What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Electronic...
Digitization has transformed the world order almost in every sector, including health sector. There
are numbers of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based tools and applications in
the health sector. Electronic Health Record (EHR), one of such popular ICT based systems, is an
electronic record system that acts as a depository of patients past and present medical records.
Clinical documentation, clinical test and imaging results, computerized order entry system and
decision support system are all comprised in EHR (Hayrinen, Saranto Nykanen, 2008). Thus EHR
can construct an errorless data management system for quality, safety and efficient healthsector.
EHR have both merits and demerits. From merit prospective, trying to avoid the fragile ambiguity

5. What does the term wildness means to Zoe, Henry, and Will? To you? He knows he s one of
us. P.240 I believe that this quote told by Zoe that shows that she thinks wildness is defined as
unusual. The reason I think this is because she says he s one of us . One of us is relating to their
family. Their family is very unusual. Zoe raising herself, Henry disappearing from being a heart
doctor to being an artist, Wil being her unknown brother that she never knew about, and so on. I
also believe that Zoe s term of wildness is unusual because when she made that statue and they
called it the Wild Thing . The cat, in his perspective, explained that it resemble her. If she and
Henry know that the statute resemble her they were exclaiming that she is a Wild Thing, and she
has wildness inside of her. Therefore, I believe that Zoe thinks the term wildness means unusual. I
huddled up to Henry and thought of the beautiful sculpture he d given me for Christmas the one
that had spoken to me that day in his studio saying it was for all the holidays and birthdays he d
missed. He d call it Wild Thing, set it right in the front yard. P.228 I believe that in this quote when

The reason why I think too much tameness can hurt people is because people can think you don
t want them over. For example, the quote up above, you can tell that Zoe wanted to leave. I
think it was because Henry was so tame it seem like he didn t even want Zoe over. Too much
tameness can t hurt animals mentally, and physically. For example, if Zoe had been tame
towards the cat, the cat would have never accepted her into her life. Zoe wasn t tame and was
wild towards the cat and never gave up. If you were tame the first time you begged the cat, you
would ve gave up. Animals need someone to take care of them. If it wasn t Zoe s wildness the cat
could ve died. Therefore, too much tameness can hurt people, and

Role of Food in Construction of Social Identity Essay
Food is a highly unique commodity, for though it is essential to every single person on earth, there
is no other commodity which is acquired and consumed in such diverse ways. It is a multifaceted
social instrument, serving to connect people across cultural boundaries while simultaneously
drawing lines through society, dividing people across raceand class. Though we have discussed the
connections between certain alternative foodmovements and the creation of a white identity, I
contend that the social mechanisms of food extend beyond the production of whiteness , and are
intricately bound up in the creation and perpetuation of other racial and class identities in Western
society. As the ways in which we consume and engage with food... Show more content on

By compartmentalizing food into such racial categories, the white consumer draws boundaries
between themselves and others .
Alternative movements, such as eating organic, also become performative of an elite sensibility
(Guthman 2003, 52), as food is used as a symbol of certain social and environmental values, while
the consumption of this food bolsters a sense of heightened moral superiority. Product
manufacturers have been particularly astute in rebranding even the most unhealthy of foods, such
as sugar, by re enchanting foods, projecting holistic notions such as the family farm across their
plastic packaging. These supermarket narratives play into consumer desires for healthy foods by
emphasizing freshness and sustainability (Reisch 2003), ideas which complement the white
ideology of food. In consuming these healthier foods, the white middle class consumer often
separates themselves from fast food eaters, who are viewed as mindless fools (Guthman 2003, 55).
Through this, it can be seen that the white consumer often assumes that the choice of what to eat is
similar for all, and is ignorant that levels and practices of food consumption have been shaped by
social ranking and

Group Dynamics And Work Teams
Chapter 10 Group Dynamics and Work Teams
After analyzing Chapter 10, Group Dynamics and Work Teams, the new concept that was taken
from it was the model of Group Development. As a professional engineer, I have been a part of
multiple teams that were given the task of creative projects. As every project experiences their
different problems, ours did the same. The teams were successful in the end, but of course, the
journey to those successes were extremely difficult. Through the tough patches of the projects, the
model of group development would have helped the team to effortlessly flow in regards to actually
building relationships and achieving team goals. Coming from my viewpoint, I assumed the
teams naturally followed the process to some extent, but after being introduced to the Group
Development Model, I realized that we were not follow any type of process at all. Most times,
problems occur, and we are faced with the challenge of trying to figure it out along the way as
we go. Managers should be equipped with the knowledge in order to have the ability in
understanding how groups develop and manage the group interaction, and task process at each
stage (Osland, 2007, P. 256). In order for our teams to be effective moving forward, I believe it
would be beneficial for us to operate accordingly based off of the model. The model of group
development breaks down the process into five different stages, which are known as: forming,
storming, norming, performing, and

The Movie Out There and Advertising of Canadian Beer
In today s market of technology and visual stimulation it becomes more and more important for
advertising campaigns to stand out and be innovative, and it is this idea that drove one Canadian
beer company to do something that had never been done before. In light of waning interest,
Kokanee, owned by the Labatt Brewing Company, enlisted the help of Toronto based Grip
advertisingagency to (with its entire yearly marketing budget) create something really big for there
next campaign. Grip s innovative response to this challenge was to do something completely new
and create an ad in the form of a full length feature film, which they would call: The Movie Out

The Movie Out There is a ninety minute Canadian indie film created as an entertaining alternative
to traditional advertising. The film follows three friends on their quest to save a business in the
small skiing town of Fernie, British Columbia by hosting a huge party. Along their journey they
encounter characters and sub plots that stem from Kokanee s long running advertising narrative of
the Kokanee Ranger. This narrative chronicles the attempts of the Ranger and the Kokanee Girls
to safe guard the Kokanee beer from the Sasquatch who continuously tries to steal it. These brand
mascots are ever present in the film, although slightly revamped. The Ranger becomes a duo of
rangers consisting of two young men: Glacier and Fresh who became the new mascots for

the United States (Levinthal, 2012). Controlling the importation of illicit drugs is not an easy task.
Statistics confirm the combined United States border stretches approximately 7,000 miles

drugs is unimaginable. Moreover, the government has designated four agencies to reduce the
interdiction of drugs entering into United Statesterritory. The four agencies for reducing illicit drug

traffickers use marine passages for importing drugs from overseas (Levinthal, 2012). According to

drug traffickers are using to import by sea is the use of semi subs, which can carry up to twelve
metric tons of cargo (Levinthal, 2012). In 2008, the Coast Guard seized seven metric tons of
Columbian cocaine due to Coast Guard s using helicopters and shooting the vessel down (Levinthal,

Non Human Primate Culture
This research paper will discuss the ways in which non human primates use different sound and
gestures to convey different feeling and emotions toward one another like humans. A primate is a
mammal of an order that includes the Lemurs, Bushbabies, Tarsiers, Marmosets, Monkeys, Apes,
and Humans (Oxford). What makes us humanare our language, our culture, and our behavior. We as
humans have feelings of joy, sadness, fear, anger, trust, and so much more, but have we ever
stopped to wonder how or if our nonhuman primaterelatives have and use these emotions just like
us. These next couple paragraphs will explain and discuss what emotions are felt and how emotions
are conveyed in the nonhuman primate culture. Primates have always been viewed as a species that
communicates by hand signals and other bodily gestures. The view that is now seen is that
comparative evidence suggests that primates are able, no less than humans, to intellectually

Jetblue Customer Service Delivery Breakdown
Introduction
This paper hopes to delve into the Jetblue Customer Service delivery breakdown, from February
14, 2007, that nearly caused the company to collapse. It will look at the customer service aspect
and compare the expectations of what the customer had come to expect and what the company
actually delivered. It will look into the customer service, that lead to JetBlue s early success and
competitive edge against other airlines. It will examine if the Low Cost Airline can continue to
maintain its High Frills Status. It will look at the impact the breakdown had on the customers,
stakeholders, the role ambiguity on how the employees and managers used to handle situations
with their wait and see mentality, and the lack of perceived situational control from its employees.
We will attempt to predict what JetBlue should try and prepare for and I will give my personal
opinion on JetBlue s response to the breakdown in service in regards to the customer service
communication gap and my recommendations with moving forward.

Violation Of Social Norms In The Classroom
According to National Post Ben Fields, a school resource officer at Spring Valley High School
has been fired for using unnecessary force to remove a student from the classroom. Videos taken
by the students in the classroom show Deputy Fields asking the student to leave; upon refusal, the
officer is seen wrapping his forearm around the student s neck and flipping her while she was still
sitting in her desk. The female student is then dragged, tossed across the room and finally
handcuffed while students watch. According to students, the female student was on her cell phone

The actions of Fields can be seen as a violation of a social norm. It is abnormal for a police officer
to use excessive force on a student who is posing no immediate threat, especially on a young
student. County Sheriff Lott has stated the forced used on the student was not part of training or
normal protocol ( It just makes you sick , 2015). The concept of social norm and subjective
construal can be seen. Construal is the way an individual views, understands, and interprets the
social world to be. In subjective construal, although the situation is the same, there are opposing
views on the way the people involved view, understand, and interpret the situation (Droogendyk,
2015). According to Antrobus, Bradford, Murphy, and Sargeant (2015) obeying the police is
strongly associated with an individuals own feelings about obeying the police and their ties to the
community. An individual who does not feel a strong tie to the community, in this case the school
environment, would feel fewer obligations to obey. In the article, the female student made it clear
that she will not hand over her cell phone or leave the classroom because she did not do anything
wrong. However, according to the teacher and administrator the student did and therefore needed to
be removed. Fields shared this view and seemed to think not only should the student be removed but
also force was necessary. The different opposing views demonstrate subject construal and how both

Summary Of The Worst Hard Time Egan
The Worst Hard Time is a historical disaster novel published in 2006 written by New York Times
journalist Timothy Egan. Egan wrote other novels about ecological disasters, such as The Big
Burn: Teddy Roosevelt and the Fire that Saved America. In The Worst Hard Time, the author
writes of families hit hardest by the Great Depression in areas like Texas, Kansas and the
Oklahoma panhandle. (66 86) Because The Worst Hard Time is a historical novel, it lacks many of
the same literary elements as other novel genres. For example, anecdotes and motifs are not very
commonly utilized. Regardless, the way it graphically paints the stark setting of the Dust Bowl.

people such as stockbrokers, CEOs, and Native Americans are told. Many of the characters in the

farmers who were saved economically by the southern plains only to be betrayed later by the Dust
Bowl. The story of George Ehrlich, a German from Russia, is representative of the racism

Song Of Roland And Inferno Comparison
The Song of Roland, an epic poem which tells of Charlemagne s excursions into Spain where he
was fighting the Saracens or Muslims, is a good example of militant Christianity. Charlemagne,
King of the Franks, is a militant committed militant Christian, and it is necessary to understand this
to make sense of his fighting the Saracens. As a militant Christian, one of his main goals was to
convert others to Christianity. This opportunity presented itself when Marsilla, leader of the
Muslims, offered to convert to Christianity if Charlemagnestopped attacking his men. The
messenger sent to inform Marsilla actually revengefully betrayed Charlemagne, and thus brought
about the defeat and death of the men making up the rear guard of Charlemagne s army. Roland,
the leader of the rear guard died a martyr and was taken directly to heaven by angels. In the story,

Only Inferno is written in the first person. Both are considered to be based on Christian beliefs

Song of Roland has a stronger emphasis on this point. Inferno, however, has a strong emphasis
on sin and the punishment which accompanies the sin; there are examples of sins and their
punishments. Both works state that evil or sin is contradictory to God s will. The Song of
Roland has a strong message about good always prevailing over evil and about God being on the
side of good. The story makes the point about a person having free will to choose, but also that
God does intervene sometimes to be sure that good prevails over evil. This message is not found in

Pros And Cons Of Naplan
HSC Minimum Standards: Missing the Real Concern
NAPLAN, the assessment program launched almost 9 years ago and already a subject of criticism

Standards Authority has attempted to address what they call falling standards in the NSW education
system, implementing harsher standards that mean preventing students failing to receive a Band 8
from receiving a HSC. These minimum standards , backed by former minister for education
Adrian Piccoli, have already garnered considerable attention and criticism. Already many parents
believe that their children will no longer be able to obtain a HSC, and they will do anything to try
and push up their child s result adding to the environment of already competitive pressure which
we see in schools throughout NSW, and further fuelled by so called NAPLAN practice books and

Thesis Of Chief Joseph s Speech
The thoughts and circumstances of Chief Joseph addressed in his speech involved many
examples that helped support his one main topic. This subject that Chief Joseph was attempting
to entail was that white settlers should not have done what they did to Joseph s people for their
wrongdoings affected them. The words that he proclaimed and spoke was about all the actions
done against his people, as well as, how the modest of treaties do not mean anything at all
anymore and unwanted apologizes for the people and land that he and his people lost tragically.
As I was listening to every word being spoken, I strongly agreed with his reasoning as it was true
and upstanding. What the white man did to his people and their possessions, such as land, game, or
rights, was not right and acceptable to publicity. So yes, but, nevertheless, the white man... Show

Public Relations Reflection
I just finished my first week of interning at Donovan Public Relations, and boy am I tired. Though
I may not have strayed from my desk very often, I was constantly being thrown new information
and processes of which I had not come in contact with previously.
My first day on the job started off like every other scared new interns, with extreme nervousness
and the need to be 30 minutes early. After arriving outside my officebuilding at 20th Street and
Park in Manhattan, I then proceeded to slowly work up the nerve to walk inside. This took about
two minutes. So, after these two minutes, I put my big girl pants on with my head held high and
marched inside. Once inside, I was greeted by four smiling faces and a large bright room, which I
could only assume as being the office. I knew that when I signed up to be an intern that I would be
working for a small company, but I never knew quite how small until that very second. Elisa, my
boss, was the first to jump up and greet me. She then proceeded to introduce me to everyone in the
office, Chloe, Dariel, and Jasmine. After we had made basic introductions, it was time to get down
to business, the confidentiality contract. Since DPR works with high profile clients, such as
Maroon 5 and Lenny Kravitz, this is crucial to the privacy of both the clients and the company. I
was then shown where I would be working, the desk in the corner, and given a laptop to use. Right
away Elisa gave me the task to begin doing media clips. Seeing as

Tiananmen Square Massacre Essay
With thousands left wounded, a seemingly countless number of citizens reported dead, and a
country left with a reputation in jeopardy. All of these were the consequences of a shocking and
devastating event which happened on the 4th of June 1989, the Tiananmen Square massacre.
Overtime this has been viewed as a major turning point in Chinese history. It catalyzed movements
for generations across the world.
Tiananmen Square is a city square in the centre of Beijing, China. It is named after Tiananmen,
Gate of Heavenly Peace. The square contains the Monument to the People s Heroes, the Great Hall
of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. Mao Zedong
died on September 9, 1976. At the time of his death, China was in a political and economic
dilemma. The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution (1966 1976) and factional fighting had left the
country much poorer, weaker, and isolated than it had been in 1965. A large amount of
experienced party officials, intellectuals, and professionals were deteriorating in prison or working
in factories, mines, and fields. Many schools had been closed, and an entire generation of young
people were unable to obtain an education. The ethics of China turned under Deng Xiaoping to a
form of market socialism. He introduced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Final Book Of The Divine Comedy By Dante Alighieri
Introduction
Paradise is the third and final book in the Divine Comedy series. It s taken me awhile to get
through them, but I ve managed to read all three books and write reviews for each of them. One
thing to keep in mind about this review is that the Questions Asked and Lessons Learned sections
might contain spoilers. If you don t want to have the book spoiled, go ahead and skip over them to
the Recommendation section.
History of Author
Dante Alighieri. Dante was the original writer of Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise. He was a well
known and well respected poet in the middle ages. His Divine Comedy (The three books I listed
above) is considered by many to be the best writing in the Italian language and is considered a
masterpiece of world literature. You could ask almost anyone who Dante was and they will
likely know who he is and be able to name The Divine Comedy as one of his works. He s so well
known in Italy that they refer to him as the father of the Italian language. He defended the
vernacular and would write in the Tuscan dialect for some of his works (The New Life, for
example). Because of this, many other writers of the time and in the future would follow the
precedent Dante set. His influence has been carried down from generation to generation. Proof of
this is found in his style of the interlocking three line rhyme scheme.
Mark Musa. Musa was the translator and note taker for of his own published version of Dante s
Divine Comedy. This was incredibly helpful,

Today, the park continues to be a popular destination for family outings and picnics; a more
healthful alternative to shopping malls.
The La Mesa Watershed is vital to the 12 million residents of Metro Manila as its source of clean
drinking water as well as clean air from the forest. The Ecopark also provides educational
opportunities for the public to become more environmentally aware. It serves as an outdoor
recreation area while at the same time showcasing different species of flora and fauna.
The rehabilitation of the park and the surrounding forest is a successful example of the joint effort
of both the public and private sector. On one end, the government should have been able to
maintain the park and preserve the forest on its own. However, with the infusion of private funds
and proper management, the park is now revitalized and the surrounding forest is nearly completely

Stepping Into The Dance Studio
Stepping into the dance studio for my first ballet class, mirrored walls and a long bar, I
immediately immersed myself into becoming the ballerina from my fairytale books. After that
first year I laced up my shiny black tap shoes for my first tap class, a new love was born. That love
was replaced only when I learned to clog. All three styles of dancehave unique characteristics but all
three have much in common.
Dance has certain qualities such as poise, grace, and balance. The first years of dance are basic
and fundamental moves but these evolve over time and with hours of practicing. I also learned
responsibility, time management, determination, and a good work ethic. Whether it was landing a
specific move in ballet or nailing a double time step in clogging, there is always something to take
from each style of dance. Ballet is the core, the foundation, of all of these styles of dance, the
balance and strength learned in ballet are used in tap and clogging as well.
Ballet was the first style of dance that I learned. As soon as I was old enough to take at Alicia s
School of Performing Arts in Benson, North Carolina my mom quickly signed me up for ballet. I
did ballet for fourteen years, up until I graduated high school. Over those years I had three
different instructors, all who had their own style of teaching, helping me become a better ballerina.
My posture improved as well as my confidence. Ballet works to improve the core strength and
power and teaches you how to move

Being Called Into Ministry Is More To Me Than A Job, It
Being called into Ministry is more to me than a job, it is a calling from the Lord Jesus Christ to
proclaim the Gospel to every tongue and nation. I did not enter the ministry for prestige, because
mother said I should, or for the monetary benefits. I entered the minister because The Lord placed
upon my life a strong calling to serve in a full time capacity. I was asked; how does someone
know that they are called to the ministry. I answered them in a question. Can you be happy doing
anything else? I believe the scripture to be inerrant and perfect and the complete word of God. I
will preach it, teach it and share in until the day I take my last breath of life on this earth. I have

This is the conclusion of desires for today s church member. However this is contrary to what the
Lord teaches pastors and teachers to do. Let me remind you that in 2 Timothy 4:3 5, the Bible
warns us that: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own
lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their
ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure
afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. What a powerful truth!
People want their own desires. There is an element regarding preaching we should consider. The
element is known as the mandate to preach . There are many references in the bible of mandates to
preach the word. To list a few that comes to mind are Matthew 28:19 2, Go ye therefore, and teach
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. 2
Timothy 2:2 states, And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same
commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2Timothy 4:2 Preach the word;
be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. And

Willa Cather has a strong admiration for the character Antonia in My Antonia. The introduction of
My Antonia states that the narrator and Jim were to write down all they knew of her in order to

she shows characteristics of being strong both inside and out. Also, it is very apparent that she

Stanislavski Differences In The Arts Theater
When reading the text given, my first reaction was that I was surprised that Stanislavski did not

information in the text that impacted me the most was the way the Moscow Arts Theatre had a

father around and not being called Daddy s girl any more emotionally affects her (Hillhouse 127).
In Huffington Post article, Moskovitch stated that the abandonment of a father may convince a

qualitative research is more likely to ask open question which is different from close question that

used for abortions is mifepristone also known as RU 486. Testing of the drug began in 1983
when the FDA issued a permit. Jan. 1993 President Clinton asked for the FDA to reconsider their

Technology Plays Significant Role Today s Society
Technology plays significant role in today s society. With advances in technology, the market of
smartphones has experienced a significant growth since Apple introduced the iPhone in 2007.
Technological advances have also paved way for wearable devices as the next generation of
mobile technology. A wearable device is a small electronic device which can be worn on the

Unfortunately, this is no longer the case, and natives are stripping away these creatures habitats for
commercial business. If things don t change, it is believed that orangutans will be extinct in the
wild in as few as ten years. This is something that can only be changed with human intervention.
Two major causes of orangutan endangerment are the illegal selling of baby orangutans and the
unlawful logging of the rainforest in which they live. The bond between a mother orangutan and
her baby is the longest childhood dependence of any animal in the world. Orangutans will only
have one child about every eight years. Baby orangutans nurse until they are about six years old
and then they still stay close to their mothers for a few more years. Female orangutans will
sometimes stay with their mother until their adolescents, in order to learn how to take care of their
own babies by watching their mothers take care of a younger sibling.
The already low natural population increase makes any killing a major threat to the survival of the
species. Because babies stay with their mother for so many years, the only way to capture one is to
kill the mother. Although highly illegal, baby orangutans are being sold as family pets as a high
commodity on the black market. When the babies

Essay On Arts Integration
When I was working for Girls Rock Math a summer camp that incorporates arts activities as a
method of teaching math concepts with the intention to spark young girls interest, I noticed a
significant increase in the girls interest when arts activities were present compared to when it was
just plain math. The first and second graders in my class appeared to be much more excited about
the subject and more concentrated when the teacher was trying to explain the instructions. This
discovery makes me wondering about the influence of artsintegration has on students learning.
Defined by The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, arts integration is an approach to
teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. By
integrating arts into core subjects teaching, educators are allowing students to learn through the arts,
with the arts or accompanied by art lessons. In fact, arts educationhas been constantly associated
with higher individual achievement.
Established in 2012, the No Child Left Behind Act confirms learning the arts as a core academic
subject that all school should incorporate. It puts arts on equal footing with the other core subjects
and paves the way for the arts to be recognized both as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One of reasons is educational budget cut due to previous years economic slowdown. The adverse
economic situation which requires redistribution of funds, accompanied by the sharpening focus by
national and state educational policy makers on core subjects achievements, directly impacts the
availability of arts programs at school. Unlike Japan, Netherlands, Hungary and other countries who

Family Is Family
Family is the most important thing in the world.
This famous quote by princess Diana always clicks into my mind when I hear the word family..
Families do have to face quarrels and struggles in life but the most important thing is that they
have to face it with full strength and patience. These deep relationships carry lots of baggage and
hurt as well. All the people in this world have to face complexities and conundrums of familial
love . It once happened with me too . Sometimes these problem get into such big issues but
sometimes people get over it because of the close and inseparable bond that exists. No matter what
happens between them , the people in a family never drift apart. I sometimes wonder that there are
some lucky people who are the part of such type of families. ... Show more content on

II had to now choose between my parents. For a moment, I felt like all of this was not real. But
yes, it was. It was not only me , I had two siblings behind me and the last of all my parents. I had
never even thought about leaving one of them. It was a very hard decision for me to make. But I
was a girl myself and I knew about my mom s ambitions and she obviously had the right to have
what she wanted . I thought that my dad was wrong and he was not doing the right thing to my
mom or to us. He was way too conservative and it was the oonnl thing my mom hated about him.
On thursday, when my parents asked me that what decision I had make , I replied to them:
I don t know what you guys think it is. You both are ruining a family, Its very difficult for your
children. Have you ever wondered how its gonna effect three of us or its just that you both think
about your ownselves. Its not that easy as you guys think atleast not for me because this family
meant a lot to me , I shouted.
There was complete silence in our house for 2 days when I made a decision. I approached to my
parents and

The Issue Of Affirmative Action
On the contrary, supports of affirmative action feel that this law is still needed in America to
help places of higher education have more diversity which will benefit companies in the long
run and it also helps companies be more diverse and it helps them thrive. In the past few decades
the number of minorities and females in places of higher education and companies have been
rising at a slow rate. During 2012, the health care industry was suffering from lack of medical
personal in the medical field; however, 16% of the U.S. population is Latino and 14% is African
American, these groups constituted only 9% and 7%, respectively, of the total U.S. medical
school enrollment in 2012 (Graces, paragraph 2). The rate of minorities enrolled in medical
school has been slowly rising over the years. Having minorities and females in a company helps
the company be more diverse while also giving the company employees that can help the
company thrive and be successful. Supporters feel that this law benefits people who usually would
not have a chance of attending a place of higher education or be a part of a company an equal and
fair chance. Supporters of affirmative action feel that it is positive discriminationand that it benefits
places of higher education and companies not discriminate against females and minorities. A
significant, amount of court cases have been brought up to the Supreme Court dealing with
affirmative action. One important court case that deals with affirmative

  • 3. Zean Alvarez Analysis 5. What does the term wildness means to Zoe, Henry, and Will? To you? He knows he s one of us. P.240 I believe that this quote told by Zoe that shows that she thinks wildness is defined as unusual. The reason I think this is because she says he s one of us . One of us is relating to their family. Their family is very unusual. Zoe raising herself, Henry disappearing from being a heart doctor to being an artist, Wil being her unknown brother that she never knew about, and so on. I also believe that Zoe s term of wildness is unusual because when she made that statue and they called it the Wild Thing . The cat, in his perspective, explained that it resemble her. If she and Henry know that the statute resemble her they were exclaiming that she is a Wild Thing, and she has wildness inside of her. Therefore, I believe that Zoe thinks the term wildness means unusual. I huddled up to Henry and thought of the beautiful sculpture he d given me for Christmas the one that had spoken to me that day in his studio saying it was for all the holidays and birthdays he d missed. He d call it Wild Thing, set it right in the front yard. P.228 I believe that in this quote when Henry was talking that he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason why I think too much tameness can hurt people is because people can think you don t want them over. For example, the quote up above, you can tell that Zoe wanted to leave. I think it was because Henry was so tame it seem like he didn t even want Zoe over. Too much tameness can t hurt animals mentally, and physically. For example, if Zoe had been tame towards the cat, the cat would have never accepted her into her life. Zoe wasn t tame and was wild towards the cat and never gave up. If you were tame the first time you begged the cat, you would ve gave up. Animals need someone to take care of them. If it wasn t Zoe s wildness the cat could ve died. • 4. Role of Food in Construction of Social Identity Essay Food is a highly unique commodity, for though it is essential to every single person on earth, there is no other commodity which is acquired and consumed in such diverse ways. It is a multifaceted social instrument, serving to connect people across cultural boundaries while simultaneously drawing lines through society, dividing people across raceand class. Though we have discussed the connections between certain alternative foodmovements and the creation of a white identity, I contend that the social mechanisms of food extend beyond the production of whiteness , and are intricately bound up in the creation and perpetuation of other racial and class identities in Western society. As the ways in which we consume and engage with food... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By compartmentalizing food into such racial categories, the white consumer draws boundaries between themselves and others . Alternative movements, such as eating organic, also become performative of an elite sensibility (Guthman 2003, 52), as food is used as a symbol of certain social and environmental values, while the consumption of this food bolsters a sense of heightened moral superiority. Product manufacturers have been particularly astute in rebranding even the most unhealthy of foods, such as sugar, by re enchanting foods, projecting holistic notions such as the family farm across their plastic packaging. These supermarket narratives play into consumer desires for healthy foods by emphasizing freshness and sustainability (Reisch 2003), ideas which complement the white ideology of food. In consuming these healthier foods, the white middle class consumer often separates themselves from fast food eaters, who are viewed as mindless fools (Guthman 2003, 55). Through this, it can be seen that the white consumer often assumes that the choice of what to eat is similar for all, and is ignorant that levels and practices of food consumption have been shaped by social ranking and ... Stepping Into The Dance Studio Stepping into the dance studio for my first ballet class, mirrored walls and a long bar, I immediately immersed myself into becoming the ballerina from my fairytale books. After that first year I laced up my shiny black tap shoes for my first tap class, a new love was born. That love was replaced only when I learned to clog. All three styles of dancehave unique characteristics but all three have much in common. Dance has certain qualities such as poise, grace, and balance. The first years of dance are basic and fundamental moves but these evolve over time and with hours of practicing. I also learned responsibility, time management, determination, and a good work ethic. Whether it was landing a specific move in ballet or nailing a double time step in clogging, there is always something to take from each style of dance. Ballet is the core, the foundation, of all of these styles of dance, the balance and strength learned in ballet are used in tap and clogging as well. Ballet was the first style of dance that I learned. As soon as I was old enough to take at Alicia s School of Performing Arts in Benson, North Carolina my mom quickly signed me up for ballet. I did ballet for fourteen years, up until I graduated high school. Over those years I had three different instructors, all who had their own style of teaching, helping me become a better ballerina.
