Most Influential Person In My Life Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of the most influential person in my life can be both a challenging
and deeply introspective task. It requires delving into one's personal experiences, emotions, and
reflections to articulate the impact an individual has had on one's life. The difficulty lies not only
in narrating the story of this influential person but also in conveying the profound effect they
have had on shaping beliefs, values, and character.
The process demands a delicate balance between expressing genuine emotions and maintaining a
coherent structure. Recounting personal experiences can be emotionally taxing, making it
challenging to find the right words to do justice to the significance of the chosen person.
Moreover, the essay requires a careful exploration of the individual's qualities, actions, and
lessons learned from them, adding an additional layer of complexity.
The struggle intensifies as the writer grapples with the responsibility of presenting a narrative
that is both engaging and authentic. There is an inherent vulnerability in sharing personal stories,
and this vulnerability can be intimidating. Striking the right tone, avoiding clichГ©s, and
ensuring that the essay resonates with the reader requires a high level of writing skill and
introspection.
Despite the challenges, writing an essay on the most influential person in one's life can also be a
therapeutic and enlightening experience. It provides an opportunity for self-reflection and
appreciation, allowing the writer to acknowledge the profound impact of a significant figure.
However, the difficulty remains in articulating these emotions and experiences with clarity and
coherence.
In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on the most influential person in one's life
requires navigating through a complex web of emotions, memories, and reflections. It demands a
high level of self-awareness and writing proficiency to convey the depth of the connection and
the transformative nature of the relationship. It is an endeavor that goes beyond mere
storytelling; it is an introspective journey that challenges the writer to communicate the intangible
impact of a singular individual.
For those who find themselves grappling with such a task or seeking assistance in expressing
their thoughts eloquently, it's worth considering external support. Similar essays and much more

individuals articulate their unique stories and experiences.

Master Resilience Training Essay
The United States Army s master resilience training is used to grow and thrive in
the face of challenges and bounce back from adversity. Build core competencies
that enable mental toughness, optimal performance, strong leadership, and goal
achievement (Reivich CSF2, Master Resilience Training Version 3.1 Participant
Guide, p. 7). The Master Resilience Trainer Course (MRT C) trains resilience skills
in order to provide the Army with a cadre of resilience and performance training
experts (Army Regulation 350 53, para 4 3 (a) (2)). The MRT C is what is known in
the Army as Train the Trainer, meaning when the Soldier
graduates the course he/she
then is a subject matter expert. Students must pass the written exam (multiple choice
and True/False) on Day 9 with a 70% score or higher in a 1 and 1/2 hour period. This
test is closed book and covers all course materials. Students who fail to score 70% or
higher will receive additional training at the end of class on Day 9 and will retest on
Day 10. Failure to pass the exam with a 70% or higher in the second test will result in
class drop and the student will not be awarded the 8R Additional Skill Identifier

The MRT instructors will teach one module every quarter, and for two quarters will

teaching material that was taught during his or her MRT C. This will ensure
continuity between what the MRT instructor learned and what is being taught to the
Twenty One Pilots Compare And Contrast
Through the years, music has drastically evolved, and affected most of our lives.
There are many cases of music becoming a lifestyle of sorts for certain people,
myself included. Music changes based on the fads of the age; sometimes made to
conform and often laughed at by later generations. I think we can all agree that the
truly good musicis the music that does not conform to the latest fads, but does just
the opposite. In this case, I m talking about the two bands Twenty One Pilots and
My Chemical Romance, both bands that were/are very diverse from what people
were/are used to. The two bands are very different; varying in music style, energy,
and themes. While the bands are different, they share a very similar fan base and
both hold the same messages; to love yourself and to ignore those who put you
down. Twenty One Pilots and My Chemical Romance are two very popular bands
from two very different generations of music that are notoriously emo. When I say
emo in this particular example, I simply mean emotional music, rather than the...

Twenty One Pilots is much calmer than My Chemical Romance, focusing more on
a despaired feeling rather than the angry feeling My Chemical Romance often
conveys in their music (the fact Twenty One Pilots never curses further enforces
this idea). Of course, this is not to say that Twenty One Pilots never gets a bit
angrier in their songs, (or that My Chemical Romance can t get sad and slow), but
whenever they do, it s a more passive aggressive kind of angry (for example, the
song Fairly Local). Like I said, more despaired. Kind of like that one really scary
person and whenever they get angry they get really quiet and you know they mean
business. Twenty One Pilots makes music of all genres; from gospel to screamo to
ukulele to rap, they make music from every genre (except for country; I m not sure
A Life Worth Living In Jojo Moyes s After You
I loved a man who had opened up a world to me but hadn t loved me enough to stay
in it. is a very popular quote from the breathing novel After You by Jojo Moyes.
After You is the sequal to Me Before You which leaves Louisa an entirely different
character. When she took the job as Will s caregiver, she never thought his choice
to medically kill himself would leave her the way it did. After You goes throught
the motions of the people left to mourn Will s death, specifically Louisa. The theme
of this book can easily be narrowed down to living, Lou is left to figure out how to
put together a life worth living. Since she has been without Will, her life hasn t been
much of anything, this story shows her journey back to living. The theme of living...

She was taking care of Lily and even developed a love for her that made her almost
feel like a mother. They had an incredible relationship, they were best friends,
sisters, mothers and daughters because yes, even sometimes Lily was the one
teaching and taking care of Lou. Together they learned to live by escaping the
things that defined them as individuals. Neither of them wanted to let go of this so
they worked everyday to respect each other and grow stronger. Lily started
working, Lou started dating to some extent and they found happiness in their little
flat which began to feel more like home. At Louisa s highest point of understand
she wrote, You learn to live with it, with them. Because they do stay with you, even

The Impact of Computer Science on Health Care Medicine
The Impact of Computer Science on Health Care amp; Medicine
Abstract Computer science can be defined as the systematic study of algorithmic
processes, their theory, design, analysis, implementation and application. Its functions
in the modern society today expand far beyond the uses one could even begin to
imagine. Specifically, there is an increased influence in its practical application in the
field of medicine. In recent times, an interdependent relationship between medicine
and technology itself has been developed that did not exist before. Modern healthcare
relies heavily on the application of computer technology in furthering its
advancement of bioinformatics, biotechnology, artificial organ technology, robotic...

America and Comparisons and Contrasts between Them
1. Introduction A new round curriculum reform in China catches the eyes of various
people, especially senior high school teachers, students and people like us, who will
become high school teachers in several years. After the new curriculum offering
issued, the comparisons with the old one, even foreign countries are quite hot. Since
America is the most popular destination among Chinese students, I believe as a high
school teacher in the future, it is necessary to learn about American curriculum
provision and understand the comparisons and contrasts between China and America.
Thanks to the resources, I learn about the curriculum provisions in both countries and
find 6 comparisons and contrasts all together.
2. Curriculum provision in China On 4th Apr. 2014, the new curriculum provision
was revealed on the press conference. From September in 2014, the new curriculum
provision came into effects. According to the newest declaration, there are 8 fields or
13 courses all together in senior high school, including language and literature,
mathematics, culture and society, science, technology, arts, physical exercise, and

The Bible s Treatment For Anxiety
WINNING OVER ANXIETY
Matthew 6:25 34
Too often the world s wisdom focuses on the anxious person and what they can do to
resolve their anxiety. The Bible s treatment for anxiety involves more than just the
anxious person doing the right things, saying the right prayers, following a proper
diet and getting the right amount of sleep. It also involves friends. Matthew 6:25 34
says,
25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what
you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food
and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow
nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not

A.Jesus points out that some things are more important than others.
1.Many of the things we worry about are simply not worth the effort.
2.Much ado about nothing, is the way Shakespeare put it.
B.Jesus says we can conquer worry over the unimportant by learning to seek first the
kingdom of God.
1.The Greek word for worry literally means to be pulled in different directions.
2.By aiming our lives in one direction and learning to put first things first we can
reduce some of the artificial, self made anxieties of life. III.We worry about things
that have not yet happened (verse. 34)
A.What if are the two most worry filled words in the English language.

The Flea John Donne Analysis
I think Donne s mixture of sexual and religion was not odd because Donne was able
to combine these two images to form a godly setting. This unusual technique was
seen in Donne s The Flea and the Holy sonnet poems. In the Flea poem, he showed a
man and woman occupying spiritual roles who struggled with the idea of not having
sexual relations before marriage. The idea was for the characters to refrain from
having sexual relations before marriage. According to the lecture video, Donne s
Holy Sonnetreferred to Donna and God raping Donna. Again, in the Holy Sonnet
Donne took sexual elements, and put them in spiritual realms (Lecture Video). I
believe this unusual tencqiunce was interesting because he used outlandish and
egregious observations to capture the reader s attention. I enjoyed the portrayal of
the poem the flea because it declared a dedication to a godly love that rose above
the physical love. In line 15 it states, cloister d in these living walls of jet (15). In
this line the use of the word cloister meaning, the flea was on the walls of a church,
which was symbolic of a wedding taking place. The wedding symbolized a couple,
who got married. In lines 3 7 it states It sucked me first, and now sucks thee, And in
this flea our two bloods mingled be; Thou know st that this... Show more content on

Synthesis Essay On Technology In Schools
Technology today is further along and more complex than it has ever been.
Technology has found its way in our everyday lives one way or another. From our
cars becoming self driving, to technology being widely used in the school system.
However some people, believe that technology should be separated from the schools,
saying it causes more harm than help. I, on the other hand, completely disagree. That
could not be any further from the truth in all reality. Technology gives us much easier
ways to learn, a streamlined way to communicate with teachers, and can provide
more creative freedom than without it. In Source E, it states that children these days
are exposed to far too much information to actually be able to learn anything. Think
about how little sense that makes. How could being exposed to so many interesting
and new ideas that you alone could not possibly have come up with, be a bad thing.
While there does exist information out there that truly serves no purpose in schools,
the vast amount of information that does makes it all worthwhile. Like everything
used by children and other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That goes for in the classroom as well. Now today s students are never out of touch
with their teachers. With things like REMIND, any time throughout the day, children
or parents are able to communicate directly with their teachers to find out more
information. The educators are beginning to interact with students, parents and each
other in ways they never have before. (Source B) For people to say that technology
has ruined communication and outside exposure for today s generation, like Source
F tries to convey with the image of the boy watching a nature program on the
television instead of going outside and experiencing it hands on, is an outdated thing
to say. In all actuality people have never been more connected than they are now.
Today anyone in the world is a click away from a conversation with anyone
Addressing Crohn s Disease
When a person has one, it doesn t mean that by this time next week, it will go away.
It means that they will continue to deal with the symptoms of that disease until the
day they die. That is a daunting thought, often too large in scale for anyone to truly
take seriously. Crohn s Disease is one of those diseases that is improperly
evaluated by the general public. Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Seantrel
Henderson battles it daily, yet is currently serving a 10 game suspension from the
NFL for cannabis use. Why is there such a disconnect between people who suffer
from the disease and the doctors who treat them, and the general public who believe
those taking the drug are using it as an excuse to get high? While not a medical
doctor, I am uniquely qualified to talk about the battle Henderson is... Show more

Multiple studies have confirmed that you can achieve complete remission by
using medical marijuana to combat Crohn s. In Henderson s case, he has tried to
explain his use. Finding what works is by far the hardest part of it all. At one
point, I was taking 30+ pills a day to battle the disease and it caused permanent
damage to my liver in the process. If Henderson using a natural, plant based
method to treat his disease is the solution to his problem, what is the NFL trying to
stop here? Not only is it helping manage his symptoms, he finally has hope for a
normal life. Hope is a rare emotion that can manifest itself in plenty of ways. He
may have found his in an uncommon way. Dealing with Crohn s Disease is similar
to standing on the side of an Olympic sized swimming pool with a cinderblock
attached to your feet. When it is flaring up, it feels as if the cinderblock has been
kicked inside the pool, you re constantly trying to swim upwards to try and get a
breath. The depression will weigh you down, the pain will weigh you down, the self
doubt will weigh you down. If you re given a life raft, you take
Glass Ceiling Paper
In most situations, employers fill internal job vacancies secretly. Candidates or
employees do not even have the opportunity to apply for these positions and at times,
would not know that these promotional opportunities exist. Selection is made on
bias, depending on the selector s gut feeling about who he/she considers best.
However, majority of employers do have a glass ceilingof which women and
minorities have a very limited chance to cross or advance. This paper will analyze a
case study on: Glass Ceeiling and answer some follow up questions such as: the
advancement barriers Lisa encountered, What the firm s leadership (including
Michael Breyer) should have done differently to retain Lisa, the type of
organizational policies and opportunities that could have benefited Lisa and Pamela,
and what the leaders within the organization could have done to raise gender
consciousness of Michael Breyer and Lisa s male colleagues.
Analysis: Glass Ceiling In corporate America today, most women and even minorities
find it difficult to shatter the glass ceiling since it is dominated by the male. Although
some percentage of women have made progress in the corporate ladder. In context,
the ceiling means that there is a certain limit that someone can climb in the hierarchy

Situations of this nature may be challenged legally with time; the success of the
legal strategy would lead to change in promotional procedures that will eventually
shatter the glass ceiling and result in positive pay reward for the oppressed.
Therefore, companies should work toward winning in the workplace, winning in the
marketplace and winning with women. This case study shows that men are very
much involved in the usuage of power and women find it difficult to or rather
impossible to reach to that level or break the glass
Micro Controller At Mega
Micro Controller AT Mega 328 In the area of control and automation, the need for
some processing unit became indispensable in a wide variety of applications. Among
these, microcontrollers stand as a lower cost alternative, satisfactory reliability,
simplicity, reduced consumption energy, however, with limited memory capacity and
processing.
A microcontroller contains a processor, memory access and peripheral input
/ output. It is a microprocessor that can be programmed for specific functions, in
contrast to other general purpose microprocessors (such as those used in PCs).
Basically, the use of a microcontroller is in the processing of data from one of your
peripherals, with the set of output data. For example, send data via serial port or
generate a reaction in system as an LED light.
The architecture of a microcontroller generally consists of a core processing, bus and
Peripherals:
Processing core consists of the data processor (calculations, flow control program,
etc.) and administration of peripherals.
Bus is divided into data and address, is on the lines of communication between the
processor and peripherals.
Peripherals characterize the set of features available by the microcontroller and are
controlled by the processor. For example, memory, serial port, parallel port and AD
converter.
Microcontrollers are typically used in automation and control products and
peripherals, such as control systems of automotive engines, remote controls,
machines, etc.

Lord of the Flies was created by William Golding, an English novelist that studied
at Oxford where the experience allowed for his writing to grow and develop. The
main purpose of the novel was to portray the struggle of a group of boys in the era
of war. It is aligned off of personal experiences the author had in World War II, the
severity and insanity allowed him to have a corrupted view on the world and
everything inside of it ( William Golding, N.P.). Much like Oxford, being apart of
the Royal Navy influenced his book greatly, he used his personal experiences here to
shape the basis of the novel. This experience allowed for him to see how man and
nature were corrupt ( Lord of the Flies, 1). He also found that man has evilness...

Although in the normal standards there is no conch, there is still an assembly that
brings people together (1). They are using this tool to build a civilized manner in a
place where the main purpose is to be wild and savage. The conch stands for
democracy. Having the conch allows anyone holding it to speak their mind as
opposed to one person completely controlling the others. This causes a huge riff
between the boys who want to be civil and the others who want to be free. Later in
the story when the conch breaks it is a symbol of the destruction of society. The
conch shatters from the savagery while destroying the civility. Meaning that the
savage boys kill one of the others who is attempting to keep this norm. The new
life is a symbol of independence from society, the boys believe now that they are
without adults and police that they are free from all civil duties. The adults and
police set a structure, now that those are gone so is the necessity to abide by rules.
William Golding shows this through one of the characters named Roger, in this spot
he is fighting the inner battle to hurt or not. Roger gathered a handful of stones and
began to throw them. Yet there was a space around Henry, perhaps six yards in
diameter, into which he dare not rhow. Here, invisible yet strong was the taboo of the
old life. Round the sautГ©ing child was the protection of parents and school and
policemen and the law. (Golding, 161).

In Expressivity in the Accompanied Recitatives of Bach s Cantatas, George J.
Buelow writes that although many of the distinguishing properties of Bach s music
have been studied over the years, few scholars have examined Bach s recitatives or
have given them proper credit. He notes that these recitatives generally either are
ignored by musical scholarship or are briefly discussed with general errors or
confusion. 1 For example, he cites Jack Westrup as stating that Bach s recitatives are
basically an adaptation of the idioms of Italian opera (19), and he mentions others who
term them improvisatory or unrelated to the text. Buelow asserts that informed ...

Some of these instrumentally guided recitatives even contain arioso segments,
melodious passages that may seem out of place in a standard recitative. Two such
recitatives that Buelow does not mention are the intriguing movements 3 and 5 of
Cantata No. 78. In the first of these two examples, the arioso section lasts for the
last four and a half bars of the piece and helps show the shift from the sinner s inner
monologue to an outward presentation of his grief to Christ. In the second, the arioso
spans the last dozen andante bars of the piece and illustrates a similar shift from the
text s discussion of Christ s strengthening of mankind through his suffering to an
individual s placement of his own suffering heart before Christ.
To most Baroque theorists, recitatives were simply a form of sung speech, an
oration in tones (25). Buelow points out that while Bach is a skilled rhetorician, he
is also unusually sensitive to words in his recitative style, finding such a variety of
musical and rhetorical means to express them, an atypical accomplishment for the
Baroque period (26). Buelow notes several approaches that Bach takes to express his
text as he looks in depth at a specific cantata. Cantata No. 78 reveals similar trends,
demonstrating Bach s expressivity through vocal and instrumental
An Analysis Of Side By-Side By John Marsden
In this teen novel, the author, John Marsden, has chosen to place contradictory
themes within the story side by side in order to contrast and display aspects of the
story such as character and plot development. Juxtaposition can be defined as a
literary technique in which two or more ideas, settings or characters are placed
comparatively for the purpose of developing contrasts and differences. This
technique is used in a variety of stories even without the intention of a particular
idea being juxtaposed. In this case as well as characters and settings, John
Marsden has used many opposing themes to this advantage. Further on, the
explanation of how particular themes are juxtaposed and how they are contrasted
are explained for themes such as dependence and independence, safety and danger
and war and peace. The themes of dependence and independence are placed
together to contrast while in different time frames. At the beginning of the book,
the teenagers were vulnerable and primarily relied on their parents for basic
survival. As the story progresses they begin to realise the importance of
independence when it comes to survival, especially in the circumstances of war.
Starting at the beginning of the story, Ellie and Corrie were chatting about their
trip to hell. So, will your parents let you go overseas? I asked. I don t know. They
might, if I work on them long enough. (pg.46) This quote displays how prior to the
war they relied on their parents to basically control

Oceanography Analysis
For the past couple weeks, we have focused on the topography of the ocean floor in
our Oceanography class. To end this unit, we did a project of the ocean floor,
involving coloring our own map of the Pacific seafloor and reflecting on this past
unit. As tedious as the map portion of the project had been, I found it to be the
most effective teaching tool of the whole unit. The detailed notes and labs had still
been enough to teach and understand the topography of the ocean floor, the actual
color coding of the topographical map had, at least for me, given a better
appreciation of how diverse and vast the seafloor truly is. I had never given much

Black smokers are hydrothermal vents located on the ocean floor, which spew
superheated, mineral rich water. Although this type s mixture is black, hence the
name black smokers, different hydrothermal vents can also eject white, green, or
even clear mineral rich water. The water is actually heated by newly formed,
extremely hot crust, which is why black smokers are found on divergent plates; here
plates are spreading apart and forming new crust, often making ridges or rises. What
makes them so interesting is that they can create their own ecosystems. Black
smokers are located on the ocean floor, where no sunlight can penetrate. But, thanks
to their mineral rich and high temperature water, different organisms can survive
down at the bottom. These include gastropods, crustaceans, tube worms, and
bivalves. If fact, this is the only type of ecosystem which is completely independent
of the sun. Honestly, I find that
William Dreyer Research Paper
William Dreyer was a galley boy. He made ice cream on his German ship to celebrate
their arrival into America in 1906. He stayed in New York for a little while and
then moved to California. He was an apprentice for 20 years at the Peerless Ice
Cream and National Ice Cream Company. William Dreyer opened his own ice
creamery in Visalia California in 1921. In 1928 William Dreyer became partners
with Joseph Edy. Edy, was a candy maker. Together they opened a ice cream
factory on Grand Avenue in Oakland, California. They named the company Grand
Ice Cream. In 1946 Dreyer s son entered the business. When this happened Edy

In 1929 William Dreyer added walnuts and marshmallows in his chocolate ice

marshmallows and walnuts to help calm him down after Black Thursday, the
beginning of the Great Depression. The name of this new ice cream helped people
smile when they didn t have a lot to smile about. They were eating an ice cream
that described the way they were feeling, they were on a Rocky Road . In 1948
Dreyer built a ice cream plant. The plant was in Oakland California. He renamed
the company, Dreyer s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. Dreyer s Grand Ice Cream was
delivered and sold to ice cream shops and soda fountains in San Francisco. At the
shops, people loved the idea of adding nuts and candy into the ice cream. There are
some interesting facts on Rocky Road Ice Cream. The marshmallows that Dreyer
used for his first batch of Rocky Road ice cream, were way too big. He had to use his
wife s sewing scissors to cut them into small pieces. Rocky Road was America s
first hit flavor of ice cream. It is still one of the best selling flavors of all time, but
did you know that Australia also had it s own Rocky Road ? They made a sweet
treat that had chocolate, marshmallow, nuts, and other fillers. This treat was sold to
gold miners, that traveled the rocky road to find gold in
Utilitarianism Essay
Utilitarianism is an evaluation of an action, whether it is favorably or unfavorably
affected by the people, which is based upon their consequences. It is an ethical
philosophy that has the procurement of achieving the maximum amount of happiness
for the greatest number of people. There are two Classical Utilitarian philosophers,
Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, who believed that the greatest good in the
world was attaining pleasure and the avoidance of pain. It was the idea that the goal
for overall happiness was created for the society by an action of someone s well
doing.
Jeremy Bentham was a social reformer, political radical, and founder of Utilitarianism
. He viewed the philosophy through laws instead of ethics; hoping that it would
The Taft-Hartley Act
The Wagner Act vs. the Taft Hartley Act
Historically, unions have made major improvements in workers conditions and
wages. There has been legislation in favor of support to unions and worker needs and
there has been legislation to restrict union power. The Wagner Act, commonly
referred to as the National Labor Relations Act, and the Taft Hartley Act are two of
the many laws created to balance union power. This paper will look at both Acts, the
impacts they have had, and what changes could be made to make them more relevant
to today s society.
Wagner Act Passed in 1935, the Wagner Act protects the rights of employees and
employers. The act encourages fair collective bargaining between employees and
employers and inhibits certain private ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unions could no longer coerce employees or management into forcing employees to
join the union. They also had to bargain in good faith and could not charge excessive
dues or initiation fees.
Effect on Employers
Employers were definitely happier after the passing of the Taft Hartley Act. With the
passing of union unfair labor practices, equality within collective bargaining helped
employers. They now were able to file grievances with the NLRB against unfair
union activities and could slow union power (Morris, 2012).
Modern Application Under the Taft Hartley Act, the balance between management
and union was achieved and adjustments to NLRB were made. Over the years though
the management union relationship has evolved and the Taft Hartley Act should
reflect those changes. The act kept most of the policies set down by the Wagner Act
intact (Morris, 2012). Unfortunately, just like the Wagner Act, the Board has not
properly administered the Taft Hartley Act and has made poor ruling decisions. When
updating the Wagner Act, the Taft Hartley act should also be updated to reflect
societal standards and
The Colonists Labor Habits
The colonists labor supply problems created an opportunity for English recruiting
merchants who were increasingly being asked to cast their net more widely for bound
labor. Initially, the merchants tried to fulfill the demand from Europe by luring Irish
women, convicts, homeless and orphans. However, these efforts did not pan out. The
would be migrants no longer considered indentured servitude in a far destination as
attractive as opportunities at home. To fulfill the unmet labor demand, the merchants
then turned to a new source: sale of slaves transported directly from Africa. The
Royal African Company enjoyed a monopoly in the lucrative business of selling
African slaves to North American colonies. However, in 1698, the British Parliament
Social Class In The Great Gatsby
In this movie it is very revealing that the characters feel as if they are totally limited
by the amount of money that they are worth, so their perspective on being successful
and widely known is predominantly based on their financial status, and/or worth. The
story that this movie carries along with it portrays what can happen when social class
and money come into act. The movies setting takes place approximately around the
early 1900 s. During this time frame, people were focusing on trying to live the
American Dream, and the dream illustrated how easy it is to lose contact with the
important things in life, and how people are bound to make it to the top. The Great

the help of Tom Buchanan. Myrtle s intentions are quite different. Instead of moving

that her affair with Tom, would terminate in her fatality, and leave her husband s life
The Importance of Proper Wine Storage
A. The Importance of Proper Wine Storage
While most of the commodities are consumed within 24 hours from the time of
purchase, wines are often preserved for long term storage and aging. Wine is one of
the things that get better with time when stored and aged properly but it can also
spoil and deteriorate rapidly if kept in inappropriate condition. Proper storage and
aging will enhance the wine s flavor, color and quality in general.
In order for us to better understand the concept of preserving and aging of wines, the
following critical elements should be taken into consideration.
1.Light
Wines, especially white wines should not be subjected to excessive amounts of
light. Wines should not be stored under direct sunlight and fluorescent lights with
ultraviolet light in the wavelength of 325 to 450 nm. Light may adversely react
with the chemical compounds in wine and create potential wine faults or defects
which often leads to the wine having a lightstruck aroma (or gouts de lumiere
French for tastes of light). A wine with a lightstruck aroma is characterized by a
decrease in citrus aroma, while the intensity of unpleasant aroma increased. Wine
stored in dark area are mostly to maintain its clarity and citrus aroma thus, most
wines are packed in colored glass and stored in dark cellars.
2.Humidity
Humidity is also a critical element of wine storage to be considered especially if wine
cork closures and stoppers are used. The efficacy of the wine cork depends upon the
Richard Nixon And The Watergate Scandal
Richard Nixon and the Watergate Scandal Richard Nixon was a widely accepted
president before the Watergate break in which changed American views on
government forever. The Watergate Scandal started when five men, Frank Sturgis,
Bernard Barker, Virgilio Gonzalez, James McCord, and Eugenio Martinez known as
CREEP, broke into the Watergate complex
in order to bug the office with microphones
to hear the plans for the upcoming election. However this plan backfired when the
five men were arrested leading investigations to trace back to the White House and
later President Nixon. Watergate was the largest government scandal in American

After the events that took place and Nixon s resignation, a massive trend of distrust
in the government began. Even today a wide majority of people still do not trust the
American government, this is one of the greatest effects the scandal had on the
United States. One law that was created due to impact of Watergate was the
Sunshine Act, the Sunshine Act is a law that requires government agencies to be
open and public to Americans. Another law that was passed was the Ethics in
Government Act of 1978, what this law stated was that public officials had to make
financial disclosures and former employment public, and led to the creation of Office
of Government Ethics an executive agency responsible for issuing rules and
regulations about ethical conduct and financial disclosure, providing training in
ethics, monitoring the ethics of practices in departments and agencies, and giving
guidance on matters of ethics. (USLegal). At the end of the whole scandal many
government officials had been jailed, but there were three major figures involved in
the scandal known as the Big Three . John N. Mitchell, John D. Ehrlichman, and
H.R. Haldeman, convicted of conspiring to obstruct justice and bribing the burglars
to keep quiet were sentenced to two and a half years in prison for their involvement
in the scandal. Finally the last change that came of watergate was President Gerald
Ford becoming president
A Discussion Of Campaign Finance Regulation
In his discussion of campaign finance regulation, Christiano argues that with cases of
gatekeeper mechanism and opinion formation mechanism, campaign expenditures
should be regulated to prevent drowning out of the opinions of nonaffluents. He
proposes that certain regulations will actually help protect and promote freedom of
expression, and suggests to limit expenditures and distribute vouchers during
campaign periods. Using a prima facie equation, I will argue against the claim that
Christiano s restrictions interfere unduly with freedom of expression and defend his
proposal as a valid resolution to the problem of drowning out.
Christiano identifies two mechanisms by which expenditures influence a political
system and drowns out the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most obvious criticism of Christiano s proposal is that regardless of a regulation s
intent or effect, regulation of campaign expenditures is an infringement on
freedom of expression. Many consider one s allocation of one s own resources to
be a mode of expression, and the Supreme Court has generally upheld this view in
Buckley vs. Valeon and Citizens United vs. FEC. In this sense, limiting campaign
expenditure is specifically limiting those who are able and willing to provide
private expenditures from doing so. Such a limitation can been seen as a violation
of freedom of expression, and Christiano s proposal to limit certain expressions in
order to promote freedom of expression can seem absurd.
Christiano, however, argues that this temporary limitation is not an unduly
interference because the cost of campaign regulation on freedom of expression is
surpassed by its benefits for freedom of expression. He admits that the affluents will
be restricted from fully wielding their economic advantages, but he claims that this
limitation will preserve and promote diversity of opinions during the campaign
period and also ensure long run development of discussions. Because campaign
regulations will prevent diversity of ideas from being diluted by drowning out,
political discussion will
Natural and Synthetic Antioxidants Essay
Antioxidants are substances that stable enough to prevent or retard the oxidation of
easily oxidisable biomolecules such as lipids, proteins and DNA, thus preventing
oxidative damage (Lobo et al. 2010). Antioxidants can be classified into two classes,
according to their action, into primary or chain breaking antioxidants and secondary
or preventative antioxidants. Primary antioxidants, when present in low
concentration, can either delay or inhibit the lipid oxidation by reacting with a lipid
radical or peroxyl radicals. Secondary antioxidants on the other hand, retard the rate
of oxidation by chelating of metal ions or quenching of singlet oxygen (Amalia et al.
2005). These antioxidants are widely used as food additives in foods,... Show more

Hence, the high content of polyphenol antioxidants present in a variety of plants is
probably the main factor responsible for antioxidant activity of plant materials.
Recently, there is an increasing interest both in the industry and in the scientific
research on various plant extracts due to their strong natural antioxidants properties
(Wu et al. 2009). These antioxidants compounds are pharmacology effective and have
low or no side effects for use in preventive medicine and food industry (Sati et al.
2010). Several synthetic antioxidants such as butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT),
butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and tert butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) are commonly
used as food preservatives to prolong the shelf life of foods due to their low cost, high
stability and effectiveness. However, these substances may be dangerous for human
consumption, as recent publications have mentioned their possible toxic properties
for human health and the environment. On the contrary, natural antioxidants from
plant resources such as phytochemicals are safe to be used. Hence, the development
of natural antioxidants has attracted considerable attraction and the search for natural
antioxidants from various natural sources has been intensified in recent years (Jia et
al. 2007).
As mentioned earlier, agarwood leaves are a source of bioactive components and are
rich in various types of polyphenols (Takemoto et al. 2008). A research
The Colonel Michael Hogan Summary
The author of The Colonel, Michael Hogan, details how a certain Army Colonel
influenced his life through the sport of tennis. Hogan begins by indicating how
mainstreamed tennis is today, to the point an average adolescent could not imagine
tennis as a rich man sport. In the fifties, when Hogan was a child, tenniswas a sport
reserved for mostly men at country clubs and private resorts. Women had competed at
international competitions such as Wimbledon for a several years, but many of them
were amateurs (oftentimes paid little). Fortunately for female tennis players, Billie
Jean Kings assertiveness, in 1967, and the Virginia Slim tournaments, in the seventies,
influenced tennis to include women in professional tennis (such as Chris Everts...

Hogan s father told him of the great players from his day: Poncho Gonzales, Ken
Rosewall, Jack Kramer. He did not really care, as the names meant nothing to him,
but he looked up to the Colonel, with great stories about the recent war. Hogan was
interested in war stories as his father s brother, Harry, died in Belgium during the
war; Harry s name memorialized the nearby Little League baseball field. On a
Saturday afternoon, after getting home early from work, Hogan stopped to talk
with the Colonel. The Colonel obviously loved tennis, telling stories from
competitions when in college and in the service. He amused the young boy with
stories of tournaments, matches with famous players, and games in remote parts
of the world. The Colonel considered tennis a sport, after one learns how to play it,
that person can play for the rest of their life. When one has no one to play with, or
their body stops working correctly, one can still enjoy a game of tennis (but not
football, basketball, or baseball). Tennis could be played anywhere, as one can
always find someone to play with. The Colonel hooked the young Hogan to play.
Maybe it was the Colonel s stories, Hogan s enthusiasm, his respect of the Colonel s
rank, his cheerful personality, or his war experiences. Hogan may have not wanted
to disappoint the venerable man (and likely so); despite this, Hogan was ready to
learn the game of
The Pros And Cons Of Sexism In Doctor Who
The leading role in Doctor Who being changed from male to female caused a big
outburst in sexism. The role is made for a male and it being twelve out of thirteen
of the lords being male we were expecting to see a male. The role is not for a
female and all the women are catching backlash for the way the show took turns.
They switched roles to keep the show from being cancelled. Fans are feeling like
women are trying to take over and during the show. Showing signs of sexism.
Critics and all the ugly parts of the world. There s no non sexist reason to be upset
about the lead role being changed to a female bringing more conflict and
distribution to fans. We as people are very opinionated which only makes matters
worse. Having that mindset of we have freedom of speech for a reason meaning I
m going to say whatever I feel to voice my input whether it s good or bad. Positive
or negative we are going to say it. This could put maybe over half the world in the
sexist category just because we can have our opinion. We have to have some type of
negativity some type of wrong in us or around us. There are two different categories:
Feminist or Sexist. Feminism meaning Women are equal to Men no matter the
category, and sexism meaning being a particular situation, attitude and or behavior
towards one gender. i think we don t know the meaning of these words or the
differences of these two loosely used words. Then we have this controversy of calling
ourselves feminist with the definition of a

Coca Cola was the 1st international soft drinks brand to enter India in early 1970 s.
Indian market was dominated by domestic brands, with Limca being the largest
selling brand. Cola was the largest selling flavor with market share of 40%, Lemon
drinks 31% and orange drinks only 19%.
Up till 1977, Coca cola was the leading soft drink brand in India. But due to norms
set by the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA), Coca Cola left India and did
not return till 1993 after a 16 year absence from the Indian beverage market. FERA
needed Coca Cola to reveal its secret concentrate formula as well as reduce its
equity stake which was not acceptable. Pure drinks, Delhi launched Campa Cola, to
take advantage of Coke s exit and by the end of 70 s, were the only Cola drink in
the Indian market. In 1980, Parle, another major Indian player launched Thums
Up, the drink which till date is most popular soft drink in India. Pure Drinks
strongly objected to Thums Up being called a soft drink as it felt its taste is too
strong. For over a decade, Parle led the Indian soft drinks market, with its market
share reaching a peak of 70% in1990.

Product Export Limited. It planned to import Cola concentrate and sell soft drinks
under the Pepsi label and in return offered to export Juice Concentrate from Punjab.

Depression in Teens
Throughout the world, people are struggling daily with one, if not multiple, mental
illness. Some of these individuals have been diagnosed as a result of symptoms
they exhibit, while others struggle in silence. For those that have received help, life
slowly looks brighter for them, while loved ones work to help in any way possible.
One of the serious mental illnesses that teens struggle with is depression. There are
various aspects as to why an adolescent may develop depression including social,
academic, or family problems, as well as stress or past issues; however, if others
recognize the warning signs, complications can be avoided and treatment obtained to

In addition, he is apt to start abusing substances or have a change in eating patterns
(Goldenberg). All in all, if one has depression, many emotional changes will occur,
eventually causing physical changes which may be viewed as warning signs. Due
to depression, one may develop various other complications that will affect his
lifestyle. These could include difficulty in school, violent behaviors, low self
esteem, addictions to drugs, alcohol, smoking, pornography, or the internet, as
well as the potential of becoming a runaway (Smith, Barston, and Segal). In
addition, one suffering from depression is more likely to have an early pregnancy,
develop an eating disorder, other mental health disorders, harm himself, or even
become suicidal, which is the third leading cause for death of teens ( Teen
Depression ). Overall, if depression is not diagnosed and goes untreated, there is a
high risk that the person suffering from depression will develop other problems in
his life. As a result of emotional changes, warning signs, and complications
developed from the illness, a teen may be taken to a doctor or other professional to
determine whether he is depressed. Depression can be determined by professionals
by conducting psychological tests on a teen, as well as conducting interviews with
the teen, his family, and his friends
The Chicago Teachers Union And Chicago Public Schools
Georgis, Donnell, Mike, Moose
For the second time in almost 4 years, over 350,000 Chicago Public School
Students may not be able to go to school because of the CTU Strike that is currently
in progress today (The Washington Post). The issue between the Chicago Teachers
Union and Chicago Public Schools has not been solved yet due to disagreements
about the income received. The Chicago Teachers Union has made offers to school
administrations; however, the responses were not in their favor. The union has
been in progress of agreeing on a contract since November 2011, [and the strike
that occurred at the time] was the first to hit the Windy City in 25 years
(Liebelson). The issue must have erupted due to a misconception or a realization of
problems occurring. Chicago Teachers Union choosing to strike does not affect
charter schools since they are not a part of Chicago Public Schools. The issue of
school strikes can be fixed by increasing the budgets and providing useful resources
to teachers in order to improve the level of education.
The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) Strike in 2012 affected every single Chicago
Public School and their Students in 2012. The strike affected about 600 public
schools which is over 350, 000 students. The CTU began negotiating their contract
with CPS in November of 2011, but their demands were not met. Since the
negotiating did not solve the issue, the Chicago Teachers Union chose to organize a
strike for the first time in Chicago in 25 years.

Probation And Parole
The history of probation and parole influences the decisions that are made in the
Adult Court System toward the supervision of adult offenders by considering
community corrections and involve supervision in the community. In the criminal
justice system, there are many individuals locked up in local, state, and federal
institutions. John Augustus probation bears much resemblance to probation as it is
practiced today. He took great care in deciding which prisoners were promising
candidates for probation. He also considers the offender s character, age and factors
that would have an impact on the offender after being released. His efforts actually
were resisted by police, court clerks, and turnkeys who were paid only when
offenders were incarcerated (Klein, 1997). The punishment for violating probation or
paroleis to continue supervision or to withdraw and incarcerate the offender. The
selection of these decisions was either too light or strict for the conditions of the
violation. The type of services in adult supervision is determined by how the
offender presents on several areas. The primary goal is to build a strong and safe
community by advancing prospects for individuals on probation or parole to move
out of the criminal justicesystem. A certain percentage of those under the
responsibility of the criminal justice system are supervised on probation or parole.
According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (1997), nearly 2 percent or 3.8 million

Evaluation Of A Clinical Evaluation Essay
With the continuous changes in healthcare, evaluation of students clinical knowledge
and skills relies on the need for continuous evaluation. Evaluation is the process of
using data to make judgements about students individual performance. Evaluation of
clinical performance provides data from which educators use to judge the extent to
which students have acquired specific learningoutcomes (Billings Halstead, 2016).
With the use of best practice evaluation methods, clinical performance can be
evaluated to ensure quality patient care. Educators face a challenging task when
providing evaluation that is fair and reasonable. Tasked with evaluating students in
the clinical setting, educators can evaluate how students integrate theory and apply it
to real life situations. Observations of performance in the clinical setting should focus
on the outcomes to be met and competencies to be developed (Oermann Gaberson,
2014). Developing a clinical evaluation tool to determine whether students can think
critically, prioritize problems, and complete patient care procedures correctly is
essential. There are a variety of evaluation methods to use in nursing education.
Depending on the learning outcomes to be measured will determine which tool best
evaluates the students performance. Clinical practice is an essential and highly
significant component of nursing education. Education programs are obligated to
respond to government requests for well educated healthcare professionals.
Jackie Robinson Role Model

Roosevelt Robinson. You may know him back in his prime as Jackie Robinson.
Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play major league baseball, opened
the door for future African American athletes by overcoming segregation. Jackie had

much maligned player stated in his autobiography I Never Had It Made , I never
cared about acceptance as much as I cared about respect. ordeal was rough for
Robinson due to segregation laws. He was forced to ride in the back of buses, and
some games in which he was scheduled to play were canceled due to his presence.
Nevertheless he proved his worth that season by leading the Royals to the
championship in the Little World Series. His performance made it clear that he was
ready for the major leagues, but not all of the Dodgers were supportive of moving

Examples Of Manipulation In The Crucible
Let either of you breathe a word, or the edge of a word, about the other things, and
I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy
reckoning that will shudder you. Abigail Williams has said this quote during Act I
of The Crucible to the other girls caught dancing in the woods. Abigail is a
seventeen year old who has taken charge of the Salem Witch Trials. Abigail and I
portray common traits such as manipulating others, self centered personalities, and
leading many girls. The first trait that Abigail and I associate with is manipulating
others. During The Crucible Abigail manipulates the girls caught dancing in the
woods and the people of Salem. While she bullied the girls into not telling the truth,
Abby also kept the people of Salem invested in the idea of witchcraft in the town.
Although no one has died by my form of manipulation, Abigail and I share this trait.
My parents sometimes fall into my manipulating ways and my latest action has dealt
with crying in order to get concert tickets. Another time I can be seen manipulating
others is when I ask my friends for gum or food. Normally I will bring up a time
when I gave them something, even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Crucible shows Abigail being self centered by killing many people only to
save herself and running away with all of her uncle s money. While I have not
been as self centered as Abby, I may be found to act in a selfish way. Considering I
am an only child, I only think about how I feel in some cases like making plans
with friends and doing what I want to do. Although my parents never fail to put a
stop to my bad behavior, I sometimes find the habit as a part of my traits. This trait
also kicks in for me when I make my own plans without taking my parents into
consideration. Since I do not have my license yet it becomes a problem when they

The Student Movement and German Terrorism Essay
Introduction The post Second World War period was a tumultuous time for Germany,
as it entailed the division of the nation into two distinct governmental entities West
Germany and East Germany. As West Germany emerged as a bulwark against the
Communist led East Germany backed by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
(USSR), it effectively allowed itself to be modeled by the United States (US) as the
promoter of democracy in Western Europe. The Marshall Plan, which enabled West
Germanyto resurrect its status as an industrialized economy, became the cornerstone
of US involvement in the nation and eventually throughout the rest of Europe. As a

Post War Relationship of the United States (US) and Germany After the Second
World War, Germany was left with a responsibility even larger than what it had
during the First World War. The slaughter of millions of Jewish people by the Nazi
regime placed Germany in an extremely bad light with regard to its reputation and
its defeat in the Second World War left it with almost nothing to give for reparations.
Therefore, the US led in reviving the economic and political fortunes of Germany,
albeit controlling just the western portion of its territory as the USSR took over the
eastern portion. West Germany, which came to be known as the Federal Republic of
Germany, rapidly became a US stronghold in Western Europe, particularly with the
help of the Marshall Plan, which catalyzed the revival of industrialization in the West
German economy. East Germany, going under the formal name the German
Democratic Republic, became increasingly secluded from the US due to Soviet
influence. Trade activities and technological exchanges greatly characterized the
economic relationship between the US and West Germany factors that led the
Americans to propagate its matters on foreign policy related to the Cold War(Turner

Compare And Contrast Florentine Art In The Quattrocento
In the 15th Century, Italy was the hub of the arts, humanism, technological
innovations and science. This period is commonly referred to as the Renaissance, and
it is stated that Florence was in the heart of it, although Venice was also prominent in
its artistic development. In this essay, the characteristics of Florentine and Venetian
art in the Quattrocento will be analysed, and a comparison and contrast between the
two will be conducted.
In the Quattrocento, Italy was divided into different city states, such as Florence,
Venice, Milan and Siena , amongst others, each ruled by its own government. In this
essay, the focus will be on Florence and Venice and smaller cities which were
influenced by their artists. The Renaissance started in Florence, a few years after the
year 1400 . The 15th Century in Italy, also known as the Quattrocento , is often
described as being an era in which there was an increase in abundance and ... Show

The two artists were essential in the development of Florentine art, whereby
Donatello, influenced by Classical antiquity, soon became the best sculptor of his
time, by depicting figures larger than life, such as his St. George Tabernacle, which
is full of movement and realism; St. George s expression sombre, and his pose
naturalistic . On the other hand, Brunelleschi discovered one point perspective, in
turn influencing young artists like Masaccio, whose fresco The Holy Trinity was
revolutionary, as it included all that Ghiberti, Donatello and Brunelleschi had
discovered: drama, realism, emotion and depth, and made use of classical elements.
Such characteristics were to be the basis of Florentine art, which may be
distinguished from attention to design and focus on perspective, and attention to
facial expressions and gestures , and sometimes made references to classical
architecture or subjects like
Positives And Negatives Of Sorority
Animal house, Sydney White, and The Revenge of the Nerds. These are movies
about Fraternities and Sororities that everyday people associate with Greek life;
alcohol, drugs, hazing,Togo parties, manipulation, and debauchery in forms of the
imagination. Although these things do happen on many levels, as the war cry of
the title Admit Nothing, Deny Everything , there are many positives. I have
personally been positively influenced by a sorority that has permanently changed
my life forever. My freshman year of college, I went through recruitment and was
chosen to be a pledge sister for Delta Zeta Sorority. I was immediately surrounded
by older DZ sisters who became my friends and mentors. I was also made to jump
out of my comfort zone with the many projects, and fundraisers the sorority did. I
worked with hearing impaired children, I created the homecoming float, and I
organized formals and mixers. Thoughthese activities I as able to break out of my
shell and have no fear of raising my hand and saying I ll do it . Although Greek life
might not be for everybody, there are positives factors to being a part of
it.Fraternities and Sororitieshave made a tremendous turn from where they first
began in 1776. From being kept secret, because of social status, to now being heard
of in every home. Not many people understand the full meaning of Fraternity and
Sorority, being in a sorority or fraternity is always having a group of people to look

How Did Pope Sixtus Influence The Church
Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon were religious purists of the late
fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. These Spanish monarchs are accredited with
the atrocities that were perpetrated by the governmental and religious authorities in
Medieval Spain. Isabella and Ferdinand viewed the religious diversity in Spain,
increasingly consisting of Muslims, Jews, and New Christians, as harmful and
impure. Catholicism, the primary religion of the land and practice of the monarchs,
was becoming less powerful and less universal. Viewing this as unacceptable, Isabella
and Ferdinand brought the issue to the Pope, Sixtus IV. In response to the tenacious
pressuring from the two, Sixtus agreed to the purposefully vague terms of the Spanish

Pope Sixtus, the church authority who permitted the persecution, was a man of
luxury. Early on in his reign, he established himself as a Pope with expensive taste
and expansive vision. His churches throughout Italy served to put him in a favorable
light amongst the visionaries and upper class. Sixtus greatest achievement during his
reign was his commissioning of the world renowned Sistine Chapel. He
commissioned painters and architects to fill the illustrious ceilings with murals and
religious imagery to emphasize his prosperity. Sixtus obsession with the Papal
image was his major character flaw. His unyielding desire for extravagance was
what allowed his lapse in judgment to occur. The Pope not only had an opportunity
to cast out the notion of an Inquisition as soon as the proposition was brought forth,
he also had an opportunity to extinguish the movement after the realization that his
granted authority was being abused. His willingness to give in to political pressure
even when confronted by injustice is comparable to Pontius Pilate s reaction to Jesus
of Nazareth. Pilate, when the chief priests brought forth Jesus, was faced with the
decision of either displeasing his people, or crucifying a potentially innocent man.
Like Sixtus, instead of choosing the morally upright decision, Pilate chose the
socially and politically convenient choice and gave into the demands of the Jews and

Occupational Justice Theory Paper
Occupational justice theory. According to Causey Upton (2015), participating in
leisure activities has an enormous impact on the health and well being of the aging
population. Occupational justice is a principle that compliments and extends social
justice ideologies (Causey Upton, 2015, p. 177). Occupational justice helps support
the needs of people and communities so that they may participate in occupations of
both necessity and choice as part of a moral and empowering society (Causey Upton,
2015, p. 177). Causey Upton (2015) goes on to say that residents who live in nursing
homes experience multiple forms of occupational injustice (p. 177). Some examples
of occupational injustice are occupational imbalance, occupational deprivation, and
occupational marginalization (table 2) (Causey Upton, 2015). Causey Upton (2015)
also says that leisure activities offered in nursing homes may not include residents
who are not provided with accommodations needed to meet their cognitive or
physical needs.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thriving theory is defined as the ongoing process of growing through continuous
human environment interactions resulting in social, physical, and psychological
resilience and growth (Haight, Barba, Tesh, Courts, 2002, p. 18). A study done to
chronicle the importance of everyday activity engagement for those residing in a
nursing home and how it is related to thriving showed a positive association identified
between the two. The most substantial influence in the nursing home resident thriving
was the engagement in activities, dressing nicely, and spending time with someone
who they enjoyed being around (Björk et al., 2017). Björk et al., (2017) states that
participating in meaningful activities and having a positive relationship with others
suggests that the research results are consistent with thriving theory and residents in
nursing homes are shown to have a better quality of life by participating in engaging
activities on a daily
Tim Leary Essay
Timothy Leary, also known as Uncle Tim , The messiah of LSD , and The most
dangerous man in America , was born on October 22, 1920, in Springfield,
Massachusetts. He went to a public high school where he discovered girls and the
ability to attract attention from those in authority. After high school he attended
Jesuit College Holy Cross, but Tim wasn t satisfied with Holy Cross, so he took a
test to get into West Point. He got very high marks and was accepted. Timothy was
very enthused and proud to be at West Point. However, his enthusiasm faded when
he realized that he was being trained not to think, but to follow. One day, on a return
trip from a football game, Timothy was invited to drink with a few of the upper

By the mid 50s he was teaching at Berkeley and had been appointed Director of
Psychological Research at the Kaiser Foundation. His book quot; The Interpersonal
Diagnosis of Personality quot; was enjoying much success. With extensive study,
his team discovered that one third of the patients who received psychotherapy got
better, one third got worse and one third stayed the same, meaning psychotherapy
wasn t really working. His personal life, unfortunately, took a turn for the worse.
Marianne suffered from post partum depression after she had Susan and both her
and Tim started to drink and fight regularly. On Tim s 35th birthday he awoke to
find Marianne in a closed garage with the car running. She was already dead.
Incredibly depressed and feeling that he was quot;practicing a profession that didn
t seem to work, quot; Tim quit his post at Berkeley and moved to Europe where he
was living on a small research grant. In Europe Tim s old Berkeley colleague Frank
Barron visited. He told of his trip to Mexico where he ate sacred mushrooms and had
a religious experience. Barron thought that these mushrooms might be the link to the
psychological metamorphosis that they had been looking for. Tim was unimpressed
at first and ironically warned Barron about losing his scientific credibility. Shortly
after, David McClelland, the director
Home For A New Home
If you need to move from your existing home to a new home in California, the train
tracks you embark on may actually be a roller coaster. If you want to move to San
Francisco or Los Angeles, finding a home that is affordable can be challenging
and in these two cities may not be possible. Sellers are enjoying getting multiple
offers and often sell their homes for above asking price. With the possible
exception of San Diego, the rest of California has a relatively stable housing
market. With that said, buying and selling a home simultaneously is still stressful,
anxiety provoking, and scary. You can be more in control of the selling process by
using For Sale by Owner (FSBO) techniques that can save you up to 6 percent of your
sale prices as a commission to a real estateagent. Additionally, search FSBO sites for
listings of homes in the area you want to buy again, the homes you find may be a bit
more affordable as the seller has no commissions to pay a real estate agent.
No matter what your location, the question is what do you do first sell your home
and then buy one? Or, buy first and then sell? This is as easy to answer as the
question of which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Even more confounding is that are at least four options regarding answering buy or
sell first? In no particular order they are,
1.Buy and sell simultaneously
2.Buy first, and then sell
3.Buy first and rent out your old home
4.Sell first and rent (or stay with gracious relatives) and then

Social Norms And Apartment Analysis
In my apartment my three roommates and I had a kind of seating arrangement that
we followed, so in a way, it has become a sort of social norm for us. It s a lot like
after the first couple weeks of a new semester you kind of have that one seat you sit
in all the time in class and you kind of get upset when someone else sits in it. So,
one of my roommates lays on the couch usually and the other usually lays on the
opposite couch, as for me I usually get stuck with the crappy recliner. So, the other
day I tried to create a little tension in the apartment. One of my roommates gets back
from class later than my other roommate and myself, so I decided to take the spot of
the one roommate that was already back to the apartment. He came to the living
Explication Of Allen Ginsberg Howl
In the 1960 s, Allen Ginsberg was already different from most because of his beliefs
of peace over war, he was an advocate drug user, and a strong believer of gay rights.
He s what you would call a hippie of that time period. Ginsberg also suffered from
mental illness that is very noticeable throughout his actions and poetic pieces such as
Howl. Ginsberg uses this poem to express his life through a different perspective.
He does this by talking through a speaker that the reader can clearly see he s talking
of himself. Throughout his years, one can tell he was truly living life to the fullest
which is shown numerous times in his pieces and his actions as an activist. Ginsberg

His poem the Howl revolves around the time period of the 1960 s and is broken
into three parts. The speaker starts by explaining who the best minds are of his
generation and how they re being destroyed. As for Ginsberg being a hippie, his
beliefs of society were different from others. He states, I saw the best minds of my
generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked, dragging themselves
through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix... (line 1). Ginsburg
states that the best minds of his generation are slowly getting picked off by
madness and he even hints toward the government and even a Buddhist God. The
best minds of his generation aren t the people that one would believe. These
people are the druggies, poets, and bums of society, most closely related to the
hippies of the sixties. In the second part, the speaker explains the what as in, what s
destroying that generation as a whole. The speaker states, Moloch whose mind is
pure machinery! Moloch whose blood is running money! Moloch whose fingers
are ten armies! (line 83). Ginsberg says the name Moloch which is a Buddhist God
that was related to capitalism and war that the America in the poem. The fingers are
ten armies is a reference to the Vietnam War that Ginsberg strongly disagreed with.
The speaker in the third part is directed to Carl Solomon who is a close friend or

Oliver Goldsmith
Oliver Goldsmith (1730 1774)
Oliver Goldsmith was born into a lower middle class Anglo Irish family. He
worked his way through Trinity College, Dublin, studied medicine in Edinburgh,
and toured parts of Europe before taking up a life of writing in London. In 1761, he

Comedy and Ridicule
In An Essay on the Theatre; or, A Comparison between Laughing and Sentimental
Comedy (1773), Goldsmith lays out the true purpose of dramatic comedy:
Comedy is defined by Aristotle to be a picture of the frailties of the lower part of
mankind, to distinguish it from tragedy, which is an exhibition of the misfortunes of
the great. ... If we apply to authorities, all the great masters in the dramatic art have
but one opinion. Their rule is, that as tragedy displays the calamities of the great, so
comedy should excite our laughter by ridiculously exhibiting the follies of the lower
part of mankind.
Laughing Comedy
In An Essay on the Theatre, Goldsmith argued that sentimental comedy was really a
form of bastard tragedy :
Distress, therefore, is the proper object of tragedy, since the great excite our pity by
their fall; but not equally so of comedy, since the actors employed in it are originally
so mean that they sink but little by the fall.
The actor and playwright David Garrick torn between comic and tragic muses, by Sir
Joshua Reynolds.
A Return to Old Forms
In the 1770s, two playwrights, Goldsmith and Richard Brinsley Sheridan, challenged
the format of sentimental comedy by using the older Comedy of Manners, which
dates originally from the Restoration a century or
Similarities Between Sharks And Squids
Organisms need oxygen in order to survive because oxygen is necessary for any
living organism to perform primary cellular respiration. Organisms use Oxygen to
oxidize fats and sugars which in turn generates energy.
Squid and Sharks require special respiratory and circulatory systems because they are
complex organisms that require more energy to live. These more complex gill
structures maximize the amount of oxygen that sharks and squid can obtain from the
ocean. On the other hand, Sea stars are much simpler organisms that don t use much
energy throughout the day, therefore they are able to survive on diffusion alone and
can focus the extra energy that isn t used to power a complex respiratory or
circulatory system to a different part of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While Squid uses a lot of energy throughout the day in order to move escape
getting eaten, they are relatively light and don t use up as much energy when
compared to Sharks. This is because Sharks are very heavy and dense fish, as well
as apex predators. This requires lifestyle means that sharks use much more energy
than squids do, therefor Sharks must absorb more oxygen from the water on a daily
basis than squids do. In order to do that, Sharks gills are equipped with a
countercurrent exchange system, in which the blood flow from the gills goes against
the flow of the water passing through the gills. This system maximizes the amount of
oxygen the sharks can absorb into their bloodstream, which in term maximizes the
amount of energy the sharks can produce through cellular respiration. If the Sharks
gills weren t equipped with the countercurrent system, and the blood flowed in the
same direction as water passing through the gills, the sharks would only be able to
absorb about 50% of the oxygen in the water, due to the fact that the water and the
blood would reach equilibrium. All in all, the countercurrent system allows for sharks
to move fast and hunt other big strong animals despite their dense and heavy

I ll never forget the day I climbed the Santa Fe College Ropes course. I was

On the bus ride we talked about what it would be like when we would get there. I

positive. It s going be fun Jayden is what I kept telling myself. Once we got there
we were asked to get into groups then choose a partner in the group. I chose
Andrew but we were organized by height so Jasmine and I were selected to be
partners. Jasmine and I volunteered to climb first but Kevin and Kaitlyn begged to
go first so we agreed. The climb was tougher then I thought. I could feel myself

Most Influential Person In My Life Essay

  • 1. Most Influential Person In My Life Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of the most influential person in my life can be both a challenging and deeply introspective task. It requires delving into one's personal experiences, emotions, and reflections to articulate the impact an individual has had on one's life. The difficulty lies not only in narrating the story of this influential person but also in conveying the profound effect they have had on shaping beliefs, values, and character. The process demands a delicate balance between expressing genuine emotions and maintaining a coherent structure. Recounting personal experiences can be emotionally taxing, making it challenging to find the right words to do justice to the significance of the chosen person. Moreover, the essay requires a careful exploration of the individual's qualities, actions, and lessons learned from them, adding an additional layer of complexity. The struggle intensifies as the writer grapples with the responsibility of presenting a narrative that is both engaging and authentic. There is an inherent vulnerability in sharing personal stories, and this vulnerability can be intimidating. Striking the right tone, avoiding clichГ©s, and ensuring that the essay resonates with the reader requires a high level of writing skill and introspection. Despite the challenges, writing an essay on the most influential person in one's life can also be a therapeutic and enlightening experience. It provides an opportunity for self-reflection and appreciation, allowing the writer to acknowledge the profound impact of a significant figure. However, the difficulty remains in articulating these emotions and experiences with clarity and coherence. In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on the most influential person in one's life requires navigating through a complex web of emotions, memories, and reflections. It demands a high level of self-awareness and writing proficiency to convey the depth of the connection and the transformative nature of the relationship. It is an endeavor that goes beyond mere storytelling; it is an introspective journey that challenges the writer to communicate the intangible impact of a singular individual. For those who find themselves grappling with such a task or seeking assistance in expressing their thoughts eloquently, it's worth considering external support. • 2. Master Resilience Training Essay The United States Army s master resilience training is used to grow and thrive in the face of challenges and bounce back from adversity. Build core competencies that enable mental toughness, optimal performance, strong leadership, and goal achievement (Reivich CSF2, Master Resilience Training Version 3.1 Participant Guide, p. 7). The Master Resilience Trainer Course (MRT C) trains resilience skills in order to provide the Army with a cadre of resilience and performance training experts (Army Regulation 350 53, para 4 3 (a) (2)). The MRT C is what is known in the Army as Train the Trainer, meaning when the Soldier graduates the course he/she then is a subject matter expert. Students must pass the written exam (multiple choice and True/False) on Day 9 with a 70% score or higher in a 1 and 1/2 hour period. This test is closed book and covers all course materials. Students who fail to score 70% or higher will receive additional training at the end of class on Day 9 and will retest on Day 10. Failure to pass the exam with a 70% or higher in the second test will result in class drop and the student will not be awarded the 8R Additional Skill Identifier (ASI) (Army Regulation 350 53, para 4 3 (a) (3) (c)).... This update made Master Resilience Training a three year requirement. The MRT instructors will teach one module every quarter, and for two quarters will teach two modules. When teaching a module the MRT instructor will be using all the teaching material that was taught during his or her MRT C. This will ensure continuity between what the MRT instructor learned and what is being taught to the
  • 3. Twenty One Pilots Compare And Contrast Through the years, music has drastically evolved, and affected most of our lives. There are many cases of music becoming a lifestyle of sorts for certain people, myself included. Music changes based on the fads of the age; sometimes made to conform and often laughed at by later generations. I think we can all agree that the truly good musicis the music that does not conform to the latest fads, but does just the opposite. In this case, I m talking about the two bands Twenty One Pilots and My Chemical Romance, both bands that were/are very diverse from what people were/are used to. The two bands are very different; varying in music style, energy, and themes. While the bands are different, they share a very similar fan base and both hold the same messages; to love yourself and to ignore those who put you down. Twenty One Pilots and My Chemical Romance are two very popular bands from two very different generations of music that are notoriously emo. When I say emo in this particular example, I simply mean emotional music, rather than the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Twenty One Pilots is much calmer than My Chemical Romance, focusing more on a despaired feeling rather than the angry feeling My Chemical Romance often conveys in their music (the fact Twenty One Pilots never curses further enforces this idea). Of course, this is not to say that Twenty One Pilots never gets a bit angrier in their songs, (or that My Chemical Romance can t get sad and slow), but whenever they do, it s a more passive aggressive kind of angry (for example, the song Fairly Local). Like I said, more despaired. Kind of like that one really scary person and whenever they get angry they get really quiet and you know they mean business. Twenty One Pilots makes music of all genres; from gospel to screamo to ukulele to rap, they make music from every genre (except for country; I m not sure

A Life Worth Living In Jojo Moyes s After You I loved a man who had opened up a world to me but hadn t loved me enough to stay in it. is a very popular quote from the breathing novel After You by Jojo Moyes. After You is the sequal to Me Before You which leaves Louisa an entirely different character. When she took the job as Will s caregiver, she never thought his choice to medically kill himself would leave her the way it did. After You goes throught the motions of the people left to mourn Will s death, specifically Louisa. The theme of this book can easily be narrowed down to living, Lou is left to figure out how to put together a life worth living. She was taking care of Lily and even developed a love for her that made her almost feel like a mother. They had an incredible relationship, they were best friends, sisters, mothers and daughters because yes, even sometimes Lily was the one teaching and taking care of Lou. Together they learned to live by escaping the things that defined them as individuals. Neither of them wanted to let go of this so they worked everyday to respect each other and grow stronger. Lily started working, Lou started dating to some extent and they found happiness in their little flat which began to feel more like home. At Louisa s highest point of understand she wrote, You learn to live with it, with them. Because they do stay with you, even if they re not living, breathing people any more. It s not the same crushing grief you felt at first, the kind that swamps you, and makes you want to cry in the wrong places, and get irrationally angry with all the idiots who are still alive when the person you love is dead. It s just something you learn to accommodate. Like adapting around a hole. I don t know. It s like you become... a doughnut instead of a bun. Louisa remembered what it was like to love the life she had been given and share it with Will even though he no longer physically existed in

The Bible s treatment for anxiety involves more than just the anxious person doing the right things, saying the right prayers, following a proper diet and getting the right amount of sleep. It also involves friends. Matthew 6:25 34 says, 25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. • 9. The Flea John Donne Analysis I think Donne s mixture of sexual and religion was not odd because Donne was able to combine these two images to form a godly setting. This unusual technique was seen in Donne s The Flea and the Holy sonnet poems. In the Flea poem, he showed a man and woman occupying spiritual roles who struggled with the idea of not having sexual relations before marriage. The idea was for the characters to refrain from having sexual relations before marriage. According to the lecture video, Donne s Holy Sonnetreferred to Donna and God raping Donna. Again, in the Holy Sonnet Donne took sexual elements, and put them in spiritual realms (Lecture Video). I believe this unusual tencqiunce was interesting because he used outlandish and egregious observations to capture the reader s attention. I enjoyed the portrayal of the poem the flea because it declared a dedication to a godly love that rose above the physical love. In line 15 it states, cloister d in these living walls of jet (15). In this line the use of the word cloister meaning, the flea was on the walls of a church, which was symbolic of a wedding taking place. The wedding symbolized a couple, who got married. • 10. Synthesis Essay On Technology In Schools Technology today is further along and more complex than it has ever been. Technology has found its way in our everyday lives one way or another. From our cars becoming self driving, to technology being widely used in the school system. However some people, believe that technology should be separated from the schools, saying it causes more harm than help. I, on the other hand, completely disagree. That could not be any further from the truth in all reality. Technology gives us much easier ways to learn, a streamlined way to communicate with teachers, and can provide more creative freedom than without it. In Source E, it states that children these days are exposed to far too much information to actually be able to learn anything. Think about how little sense that makes. How could being exposed to so many interesting and new ideas that you alone could not possibly have come up with, be a bad thing. With things like REMIND, any time throughout the day, children or parents are able to communicate directly with their teachers to find out more information. The educators are beginning to interact with students, parents and each other in ways they never have before. (Source B) For people to say that technology has ruined communication and outside exposure for today s generation, like Source F tries to convey with the image of the boy watching a nature program on the television instead of going outside and experiencing it hands on, is an outdated thing to say. In all actuality people have never been more connected than they are now. Today anyone in the world is a click away from a conversation with anyone
  • 11. Addressing Crohn s Disease When a person has one, it doesn t mean that by this time next week, it will go away. It means that they will continue to deal with the symptoms of that disease until the day they die. That is a daunting thought, often too large in scale for anyone to truly take seriously. Crohn s Disease is one of those diseases that is improperly evaluated by the general public. Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson battles it daily, yet is currently serving a 10 game suspension from the NFL for cannabis use. Why is there such a disconnect between people who suffer from the disease and the doctors who treat them, and the general public who believe those taking the drug are using it as an excuse to get high? Multiple studies have confirmed that you can achieve complete remission by using medical marijuana to combat Crohn s. In Henderson s case, he has tried to explain his use. Finding what works is by far the hardest part of it all. At one point, I was taking 30+ pills a day to battle the disease and it caused permanent damage to my liver in the process. If Henderson using a natural, plant based method to treat his disease is the solution to his problem, what is the NFL trying to stop here? Not only is it helping manage his symptoms, he finally has hope for a normal life. Hope is a rare emotion that can manifest itself in plenty of ways. He may have found his in an uncommon way. Dealing with Crohn s Disease is similar to standing on the side of an Olympic sized swimming pool with a cinderblock attached to your feet. When it is flaring up, it feels as if the cinderblock has been kicked inside the pool, you re constantly trying to swim upwards to try and get a breath. The depression will weigh you down, the pain will weigh you down, the self doubt will weigh you down. If you re given a life raft, you take

Candidates or employees do not even have the opportunity to apply for these positions and at times, would not know that these promotional opportunities exist. Among these, microcontrollers stand as a lower cost alternative, satisfactory reliability, simplicity, reduced consumption energy, however, with limited memory capacity and processing. A microcontroller contains a processor, memory access and peripheral input / output. It is a microprocessor that can be programmed for specific functions, in contrast to other general purpose microprocessors (such as those used in PCs). Basically, the use of a microcontroller is in the processing of data from one of your peripherals, with the set of output data. For example, send data via serial port or generate a reaction in system as an LED light. The architecture of a microcontroller generally consists of a core processing, bus and Peripherals: Processing core consists of the data processor (calculations, flow control program, etc.) and administration of peripherals. Bus is divided into data and address, is on the lines of communication between the processor and peripherals. Peripherals characterize the set of features available by the microcontroller and are controlled by the processor. For example, memory, serial port, parallel port and AD converter. Microcontrollers are typically used in automation and control products and peripherals, such as control systems of automotive engines, remote controls, machines, etc.

Lord of the Flies was created by William Golding, an English novelist that studied at Oxford where the experience allowed for his writing to grow and develop. The main purpose of the novel was to portray the struggle of a group of boys in the era of war. It is aligned off of personal experiences the author had in World War II, the severity and insanity allowed him to have a corrupted view on the world and everything inside of it ( William Golding, N.P.). Much like Oxford, being apart of the Royal Navy influenced his book greatly, he used his personal experiences here to shape the basis of the novel. Although in the normal standards there is no conch, there is still an assembly that brings people together (1). They are using this tool to build a civilized manner in a place where the main purpose is to be wild and savage. The conch stands for democracy. Having the conch allows anyone holding it to speak their mind as opposed to one person completely controlling the others. This causes a huge riff between the boys who want to be civil and the others who want to be free. Later in the story when the conch breaks it is a symbol of the destruction of society. The conch shatters from the savagery while destroying the civility. Meaning that the savage boys kill one of the others who is attempting to keep this norm. The new life is a symbol of independence from society, the boys believe now that they are without adults and police that they are free from all civil duties. The adults and police set a structure, now that those are gone so is the necessity to abide by rules. William Golding shows this through one of the characters named Roger, in this spot he is fighting the inner battle to hurt or not. Roger gathered a handful of stones and began to throw them. The Overlooked Richness of the Recitatives of Bach s Cantata 78 In Expressivity in the Accompanied Recitatives of Bach s Cantatas, George J. Buelow writes that although many of the distinguishing properties of Bach s music have been studied over the years, few scholars have examined Bach s recitatives or have given them proper credit. He notes that these recitatives generally either are ignored by musical scholarship or are briefly discussed with general errors or confusion. 1 For example, he cites Jack Westrup as stating that Bach s recitatives are basically an adaptation of the idioms of Italian opera (19), and he mentions others who term them improvisatory or unrelated to the text. Buelow asserts that informed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these instrumentally guided recitatives even contain arioso segments, melodious passages that may seem out of place in a standard recitative. Two such recitatives that Buelow does not mention are the intriguing movements 3 and 5 of Cantata No. 78. In the first of these two examples, the arioso section lasts for the last four and a half bars of the piece and helps show the shift from the sinner s inner monologue to an outward presentation of his grief to Christ. In the second, the arioso spans the last dozen andante bars of the piece and illustrates a similar shift from the text s discussion of Christ s strengthening of mankind through his suffering to an individual s placement of his own suffering heart before Christ. To most Baroque theorists, recitatives were simply a form of sung speech, an oration in tones (25). Buelow points out that while Bach is a skilled rhetorician, he is also unusually sensitive to words in his recitative style, finding such a variety of musical and rhetorical means to express them, an atypical accomplishment for the Baroque period (26). Buelow notes several approaches that Bach takes to express his text as he looks in depth at a specific cantata. Cantata No. 78 reveals similar trends, demonstrating Bach s expressivity through vocal and instrumental

An Analysis Of Side By-Side By John Marsden In this teen novel, the author, John Marsden, has chosen to place contradictory themes within the story side by side in order to contrast and display aspects of the story such as character and plot development. Juxtaposition can be defined as a literary technique in which two or more ideas, settings or characters are placed comparatively for the purpose of developing contrasts and differences. This technique is used in a variety of stories even without the intention of a particular idea being juxtaposed. In this case as well as characters and settings, John Marsden has used many opposing themes to this advantage. Further on, the explanation of how particular themes are juxtaposed and how they are contrasted are explained for themes such as dependence and independence, safety and danger and war and peace. The themes of dependence and independence are placed together to contrast while in different time frames. At the beginning of the book, the teenagers were vulnerable and primarily relied on their parents for basic survival. As the story progresses they begin to realise the importance of independence when it comes to survival, especially in the circumstances of war. Starting at the beginning of the story, Ellie and Corrie were chatting about their trip to hell. So, will your parents let you go overseas? I asked. I don t know. • 26. The Importance of Proper Wine Storage A. The Importance of Proper Wine Storage While most of the commodities are consumed within 24 hours from the time of purchase, wines are often preserved for long term storage and aging. Wine is one of the things that get better with time when stored and aged properly but it can also spoil and deteriorate rapidly if kept in inappropriate condition. Proper storage and aging will enhance the wine s flavor, color and quality in general. In order for us to better understand the concept of preserving and aging of wines, the following critical elements should be taken into consideration. 1.Light Wines, especially white wines should not be subjected to excessive amounts of light. Wines should not be stored under direct sunlight and fluorescent lights with ultraviolet light in the wavelength of 325 to 450 nm. Light may adversely react with the chemical compounds in wine and create potential wine faults or defects which often leads to the wine having a lightstruck aroma (or gouts de lumiere French for tastes of light). A wine with a lightstruck aroma is characterized by a decrease in citrus aroma, while the intensity of unpleasant aroma increased. Wine stored in dark area are mostly to maintain its clarity and citrus aroma thus, most wines are packed in colored glass and stored in dark cellars. 2.Humidity Humidity is also a critical element of wine storage to be considered especially if wine cork closures and stoppers are used. The most obvious criticism of Christiano s proposal is that regardless of a regulation s intent or effect, regulation of campaign expenditures is an infringement on freedom of expression. Many consider one s allocation of one s own resources to be a mode of expression, and the Supreme Court has generally upheld this view in Buckley vs. Valeon and Citizens United vs. FEC. In this sense, limiting campaign expenditure is specifically limiting those who are able and willing to provide private expenditures from doing so. Such a limitation can been seen as a violation of freedom of expression, and Christiano s proposal to limit certain expressions in order to promote freedom of expression can seem absurd. Christiano, however, argues that this temporary limitation is not an unduly interference because the cost of campaign regulation on freedom of expression is surpassed by its benefits for freedom of expression. He admits that the affluents will be restricted from fully wielding their economic advantages, but he claims that this limitation will preserve and promote diversity of opinions during the campaign period and also ensure long run development of discussions. • 37. Probation And Parole The history of probation and parole influences the decisions that are made in the Adult Court System toward the supervision of adult offenders by considering community corrections and involve supervision in the community. In the criminal justice system, there are many individuals locked up in local, state, and federal institutions. John Augustus probation bears much resemblance to probation as it is practiced today. He took great care in deciding which prisoners were promising candidates for probation. He also considers the offender s character, age and factors that would have an impact on the offender after being released. His efforts actually were resisted by police, court clerks, and turnkeys who were paid only when offenders were incarcerated (Klein, 1997). The punishment for violating probation or paroleis to continue supervision or to withdraw and incarcerate the offender. The selection of these decisions was either too light or strict for the conditions of the violation. The type of services in adult supervision is determined by how the offender presents on several areas. The primary goal is to build a strong and safe community by advancing prospects for individuals on probation or parole to move out of the criminal justicesystem. A certain percentage of those under the responsibility of the criminal justice system are supervised on probation or parole. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (1997), nearly 2 percent or 3.8 million adult men and women
  • 38. Evaluation Of A Clinical Evaluation Essay With the continuous changes in healthcare, evaluation of students clinical knowledge and skills relies on the need for continuous evaluation. Evaluation is the process of using data to make judgements about students individual performance. Evaluation of clinical performance provides data from which educators use to judge the extent to which students have acquired specific learningoutcomes (Billings Halstead, 2016). With the use of best practice evaluation methods, clinical performance can be evaluated to ensure quality patient care. Educators face a challenging task when providing evaluation that is fair and reasonable. Tasked with evaluating students in the clinical setting, educators can evaluate how students integrate theory and apply it to real life situations. Observations of performance in the clinical setting should focus on the outcomes to be met and competencies to be developed (Oermann Gaberson, 2014). Developing a clinical evaluation tool to determine whether students can think critically, prioritize problems, and complete patient care procedures correctly is essential. There are a variety of evaluation methods to use in nursing education. Depending on the learning outcomes to be measured will determine which tool best evaluates the students performance. Clinical practice is an essential and highly significant component of nursing education. Education programs are obligated to respond to government requests for well educated healthcare professionals.

Abigail Williams has said this quote during Act I of The Crucible to the other girls caught dancing in the woods. Abigail is a seventeen year old who has taken charge of the Salem Witch Trials. Abigail and I portray common traits such as manipulating others, self centered personalities, and leading many girls. The first trait that Abigail and I associate with is manipulating others. Therefore, the US led in reviving the economic and political fortunes of Germany, albeit controlling just the western portion of its territory as the USSR took over the eastern portion. West Germany, which came to be known as the Federal Republic of Germany, rapidly became a US stronghold in Western Europe, particularly with the help of the Marshall Plan, which catalyzed the revival of industrialization in the West German economy. Catholicism, the primary religion of the land and practice of the monarchs, was becoming less powerful and less universal. Pope Sixtus, the church authority who permitted the persecution, was a man of luxury. Early on in his reign, he established himself as a Pope with expensive taste and expansive vision. His churches throughout Italy served to put him in a favorable light amongst the visionaries and upper class. Sixtus greatest achievement during his reign was his commissioning of the world renowned Sistine Chapel. He commissioned painters and architects to fill the illustrious ceilings with murals and religious imagery to emphasize his prosperity. Sixtus obsession with the Papal image was his major character flaw. His unyielding desire for extravagance was what allowed his lapse in judgment to occur. The Pope not only had an opportunity to cast out the notion of an Inquisition as soon as the proposition was brought forth, he also had an opportunity to extinguish the movement after the realization that his granted authority was being abused. His willingness to give in to political pressure even when confronted by injustice is comparable to Pontius Pilate s reaction to Jesus of Nazareth. Pilate, when the chief priests brought forth Jesus, was faced with the decision of either displeasing his people, or crucifying a potentially innocent man. Like Sixtus, instead of choosing the morally upright decision, Pilate chose the socially and politically convenient choice and gave into the demands of the Jews and his

If you want to move to San Francisco or Los Angeles, finding a home that is affordable can be challenging and in these two cities may not be possible. Sellers are enjoying getting multiple offers and often sell their homes for above asking price. With the possible exception of San Diego, the rest of California has a relatively stable housing market. With that said, buying and selling a home simultaneously is still stressful, anxiety provoking, and scary.
