The science which deals with the study of living objects is called Biology. Thus the subject involves the studies of all kinds of micro-organisms, plants and animals. Biology is related to mankind ever since the origin of man, therefore this branch of science stands first in order of studies as compared to other branches of science. Ever since the origin of life man is eager to know about various phenomenon of life processes such as health and disease, birth, growth and death. However, man depends on plants and animals for food, shelter and clothing which are immediate needs of life, come from Biology. Perhaps it was the elementary need of man to know about the living beings, so that maximum benefits can be drawn out of them. Though biology involves study of life, but now a days it is mostly centralised with the study of agriculture, animal husbandry, health and microbiology and related branches. Today study of any branch of science is not possible in isolation as it also involves principles of physics, chemistry and various other branches.

Science and motivation, what you want. When I was a kid I used to think that everything in life was possible, but now I dont think so. There are a lot of reasons to give up and to live. We, by ourselves decide our fate what to do and where. Once you start realising you are doing great, you wont be needing any more motivation or so. When I was a kid I had a dream to become an engineer, however I couldn't become one because of our school system. Youll say Im looking for reasons, but no. Our school really ruined everything in me.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2. MEANING
O Science is the field of study concerned with
discovering and describing the world around us
by observing and experimenting. Biology,
chemistry, and physics are all branches of science.
O The word Science comes from Latin word
"scientia" meaning "knowledge" and in the
broadest sense it is any systematic knowledge-base
or prescriptive practice capable of resulting in
prediction. Science can also be understood as a
highly skilled technique or practice.

3. DEFINITION
O “knowledge attained through study or practice“
O Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary
O A branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts
or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of
general laws: for example, mathematical science
O Systemic knowledge of the physical or material world gained
through observations and experimentation.
O Systematized knowledge in general
O Any of the particular branches of natural or physical sciences
O Knowledge of facts or principles; knowledge gained by systematic study
O Skill especially reflecting a precise application of facts or principle
O https://explorable.com/definition-of-science
4. Con…
O “Because ‘science’ denotes such a very wide range
of activities a definition of it needs to be general; it
certainly needs to cover investigation of the social
as well as natural worlds; it needs the words
“systematic” and “evidence”; and it needs to be
simple and short. The definition succeeds in all
these respects admirably, and I applaud it
therefore.”
O A C Grayling commending the definition in the
Guardian, March 2009

by scientists. This body of knowledge includes facts, concepts,
theories that are subject to error and change.
O Various types of scientific knowledge exist in the form of
O Facts
O Concepts, principles and laws
O Hypothesis and theories
O 2. Science is a dynamic body, not static
O Science is a dynamic body as it is always in search of truth and
scientific truth can never be taken as absolutely and permanently
true. Scientific information is constantly being re-arranged and re-
oriented in the light of the latest developments.
7. Con…
O 3. Science is a process as well as product
O Science as a process covers all the methods, all the ways facts are
established. The process involves the following activities
O Steps to accomplish a task
O Ways of doing work
O Planning various stages of an activity
O Establishing systematic steps for gathering and retaining information
4. Process
O In science, the ways of gathering data or information, thinking, measuring,
solving problems or in other words ways of learning science are called
“Process of Science”.
O The process of science gives rise to a number of products of knowledge
like facts, concepts, theories, laws and generalization. These products are
of great utility to human beings.
8. Con…
O Scientific knowledge is durable
O Although scientist rejects the idea of attaining absolute truth and accept
some uncertainty as part of nature, most scientific knowledge is durable.
Continuity and stability are as characteristics of science as change is and
confidence is as prevalent as tentativeness.
O 5. Science is based on scientific methodology
O The very nature of science involves a particularly methodical approach
towards it. These methods are observation and enquiry.

phenomena. Hence, Scientists concentrate on getting “ Accurate data”,
such evidence is obtained by observation and measurements taken in
situations that range from natural settings to completely artificial ones.
9. Con…
O 7. Science is a blend of logic and imagination
O Although all sorts of imagination and thought may be used in
coming up with hypotheses and theories, sooner or later scientific
arguments must conform to the principle of logical reasoning
O 9. Science explains and also predicts
O It is not enough for a scientific theory to fit only the observations
that are already known but theories also should fit additional
observation that was not used in formulating the theories in the
first place. i.e theories should have predictive power
O 10. Science is an enterprise
O Science as an enterprise has individual, social and institutional
dimensions. Other than that there are an infinite number of
characteristics of science as
10. Con…
O Scientific knowledge is holistic and humanistic
O Science is based on values of objectively
