1. Satire Essay Topics
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Satire Essay Topics" can be both challenging and intriguing.
Satire involves a unique blend of humor, wit, and criticism, making it essential for the writer to
navigate a delicate balance. The difficulty arises from the need to address serious issues while
maintaining a humorous tone, as satire often serves as a tool for social commentary.
Selecting appropriate satire essay topics requires a keen understanding of current events, societal
norms, and cultural nuances. It involves identifying subjects that are both relevant and can be
approached with a satirical lens. Additionally, the writer must be conscious of their audience to
ensure that the satire resonates effectively without causing unintended offense.
The challenge lies not only in creating a compelling narrative but also in employing literary
devices such as irony, exaggeration, and parody effectively. Striking the right chord between
amusement and critique demands a careful consideration of language and tone.
Moreover, the complexity of this task extends to the execution of a cohesive structure that
seamlessly integrates humor and insight. A successful satire essay should not only entertain but
also provoke thought, prompting readers to reflect on the underlying issues.
In conclusion, writing an essay on satire topics is a demanding endeavor that necessitates a
profound understanding of social dynamics, a refined sense of humor, and the ability to convey
meaningful messages through satire. It is an art that challenges the writer to weave a tapestry of

2. Mass Incarceration Of The United States
In the U.S. there has been a rise in incarcerations, the numbers today are much
higher than they were 30, 40 years ago despite the fact that crime is at historic lows.
So what are we to make of the leap in time typically served for crimes in America s
society? Either the justice system was too lenient in the past, or the justice system is
too strict now. Have we just now realized the real gravity of murder, or are we now
overreacting? The United States currently over incarcerates its citizens, prisoners
have become part of the economy, manufacturing and assembling products for major
corporations. Based on the research, it would be unethical to continue a trend of mass
incarceration when the conditions are unsustainable, inhumane, and the product of
unethical polices.
In the world because some crimes are more severe than others, human beings decided
that deprivation of liberty was the best form of punishment. The idea was to make
prison a system for corrections, rather than detention alone. These ideas soon
manifested in schools of philosophy and criminology were the notion was defended
that punishment should be more lenient only at the cost of the greater good and
aimed to change the behavior itself. Eventually these ideas gave birth to a new form
of incarcerations designed to deter both rise in crime and to reform, based on self
reflection over the prisoner s choices. Well then why are the incarcerations in the
United States so high one might ask? In the United States

It calc ulates a p lant wide overhead rate by dividing total overhead costs by total
direct labor hours. Assume, for the calculations below, that plant overhead is a
committed (fixed) cost during the year, but that direct labor is a variable cost.
Calculate the plant wide overhead rate. Use this rate to assign overhead costs to
products and calculate the profitability of the four products. The assignment

formulas already supplied.

4. Theme Of The Mother And Daughter Relationship In The
Joy...
Throughout The Joy Luck Club, one major theme that kept appearing was a mother
daughter relationship. The relationship between every daughter and their mother was
different, but all of the joy luck club members wanted their daughter to succeed. Each
mother cared for their daughter exceptionally so and even portrayed wanting their
daughter to have it much better than they ever did. For example, Lindo Jong and her
daughter, Waverly Jong, had an interesting relationship. Lindo always wanted
Waverly to strive in her childhood talent, chess. Waverly slowly built up anger
towards her motheras she would always try recommending strategies to use and ways
to attack during competition as well as treat Waverly as a trophy for her
achievements. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This points further to the conclusion that she didn t put her children first just as the
Joy Luck Club mothers did. In connection to the caring nature that was emphasized
throughout the novel, it is easy to compare it to my relationship with my mother.
Similar to Lindo, my mother is proud of me and shows that to the people around
her. Although Waverly was ashamed of it in the novel, I am grateful that mother
speaks so highly of me. In the novel, June s feelings about wanting to live up to her
mothers expectation were really strong. I feel the same way in wanting to show my
mom that I can go above and beyond what she expects from me. In conclusion, this
theme was displayed in every aspect of the novel and is easy to share experiences
with, but can even be shown in the worst ways of a relationship between a daughter
and a mother, just as the article brought to light.

The Two Sides The views we have are what shapes us, sometimes we have vast
knowledge of ideas. Other times we are limited in what we can understand. We are
given the choice of seeking out more of said idea or choosing to remain as is.
Cathedral by Raymond Carver is a story that gives us a look into what it is like to
have our views challenged through experiencing them first hand. We are introduced
to the story by narration and we are given a brief summary of how his wife and the
blind man had met from the narrrator. We learn that the blind man is named Robert,
he is the only characterthat is named and described in the story. After the exchange of
greetings and very detailed description of the dinner they all enjoyed Robert and...

assumptions on how pitiful it must have been for his wife to never know the

felt sorry for the blind man for a little bit. And then I found myself thinking what a
pitiful life this woman must have led. Imagine a woman who could never see
herself as she was seen in the eyes of her loved one. Carver (p.3) Through the

television in silence, a documentary about cathedrals airs on the television

asks the narrator to describe one to him. As he attempts to describe the cathedrals our
characters are starting to form this bond. After failing miserably Robert then asks if
he and the narrator can draw a Cathedral together. As they draw we as readers start
becoming more aware of the change happening within the narrator. The narrator keeps

6. Customer Management System ( Cms )
The biggest benefit most businesses realize when moving to a Customer
Management System (CMS) is the act of directly having all your business data
stored and accessed from a single location. Past habits would spread customer data
in various office spaces and file rooms, email systems, and even Post it note entries.
Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin all saw the value in storing all data in
a central location, giving management and employee s immediate access to data.
Also, Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin each were able to strengthen
collaboration from within the company with the more efficient automated processes.
By providing a full view of all customer information, knowledge of what customers
and the general market wants, and integration with existing applications to
consolidate all business information in one common location for mass usage.
Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin each have invested in various ways to
support an effective Customer Management System. During Cargill s Annual
Business Planning process, quarterly business reviews, and sales and product line
meetings, leaders evaluate organization processes. Data collection and storage is a
key focus during this evaluation period. Cargill Corn Milling decided to deploy
several applications to collect and transfer customer knowledge with touch points
shared using a database system supported by MasterCard (Cargill Corn Milling,
2008). Cargill s sales and customer service
7. Social Security Benefits Of The United States
The messed up status of the existing healthcare system is so much wanting. Medicaid
killed the market forces and Medicare initiated by the government where the
insurance given is of poor quality and over taxed on the workers who are the
contributors (Mitchell, 2013). This also brought about over insurance, which is not
proportional to the service rendered to the contributors when they fall ill. This is all
problematic and uneconomical to them (Mitchell, 2013). The various invented forms
of mediation led to many problems, such as increasing prices and incomprehensible
complexity, and many people blamed that the private and free market healthcare
(Mitchell, 2013). Social Security benefits enactment will be a big boost to the
workers welfare and saving on the taxes they pay with the elimination of the other
existing inefficient schemes (Smith Couch, 2014). Obama care, endorsed in 2010,
perceived to course paradigm shifting revolution in healthcare structure. This has not
solved the problems and there for there is a need to revisit our policies and come up
with a workable program that will solve the existing problems (Mitchell, 2013). In
conclusion, Obama care scheme cannot eliminate the existing problems. We need an
elaborate scheme to solve this problem completely. Social Security benefits program
bears the solution. Limitation of the program study Having to implement this new
scheme, there are few shortcomings encountered but bearable. Amongst them, is the
competition

9. Characteristics Of Teen Activist
What qualities create a teen activist? Is it their utter devotion to their cause? Their
sacrifice of personal time and possibly their safety? Or, is it the way that they will
work long hours on weekends while others are relaxing or watching Tv? The answer
is all of them. A teen activist is a young personwho will fight for a cause for the
better of the community/world. They often make many sacrifices and endanger
themselves to others who disagree with their cause, yet they keep fighting. These
teens are willing to do whatever it takes for the benefit of people in need, and that s
what makes them so admirable.
Often times, when something is wrong, an activist cannot help but to respond.
This longing to make a difference is one of the key qualities in an influential
activist. For example, a completely ordinary teen named Alex Lin came across an
article about e waste in the Wall Street journal. In a video interview he says Every
long journey starts with a short step (https://www.youtube.com
/watch?v=Weqt0N0vxH4). That is very true, because from then on, his interest and
passion kept growing. He spent hours collecting old electronics and managed to
recycle 20,00 pound of e waste that day. He formed a team and devoted his time to
get a law passed in his city banning e waste dumping. He still continues his journey
and has built media centers in other parts of the world in his quest to eliminate e
waste. But, just like many others, he won t stop there. He
11. Feminism During World War I
On July 28th of 1914, the first global war began. This war commonly referred to as
World War I, lasted until November 11th, 1918 and resulted in the deaths of over
eight million combatants and civilians. This war is regarded one of the deadliest
conflicts in history and led to many political changes and smaller breakout
revolutions. Beginning with an internal war between Austria Hungary and Serbia,
this war eventually grew to include thirty two nations from all across the globe.
The start of this war is due to the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the archduke of
Austria Hungary by Gavrilo Princip, a Serbian Nationalist who was a part of a
military group referred to as the Black Hand. Following this act, Austria Hungary

Even for men, who were qualified for such educational opportunities, being
engulfed in the work force by their early teens, meant they too were not able to take
advantage of a further education. Feminism, a movement that began in the late
1840s began to recirculate into the lives of many modern women. They were
striving to earn the many basic rights present to men such as the right to vote, and
more opportunities to furthering education and access to jobs. This perseverance
and determination led to an increase in employed women in the United States from
2.6 million to 7.8 million during the late 1800s to early 1900s. Even though
women were being employed, and were given the opportunity to work, they still
would not be eligible for more laborious and higher paying positions, all of these
would go to their male counterparts. This along with the right to vote, were key
figures in the Women s Suffrage Movement, a movement for women s rights overall
that began in the late 1840s. Through the movement s work, women had gained the
right to vote in four states Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, and Utah by 1896. Women
soon became aware of their power in groups, and seeked to form unions in various
cities and towns where they would create agendas and attempt to get their thoughts
across. Women worked to get access to better schools, rules regarding child labor,
and also regarding liquor

ww2 was. Different military tactics and weapons were used during the wars as

and played a key role. Under Woodrow Wilson we entered WW1 mainly because of
the sinking of Lusitania where 128 American citizens were killed and because of the
Zimmermann note. This note says that if Mexico fought against America and central
powers won then Mexico would acquire land from the U.S. However there was
evidence that indicated that the Lusitania was carrying contraband war goods to the

13. Epigenetic Modifications
INTRODUCTION
Epigenetic mechanisms such as DNA methylation and histone modifications are
widely considered to be important in controlling the differentiation of cells. However
some argue that since these mechanisms are not seen or transient in model organisms
such as worms and flies that epigenetics cannot be important. However it is also
important to mention that there are very different definitions of the word epigenetics
formed from independent reasoning which may affect the debate on whether
epigenetics is important or not in controlling cell differentiation. (Berger et al.,

In the first cell division these transcription factors are distributed asymmetrically to
the daughter cells. Then, and in subsequent cell generations, new patterns of gene
expression arise in two ways: as a matter of course (some transcription factors
activating expression of genes encoding other regulatory proteins, etc.), and in
response to signals sent by other cells. Signalling used in development affects
expression of genes encoding yet more transcription factors it does so by changing
activities of transcription factors, already present, which target those genes. Retinoic
acid and growth hormone are examples of such signalling molecules. (Ptashne, 2013)
There are two things we need to keep in mind when we talk about cell
differentiation. These are specificity and memory. Transcription regulators work
specifically. They activate one gene or set of genes and not another. Therefore, for
many regulators and genes, any regulator will work on any gene as determined by the
locations of its affined cis regulatory sequence. (Ptashne,

16. History Of The California Gold Rush
The California Gold Rush was an extraordinary event that made everyone crazy for
gold. This event took place in Coloma, California. When storekeeper, James
Marshall, found gold at John A. Sutter s Sutter Mill on January 24, 1848. He
discovered that the rivers were filled with gold and tried to keep the secret to
himself. People soon grew suspicious of the man so they took a trip to the sawmill.
The men who when to the sawmill came back with gold dust. Once they heard that
someone had found gold anyone was desperate for gold. From that point on the
race for gold was on. People looked wherever they could in hopes of finding gold.
Men would depart to search for gold, which left numerous amounts of women to do
the work their husbands would leave.
17. Psychoanalytical Criticism Of Mending Walls
Mending Walls, a Psychoanalytical Criticism More times than none, authors write
concealed meanings that they want the reader to discover. Like Norman N. Holland
describes literary criticism is about books and psychoanalysis is about minds
(Holland), psychoanalytical criticism focuses more on the mindof the reader and
author, rather than the word for word meaning of the sentences. With Mending Walls,
Robert Frostwrote it in an open style of poetry; not focusing on rhymes, but
constructing each sentence with ten syllables. Nevertheless, Frost intents to catch the
attention of the reader by intentionally making ten sentences throughout the poem
into eleven syllables. This essay will intend to discover the hidden meaning that

Frost used a distinct way of writing throughout his poem that not only hooked the
reader into the story, but also made them question their own views of walls, both
physical and psychological. In the poem it is displayed that walls can be both
good and bad. The wall that the narrator sees as the embodiment of what separates
them, it is actually the one thing that brings them together every spring. Near the
end, the narrator brings back the original question, what is the something? With
this poem, maybe Frost wanted the reader to examine themselves and their
surroundings and try to answer the question of tradition, and how they unite us
and separates us at the same time. The narrator s neighbor is the personification of
the old ways and custom in the poem, it is evident as he is constantly repeating
good fences make good neighbors (Frost 245) and the fact that he will not go
behind his father s saying (Frost 246). Even though, good fences make good
neighbors is a well known proverb, people will eventually ask themselves: Why is it
necessary to have fences to build good
18. Similarities Between Gilgamesh And The Flood Of Noah
The earth will end only when God declares it s time to be over. Man will not
destroy this earth. This earth will not be destroyed by a flood, says John Shimkus, a
U.S representative and devout member of his Lutheran church in Illinois. In the epic
of Gilgamesh and the Flood of Noah, both stories depict deluges meant to wash the
sin and wickedness from man. Both floods are global, both characters righteous, and
both men experience some kind of salvation after surviving the spate. Thus, they
allow the redemption of humankind. The flood is new beginning, a fresh wash of an
existence that humans have tainted and after they are graciously allowed a second
chance by their benevolent God(s). In both accounts, God chooses a righteous man to

Humans have come to accept that History by mere definition is the exploration and
study of history whereas the Human Sciences are defined as the in depth study of
social, biological and cultural aspects of human beings. History and Human Sciences
seek to influence humans through language, reason, and emotion. By looking at the
title, I am coming to the conclusion that historians only focus on understanding the
past and the human scientist is only looking to change the future. That conclusion is
reasonable due to reasoning of the historian or the scientist. They use reasoning to do
their job. In order to answer this question I am making the assumption that it states
that history solely concentrates on unraveling the past, while Human... Show more

For example, how someone is raised or their surroundings can affect their perception
of the world. If a historian wanted to state that the holocaust never happened because
their background sympathizes with the Germans, It can not be considered history
unless a historian goes and research and analyze their findings and more than one
historian agrees with it. The information that we have today as history would not be
considered history, unless an historian took the time and researched it. So the claim
that the historian s task is to understand the past is accurate.
The title states by contrast that the human scientists are trying to change the future,
when in reality they are also trying to understand the past also. Historians know what
they know, but can scientists really rely on what historians state as history. They use
their knowledge and the knowledge of historians to try to change the future. Scientists
have to understand the past because you can not just rely on what someone says.
Everything in the Natural Science has to be researched and tested in order to be
accepted as science. No one is going to just follow what another says because
perception and emotion can make history or science as bias due to someone s feelings.
Scientist has to go in the past and understand it and improve the future. However even
though scientists need to research the past in order to change the future, it is not
21. Freedom Of Religion, Speech, And Press
I think that the constitution was a triumph in republican government for many
reasons. The constitution guaranteed basic rights for people, guarded against tyranny
and established a new type of government. The basic rights for people included all
the amendments. They guarded against tyranny in several ways such as separation of
powersand checks and balances and lastly it created a new government by making the
power of national and state governments equal.
Although the constitutions main goal was to establish a strong government after the
failed Articles of Confederation, there are still five parts that take part in protecting
individual rights of the people. The Bill of Rights, which is the first 10 amendments.
Amendment 1: Freedom of religion, speech, and press. Amendment 2: Right to keep
or bear arms. Amendment 3: Protection from quartering soldiers. Amendment 4:
Protection from unreasonable search or seizure. Amendment 5: Right to due process
of law. Amendment 6: Right to trial by jury, speedy trial, public trial, counsel.
Amendment 7: Right to civil by trial by jury. Amendment 8: Prohibition of excessive
bail and cruel and unusual punishment. Amendment 9: Protection of rights not
enumerated in the Constitution. Amendment 10: Protection of the powers of the
states and the people. Amendments 14, 15, 19, and 26 are also other amendments
/parts that are for the rights of people. Amendment 14 is citizenship rights. This
amendment gives citizenship to anyone born
22. An Essay About Love, Our Supreme Emotion, By Daniel
Gilbert
There are many distinctive definitions when it comes to the word happiness. Two
psychologists, in particular, are thoroughly investigating the science behind this
feeling. Barbara Fredrickson, who wrote the essay, Selections from Love 2.0: Love,
Our Supreme Emotion, focuses on formulating positive connections with people
through micro moments. She believes that these conscious interactions are beneficial
to positive resonance and to our mental well being. On the contrary, Daniel Gilbert,

The process of neural coupling makes people have empathy. Empathy is something
that you gain when you feel other people s emotions. It can only be earned when
you understand one s pain. According to Fredrickson, these conscious acts can only
be reached by sharing a unified connection. When talking to people, you typically
share a smile or you attentively pay attention to their expressions. By doing so, you
can reach the level of happiness that you deserve. Yet, Gilbert would say that all
these emotions are not possible. You have to rely on your unconscious during
these types of moments. These are rare moments that you typically share between
family, friends, or strangers. Usually, we rely on our psychological immune
system to make us happy. If the process is typically unconscious, how do we know
that what we are feeling in Love 2.0 is a real connection between a stranger or soul
mate? This concludes that Fredrickson s theory needs to be assisted by Gilbert s.
Another conscious process that Fredrickson discusses is how oxytocin is used in
social relationships. This hormone makes people attend more to eyes and become
specifically more attuned to their smiles, especially subtle ones. Perhaps because of
the closer attention you pay to people s smiles and eyes, you become a better judge
of their feelings (Fredrickson 115). Although Fredrickson makes it seem that this is
essential for happiness, she is
23. Advantages Of Integrated Marketing Communication
The purpose of this article is aims to explore the whether Integrated Marketing
Communication could indeed be seen as an effort towards promotion in practice.
Besides that, the second purpose of Integrated Marketing Communication is drawing
out few challenges and future of integrated marketing communications for business.
In this article the author discusses the concept of Integrated Marketing
Communication. The Integrated Marketing Communication as an effective tool that
can guide practitioners in developing and implementing marketing communications
more consistent, systematic and efficient. The methodology of this article is using a
variety of review of literature to obtain and collect information about Integrated
Marketing Communication.

The challenges of IMC are shift in market place power from manufacturer to

rapid growth of internet marketing, growing competition in relationship marketing,
change from mere information delivery to value delivery, consumer empowerment,
fragmentation of media, increasing advertising clutter and desire for greater
accountability. Therefore, the IMC had to face internal and external challenges with

24. Adjuvants In Vaccines
The viruses that cause tumorigenic transformation produce oncoviral antigens. These
antigens are recognized by the immune system as non self because they are present
on infected cells (Saxena and Bhardwaj 2017).
Neoantigens, which are MHC restricted antigens, are produced by mutations in tumor
cells so they are not found on all tumors. Because neoantigens are unique to the
individual, vaccines that target these antigens need to be personalized (Saxena and
Bhardwaj 2017).
Finally, antigens that are over expressed significantly in tumor cells compared to
normal cells are simply known as overexpressed antigens (Saxena and Bhardwaj
2017).

Some New Adjuvants
Nanoparticles are a recently developed type of adjuvant that help vaccines access
the lymph nodes. These nanoparticles can allow the vaccine to be directly deposited
into the lymph node, activating DCs and CTLs via intranodal injections.
Nanoparticle vaccines may also reach the lymph node by lymphatic drainage. In the
lymph node, CD8 CTLs are produced by cross presentation of lymph node DCs
(Saxena and Bhardwaj 2017). Nanoparticle vaccines could be vital for the future of
cancer treatment.
Another new type of adjuvants are self polymerizing scaffolds. They incorporate TLR
agonists and peptide antigens. This allows the molecule to remain water soluble at
room temperature unlike TLR agonists. The scaffolds undergo temperature dependent
self polymerization which makes immunogenic particles water soluble. These
particles are drained to the lymph node where they activate DCs (Saxena and
Bhardwaj 2017).
Albumin binding agonists are effective because of the abundance of albumin in the
blood and lymph. Vaccines with albumin binding agonists have TAAs with lipid tails
that have a high affinity for albumin. Once bound, the vaccine is taken to lymph
nodes. This vaccine type is known to safely advance CD8 CTL activation (Saxena
and Bhardwaj 2017).
Oncolytic viruses can also be used as vaccine adjuvants in oncolytic virus therapy,
also known as virotherapy. This can

North Korea more than likely is the most abusive administration on Earth. Moreover
human rights screens are by and large banned from the nation, as are radio
correspondences amongst citizens and outsiders. A few journalists and human rights
screens have been fruitful in revealing insights about the hidden governments
arrangements.
The UN s bonus on human rights in North Korea, which assembled proof for nearly a
year, including often harrowing testimony at public hearings worldwide, said there
was strong evidence of torture, execution and arbitrary imprisonment, deliberate
starvation and an almost complete lack of free thought and belief.

Although human rights are better in some places than in others, human rights

Moving Away
Moving away from all of your best friends can be a real tragedy in a sixteen year
old teenagers life. It s hard to get up and go eight hundred miles away from
everyone you know and everything you grew up around. I had this happen to me
about three years ago and it is the largest change I have ever had to adjust to in my
life. It wasn t the changes around me that I was bothered by; it was that I did not
know one living soul for hundreds of miles and all I wanted was a friend.

the little town of Shillington Pennsylvania I would find out the worse news that a ...

was little, they would stop by the
House, start talking to me and all I could do is cry. I knew what I was leaving behind
was something irreplaceable and almost impossible to come by again.
Once my family and I arrived at our new house I was still very saddened because of
the move and had trouble not getting mad at my parents. Summer went bye like it
wasn t even there and by the time school started I was very depressed. The new
school I was going to was Naperville North High School which was about ten times
the size of my old school in Pennsylvania in size and in the number of students. In
my school in Pennsylvania there were about twelve students in each class, here the
number runs around thirty two. The school building was so big I had a lot of
trouble getting to class on time let alone finding them in the building. The school
wasn t what I was bothered by the most because it was the fact that I didn t have
any social life and I was a social person. There were a lot of different groups of people
at my new high school, it was tough for me to fit in and meet new people. Everyone

27. Protein Analysis
Proteins are an essential component of the human body tissues. They are made by
combining amino acids together. There are many pros as well as cons to consuming
inadequate amounts of protein each day. Making sure to consume the accurate type
and amount of protein is important for the body. There are specific groups that do
require more protein, however, if you are not a part of one of these groups
consuming too much protein can have harmful effects. Proteins are made when
amino acids combine to each other. There are 20 different amino acids; 9 are
essential amino acids and 11 are non essential amino acids. The body is unable to
produce essential amino acids on its own. The body must obtain the 9 essential amino
acids through the consumption... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These groups include children, athletes, vegetarians, adolescents, and pregnant
woman. Since proteins help with the growth of tissue in the body as well as
hormones and enzymes it is important for vegetarians as well as vegans to make sure
they are consuming adequate amounts of protein. Animal products contain the
majority of sources for amino acids where many plant products are missing those
sources that our bodies need. Dr. Hubbard explains in the article Are You Getting
Enough Protein published by Tufts University how animal products can provide the
complete proteins but it is possible to get them in other ways such as peanut butter,
beans, rice, and bread. Dr. Hubbard states: Despite what you may have heard, these
combinations don t have to be eaten at one meal it s a balance over a whole day that s
most important ( Are You Getting Enough Protein, 2012). Another group that needs
to ensure that they have enough protein in their diet is athletes. According to a
journal titled Protein food and amino acid supplements in athletes diet, the amount of
protein required over the daily recommended amount depends on the athlete as well
as the sport. All athletes can benefit when an extra supply of protein is consumed
immediately following a workout in order to help increase muscle mass and strength
endurance. Protein consumption also helps athletes with recovery time and enhances
their performance both in exercise and in a
28. Guinea Pig By Guinea Pigs
Once upon a time, on the coastal cliffs and rocky shores of Animal Island, there
lived a sea guinea pig. He was young and curious and loved adventure. He would go
diving down to the ocean floor to discover the colorful fish that swam through the
bright sea plants, and he loved to explore the small underwater caves that dotted the
edges of the reef.
One day Guinea Pig was basking in the sunshine. It was almost always cloudy where
he lived, and it was a rare day when the sun was out. As Guinea Pig sunned himself
on the shore, his eyes scanned the great, vast ocean. It was so big, and he was so

Octopus probably isn t even real, He told himself. I ll be fine. And he stood up and
began to walk down to the water s edge.
But strangely enough, he couldn t see the gold anymore! It no longer shined and
glittered in the sun.
Oh, the sun is setting, Guinea Pig thought, disappointed. It s not shining on the gold
anymore, so I ll have to wait until tomorrow, when I can see the gold again.
Guinea Pig could hardly sleep that night. His heart was filled with excitement and
greed. He wished he could go get the gold right now, but at night he wouldn t be
able to see the treasure, and he would get lost in the ocean if he didn t know where
he was going.
I ll get the gold first thing tomorrow morning, Guinea Pig thought. Tomorrow, I will
be rich! Tomorrow, I will be King! And he laughed and closed his eyes, falling into
a dream filled slumber. In his dreams he was King of Animal Island, and he told
everyone what to do. Everyone was servant to him. They catered to his every wish
and worshipped him because he was so rich.
Morning finally broke, and Guinea Pig quickly ate breakfast and headed down to the
waterfront. It was another sunny day, and the sun shone brightly on the gold.

Fraud is deliberate deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain. Fraud is both a civil
wrong (i.e., a fraud victim may sue the fraud perpetrator to avoid the fraud and/or

Fraud is not prejudice; culture, ethnicity, and religion, are not factors in determining
who will commit fraud. Finding fraud can be difficult. We re constantly reminded at

31. Megacity And Megacity
There is no doubt that the world population is growing and growing rapidly but in
order for the world to hold the mass change there is a need for humanity to adapt.
According to the UN (United Nations) more than half of humanity today 3.9 billion
people in 2014, today over 4 billion lives in urban areas (UN 2014, p. 1).This is a
profound shift in the course of one century, or within a single lifetime for some of
the longer lived people. Not only is the world s urban populationrapidly increasing,
but cities themselves are growing larger and larger, with the number of megacities
(population at least 10 million) almost tripling from 10 in 1990 to 28 in 2014 (UN
2014, p. 13). To first understand how such mega urbanity affects humanity one first
needs to understand what a Megacityis. Once one understands this concept they will
be able to indicate what the development of cities and our urban past have to say for
urban future, understand the concept of a cityand its history, be able to explain the
urban way of life associated with cities and finally be able to assess the challenges
and changes that cities and urban life face in modern day. Megacities are for the
most part a very modern concept, they are best described as any city that holds 10
million residents or more. Some examples of modern day mega cities are Shanghai,
Paris and London. A city typically defined as a large settlement of humans which
holds extensive systems for housing, transportation, sanitation, land use

Phoebe. In the same way, Phoebe is supportive when spending time with Holden.
However, this takes a turn for the worse, as Holden reveals to Phoebe that he is

experiences with Phoebe and the support from he receives from her. Holden begins
to reminisce about his interactions with his deceased brother, Allie as he feels lost,
and does not know what to do. Holden, having difficulty describing a room or

baseball mitt, that had poems written a over the glove for Allie to read when he
was in the field (Salinger 38). Holden begins to remember how Allie was very

How effectively did Tudor governments deal with rebellion in England and Ireland?
Tudor governments were relatively successful in dealing with the problem of
rebellion, although this was more effective towards the end of the period than at the
beginning shown through the decline in rebellion after 1549: only 5 English
rebellions occurred as opposed to 10 before 1549. Over the course of the Tudor period
the main aims of rebellions were only fully achieved in the rebellions of 1525, the
Amicable Grant and 1553. In addition to this the reforms made to local government,

In Ireland, rival clan chiefs were offered rewards, pardons and promises in return
for helping to maintain English rule, Elizabeth in particular in 1558 for example,
invited rebel leader Shane O Neill to London where she recognised him as Earl of
Tyrone. A similar policy of conciliatory politics can be observed under Edward VI
and Henry VIII, who in response to the Pilgrimage of Grace sent the Duke of
Northumberland to bargain with rebel leaders; Robert Aske was even invited to
the palace and treated with dignity on Christmas day 1536. Protector Somerset,
operating on Edward s behalf, sent Peter Carew to persude the Prayer Book rebels
to disperse in 1549, arguably with lesser success considering his heavy protestant
agenda, conciliatory politics is also shown to be used to lesser success through
Henry VII s decision to replace members of the leading clan, the Geraldines, with
loyal English officials actually resulted in increased disorder from 1534 1603 and
attempts by rival Irish clans to seize power.
Concessions were generally made to rebels were largely a strategy used to buy time

people who do both. In my opinion, this disconnect hurts the product and lessens its
impact on the desired audience children, families, and teachers. My work history has
been a journey exploring how to integrate and apply my academic background in
ways that positively impact people s lives, and it is why being an effective teacher
means more than just equipping students with information. I believe it is vital to
purposefully and thoughtfully connect coursework with practical applications, and
equip students with the intellectual tools to foster critical thinking and life long
learning. These tools, rather than specific facts, are increasingly important and
valuable in the job market and for later life success, where new information can
rapidly alter how we understand scientific data. Many students graduate college
without these tools, and I believe these individuals are dramatically limited in their
ability to participate in, and with, the dynamic pace of modern society. On the other
hand, students with these intellectual resources are prepared to not only participate

Tuesdays with Morrie is about an elderly man named Morrie Shwartz diagnosed in

Hydroelectricity is expected to increase 3.1% each year for the next 25 years
which eventually means we will be producing enough electricity to power over
1000 United States. Looking at the stats hydropower ranks first among all other
renewable energies and if we keep up and continuing to put in power plants
hydropower can continue to stay on top of all the other renewable energies. The
way hydropower works and operates so efficiently is because it uses falling water
or flowing water which is already happening naturally in the world. The plants
work by allowing water into a small area and then it flows down and pushes a
turbine which then charges a generator to create electricity and then flows out the
other side continuing on with the path of the river. The turbine spins and creates
electricity to be used. Which leads to the biggest hydro powered plants being in
dams or on large rivers to take advantage of the large body of water. There are many
different types of way the energy is created there is the
41. Physical Therapy History
The History of Physical Therapy
Hayley J. Harris
Arkansas State University
In recent decades, physical therapy has become somewhat of a hot commodity in
America. According the United States Department of Labor and Bureau of Labor
Statistics (2014), the number of physical therapy jobs is expected to jump an
astonishing 36% by 2022, equating to almost 280,000 licensed, practicing physical
therapists. Physical therapy seems to have joined the ranks of doctor, teacher, and
astronaut in the list of typical career aspirations. However, many of those aspiring
students do not have a full understanding of what all physical therapy entails,
including where it all began. According to Michael A. Pagliarulo (2012) the term
physical therapy wasn t coined until the 20th century, but the concept of using

Pagliarulo (2012) goes on to discuss what was referred to as the Vermont Plan. This
was a statewide plan implemented by Vermont to observe and study the effects of
polio. Through this plan, health care teams including orthopedic surgeons, nurses,
physiotherapists, bracemakers, and stenographers began making field visits to
provide care for children with polio. Measurements to determine the muscle strength
of those children affected by polio were then used to develop therapy through exercise
and massage. However, as more children were diagnosed with polio and more
soldier were returning home from war, the need for reconstruction aides increased.
With this increased need for aides became an increasing need for a professional
body that could set a code of ethics and standards to practice
42. Max Weber sThe Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of
Capitalism
The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism Max Weber s The Protestant Ethic
and the Spirit of Capitalism gives meaning to the center of the capitalist culture. The
capitalistic nature of society evolves from the Puritans. The Protestant Ethic was a
dominant and established concept within their culture before the labeling of capitalism
as an order was put into practice. This ethic found it morally permissible to obtain
wealth for God, but not for flesh and sin (Weber, pg 435). The obedient Christians
would drive for the opportunity to gain profit to fulfill their calling and be a
steward for the Lord. Obtaining wealth as a result of temptation to idleness and
sinful enjoyment of life (Weber, pg 435) and living without careful though was seen
negatively, but the acquisition of wealth in the view of performing your duty as a
good Christian was encouraged. Not pursuing wealth by not expanding in your
talent was seen as disrespectful to God s glory, principally in the form of begging.
By trying to pursue the spiritual goal of wealth, the acetic aspect of the Protestant
Ethic allowed individuals to refrain from the pleasures of wealth by reasoning with
their calling. The ascetic conduct related to the rational means behind the Puritans
acquiring wealth with duty and religion in mind and for the purpose of the calling.
In the Spirit of Capitalism there was a religious aspect that drove their determination.
The ethical and moral bounds that initiated their drive for

Historical Development of Private Security in the United States

Without a doubt the profession of private security has evolved over time. Today if
you were to ask group of Americans at what point in history did the need for private
security became significant, you re likely to receive one of the two answers. Half
would say toward the ending of World War II, because many of the man returning
from the war had prior military police training and acquired work within the private
sector as private police (security). While the younger individuals within the group

Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act which set aside billions of dollars to

45. Nero s Domus Aurea And The Colosseum
The Colosseum has been standing for over 1900 years but before discussing the
Colosseum s achievements, it is important to understand the historical context and
background of the building. How can a place go from being a symbol of extreme
tyranny and private wealth to a symbol of one of the greatest entertainment venues
and architectural feats? The Roman Colosseumdid just that. It completely changed
the public attitude and activity since it was built upon the grounds of what was
once the part of Golden House of Nero (Domus Aurea). Although both Nero s
Domus Aurea and the Colosseum are architecturally supreme and complex, the area
holds rich history of private decadent excess to a public attraction making them
supreme and complex in two different ways. Nero was the fifth Roman emperor of
the Julio Claudian line who ruled from 54 68 CE. Nero did... Show more content on

Nero was only seventeen when he became emperor in 54. Nero was not all bad, he

Nero was popular with the crowds but after he forced Seneca to commit suicide, he

46. On Life After Death Essay
Bereavement is an issue that affects families all across the world. It is often hard
for parents and families to comfort bereaved children as they are grieving too.
Grieving parents many times feel like they are losing their minds (Dickens). But if
parents are actively involved in helping their child s healing process then children
can learn coping flexibility and resilience and can deal with their griefin healthy ways.
However numerous parents are too emotionally wrought to comprehend the grief of
their remaining children (Dickens). They, as well as other family members,
experience symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and complicated Greif as
they struggle to cope with the loss of their parent, spouse or child.

On November 18, I attended the Cabana Boys concert presented by the Music
Department at Fullerton College. The band itself was made up of Fullerton College
students, and the concert was directed by Dr.Gregory Woll. Generally speaking, The
Cabana Boys are a high energy group performing contemporary musicincluding latin,
rock, fusion and pop (department). The band consisted of these eight members and
instruments: Jonny White, Trumpet; Jack Sneddon, Trombone; Oscar Soriano, Sax;
Blake Rambo, Bass; Gabe Barraza, Guitar; Nico Vasquez, Drum set; Juan Garcia,
Percussion and Gio Thomson, vocalist.
On the whole, this concert was a new but pleasant experience for me, because it
was my first time attending a school jazz concert. For the most part, there was
consonance in all of the songs played by this band along with a slow, mellow
tempo. The tunes and melodies were repetitive as well as groovy. Notably, the genre
of the majority of the songs was Jazz, and they were mainly songs by Gordon
Goodwin. I thought it was very unique how most of ... Show more content on

Personally, I enjoyed this performance since the song played was a cover from my
favorite band, The Doors. In my opinion, this cover was excellent because the
vocals and instruments were syncopated and merged perfectly together. While this
song played, the background stage lights manifested a psychedelic mood by
spirling in different colors. The Doors was a Psychedelic/Acid Rock band from the
late 1960 s, and therefore it made sense to use those colorful lights to create that
surreal, trippy mood. The beginning of the song starts off by saying, Before you
slept into unconsciousness, I d like to have another kiss./Another flashing chance at
bliss/Another kiss, another kiss. The Cabana Boys were able to represent the LSD
part of the acid rock era with the use of this song; since the lyrics are both poetic and

49. Analysis Of Wally Obermeyer ( Head Of Obermeyer
Question One
Wally Obermeyer (head of Obermeyer, a leading manufacturer of skiwear) wanted
to discover a way of determining the best levels of production in order to make
production commitments for the upcoming 1993 1994 season. So far, predicting
production has been difficult for Wally, as the first more concrete signals of
demand do not appear until Obermeyer participates in a trade shoe in Las Vegas, not
long before production is due to begin. The products also face a short life cycle and
are only ordered once a season. Therefore determining the correct quantities based on
the most accurate estimates of demand are necessary, Furthermore, the company s

Question Two
In order to help Wally decide which product lines to manufacture in either Hong Kong
or China, a measure of risk needs to be undertaken for all 10 product lines based on
average forecasted demand.
In order to determine what items should be produced where, a risk assessment was
conducted for all lines per the average forecast for each line. The Coefficient of
Variation (CV) was determined in order to analyse the risk associated with each line,
due to fluctuations in demand.
The CV for each parka was derived using the following formula: CV = standard
deviation/average forecasted demand. The CVs for each product line can be seen
below in Table 2.1
Table 2.1 Risk assessment for each product line
Lastly, so as to determine which lines had more associated risk, it has been decided
that any line with a CV of under 0.2 was low risk, and therefore less subject to
fluctuations in demand. Those lines are Assault, Seduced, Entice, Electra, and Gail.
Those lines with a CV of over 0.2 were considered high risk. Those product lines
were Daphne, Isis, Anita, Teri and Stephanie.
Question Three
For Wally to decide what product lines to create in which country, he must calculate
the production commitments for the plant in China. The minimum production
requirement for China is 1,200 units per line, double that of the Hong Kong plant. At
the China plant, there is

51. The Role Of Women In A Doll s House
The well known play A Doll s House was first published in 1879 and has elements and
characters which support feminism, which in turn drew attention from the women s
rights movement. However, Ibsen (author of the Dolls House) states that he was not a
feminist; rather, his play is about the human nature in general, and is not specifically
about women s rights.
Throughout the history of society, women and men both have faced the constricting
roles forced upon them, from an early age; each gender is given specific social and
cultural roles to play out throughout their lives (Yildrim). Victorian Erawas not

This kind of system was the norm for most women and women usually led a more
quiet, private life; while men had all kinds of freedom. Man were the head of the
family and the protector of family. Men were the strong and brave ones.
Women were wary, weak and emotional compared to men (Odubajo). Women were
supposed to be pure and quiet. Showing feelings such as anger or annoyance were
never expected out of them.
Women had no responsible jobs in general. A women job was to give birth to
children and take care of the household. They didn t have the right to not vote. They

Principals, dedication, and different components are all components that help you
identify a certain structure. The three principal orders of Ionic, Doric, and Corinthian
describe the different types of columns. The key components help describe the unique
