This document discusses the potential of seaweed as a functional food to address cardiovascular problems in Indonesia. Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death in Indonesia. The objective is to understand how seaweed, specifically Sargassum species, can benefit the body and reduce cardiovascular risk factors. Sargassum seaweed contains soluble fiber that lowers cholesterol levels and high antioxidants like vitamins A, C, and E that act as antioxidants. It has the potential to be developed into a functional food that prevents cardiovascular disease.
