Informative Essay On Cats
Cats can be intelligent, and wonderful pets. Sometimes its unbelievable what they do in their everyday
life. There are so many breeds, that I plan to learn more about. Cats can control their feelings, and
emotions. They are good at hunting, because they are strong and agile. There are many cat breeds, but
I m only gonna talk about a few of my favorites such as, American curl, Cornish rex, and the Ocicat. I
chose these because I thought they were very unique, and different, like the American curl most were
made from a mutation in the cats D.N.A, which caused the cats ears to curl. (Fogle Bruce) The
American curls get there names by the way their ears curl back at 90 180 degree angles. They were
discovered in June 1981, by 1986 they were

The Challenges Of Minecraft
What is probably not obvious in Minecraft is that the game simulates life experiences in a real world.
As in real life situations, a person needs to have the resources necessary to survive in the day to day
living, such resources as food and shelter. A person needs food for nourishment and a shelter to be safe
from external threats, whether it be natural or manmade.
The same is true in Minecraft. Minecraft incorporates challenges that a player has to overcome to
achieve the wide ranging goals of the game, such as, breeding animals, constructing bigger structures,
mining diamonds, crafting iron tools and armors to name a few classified as medium difficulty.
The first thing to do to survive is to collect all the necessary resources in order ... Show more content

#5 Building Craft an Obsidian, a rare resource you will need to create other resources such as

#6 Knowing negative health Knowing what damages your health helps in not dying in the game.
There are two basic types of negative health: hostile mobs and illness. Falling ill could be anything
that drains your health bar that could lead to your death like swimming in lava pools without a fire
resistance potion. Fortunately, you can avoid illness by eating until your food bar is full.
#7 Preparing for combat, craft your sword but start with the wood and work yourself up to a sturdy
diamond sword. Know the limits of your sword to, its effectiveness and range so you can time your
hits on your enemies as they approach near you.
#8 Crafting your bow and arrows can be a bit tricky as the materials for these are not harvested in the
same way as other items are. The string comes from a Spider which means you need to kill spiders to
collect the string the Spiders drop. The bow is equally challenging as this is made out of a flint, a stick
and a feather. The feather comes from the chicken in your farm. Or, you can collect the bow and
arrows dropped by Skeletons in

Experiential Approach Paper
Experiential Approach
Experiential approach is based off of a humanistic movement where personal growth and the
expression of meaning and feelings are vital (Wetchler Hecker, 2015). Therapists use the experiential
approach to share their personal feelings and use action oriented techniques to guide clients
throughout the session (Wetchler Hecker, 2015). The goal of experiential approach is to increase
physical and emotional health, increase wholeness and balance, and bring awareness to personal
responsibility (Wetchler Hecker, 2015).
A counselor may use experiential approach in couple s therapy to bring about a healthy emotional
development in the relationship. For example, a couple comes into counseling because of intimacy
issues. Using the experiential approach, the counselor can bring light to the couples emotions and each
of them will learn to accept one another needs (Wetchler Hecker, 2015). The strength in this
circumstance is both individuals in the couple will feel secure, intimate, and connected (Wetchler
Hecker, 2015). A limitation in this circumstance is if the couple does not accept the feelings ... Show

For example, a couple came to counseling because the husband has an extreme amount of anger and it
keeps building up. A counselor would use cognitive behavior approach to teach the husband different
self soothing techniques, self talk, and time outs between partners (Wetchler Hecker, 2015). The
strength of using a cognitive behavioral approach in this circumstance is teaching the husband how to
calm down in situations where he has heightened anger (Wetchler Hecker, 2015). A limitation in this
circumstance is if the relaxation techniques do not work for the husband. In this case, the counselor

Emotional Intelligence among High and Low Self-Monitors
Introduction Humans communicate in a wide variety of different ways. Some of the ways we
communicate such as speaking directly to another person is easy to recognize as a form of
communication. On the other hand, some of the ways we give and receive information with those
around us is not as easily recognizable. Communicating nonverbally is something we as humans do
every single day of our lives though we may not be able to pinpoint exact circumstances for when
nonverbal communication is required or when it is the best form of communication for the situation.
Some people seem to effortlessly communicate and engage with the outside world while others find it
to be a far more difficult process. There may be an answer as to why ... Show more content on

Low Self monitoring Low self monitors have really taken to Polonius advice of being true to their own
self. Individuals that do not conform their behavior to fit in with social demands have been labeled as
low self monitors. These people are controlled from within and do not let social situations impact their
behavior. The self image that they present is accurate of their true attitude and affective states (Mill,
1984). Low self monitoring individuals express their true feelings and attitudes and seem to expect
others to do the same, often accepting the behavior of others at face value (Mill, 1984). Far removed
from the chameleon like nature of the high self monitors, low self monitors either do not possess the
ability to mimic behavior or are unwilling to adapt to social expectations and demands (Mehra, Brass,
Kilduff, 2001). While high self monitors may have a large number of acquaintances that they have
friendly interactions with, low self monitors are more likely to have a smaller group of people that
they are actually friends with. People that have a lower level of self monitoring are often more
committed and attached to employers, dating partners, and friends than those with a high level of self
monitoring skill (Kilduff, Day, 1994). When compared to people that identify as high self monitors,
those who possess a lower skill of self monitoring are less likely to put effort into discovering

Cause And Effect Essay On Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor The events of the attack on Pearl Harbor happened on December 7th 1941 at 7:48 AM
Hawaiian time Sunday morning. A day that will always be known in infamy, Japan launched a surprise
attack against the Pearl Harbor naval base located near Honolulu, Hawaii. Japan s offensive was
planned by Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku, commander in chief of Japan s Combined Fleet, while the
attack itself was led by Vice Admiral Nagumo Chuichi. The attacking fleet consisted of the following:
6 Aircraft Carriers 2 Battleships 2 Heavy Cruisers 1 Light Cruiser 11 Destroyers Multiple submarines
with mini subs attached Several tanker support ships The carriers launched 354 aircraft in total,

Due to the timing and the nature of the surprise attack most of the damage dealt to the U.S. forces
happened in the early stages of the attack. U.S. aircraft losses were high due to the fact that most of
the planes were parked in the open and positioned wing tip to wing tip to prevent sabotage, while this
was effective against the perceived threat it left the planes wide open to strafing runs by the attacking
Japanese planes. Aircraft losses incurred by the attacks amounted to 188 destroyed and 159 damaged
in total. The bulk of these were taken out before even being able to get in the air. The target of Japans
attacking forces was the Pacific Naval Fleet, fortunately at the time of the attack the primary targets,
being the three U.S. aircraft carriers commanded by the Pacific fleet, were not in the harbor at the time
of the attack. The other main targets consisted of the eight battleships located within the harbor. The
battleships attacked consisted of the following: USS Arizona Exploded, complete

Medical Procedures During The Nazi Rule
Medical Procedures During the Nazi Rule
During the Nazi Party s rise to power, it held a strong influence on not only the German people, but as
well as all of conquered Europe. It was able to coerce regular citizens into joining one of the most
destructive genocides recorded in history by turning them into antisemites, and, in some regards,
murderers. It is important to learn from history about the power a government has over the influence
of their citizens, particularly in the field of medicine. The main purpose of this paper is to describe the
Nazi party s role in the development and research German medicine, specifically on: the physicians,
that became loyal to the state rather than their patients; eugenics, in which the goal was to spawn a
master race ; human experimentation, which was done on whoever the state deemed undesirable; and,
finally, racial purification, the elimination of individuals that the state believed lead a life unworthy of
life .This paper does not note all of the experiments, victims, perpetrators involved or the locations in
which the medical atrocities were carried out. It will focus mainly on the idea of racial purification,
specifically in Auschwitz Birkenau, the main extermination camp, providing the accounts of several
victims that were subject to the medical experiments, and addressing the medical community,
specifically Dr. Josef Mengele, as perpetrators of the genocide of millions of people.
The Nazi Party had the ability to

Criticism Of Modernism In Virginia Woolf s To The Lighthouse
Virginia Woolf was born Stephen in 1882, she passed away in 1941. She had four siblings and grew
up in London, but St. Ives in Cornwall was the long term summer residency of her family. Her mother
passed away in 1895, which was the starting point of Virginia Woolf s history of depression, within a
ten year period her father and her elder brother also died (Lavizzari 1991 251). These biographical
aspects are relevant, in so far that some events of to the Lighthouse are influenced, or mirror them. To
the Lighthouse was Woolf s fifth novel and the publication with which she felt that she finally had
successfully established herself as a writer (Bell 1980 137).
Woolf herself tried to reject her Victorian and Edwardian age literary influences, which constitutes a
key feature of modernism in general, but did not fully succeed in doing so (Whitworth 2000 150). In
her essays, such as Mr Bennett and Mrs Brown (1923), How should one read a book (1926) or
Reading (1919), Woolf outlined what she expects of fiction. Still, she praises the astonishing vividness
and reality of Victorian characterisation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Central to this analysis of spatial semantics in To the Lighthouse are her essays Modern Fiction
(1925), Mr. Bennett and Mrs Brown (1923), What is a Novel? (1927), On Reading (1919) and
Character in Fiction (1924), which discuss aspects relevant for a semantic analysis of her own work.
In addition to a great variety of other opinions published on the structure of To the Lighthouse, these
essays shall be also considered. Qualities known to be important for Woolf s composition of a novel
are her rejection of Victorian materialism (Bell 1980a 159), which does not preclude the importance
she sees in a fruitful building of characters, opposing what Virginia Woolf called a lack of real, true
and convincing characters (Bell 1980b

The Crucial Role of Native Americans Essays
For the better part of American history, the Indians have been viewed and portrayed as dimwitted,
helpless victims that aimlessly stood by while the Europeans conquered their land, but this view has
recently come under fire and has been overturned, as it was determined to be misleading and
inaccurate. Two historians that have questioned the legitimacy of past beliefs regarding the Indians are
Charles Mann and James Axtell. Each has made it plainly clear in their articles that the actions of
Indians should no longer be treated as useless footnotes on the pages of history. While their articles are
on seemingly different subjects, their views and beliefs on the importance of Indians in American
history are incontrovertibly the same as both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tisquantum was using the oblivious Europeans for his own means, and although he never achieved his
goals, it is worth pointing out that he had ulterior motives for aiding the Pilgrims in their time of need.
Mann does a good job of supporting his opinion and showing that Indians were not just aloof and
passive but conniving and manipulative like their European counterparts. Unfortunately, in the end all
the planning and trickery in the world couldn t have saved the Indians as they were just simply
outnumbered and technologically inferior to the Europeans. James Axtell wrote the article entitled,
Colonial America Without the Indians and it goes into extreme detail to pinpoint the impact that the
Indians had on American history. Axtell picks out important events that irrefutably made the U.S. the
country it is today and shows what may have happened had the Indians not been in existence. For
example, America may not have been settled as quickly if not for the Indians because explorers
wouldn t have known of the hidden gold and silver deposits, many early settlements would likely have
failed without knowledge and support from the Indians, and guerilla warfare was practically taught to
the Americans by the Indians and became a central piece in the winning of the American Revolution.
Most importantly, however, contact with the Indians helped Americanize the settlers. It was the
changes in the European culture brought on by the Indians

Blindness can be caused from an accident or a disease (10). One victim of blindness, Stevie Wonder,
has overcome it by making music and performing. His positive outlook on life helps him achieve
many things (79). Being blind means a person is sightless or is unable to distinguish dark colors from

In future technology, surgeries, such as implant surgery and transplantation of retinal tissue may help
blind people (Marcovitz 73, 76). In 1831 Perkins School for the Blind was the first school to help
blind people read, communicate, and speak. Later, Louis Braille discovered Braille, a code using dots
and dashes for the alphabet (34). When rubbing fingers across it, the markings indicate certain
numbers or letters (33). Guide dogs can also aid the blind when walking around so they know where
to go (45). Groups such as the American Foundation for the Blind and National Federation of the
Blind help provide assistance and new laws for blind people and their families (41). Preventing eye
disease and blindness is important. Wearing protective eyewear, and practicing healthy habits like
exercising and eating well (Marcovitz 68) can prevent blindness. Getting regular eye exams (Worth)
can also help detect it earlier as well (Dahl). There are many people worldwide and in America who
are blind. About fifty million people around the world (Dahl) and over one million Americans
(Marcovitz 6) are totally blind (Dahl). Therefore, it is essential to take steps to prevent blindness.
Stevie Wonder, one of the many affected by blindness, was born on May 13, 1950 in Saginaw,
Michigan where his love for music began. Wonder was born prematurely and has been blind since
infancy because the blood vessels in his eyes were not fully developed (Marcovitz 6) but, he believes

Prognosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Hodgkin s Lymphoma Hodgkin s Lymphoma, also known as Hodgkin s disease, is a cancer that
effects part of the immune system. The lymphatic system is knots of tissue. Lymph nodes work as tiny
filters, straining out foreign organisms and cells. The lymphatic system provides important white
blood cells called lymphocytes. The body has a reaction to infection that may cause lymph nodes to
swell and get tender As Hodgkin s Lymphoma progresses it makes it more difficult for the body to
fight infection. Lymphoma occurs when the lymph node cells begin to multiply uncontrollably; this
can lead to producing malignant cells that have the ability to invade other tissues throughout the body.
It is common in two different age groups 15 35 and older adults over age 50. It is slightly more
common in males, and Caucasians. There has been some progress in treating Hodgkin s lymphoma,
most people with this diagnosis will be long term survivors.
Prognosis continues to improve for people with Hodgkin s.

The Labor Force In Mr. Wonka s Charlie And The Chocolate...
The publication of the 1964 storyline of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory associates to the politics
and history of the United Kingdom. During this time, the labor force in the story directly relates to the
labor anxieties expressed in the UK. According to Robert Miles and Annie Phizacklea, the British
Nationality Act of 1948 released the labor market and British citizenship to the New Commonwealth,
men and women from the Caribbean and the Indian sub continent who came to sell their labor power
for a wage in British factories (Miles Phizacklea 1984). Once these men and women arrived, they
were instantaneously assumed as low grade, separated from the white and there human appearance
was questioned. Therefore, the men and women were later called the domestic class in the British
Empire, within the primary fragments of the slave trade. This relates to the story that Grandpa Joe tells
in the 1964 book. He states then one day, all of a sudden, Mr. Wonka had to ask every single one of
them to leave, to go home, never to come back (Dahl 19). Grandpa Joe then says, the factory opened
again however, nobody...ever...comes...out and nobody...ever... goes... (Dahl 17). He explains the
rising and falling of the factory and how Wonka fires his entire staff, rebuilds his chocolate factory
with hidden workers, the Oompa Loompas. Wonka explains his compassionate reasoning for

upperclassman long distance runner during my junior year. While the track coaches were busy with
the short distance runners and field events, they trusted me to watch over and teach the JV runners. I
made sure that all of the kids would do the complete running workout. I made sure to be a good
example for hard work in track also. I would push myself as hard as I could every day in order to
instill a good work ethic into the kids. By improving my running times every week, the kids learned
that the only way to succeed is through pushing themselves as hard as they can. I feel a great sense of
pride and enjoyment when I watch the kids improve in the sports I helped them with. My goal when
leading was not only to help the kids be the best they can be in their sport but more importantly teach
them life lessons that will help them throughout their life. Mentoring these kids showed me that

New in the Forex Market
New in the Forex market? This market may sound really complicated and scary to tackle but it s not.
Just like in any kinds of trade, you make money when you buy low and sell high. Forex trading is
simply trading currencies in the Forex market. Forex is the largest financial market in the world. It
generates trillions of dollars of currency exchanges everyday and it operates 24 hours a day and seven
days a week therefore, also making it the most liquid market in the world. In the world of Forex,
trading in this very liquid market is very unique compared to other financial market like stocks. Since
the Forex market operates 24 hours a day worldwide, which starts at Sydney and ends in New York,
trading is not centralized in one location. You can trade in Forex whenever you want regardless of the
local time. In the past, Forex trading was only offered to large financial institutions, like banks. And, it
was also only offered to large companies, multi national corporations and large currency dealers. This
is because of the large and extremely strict financial requirements the Forex market imposed. This
means that individual traders and small businesses are not able to participate in this liquid market.
However, in the late 90s, Forex was made available to individual traders and small businesses. This is
due to the advances in the communications technology. High speed internet made it possible for
people to enter the Forex market and have become one of the best make money at

Regulatory Oversight And Recall Of President Lyndon B....
Regulatory Oversight and Recall Congress began to hold high profile hearings on automobile safety in
1965. In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed both the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle
Safety Act and the Highway Safety Act into law. The two bills gave the federal government authority
to set and enforce safety standards for vehicles and roads. The NTMVSA was the first legislation
mandating federal safety standards for motor vehicles. Although the safety standards in the NTMVSA
were watered down in response to industry lobbyists, it required important safety features that the
current generation of car drivers would never expect to be absent from a vehicle: seat belts for every
passenger, impact absorbing steering wheels, rupture resistant fuel tanks, door latches that stayed
latched in crashes, side view mirrors, shatter resistant windshields, windshield defrosters, lights on the
sides of cars as well as the front and back, and the padding and softening of interior surfaces and
protrusions. (History.com) Also in 1966, two new government agencies the National Traffic Safety
Agency and the National Highway Safety Agency were created to carry out the safety programs
authorized under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and the Highway Safety Act. The
two agencies were consolidated in 1970 and became the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration ( NHTSA ). NHTSA is responsible for reducing deaths, injuries and economic losses

Comparing the Living Dead in James Joyce s The Dead and...
Dubliners and The Living Dead
In his work The Dead, James Joyce utilizes his character Michael Furey, Gretta Conroy s deceased
love from her youth, as an apparent symbol of how the dead have a steadfast and continuous power
over the living. The dominant power which Michael maintains over the protagonist, Gabriel Conroy, is
that Gabriel is faced with the intense question of whether his wife, Gretta Conroy, loves him and
whether he honestly loves her. Joyce provides substantial information to persuade one to believe that
Gabriel does truly love his wife. Even though it is made evident to the reader that Gabriel possesses
such devotion and adoration for Gretta, Michael diverts Gabriel s confidence in his love, causing

Gabriel becomes distraught at the revelation of her statement. Joyce describes Gabriel s anguished
state, Generous tears filled Gabriel s eyes. He had never felt like that himself towards any woman, but
he knew that such a feeling must be love (Joyce 182). Gabriel is perplexed as to why, if Gretta loves
him so much, she still possesses memories of her first love. He also wonders why this important detail
of Gretta s life was not brought to his attention at an earlier point. Gabriel s recognition that he has
been excluded from what he believes to be the deepest experience of Gretta s life now becomes the
deepest experience of his life. Gretta s reaction to his questions about her first love causes Gabriel to
become overwhelmed by Michael Furey s control over him.
Gabriel by his ideas, his tastes, and his sensitivities has been isolated from others but always found
solace in his self esteem. Michael Furey has destroyed this. The tears gathered more thickly in his eyes
and in the particular darkness he imagined he saw a young man standing under a dripping tree (Joyce
182). Though Michael is certainly dead in body, he lives on in the memories of both Gretta and
Gabriel, and his influence can in no way be obliterated. Joyce depicts the power Michael has over
Gabriel, A vague terror seized Gabriel... as if... some impalpable and vindictive being was coming

The New Leader Of The Islamic Republic Of Afghanistan
In 2014, Ashraf Ghani was elected as the new leader of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. This was
the second time in the country s history that a direct election was held and a position of power was
democratically transferred. As a matter of fact, the country has made progress since 2001, when a
United States led invasion, with the help of UN, toppled the Taliban government. After decades of
being ruled mostly under an emirate, monarchy, and dictatorship, Afghanistan now runs under a
democracy. According to Huntington, democracy is where the most powerful collective decision
makers are selected through fair, honest and periodic elections in which candidates clearly compete
for votes and in which virtually all the adult population is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ripples of the fundamentalist movement s decisions changed the political course of the country
since its inception. In September 1996, the Taliban formed a government in the country and ruled it as
the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. It thrived in a post Soviet era when the Taliban promised stability
and prosperity after years of conflict within the country from other Islamic fighter groups.
Unfortunately, the Taliban had religious extremist views that were influenced by their own
interpretations of the Sharia or Islamic law. The group committed massacres across the land just to
gain control over the country. Soon, the Islamic law was brutally enforced by imprisonment,
executions, and amputations for those who disobeyed. Accordingly, the Taliban regime met opposition
from other countries and international organizations since the beginning. In fact, only the United Arab
Emirates, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia acknowledged the Taliban government. It finally came to the
point that the UN Security Council released resolutions in the late 90s regarding the Taliban s human
rights violations and their refusal to extradite another Islamic extremist group, Al Qaeda. This sparked
a 13 year war in Afghanistan that resulted in the loss of 92,000 people in which 26,000 were civilians,
and also displaced hundreds and thousands of lives. There are numerous reasons why the Taliban

Dayglo Fluorescent Pigments Research Paper
Fluorescent pigments are a special type of pigment that have the unique ability to reemit a greater
frequency of light. Fluorescent pigments absorb the light frequencies that are emitted onto them, and
reemit them. Fluorescent pigments stand out to the human eye making them a great pigment for
advertising use, children s toys, safety protection wear, and many other commercial uses. Fluorescent
pigments were invented in the 1940 s by the Switzer brothers. Bob was a working man and Joe was an
amateur magician. Unfortunately, Bob was seriously injured and fractured his head on the job. He had
to spend months in the hospital recovering from his injuries. Since his head was fractured, he had to
avoid bright light. Since they were in the dark all of the time, both Bob and Joe Switzer developed a
curiosity about illuminating fluorescent pigments to enhance Joe s magic show. ( DayGlo Fluorescent

Shortly after the Switzer brothers started the process, the common way of developing the fluorescent
pigment was the bulk polycondensation method. (Color Technology for Plastics). This method uses
the reactions of formaldehyde, melamine, and toluene sulfonamide. The method further developed in
the 1970 s when scientists found a technique to suspend a droplet, which allowed a higher degree of
polymerization. At first this method was very expensive and brought out a poor color, but as
technology further developed, the price fell and is now accepted in today s markets. The other
component of these pigments is the dyestuffs that are used. To get a different color of the dye, color

Advantages Of Adversarial Legal System
The origin of the adversarial legal system is very blurry and vague, but the system has been around
quite a while and approaches to handle criminal proceeding in a totally opposite method, compared to
the inquisitorial legal system. Before discussing the effectiveness and the advantages of a adversarial
legal system, it is a good idea to understand the system. Adversarial legal system began in England
with common law, and most countries with common law usually tend to follow the adversarial legal
system but some countries based on civil law like France, and the Netherlands follow the inquisitorial
legal system (). The main difference between the two systems is the role of judge, in an inquisitorial
legal system the judge is more involves with the case but in the adversarial legal system the judge s
role gets reduced to a neutral third party only to just hear the case, presented by the prosecutor and
defense attorney. In Canada our legal system is based around common law and hence resulting in our
adversarial legal system, the system is incredibly effective and features many advantages when
compared to its counterpart the inquisitorial system. The key elements which allow the adversarial
system to be effective are the role judge, fair opportunity for both defendant and prosecutor to present
their case while their rights being protected, and finally the introduction of the restorative justice.
The Role of the judge in an adversarial system is its greatest strength when

Mobile Phones And Its Impact On The World
Today, almost everything is done digitally either on laptops or mobile phones (smartphones), from
online shopping to online banking. These little things have become one amongst the most important
things to survive. Mobile phones have become ubiquitous; you can find a fifth grade kid with a
smartphone. There are more than a billion smartphones in the market and six billion mobile phone
subscriptions. With the rapid development of smartphones, things like watches, radios, cameras,
calculators and so on are fading out of the market. In the near future, we might be giving up our
leather wallet for a digital wallet.
Digital Wallets are not new; in fact, the first was released about four years ago. Since then, many other
companies have followed the same path, creating their own versions with their own unique features.
Apple, Google, Samsung, and PayPal all quickly developed a digital wallet, most compatible with all
smartphones with the exception of Apple and Samsung. Both Apple and Samsung only allow their
digital wallets, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, to be used on the smartphones and smartwatches their
companies develop. However, all of these mobile payment systems use the same technology to pass
credentials, near field communication (NFC) readers, with one exception, Samsung Pay.
Samsung Pay still uses NFC readers, but it also uses magnetic secure transmission (MST), which
means that Samsung Pay will work with all types of point of sale (POS) devices (old and new). This is

The Role Of Clothing In The Elizabethan Era
The Elizabethan era lasted from 1558 1803 while Queen Elizabeth 1 reigned over England until her
death. It was known as the height of the English Renaissance during which English literature and
theatre reached its peak. At the time there was also a lot of political conflict between the Catholic and
Prodestant churches. There was also a growth of wealthy middle class being able to live and dress like
upper class people.
Because of this Queen Elizabeth thought it was important to regulate the garments of the classes to
maintain the social order. There were already some laws present in England at the time, and Elizabeth
also passed her own laws, called the sumptuary laws to support these. This included limiting use of
particular materials and colours to certain classes and so it was easy to tell which class people
belonged to as their clothes was an indicator towards their wealth and status. Punishments for
breaking the laws included fines, loss of property and capital punishment.
Women s fashion in the Elizabethan era for women with a high status was a very elaborate process.
The garments worn were highly expensive, and a main silhouette of the era was the definition of a
small waist and large shoulders. Many of the outer clothing had slashes to expose some of the

Biometrics And The Black Market For Recognition Purposes
Just imagine walking into a GAP clothing store as a device measures a person s eyes for recognition
and then proceeds to deliver custom content on items previously purchased. In the futuristic sci fi
thriller Minority Report a scene, exactly as described, unfolds. The story was set in Washington D.C.
in the year 2054. While the film was filled with hero s, hacker s, and drama, a city wide optical
recognition system was used to identify its citizens. Minority Report gave an interesting perspective
on how biometrics might work in the future for recognition purposes. It also sparks the imagination on
what other forms of biometrics could be used to identify individuals. Is a journey to the black market

Biometrics is a term that refers to the broad amassment of various human characteristics. In computer
science, biometrics authentication is used for access and a form of identification. Biometrics can also
be used to survey and identify individuals in groups. Statistically, biometrics are unique and
measurable to only one individual. When biometrics are used in authentication they can be broken

The Debate Over Race And Intelligence
The debate over race and intelligence had been fueled in 1994 when Charles A. Murray and Richard
Hernstein published a book called, The Bell Curve. The Bell Curve was an analysis on the curve
between race and intelligence. Due to the book being published, scientists began working on multiple
tests to try to understand the correlation that was indicated in this book. This is such an emotional
topic to argue about because society could stereotype themselves based on a definitive answer about
race and intelligence. A white child could earn a 90 on a test, above the score that of a black child has
earned, but then an Asian child could outdo both of them. That is where the correlation can present
itself. Due to that example, race and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

There is a way to make a child smarter and that starts from an upbringing environment that is positive

different environmental factors that can contribute to the correlation between race and intelligence.
The American Psychological Association studies have shown that environmental factors can
contribute to an individual s intelligence factor. Different revolution factors, natural selection factors,
and environmental differences have an impact (Saletan 4). For example, a black kid living in a run

children feed off of their peers, either at school or even at home. People in disadvantaged groups

Why The American Diet Is The Key Factor Of Weight Loss
A somber fact that exists in American society is that thousands of Americans search for the unreal
dream of becoming thin. Every day someone is on a new diet, whether it d be your neighbors, friends,
or even your relatives. Dieters acquire many disguises such as the bandwagoner , and the promise
maker . Some Americans want to lose weight quickly and conveniently; therefore, a trendy diet
attracts the bandwagoner. The new, inexpensive fees at the gym might attract the promise maker, who
typically promises to go to the gym an ample amount of times each week. Although several of the
different dieters are successful, the majority of the bandwagoners and promise makers don t succeed.
Even though there are several different ways to lose weight, according to the ACE (American Council
on Exercise), Diet is the main key factor of weight loss .
With the idea of weight loss being significant in American society, companies have taken full
advantage by creating supplements that vow to help with reducing body fat. Hydroxycut, a company
that advertises their dietary supplements, use creative slogans that lure their friends, the bandwagoners
to their hotline. Slogans such as: You ve never looked better in black! jumble with people s emotions
in a positive way, making them more prone to buying these products. Hydroxycut s main focus is the
production of caffeine capsules; these capsules stimulate appetite while giving a boost of energy.

Essay on Art from Baroque Period Through the Postmodern Era
Art from Baroque Period through the Postmodern Era
Renaissance art history began as civic history; it was an expression of civic pride. The first such
history was Filippo Villani s De origine civitatis Florentiae et eiusdem famosis civibus, written about
1381 82. Florentine artists revived an art that was almost dead, Villani asserts, just as Dante had
restored poetry after its decline in the Middle Ages. The revival was begun by Cimabue and completed
by Giotto, who equalled the ancient painters in fame and even surpassed them in skill and talent. After
Giotto came his followers, Stefano, Taddeo Gaddi, and Maso, uomini illustri all, who, together with
notable jurists, poets, musicians, theologians, physicians, orators, and others, made ... Show more

While rare for being texts on art, they are of a type, however, that was common in Renaissance
literature. They belong to a genre or category in which are found some of the most characteristic texts
of Renaissance humanism. Other of the books in this category are by such writers as Bruni, Salutati,
and Manetti, books with which all students of the Renaissance are familiar. They treat broad moral and
philosophical issues, but, as in the accounts of visual art, only insofar as they concern the city of
Florence. And scholars reasonably have asked why there was such a preoccupation with Florence at
this time. One of those who did so was Hans Baron and his answer has been at the center of
discussions of this question since the 1950s.
Baron linked the focus on Florence during the years around 1400 to a struggle over Florentine
independence that began in 1390 with a declaration of war by Milan and ended only in 1454, when
Milan accepted the independent status of the Florentine Republic. These events, he proposed, explain
the direction taken by Florentine political speculation at this time, particularly the stress on republican
ideals of liberty and civic involvement; they gave rise to a distinctive type of humanism, rooted in a
new philosophy of political engagement and active life, and devoted to the celebration of Florence s
republican liberties.
Bruni was responding not to recent events in Florence, came the rejoinder, but

Capitalist Theory Of Capitalism
Capitalist structures were thought to be double hermeneutic by Weber. A double hermeneutic is a
theory, expounded by sociologist Anthony Giddens, that everyday lay concepts and those from social
sciences have a two way relationship. A common example is the idea of social class; a social scientific
category that has perpetuated into wider use in society (WIKIPEDIA, 2017). These people were a
group of religious scholars, who believed that the truth that is included within the text, is wider than
the words on the page. Through these religious scholars and their beliefs eventually led to the
evolution from a religious society to a capitalist society. The capitalist society that we live in today,
created a market system used from religious beliefs, presenting the payments for sins committed by an
individual in the future and for not confessing the sins committed in the present. Modern capitalism
still refers to Weber s theory today, showing interest of how each individual has their own path chosen,
depending on the amount of money they own, organising ourselves into different organisations as well
as, the different societies we join within the hierarchy. Through the different societies of our day to
day lives we see each of them joining together as one, expressing ideas and thoughts to create the
markets systems we see in this century.
So what is the structural drive for efficiency?

The Baghavad Gita, Yoga Sutras Of Patanjai, And The Hatha
The Baghavad Gita, Yoga Sutras of Patanjai, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika are all considered to be
revolutionary texts. Their teachings depart from earlier traditions and propose many approaches to
enlightenment. Through their definition of yoga or their philosophical goals, each contain some
similarities as well as aspects that make each of them unique.
The epic text of the Bhagavad Gita defines yoga as the skill of union with the ultimate reality or the
absolute. The work comes to us in the form of dialogue between Lord Sri Krishna and the princely
warrior Arjuna, which occurs just before the onset of the devastating Mahabharata war. The Yoga

concepts such as the body/soul distinction, the principle of nonattached action, the virtues of discipline
(yoga) and meditation. Jhana yoga is the first stage where a person acquires the knowledge of the
inner self through study and contemplation and becomes aware of the importance of realizing his true
self and achieving salvation. After acquiring knowledge, he turns to karma yoga to discharge his

Split Of Korea Essay
The Split of Korea
In 1950, South Korea developed its economy and was greatly influenced by the United States of
America. While North Korea followed the path of communism, South Korea discovered a better path
of developing their nation and becoming more unified as a family. The surrender of Japan to the allies
at the end of World War II was the catalyst in the split of Korea. North Korea then attempted to
conquer the Korean peninsula by force (Armstrong). South Korea focused on intensifying their
nationalism such as developing their own culture and the unity of factions. Additionally, South Korea
focused on improving the efficiency of its government system as it selected a new designated leader
and received support and funding from their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

obtained all parameters; political, military, and economic from the U.S and recovered from the Asian
financial crisis in 1997. On the other hand, North Korea developed a government having a highly
centralized political system. North Korea developed into the most isolated and controlled state

Disparities In St. Louis City
A number of reports from the Saint Louis Globe Democrat and Saint Louis Post Dispatch showed that
St. Louis city, specifically the areas near Lafayette Park, were struggling (Wiitsruck 2015). According
to The Saint Louis Post Dispatch, The long delay [in building the Distributor] has caused the
neighborhood to deteriorate. Many homeowners were speculating on the City buying their property
from them for the use of the expressway; now property values were plummeting as the threat of
development dissuaded new buyers from purchasing homes. (Wittstruck 2015). In addition to failing
housing markets near the proposed Distributor, there were delays in other highways and an increase in
racial and political tensions (Wittstruck 2015). One individual argued, this [expressway] passes
through the heart of the black area all the way... the reason they chose this route is because the land is
cheaper. But nobody cares what this may do to us. How many more people is this going to uproot?
(Wittstruck 2015). An important note is at the time of these tensions, racial tensions were present in all
of the United States as two champions of racial equality, Martin ... Show more content on

The advantages listed provided two main advantages to the University City area, those advantages
include: a decrease in travel time and traffic congestion relief (Lovelace 1952, 2 3). Consequently, the
expressway would have created six major disadvantages to University City (Lovelace 1952, 3). The
disadvantages include: depreciating the nearby residential area greatly, depreciate the Delmar business
district, local traffic issues, unreasonable costs, removal of the street car system in University city and
increase traffic complications in downtown St. Louis (Lovelace 1952,

Reflection Paper On Observation Of A Student
Over the past month I have been observing in Lebanon High school in a biology class. During my
time in this class I have observed a lot and have had a lot of great opportunities that have helped open
my eyes toward teaching, and the skills that are necessary to be successful in the field. While there I
had the opportunity to work with a student with learning disabilities. During this interaction I learned
how to best work with those who have a learning disability and that it takes the ability to think outside
the box when trying to explain to the student what the task is so that they are able to understand what
they are being asked to do.
While observing the student with learning disabilities I observed a few interesting qualities that this
student had that stood out from the other students. One of the qualities that I observed was that he was
quiet. Unlike the rest of his class who would turn around and talk with the kids behind them, he would
just sit there and wait for further instructions. Another interesting observation that I made was that my
student would be interested in his work, but as time went on he began to loose interest in his work and
would need someone to remind him to stay on task which was one of his accommodations. I found
that his ability to become unmotivated was more prevalent when he was taking notes with the class off
the smart board compared to when the class was in a group discussion and the teacher was asking
open ended questions.

Lipbra Constella In Greek Mythology
This constellation has its historical roots in Babylonian astronomy, but was also mentioned in the
myths of both ancient Greece and Rome. In the Babylon mythology, there was the god of the sun,
named Shmash who also had the virtues of justice, truth and balance. The scales symbols, such as
Libra constellation, also known as the Claws of Scorpio were held sacred especially to the god of the
Sun. Even in Greek mythology, Libra was called the Chelae which means Claws and theye were
considering it to be the part of the Scorpio constellation, but today the scientists believe it is more
familiar with the Virgo constelliation. In Roman mythology, the Romans associated this constellation
with the scales during the fisrt century before

There are so many breeds, that I plan to learn more about. Cats can control their feelings, and emotions. They are good at hunting, because they are strong and agile. There are many cat breeds, but I m only gonna talk about a few of my favorites such as, American curl, Cornish rex, and the Ocicat. As in real life situations, a person needs to have the resources necessary to survive in the day to day living, such resources as food and shelter. A person needs food for nourishment and a shelter to be safe from external threats, whether it be natural or manmade. The same is true in Minecraft. Minecraft incorporates challenges that a player has to overcome to achieve the wide ranging goals of the game, such as, breeding animals, constructing bigger structures, mining diamonds, crafting iron tools and armors to name a few classified as medium difficulty. Far removed from the chameleon like nature of the high self monitors, low self monitors either do not possess the ability to mimic behavior or are unwilling to adapt to social expectations and demands (Mehra, Brass, Kilduff, 2001). While high self monitors may have a large number of acquaintances that they have friendly interactions with, low self monitors are more likely to have a smaller group of people that they are actually friends with. People that have a lower level of self monitoring are often more committed and attached to employers, dating partners, and friends than those with a high level of self monitoring skill (Kilduff, Day, 1994). Gabriel is perplexed as to why, if Gretta loves him so much, she still possesses memories of her first love. He also wonders why this important detail of Gretta s life was not brought to his attention at an earlier point. Gabriel s recognition that he has been excluded from what he believes to be the deepest experience of Gretta s life now becomes the deepest experience of his life. Gretta s reaction to his questions about her first love causes Gabriel to become overwhelmed by Michael Furey s control over him. Gabriel by his ideas, his tastes, and his sensitivities has been isolated from others but always found solace in his self esteem. Michael Furey has destroyed this. The tears gathered more thickly in his eyes and in the particular darkness he imagined he saw a young man standing under a dripping tree (Joyce 182). Though Michael is certainly dead in body, he lives on in the memories of both Gretta and Gabriel, and his influence can in no way be obliterated. Joyce depicts the power Michael has over Gabriel, A vague terror seized Gabriel... as if... some impalpable and vindictive being was coming against him, gathering forces in its vague world (Joyce ... This was the second time in the country s history that a direct election was held and a position of power was democratically transferred. As a matter of fact, the country has made progress since 2001, when a United States led invasion, with the help of UN, toppled the Taliban government. After decades of being ruled mostly under an emirate, monarchy, and dictatorship, Afghanistan now runs under a democracy. In September 1996, the Taliban formed a government in the country and ruled it as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. It thrived in a post Soviet era when the Taliban promised stability and prosperity after years of conflict within the country from other Islamic fighter groups. Unfortunately, the Taliban had religious extremist views that were influenced by their own interpretations of the Sharia or Islamic law. The group committed massacres across the land just to gain control over the country. Soon, the Islamic law was brutally enforced by imprisonment, executions, and amputations for those who disobeyed. Accordingly, the Taliban regime met opposition from other countries and international organizations since the beginning. In fact, only the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia acknowledged the Taliban government. It finally came to the point that the UN Security Council released resolutions in the late 90s regarding the Taliban s human rights violations and their refusal to extradite another Islamic extremist group, Al Qaeda. Fluorescent pigments absorb the light frequencies that are emitted onto them, and reemit them. Fluorescent pigments stand out to the human eye making them a great pigment for advertising use, children s toys, safety protection wear, and many other commercial uses. Fluorescent pigments were invented in the 1940 s by the Switzer brothers. Bob was a working man and Joe was an amateur magician. Unfortunately, Bob was seriously injured and fractured his head on the job. He had to spend months in the hospital recovering from his injuries. Since his head was fractured, he had to avoid bright light. Since they were in the dark all of the time, both Bob and Joe Switzer developed a curiosity about illuminating fluorescent pigments to enhance Joe s magic show. Before discussing the effectiveness and the advantages of a adversarial legal system, it is a good idea to understand the system. Adversarial legal system began in England with common law, and most countries with common law usually tend to follow the adversarial legal system but some countries based on civil law like France, and the Netherlands follow the inquisitorial legal system (). The main difference between the two systems is the role of judge, in an inquisitorial legal system the judge is more involves with the case but in the adversarial legal system the judge s role gets reduced to a neutral third party only to just hear the case, presented by the prosecutor and defense attorney. In Canada our legal system is based around common law and hence resulting in our adversarial legal system, the system is incredibly effective and features many advantages when compared to its counterpart the inquisitorial system. • 29. The Role Of Clothing In The Elizabethan Era The Elizabethan era lasted from 1558 1803 while Queen Elizabeth 1 reigned over England until her death. It was known as the height of the English Renaissance during which English literature and theatre reached its peak. At the time there was also a lot of political conflict between the Catholic and Prodestant churches. There was also a growth of wealthy middle class being able to live and dress like upper class people. Because of this Queen Elizabeth thought it was important to regulate the garments of the classes to maintain the social order. There were already some laws present in England at the time, and Elizabeth also passed her own laws, called the sumptuary laws to support these. This included limiting use of particular materials and colours to certain classes and so it was easy to tell which class people belonged to as their clothes was an indicator towards their wealth and status. Punishments for breaking the laws included fines, loss of property and capital punishment. Women s fashion in the Elizabethan era for women with a high status was a very elaborate process. This is such an emotional topic to argue about because society could stereotype themselves based on a definitive answer about race and intelligence. One of those who did so was Hans Baron and his answer has been at the center of discussions of this question since the 1950s. Baron linked the focus on Florence during the years around 1400 to a struggle over Florentine independence that began in 1390 with a declaration of war by Milan and ended only in 1454, when Milan accepted the independent status of the Florentine Republic. These events, he proposed, explain the direction taken by Florentine political speculation at this time, particularly the stress on republican ideals of liberty and civic involvement; they gave rise to a distinctive type of humanism, rooted in a new philosophy of political engagement and active life, and devoted to the celebration of Florence s republican liberties. A double hermeneutic is a theory, expounded by sociologist Anthony Giddens, that everyday lay concepts and those from social sciences have a two way relationship. A common example is the idea of social class; a social scientific category that has perpetuated into wider use in society (WIKIPEDIA, 2017). These people were a group of religious scholars, who believed that the truth that is included within the text, is wider than the words on the page. Through these religious scholars and their beliefs eventually led to the evolution from a religious society to a capitalist society. The capitalist society that we live in today, created a market system used from religious beliefs, presenting the payments for sins committed by an individual in the future and for not confessing the sins committed in the present. Modern capitalism still refers to Weber s theory today, showing interest of how each individual has their own path chosen, depending on the amount of money they own, organising ourselves into different organisations as well as, the different societies we join within the hierarchy. Through the different societies of our day to day lives we see each of them joining together as one, expressing ideas and thoughts to create the markets systems we see in this century.
