Gallaudet s Accomplishments
Congratulations, you have just graduated from high school. This is the first time in
your life where you have a chance to make life altering decisions. One can decide
from going to college or going to work, going to a two year university or taking
some time off to travel. For many, the next step after graduating high schoolwould be
going to college. What happened if one was deaf or hard of hearing and wanted to go
to college and receive higher education? Gallaudet University was a pioneering
school that led to many changes not only within the deaf community but also in the
United States as a whole.
For those who were deaf in the United States during the 1800s, it was very difficult to
get any education, and higher education was practically ... Show more content on

I had a change to contact a BSU representative through email and they answered a
few questions. One of the things I wanted to know was about the diversity at
Gallaudet, not only race but in general. The response I got was explaining that
Gallaudet is extremely open when it comes to the LGBT community. When it
comes to race there have been some instances in which the BSU representative
believe that race played a role, but these events are very minimal and should not
discourage minority students from attending Gallaudet. One thing that they did
note was that because this is a majority deaf university, students come here because
they want to be surrounded by other students like them, who are deaf. Something
else that I was interested in asking about was the nightlife. I got mixed reviews
because again, I was emailing the BSU organization as a whole. Some believed
that they had good nightlife activities on campus, some students went off campus a
lot more, but others did not like going off campus. The reason some students do
not like going off campus is because it is hard for them to communicate with those
who are hearing. The other thing I wanted to know about was BSU in general. I
was curious if Xavier s Black Student Association (BSA) was similar to Gallaudet s
BSU. The simple answer to that question is yes. Both BSA and BSU have similar
program types, focusing on race and how minorities are

Persuasive Essay On Legalization Of Marijuana
The dispute regarding weed, more formally known as Cannabis Sativa, has been a
topic of discussion throughout the years as people can t seem to come to a
conclusion about it. One side of the argument claims that people are addicted to
this drug and its destroying brain cells of the users, and other people claim it not to
be as overbearing as other drugs and it is harmless to use. Upon further research the
answer is simple. Weed indeed proves to be beneficial and should not be prohibited
or illegal. Society shames Cannabissmokers because it is inhaled the same way as
tobacco, and those that are against it have developed the notion that it is bad for
people s health. However, society fails to realize that Marijuana s effects are helpful
and not any different from any other drug as it fights off illnesses, lacks addictive
chemicals and qualities, can be used productively, and legalization makes it
challenging for children to obtain it. Before delving into the positives of using
marijuana, people need to consider the successful people that have made it where to
prosperous positions despite Marijuana consumption. According to a Huffington Post
article, Maya Angelou, Martha Stewart, Morgan Freeman, Ted Turner, Michael
Bloomberg, and even Rush Limbaugh are all high functioning marijuana users
(Jacques). Under the influence of Marijuana, similar to alcohol, people react

How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of A Snowstorm
This painting is about a lower class family that is going through a snowstorm in the
middle of the winter to survive instead of just staying inside the warm house. This
painting is called the snowstorm and was painted by Francisco Goya to illustrate a
lighter but still hard time in life. This painting is about a family out in a snowstorm
and illustrates a lot about the character of the family with the hardships that they went
through, along with the desperation and willpower to survive.
While the family is out in the middle of the snowstorm they have many hardships
to deal with. The family is all grouped together in the middle of the painting with
their jackets wrapped around them and their heads facing down to keep warm
with snow in every direction of them as if they don t want to travel. This shows
that the family is cold and, yet they have to face the hardship of the winter. The tree
next to the family is severely swayed to the right the branch in front of the family
was broken off from the tree and laying on the ground showing how hard it was to
face the cold and wind of the storm. A dog is in front of the family at attention on all
four feet with the dog s paw prints trailing the dog showing that the family is
moving in the direction away from the prints. There is a dead pig draped across and
the back of a mule and tied down to it, along with a man on the left side has a gun in
between his arms tucked into his body as if he is the one who hunts the food for the
family.

How Did Elizabeth I Win Spanish Armada
Introduction [maximum 250 words]
In 1588, Europe bore witness to one of England s greatest naval victories to date,
establishing it as a major European Superpower of the 16th Century and marking
one of its most progressive era s. Despite the fact that England s defeat of Spanish
King, Philip II s armada was acclaimed to have been owed to the intervention of a
higher power, both historians past and present can acknowledge the significance of
Queen Elizabeth I and the integral role which she played in her nations victory.
England s extreme success from this conflict was unanticipated, yet integral to her
reign, as it not only decoupled preconceived ideas about her legitimacy and capability
to rule, but also ended long religious feuds concerning the nation s primary religion.
The political benefits which this victory gained Elizabeth s government were major,

Bathymetry Plate Tectonics
Discuss how are knowledge of bathymetry has increased our understanding of plate
tectonics? Bathymetry is the study of Floor Ocean. The earth is covered by 70.8%
of water; this includes oceans, lakes, and seas. Bathymetry is created to know
information on water behavior for safety when navigating on the surface or below
the water. One of the methods being used today is the echo sounders which makes
use of sound beneath the water; and together with the GPS is it possible to give a
report of the features of underwater. Also maps are important to scientist to learn
more about the climate change on the environment. The ocean begins, of course, at

The Importance Of Impression Management
Impression management is an inevitable part of human life. Impression management
is a deliberate and conscious form of desirability ... [that] requires cognitive effort
(Uziel 202), or thought. It is not supposed to be associated with one s actual behavior
(Uziel 202), but, rather, impression management is the image people portray of
themselves by the use of behaviors to intentionally regulate the impressionsthat
observers have of oneself (Lewis and Neighbors 470). Patricia M. Rodriguez et al.
claim that people will present themselves in ways they believe will produce positive
rewards and will help them accomplish their goals (403), but different goals require
different self presentations. Thus, people must alter their impression managementin
pursuance of achieving their social objective. Mark R. Leary and Ashley Batts Allen
claim that people do not interact with others but rather make their own impressions
of that person (889). In other words, people go by their mental representations and
inferences they make about a person s character instead of who the person really is.
In order to control others impression of them, people may use manipulation and
deceptionin their impression management to present a favorable image of
themselves. As a way to influence the perception of others on themselves, people may
use a strategy of being untruthful in their achievements and behaviors that provide
them with a mechanism to manufacture a positive outward image (Tyler and Feldman

According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, an estimated
eighteen million acres of forest are lost each year. Forests are disappearing 2.4 acres
a second by being cut, cleared or burned, and over eighty percent has already been
destroyed. The Public Service Announcement (PSA) from The Nature Conservancy is
effective at convincing the audience of the importance to protect trees ( Deforestation

Pollution comes in many different forms such as air, water and soil. Air pollution
occurs when wood and other substances are burned and release dangerous gases
causing global warming. When these gases are released into the air, it gets in the
clouds causing it to mix with the water. Because of this it, acid rain

In order to identify BMW Group s internal strengths and weakness, here applied

intangible resources, and competences. All of these resources enable a company to
attain a sustainable competitive advantage (Dess et al, 2010). Tangible Resources

The Philosophy of Teaching Essay
My Philosophy of Teaching
Philisophical teaching stratigies include the following disciplines, essentialism,
existentialism, and many others. Of these stratigies the philisophicla approaches each
include a distinct direction in the style and type of learning taking place. Lessons
should include these philisophical teaching stratigies within there designed properties.
Although all of the stratigies may be able to incorporate all learning disciplines and
learning styles a lesson does not need to contain the entire array of philisophical
stratigies. Informitive lessons may take place without all stratigies invovled.

and understand the emotions of others. With this value present, it is harder for one

Students are also taught to deal with problems by identifying the problem,

formulate some sort of solution, ask whether or not the endeavor is safe, and to
consider how others will feel about this solution. By utilizing these methods,
children are taught to stop and think about their actions in a rational manner and
incorporate and apply their lessons on empathy into their decision making (Frey, et

The power of time management skills as a predictor of Personal Success suggests
its importance in the wider domain of life success (George, Stansal, Gelb, amp;
Pheri, 2008). Maintaining a good balance between work, family, and school, is
crucial in one s ongoing career as a full time student.
Physical and mental health are very important in maintaining a positive and forward
thinking outlook. As noted by George, Stansal, Gelb, and Pheri (2008), health
related variables (healthy diet, quality of overall health) played a surprisingly
powerful role as predictors of success (pg. 714). Maintaining your health and mental
wellbeing can be beneficial at keeping stress at bay. In several studies, stress
emerged as an important variable with relationships to grade point average (GPA)
and intent to persist along with goal commitment. College students with lower levels
of academic stress and more satisfaction with their academic experiences also
manage their time well (P., Newbold, amp; Mehta, 2011). Maintaining good sleep
patterns can help keep students alert when working on schoolwork. Staying healthy
can help with stress management, which in turn, can help with family life and make
things at home easier and less stressful. With less stress at home, education goals are
easier to accomplish.

In order to convey the trait of poverty, Erdrich employs the use of imagery, even the
setting reflects their impoverished state. In the beginning of the novel, the road
leading towards the reservation is described as having ruts and holes (11). The
surrounding land was a dull tan the dry ditches, the dying crops (11). Erdrich s visual
imagery gives the reader a mental image of a desolate environment. In addition,
Erdrich references dust twice on page eleven, giving the impression of the prairies
during the dustbowl, which occurred during the 1930 s when the world was going
through the Great Depression, allowing the reader to subconsciously connect the
environment of the reservation as poor, neglected and bleak. The grim environment
creates sympathy for the female characters, many of whom live on the reservation. In
addition, there is the alliteration of the letter d . This emphasises the poverty in which
these characters live in by bringing attention to the dull , dry and dying environment
of the reservations. Despite the despondent surroundings, Erdrich s poetic style
pushes the reader to consider this environment as a home, rather than merely a

Walmart de Mexico
Wal Mart de Mexico
Comercial Mexicana S.A. (Comerci), one of Mexico s largest retail chains, was
faced with a serious dilemma. Since Wal Mart s aggressive entry into the Mexican
retail market, Comerci has found it increasingly difficult to remain competitive. Wal
Mart s strong operating presence and low prices since NAFTA s lifting of tariffs
have put pressure on Comerci, and now management must decide if it can improve
Comerci s competitive position by remaining independent or by merging with either
a local or foreign retailer. Which raises one question that needs to be answered: What
has caused this intense competitive pressure on Comerci, and what is likely to be its
future? Mexico s retail sector has benefited greatly from the ... Show more content on

Wal Mart has also come across logistics problems due to poor roads and the
scarcity of delivery trucks. Yet another problem was the culture clashes between
the Arkansas executive and the Mexican managers. Some of these problems were
solved by trial and error, but the emergence of the North American Free Trade
Agreement in 1994 helped solve most of the problems. Among other things,
NAFTA reduced tariffs on American goods sold to Mexico from 10 percent to 3
percent. Prior to NAFTA, Wal Mart was not much of a threat to companies like
Comerci, Gigante, and Soriana, Mexico s top retailers. But once the agreement
was signed, the barriers fell and Wal Mart was on a level playing field with its
competitors which was all it needed to become number one. NAFTA encouraged
Mexico to improve its transportation infrastructure, thus helping to solve Wal Mart s
logistical problems. The signing of NAFTA also opened wider gates to foreign
investment in Mexico. Wal Mart was paying huge import fees on goods shipped to
Mexican areas like Europe and Asia. Foreign companies knew that if they built
manufacturing plants in Mexico, they could keep costs low with Mexican labor but
ship to NAFTA s free trade zone, Mexico, the United States, or Canada. As companies
began to build manufacturing plants, in Mexico, Wal Mart could buy these products
without paying the high import tariffs. An example of this tactic is Sony s flat screen
television line, Wega. Sam s Clubs in Mexico imported
Antimicrobial Activity of the Phytochemical Constituents...
Abstract
The antimicrobial activity of alkaloids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, phenol and
cardic glycoside present in the various parts of Chrysophyllum albidium plant were
investigated. These phytochemical were determined quantitatively and tested against
staphylococcus aureus, B. subtilis, pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. coli, C. tetani, and
the fungus; candida albicans. Most the plant parts were found to contain alkaloids,
tannins, phenols and flavonoids except for the absence of cardic glycosides in the
root, tannins in leaves, and phenol in seed. The significance of the plant parts in
traditional medicine and the importance of the distribution of these phytochemicals
were discussed with respect to the role of these plant parts in ... Show more content on

London awoke on a Sunday morning to the sound of car horns and sirens. Almost

The IT entrepreneur I ve decided to research on is Larry Page, the co founder of
Google. This report covers the purpose of Google as a search engine, the
technologies that it uses for its searches, how it managed to beat its predecessors and
the hardware that it uses, both old and new ones. The reason why I chose Google is
because I ve been using it for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy the
experience of surfing the web with it. 2. Key Information
1.1Introduction
The idea of Google developed when its founders wanted to organize an infinite
amount of information on the web. It was first called Backrub , and later on adopted
the name Googol, after a mathematical terminology. The founders, Larry Page and
Sergey Brin worked on their idea for 3 years before deciding to incorporate it. It
officially became a company in the year 1998. Google started off as a search engine,
and it maintains its core business until now. The main benefits of having a search
engine include quick results for intended searches, as search engines extract
information from the web and display in an organized manner.
Google quickly became the most popular search engine due to several reasons.
Firstly, this is due to speed of delivering search results. When it first launched, Google

Procedures For Carrying Out This Research
Procedures The procedures for carrying out this research were concentrated on
satisfying the following three questions: (a) What are the risks facing the residents
in the Largo Fire Rescue response district? (b) What is the likelihood of each risk?
(c) What is the severity potential of each risk? Initial research began during the fall
of 2015 while completing the pre course work for the National Fire Academy s
February 2016 Executive Analysis of Community RiskReduction course. This
included using census data to build a demographic profile of the Largo Fire Rescue
response district, which consisted of the total population of the community, its
geographical size, and the presence and distribution of races, cultures, age groups, and
socioeconomic levels. Other areas investigated were economic drivers that support
the community s tax base such as key businesses and industries. Additionally,
problematic social issues were examined such as educational levels, crime/violence,
gangs, unemployment, and substance abuse. In addition to census records, data were
retrieved from Pinellas CountyDispatch and the National Fire Incident Reporting
System. NFIRS data from 2010 through 2015 was collected, and a comprehensive
list of incidents that took place in the Largo Fire Rescue response district was
comprised. This information was composed to expose the frequency and severity of
incidents such as fires, preventable injuries, medical emergencies, water rescues,
traffic incidents,

Kingfisher airlines ranks second with 20% market share. NACIL (National Aviation

carriers Air India and Indian Airlines, captures 18.3% share.
The airline with the largest fleet in the domestic market is Air India, but its market
share of the number of passengers is low, and therefore results in a low fleet hare
to passenger share ratio of 0.62. Kingfisher leads the full service carrier segment
with a fleet to market share ratio of 0.95, but this also includes figures from their
low cost Kingfisher Red service. Passenger market share leader Jet Airways is at
0.82 and this includes their low fare service Jet Konnect.
For a better comparison between Jet and Kingfisher, if we add up the numbers of
Jet s other low fare subsidiary JetLite, the total group ratio of Jet at 0.865 still
remains well behind Kingfisher s 0.95, suggesting a far more aggressive fleet
utilisation strategy by Kingfisher.
Expectedly, the low fare carrier side shows much higher ratios, due to their higher
usage of aircraft and also the higher number of seats offered per flight due to an all
economy configuration. The laggard is JetLite with a ratio of 1 while SpiceJet and
IndiGo are neck and neck at 1.75 and 1.76.However, GoAir, has an industry leading,

Understanding The Human Resource Management
Understanding the human resource management theory is important to understanding
the role that human resource management practices have in the volunteer mechanism.
According to Armstrong (2010), Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) is
an approach to making decisions on the intentions and plans of the organisation in the
shape of the programmes, policies and practices concerning the employment
relationship, performance management, learning and development, resourcing,
rewards and employee relationships, (p. 115).There is a paradigm shift from a
functional role to a tactical one through the strategic management process. SHRM is
very important to the effectiveness of all organisation such as London Irish but also
any others professional and volunteering organisations because it ensures that the all
needs of the community have been met and provides the opportunity for group
leaders to add value to the community (Introduction to Human Resource Management
, 2012, p.6) while achieving the goals and objectives of the institution such as London
Irish.
Jules and Holzer (2001) noted that Strategic Human Resource Management enhances
employee productivity and the ability of government agencies to achieve their
mission. One can conclude that it is the same for all other institutions as SHRM
focuses on the issues and goals of the organisation and strive to implement plans
collectively to achieve those goals. In contrast to traditional Human resource
management, SHRM focuses on
China Vs America Essay
In the world there are numerous systems of government that are implemented in
various ways throughout the nations. Government in the dictionary is defined as:
The exercise of authority; direction and restraint exercised over actions of men in
communities, societies or states; the administration of public affairs, according to
established constitution, laws and usages, or by arbitrary edicts. (gov) The type of
government a country abides by determines how officials are placed into power and
how legislation is passed. Two powerful countries in particular, America and China,
will be the primary focus of this paper.
The United States of America is a Federal Republic, in which citizens are responsible
for electing the members of the government at the local, state, and national level. The
definition of a Federal Republic is as follows a state in which the powers of the
central government are restricted and in which the component parts (states, colonies,

Why Amelia Earhart s Plane Happened In 1937
One example of bias is all the theorists and skeptics about why Amelia Earhart s
plane disappeared in 1937.
In 1928, Amelia Earhart was the first woman to cross the Atlantic as a passenger on
a plane with two other pilots. In 1937, Amelia Earhart planned on flying around the
globe with Navigator Fred Noonan, flying near the equator. This trip would have
lasted 40 days and been 29,000 miles. When the plane they were going to use, The
Electra, and them were ready to take off from California, it was May 21st.
Around 3/4ths the way through their journey, they planned on stopping at an island
called Howland Island. Every hour, Earhart and a radio operator, Harry Balfour, were
to send transmissions to each other.
But when Balfour tried to warn Earhart about strong winds an hour after she took off,
she did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But her plane never arrived. Aircraft carriers and ships searched extensively for
Earhart, Noonan, and the plane, but they were never found.
Most people think that the plane must have ran out of gas and that they crashed near
Howland Island. This is biased.
Is it biased because most people who believe this theory don t know the whole story
and they embellish parts of it. They say that they were running low on gas, that they
were heard near the island, and that her final transmissions seemed frantic. She also
flew up 10,000 feet, which would not have been good for their fuel storage, but most
think that this was to avoid clouds or mountains.
But this doesn t add up because an Electra with as much fuel as Earhart s had
should have lasted as long as their whole trip. It should have been enough for 24
hours of flight but her plane crashed after only 20 hours. But this also shows how the
skeptics are biased as well.
It has been concluded that from the 10,000ft climb and also the strong winds, their
plane would have run out of fuel by the time she
Dystopian Bildungsroman
The effect that dystopian societies have on Bildungsroman is not necessarily large,
but it still alters the traditional view of it. First off the dystopian society has a few
trademarked aspects. These include: the use of propaganda to control people,
restrictions on freedom, a certain concept is worshipped by society, constant
surveillance, fear of outside world, dehumanized state, real world is banished and
distrusted, individuality is bad, and the society is supposed to be a utopia.
(readwritethink.org)
One of the major differences in Dystopian Bildungsroman is that traditionally the
protagonist will have people who are mentors and help them to find their correct
place in society, but in dystopia there are not many good mentors leading ... Show

Bildungsroman was originally directly about the protagonist s character formation
and finding their place in society, but the dystopian society brings more of a focus
on the protagonist discovering their place despite the corrupt society surrounding
them. In Divergent Tris has a choice to make about her future, she has her family to
stay with and a community that she grew up in and is expected to stay in. What the
society has ingrained in her is that despite what she wants her best place is with her
family in the same faction. Society has supplied them with a false hope of making
their own choice when they turn sixteen. When they do turn sixteen, they must take
an aptitude test and attend the choosing ceremony. The aptitude tests place the teens
in simulations of situations that are meant to tell them where they fit the best in
society, and generally the teens only receive one faction that best fits them. In Tris
case she received three different factions as possible choices and was told to keep
her results a secret because this rarely happened and she would be in danger if the
people in power found out. This breaks the mold of Bildungsroman because Tris
society has inadvertently given her more than one option showing that there isn t just
one place she can be useful but
Computer Security As A Critical Problem For Computer
Systems
ABSTRACT Over the past decade computer networks have rapid growth, but the
computer security became a critical problem for computer systems. Thus in the recent
years various soft computing technique based methods were proposed to detects the
growth of intrusion. Also many researchers have reported that the large set of pattern
classifications and machine learning algorithms are trained and testing is made on the
knowledge discovery data intrusion detection dataset is unsuccessful in finding the
remote to local attacks and user to root attacks. Moreover Hyperbolic Hopfield Neural
Network(HHNN) based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) detection stability,
detection ratio, particularly low frequent attacks are still required to be improved.
Thus this paper proposes a new method known as K Medoids HNNN using the
technique HHNN and K Medoids clustering. This system achieves the higher
intrusion detection rate, detection stability and less false positive rate. At first the
proposed system implements the K Medoids clustering technique on the various
training subsets. Afterwards a mono HHNN model is trained using the different
training subsets to detect the intrusion. The experimental results shows the K
Medoids HHNN approach achieve better results rather than other framework.

Benefits Of Obtaining A Lasting Relationship With A Dog
The purpose of this essay is to investigate the benefits of obtaining a lasting
relationship with a dog. Through research examined from multiple different sources
the important positive influences a dog can provide include an increase in mental
health, social health, and physical health. By acquiring a relationship with a doga
person can seek out meaningful companionship that they are not obtaining from
being in a humanrelationship (Kurdek, 2009). One reason a person may turn to a dog
for company is due to a recent loss of a loved one (Kurdek, 2009). In a study by
Kurdek (2009) it was shown that dogs could help people in an elderly carefacility by
providing them with social interactions. The social interactions created helped the
elderly with mental and social health, but the interactions with the dog also improved
their physical health. In a study by Martin, Wood, Christian, and Trapp (2015) it was
shown that owning a dog creates the obligation to walk the dog daily. With the
increase in physical activity Martin et al. observed an increase in mental and social
health of the subjects results from their study.
Importance of the Family Dog For many of centuries dogs have been an essential part
of many people s lives. There are old sayings like dogs are man s best friend, and
33% of Canadian homes own at least one dog (Perrin, 2009). People have been
known to consider their dog to be an important family member or even treat their dog
as their own child, this is
Analysis Of Entre Les Murs
Laurent Cantet s Entre les murs is a contemporary French film based on the novel
by François Begaudea. The film gives us an insight into the French education
system and more specifically the life of François Marin a high school literature
teacher in France. Francois day to day life of being a school teacher in a working
class area of Paris is portrayed to us throughout the film and we are introduced to the
struggle he faces of dealing with boisterous teenagers who are uninspired and
unwilling to work. The film deals with the relationship between the teacher and the
pupils and this relationship is determined by several factors. The pessimistic attitude
of the teacher and the difference in social classbetween the teacher and the students
are two of the main issues which affect François relationship with his pupils. Within
the classthere are many different cultures and many different backgrounds which at
times causes unrest between the classmates and the teacher. The schoolis in the 20th
arrondissement of Paris an area on the outskirts of the city which is known to be a
more working class area. Throughout this essay I will focus on how Entre les murs
represents the relationship between the teacher and the class through these factors of
social class and the teachers attitude.
In today s society, the relationship between teacher and pupil is widely
acknowledged to be an extremely professional one. According to an online article,
The Positive Teacher Student Relationships, there are certain characteristics which
make up a good teacher pupil relationship. Good communications, respect in a
classroom...interest in teaching from the point of view of the teacher and learning
from a student will establish a positive relationship in the classroom. In Entre les
Murs, François tries to establish this kind of relationship with his class, but he
finds it difficult as the class are not all willing to engage with him. At times he is
very pessimistic. François does not have high hopes for his class, he does not think
they are willing to strive to achieve great things therefore he teachers them the basic,
bland school work and does not attempt to encourage and engage them. We see an
example of this in
Wound Care Education
Wound Care Education
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to identify a patient health issue that would benefit from
patient education. During the clinical rotation at Jackson South the group identified
a need in wound care especially for patients with other underlying health issues such
as diabetes. A large percentage of patients had wounds that would require patients to
properly care for them once discharged. The group identified a lack of patient
knowledge on how to care for these wounds and decided to develop a patient
education pamphlet to teach patients how to care for wounds while not in a hospital
setting. The group identified one particular patient that had insufficient knowledge in
self care.

As well as explain to J.G. other health behaviors that will contribute to the healing
process. It is important for J.G. to have the proper nutrition because it will aid
healing as well as managing his blood sugar since he s diabetic. Since he is
diabetic and is susceptible to loss of sensation and circulation, it is important that
he wears loose shoes and shoes that protect the toes from friction and hitting
objects. Mobility is also a significant factor (Heller, 2014). If J.G. cannot get out of
bed and walk a round, it is important for his daughter to turn him ever 2 hours to
avoid pressure ulcers from forming. J.G. has a history of wound infection. If there is
any presence of pus or bleeding, excessive pain, or odor, the wound may be infected.
It is essential that J.G. and his daughter know what signs may indicate infection and
that they call their health care provider if infection is suspected. If infection develops
it can have a great impact on the wound healing process and can lead to
hospitalization (Grothie amp; Ousey, 2014). This can lead to chronic wounds.
Chronic wounds are slow to heal and take over 6 weeks. Chronic wounds might
need a referral to a wound clinic. A wound clinic will help the patient develop a
healing plan and monitor the size and progress of the wound. In part of patient
education it is important to refer to additional resources outside of the hospital setting
(Heller, 2014). The ultimate goal for J.G. and his daughter is
Cognitive Bias In Health Care
In the United States alone, approximately 20% of Americans experience a mental
illness in a given year, and 1 in 25 Americans live with a serious mental illness that
significantly impacts one or more life activities (NAMI.org, 2015). These disorders
span across the lifetime, many starting by the age of 14, and mental healthcare is
often the root of progress or hindrance for a person whose life is impacted by these
unseen disorders. Though it is not always evident that an individual is experiencing
mental illness, these complications influence the daily lives of millions of people
worldwide, regardless of age, culture, race, religion, or other delineation. As a result,
it is vital that this sector of healthcare be thoroughly examined for inefficiencies,...

The availability heuristic is the tendency to consider events more common than
they really are if they come to mind quickly or easily (Croskerry, 2002). Though the
recency of seeing a disorder does not increase the base rate of its occurrence, faulty
cognitions result in providers thinking this way. This bias appeared in a study
exploring how likely a doctor was to say that a patient had bacteremia. In this
study, the doctors judged this disease as much more probable if they had recent
experience treating it, despite the base rate of infection being the same in either
case. What first came to mind was not necessarily most accurate, but most salient
(Klein, 2005). Particularly affected are specialized practices. Because a provider
sees a specific disorder frequently, it is commonly most salient and more likely to
lead to the availability bias. This heuristics poses a particular threat in ambiguous
cases; the diagnosis received may depend solely on which provider evaluated the
patient first (Saposnik, Redelmeier, Ruff, Tobler,
Jva Corporation

.Performance, as well as revenue, is reviewed every 6 months. This way it allows
JVA Corp. to cut or increases pay every 6 months and review its bottom line.
Employees can also benefit by having the opportunity to earn pay raises potentially
twice a year, rather than the typical annual reviews.
I t is my firm believe that to achieve the reduction of the percentage of revenue that
is allotted to employee s compensation from 8% to 5% without it having a big
demoralizing effect on its employees JVA Corp. needs to make strategically costs
cuts that allow the corporation to continue offering its employees rewards and pay
raises for their good performance. I feel that this is essential to our organizations

Bonuses should continue to be handed out to a lesser percentage of the top
employees if it was given to the top 20% employees it should be reduced to only 10%
of the top performers. Bonus amounts should stay the same until the tough economic
times have past.
Amenities that are already offered on the worksite should not be taken away
because this will have a direct impact on employees feeling about the company, but
no new ones should be added until it is determined that the organization is on track
to being profitable again. Gym memberships should still discounts should continue
to be offered because not only does it help employees release stress and stay in
shape; it also has the potential to save the company a lot of money on healthcare
costs. Phone bill discounts will only be given to managers and people who perform
above average about 80% of the workforce will receive a lower discount on their
personal phone bill or will be taken away for economic reason. It is important to let
employees know why you are taking this steps, letting them know that it is necessary
to take them for the company to stay in business will be of great help when it comes
to them being disgruntled.
To conclude I believe that by taking all the steps mentioned above JVA Corp. Should
have no trouble achieving its reduction of employee s compensation from 8% to 5%.
This reduction should be accomplished
Theme Of Sin And Redemption In The Kite Runner
In Khaled Hosseini s Kite Runner, Amir says I became what I am today at the age
of twelve... But it s wrong what they say about the past, I ve learned, about how
you can bury it. Because the past claws its way out. Looking back now I realise I
have been peeking into that deserted alley for the last twenty six years... It was my
past of unatoned sins . Sinis like an albatross around ones neck and atonement is the
only way to redeem oneself. This means that when one commits a sin, they are
burdened with guilt and the only way to get rid of this burden and attain peace and
redemption is to atone for one s sins. Same was the case with Amir, his past full of
unatoned sins kept haunting him even when he had tried to move on in life. And
finally after... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Amir from The Kite Runner had committed the sin of not standing up for a friend
and then lying about it. However, his past sins caught up to his present day
pretentious living. Similar was the case with Kunti, she never accepted Karna as her
son, however in the end repentance led her to acceptance. Dimmesdale, just like Amir
was a coward who did not stand up for those loyal to him and accept his sins.
However Dimmesdale lived a contrite and torturous life to punish himself. Briony and
Amir were both of tender age when they committed their sins but guilt took them on
the right path of atonement, so they could redeem
Psalm 23 And 1
The two Psalms that really hit home to me were Psalm 23 and Psalm 1. They both
give me a new understanding about the life us Christians should be living. I can
relate to these Palms the most because I feel like I have find myself in some of these
situations. Psalm 23 and 1 Helped me with my relationship with God, relationship
with others, and help understand who I am. The Lord tells us that he is my shepherd.
This verse tells me that God will take care of me like a shepherd would take care of
his flock. God understand that we are going to have low points in our life, and we
need to pray to the Lord for comfort. If we take a look around, we have received so
many blessing from the Lord. We have found peace in the Lord. God has forgiven us

Annie John And Sugar Cane Alley Essay
In Annie John and Sugar Cane Alley, the three main forces that alienate Annie and
Jose are their individual perspectives on the world, their separate journeys away
from home, and the stories told to them by their elders. These three forces combine
to isolate Annie and Jose from their pasts. In the novel, Annie John retains a very
Eurocentric perspective on the world around her, while Jose Hassam from the
movie Sugar Cane Alley has a viewpoint centered around his experiences from his
life in Black Shack Alley. In the chapter Somewhere Belgium, Annie tells of her
daydreams of leaving Antigua, saying they now involved scenes of [her] living
alone in Belgium, a place [she] had picked when [she] read one of [her] favorite
books that Charlotte... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Annie leaves Antigua and is sailing on the ship towards England, she relates
the waves hitting the side of the ship to an unexpected sound, as if a vessel filled
with liquid had been placed on its side and was now slowly emptying out (Kincaid
148). This comparison shows how deeply her journey to England is affecting her
life, draining her of the troubles and burdens of Antigua and leaving her with
space for new memories to take hold and for her to shape her new persona in this
life. Similarly, Jose s new home in Fort de France has changed his life for the
better, as he receives a better education that will lead him to better opportunities
later. In their notebooks at school, their teacher asks them to write the statement
Learning is the key that opens the second door to our freedom (Sugar Cane Alley
film). The metaphorical door in this sentence represents the paths that the students
will take to gain better opportunities in their lives, and is paved by a good
education, which Jose receives in Fort de France. Both Jose and Annie have opened
this metaphorical door of life that will lead them down the roads to happiness and
Irish And World War I
Ireland has many famous pieces of poetry that reflect the rich history of the country.
Many of these classic poems were written during the period known as, The Troubles
and during the events leading up to this period. Most notably, the several failed
uprisings against the British and World War I. Irelandhas a history of being divided
about who should rule the country. The division can be divided into two groups, one
group being the Unionists and, the other being the Nationalists. These two groups are
extremely different in viewpoints regarding religion and most notably opposing
views on government issues. In fact, the two groups views on government issues is
what gives each group its name. The Unionists believe in having a union with Great
Britain while, the Nationalists believe in one united Ireland without British
interference. These two viewpoints have representation in classic Irish poetry as well
as the events which brought this division amongst the people. The opposing
viewpoints between the Irish peoplebefore The Troubles are expressed the best in the
poems, September 1913 by William Butler Yeats, and Ulster 1912 by Rudyard
Kipling. Yeats view can be compared to Nationalists who wanted independence from
Great Britain. He even went as far as to use his poem as a political statement to call
his fellow Irish peers into action. Romantic Ireland s dead and gone/It s with O Leary
in the grave ( Yeats 7 8). O Leary was a great leader in an uprising for
Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment
Rheumatoid arthritis treatment is primarily aimed at symptom relief, as there is no
cure for this disease. The medicines reduce pain and inflammation in the joints and
slow down further progress of the disease. Physical and occupational therapy teaches
you to protect the joints. And surgery is done when the joints are damaged severely
because of the disease.
Medicines for RA sometimes carry serious side effects. Therefore, doctors prefer
medicines having fewest side effects at the initial stage, but as the disease progresses,
stronger medicines can be given by the doctor.
Initial medicine given in RA is usually non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, or
NSAIDs. RA being an autoimmune disease, it is caused by the confusion of white
blood cells ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are azathioprine, cyclosporine and cyclophosphamide. Another important group
of medicines among the rheumatoid arthritis treatment is TNF inhibitors. Tumor
Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF ) is an inflammatory chemical produced in the body. TNF
inhibitors reduce inflammation, pain, stiffness, tenderness and swelling of joints.
They are etanercept, infliximab and adalimumab. Several other drugs like anakinra,
abatacept and rituximab too are used to treat RA.
Other form of the treatment of RA is occupational therapy, through which you learn
to do everyday tasks without applying stress to your painful joints. It mainly consists
of learning the use of other body parts to do the task if a particular organ cannot do it
due to pain.
Various assistive devices too can be used in this treatment, like a cane for giving
support while walking, wheeled stools and trash cans which are easy to push,
doorknob extenders, Velcro fasteners, tabs for zippers etc.
Sometimes, due to delay in diagnosis or some other reason, the disease progresses to
the extent of damaging the joints. In such condition, surgery can be helpful to restore
the damaged joint. It contains procedures like total joint replacement of arthroplasty,
tendon repair, removal or joint lining or synovectomy and joint fusion or
Greek Religion And Public Life In Ancient Greece
The Greek people had many things they were proud of for evolving as their era
began to pick up steam. The things they were well known for were their religious
beliefs and their philosophies. Though both were pivotal for the Greek people, these
two areas were very different.
Greek Religion To the Greeks, religion, was a major part of their private and public
life every day. Greek religion was big on public rituals, community festivals, showed
great community pride, and was big on their heritage. Their religion was more public
than private. Their religion was divided up into two categories. The Olympian deities
whom they felt dwelled in the skies or mountaintops. Olympian religion felt that the
deities intercede in daily activities, and that
Analysis Of John Updike s A P
Analyzing any literary piece can be hard to do. Knowing the right tools to analyze
the work can make it tremendously easier. A good tool to know is the Schools of
Criticism or Critical Theories. These occur when groups of critics come together
and declare allegiance to a similar core of beliefs. Once they do, they ask a
particular set of questions about the literary work. Each different way of analyzing
brings up different sets of questions. There are a total of seven different schools. John
Updikes short storyA P, would be analyzed best using the school of New Criticism
and analyzing Sammy s experience throughout the day. New Criticism is the work s
overall meaning depending on the text in front of the reader. In high school or in
freshman college classes this is how most students are taught to analyze works of
literature. When readers use this school readers can evaluate tone, point of view,
themes, ironies, figures of speech, imagery, ambiguities, paradoxes, word usage and
meaning, connotation, allusions, symbols, and the relationship between the title and
the text. Analyzing these concepts will allow the reader to understand the author
emotionally and physically.
When the reader analyzes Sammy s journey they are using the school of
structuralism. Joseph Campbell came up with the idea to look at the Hero s journey.
There are three parts to the hero s journey; the departure, the initiation, and the return.
Using both of these schools will allow the reader to gain
The Effects Of Playing Games On The Classroom Essay
When I was a teenager, I loved playing games and it was the common interest I
shared with my friends. Yet our interest and enjoyment in gameplay did not always
give us pleasant experiences. Playing games were considered to be waste of times
and looked down upon by parents, school teachers, or even other students. When the
events of gamerelated social problems occurred, we had to overcome severe
criticisms from the others. For example, in my middle school, one teacher
criticized students for playing games and blamed them for dropping the average
score of the class when my class ranked last in final exam. Some of the students
questioned the logics for his regular derogation for the game. Rather than educative
response or constructive conversation, they were confronted with the call to the
teacher s office and punishment of an apology letter after school. I was one of the
students who had to write ten pages of apology letter. When I finally finished and
went back home, I had a serious conversation with the parents about my friends and
our interests in games. Even though playing games was my favorite activity, it was
also a big cause of problems in my childhood. The fact that my mother does not know
to this day that I was a Star Craft representative of my middle school senior class for
the student association tournament.

Freedom Of Speech In Public Nuisance Law
Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without
being lost. Thomas Jefferson is stating that the press cannot be limited or there
would be no freedom. The Saturday press , is a prime example of newspaper with a
loud voice about corruption. Furthermore, Minnesota passed the Public Nuisance
Law or known as the, press gag law . Freedom of speechis constitutionally or right to
say what we please as the people of America.
To begin with, Mr. Near the publisher of The Saturday press, has created a
newspaper devoted to the corruptions of society. This one of a kind newspaper had its
focus on police and government corruption. Judges called it a nuisance , and racist,
anti labor, anti sematic, and finally, anti Catholic . Minnesota courts ended The
Saturday Press from publishing any future editions.
Time In The Great Gatsby
The concept of time is mentioned in The Great Gatsby at least 450 times, through
character names, nouns, and occurrences. Time being such a heavily focused on
subject in the novel shows how focused F. Scott Fitzgerald was on showing the
positives and negatives of making time an important aspect of how life is perceived
and lived. Fitzgerald s outlook on timeis one of longing and regret, portrayed in
Gatsby s persona, actions, and hopefulness.
Gatsby is born a poor man with not much to show for himself in his early life, until
he meets a rich young lady who flips his world upside down. Daisy shows Gatsby
her love built on broken promises as she promises to marry him once he comes
home from Oxford but ends up marrying Tom Buchanan before Gatsby can be home
to stop the wedding. Once Gatsby realizes this as he returns home, he shapes his life
around doing nothing but creating a world that would bring Daisy back into his arms
just like their younger days. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is insinuated that Gatsby did not make his money in the most ethical way when
Tom shares that he found what your drug stores were and explains that Gatsby and
Wolfsheim purchased side street drug stores and sold alcohol over the counter,
which was illegal at the time (Fitzgerald 100). Gatsby covers this scheme up with
talk of inheriting his money from old family, but is not very consistent in his lies,
as Nick notices him use several different answers at separate times. I think he
hardly knew what he was saying when I asked him what business he was in he
answered, That s my affair before he realized that it wasn t the appropriate reply
(Fitzgerald 103). While Gatsby may have been successful in his illegal money affairs,
this does not mean his efforts were not wasted on someone unworthy of the time and
money

Descriptive Essay On Nantucketu
I am fortunate enough to live on the beautiful island of Nantucket. Growing up here
in such a close knit community, has put me aside from your average high schooler
in the best way possible. Nantucket is full of incredible wildlife and conservation
land that is so unique it looks untouched. Wintertime, when all the summer people
leave, you know everybody on the island. It s literally impossible to drive through
town without seeing a familiar face. But by the time summer comes the island
explodes with electricity that s unlike anywhere else. Massive yachts pack our tiny
harbor and enormous private jets fill the airport on the weekends. Having such a
drastic change is something that makes Nantucketso unique. Personally, I don t have
a favorite season, Nantucket is perfect year round and that s why I feel so blessed
to call it home. When the days are shorter and the water is colder the tourists are
driven away, leaving a small community, one of the greatest communities on the
planet. So close that when someone dies it can affect the whole island. The best
feature Nantucket has to offer is how the locals come together and help others in
need. When something happens, news travels fast and everyone knows. Having a
small community also makes our sports teams closer, we have no choice but to play
together. We spend a lot more time together than other teams, every away game we
have to take a boat then a school bus to the game. Doing that gets us more
comfortable with each other

How significant was the involvement of the League of Nations/United Nations and
Britain in the development of the Arab Israeli conflict? The time period before and
after the Arab Israeli conflict will be the focus of this investigation. This question
was intriguing due to the possibility of the League of Nations causing tension
rather than promoting peace. In order to explore the effect the League of Nations
/United Nations had on the Arab Israeli conflict, both primary and secondary
sources will be necessary. Primary sources will include diaries, books, and
propaganda. Secondary sources such as history books or reports will be needed
for their analysis on the factors involved in the conflict. Source A Cannon, Martin.
20th Century World History: Course Companion. Oxford: Oxford University
Press, 2009. Source A is a book titled, 20th Century World History. This book
contained information regarding the League of Nations and their role in the Arab
Israeli conflict. This source is credible because it is a history book from which
students are taught, and the information in the book is cross checked by multiple
authors. The source of origin is valuable because it lays out the facts and shows the
involvement of the League of Nations in the Arab Israeli conflict. The book itself is a
secondary source, however it includes primary sources, making it valuable for this
investigation. The primary

  • 2. Gallaudet s Accomplishments Congratulations, you have just graduated from high school. This is the first time in your life where you have a chance to make life altering decisions. One can decide from going to college or going to work, going to a two year university or taking some time off to travel. For many, the next step after graduating high schoolwould be going to college. What happened if one was deaf or hard of hearing and wanted to go to college and receive higher education? Gallaudet University was a pioneering school that led to many changes not only within the deaf community but also in the United States as a whole. For those who were deaf in the United States during the 1800s, it was very difficult to get any education, and higher education was practically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I had a change to contact a BSU representative through email and they answered a few questions. One of the things I wanted to know was about the diversity at Gallaudet, not only race but in general. The response I got was explaining that Gallaudet is extremely open when it comes to the LGBT community. When it comes to race there have been some instances in which the BSU representative believe that race played a role, but these events are very minimal and should not discourage minority students from attending Gallaudet. One thing that they did note was that because this is a majority deaf university, students come here because they want to be surrounded by other students like them, who are deaf. Something else that I was interested in asking about was the nightlife. I got mixed reviews because again, I was emailing the BSU organization as a whole. Some believed that they had good nightlife activities on campus, some students went off campus a lot more, but others did not like going off campus. The reason some students do not like going off campus is because it is hard for them to communicate with those who are hearing. The other thing I wanted to know about was BSU in general. I was curious if Xavier s Black Student Association (BSA) was similar to Gallaudet s BSU. The simple answer to that question is yes. Both BSA and BSU have similar program types, focusing on race and how minorities are

  • 5. Persuasive Essay On Legalization Of Marijuana The dispute regarding weed, more formally known as Cannabis Sativa, has been a topic of discussion throughout the years as people can t seem to come to a conclusion about it. One side of the argument claims that people are addicted to this drug and its destroying brain cells of the users, and other people claim it not to be as overbearing as other drugs and it is harmless to use. Upon further research the answer is simple. Weed indeed proves to be beneficial and should not be prohibited or illegal. Society shames Cannabissmokers because it is inhaled the same way as tobacco, and those that are against it have developed the notion that it is bad for people s health. However, society fails to realize that Marijuana s effects are helpful and not any different from any other drug as it fights off illnesses, lacks addictive chemicals and qualities, can be used productively, and legalization makes it challenging for children to obtain it. Before delving into the positives of using marijuana, people need to consider the successful people that have made it where to prosperous positions despite Marijuana consumption. According to a Huffington Post article, Maya Angelou, Martha Stewart, Morgan Freeman, Ted Turner, Michael Bloomberg, and even Rush Limbaugh are all high functioning marijuana users (Jacques). Under the influence of Marijuana, similar to alcohol, people react differently to their high. In the scenario of these wealthy people, they found a way to use weed to increase
  • 6. How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of A Snowstorm This painting is about a lower class family that is going through a snowstorm in the middle of the winter to survive instead of just staying inside the warm house. This painting is called the snowstorm and was painted by Francisco Goya to illustrate a lighter but still hard time in life. This painting is about a family out in a snowstorm and illustrates a lot about the character of the family with the hardships that they went through, along with the desperation and willpower to survive. While the family is out in the middle of the snowstorm they have many hardships to deal with. The family is all grouped together in the middle of the painting with their jackets wrapped around them and their heads facing down to keep warm with snow in every direction of them as if they don t want to travel. This shows that the family is cold and, yet they have to face the hardship of the winter. The tree next to the family is severely swayed to the right the branch in front of the family was broken off from the tree and laying on the ground showing how hard it was to face the cold and wind of the storm. A dog is in front of the family at attention on all four feet with the dog s paw prints trailing the dog showing that the family is moving in the direction away from the prints. There is a dead pig draped across and the back of a mule and tied down to it, along with a man on the left side has a gun in between his arms tucked into his body as if he is the one who hunts the food for the family.

It is not supposed to be associated with one s actual behavior (Uziel 202), but, rather, impression management is the image people portray of themselves by the use of behaviors to intentionally regulate the impressionsthat observers have of oneself (Lewis and Neighbors 470). Patricia M. Rodriguez et al. claim that people will present themselves in ways they believe will produce positive rewards and will help them accomplish their goals (403), but different goals require different self presentations. Thus, people must alter their impression managementin pursuance of achieving their social objective. Mark R. Leary and Ashley Batts Allen claim that people do not interact with others but rather make their own impressions of that person (889). In other words, people go by their mental representations and inferences they make about a person s character instead of who the person really is. In order to control others impression of them, people may use manipulation and deceptionin their impression management to present a favorable image of themselves. As a way to influence the perception of others on themselves, people may use a strategy of being untruthful in their achievements and behaviors that provide them with a mechanism to manufacture a positive outward image (Tyler and Feldman

By utilizing these methods, children are taught to stop and think about their actions in a rational manner and incorporate and apply their lessons on empathy into their decision making (Frey, et al. 2000). Another study on adolescents from America and Croatia was done in order to determine if cultural immersion was an effective way to reduce prejudice and ethnic hostility. An undisclosed number of American teenager ages varying from 12 20, ranging from African American to Asian to Latino were bonded with an equal number of Croatian youths of about the same age for 24 hours a day for a little over a month. Results showed that cultural immersion among the adolescents seemed to gear them away from an us vs. them mentality. The China Plant uses a Chinese shipping company that offers services comparable to FedEx, but is less expensive. Orders are also shipped internationally by either FedEx or a Chinese shipping company that competes with FedEx. Two shipping companies are used by the China Plant for international shipments to assure that timely delivery services will always be available. Wal Mart has also come across logistics problems due to poor roads and the scarcity of delivery trucks. Yet another problem was the culture clashes between the Arkansas executive and the Mexican managers. Some of these problems were solved by trial and error, but the emergence of the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1994 helped solve most of the problems. Among other things, NAFTA reduced tariffs on American goods sold to Mexico from 10 percent to 3 percent. Prior to NAFTA, Wal Mart was not much of a threat to companies like Comerci, Gigante, and Soriana, Mexico s top retailers. But once the agreement was signed, the barriers fell and Wal Mart was on a level playing field with its competitors which was all it needed to become number one. NAFTA encouraged Mexico to improve its transportation infrastructure, thus helping to solve Wal Mart s logistical problems. The signing of NAFTA also opened wider gates to foreign investment in Mexico. Wal Mart was paying huge import fees on goods shipped to Mexican areas like Europe and Asia. Foreign companies knew that if they built manufacturing plants in Mexico, they could keep costs low with Mexican labor but ship to NAFTA s free trade zone, Mexico, the United States, or Canada. As companies began to build manufacturing plants, in Mexico, Wal Mart could buy these products without paying the high import tariffs. Society has supplied them with a false hope of making their own choice when they turn sixteen. When they do turn sixteen, they must take an aptitude test and attend the choosing ceremony. The aptitude tests place the teens in simulations of situations that are meant to tell them where they fit the best in society, and generally the teens only receive one faction that best fits them. In Tris case she received three different factions as possible choices and was told to keep her results a secret because this rarely happened and she would be in danger if the people in power found out. This breaks the mold of Bildungsroman because Tris society has inadvertently given her more than one option showing that there isn t just one place she can be useful but
  • 36. Computer Security As A Critical Problem For Computer Systems ABSTRACT Over the past decade computer networks have rapid growth, but the computer security became a critical problem for computer systems. Thus in the recent years various soft computing technique based methods were proposed to detects the growth of intrusion. Also many researchers have reported that the large set of pattern classifications and machine learning algorithms are trained and testing is made on the knowledge discovery data intrusion detection dataset is unsuccessful in finding the remote to local attacks and user to root attacks. Moreover Hyperbolic Hopfield Neural Network(HHNN) based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) detection stability, detection ratio, particularly low frequent attacks are still required to be improved. Thus this paper proposes a new method known as K Medoids HNNN using the technique HHNN and K Medoids clustering. This system achieves the higher intrusion detection rate, detection stability and less false positive rate. At first the proposed system implements the K Medoids clustering technique on the various training subsets. Afterwards a mono HHNN model is trained using the different training subsets to detect the intrusion. The experimental results shows the K Medoids HHNN approach achieve better results rather than other framework. Keywords: Network Security, Intrusion Detection System, Hyperbolic Hopfield Neural Network, K Medoids Clustering approach 1. INTRODUCTION In the last decades, the computer network systems are very

Through research examined from multiple different sources the important positive influences a dog can provide include an increase in mental health, social health, and physical health. By acquiring a relationship with a doga person can seek out meaningful companionship that they are not obtaining from being in a humanrelationship (Kurdek, 2009). One reason a person may turn to a dog for company is due to a recent loss of a loved one (Kurdek, 2009). In a study by Kurdek (2009) it was shown that dogs could help people in an elderly carefacility by providing them with social interactions. The social interactions created helped the elderly with mental and social health, but the interactions with the dog also improved their physical health. In a study by Martin, Wood, Christian, and Trapp (2015) it was shown that owning a dog creates the obligation to walk the dog daily. With the increase in physical activity Martin et al. observed an increase in mental and social health of the subjects results from their study. Importance of the Family Dog For many of centuries dogs have been an essential part of many people s lives. There are old sayings like dogs are man s best friend, and 33% of Canadian homes own at least one dog (Perrin, 2009). • 38. Analysis Of Entre Les Murs Laurent Cantet s Entre les murs is a contemporary French film based on the novel by FranГ§ois Begaudea. The film gives us an insight into the French education system and more specifically the life of FranГ§ois Marin a high school literature teacher in France. Francois day to day life of being a school teacher in a working class area of Paris is portrayed to us throughout the film and we are introduced to the struggle he faces of dealing with boisterous teenagers who are uninspired and unwilling to work. The film deals with the relationship between the teacher and the pupils and this relationship is determined by several factors. The pessimistic attitude of the teacher and the difference in social classbetween the teacher and the students are two of the main issues which affect FranГ§ois relationship with his pupils. Within the classthere are many different cultures and many different backgrounds which at times causes unrest between the classmates and the teacher. The schoolis in the 20th arrondissement of Paris an area on the outskirts of the city which is known to be a more working class area. Throughout this essay I will focus on how Entre les murs represents the relationship between the teacher and the class through these factors of social class and the teachers attitude. In today s society, the relationship between teacher and pupil is widely acknowledged to be an extremely professional one. According to an online article, The Positive Teacher Student Relationships, there are certain characteristics which make up a good teacher pupil relationship. Good communications, respect in a classroom...interest in teaching from the point of view of the teacher and learning from a student will establish a positive relationship in the classroom. In Entre les Murs, FranГ§ois tries to establish this kind of relationship with his class, but he finds it difficult as the class are not all willing to engage with him. At times he is very pessimistic. FranГ§ois does not have high hopes for his class, he does not think they are willing to strive to achieve great things therefore he teachers them the basic, bland school work and does not attempt to encourage and engage them. We see an example of this in

During the clinical rotation at Jackson South the group identified a need in wound care especially for patients with other underlying health issues such as diabetes. A large percentage of patients had wounds that would require patients to properly care for them once discharged. The group identified a lack of patient knowledge on how to care for these wounds and decided to develop a patient education pamphlet to teach patients how to care for wounds while not in a hospital setting. Since he is diabetic and is susceptible to loss of sensation and circulation, it is important that he wears loose shoes and shoes that protect the toes from friction and hitting objects. Mobility is also a significant factor (Heller, 2014). If J.G. cannot get out of bed and walk a round, it is important for his daughter to turn him ever 2 hours to avoid pressure ulcers from forming. J.G. has a history of wound infection. If there is any presence of pus or bleeding, excessive pain, or odor, the wound may be infected. It is essential that J.G. and his daughter know what signs may indicate infection and that they call their health care provider if infection is suspected. If infection develops it can have a great impact on the wound healing process and can lead to hospitalization (Grothie amp; Ousey, 2014). This can lead to chronic wounds. Chronic wounds are slow to heal and take over 6 weeks. Chronic wounds might need a referral to a wound clinic. A wound clinic will help the patient develop a healing plan and monitor the size and progress of the wound. In part of patient education it is important to refer to additional resources outside of the hospital setting (Heller, 2014). The ultimate goal for J.G. and his daughter is

Cognitive Bias In Health Care In the United States alone, approximately 20% of Americans experience a mental illness in a given year, and 1 in 25 Americans live with a serious mental illness that significantly impacts one or more life activities (NAMI.org, 2015). These disorders span across the lifetime, many starting by the age of 14, and mental healthcare is often the root of progress or hindrance for a person whose life is impacted by these unseen disorders. Though it is not always evident that an individual is experiencing mental illness, these complications influence the daily lives of millions of people worldwide, regardless of age, culture, race, religion, or other delineation. The availability heuristic is the tendency to consider events more common than they really are if they come to mind quickly or easily (Croskerry, 2002). Though the recency of seeing a disorder does not increase the base rate of its occurrence, faulty cognitions result in providers thinking this way. This bias appeared in a study exploring how likely a doctor was to say that a patient had bacteremia. In this study, the doctors judged this disease as much more probable if they had recent experience treating it, despite the base rate of infection being the same in either case. What first came to mind was not necessarily most accurate, but most salient (Klein, 2005). Particularly affected are specialized practices. Because a provider sees a specific disorder frequently, it is commonly most salient and more likely to lead to the availability bias. This heuristics poses a particular threat in ambiguous cases; the diagnosis received may depend solely on which provider evaluated the patient first (Saposnik, Redelmeier, Ruff, Tobler,

A good tool to know is the Schools of Criticism or Critical Theories. These occur when groups of critics come together and declare allegiance to a similar core of beliefs. Once they do, they ask a particular set of questions about the literary work. Each different way of analyzing brings up different sets of questions. There are a total of seven different schools. New Criticism is the work s overall meaning depending on the text in front of the reader. When readers use this school readers can evaluate tone, point of view, themes, ironies, figures of speech, imagery, ambiguities, paradoxes, word usage and meaning, connotation, allusions, symbols, and the relationship between the title and the text. Analyzing these concepts will allow the reader to understand the author emotionally and physically. When the reader analyzes Sammy s journey they are using the school of structuralism. Joseph Campbell came up with the idea to look at the Hero s journey. There are three parts to the hero s journey; the departure, the initiation, and the return. Using both of these schools will allow the reader to gain
