Case Study 10.4 Google and Youtube Together Essay
1.In your view and experience on YouTube, will typical YouTube viewers accept advertising while
watching the videos?
As a YouTube user, advertising is a pain and I try to avoid it whenever possible, but it could be
much worse and is generally non intrusive as possible. Some videos provide a flash overlay at the
bottom of the video that displays an advertisement similar to the Google ad words advertisements
that appear when using Google for searching. This flash overlay can even be closed as soon as it
appears. The advertisement does not hinder the viewer from being able to watch their video
immediately. The text in the case study mentions how most viewers are dissatisfied with having to
watch an advertisement before viewing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act requires the owners of content to notify websites when their
copyrights are infringed. This works for YouTubebecause the responsibility lies with the copyright
owners to police the site and notify them when they see their material posted, but this places extra
burden with those copyright holders. But if YouTube has to scan the vast numbers of videos
uploaded every minute on its site, the concept of YouTube would not work because users expect
their videos to be posted immediately.
3.Assume you were a manufacturer of sporting goods, and wanted to use YouTube videos as a
marketing tool to establish your brand. What concerns would you have about using YouTube?
Video advertisements have a response rate of 0.4%, which is still greater than regular web
advertisements such as banner ads, but is not an impressive number if I were a sporting goods
manufacturer looking to use YouTube video ads as a major part of my advertising budget. I can
expect that a large portion of the viewing audience would skip or block out my advertisement. The
return on investment is potentially very small. Another concern I would have would be copyright
issues, especially since 25% of the videos on YouTube contain copyrighted material and make up
possibly more than half of the total views. There could be potential risks of lawsuits from
advertisements appearing on videos which contain

Differences Between Maori And Non Maori
Definition. Tikanga is a noun that means the proper traditional Maori way of doing things and
concerns Maori protocols of acceptable behaviour including the customary Maori values,
obligations and practices that have developed over time (Maori Dictionary, n.d.), (TKI, 2011). Two
key aspects of tikanga are manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga. Manaakitanga concerns hospitality and
kindness towards guests, kaitiakitanga is the sense of respect that Maori have for the environment
(Te Ara, 2015). Related concepts include mana (spiritual power or status), tapu (spiritual restriction)
and mauri (life force or principle). Three specific interactions. In the context of the case study, the
following interactions could take place: 1.Interaction One. Between Maori and non Maori. Aranui
has about 11,000 inhabitants, some 17% Maori and 83% non Maori, and although the scenario
makes no mention of conflict as a consequence of different racial values, it is a potential concern
that development propositions could upset social cohesion and racial harmony if non Maori feel
discriminated against, perhaps due to local employment opportunities favouring Maori that become
available due to Maori business initiatives. A concern that only whanau will be employed.
Doubtlessly, some of the 83% non Maori population will resent the $10 million Treaty settlement.
Potentially, this interaction could be very positive should both Maori and non Maori see mutual
benefit in the development proposition.

Molar Mass Of Butane And Unknown
Molar Mass of Butane and unknown
Abstract:
The purpose of this lab is to find the molar mass of mixed gases in a lighter, and to calculate the
exact mixture of gases in the lighter. The results of this lab were the mass of the lighter, as 100 mL
of water was displaced, was 0.27g, 0.17g, and 0.28g. The molar masses of the gasses for three trials
were 64.3 g/mol, 40.5 g/mol, and 66.7 g/mol.
Background:
The purpose of this lab is to find the molar mass of mixed gases in a lighter, and to calculate the
exact mixture of gases in the lighter. While collecting the volume of Butane gas in a lighter, the
molar mass can also be determined. When attempting to find the molar mass, water displacement is
the best method to use. This can be determined because the equal volumes of all gases contain
equal number of particles, so long as they are measured at the same temperature and pressure. Ideal
gas law is the chemistry involved with this experiment. The equations M=mRT/PV and PV=nRT
can be seen throughout this experiment.
Pre Lab questions:
The Ideal gas law demonstrates a relationship between different values in the equation PV=nRT.
The ideal gas law will be used to find the molar mass of butane.
The ideal gas law can be changed with the equation n=m/M. It can be seen that moles equals mass
over molar mass. This can be changed, and substituted into the Ideal gas law to find the molar
mass. The equation goes from PV=nRT to M=mRT/PV.
Molar Mass is the mass of a given substance. It

The Potential Of The Se Re Innovations
3.Literature Review 3.1Potential for the SE RE innovations SE RE is a fairly new concept but
many researches proves the high potential of its development. First of all, embracing the social
values is the aim of social enterprises, including the environmental sector such as using green
energy, recycling or tracking the fuel poverty. Moreover, growing state support for developing
RET and the technical reserve of RETs (like unmanaged woodlands, garden waste going to landfill,
etc.) (Kellett, 2007), are giving SE a potential market to explore (Van der Horst, 2008). The
Northern Periphery Programme energy cluster has highlighted that social entrepreneurship has not
been yet fully utilized in renewable energy solutions (SECRE, 2013). ... Show more content on

As mentioned in Section ‎2.1, more constraints may appear including finance, staff,
management, marketing, legal status, etc. Many case studies state, as most investors prefer
established and commercially viable enterprises more than start ups and smaller enterprises, it is
difficult to access capital (Smith, at el., 2014). Moreover, many social enterprises cannot fund
themselves entirely through sales or investment to get a share in traditional financial markets,
which resulting in a financial social return gap (Bugg Levine, at el., 2012). The hybrid nature also
brings challenges to its management level. Except establishing and legitimating organization,
managers also have to find suitable way to committed volunteers and employers and enlarged
governance structures (Borzaga, at el., 2001). The sorry state of the non profit directors (Appendix
‎G) is shown in the recent survey, which is among 924 nonprofit directors carried out by
Stanford researchers (HBR, 2015). Human resources is also one of the challenges social
enterprises need to face. Lack of expertise in business planning, legal and marketing skills is one
reason. Also, hard to provide competitive salaries and even relying on staff commitment to the
social mission to make up it, may lead to staff shortage (Smith, at el., 2014). Social

A Summary OfFrindle By Andrew Clements
Frindle by Andrew Clements illustrated by Brian Selznick
Nick Allen is a child full of ideas who decides to replace the word pen with the word frindle after
his teacher has told him that words are formed by the people making them, therefore he must try it
out for himself and gets six of his friends to commit to using the word frindle instead of pen.
Nick and his friends made a big show about using the new word every time they needed to say
pen, however Mrs. Granger, the fifth grade, language arts teacher was not in favor of the use of the
word and asked them not to use it. That was not going to stop the group. So, the punishment for
using the word was writing sentences in afterschool detention. The word caught on all over school

The white envelope included the note that was from way back in the beginning of the conflict
when he put his name on it. It said she knew or was rooting for it to become a word, moreover
congratulating him for making it in the dictionary. She also apologized for trying to hold him
back and now could see the benefit of the event happening in her classroom. Inside the white
envelope also came a box with Mrs. Granger s favorite fountain pen, it had a small note attached
saying frindle on it. Then he did something special, he gave Mrs. Granger a gold pen with this
inscription This object belongs to Mrs. Lorelei Granger, and she may call it any name she
chooses With love from Nicholas Allen The event of the story is factual in that it could happen
and it is also social in the way that Nick was able to get the word started. Getting his friends
together and agree to use the word frindle instead of pen continually. The author permits freedom
by giving the children something to act on that doesn t harm anyone. It also allows for an older
person or one in authority to have the freedom to express the need for respect, yet still show
support for the act of progress. The author has demonstrated the dynamics of the classroom
between child and teacher showing the struggles of a student who enjoys trying out new ideas.
The only thing controversial is Nick s use of his new word in class which led to his teacher feeling
disrespected after

Analysis Of Hiroshima By John Hersey
The book Hiroshima by John Hersey is, to me, one of the most captivating literary works to date.
This nonfictional book centers around the lives of six survivors two women, two doctors, a
Reverend, and a Father of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. Throughout the book, the
author traces their lives before, during, and after the massive bombing that killed nearly three
fourths of Hiroshimas entire population. The book s setting, Hiroshima bombing in 1945, is a
significant element in the story as it shapes the tone, mood, and vividness of the book,
altogether making it a fascinating story. Moments before the bombing, Hersey briefly describes
what his six characters are doing. For one of the characters, the author writes, Dr. Terufumi
Sasaki, a young member of the surgical staff of the city s large, modern Red Cross Hospital,
walked along one of the hospital corridors with a blood specimen for a Wassermann test in his
hand... (Hersey 1). By simply giving a description of his character moments before the bombing,
Hersey gives his readers a picture of their lives and how their lives will soon begin anew.
Furthermore, by showing the normality of the character s current situation, he gives the reader the
idea that everything is just the way it is. With that mood set, the bombing will be an unexpected
event that causes shock to the reader, marking the story both intriguing and compelling. In
Hiroshima, there are certain areas where a reader will encounter a character in

Klinefelter Syndrome Research Paper
0.78 percent of Americans a total of 2,540,460 identify as transgender(denoting or relating to a
person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex). The
number of people identifying as transgender is on the rise and so is the thought that gender is
determined by what the individual identifies as. However genderis determined by genetics. The X
and Y chromosomes are what determine the gender of a person. Depending on whether the sperm
that impregnates a femalecarries an X or Y will determine the gender of the offspring. A Y
chromosome will cause the offspring to be malewhile if the offspring has an X it will be female.
Some offspring will be born with more X s or Y s often know as klinefelter syndrome, XXXY
syndrome, 49,XXXXY syndrome, XXX syndrome, and tetrasomy X. Males with klinefelter
syndrome, XXXY syndrome, and 49, XXXXY syndrome are still male though many suffer from
shorter stature, enlarged breasts, hypogonadism, cryptorchidism, and deficient growth hormones.
Women who have XXX syndrome and tetrasomy X are still female, but women with XXX

It is possible for males to have two X chromosomes, because part of the X chromosomes gender
determining region is translocated. There are two different types of chromosomal changes one
happens with a detectable sex determining region Y and one without the detectable sex
determining region Y. A female can be born with one X and one Y because of a mutation on the
Y chromosome. While an XY person can develop into a female. Mutated individuals with a X
and a Y are females in almost every way, but females with a X and a Y almost always lack
working ovaries, a uterus, or both. Lacking working ovaries or a uterus almost always means that
women born with a X and Y cannot get pregnant, but women who do have ovaries and a uterus still

Application Verification Calibration Circuit For Workstations
Our capstone project, DDR4 INTERFACE DESIGN VERIFICATON FOR SERVERS aims at
the design verification calibration circuit for high speed interfaces for memory subsystems.
These interfaces allow for data transfer to and from the memory to facilitate interoperability.
During the initial phase, we thoroughly studied the unique features and requirements of DDR4,
the latest and fastest version of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and the implications
of those factors for controller and physical layer design. In this project, my initial focus was on
the physical layer that connects the DDR4 memory to its controller. After an extensive literature
review, I narrowed my focus to the design and verification of calibration circuit, which is going
to be used to calibrate resistance and slew rate of drivers at IO buffers to provide better
communication with external devices. 2.1. Overview The DDR4 memory works at twice the
data rate of its predecessors. This is facilitated by the physical layer, which needs to be capable
of reliably handling twice the data rate than it did with the previous version of DRAM, DDR3. At
the integrated circuits level, several changes have been made to allow for this. Owing to these
changes in specifications, the DDR4 subsystem is capable of achieving the doubled data rates at a
lower power consumption allowing for prolonged battery life in devices employing this

Girl before a Mirror
Girl before a Mirror, an oil on canvas painting by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, shows two sides
of a girl; one which is illustrated with a dark tone and one with a vibrant colorful tone. This
painting is bright; colors are at full intensity and are arranged next to their complements,
producing a visual relationship between shape and form. Forms are used to draw the viewer s
eye across the canvas where circular shapes, repeating throughout the work, are compensated by
the pattern of diagonal lines of the background. The viewer observes the girl s profile and full
frontal image, looking into a mirror and noticing a different image of herself. In order to achieve
this effect, Picasso uses a range of formal elements that highlight the... Show more content on

The use of geometric shapes in this painting allows the subject to be viewed in both a recognizable
and unrecognizable state at the same time. Overall, geometric shapes and patterns play an essential
role in what the viewer sees, which is further supported by a powerful color palate.
Picasso uses texture and an array of complementary and analogous colors characterized by a
range of hues, values, and light to create a dramatic difference between the two subjects. The
dominant and repetitive colors in the painting are green, yellow, lavender, red, and blue. The use
of color, especially when used with the different geometric shapes, creates both a range of values
as well as contrasts to adjacent areas. The profile and frontal head have lighter values such as
yellow and lavender, whereas the reflection, painted with a rough charcoal texture has a
dominance of blue, especially around the face, reflecting darker values. The use of complementary
colors such as red and green create a brighter canvas, while the use of analogous combinations such
as green and yellow, and green and blue blend well together. Overall, the reds and greens are bright
throughout, giving intensity to the painting while the use of soft blue in the reflection, is not as
intense and warm. Picasso also uses complementary colors of red and green against lavender in the
figure to make the figure prominent. In the reflection, analogous colors are used throughout, but
predominately on the top with purple

Stereotypes In Cowboys
How is a man perceived in American society today and how is that man affected by those
perceptions. Men can be perceived in many ways by many different people. Most men can be
said they are the head of the house and can be considered for everything to be in their masculine
way. A perception is more like a view or an opinion that is incorrect because it is based on false
information or misunderstandings. Throughout our American society we see that in men not only
in cowboys men are perceived as more of a men person uncaring and unloving and can just go out
and work and bring money home. Things like this create perceptions towards manand how other
people may criticize. For example, a man can hide its love emotions but still love someone, he...

In this case one example the American cowboy how many people perceive him as always being
with his cows and never at home and can show that he always cares about his animals but can
hardly be at home. Meaning something like what Ehrlich says in her essay, gentle with animals
and tough on women (106). This can be said by many man especially cowboys if one is always
with calf and treats them good it can be really easy to be gentle and caring towards those
animals. Towards women it s harder because since they don t like to show their emotions at
home as men think it s a weakness to show love in words. In reality that is not a truth it s a
perception affecting men in a negative way as the fact that cowboys are always spending time
with their animals rather than being at home loving and caring about their family or wifes doesn
t make it true that they are really tough on women. This example does not only follow cowboys
it follows men in general in our American society because a man who is always working or has
something going on after work is just hardly at work can be said to be uncaring and unloving of
his family. This is a perception that many men may face but what people don t see is that they
may not be at home because they are working longer hours for a better life to their family or other
stuff. Even though some men may be out late or hardly home because other stuff and because of
those men bad perceptions are made our American society will but should not judge all men like

Cost Vs Cremation Method
Although opinions on disposal of bodies differ, cremation is the best method; therefore,
cremation should be more widely used. There are many difficult decisions to make when your
loved one dies. The biggest decision is how to dispose of the body. The options for disposal are
varied. Families choose how they want the remains disposed of based on their moral and cultural
beliefs. The cost of cremationis less than the cost of burialand is one reason why cremation is the
best method of disposal. On average, the cost of cremation is a third less than the cost of a
tradition burial. When a body is buried the costs include a casket, the burial plot, a service for
them and any additional add ons they may want. A traditional burial with a service typically
costs about $7,700, while a cremation with a service costs about $1,600. This makes cremation a
better method, because the family is saving money. Some people believe that they can t remember
a person if they don t have a marked place to remember them so they choose the traditional burial.
Even though the ashes of a cremated body can also be put in the ground. This adds to the cost but
not by much, so overall the cost is still significantly less.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A family has many options of how to handle the remains of their loved one. One way of handling
the remains is the scattering of the ashes. According to the Cremation Association s survey,
around 135,000 families are scattering their loved ones ashes every year. Scattering ashes is a
way the family can remember or honor a person by spreading them in a place that was special or
important to them. Many families also choose burial after they cremate a body. Burying the
ashes can give a family a sense of relief because they know they have a place to go to remember
their loved one in person. Some families keep the ashes at their house as a way to remember them

Essay on Popular Music Revolution
Music has undergone many changes throughout and history and prehistory. These changes were
always somehow connected to sociological movements at the time. Rock music evolved mostly
out of a need by young people of the fifties to break away from so cietal norms. America had just
come out of the Korean War, and men looked to settle down into a peaceful life. Also just prior this
time period, Senator Joseph McCarthy ac tively encouraged citizens to conform with his infamously
false accusations of Commu nism. McCarthy spectacularly charged that there were scores of known
Communists in the Department of State (Bailey 887). This made people fearful that they would be
tried as Communists and led most to conform to a common societal standard.... Show more content

Although this emphasis on a driving beat originally sprung from R amp;B, it quickly mutated
into its own unique form. This presuma bly was to facilitate dancing to the beat, and this became
the reason many parents and other adults protested this type of music. Many performers onstage
dancing styles were considered lewd and inappropriate for their children. This became another
reason for the music s popularity because they were given a chance to rebel against their parents.
There is nothing prohibiting a situation like this from happening again. Today, teenagers in
general strive to become different from their parents. This causes new styles to emerge in music.
The most common deviation form the main rock theme is vulgarity in lyrics. Sublime, a popular
alternative rock band, has quickly found success with the teenage audience. The two most played
songs on their first album, 40 oz. To Freedom, being Date Rape and Smoke Two Joints. The lyrics
reflect the tendency of youth to rebel against laws and authority. I smoke two joints in time of
peace, and two in time of war/ I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints/and then I smoke two
more. This is an ob vious attempt to aggravate the attitudes of parents, and although added
vulgarities and drug references do not constitute a new form of music, under extreme circumstances,
the conventions could deviate enough to allow something new to emerge.

South Africa A rare report by the OECD makes some trenchant observations AFRICA S biggest
economy is being held back by one of the world s lowest labour participation rates and one of its
highest unemployment rates. Barely 40% of South Africa s working age population have jobs,
compared with around 60 75% in other middle income emerging markets, according to a report
out this week by the OECD. One in three South Africans in the labour force, including half of
young black people aged 15 24, is unemployed. This, more than anything, most constrains South
Africa s economic growth, says the Paris based outfit. To create jobs for so many people would
require many years of 6% or even 7% growth , says ГЃngel GurriГЎ, the OECD s secretary
general. Pravin Gordhan, South Africa s

Guernica And Picasso
As one of the the greatest painters of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso was one of the most
influential artist. With the collaboration of Georges Braque, Picasso became the creator of
cubism, which lead to many creations, one of these being Guernica. In these creations picasso
wanted his viewers to feel the pain and suffrage of those in the bombing. He went on to develope
painting that demonstrates conflicts in political realms after being describe as the least political
person ever known.
Picasso was not interested in pleasing the public, by using the method of cubism he was saying, he
is getting beyond the surface appearances, to the core. Picasso was not interested in what we see
but what we know and feel. It didn t phase him that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To complete Guernica, Picasso bounces of ideas from Goya s The 3rd of May. In Picasso
painting there lies dead soldier has a stigmata on his hand that is a representation of the
crucifixion. This refers back to Goya s main focus, the prisoner in white. This prisoner is being
illuminated by the only source of artificial light present in the painting. With his arms raised it
seem as once a plea for mercy, and a mirror image of the crucifixion. This is an evocation of christ
s agony on the cross, which refers back to the stigmata present in Picasso s Guernica. Guernica
was indeed one of Picasso s greatest creations. The Minotauromachy depicts Picasso s hardships
and how he had to overcome them throughout his life. This painting is a very provocative scene,
that contains a variety of symbolic imagery. In this painting there is a variety of meanings such
as, good and evil, violence and innocence, and suffering and salvation. The flower girl that is
holding the only source of light present in this painting, is symbolic for a guide through the
darkness,as well as tenderness and bravery. The bull headed minotaur is used to symbolise Picasso
s alter ego. Even though at first glance the bull appears threatening, once taking a closer look you
can see that he seems to be shielding himself from the light, representing the good from the evil. The

Mainstreaming Special Needs
Mainstreaming special needs
The soaring cost of special education for disabled students has been appropriately integrated into
public schools for the common good of all students from various social classes. Special education
has had a deep histroy that has been characterized by a score of legislations that has set this form of
education and how it is administered to assimilate students with learning disabilities into standard
classrooms. In both the United Kingdom and the United States, the first account of special education
recognizes the deaf and blind students. In England the first school to cater for special education
was the Liverpool Blind School in the year 1791. In the United States, the first ever special

In spite of these legislations, the law was not acted upon or rather implemented immediately. Still, it
took time for compulsory education for all to be actualized (Kesha 120). The next stage in the
development of special education was segregatioin that sought to iinvolve student with disabilities
in the same learning instutions as all other students, but in in isolate classrooms. However, this
changed upon the enactment of the all handicapped Children Act of 1975, which introduced
mainstreaming. This had a postive implication in that handicapped chidren were included and
encouregaed to particpate in regualr classrooms hence the period of integration dawned. This was a
remarkable achievement and the Act pertaining to education for the handicapped was amended to
include six new critical elements in fostering special education. These elements were: parental
participation in the special education process, legititmate process to enforece accountability,
Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to formulate a custom program for each student, Least
Restrictive Environment (LRE) that allowed the disabled children in regular classrooms as much
as possible, A program to find and assess disabled children in a fair manner, free and approprioate
public education (FAPE) for all children. In the 20th century the law regarding special education

Depth Analysis of the Movie Crash
Abstract
This paper will provide a broad analysis of the movie Crash , and yet a specific
picture of visual narrative techniques and audio techniques. The categories contributing to the
nucleus and major movie components are theatrical elements, cinematography, editing, and sound.
The Academy Award winning movie Crash is a story about society s controversial subjects
projected in an in your face depiction of lives that in some way or another, cross.
Depth Analysis of the Movie Crash
The over all theme of the film is racism, which is dealt with honestly, brutally, and without
justification. This 2006 release from Emmy award winning writer/producer

The cast is one of the finest and consists of Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Jennifer
Esposito, William Fichtner, Brendan Fraser, Terrence Howard, Chris Ludacris Bridges, Thandie
Newton, Ryan Phillippe, Larenz Tate, and Michael Pena.
In general, actors act, and react. They act on their own, and they react to one another. After Don
Cheadle s monologue in the beginning of the film, it is clear that this film is going to be a deep
seated story. Films create movement out of images, time out of movement, and story from the
action. The writer/director Paul Haggis has a background in television, and television has multiple
stories all interweaving together. His knowledge from television helped in the editing process. In
Crash, Paul Haggis had several transitions in the story lines. He compressed some scenes because if
too long, the audience would lose interest in the other stories.
The cinematography in the movie adds a tremendous amount of experience to the film. The film
follows the lives of several characters that come from different walks of life. It is important for
the mood setting of the plot to use different techniques to help the viewer assume the role of
witness. This role is essential to the main idea of the film, which is a reflection of us and our
natural feelings that at times may be described as racist.
Lighting is a very important for any production. In the film there are several different lighting

Grover Cleveland Persuasive Essay
Grover Cleveland Grover Cleveland is the President that I chose for my final project. Grover
Cleveland was known for being an honest and trustworthy politician. However, he is probably best
known for being the only United States President who was elected to two, non consecutive terms
in office (Krull, 45). Grover Cleveland is both the 22nd and 24th President. He was also the first
President elected from the Democratic Partyafter the US Civil War. Additionally, Grover Cleveland
was the first President to be married while in office (Krull). Grover Cleveland was born on
March 18, 1837 in Caldwell, New Jersey. His birth name was Stephen Grover Cleveland. In his
later years he dropped Stephen from his name, most likely because and his friends called him
big Steve. They called him this because he was somewhat overweight and weighed in excess of
250 pounds. Consequently, he was also called Uncle Jumbo, which was a reference to a famous
circus elephant of that era. His father, Richard Falley Cleveland, was a Presbyterian minister
who died when Grover Cleveland was only sixteen years old. As a result of his father s death,
Cleveland was forced to quit school and take a job in a general store (Morris, 87). When he turned
eighteen, Cleveland moved to Buffalo, New York, where he started to study law in a law office
(Morris). Even though Cleveland did not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

economic policy. By the end of his second term the economy was still very weak and he was

Second Hand Smoke Speech
Second hand Smoke He has his father s eyes and his mother s lungs. this is the message run by a
recent anti smoking campaign. To accompany the words, there is an image of a boy who can t
be more than ten years old. What s the message here? This child is being affected by his mother s
poor choices by her second hand smoke. By this age, most of us are very aware of the dangers of
smoke, be it second hand or not. Maybe we have family members or friends who are intimate with
the addiction and can see the symptoms all too well. We have all walked by someone who has just
smoked, or is smoking. If you ve inhaled the smoke, you likely have experienced coughing,
dizziness and possibly irritation of the eyes and nose.
By now, most of us should also be conscious of the dangers spiritual second hand smoke poses.

Virtual Reality Importance
Why is Virtual Reality important? Virtual Reality can positive and negative effect on people. The
definition of Virtual Reality is An artificial environment which is experienced through sensory
stimuli (such as sights and sounds) provided by a computer and in which one s actions partially
determine what happens in the environment (www.Merriam Webster.com). Virtual reality
is probably
one of the newest and most advanced way to have a good time with friends and family. Virtual
Reality can be used so much more than it is being used today, one day it will control what we do
daily. Personally, I have only used a Virtual Reality headset two times. Although I am not very
experienced with Virtual Reality, I have had tons of fun with them and they had led to great
times with friends. I recently attended a 4 H camp where they had a couple of Virtual reality
headsets, they put us in the situation of a drunk driver hitting head on with a driver to show us
the possible dangers of drinking and driving. I thought that was one way they could further
develop and use this technology. One of the more interesting activities I have done with a Virtual
Reality headset besides playing games was exploring the universe and all the it holds. Sure it
sounds boring, but these headsets can actually be used for learning which can make a huge
difference in schools. This new technology could help with kids of all ages to learn new ways to
see in detail what their teacher is trying to explain, and to

Compression clothing is apparel designed to press firmly...
Compression clothing is apparel designed to press firmly against an athlete s body to provide
physical support. The use of compression first appeared 60 years ago to provide relief for those
suffering from circulation disorders, and clothing to provide compression had been introduced
following this. In recent years, the clothing has grown rapidly in popularity among sports
practitioners and enthusiasts. The benefits that compression clothing provides include circulation
improvements, enhanced musclerecovery from injuries, improvements in oxygen use efficiency and
distribution, and increases in overall athletic performance.
1. Circulation: A 1987 study by the American Journal of Physical Medicine showed that athletes
who wore compression ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Theories for the causes of these two benefits include improved muscle function due to the
compression clothing holding the muscles in place. When muscles are not held into place, they
vibrate, which could lead to energy loss. It is also quite likely that circulation system and oxygen
usage improvements described previously contribute to increases in athletic endurance.
For all these reasons, athletes can stand to benefit from wearing compression clothing while taking
part in sports or exercising. Due to improvements in the way the body handles oxygen and blood
during aerobic activity from wearing this type of clothing, intensity of exercise can be increased
and endurance related benefits may also be experienced. Not only can compression clothing
promote recovery from injuries, compression clothing also commonly features thick padding that
eliminates excess sweat produced by the body and provides cushioning to shield athletes bodies
from injury. Because of this, wearing compression clothing is advisable not only for efficiency
reasons, it just might make you safer while you are out on the field as well.

war conflicts. The author uses these conflicts to comment on many themes, such as, American
corruption, and its use in war, communication, and duality. However, the most important of which

One s perception on the world and how one identifies themself, changes depending on the
collective identity of their peers. This is seen in such forms as political and religious beliefs, or
one s behavior. This is commented on multiple times by various characters during the book, as
well as being evidenced by the Narrator s actions and change in behavior over the duration of the
novel. The Narrator comments on this when he states; I confess after having spent almost my
whole life in their (the right wing patriots) company, I cannot help but sympathize with them.
(pg.36). Sonny also comments on this saying; What I learned, against my will, is that it s
impossible to live among a foreign people and not be changed by them (pg. UNDEFINED). Add
some more reasoning. The Narrator during his time taking refuge in america was no longer in
personal contact with any communist, and thus showed signs of being affected by the people
around him, somewhat losing his loyalties to the communists. The Narrator ultimately feels the bite
of this when he, against orders, joins in a patriot raid against the communists, and when caught,

A Comparison of the Heroes Of The Stranger (The Outsider)...
The Absurd Heroes Of The Stranger (The Outsider) and The Myth of Sisyphus
In The Myth of Sisyphus, Sisyphus is an absurd hero because he realizes his situation, does not
appeal, and yet continues the struggle. The purpose of this essay is to demonstrate that The
Stranger is, in narrative style, also showing us an absurd hero, or the beginning of an absurd hero in
Meursault.
In The Myth of Sisyphus Camus establishes the epistemology on which he bases all his works.
Ant it s a very simple epistemology. He says: This heart within me I feel and I judge that I exist.

Lord Capulet orders Juliet to marry Count Paris. She protests, to no end. She then turns to her
mother who only says that you will do as your father says. Then, in desperation, she turns to her
nurse, who, in her inimitable way, she says well, marry him, two husbands will be better than
one, you will have more fun in bed. At this point in the play Shakespeare has, and the stage
directions are implicit in the lines themselves, left Juliet alone, alone on stage, and she kneels and
she turns now from her earthly father to her Heavenly Father and says: Is there no pity in the
clouds that can see the depth of my grief? And there is no answer, only silence. That is the absurd.
Perhaps the first absurd heroine was Rachel. You recall the slaughter of the innocents where
Herod had all the young male babies of two years and younger put to death to ensure the
liquidation of any possible king. And Rachel cried out, and Matthew tells it in these words: In
Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation and weeping and great mourning. Rachel weeping for
her children and would not be comforted because they are not. And there was no answer to the cry,
only silence. That silence is the absurd.
Is there something of this sense of the absurd to be found in Camus?

Three Certainty Requirement
This question require us to consider the three certainty requirements and the circumstances in which
a valid trust is said to be properly constituted. The general requirement to create a trust is that if the
trust is properly constituted, it bind the settlor and be enforceable by the beneficiaries. On the other
hand, if the trustis not completely constituted, it will be ineffective as the general rule requires.
Equity will not be able to help because of two of its maxims equity will not assist a volunteer and
equity will not perfect the imperfect gift . The court will be prevented from coming to the aid of a
volunteer beneficiaryregardless of how undesirable the outcome might appear.
i. Is this a gift in favour of the sister or a trust in favour of his friends? If it is a trust, has the
settlor sufficiently shown intention to subject the property to a trust obligation? An express trust is
created if only the settlor can show that he intended to subject the property to a trust obligation. It
is necessary for the settlor to show that he intend to create a trust instead of some other type of
legal relationship, e.g. gift, a power or bailment.
As Megary .J. put it in Re Kayford Ltd, the question is whether in substance a sufficient intention to
create a trust has been manifested . However, a trust can be created ... Show more content on

Mayor Of Casterbridge By Michael Farfrae Analysis
The Resentment and Downfall of an Antihero In the mid 1800s, Michael Henchard and his wife
Susan, who carried their daughter Elizabeth Jane, were walking down a path seeking a place to

Henchard (who possessed a quick temper and a drinking problem at the time) decided to slide the
cook extra money to spike his meal. After this point, the situation rapidly got out of hand and
Michael Henchard sold his wife and child to a sailor for five guineas. This was the shocking first
scene in Thomas Hardys novel, Mayor of Casterbridge, published in 1886. To proceed with the
story and jump ahead almost two decades, Susan and Elizabeth Jane sought out Henchard (since
the sailor was lost at sea and believed to never return) in the town of Casterbridge, where they
discovered that he was Mayor. From this point on, the husband and wife reconciled their
differences, married again, and started new beginnings together. However, things took a turn for
the worse ever since the two women materialized back into Henchard s life. Throughout the novel,
Donald Farfrae, a man Michael requested assistance from, availed in every aspect over Mr.

popularity, fortune, and authority. However, Farfrae was not the cause of Michael s misfortune, in

The Worldwide Problem of Deforestation
Deforestation is an increasingly prevalent problem worldwide. About half of the forests that once
covered the Earth are now gone, much of which has happened in just the past few decades. Forests
have been cleared mostly for fuel, building materials, and land for farming. Deforestation has been
expanding and accelerating into the little amount of forests that remain across the world. Not only
do forests provide useful products, but they also influence the Earths climate and are home to a
remarkable amount of biological diversity. Deforestation has taken a lot of these elements away,
and has also led to an increase in carbon dioxide. Without trees to use the increasing amounts of
carbon dioxide put out by humans, the carbon dioxide simply remains in the atmosphere.
Until recently, most of the deforestation happened in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. In the
last few decades though, the majority of deforestation has occurred in the tropics. It is estimated
that Latin America and Asia have already lost 40% of their original forest (University of
Michigan). In most of these countries, deforestation is also accelerating. There are many causes for
deforestation, including population pressure, social and political forces, and profits. The increasing
need for palm oil in today s world accounts for much of the deforestation occurring in many tropical
countries such as Indonesia. Palm oil is extremely versatile and is used in cooking, cosmetics, and
biofuels.

When conflicts arise between these two subjects, there are instances when forgiveness can take

to realize the underlying conflict that was making him miserable; he had to forgive, not give up
on life. Through this quest he finally comes to realize his misery, I knew I had to be here when
he died, I had to say farewell, And I had to finally, and sincerely, accept his apology. I should have
done it earlier (Grisham 158). When one realizes the underlying conflict that is making one
miserable, picks himself or herself up after hitting rock bottom, and works through pain and
suffering, the quest ends. One realizes not to give up. The author supports this theme with
Neely s quest toward forgiveness to show what happens if one never gives up. One learns from his
or her mistakes when he or she is in a different position. It took a man s confession on his deathbed
for Neely to finally let go. When the confessional letter is read, Neely can finally let go. He can
forgive. I believe we should all take Neely s actions as a symbol that we all should try to forgive
and forget no matter how difficult it may

Examples Of Good And Evil By Nietzsche

Sexism In The Joy Luck Club
Throughout history men have been considered superior to women and sexism has always been a
large part of many societies. The divide between women and men drives Amy Tan s The Joy Luck
Club. Through a sense of patriarchy, responsibility, and needing to prove oneself worthy, the female
characters in The Joy Luck Club find their experiences to be very different from that of their male
counterparts, demonstrating the despotic sexism of the Chinese culture during the 1940s.
As a patriarchal society, China favored the men over the women, particularly in marriage. At Lindo
s wedding, her husband, Tyan, yanked the scarf off [her] face and smiled at his friends and family,
never even looking at [her] (59), illustrating the clear male hierarchy. The woman doesn t even
matter. All that matters is the husband s success in life and a not becoming a widower. Not only
is the woman subordinate in marriage, but women are also subject to becoming concubines not
for love, but because of the prestige of owning what so many other men wanted (234), showing
not only a lack of love and passion in marriage but also a regard for women as property and a
way to sexually pleasure oneself. There is a complete lack of regard for women and their
thoughts, feelings, and opinions. Often the only way for women to survive, especially those who
have been widowed, was to consent to be a man s concubine because of his enormous wealth
(234). If a woman did not have a man, husband or otherwise, to take care

The Pros And Cons Of Slavery
Lincoln believed that slavery was ethically wrong, however there was one major issue: It was
endorsed by the most noteworthy law in the land, the Constitution. The country s establishing
fathers, who likewise battled with how to address subjugation, did not expressly compose servitude
in the Constitution, yet they included key conditions ensuring the organization, including a
criminal slave proviso and the three fifths proviso, which enabled Southern states to tally slaves for
the reasons for portrayal in the government. In a three hour discourse in Peoria, Illinois, in the fall
of 1854, Lincoln introduced more obviously than any time in recent memory his good, lawful and
monetary restriction to subjugation and after that conceded he didn t know precisely what ought to
be done about it inside the current political framework. Abolitionists, by differentiate, knew
precisely what ought to be done about it: Slavery ought to be quickly annulled, and liberated slaves
ought to be fused as equivalent individuals from society. They couldn t have cared less about
working inside the current political framework, or under the Constitution, which they saw as
treacherously ensuring bondage and slave proprietors. Driving abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison
called the Constitution a pledge with death and a concurrence with Hell, and went so far as to
consume a duplicate at a Massachusetts rally in 1854. In spite of the fact that Lincoln considered
himself to be working nearby the abolitionists in the interest of a typical abolitionist subjugation
cause, he didn t consider himself as a part of them. Just with liberation, and with his help of the
inevitable thirteenth Amendment, would Lincoln at last prevail upon the most dedicated
abolitionists. Despite the fact that Lincoln contended that the establishing fathers expression All
men are made equivalent connected to blacks and whites alike, this did not mean he figured they
ought to have a similar social and political rights. His perspectives turned out to be clear amid a
1858 arrangement of verbal confrontations with his rival in the Illinois race for U.S. Senate,
Stephen Douglas, who had blamed him for supporting negro equity. In their fourth verbal
confrontation,

The Supply And Demand For Metals Found At The Ocelot Mine
The supply and demand for metals found at the Ocelot Mine will vary by commodity although
the demand for all three is increasing. Zinc, in particular, shows the most potential for increase,
as many of the world s main producers are closing between the years 2015 and 2020 [16]. It is
believed that this will result in a gap between supply and demand. Already the demand is
outweighing the supply, and as such, zinc prices have increased dramatically. Silver and lead
also show growth potential, largely due to high demand from developing nations and the
increase in the industrial sectors of these countries. Being an operator in Peru also requires
understanding what countries are buying Peru s exports. China received 16.65% of the total
value of Peru s exports in 2012 [22]. As such, the continued growth of Peru s economy is largely
dependent on the wellbeing of China s economy. A slowdown in their economy would reduce the
ability of producers to export their products. An example of this can be seen in the financial crash
of 2008 to 2009, which had a devastating impact on the production of galvanized steel sheets. The
global production decreased by 40% during this crisis, as depicted in Figure 8.10. Since then the
market has recovered approximately 65%, primarily due to the growth in Chinese steel production
[17]. This highlights the sensitivity of the zinc market to the wellbeing of the Chinese economy.

The Social Aspect And Environment
The social aspect and environment is one of the biggest reasons why people do what they do.
Their interactions with others have contribute to their motives, drives and even thoughts, as if one
person can help mold another into who they are. In a society, there are different communities made
up of people of different races, religion and gender. In each of these communities, different morals
and values are emphasized which affects everyone in the community and influences them as a
whole. The closer the community, the more influences they have on each other whether they are
good or bad. Respected scholars Clifford Shaw and Henry D. McKay began researching the
juvenile courts records and they realized high rate of crimes weren t just based on a certain type of
individual but where the individual lived and the structure of the neighborhood and how they were
connected to the community which is called social disorganization. Social disorganization relies on
many factors including residential instability and poverty.
Social Disorganization beings with Robert Park and Ernest Burgess s Concentric Zone Model
Theory, it shows the five different zone: Central Business District, Zone in Transition (highest crime
), Zone of Workingmen s Homes, Residential Zone and Commuter Zone ( Professor Burgess
theorizes that urban areas grew from the inner core (Business District) towards outer areas
(Commuters Zone). Zone 2 is the highest level of crime where there is residential instability,

atoms tend to gain, lose, or share electrons until the shell fills up. While doing this, atoms react and
form chemical bonds with other atoms.
Based on this, what can you infer about the reactivity of helium and neon? They are both noble
gases so they are very resistant to a chemical reaction and don t react to other elements.
11. Think and discuss: Select the PERIODIC TABLE tab, and look at the second row, or period,
of the table. How does this row reflect the subshells of the second shell?
The second period on the periodic table consists of elements that are filling the 2nd energy level.

The Use Of Aestivation And Vertebrate Animals
Introduction
Aestivation is derived from Latin: aestas, summer, but also spelled aestivation in American English
is a state of animal dormancy, similar to hibernation, characterized by inactivity and a lowered
metabolic rate that is entered in response to high temperatures and arid conditions. It takes place
during times of heat and dryness, the hot dry season, which are often the summer months. [1]
Mechanism of Aestivation
Invertebrate and vertebrate animals are known to enter this state to avoid damage from high
temperatures and the risk of desiccation. Both terrestrial and aquatic animals undergo aestivation.
Organisms that aestivate appear to be in a fairly light state of dormancy, as their physiological
state can be rapidly reversed, and the organism can quickly return to a normal state. A study done
on Otala lactea, a snail native to parts of Europe and Northern Africa shows that they can wake from
their dormant state within ten minutes of being introduced to a wetter environment. Fossil records
show that the act of aestivating may be several hundred million years old.
The primary physiological and biochemical concerns for an aestivating animal are to conserve
energy, retain water in the body, ration the use of stored energy, handle the nitrogenous end
products, and stabilize bodily organs, cells, and macromolecules. This can be quite a task as hot
temperatures and arid conditions may last for months. The depression of metabolic rate during
aestivation causes a

My Reflection Of My Writing And Communication
Writing is essential to communicating on many levels, and it can display your level of
understanding or lack of understanding communicating. Whether is Facebook, Twitter, an email
to your co works, or a professional document you will be judged by your writing style based on if it
s good or bad. If your writingstyle full of miss spelled words, bad grammar, and horrible flow you
will fail to get your point across clearly and people will think you are uneducated. This class is
step one on my journey improving my writing and learning as much as possible about the
English language. Just like anything else you have to start with the basics and I feel like I
accomplished that over this last eight weeks. The first bad habit this class help me correct was
mixing up future, past tense, and current situations in one paragraph. My papers didn t have
good flow because I didn t maintain parallelism, I was just all over the place. Some of my papers
read like a bad scary movie, just jumping all over the place. That can confuse the reader because
the document become hard to follow. Parallelism add smooth flow to your paper, it can keep the
reader eyes on your document. Additionally this method helps the writer maintain consistency, and
a balanced flow of ideas. Parallelism is most important when you are trying to persuade your
audience. Run on and fragments are something most of us struggle with. Social media is full of
run on and fragments and it drive my wife crazy. I

Analysis Of The Opposite Of Loneliness By Marina Keegan
Over the summer, I had the opportunity to read. A lot. When assigned to write this letter, I
continued that trend by searching for relevant events you have been a part of, so I could
connect my findings to the books I read. Evidently, from this lackluster introduction, I was
unsuccessful in that pursuit. It s not that I don t have anything to say about the work you do, it s
just that I don t think I m qualified to tell you how to run a country, in particular, through the
implied euphemisms of a book that you probably studied in your universities literature class.
However, this is not to say I haven t learned anything from my reading, in fact, there is one
specific book have made a point of reading and re reading every few months. It s titled The
Opposite of Loneliness, written by a young woman named Marina Keegan. Marina aspired to be
a journalist before she died in a car accident only a few days after her Commencement from Yale.
It s not necessarily the actual book that has lyrical meaning, but it is the story behind the book.

Kids are stuck with massive student loans because they can take anything they wish including

Meanwhile, Alberta and Saskatchewan and mining regions are begging for welders, laborers,

having inappropriately educated kids in the major cities and jobs that only foreigners can fill in
other parts of Canada is partially a product of our education system. It costs us, in the simplest

Essay On Obamacare
Small businesses are contrived to give all of their employees health care due to Medicare.
Through the terms of ObamaCare, small businesses are compelled into closing their doors
because of all the hand outs they have to get to their employees. When small business begin to
become more successful and make more money, Medicare takes their profits away and gives it to
people who don t really need it. ObamaCare and Medicare have both taught ignorant Americans to
not get a job because they can get the same amount of money in the form of a hand out instead of
actually working for it and contributing to the economy. The tax breaks for small firms and other
factors are reliant by how much small businesses spend on health coverage (Harrison). Tax... Show

In 2007, was when the most current economic decline was introduced. Even when the U.S. is
weakening, ObamaCare will diminish the labor force size even more. It s odd that intelligent
people let welfare systems run as they do; state representatives should change these systems and
make better systems the encourage good parenting (Welfare, SSI Systems Are Being Abused by
Irresponsible Parents). State representatives should be working on chaining the welfare system
and how it operates. There are a great deal of people who are on the welfare program. There are
so many people that have welfare, that it would be very difficult to give them all jobs. If people
could be responsible for their own children, welfare wouldn t even be needed. Welfare is hurting
society as well. People would rather have another baby than give up their welfare and go to work.
(Welfare, SSI Systems Are Being Abused by Irresponsible Parents). People don t want to work,
they just want handouts to pass by in life. Medicaid disposals grew by about 100.2% throughout
the years past. Poverty will only get worse with ObamaCare continuing to exist. Essentially,
ObamaCare is corrupting society. This displays how careless the government is about money in
society.
There are so many people who cannot open their eyes to see the destruction caused by social
welfare. The government is truly paying people to not work. Thousands of people have realized
that if they keep

  • 2. Case Study 10.4 Google and Youtube Together Essay 1.In your view and experience on YouTube, will typical YouTube viewers accept advertising while watching the videos? As a YouTube user, advertising is a pain and I try to avoid it whenever possible, but it could be much worse and is generally non intrusive as possible. Some videos provide a flash overlay at the bottom of the video that displays an advertisement similar to the Google ad words advertisements that appear when using Google for searching. This flash overlay can even be closed as soon as it appears. The advertisement does not hinder the viewer from being able to watch their video immediately. The text in the case study mentions how most viewers are dissatisfied with having to watch an advertisement before viewing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Digital Millennium Copyright Act requires the owners of content to notify websites when their copyrights are infringed. This works for YouTubebecause the responsibility lies with the copyright owners to police the site and notify them when they see their material posted, but this places extra burden with those copyright holders. But if YouTube has to scan the vast numbers of videos uploaded every minute on its site, the concept of YouTube would not work because users expect their videos to be posted immediately. 3.Assume you were a manufacturer of sporting goods, and wanted to use YouTube videos as a marketing tool to establish your brand. What concerns would you have about using YouTube? Video advertisements have a response rate of 0.4%, which is still greater than regular web advertisements such as banner ads, but is not an impressive number if I were a sporting goods manufacturer looking to use YouTube video ads as a major part of my advertising budget. I can expect that a large portion of the viewing audience would skip or block out my advertisement. The return on investment is potentially very small. Another concern I would have would be copyright issues, especially since 25% of the videos on YouTube contain copyrighted material and make up possibly more than half of the total views. There could be potential risks of lawsuits from advertisements appearing on videos which contain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Differences Between Maori And Non Maori Definition. Tikanga is a noun that means the proper traditional Maori way of doing things and concerns Maori protocols of acceptable behaviour including the customary Maori values, obligations and practices that have developed over time (Maori Dictionary, n.d.), (TKI, 2011). Two key aspects of tikanga are manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga. Manaakitanga concerns hospitality and kindness towards guests, kaitiakitanga is the sense of respect that Maori have for the environment (Te Ara, 2015). Related concepts include mana (spiritual power or status), tapu (spiritual restriction) and mauri (life force or principle). Three specific interactions. In the context of the case study, the following interactions could take place: 1.Interaction One. Between Maori and non Maori. Aranui has about 11,000 inhabitants, some 17% Maori and 83% non Maori, and although the scenario makes no mention of conflict as a consequence of different racial values, it is a potential concern that development propositions could upset social cohesion and racial harmony if non Maori feel discriminated against, perhaps due to local employment opportunities favouring Maori that become available due to Maori business initiatives. A concern that only whanau will be employed. Doubtlessly, some of the 83% non Maori population will resent the $10 million Treaty settlement. Potentially, this interaction could be very positive should both Maori and non Maori see mutual benefit in the development proposition. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Molar Mass Of Butane And Unknown Molar Mass of Butane and unknown Abstract: The purpose of this lab is to find the molar mass of mixed gases in a lighter, and to calculate the exact mixture of gases in the lighter. The results of this lab were the mass of the lighter, as 100 mL of water was displaced, was 0.27g, 0.17g, and 0.28g. The molar masses of the gasses for three trials were 64.3 g/mol, 40.5 g/mol, and 66.7 g/mol. Background: The purpose of this lab is to find the molar mass of mixed gases in a lighter, and to calculate the exact mixture of gases in the lighter. While collecting the volume of Butane gas in a lighter, the molar mass can also be determined. When attempting to find the molar mass, water displacement is the best method to use. This can be determined because the equal volumes of all gases contain equal number of particles, so long as they are measured at the same temperature and pressure. Ideal gas law is the chemistry involved with this experiment. The equations M=mRT/PV and PV=nRT can be seen throughout this experiment. Pre Lab questions: The Ideal gas law demonstrates a relationship between different values in the equation PV=nRT. The ideal gas law will be used to find the molar mass of butane. The ideal gas law can be changed with the equation n=m/M. It can be seen that moles equals mass over molar mass. This can be changed, and substituted into the Ideal gas law to find the molar mass. The equation goes from PV=nRT to M=mRT/PV. Molar Mass is the mass of a given substance. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Potential Of The Se Re Innovations 3.Literature Review 3.1Potential for the SE RE innovations SE RE is a fairly new concept but many researches proves the high potential of its development. First of all, embracing the social values is the aim of social enterprises, including the environmental sector such as using green energy, recycling or tracking the fuel poverty. Moreover, growing state support for developing RET and the technical reserve of RETs (like unmanaged woodlands, garden waste going to landfill, etc.) (Kellett, 2007), are giving SE a potential market to explore (Van der Horst, 2008). The Northern Periphery Programme energy cluster has highlighted that social entrepreneurship has not been yet fully utilized in renewable energy solutions (SECRE, 2013). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As mentioned in Section ‎2.1, more constraints may appear including finance, staff, management, marketing, legal status, etc. Many case studies state, as most investors prefer established and commercially viable enterprises more than start ups and smaller enterprises, it is difficult to access capital (Smith, at el., 2014). Moreover, many social enterprises cannot fund themselves entirely through sales or investment to get a share in traditional financial markets, which resulting in a financial social return gap (Bugg Levine, at el., 2012). The hybrid nature also brings challenges to its management level. Except establishing and legitimating organization, managers also have to find suitable way to committed volunteers and employers and enlarged governance structures (Borzaga, at el., 2001). The sorry state of the non profit directors (Appendix ‎G) is shown in the recent survey, which is among 924 nonprofit directors carried out by Stanford researchers (HBR, 2015). Human resources is also one of the challenges social enterprises need to face. Lack of expertise in business planning, legal and marketing skills is one reason. Also, hard to provide competitive salaries and even relying on staff commitment to the social mission to make up it, may lead to staff shortage (Smith, at el., 2014). Social ... A Summary OfFrindle By Andrew Clements Frindle by Andrew Clements illustrated by Brian Selznick Nick Allen is a child full of ideas who decides to replace the word pen with the word frindle after his teacher has told him that words are formed by the people making them, therefore he must try it out for himself and gets six of his friends to commit to using the word frindle instead of pen. Nick and his friends made a big show about using the new word every time they needed to say pen, however Mrs. Granger, the fifth grade, language arts teacher was not in favor of the use of the word and asked them not to use it. That was not going to stop the group. So, the punishment for using the word was writing sentences in afterschool detention. The word caught on all over school ... Inside the white envelope also came a box with Mrs. Granger s favorite fountain pen, it had a small note attached saying frindle on it. Then he did something special, he gave Mrs. Granger a gold pen with this inscription This object belongs to Mrs. Lorelei Granger, and she may call it any name she chooses With love from Nicholas Allen The event of the story is factual in that it could happen and it is also social in the way that Nick was able to get the word started. • 9. Analysis Of Hiroshima By John Hersey The book Hiroshima by John Hersey is, to me, one of the most captivating literary works to date. This nonfictional book centers around the lives of six survivors two women, two doctors, a Reverend, and a Father of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. Throughout the book, the author traces their lives before, during, and after the massive bombing that killed nearly three fourths of Hiroshimas entire population. The book s setting, Hiroshima bombing in 1945, is a significant element in the story as it shapes the tone, mood, and vividness of the book, altogether making it a fascinating story. Moments before the bombing, Hersey briefly describes what his six characters are doing. For one of the characters, the author writes, Dr. Terufumi Sasaki, a young member of the surgical staff of the city s large, modern Red Cross Hospital, walked along one of the hospital corridors with a blood specimen for a Wassermann test in his hand... (Hersey 1). By simply giving a description of his character moments before the bombing, Hersey gives his readers a picture of their lives and how their lives will soon begin anew. Furthermore, by showing the normality of the character s current situation, he gives the reader the idea that everything is just the way it is. With that mood set, the bombing will be an unexpected event that causes shock to the reader, marking the story both intriguing and compelling. In Hiroshima, there are certain areas where a reader will encounter a character in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Klinefelter Syndrome Research Paper 0.78 percent of Americans a total of 2,540,460 identify as transgender(denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex). The number of people identifying as transgender is on the rise and so is the thought that gender is determined by what the individual identifies as. However genderis determined by genetics. The X and Y chromosomes are what determine the gender of a person. Depending on whether the sperm that impregnates a femalecarries an X or Y will determine the gender of the offspring. A Y chromosome will cause the offspring to be malewhile if the offspring has an X it will be female. Some offspring will be born with more X s or Y s often know as klinefelter syndrome, XXXY syndrome, 49,XXXXY syndrome, XXX syndrome, and tetrasomy X. Males with klinefelter syndrome, XXXY syndrome, and 49, XXXXY syndrome are still male though many suffer from shorter stature, enlarged breasts, hypogonadism, cryptorchidism, and deficient growth hormones. • 11. Application Verification Calibration Circuit For Workstations Our capstone project, DDR4 INTERFACE DESIGN VERIFICATON FOR SERVERS aims at the design verification calibration circuit for high speed interfaces for memory subsystems. These interfaces allow for data transfer to and from the memory to facilitate interoperability. During the initial phase, we thoroughly studied the unique features and requirements of DDR4, the latest and fastest version of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and the implications of those factors for controller and physical layer design. In this project, my initial focus was on the physical layer that connects the DDR4 memory to its controller. After an extensive literature review, I narrowed my focus to the design and verification of calibration circuit, which is going to be used to calibrate resistance and slew rate of drivers at IO buffers to provide better communication with external devices. 2.1. Overview The DDR4 memory works at twice the data rate of its predecessors. This is facilitated by the physical layer, which needs to be capable of reliably handling twice the data rate than it did with the previous version of DRAM, DDR3. At the integrated circuits level, several changes have been made to allow for this. Owing to these changes in specifications, the DDR4 subsystem is capable of achieving the doubled data rates at a lower power consumption allowing for prolonged battery life in devices employing this ... Overall, geometric shapes and patterns play an essential role in what the viewer sees, which is further supported by a powerful color palate. Picasso uses texture and an array of complementary and analogous colors characterized by a range of hues, values, and light to create a dramatic difference between the two subjects. The dominant and repetitive colors in the painting are green, yellow, lavender, red, and blue. The use of color, especially when used with the different geometric shapes, creates both a range of values as well as contrasts to adjacent areas. The profile and frontal head have lighter values such as yellow and lavender, whereas the reflection, painted with a rough charcoal texture has a dominance of blue, especially around the face, reflecting darker values. The use of complementary colors such as red and green create a brighter canvas, while the use of analogous combinations such as green and yellow, and green and blue blend well together. Overall, the reds and greens are bright throughout, giving intensity to the painting while the use of soft blue in the reflection, is not as intense and warm. Picasso also uses complementary colors of red and green against lavender in the figure to make the figure prominent. In the reflection, analogous colors are used throughout, but predominately on the top with purple ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Stereotypes In Cowboys How is a man perceived in American society today and how is that man affected by those perceptions. Men can be perceived in many ways by many different people. Most men can be said they are the head of the house and can be considered for everything to be in their masculine way. A perception is more like a view or an opinion that is incorrect because it is based on false information or misunderstandings. Throughout our American society we see that in men not only in cowboys men are perceived as more of a men person uncaring and unloving and can just go out and work and bring money home. Things like this create perceptions towards manand how other people may criticize. For example, a man can hide its love emotions but still love someone, he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this case one example the American cowboy how many people perceive him as always being with his cows and never at home and can show that he always cares about his animals but can hardly be at home. Meaning something like what Ehrlich says in her essay, gentle with animals and tough on women (106). This can be said by many man especially cowboys if one is always with calf and treats them good it can be really easy to be gentle and caring towards those animals. Towards women it s harder because since they don t like to show their emotions at home as men think it s a weakness to show love in words. In reality that is not a truth it s a perception affecting men in a negative way as the fact that cowboys are always spending time with their animals rather than being at home loving and caring about their family or wifes doesn t make it true that they are really tough on women. This example does not only follow cowboys it follows men in general in our American society because a man who is always working or has something going on after work is just hardly at work can be said to be uncaring and unloving of his family. This is a perception that many men may face but what people don t see is that they may not be at home because they are working longer hours for a better life to their family or other stuff. Even though some men may be out late or hardly home because other stuff and because of those men bad perceptions are made our American society will but should not judge all men like ... • 15. Cost Vs Cremation Method Although opinions on disposal of bodies differ, cremation is the best method; therefore, cremation should be more widely used. There are many difficult decisions to make when your loved one dies. The biggest decision is how to dispose of the body. The options for disposal are varied. Families choose how they want the remains disposed of based on their moral and cultural beliefs. The cost of cremationis less than the cost of burialand is one reason why cremation is the best method of disposal. On average, the cost of cremation is a third less than the cost of a tradition burial. When a body is buried the costs include a casket, the burial plot, a service for them and any additional add ons they may want. A traditional burial with a service typically costs about $7,700, while a cremation with a service costs about $1,600. This makes cremation a better method, because the family is saving money. Some people believe that they can t remember a person if they don t have a marked place to remember them so they choose the traditional burial. Even though the ashes of a cremated body can also be put in the ground. This adds to the cost but not by much, so overall the cost is still significantly less.... • 19. Essay on Popular Music Revolution Music has undergone many changes throughout and history and prehistory. These changes were always somehow connected to sociological movements at the time. Rock music evolved mostly out of a need by young people of the fifties to break away from so cietal norms. America had just come out of the Korean War, and men looked to settle down into a peaceful life. Also just prior this time period, Senator Joseph McCarthy ac tively encouraged citizens to conform with his infamously false accusations of Commu nism. This became another reason for the music s popularity because they were given a chance to rebel against their parents. There is nothing prohibiting a situation like this from happening again. Today, teenagers in general strive to become different from their parents. This causes new styles to emerge in music. The most common deviation form the main rock theme is vulgarity in lyrics. The definition of Virtual Reality is An artificial environment which is experienced through sensory stimuli (such as sights and sounds) provided by a computer and in which one s actions partially determine what happens in the environment (www.Merriam Webster.com). Virtual reality is probably one of the newest and most advanced way to have a good time with friends and family. The use of compression first appeared 60 years ago to provide relief for those suffering from circulation disorders, and clothing to provide compression had been introduced following this. In recent years, the clothing has grown rapidly in popularity among sports practitioners and enthusiasts. The benefits that compression clothing provides include circulation improvements, enhanced musclerecovery from injuries, improvements in oxygen use efficiency and distribution, and increases in overall athletic performance. 1. Theories for the causes of these two benefits include improved muscle function due to the compression clothing holding the muscles in place. When muscles are not held into place, they vibrate, which could lead to energy loss. It is also quite likely that circulation system and oxygen usage improvements described previously contribute to increases in athletic endurance. For all these reasons, athletes can stand to benefit from wearing compression clothing while taking part in sports or exercising. Due to improvements in the way the body handles oxygen and blood during aerobic activity from wearing this type of clothing, intensity of exercise can be increased and endurance related benefits may also be experienced. Not only can compression clothing promote recovery from injuries, compression clothing also commonly features thick padding that eliminates excess sweat produced by the body and provides cushioning to shield athletes bodies from injury. Because of this, wearing compression clothing is advisable not only for efficiency reasons, it just might make you safer while you are out on the field as well. Sources: Earnshaw, Kyle. About half of the forests that once covered the Earth are now gone, much of which has happened in just the past few decades. Forests have been cleared mostly for fuel, building materials, and land for farming. Deforestation has been expanding and accelerating into the little amount of forests that remain across the world. Not only do forests provide useful products, but they also influence the Earths climate and are home to a remarkable amount of biological diversity. Deforestation has taken a lot of these elements away, and has also led to an increase in carbon dioxide. Without trees to use the increasing amounts of carbon dioxide put out by humans, the carbon dioxide simply remains in the atmosphere. Until recently, most of the deforestation happened in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. In the last few decades though, the majority of deforestation has occurred in the tropics. It is estimated that Latin America and Asia have already lost 40% of their original forest (University of Michigan). In most of these countries, deforestation is also accelerating. There are many causes for deforestation, including population pressure, social and political forces, and profits. The increasing need for palm oil in today s world accounts for much of the deforestation occurring in many tropical countries such as Indonesia. Zinc, in particular, shows the most potential for increase, as many of the world s main producers are closing between the years 2015 and 2020 [16]. It is believed that this will result in a gap between supply and demand. Already the demand is outweighing the supply, and as such, zinc prices have increased dramatically. Silver and lead also show growth potential, largely due to high demand from developing nations and the increase in the industrial sectors of these countries. Being an operator in Peru also requires understanding what countries are buying Peru s exports. China received 16.65% of the total value of Peru s exports in 2012 [22]. As such, the continued growth of Peru s economy is largely dependent on the wellbeing of China s economy. A slowdown in their economy would reduce the ability of producers to export their products. An example of this can be seen in the financial crash of 2008 to 2009, which had a devastating impact on the production of galvanized steel sheets. The global production decreased by 40% during this crisis, as depicted in Figure 8.10. Since then the market has recovered approximately 65%, primarily due to the growth in Chinese steel production [17]. • 50. The Use Of Aestivation And Vertebrate Animals Introduction Aestivation is derived from Latin: aestas, summer, but also spelled aestivation in American English is a state of animal dormancy, similar to hibernation, characterized by inactivity and a lowered metabolic rate that is entered in response to high temperatures and arid conditions. It takes place during times of heat and dryness, the hot dry season, which are often the summer months. [1] Mechanism of Aestivation Invertebrate and vertebrate animals are known to enter this state to avoid damage from high temperatures and the risk of desiccation. Both terrestrial and aquatic animals undergo aestivation. Organisms that aestivate appear to be in a fairly light state of dormancy, as their physiological state can be rapidly reversed, and the organism can quickly return to a normal state. A study done on Otala lactea, a snail native to parts of Europe and Northern Africa shows that they can wake from their dormant state within ten minutes of being introduced to a wetter environment. Fossil records show that the act of aestivating may be several hundred million years old. The primary physiological and biochemical concerns for an aestivating animal are to conserve energy, retain water in the body, ration the use of stored energy, handle the nitrogenous end products, and stabilize bodily organs, cells, and macromolecules. This can be quite a task as hot temperatures and arid conditions may last for months. The depression of metabolic rate during aestivation causes a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
