Hmong Culture Research Paper
The Hmong Culture is very interesting. Approximately 25,000 Hmong reside in
Fresno, California. In the Hmong culture the men must pay a price for their wives.
Usually the price for a bride often ranges from $3,000 to $10,000. Traditionally, the
groom s side of the family must go to the bride s home and ask her parents for
permission to be wed. After both sides reach an agreement, then the next day a
feast is held to celebrate their engagement. On the day of the wedding the bride
wore Hmong clothing to walk out of her parent s house to the groom s home. The
wedding took place at the bride s parents house where the ceremony began. During
the ceremony, the bride wore a long blouse decorated with batik flowers over short

A Serious Problem Of Testicular Cancer
A serious problem that exists among the Maori population in some areas of N.Z. is
testicular (teste) cancer. It affects young men from all backgrounds and there is little
research on what risk factors there are. The encyclopaedia Britannica online defines
teste cancer as a disease characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells within the
testis, the reproductive organ that produces sperm. Testicular cancerrepresents only 1
percent of all cancers in males, but it is the most common malignancy for men
between ages 15 and 35. 1 Whether or not teste cancer is the most serious health
problem among Maori arguable and additional health related problems should be
discussed. First of all, testicular cancer is one of the most crippling diseases creating
significant damage on patient and family. Additionally, the discrepancy between
Maori and Pakeha diagnosis of testicular cancer is a cause for concern. Contrariwise
a lack of knowledge on the difference between Maori and Pakeha psychology and the
way Psychologist/Psychiatrist deal with Maori patients. Finally, there is general
reluctance for Maori to seek mental healthwhich leads to difference between diagnosis
and treatment.
Firstly, the mental and physical anguish that surrounds testicular cancer is so
significant because it is the most common cancer affecting men between the ages of
15 and 39, but it is not limited to this age range. However, young men typically do
not get a lot of cancer, so overall testicular cancer is a
Rim s Research In Motion
Research in Motion (RIM) is known as a multinational telecommunications
establishment which is responsible for designing, manufacturing and marketing the
wireless solution for the telecommunication and mobile markets, especially its
Blackberry lines. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) RIM was first founded and
owned by Mike Lazaridis in 1985 and Jim Balsillie had joined the company as a co
chief executive later in 1992. The company was seriously affected by the launch of
iPhone in 2007. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) The market share of Blackberryhas
been dropped from 20% to 5%. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) In 2011, RIM s
stock price significantly dropped by 75 %, following with the launches of a
collective of lukewarm products, and declines in share. Following the resignation of
many shareholders, the two founders, Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, then have
been replaced and RIM has been taken over by Thorsten Heins. (Burr, Rothaermel,
Urbina, 2013) According to Heins, the current issues that RIM is facing have nothing
to deal with the original strategic plan, and it is all about marketing and
communication. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) Also, to prove for his points,
Heins has emphasized on the significant improvements at RIM which is debt free and
holding $2.9 billion cash on hand. (Burr, Rothaermel, Urbina, 2013) Heins has
predicted the big turnaround for RIM will happen at the moment that the Blackberry
10 launches into the market. (Burr,
Youtube Persuasive Speech
Have you ever wanted to reveal yourself to the world ? Have you ever wanted the rest
of the world to see what you look like? How do you speak? How do you think?
Maybe you would like people out there to know what your opinion is, regarding a
certain topic. Or perhaps you wish to inform people about something. But you would
like to do all of this as if you re directly speaking to someone. Some of you may want
even more. You may want to feel like a movie or Tv star, or just to feel famous! Well,
believe it or not, a lot of ordinary people have done this for awhile on a wonderful
little website online. It s called YouTube.
Creating your own video and uploading it onto YouTube is a lot easier than you

You re on your way to making videos!
Step 2 Buying a Webcam
What is a webcam? It s a nifty little device that lets you record yourself . You can
use a webcam to communicate with other people online in real time as if you re
talking to someone face to face. Whoever you re speaking to, will see what you look
like.
But webcams can also record videos which you can then store onto your computer.
Furthermore, webcams are great for a better video, because you can put your
webcam right on top of your computer monitor, and record your video while you sit
down comfortably. This will allow you to present a less shaky and more stable video.
Of course, once again, you can take videos with a smartphone or a video camcorder,
and for some types of videos, it could be useful, such as recording a video of a child s
birthday party. But again, unless you have a very sturdy camcorder, your video
may be shaky and it may move all over the place if you record it from a smartphone
or an ineffective camcorder. And again, you may have issues with background noise
if you re in a noisy environment.
At least with a webcam, You won t need to worry about a shaky camera, and your
message should be clear. Additionally, webcams are usually
Mexico s New Spain Summary
In the year 1500, Spain conquered Mexico and named it New Spain. Life was very
hard under Spanish rule and so many of the native Mexicans mostly (Mayas and
Aztecs) were forced into hardship and slavery. More than 300 years later, on
September 16, 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a renown Catholic priest,
launches the Mexican War of Independence with the his issuing of the Grito de
Dolores, or Cry of Dolores . In the early times of September 16, 1810, father Hidalgo,
followed by several conspirators, Ignacio Allende, DoГ±a Josefa Ortiz de

This was the beginning of the Independence War, which had lasted for around 10

Imagery in The Road Not Taken Essay
In Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken , Frost shows the everyday human struggle
to make a choice that could change the course of one s life. In his poem, a person
has the choice to take one road or the other. One road is worn out from many
people taking it, and the other is barely touched, for fewer have taken that road.
Throughout the poem, the speaker learns that just because so many other people
have done one thing, or walked one way, does not mean everyone has to.
Sometimes you just have to go your own way. In the poem, a person is walking
along a path in an autumn forest in the early hours of the morning, when he stumbles
upon a fork in the road. The speaker wishes that he would be able to travel down
both of them, but he has places... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many key aspects to this poem. The speaker, or the person who is
experiencing the events in the poem, is a traveler walking through the woods.
There is no specific occasion, although the poem does mention that the speaker did
not have enough time to travel both roads on that one day. The setting of the poem
in time is told in the line Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, (1), it tells us that
the setting is autumn, because the leaves are changing, and have turned yellow.
The setting in place is a forest, although it Frost does not specify where the forest
is. In this poem, I believe the theme is that you have to jump at an opportunity
when you get it, or you may never get that opportunity again. Moving on to the
tone of the poem, I believe that it is wistful, and that the speaker might be looking
back on his days, and realizing that he taking the other road might have made all of
the difference in his life. There is very good diction in this poem, as some words
express Frost s feeling more than other s would ve. For example, in the line Two
roads diverged in a yellow wood, (1), Frost really emphasizes the two roads
separating from each other. In another line In leaves no step had trodden black (12),
trodden is a more appropriate than another word such as crushed or pulverized,
because it is the past form of trod, or to step in something, and gives an image of
human feet stepping on the freshly fallen leaves. In the poem, many instances

PROBABLE CAUSE OF THE BHOPAL INDUSTRIAL DISASTER OF 1984
EDWARD HICKMAN
INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE AND TOXICOLOGY
EMBRY RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY
ABSTRACT
On December 3, 1984 a gas leak occurred at a facility in Bhopal India, owned and
operated by Union Carbide India Limited that killed an estimated 3,500 people,
although some speculate the death toll was closer to 8,000. To this day, the residual
effects of the toxic chemicals that were poured on the ground and buried by Union
Carbide workers at the Bhopal site continue to make people sick. Heavily
contaminated soils and groundwater have poisoned an estimated 200,000 people
with chronic exposure since the gas leak occurred and long after the plant was shut
down. Union Carbide claimed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The pipe was not sealed and a faulty valve allowed the water to mix with the gas
causing a chemical reaction which heated the tank up tremendously. According to
Cameochemicals.noaa, MIC gas is Highly Flammable, is Polymerizable, and most
importantly in this case, Water Reactive (Cameochemicals). When workers poured
more water over the pipes to try and cool them this undoubtedly increased the
volatility of the reaction that was taking place. Methyl Isocyanate readily undergoes
violent chemical changes at elevated temperatures and pressures (Cameochemicals).
This theory could be where the company s saboteur claim comes from, due to the
premise that water was added intentionally, Even though it may have been a desperate
attempt to prevent the tank from bursting under pressure. In the confusion and chaos
surrounding the days following the leak it is impossible to determine whether the site
was tampered with or altered to throw off an investigation of the gas leak. Although
the cause of the worst industrial accident in history may never be clearly known,
there is no mistaking Union Carbide s total disregard for the safety and health of the
people of Bhopal. Studies of the ground water near the chemical plant confirm that

Is Excessive Force in Police Brutality Related to Race Essays
The perception of excessive force has been fiercely debated for the last two to three
decades. With continuous civil disobedience, increasing cases of police brutality are
growing at an exponential rate. Often cases of police brutality are brought to our
attention through public media showcasing very disturbing and sometimes unlawful
situations. Some may say that prejudice toward certain ethnicities may be the root
cause of this recent influx. However, some may say that resulting social inequalities
towards certain ethnicities may bring about frustration thus causing police officers to
use more force more often. This then pops up to this preliminary question, Is
excessive force in police brutalityracerelated? My personal beliefs lead me... Show

If you remember correctly that Rodney King was pulled over by the police after a
long reckless chase pursuit. After being stopped he was disruptive and was beaten
severely which many believed to be rather excessive. After viewing the video of
this particular incident I found it to be rather excessive, but in the interest of
public protection. According to the book Official Negligence (p.42), Mr. King
was a prior convicted felon of second degree robbery. He was sentenced to two
years in a federal institution and released after six months of service for good
behavior. I m not sure if the cops knew that Mr. King was a prior convicted felon,
but precautions must be taken in order to in sue the safety of the officers and of the
public.
According to the book Black Voices: An Anthology of African American literature
(p.125), there are many where cops who are charged in police brutality cases using
standard textbook procedures just because the case involves a person of ethnicity.
Essentially the person of ethnicity claims he was excessively mistreated by a cop
when he was not. This situation is often abused, and is something that I strongly
disapprove of and should stop. The more this situation occurs, the harder it makes for
people to understand the startling differences between a racially motivated assault
and one that is not. The end result is more racial outrage towards police officers
which produces more supposed police brutality cases.

The Conflict Diamonds Of Sierra Leone
The conflict diamonds started to be present and problematic in Sierra Leone as soon
as DeBeers mining company took control of all diamond prospects throughout this
region. Although DeBeers was keeping a moderate watch on the trading and actions
being taken through it, traders from Lebanon (bordered by Syria and Israel to the
south) were able to easily smuggle and mine diamonds out through the company.
Later towards the 1950s, countries, such as Sierra Leone, had to give up the chance
of regulating the illicit diamondindustry, thus having to warn owners of the mines
to provide their own security measures for the mines and land they owned. The
issue wasn t justly political or economic until Sierra Leone gained its independence
in 1961, letting Siaka Stevens enroll as Prime minister, therefore having a one
party ruler. Stevens took control, and monopolized the diamond mines, as well as
encouraging them to gain power and fame nationwide. Things were looking austere
for diamond control rights and regulations, not only to watch a civil war emerge,
surging through the country as fire fought fire and brother fought against brother.
As the war extended from 1991 to 1999, it brought forth other problems as a result
of citizen on citizen warfare for the diamonds such as rape, murder, and sex slaves.
Once 75,000 lives were claimed, the people of Sierra Leone finally realized that
victims and executors of these terrible crimes has emerged from the cash crop known
as diamonds.

that away by making sure they are fed and well nourished. At noon Nusrat feeds

the teacher fills their baskets with Persimmons from the tree, freshly baked naan,

The way how the scenes of the movie looks in the eyes of the director, he wanted
his viewers to see how life was back in the 1960s. Kathryn Stockett vision of the
story is to show racism at its finest. Tate Taylor has to figure out how to make the
movie seems like the viewers are looking at the movie ask if they are reading the

the type of music most people will hear from the 1960s. A few artists that is
mentioned in the soundtracks are Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, and Mary J Blige.
The performance of the movie was outstanding. The thought of having Emma
Stone being the protagonist is a film, is a great fit for this type of character in the
movie. I believe that Emma Stone have certain way of showing a leadership role a
multiple of films that she starred in. Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer did a
magnificent job playing as the role off the two maids. Both of these women have
probably experienced some sorts of racism in the lives, and can relate well to the
movie. Stone, Davis, Spencer have read The Help before, so playing the role of
Skeeter and the two maids was easy for them to get into, because of reasons this

true nature always overpowers the desire to do something that is wise and rightful.
This struggle is due to the urge and fight of his or her instinct. Temptation is filled

motivation of temptation in his fable The Drunkard it was a well written short storyby

What strategic alliances (including suppliers and market channels) has Xiaomi
established in China? What role do strategic alliances play in Xiaomi s
international expansion? Xiao Mi came up with a very well thought plan of a vast
wide array of suppliers and market channels. China was a retail dominated mobile
device market. Any mobile phone manufacturer could choose whether or not to get
a space in retail store and sell phones to the public. Xiaomi had decided to use
online selling as their primary means of distibution on the purpose of lowering
sales costs and its products prices which proved to be a success in its domestic
market(China). They established partnerships with different suppliers that enabled
them to cut cost and also opened the door for a wide array of developing products
which is more commonly called the internet of things, their goal is to have different
household devices to be controlled by their brand of smartphone. For their market
channels, it is so interesting that they relied more on word of mouth which led their
marketing only 3% of their budget. Strategic alliances played a big part in Xiaomi s
plan for expansion it enabled them to lower their cost particularly in India and they
were also able to establish some relationship even though they have some challenges
they were able to go past through it and establish themselves in the local
Last Night By Sharon Olds Summary
In the poem Last Night by Sharon Olds, the essence of the poem was greatly
enhanced through the wistful delivery of the speaker and the present tone of lust and
desire. This was obtained through the successful pronunciation of words and the
various use of literary devices such as metaphors and similes, in addition to the
steamy atmospherethat the erotic tone of this poem brings. The profound languages
used helps the reader develop an idea of what the context is and the main idea that
revolves around the sentences or words. In the where it begins with Love? it shows
the uncertainty of an individual who s confused and possesses unanswered questions.
When the speaker emphasizes the question mark at the end of the word, it genuinely
separates the idea of a general question and one that is searching for answers. The
goal of the language used in the poem will not be achieved without the speaker
acting on it verbally. Words are empty without emotions and therefore the speaker
plays an important role that enforces meaning and structure onto what is being said.
Another important factor would be the speaker s attitude. How the speaker
approaches the poem gives away the main idea, the concept and even the identity of
the person behind these words. For example, if the speaker proceeds through the
poem with a very positive attitude, it sets a different atmosphere than the one that
would be if it was approached negatively. In this case, the speaker continues with the

Secured vs Unsecured Lines of Credit There are 2 types: secured (attached to
collateral or an asset such as a home) and unsecured (which is a stand alone
account). Secured Lines of Credit usually have lower interest rates (typically Bank
Prime plus 1% depending on the FI). However, if you miss a mortgage payment
and/or a Line of Credit Payment, both accounts get effected and thus, it hurts your
credit score. Basically you are using the available equity (the value of your home
vs home much of your mortgage you have paid down) on your home to secure it.
Unsecured Lines of Credit are usually higher in interest and financial institutions
determine what the rate will be: Bank Prime plus something . For example, bank
prime might be 3% (when the federal rates are 1% usually in a low performing
economy). The Plus something would depend on your credit rating (which you
would find out once you do the credit check). What is the lowest or highest limit
allowed when applying for a LOC? It depends on the financial institution. Some
institutions have a minimum limit of $10,000 for LOCs, where CCs could be as
low as $500 depending on the CC type and at the discretion of the FI. The highest
limit again is at the discretion of the bank and how much they consider you as a
credit risk . Some FIs allow for a $40,000 to $50,000 maximum limit. Credit Cards vs
Lines of Credit Lines of Credit are more similar to loans. Having said that, both CCs
and LOCs are similar

which they live in. The polar bear and the anglerfish have characteristics to match
each habitat they live in. The polar bear lives where the air, ice, and air intersect.
They live most of their lives on sea ice. Where, the temperature an drop as low as 50

their enormous stomachs allow them to eat prey up to twice their size. One of
their great adaptation qulaities is being able to eat large quanitites at once. There
are 200 known species of the anglerfish. There are probably more than that because
they inhabit great depths in the oceans where humans and their research seldom
venture. Since they inhabit great depths the sunlight can not reach them, which
means no light. The deep living anglerfish have a certain type of bateria that
produces light and glows on the dark. This is called bioluminesence.
Bioluminesese is great for adaptation to their extreme enviornment. Believe it or
not, the male anglerfish looks like a total different species! They are ten times
smaller than the female anglerfish. Scientists at first were noticing that fisherman
were only catching female anglerfish. Something they did notice was that there
were small growths on the side of the female anglerfish. Which turned out to be a
male anglerfish! What it is that when the two mate, the males digestive system
weakens and it s making it impossible to eat on his own. As a result, the male bites
into her belly and then his mouth fuses to the female body. In conclusion, he will

Page 4 CEO Gary Kelly and What Makes Southwest Airlines So Successful What
traits and skills does Kelly possess which make him an effective leader? There is a
very simple answer to this. Kelly is a down to earth person who never wanted to be
a CEO. He did not want the stress and headaches that went with the position. He
started out as a Controller and made his way to the top. He is an accountant,
musician, loves sports, and people. His wife Carol states that she s the more
talkative and outgoing of the two. But she laughs at her husband s suggestion that
he used to be a little shy. He s a born leader, she says. (Reed, 2004) Kelly himself
says, however, his leadership abilities are all learned. Being a leader is about
character ... being straightforward and honest, having integrity, and treating people
right, he says. Kelly can be a demanding boss. But he tries to be more nurturing
than neutering in his dealings with employees. (Reed, 2004) Denison says that
Kelly can be nurturing almost to a fault. But that, he adds, also is the secret to his
ability to get great performance from those who work for him. Gary won t give up
on people, Denison says. He will go to extraordinary lengths to help those having
trouble
Benefits Of Year-Round School
What are some things one can do in the summer time? Summer activities include
going to the beach, working a summer job and taking it easy. There shouldn t be
year round school because breaks are for both students and teachers, one could
spend more time with friends and family and one can be refreshed when school
starts next year. The summer break should stay the same because the break is for
both students and teachers. After a year of teaching, some teachers feel the need to
have a summer break to get away from their students. Some students are stressed
throughout the year that summer vacation is a time to unwind and take it easy.
When on summer vacation, one can spend time with friends and family. While one
summer vacation, one may choose to spend time with the people they cared about.
Some families travel in the summer and explore exotic vacation spots. Some places
one can vacation at are Disneyland, Universal Studios or just visiting relatives in
other states. When people are on summer break, they may feel refreshed to start

Sexual Rhetors In Response To The Tweeden Scandal
In 2006, Leeann Tweeden was a performer alongside Al Franken on a U.S.O tour
abroad. During transportation from one location to another, Ms. Tweeden fell
asleep, Mr. Franken took advantage of her sleeping state and took a picture with
his hands placed over her breasts. She was not made aware of the pictures
existence until she was back in America for quite some time. According to
Tweeden, Franken also forced himself on her while they were rehearsing. Tweeden
came forward after discussing her experience with Democrat Representative Jackie
Speier, a leading voice in ending sexual harassment on Capitol Hill. Sexual
misconduct among political leaders in our nation has long been a part of work life
on Capitol Hill (Fandos), especially in light of the prior conduct of our President, the
conversation surrounding this topic has never been more pressing. After examining
the rhetoricused by Al Franken and respective media groups in response to the
Tweeden Scandal, it can clearly be observed that the differing motivations of the
rhetors drastically shape the rhetoric produced even though the exigence and
audiences are the same.
Firstly, for rhetoric to be established, there must be something to which rhetors
respond. The event must be significant and present (for both the rhetor and audience),
so that the response envisioned by the rhetor can occur. The sexual misconduct of Al
Franken is both significant and present because it enters into the dialogue

Mommy Makeover Essay
A mommy makeover is a plastic surgery trend that helps to reverse the effect
pregnancy has on your body. After one pregnancy, some women naturally return to
their pre pregnancy figure, but many women don t especially after two or three
children. Breasts begin to lose volume and sag, the abdomen that is stretched during
pregnancybecomes loose and doesn t tighten even after rigorous exercise. Some fat
deposits are also very difficult to get rid of even with strict dieting and exercise. The
remedy for all of the above is a mommy makeover.
There are five main treatments included in a typical mommy makeover, including an
abdominoplasty or tummy tuck, breast enhancement or augmentation, liposuction to
remove fat, skin tightening and cellulite removal. During your consultation with our

A tummy tuck tightens the muscles in your abdomen and removes excess skin.
There are several levels of tummy tuck, including a full abdominoplasty, a belt
lipectomy, a small incision abdominoplasty and a reverse abdominoplasty. Our
specialist will help you choose the one that will give you the best results.
Breast augmentation may be a breast lift or breast implants. For some women, a
breast lift is all it takes to restore their breasts to their original position. It involves
raising the breast and repositioning the nipple. For other women, breast implants are
the best way to restore volume and make the breasts look younger and fuller.
Implants may be recommended to restore the original size and firmness or to make
the breasts a little larger than they were before pregnancy.
Liposuction can remove fat, but it does not treat loose or stretched skin that may be
left behind after the fat is removed. This is the main reason liposuction is typically
used along with a tummy tuck. The combination of these procedures is the most
effective way to make the abdomen and waist line tight and
Who Is Greit s Father Figure
When an object we desire becomes unavailable to us, we often search for a
replacement. It economics this is called a substitute good, in a relationship this is
called a rebound, and in Freudian terms, this is called displacement. In the movie,
girl with a pearl earring, Greit creates a chain of displacement, when she displaces
her fathers love onto Vermeer and then her attraction to Vermeer onto Pieter. The
initiating event in TGWTPE is the moment Greit s father goes blind due to a work
accident. Greit s father is a very important figure to her. Greit often carried around
a memoir of her father, a tile he had made specifically for her. As she leaves her home
to go and work for the Vermeer family, it appears that her fathers tile is her only...

Being of age often means that a girl is experiencing changes both physically and
mentally. Physically speaking she is growing more and filling out her shape as a
woman. Mentally speaking, Greit is experiencing sexual urges and frustrations.
Vermeer and Greit often engaged with eachother in sexually tense moments. The
most notable moments are when Vermeer and Greit just stare at eachother deeply,
not moving, challenging the other to make a move. There are many occasions
where they stare at each other intensely. When Greit is making paints for Vermeer
and he grabs her hands under his, moving them together, she stares directly at him,
unwavering. The physical contact, on top of the very suggestive movement of the
hands topped with the deep stares resonates sexual tension. When Greit is taking
off her hair wrap, letting her hair fall, to find Vermeer staring her down only to
stare at her back is an even stronger example. He s seen her hair in this scene, a
symbol of her sexuality, of her femininity, yet when she notices him staring she
doesn t rush to hide it, she stands there and stares back as if to ask, what now. They
both acknowledge and are aware of the tension. Biologically there is nothing holding
them back from each other however; the biggest hurdle of their relationship is social
status. Vermeer is not only a married man, but on a different social level than Greit.

Essay on Aseptic Technique Culturing Microbes
Aseptic Technique Culturing Microbes Questions A. What is the difference between
a bactericidal and bacteriostatic agent? What is the difference between sterilization
and disinfection? Control of growth refers to the prevention of growth of
microorganisms. This control is affected in two basic ways: by killing
microorganisms or by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. Control of growth
usually involves the use of physical or chemical agents which either kill or prevent
the growth of microorganisms. Agents that kill cells are called cidal agents; agents

The goals of aseptic technique are to protect the patient from infection and to
prevent the spread of pathogens. Often, practices that clean (remove dirt and other
impurities), sanitize (reduce the number of microorganisms to safe levels), or
disinfect (remove most microorganisms but not highly resistant ones) are not
sufficient to prevent infection. E. Describe three common forms of growth that
you are likely to see in a broth culture. Pellicle mass of organisms floating in or on

Sediment mass of organisms appears as a deposit at the bottom of tube F.What is
the difference between an aerobe and an anaerobe? Aerobes are organisms that grow
only in the presence of oxygen. They obtain energy from aerobic respiration.
Anaerobes are organisms that grow only without oxygen; oxygen inhibits or kills
them. They obtain energy from anaerobic respiration or fermentation. G. Describe the
difference between facultative and obligate. Obligate means by necessity . For
example an Obligate aerobe is an organism that cannot survive without oxygen, and
an Obligate anaerobe, an organism that cannot survive in the presence of oxygen.
Facultative means optional or discretionary . For example, a Facultative anaerobe, is
an organism that can use oxygen but also has anaerobic methods of energy
production. It can survive in either
The Ethics Of A Vegan Diet
The first things that come to a person mind when they hear the word, vegan , are
usually protest for animal rights, salads, and a lack of protein, but the question is
does he/she really know what being a vegan is all about? Veganism is the practice of
abstaining away from the use of any product that uses animals, commonly associated
with the cruel treatment of animals and make up thirty one percent of the population
worldwide. An ethical vegan is a form of veganismwere a person does not use any
product that has been tested on an animal or is made from an animal. A dietary
vegan is a form of veganism were a person does not consume any product made
from, by, or out of an animal. Many people believe that veganism is unnecessary
because not all animal are treated bad or :it s to hard, or it s bad for the body.
Although some people believe that, realistically, a vegan diet comes with an abound
of benefits for animals, the body and the environment.
To begin, a vegan diet is a way to end animal cruelty in factories and farms. Animal
cruelty begins in giant indoor farms that keep animal confined to cages and barely
have any sunlight, known as animal factories, so that countries can meet the demand
for meat, cheeses and other products. Two thirds of the animal population, which
include chickens, turkey, cow, pigs and other commonly eaten animals, live in these
factories but the animals are not in healthy environment at all. The animals live there

It was finally time that architecture now mastering the interior of buildings and

The first two periods of time that this shift was made was the Romanesque style
and the Gothic style of architecture. Both of these styles have made great
contributions that can still been seen in today s architecture. With Romanesque
being the first stylistic period in time with Gothic immediately following it there is
much to be said about the similarities and differences. The Romanesque period of
architecture has its roots deep into western civilization. Even though it is said that
the Romanesque style of architecture was first since and applied around 1000 AD
its history goes back almost 500 years. During the rule of the Roman Empire much
of Europe was influenced by the Roman and Greek classical styles, it wasn t until
the Roman Empire fell that most of Europe was able to diverge from traditional
styles and form their own styles. It was only with time and separation that other styles
were able to grow. With the Roman Empire gone Europe was breaking apart and
developing in small pockets on it own, this caused for greater advancements in many
areas such as architecture. Yet with all the growing change there was still one thing
that linked much of Europe together, that was the Christian church and Christianity.
That is why much of the advancements of architecture can be seen in churches,
temples and other religious
History of Afghanistan and Pakistan
Analysis
Historically Afghanistan and Pakistan have had a good relationship. During the
1980s, Afghan refugees used the Durand Line border to flee the soviet takeover of
their country. With funds aid from the United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees Pakistan hosted over 3 million Afghans at various refugee camps. In 1999,
the United States gave $70 million in assistance to Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
Pakistan also became the major training ground for the Mujahideen rebel fighters who
fought against the Soviet backed Afghan government and the invading Soviet forces.
The Mujahedeen included not only locals but also Arabs and others from over 40
different Islamic nations. A religious extremist group known as the Taliban took
control of Afghanistan s government after the soviet withdrawal and established
friendly relations with neighboring Pakistan. Pakistan used the Taliban to attack
Indian interests in Afghanistan, however after the overthrow of the Taliban in late
2001 by the United States and allies, Afghan Pakistani relations became strained.
India views Afghanistan as a means of access to Central Asian trade and energy
resources, as well as a means of advancing its own broader domestic and regional
interest. Central Asia is one of the fastest growing markets in the world; and
economic activity in the region has had steady growth , expanding at about 6 percent
per year(imf,2014). Growth in the Central Asian region has mainly been driven by
strong domestic demand, oil,

Understanding The Limitations Of A Person With Mcardle

In 2005, my husband was forced to retire from a job at Georgia Pacific. This was a
job that he had been working at for thirty three years. The muscles in his arms were
tearing for no reason that we knew of and he was having some other health
problems. It was very upsetting to both of us not knowing the outcome about his
health and now no income as well. We had seen many doctors on many different
occasions. We kept hitting a dead end. Finally, we were able to see a new doctor, a
neurologist, and after examining my husband, he immediately said to my husband,
you have McArdle s disease. It was a term that I was not familiar with at all. My
heart dropped and I was not sure what we were up against. Understanding the
limitations of a person with McArdle s disease is the best way to live with it.
What is McArdle s disease? It is a rare skeletal muscle disorder (Choleva, A.J. 2011).
1 in 100,000 persons is affected by the disease. The disease gets its name from Dr.
Brian McArdle. McArdle s disease is caused by a missing enzyme, myophosphorylase
C. This breaks down glycogen (which is the body form of stored energy) into glucose
(sugar).
People who have McArdle s disease often appear lazy. Just to look at them, they
seem to be very healthy. In order for someone to have the disease both parents
would have to have the defective gene. This is called autosomal recessive

Uses And Methods Of A Magnetic State Reaction
Gadolinium (Gd) doped antiperovskite compounds Mn3Cu1 xGdxN were synthesized
by the conventional solid state reaction. With increasing Gd concentration, two
magnetic transitions appeared, at a high Curie temperature (TC1) corresponding to
paramagnetic (PM) ferromagnetic (FM) transition and a low temperature (TC2)
ascribed to the FM antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition. The magnetic relaxation
results show the formation of a magnetic metastable state after the FM AFM
transition at low temperature(lower than TC2), forming a novel magnetic step feature
in the process from AFM to FM under a certain magnetic field.

However, besides conventional transition metal (TM) atoms, utilizing the rare earth
atoms with 4f electrons to replace Cu has not yet been achieved and may introduce
new magnetic couplings such as the f d and f f f couplings. These new exchange
interactions may induce novel physical features in the antiperovskite structures. Thus,
a systematical investigation on the physical properties of rare earth elements doped
Mn3AN is required and may also benefit us in further understanding their intrinsic
physical properties and designing a new type of the device based on the
antiperovskite compounds.
In this study, Gd with a high TC of 289 K was selected to replace Cu, and a series
of Mn3Cu1 xGdxN (x = 0.15, 0.17, 0.19, and 0.25) were synthesized. Both the
structural and magnetic properties measurement showed that with increasing Gd
content, a typical FM PM transition appeared and gradually shifted towards high
temperature. Simultaneously, a FM AFM transition accompanied by a crystal
transition from cubic to tetragonal was observed and moves to low temperature with
increasing Gd content. With x in the range from 0.17 to 0.19, a typical magnetization
step characteristic was observed at 50 K owing to the magnetic phase separation.

The Ethics Of Christopher Roller
Christopher Roller is God and therefore he has godly powers, or so he thinks. In
June of 2005, Christopher Roller, a resident of Minnesota, sued two magicians
(David Blaine and David Copperfield) for defying the laws of physics and using
Godly powers. He claims that he is God and so, therefore, they are stealing his
powers. He demanded that the magicians show their secret tricks to him and give
him 10% of their total income for life. Wow, now that is so ridiculous that it s
funny. This is one of the many examples of frivolous lawsuits that we see today in
our society. Our courts of law have been littered continuously with cases like this.
The justice system is being abused; our taxpayer money is being flushed down the
toilet with these lawsuits. In 2006, the WESH news group reported that Since 2004,
at least 336 lawsuits have been filed against local governments, costing taxpayers
more than $16 million . Much can be done with 16 million in local places. But that
doesn t happen. First of all, we spend our precious money on ludicrous suits.
Secondly, these lawsuits affect our society, and they clutter our court system. Third of
all, people take the rights that we have in our nation and abuse them to the maximum.
In America, we have so many freedoms, more than many in other countries. Our
justice system is one of the greatest advantages to the people because everyone is
equal under it. In the court, everybody, no matter the rank in society everything is

Colored People by Henry Louis Gates Jr.
I feel there are many reasons that Henry Louis Gates Jr chose Colored People as
the title of his memoir. I think the word Colored in the title was used to group
everyone as a whole. The word Colored was also used to self identify different
races inside and out of Piedmont. I think he used People to say that everyone
matters no matter where you hail from. The word Colored and the word People
have two different meanings alone. But put the two together they become a
powerful piece to the novel. I feel that when you put Colored and People together it
gives off a thought to the reader that the book is only going to be about black people.
In the novel, Henry touches basis on more than just black people. Henry gave the
phrase Colored People a whole new meaning. In Henry s words Colored People
means: Accept me for who I am, despite my background.
Setting
Henry Louis Gates Jr. s novel, Colored People, took place in a small town.
Piedmont was the name of the small town in which mostly black people stayed. All
the black folk that stayed there were making ends meet. The men of the town were
all working the same job. This is because the novel was being told in the early and
mid 1900 s. Back when segregation was around and blacks and whites could not
work in the same space. This was also when TV and radio brought all black families
together as a whole. Back then the black people in Piedmont could not do anything
but dream about having lives like the black families
The World Is Too Much With Us Figurative Language
Throughout the poems The World Is Too Much With Us, by William Wordsworth,
and God s Grandeur, written by Gerard Manley Hopkins, figurative language is
used in order to share a view of modern nature and society. Poetic devices such as
imagery, parallel structure, and alliteration are a few materials that both compare
and contrast these two works. By incorporating these, each individual author
enhances the overall meaning through the idea of adding depth to the writing.
Wordsworth, the creator of The World Is Too Much With Us, uses his poem to
serve as a reference to his beliefs on the malicious, cruel world around us, and how
people are growing apart from nature. Along with this, Gerard Manley Hopkins
words help build upon the beauty and importance of nature, and how God above
keeps its well being preserved. Due to all of this, each poem is given unique qualities
that relate their meanings to one another.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In William Wordsworths poem, he uses biblical allusions; for example in the quote,
It moves us not. Great God, (Wordswood 9) the author uses a biblical character,
God, to enhance the words around it and in Gerard Manley Hopkins writing, he

for the same purpose. Along with this, both poets uses imagery in order to influence
the attractiveness of nature and the world around, including the line And are up

flowers in a quiet setting. Here in Hopkins poem, imagery is embedded in the line,
Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs , to help construct emphasis on
the beauty in the world. In both poems, each author, Wordswood and Hopkins, points
at a direct opinion on society and its pros and

The Philosophers Revealed In The Roosters By Ale Woods
This story is about a family s roosters who were attacked. Their mother thinks it was
the neighbor s dog who attacked them. There is evidence for that because Buster was
always hanging around the rooster pen with its mouth open and watery. Buster would
stare at the roosters and his expression would always look like he wanted to eat those
roosters.
They all found out on one cold, snowy day. Their Dad was out on a business trip
and everybody was in the warm house except Lanie who burst through the back door
and yelled The roosters are dead! . Everyone was shocked about this news and the
mother went outside to see for herself and it was true, the roosters were dead. She
was very sad and so was Lanie who looked like she was about to cry.

Benefits Of Tahini Sesame Paste
Recently I bought some tahini sesame paste for a recipe I found in a cookbook.
For those of you, who are new to this, tahini comes from crushed sesame seeds.
It is one of the world s healthiest foods to eat.
I went to the local shops to buy some, there were two jars, hulled and unhulled.
My instincts told me to get the unhulled which I did, although I was concerned the
unhulled tahini sesame paste would not taste as sweet.
Unhulled is stronger in flavour, a little bitter in taste, and darker in colour. However,
you soon get used to the taste and after a while, it actually tastes really good.
If you are not sure of the taste you can always add some raw organic honey.
Now, it was time to look into tahini benefits. And could I use it more often?... Show

Tahini Benefits
My anti aging regime is already jam packed, nevertheless, there is always room for
one more.
Your complexion will glow from all the vitamins and minerals, it is probably the best
for looking younger.
It contains all the B vitamins and zinc you need for healthy skin and hair.
Tahini sesame paste unhulled, has two fantastic compounds, sesamolin, and sesamin.
As a result, these two compounds enhance absorption of vitamin E in the body.
This is important, as air pollution alone can cut the amount of vitamin E in the body,
and in turn causes wrinkles.
Sesamolin and sesamin compounds are of great benefit to a healthy heart, and
hormonal health.
These compounds will protect the liver from toxic damage and help lower high blood
pressure.
Do you have arthritis in your knees? If you do, eating a couple of tablespoons daily
of tahini sesame paste will help reduce pain.
Researchers discovered this is as good as taking Tylenol, if not better, and certainly
Images Of The Virgin Mary Nursing Christ
1. What was the original function and significance of images of the Virgin Mary
nursing Christ (called Virgo Lactans, or Madonna del Latte)?
Images of the Virgin Mary nursing Christ were originally intended not as
pornography, but as visuals that depicted the nourishment of a child. The social
setting of when these images emerge helps explain why these images of exposed
breasts were perceived as tolerable. During the mid fourteenth century Europe
experienced a severe food crisis. With the fertilities rates increasing and the food
supply of the previous century depleting Europe was left to face severe famine. With
this in mind one can understand why the popularity of the image of the nursing
Virgin Mary grew at this time. The nursing Virgin Mary depicted an image of
nutrition and stability that appealed to the people living through this unpredictable
time (Miles 29). Aside from being an appealing concept to the people who were
facing wide instability it also provided the church a way to drive a message. The
church utilized this image as a way to promote breastfeeding among mothers. The
fourteenth century Tuscan child care manuals discussed in Mile s text explained the
need for this breastfeeding propaganda. The manuals were designed to warn mothers
of the dangers of feeding their children milk from animals, and of wet nurses. Popular
preachers even took it upon themselves to push the message of breastfeeding in their
sermons. Bernardino of Siena urged maternal suckling in his
Soul Banging Short Story
Soul Banging Gerrrr raad! Gerrrrr raaad! Can you come out to play? Gerard Gould
lived on the second floor right next to playground 12. We would stand outside his
apartment windows and chant the above until we got a response. An excited
Gerard would pop up to his living room window and yell back, I ll be right out
guys. He d be excited because we usually never played with him. He was
perpetually bullied. When he was around the playgrounds and in school, for some
reason we d always pick on him and make fun, and I never knew why him. I never
knew what made him different than the other kids but sometime during the
developing stages of our socializing, he was chosen as an outcast. Who chose him
and why was a mystery, but he wore the Bullied Badge throughout our childhood...
and despicably his. We weren t calling him to come out and play because we
needed a sixth person for a game of football or another kid to play army no we
were bored and couldn t find anything else to do, so someone would decide to get
Gerard to come out so we could mentally abuse him and occasionally physically. He
was so desperate for peer interaction that he d come running down in hopes that
today will be the day that we d actually treat him slightly like a friend, but that
never was to be. How deplorable were we to treat someone like this and how is it
possible that some of us didn t know it was cruel? There was another kid that shared
the bully status

Mission Command For The Commander And His Staff
Title
Throughout history commanders and leaders at all echelons in armies across the
globe have been required to make many decisions that affect operations both at home
and abroad. These decisions were based on many different facts and assumptions
available to the commander and his staff and then synthesized to produce orders for
the various missions that were conducted across a myriad of operational
environments. In today s Army, commanders utilize the philosophy of mission
command, which became prominent in the 1980 s. They do this through integration
of the warfighting functions when conducting unified land operations (ADRP 6 0).

Build Cohesive Teams The first principle is build cohesive teams through mutual
trust. Building trust takes time and effort and requires commanders to work
diligently to earn and then keep that trust. This is one reason why battlefield
circulation is so important. When commanders and leaders take the time to get to
know their Soldiers they build a relationship that helps form a bond of trust.
Create Shared Understanding The second principle is to create shared understanding
so that all units involved have a clear understanding of their operational environment,
its purpose, problems, and approaches to solving them. Commanders must share their
vision so that everyone knows exactly what their purpose is and how they can help to
achieve mission success. When we understand the operational environment, the
problem, and how to work to solve the problem we become vested in the operational
outcome as a whole.
Provide a Clear Commander s Intent The third principle is provide a clear
commander s intent. This is very essential to the mission and operational success
because it helps provide for unity of effort. The commander s intent must be clear and

It affects young men from all backgrounds and there is little research on what risk factors there are. The encyclopaedia Britannica online defines teste cancer as a disease characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells within the testis, the reproductive organ that produces sperm. Testicular cancerrepresents only 1 percent of all cancers in males, but it is the most common malignancy for men between ages 15 and 35. 1 Whether or not teste cancer is the most serious health problem among Maori arguable and additional health related problems should be discussed. First of all, testicular cancer is one of the most crippling diseases creating significant damage on patient and family. Additionally, the discrepancy between Maori and Pakeha diagnosis of testicular cancer is a cause for concern. Contrariwise a lack of knowledge on the difference between Maori and Pakeha psychology and the way Psychologist/Psychiatrist deal with Maori patients. Finally, there is general reluctance for Maori to seek mental healthwhich leads to difference between diagnosis and treatment. Firstly, the mental and physical anguish that surrounds testicular cancer is so significant because it is the most common cancer affecting men between the ages of 15 and 39, but it is not limited to this age range. However, young men typically do not get a lot of cancer, so overall testicular cancer is a

But webcams can also record videos which you can then store onto your computer. This will allow you to present a less shaky and more stable video. Of course, once again, you can take videos with a smartphone or a video camcorder, and for some types of videos, it could be useful, such as recording a video of a child s birthday party. • 9. Imagery in The Road Not Taken Essay In Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken , Frost shows the everyday human struggle to make a choice that could change the course of one s life. In his poem, a person has the choice to take one road or the other. One road is worn out from many people taking it, and the other is barely touched, for fewer have taken that road. Throughout the poem, the speaker learns that just because so many other people have done one thing, or walked one way, does not mean everyone has to. Sometimes you just have to go your own way. In the poem, a person is walking along a path in an autumn forest in the early hours of the morning, when he stumbles upon a fork in the road. The speaker wishes that he would be able to travel down both of them, but he has places... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many key aspects to this poem. The speaker, or the person who is experiencing the events in the poem, is a traveler walking through the woods. There is no specific occasion, although the poem does mention that the speaker did not have enough time to travel both roads on that one day. The setting of the poem in time is told in the line Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, (1), it tells us that the setting is autumn, because the leaves are changing, and have turned yellow. The setting in place is a forest, although it Frost does not specify where the forest is. In this poem, I believe the theme is that you have to jump at an opportunity when you get it, or you may never get that opportunity again. Moving on to the tone of the poem, I believe that it is wistful, and that the speaker might be looking back on his days, and realizing that he taking the other road might have made all of the difference in his life. There is very good diction in this poem, as some words express Frost s feeling more than other s would ve. For example, in the line Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, (1), Frost really emphasizes the two roads separating from each other. In another line In leaves no step had trodden black (12), trodden is a more appropriate than another word such as crushed or pulverized, because it is the past form of trod, or to step in something, and gives an image of human feet stepping on the freshly fallen leaves. In the poem, many instances
  • 10. 1984 Collage Orwell Essay PROBABLE CAUSE OF THE BHOPAL INDUSTRIAL DISASTER OF 1984 EDWARD HICKMAN INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE AND TOXICOLOGY EMBRY RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT On December 3, 1984 a gas leak occurred at a facility in Bhopal India, owned and operated by Union Carbide India Limited that killed an estimated 3,500 people, although some speculate the death toll was closer to 8,000. To this day, the residual effects of the toxic chemicals that were poured on the ground and buried by Union Carbide workers at the Bhopal site continue to make people sick. Heavily contaminated soils and groundwater have poisoned an estimated 200,000 people with chronic exposure since the gas leak occurred and long after the plant was shut down. Union Carbide claimed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The pipe was not sealed and a faulty valve allowed the water to mix with the gas causing a chemical reaction which heated the tank up tremendously. According to Cameochemicals.noaa, MIC gas is Highly Flammable, is Polymerizable, and most importantly in this case, Water Reactive (Cameochemicals). When workers poured more water over the pipes to try and cool them this undoubtedly increased the volatility of the reaction that was taking place. Methyl Isocyanate readily undergoes violent chemical changes at elevated temperatures and pressures (Cameochemicals). This theory could be where the company s saboteur claim comes from, due to the premise that water was added intentionally, Even though it may have been a desperate attempt to prevent the tank from bursting under pressure. In the confusion and chaos surrounding the days following the leak it is impossible to determine whether the site was tampered with or altered to throw off an investigation of the gas leak. Although the cause of the worst industrial accident in history may never be clearly known, there is no mistaking Union Carbide s total disregard for the safety and health of the people of Bhopal. Studies of the ground water near the chemical plant confirm that contamination levels
  • 11. Is Excessive Force in Police Brutality Related to Race Essays The perception of excessive force has been fiercely debated for the last two to three decades. With continuous civil disobedience, increasing cases of police brutality are growing at an exponential rate. Often cases of police brutality are brought to our attention through public media showcasing very disturbing and sometimes unlawful situations. Some may say that prejudice toward certain ethnicities may be the root cause of this recent influx. However, some may say that resulting social inequalities towards certain ethnicities may bring about frustration thus causing police officers to use more force more often. This then pops up to this preliminary question, Is excessive force in police brutalityracerelated? My personal beliefs lead me... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you remember correctly that Rodney King was pulled over by the police after a long reckless chase pursuit. After being stopped he was disruptive and was beaten severely which many believed to be rather excessive. After viewing the video of this particular incident I found it to be rather excessive, but in the interest of public protection. According to the book Official Negligence (p.42), Mr. King was a prior convicted felon of second degree robbery. He was sentenced to two years in a federal institution and released after six months of service for good behavior. I m not sure if the cops knew that Mr. King was a prior convicted felon, but precautions must be taken in order to in sue the safety of the officers and of the public. According to the book Black Voices: An Anthology of African American literature (p.125), there are many where cops who are charged in police brutality cases using standard textbook procedures just because the case involves a person of ethnicity. Essentially the person of ethnicity claims he was excessively mistreated by a cop when he was not. This situation is often abused, and is something that I strongly disapprove of and should stop. The more this situation occurs, the harder it makes for people to understand the startling differences between a racially motivated assault and one that is not. The end result is more racial outrage towards police officers which produces more supposed police brutality cases. This is a
  • 12. The Conflict Diamonds Of Sierra Leone The conflict diamonds started to be present and problematic in Sierra Leone as soon as DeBeers mining company took control of all diamond prospects throughout this region. Although DeBeers was keeping a moderate watch on the trading and actions being taken through it, traders from Lebanon (bordered by Syria and Israel to the south) were able to easily smuggle and mine diamonds out through the company. Later towards the 1950s, countries, such as Sierra Leone, had to give up the chance of regulating the illicit diamondindustry, thus having to warn owners of the mines to provide their own security measures for the mines and land they owned. The issue wasn t justly political or economic until Sierra Leone gained its independence in 1961, letting Siaka Stevens enroll as Prime minister, therefore having a one party ruler. Stevens took control, and monopolized the diamond mines, as well as encouraging them to gain power and fame nationwide. Things were looking austere for diamond control rights and regulations, not only to watch a civil war emerge, surging through the country as fire fought fire and brother fought against brother. As the war extended from 1991 to 1999, it brought forth other problems as a result of citizen on citizen warfare for the diamonds such as rape, murder, and sex slaves. Once 75,000 lives were claimed, the people of Sierra Leone finally realized that victims and executors of these terrible crimes has emerged from the cash crop known as diamonds. Blood

The thought of having Emma Stone being the protagonist is a film, is a great fit for this type of character in the movie. I believe that Emma Stone have certain way of showing a leadership role a multiple of films that she starred in. Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer did a magnificent job playing as the role off the two maids. Both of these women have probably experienced some sorts of racism in the lives, and can relate well to the movie. • 17. Last Night By Sharon Olds Summary In the poem Last Night by Sharon Olds, the essence of the poem was greatly enhanced through the wistful delivery of the speaker and the present tone of lust and desire. This was obtained through the successful pronunciation of words and the various use of literary devices such as metaphors and similes, in addition to the steamy atmospherethat the erotic tone of this poem brings. The profound languages used helps the reader develop an idea of what the context is and the main idea that revolves around the sentences or words. In the where it begins with Love? it shows the uncertainty of an individual who s confused and possesses unanswered questions. When the speaker emphasizes the question mark at the end of the word, it genuinely separates the idea of a general question and one that is searching for answers. The goal of the language used in the poem will not be achieved without the speaker acting on it verbally. Words are empty without emotions and therefore the speaker plays an important role that enforces meaning and structure onto what is being said. Another important factor would be the speaker s attitude. How the speaker approaches the poem gives away the main idea, the concept and even the identity of the person behind these words. For example, if the speaker proceeds through the poem with a very positive attitude, it sets a different atmosphere than the one that would be if it was approached negatively. In this case, the speaker continues with the poem

Secured vs Unsecured Lines of Credit There are 2 types: secured (attached to collateral or an asset such as a home) and unsecured (which is a stand alone account). Secured Lines of Credit usually have lower interest rates (typically Bank Prime plus 1% depending on the FI). However, if you miss a mortgage payment and/or a Line of Credit Payment, both accounts get effected and thus, it hurts your credit score. Basically you are using the available equity (the value of your home vs home much of your mortgage you have paid down) on your home to secure it. Unsecured Lines of Credit are usually higher in interest and financial institutions determine what the rate will be: Bank Prime plus something . For example, bank prime might be 3% (when the federal rates are 1% usually in a low performing economy). The Plus something would depend on your credit rating (which you would find out once you do the credit check). What is the lowest or highest limit allowed when applying for a LOC? It depends on the financial institution. Some institutions have a minimum limit of $10,000 for LOCs, where CCs could be as low as $500 depending on the CC type and at the discretion of the FI. The highest limit again is at the discretion of the bank and how much they consider you as a credit risk . Some FIs allow for a $40,000 to $50,000 maximum limit. The polar bear and the Anglerfish are adapted to the extreme enviornments in which they live in. The polar bear and the anglerfish have characteristics to match each habitat they live in. The polar bear lives where the air, ice, and air intersect. They live most of their lives on sea ice. Where, the temperature an drop as low as 50 degrees Farenheit. On occasion, they might visit land only to build birthing dens for females. These canivores can expand their jaws to eat their prey whole. their enormous stomachs allow them to eat prey up to twice their size. One of their great adaptation qulaities is being able to eat large quanitites at once. There are 200 known species of the anglerfish. There are probably more than that because they inhabit great depths in the oceans where humans and their research seldom venture. Since they inhabit great depths the sunlight can not reach them, which means no light. The deep living anglerfish have a certain type of bateria that produces light and glows on the dark. This is called bioluminesence. Bioluminesese is great for adaptation to their extreme enviornment. Believe it or not, the male anglerfish looks like a total different species! They are ten times smaller than the female anglerfish. Scientists at first were noticing that fisherman were only catching female anglerfish. Something they did notice was that there were small growths on the side of the female anglerfish. Which turned out to be a male anglerfish! What it is that when the two mate, the males digestive system weakens and it s making it impossible to eat on his own. As a result, the male bites into her belly and then his mouth fuses to the female body. In conclusion, he will stay attached to the female readily to mate. Page 4 CEO Gary Kelly and What Makes Southwest Airlines So Successful What traits and skills does Kelly possess which make him an effective leader? There is a very simple answer to this. Kelly is a down to earth person who never wanted to be a CEO. He did not want the stress and headaches that went with the position. He started out as a Controller and made his way to the top. He is an accountant, musician, loves sports, and people. His wife Carol states that she s the more talkative and outgoing of the two. But she laughs at her husband s suggestion that he used to be a little shy. He s a born leader, she says. (Reed, 2004) Kelly himself says, however, his leadership abilities are all learned. Being a leader is about character ... being straightforward and honest, having integrity, and treating people right, he says. Kelly can be a demanding boss. But he tries to be more nurturing than neutering in his dealings with employees. (Reed, 2004) Denison says that Kelly can be nurturing almost to a fault. But that, he adds, also is the secret to his ability to get great performance from those who work for him. Gary won t give up on people, Denison says. He will go to extraordinary lengths to help those having trouble

Sexual misconduct among political leaders in our nation has long been a part of work life on Capitol Hill (Fandos), especially in light of the prior conduct of our President, the conversation surrounding this topic has never been more pressing. After examining the rhetoricused by Al Franken and respective media groups in response to the Tweeden Scandal, it can clearly be observed that the differing motivations of the rhetors drastically shape the rhetoric produced even though the exigence and audiences are the same. Firstly, for rhetoric to be established, there must be something to which rhetors respond. The event must be significant and present (for both the rhetor and audience), so that the response envisioned by the rhetor can occur. The sexual misconduct of Al Franken is both significant and present because it enters into the dialogue surrounding the post Harvey

It is one of the world s healthiest foods to eat. I went to the local shops to buy some, there were two jars, hulled and unhulled. Images of the Virgin Mary nursing Christ were originally intended not as pornography, but as visuals that depicted the nourishment of a child. The social setting of when these images emerge helps explain why these images of exposed breasts were perceived as tolerable. During the mid fourteenth century Europe experienced a severe food crisis. With the fertilities rates increasing and the food supply of the previous century depleting Europe was left to face severe famine. With this in mind one can understand why the popularity of the image of the nursing Virgin Mary grew at this time. The nursing Virgin Mary depicted an image of nutrition and stability that appealed to the people living through this unpredictable time (Miles 29). Aside from being an appealing concept to the people who were facing wide instability it also provided the church a way to drive a message. The church utilized this image as a way to promote breastfeeding among mothers. The fourteenth century Tuscan child care manuals discussed in Mile s text explained the need for this breastfeeding propaganda. The manuals were designed to warn mothers of the dangers of feeding their children milk from animals, and of wet nurses. Popular preachers even took it upon themselves to push the message of breastfeeding in their sermons. Bernardino of Siena urged maternal suckling in his
