increase in the cotton
crops across the South. This provided a need for more slaves to pick those crops. After the
Proclamation of 1763 had been nullified, the land west of the Appalachians began to be settled as well
as the land from the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. The new, rich land began to be worked for the new
cash crop of cotton as well as the increased demand for slaves to cultivate the soil and pick the cotton.
From 1790 to 1808 the South brought in 80,000 more slaves before the Act Prohibiting Importation of
Slaves outlined in the Constitution came into effect January 1, 1808. One third of the southern
population, after the cotton boom, were slaves.Thomas Jefferson, then Secretary of State at that time,

Purpose Of Performance Appraisal Performance
Literature Review Purpose of Performance Appraisal Performance appraisal aims at clarifying the
employees work expectation, improving employee development, linking pay with performance and
assessing workforce development (Mathus and Jackson, 1998). It makes employees to become aware
of the organizations expectations after performance evaluation which helps them in improving their
performance (de Waal, 2004). This is further emphasized by Gabris and Ihrke (2000) who found out
that the main aim of performance appraisal is the provision of periodic and formal feedback to
individual staff members. According to Wanna, et al (1992), the objective of staff appraisal is to
improve planning and service delivery at the general level and also to provide feedback to individual
officers. Thus performance appraisal provides information to help manage employees in such a way
that employee performance improves (Denisi and Robert, 2006). The ultimate goal of most
performance appraisal systems is to increase employee motivation and productivity The evolution of
performance Appraisal can be traced back to the reign of second caliph of Islam, Hazrat Umar (634
644 A.D /13 23 AH) who laid the foundations of many State institutions and enunciated several
administrative laws that are being followed and adopted by many nations of the world till today as a
role model of true administration. Hazrat Umar, before appointing an officer for any duty, would

Police Brutality In Coates s Between The World And Me
Police brutality has become more of a worry within the past two decades. Riots are becoming more
frequent. Fatal shootings are becoming common. Police officers are not held accountable for the
killings they have committed and will continue to commit. Several people believe in the use of
excessive force, otherwise known as police brutality, to claim territories and correct others. Therefore,
it is important to analyze the different views of this aspect.
New York Times bestseller Between the World and Me written by Ta Nehisi Coates compares
historical racism to racism in America today. Coates originally wrote this book for his son, Samori, so
he could explain the trials and tribulations he would have to face as he grows up. Coates argues that ...

politicians. Although they may try to hide it, it brings more attention to it. Coate s main belief is police
brutality is recognized because of incidents being known through the news or through papers. The
Editorial Board focuses on the discrimination and injustice brought about by politicians. They are
saying politicians turn a blind eye towards police brutality to make the people of the public feel safe.
Written by Robert Staples the article White Power, Black Crime, and Racial Politics begins by
explaining the arrest of Henry Louis Gates Jr., a Harvard professor, who was arrested because he was

The Centrality Of Play For A Child s Social Development
The centrality of Play for a child s social development Play is so important in a child s development
that the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights has recognized it as a right of every child
(Parents Magazine, 2015). Play is also important in social development as highlighted in my poster for
parents, this rationale of my poster will discuss the key theories, processes and messages that are
presented when looking at how play affects social development. Many theorists including Vygotsky,
Piaget and Bandura have conducted studies on play and the social development of a child. As Piaget
stated play performs a major role in children s expanding mental abilities (Piaget, 1962) this was
supported in studies conducted by both Bandura and Vygotsky. Vygotsky s Zone of Proximal
Development (ZPD) is a supported theory on the difference on what children can achieve
independently and what they can achieve or understand with help from a More Knowledgeable Other
(MKO), which is someone with better understanding or a higher ability than the learner. This can be a
teacher or another student in a school setting. Vygotsky developed his theory on social development
where his main focus was on a child s ZPD, he defines the ZPD as the distance between the actual
developmental level as determined by independent problem solving and the level of potential
development as determined through problem solving under adult guidance, or in collaboration with
more capable peers (Vygotsky,

The Beach Carrier Case
Jay Eskew ECE 301 Summer 07/18/2015 Case 7: The Beach Carrier Questions for Discussion 1. What

How can Ricci protect her product design? 4. What are the pros and cons of the mail ordering market
strategy? What are the pros and cons of alternative distribution methods? The biggest benefit that the
mail order marketing strategy will yield to Ricci is that she gets to choose when and where the Beach
Carrier is offered for sale. With this feature she can choose who distributes her product as well. The
next big pro for the mail order strategy is that she will receive immediate feedback on the
effectiveness of the system. If after the first wave goes out there is a lag in sales, she may need to
think of a new method to market/sell her product. A major disadvantage to the mail order system is
that oftentimes a small picture in a catalog is not an effective representation of the product itself and
could turn people off to potentially purchasing the Beach Carrier. Another con to this system is that
Ricci may not be reaching enough of the target consumers through her system. Her target
demographic, women, would not necessarily be reached by a Boating magazine. Also, advertising
through a magazine is a very ineffective way to reach a large market because it is very unlikely that
many potential customers are subscribed to that

Summary Of Animalistic Desire By D. H. Lawrence
D.H Lawrence s ideas of love and interpersonal attraction are nothing if not polarizing. His distillation
of love to an animalistic desire can be seen as either the height or death of romanticism. One may
argue that such uncontrollable hormonal puppeteering undermines the human element of restraint or a
more noble idea of love as unique companionship. In a sense, Lawrence challenges the notion of
separation between and the beasts; he suggests the protestant fueled traditions of courtship are not a
sign of human elevation, but a convolution of instinct that is as primal as the lust of thirst. However,
Lawrence may also represent the life of romanticism, shaping such animal drive into the current of a
more galvanistic construct of romance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early conflict, before grandiose confrontations of love, is found when Dr. Fergusson considers the
contradictions he feels for the town he works and lives in. Walking through the dreary countryside he
muses:
It wore him out, but at the same time he had a craving for it. It was a stimulant to him to be in the
homes of the working people, moving as it were through the innermost body of their life. His nerves
were excited and gratified. He could come so near, into the very lives of the rough, inarticulate,
powerfully emotional men and women. He grumbled, he said he hated the hellish hole. But as a matter
of fact it excited him, the contact with the rough, strongly feeling people was a stimulant applied
direct to his nerves. (237)
His love hate relationship stems from two conflicting inner personalities. The first Fergusson is a man
of medicine, sophisticated and reasonable. He is repulsed by downtrodden town, seeing it as the
antithesis of all that his education represents. The second man is a reaction to the discipline and
restraint required to create the first emotional, craving excitement, and attracted to the simplicity and
assertiveness of uneducated people. The conflicts between the doctor s opposing sides are soon
mirrored in his blooming, although sudden, romance. Initially, the logical side of Dr. Fergusson views
Mabel as simply his friend s sister, willing to strike up polite conversation, yet hesitant at her
dangerous eyes that always

Benefits And Methods Of Effective Classroom Management
Benefits and Methods of Effective Classroom Management According to a survey done in the 2011
2012 school year by the National Center for Education Statistics, only 38% of teachers felt somewhat
prepared to handle classroom management and student discipline in their first year of teaching.
Turnover rates for new teachers in the United States are between 30 and 50 percent within the first
five years according to Cooper and Alvarado (2006) and part of this turnover rate is attributed to non
effective classroom management. What teachers do in the classroom have two times the effect on
student achievement and one of the most important things they do is managing classrooms. (Marzano,
2003) Classroom management can be defined as the techniques that a teacher may use to keep control
of the classroom, keep disruptions down and keep the students academically attentive. (Emmer
Stough, 2001) Research suggests that effective classroom management is essential for a successful
school year for both teachers and students, and by implementing certain classroom management
techniques it can lead to more student cooperation and success, and less student behavioral disruptions
and teacher burnout. There are many classroom management techniques that teachers can be used in
the classroom that has proven to be effective for most students. The first most important technique of
classroom management is to make sure that classroom rules and procedures are established on the first

Throughout history, the U.S. military has enjoyed a reputation of being one of the most respected and
reliable organizations in the United States. Although the military continues to make every effort to
achieve excellence, the very real threat of drawdowns and budget cuts have constrained and forced
leaders to change the way they conduct business. Even though the objective remains to be building a

attitude within its ranks. This is not the first time the military has gone through this process. In the late

Essay about Character Study of Sir Toby Belch from Twelfth...
Comedy is by far the most influential factor in deciding whether or not a story is entertaining to its
audience due to its ability to create a more relaxed and pleasurable environment in the plot. From the
playful awkwardness of Anne Shirley to the witty banter of detectives Tommy and Tuppence, it
evident that comedic characters have always been appreciated and acknowledged in literature. Sir
Toby Belch is but one of the many amusing characters found today and is by far one of the most
humorous. While Shakespeare s Twelfth Night is surrounded around an issue of romantic
entanglement, Sir Toby s very presence is enough to lighten the mood and accentuate the comedic
theme of the story through his creation of problems and unique personality. ... Show more content on

In addition, while the matter of death is a very pensive matter, Sir Toby states; What a plague means

to seven years of mourning for her late brother unnecessary. All of these examples portray Sir Toby s
unique capability to amuse the audience no matter how intense a situation is, and trumps his
unappealing and carefree attitude. Furthermore, another of the countless reasons why Sir Toby Belch
is the most enjoyable character in Twelfth Night is pertaining to his whimsical and absurd personality
that is like none other s in the play. This intrigues the audience and compels them to enjoy every
moment that he appears on stage, seeing as though a dull statement from Sir Toby has not yet been

The ACF plant has experienced serious cutbacks throughout the 80s due to competitive pressure
caused primarily by the entrance of foreign competition in a market formerly dominated by US auto
manufacturers and the oil shock of the 70s. The expensive gasoline has started a trend in the auto
industry for fuel efficiency resulting in ever increasing emission standards.
With the resulting loss of domestic market share, ACF is facing intense competition from not only

Note: A look at Exhibit 2 showed a fall in all overhead accounts after the outsourcing in 1989. We can
take this to mean that in reality no costs are completely avoidable or unavoidable.
To Outsource or not to Outsource
We are not in favor of outsourcing manifolds because of the following reasons: 1. The outsourcing of
Muffler/Exhaust and Oil Pans, increased the OVH rate from 434% to 577% even though the total
overhead amount fell. This new rate when applied to Manifolds made it cost inefficient despite some
remarkable improvements in its production. This was because the fixed costs associated with the
production of Muffler/Exhaust and Oil Pans were transferred to the remaining product lines. 2. It is
quite likely that if Manifolds are outsourced then the costs associated with their production will be
added on to the remaining two lines. Their cost classification will suffer and they could be next in line
for a possible outsourcing. The plant may eventually shut down and so may the company in time. 3.
Though the data is absent we feel that the allocation base should be machine hours instead of direct
labor. This base should give a more accurate picture given the extensive mechanization of the plant
and may provide some respite to the Manifolds operation in term of overhead cost allocation. 4. We
have attempted a quantitive analysis of the effect of

Environmental Conditions Of The United States Essay
2. Environmental Conditions In terms of climate, the region is characterized by high temperatures
during most months of the year. Minimal rainfall is experienced mostly during winter but is usually
irregular. The high humidity is caused as a result of the hot temperatures in Bahrain coupled with the
shallow seas around. Bahrain is located in a region that has experienced an increase in urbanization
over recent years. The quick population growth has occurred mainly in urban areas. The result of this
rapid growth has caused an increase in UHI (Urban Heat Island). Increased UHI intensity associates
with increased energy consumption, in using the cooling system in particular (Al Obaidi, Ismail
Rahman, 2014). Being that the cooling system is the region s major concern, it only translates to more
energy consumption. With the high energy consumption, it is therefore worrying to imagine that the
main energy source being used in the region is still derived from fossil fuels. This concern was
expressed by the chief economist at DIFC, Dr. Naser Saidi. In his opinion, the GCC countries should
act with caution regarding their use of the oil reserves instead of relying on them for financial support.
Dr. Naser alleges that Kuwait will run out of oil by 2017 whereas Saudi Arabia s reserve will be spent
by 2035 that is if they continue using at their current rate (Gulf Business, 2012). Apart from the
climate, the use of materials also has an effect on energy spent as it limits the use of

American aviation. Kindelberger was born in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1895, 20 years before the

dropped out to become a steel mill apprentice. After experiencing the brutal hard work of the steel

largest impacts came during the inter war years and World War II. While working as a mid tier
draftsman and designer with the Martin Company, he helped with the design of the illustrious Martin
Bombers which were a series of superior bombers used towards the end of World War I. The Martin
Bombers had new some never before seen features such as closed cockpits, rotating guns and
retractable landing gear as well as much more. The innovation in these planes changed the standards
for bombers at the time thus leading to other bomber designs being obsolete. Then, with his
experience at Martin, Kindelberger was able to move over to the Douglas Aircraft Company where his
genius really began to shine through. With Douglas Kindelberger designed seventy one models for
both military and civil use. One of his greatest accomplishments was the creation timeless DC series.

First, the aggressor in this situation is only 15 years old. At 15 years old, the aggressor felt it both
necessary and acceptable to violently attack another player. Moreover, the 15 year old victim
subjected to the attack was incredibly damaged emotionally from the event. Secondly, the verbiage
used is so violent which highlights the significance of racism in minor hockey. The nature of the sport
evokes intense and sporadic emotions which encourages the oppressor to express their truest
emotions. As a result, one can conclude that racism is deeply rooted within that player s beliefs, and
which is not exclusive to this incident.
The next example of racism in minor hockey involves parent s involvement in the problem. Parents

This is a particularly disturbing incident which speaks volumes to the root of the problem. It is

The Outsiders Analysis
While most teens do not accomplish much by the end of their high school journey, Susan Eloise
Hinton outranked most teens by publishing her first novel by the age of seventeen. Born in 1950, in
Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hinton had always been one for reading. Although, as an article from Contemporary
Literary Criticism Select clarified, Hinton had little to no options of novels to read for young adults.
This helped to inspire her to write her first story in that she would then have something to read that
contrasted from the Mary Jane Goes to the Prom junk, as Hinton had described many of the popular
books for her age. She wrote numerous stories throughout her writing career, such as The Outsiders,
That Was Then, This Is Now, and Rumble Fish, among others. Many of these novels were later created
into film to further spread the phenomenal works of Hinton. Her story of a gang rivalry quickly
became a success. Krischer from the New York Times, states that since the novel had first been
published, over fifteen million copies have been sold. The Outsiders follows the perspective of a
young teen, Ponyboy (Pony) Curtis, as he tells his story of brotherly love within the gang, as well as
recognizing the similarities between the rival gangs within the town. Hinton portrays these strong
themes through her beautiful character development and intriguing plot that resulted in a timeless
classic, The Outsiders. One of the defining features of Hinton s novel has been her themes presented

Core Concepts In Sociology
After watching Core Concepts in Sociology, the primary concern presented is that, we as human
beings are absolutely lost and unaware of different cultural standards and social norms. In my
estimation, few individuals try to fathom the culture outside of middle class white America. Several
individuals do not want a big house, with a picket white fence, or a new car every three years.
Societies fail to comprehend that the gender roles placed on men and women mostly occur in middle
class America. In my assessment, societies do not pay attention to the gender role of a poor class black
woman. One can make the argument that a misunderstanding of cultures and norms is the leading
cause of the problems in today s world. Although, some may consider that we are moving towards a
global culture, most individuals believe we are further apart. In addition to being absolutely lost and
unaware of different cultures, the organizations that are socializing us may be corrupt.
As Americans, we are Ethnocentric, which is a major issue in my opinion. If people do not dress like
Americans or value the things we value, they are considered substandard. We are totally lost and
unaware of different culture standards and social norms. For instance, some Americans consider that
all Muslims are terrorists, when Muslims ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One can make the argument that the cherishing of material possessions is the leading cause of the
problems in today s world. Most of the world does not care about cars, enormous mansions, or a six
figure income. The culture in America is based on money. The problem is that we as Americans value
money over the life of a human being. That exact point shows when America is willing to invade a
country for the up keeping of their possessions. If America was aware of how ethnocentric we are, and
start to understand others culture standards, other nations would respect us

A Small Development Company With Big Plans
Blog 16 1X2Gaming are a small development company with big plans
While there maybe countless online casino developers operating in 2015, few of the smaller names do
much to stand out from the crowd. It seems that for many upstart names, finding an audience and
breaking into the industry proves to be quite the challenge. The larger companies amidst the landscape
have not taken kindly to newer names muscling in, reducing the reach of smaller development
company s in the process. However, while this is the case, a small firm from the United Kingdom has
managed to find a foothold in the industry.
After years in the doldrums, the British online casino game development scene has seen a bit of a
revival this year. Several names have emerged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Lexi Freund Interview Paper
On September 6th, 2017th, I had the opportunity to interview Lexi Freund. We were able to meet up
outside of room 2157 in Pearson Hall. Lexi was born to her parents Matt and Dawn in Omaha,
Nebraska on October 14th, 1998. She is the oldest sibling out of three. Her younger sister who is
seventeen years old is named Heather and her twelve years old brother is named Dan. As a family,
they live in Louis, Iowa which is near Atlantic, where she attended high school.
Lexi had the advantage of growing up on a farm throughout her entire childhood. Here they had a beef
cow operation while also growing crops such as corn and soybeans. Her favorite part about the farm
were the cows. She has been proudly crowned the Cass county beef queen. This

Essay about The Faith of Mary Rowlandson
The Faith of Mary Rowlandson In her writing titled A Narrative of the Captivity and Restauration of
Mrs. Mary Rowlandson , Mary lies out for the reader her experience of being held in captivity by
Indians during the King Philip s War. Perhaps one of the most significant aspects of this writing is the
glimpse that the reader gets into Rowlandson s faith and religion. Faith was a major aspect of life in
the Colonial Period. It was of widespread belief that God was to be feared, and that he was the only
way to redemption (Kizer). Mary Rowlandson was no different, but the extreme conditions of her
captivity caused her faith to occasionally waiver. Most of the time throughout her journey in captivity,
she depended on God, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She writes And here I cannot but take notice of the strange providence of God in preserving the
heathen... (Rowlandson 450). At this point Mary cannot seem to help but to contemplate why God is
allowing the Indians to prevail in this war. There was no denying the stark differences between the
victories of the English and the Indians. Consider the fact that the Puritans were Christians of the
strictest variety, and they did not believe that the Indians were blessed with God s grace. It is quite
understandable then that Mary would find it troubling that her people were suffering devastating
effects of this war fought by people who were not even Christians. So she questions whether or not
this is God s work. In the end she concludes that God is not helping the Indians, rather he knows that
the English are not ready for his mercy, and her faith is restored once again (Rowlandson 450). As
Mary s story unravels, she continues to suffer long hours of work, starvation, and separation from her
family. She reads her holy bible and is constantly reminding herself that God is with her and will see
her through these trials. Her spirits are lifted her master agrees to sell Mary to her husband, and her
mistress begins the journey with her, but before long the mistress decides not to go any further and
they turn back. Not long after, she starts to loose hope that she will ever be reunited with her family.
She becomes discouraged, and her spirit

  • 3. Christian Beliefs Of The Trinity A cornerstone teaching of many Christian beliefs is that of the Trinity. It is also a debated and misunderstood concept. Besides being just outright refuted, there are a couple of ways in which the Trinity is misunderstood. These misunderstandings can relate to other religions which a person may be more familiar with, or might believe. God as the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit is a difficult concept to embrace fully but is not much unlike the concept of understanding an omniscient and omnipotent being that exists before during and after time. There are several explanations that help our human brains comprehend the concept and differentiate the Trinity from other religions. Two common religions view the Trinity as three gods such as Paganism or is one God that reveals himself in three different forms or persons such as Monism. An individual with a Pagan view might see the Trinity as three gods. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as separate and different but related gods with the same purpose. This would be a similar view similar a few that of the Greeks with their many different God of the Pantheon. A person looking at the Trinity with a background in something like Hinduism, might see the mentioning of the Trinity and related back to their beliefs or knowledge. Hindu might see the Father as one God while the Son is a manifestation of the father but not a true God. The same could be seen for the Holy Spirit. By explaining the Trinity, it is seen of these views are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Effects Of Playing Games On The Classroom Essay When I was a teenager, I loved playing games and it was the common interest I shared with my friends. Yet our interest and enjoyment in gameplay did not always give us pleasant experiences. Playing games were considered to be waste of times and looked down upon by parents, school teachers, or even other students. When the events of game related social problems occurred, we had to overcome severe criticisms from the others. For example, in my middle school, one teacher criticized students for playing games and blamed them for dropping the average score of the class when my class ranked last in final exam. Some of the students questioned the logics for his regular derogation for the game. Rather than educative response or constructive conversation, they were confronted with the call to the teacher s office and punishment of an apology letter after school. I was one of the students who had to write ten pages of apology letter. When I finally finished and went back home, I had a serious conversation with the parents about my friends and our interests in games. Even though playing games was my favorite activity, it was also a big cause of problems in my childhood. Employee turn over is high within many sectors of SAIC. This trend will continue if SAIC leadership does not empower their employees with more self determination in self development. Desired Future State The ideal state for self determination in the area of self development is to allow the individual employee maximum latitude in accessing, enrolling, and completing three to four self development modules annually. Many of these courses take an hour to complete on line. SAIC leadership should cover the hours used for each employee through general overhead dollars. Although this would prove to be costly, it would save the company millions in the long run. As an alternative, employees could take these classes on their own time, if the overhead costs proved too high. Most employees would not think twice about bettering themselves by giving up four hours of time annually. SAIC is on the verge of transitioning to become a learning organization. The sheer size of the company is a major obstacle however. In 2013, SAIC will split into two distinct companies. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Claviceps Prpure The Cause Of Hysteria In The Salem Witch... In 1692, a great evil was cast upon Salem, Massachusetts. Twenty men and women were hanged under the accusation of performing witchcraft, and in turn created a mass hysteria within the citizens of Salem. Undoubtedly, the cause of these accusations and hysteria was ergotism, a disease caused by infected rye grain. The conditions of the region contributed to much of the growth of ergot. Ergotism had many distinct symptoms, which matched much of the testimony and accounts of those involved in the Witch Trials. All of these circumstances definitively caused the terror and panic found in the town of Salem in 1692. Ergot, more specifically known as Claviceps purpurea (The Witches Curse), is a fungus that mainly infects cereal grains. This fungi is commonly found on the rye plant. In Salem, rye was a large, sustainable crop due to the plant s growing season coinciding well with the ideal growing season of the region, as Spring sowing was the rule; the bitter winters made fall sowing less successful. Seed time for the rye was April and the harvesting took place in August (Linnda Caporael). The weather and climate also provided for hearty rye crops to be grown. The weather in 1691, the year the rye consumed in 1692 was grown, was described as Early rains and warm weather in the spring progressed to a hot and stormy summer (Caporael). This wet weather was ideal for the crop to thrive. Concurrently, ergot thrived in these wet, warm conditions. Due to the of the overlapping of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the results we observe that early exercise premium increases at different maturity dates for the same strike price and when varying strike price with the same maturity date the early exercise premium increases non linearly in an upward trend. The shift in the trending from options 1, 2, 3 can be explained by the maturity, as maturity increases an American option is more worthwhile because more node exist where it is possible for us to exercise early. From the results early exercise price as a function of strike price, maturity and interest rate, increases when we hold maturity constant and vary the other two. The shift in trending can be explained by the increase in interest rates for options 1, 2, 3 respectively. When interest rate is increased the present value of the underlying drops and the likeliness of the option being in the money increases and therefore the value of put option increases. On the first of January 1929 it became unlawful to use Arabic letters to write Turkish. These steps were progressive , albeit not comprehensive enough. An organizing and supervisory power was needed to regulate and dominate the process. On account of this need, The Turkish Language Society was founded on 12 June 1932. The members of the society were in charge of collecting and disseminating the pure Turkish vocabulary as an alternative to the Ottoman Turkish ones. A few examples of these words are: Cenub (‫)جنوب‬, the Ottoman Turkish word for South , became Güney , ecnebi (‫)اجنبی‬, meaning stranger became yabancı or el and hakikat (‫)حقيقت‬ became gerçek , which means the truth . In the South, during the late 1700 s, tobacco became a less lucrative crop, and it also laid waste to the land robbing it of nutrients. • 20. Purpose Of Performance Appraisal Performance Literature Review Purpose of Performance Appraisal Performance appraisal aims at clarifying the employees work expectation, improving employee development, linking pay with performance and assessing workforce development (Mathus and Jackson, 1998). It makes employees to become aware of the organizations expectations after performance evaluation which helps them in improving their performance (de Waal, 2004). This is further emphasized by Gabris and Ihrke (2000) who found out that the main aim of performance appraisal is the provision of periodic and formal feedback to individual staff members. According to Wanna, et al (1992), the objective of staff appraisal is to improve planning and service delivery at the general level and also to provide feedback to individual officers. Thus performance appraisal provides information to help manage employees in such a way that employee performance improves (Denisi and Robert, 2006). The ultimate goal of most performance appraisal systems is to increase employee motivation and productivity The evolution of performance Appraisal can be traced back to the reign of second caliph of Islam, Hazrat Umar (634 644 A.D /13 23 AH) who laid the foundations of many State institutions and enunciated several administrative laws that are being followed and adopted by many nations of the world till today as a role model of true administration. The Centrality Of Play For A Child s Social Development The centrality of Play for a child s social development Play is so important in a child s development that the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights has recognized it as a right of every child (Parents Magazine, 2015). Play is also important in social development as highlighted in my poster for parents, this rationale of my poster will discuss the key theories, processes and messages that are presented when looking at how play affects social development. Many theorists including Vygotsky, Piaget and Bandura have conducted studies on play and the social development of a child. As Piaget stated play performs a major role in children s expanding mental abilities (Piaget, 1962) this was supported in studies conducted by both Bandura and Vygotsky. Vygotsky s Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) is a supported theory on the difference on what children can achieve independently and what they can achieve or understand with help from a More Knowledgeable Other (MKO), which is someone with better understanding or a higher ability than the learner. This can be a teacher or another student in a school setting. Vygotsky developed his theory on social development where his main focus was on a child s ZPD, he defines the ZPD as the distance between the actual developmental level as determined by independent problem solving and the level of potential development as determined through problem solving under adult guidance, or in collaboration with more capable peers (Vygotsky, ... What are the pros and cons of alternative distribution methods? The biggest benefit that the mail order marketing strategy will yield to Ricci is that she gets to choose when and where the Beach Carrier is offered for sale. With this feature she can choose who distributes her product as well. The next big pro for the mail order strategy is that she will receive immediate feedback on the effectiveness of the system. If after the first wave goes out there is a lag in sales, she may need to think of a new method to market/sell her product. A major disadvantage to the mail order system is that oftentimes a small picture in a catalog is not an effective representation of the product itself and could turn people off to potentially purchasing the Beach Carrier. Another con to this system is that Ricci may not be reaching enough of the target consumers through her system. Her target demographic, women, would not necessarily be reached by a Boating magazine. His distillation of love to an animalistic desire can be seen as either the height or death of romanticism. One may argue that such uncontrollable hormonal puppeteering undermines the human element of restraint or a more noble idea of love as unique companionship. In a sense, Lawrence challenges the notion of separation between and the beasts; he suggests the protestant fueled traditions of courtship are not a sign of human elevation, but a convolution of instinct that is as primal as the lust of thirst. However, Lawrence may also represent the life of romanticism, shaping such animal drive into the current of a more galvanistic construct of romance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was a stimulant to him to be in the homes of the working people, moving as it were through the innermost body of their life. His nerves were excited and gratified. He could come so near, into the very lives of the rough, inarticulate, powerfully emotional men and women. He grumbled, he said he hated the hellish hole. But as a matter of fact it excited him, the contact with the rough, strongly feeling people was a stimulant applied direct to his nerves. Benefits And Methods Of Effective Classroom Management Benefits and Methods of Effective Classroom Management According to a survey done in the 2011 2012 school year by the National Center for Education Statistics, only 38% of teachers felt somewhat prepared to handle classroom management and student discipline in their first year of teaching. Turnover rates for new teachers in the United States are between 30 and 50 percent within the first five years according to Cooper and Alvarado (2006) and part of this turnover rate is attributed to non effective classroom management. What teachers do in the classroom have two times the effect on student achievement and one of the most important things they do is managing classrooms. We can take this to mean that in reality no costs are completely avoidable or unavoidable. To Outsource or not to Outsource We are not in favor of outsourcing manifolds because of the following reasons: 1. The outsourcing of Muffler/Exhaust and Oil Pans, increased the OVH rate from 434% to 577% even though the total overhead amount fell. This new rate when applied to Manifolds made it cost inefficient despite some remarkable improvements in its production. This was because the fixed costs associated with the production of Muffler/Exhaust and Oil Pans were transferred to the remaining product lines. 2. It is quite likely that if Manifolds are outsourced then the costs associated with their production will be added on to the remaining two lines. Their cost classification will suffer and they could be next in line for a possible outsourcing. The plant may eventually shut down and so may the company in time. 3. Though the data is absent we feel that the allocation base should be machine hours instead of direct labor. This base should give a more accurate picture given the extensive mechanization of the plant and may provide some respite to the Manifolds operation in term of overhead cost allocation. 4. • 33. Environmental Conditions Of The United States Essay 2. Environmental Conditions In terms of climate, the region is characterized by high temperatures during most months of the year. Minimal rainfall is experienced mostly during winter but is usually irregular. The high humidity is caused as a result of the hot temperatures in Bahrain coupled with the shallow seas around. Bahrain is located in a region that has experienced an increase in urbanization over recent years. The quick population growth has occurred mainly in urban areas. The result of this rapid growth has caused an increase in UHI (Urban Heat Island). Increased UHI intensity associates with increased energy consumption, in using the cooling system in particular (Al Obaidi, Ismail Rahman, 2014). Being that the cooling system is the region s major concern, it only translates to more energy consumption. With the high energy consumption, it is therefore worrying to imagine that the main energy source being used in the region is still derived from fossil fuels. This concern was expressed by the chief economist at DIFC, Dr. Naser Saidi. In his opinion, the GCC countries should act with caution regarding their use of the oil reserves instead of relying on them for financial support. Dr. Naser alleges that Kuwait will run out of oil by 2017 whereas Saudi Arabia s reserve will be spent by 2035 that is if they continue using at their current rate (Gulf Business, 2012). • 42. The Outsiders Analysis While most teens do not accomplish much by the end of their high school journey, Susan Eloise Hinton outranked most teens by publishing her first novel by the age of seventeen. Born in 1950, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hinton had always been one for reading. Although, as an article from Contemporary Literary Criticism Select clarified, Hinton had little to no options of novels to read for young adults. This helped to inspire her to write her first story in that she would then have something to read that contrasted from the Mary Jane Goes to the Prom junk, as Hinton had described many of the popular books for her age. She wrote numerous stories throughout her writing career, such as The Outsiders, That Was Then, This Is Now, and Rumble Fish, among others. Many of these novels were later created into film to further spread the phenomenal works of Hinton. Her story of a gang rivalry quickly became a success. Krischer from the New York Times, states that since the novel had first been published, over fifteen million copies have been sold. The Outsiders follows the perspective of a young teen, Ponyboy (Pony) Curtis, as he tells his story of brotherly love within the gang, as well as recognizing the similarities between the rival gangs within the town. Hinton portrays these strong themes through her beautiful character development and intriguing plot that resulted in a timeless classic, The Outsiders. • 43. Core Concepts In Sociology After watching Core Concepts in Sociology, the primary concern presented is that, we as human beings are absolutely lost and unaware of different cultural standards and social norms. In my estimation, few individuals try to fathom the culture outside of middle class white America. Several individuals do not want a big house, with a picket white fence, or a new car every three years. Societies fail to comprehend that the gender roles placed on men and women mostly occur in middle class America. In my assessment, societies do not pay attention to the gender role of a poor class black woman. One can make the argument that a misunderstanding of cultures and norms is the leading cause of the problems in today s world. Although, some may consider that we are moving towards a global culture, most individuals believe we are further apart. In addition to being absolutely lost and unaware of different cultures, the organizations that are socializing us may be corrupt. As Americans, we are Ethnocentric, which is a major issue in my opinion. If people do not dress like Americans or value the things we value, they are considered substandard. We are totally lost and unaware of different culture standards and social norms. For instance, some Americans consider that all Muslims are terrorists, when Muslims ... Most of the world does not care about cars, enormous mansions, or a six figure income. The culture in America is based on money. The problem is that we as Americans value money over the life of a human being. That exact point shows when America is willing to invade a country for the up keeping of their possessions. • 46. Essay about The Faith of Mary Rowlandson The Faith of Mary Rowlandson In her writing titled A Narrative of the Captivity and Restauration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson , Mary lies out for the reader her experience of being held in captivity by Indians during the King Philip s War. Perhaps one of the most significant aspects of this writing is the glimpse that the reader gets into Rowlandson s faith and religion. Faith was a major aspect of life in the Colonial Period. It was of widespread belief that God was to be feared, and that he was the only way to redemption (Kizer). Mary Rowlandson was no different, but the extreme conditions of her captivity caused her faith to occasionally waiver. Most of the time throughout her journey in captivity, she depended on God, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She writes And here I cannot but take notice of the strange providence of God in preserving the heathen... (Rowlandson 450). At this point Mary cannot seem to help but to contemplate why God is allowing the Indians to prevail in this war. There was no denying the stark differences between the victories of the English and the Indians. Consider the fact that the Puritans were Christians of the strictest variety, and they did not believe that the Indians were blessed with God s grace. It is quite understandable then that Mary would find it troubling that her people were suffering devastating effects of this war fought by people who were not even Christians. So she questions whether or not this is God s work. In the end she concludes that God is not helping the Indians, rather he knows that the English are not ready for his mercy, and her faith is restored once again (Rowlandson 450). As Mary s story unravels, she continues to suffer long hours of work, starvation, and separation from her family. She reads her holy bible and is constantly reminding herself that God is with her and will see her through these trials. Her spirits are lifted her master agrees to sell Mary to her husband, and her mistress begins the journey with her, but before long the mistress decides not to go any further and they turn back. Not long after, she starts to loose hope that she will ever be reunited with her family. She becomes discouraged, and her spirit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
