Data Warehousing And Mobile Computing
I. Abstract
Data warehousing and mobile computing are the way of the future, yet the literature on the topic is
somewhat scarce at present. This literature review focuses on the interaction of data mining, data
warehousing, mobile computing and security under the following guiding research question: How
can the mobile application of data mining and data warehousing retain a high level of security?
While cloud computing is a problematic and groundbreaking, it is useful way to engage in data
mining and warehousing in the mobile computing context. This literature review also focuses on
the ethical use of data mining, policy recommendations and adoption of security protocols, and
future research suggestions.
II. Introduction
Cloud computing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The core of the essay focuses on conducting a literature review. The literature review focuses on
four major sets of academic and research literature related to this topic: first, data mining; second,
data warehousing; third, mobile computing; and finally, on the topic of security itself. These are
all fast moving fields, and all of these comprise rapidly changing sets of literature and material due
to the subject matter. The literature were examined in order to answer the question of how mobile
applications of data mining and data warehousing can set and retain a high level of security.
III. Literature Review As mentioned above, the literature review focuses on the four main topics of
investigation. Focusing on data mining, data warehousing; mobile computing and while also
focusing on security within each topic. Themes of organizational culture and communication
emerge, which in turn sheds a light on importance of information security and the need of
centralization.
a. Data Mining Data mining is a relatively new phenomenon, therefore the number of peer reviewed
journal articles, blogs and other online sources on the topic are limited but growing rapidly. One
key book, Data Mining and Analysis: Fundamental Concepts and Algorithms by Zaki and Meira Jr.,
takes an algorithmic approach, as the title suggests. Zaki and Meira Jr. define data mining by
stating that data mining comprises the core algorithms that enable one to gain fundamental insights
and knowledge

The Importance Of Global Poverty In Africa
Africa is one of the first countries that come to mind when you think of global poverty. Many
places in Africa can be found on the global poverty list, such as Malawi, Burundi, and
Madagascar. Malawi has GDP per capita of $226.50...Holding a population of 16 million while
also being of the smallest... ( Top 10 Poorest Countries in the World 2017 List 2017) Malawi is
considered to be the weakest nation, it suffers the most. From lacking a decent education to the
standards of living conditions. Burundi on another hand has a GDP per capita of $267.10... Aside
from the estimated 300,000 civilian casualties resulting in a 67 percent, povertyrate, the violent
political rivalries were also detrimental to Burundi s agricultural development. ( Top 10 Poorest
Countries in the World 2017 List 2017) With Burundi being the second on the list of ten
countries listed, they are struggling because they are lacking consistent weather and sustainable
land. Last but not least, Madagascar is the sixth on the list and has a GDP per capita of $463.00
. ( Top 10 Poorest Countries in the World 2017 List 2017) The ability to live on the island is
basically nonexistent being as they lack many of the necessities needed to live. If the poorer people
feel the support of the people around them they will start being able to help themselves.
Another country that is in a really bad condition is Asia, According to World Banks report in 2016,

Martin Luther King J. And Malcolm X Essay
The 1950 s and 1960 s was an era of major conflict between African Americans and whites in the
United States which led to discrimination and disorder in the states. African Americans were
fortunate to have outstanding leaders who fought for a difference and change during the Civil
Rights movement. Both Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X were two powerful individuals
who gave hope to African Americans and oppressed people in the United States. They are both well
known individuals for their Civil Rights protesting. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X both
spread the message about African Americans having power and strength in the center of all the
hatred and discrimination around them. Although both leaders had the same dream and goal of...

One of Martin Luther King Jr. s greatest civil right acts accomplishment was the march on
Washington on August 28, 1963 where more than 20,000 people came to march from Washington
to the Lincoln memorial in Washington D.C. In the March for Jobs and Freedom in Washington
D.C. 1963 King gave his famous I Have a Dream speech that spoke of his hope for equality for all
Americans. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted all the races to come together for the hatred,
discrimination, and violence to be put to an end. Beyond the 1963 March on Washington, King
and his followers used a variety of nonviolent tactics to achieve equality through grassroots
activism, including the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955, the student sin ins of 1960, the Freedom
Rides of 1961, the 1963 demonstrations in Birmingham, and the Selma March of 1965. These
provided King with the opportunity to demonstrate the power of nonviolence in destroyed legal
segregation in American life (Cone 176). The 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights
Bill showed the success of King s nonviolent approach.
Even though Martin Luther King, Jr. worked with white leaders to try and achieve civil rights for
African Americans, he knew that the African Americancommunity was getting frustrated with the
way things were going. Dr. King knew that violence was a threat if change didn t happen quickly
during the Civil Rights Movement. He told President Kennedy: if something isn t done to give the

Being An Alcoholic
This time they decided to send me out of town to a program in Arizona. I arrived there on a
Friday, however, the program wasn t to commence until that Monday. There was no way I was
going to check in and be on lockdown, knowing that I still had a weekend to play with. I checked
into a hotel and prepared myself for, what I thought would turn out, a great time. I learned that
things don t always turn out as planned. I hit the town running at full speed seeking the first bar I
could locate to get things kicked off. Before I knew it, I had gone from one bar to another, even
catching taxis to get to and from them. When I made it back to the hotelroom, I was pretty loaded
and should have called it quits. But there s another thing I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But the party didn t end there. Later that Saturday afternoon, I was released on my own
reconnaissance and I headed back to the room. I still had a full day to enjoy prior to checking in
on that Monday and I had no plans on allowing it to go to waste. I had my wallet with my debit
card in it and conveniently enough, there was an ATM machine in the lobby of the hotel. I
withdrew additional funds from my bank account and once again I was out and about in pursuit
of some to drink. I tried to convince myself to be more careful the second time around because I
didn t want to repeat what I had just experienced the night before. Early on, everything was going
as planned. I was drinking, feeling good and was still partially coherent. I was feeling well
enough to call it quits, but the night still seemed young and I thought I d challenge a few more
shots prior to retiring for that evening. I believe I can vaguely remember having one more drink
before everything went pitch black again. By the time the lights came back on, once again, there I
was on the county s floor as a repeat offender of public intoxication.
There was, however, something different about this time. Before I was released that Sunday, one
of the deputies pulled me to the side for a quick chat. He told me that I was found in a dark space
behind an abandoned building with my shirt open and my pockets turned inside out missing all of
its contents. I

President Vs. British Prime Minister
In times of peace and in times of peril, great leaders experience the highs and lows of their office,
and are eternally judged through the microscope of history. Although both icons play a similar role
in the executive leadership in government of their country, there are several differences which
separate the President of the United Statesand the British Prime Minister.
The President is directly elected by the people every four years through the electoral college.
The candidate that acquires the greatest amount of votes claims the presidency and is allowed to
serve up to two, four year terms. Unlike the President, the Prime Minister is elected by the
majority party to which he/she belongs and is officially appointed by the Monarch. A Prime
Minister is elected every five years, but there is no limit to how many terms they are able to lead
their respective party and lead their nation in their role as Prime Minister.
Another difference between the United States President and British Prime Minister is that the
President derives his powers from the Constitution of the United States of America, while the Prime
Minister derives his powers from constitutional conventions. This means that even though the
United Kingdom does not have a single, written constitution, there is a collection of rules that have

Congress. Different to the United States Presidency, the British Prime Minister shares his executive
power with the Monarch. Since there is shared power, the Prime Minister is the head of
government while the Monarch is the head of state. The Prime Minister is a part of both the
legislative and executive branches, which gives him the right to the position of leader of the House.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Research Paper
Many TV shows have made positive difference in my life. Each show has taught me something,
regardless of how pointless or unrealistic the show may seem. One show that I have been I an
avid fan of since grade school is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Throughout the series Buffy really
discovers who she is. She starts the series as a high school girl who wants absolutely nothing to
do with being a vampire slayer, but by the end of the series she trains potential slayers and leads
the fight The First. Buffy showed me that you can start off knowing nothing and being an
outcast, and still become the greatest at what you do. The message is that you can be a high
school girl, but can make an impact on the world. This is reinforced by when in the series finale
the power to be a slayer is unleashed to every potential slayer in the world. The spin off of Buffy
the Vampire Slayeris Angel, a show about Buffy s love interest Angel, who is a vampire with a
soul. Before Angel was cursed with a soul he killed many people, but when he got a soul he felt
very remorseful and wanted to help people.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout most of the series it would seem that there is no message to the show, other than
attempting to figure out many of the conspiracy theories that circle around the show, such as did
Dale know about John Redcorn being Joseph s father (he did) or who was really Bobby s father
(it was Bill). To me the message of the show is almost entirely contained in the last episode of
the series: that no matter how weird or different you may be you can be successful when you
find your place to succeed. Throughout the series Bobby is a weird kid who is a lot different
from his family, especially his dad, Hank. During the last episode Bobby connects to Hank through
grilling, and it also reveals things about the other characters, such as that Boomhauer was a police
officer, not just a strange neighbor. The episode showed that every person has a

Influenza Virus Essay
There are different ways a molecule can be endocytosed into cell. Rust and colleagues focused on
two different mechanisms: clathrin mediated endocytosis and clathrin and caveolin independent
endocytosis. Using real time visualization of the influenza virus, Rust and colleagues were able to
observe these two pathways in action. They hypothesized that without inhibiting endogenous
endocytic mechanisms of the cell, the influenza virus would use both types of pathways to enter a
cell.
Multiple assays were performed in this article. Firstly, the authors fluorescently labeled clathrin with
EYFP and transfected their construct into their cells, creating a stable cell line. Figure 1 exists to
demonstrate the efficacy of their fluorescently tagged clathrin construct. They first produced an
immunofluorescent image ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The de novo formation of CCPs induced by viral binding suggests a manipulation of the clathrin
signaling pathway. Since clathrin recruitment is initiated by AP2 after AP2 detects PI(4,5)P and
cargo, the virus could be interacting with any one of these three elements in clathrin induced
endocytosis. However, as the authors point out, influenza binds to sialic acids on the cell surface
and not normal cargo receptors that interact with AP2. So how, then, would AP2 be coerced into
recognizing the virus as cargo on the cell membrane and hence recruit clathrin? They suggest there
is an induction of curvature on the membrane perhaps involving amphiphysin. A logical next step
would be to mutate amphiphysin and/or other similar BAR domains, infect cells with a tagged
influenza virus and transfected fluorescent clathrin, and determine whether or not de novo CCPs
can be formed. Comparing this assay to a control using wild type amphiphysin, one could draw a
conclusion as to the extent of influence BAR domains have on viral entry and clathrin

Designing primers and optimisation of a Real Time PCR assay
Introduction
This essay based on the principle of real time PCR which uses CYBR green dye that combines to
any double stand DNA. This process included two maim steps. The first step was designing of
HSV 1 primer and /or HSV 2 primer (we have chosen only HSV 1). BioEdit software has been
used to edit the nuclide sequences where necessary. After that the primer has been ordered. The
second step was in the laboratory which included applying the HSV 1 primers to real time PCR
protocol. The final results of this protocols aim to demonstrate the quality of HSV 1 primer that we
have designed by interpretation three criteria. These are specificity, efficiency and... Show more

Whereas the reaction products are not specific the SYBR green dye added to the reaction mixture to
quantitatively indicate the amount of dsDNA in the reaction mixture by providing amplification
plot and melt curve as well as the melt temperature plot that used in may offers useful information
about the sensitivity of the DNA template in the sample (Giglio, Monis and Saint, 2003).
From PowerUp SYBR Green Fast PCR master mix kit two reaction mixtures have been prepared.
Reference primers (PowerUp SYBR Green Fast PCR master mix, forward primer, reverse primer
and ultrapure water).
Own primer (PowerUp SYBR Green Fast PCR master mix, the forward primer we have ordered,
reverse primer we have ordered and ultrapure water).

A Critical Discourse Analysis Framework Essay
Methodology A critical discourse analysis framework News is manufactured industrially and deeply
influenced by the bureaucratic and economic structure of the media industry, by relations between
the media and other industries, and by relations with authoritative apparatuses and institutions such
as government. It reflects the prevailing values of a society in a particular historical context and
simultaneously shapes the society in return (Fowler, 1991/2013). Although we cannot simply
suggest an explicit causal relation between structurally determined material and symbolic resources
and the actual cultural practices, a pure linguistic analysis may still overlook the external
constraints and the effects of the cultural practices. The embryo of cultural studies finds its roots in
the historical context of a social structure shaped by industrial capitalism and the increasingly
commercialized system of cultural production, distribution, and consumption. To some extent, the
reference to power and struggle, domination and subordinations is the mantra to sustain and
legitimatize the existing cultural studies literature (N. Graham, 1999). While avoiding the notion
that Marxism and cultural studies form immediate affinity, cultural studies still has to establish
itself as a worldly vocation by coping with the tension between the study of the text and its
affiliations with institutions, classes, nations, races, and genders, and etc. (Hall, 1999a). The

Development Of Life On Earth
There are too many variables to replicate the development of life on earth. The variables need to
replicate the development of life on earth are the relationships between the conditions on early earth
and the origin of organic molecules, the changes in technology that have assisted in the
development of an increasing understanding of the origin of life and evolution of living things, the
major stages in the evolution of living things, and the palaeontological and geological evidence that
suggests when life originated on earth.
The Earth s age is approximately 4.6 billion years old. The Hadean Eon was the formation of the
Earth. The Earth was transformed from a gaseous cloud into a solid body. The heavy molten iron

Ultraviolet light would have easily reached the Earths surface due to having no ozone layer
existing. At this stage this would have allowed organic molecules to form in the lower atmosphere
or the Earths surface. The stages of the Earths development consisted of:
Dense clouds of water formed in the atmosphere, which reflects the sun s heat
Earth cooled sufficiently to allow for the formation of a rocky crust.
Volcanic gas eruptions increased the air pressure, forming clouds which allowed for the water
vapour to condense and fall as rain.
Water would have absorbed a lot of the carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere due to solubility.
The cooling process by the rain continued until the Earth was cool enough to allow for the
formation of rivers and oceans.
Heat was dissipated into space, causing a more solid crust to form
From then on, the process of reducing the amount of carbon dioxide was occurring ie transferring it
into rocks like limestone.
The conditions on early Earth consisted of large amounts of volcanic activity; heat, ash, dust and
gases in the atmosphere, anoxic, massive oceans existed but only small land masses above the
water surface, no ozone layer and violent electrical storms were common. There is evidence shown
that the Earth contained inorganic molecules during this time. As a result

Small Vs. Large Organic Farming
Small vs. Large
The general public sees any type of organic food as being produced straight out of a backyard
garden or right off of the family farm . But is it really freshly picked tomatoes right out of
Grandma Mae s garden or chicken breast from a local farm? If the food purchased is from
Whole Foods or the organic section at Walmart, then that probably is not the case. Large organic
farms are what usually supply Whole Foods and other larger chain stores that have organics. They
are not what people initially think of when imagining the typical organic farm. They usually think
of a small plot of land with an old farmhouse, chicken coops, a red barn, and a large pasture of
grass. Even though there are still organic farms like that, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Although the smaller farms do not need the expensive and large equipment, they have to pay
farmhands to take care of everything by hand. Farm hands, on average, make about eleven
dollars per hour. For three farm hands that work approximately an eight hour day, cost the farm
two hundred and sixty four dollars a day (Farm Hand). To power harvesting machinery for about
an eight hour day, would cost two hundred and eight dollars a day just for diesel costs (Edwards).
So, the price to run per day for both large and small organic farms does not have a dramatic
difference.
Another quite large expense is that of transportation. Products from large farms typically supply
large markets and are usually not at small farmers markets. In order for the food to be transported
from the farm to the supermarket, they have to use fuel. Not only is this costing them much more,
but it is also affecting the environment. On the contrary, small farms typically sell their produce at
farmers markets or at their farm itself. This is not only conserving them money, but it is also
conserving fossil fuels.
Another economic factor in organic farming, in general, is that organic food is typically more
expensive that its non organic counterpart. This observation goes along with both large and small
organic farms. When people go shopping, they often look for the cheapest item. Since

Persuasive Essay On Winning The Lottery
Is winning a fortune really worth the possibility of losing everything? There are many different
forms of the lottery with prizes ranging from a couple of dollars to millions of dollars. Most
people though are more interested in the big prize worth millions, believing that if they were to
win they would be set for life. While winning the lotterycan improve someone s life it can just as
equally ruin their life. After winning the lottery they need to be smart with their money. Within the
first five years of winning the lottery around 70% of the winners will file for bankruptcy,
according to the National Endowment for Financial Education. When people strike it rich they
believe that they have all the money in the world and begin to spend or give away money without a

newfound social class. Kevin Myeroff, a certified financial plannerand CEO of NCA Financial in
Mayfield Heights, says that winners spend too much on depreciating assets such as cars,
vacations and gifts. When winners begin to gain popularity it attracts the attention of people who
want to leech off the benefits of the winner. Once they begin to give away money to family and
friends it is hard for them to stop. Sandra Hayes, one of the twelve winners of the Missouri lottery

Relationship Rules And Family Rules
Relationship Rules Theory
Interpersonal relationships are an essential part of everyone s life, like many other aspects of
life. Relationships are also bound by rules in order for these to succeed. However these rules vary
depending on the type of relationship a person has. Relationship rules theory is oriented to make
several aspects of relationships more clear. These rules help identify behaviors that can be either
destructive or successful in a relationship. Additionally, Relationship Rules help to single out more
specific reasons as why relationships end and what can be a solution to repair them. There are four
different types of relationship rules and those are friendship rules, romantic rules, family rules and
workplace rules. Each of these relationship rules has different functions and these rules cannot be
broken in order for a relationship to stay healthy.
Friendship Rules Friendship is a word that envelops powerful meanings that everyone should not
take for granted. Those meanings can be trust on others, love, support, care for others,
compassion, and/or loyalty. People give those meanings different levels depending on the type of
friends they have and how worth it those friends are. It is true that friends can be considered part
of our own family and they have to be loved and respected as such. Good friends are people that
can be trustworthy and understand the meaning of the word friendship.

Leontes Irrational Judgment
Everyone on this earth shows immoral actions and shows irrational judgement from time to time.
The Winter s Tale, by William Shakespeare, shows this through Leontes. The Winter s Tale
illustrates that all of Leontes immoral decisions and irrational accusations originate from private
judgement. Shakespeare shows this by Leontes failing to see the whole and examine the past, to
trust the wisdom of authority, and to see recurring patterns and to trust the many pieces of evidence
and testimonies of witnesses that converge to verify the truth. The first point is how Leontes fails
to see the whole and examine the past. Leontes believes that his wife, Hermione, and childhood

Theodore Teddy Roosevelt (October 27, 1858 January 6, 1919) was the 26th President of the
United States. He is well remembered for his energetic personality, range of interests and
achievements, leadership of the Progressive Movement, model of masculinity, and his cowboy

Report Of A Portion Of Sorrento Lactalis, Inc. ( Lactalis )
INTRODUCTION
This memorandum presents the findings of a review of a portion of Sorrento Lactalis, Inc.
(Lactalis) s waste stream that may potentially be sent offsite for disposal during a temporary
shutdown of the cheese production facility s whey dryer. This memo is intended to identify
environmental risks associated with the hauling and disposal of sweet whey offsite.
BACKGROUND
Lactalis operates a whey dryer to manufacture dried whey protein from the by product (i.e. sweet
whey) generated from the cheese production process. Lactalis is planning to remove the whey
dryer from service for a period of up to six (6) months to accomplish repairs to the system, and is
considering disposal options for the whey during this downtime period.
Lactalis local counsel, Givens Pursley, LLP (Givens Pursley) intends to identify regulatory and
environmental risks associated with a three (3) to six (6) month shutdown of the whey dryer.
Givens Pursley will identify the regulatory risk, determine if there is a legal liability and see if
there is capacity for the whey to be absorbed by local facilities.
Forsgren Associates (Forsgren) conducted an analysis of the sweet whey to identify environmental
risks associated with a three (3) to six (6) month shutdown of the whey facility.
SWEET WHEY WASTE STREAM ANALYSIS
Whey is a by product of the cheese making process which represents 90% of the volume and 50%
of the solids of milk used in the manufacture of cheese. It is a very dilute

Literacy, Opportunity, And Economic Change
This critique will be of chapter one of the book Literacy in American Lives. The author of this
book is Dr. Deborah Brandt, a professor of English at Wisconsin Madison University and her
main focus in Literacy in American Lives is to study about how people have learned to read,
how they use their ability to read, and how literacy learning changes with time. In this first
chapter Literacy, Opportunity, and Economic Change , Brandt focuses on how economic change
can affect the value of literacy, and the impact that this change in the value of literacy has in the
lives of two farm women from Wisconsin. For the main evidence of her work in chapter one
Brandt goes into the personal stories of two women by which she has given the names Martha
Day and Barbara Hunt. Martha Day grew up on a farm in a time near the 1920 s; she did well in
high schoolbut did not pursue a higher educationbecause, according to Day, they didn t push girls
like they did men back then (Brandt). She married a book keeper and became a small town
journalist when her Sunday school teacher, who also happened to be the editor of the local paper,
asked her to manage a monthly news letter about the out pouring of agricultural articles from the
local university and stations. Eventually, Day started to write her own articles and moved into the

Augustus Caesar Biography
Augustus Caesar (63 BCE 14 CE) was the name of the first and, by all accounts, greatest emperor
of Rome. Augustus was born Gaius Octavius Thurinus on September 23, 63 BCE. He was adopted
by his great uncle Julius Caesar in 44 BCE, and then took the name Gaius Julius Caesar. Originally
called Gaius Octavius, he changed his name to Gaius Julius CaesarOctavian, upon being adopted by
his great uncle. Seventeen years later, the Senate awarded him with the name Augustus, meaning
Revered One. Augustus came from a prosperous family that had long been settled at Velletri,
southeast of Rome. Augustus married three times, although his first union, to Mark Antony s
stepdaughter Clodia Pulchra, was unconsummated. His second wife, Scribonia, who had his
only child, Julia the Elder. He divorced in 39 B.C. to marry Livia Drusilla, who had two sons,
by her first husband. The family tree became more complicated after Augustus had his stepson
Tiberius briefly marry his daughter, and then adopted Tiberius outright as son and successor in
A.D. 4. Augustus Caesar died in A.D. 14, his empire secured and at peace. His reported last
words were twofold: to his subjects he said, I found Rome of clay; I leave it to you of marble,
but to the friends who had stayed with him in his rise to power he added, Have I played the part
well? Then applaud me as I exit. Soon after that acknowledgement of human frailty, the Roman
Senate officially declared their departed emperor, like Julius Caesar before

Relationship Between The Legislative Branch And The...
The conflicting power struggle and rival relationship between the legislative branch and the
executive branch is one that has always seemed anticipated. The relationship between a President
and the Legislative branch is not only essential but it is significant making it equally an extremely
delicate affair. One of the main questions that experts on the workings of congress have is whether
or not the legislative and executive branch are capable of effectively cooperating with one another
to ultimately promote and sustain the American agenda. George H.W. Bush s relationship with
congress can be seen as a dynamic one.

Bush presidency. For starters the Americans with Disability act not only provides protection for
the disabled in different sectors of their lives such as jobs, transportation and even public life but
it guaranteed equal opportunities for individual regardless of your race, sex, religion and more.
Another huge legislative accomplishment was the passage of the Clean Air Act making it one of
the initial influential laws on protecting our environment and specifically taking responsibility as a
nation for our waste and pollution. The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act which served as a
sense of accountability and ultimately aid to those exposed to ration caused by nuclear test was
also passed during his Presidency along with the Immigration Act that led to a 40 percent increase
in legal immigration. He even fought Congress to provide a bill that would help cops apprehend
delinquents and a law that would improve the highways in the United States. On top of those major
amendments Bush pushed for an increase in several budgets such as education, childcare and the
advancement of technology and research in the field. (Sinclair 2002) While the President is
wholly allowed to suggest various legislative ideas he must successfully and carefully address
Congress and ensure he has at least some back up for his future aspirations for the country. While
he may have lost millions of supporters for some of his contradictions, experts continue to shine
light on his successful interactions with prominent world figures of major countries and his efforts
in foreign relations and policies. (Knott) n the end Bush could rightfully be credited with some of

For the next three years McCarthy worked in Appleton, Wisconsin at a private practice. At this
office, McCarthy made constant efforts to gain publicity for himself. Even though the town was
composed of a mere 3,000 people, McCarthy had more ambitions than just getting by in a one
horse town. McCarthy studied his fellow lawyers strategies in the court room and kept his office
open evenings to attract clients. (19, The Life and Times of Joe McCarthy) McCarthy was sure to
be at local events and join up with charities. McCarthy wanted attention and wanted to be noticed.
In 1936, McCarthy made his first venture into politics in a race for district attorney. He came in
second in this attempt; however, McCarthy ran for judge of the 10th circuit court in 1938. The
second time around, McCarthy threw himself into his campaign with a seemingly endless amount
of energy. In a state wide effort to boost his public appeal, McCarthy made speeches touting his
slogan Justice is Truth in Action. McCarthy won the election. However, once McCarthy attained
his position, he totally disregarded his responsibilities. He set a frantic pace that he maintained the
whole term, racing through cases and ignoring traditional procedures. Joseph was known to later
use the slogan Justice delayed is justice denied to support his fast pace. (35, The Life and Times of
Joe McCarthy) Finally, the Wisconsin Supreme Court heard about McCarthy

with diagnosis, treatment, and follow up of IC patients. With this in mind, I feel my research
can help in getting the word out there about IC/PBS, and Chronic Pelvic Pain (CPP). One of the
more interesting sources came from: The better Bladder Book What s Bugging your Bladder by
Wendy Cohan. The chapter pg 96, discusses the role of food sensitivity in IC. It argues that food
sensitivities play a huge role in causing or worsening bladder symptoms and can also contribute
to harmful inflammation throughout the body. A lot of this relates to the types of foods we eat
and how our bodies process those foods. In my own experience in trying to find the right
treatment options, diet was one of the first that I had to change. Things that are high in acid like
tomatoes could cause a painful flare up that could last from hours to days, or even months, so
eliminating this from my diet was one way to eliminate another painful flare. This book was
written with a copyright date of 2011, and since then, no changes have been made to IC Diet that
I could find in any of my sources. As part of the other side of the debate , I did look for different
opinions on opposing viewpoints but could not find any articles that disputed any of the claims that

The Issue Of Tax Reform
Background
Tax reforms have become a major topic for the 2016 presidential candidates. The US taxation
system is definitely in need of reformation and it appears that the candidate with the most robust
tax principle will ascend to the presidency. Most candidates from both political parties believe that
the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) needs to be reformed. To woe voters, some candidates such as
Carly Fiorina have even promised to condense the tax code to three pages in order to improve its
efficiency and remove the loopholes that have been used by interested parties to push for their
selfish desires. Others have proposed to oppose any tax increase with others ascertaining that taxes

Clinton, who is fighting with Bernie Sanders for the democratic ticket has often been critical of
the fiscal policy of the latter (Hendrickson, 2015, p. 3). Bernie Sanders has been reserved in his
tax plans and has instead been evasive in his pronouncements. Compared to Bernie, Clinton has
been having a more aggressive approach in discussing her tax plan for the country.
The issue of tax inversion has also attracted the attention of democrats. In her 2016 presidential
campaign, Clinton promised to impose a corporate exit tax, which is meant to penalize any
mergers existing between foreign corporations, and US that have been structured to reduce the
amount of taxes paid in the US (Veuger, 2016, p. 3). This comes in the wake of the realization
that many US corporate such as Pfizer have been merging with foreign companies to significantly
reduce their tax payment. Pfizer announced that it was planning to merge with Allergan, a firm
based in Ireland in order to reduce its tax margin by 7% (Berry, 2015, p. 6). The merger would
help the firm to save more than $ 1 billion in taxes annually. However, Clinton has insisted that she
would use the regulatory authority existing in the US department of treasury to limit the number of
corporations that adhere to tax inversion in case Congress is not decisive.

He believes that we should instead rebel against God, becoming metaphysical rebels (Camus, p.

refusal of the sacred laws that God created and substitute their own. Even if God existed, Ivan
would never surrender to Him in the face of the injustice done to man (Camus, p. 253). This is an
example of what would fuel the rebellion in order to meet its end goal. Dostoevsky has also made
the statement, I would not invent God (Dostoevsky, p. 63). The relevance of this is that he said it

Some examples are: to explain suffering in the world and to invent a source of hope while in

episode Bart meets a new kid, Bashir whose family recently moved to the United States from

of them because they are Muslim. Throughout the episode Homer tries, to prove that Bashir s

they are Muslim. Another example is when one of Homer s friend Leny tells him He s Muslim, so

The Real Protagonist: Caesar or Brutus Who is really the protagonist of the play, Caesar or
Brutus? A protagonist is the leading character, hero of a drama or other literary work who
involved in a conflict. In this case, either Brutus or Caesar will be the protagonist. Brutus is a tragic
hero who dies at the end of the play. And a tragic hero is the protagonist of a tragedy. Therefore,
Brutus is the real protagonist of Julius Caesar because he is a tragic hero; he affects the plot
through decision making; and he is the champion of the conflict between Caesar and conspirators.
The first reason for Brutus being the real protagonist is that he is a tragic hero who is the

Compare to Caesar, Brutus earns the more important influences to the play. As the leader of the

example, He decides to be a proponent who against Caesar and he decides not to kill Antony and
let Antony speech in Caesar s funeral. Brutus decisions are the key to move the play to the next
stage. Though most decisions are flaws of Brutus, these decisions are the main causes of the
plots in the play. For example, Brutus insists that their armed forces leave their hilly territory
where they have the military advantage, and lead the attack on the enemy at Phillipi on level
ground. The decision is disastrous and victory for the enemy is relatively easy (Cotham). This
decision is one of three bad decisions Brutus makes in the play and a main cause of Brutus death.

Fourth Amendment 4th Amendment
The 4th amendment, search and seizure causes a lot of problems. Search and Seizure is the rights

Although commonly referred to as the automobile exception, this rule applies to any vehicle,
including boats. While in some ways, it is quite a broad exception, this rule limits the ability to
search those areas that might contain evidence of the type suspected to be present. In other
words, if police suspect that the occupant of a boat is smuggling people across the border,
searching a small tackle box on board would not be permissible. However, if they were looking
for drugs, they could search the tackle box. The rationale is that, if an officer has to take the
time to obtain a warrant, the vehicle might be out of reach before the warrant can be issued and
executed. The rationale here is similar to the automobile exception. Evidence that can be easily
moved, destroyed or otherwise made to disappear before a warrant can be issued may be seized
without a warrant. Furthermore, if a suspect enters private property while being pursued by
officers, no warrant is required to enter that property in order to continue pursuit, even if the
suspect is in no way connected with the property owner. No warrant is required to seize
evidence in plain view if the police are legitimately in the location from which the evidence can
be viewed. For example, an officer cannot illegally enter a suspect s backyard and then use the
plain view exception to seize an illegally kept alligator living in the pool. But, if on the premises

Air Campaign Waged by Germany in The Battle of Britain Essay
The Battle of Britain is the name given to the World War II air campaign waged by the German
Air Force against the United Kingdom during the summer and autumn of 1940. The Luftwaffe or
German Air Force was trying to pave the way for a sea and airborne invasion of Britain as an
extension of Hitler s Blitzkrieg campaign in Western Europe. The Battle of Britainis significant
because it was the only battle throughout World War II which was fought only in the air. The Battle
of Britain also marked the turning point in the war. The Luftwaffewas overconfident in their ability
to gain complete air superiority over the British Channel and the invasion area. The Luftwaffe
intended to prevent both the RAF from striking against their attack but... Show more content on

The Germans would make small advancements throughout the length of the battle, but they could
never make a large enough dent in the RAF to change the outcome of the battle. Britain had its
hand in every major component of the battle which what caused them to win the Battle of Britain
and defeat the Germans in the first major campaign fought entirely by air forces. The courageous
pilots of the RAF were the heroes that helped safeguard Britain which gave way to Churchill s
speech about the few men who risked their lives for so many others. The popular saying is,
Never...was so much owed by so many to so few.
Leadership
Goering and Hitler The commander in chief Reichsmarschall Hermann W. Goering was an
unstable leader for the Luftwaffe. Although Goering was a pilot in WWI he had not kept up
with the changes in air power since his time in WWI and had little knowledge of strategy.
Goering was prone to make impulsive and erratic decisions which made it difficult for the
Luftwaffe to get a jump on the RAF. Because of Goering s erratic decision making, Hitler would
intervene when he thought necessary which would make the results even worse. Hitler had no
clue about aerial strategies or tactics which Churchill picked up on and realized that it would give
the RAF a great advantage. Goering and Hitler were never on the same page with one another and
Goering would only tell Hitler what he wanted to hear. As Hitler was preparing to move along with

Michelle Dbq Essay
It is understood that among different mediums of art the narrative voices of male characters
generally express and enthusiastic response over new affectionate emotions towards another female
character. The song Michelle was recorded in November of 1965 and released to the public the
following month written and performed by John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney, once performed
by Sir Paul McCartney at the White House for the entertainment of President Barack Obama and
first lady Michelle Obama. The song describes the story of a man who loves a woman named
Michelle, but tragically cannot fully express his love, as it suggests that the woman does not speak
English, so the narrator learns several words of her language to attempt to communicate his... Show

Considering both instances in the two sources, the commentary they make of the male s initial
emotional response to romantic emotion evoked by a strong attraction to a female suggests a
largely verbal and dramaticized response, often toward appearance first. In the song Michelle,
the narrator relies only verbal expression. He sings, Sont les mots qui vont trГЁs bien ensemble...
I will say the only words I know that you ll understand (Doc. 1). This shows that the narrator
makes extra effort to verbally communicate with the woman, suggesting he does this because he
feels he must, as he sees no other ways of communication. Romeo, in Shakespeare s The Tragedy
of Romeo and Juliet, is dramatic in his portrayal of Juliet. He declares, O, she doth teaches the
torches to burn bright! (Romeo and Juliet. 1.5.44). This demonstrates his dramaticity through the
use of metaphor, as Juliet does not teach torches to emit light, but rather she appears to emit more
light than a torch in Romeo s perspective, which is an overstatement in this case. Romeo also
makes much commentary on Juliet s appearance. He exclaims, Beauty too rich for use, for earth
too dear!

Educational Goals Research Paper
My educational goals are to use my time wisely, earn more scholarships, be part of student
government, and continue being the best that I can be. I want to maintain a 3.6 GPA or higher.
I want to prove to myself that education is important and that I know I can do it. Not only doing
work, but I am going to read more books and possibly stay away from the media because it is
nothing but a waste of time and I need to focus on my studies more. After all the time I have
wasted, I actually regret the time I could have been used for studying. In addition to my short
term goals, I will build up my study skills so that way I can do well on standardized exams such
as entrance to colleges for the California State Universities. Even though I have failed on my SAT

Surprised By Hope Analysis
In the book Surprised by Hope by N. T. Wright, he discusses salvation, the new creation, what our
bodies will be like after Christ returns. Will the heavens come down to earth or will humans go up
to heaven? These are all points that Christians need to ask themselves and begin to think about. He
lays these topics out in clear, concise ways so the reader can comprehend what his points are. All
throughout his book, the theme of a new heavenand new earth are constantly being thrown around.
Wright uses Philippians 3:20 that says, But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a
Savior from there, the Lord JesusChrist to back up his claim that ... (he) will come from heaven to
earth, to change the present situation and state of his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Wright, they will be immortal. He puts it like this, In particular, this new body will
be immortal. That is, it will have passed beyond death not just in the temporal sense but also the
ontological sense of no longer being subject to sickness, injury, decay, and death itself (160) This
means that we are going to have stronger, healthier, more perfect bodies that God will give us as
a gift of love. We may not even look the same, something will be different about our bodies. In
fact, when Jesus was resurrected from the dead the disciples did not recognize him. This was a
man whom they had worked for years with and for, yet they did not recognize him in the new
body. Wright claims that this immorality is different than the common idea of immorality. He
says that people believe immorality has to do with souls, not bodies. After I read this, I
immediately disagreed with that, because I have only thought of immorality of souls living
forever, not bodies. After I had thought over this statement a bit more, I found myself agreeing
with it. In fact, 2 Corinthians 5:4 says, While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh,
but it s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put
on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. I knew that verse, yet
I still never made the connections in my head. While our earthly bodies do not go up to heaven,
I believe our souls do until the Lord returns and then we will be raised with our new bodies. If we
die before the Lord returns, then we will be with the Lord in heaven, yet not complete until he
returns to the earth. One thing that Wright says that I do not agree with is, ...immortality is
something that only God possesses by nature and that then he shares, as a gift of grace rather than
an innate possession, with his people (161). I believe that everyone will live forever,

Growing up, she was an only child and found brothers and sisters in the books that she read. As

Publishing Metadata Facilitates Data Sharing
2.7.4 Spatial Metadata Publication
Publishing metadata facilitates data sharing. Sharing data between organisations stimulates
cooperation and a coordinated, integrated approach to spatially related policy issues (Land
Information Council of Jamaica 2008).
Metadata records are usually published through catalogue systems, sometimes called directories or
registries (Nogueras Iso et al. 2005). Also, Catalogue Services for the Web (CSW) open standard by
the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) supports the ability to publish and search collections of
metadata for data, services, and related information objects.
Spatial Metadata Discovery
Because of spatial metadata s small size compared to the data it describes, metadata is more
easily shareable (ESRI 2002b) and is considered as the surrogate of spatial datasets which is
referenced to its related spatial dataset. Hence, in a networked environment, such spatial surrogates
are discovered by the end users seeking required spatial datasets, through catalogue systems, Web
services and user interfaces. The user interface usually supports making a variety of queries (via
basic and advanced search) on spatial metadata records to retrieve the characteristics of the most
appropriate datasets for the end users..
Once the results of metadata discovery are presented to the end users, the metadata records need
to be retrieved and accessed by them. The next section gives a brief overview of the retrieval and
access step of the

Example Of Piracy Research Paper
Pirates are criminals who steal vessels, people and goods on the sea and coastal areas. Privateers
were privately owned ships that captured sea trade under orders from various governments.
Buccaneers were government sponsored pirate crews who attacked Spanish ships in the Caribbean
during the 17th century. Terms privateers and buccaneers are today both synonyms for piracy. The
earliest example of piracy is recorded in 14th century BC Mediterranean.
First, a pirate attack that significantly endangered any country was pirate attacks on Olympos in
3rd century BC. Earliest pirates came from first nations who used the ocean for commerce
Illyrians, Tyrrhenians, Greeks, and Romans. A pirate who served as the largest motivation for
generations of other pirates after him was Henry Every, English pirate who managed not only to
capture largest pirate loot of all time, but he managed to remain free until his death. The most usual

Occurrences of buried pirate treasure were greatly popularized by novelists, but in reality, only
two such events were ever verified, one by English captain Francis Drake, who buried cargo of
Silver, and pirate William Kidd who buried his treasure before he knew he would be arrested. He
was sentenced to death, and treasure was never found. In the history of piracy, there were not many
women. But several managed to rise to prominence, most notably Anne Bonny and Mary Read,
who served together on a pirate ship. Anne Bonny was in the relationship with pirate Captain
Calico Jack Rackham, who was caught and hanged in 1720. Mary Read died in prison from fever,
but final fate of Anne Bonny is not known.

included sailing, sailing, and more sailing. They only rarely stummbled upon another vessal to

Abstract In the following paper we are going to discuss the different coding techniques such as
Orthogonal STBC , Alamouti s coding and their performance on a QPSK signal with Rayleigh
fading. We will plot it for SNR values ranging from 0dB to 40 dB. In this we will be taking
different combination for number of transmitting and the radiating antenna used.

A. ALAMOUTI S CODING (M=N=2)
Alamouti s coding includes 2 transmitting and 2 receiving antennas. The h matrix for this type
would be 2x2 matrix. The transmission rate is also optimized to the full capacity as it transmits 2
signals in 2 time slots. The full data rate can be achieved in this coding technique.

This sort of code is otherwise called 4 recieving wire alamouti s code. Tarokh et al. found a set of
STBC s that are especially clear, and termed the plan s name as Orthogonal STBC. They likewise
demonstrated that it was impractical to accomplish full rate code, if there were more than 2
transmit antennas utilized as a part of the correspondence.

The Struggle For Women s Rights
Women Suffrage Throughout history, battles and wars have been fought to gain some type of
rights or freedoms. In 1775, the American Revolutionary War was fought for independence; In
1865, the American Civil War was fought to end slavery. Although no wars were fought, many
battles were waged for women s rights. The struggle for women s rights begin in the mid late
1800s at a time when women were not allowed to vote or own property. Women, as with African
Americans, during this period were not recognized as having any legal and political rights as
men and whites, respectively. This attitude towards women, at the time, was ascribed to the
gender rules in the 1700s where men thought of women as fragile creatures always in need of
male protection and always denied access to the public sphere. (Lecture 2, 6:19). If women wanted
to gain their individualism, rights, and freedoms they were entitle to; they would have to unite and
create opportunities to do so. The inequalities women faced was the foundation of the Women s
Suffrage Movement and many other organizations in support of women. For decades, after
America gained its independence, women rights have been put aside. It has been too long that the
voices of women across this nation have been silenced. America was changing and women had the
right to be part of the process. The time was right for women to rise up and demand equal rights
and justice. As Citizens, women should be given the right to vote, own property, and

Schedule Reflection
On 9/22/2016 I came down to Mrs. Gauthier s office to attempt to change my schedule as I
believe losing 5 weeks of work in a core and elective is uncalled for, in addition some of my
classmates were able to revert their schedule changes. Now I made it clear to her that the point
of my schedule change was not due to me wanting a specific period to talk to friends, but instead
to have the same teacher to minimize the loss of work I would have, as losing over a month of
work out of the quarter is extremely hard to recover from. Throughout talking to her I stated how
I talked to my teachers to see if they had any open classes I can transfer into, my chemistry teacher
stated yes as well as my English teacher who I was switched out of. Now from my research, the
state mandate states that there is a 25 studentlimit only for core classes, so I was also wondering
why I was switched out of an elective. Furthermore, as we went on through the conversation
when I told her that my friends were able to switch their classes she replied to go talk to her
counselor instead of me. As well as calling me difficult although other people had the ability to
talk to their counselors, and at the end of our talk she raised her voice stating that even if she

Characteristics And Restrictions Of Valued Activities...
This study evaluated napping characteristics and restrictions in valued activities participation
among community dwelling older adults. In unadjusted models, we found an association between
both intentional and unintentional napping and increased odds of restrictions in at least one valued
activity, in comparison to rarely or never napping. While this association held after adjustment for
demographic and health characteristics, there was no association between napping intention and
restrictions in valued activities after further adjustment for depressive and anxiety symptoms when
compared to rarely or never nappers. Among nappers, average nap duration and frequent napping
were associated with restrictions in at least one valued activity, while napping intention was not.
Moreover, when comparing individual activities among nappers, the strongest association was
between napping characteristics (i.e. frequency, nap duration) and restrictions in going out for
enjoyment followed by visiting with friends and family. Altogether, these results indicate an
independent association between frequent, longer naps and restrictions in daytime functioning
among community dwelling older adults, especially among those who nap. Napping may be sign
of daytime sleepiness which may lead to restrictions in valued activities. Our findings are similar
to those of studies on excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) that have utilized self reported napping
as a marker for EDS. One community based study

  • 2. Data Warehousing And Mobile Computing I. Abstract Data warehousing and mobile computing are the way of the future, yet the literature on the topic is somewhat scarce at present. This literature review focuses on the interaction of data mining, data warehousing, mobile computing and security under the following guiding research question: How can the mobile application of data mining and data warehousing retain a high level of security? While cloud computing is a problematic and groundbreaking, it is useful way to engage in data mining and warehousing in the mobile computing context. This literature review also focuses on the ethical use of data mining, policy recommendations and adoption of security protocols, and future research suggestions. II. Introduction Cloud computing ... • 4. Martin Luther King J. And Malcolm X Essay The 1950 s and 1960 s was an era of major conflict between African Americans and whites in the United States which led to discrimination and disorder in the states. African Americans were fortunate to have outstanding leaders who fought for a difference and change during the Civil Rights movement. Both Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X were two powerful individuals who gave hope to African Americans and oppressed people in the United States. They are both well known individuals for their Civil Rights protesting. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X both spread the message about African Americans having power and strength in the center of all the hatred and discrimination around them. Although both leaders had the same dream and goal of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of Martin Luther King Jr. s greatest civil right acts accomplishment was the march on Washington on August 28, 1963 where more than 20,000 people came to march from Washington to the Lincoln memorial in Washington D.C. In the March for Jobs and Freedom in Washington D.C. 1963 King gave his famous I Have a Dream speech that spoke of his hope for equality for all Americans. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted all the races to come together for the hatred, discrimination, and violence to be put to an end. Beyond the 1963 March on Washington, King and his followers used a variety of nonviolent tactics to achieve equality through grassroots activism, including the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955, the student sin ins of 1960, the Freedom Rides of 1961, the 1963 demonstrations in Birmingham, and the Selma March of 1965. These provided King with the opportunity to demonstrate the power of nonviolence in destroyed legal segregation in American life (Cone 176). The 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Bill showed the success of King s nonviolent approach. Even though Martin Luther King, Jr. worked with white leaders to try and achieve civil rights for African Americans, he knew that the African Americancommunity was getting frustrated with the way things were going. Dr. King knew that violence was a threat if change didn t happen quickly during the Civil Rights Movement. He told President Kennedy: if something isn t done to give the ... • 5. Being An Alcoholic This time they decided to send me out of town to a program in Arizona. I arrived there on a Friday, however, the program wasn t to commence until that Monday. There was no way I was going to check in and be on lockdown, knowing that I still had a weekend to play with. I checked into a hotel and prepared myself for, what I thought would turn out, a great time. I learned that things don t always turn out as planned. I hit the town running at full speed seeking the first bar I could locate to get things kicked off. Before I knew it, I had gone from one bar to another, even catching taxis to get to and from them. When I made it back to the hotelroom, I was pretty loaded and should have called it quits. But there s another thing I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But the party didn t end there. Later that Saturday afternoon, I was released on my own reconnaissance and I headed back to the room. I still had a full day to enjoy prior to checking in on that Monday and I had no plans on allowing it to go to waste. I had my wallet with my debit card in it and conveniently enough, there was an ATM machine in the lobby of the hotel. I withdrew additional funds from my bank account and once again I was out and about in pursuit of some to drink. I tried to convince myself to be more careful the second time around because I didn t want to repeat what I had just experienced the night before. Early on, everything was going as planned. I was drinking, feeling good and was still partially coherent. I was feeling well enough to call it quits, but the night still seemed young and I thought I d challenge a few more shots prior to retiring for that evening. I believe I can vaguely remember having one more drink before everything went pitch black again. By the time the lights came back on, once again, there I was on the county s floor as a repeat offender of public intoxication. There was, however, something different about this time. Before I was released that Sunday, one of the deputies pulled me to the side for a quick chat. He told me that I was found in a dark space behind an abandoned building with my shirt open and my pockets turned inside out missing all of its contents. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. President Vs. British Prime Minister In times of peace and in times of peril, great leaders experience the highs and lows of their office, and are eternally judged through the microscope of history. Although both icons play a similar role in the executive leadership in government of their country, there are several differences which separate the President of the United Statesand the British Prime Minister. The President is directly elected by the people every four years through the electoral college. The candidate that acquires the greatest amount of votes claims the presidency and is allowed to serve up to two, four year terms. Unlike the President, the Prime Minister is elected by the majority party to which he/she belongs and is officially appointed by the Monarch. A Prime Minister is elected every five years, but there is no limit to how many terms they are able to lead their respective party and lead their nation in their role as Prime Minister. Another difference between the United States President and British Prime Minister is that the President derives his powers from the Constitution of the United States of America, while the Prime Minister derives his powers from constitutional conventions. This means that even though the United Kingdom does not have a single, written constitution, there is a collection of rules that have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Buffy The Vampire Slayer Research Paper Many TV shows have made positive difference in my life. Each show has taught me something, regardless of how pointless or unrealistic the show may seem. One show that I have been I an avid fan of since grade school is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Throughout the series Buffy really discovers who she is. She starts the series as a high school girl who wants absolutely nothing to do with being a vampire slayer, but by the end of the series she trains potential slayers and leads the fight The First. Buffy showed me that you can start off knowing nothing and being an outcast, and still become the greatest at what you do. The message is that you can be a high school girl, but can make an impact on the world. This is reinforced by when in the series finale the power to be a slayer is unleashed to every potential slayer in the world. The spin off of Buffy the Vampire Slayeris Angel, a show about Buffy s love interest Angel, who is a vampire with a soul. Before Angel was cursed with a soul he killed many people, but when he got a soul he felt very remorseful and wanted to help people.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout most of the series it would seem that there is no message to the show, other than attempting to figure out many of the conspiracy theories that circle around the show, such as did Dale know about John Redcorn being Joseph s father (he did) or who was really Bobby s father (it was Bill). To me the message of the show is almost entirely contained in the last episode of the series: that no matter how weird or different you may be you can be successful when you find your place to succeed. Throughout the series Bobby is a weird kid who is a lot different from his family, especially his dad, Hank. During the last episode Bobby connects to Hank through grilling, and it also reveals things about the other characters, such as that Boomhauer was a police officer, not just a strange neighbor. The episode showed that every person has a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Influenza Virus Essay There are different ways a molecule can be endocytosed into cell. Rust and colleagues focused on two different mechanisms: clathrin mediated endocytosis and clathrin and caveolin independent endocytosis. Using real time visualization of the influenza virus, Rust and colleagues were able to observe these two pathways in action. They hypothesized that without inhibiting endogenous endocytic mechanisms of the cell, the influenza virus would use both types of pathways to enter a cell. Multiple assays were performed in this article. Firstly, the authors fluorescently labeled clathrin with EYFP and transfected their construct into their cells, creating a stable cell line. Figure 1 exists to demonstrate the efficacy of their fluorescently tagged clathrin construct. They first produced an immunofluorescent image ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The de novo formation of CCPs induced by viral binding suggests a manipulation of the clathrin signaling pathway. Since clathrin recruitment is initiated by AP2 after AP2 detects PI(4,5)P and cargo, the virus could be interacting with any one of these three elements in clathrin induced endocytosis. However, as the authors point out, influenza binds to sialic acids on the cell surface and not normal cargo receptors that interact with AP2. So how, then, would AP2 be coerced into recognizing the virus as cargo on the cell membrane and hence recruit clathrin? They suggest there is an induction of curvature on the membrane perhaps involving amphiphysin. A logical next step would be to mutate amphiphysin and/or other similar BAR domains, infect cells with a tagged influenza virus and transfected fluorescent clathrin, and determine whether or not de novo CCPs can be formed. Comparing this assay to a control using wild type amphiphysin, one could draw a conclusion as to the extent of influence BAR domains have on viral entry and clathrin ... Student ID: 10077161 Designing primers and optimisation of a Real Time PCR assay Introduction This essay based on the principle of real time PCR which uses CYBR green dye that combines to any double stand DNA. This process included two maim steps. The first step was designing of HSV 1 primer and /or HSV 2 primer (we have chosen only HSV 1). BioEdit software has been used to edit the nuclide sequences where necessary. After that the primer has been ordered. The second step was in the laboratory which included applying the HSV 1 primers to real time PCR protocol. The final results of this protocols aim to demonstrate the quality of HSV 1 primer that we have designed by interpretation three criteria. These are specificity, efficiency and... • 10. A Critical Discourse Analysis Framework Essay Methodology A critical discourse analysis framework News is manufactured industrially and deeply influenced by the bureaucratic and economic structure of the media industry, by relations between the media and other industries, and by relations with authoritative apparatuses and institutions such as government. It reflects the prevailing values of a society in a particular historical context and simultaneously shapes the society in return (Fowler, 1991/2013). Although we cannot simply suggest an explicit causal relation between structurally determined material and symbolic resources and the actual cultural practices, a pure linguistic analysis may still overlook the external constraints and the effects of the cultural practices. The embryo of cultural studies finds its roots in the historical context of a social structure shaped by industrial capitalism and the increasingly commercialized system of cultural production, distribution, and consumption. To some extent, the reference to power and struggle, domination and subordinations is the mantra to sustain and legitimatize the existing cultural studies literature (N. Graham, 1999). While avoiding the notion that Marxism and cultural studies form immediate affinity, cultural studies still has to establish itself as a worldly vocation by coping with the tension between the study of the text and its affiliations with institutions, classes, nations, races, and genders, and etc. (Hall, 1999a). The representation of the Hong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The variables need to replicate the development of life on earth are the relationships between the conditions on early earth and the origin of organic molecules, the changes in technology that have assisted in the development of an increasing understanding of the origin of life and evolution of living things, the major stages in the evolution of living things, and the palaeontological and geological evidence that suggests when life originated on earth. The Earth s age is approximately 4.6 billion years old. The Hadean Eon was the formation of the Earth. The Earth was transformed from a gaseous cloud into a solid body. At this stage this would have allowed organic molecules to form in the lower atmosphere or the Earths surface. The stages of the Earths development consisted of: Dense clouds of water formed in the atmosphere, which reflects the sun s heat Earth cooled sufficiently to allow for the formation of a rocky crust. Volcanic gas eruptions increased the air pressure, forming clouds which allowed for the water vapour to condense and fall as rain. Water would have absorbed a lot of the carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere due to solubility. The cooling process by the rain continued until the Earth was cool enough to allow for the formation of rivers and oceans. Heat was dissipated into space, causing a more solid crust to form From then on, the process of reducing the amount of carbon dioxide was occurring ie transferring it into rocks like limestone. The conditions on early Earth consisted of large amounts of volcanic activity; heat, ash, dust and gases in the atmosphere, anoxic, massive oceans existed but only small land masses above the water surface, no ozone layer and violent electrical storms were common. There is evidence shown that the Earth contained inorganic molecules during this time. As a result ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Small Vs. Large Organic Farming Small vs. Large The general public sees any type of organic food as being produced straight out of a backyard garden or right off of the family farm . But is it really freshly picked tomatoes right out of Grandma Mae s garden or chicken breast from a local farm? If the food purchased is from Whole Foods or the organic section at Walmart, then that probably is not the case. Large organic farms are what usually supply Whole Foods and other larger chain stores that have organics. They are not what people initially think of when imagining the typical organic farm. They usually think of a small plot of land with an old farmhouse, chicken coops, a red barn, and a large pasture of grass. Even though there are still organic farms like that, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the smaller farms do not need the expensive and large equipment, they have to pay farmhands to take care of everything by hand. Farm hands, on average, make about eleven dollars per hour. For three farm hands that work approximately an eight hour day, cost the farm two hundred and sixty four dollars a day (Farm Hand). To power harvesting machinery for about an eight hour day, would cost two hundred and eight dollars a day just for diesel costs (Edwards). So, the price to run per day for both large and small organic farms does not have a dramatic difference. Another quite large expense is that of transportation. Products from large farms typically supply large markets and are usually not at small farmers markets. In order for the food to be transported from the farm to the supermarket, they have to use fuel. Not only is this costing them much more, but it is also affecting the environment. On the contrary, small farms typically sell their produce at farmers markets or at their farm itself. This is not only conserving them money, but it is also conserving fossil fuels. Another economic factor in organic farming, in general, is that organic food is typically more expensive that its non organic counterpart. This observation goes along with both large and small organic farms. When people go shopping, they often look for the cheapest item. Since ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many different forms of the lottery with prizes ranging from a couple of dollars to millions of dollars. Most people though are more interested in the big prize worth millions, believing that if they were to win they would be set for life. While winning the lotterycan improve someone s life it can just as equally ruin their life. After winning the lottery they need to be smart with their money. Within the first five years of winning the lottery around 70% of the winners will file for bankruptcy, according to the National Endowment for Financial Education. When people strike it rich they believe that they have all the money in the world and begin to spend or give away money without a second thought They feel the need to have the newest and best of everything to match their newfound social class. Additionally, Relationship Rules help to single out more specific reasons as why relationships end and what can be a solution to repair them. There are four different types of relationship rules and those are friendship rules, romantic rules, family rules and workplace rules. Each of these relationship rules has different functions and these rules cannot be broken in order for a relationship to stay healthy. Friendship Rules Friendship is a word that envelops powerful meanings that everyone should not take for granted. To woe voters, some candidates such as Carly Fiorina have even promised to condense the tax code to three pages in order to improve its efficiency and remove the loopholes that have been used by interested parties to push for their selfish desires. Compared to Bernie, Clinton has been having a more aggressive approach in discussing her tax plan for the country. The issue of tax inversion has also attracted the attention of democrats. In her 2016 presidential campaign, Clinton promised to impose a corporate exit tax, which is meant to penalize any mergers existing between foreign corporations, and US that have been structured to reduce the amount of taxes paid in the US (Veuger, 2016, p. 3). This comes in the wake of the realization that many US corporate such as Pfizer have been merging with foreign companies to significantly reduce their tax payment. Pfizer announced that it was planning to merge with Allergan, a firm based in Ireland in order to reduce its tax margin by 7% (Berry, 2015, p. 6). The merger would help the firm to save more than $ 1 billion in taxes annually. While in some ways, it is quite a broad exception, this rule limits the ability to search those areas that might contain evidence of the type suspected to be present. In other words, if police suspect that the occupant of a boat is smuggling people across the border, searching a small tackle box on board would not be permissible. However, if they were looking for drugs, they could search the tackle box. The rationale is that, if an officer has to take the time to obtain a warrant, the vehicle might be out of reach before the warrant can be issued and executed. The rationale here is similar to the automobile exception. Evidence that can be easily moved, destroyed or otherwise made to disappear before a warrant can be issued may be seized without a warrant. Furthermore, if a suspect enters private property while being pursued by officers, no warrant is required to enter that property in order to continue pursuit, even if the suspect is in no way connected with the property owner. No warrant is required to seize evidence in plain view if the police are legitimately in the location from which the evidence can be viewed. Will the heavens come down to earth or will humans go up to heaven? These are all points that Christians need to ask themselves and begin to think about. He lays these topics out in clear, concise ways so the reader can comprehend what his points are. All throughout his book, the theme of a new heavenand new earth are constantly being thrown around. He puts it like this, In particular, this new body will be immortal. That is, it will have passed beyond death not just in the temporal sense but also the ontological sense of no longer being subject to sickness, injury, decay, and death itself (160) This means that we are going to have stronger, healthier, more perfect bodies that God will give us as a gift of love. We may not even look the same, something will be different about our bodies. In fact, when Jesus was resurrected from the dead the disciples did not recognize him. This was a man whom they had worked for years with and for, yet they did not recognize him in the new body. Wright claims that this immorality is different than the common idea of immorality. He says that people believe immorality has to do with souls, not bodies. After I read this, I immediately disagreed with that, because I have only thought of immorality of souls living forever, not bodies. After I had thought over this statement a bit more, I found myself agreeing with it. In fact, 2 Corinthians 5:4 says, While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. I knew that verse, yet I still never made the connections in my head. While our earthly bodies do not go up to heaven, I believe our souls do until the Lord returns and then we will be raised with our new bodies. If we die before the Lord returns, then we will be with the Lord in heaven, yet not complete until he returns to the earth. • 45. Publishing Metadata Facilitates Data Sharing 2.7.4 Spatial Metadata Publication Publishing metadata facilitates data sharing. Sharing data between organisations stimulates cooperation and a coordinated, integrated approach to spatially related policy issues (Land Information Council of Jamaica 2008). Metadata records are usually published through catalogue systems, sometimes called directories or registries (Nogueras Iso et al. 2005). Also, Catalogue Services for the Web (CSW) open standard by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) supports the ability to publish and search collections of metadata for data, services, and related information objects. Spatial Metadata Discovery Because of spatial metadata s small size compared to the data it describes, metadata is more easily shareable (ESRI 2002b) and is considered as the surrogate of spatial datasets which is referenced to its related spatial dataset. Hence, in a networked environment, such spatial surrogates are discovered by the end users seeking required spatial datasets, through catalogue systems, Web services and user interfaces. The user interface usually supports making a variety of queries (via basic and advanced search) on spatial metadata records to retrieve the characteristics of the most appropriate datasets for the end users.. Once the results of metadata discovery are presented to the end users, the metadata records need to be retrieved and accessed by them. Women, as with African Americans, during this period were not recognized as having any legal and political rights as men and whites, respectively. This attitude towards women, at the time, was ascribed to the gender rules in the 1700s where men thought of women as fragile creatures always in need of male protection and always denied access to the public sphere. (Lecture 2, 6:19). If women wanted to gain their individualism, rights, and freedoms they were entitle to; they would have to unite and create opportunities to do so. The inequalities women faced was the foundation of the Women s Suffrage Movement and many other organizations in support of women. For decades, after America gained its independence, women rights have been put aside. It has been too long that the voices of women across this nation have been silenced. America was changing and women had the right to be part of the process. The time was right for women to rise up and demand equal rights and justice. • 51. Schedule Reflection On 9/22/2016 I came down to Mrs. Gauthier s office to attempt to change my schedule as I believe losing 5 weeks of work in a core and elective is uncalled for, in addition some of my classmates were able to revert their schedule changes. Now I made it clear to her that the point of my schedule change was not due to me wanting a specific period to talk to friends, but instead to have the same teacher to minimize the loss of work I would have, as losing over a month of work out of the quarter is extremely hard to recover from. Throughout talking to her I stated how I talked to my teachers to see if they had any open classes I can transfer into, my chemistry teacher stated yes as well as my English teacher who I was switched out of. Now from my research, the state mandate states that there is a 25 studentlimit only for core classes, so I was also wondering why I was switched out of an elective. Furthermore, as we went on through the conversation when I told her that my friends were able to switch their classes she replied to go talk to her counselor instead of me. As well as calling me difficult although other people had the ability to talk to their counselors, and at the end of our talk she raised her voice stating that even if she could she won t in contrary to how she said I can t in the beginning of our talk.... • 52. Characteristics And Restrictions Of Valued Activities... This study evaluated napping characteristics and restrictions in valued activities participation among community dwelling older adults. In unadjusted models, we found an association between both intentional and unintentional napping and increased odds of restrictions in at least one valued activity, in comparison to rarely or never napping. While this association held after adjustment for demographic and health characteristics, there was no association between napping intention and restrictions in valued activities after further adjustment for depressive and anxiety symptoms when compared to rarely or never nappers. Among nappers, average nap duration and frequent napping were associated with restrictions in at least one valued activity, while napping intention was not. Moreover, when comparing individual activities among nappers, the strongest association was between napping characteristics (i.e. frequency, nap duration) and restrictions in going out for enjoyment followed by visiting with friends and family. Altogether, these results indicate an independent association between frequent, longer naps and restrictions in daytime functioning among community dwelling older adults, especially among those who nap. Napping may be sign of daytime sleepiness which may lead to restrictions in valued activities. Our findings are similar to those of studies on excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) that have utilized self reported napping as a marker for EDS. One community based study ...
