Bicycles Are Used All Around The World
Bicycles are utilized all around the world. Some are designed purely for speed on
the road. Others are designed for sturdiness off of the road. People ride bicycles for
various reasons, such as: competition, fitness, and recreation. Further, when
considering bicycles that are used for traveling, specifically commuting to and from
work, the two key features of the bicyclethat should be considered are comfort and
speed. However, once an appropriate bicycle is designed and developed, the next step
in the marketingprocess is testing the product. The market testing strategy that is
being tested for this bicycle prototype involves test marketing the bike and marketing
program in one or two urban areas with large commuting populations before
beginning manufacturing, promoting, and distributing the bike on a national scale.
The goal of the market testing strategy is to garner results that provide information
which will help the marketing team make a more successful national launch. This
strategy is common, and will have multitudinous benefits as well as inevitable
disadvantages that may or may not outweigh the advantages.
The marketing team s sanguine expectations of test marketing the bicycle are
determining whether or not the current design adequately satisfies the needs of the
average commuter. In determining if the market testing strategy will assist the
success of the product launch, it is more important to figure out if the testing will
provide adequate information for the
The Impact Of National Relations Labor Act ( Nlra ) And...
Labor Legislation in the 20th Century
Much of what we know about the improvements in the workforce came from 20th
century advancements with the workforce that we know today. Important
developments came in the form of methodology and data collection efforts. The 20th
century was a remarkable period for the American workers. Despite the initial stages
of labor management, working conditions, wages and benefits improved over the last
century with the workforce increasing six fold over the period (Gould, 1986). This
research will focus on impacts of National Relations Labor Act (NLRA) and the Fair
Labor Standards Act (FLSA) enacted in the 20th century, including major

The law was enacted on July 5, 1935 (Gould, 1986).
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Considered to be a landmark, in 1938 President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the
Fair Labor Standards Act. The nation was experiencing social and economic
development of judicial opposition and depression. This law set national minimum
wages and maximum hours workers can be required to work. Incorporated into this
law are overtime pay and established standards to prevent child labor abuse.
Consequently, in 1963 an amendment was made to this law, which prohibited wage
discrimination against women.
Implications Surrounding the Law
NLRA was considered to be the law that affected the relationship among the federal
government and private enterprise; this measure considerably increased the
government s powers to arbitrate in labor relations. Prior to this law, employers had
the emancipation to chastise, spy on, question for no reason and fire union
members. Work stoppages commenced in the mid 1930 s (Gould, 1986), which
included striking by factory and industrial occupational workers. By the time the
strikes came to a halt, America had a more conservative Congress. This Congress led
to balance the power between employers and unions. While the Wagner Act
addressed only unfair labor practices by employers, it was added to the enactment of
Marketing Plan For A Marketing Strategy Essay
Financials The budget estimates and financials required for the proper and effective
conduct of this marketing plan throughout calendar year 2016 by On Target of
SoCal can best be broken down and expressed within the following three major
categories; implied, specified, and shared marketing activities. Each of which will be
further addressed in the following paragraphs.
Implied Marketing Tasks The Implied Marketing Tasks include all those marketing
activities conducted directly and routinely by the entire staff of On Target. These
include each and every face to face positive encounter between a staff member and a

Hardest Day Of My Life
22nd September 2015, the hardest day of my life as I received the news that I
could not pass my step 2 CK examination! The only failure of my life and at this
stage! It was even harder, as I was in the United States and had no one to support.
Therefore, I planned to give up, leave a wonderful clinical opportunity, prepone my
flight and go back! Which I did, except for going back! While riding in the subway
for airport, I witnessed an incident of seizures in 7 to 8 years old boy, which
refreshed my objectives.
My path to medicine started as a result of suffering of one of my close friend, when
there was no one there to understand reason of his silence. Nonetheless, topic of
sexual harassment and victimization is a taboo in the underserved areas of
developing countries. The only person who could understand his silence was the
primary care physician, practicing in the neighborhood. That particular incident
diverted my attention towards Medicine. Medicine in my life has never been for me
medicine in my life is a commitment that I made to myself 21 years ago for
alleviating the suffering of others thus anything that exclusively does not belong to, I
cannot give up!
However, I knew that being among those 20% of applicants who could not pass Step
2 CK on the first attempt has increased my journey of road to medicine. Yet, the
Winston Churchill said success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is courage to
continue that counts . Hence, that incident of subway took me to
Cabeza De Vaca s Journey Of Self-Discovery
When Cabeza de Vaca first set out with Panfilo Narvaez in 1526 to explore the
New World he couldn t predict how this journey would change him and his point of
view. After the initial failures of the expedition, Cabeza de Vaca found himself on
Galveston Island were the Kanakawa s, a Native tribe, found him and took care of
him. Being introduced to the Kanakawa s was but the beginning of Cabeza de
Vaca s journey of self discovery. When the Kanakawa s went to the main land they
brought Cabeza de Vaca with them as a slave, where he served as a slave and a
trader for almost six years. After escaping into the interior of Texas, Cabeza de Vaca
met up with three other survivors and escaped together. They decided to make their

The Consequences Of Dettermination And Determination
In...
We live in a world where some traits outshine others like determination.
Determination is when you have the character persevere even when there are
difficult times and some problems happen in the way. Mr. Frank was resolute and
firm about his decision to hide his family, Mr. Dussel, and the Van Daans in the
Secret Annex. Karl s mom had the willpower and strength to get away from the
two soldiers by scratching at one of them so hard, blood started coming down their
face to get a quick moment with her son before she is sent away. Gerda Weissmann
had the power and resolve to be alive today, although before she thought it would be
easier to jump in front of a train and die. It would depend on for everyone if they
were in harsh conditions, whether the setting brings out the worst or best in people,
determination definitely being one of them. The Diary of Anne Frank by Francis
Goodrich and Albert Hackett, Emil and Karl by Yankev Glatshteyn, and One Survivor
Remembers by Kory Antholis all show determination and persistence in their own
way. Germanyat this time was led by Adolf Hitler, a man with a great deal of
unpleasant and terrible beliefs like how the Jewish community back stabbed
Germany in World War II. The outcome is Adolf Hitler wanting to eradicate the
Jewish community due to (accused) backstabbing, even though more than 100,000
German and Austrian Jews served in the war and more than 12,000 died (Stitchling).

Mysteries Of Udolpho Essay
During the romanticism era, many were married due to their similar social
statuses. Wealth was an enormous marriage factor. It was a preposterous idea that
any man or woman should marry down the social ladder. Parents would often make
the final decisions of future marriages. Parents could control their children s ability
to marry before the age of twenty one. Those who disliked their children s choices
might withhold permission or, if the children were of age, leave them out of a will,
(History). Throughout The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe, Emily Aubert is
denied permission to marry her love, Valancourt. Although both of her parents had

Emily s aunt, for example, was obsessed with leading an indulgent lifestyle.
Her aunt then proceeded to examine the simplicity of her dress, adding, that she

shew Emily the splendour of her chateau, and to point out the particular beauty, or
elegance, which she thought distinguished each of her numerous suites of
apartments. (Radcliffe 113 114).
Image was all that mattered to Madame Cheron. Due to this, she was married to
Montoni, who led a false life. This man turned out to be incredibly malicious
towards Madame Cheron, who lived the final portion of her life in constant regret.
Madame Cheron never felt the happiness that both St. Aubert and Madame St.
Aubert felt with each other because she could not overcome her worldly desires.
This served as one of Ann Radcliffe s lessons on the importance of marrying for joy.
Another lesson was the way Valancourt s aunt, Madame Clairval, handled his and
Emily s future marriage. Madame Clairval was indignant to the idea of being
connected to Madame Cheron in any way. The idea of her nephew marrying Emily
was unappealing yet, she allowed

Heather Voke Policy Analysis
Many have voiced their concerns over the many issues within the teaching
profession. Heather Voke of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum
responds to one issue, the teacher shortage, by researching the nature of the shortage,
its probable causes, problems resulting from the shortage, and frequently
recommended policy changes. According to Voke (2003), 42 percent of all teachers
leaving depart for lack of job satisfaction, to pursue another career, or better career
opportunities. Low salaries and lack of public respect also impacts teacher retention.
Policy recommendations to retain teachers include: salary increases, high quality
induction programs, prohibit out of field teaching, include teachers in decision
making, developing current teachers, collaboration with universities to attract and
train teachers, and reduce class size. Voke suggests that policy makers and
educational leaders do not understand the nature of the teacher shortage. Moreover,
developing programs to attract candidates and not properly train them risks wasting
valuable resources. According to Heller (2004), education is notorious for a low
survival rate of new teachers. Teachers feel isolated because they have little... Show

Even though traditional programs are not something to be disregarded the statistical

Neurotic Imposture
The Dangers of Feeling Like a Fake by Manfred F. R. Kets de Vries showed how
faking it til you make it can lead to damaging a person and their career, especially
if they re a victim to neurotic imposture. A person who has neurotic imposture feels
as though they don t deserve success and that they are basically fakes or impostors.
This article begins with a story about a man by the name of Tobin Holmes who
feared he couldn t take on his job s responsibilities because he wasn t good enough.
Tobin felt he was an imposter and would be exposed for who he truly was.
Neurotic imposture can take toll over successful people and turn their life for the
worse; a success into a failure. Vries explained, to some extent, of course, we are all
impostors . As humans we take on the roles that try to show a different side to others
publicly and then a private, different life. Neurotic impostors suffer more by feeling
alone than others and they are located at all levels of an organization.... Show more

For neurotic impostors, positive achievements and efforts must be shown at early

of how to get it done or actually being the right person to do it. Neurotic imposture is
more than bluffing but it s a serious case that can alter an individual s life because
they are constantly feeling unequal to the next person. Everyone has had a time
where they felt they weren t able to complete a task, but by having neurotic

the person is already highly qualified for their position. In this case, faking it til you

Influence of Greek and Roman Temples Essay
Greek and Roman temples are the most influential temples of all times. It is argued
that the Greek influenced the Romans and this may be the reason why their temples
are so alike. The Parthenon and the Pantheon are the most popular temples of both
eras. However, the Pantheon does not look like other roman temples would to Greek
temples and this is because it has interior space and thus has a completely different
composition. Despite their quite similar looks, Roman and Greek temples have
unique differences in material, method, purpose, and others.

Agrippa, Augustus right hand man, constructed this building as a temple to all the
gods; however, a fire destroyed this temple in 80 CE and so Domitian built the
reconstruction. The Pantheon we are familiar with has a significantly different
design than the original one, and this is why this specific temple is so dislike to the
rest of the Roman temples. Before it was burnt, the Pantheon stood in a podium at
the end of a large rectangular court. The surroundings of this temple have changed in
order to provide a unique experience to its visitors. For example, the temple has en
enormous dome with a 27 foot oculus that opens to the sky. This oculus lets a shaft of
light come through creating an emphasis wherever the reflection is. Visitors were
driven nowhere but to the light at the center of the dome. This building was built for
greeting foreign embassies, adjudicating disputes and hold court (Janson). Moreover,
the Pantheon is extraordinary because of the potential and strength of concrete. Some
other materials used in the process of building the temple include travertine, tufa,
brick, and pumice. These materials varied in order to reduce its weight. The colored
marble on the wall symbolized imperial authority. The sphere is though to symbolize
eternity and perfection and the bronze panels symbolized a starry night sky.

Strategic Leadership

differ from strategic management, and discuss the importance of strategic leadership
for the competitive success of a firm.
Strategic leadership is difficult to describe as a concept; however it is easy to
distinguish when it is in action. Leaders pay close attention to small details to ensure
that the big picture may one day become realized. Strategic leadership is being able to
develop competencies for dealing with extensive, new challenges of leading in the
industry that they are in. In an attempt to define strategic leadership I begin to define

It seems that a leader has better interpersonal skills that enable them to get others to
do what they wish more easily. Both managers and leaders strive to achieve their
organizations goals however each tries to accomplish these goals differently. For
example a leader gives his followers empowerment which enables them willingly
follows and have a personal stake in acquiring those goals. A manager uses their
organizational power to dictate what should be done and when. Their authority
expects complete compliance from their subordinates. Managers and leaders scan
their external and internal environments for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
threats (SWAT analysis). Each motivates their subordinates in a different manner.
This is the point where leaders and managers get defined. If others internalize the
organization s goals and believe that they can help achieve them through hard work,
they have been inspired by leaders. If they are given orders and expected to comply
automatically, they are under the authority of a manager. The importance of strategic
management results in good organization conditions that include the devotion of its
employees to work hard and have good work ethics. They feel part of the
organization s success when it reaches its expectations.

3.Cross tabulation of two variables
A cross tabulation is a two dimensional frequency distribution of two nominal or
ordinal variables that records the frequency of respondents that have the specific
characteristics. These tables provide a wealth of information about the relationship
between the variables. For an example I chose to use poverty levels and smoking to
show how a contingency table can illustrate a frequency distribution. Poverty level
is a nominal variable that will be the independent variable and the dependent
variable will be smoking. The end table is a chi square test and it is used to
determine if the variables are unrelated.

Jean Piaget s Four Stages Of Cognitive Development
Jean Piaget was a psychologist who spent numerous years studying children and
writing on their development. Psychology played a major role in understanding
the development of intelligence in children. Piaget s methods for doing accurate
research required meticulous observations then he reported on what was observed.
He started out making observations using his own three children as they engaged
in several different tasks, then moved to other children and young adults. After
concluding very extensive research he created a detailed stage theory of
development known as Piaget s 4 stages of cognitive development . The first stage
is known as The Sensorimotor Stage , these are children from birth to 2 years of
age. Babies use movements and sensations to discover the world around them, they
only know basic actions such as sucking, grasping, looking and listening.
Throughout this stage they understand their movements can cause things to occur.
During this stage the foundations of language development is laid. The
Preoperational Stage is the next stage of Piaget s cognitive development, these are
children from 2 to 7 years of age. During this stage children begin to think
symbolically; they are getting better with language and thinking. Children in this
stage typically still see things only from their own perspective, not others. The
development of language is how someone can determine if a child has entered the
preoperational stage. Children become experienced at pretend play, but still
struggle with logic and reasoning. Third stage of Piaget s cognitive development is
The Concreate Operational Stage , these are children from 7 to 11 years old.
Children at this stage can think rationally about real events. They can have an
understandable conversation because their logic is more organized. During this stage
self centeredness begins to disappear because children are better at using logic and
thinking about others. Children also understand that not everybody thinks the same
way they do, everyone has their own thoughts, feelings and opinions. The last stage
in Piaget s cognitive development is The Formal Operational Stage , these are
children 12 and up. Children are considered adolescent or young adult and
Chang Dental Clinic Case Analysis
Chang Dental Case Analysis
When Miller considered Chang s Clinic to be an opportunity, he desired to research
the ability in obtain a loan so he could pursue the American dream. It is loyalty that
keeps the dental business alive and growing and Despite Miller being the new guy
telling clients to say ah, he anticipated he would grow substantially (50% of 04 05)
within the first year. After reading this assumption it immediately told me he s
confident in obtaining the loyalty of Chang s clients. I m not a dentist, but I assumed
this loyalty was imperative to survival and makes this business profitable. After
reviewing the income statement and balance sheet provided, that was determined to be
a fair assumption. Chang acquired this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another trait that can t been seen in a balance sheet is that we despise of new
clinics due to uncertainty, location, paper work, etc , so the clients will obviously
give Miller a chance. The most valuable asset for this clinic is its goodwill,
stemming from the ability to build a favorable relationship with your client. It
includes in the text that Miller is known for being talkative and concerning of his
patients so this is pleasing and maybe letters of recommendation from his previous
employers (where he was an associate) will be considered by the loan officer.
General principles of valuating a business evolve into behemoth variables. Growth
is one of the first things that are reviewed and even though there isn t an industry
percentage to compare, the numbers are compelling when its goodwill is
questioned. Starting in2003, He netted $83,000 the first year and grew rather
quickly reaching an impressive net income of $264,000 in 2005. Even though
Chang had a helping hand in his first year, the growth the following year was 40%,
so clients were very pleased with Chang and loyalty was altered to the new dentist
rather quickly. Chang s success is relevant in deciphering Millers loan risk because
with his prediction of growth in 2006, he plans on thriving from Chang s success and
obtaining the loyal customers of Chang. If he s
Characters In Disgrace Sparknotes
In 1997, South Africa entered the post Apartheid, a system which not only the
colored but other nationalities were severely restricted under the power of the white
minority. Blacks were not permitted to pay taxes so they couldn t benefit from them,
they were not even considered citizens and were not allowed to register in the white
schools. Segregation took place by having people attend their own hospitals and
restaurants. The post apartheid South Africais described as a depressing period that
rulings was based on nationality, race, and gender (Gradin).
Disgrace opens up with the life of David Lurie, a 52 year old white professor of
Romantic Poetry, twice divorced, and basically, lives for his financial and emotional
means. His life filled with desire, but lacking in passion (Coetzee). This novel tells the
Story of David and his daughter Lucy Lurie, who are living in post apartheid South
Africa. Every week he meets his sexual needs by visiting a prostitute. But still feels
empty and seduces one of his students that makes him feel young again, Melanie.
Although Melanie Issacs was a minor character in the novel, her role or what she
made of it, is what gave this story s interesting plot.
Everything falls apart and David Lurie s life falls into disgrace after being charged
with sexual harassment. He is then prompted to leave his position at the university so
he moves to his daughter s farm with the hopes the incident will stay behind him.

Speech On The Dustbin Baby
A woman who was dumped in a dustbin after her birth, some 46 years ago, finally
met her mother.
According to a report from Daily Mail, Michelle Rooney was adopted after she was
found in a bin bag outside a block of flats in Walthamstow, east London, on
November 18, 1968. Her biological mother, Angie Smith, then 23 years old, hid her
pregnancy and gave birth to her in a garden shed.
Fast forward, Rooney, now a mother of two, appealed publicly to her long lost parent.
In an emotional appeal, Mirror reported, she said: Mum, if you are reading this,
please get in touch with me. I m not angry with you, I ve never hated or blamed you,
but I d like some Вanswers.
The two finally met. Without hatred towards her biological mother, Rooney talked ...

Rooney was found in a bin bag by Fay Bliss, a passer by who heard her cries in the
middle of a cold night.
The discovery sparked a media frenzy with the then unnamed child becoming known
as The Dustbin Baby.
When nobody coming forward to claim her, Rooney was adopted by policeman Les

their other children, unaware of how the family found her.
On her 21st birthday, Rooney learned how she had come to be adopted, reading
about herself as the Dustin Baby in newspaper cuttings from the day she was found.

Meanwhile, Smith, who already had two sons from her collapsed marriage, had spent
years feeling the guilty of abandoning her only daughter, Mirror reported.

Conditioning Project Essay
You asked the following questions: We are involved in a project that is to be used
as a reconditioning facility for a car dealership. There are two areas within this
building where motor oil (Class IIIB combustible liquid) is to be stored. The first
area is on the ground floor and consists of two 500 gallon double wall tanks that are
to be located in a room that is approximately 514 sq. ft. in area. The oil located in
the room is fresh oil to be used for the car repair garage. The room height is 15 ft 3

mezzanine and consists of a single 3,900 gallon storage tank. It is to be used as a
waste oil tank and will be located in a room that is approximately 2,800 sq. ft. in
area. The room height is 12 ft 1 in. with tank heights of 47 in. In both cases, the
rooms will be constructed of steel and concrete. Both areas are to be used for other
general storage with no separation from the oil tanks. The tanks are to be
constructed of metal, stationary, and mounted on skid plates relatively low to the
floor level. Each is to have an emergency vent that will discharge inside the
building. The project documents call for ordinary hazard (Group 2) density for
these areas with NFPA 13 being the applicable standard. Our questions are as

design density for this scenario? 2) Assuming NFPA 30 is the correct standard, is
The s Theory Of Human Behavior, Emotion, And Thought
Relationships exist in every possible corner of humanity. The adage regarding
strength in numbers is a relevant point to deliberate when discussing the benefits
and deficits of belongingness. The belongingness hypothesis states that people have
a basic psychological need to feel closely connected to others, and that caring,
affectionate bonds from close relationships are a major part of human behavior
(Selterman, 2014). People are driven to form and keep positive and significant
relationships with others who reciprocate concern and care. The need to belong
motivates human behavior, emotion and thought. Whether looking from a
theological perspective, But you belong to God... (John 4:4, English Standard
Version) or an evolutionary view of cell mutations and adaptations, it is inarguable
that successful procreation ensures the survivability of mankind. In this act of
procreation lies the very reason it is a human necessity to have relationships and
seek a level of belonging. Normal and healthy development depends on the
associations we form and the existence of humanity is proof of the innateness of
belonging. There is abundant evidence that social bonds form easily. Indeed, people
in every society on earth belong to small primary groups that involve face to face,
personal interactions (Baumeister, 1995). Whether the relationship is romantic, filial,
sibling oriented, friendly, or based on a need to survive is of little consequence in
this dialog. It is quintessential
The History and Importance of Cotton
As early as the 1700s, cotton began to make its mark. The United States, in the
1800s, adopted cotton as its leading export and it was one of the world s largest
suppliers of the plant. Cotton allowed for the United States economy to drastically
boom, for most of the world s supply of cotton came from the American Southern
soil. The cotton industry, powered by the extensive and tedious labor of the African
American slaves, generated enormous sums of money for the United States. In many
respects, cotton s financial and political influence in the 19th century can be
compared to that of the oil industry in the early 21st century (Dattel, Web). Although
it was considered a cash crop, cotton was also a nebulous form on destruction that
unknowingly influenced the country to turn to Civil War. It influenced the country in
three major ways: the South to rely on cotton plantations for its profits, to stand by
slavery and its benefits, and to secede from the Union.
Cotton became King in the South in the 18th century. Being the largest exporter of
this benevolent cash crop, it truly ameliorated the country s economy and financial
status. Cotton was indeed the South s economic backbone (Dattel, Web). It supplied
over 75% of the world s cotton need and gave the country about $200 million a year
in profit. Later on, the southern states who decided to secede from the Union to form
the Confederate States of America in 1861, used cotton to provide revenue for its
government, arms and
If Not For Them
If not for them....where would we be? This is a broad question that could be
answered a different way to any person. When I first read through the requirements
for this essay, I perceived it as referring to veterans, because Hays C. Kirby was a
veteran. The more I contemplated it, the more the question puzzled me because there
were so many ways that a person could move forward with it. Finally, I came to the
conclusion that to me, the them that the question asks about, is not one group of
people, but every person that has graced this earth. If even one person had not lived,
our lives would be changed substantially. Every person has impacted you, me, and
everyone around us. As I thought about this even more, I realized just how true that...

Then you have your siblings. When you are the oldest, they look up to you in
every way, which makes you work to be a better role model and a better person. If
you are the youngest, you rely on your older siblings to be that model of what you
are going to be someday. Lastly, look at your grandparents. They set the model for
how your parents act and how they treat the ones around them. The further back you
go in your ancestry, the further back you see how your relatives affected each other
and helped each other. Then there is you at the bottom of the tree, and eventually, you
will affect just as many people that are related to you.
If not for our friends, where would we be? This one is a little more bit tricky to
describe than some other topics in this essay. Some people have friends that are
not good for them, and others have the best friends that they could imagine. I ve
been lucky enough to have 3 very close friends for quite awhile and I would dare to
claim that they are in the best friends imaginable category. Some people don t get
that opportunity like I have. Without my friends, I would be a totally different person,
and here is why. The thing that we have to realize about friendship is that to make
friends, you have to have courage. Remember that first day of kindergarten when
you didn t know anyone out on the playground? Somehow, your five year old self
found a way to build up enough courage to go talk to the little boy
The Importance Of Catching A Girl s Lacrosse

Lacrosse had started in 1857, girl s lacrosse started in 1890 and was given its name
by french settlers. In 1933, girl s lacrosse was restricted with rules that limits stick
contact, prohibits body contact, and requires protective equipment. In order to play
girl s lacrosseyou should know 3 basic techniques, picking up ground balls, throwing
/catching, and cradling. Ground balls are simple to pick up but requires a lot of
effort at all times. Your right hand has to be at the throat of the stick, preferably a
little bit above the middle and your left hand will be towards the bottom of the stick

Catching a lacrosse ball isn t hard as long as whoever is throwing it to you has
good aim and doesn t hit your face. When catching a lacrosse ball you want to
make sure that your right and left hand are in the same position as picking up
ground balls. Your lacrosse stick has to be towards your right and the back of your
lacrosse stick has to be facing you so that the opening is facing forward. You want
to have your lacrosse stick bent forward so that the person knows you re ready to
catch the ball. Always be sure that when someone is throwing the ball towards you,
your lacrosse stick moves towards whatever direction the ball is heading towards.
For finalization, the ball can be felt when you are holding your lacrosse stick. You
want to get your hands into the same position you were in for catching, make sure
that your right foot is forward and bent, also that the bottom of your lacrosse stick
is in front of your body and the head of the stick is behind your head but to the
right. Now you are able to just throw the ball, but when you do it make sure that the
ball is towards the center in your net so that your throw can be as accurate as

After taking the cultural competence self test assessment from the intercultural

Comparison Of Modern Liberalism And Conservatism
Political Science 1 American Politics Course#26054 Comparison of Modern
Liberalism and Conservatism When I speak of liberalism and conservatism, I also
equate this with the polarization of our two political parties, Republicans and
Democrats, which has only intensified in the past decade. Another point in this
discussion is to compare what I believe to be the differences between, and just as
importantly, the opposite direction that the two groups are traveling in. I think that
due to extremes in modern day conservative and liberal views, that this nation in on
a self destruct path. And, I will also try to show how both the extreme liberal and
conservative ideologies are flawed and harmful to our society. I feel that
conservative and liberal ideals have become a chasm so wide that someday soon
we can t coexist peacefully. This day has not come yet, but it will soon and when it
does the possibility of a civil war like event between the two sides is possible. The
revolutionary conversion that we saw from the Bush to the Obama administrations is
a consummate example. Our communities will not survive the pendulum from far
right to far left. We will lose our stability our delicately balanced intermingled society.
In these modern times, I believe the differences on matters of importance
(government intercession, foreign affair issues, right to life, personal freedoms,
gender roles) is enormous. I ve always thought it interesting that most liberals say

The Filoviridae Family Corresponds To The Order Of...
The filoviridae family corresponds to the order of Mononegavirales. This growing
family of pathogens are filamentous, enveloped viruses with a genome that is
negative stranded RNA (1
2). This family is known to be one of the most pathogenic viruses affecting humans
and is mostly found in bats (their main reservoirs) (3 4). It is believed that these
viruses are transmitted from person to person through body fluids or through objects
that have been previously contaminated with body fluids (5). After transmission and

The envelopes of EBOV and MARV are composed of glycoproteins (GP). GP are
essential for the entry of the viruses into the host cell by attaching to its cell surface
(10). GP is a homotrimer of GP1 (membrane protein) GP2 (transmembrane protein)
heterodimer linked by disulfide bonds (11 12). The mechanism on how GP1 and
GP2 drive the introduction of the virus into the host cell is not well understood yet
(7). However, it is known that is characterized by three steps: attachment, uptake, and
membrane fusion (7). GP1 is involved in adhesion of the receptor with the host cell
surface, whereas GP2 is involved in the virus host cell membrane fusion and entry
(13). In most cases GP1 is believed to bind to different glycosaminoglycans
(GAG) from the host cell i.e. heparin sulfate, to be able to efficiently enter the host
cell (2).
GAGs are negative, unbranched polysaccharides found in mostly all cells surfaces
but differ in composition between species (4). It is believed that GAGs are not the
only possible way of attachment for filoviruses to the host surface, meaning that there
are other host factors that aid in viral entry (2). After attachment, virions get into the
host cell through micropinocytosis followed by endosome trafficking which leads to
membrane fusion (7). A low pH due to the endosomal events is what leads to the
initiation of membrane fusion (7).
G protein coupled receptors (GPCR) are the biggest and most diverse family of

Total Ownership Costs
Total ownership costs
Introduction
Total ownership cost is a financial estimate whose function is to assist customers as
well as organization managers to determine both direct and indirect costs of a system
or product (Contract management. 2006). Total ownership costs, as a management
accounting concept it is applicable in the full cost accounting. In addition, it is
applicable in ecological economics where in includes social costs among other costs.
When it comes to manufacturing, total ownership costs goes beyond the initial
production cycle time as well as costs to make parts. Total ownership costs include
various costs of doing business items such as opportunity costs, ship and re ship.
Moreover, it considers incentives and other variables developed for alternative
approaches such as tax credit, expedited delivery, supplier visits and common
language among others.
Total ownership costs usually provide cost basis, which helps in determining the total
economic value of a certain investment. Examples include economic value added,
rapid economic justification, return on investment and internal rate of return.
Analysis of the total cost of ownership includes operating costs as well as total costs
of acquisition (Contract management. 2006). This analysis helps in gauging the
viability of any capital investment in an organization. An organization may use the
analysis as a comparison tool for its products. Total ownership costs relate directly to
the organization s
Evaluate the Role and Benefit of Self-Service Technology...
In today s world, information technology advancement has prompted the
development of self service technologies. Self service technologies (SSTs) are the
technological interfaces that allow customers to co produce the services to serve by
their own. It has brought significant changes to service retailers as it has changed the
way that how firms provide services to customers and how customers interact with
firm. It enables customers perform entire services by themselves without direct
assistance from employees and makes servicetransactions become more accurate and
convenient. Kiosks, Internet, interactive voice response, and mobile services are
types of SSTs that using by firms. (Castro et al., 2010, Meuter et al., 2000,NCR,
2008 and NCR,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, regarding the use of SSTs in airline service, passengers can check in
at airport by using the check in kiosks themselves instead of lining up in front of the
service counter to check in. According to SITA s Airline IT Trends Survey
п¬Ѓndings (SITA, 2009), it forecasts that the use of agent service for check in will
be dropped almost 30% and use of self service check in kiosks will be increased
almost 8% by 2012. It shows that there is a trend that passengers are more likely to
use the SSTs to serve them by their own and the use of agent services will be
decreased. So the airline companies can hire fewer crews for providing the agent
services and it would then reduce the cost of training their employees for
performing the agent services. According to Forrester Research (Jones, 2004), self
service check in costs an airline 16 cents per passenger as opposed to $3.68 per
passenger by means of an airline agent. Thus, it means that a company which has
employed SSTs may lower their cost as the cost of employing SSTs is much lower
than the rising labor cost.
Another benefit of employing SSTs to service retailers is that it may gain a
competitive advantage over competitors. Delivery of high service quality is a
primary source of competitive advantage for service providers. As co production
through SSTs has become more popular
The Aging Process
New medical studies on the aging process have given additional insight into what
happens, as people get older. A normal process of aging is that vision decreases, but
it is more than just not seeing well. Receptors in the eye do not function as well
impairing light entering the eye. Naturally occurring problems such as cataracts
and glaucoma only worsen these symptoms. In an article written by Betsy Brawley
and Mark Taylor titled, Designing for Senior Care Environments, they state that
because of this, Approximately 90 percent of all information most of us learn in a
lifetime comes through our eyes. Normal age related changes disrupt our capacity
to see. (Brawley). Due to the decrease in visual awareness seniors can experience
significant repercussions on their psychological. Routines and common tasks
become difficult making even simple tasks frustrating at times. Losing self
independence can begin a dangerous path to depression and feelings of
helplessness. As people age they do not see the world in the same shades of color.
Most seniors see with a tint of yellow due to hardening of the lens around the eye.
Details are not as sharp so it is not as easy to see subtle color changes and some
patterns. The process occurs so gradually that most people do not notice the colors
and lights getting dimmer. This could be an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Much of the focus was on ease of access for the staff tending to the seniors. This is
still an important factor and any design should allow for function as a primary goal.
Being able to provide medical services, both routine and urgent, is one of the main
reasons that assisted living facilities exist, but not the only one. The psychological
impact of living in these facilities needs to be considered. Many seniors suffer from
feelings of depression as they feel that they are losing their independence. Creating an
environment that is comfortable and soothing is

saying Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer/ The slings and arrows of
outrageous fortune; (III.i.64) Shakespeare uses various forms of imagery in the
famous To be, or not to be soliloquy in the third act to illustrate Hamlet s view on life
and death.
Shakespeare utilizes imagery to demonstrate Hamlet s state of mind. Hamlet shows
true concern whether suicide would be considered an honorable death or a sin. This

Hamlet s state of mind full of slough and wishing he could be deceased. To die, to
sleep/ No more, and by a sleep to say we end/ The heart ache and the thousand
natural shocks/ That flesh is heir to; tis a consummation/ Devoutly to be wish d.
To die, to sleep / To sleep, (III.ii.68 72). In this part of the soliloquy Hamlet s views
of a wonderful death through the word consummation are displayed. That basically
shows Hamlet s competition to life because he views death with satisfying
imagery. He is relating death to a happy marriage. The use of repetition of to die, to
sleep, throughout this soliloquy shows Hamlets desire for death. To say we end
/ The heart ache and the thousand natural shocks/ That flesh is heir to, clearly
shows that Hamlet is struggling with his indecisiveness through violent physical
imagery. For who would bear the whips and scorns of time. (III.i.77) Shakespeare s

Social Movements Of Canada And Ghana
Social movements are everywhere. However, the transformation and publicity this
particular movement has received is admirable. During the Summer of 2015, BLM
publicly challenged politicians, including those in the 2016 U.S presidential
elections. A drawback of the movement is that it is decentralized and does not have
the funds or people with enough power to enforce a formal structure and hierarchy
within its network. One successful method the protestors employed to have their
voices heard is the staged demonstrations at numerous malls across the United
States on Black Friday, which is undeniably, a wisely chosen date to reach and
spread such messages in public to as many people as possible. Besides the U.S,
there are several BLM chapters in Canada and Ghana. The movement has also
expanded beyond street protests, such as college campuses who have taken part
including the University of Missouri protestin 2015. The simple hashtag is a
significant way to reach thousands of people efficiently and rapidly, however, the
movement has comprised a variety of tactics to have their voices heard. Not only
have they held marches and rallies, they have formed die ins also known as lie ins ,
which is a form of protest where protestors feign being dead. Furthermore, they use
several powerful slogans such as White silence is violence , Is my son next? and
Hands up, don t shoot . The most notable protests and demonstrations is without
doubt, the 2016 Presidential elections, the

Pros And Cons Of Texas Plural Executive
There are many different opinions on how much power the governor of Texas
should have than other states. Some people debate on whether Texas government
should have a singular executive instead of plural executive. There are pros and
cons of having a plural executive model and at times they believe that it can be more
democratic than the single executive model. The governor s power is debated about
whether or not they have not enough or too much power with governing the state of
Texas. The executive branch of Texas is like the federal government meaning that
the governor is like the president because he is also the commander in chief of the
military forces which is the police officers, the National Guard units, and the
department of public safety. They also have the power to elect judges to fill in spots

It could make it harder for them to work together because they could have different
political ideas. Which make it hard for the governor to carry out plans. Also, when
the officials that are elected by the voters and at times people have little knowledge
about the person they are voting for. The person that they voted for could be
unsuitable or even unqualified candidates to do the job. A singular executive model
is when the governor and lieutenant governor are elected together, and that is why it
is easier for them to work together. There are people that think that the Texas
government should have a singular executive model instead of a plural executive
model. They believe in this because the current model we are using, they do not
work together as others do like a cabinet does in the executive officials do for the
President for the United States. But it also creates a powerful executive officer and
that would be the lieutenant governor in the state legislator besides the

It was even harder, as I was in the United States and had no one to support. Therefore, I planned to give up, leave a wonderful clinical opportunity, prepone my flight and go back! Which I did, except for going back! While riding in the subway for airport, I witnessed an incident of seizures in 7 to 8 years old boy, which refreshed my objectives. My path to medicine started as a result of suffering of one of my close friend, when there was no one there to understand reason of his silence. Nonetheless, topic of sexual harassment and victimization is a taboo in the underserved areas of developing countries. Medicine in my life has never been for me medicine in my life is a commitment that I made to myself 21 years ago for alleviating the suffering of others thus anything that exclusively does not belong to, I cannot give up! Determination is when you have the character persevere even when there are difficult times and some problems happen in the way. Mr. Frank was resolute and firm about his decision to hide his family, Mr. Dussel, and the Van Daans in the Secret Annex. Karl s mom had the willpower and strength to get away from the two soldiers by scratching at one of them so hard, blood started coming down their face to get a quick moment with her son before she is sent away. Gerda Weissmann had the power and resolve to be alive today, although before she thought it would be easier to jump in front of a train and die. It would depend on for everyone if they were in harsh conditions, whether the setting brings out the worst or best in people, determination definitely being one of them. The Diary of Anne Frank by Francis Goodrich and Albert Hackett, Emil and Karl by Yankev Glatshteyn, and One Survivor Remembers by Kory Antholis all show determination and persistence in their own way. • 25. Jean Piaget s Four Stages Of Cognitive Development Jean Piaget was a psychologist who spent numerous years studying children and writing on their development. Psychology played a major role in understanding the development of intelligence in children. Piaget s methods for doing accurate research required meticulous observations then he reported on what was observed. He started out making observations using his own three children as they engaged in several different tasks, then moved to other children and young adults. After concluding very extensive research he created a detailed stage theory of development known as Piaget s 4 stages of cognitive development . The first stage is known as The Sensorimotor Stage , these are children from birth to 2 years of age. Babies use movements and sensations to discover the world around them, they only know basic actions such as sucking, grasping, looking and listening. Throughout this stage they understand their movements can cause things to occur. During this stage the foundations of language development is laid. The Preoperational Stage is the next stage of Piaget s cognitive development, these are children from 2 to 7 years of age. During this stage children begin to think symbolically; they are getting better with language and thinking. Children in this stage typically still see things only from their own perspective, not others. The development of language is how someone can determine if a child has entered the preoperational stage. Children become experienced at pretend play, but still struggle with logic and reasoning. Third stage of Piaget s cognitive development is The Concreate Operational Stage , these are children from 7 to 11 years old. Children at this stage can think rationally about real events. They can have an understandable conversation because their logic is more organized. During this stage self centeredness begins to disappear because children are better at using logic and thinking about others. Children also understand that not everybody thinks the same way they do, everyone has their own thoughts, feelings and opinions. The last stage in Piaget s cognitive development is The Formal Operational Stage , these are children 12 and up. Children are considered adolescent or young adult and

It includes in the text that Miller is known for being talkative and concerning of his patients so this is pleasing and maybe letters of recommendation from his previous employers (where he was an associate) will be considered by the loan officer. • 30. The s Theory Of Human Behavior, Emotion, And Thought Relationships exist in every possible corner of humanity. The adage regarding strength in numbers is a relevant point to deliberate when discussing the benefits and deficits of belongingness. The belongingness hypothesis states that people have a basic psychological need to feel closely connected to others, and that caring, affectionate bonds from close relationships are a major part of human behavior (Selterman, 2014). People are driven to form and keep positive and significant relationships with others who reciprocate concern and care. The need to belong motivates human behavior, emotion and thought. Whether looking from a theological perspective, But you belong to God... (John 4:4, English Standard Version) or an evolutionary view of cell mutations and adaptations, it is inarguable that successful procreation ensures the survivability of mankind. In this act of procreation lies the very reason it is a human necessity to have relationships and seek a level of belonging. Normal and healthy development depends on the associations we form and the existence of humanity is proof of the innateness of belonging. There is abundant evidence that social bonds form easily. Indeed, people in every society on earth belong to small primary groups that involve face to face, personal interactions (Baumeister, 1995). Whether the relationship is romantic, filial, sibling oriented, friendly, or based on a need to survive is of little consequence in this dialog. It is quintessential

The United States, in the 1800s, adopted cotton as its leading export and it was one of the world s largest suppliers of the plant. Cotton allowed for the United States economy to drastically boom, for most of the world s supply of cotton came from the American Southern soil. The cotton industry, powered by the extensive and tedious labor of the African American slaves, generated enormous sums of money for the United States. In many respects, cotton s financial and political influence in the 19th century can be compared to that of the oil industry in the early 21st century (Dattel, Web). Although it was considered a cash crop, cotton was also a nebulous form on destruction that unknowingly influenced the country to turn to Civil War. It influenced the country in three major ways: the South to rely on cotton plantations for its profits, to stand by slavery and its benefits, and to secede from the Union. Cotton became King in the South in the 18th century. Being the largest exporter of this benevolent cash crop, it truly ameliorated the country s economy and financial status. Cotton was indeed the South s economic backbone (Dattel, Web). It supplied over 75% of the world s cotton need and gave the country about $200 million a year in profit. Later on, the southern states who decided to secede from the Union to form the Confederate States of America in 1861, used cotton to provide revenue for its government, arms and

Another point in this discussion is to compare what I believe to be the differences between, and just as importantly, the opposite direction that the two groups are traveling in. I think that due to extremes in modern day conservative and liberal views, that this nation in on a self destruct path. The envelopes of EBOV and MARV are composed of glycoproteins (GP). GP are essential for the entry of the viruses into the host cell by attaching to its cell surface (10). GP is a homotrimer of GP1 (membrane protein) GP2 (transmembrane protein) heterodimer linked by disulfide bonds (11 12). The mechanism on how GP1 and GP2 drive the introduction of the virus into the host cell is not well understood yet (7). However, it is known that is characterized by three steps: attachment, uptake, and membrane fusion (7). GP1 is involved in adhesion of the receptor with the host cell surface, whereas GP2 is involved in the virus host cell membrane fusion and entry (13). In most cases GP1 is believed to bind to different glycosaminoglycans (GAG) from the host cell i.e. heparin sulfate, to be able to efficiently enter the host cell (2). GAGs are negative, unbranched polysaccharides found in mostly all cells surfaces but differ in composition between species (4). It is believed that GAGs are not the only possible way of attachment for filoviruses to the host surface, meaning that there are other host factors that aid in viral entry (2). After attachment, virions get into the host cell through micropinocytosis followed by endosome trafficking which leads to membrane fusion (7). A low pH due to the endosomal events is what leads to the initiation of membrane fusion (7). G protein coupled receptors (GPCR) are the biggest and most diverse family of protein in

Total Ownership Costs Total ownership costs Introduction Total ownership cost is a financial estimate whose function is to assist customers as well as organization managers to determine both direct and indirect costs of a system or product (Contract management. 2006). Total ownership costs, as a management accounting concept it is applicable in the full cost accounting. In addition, it is applicable in ecological economics where in includes social costs among other costs. When it comes to manufacturing, total ownership costs goes beyond the initial production cycle time as well as costs to make parts. Total ownership costs include various costs of doing business items such as opportunity costs, ship and re ship. Moreover, it considers incentives and other variables developed for alternative approaches such as tax credit, expedited delivery, supplier visits and common language among others. Total ownership costs usually provide cost basis, which helps in determining the total economic value of a certain investment. Examples include economic value added, rapid economic justification, return on investment and internal rate of return. Analysis of the total cost of ownership includes operating costs as well as total costs of acquisition (Contract management. 2006). It has brought significant changes to service retailers as it has changed the way that how firms provide services to customers and how customers interact with firm. It enables customers perform entire services by themselves without direct assistance from employees and makes servicetransactions become more accurate and convenient. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, regarding the use of SSTs in airline service, passengers can check in at airport by using the check in kiosks themselves instead of lining up in front of the service counter to check in. According to SITA s Airline IT Trends Survey п¬Ѓndings (SITA, 2009), it forecasts that the use of agent service for check in will be dropped almost 30% and use of self service check in kiosks will be increased almost 8% by 2012. It shows that there is a trend that passengers are more likely to use the SSTs to serve them by their own and the use of agent services will be decreased. So the airline companies can hire fewer crews for providing the agent services and it would then reduce the cost of training their employees for performing the agent services. According to Forrester Research (Jones, 2004), self service check in costs an airline 16 cents per passenger as opposed to $3.68 per passenger by means of an airline agent. Thus, it means that a company which has employed SSTs may lower their cost as the cost of employing SSTs is much lower than the rising labor cost. Another benefit of employing SSTs to service retailers is that it may gain a competitive advantage over competitors. Delivery of high service quality is a primary source of competitive advantage for service providers. As co production through SSTs has become more popular

A normal process of aging is that vision decreases, but it is more than just not seeing well. Receptors in the eye do not function as well impairing light entering the eye. Naturally occurring problems such as cataracts and glaucoma only worsen these symptoms. In an article written by Betsy Brawley and Mark Taylor titled, Designing for Senior Care Environments, they state that because of this, Approximately 90 percent of all information most of us learn in a lifetime comes through our eyes. Normal age related changes disrupt our capacity to see. (Brawley). Due to the decrease in visual awareness seniors can experience significant repercussions on their psychological. Routines and common tasks become difficult making even simple tasks frustrating at times. Losing self independence can begin a dangerous path to depression and feelings of helplessness. As people age they do not see the world in the same shades of color. Most seniors see with a tint of yellow due to hardening of the lens around the eye.
