Tj Maxx s Roots Come From The Tjx Companies
The product to be introduced is the clothing and accessory retailer TJ MAXX, into
Guatemala. TJ MAXX s roots come from the TJX Companies Incorporated. TJX
Incorporated traces back to 1919. The founding brothers Max and Morris Feldberg
started their business with a New England Trading Company in Boston,
Massachusetts. A few years later, in 1929, they decided to go into the discounted
department store business and founded Zayre. After being successful in the
department store business, they decided to expand and then after being extremely
successful in the 70 s they decided to go for something bigger. This next step came
during 1976 when Bernard Cammarata, a young Merchandise Manager, was offered
to launch an off price chain project. Under him, TJ MAXX was born in the United
States. TJ MAXX became one of the most successful off price chain stores in the
United States and around the world. Today, TJX CompaniesInc. is still the parent
company for TJ MAXX, also owning Homegoods, and Marshalls among others.
According to TJX.com, the first two TJ MAXX stores were an instant success,
located in Auburn and Worcester, Massachusetts. A few years passed and the
company expanded all over the United States and eventually in the 90 s they
expanded into Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland. With variations in the name
such as T.K. MAXX or WINNERS but with the same concept. Continuing with the
expansion, T.K. MAXX went to Germany and Poland in the 2000 s. The company

Insanity In Shutter Island, Split, The Secret Window And...
Insanity the causes, the effects, the treatments is often the subject of films and
novels. There are many famous examples of films and novels that engage with
insanity as a theme. Directors and novelists have often sought to portray the
experience to their audiences. In my texts, Shutter Island, Split, The Secret Window
and Identity the directors have given contrasting representations of insanity, its
cures and its symbolic significance. The director has also given similar
representation of its causes and the symptoms. The films in my study suggest that
trauma and guilt are often the triggers for mental illness and insanity. The main
characters are witnesses to horrific events and it seems that the trauma and guilt
upsets their mental equilibrium/stability. We see this in Shutter Island, as we
eventually learn that Andrew Laeddis killed his wife, this is because his wife
murdered their three children in cold blood as she was mentally unstable. Dolores
had told Andrew that she had an insect living inside her brain, she could feel it
clicking across her skull, just pulling the wires, just for fun . But Andrew too
obsessed with work and his alcoholism is blinded to Dolores own mental breakdown
which made him feel guilty that he wasn t there to help her when he should have. He
also mentions to Dr Sheehan that he feels guilty due to his involvement in the
liberation of Dachau, as he had deliberately let the camp commander suffer a slow
and painful death. He later on

Its there since the crusades but after 9/11 this stereotyping has increased. These
stereotypes and misconceptions about Islam are due to the media, prejudice, and
ignorance. Islam is considered as an extremist or terrorist religion. The reports against
Islam are due to ignorance and lack of knowledge. In contrast to what the media
portrays, Islam is a peaceful religion, which does not promote violence or terrorism.

Reflecting back to the ABC framework created by Ellis, it helps to facilitate therapy
due to it s non complex and memorable way for clients to understand the antecedents
to their emotions and behaviors. Most importantly it enables clients to realize that it
is not outside events that are causing their dysfunctional reactions but rather their
irrational beliefs and therefore they are in control of how they respond to adversity
because they can have autonomy over their believes (Turner, 2016). REBT differs
from other forms of of cognitive0behavioral approaches by placing irrational and
rational beliefs at its core. In REBT rational believes are defined as beliefs that are
flexible, non extreme and logical and irrational believes are rigid, extreme and
illogical. REBt does not attempt to change healthy negative emotions (e.g.
annoyance, regret, frustration, disappointment) because these emotions are
appropriate reactions to difficult circumstances. In REBT the individual needs to
dispute the rational from irrational thoughts. There are three ways in which one can
dispute their beliefs. One form is realistic dispute that entails one identifying the facts
and investigating what is true and factual. The second way to dispute is to use
logical dispute which looks at the irrational beliefs. The third form of disputing is the
pragmatic dispute that explores the pragmatic outcomes of holding the irrational
beliefs (Ellis Ellis, 2014).The central aim

Kellogg s Case Study
Question One:
There are three key sectors of the supply chain, namely; primary, secondary and
tertiary sectors. The former encompasses all processes and activities geared towards
transforming natural resources into primary products which are then to be used in
manufacturing finished products (Choi, 2011). For instance, the forestry industry
falls under the primary sector bearing in mind the fact that it focuses on transforming
a natural resource, i.e. trees, into a primary product (timber).
On the other hand, the secondary sector is concerned with transforming the primary
products generated from the primary sector into finished products. For instance,
Kellogg s is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This gives a candid explanation as to why Kellogg s entered into an agreement with
Tesco meant to allow its products to continue being displayed in the latter s stores.
Kellogg s collaboration with tertiary sector entities can also be attributed to its allure
in ensuring it continues to purport successful business activities. For instance,
maintaining good relationships with banks makes it possible for the entity to acquire
additional funds to finance its operations or investment activities (Leeman, 2010).
Question Four: The major benefit that can be realized from the decision of large
manufactures like Kellogg s to outsource some its activities to specialist companies
like TDG is that of making the former s supply chain and distribution channels to
become more efficient. The achievement of this objective is usually facilitated
through the emphasis of these specialist entities to employ computerized systems
while purporting stock handling and logistic functions for their clients, with this
enhancing the timely and cost efficient delivery of stock in the larger manufacturers
retail stores (Choi, 2011). Moreover, these specialists assist larger firms such as
Kellogg s to minimize the wastages which normally occur within their supply chains,
more so through streamlining their transportation, distribution and storage systems

The disease usually affects the elderly, people 65 and older, but 200,000 of the
Americans living with Alzheimer s today are younger than 65. One in ten people
over 65 have Alzheimer s, making this disease common. African Americans are
almost twice more likely to develop a form of dementia than older Caucasians.
Hispanics are one and a half times more likely to develop Alzheimer s disease than
Caucasians. Most cases of Alzheimer s are caused from a mutation in one of the
APP, PSEN1, or PSEN2 genes. When one of these three genes are reformed, a
toxic fragment called amyloid beta peptides is created in the brain. The peptide will
then produce clumps in the brain, called amyloid plaques, which is a characteristic
of Alzheimer s disease. An accumulation of toxic amyloid plaques will most likely
cause death to the nerve cells and show symptoms of the disease. This mutation
carries on from parent to child, making the disease hereditary. Researchers say that
people with Down syndrome have a high risk of developing Alzheimer s
Fracking And Its Wastewater Disposal
Dat Ninh T. Drosselmeyer Engl 1113 088 14 November 2016 1393 words Fracking
and its wastewater disposal are threatening human s life In recent years, there has
been an increasing concern about whether or not should factories keep using
Fracking as their main method to extract oil and gas from the underground.
Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing can be defined as the process of drilling down
into the Earth and injecting high pressurized water mixture into the ground, creating
cracks in the deep rock formations and allows oil and gas to flow out of the wells.
In her study, Susan Hough pointed out that wastewater disposal used in Fracking is
the main reason leading to the instability of the ground. This pressurized liquid is not
only believed to cause most of earthquakes but also contains many toxic chemicals
which bring other environmental issues including water poisoning, air pollution, and
soil pollution. As my values are about human safety and environment protection, I
am totally against the use of Fracking in extracting oil and from my point of view,
Fracking is an indirectly fatal and environmentally destructive. First and foremost,
the wastewater used in Fracking is the primary cause of recent earthquakes in
Oklahoma. As soon as a well is deeply drilled, cased and cemented, high pressure
water compound is pumped down to fracture hard rock layers in the underground.
This creates micro fractures in the rock layers and causes the faults in the formation to

compare among their similarities. Each story uses the setting and their conflicts to
show the theme and the characteristics of each character. In these stories, they all

each other in their characters and the themes. There are similarities among the stories
The Most Dangerous Game, Liberty , and Harrison Bergeronin the themes for each
story. For example, in Harrison Bergeron the theme is to stand up for what you
know and what you believe is right. Harrison in the story escaped from prison, tore
his handicaps off, doing the rest for those who were also handicapped. Harrison
knew the risks of doing these tasks, but he did it to show people what life was
supposed to be like, and make an example of it. Even as I stand here crippled,
hobbled, sickened, I am still greater than any manwho ever lived. The themes of
Liberty and The Most Dangerous Game are very similar, both stories themes are to
never give up, fight for what you want, no matter how hard the battle or big the
obstacle may be. In the story liberty the narrator s family struggles with the harsh
government and struggles to get their visas to escape without anyone knowing. An
important quote in that story was, All liberty involves sacrifice . This quote means

The Theory Of Algebraic Semi Rings
ON BORNOLOGICAL SEMI RINGS
ANWAR N. IMRAN
Abstract. Our main focus in this work is to generalizes the theory of algebraic semi
ring from the algebraic setting to the framework of bornological set. More
specifically, the concept of new structure bornological semi ring BSR is introduced
and the fundamental constructions in the class of bornological semi rings are
discussed. In particular, the existence of arbitrary projective limits and arbitrary
inductive limits of bornological semi ring is ensured. Additionally, the description of
the category of bornological semi rings is presented and we study the product,
coproduct and fiber product. Key words: Bornological Set, Bornological Ring.
1. Introduction
The notion of a bounded subset of (real or complex) topological vector space was
introduces by von Neamann. That motivated the definition and more general
classes bounded sets and called bornologies. A bornological space is a type of
space in functional analysis and it is very useful to solve problem of boundedness
for set of elements and functions. That means, the main goal for bornology is to
determine the boundedness, location and sitting the boundary for any area. A
bornology on a set X is a family ОІ of subsets of X, such that;
Every singleton set fxg is in ОІ, that means, ОІ covering X ;
If A вЉ‚ B, B 2 ОІ then A 2 ОІ;
ОІ is stable under finite union.
The elements of ОІ are called bounded subsets of X. Let X and Y be two bornological
sets, a map f : X ! Y is called bounded if
Germany Third Reich
The creation of the Third Reich under the rule of Adolf Hitler has since been the
cause of much debate, due to its inconceivability. The extremity of the atrocities
committed during this government s rule is of such an enormous scale that it seems
implausible, considering the civilised structure of our society. As well as imposing a
fascist and anti Semitic regime onto Germany, he also attempted a Jewish genocide.
For such an event to have occurred in an advanced civilization is extremely unlikely,
however, it was possible owing to the fact that Germany actually was not a stable
country at the time.
As a result of losing World War I, it was agreed by the Allies to demand that Germany

In Disgrace, two instances of sexual assault occur, albeit the outcomes of these
assaults could not contrast more. After the first, the novel s protagonist, David Lurie,
finds himself in the middle of a well publicized scandal due to his unconventional
relations with a student; after the second, Lurie is indirectly affected by the rape, as it
is his daughter, Lucy, who is the victim of the despicable crime, and never receives

He repeatedly insists that Lucy press charges against her attackers while she
maintains her defence of saying he wasn t there, and you don t know what

police: К»What if this is the price one has to pay for staying on? ... They see me as
owing something. They see themselves as debt collectors, tax collectors. Why
should I be allowed to live here without paying? Perhaps that is what they tell
themselves (158). As suggested by Barnard, Lucy is accept[ing] her fate as a
symbol of the redistribution of power in post apartheid Africa and sees her rapists
as gathering apartheid debts , as her attackers were black (Barnard 74). Lucy also
says that her decision to stay silent is Freedom of speech. Freedom to remain silent
(Coetzee 188). With this reasoning, she is silencing herself as a rape victim and
accepting the consequences of the attack by deciding to keep one of the attackers
children she becomes pregnant with , in addition to marry her black neighbour

People are compelled to conclude that the Government does not want to spend

The duration and frequency ranges from mild lava flows to extremely destructive

Helena is located in Hawaii, the Kilauea volcano, the most active volcano on the
island and one of the most active in the world that has been vibrating since 1993.
Japan, Mount Ontake, is the second highest. In Japan there are a large number of
active volcanoes. These include Mount Fuji, which is expected to erupt in a very
short time. I can mention the Sakurajima, located in Kagoshima, south of the island
of Kyushu. Due to the activity of this volcano the authorities have alerted the
population to stay away from it.
Russia, most of the active volcanoes are located on the peninsula of Kamtchatka,
Siberia. One of them Shiveluch, characterized by the violence of its eruptions.
Volcano Plosky Tolbachik, which had been dormant since 1976, came on stream in
2012.
The subject of the volcanoes attracts me, since they are natural phenomena that can
not be predicted. We are currently studying this topic in science class and I really
like it. Volcanoes are dangerous but can be predicted, since before they start their
eruption they have a series of characteristics that can alert
Cultural Values Of The Ojibwa Culture
The Ojibwa or known as the Chippewa in European are people of northeastern North
America. The term Ojibwa is said to mean the puckered moccasin people or they say
the French said the word meant pictograph. The Chippewa Indians mainly lived in
the Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and Michigan. There was 35,000 Ojibwaon
the continent in the mid seventeenth century. They used the word Anishinabeg to
describes themselves which means original people. The Ojibwa has its own
cultural values like honesty, generosity, endurance, wisdom, and strength of
character. All these values have been instilled through education and religious
practice. The tribe has had ties with the French and even helped the French fight
against the British in the French and Indian war. The French traders would even
wed Chippewa women. The family was of great importance to the Ojibwa tribes.
Each person in the Ojibwa family has its own role to ensure that things are done
correctly. In the Ojibwa community, the roles between males and females were seen
as complementary. The males would do the hunting and go to war if needed. The
men would also be the ones that do trading and negotiation with the Europeans after
the first contact. They usually hold leadership positions. Even though the society
was usually not as organized, there was still need for leaders. People would gain
rank as great warriors, religious leaders, and civil leaders. The most respected in the
towns would be the shaman because of his

1 Introduction
?The increased importance being attached to exchange rates is a result of the
globalisation of modern business, the continuing growth in world trade relative to
national economies, the trend towards economic integration and the rapid pace of
change in the technology of money transfer.? (Copeland, Laurence S. 2014). In 21th
July 2005, Chinese authority announced that the exchange rate system changed, from
the dollar peg to the floating basket peg system. Recently, since the volatility in the
forex market is growing, which makes there is increase concern about forecasting of
exchange rate movements. (Schnabl, 2008).
It is well known that currencies exchange rates is difficult to forecast accurately.
There are a lot of models can be used to get relatively accurate estimating result of
volatility. Using those models to research currency exchange rate volatility is
necessary. A timely and accurate exchange rate estimating can provide valuable
information in various fields, such as, economy, finance and polity, which is helpful
to get more effective portfolio allocation, better foreign exchange rate investment
result, more accurate assets pricing and more efficient politics administration.
In international finance filed, there are many studies focus on modelling the

Case Brief of Illinois v. Caballes
Case Brief of Illinois v. Caballes Citation: 543 U.S. 405 (2005) Case Facts: Roy
Caballes was stopped for speeding by an Illinois state trooper Daniel Gillette.
During the traffic stop another state trooper Craig Graham of the Illinois State
Police Drug Interdiction Team, overheard the stop on the radio and showed up to
the scene with a narcotics detection dog. While the first trooper was writing Roy
Caballes a warning ticket for speeding the second trooper walked around Roy s car
with the narcotics detection dog. The dog alerted that it had detected narcotics at
the rear end of the car which subsequently led to the state troopers searching the
trunk of the car. Upon searching the trunk of the car the state troopers found a
large quantity of marijuana which consequently led to the arrest of Roy Caballes.
The entire incident lasted no longer than 10 minutes. Roy Caballes was convicted
of a narcotics offence and was sentenced to 12 years in prison and ordered to pay a
$256,136 fine. Case Issue: Does the use of a narcotics detection dog during the
course of a routine traffic stop violate the Fourth Amendment s protections against
unreasonable searches and seizures? Case Procedural History: Roy Caballes tried to
suppress the drugs seized in the stop by claiming that the state troopers did not have
probable cause to search his vehicle. The trial judge denied the motion to suppress
the seized marijuana. The trial judge held that the use of the drug dog did not prolong
the duration

The Roswell Incident Essay
There are many movies about what happened that night on 4th July 1947 in
Roswell, New Mexico. You may have seen the X files, Unsolved Mysteries and
some other films or series that talk about UFO s, aliens and other mysteries
connected with this event. However, to find truth is something not very easy to do
such as there is a huge amount of conspiracy theories and we do not know which one
is the real one, and what actually happened still remains a mystery. By doing this
research, I want to find out the truth about what really happened and how has it
changed society. The fact is, that Roswellincident really changed the opinion of
society during time and people started to believe that aliens visit us and US

He tried to burn them, scratch them with a knife and no marks appeared. He took
some debris to show his neighbours and his son. Soon after that, he notified George

authorities at Roswell Army Air Field Base were immediately contacted and Brazel
was questioned and kept for a number of days.
Apart from the wreckage which was found, there were three objects that were
frequently mentioned. Three bodies when two were dead and one died in a
couple of weeks. No one knows whether it is actually true, because it is determined
only by several witnesses who claim to have seen the bodies. Some of these people
turned out to be quite highly respected military officers. A few people say that the
bodies were human and that they have been damaged by radiation. This radiation
might have been caused, owing to nuclear weapons that Roswell Army Air Base had
been tested, since they were at the time the only ones which could test nuclear
weapons. On the other hand, this theory was discounted, because this kind of
radiation would kill a human being long before such a massive deformation could
occur. People blamed government with covering the whole event. They moved the
wreckage to Dayton in Ohio, to avoid publicity and prevent from a worldwide panic.
In 1995, a film called Alien Autopsy leaked and was presented as an autopsy of the
body that was recovered

There was a time when people having Chinese mobile phones were dreaming about
smartphones. But nowadays, Chinese mobiles are offering much better smartphone
experience at much lesser cost than those expensive ones. Xiaomi is one of the
brands that made this possible. While considering a Chinese phone, Xiaomi has
became the first choice of many Indians.

A higher end version of Mi Max is expected to come with octa core Snapdragon 652
SoC, 128 GB of storage space and 4 GB of RAM soon.
The phone runs on a modified version of Android Marshmallow that called as MIUI
7 which is quite similar used in MI 5 earlier. And this phone can be upgradeable to
MIUI 8 in coming months.
Performance
The phone is pretty stable and functional for ideal smartphone users. Most of the
apps works fine on the Snapdragon 650 SoC processor. The Xiaomi has its own
music player to give a better musical experience for hard core music lovers. The
audio quality with headphones is pretty good but the mono speaker doesn t provide
that great music experience at all. Incorporation of stereo speakers could have solved
this issue but this is missing in it, which is not good.
The camera of Mi Max is 16 megapixel at rear and is capable of 4k video recording.
The front have a 5 megapixel camera with capability to record 720p videos. The
quality of camera is good even in low light.
The battery life of Mi Max is boosted with 4850 mAh battery which last easily for
upto 2 days even after frequent use.
My Experience Of A Project Contract
On May 31, 2017 I met Ethan Alexandre at The Tile Shop where he presented me
with two Invoices, one for 13rd of the project total estimation ($xxxxx) relating to
the Scope of Agreement which was my project list that I gave him and he put into a
company letterhead. The other relating to The Tile Shop Invoice for tile ($xxxxx).
We were meeting this day to retain for the project start date of June 15, 2017 and to
take advantage of the Memorial Weekend extra savings that would not be available
after this date to purchase tile material.
I was told I had to pay Element Construction for the materials up front as well as
secure a project start date of June 15 with a project completion in 4 to 6 weeks.
I asked Ethan if the money I pay him up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two weeks into the project when they were needed for the project, Ethan notified
me he would not be able to bring his Plumber or Electrician to the project nor a
custom cabinet maker. My local Plumber (Cozart) and Electrician (Mitchell) were
able to work us in and Ethan said he would adjust the project estimate for their part
as I paid Cozart and Mitchell directly. Ethan s skills as a general contractor are
questionable as well. His approach to the project was haphazard and without a
plan as to what would get accomplished the days he did show up. It would take him
all day to get to the job site, just to have to leave (sometimes more than once) to run
somewhere for materials or tools. Ethan also blamed his being late to my project
because he spends so much time running around getting materials and tools for his
(highly skilled?) employees. I even had to lend him an extension cord for his drill.
His worker, James, even talked at length with Ethan about getting a drywall person
to come to this project to hang the drywall. Ethan brought Calvin to the project after
that. He was a glass installer and it looked as if he had never hung drywall before.
The agreed completion of the project was 6 weeks. At 6 weeks, Ethan declared the
project to be half way completed and it looked like it had a lot longer to go,
especially since Ethan had a difficult time making it to the project site. He also said
he was having a cash flow
Benefits Of Raising Minimum Wage
Creating jobs, raising minimum wage, donating to the poor are not going to erase
the poverty out of the United States of America. The government defines poverty as
the bottom fifteen percent of annual income. No matter what one does to increase a
person s income there will always be someone in poverty. Across America there are
always charities, religious groups, and civic clubs who are givingto the poor from
food giveaways, clothing giveaways, free tutoring, free health screenings, whatever
else there is constantly something for the poor to benefit from. The problem is that
people want to help, but if they are constantly giving the needy these items, services,
or money, then are the poor becoming dependent? When will one person stop... Show

If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime ( Chinese par. 1). This
ancient proverb has some truth in it. Right now in America, the poor are not being
taught how to fish instead they are relying on charities to give away food and
clothing for them to survive. Through work readiness programs and a reform in
food and clothing distribution, charities can cut the parasite of the dependent poor
and prepare them to go out and earn what they need. Job preparation programs are
an excellent way to minister the poor and needy by preparing them for the future
and empowering them to be able to take care of themselves. In Seat Pleasant,
Maryland, the Training Source offers job training program, self improvement
workshops, and skill training. The Training Source is teaching those who do not
have jobs, job skills which will equip them and help them to find a job (Singletary
par. 9). Once the poor and needy have a job, they will not need to rely on donations
of food and clothing to survive. In my hometown, Anniston, Alabama, the Christians
Women s Job Corp and the Christian Men s Job Corp pairs men and women up with
mentors who will help the needy with obtaining their GED, interviewing skills,
resume building, how to dress for success, and applying for jobs. The job corps also
provide, upon completion of classes, interview appropriate clothing and
transportation to job interviews. Both of these programs are helping
Dimensional Fund Advisors Case Study
Dimensional Fund Advisors is an investment consulting firm, founded by David
Booth in the year 1981. Mr. Booth was a Ph.D. student at the business school and
one of Professor Eugene Fama s students, a professor who came up with the efficient
market hypothesis. Mr. Booth believes in the soundness of the hypothesis that he
says the financial crunch supplied further proof and support of market efficiency as
far as publicly traded stocks and bonds are involved, but he cautioned that the idea
should not be extended to other areas of the financial market and its managers make
money by applying this strong belief.
The efficient market hypothesis states that financial markets are profitable and that the
prices in the stock market already embed all familiar information regarding a stock or
other security and that the prices adjust quickly to new information which includes
current and future expectations about a stock. It further explains that if all needed
information concerning the investment is known, it will be difficult for any investor
to outperform the market since he/she will be working with the same information as
everyone else. Also, that it is impossible to consistently beat the market by stock
picking.
However, Dimensional investment consulting firm make their money by
concentrating their efforts on what matters and managing a wide range of strategies
bearing in mind that securities are reasonably priced in liquid and competitive

Preventable Sports Injury
Heat illness is one of the most preventable sports injuries. It s a problem that can
sideline an athlete for the game or even end a career. Athletes need to take steps to
reduce the potential for heat injury by making sure they are prepared for training and
competing in the heat. Adequate fluid intake both on and off the field helps keep
energylevels high by regulating body temperature, preventing heatexhaustion and
transporting nutrients and energy to the muscle tissue.
Proper hydration is the best safeguard against heat illness. Remember the before,
during and after activity fluid guidelines Athletes should drink at least 10 12 cups
(80 96 oz) of fluids per day to meet daily fluid needs. Athletes may need over 20 cups
of fluid each

The Omnipresence of Corn in the American Diet
In Part One of Michael Pollen s book The Omnivore s Dilemma, the author looks at
the plethora of products available in today s supermarkets and the ubiquitousness
of one plant, corn. Corn is a grass native to Central America and unknown in other
parts of the world before 1492 (Pollan, 2006, p. 23). After the Native Americans
taught colonists to plant corn, they quickly learned to appreciate its value and
versatility. Corn was ready to eat, could be dried and stored, and could be ground
into flour. The grain fed people and animals. Dried stalks became heating fuel.
Mashed, fermented corn could be made into whisky and beer. It was a commodity
that sustained people in many ways. For nearly 450 years, corn remained an
important staple that nourished humans and animals. It provided some by products
that were also considered quite useful. By the middle of the 20th century, however,
corn became a political commodity and completely changed the way we eat. The
years after World War II saw the introduction of chemical fertilizers. The government
was looking to dump chemicals no longer needed for defense manufacturing. It may
have seemed like a good idea at the time, but it changed farming and eating forever.
The corn plant readily used these synthetics, growing prodigiously and eliminating
the need for farmers to rotate crops. The government, Wall Street, and private industry
capitalized on the bounty, ultimately resulting in the omnipresence of corn, in one
form or another, in the
Essay on Family Portrayal in the Film The Castle
The Castle is a movie primarily about a family sticking together and their fight for
the right to live in their own home. The Castle s portrayal of family is both positive
and negative.
The Castle depicts many positive images of the family throughout the movie. From
the very start of the film, it is easy to see that the Kerrigans are a very close knit
family. They always eat their dinner together, with the TV turned down , and talk
about their day. Around the dinner table the family shows support for each other,
and recognizes anything a family member may have achieved, like when Darryl
beams with pride telling the family about how Dale dug a hole. The family also sets
aside time after dinner for the family to watch TV together. ... Show more content on

When Tracey and Con returned from their honeymoon, Darryl, Sal, Steve and Dale
met them at the airport and walked them home. They then sat and talked for hours
about the trip. This shows that the family enjoy spending time with each other, and
are quite contempt to just sit and talk.
Although there are many positive aspects of family depicted in The Castle, some
portions of the film display negative images of family.
One instance is where Steve s car window is smashed. Instead of reporting this to the
police, Darryl and Steve go to the house of the man who was responsible, abuse him
through the intercom, then proceed to tear down and steal the iron gates from the
house. When the police question Darryl about the disappearance of the gates, he lies
and says he had nothing to do with it, despite the gates sitting on the front lawn. This
is definitely not a positive portrayal of family.
Darryl and Steve also display a negative image of their family when a thug appears at
their home to pass on a message. Steve sees what is happening and threatens the man
with a gun. When he leaves, Darryl yells at Steve for having the gun, but then
proceeds to ask where he bought it from and how much he paid. Although Darryl is
not directly condoning the illegal use of a more than likely unregistered gun, he
seemed more interested in the savings Steve made purchasing it than the fact he just
threatened someone with it.

Essay on Hysteria
In the beginning was Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, who freed the emerging
science from the chains of superstition, introduced empirical observation and the
bedside manner, and both identified and named hysteria (Gilman 1993, 3).
Hippocrates, lived in ancient Greece from 460 BCE to 377 BCE, the first [known]
person to study hysterical actions believed (as did the proceding Greeks and
Romans) that hysteria was strictly a female problem, and in many cases almost any
problem a female had was considered hysteria (Gilman 1993, 4). This view was
believed for an extensive period of time but as Appignanesi asserts many other things
that were once believed to be true are proven false later, i.e., the earth is the center of

In fact much of Freuds analysis of Dora uncovered repressed sexual desires.
Around the age of eight Dora began to develop neurotic symptoms. Their family

Social Worker Reflection Paper
In this video, the social worker s role was that of a therapist. Dr. Siri Singh sat with
his client to discuss some of the issues Kathryn Hudson and her alter ego Katy Perry
has been experiencing over the years. Kathryn sought guidance, acceptance,
affirmation and explanation with this session and I do believe the therapist was able
to achieve this for his client. The therapist, or Dr. Singh, created a safe environment
for Kathryn to speak her mind. In the very beginning of the session, the therapist tells
Kathryn to sit back and relax, in an attempt to help Katy feel that this is a nurturing
and comfortable space for her; and I perceived it to have been an effective strategy
for therapist and client in this situation. Dr. Singh was asked probing questions and
actively listened through out the entire session, which builds trust with the client. I
perceived his body language to be very open, because he had his chest facing
towards her; this arms by his side and legs leanly outwardly. This type of body
language suggests openness and that the person is willing to receive information.
Dr. Singh also practiced very good verbal and non verbal cues that he was actively
listening to his client as they spoke. He would nod his head, and every few minutes
say, yes , to signal his understanding. Danish, D Augelli, and Hauer explain this to be
self disclosure, using verbal and non verbal expressions. Examples include smiling,
shaking ones head in disbelief, or in the case with Dr. Singh, nodding his head.
Another technique the therapist used that builds trust was his consistent
determination to not let Kathryn speak negatively about herself (17:00, 21:51, 27:58,
31:08). I believe this to be a vital skill and important detail to ay attention to and I
commend the therapist for making that important. This ties in with the empowerment
theory, I believe. Dr. Singh, instead of letting the client say something negative
about herself he would have the client use a different and more positive term. An
example of this was when Kathryn described herself as bizarre, and the therapist
said he did not like that word, and helped his client think of a more positive
descriptive word such as exotic, intriguing or eccentric. This builds
Essay about It s Time to End School Inequality
The right to an adequate education is a freedom every American child should have;
however, that is not the case. Standardized testing reveals that students living in an
economically stable neighborhood are more mentally developed than students living
in poverty stricken communities. The problem with the educational system is not
schools need to close and children need to be relocated to another one, it is inequality
within the educational system continues to widen due to the expansion of the
economic gap. One cannot fix issues of the broken system by closing public schools
and endorsing charter schoolproliferation. One must first start with the economic
situation of each school to ensure all students, teachers, and schools... Show more

Poverty stricken neighborhoods are underfunded, therefore, do not have all the
materials on hand to teach its students. When I was in school, I had a book for
every class so I may take it home and complete my homework. Some of Chicago s
Elementary Schools does not have books until mid year, closer to the end of the year.
The teacher did not fail the student nor did the school did not fail the student. The
blame belongs to the education system which failed the student, teacher, school, and
community. It is impossible for the teacher to teach the student without access to
material. It is impossible for the student to learn the material without access to it.
However, the student, teacher, school, and community is penalized for students not
doing well on standardized tests as Mr. Emmanuel decides to shut the school s doors
for good as he opens up the Charter Schools.
At one of Chicago s newest Noble Charter Schools, my daughter only had a History

Gun Violence in Missouri
Missouri is an amazing state, full of interesting sights and sounds. There is the
towering, metal Saint Louis Arch. The massive and beautiful Union Station. The
large wheat fields, the long flowing Missouri river, and the large, beautiful Ozarks
forests. Missouri, even after these things, like any states, is not perfect. Unlike some
states however, Missourihas many flaws that can very easily be fixed, but the
problem is that Missouri government is not doing much to stop it, one of the
biggest problems being gun control. We are losing so many lives in major
shootings at schools. The part that makes me mad is that after mourning the loss
for a bit, we move on, forgetting the tragedy left behind. Missouri is not being very
strict about these gun laws, and it is hurting us in the social look from other states,
and making us seem like a state that doesn t care. We need to take control of these
gun laws to make Missouri a safer place. To begin, Missouri is one of the worst
states for gun control laws. The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gave
Missouri an F for gun violence, and out of all the states Missouri ranked 39th out of
50 having enacted few gun violence prevention laws. ( Missouri State Law
Summary. ) The thing is, that Missouri HAS disallowed the permit to purchase, the
registration, and the licensing to owners of all guns. The problem is, is that even
though you are not allowed to carry a rifle or shotgun around, you can carry a
handgun around, which is what has

Riis, Jacob. How the Other Half Lives:Studies Among the Tenements of New York.
Charles Scribners Son s, 1914. Bartleby, NA, http://www.bartleby.com/208/.
In How the Other Half Lives, Jacob Riis invesitgates and describes all aspects of life
that the poor population of New York City, during the Guilded Age, experience.
COmbined with actual photo evidence, Riis writes to inform those who don t
realize (the wealthy, politicians, people above the Lower East Side) just how terrible
the living conditions were to lower class families. He explains that most people of
particular wealth and prestige ignore the problem, partly because of the lies the
politicians are feeding them about the conditions the others live in.

I had picked out this source to help better support my thesis about how femisism
was erected from horrible unequal conditions for women back in the time period
of Maggie. Seeing as I am now focused on the effects of poverty on women I will
not be needing this source although it is a credible source and supposedly a popular

This article is about the terrible conditions in the slums of New York CIty. When I
started reading it the information was similar to all the other articles I already
had. Then as you continue down instead of any information it is just pictures.
Shortly after that I actually looked at the website and realized it was a blog.
Knowing that this does not count as a valid source I will not be using it. I don t
know if Vincze Miklos is credible in any way, or if any of his information is true. For
fear of a bad grade I will not be using this blog
Analysis Of The Poem About His Person By Simon Armitage
The poem about his person is about how we can build a sense of people from just a
few objects. This poem is like a detective story with the reader building the
character, his life in the past and what happened to him just from several objects.
Whereas the poem Daughters is presenting identity through your legacy and
breaking stereotypes. The poems both create a sense of identity without actually
describing anyone or their situations. About his person is a poem by Simon
Armitage based around the story of police discovering a body and trying to figure
out what happened to him and his past life. In the poem About his person you find
out about the mans identity through analysing several objects. The poet shows us this
by using images of things found on his body for example a ring of unweathered skin

Another interpretation is that the flowers are symbolic to love or sadness which
could then link back to being recently divorced/separated. Also in the poem about
his person his character is mirrored by the violent language used. The poet shows
us this by using violent actions to describe normal objects an example of this is
but beheaded, in his fist this hints that he can t let out his constrained anger and
chose to take it out on a shopping list. He may have bottled up anger for a long
period of time and chosen not to let it out. Another example of this is a pocket
sized diary slashed with a pencil this may indicate that he was planning to do
something or had been to an event. Maybe even with his previous partner before he
split up/ divorced. The word slashed makes us think of anger and aggression again
possibly aimed at his previous partner. With the poem about his person the mans story
is still unclear no matter how much you analyse
The Rainforest
The Rainforest is home to many creatures of the world. There are The Amazonians,
Rubber Trappers and Environmental groups who want to preserve it. This essay is
about how the Rainforest is trying to be preserved from be cut down so people who
depend on it can live.
The Amazonians have been here for thousands of years and have lived peacefully in
the Rainforest. They live in the Rainforest and don t come out of the Rainforest for
anything, but they are tribe that has not seen anything that resembles anything with
electricity. They are a warrior tribe and hunt with bows and arrows. They are with the
Rubber Tappers who tap rubber from rubber trees. They have been in brazilsince the
1870s and been there since. They gather rubber from trees in away that doesn t hurt
them. The Environmental groups want to preserve the rainforest so it doesn t go

They use the Rainforest to their advantage by using the wood and and leaves for
clothing, food, and weapons. They benefit from the Rainforest cause all they need is
right next to them. The rest of the world benefits from it cause we get medicine from
it and food that is used to feed our population. They spend most of their time in the
forest hunting so they can feed their tribe. The Rubber Tappers benefit by
collecting natural resources from the forest like the Amazonians. Environmentalist
benefit from the Rainforest because they are preserving the Rainforest and creating
jobs along with the Rubber Tappers. The world gets benefits from the Rainforest
because they find new species and plants to help people in the medical world. The
world also gets fresh fruit from the forest so they can keep on feeding their country.
We can also find different types of animals and study their behaviors so we know
when their is a bad storm or flood
Statement Of Sop In Computer Science
Statement of Purpose
Learning is like a ripple in the waters of an endless ocean . This is one of my
favourite percepts and for the past few decades, man has been advancing into the
unknown realms of technology and science. This advancement is to make life
comfortable for humans at home and at work and I would like to be an essential part
of such enhancement. To accomplish this imposing task. I am aware that besides my
strong dedication and hard work, an eminent background in Computer Science is
required. Therefore, I have decided to pursue masters in Computer Science, which
will lead me to a career of teaching and research.
I am very earnest towards assimilating knowledge to the greatest amplitude.
Effective teaching and proper guidance throughout schooling helped me to build a
strong foundation. I was fascinated by the way things work, from dismantling and
maintaining my own toys to modeling a dam as a part of science exhibition; my
curiosity was focused at unraveling the function of devices. I have decided way long
back to be a Mechanical Engineer which was a logical career choice. ... Show more

and sincerely to achieve good grades, which is very evident from my constant

from having academic proficiency, I have participated actively in many extra
curricular activities like cultural, social service events and sports. I love sports, and

Visit To Temecula, California
I chose Temecula, California because I have always dreamed to visit Temecula.
Temecula, California, a Large city in the southwestern region of the state, is known
for skating, wineries, and shopping. Temecula also has a lot of historical sites to visit.
This would be an educational and fun trip.
There is many historical sites in Temecula, Californiafor instance Old Town
Temecula, Peltzer farm, Temecula berry company, and Old Town Temecula jail you
know the little things that Temecula is known for. These sites are all small individual
historic structures, but they re what makes up Temecula.
Temecula is a large city of 106,780 people. That is a lot bigger than what I am use
to, Ste.Genevieve, Missouri there is only 4,405 people. That is not a lot compared to
Temecula California. This city has been around since 1859.
In Temecula there is many tours you can take. Especially tours of wineries. They
have other tours like the scuba center, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two that are not an hour or two away they are San Clemente State Beach and
Beacon s beach. Personally I would drive to long beach even though it is about an
hour and a half away. I d go for the experience to see something you wouldn t get to
see every time you went to California.
My overall impression of Temecula, California is that it is a great family place. Also I
figured out that there was more to do than to just go to the skatepark and to go
shopping and get a new skateboard. I notice that there is so much more than I even
thought of. Going to Temecula, California would not only be an amazing vacation,
but it is an opportunity to try new things and to learn new things as well. Old Town
Temecula is going to blow your mind.
So in conclusion I would give temecula a 4 out of 5 star rating. This is more of a
family city. Temecula will be my future destination. Hopefully your families could
enjoy this at some
Vegetarianism Philosophy Essay
Vegetarianism is a custom practiced in six out of the seven continents and has
become more popular over the years. Vegetarianism can be defined as the exclusion
of animal products such as meat and fish from one s diet. Dairy products and eggs
are often times excluded as well. Although there are many reasons one may decide to
become a Vegetarian or follow such a code of ethics, the most common include:
moral, religious or health reasons.
Morally, one may feel obligated to exercise Vegetarianism due to the inhumane
treatment of animals throughout the farming process. The issue is that roughly ten
billion animals are raised for United States food consumption alone. Animals such as
cows, fish, chickens, pigs, and turkeys are subjected to ... Show more content on

However, it is not an argument of which life holds more value. The argument is that it
is immoral to subdue animals to inhumane conditions for the purposes of efficiency
and human food consumption.
For some, the choice of Vegetarianism is decided based on religious beliefs or
practices. Vegetarianism is compatible with the major world religions the Eastern
Religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism) and the Abrahamic Religions (Judaism,
Islam, Christianity, and BahГЎ Г Faith). Among these, it is most commonly
practiced by those of the Buddhist, Christian and Islamic faith. Vegetarianism within
the Buddhist culture is taught along with the Four Noble Truths, which focus on the
acts of suffering. Since the Buddhist faith accepts the idea of karma, it is believed
that in order to maintain a life of peace and happiness and remain free of suffering,
one must refrain from the harming, injuring or killing of any living being. As part of
the Christian faith, animal cruelty is forbidden. The teachings of Jesus Christ focus
on the ideas of love, compassion, mercy and acceptance. Although the question of
eating meat is not directly addressed in Christian doctrine it can be implied that
since animals are a creation of God and the idea of love for all of God s creations is
heavily stressed in the Christian faith, then out of Christian love on should lead a life
7 Habits Of Highly Effective People By Stephen R. Covey
In the book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey he explains
how the world is entirely based on our own perception. In order to change a
situation, we must change ourselves, and in order to change ourselves we have to
change our perception. These days, individuals look for quick solutions. They see
successful people, companies, and organizations that have achieved success and
wonder how they can get a hold of their techniques. The problem is these shortcuts
that we all look for, hoping to save time and energy and still received the desired
result, isn t... The way we see the problem is the problem (pg. ) As individual we
have to allow ourselves to experience a change in how we think. Covey explains
how we must altar our attitude and behavior in order to achieve true change
through the seven habits. Habit 1: Principles of Personal Vision Throughout this
habit we are reminded what it means to be responsible for ourselves. We learn to
take initiative, choosing our attitude, and always doing the right thing even when
no one is looking. We know as individual that we can easily give up on a situation
or relationship if it is too hard or not going the way you want, but Covey reminds
us that we choose the script for our lives. Do not give up but use self awareness to
be proactive and take reasonability for our choices. What distinguishes us as humans
is our ability to examine our own character, to decide how to view ourselves and our
situations, and control
Writing For A Penny A Word Is Ridiculous
L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology once said, Writing for a penny a word
is ridiculous. If a man wants to make a million dollars, the best way would be to
start his own religion (Hubbard). Scientology is a relatively new religion compared
to other religions that date back thousands of years.
Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain
understanding of one s true spiritual nature and one s relationship to self, family,
groups, Mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the
Supreme Being. (Scientology Beliefs Practices: What is Scientology?)
Ever since Scientology s beginning only sixty two years ago it has been the source of
a slew of controversy and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He then merged the two concepts into something he called dianetics, which is the
Greek word for thought. As he continued to study this he wrote a book called
Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. Dianetics states that the human
mind has blocks called engrams and by going through a process, which is later to
be called auditing that is very similar to psychoanalysis, a person can be cured of
these mental blocks. Martin Gardner a respected author once stated a treated
patient is then called a clear and that person should then have a higher IQ, should
heal faster, have better eyesight and never get a cold. The clear is, literally a
superman an evolutionary step toward a new species (Martin). Many have
speculated that Hubbard s beliefs are undecidedly similar to some of Hubbard s
science fiction short stories about space and astronauts. In his stories many of the
characters were invincible and their minds had no limits, and according to Hubbard
s new religion one s mind can actually become limitless through the process of
auditing. This brought on many skeptics of the new religion and created a lot of
controversy (L. Ron Hubbard). One of the main parts about being a part of the
Church of Scientology is the auditing process. An auditor audits a preclear to
restore beingness and ability . There are two steps in the auditing process, the first is
to help the preclear rid themselves of spiritual disabilities and the second is to increase

TJ MAXX s roots come from the TJX Companies Incorporated. TJX Incorporated traces back to 1919. The founding brothers Max and Morris Feldberg started their business with a New England Trading Company in Boston, Massachusetts. A few years later, in 1929, they decided to go into the discounted department store business and founded Zayre. After being successful in the department store business, they decided to expand and then after being extremely successful in the 70 s they decided to go for something bigger. This next step came during 1976 when Bernard Cammarata, a young Merchandise Manager, was offered to launch an off price chain project. Under him, TJ MAXX was born in the United States. TJ MAXX became one of the most successful off price chain stores in the United States and around the world. Today, TJX CompaniesInc. is still the parent company for TJ MAXX, also owning Homegoods, and Marshalls among others. According to TJX.com, the first two TJ MAXX stores were an instant success, located in Auburn and Worcester, Massachusetts. A few years passed and the company expanded all over the United States and eventually in the 90 s they expanded into Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland. With variations in the name such as T.K. MAXX or WINNERS but with the same concept. Continuing with the expansion, T.K. MAXX went to Germany and Poland in the 2000 s. The company also decided to

There are many famous examples of films and novels that engage with insanity as a theme. Directors and novelists have often sought to portray the experience to their audiences. In my texts, Shutter Island, Split, The Secret Window and Identity the directors have given contrasting representations of insanity, its cures and its symbolic significance. The director has also given similar representation of its causes and the symptoms. The films in my study suggest that trauma and guilt are often the triggers for mental illness and insanity. The main characters are witnesses to horrific events and it seems that the trauma and guilt upsets their mental equilibrium/stability. We see this in Shutter Island, as we eventually learn that Andrew Laeddis killed his wife, this is because his wife murdered their three children in cold blood as she was mentally unstable. Dolores had told Andrew that she had an insect living inside her brain, she could feel it clicking across her skull, just pulling the wires, just for fun . But Andrew too obsessed with work and his alcoholism is blinded to Dolores own mental breakdown which made him feel guilty that he wasn t there to help her when he should have. He also mentions to Dr Sheehan that he feels guilty due to his involvement in the liberation of Dachau, as he had deliberately let the camp commander suffer a slow and painful death. He later on

Ridouani,D(2011) in a research publication outlined the ways in which Muslims and Arabs are conceptualized by the western media with a drastic effect on its people. As she points out The main concern will focus on the analysis of the distorted images, fabricated views, overgeneralization which typically characterize the Western representation of Muslims with reference to some particular incidents chiefly the Gulf War, the bombing of Oklahoma and the bombardment of Twin Towers. Reflecting back to the ABC framework created by Ellis, it helps to facilitate therapy due to it s non complex and memorable way for clients to understand the antecedents to their emotions and behaviors. Most importantly it enables clients to realize that it is not outside events that are causing their dysfunctional reactions but rather their irrational beliefs and therefore they are in control of how they respond to adversity because they can have autonomy over their believes (Turner, 2016). REBT differs from other forms of of cognitive0behavioral approaches by placing irrational and rational beliefs at its core. In REBT rational believes are defined as beliefs that are flexible, non extreme and logical and irrational believes are rigid, extreme and illogical. REBt does not attempt to change healthy negative emotions (e.g. annoyance, regret, frustration, disappointment) because these emotions are appropriate reactions to difficult circumstances. In REBT the individual needs to dispute the rational from irrational thoughts. There are three ways in which one can dispute their beliefs. One form is realistic dispute that entails one identifying the facts and investigating what is true and factual. The second way to dispute is to use logical dispute which looks at the irrational beliefs. The third form of disputing is the pragmatic dispute that explores the pragmatic outcomes of holding the irrational beliefs (Ellis Ellis, 2014).The central aim

Kelloggs Case Study g sName: University: Course: Tutor: Date: Kellogg s Case Study Question One: There are three key sectors of the supply chain, namely; primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. The former encompasses all processes and activities geared towards transforming natural resources into primary products which are then to be used in manufacturing finished products (Choi, 2011). For instance, the forestry industry falls under the primary sector bearing in mind the fact that it focuses on transforming a natural resource, i.e. trees, into a primary product (timber). On the other hand, the secondary sector is concerned with transforming the primary products generated from the primary sector into finished products. For instance, Kellogg s is a ... This gives a candid explanation as to why Kellogg s entered into an agreement with Tesco meant to allow its products to continue being displayed in the latter s stores. Kellogg s collaboration with tertiary sector entities can also be attributed to its allure in ensuring it continues to purport successful business activities. For instance, maintaining good relationships with banks makes it possible for the entity to acquire additional funds to finance its operations or investment activities (Leeman, 2010). Question Four: The major benefit that can be realized from the decision of large manufactures like Kellogg s to outsource some its activities to specialist companies like TDG is that of making the former s supply chain and distribution channels to become more efficient. The achievement of this objective is usually facilitated through the emphasis of these specialist entities to employ computerized systems while purporting stock handling and logistic functions for their clients, with this enhancing the timely and cost efficient delivery of stock in the larger manufacturers retail stores (Choi, 2011). Moreover, these specialists assist larger firms such as Kellogg s to minimize the wastages which normally occur within their supply chains, more so through streamlining their transportation, distribution and storage systems (Leeman,

Hispanics are one and a half times more likely to develop Alzheimer s disease than Caucasians. Most cases of Alzheimer s are caused from a mutation in one of the APP, PSEN1, or PSEN2 genes. When one of these three genes are reformed, a toxic fragment called amyloid beta peptides is created in the brain. The peptide will then produce clumps in the brain, called amyloid plaques, which is a characteristic of Alzheimer s disease. An accumulation of toxic amyloid plaques will most likely cause death to the nerve cells and show symptoms of the disease. This mutation carries on from parent to child, making the disease hereditary. Researchers say that people with Down syndrome have a high risk of developing Alzheimer s
  • 11. Fracking And Its Wastewater Disposal Dat Ninh T. Drosselmeyer Engl 1113 088 14 November 2016 1393 words Fracking and its wastewater disposal are threatening human s life In recent years, there has been an increasing concern about whether or not should factories keep using Fracking as their main method to extract oil and gas from the underground. Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing can be defined as the process of drilling down into the Earth and injecting high pressurized water mixture into the ground, creating cracks in the deep rock formations and allows oil and gas to flow out of the wells. In her study, Susan Hough pointed out that wastewater disposal used in Fracking is the main reason leading to the instability of the ground. This pressurized liquid is not only believed to cause most of earthquakes but also contains many toxic chemicals which bring other environmental issues including water poisoning, air pollution, and soil pollution. As my values are about human safety and environment protection, I am totally against the use of Fracking in extracting oil and from my point of view, Fracking is an indirectly fatal and environmentally destructive. First and foremost, the wastewater used in Fracking is the primary cause of recent earthquakes in Oklahoma. As soon as a well is deeply drilled, cased and cemented, high pressure water compound is pumped down to fracture hard rock layers in the underground. This creates micro fractures in the rock layers and causes the faults in the formation to

  • 15. The Theory Of Algebraic Semi Rings ON BORNOLOGICAL SEMI RINGS ANWAR N. IMRAN Abstract. Our main focus in this work is to generalizes the theory of algebraic semi ring from the algebraic setting to the framework of bornological set. More specifically, the concept of new structure bornological semi ring BSR is introduced and the fundamental constructions in the class of bornological semi rings are discussed. In particular, the existence of arbitrary projective limits and arbitrary inductive limits of bornological semi ring is ensured. Additionally, the description of the category of bornological semi rings is presented and we study the product, coproduct and fiber product. Key words: Bornological Set, Bornological Ring. 1. Introduction The notion of a bounded subset of (real or complex) topological vector space was introduces by von Neamann. That motivated the definition and more general classes bounded sets and called bornologies. A bornological space is a type of space in functional analysis and it is very useful to solve problem of boundedness for set of elements and functions. That means, the main goal for bornology is to determine the boundedness, location and sitting the boundary for any area. A bornology on a set X is a family ОІ of subsets of X, such that; Every singleton set fxg is in ОІ, that means, ОІ covering X ; If A вЉ‚ B, B 2 ОІ then A 2 ОІ; ОІ is stable under finite union. The elements of ОІ are called bounded subsets of X. Let X and Y be two bornological sets, a map f : X ! Y is called bounded if

As well as imposing a fascist and anti Semitic regime onto Germany, he also attempted a Jewish genocide. For such an event to have occurred in an advanced civilization is extremely unlikely, however, it was possible owing to the fact that Germany actually was not a stable country at the time. After the first, the novel s protagonist, David Lurie, finds himself in the middle of a well publicized scandal due to his unconventional relations with a student; after the second, Lurie is indirectly affected by the rape, as it is his daughter, Lucy, who is the victim of the despicable crime, and never receives justice. Lurie was not ashamed of his actions previous to his daughter s rape, but after she is assaulted, he sees the situation in an entirely new light, as it is his own child being violated by men. Lucy also says that her decision to stay silent is Freedom of speech. Freedom to remain silent (Coetzee 188). The Omnipresence of Corn in the American Diet In Part One of Michael Pollen s book The Omnivore s Dilemma, the author looks at the plethora of products available in today s supermarkets and the ubiquitousness of one plant, corn. Corn is a grass native to Central America and unknown in other parts of the world before 1492 (Pollan, 2006, p. 23). After the Native Americans taught colonists to plant corn, they quickly learned to appreciate its value and versatility. Corn was ready to eat, could be dried and stored, and could be ground into flour. The grain fed people and animals. Dried stalks became heating fuel. Mashed, fermented corn could be made into whisky and beer. It was a commodity that sustained people in many ways. For nearly 450 years, corn remained an important staple that nourished humans and animals. It provided some by products that were also considered quite useful. By the middle of the 20th century, however, corn became a political commodity and completely changed the way we eat. The years after World War II saw the introduction of chemical fertilizers. The government was looking to dump chemicals no longer needed for defense manufacturing. It may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but it changed farming and eating forever. The corn plant readily used these synthetics, growing prodigiously and eliminating the need for farmers to rotate crops. The government, Wall Street, and private industry capitalized on the bounty, ultimately resulting in the omnipresence of corn, in one form or another, in the

The Castle s portrayal of family is both positive and negative. The Castle depicts many positive images of the family throughout the movie. From the very start of the film, it is easy to see that the Kerrigans are a very close knit family. They always eat their dinner together, with the TV turned down , and talk about their day. Around the dinner table the family shows support for each other, and recognizes anything a family member may have achieved, like when Darryl beams with pride telling the family about how Dale dug a hole. When Tracey and Con returned from their honeymoon, Darryl, Sal, Steve and Dale met them at the airport and walked them home. They then sat and talked for hours about the trip. This shows that the family enjoy spending time with each other, and are quite contempt to just sit and talk. Although there are many positive aspects of family depicted in The Castle, some portions of the film display negative images of family. One instance is where Steve s car window is smashed. Instead of reporting this to the police, Darryl and Steve go to the house of the man who was responsible, abuse him through the intercom, then proceed to tear down and steal the iron gates from the house. When the police question Darryl about the disappearance of the gates, he lies and says he had nothing to do with it, despite the gates sitting on the front lawn. This is definitely not a positive portrayal of family. Darryl and Steve also display a negative image of their family when a thug appears at their home to pass on a message. Steve sees what is happening and threatens the man with a gun. When he leaves, Darryl yells at Steve for having the gun, but then proceeds to ask where he bought it from and how much he paid. Although Darryl is not directly condoning the illegal use of a more than likely unregistered gun, he seemed more interested in the savings Steve made purchasing it than the fact he just threatened someone with it. • 38. Social Worker Reflection Paper In this video, the social worker s role was that of a therapist. Dr. Siri Singh sat with his client to discuss some of the issues Kathryn Hudson and her alter ego Katy Perry has been experiencing over the years. Kathryn sought guidance, acceptance, affirmation and explanation with this session and I do believe the therapist was able to achieve this for his client. The therapist, or Dr. Singh, created a safe environment for Kathryn to speak her mind. In the very beginning of the session, the therapist tells Kathryn to sit back and relax, in an attempt to help Katy feel that this is a nurturing and comfortable space for her; and I perceived it to have been an effective strategy for therapist and client in this situation. Dr. Singh was asked probing questions and actively listened through out the entire session, which builds trust with the client. I perceived his body language to be very open, because he had his chest facing towards her; this arms by his side and legs leanly outwardly. This type of body language suggests openness and that the person is willing to receive information. Dr. Singh also practiced very good verbal and non verbal cues that he was actively listening to his client as they spoke. He would nod his head, and every few minutes say, yes , to signal his understanding. Danish, D Augelli, and Hauer explain this to be self disclosure, using verbal and non verbal expressions. Examples include smiling, shaking ones head in disbelief, or in the case with Dr. Singh, nodding his head. Another technique the therapist used that builds trust was his consistent determination to not let Kathryn speak negatively about herself (17:00, 21:51, 27:58, 31:08). I believe this to be a vital skill and important detail to ay attention to and I commend the therapist for making that important. This ties in with the empowerment theory, I believe. Dr. Singh, instead of letting the client say something negative about herself he would have the client use a different and more positive term. An example of this was when Kathryn described herself as bizarre, and the therapist said he did not like that word, and helped his client think of a more positive descriptive word such as exotic, intriguing or eccentric. This builds

Standardized testing reveals that students living in an economically stable neighborhood are more mentally developed than students living in poverty stricken communities. The problem with the educational system is not schools need to close and children need to be relocated to another one, it is inequality within the educational system continues to widen due to the expansion of the economic gap. One cannot fix issues of the broken system by closing public schools and endorsing charter schoolproliferation. The blame belongs to the education system which failed the student, teacher, school, and community. It is impossible for the teacher to teach the student without access to material. It is impossible for the student to learn the material without access to it. All she had was her notes, which lacked much of the material needed for comprehension. She became frustrated as the coursework was not hard, but not able to grab a book to do homework caused her to lose sleep as she
  • 40. Gun Violence in Missouri Missouri is an amazing state, full of interesting sights and sounds. There is the towering, metal Saint Louis Arch. The massive and beautiful Union Station. The large wheat fields, the long flowing Missouri river, and the large, beautiful Ozarks forests. Missouri, even after these things, like any states, is not perfect. Unlike some states however, Missourihas many flaws that can very easily be fixed, but the problem is that Missouri government is not doing much to stop it, one of the biggest problems being gun control. We are losing so many lives in major shootings at schools. The part that makes me mad is that after mourning the loss for a bit, we move on, forgetting the tragedy left behind. Missouri is not being very strict about these gun laws, and it is hurting us in the social look from other states, and making us seem like a state that doesn t care. We need to take control of these gun laws to make Missouri a safer place. To begin, Missouri is one of the worst states for gun control laws. The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gave Missouri an F for gun violence, and out of all the states Missouri ranked 39th out of 50 having enacted few gun violence prevention laws. ( Missouri State Law Summary. ) The thing is, that Missouri HAS disallowed the permit to purchase, the registration, and the licensing to owners of all guns. The problem is, is that even though you are not allowed to carry a rifle or shotgun around, you can carry a handgun around, which is what has

He may have bottled up anger for a long period of time and chosen not to let it out. Another example of this is a pocket sized diary slashed with a pencil this may indicate that he was planning to do something or had been to an event. Maybe even with his previous partner before he split up/ divorced. The word slashed makes us think of anger and aggression again possibly aimed at his previous partner. With the poem about his person the mans story is still unclear no matter how much you analyse

The argument is that it is immoral to subdue animals to inhumane conditions for the purposes of efficiency and human food consumption. For some, the choice of Vegetarianism is decided based on religious beliefs or practices. Vegetarianism is compatible with the major world religions the Eastern Religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism) and the Abrahamic Religions (Judaism, Islam, Christianity, and BahГЎ Г Faith). Among these, it is most commonly practiced by those of the Buddhist, Christian and Islamic faith. Vegetarianism within the Buddhist culture is taught along with the Four Noble Truths, which focus on the acts of suffering. Since the Buddhist faith accepts the idea of karma, it is believed that in order to maintain a life of peace and happiness and remain free of suffering, one must refrain from the harming, injuring or killing of any living being. As part of the Christian faith, animal cruelty is forbidden. The teachings of Jesus Christ focus on the ideas of love, compassion, mercy and acceptance. Although the question of eating meat is not directly addressed in Christian doctrine it can be implied that since animals are a creation of God and the idea of love for all of God s creations is heavily stressed in the Christian faith, then out of Christian love on should lead a life

They see successful people, companies, and organizations that have achieved success and wonder how they can get a hold of their techniques. The problem is these shortcuts that we all look for, hoping to save time and energy and still received the desired result, isn t... The way we see the problem is the problem (pg. ) As individual we have to allow ourselves to experience a change in how we think. Covey explains how we must altar our attitude and behavior in order to achieve true change through the seven habits. Habit 1: Principles of Personal Vision Throughout this habit we are reminded what it means to be responsible for ourselves. We learn to take initiative, choosing our attitude, and always doing the right thing even when no one is looking. We know as individual that we can easily give up on a situation or relationship if it is too hard or not going the way you want, but Covey reminds us that we choose the script for our lives. Do not give up but use self awareness to be proactive and take reasonability for our choices. What distinguishes us as humans is our ability to examine our own character, to decide how to view ourselves and our situations, and control
