Essay Malaria
Malaria (also called biduoterian fever, blackwater fever, falciparum malaria, plasmodium,
Quartan malaria, and tertian malaria) is one of the most infectious and most common diseases in
the world. This serious, sometimes fatal disease is caused by a parasite that is carried by a
certain species of mosquito called the Anopheles. It claims more lives every year than any other
transmissible disease except tuberculosis. Every year, five hundred million adults and children
(around nine percent of the world s population) contract the disease and of these, one hundred
million people die. Children are more susceptible to the disease than adults, and in Africa, where
ninety percent of the world s cases occur and where eighty percent of the... Show more content on

To contract malaria, a mosquito, but not just any mosquito must bite a human. The only type of
mosquito that can infect humans with the malaria virus is the Anopheles mosquito. While there are
around three hundred eighty species of the Anopheline mosquito, only about sixty are actually able
to spread the disease to humans. Also, only female mosquitoes can distribute the disease, as male
mosquitoes do not feed on humans.
Mosquitoes pass malaria to humans through their salivary glands. Once the parasites have entered
the blood stream, they go to the liver. In the liver they mature and undergo reproduction, forming
merozoites. These merozoites enter the blood stream and inject themselves into red blood cells.
Once inside the blood cells, they reproduce rapidly and within forty eight to seventy two hours, the
blood cell bursts, releasing hemoglobin into the blood stream. It is the destruction of these blood
cells and the hemoglobin released into the blood stream that actually causes most of the symptoms.
While the most common way malaria is transmitted is from mosquitoes to humans, there are other
ways of catching the disease. One way is from mother to her unborn child. When a disease is
contracted this way it is said to have been transmitted congenitally. Another way is during blood
transfusions. This is why it is important to be tested for

A Thirst For Evil In Cholly Breedlove
The thirst for evil that Cholly Breedlove obtains in his adolescent life at the hand of Blue Jack,
and the hatred towards women he gains in his teenage years from Darlene, come together later
in his adult life, and lead up to Cholly raping his daughter, Pecola. A thirst for evil held by
Cholly Breedlove forms when he and Blue Jack ate the heart of a watermelon at a Fourth of July
picnic, at which Cholly witnesses a demonic scene making Cholly prefer the devil over God.
Cholly, sitting on the ground at the picnic, looks up to a man holding a watermelon above his
head, and thinks to himself, It must be the devil who looks like that holding the world in his
hands, ready to dash it to the ground and spill the red guts so niggers could eat the sweet, warm
insides. If the devil did look like that, Cholly preferred him (Morrison... Show more content on

Zara Case Memo
To: Zara Management
From:
Subject: Zara s US Expansion
Date: 2001
Background
Following is an analysis of Zara s current expansion strategy into the US retail market and
recommendations on future tactics to ensure a successful expansion. Zara s expansion strategy thus
far has been quite successful; however, with every new store opened, its ability to maintain an
efficient centralized production system and a strong, unique culture will be diminished.
Analysis
Let us first consider Zara s main competitive advantage before analyzing how current and potential
future strategies will affect this competitive advantage. Zara currently employs a design on demand
retail model allowing the company to bring the latest fashion trends from ... Show more content on

(See Appendix and above)
It is recommended that Zara maintain full ownership of new stores rather than choosing to
franchise. This will ensure the continuation of the strong Zara culture.
Zara s combination of cutting edge fashions and culture lends itself well to a European style,
fashion conscious consumer. While this type of consumer can be found in New York, this is not
representative of the entire US market. Retailers in small towns and urban sprawls rely more on a
shopping mall atmosphere. Adapting that strategy would undermine Zara s image. It is therefore
recommended that Zara target only major metropolitan areas which would likely have higher
concentrations of fashion minded individuals.
Zara currently employs no advertising at all. As word of mouth is very important in retail, this
low key approach is in line with Zara s culture. A well structured marketing campaign could,
however, spread the word of Zara s expansion across the US, while maintaining their mysterious
boutique type image. Billboards or print ads with a teaser approach could accomplish this goal.
Advertising will become important to increase Zara s profile during expansion. Due to its
comfortable profit margins, a modest advertising budget could be afforded.
Zara s US expansion will rely heavily upon continued emphasis on strong IT procedures both

Evaluation Of Routine Immunization Performance Essay
REVIEW OF Routine Immunization Performance In Pakistan
May 11th 24th, 2015
Hashim Elzein Elmousaad
1. Introduction and Background
Socio demography:
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has 4 provinces, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and
Baluchistan besides the federally administered territories and the capital Islamabad. The population
of Pakistan is estimated at 182 million in 2013 with an annual population growth rate of 2%.
Pakistan is having a birth cohort of 6.2 million infants, with 5.82 million surviving infants [1].
Routine Immunization and Polio Eradication:
In 2013 the UN Inter agency Group for child mortality estimation, showed that about 50% of under
five deaths occur in only five countries: India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of the
Congo and China [2]. It estimated that Pakistan has a child mortality of 86 per 1000 live birth.
About 25% of these deaths are attributed to vaccine preventable diseases. In recent years the
Pakistani routine immunization program faced many bottlenecks, which resulted in declining and
stagnant coverage rates of all antigens leading to increasing vulnerability of children to vaccine
preventable diseases. Last large measles outbreak was reported to kill more than 306 children [3].
Administrative coverage data shows relatively high immunization coverage (DPT3 85%) across the
last few years. However, EPI management and partners doubt the data quality and reliability.

writing in science fiction earned him a lasting impact there as well.
Having composed tales of terror and barbaric behavior treasure mystery became another genre
that can be traced back to Poe. He made people feel like they were actually apart of his stories.
The style and way the words flowed on the page made Poe s stories unforgettable to everyone who
read them. Much of his fame isn t just from the tales he wrote, a heap of his fame comes from the
insight he had into new advancements.
Applying most of his originality and strict style to poetry he showed how a poem like The Raven
could be popular but also, suit many critics taste. Poe s different approaches to literature earned him
the respect from numerous authors. In conclusion, Edgar Allan Poe wanted people to understand the
importance of the writing as well as of the creator. He has a lasting impact in the literature world as

Emily Grierson s Resistance To Change
In this southern setting after the Civil War, Faulkner exposes the theme of resistance to change.
A Rose for Emily is an assessment of the way some people deal with vicissitudes in their lives.
Miss Emily Grierson who always subsisted under her father s wings, displays serious issues after
his death. The story begins with the end of Emily s life. Poor Emily s sentimental clutter and
grotesque demeanor bring pity on her character. Some may argue that she was just misunderstood,
others may see in her a psychologically unbalanced person, and that her attitude was simply a way
of crying out loud for help. In any cases, Emily appears to be someone that the common mortal
would feel compassion for, enough to deposit flowers on her grave. Her inability

Theme Of Immigration In West Side Story
Cultural interactions are important when it comes to settling during an immigration. The movie
West Side Story shows the way the Puerto Ricans tried to fit in and be a part of the New York City
community. Once they got into New York City, the Puerto Ricans engaged themselves in various
economic activities like working in stores for other people. The main theme of the West Side Story
showed that intercultural relationships were an important part of the lives of the immigrants and
emigrants of NYC. The paper has managed to show that cultural interactions are of great
importance when it comes to the settling in of immigrants in a new community. The Puerto Ricans
indeed faced many issues when they got to NYC. The existing communities made it difficult for
them to settle in well. There was too much hatred and violence between the two cultures in that
community that even brought about death. Loveusually have a way of cooling people down. When
Tony and Maria fell in love despite the differences in their cultures, something special happened.
Although they were not able to achieve their dreams because Tony ended up being killed, the two
cultures were able to discard their hatred for each other and come together for the first time. Indeed,
the smooth settling of immigrants greatly depends on the cultural interactions in their new
destination.

Economic Significance Of Renewable Energy Policy
ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY POLICY IN INDIA: A CASE
STUDY OF GUJARAT S SOLAR POLICY
I.Introduction
The transition to a greener energy regime in India is driven by both external factors, like energy
prices, market developments, political culture and the emphasis on climate change, as well as by
internal factors like the goal to achieve long term energy security and the need for enhancing access
to energy. The early emphasis on renewable energyin India was primarily on the wake of energy
security concerns mooted during the global oil crisis around 1970s. Commission of Additional
Sources of Energy (CASE) in 1981 was set up by Government of India (GoI) as one of the early
response to such a crisis. CASE was transformed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is argued that policy reforms initiated during the past two decades have transformed India s
energy sector from a predominantly government owned system to a system largely driven by
market elements. This is also evident in the case of renewable energy where the Ministry of New
and Renewable Energy (MNRE) identifies the development of renewable energy in India across
various phases: 1970s as research phase, 1980s as demonstration phase and 1990s onwards as
commercialization phase with greater participation of private sector entities.
The renewable sources of power in India still constitute a small portion of the entire power
production of the country, with the total installed capacity of 32,000 MW (which is about 12%
of the total installed capacity). Out of the total installed capacity, solar energy constitutes about
10 % (3200 MW). The solar potential of the country is huge. It is estimated that about 12.5 % of
India s landmass, which is about 413,000 square kilometers, can be exploited to harness solar
energy. The country on an average enjoys 300 sunny days with an average hourly solar radiation
of about 200 MW/square kilometer. The major recent initiative in the solar space is the Jawaharlal

It is clear that Suetonius favored Augustus over the other Caesars, and in large part due this is
due to his more thoughtful, and responsible use of his power and army. Yet Augustus never
wantonly invaded any country, and felt no temptation to increase the boundaries of the empire
or enhance his military glory... (Suetonius 53). Clearly Augustus was not greedy with his power
and felt no urge or need to extend his power or to greater his military power, he valued and
favored peace, fairness, and wisdom; which is clearly shown here, Even when tribes rebelled
frequently or showed particular ill faith, Augustus most severe punishment was to sell as slaves
the prisoners he took... (54). The two faults in which we condemned most strongly in a military
commander were haste and recklessness (56). This thoughtfulness and wisdom earned Augustus
high honor in Suetonius report in regard to his Military skills. In sharp contrast to Augustus;
Caligula had an urge for war, a desire for it to happen if you may. The prosperity of his own
reign, he said, would lead to it s being wholly forgotten, and he often prayed for a great military
catastrophe.., (162). He once, at the realization that the chance for war were slim to none for him,

The On The Housing Market Essay
Reforming the Housing Market
Today, because of the way congress has structured GSEs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac undermine
market discipline and actualize reverse incentives, leading to immoral behavior by market
participants. The promise of market discipline is its ability to identify risk and deters immoral
behavior. The 2008 financial crisis was induced by the dissolution of market discipline and
rampant immoral behavior. Thus, to safeguard against another financial crisis congress should
address moral hazard and restore market discipline. The first recommendation is to reduce and
limit the size of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Which would allow open competition in the
mortgage industry and enable the market to decide the best investments. The second
recommendation is to impose stricter reporting and accounting regulations to improve transparency
and disclosure of GSEs activities and financial position. Transparency of information will allow
investors to have more relevant information and giving them the ability to identify risk in a timely
manner.
Addressing Transparency and Disclosure of GSEs
Government s backing of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac has enabled these corporations to engage
in more risk than necessary. During 2003, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had a combined
outstanding debt that was equaled 39 percent of the total outstanding U.S. public debt (Thomas,
2008, p. 1). GSEs misuse resources by implementing risky investment strategies and taking on
excessive risk that

apart from other generations was the flapper fad, which was influenced by celebrities. Young
women shocked the previous generation by wearing dresses hemmed at the knee, bobbing their

during this decade. Division among Protestants reflected the tensions in society between the
traditional values of rural areas and the modern city life. The evolving role of women, the Social

Integration of Deck Department with the Engineering department
Disagreements between Departments and duty sections at small boat stations have become more
commonplace, and seem to be on the rise. The integration of the Deck and Engineering
departments would spread out the work load, increase productivity and raise the standards of
upkeep on the unit s small boats. Spreading out the work load among a larger department would
allow the unit to accomplish the same amount of work, in less time. Allowing personnel to spend
more time training and learning each other s job. Not only does integration ... Show more content on

That attitude alone divides the unit, it should be we break it, we fix it . If there is one thing at a
small boat station that I would like to fix it would be the unity. The time I spent underway on
cutters was one of the most rewarding times of my Coast Guard career. We were divided among our
departments, but united in our mission and when the ship sailed we were all the same, we all
wanted to complete the mission safely and return home to our family s. If I could bring that kind of
attitude into a station environment we would all succeed at our jobs and the Coast Guards Mission.

The Meaning Of Life In Siddhartha
iddhartha LAP
Topic #8
Abid Ahmad
Everything we do in the world is absolutely pointless. We as humans are irrelevant specks in the
vast universe that go about our repetitive lives for no apparent reason. At the end of the day, it
makes no difference how much good or bad we do in the world. This is the ignorant view of the
world that fails to see the perfect harmony in which we all live our lives. The redundant cycles
that we try so hard to get away from are part of our overarching connectedness as humans. As
parts of a whole, all of us have a role to play in making our lives better for ourselves and others.
Our role is the very meaning of life, and we should embrace it wholeheartedly. The novel Siddhartha
by Hermann Hesse stresses this cyclical unification through various circular constructions
throughout Siddhartha s life. Siddhartha had to deal with many individual stages of his life that
seemed pointless. These cycles almost drove him to the point of suicide, but he was saved by the
river which acted as a symbol for his entire life, as a united whole. This was the gateway to his
attainment of enlightenment, allowing him to feel closer to everyone around him. Siddhartha
began as an affluent Brahmin s son, coveted by all close to him. His family and friends greatly
admired the level of intuition and intellect that Siddhartha had possessed. Govinda, his best friend,
constantly adored him and followed in his footsteps. In this life, Siddhartha began the

The Persuaders Summary
Qin Sun Professor Mary Faller FNES 151 What was the most interesting part of the video? The
most interesting part of the video is hearing how multi million/large corporations view their
audience/consumers. In the video The Persuaders, Douglas Atkin makes a compelling analogy,
comparing individuals in cults to buying/joining a brand like Apple or Nike. These consumers feel
the need to belong and have the company of others. Emotional branding has become part of
American culture, they allow people to join a lifestyle. For example, Coca Cola and Hallmark, both
of these are multi million corporations that are directly associated with holidays like Christmas.

The Top Cloud Service Providers
The top Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) in our market are various. Most of them have their special
advantages for surviving in fierce business competitions. Some may have advantages on mobile
app, some may have advantages on languages, customer help and support services or prices, or
others may pay more attention on security protection and their reputation improvements. In this
assignment, I picked up four top CSPs with comparisons of their functionality, cost, security, mobile

The Code Of Chivalry Value Honesty, Honor, Valor, And Loyalty
The knightly code of chivalry value honesty, honor, valor, and loyalty; however, each era adapt
and manipulate the code. The dark ages of King Arthur adopted the code along with the conduct
aligned with the Christian religion. Knightly chivalry is means to fear God serve, pledge your
loyalty to their lord, live honorable, tell the truth, respect women, never refuse a challenge,
eschew unfairness, meanness, and deceit, protect the weak and defenseless, and it goes on
(Alchin). The reality of true knightly hood is impossible. You cannot successfully abide by them
all without breaking one. The duty of the knight is a task of utter perfection. The knight has a
responsibility to protect all, but it is depicted time after time in all forms of media of those who
value riches and power. Sir Gawain of Sir Gawain and the Green Knightis about a knight of King
Arthurusually fabled in many stories of the times.
Sir Gawain in this version is well known throughout many Arthurian stories for his loyalty,
humility, and chivalrousness. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, these qualities are clearly
manifested as Gawain undergoes many trials which put his character to the test, for he is
knightly, to a fault. During this time period it isn t easy to disobey this code. The medieval
period the Lord of the land is supreme rule. The Lord are their providers, so you cannot bite the

Essay about Censorship Laws and Practices in China
Censorship Laws and Practices in China
Introduction China joined the global Internet age in 1994, and has been commercially available
since 1995. Since then, Chinese Internet usage has seen explosive growth, doubling every six
months, and the number of online users is only second to the US. The Internet age ushered in the
information age with a new world of freedom and expression for the Chinese. However, soon after
its inception, the Chinese government has reined in the free wheeling Internet users and has imposed
new laws and restrictions to access and content on the Internet.
It is interesting to note that some of the new Internet regulations contradict International Laws

Analysis Of The Article Advertising s Twenty Basic...
Paintings aren t as interesting as they used to be. Paintings became popular during the Renaissance
era (14th century 17th century). Artists express their thoughts and emotions through their paintings.
Paintings give off many messages, and the message someone receives correlates with their mindset.
For example, the paintingof the Last Supper, if viewers don t have the mindset of a Christian then
they would think everyone is mad at the guy in the middle (Jesus). Paintings are all about
perception and what the viewers can take from the image mentally.
In the article Advertising s Fifteen Basic Appeals , Jib Fowles gives the meaning of affiliation in
advertisement. Fowles states, the need to associate with others is widely invoked in advertising
(para. 18). Advertisers use this technique when they want the viewers to get involved. An artist may
paint an image of a happily married couple, and this may make a single man want to be affiliated
with women. Painters use this technique to bring people together.
Also, Fowles breaks down the need to escape in advertisement. Fowles claims that advertisement
gives the viewers the need to escape when we have a desire to duck out of our obligations (para.
52). When life becomes too oppressive we tend to seek for freedom. Many advertisements will
show an image of people who is having the time of their life to try to target people who are at a
low stage in life. Artists use transcendentalism in their paintings that make people want to

The Nervous And Endocrine Systems
The nervous and endocrine systems are arguably two of the most important systems in any form of
complex organism. They are particularly complex and important in humans. Both systems,
especially in their cooperation, are essential for our bodies to function properly. Any simple fault or
damage to any aspects of these systems that goes untreated could mean at best chronic disease, or at
worst death. This is because both systems together maintain homeostasis in our bodies.
Homeostasis in the meticulous control of bodily processes to maintain a stable internal
environment that allows us to function adequately. This essay will describe and explain how these
systems work both separately and together to maintain homeostasis in the human body.
The nervous system is the first port of call in our body s reception and response to both internal and
external stimuli. Its many components enable us to see, hear, smell, taste and feel the many aspects
of touch, such as pressure and pain, along with many more physical senses such as heat, hunger,
thirst and balance. This system is also wholly responsible for our control of movement.
It is made up of many branches that coordinate different nervous activities in our bodies. The two
main parts are the central nervous system (CNS), which is composed of the brain and spinal chord
(Fig. 1), and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which has several more extensions. The PNS
consists of the nerves that radiate from the CNS; this includes the 12

globalization is rapidly turning the world as we know it into economic opportunity waiting to be

more and more readily available to lesser developed countries. Countries such as Jamaica and other
LDC s are primary targets of economic globalization. In the film Life and Debt by Stephanie Black,
we see the effects globalization has on Jamaican culture, industry, and agriculture.

The powered milk became such a commodity that the local produce dairy farms couldn t sell
their milk. A memorable scene in the film was when the dairy farmers had to spill out all their
surplus milk that was only a days worth to make room for new milk since it wasn t being

milk industry, dairy farms were producing only about 600 liters. Dairy farmers were run out of

The Jamaican economy in 1970 was 800 million dollars in debt and by the time of the year 2000
the debt had reached an alarming 7 billion dollars. In order to service its accumulated debts
Jamaica set up Exporting Processing Zones or EPZ s. The free zones created lots of
employment to jump start the economy. The free zones themselves were separate entities to
Jamaica, similar to the US owned cemetery for the WW2 soldiers in Normandy. In this way, the
supplies needed for manufacturing never really enter Jamaica, thus allowing for cheap imports.
The factories had their downsides though. Workers were only paid in Jamaican dollars about
30USD per week while some were paid that for two weeks. Every two weeks, money was taken out
as taxes which angered the Jamaicans

The Qualities Of Myself That Stand Out
Everyone in the world has many different characteristics that stand out, but one of the
characteristics about myself that stand out is my generosity and my love for others. All of my
life I put others problems on myself, and though it may not be a healthy thing to do. I always do
it because of my love for people. I have always been willing to put my problems aside to make
others happy. By making others happy I please myself.
I have always wonder why I was given this trait. I just figured it always genetic and yes your traits
are a mixture of your mother and father traits, but that does not explain the other reasons for it. I
believe that there are many scientists that have worked to discover how this is true. We tend to base
our characteristics off of the theories such as behaviorist, humanistic, psychoanalytic, biological,
and cognitive. Behaviorism is founded in the premise of behaviors that can be described
scientifically using facets of philosophy and methodology but also suggesting that theory and not
physiological constraints explain the behaviors of humanity. Moore suggests that radical
behaviorism is not biological but philosophical in its origin. Moore also contends that virtually all
American psychologists are now at least in part, behavioral psychologists (Moore, 2011).
Therefore, despite my own tendencies to believe otherwise, perhaps my nature is at least in part
defined by behaviorist theory. Behaviorism should be an objective science that studies behavior

Thus, Operation Restore Hope began in December, 1992. Once the situation had stabilized

Themes In The Yellow Birds By Kevin Powers
In the novel, The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers, several major themes and illustrations present
themselves throughout the storyline and strongly connect to previous readings and films from
class. The purpose of this book review will be to identify these illustrations, explain why they are
important, identify how these themes are connected to previous materials, and then determine if a
movie could accurately represent the book. As such, I argue that this book illustrates ideas of the
lossof innocence, loss of faith in humanity, and dust symbolizing the war these soldiers are fighting
and how it consumes all. I will then further my argument by the identification of themes such as
neorealism, heroism, and PTSD. However, it is first important to identify the special narrative
structure of the book, which is used to create these illustrations and themes. The narrative
structure that Kevin Powers uses is the first person from Private Brandon Bartle s point of view.
However, the structure of the story doesn t follow a classical narrative, but instead follows an
alternative narrative where it bounces back and forth between Private Bartle s time in Al Tafar,
Iraq and when he is on leave at home in Richmond, Virginia (Corrigan, 2015). This narrative style
allows various illustrations and themes to present themselves with the first being the loss of
innocence is the path to salvation in war. This illustration is vital because it shows that because
Bartle lost his innocence he

the affected animals switched to non GMOs nutrition and all signs and symptoms disappeared,

tarts, and red wine. The Pale Man has very long, dark, and grotesque finger nails. His eyeballs are
placed on a tray in front of him, not on his face. His body is bare and has rigid skin. His only facial
features are his lips and the sockets where his eyes belong. Jones describes, His face is molten
skin. His skin hangs from him and his legs are emaciated, indicating his inherent lifelessness (44).
Moreover, The Pale Man s monstrous characters mirror the monstrous people and events in the
film. The visual aspects describe the bigger picture of society. The Pale Man takes away the
childhood and innocence of children. In a similar sense, the Pale Man depicts the rob on
individuality in an entire nation (Jones 44). He has deprived others of living an individual life.
The portraits of children and pile of shoes also give insight on the state of Spain. These images,
recall the historical reality of the holocaust... where piles of belongings, including the shoes, of its
victims are displayed as a

Questions On Structural Insulation Panels
Introduction
Nowadays, structural insulation panels (SIPs) are used increasingly in a wide range of different
structural applications. Therefore, this report investigates into widespread aspects of the SIPs to
confirm the appropriateness of panels that can be combined into design work.
To construct this report, several sections have been researched .The analysis includes the
explanation, history, and operation of SIPs. Also, case studies: River Studio by Sjölander da Cruz
Architects and Museum of Outdoor Arts Element House by MOS Architects are used to investigate
about panels used onto buildings. Moreover, the report briefly explains the benefits and detriments
of panels. Last but not least, the comparison between alternative systems ... Show more content on

They have taken the continuous research on SIPs for over 30 years which helped to develop the
SIPs in its design and materials. ( Panjehpour, Ali, and Voo, 2013)
In 1936, Frank Lloyd Wright used a form of SIPs to construct the Usonian homes. Alden B. Dow, an
American architect who was the student of Frank Lloyd Wright, created the first foam core SIPs in
1952. Rigid foam insulation became accessible when the affordable SIPs had mass production by
the 1960s. (Morley, 2000)
Operation
SIPs are prefabricated panels, which are assembled and pre cut in the manufactory. Features such
as window openings, headers can be included on the panels according to the design submission by
a builder. (Cold Climate Housing Research Center, 2015)
Figure 1.2 SIPs are cutting in the factory
The size and thickness of panels depend on the application and thermal or structural requirements.
In the United Kingdom , the material of panels normally is orientated strand board grade 3 or
plywood combined with various plastic foams including expanded polystyrene, extruded
polystyrene, urethane and other similar insulation cores. (Porteous and Kermani, 2013)
Panels must comply with the standards of fire safety and load bearing according to the International
Building Code and the International Residential Building Code .(Cold Climate Housing Research
Center, 2015)

Different Types of Sensors and Their Applications
Capacitive Sensors
Capacitive sensors use an array capacitor plates to image the fingerprint. Skin is conductive
enough to provide a capacitive coupling with an individual capacitive element on the array.
Ridges, being closer to the detector, have a higher capacitance and valleys have a lower
capacitance. Some capacitive sensors apply a small voltage to the finger to enhance the signal and
create better image contrast.
Capacitive sensors can be sensitive to electrostatic discharge (shock) but they are insensitive to
ambient lighting and are more resist contamination issues than some optical designs.
Optical Sensors
Optical sensors use arrays of photodiode or phototransistor detectors to convert the energy in light
incident on the detector into electrical charge. The sensor package usually includes a light emitting
diode (LED) to illuminate the finger.
There are two detector types used by optical sensors, charge coupled devices (CCD) and CMOS
based optical imagers. CCD detectors are sensitive to low light levels and are capable of making
excellent grayscale pictures. However, CCD fabrication is relatively expensive and neither low
light sensitivity or grayscale imaging are required for fingerprint recognition. CMOS optical
imagers are manufactured in quantity and can be made with some of the image processing steps
built into the chip resulting in a lower cost.
Optical sensors for fingerprints may be affected by a number of real world factors such as stray

Middle Eastern Culture, African, American Indian And Asian...
In comparison to the western culture, the Middle Eastern Culture, African, American Indian and
Asian culture has a different approach to their family structure. These cultures mostly have an
extended family that dominate their family type, for instance in Croatia, Bosnia or Serbia they
have a family system of a fully extended family which consists of parents, children, grandparents
but the difference between a normal structured extended family and the fully extended family is
that the cousins and other kins that may not be related from the immediate family, are also
included and this type of family can reach a number of 50 people. There are also different types of
kinship structures instead of a family structure, for some cultures that base

Binary Oppositions From Multiple Forms Within This Poem
Binary Oppositions appear in multiple forms within this poem. We find the pairs of conflicting
words and the readers are expected sort out which words have the ideal interpretation to the
poem. Most of these pairs are descriptions about the pebble, the coldness (line 9) and the false
warmth (line 14) skew our interpretation of this pebble. Pebbles are naturally cold but the text
tries to resolve this fact by presenting warmth to the pebble. Yet the pebble did not produce this
warmth itself, a living creature is required to generate the heat and to transfer it to the pebble.
Also, the pebble will not be able to maintain the warmth once the heat source is taken away, thus
false warmth. The pebble does have the potential to harness this warmth so is it really a cold
being or a warm one? These conflicting ideas help to unravel the validity of the poem. The same
can be done with the words coldness (line 9) and ardour (line 9), or its fierce or burning heat
(Oxford English Dictionary). These words are given to the readerin the same line yet they hold
completely unique ideas to the pebble. Is ardour heat that the pebble theoretically can hold or is
it a kind of burning heat that a person feels due to emotions? A reader could also question how a
pebble cannot be tamed (line 15) yet also be mindful of its limits (line 4). These are all human
qualities which are getting placed onto the pebble, and due to the limitations of pebbles we can
understand these binary

The Impact Of French Colonialism On Moroccan Identity
III.The Impact of French Colonialism on Moroccan Identity.
The Moroccan identity has faced a several challenges and seditions throughout history, which
rebuilt and traced the shape of modern Moroccan identity. Undoubtedly, the French colonialism is
one of the most threat of Moroccan identity. They tried hard to separate Moroccointo two entities to
serve their colonial ambitions, in addition to the economic reasons and the exploitation of wealth,
the French colonial intention was blurring Moroccan identity. However, Stuart Hall distinguished
between two kinds of cultural identities, which we adapt to the Moroccan case.
пѓјCollective Identity vs Unstable Identity:
The question of identity in Morocco, cannot be separated from history, it is formed and shaped
with the French colonization which becomes a part of Moroccan identity. However, Hall
distinguished between two distinctive kinds of identities. For him, the collective identity is the
core that remains after losing everything, stable, unchanging, and fixed. This defined by Hall as: ...
in terms of one shared culture, a sort of collective one true self , hiding inside the many other,
more superficial or artificially imposed selves , which people with ... Show more content on

The building of state adopted and imposed Arabic as a cultural identity of Morocco and eliminated
the existence of Tamazight, through the policy of Arabization. However, Jonathan Wyrtzen, an
American sociologist, said that The complex relationship between Arab and Berber identity is one
of the central questions in North African historiography. It enjoys a long genealogy in colonialist,
nationalist, and post independence scholarship ... This complexity came from the colonial strategy
of dividing Moroccan entity, as one of its long term objectives. This conflict of identity, which

Essay Malaria Malaria (also called biduoterian fever, blackwater fever, falciparum malaria, plasmodium, Quartan malaria, and tertian malaria) is one of the most infectious and most common diseases in the world. This serious, sometimes fatal disease is caused by a parasite that is carried by a certain species of mosquito called the Anopheles. It claims more lives every year than any other transmissible disease except tuberculosis. Every year, five hundred million adults and children (around nine percent of the world s population) contract the disease and of these, one hundred million people die. Children are more susceptible to the disease than adults, and in Africa, where ninety percent of the world s cases occur and where eighty percent of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To contract malaria, a mosquito, but not just any mosquito must bite a human. The only type of mosquito that can infect humans with the malaria virus is the Anopheles mosquito. While there are around three hundred eighty species of the Anopheline mosquito, only about sixty are actually able to spread the disease to humans. Also, only female mosquitoes can distribute the disease, as male mosquitoes do not feed on humans. Mosquitoes pass malaria to humans through their salivary glands. Once the parasites have entered the blood stream, they go to the liver. In the liver they mature and undergo reproduction, forming merozoites. These merozoites enter the blood stream and inject themselves into red blood cells. Once inside the blood cells, they reproduce rapidly and within forty eight to seventy two hours, the blood cell bursts, releasing hemoglobin into the blood stream. It is the destruction of these blood cells and the hemoglobin released into the blood stream that actually causes most of the symptoms. While the most common way malaria is transmitted is from mosquitoes to humans, there are other ways of catching the disease. One way is from mother to her unborn child. When a disease is contracted this way it is said to have been transmitted congenitally. Another way is during blood transfusions. This is why it is important to be tested for ... Zara s expansion strategy thus far has been quite successful; however, with every new store opened, its ability to maintain an efficient centralized production system and a strong, unique culture will be diminished. (See Appendix and above) It is recommended that Zara maintain full ownership of new stores rather than choosing to franchise. This will ensure the continuation of the strong Zara culture. Zara s combination of cutting edge fashions and culture lends itself well to a European style, fashion conscious consumer. While this type of consumer can be found in New York, this is not representative of the entire US market. Retailers in small towns and urban sprawls rely more on a shopping mall atmosphere. Adapting that strategy would undermine Zara s image. It is therefore recommended that Zara target only major metropolitan areas which would likely have higher concentrations of fashion minded individuals. Zara currently employs no advertising at all. As word of mouth is very important in retail, this low key approach is in line with Zara s culture. A well structured marketing campaign could, however, spread the word of Zara s expansion across the US, while maintaining their mysterious boutique type image. Billboards or print ads with a teaser approach could accomplish this goal. Advertising will become important to increase Zara s profile during expansion. We as humans are irrelevant specks in the vast universe that go about our repetitive lives for no apparent reason. At the end of the day, it makes no difference how much good or bad we do in the world. This is the ignorant view of the world that fails to see the perfect harmony in which we all live our lives. The redundant cycles that we try so hard to get away from are part of our overarching connectedness as humans. As parts of a whole, all of us have a role to play in making our lives better for ourselves and others. Our role is the very meaning of life, and we should embrace it wholeheartedly. The novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse stresses this cyclical unification through various circular constructions throughout Siddhartha s life. Siddhartha had to deal with many individual stages of his life that seemed pointless. These cycles almost drove him to the point of suicide, but he was saved by the river which acted as a symbol for his entire life, as a united whole. This was the gateway to his attainment of enlightenment, allowing him to feel closer to everyone around him. Siddhartha began as an affluent Brahmin s son, coveted by all close to him. His family and friends greatly admired the level of intuition and intellect that Siddhartha had possessed. Govinda, his best friend, constantly adored him and followed in his footsteps. In this life, Siddhartha began the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These consumers feel the need to belong and have the company of others. Emotional branding has become part of American culture, they allow people to join a lifestyle. Artists express their thoughts and emotions through their paintings. Paintings give off many messages, and the message someone receives correlates with their mindset. For example, the paintingof the Last Supper, if viewers don t have the mindset of a Christian then they would think everyone is mad at the guy in the middle (Jesus). Paintings are all about perception and what the viewers can take from the image mentally. In the article Advertising s Fifteen Basic Appeals , Jib Fowles gives the meaning of affiliation in advertisement. Fowles states, the need to associate with others is widely invoked in advertising (para. 18). Advertisers use this technique when they want the viewers to get involved. An artist may paint an image of a happily married couple, and this may make a single man want to be affiliated with women. Painters use this technique to bring people together. Also, Fowles breaks down the need to escape in advertisement. Fowles claims that advertisement gives the viewers the need to escape when we have a desire to duck out of our obligations (para. 52). When life becomes too oppressive we tend to seek for freedom. Many advertisements will show an image of people who is having the time of their life to try to target people who are at a low stage in life. They are particularly complex and important in humans. Both systems, especially in their cooperation, are essential for our bodies to function properly. Any simple fault or damage to any aspects of these systems that goes untreated could mean at best chronic disease, or at worst death. This is because both systems together maintain homeostasis in our bodies. Homeostasis in the meticulous control of bodily processes to maintain a stable internal environment that allows us to function adequately. This essay will describe and explain how these systems work both separately and together to maintain homeostasis in the human body. The nervous system is the first port of call in our body s reception and response to both internal and external stimuli. Its many components enable us to see, hear, smell, taste and feel the many aspects of touch, such as pressure and pain, along with many more physical senses such as heat, hunger, thirst and balance. This system is also wholly responsible for our control of movement. It is made up of many branches that coordinate different nervous activities in our bodies. The two main parts are the central nervous system (CNS), which is composed of the brain and spinal chord (Fig. 1), and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which has several more extensions. I have always been willing to put my problems aside to make others happy. By making others happy I please myself. I have always wonder why I was given this trait. I believe that there are many scientists that have worked to discover how this is true. Behaviorism is founded in the premise of behaviors that can be described scientifically using facets of philosophy and methodology but also suggesting that theory and not physiological constraints explain the behaviors of humanity. Moore suggests that radical behaviorism is not biological but philosophical in its origin. Moore also contends that virtually all American psychologists are now at least in part, behavioral psychologists (Moore, 2011). Themes In The Yellow Birds By Kevin Powers In the novel, The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers, several major themes and illustrations present themselves throughout the storyline and strongly connect to previous readings and films from class. The purpose of this book review will be to identify these illustrations, explain why they are important, identify how these themes are connected to previous materials, and then determine if a movie could accurately represent the book. As such, I argue that this book illustrates ideas of the lossof innocence, loss of faith in humanity, and dust symbolizing the war these soldiers are fighting and how it consumes all. I will then further my argument by the identification of themes such as neorealism, heroism, and PTSD. However, it is first important to identify the special narrative structure of the book, which is used to create these illustrations and themes. The narrative structure that Kevin Powers uses is the first person from Private Brandon Bartle s point of view. However, the structure of the story doesn t follow a classical narrative, but instead follows an alternative narrative where it bounces back and forth between Private Bartle s time in Al Tafar, Iraq and when he is on leave at home in Richmond, Virginia (Corrigan, 2015). This narrative style allows various illustrations and themes to present themselves with the first being the loss of innocence is the path to salvation in war. Features such as window openings, headers can be included on the panels according to the design submission by a builder. (Cold Climate Housing Research Center, 2015) Figure 1.2 SIPs are cutting in the factory The size and thickness of panels depend on the application and thermal or structural requirements. In the United Kingdom , the material of panels normally is orientated strand board grade 3 or plywood combined with various plastic foams including expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, urethane and other similar insulation cores. (Porteous and Kermani, 2013) Panels must comply with the standards of fire safety and load bearing according to the International Building Code and the International Residential Building Code .(Cold Climate Housing Research Center, 2015) Case study example of it being used within a building Case Study 1 : River Studio by ... • 44. Different Types of Sensors and Their Applications Capacitive Sensors Capacitive sensors use an array capacitor plates to image the fingerprint. Skin is conductive enough to provide a capacitive coupling with an individual capacitive element on the array. Ridges, being closer to the detector, have a higher capacitance and valleys have a lower capacitance. Some capacitive sensors apply a small voltage to the finger to enhance the signal and create better image contrast. Capacitive sensors can be sensitive to electrostatic discharge (shock) but they are insensitive to ambient lighting and are more resist contamination issues than some optical designs. Optical Sensors Optical sensors use arrays of photodiode or phototransistor detectors to convert the energy in light incident on the detector into electrical charge. The sensor package usually includes a light emitting diode (LED) to illuminate the finger. There are two detector types used by optical sensors, charge coupled devices (CCD) and CMOS based optical imagers. CCD detectors are sensitive to low light levels and are capable of making excellent grayscale pictures. However, CCD fabrication is relatively expensive and neither low light sensitivity or grayscale imaging are required for fingerprint recognition. CMOS optical imagers are manufactured in quantity and can be made with some of the image processing steps built into the chip resulting in a lower cost. Optical sensors for fingerprints may be affected by a number of real world factors such as stray light and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Middle Eastern Culture, African, American Indian And Asian... In comparison to the western culture, the Middle Eastern Culture, African, American Indian and Asian culture has a different approach to their family structure. These cultures mostly have an extended family that dominate their family type, for instance in Croatia, Bosnia or Serbia they have a family system of a fully extended family which consists of parents, children, grandparents but the difference between a normal structured extended family and the fully extended family is that the cousins and other kins that may not be related from the immediate family, are also included and this type of family can reach a number of 50 people. There are also different types of kinship structures instead of a family structure, for some cultures that base ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Binary Oppositions From Multiple Forms Within This Poem Binary Oppositions appear in multiple forms within this poem. We find the pairs of conflicting words and the readers are expected sort out which words have the ideal interpretation to the poem. Most of these pairs are descriptions about the pebble, the coldness (line 9) and the false warmth (line 14) skew our interpretation of this pebble. Pebbles are naturally cold but the text tries to resolve this fact by presenting warmth to the pebble. Yet the pebble did not produce this warmth itself, a living creature is required to generate the heat and to transfer it to the pebble. Also, the pebble will not be able to maintain the warmth once the heat source is taken away, thus false warmth. The pebble does have the potential to harness this warmth so is it really a cold being or a warm one? These conflicting ideas help to unravel the validity of the poem. The same can be done with the words coldness (line 9) and ardour (line 9), or its fierce or burning heat (Oxford English Dictionary). These words are given to the readerin the same line yet they hold completely unique ideas to the pebble. Is ardour heat that the pebble theoretically can hold or is it a kind of burning heat that a person feels due to emotions? A reader could also question how a pebble cannot be tamed (line 15) yet also be mindful of its limits (line 4). These are all human qualities which are getting placed onto the pebble, and due to the limitations of pebbles we can understand these binary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. The Impact Of French Colonialism On Moroccan Identity III.The Impact of French Colonialism on Moroccan Identity. The Moroccan identity has faced a several challenges and seditions throughout history, which rebuilt and traced the shape of modern Moroccan identity. Undoubtedly, the French colonialism is one of the most threat of Moroccan identity. They tried hard to separate Moroccointo two entities to serve their colonial ambitions, in addition to the economic reasons and the exploitation of wealth, the French colonial intention was blurring Moroccan identity. However, Stuart Hall distinguished between two kinds of cultural identities, which we adapt to the Moroccan case. пѓјCollective Identity vs Unstable Identity: The question of identity in Morocco, cannot be separated from history, it is formed and shaped with the French colonization which becomes a part of Moroccan identity. However, Hall distinguished between two distinctive kinds of identities. For him, the collective identity is the core that remains after losing everything, stable, unchanging, and fixed. This defined by Hall as: ... in terms of one shared culture, a sort of collective one true self , hiding inside the many other, more superficial or artificially imposed selves , which people with ...
