SESION 1 “TOYS“ LESSON PLAN 1
Timetable: Thursday, 13th
August. FirstGradefrom 16.00 to 16.50. Second
Grade from16.50 to 17.30.

Personal aims: Introducenew vocabulary abouttoys to the students.
Make the classes enjoyableso that the children are able to learn through
play. Providea context (children’s day- toys) for the new unit and engage
the students into meaningful activities.
Ojectives: by the end of the lesson the students will be able to identify
some toys and say the toy words; recognizethe toy words after listening
to them; repeat the pronunciation of the new words.
Language exponents
Vocabulary: ball, car, doll, teddy bear, block, kite.
Prior knowledge:on the previous two units the children haveseen
numbers from1 to 10 and colours: autumn colours (red, orange, green,
brown, yellow) and winter colours (pink, blue, black, white, purple). We
will activate that vocabulary so that the students may useit.
Grammar: What is it? What’s this? It’s a …?
Is it a ball? Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.

ACTIVITIES
WARM-UP
1- We will work with realia, presenting real toys to our students in order
to strengthen kids'associations between words for everyday objects
and the objects themselves. The purposeis to contextualize those
objects into the currentcelebration: Children’s Day. Then, wewill tell
them they will learn about some toys. Wewill write on the board the
word “TOYS”. Timing 5 to 10’.
BODY OF THE LESSON
1- The new vocabulary (car, doll, block, kite, teddy bear and ball) will be
introduced to the kids through the use of flashcards. Timing 10’.
2- An integration of toys, colours and numbers will be done through a
dictation. Timing 15 to 20’.
Transcript:
Children you will listen a number and you willcountand colour.
Colour five red balls.
Colour seven green cars.
Colour four pink teddy bears.
Colour two yellow dolls.
Colour six blue kites.
Finally, colour ten purple blocks.

FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY
1- The students will play a shortgame consisting of throwing a block
which will contain a flashcard on each of its sides. Every kid will throw
the block and then all the children haveto say which toy is shown in
the flashcard they are watching to.
