• SBI is the oldest commercial bank in India &
  one of the Largest banks on earth in terms of
  branches, accounts etc
• The group has number of Associate companies
  & Subsidiaries, As of today it has assets more
  than 27 Lakh Crores
• SBI branch manager in Tenali, Mr Sridhar ,
  Thanks to the manager for taking his valuable
  time out & helping me in the study process
• As explained by the manager , SBI took an
  initiative to automate all the branches in mid 90`s
  and computerized all branches by 2005 with the
  help of Kindle Bank master .
• TCS is providing software for SBI to implement
  centralized trade finance system & The company
  is using SAP ERP to the needs of HCM and CRM
  processes.
• SBI`s TPS records all Personal Banking related day
  to day transactions which includes Cash Deposits
  , Loan Applications for Homes , Education ,
  Vehicular Financing etc
• SBI`s software details; Main Software – TCS BaNCS
  , Programming Language- COBOL, .NET on front end
  , Database – Oracle 9i
• SBI`s ATMs were connected to the Bankmaster branch
  system via a gateway PC, and ATM transactions were
  posted at the end of each day to Bankmaster.
• The branch records all transactions under the
  corporate sector & bank transactions under agricultural
  & rural sector( which includes Farmers loans , Micro
  finance detail, rural bank accounts)seperately.
• The bank manager must diligently analyze all the
  information and decide how much credit can be given
  to a particular company , party etc
• Other reports like List of defaulted loan
  repayments , Non moving accounts , Delays in
  crediting cheques etc
• SBI adopts real time banking i.e in many
  circumstances the primary factor is speed ,For
  example when a customer withdraws a sum of
  money from his/her account ,the transactions are
  processed and the account balance is updated as
  soon as possible allowing both the bank and
  customer to keep track of funds in real time.
• SBI allows the customer the option of online
  complaints ,when the customer submits the
  online complaint it is processed by Customer
  Service TPS to the concerned branch
• All the records of customers are stored in
  main server of SBI ,so incase if someone
  account balance is getting near to zero,the
  system automatically alert the customer &
  concerned branch about that.
• For online transactions , the process will be
  Input-Concerned branch code, city name,
  Account title & amount of transaction. This
  information will send to organization server
  and funds will be transferred. As required.
