Concluding An Argumentative Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "Concluding An Argumentative Essay" can prove to be a
challenging endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in summarizing the main points of the
argument but also in leaving a lasting impression on the reader. The conclusion is the final
opportunity to sway the audience in favor of the presented argument, making it a crucial aspect
of the essay.
One challenge stems from the need to strike a delicate balance between reiterating key points
and introducing new insights. The conclusion should not merely be a repetition of the thesis and
major arguments but should offer a fresh perspective or a thought-provoking idea that lingers in
the reader's mind. Finding the right words to convey this balance can be a nuanced task.
Moreover, crafting a conclusion requires a deep understanding of the overall argument and the
ability to distill its essence into a concise yet impactful statement. It demands a keen awareness
of the tone, ensuring that the conclusion aligns with the essay's overarching style and purpose.
Striking this balance can be particularly challenging, as an overly assertive or timid conclusion
may undermine the essay's effectiveness.
Additionally, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s or generic statements. A compelling
conclusion should be unique and memorable, steering clear of common phrases that might dilute
the impact of the essay. Crafting an original and resonant conclusion demands creativity and a
keen sense of language, making the task even more intricate.
In summary, writing a conclusion for an argumentative essay is a multifaceted challenge that
involves synthesizing key information, introducing new insights, maintaining the appropriate
tone, and avoiding clichГ©s. It requires a careful and thoughtful approach to leave a lasting
impression on the reader.

The Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck And The Grapes
Of Wrath
The novels The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck and Under the Feet of Jesus by
Helena Maria Viramontes both explore the plight of migrant farmers in California.
Steinbeck tells the story of white migrant workers during the Great Depression and
Viramontes tells the story of Mexican migrant workers. The novels deconstruct the
perceived California dream in which great wealth can be achieved through hard
work by recounting the plights of migrant workers who recognize the illusion and
take action against it. Steinbeck s novel portrays the plight of the Joad family,
natives of Oklahoma. The Joads, a family of dispossessed farmers, travel to
California searching for work after the forces of large scale banking capitalism
remove them from their land. They chase the promise of a new beginning and the
opportunity to find wealth because of the California dream. Steinbeck narrates the
journey of an underclass family achieving the Marxist construction of class
consciousness. Class conflict between wage slaves and the owners of the means of
production, social alienation through the separation of labor and profit, and
dehumanization of workers through the mass commodification of labor all appear
in the novel. Class consciousness defines the novel and is the method by which the
Joad family is able to rise against the bourgeois and capitalism. The Joads are a
member of the proletariat and must work as laborers who are, according to Karl Marx
, A class of labourers, who live only

What are your commitments for this school year?
This school year I am employed at the Jundt Art Museum where I work between 6
to 10 hours a week during the school day and weekends. In addition, I am a Campus

ranging from school visits, games, and tutoring. This semester I plan to become more
involved with the club Mans Best Friend and volunteer at the local animal shelter.

I have always wanted to join a sorority and although I love Gonzaga and I am very
happy with my decision I felt like I was missing out. I am drawn to Alpha Pi Phi
specifically because of the strong focus on sisterhood. In addition, as I got to know
members of Alpha Pi Phi I enjoyed the fact that all of the girls are very unique and
each bring their own unique qualities to create one united sisterhood.
What are some stereotypes you ve heard about Greek life and what would you do to
challenge them?
Stereotypes that I have heard about Greek Life include that it is just about partying
and the members are fake or catty. To challenge this stereotype I would lead by
example to prove to others that Greek Life does not focus on partying, but in fact
focuses on forming friendships, learning, and helping others. By showing others
that those in Greek Life are more focused on school and philanthropy it can have
an affect on changing this stereotype for many Greek organizations. There is also a
very common stereotype that girls in sororities are catty or fake. To challenge this
stereotype at Gonzaga I would show other students that members of Alpha Pi Phi are
dedicated to forming a strong sisterhood that values uniqueness and diversity.
Valuing others for who they are conveys the message that there is no need to be fake

What Is Scout s Transformation In To Kill A Mockingbird
In the earliest pages of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, one would not be able
to predict the changes that will overcome Scout, the main protagonist. In chapter one,
we are introduced to Scout telling the story of her family s history, and describing
Maycomb; a small, poor town immersed in traditional Southern values. Scout begins
to explain the circumstances that lead to the broken arm of her older brother, Jem.
The important people in her life are Calpurnia, the African American housekeeper
who becomes her mother figure, her brother Jem, who protects her and goes on
adventures with her, and her father Atticus who teaches her the importance of
equality. Maycomb County residents tend be infected with Maycomb s usual disease

An instance of this would be when Dill runs away from his home and comes to
Scout s house as refuge. When they are sleeping in bed, Dill tells Scout that they
should have a baby, which neither of them know how to do; Scout says, Aunty
said God drops em down the chimney (163). This quote clearly shows that Scout
doesn t have an inkling of how to have a baby, or where babies come from. Dill has
a different opinion in his head, he says, But there s this man too he has all these
babies just waitin to wake up, he breathes life into em.... (Lee, 163). Scout is so
naive that she believes Dill, the story telling, drama making, dreamer who runs
away from home. Scout is very innocent therefore has no experience or knowledge
in the topic of babies. Scouts idea of where babies come from is typical for a child
her age. Another example of her being naive is when she is at school one day and
Cecil Jacobs announced to the children that her daddy defends niggers . After
denying it, she later asks Jem what Cecil means by saying that. Racism is taught, and
Scout has been taught and shown by Atticus and Calpurnia to treat black people with
respect and kindness. She sees them as equals and can t understand why anyone
would feel indifferent towards them, because she has been taught the
Analyzing The Kpi s For Retail Industry Essay
Abstract
Now a day s most of the Industry is becoming more and more reliant on Information
Technology to adjust with the constantly changing business ecosystem. So great
amount of data is produced every seconds as an outcome of business activities, and as
a consequence of numerous trades. So to use this data and derive some important
result out of this, data warehouse should consider important factors that are affecting
the business .This paper emphases concepts on defining the KPI s for retail industry
that will help to generate useful data that will develop business chances.
Introduction
As a vendor, industry will have an enormous volume of data and information. There s
total income and profit, sales per month, sales per year, inventory data, and many
more. With these several numbers it is difficult to decide which one will help
business to discover their new opportunities. This is the scenario where Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) comes into the picture. These are the factors which
defines the business productivity and efficiency. These KPI will help business to
tackle the critical business problems so stakeholder can determine the strengths and
weaknesses of business and influence the future decisions. A data warehouse
generates huge amount of data that can be productively operated. In today s world,
data warehousing is an uncompromising business with demanding customers. So
defining the KPI s is an important task which will display exactly what the customer
The Things They Carried Jimmy Cross Character Analysis
Tim O Brien wrote The Things They Carried based on some of his own
experiences in the Vietnam War. The characters he created are similar to the men he
knew in the war. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross was a character that O Brien s character
knew very well. Lieutenant He is not focused and does not seem to know his
purpose in the war or in his life. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross is a character that
experiences overwhelming emotions but he does not show them. He seems to feel
lost in the war and burdened with responsibility. Lieutenant Cross was in lovewith a
girl back home named Martha. He carried around letters that she wrote to him and
pictures that she gave him. His obsession of Martha took his focus away from the
war. He had loved Martha more than his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has so much responsibility that he blames himself for the death of two of his
soldiers: Ted Lavender and Kiowa. There are two deaths that Cross blames himself
for: Ted Lavender and Kiowa. He feels guilty because he thinks that if he had been
watching his soldiers carefully than it would not have happened. When a man
died, there had to be blame. Jimmy Cross understood this. You could blame the
war... A moment of carelessness or bad judgment or plain stupidity carried
consequences that lasted forever. (O Brien 169) Someone or something must be
blamed when a man died. Jimmy Cross always blamed himself because he was the
leader. He carried a lot of guilt throughout the war. He blames himself for thinking
of Martha instead of focusing on the war. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross was a character
with many layers that he never actually showed. He had emotions that he kept
inside him, and he was never truly focused on the war. He rarely talked to the other
soldiers about how he felt about the war. Cross was burdened with responsibility and
guilt. He blamed himself for the death of his soldiers, and he blamed himself for
Martha not loving him the way he loved her. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross is a important
character that is seriously affected by the war, and has conflicted
Other People s Children By Jonathan Kozol
Jonathan Kozol, in the chapter entitled Other People s Children, discusses and
justifies the kinds of limitations placed on children who must attend poorly funded,
educationally inferior school. Kozol argues that children in the inner city schools
are not fit to go to college and that they should be trained in schools for the jobs they
will eventually hold, even though these jobs are less prestigious, lowest level jobs in
society. Kozol s argumentis based on the fact that students from the inner city or
rather from the societies that do not have enough job opportunities are not supposed
to learn much because their society cannot accommodate most of the courses that
are often found in the urban settings. For example, there is a point where Kozol
cites one of the businessman s statement which says, It doesn t make sense to offer
something that most of these urban kids will never use. The businessman continues
to argue, no one expects these ghetto kids to go to college. Most of them are lucky
if they are literate. If we can teach some useful skills, get them to stay in schooland
graduate, and maybe into jobs, we re giving them the most that they can hope for
(Kozol 376). This statement clearly indicate that the society should accept the
inequalities and exercise the same inequalities even in education.
Despite the fact that Kozol could be right in some ways, this paper will argue that
Kozol s arguments are baseless, biased and that they should not be applied. In other
Essay On Chief s Magic
Meta: Representing a brand new series and a brand new venture for Microgaming,
the developer is showcasing Native American spirit in new game Chief s Magic!
Chief s Magic Review
Chief s Magic takes you back in time where the classic 3 reel slot machine ran wild,
and uses Native American visuals to stand out from other similar titles in the
genere. With a single payline being featured, along with three pre defined
paytables, Chief s Magic is a very simple slot game experience without the usual
wild icons and scatter symbols in the mix. With the availability of playing between
0.25 and 15 coins, this game has a top prize award that is 200x your wager for the
matching of three chief icons, though this is available only at the highest bet ... Show

A wild symbol is not featured in this game, as it has only the payout feature that is
reserved for the BAR logos, which can be assembled together to make a winning
payline.
With three single BAR logos you get a payout of 3x your wager, but three double
BAR logos give you a payout of 5x your wager, and three triple BAR logos give a
payout of 10x your wager, while mixing and matching combinations of the three can
double your starting wager. For instance, two single BARs with a double BAR
following is still a winning spin in Chief s Magic, though you would get the minimum
winning payout.
Nothing but a Dud
Besides what has been highlighted before, there is not much to the game and we are
stuck wondering why the icon with the game s highest value, the titular chief, is not
featured as a substitute wild icon. Having only one payline, this won t have a
massive effect to make it a must play for any players interested, but at the very least
it would add some type of action and excitement. Putting it simply, Chief s Magic is a
dud when it comes to bonus features.
Looking for Brighter Fortunes
This is probably not the best of Microgaming s releases, as it appears to not have
power where it is most needed. There are greater games from Microgaming out there,
with a few actually being a bit adventurous with their creativeness and themes. Chief

Les Florets
Post Negotiation Analysis Les Florets Entering Les Florets negotiation, I had set
for myself rules. Besides my will to buy the restaurant, I had some intermediary
objectives to help reach my goal. First, I needed to learn more about the seller s
reasons to sell. This way I could offer her different solutions to solve the situation.
Second, I needed to be flexible, despite the limit of $160,000. That meant I needed
to maintain a margin in the negotiation around the price, and I decided to start with a
price of $140,000, saying since I am not usually in charge of buying new restaurants,
I am limited in the money I can spend. This way, I could difficultly raise my offer to
$150,000 but negotiate other things, notably that the seller would... Show more

My intent was simply to make sure she knew she needed an agreement with me,
more than I did. I needed her to believe that reaching an agreement with me was her
best alternative. Obviously, our price targets were different and unmatchable. She
needed to have $190,000 and I could not pay more than $160,000. Just making
propositions and trying to be flexible on additional things besides the price was not
enough, because she thought she needed the money immediately. At least, it was
not enough until the seller knew she had no better alternative outside the one I was
able to offer. Also, I learned that although it may seem a lot better to maintain
cordiality and an atmosphere of trust during the negotiation, at some point, when it
is not going anywhere, it might be better to adopt a stronger position. Mainly, it
had to be used to show the other party that even if an agreement is profitable for
both parties, there is a point of no return, that it is time to really start looking for
other solutions, more creative ones. After having established my position over the
seller, making new propositions was a lot easier. Also, she had realized that not
reaching an agreement with me meant that she could not pursue her life s dream,
whereas reaching an agreement with me made it possible for even if it meant having
to delay for a few months. Adopting a stronger position and

Vacuum Truck Excavation Case Study
Vacuum Truck Excavation Cardno developed a new process that includes standard,
archival research coupled with ground penetrating radar investigations to identify
potential historic archaeological features at any given project area. This analysis is
followed by controlled excavation with vacuum trucks to locate and excavate features
more accurately than traditional Phase I methodology. This technique has the
potential to determine National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility
without the need for a traditional Phase II evaluation, and helps minimize accidental
discoveries after project construction has begun. Light Detection and Ranging

started wondering about books and I sensed it right away. I told him it was normal

go through them before he would return them for incineration. I ll monitor him and

Types of car Soaps
There are different types of car soaps available on the market. It is a good idea to
know what you are looking for in this particular product.
1. Car wash soap. This is the typical soap you use to remove dust, dirt, and other
road debris found in your hood and Windows.
2. Soap and car wash wax. This is another innovation in this product line, as it is a 2

surface.
3. Car soap Conditioner. From the name itself, this kind of car soap conditions your
vehicle by bringing back the glitter of your car s wax and paint. It also helps to clean
the outside at the same time.
4. Soap without rinsing. Even the car soap has room for innovation. Today, there

Rosa Parks Admire
A person I really admire is Rosa Parks. Growing up in Alabama, Rosa came from a
black family with poor health. The only education she received was until she was
11, but went on to finish high school later on in life. Rosa was very self conscious
growing up and being black in a small Alabama town. She often got bullied by the
white kids in her neighbourhood, but she always fought back physically. As Rosa got
older, she became well aware of the very less rights black peoplehad. They were
forced to enter through the front of the bus, pay their fares, get out, and reenter
through the back, where they got their seat in the coloured section . In 1945, Rosa
entered through the front of the bus, paid her fare, and went straight to her seat,

Mackey Arena Game Analysis
Walking into Mackey Arena is like walking into a basketball shrine, filled with
history. That history is built upon the rivalry between Purdue and the school down
south, Indiana University. On February 28, I was fortunate enough to be in
Mackey Arena for this historical rivalry game and senior night, a game that meant
Purdue could take the Big Ten Title in a win. Purdue did just that, winning 86 to
75. I was very pleased with the game and it exceeded all expectations I had for the
huge rivalry. As a student who has been to every home game this season, I joined
the lottery system prior to the game so that I could get a closer seat than those who
did not do the lottery. The lottery began the night prior to the game where students
camped out outside Mackey s atrium. I asked Sam Kolczak, a student at Purdue
who camped out for the IU game and the Villanova game back on November 14,
2016, what he thought about the student involvement for games at Purdue. Kolczak
said, I love camping out for these games. The people that do it are really cool and I

Purdue this season has had a better season than they have had in the past, finishing at

IU had won the conference and Purdue suffered on the road against them. I asked

fashion. When I was a freshman, Purdue had finished last in the Big Ten conference.

Hidden Instincts In The Bean Trees By Barbara Kingsolver
Hidden Instincts Maternal, as defined by Merriam Webster, is of, relating to,
belonging to, or characteristic of a mother. This instinct holds no bond between
blood or DNA. The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver supplies the perfect evidence
for that. The love, commitment and sacrifices made in the novel show how any
woman, or any man for that matter, can have maternal instincts. Through love,
hardships and fate, each character in this novel proves how maternal instincts can be
found by anyone, used by most and appreciated by all. The first evidence behind this
is thrown to the reader immediately. Taylor and her mother, Alice, had the type of
bond which is rare to find in this day and age. Being a single mother, Alice raised

Comment and Response to Texting and Writing by

Comment and Response to Texting and Writing by Michaela Cullington After reading
Texting and Writing, by Michaela Cullington, I do not agree with many of her
viewpoints. Cullington argues that texting does not affect a students writing.
Textspeak, the abbreviation and shortening of words like used when writinga text
message, does affect the way a student writes because they use the abbreviations, and
their writings tend to lack punctuation. When a writer uses excessive abbreviations
on a regular basis they can get stuck in the writer s head causing them to use them in
all of their writings. Cullington did make good points of her own opinion on texting
and writing in her piece, but I disagree with her and believe that texting and... Show

Cullington recalled a few examples that teachers found while reading papers, 2
instead of to, ; gr8, instead of great, ; dat, in place of that, ; g2g, for got to go, ; hbu,
instead of how about you, ; cuz, to replace because, ; and wut, for what, . Textspeak
is a dangerous way to write, and once a writer learns and gets used to writing that
way, writing papers for school becomes more and more difficult. A common acronym
is LOL which is an abbreviation for laugh out loud. The abbreviated for LOL would
not be acceptable for an academic paper. Our current generation needs to pay more
attention when writing, and to use correct spelling and not use acronyms to
shorten their written ideas. Writing College, Writing Life s article Learning the
Language by Perri Klass talks about how some professions require abbreviations,
which is one of the few times it is accecptable. Abbrevaitons can be helpful and an
easy way to write a few words in just a few letters. Teachers do not like
abbreviations because the writer tends to assume the reader knows what each
acronym means, the paper should be and enjoyable read, not a confusing puzzle.
While writing a paper for school teachers do not approve of abbreviation and
acronyms, the writer should just take his or her time to write our each word correctly.
Michaela Cullington believes that texting

the hearts of many. They will do whatever it takes to stay in power over the country
that they rule. One such ruler is named Idi Amin. Idi was a ruler who abused his
power and saw himself as someone who was a man of influence.
Idi Amin was born on 1925 in Koboka, Uganda (History.com). He was raised with
little to no education, but quickly found his place in the world. He joined the King s
African Rifles (KAR) and quickly rose through the ranks.Milton Obote had become
the first prime minister of Uganda in 1962. He had forged an alliance with Amin,
who helped expand the size of the Ugandan military. After a few assassination
attempts, Obote began to question Amin s loyalty and ordered his arrest. When the
leader of Uganda was away, Amin staged a coup and seized the government. Idi took
the government with blood, which isn t surprising due to his reputation (History.com).
Idi earned his reputation through the killing of about 500,000 people (History.com).
He started off by executing members of the Acholi and Lango tribes that had been
loyal to Obote, and set up agencies to eliminate anyone opposed to his regime. Within
his rule he expelled Uganda s entire Asian population, resulting in a collapse of the
economy as manufacturing,
Causes Of The Downfall Of Macbeth
Ambition may create a fire of motivation inside one s heart, but if that fire is not
controlled, it will cause the person to be consumed by greed, and ultimately cause his
/her downfall. William Shakespeare s Macbeth talks about an ambitious man,
Macbeth, who murders the King of Scotland, Duncan, in order to obtain power for
himself. Once Macbethbecomes king, however, he finds his newfound power being
constantly threatened. To rid himself of this feeling of insecurity, Macbeth kills
many people, including Banquo, his close friend and ally. Once a much admired
hero of Scotland, Macbeth s repeated acts of violence he murders his king, his close
friend and ally, and the defenseless wife and family of his kinsman reveal a desperate

Macbeth decided to murder Macduff s family before he loses his drive to kill. The

Theodor Herzl
Initially, Zionism was the major cause of the formation of the State of Israel. It was
established by Theodor Herzl in 1897 and later led by Chaim Weizmann. Mr. Herzl
was an assimilated Jewish lawyer from Vienna that fully understood the Jews. He
quoted once, Zionism demands for a publicly recognized and legally secured
homeland in Palestine for the Jews. This platform is unchangeable . The quote
means that Zionism was established to request and achieve a homeland for the Jews
in Palestine and that no one can stop this from happening. Basically, this proves that
Mr. Herzl was a very supportive man towards the Jews and He understood what they
needed. In 1894, Mr. Herzl was sent to France to investigate on the life imprisonment

What Is The Diction In The Call Of The Wild
Call Of The Wild
In the classic, Call Of The Wild, by Jack London, Buck, a southland dog from
California, is sold off to gold seekers during the Alaskan Gold Rush. He is thrust
into the brutal and unforgiving life of a sled dog and is vilely treated. Buck then
must adapt to the harsh life he has been placed into by learning to fight and survive
in order to prosper. Years after he was drafted into the gold rush, he is rescued from
his suffering by a man named John Thornton. While bonding with John, Buck is also
growing closer to nature. When Buck was out exploring, John s camp was attacked
by indians, and he is killed. Buck then decides to return to the wild and live like his
ancestors. The author is highly intentional of the diction used in ... Show more content

This first theft marked Buck as fit to survive in the hostile Northland environment.
It marked his adaptability, and his capacity to adjust himself to changing
conditions, the lack of which would have meant swift and terrible death. It marked,
further, the decay or going to pieces of his moral nature, a vain thing and a
handicap in the ruthless struggle for existence. It was all well enough in the
Southland, under the law of love and fellowship, to respect private property and
personal feelings; but in the Northland, under the law of club and fang, whoso took
such things into account was a fool, and in so far he observed them he would fail to

Ryanair has minimised and continues to reduce fuel burn and CO2 emissions per

The Effect Of Temperature And Reactant Concentration
On...
This experiment aimed to investigate the relationship between temperature and
reactant concentration on the rate of reaction for the hydrolysis of tert Butyl
Chloride, and to determine the validity of the proposed mechanism for the reaction. It
was hypothesised that measuring the kinetics of this unimolecular substitution
reaction would demonstrate the reaction ratefor the hydrolysis of tert Butyl Chloride
utilising acetone as the solventwhich should increase with both its increased
concentration and temperature, to produce the product tert Butyl alcohol.
When the solution of tert butyl chloride in acetone is added to water in the
presence of a base and a universal indicator, its reaction to form tert butyl alcohol is
indicated by dramatic color change. Bromothymol blue is an acid base indicator
which appears blue in an alkaline medium and yellow in an acidic solution (Artxy,
2011). The solvolysis of tert butyl chloride is revealed by the indicator change from
blue to yellow as hydrogen halide is produced during the reaction (Mostafa, 2009).
The solution is initially blue because of its Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) content
(alkaline), and the colour change results as aqueous chlorine removes a proton from
the transition state, while the generated hydrogen ions neutralise the hydroxide ions
of the NaOH, causing the change in the pH of the system (Riley, 1977). This
qualitatively determines that the rate of reaction is dependent on the concentration of
tert butyl chloride.
Cultural Competency On Healthcare Delivery
As the diverse populations of the United States (U.S.) continues to grow the need for
cultural competency in healthcare delivery requires culturally competent healthcare
providers. Each population has its own particular norms and practices that guide their
lifestyles; therefore, a challenge arises for healthcare providers to learn to provide
culturally sensitive care to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds (Waite and
Calamaro 2010). The ever changing population of the U.S. signifies a much needed
change in health care delivery to different cultures. The U.S. Bureau of Census (1992)
predicts that by the year 2020 only 53 % of the population will be of white European
decent. Unfortunately, the lack of culturally competent healthcare providers such as
nurses, leads to negative patient outcomes and low quality healthcare. Culturally
competent nurses are required to adequately treat our culturally diverse population.
Nurses are frontline patient advocates and education and training in cultural
competence is an intervention that will implement positive changes in healthcare
delivery in the U.S.
Definition of Cultural Competence
Professional nursing services provided utilizing cultural competence is a way of
providing healthcare to a diverse population without bias to patient s cultural beliefs.
Increasing cultural competence and providing culturally congruent care in nursing
can improve the quality of care and health outcomes (Ahmann 2002).

Why Did The Communist Party Win The 1935 Election

Why Did the Communist Party Win the 1935 Election Simulation? In a time where
the economy is suffering and people are struggling, a strong government is needed
to help everyone achieve success. As a result, the Communist party won the 1935
election simulation because their leader addressed the concerns of nearly every
voting bloc, they had eye catching posters with a memorable slogan, and they
targeted the Conservatives, one of the main political parties. First and foremost,
Tim Buck, the leader of the Communist party, addressed the concerns of nearly
every voting bloc at the election. One of the concerns of recent immigrants was the
perception that they will work for less and are taking away jobs from the other
Canadians. Thus, Tim addressed the concern and assured a positive change, as he

structure accumulated with love, memories, and lessons learned. Homes have

longer viewed as places of experience and reminiscence, they are given a literal and
unemotional purpose. Perhaps the reason as to why nearly one million people are

A home is comparable to a diary. One can come home to it and express all the
emotions present. A bond is formed amongst a home and an individual because when
one has a bad day, they can come home to the familiar essence that comforts their
pain. Homes help those accept and receive love. A home is a place of comfort, which
is often a characteristic of love. One s home is where memories are formed.
Though a home doesn t have emotions, it remains a support system that one
willingly accepts everyday. Homeless individuals don t experience this unique
love. They are deprived of it. In On Compassion , Ascher states He does not know
his part . The homeless man has never been on the receiving end of love from a
home. He has never experienced the embrace of a gift and therefore cannot accept
the love and compassion the woman is giving him. Home is where the heart is and
where there is no home, there is no heart.
Homes help provide consistency and a sense of ownership. That was the crux of it;
not size or location, but pride of ownership. Painted blue. The size of the home isn t

Music And Its Influence On The Italian Genre
Throughout history, various styles of music have developed to further the evolution
and complexity of music, wether it be commissioned by nobility or, composed for the
enjoyment of the normal, common populace. English madrigals, though not the
longest lasting style, is one such form of music that has had a lasting impact on the
continuing composition of music. Madrigals are defined four ways in A History of
Western Music. The fourth definition, English polyphonic work imitating the Italian
genre, is what will be covered in this paper but, to understand this definition, the other
four must be explored. Madrigals originated as a musical style in Italy in the 14th
Century, but, the style came around again in the 16th century (1588 1627), much
more popular and extremely more influential than the previous incarnation of
madrigals. Madrigals are songs in a poetic setting, such as a sonnet, or, another
nonrepetative verse form. Madrigals in England developed at the same time as mass
music printing, under William Byrd, although he himself eventually stopped
composing madrigals. In volume 15 of the Second Edition of The Grove Dictionary
of Music and Musicians, as to the circumstances of the rise of the madrigal, it states:
A favourable literary situation developed in the 1570s, when Spenser, Sidney and
other new poets undertook a comprehensive reform of native poetry along Italian
lines. From here, Musica transalpina was translated by Nicholas Yonge. Musica

Emma Eulogy Speech
I m sure most of you know who I am, and I feel very honored that I was asked to
speak on her behalf. Emma and I have been friends for a very long time and I
thought I would start by telling the story of Emma s life. She was born on April 3,
2001, here in Carroll. In her younger years she was temperamental, and had some
great stories to prove it. She screamed like she was getting murdered because her
mother wouldn t buy her a baby doll. She cried for a five hour car ride because she
received the wrong kind of hash browns. I think all these moments just made her
familylove her more and set the level of her sassiness for her future.
As she grew up her sassiness never went away. In high school she was just as sassy
as she was when she was born, and at her work she was even called the sass master.
She kept her sass through college and until the day she died. It was one of my
favorite qualities of hers. Besides being sassy she was a natural born leader. Her
coaches and teachers would tell her so. When she was in high school she was a
part of student council and at her college she was a part of the student government.
After college she took a job at her old high school, Glidden Ralston. While she was
working there she met her husband Liam Roberts. They dated for several years
before he proposed.
I remember their proposal. Liam had asked me to help him with it because he never
wanted Emma to forget it. Emma loved goats, like LOVED them. So I told him that
he needed to ask her with
Letters from an American Farmer Essay
We Are America
America a land known for its ideals of freedom and new opportunities, a nation built
under the idea that every man and women is created equal. However, the definition of
what makes a person an American is entirely different from what it is that makes up
America, itself. J.Hector St. John Crevecoeur, author of Letters from an American
Farmer (1782), exposes what he believes makes an American. However, when
compared to the standards of what makes an American in today s world, it seems that
becoming an American then was much simpler then, than it is today. The definitionof
an American is always evolving due to the influences of our changing nation. During
a simpler time, Crevecoeur defined an American as someone of European ... Show

though time has changed some of America s original ideals. Nowadays, becoming an

is the process of applying for citizenship, something that has now become a big part of

Examples Of Existentialism In As You Like It
SHAKESPEAREAN PLAY PHILOSOPHY The play to be reviewed is As You Like
It, written by William Shakespeare. The prevailing philosophy throughout the play is
existentialism. What is existentialism? Existentialism can be defined through its
ontology. Ontology is the study of the nature of reality and is also called the theory
of reality. The ontologyof existentialismcan be discussed in under concepts of man
and existence. In the concept of man, existentialists believe that man is not bound by
any antecedent human nature but rather free to determine its own nature. It opposed
those deterministic theories (ex. inborn talents, predestined path of life, etc.) and
favoured principle of indeterminism. To be a man is to be undetermined, to be free....

According to Heidegger, man can only reflect his real self to his self. Man cannot
be what he is not. He can be what he is already: his existence. He further says that
humans were temporal beings. It finds itself finite because he was bound in time
and the space he was experiencing. And when man finds itself finite, his existence
would be doomed. But by his free will, he can overcome these threats to his
existence. For Heidegger, on the one hand man is creator of his own experience and
on the other hand, he is subject of his experience. If man accepts the responsibility
for developing his own being then he has true human aspects in his personality. In
the concept of existence, existentialists differentiate the verb to exist from the verb
to live . For them, existence means a full, self conscious, responsible and growing
life. Existentialists divided the concept of existence between authentic existence, and
inauthentic existence. A man can live in an unauthentic existence by being a
member of a group that is absorbed only in things and details of everyday life. But a
man can live in an authentic existence by living through his choices. As quoted from
Marcel, to exist means not just to be present to my own aware ness
Drinking Alcohol
Around the country there have been issues with the use of alcohol on college
campuses. The consumption of alcohol causes problems with the student s
education, health, and behavior. Many universities have had difficulties solving
these problems. Alcohol should be banned from college campuses. First, alcohol
effects the student s education. Over half of all college students have reported
drinking between the ages of eighteen and twenty four ( Alcohol Fact ). Of that
fraction of students, twenty five percent of them have experienced challenges with
their academics ( The Burden of ). For most college students, drinking has become
a part of their lives. Not only are these students drinking on the weekends, they are
also staying out late on school nights to party with friends; this can result in an act
of binge drinking. Binge drinking is when there is an excessive amount of alcohol
consumed in a short period of time ( Binge Drinking ). In a national survey, it
reported that students who took part in binge drinking were more likely to do
poorly in a class than those students who drank fewer times a week ( The Burden
of ). By doing this they are risking the chance of oversleeping or not being able to
focus in class the next day. In college, attendance mentally and physically is
important. If a student fails at either one of them multiple times, the chance of them
failing the class is very likely. Failing a class in which the parents or students are
paying for is a waste of

However, in one way, inheritance actually breaks encapsulation! * As already
mentioned, Encapsulation is the process of packaging classes into the public
interface and the private implementation. * In essence, a class hides everything that is
not necessary for other classes to know about. * It makes a case that when using
inheritance, Encapsulation is inherently weakened within a class hierarchy, Because
it introduces a specific risk as Inheritance connotes strong encapsulation with other
classes but weak encapsulation between a superclass and its subclasses. * The
problem is that if you inherit an implementation from a super class and then change
that implementation, the change from the super class ripples through the class
hierarchy. * This rippling effect potentially affects all the subclasses. At first, this
might not seem like a major problem; however, as we have seen, a rippling effect
such as this can cause unanticipated problems. * For example, testing can become a
nightmare. * But with proper implementation of Encapsulation makes testing systems
easier. Reference [1] Encapsulation, updated last April, 2014, Available: http:/

Religion Is Not A Problem With Religion
Religion can unquestionably establish bonds amongst communities and societies. The
encouraging role of faith has tended to be overlooked due to other world affairs.
Emile Durkheim summarised religion as body of practices and beliefs that act as a
basis of identification. Therefore theoretical understandings can demonstrate that
terrorism is not a problem with religion. Durkheim went further by declaring that
religion maintains social order and allows for social cohesion (Boundless, 2015).
According to Emile Durkheim all societies have religion which offers meaning to
life as well as enforcing religious morals and norms respectably. Similarly German
sociologist Max Weberconcluded that religion brings meaning to life through
specific codes of conducts. Guidelines are set in order to follow the desired
behaviour. This becomes a central element as Weber believes that humans have
always been challenged by crisis which is logically acceptable (Priya, 2014). As
opposed to religion being a problem, scholars have forwarded the idea that faith
controls order and impacts how one is to live in the expectation of a successful
afterlife. Religion also makes us put up with inequalities because of the concept of
afterlife. This questions if terrorism is a problem with a religion. A database was
gathered showing terrorist attacks on American soil from 1980 to 2005. In response
to the media effect, data presented considerably different findings. A figure of 13%
was the amount in which
Acid Base Gas Case Study
After examining the acid base gas levels, the patient is diagnosed with metabolic
alkalosis with partial compensation because of the increase of base components due
to baking soda consumption and the decrease of acid components by excessive
vomiting. The patient s pH level is 7.48, which is above the normal range of 7.35
7.45 labeling it a base. A base lowers the amount of free hydrogen ions in solution
and although a weak base, it can prevent major changes in the body fluid pH. An
example of a weak base is bicarbonate or HCO3 which levels are high as well at
34mEq/L. The normal range for HCO3 is 22 24. The PaCO2 level of 55mmHg is
labeled an aciddue to its high level. The normal range is 35 45 with less than 35
resulting in alkalosis and greater than 45 as acidosis. The acid base balance of the
bloodhas an excess of base resulting in alkalosis. Alkalosis is a decrease in the free

Because of the severity of the alkalosis, the patient experienced a generalized
motor seizure caused by the overexcitement of the nervous system. The imbalance
is dangerous for an 83 year old patient because someone with alkalosis has muscle
weakness that can result in falls. Older patients taking drugs and with chronic
health problems are at greater risk for acid base imbalance due to breathing
problems as well as hypokalemia. The renal function is less effective due to thee
increased excretion of bicarbonate. (Ignatavicius, 2015). By understanding the cause
and effects of acid base imbalances, interventions can be made to ensure patient
safety and better health care. Acid base imbalances in elderly patients are dangerous
due to the increased health problems they have as well as certain drugs that are taken
that may lead to other problems such as hypokalemia and
Negligence Liability
It is foreseeable that future manufacturers will not be as compliant as some
manufacturers are today in being held strictly reliable. To entice manufacturers, and
relieve their concerns they will not be unfairly held accountable for the negligence
of drivers; it is significant to discuss how a driver could be at fault. Negligence
liability (NL) is less efficient than that of SPL because it requires a higher
burdened of proof. A court will recognize negligence when (1) an act or a failure to
act falls below the standard of due care (i.e. a breach), that act or failure (2) actually
and proximately caused an injury to a third party whom (3) a duty was owed. In such

In fact, arguably, negligence is more efficient and fair than strict liability as
negligence has a better ability on deterring specific negative conduct while still
enabling an injured party to be compensated. Despite the potential benefit of being
more efficient and fair, the legal costs associated with a comparative negligence
doctrine are higher than that of a SPL. In a comparative negligence doctrine
defendants that believe they are only partially liable in an accident may tend to opt
for a hearing in court over accepting a settlement agreement. Selecting to enter court
proceedings instead of accepting a efficient timely settlement, raises attorney fees,
administrative costs, and further burdens the court system. Juries that lack expertise
also tend to return bias monetary verdicts. This can be observed by looking at the
verdicts returned in the Toyota s electronic throttle case, where juries gave large

I was regretting this decision immensely. But it took a change. There was a point
where I ran for senate and had to create a speech. I m horrible at writing speeches
and public speaking, I could never put my scattered thoughts into a well formed
essay, but I managed to write a decent one at one in the morning before going to bed.
I prayed that it was good enough for a brain that had lack of sleep. Later that day, we
all gathered at the chamber, some of us were apprehensive to be on the stage to
present our speeches. All too fast it was my turn and I got to say that I actually did a
great job. I was a nervous wreck but managed to present my case with a calmness in
my voice. I could feel everyone s eyes on me as they listen carefully to what I had to
say. Surprisingly, I didn t fail, though I didn t get to say all of what I had on my paper
since there was a time limit. I still ended at a good part, it even sounded like it was
supposed to be the end of my speech. After everyone was heard, the votes were
counted and I was shocked to find that I had been elected to be on the

Abstract
Advanced Television (DTV) is a propelled television innovation that has changed the
TV review experience. It is a superior television format that delivers better pictures
and sound, uses the broadcast spectrum more efficiently, and adds versatility to the
range of applications. Often referred to as DTV, digital televisionalso represents a
new technological infrastructure for broadcasting and thus a new economic and
competitive paradigm.
This study will attempt to evaluate job satisfaction in Digital TV companies with
reference to StarTimes digital TV. It focuses on relative importance of performance
appraisal and job satisfaction factors and their impacts on the overall job satisfaction
of employees. It also investigates the impacts of digital type, work experience, age
and sex differences on the attitudes towards job satisfaction. The result will show
whether salary, efficiency in work, fringe supervision, and co worker relation are the
The Icon Of Grease Will Never Lose Devotion
The Icon of Grease Will Never Lose Devotion For a movie released in 1978 it still
holds true to the drama of high school and the cliche of summer love. Grease
became a classic for the same reasons as American Graffiti, it explored the life of
teens and culture during the fifties. The film director Randal Kleiser cast a previous
academy award nominee, John Travoltaand rising Australian star Olivia Newton
John and it now is the epitome of their careers. The musical is a romantic comedy
that takes place in the late fifties with a summer fling between greaser Danny Zuko
and good girl Sandy. They parted with the conclusion of summer, but when school
resumes, they find themselves attending the same high school. It follows Danny
and Sandy as well as the perspective friend groups the t birds and pink ladies.
Grease is a musical that is both iconic and forever relatable with it s lively music,
dancing, humor and simple story lines. Some would consider the casting in Grease
to be a flaw because they are meant to portray teenagers and all the main actors and
actresses were well into their twenties. Stockard Channing, who played Rizzo was
thirty three when they began filming, Olivia Newton John was twenty eight, and
John Travolta was twenty three. They cast doesn t even look like they could be high
school students, but I think it was worth it to be able to include good actors and
actresses. Furthermore, from the feminist perspective the movie is categorized as bad
because of the
Arab Refugee Crises And The Balkan Wars Of The 1990s
The world is growing at such an intensely fast rate that it can t keep up with itself.
Looking at countries like China and India that are just piling on top of each other,
one gets a bit of an understanding of just how cram packed the world has become.
With one billion people in India, a region half the size of the U.S, we can see that
this could create a problem if there was a disaster, or an internal issue in that nation.
Europeis now faced with one of the biggest influx of people that it has seen since
the Balkan wars of the 1990s.( Anne Paludan: Refugees in Europe) Failed states
have created such terrible living conditions of fear and unlivable habitats that
people are desperate to get to safe locations. Why is there such a large number of
refugees, and how can Europe create a system through its politics to combat the
issues that come with a mass influx of refugees? Are terrorists the ones to blame for
all Syrian refugeecrises? Does Islamic radicalism play a key roll in the reason for
war in the Middle East, or are westerners ignorant to the reasons behind these
current crises? Are there any systems that can be put in place to help migrants and
refuges, or is the key to Europe s on going sustainability going to be the refusal and
removal of refugees? These questions are not easy to answer and have to be looked
at with open eyes, and sensitivity to such a complicated issue. However, the terror of
hundreds of thousands of people on the move, risking their lives across

Though, something was telling her that her time was now, and she needed to
make it big soon, she just had a feeling something big was going to come. So, she
dropped out of Tisch and began sinning a dive bars and performing at go go
dancing clubs, until someone notices her talent. Akon was the one who discovered
this amazing dime, and signed her under one of his labels, Interscopes. Then it was
just history from there on, making headlines, changing pop music, and taking risk
no other pop star at the time would take. As Lady Gaga keeps growing into her
career, she has already accomplished so much in a time span of 8 years now, that it
seems that nothing can slow her down. With her first album, The Fame, selling 28
million records alone worldwide, and her third album, Born This Way, selling 1.2
million records in just one week. It s hard to say there isn t anything she can t sell.
She has garnered 6 Grammys over the years and over 380 awards for her music,
acting, and foundation organization. But not all this came without a price to pay.
Gaga has dealt with public hate, rape, substance abuse, depression, and family
withdrawals. Through Gaga s music you can always hear her pain, struggle, and
heartbreak, and that s just another reason she is so easy to connect with, because
she makes it easy to relate to her as a human, not some God . Once Gaga released
her most inspirational album, Born This Way, she gained millions of new fans that

A Summary On The Film The Night
Over the colossal castle, the spherical star above leaned cautiously. The noose
eclipsed the sunlight; relentless guards grabbed their attention of every creature
which had clinking chains glued to their soiled feet. Led by enslaving chains; the mist
blew through the ashen compound. As dejected hostages babbled helplessly, faint
whimpers deafened the abominable scene. Masking beats of drums pursued every
hesitant shuffle.
Anxiously, the morose hostages scuffled onwards; they limped in desperation onto
the wooden deck. The inmates blistered, wounded soles struggled. Wrapping it
around the peasant s bony neck, scraping away at the remaining skin, the ruffian
beast grabbed the noose. Mercilessly, he grasped the corroded lever and heaved it. ...

The atmosphere created a faded glow that crept behind them. Their vacant eyes had
such a vivid blue in life that made the others afraid to see what they looked like after
death. Their luminous and gleam of their eyes would soon cease and never return.
The hostage s last image in their minds would be pale, dreary corpses which are
discarded.
A clammed breeze lifted the cinders from the gallows, shrouding the atmosphere in a
copper haze. The silver coin reflected with its qualities of molten riches; weathered
by its eternal existence, it sat in the diminutive palm of his hand. The relic glistened
in the sun. With apprehensive energy, his eyes coruscated as a celestial voice broke
out of him; the ruthless executioner yanked the defenceless child onto the wooden
barrel, putting a noose around head as it swallowed it whole. As he sang, he reflected
on his mortal life; knowing it would vanish briskly. The adolescence, timid boy s soul
poured past the rotten, blanched ground which flawed into the emotions of the aghast
crowd. Just then, death was roused. Dubiously, the vigorous executioner marched
behind him, wondering what raised his feeble audacity.
Surrounding him, there was an aura of ashen charcoal; a state of abasement that he
couldn t see himself through. It was a world of obscurity; the glossy glint he had
revealed. His melancholy, colourless eyes spoke of his depraved anguish.
Swing Dance In The 1930 s
There are so many styles of dance that came together to eventually evolve into what
swing dance is today. In the early 20 s and 30 s there was the Lindy Hop, Balboa,
Shag and the Charleston. Some of these dance forms such as the Lindy Hop and the
Charleston started as an eight count done in four steps then it evolved in the 1930 s to
an eight count with 10 steps. During this time swingdancehad some substantial
changes due to music and regional influences.
At the start of the 40 s the era of Big Bands became very popular and swing dance
was easily adapted to this style of music giving that fast percussion beats in this
genre. It brought about new styles such as the St.Louis shag and the Carolina shag
and even stayed very popular till the end of the 1940 s.
In the 1950 s after WWII brought about the rebellious generation that sparked the
creation of Rock Roll and Rhythm and Blues, swing dance was still popular ... Show

The goal is to provide a competitive performance venue that exhibits these various
styles. These performances are judged under a certain criteria such as timing,
teamwork, and technique. There are also different types of competitions within
swing dance like Jack and Jill, Showcase and Classic competitions. Some
competitions even go by experience level such as beginner, Intermediate and
Advanced. Most competitions can only hold about twelve couples at a time and if
the it exceeds that amount they can hold qualifying rounds. Once they get down to
about twenty four couples there will be a quarter final round with two separate
rounds for a set of twelve couples each. Afterwards they hold a semi final round, one
round of twelve couples. Lastly, the final round which can have up to 6
Essay on Division of labor in a Household
Division of labor in a Household
The division of labor in the household hold depends on the environment. Society
creates gender ideology that affects the roles women and men take on in the
household. In The Second Shift by Arlie Russell, she states three different ideologies
of gender. There is the traditional, transitional and egalitarian ideology that
determines what sphere men and women want to identify with, home sphere or work
sphere. However, it depends what kind on the time period and society you live in that
determines the norm gender ideology, which affects the division of labor in a
household. The society, which affected the Mendoza and Ortega family that I have
observed and interviewed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women are working more and identify their womanhood with the paid work as
men do. Hochschild has claimed that in 1950, 30% of women were in the labor
force, but in 2002, 60%, of women were working outside the home in the labor force.
Women are working more outside from the house was one change, but another
significant transformation that occurred in the family devotion scheme was that
women have fewer children then they use to. During the 1800 s women had eight
children, but in 1988 the average less than two children. Having less children and
working outside the house affected the house devotion scheme. With the shift from
working at home (private farms) to working in the labor force, now men and women
are working outside the home creating dilemmas with the second shift (housework).
Today, it s 63% of all marriage with children is of two job marriage. Some mothers
work fulltime, but others work part time due to the family devotion scheme.
With mothers working either fulltime and part time, there has been mommy wars ,
coined by Nina Darnton in 1990. This dilemma, the mommy wars, constitutes of two
socially constructed cultural images on how mothers should behave. One of the
socially contracted images of mothers is the traditional mother or stay at home mom.
On the other hand, there is a portrait of the supermom or the working mother. This
Chemistry Application And Mathematically Wise
Chemistry, that one class that people really either love or hate, but it s here to stay
and nothing more to it. It s simply as through the years experience of it, math and
some understanding of combining 2 random things together and hope to see what
happens from there and what else we can do that different things. But that s just the
way I see it and should be taken with a grain of salt as there s probably more to it.
The introduction into chemistryis one that gets the student comfortable with the
future material that will be coming up ahead in the next few weeks of their lives.
Beginning it off with some of the basic ideas of chemistry, the 1st chapter
introduces us into the world of chemistry application and mathematically wise. But
we could reiterate a weeks worth of lecture into possible a paragraph or two but it
seems like a lot of this stuff seems very self explanatory once you get into the big
juicy parts. The basic components of the different types of mixtures and pure
substances. Pure substances are divided into two categories elements and compounds.
I want to specifically touch on elements for a moment. Essentially they are a type of
pure substance that can t be broken down into smaller substances by any means. They
are more indestructible than Superman because kryptonite is actually based off the
element, krypton which is his weakness. Though there are multiple elements in the
planet, they are all categorized into a nice table which I ll get into later on.
Stereotypes Of Latinos Essay
Latinos in U. S. A. and Hollywood s Discrimination
Hispanic or Latino, is a segment of the population in the States of the American
Union that has grown in quantity, economy and education, and everything indicates
that it would continue in the same way, as a result of the Hispanic people has
inhabited here, even before this country conformed as the United States. Latinos also
have made important contributions to this country in all aspects and levels and
areas to society, of the sort of the arts, sports and politics. Cinema is considered an
art, the seventh art, as well it is a form of expression and reflection of society and
its times. In consequence, filming is a very important business, and Hollywood is
the mecca of the industry. Then, we could expect that the significance of their
presence would be properly portrayed. But, to the contrary to we might assume, we
see in Hollywood s filmography that they have been assigned few roles, which are
also mostly stereotyped and unflattering. In this essay, we will review some ... Show

All these stereotypes of immigrants and Latinos definitely impact the opinions and
attitudes that non Latinos can have towards Latinos and immigrants. It is true that
immigrants are not all Latinos, many also come from Europe, Asia, etc. It is also
true that not all Latinos are the best persons, and some of them have fallen entangled
into the judicial system. But not all Latins are criminals, these represents a minority
and it is not fair to generalize, as well in the system exist White persons and from all
other races. And many of these cases could be blamed to the lack of opportunities.
Then, these stereotypes do not reflect the reality or values of the Hispanic
community, which mostly are honest and hardworking, family oriented, and religious
Tuberculosis Vaccination Research
The decision to vaccinate or to not vaccinate a child against a particular disease is a
modern controversial subject. When in regard to the tuberculosis vaccination, parents
in the United States should vaccinate their children. Tuberculosis is a disease caused
by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that most commonly affects the lungs. The etiologic
agent can be expelled from one infected person via a sneeze or a cough, and enter the
air and then the body of another person, leading to another infected person (
Tuberculosis, 2012). According to What is TB? (n.d.), someone who has diagnosed
tuberculosis but is not receiving any form of treatment can pass the disease to up
to 15 people in on year. Treatment of TB is necessary, so if symptoms are ignored,
an infected person could die. Prevalence of this disease is not as common in the
United States as it is in other countries. In 2014, there were approximately 9,421
reported cases; trends show that TB prevalence continues to decreases each year. Of...

Since 1921, this vaccination had been used in prevention of TB infections and in
present day is the only licensed vaccine in use as a prevention tool for tuberculosis.
Unfortunately, the effectiveness of BCG is not very high, as there is still close to
9 million people every year globally being infected by tuberculosis. The vaccination
has about an 80% effectiveness in prevention of tuberculosis for 15 years, but as
people get older, BCG seems to be decreasingly effective. One of the more crucial
prevention techniques for avoiding tuberculosis is simply by having a healthy and
non compromised immune system. Adults who are considered to have a healthy
immune system are automatically at an advantage; their immune systems will most
likely be able to kill Mycobacterium tuberculosis on its own. About 6/10 of all adults
will have immune systems that are powerful enough to do so ( What is TB? ,
Gender Inequality Affects The Entire World
Gender inequality affects the entire world. It exists everywhere you look and in
everything you do, the workplace being the most prominent. Peggy Young, a
former UPS worker, experienced gender inequality. Due to her pregnancy, she was
no longer able to lift the seventy pounds UPS required of the drivers, so she
requested a change in workload. The company declined and put her on an unpaid
leave ultimately leading to a lawsuit. In March of 2015, the Supreme Court ruled in
Young s favor because of the past accommodations UPS made for workers who could
not work up to their standards because of physical restriction (Zhou).Genderbias
prevails mainly in jobs and schools. The average person does not realize how bad
the workplace can be for inequality against women, so it is very shocking to them
when they find out that women only make $.79 to a man s dollar (Covert). In
order to prevent this unfair persecution of women, several changes need to occur in
order to achieve gender equality and close the wage gap. However, the Supreme
Court needs to take a big step and pass legislation ensuring women equal and fair
treatment for women in all areas of society, especially in the workplace. If men and
women make equal pay, it will affect the lives of everyone, therefore both genders
need to strive to achieve this goal.
In most cases, gender bias and stereotypes in the workplace is traceable to the
stereotypes ingrained in people s minds while in school. Society expects young
children to
Emergency Management Act Of 1934 Essay
Emergency Management begin in the 1800 s. New Hampshire had a fire that
destroyed most of the city. The city needed financial aid to help with the recovery
efforts. In 1803, a Congressional Act was passed in order to help the town recover
from the devastating loss.
This is an example of what would be the Federal government participation in a local
disaster.
In the 1930 s, the Reconstruction Finance Corporation and the Bureau of Public
Roads was given the ability to give disaster loans to aid in the recovery process
(FEMA.gov) During this time, a noteworthy, significant piece of emergency
management legislation was passed by Congress (FEMA.gov). It was the Flood
Control Act of 1934. This Act gave U.S. Army Corps of Engineers the ability to plan
and construct flood control projects.
Through the years Emergency Management has taken on new forms. Initially there
were over 100 departments overseeing emergency management. It was not until June
19, 1978, that President Carter announced a plan to provide the launching of the
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The FEMA Director would report
to the President of the United States of America. In 1992, Hurricane Andrew struck
the state of Florida, and FEMA was evidently not prepared to handle such an event. It
was clear that FEMA s partners at the State level were also not prepared to handle
such an event. Across the United States, news stations were showing and
documenting the failures of the State and FEMA. The
Motivating
When announcing any significant change to the location or way work is
conducted, employees must be handled in a gentle manner. These are the people
who conduct business for the organization on a daily basis and their interests and
opinions must be considered. Employees will work hard as long as wages,
working conditions, and hours are reasonable. Motivating employees to work can
be an easy task or considerably challenging. Employees thrive off of their leaders
behaviors and how they are treated on a daily basis.
As a company decides to move employees have an enormous amount of things to
consider. A few of my concerns with employees moving are; cost of living at the

As their supervisor, I would not hold these needs over their heads, but I would
surely make them aware that their performance over the last 60 days would be a

According to, Charisma on Command (2014) Steve Jobs felt that people with
passion can change the world for the better. Employees are one of an organization s
most valued commodities. Businesses that close their doors and fail to notify their
employees have completely failed in providing employees with alternatives. I would
treat each and every employee fairly, but also understand that all 500 employees will
not be happy.
To earn leadership status, a person must consistently pair what is said with what is
done (Daniels, 2014). I truly agree with this statement and lived by it for 22 years
in the Army. I would never ask an employee of Soldier of mine to do anything
immoral, illegal, or anything that I would not do myself. I have always learned
leadership is the act of providing purpose, direction, and motivation and this has to be
done daily. By considering all the issues that are associated with moving the call
center, employees will see that I am taking their wants and needs seriously. All
employees not moving will be afforded letters of recommendations for future
employment outside of the call center. I will ensure my employees realize that I have

The condenser also functions to maintain the temperature throughout the heating
process and thereby maximizing the accuracy of the experimental results. The
addition of boiling chips in the heating process to dissolve the diphenyl serves to
minimize the possibility of the occurrence of bumping, i.e. sudden explosive boiling
whereby large bubbles erupt from the heated solution. Instead, a steady stream of
small air bubbles is produced with the addition of the chips.
Subsequently after complete dissolving of the crude diphenyl, an additional 15 mL
of ethanol is added to ensure that all the crude diphenyl is dissolved. A small
amount of decolourising charcoal is added to the solution mixture. The
decolourising charcoal serves to remove any impurities in the mixture, by adsorbing
substances responsible for colouration of the solution on its surface via its activated
properties. A small amount is used as the desired product may be adsorbed as well if
a large amount is used instead.
The mixture is filtered via a preheated stemless glass funnel immediately after boiling
for 10 15 minutes. This is to prevent any early crystallization of the mixture since its
crystallization temperature is quite low. The use of preheated apparatus for filtrationis
also to minimize premature crystallization of the mixture. Filtration of the mixture
while it is still hot is to
Battle of Bull Run Essay
In Virginia the first battle of the Civil War was fought, near Manassas, Virginia
railroad junction, after which the battle is called (or First Bull Run, named after the
flowing stream on the battlefield, if of the Union point of view). The armies in this
first battle were not prodigious by later Civil War principles. The Federal services
under Brigadier General Irvin McDowell were well thought out into four divisions, of
about 30,000 men. These divisions were commanded by Tyler, Hunter, Heintzelman,
and Miles. The Confederatecommand structure was to some extent more
unmanageable, including two quot;armies quot;, with no division structure and

General Patterson whose responsibility it was to keep General Johnson s troops
occupied in the Shenandoah Valley failed in this objective, and General Johnson
began transporting his troops to the South, by train (the first use of rail in war).
On July 16 General McDowell got his army of 34,000 men in action from
Washington towards the Confederate army. The distance to be covered 30 miles. The
union officers had no experience handling such large armies, and the union soldiers
had no experience at being soldiers and thus the march took much longer then it
should have.
By the first evening advance elements of the army reached Fairfax courthouse. The
few Confederate pickets there quickly retreated. On the 18th the first elements
reached the hamlet of Centerville. A brigade was sent out from Centerville to
reconnoiter the confederate lines, they found the confederates and lost 80 men.
General McDowell brought up the balance of his forces.
McDowell had 34,000 troops ready to attack 25,000 Confederate forces spread out
over eight miles on the other side of Bull Run. Most of the Confederate forces were
clustered on the Confederate right flank, prepared to counterattack. McDowell plan

Concluding An Argumentative Essay

  • 1. Concluding An Argumentative Essay Crafting an essay on the topic "Concluding An Argumentative Essay" can prove to be a challenging endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in summarizing the main points of the argument but also in leaving a lasting impression on the reader. The conclusion is the final opportunity to sway the audience in favor of the presented argument, making it a crucial aspect of the essay. One challenge stems from the need to strike a delicate balance between reiterating key points and introducing new insights. The conclusion should not merely be a repetition of the thesis and major arguments but should offer a fresh perspective or a thought-provoking idea that lingers in the reader's mind. Finding the right words to convey this balance can be a nuanced task. Moreover, crafting a conclusion requires a deep understanding of the overall argument and the ability to distill its essence into a concise yet impactful statement. It demands a keen awareness of the tone, ensuring that the conclusion aligns with the essay's overarching style and purpose. Striking this balance can be particularly challenging, as an overly assertive or timid conclusion may undermine the essay's effectiveness. Additionally, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s or generic statements. A compelling conclusion should be unique and memorable, steering clear of common phrases that might dilute the impact of the essay. Crafting an original and resonant conclusion demands creativity and a keen sense of language, making the task even more intricate. In summary, writing a conclusion for an argumentative essay is a multifaceted challenge that involves synthesizing key information, introducing new insights, maintaining the appropriate tone, and avoiding clichГ©s. It requires a careful and thoughtful approach to leave a lasting impression on the reader. For those seeking assistance with such essays or any other writing needs, various platforms, including HelpWriting.net, offer professional writing services. These services can provide support for crafting well-structured and compelling essays, alleviating the challenges that come with academic writing. • 2. The Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck And The Grapes Of Wrath The novels The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck and Under the Feet of Jesus by Helena Maria Viramontes both explore the plight of migrant farmers in California. Steinbeck tells the story of white migrant workers during the Great Depression and Viramontes tells the story of Mexican migrant workers. The novels deconstruct the perceived California dream in which great wealth can be achieved through hard work by recounting the plights of migrant workers who recognize the illusion and take action against it. Steinbeck s novel portrays the plight of the Joad family, natives of Oklahoma. The Joads, a family of dispossessed farmers, travel to California searching for work after the forces of large scale banking capitalism remove them from their land. They chase the promise of a new beginning and the opportunity to find wealth because of the California dream. Steinbeck narrates the journey of an underclass family achieving the Marxist construction of class consciousness. Class conflict between wage slaves and the owners of the means of production, social alienation through the separation of labor and profit, and dehumanization of workers through the mass commodification of labor all appear in the novel. Class consciousness defines the novel and is the method by which the Joad family is able to rise against the bourgeois and capitalism. The Joads are a member of the proletariat and must work as laborers who are, according to Karl Marx , A class of labourers, who live only
  • 3. Alpha Phi Personal Ceremony What are your commitments for this school year? This school year I am employed at the Jundt Art Museum where I work between 6 to 10 hours a week during the school day and weekends. In addition, I am a Campus Kids mentor. I spend time every week with a student in the 5th grade doing activities ranging from school visits, games, and tutoring. This semester I plan to become more involved with the club Mans Best Friend and volunteer at the local animal shelter. Have you held any leadership positions before? If so what are they? Please list what organization/team you held the position for too! During high school i participated in many extra circulars, but I never took on any leadership rolls because of social anxiety. Coming to Gonzaga my goal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have always wanted to join a sorority and although I love Gonzaga and I am very happy with my decision I felt like I was missing out. I am drawn to Alpha Pi Phi specifically because of the strong focus on sisterhood. In addition, as I got to know members of Alpha Pi Phi I enjoyed the fact that all of the girls are very unique and each bring their own unique qualities to create one united sisterhood. What are some stereotypes you ve heard about Greek life and what would you do to challenge them? Stereotypes that I have heard about Greek Life include that it is just about partying and the members are fake or catty. To challenge this stereotype I would lead by example to prove to others that Greek Life does not focus on partying, but in fact focuses on forming friendships, learning, and helping others. By showing others that those in Greek Life are more focused on school and philanthropy it can have an affect on changing this stereotype for many Greek organizations. There is also a very common stereotype that girls in sororities are catty or fake. To challenge this stereotype at Gonzaga I would show other students that members of Alpha Pi Phi are dedicated to forming a strong sisterhood that values uniqueness and diversity. Valuing others for who they are conveys the message that there is no need to be fake because you are accepted for your
  • 4. What Is Scout s Transformation In To Kill A Mockingbird In the earliest pages of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, one would not be able to predict the changes that will overcome Scout, the main protagonist. In chapter one, we are introduced to Scout telling the story of her family s history, and describing Maycomb; a small, poor town immersed in traditional Southern values. Scout begins to explain the circumstances that lead to the broken arm of her older brother, Jem. The important people in her life are Calpurnia, the African American housekeeper who becomes her mother figure, her brother Jem, who protects her and goes on adventures with her, and her father Atticus who teaches her the importance of equality. Maycomb County residents tend be infected with Maycomb s usual disease bias, racism,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An instance of this would be when Dill runs away from his home and comes to Scout s house as refuge. When they are sleeping in bed, Dill tells Scout that they should have a baby, which neither of them know how to do; Scout says, Aunty said God drops em down the chimney (163). This quote clearly shows that Scout doesn t have an inkling of how to have a baby, or where babies come from. Dill has a different opinion in his head, he says, But there s this man too he has all these babies just waitin to wake up, he breathes life into em.... (Lee, 163). Scout is so naive that she believes Dill, the story telling, drama making, dreamer who runs away from home. Scout is very innocent therefore has no experience or knowledge in the topic of babies. Scouts idea of where babies come from is typical for a child her age. Another example of her being naive is when she is at school one day and Cecil Jacobs announced to the children that her daddy defends niggers . After denying it, she later asks Jem what Cecil means by saying that. Racism is taught, and Scout has been taught and shown by Atticus and Calpurnia to treat black people with respect and kindness. She sees them as equals and can t understand why anyone would feel indifferent towards them, because she has been taught the

  • 6. The Things They Carried Jimmy Cross Character Analysis Tim O Brien wrote The Things They Carried based on some of his own experiences in the Vietnam War. The characters he created are similar to the men he knew in the war. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross was a character that O Brien s character knew very well. Lieutenant He is not focused and does not seem to know his purpose in the war or in his life. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross is a character that experiences overwhelming emotions but he does not show them. He seems to feel lost in the war and burdened with responsibility. Lieutenant Cross was in lovewith a girl back home named Martha. He carried around letters that she wrote to him and pictures that she gave him. His obsession of Martha took his focus away from the war. He had loved Martha more than his... There are two deaths that Cross blames himself for: Ted Lavender and Kiowa. He feels guilty because he thinks that if he had been watching his soldiers carefully than it would not have happened. When a man died, there had to be blame. Jimmy Cross understood this. You could blame the war... A moment of carelessness or bad judgment or plain stupidity carried consequences that lasted forever. (O Brien 169) Someone or something must be blamed when a man died. Jimmy Cross always blamed himself because he was the leader. He carried a lot of guilt throughout the war. He blames himself for thinking of Martha instead of focusing on the war. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross was a character with many layers that he never actually showed. He had emotions that he kept inside him, and he was never truly focused on the war. He rarely talked to the other soldiers about how he felt about the war. Cross was burdened with responsibility and guilt. He blamed himself for the death of his soldiers, and he blamed himself for Martha not loving him the way he loved her. Lieutenant Jimmy Cross is a important character that is seriously affected by the war, and has conflicted
  • 7. Other People s Children By Jonathan Kozol Jonathan Kozol, in the chapter entitled Other People s Children, discusses and justifies the kinds of limitations placed on children who must attend poorly funded, educationally inferior school. Kozol argues that children in the inner city schools are not fit to go to college and that they should be trained in schools for the jobs they will eventually hold, even though these jobs are less prestigious, lowest level jobs in society. Kozol s argumentis based on the fact that students from the inner city or rather from the societies that do not have enough job opportunities are not supposed to learn much because their society cannot accommodate most of the courses that are often found in the urban settings. For example, there is a point where Kozol cites one of the businessman s statement which says, It doesn t make sense to offer something that most of these urban kids will never use. The businessman continues to argue, no one expects these ghetto kids to go to college. Most of them are lucky if they are literate. If we can teach some useful skills, get them to stay in schooland graduate, and maybe into jobs, we re giving them the most that they can hope for (Kozol 376). This statement clearly indicate that the society should accept the inequalities and exercise the same inequalities even in education. Despite the fact that Kozol could be right in some ways, this paper will argue that Kozol s arguments are baseless, biased and that they should not be applied. In other
  • 8. Essay On Chief s Magic Meta: Representing a brand new series and a brand new venture for Microgaming, the developer is showcasing Native American spirit in new game Chief s Magic! Chief s Magic Review Chief s Magic takes you back in time where the classic 3 reel slot machine ran wild, and uses Native American visuals to stand out from other similar titles in the genere. With a single payline being featured, along with three pre defined paytables, Chief s Magic is a very simple slot game experience without the usual wild icons and scatter symbols in the mix. With the availability of playing between 0.25 and 15 coins, this game has a top prize award that is 200x your wager for the matching of three chief icons, though this is available only at the highest bet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A wild symbol is not featured in this game, as it has only the payout feature that is reserved for the BAR logos, which can be assembled together to make a winning payline. With three single BAR logos you get a payout of 3x your wager, but three double BAR logos give you a payout of 5x your wager, and three triple BAR logos give a payout of 10x your wager, while mixing and matching combinations of the three can double your starting wager. For instance, two single BARs with a double BAR following is still a winning spin in Chief s Magic, though you would get the minimum winning payout. Nothing but a Dud Besides what has been highlighted before, there is not much to the game and we are stuck wondering why the icon with the game s highest value, the titular chief, is not featured as a substitute wild icon. Having only one payline, this won t have a massive effect to make it a must play for any players interested, but at the very least it would add some type of action and excitement. Putting it simply, Chief s Magic is a dud when it comes to bonus features. Looking for Brighter Fortunes This is probably not the best of Microgaming s releases, as it appears to not have power where it is most needed. There are greater games from Microgaming out there, with a few actually being a bit adventurous with their creativeness and themes. Chief Fortune, which is the sequel to Chief s Magic, is one of the most memorable Internet
  • 9. Les Florets Post Negotiation Analysis Les Florets Entering Les Florets negotiation, I had set for myself rules. Besides my will to buy the restaurant, I had some intermediary objectives to help reach my goal. First, I needed to learn more about the seller s reasons to sell. This way I could offer her different solutions to solve the situation. Second, I needed to be flexible, despite the limit of $160,000. That meant I needed to maintain a margin in the negotiation around the price, and I decided to start with a price of $140,000, saying since I am not usually in charge of buying new restaurants, I am limited in the money I can spend. This way, I could difficultly raise my offer to $150,000 but negotiate other things, notably that the seller would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My intent was simply to make sure she knew she needed an agreement with me, more than I did. I needed her to believe that reaching an agreement with me was her best alternative. Obviously, our price targets were different and unmatchable. She needed to have $190,000 and I could not pay more than $160,000. Just making propositions and trying to be flexible on additional things besides the price was not enough, because she thought she needed the money immediately. At least, it was not enough until the seller knew she had no better alternative outside the one I was able to offer. Also, I learned that although it may seem a lot better to maintain cordiality and an atmosphere of trust during the negotiation, at some point, when it is not going anywhere, it might be better to adopt a stronger position. Mainly, it had to be used to show the other party that even if an agreement is profitable for both parties, there is a point of no return, that it is time to really start looking for other solutions, more creative ones. After having established my position over the seller, making new propositions was a lot easier. Also, she had realized that not reaching an agreement with me meant that she could not pursue her life s dream, whereas reaching an agreement with me made it possible for even if it meant having to delay for a few months. Adopting a stronger position and

Vacuum Truck Excavation Case Study Vacuum Truck Excavation Cardno developed a new process that includes standard, archival research coupled with ground penetrating radar investigations to identify potential historic archaeological features at any given project area. This analysis is followed by controlled excavation with vacuum trucks to locate and excavate features more accurately than traditional Phase I methodology. This technique has the potential to determine National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility without the need for a traditional Phase II evaluation, and helps minimize accidental discoveries after project construction has begun. That history is built upon the rivalry between Purdue and the school down south, Indiana University. On February 28, I was fortunate enough to be in Mackey Arena for this historical rivalry game and senior night, a game that meant Purdue could take the Big Ten Title in a win. Purdue did just that, winning 86 to 75. I was very pleased with the game and it exceeded all expectations I had for the huge rivalry. As a student who has been to every home game this season, I joined the lottery system prior to the game so that I could get a closer seat than those who did not do the lottery. The lottery began the night prior to the game where students camped out outside Mackey s atrium. The love, commitment and sacrifices made in the novel show how any woman, or any man for that matter, can have maternal instincts. Through love, hardships and fate, each character in this novel proves how maternal instincts can be found by anyone, used by most and appreciated by all. Comment and Response to Texting and Writing by Michaela Cullington After reading Texting and Writing, by Michaela Cullington, I do not agree with many of her viewpoints. Cullington argues that texting does not affect a students writing. Textspeak, the abbreviation and shortening of words like used when writinga text message, does affect the way a student writes because they use the abbreviations, and their writings tend to lack punctuation. When a writer uses excessive abbreviations on a regular basis they can get stuck in the writer s head causing them to use them in all of their writings. Textspeak is a dangerous way to write, and once a writer learns and gets used to writing that way, writing papers for school becomes more and more difficult. A common acronym is LOL which is an abbreviation for laugh out loud. The abbreviated for LOL would not be acceptable for an academic paper. Our current generation needs to pay more attention when writing, and to use correct spelling and not use acronyms to shorten their written ideas. Writing College, Writing Life s article Learning the Language by Perri Klass talks about how some professions require abbreviations, which is one of the few times it is accecptable. Abbrevaitons can be helpful and an easy way to write a few words in just a few letters. Teachers do not like abbreviations because the writer tends to assume the reader knows what each acronym means, the paper should be and enjoyable read, not a confusing puzzle. While writing a paper for school teachers do not approve of abbreviation and acronyms, the writer should just take his or her time to write our each word correctly. • 24. The Effect Of Temperature And Reactant Concentration On... This experiment aimed to investigate the relationship between temperature and reactant concentration on the rate of reaction for the hydrolysis of tert Butyl Chloride, and to determine the validity of the proposed mechanism for the reaction. It was hypothesised that measuring the kinetics of this unimolecular substitution reaction would demonstrate the reaction ratefor the hydrolysis of tert Butyl Chloride utilising acetone as the solventwhich should increase with both its increased concentration and temperature, to produce the product tert Butyl alcohol. When the solution of tert butyl chloride in acetone is added to water in the presence of a base and a universal indicator, its reaction to form tert butyl alcohol is indicated by dramatic color change. Bromothymol blue is an acid base indicator which appears blue in an alkaline medium and yellow in an acidic solution (Artxy, 2011). The solvolysis of tert butyl chloride is revealed by the indicator change from blue to yellow as hydrogen halide is produced during the reaction (Mostafa, 2009). The solution is initially blue because of its Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) content (alkaline), and the colour change results as aqueous chlorine removes a proton from the transition state, while the generated hydrogen ions neutralise the hydroxide ions of the NaOH, causing the change in the pH of the system (Riley, 1977). This qualitatively determines that the rate of reaction is dependent on the concentration of tert butyl chloride.

Cultural Competency On Healthcare Delivery As the diverse populations of the United States (U.S.) continues to grow the need for cultural competency in healthcare delivery requires culturally competent healthcare providers. Each population has its own particular norms and practices that guide their lifestyles; therefore, a challenge arises for healthcare providers to learn to provide culturally sensitive care to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds (Waite and Calamaro 2010). The ever changing population of the U.S. signifies a much needed change in health care delivery to different cultures. The U.S. Bureau of Census (1992) predicts that by the year 2020 only 53 % of the population will be of white European decent. Music And Its Influence On The Italian Genre Throughout history, various styles of music have developed to further the evolution and complexity of music, wether it be commissioned by nobility or, composed for the enjoyment of the normal, common populace. English madrigals, though not the longest lasting style, is one such form of music that has had a lasting impact on the continuing composition of music. Madrigals are defined four ways in A History of Western Music. The fourth definition, English polyphonic work imitating the Italian genre, is what will be covered in this paper but, to understand this definition, the other four must be explored. Madrigals originated as a musical style in Italy in the 14th Century, but, the style came around again in the 16th century (1588 1627), much more popular and extremely more influential than the previous incarnation of madrigals. Madrigals are songs in a poetic setting, such as a sonnet, or, another nonrepetative verse form. Madrigals in England developed at the same time as mass music printing, under William Byrd, although he himself eventually stopped composing madrigals. Emma and I have been friends for a very long time and I thought I would start by telling the story of Emma s life. She was born on April 3, 2001, here in Carroll. In her younger years she was temperamental, and had some great stories to prove it. She screamed like she was getting murdered because her mother wouldn t buy her a baby doll. She cried for a five hour car ride because she received the wrong kind of hash browns. I think all these moments just made her familylove her more and set the level of her sassiness for her future. As she grew up her sassiness never went away. In high school she was just as sassy as she was when she was born, and at her work she was even called the sass master. • 31. Letters from an American Farmer Essay We Are America America a land known for its ideals of freedom and new opportunities, a nation built under the idea that every man and women is created equal. However, the definition of what makes a person an American is entirely different from what it is that makes up America, itself. J.Hector St. John Crevecoeur, author of Letters from an American Farmer (1782), exposes what he believes makes an American. However, when compared to the standards of what makes an American in today s world, it seems that becoming an American then was much simpler then, than it is today. The definitionof an American is always evolving due to the influences of our changing nation. During a simpler time, Crevecoeur defined an American as someone of European ... America still believes in freedom and in being the land of opportunities even though time has changed some of America s original ideals. Nowadays, becoming an American is not as simple as entering America and obtaining land. For example, there is the process of applying for citizenship, something that has now become a big part of defining an American. Hundreds of thousands of people per year apply for citizenship, yet not many people are granted the opportunity to become one. The prevailing philosophy throughout the play is existentialism. What is existentialism? Existentialism can be defined through its ontology. Ontology is the study of the nature of reality and is also called the theory of reality. The ontologyof existentialismcan be discussed in under concepts of man and existence. In the concept of man, existentialists believe that man is not bound by any antecedent human nature but rather free to determine its own nature. It opposed those deterministic theories (ex. inborn talents, predestined path of life, etc.) and favoured principle of indeterminism. To be a man is to be undetermined, to be free.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Heidegger, man can only reflect his real self to his self. Man cannot be what he is not. He can be what he is already: his existence. He further says that humans were temporal beings. It finds itself finite because he was bound in time and the space he was experiencing. And when man finds itself finite, his existence would be doomed. But by his free will, he can overcome these threats to his existence. For Heidegger, on the one hand man is creator of his own experience and on the other hand, he is subject of his experience. If man accepts the responsibility for developing his own being then he has true human aspects in his personality. In the concept of existence, existentialists differentiate the verb to exist from the verb to live . For them, existence means a full, self conscious, responsible and growing life. Existentialists divided the concept of existence between authentic existence, and inauthentic existence. A man can live in an unauthentic existence by being a member of a group that is absorbed only in things and details of everyday life. But a man can live in an authentic existence by living through his choices. As quoted from Marcel, to exist means not just to be present to my own aware ness

The consumption of alcohol causes problems with the student s education, health, and behavior. Many universities have had difficulties solving these problems. Alcohol should be banned from college campuses. First, alcohol effects the student s education. Over half of all college students have reported drinking between the ages of eighteen and twenty four ( Alcohol Fact ). Of that fraction of students, twenty five percent of them have experienced challenges with their academics ( The Burden of ). For most college students, drinking has become a part of their lives. Not only are these students drinking on the weekends, they are also staying out late on school nights to party with friends; this can result in an act of binge drinking. Binge drinking is when there is an excessive amount of alcohol consumed in a short period of time ( Binge Drinking ). In a national survey, it reported that students who took part in binge drinking were more likely to do poorly in a class than those students who drank fewer times a week ( The Burden of ). By doing this they are risking the chance of oversleeping or not being able to focus in class the next day. In college, attendance mentally and physically is important. If a student fails at either one of them multiple times, the chance of them failing the class is very likely. Failing a class in which the parents or students are paying for is a waste of

The encouraging role of faith has tended to be overlooked due to other world affairs. Emile Durkheim summarised religion as body of practices and beliefs that act as a basis of identification. Therefore theoretical understandings can demonstrate that terrorism is not a problem with religion. Durkheim went further by declaring that religion maintains social order and allows for social cohesion (Boundless, 2015). According to Emile Durkheim all societies have religion which offers meaning to life as well as enforcing religious morals and norms respectably. Similarly German sociologist Max Weberconcluded that religion brings meaning to life through specific codes of conducts. Guidelines are set in order to follow the desired behaviour. This becomes a central element as Weber believes that humans have always been challenged by crisis which is logically acceptable (Priya, 2014). As opposed to religion being a problem, scholars have forwarded the idea that faith controls order and impacts how one is to live in the expectation of a successful afterlife. Religion also makes us put up with inequalities because of the concept of afterlife. This questions if terrorism is a problem with a religion. However, the Supreme Court needs to take a big step and pass legislation ensuring women equal and fair treatment for women in all areas of society, especially in the workplace. If men and women make equal pay, it will affect the lives of everyone, therefore both genders need to strive to achieve this goal. In most cases, gender bias and stereotypes in the workplace is traceable to the stereotypes ingrained in people s minds while in school. Society expects young children to
  • 52. Emergency Management Act Of 1934 Essay Emergency Management begin in the 1800 s. New Hampshire had a fire that destroyed most of the city. The city needed financial aid to help with the recovery efforts. In 1803, a Congressional Act was passed in order to help the town recover from the devastating loss. This is an example of what would be the Federal government participation in a local disaster. In the 1930 s, the Reconstruction Finance Corporation and the Bureau of Public Roads was given the ability to give disaster loans to aid in the recovery process (FEMA.gov) During this time, a noteworthy, significant piece of emergency management legislation was passed by Congress (FEMA.gov). It was the Flood Control Act of 1934. This Act gave U.S. Army Corps of Engineers the ability to plan and construct flood control projects. Through the years Emergency Management has taken on new forms. Initially there were over 100 departments overseeing emergency management. It was not until June 19, 1978, that President Carter announced a plan to provide the launching of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The FEMA Director would report to the President of the United States of America. In 1992, Hurricane Andrew struck the state of Florida, and FEMA was evidently not prepared to handle such an event. It was clear that FEMA s partners at the State level were also not prepared to handle such an event. Across the United States, news stations were showing and documenting the failures of the State and FEMA. The
  • 53. Motivating When announcing any significant change to the location or way work is conducted, employees must be handled in a gentle manner. These are the people who conduct business for the organization on a daily basis and their interests and opinions must be considered. Employees will work hard as long as wages, working conditions, and hours are reasonable. Motivating employees to work can be an easy task or considerably challenging. Employees thrive off of their leaders behaviors and how they are treated on a daily basis. As a company decides to move employees have an enormous amount of things to consider. A few of my concerns with employees moving are; cost of living at the new location, school and daycare for children, jobs available for their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As their supervisor, I would not hold these needs over their heads, but I would surely make them aware that their performance over the last 60 days would be a factor in their severance packages and relocation positions. People are more receptive if they are spoken to in a way that is respectful and treats them fairly. According to, Charisma on Command (2014) Steve Jobs felt that people with passion can change the world for the better. Employees are one of an organization s most valued commodities. Businesses that close their doors and fail to notify their employees have completely failed in providing employees with alternatives. I would treat each and every employee fairly, but also understand that all 500 employees will not be happy. To earn leadership status, a person must consistently pair what is said with what is done (Daniels, 2014). I truly agree with this statement and lived by it for 22 years in the Army. I would never ask an employee of Soldier of mine to do anything immoral, illegal, or anything that I would not do myself. I have always learned leadership is the act of providing purpose, direction, and motivation and this has to be done daily. By considering all the issues that are associated with moving the call center, employees will see that I am taking their wants and needs seriously. All employees not moving will be afforded letters of recommendations for future employment outside of the call center. I will ensure my employees realize that I have a family

The condenser also functions to maintain the temperature throughout the heating process and thereby maximizing the accuracy of the experimental results. The addition of boiling chips in the heating process to dissolve the diphenyl serves to minimize the possibility of the occurrence of bumping, i.e. sudden explosive boiling whereby large bubbles erupt from the heated solution. Instead, a steady stream of small air bubbles is produced with the addition of the chips. Subsequently after complete dissolving of the crude diphenyl, an additional 15 mL of ethanol is added to ensure that all the crude diphenyl is dissolved. A small amount of decolourising charcoal is added to the solution mixture. The decolourising charcoal serves to remove any impurities in the mixture, by adsorbing substances responsible for colouration of the solution on its surface via its activated properties. A small amount is used as the desired product may be adsorbed as well if a large amount is used instead. The mixture is filtered via a preheated stemless glass funnel immediately after boiling for 10 15 minutes. This is to prevent any early crystallization of the mixture since its crystallization temperature is quite low. The use of preheated apparatus for filtrationis also to minimize premature crystallization of the mixture. Filtration of the mixture while it is still hot is to
  • 55. Battle of Bull Run Essay In Virginia the first battle of the Civil War was fought, near Manassas, Virginia railroad junction, after which the battle is called (or First Bull Run, named after the flowing stream on the battlefield, if of the Union point of view). The armies in this first battle were not prodigious by later Civil War principles. The Federal services under Brigadier General Irvin McDowell were well thought out into four divisions, of about 30,000 men. These divisions were commanded by Tyler, Hunter, Heintzelman, and Miles. The Confederatecommand structure was to some extent more unmanageable, including two quot;armies quot;, with no division structure and thirteen independent brigades under Bonham, Ewell, Jones, Longstreet, Cocke, Early, Holmes,... General Patterson whose responsibility it was to keep General Johnson s troops occupied in the Shenandoah Valley failed in this objective, and General Johnson began transporting his troops to the South, by train (the first use of rail in war). On July 16 General McDowell got his army of 34,000 men in action from Washington towards the Confederate army. The distance to be covered 30 miles. The union officers had no experience handling such large armies, and the union soldiers had no experience at being soldiers and thus the march took much longer then it should have. By the first evening advance elements of the army reached Fairfax courthouse. The few Confederate pickets there quickly retreated. On the 18th the first elements reached the hamlet of Centerville. A brigade was sent out from Centerville to reconnoiter the confederate lines, they found the confederates and lost 80 men. General McDowell brought up the balance of his forces. McDowell had 34,000 troops ready to attack 25,000 Confederate forces spread out over eight miles on the other side of Bull Run. Most of the Confederate forces were clustered on the Confederate right flank, prepared to counterattack. McDowell plan
