SESION 1 “TOYS“ LESSON PLAN 3
Timetable: Thursday, 27th
August. FirstGradefrom 16.00 to 16.50. Second
Grade from16.50 to 17.30.
Trainees: Costoya, Cinthia; Much, Micaela Luján
Personal aims: Strengthen the vocabulary abouttoys which was worked
on the two previous classes. Makethe classes enjoyableso that the
children are able to learn through play. Providea context (children’s day-
toys) for the new unit and engage the students into meaningful activities.
Objectives: by the end of the lesson the students will have learn the toy
words with which they have been working thetwo previous classes. They
will distinguish each of the toy words and also, they will be able of
associating each toy image with their correspondentword.
Language exponents
Vocabulary: ball, car, doll, teddy bear, block, kite.
Prior knowledge:on the previous class the children have been working
with the vocabulary concerning toys. They havealso worked on the word
toys pronunciation.
Grammar: What is it? What’s this? It’s a …?
Is it a ball? Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.

ACTIVITIES
WARM-UP
1- We will startthe class making a shortrevision about the vocabulary
taught the previous classes, so thatthe children will bring to their
memories the toy words. For thatactivity we will usethe toy images
and their correspondent words. Theimages will be stuck on the board
and behind the images will be all the toy words. Thechildren will have
to match each word with the image they belong to.
BODY OF THE LESSON
1- The children will be asked to makean activity consisting of colouring
each different toy with a different colour. Then they will haveto count
how many toys there are of each one (how many cars; how many balls,
how many dolls, etc) and finally, write the number in a squarebehind
each image. Then, in order to correct all together and to providea
general feedback, we will ask the children some questions using the
following structures: How many cars? Yes, five yellow cars. The
purposeof these questions is to provokechildren’s oral participation.

Transcript:
Colour the cars purple
Colour the dolls pink
Colour the balls blue
Colour the blocks red
Colour the teddy bearsbrown
Colour the kites yellow
2- The following activity will require a shortdictation in which wewill say
any toy present in the page with will be coloured in a determined
colour, so the children will have to match a half of a toy image with
their correspondent another half and then colour the toys.

3- “Bingo!”. In order to revisethe numbers from1 to 10, wewill give each
pupil a sheet of paper divided into six sections with a number between
1 and 10 in each of them. We will call out a number so that if they have
the number on their paper, they cross itout. This procedurewill be
repeated with other numbers. When a child has crossed out all six
numbers, they should shout “Bingo!”.
FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY
1- We will give our students a worksheetwherethey will haveto draw
their favourite toy. This activity we will assigned as homework and
to be handed in the following class.

Session 1"Toys".

  • 1. 1 SESION 1 “TOYS“ LESSON PLAN 3 Timetable: Thursday, 27th August. FirstGradefrom 16.00 to 16.50. Second Grade from16.50 to 17.30. Trainees: Costoya, Cinthia; Much, Micaela Luján Personal aims: Strengthen the vocabulary abouttoys which was worked on the two previous classes. Makethe classes enjoyableso that the children are able to learn through play. Providea context (children’s day- toys) for the new unit and engage the students into meaningful activities. Objectives: by the end of the lesson the students will have learn the toy words with which they have been working thetwo previous classes. They will distinguish each of the toy words and also, they will be able of associating each toy image with their correspondentword. Language exponents Vocabulary: ball, car, doll, teddy bear, block, kite. Prior knowledge:on the previous class the children have been working with the vocabulary concerning toys. They havealso worked on the word toys pronunciation. Grammar: What is it? What’s this? It’s a …? Is it a ball? Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.
  • 2. 2 ACTIVITIES WARM-UP 1- We will startthe class making a shortrevision about the vocabulary taught the previous classes, so thatthe children will bring to their memories the toy words. For thatactivity we will usethe toy images and their correspondent words. Theimages will be stuck on the board and behind the images will be all the toy words. Thechildren will have to match each word with the image they belong to. BODY OF THE LESSON 1- The children will be asked to makean activity consisting of colouring each different toy with a different colour. Then they will haveto count how many toys there are of each one (how many cars; how many balls, how many dolls, etc) and finally, write the number in a squarebehind each image. Then, in order to correct all together and to providea general feedback, we will ask the children some questions using the following structures: How many cars? Yes, five yellow cars. The purposeof these questions is to provokechildren’s oral participation.
  • 3. 3 Transcript: Colour the cars purple Colour the dolls pink Colour the balls blue Colour the blocks red Colour the teddy bearsbrown Colour the kites yellow 2- The following activity will require a shortdictation in which wewill say any toy present in the page with will be coloured in a determined colour, so the children will have to match a half of a toy image with their correspondent another half and then colour the toys.
  • 4. 4 3- “Bingo!”. In order to revisethe numbers from1 to 10, wewill give each pupil a sheet of paper divided into six sections with a number between 1 and 10 in each of them. We will call out a number so that if they have the number on their paper, they cross itout. This procedurewill be repeated with other numbers. When a child has crossed out all six numbers, they should shout “Bingo!”. FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY 1- We will give our students a worksheetwherethey will haveto draw their favourite toy. This activity we will assigned as homework and to be handed in the following class.
