Abstract
Bluetooth is a wireless technology used for short range UHF radio wave transmission. It was
invented by Telecom giant Ericsson way back in 1994. It officially got its name Bluetoothin 1998
when Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) comprising of Intel, Toshiba, Ericsson, IBM, and
Nokia was formed. Bluetooth SIG has more than 24,000 members at present. Almost every mobile
device and most of the computers are equipped with Bluetooth today. It signifies the success
Bluetooth has received over the years. It was basically invented to serve as wireless replacement of
RS232. Since then it was been incorporated for a myriad of applications like data transmission,
voice transmission, wirelessly connecting devices, and numerous others applications. One of the
aspect because of which Bluetooth technology stands out in the market is its ability to handle data
and voice transmission at the same time. The focus of this paper is its data transmission application,
how it works, its limitations, and scope for technological advancements to negate its limitations.
1. Introduction
The key features of Bluetooth technology are ubiquitousness, low power, and low cost. is the way
Bluetooth group defines themselves in the market [1]. Bluetooth works on a technology named
Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum. Here the entire data is divided into

Family Therapy
Introduction
Family therapy is a form of psychotherapy employed to assist members of a family in improving
communication systems, conflict resolution, and to help the family to deal with certain problems
that manifest in the behavior of members. In most cases, deviance in a family member is an
indication of underlying family dysfunctions. This paper looks the counselling procedure that can
be applied to help the Kline family solve their problems. It answers certain questions including
those of the expected challenges during therapy and ways of dealing with the challenges.
1.What are your initial reactions after reading the intake interview? What are the themes that
interest you the most in this case? Why?

The counselor will ask questions to clarify and summarize the family s concerns. I will answer any
questions and address any concerns raised by the family about the therapy process. I will also assist
in laying down parental authority and a sense of impartiality among the children. This will reinstate
equilibrium in the family and motivate all members to participate in the therapy.
Each family member will be taught on the importance of listening to the issues raised other
members of the family. This will lay down the foundation for the future sessions. I will also coach
the members of the Kline household on how to provide suitable feedback on issues raised by other
family members. The session shall also entail a discussion of the expectations of each family
member. It is a good point to begin instructing the family on the necessary required in order for
those changes to be achieved.
3.George does not seem very open to looking at his role in contributing to the problems within his
family. If you were to see him as your client, how would you go about establishing a relationship
with him?
Resistance of certain clients to group therapy is among the many challenges that therapists
commonly face. George seeks to detach himself from the problem and sees his role in the family as
that of a saint. Being the apparent head of the family

Penn State Women s Volleyball
Six out of the last eight College Volleyball Championships have been won by Penn State
volleyball. In those years they have lost a total of twenty two games. In 2013 2014 there were just
five losses (D1 Women s Volleyball

historically consistent team. Having Micha Hancock, an ESPY nominee for the Best Female
Collegiate Athlete two years running, as their setter, was a big part of their success over the last
couple years (The Daily Collegian). Coach Russ Rose also has high expectations for this coming

Coach Rose believes that all the girls have progressed well, making large strides towards where
they need to be. The Penn State women started off this season ranked No. 1 in the AVCA
Division I Coaches Preseason Poll (The Daily Collegian). They will have six televised matches in
the 2015 season, three in their home gym and three at their opponents . They have a tough

expected once again to be the top team this year and have had a great start to the 2015 season with

Bronze Age Catastrophes
The Bronze Age started around 2300 BC in Europe and it consisted of the new found material of
bronze. It was an important development in many cities during the time. Bronze was used for a
multitude of items including weapons, chariot parts, tools, decorative objects, and ritual vessels.
The bronze age eventually came to an end because of four major catastrophes that came around
1200 BC that help shape the first millennium. Climate change, migration, new technology, and
administrative innovations was the origin of this change. One of the first catastrophe that came and
helped end the bronzeage was climate change. Around 1200 BC many regions in Afro Eurasia were

Imperfect competition can not operate under strenuous and tough procedures of a perfect
competition market structure. In this particular instance of of imperfect competition, the market is
satisfied with the comfort of increasing the price in order to gain maximum profit. Apple sells the
divergent technology in the market. This allows them to sustain themselves in the market
effectively and logically.
Compared to an oligopoly, monopolistic competition has many more competitors, so Apple s super
tablet computer is considered as monopolistic competition. Other computer companies such as
Samsung, HTC, and Dell are adept competitors that share the mobile and tablet computer market
around the world. The sales revenue made by these competitive companies is close enough to Apple
that keeps themselves competitive. Monopolistic competitive market displays the following

Improvements As A Writer And Thinker
Improvements as a Writer and Thinker Reflecting as a writer and thinker I have noticed
tremendous improvements in my work. My whole thought process and way of viewing topics has
changed, giving me a better understanding when I write. In the beginning of the term I ran into
many problems in College Writing I for instance, I was not too familiar with writingin MLA format
and struggled reaching the page count. I found myself to procrastinate when papers were assigned
making my anxiety levels increase. Despite my struggles as a writer and thinker, I learned how to
overcome these obstacles. I learned to be open minded and looking at topics from another
perspective. In the beginning of the term I was assigned an essaythat described me as a writer and
thinker. With this essay being my first assignment, I was quite stressed with the feeling of failure.
After this assignment I learned the importance of the drafting system. After my paper was graded
I received it back and noticed multiple mistakes. This was the first step I practiced improving.
Writing multiple drafts helped me analysis the material I wrote from another point of view. For
example, I was able to eliminate sections that were unrelated from the main point. Building my
vocabulary up another step I had focus as a writer and thinker. I used a combination between the
dictionary and thesaurus to help me increase my vocabulary. Overtime with experience, I saw
improvements in all of these categories that I was struggling

Reflection Of The King s Speech
Part A: The movie В«The Kings SpeechВ» is a movie about a man that in the start of the movie
is represented as the duke of York. He is the son of the current king, king George the 5th. Early
in the movie we are presented with the main problem for the duke, which is his inability to speak
publically. They tell us that the duke has something called Demosthenes which is a fear of
public speaking. We see this problem very early when the duke is about to hold a speech on
behalf of the king, but it is made very clear that he is incapable of doing so. The speech is
cancelled early and we are introduced to one of his many speech therapists. Despite him trying out
various vocal exercises with different therapists, it is made obvious to us that the... Show more

The King is tired of his stammer and personally has given up on therapy, but his wife probably
sees how hurt the duke is from not being able to speak properly, so she seeks out help and finds
Lionel Logue. The duke is convinced to try one last time, and is introduced to Lionel. The first
meeting is when the seed of their relationship is planted, or maybe sapling rather. Lionel is very
stubborn and strict to the duke; he talks in a way that could be seen as if he is trying to be a
smartass. Obviously, as stubborn as the duke is, he doesn t like this. But I personally think their
stubbornness is one of the most important reasons as to why their relationship ends up in
friendship. Another big thing is also how Lionel doesn t treat the duke as if he has a higher status
than him. He simply treats him as an equal, and I think this is new for the duke, and I doubt this
impacts the relationship negatively. The duke gets upset during the session and storms out and
promises not to come back, but as I said earlier, he gets a vinyl record of himself that Lionel

Banking Concept Of Education
Banking Concept of Education Being oppressed means the absence of choices Bell Hooks. Pablo
Freire views the banking concept of education as an oppressive form of learning which essentially
limits the students creativity and innovation in mastering the material. I personally have had the
misfortune of partaking in a class that followed the banking concept, my Biology two class. To this
day I still feel the ramifications of having learned bio through the banking concept which has put a
significant handicap on me compared to my peers that used the problem inducing method. In the

fundamentally a submissive one for the student. As the student... Show more content on

Our teacher viewed the textbook and his specific way of thinking as the only valid source of
information which in order to get a good grade, we, the students had to simply accept. Due to the
fact that the class heavily favored a specific way of thinking, and types of information which
were viewed as important it dampened the need to find novel ways of learning that suited
individual students better, and limited the need to critically think about the subject which would
have deepened comprehension. This system also gave students a disillusion that they understood
the subject since they had a high grade in the class. My personal disillusion broke after I took
my first collage bio assignment. The assignment was on a subject we covered in bio 2, and I
vividly remember scoring well on that test, but to my surprise I struggled on the assignment. I
came to the realization that I just knew facts about the subject, rather then actually understanding
what was happening. The assignments asked questions which required a deep understanding of
the actually processes in contrast to knowing where specific items were or what the definition of
a term was. Unlike high school, in college I was given the freedom to learn any way which I saw

Led Tattoos Research Paper
The history of the tattoos can be traced to the Polynesian islands. The traditional tattooing still
exists on Tahiti, where you can get a hand tapped tattoo. It means that the device used for
tattooing will be made from two twigs and a needle comb. This comb is made from shark teeth or
shells and it is attached to one of the twigs. The second one is used to tap the comb placed on the
skin, forcing it to puncture it and induce the pigment. The sound of tapping is, actually the origin of
the word tautau. Luckily for you, tattooing advanced very much in the modern world. Technology
today brought tons of innovations into the world of tattoos. Here are some of the most interesting

John Ruskin s Unspoken Words
Unspoken words are harmless until they are spoken. One can think anything that he/she that comes
into their mind; however, no one will ever know what they are thinking. It is impossible to read
minds; therefore, no one can judge anyone based on what they know, their thoughts, and what they
believe. In fact, this is stated in John Ruskin s quote: What we think, or what we know, or what we
believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do. This quote
primarily means that one cannot get into trouble unless they take action to access them into a
situation. Moreover, John Ruskin s statement is correct. This precision is demonstrated in
numerous political/economical based pieces of literature, and further displayed by the... Show more

Implicit words are innocuous. One can think of anything that comes to their mind, and they cannot
be judged for it because no one knows what that thought is. Accordingly, thoughts, good or bad, are
harmless. A thought being innocuous is shown in George Orwell s novel, 1984. In this text, a
government attempts to take over the minds of its citizens. This happens if they are known to
believe in the wrong things. Wrong beliefs include believing in Big Brother as the nation s leader.
Furthermore, Winston, the main character, was down with the so called Big Brother, however, he
never stated his wrong beliefs (until revealed at the end). Because his thoughts were not spoken of,
the government did not find out that he wanted Big Brother to rule. In effect, Winston was not
punished for his beliefs, considering no one knew and could judge him on it. Not getting
punishment shows that there is no consequence in keeping your thoughts in, while the
consequences can be extreme, getting brainwashed, if you act on it. Similarly, within Barbara
Ehrenreich s Serving in Florida, the narrator went against her thoughts on speaking out in order to
not be punished. In

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Essay
As new technologies develop and become mainstream over time, there needs to be specific
regulations in place. It is best if these sets of regulations are developed and maintained
independently from battery manufacturers, automobile manufacturers, and/or suppliers. Currently
today there are many bodies that maintain these standards. A few of them include UL (Underwriters
Laboratories), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), NEMA (National Electrical

I Don t A Good President
When friends of mine who are Trump supporters inform me that they support him, I don t
understand the reasons why they picture him as our future president of the united states. Donald
Trump has never been an elected official. He has never been elected into an office of any kind.
He s never had to broker political compromise or gave any political speeches prior to him running
for president. With no experience in politics at all, why would people think he d make a good
president? Sure, Donald Trumpis a barefaced self promoter and experienced businessman. But
people don t realize all of the mistakes he has made as a businessman. Washington, D.C., is not a
type of Wall Street or anything for him to lose money or make some reckless decisions that
would put our country into a deeper hole that we are already into, and also getting multiple
things done within the nation s capital takes more than a huge personality and a strong will. If
Donald Trump is elected to be our president, he ll have to quickly learn how to deal with his
Democratic associates in the House of Representatives and Senate. He ll also have to get used to
the pace of government because there are moments when things can accelerate pretty quickly and
also where things can move extremely slow at times. He ll also have to get used to giving speeches
on topics he may not be interested in, especially when it comes to conversations dealing with

is in control of her mind. In the line where crossed lines crackle (9), proves to the reader, that her
mind consists of many different malfunctions and confusions. In the next six lines the speaker
changes it up some, it seems like her frusturation is increasing. The speaker tells the readers to

Gertrude s Tragic End Of Shakespeare s Hamlet
John (Zhiyao) Ma
21L.009, Shakespeare
March 11, 2015
Gertrude s Tragic End The nature of Shakespeare s plays, with its notable lack of stage directions,
gives way to multiple different interpretations of the characters, plot, and even of the purpose of the
play itself. The character of Gertrude is no exception. Gertrude s character and motives, being left
ambiguous, have been interpreted in many different ways in various productions of Hamlet. Was she
implicit in the death of King Hamlet, or was she merely a clueless bystander? Did she drink the
poison as an act of motherly self sacrifice, or was it an accidental tragedy? Zefferelli s Hamlet
(1990) and Almereyda s Hamlet (2000) provide two different interpretations on Gertrude s
characterization. In particular, there exist substantial differences in their renditions of Gertrude s
death while Almereyda portrays her death as a noble suicide, Zefferelli paints her death as a by
product of her unceasing lust for pleasure. Furthermore, in that scene, we also notice a difference
in Hamlet s attitude towards Gertrude. By analyzing these points along with other scenes within
the context of the entire film, we manage to develop an understanding of Almereyda s and
Zefferelli s view on Gertrude and how use that to develop the tragic conclusion of the final scene.
Almereyda s rendition of Gertrude s death portrays her death as a noble act of self sacrifice. [Clip

The Famous Chicago Style Hot Dogs
In United States, the hotdog is as American as apple pie; however, the sausages were culturally
imported from Germany, called Frankfurters and eventually popularized and renamed ,hotdog, in
the U.S. In Chicago, there s a specialty hotdog that almost all Chicagoans and tourist eat. It s so
special that there are over thousand made in small food stands throughout Chicago. On February
8th, 2014, I went to Donald s Famous Hotdogs in Chicago Illinois. Donald s is a small diner
serving soup, sandwiches, and hotdogs. I ordered the best item on the menu, the Chicago style
hotdog. The Chicago style hotdog stands out from the rest because it s delicious flavor, colorful
presentation and variety of condiments.
What separates Donald s Chicago style the other Chicago style hotdog is not the topping but the
fundamental idea of hot dog, the sausage. There are two types of hotdog sausages, wieners which
tend to contain pork and chicken or turkey. Theses sausages are inexpensive but lack in flavor
while frankfurters or franks tend to more expensive, nevertheless are all beef and strongly
seasoned. Equally important is the hotdog s casing. Traditional casing is made from the small
intestines of sheep; it s known as natural casing franks. These sausages have firm texture and have
a signature snap that releases its juicy flavor when bitten. Donald s Chicago style hotdog is served
with an all beef frank which adds to taste overall. The recognizable curved shape of the hotdog is

Reflection On Professional Development
In this short essay my own personal view on professional development will be made evident through
reviewing past experiences, allowing recommendations for better practice to occur. Other topics
discussed and analysed will be; the structure of the organisation, the effectiveness on leadership and
management. My own role within the organisational structurewill be reflected on, considering the
impact of skills in practice, further, justifying what I will need for future personal and professional
development.
Reflective practice is an important tool, as people learn from their own professional experiences
(Pascal and Brown, 2009). Reflection provides opportunity for furthering personal and professional
development (Nganga, 2011). As it helps to certify knowledge skills and experience that is used
within practice (Freire, 1972).
Boud, Keogh and Walker (1985) states that, looking through past and present experiences helps
with progression in the future. The reflection on practice is finding the weaknesses and overcoming
them (Dyer and Taylor, 2012).
Johns (2000) situates that a number of models can help to structure a reflection. As they provide
a framework that helps develop a deeper understanding and analysis. One reflective model is
Schön (2002) the model of reflection in action and reflection on action. This model is
beneficial to use as it involves working on getting to the bottom of what is happening in the
experience process, such as; the decisions made and the feelings felt at that time of the event.
Reflection on action involves looking over the event and drawing on professional knowledge to
understand what happened and why it happened and to develop deeper knowledge (Thompson
and Pascal, 2012). However, this is not the only model that could be used. Other models such as
Kolb (1984), Gibbs (1988) and Brookfield (1995) have different frameworks to help breakdown an
issue.
I like to use Schön (2002) model in the workplace as I am thinking about what I am doing as I
am doing it. This does not provide a lot of time to think in depth and to break the event down,
leading to not gaining a better understanding of what happened, without this I have no targets to
better my professional development.

What Is The Epic Of Gilgamesh
Flood stories are a part of most ancient civilizations throughout the whole world. Yet arguably the
most well known is the story of Noah and the Ark. Today I am going to go over the other main
flood stories most closely related with the former, and show proof that out of the numerous flood
narratives, this is the most factual and realistic of all of them. First off we have the ancient
Mesopotamian narrative Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh is told a story by, an immortal man, that
long ago the gods had decided to destroy the whole world by sending a flood. Upon hearing this
information the man Utanapishtim was able to build a giant ship that he stored all different species

nautical skills. Sumerians were the first to write the flood account in cuneiform then the
Akkadian s carried it on, there were two types of dialects Babylonian and Assyrian and they each
had their own version of the flood story. This shows that they were recounting the stories that
they have been told, writing it in their own style. Scholars of the Christian faith believe that the
recounting of the Noah s flood was told orally and passed down until Moses eventually wrote it to

Balancing Family Work Life
I. Introduction A. Thesis Statement Attending school as an adult, and maintaining a source of
employment can be a daunting task, as many adults who had to delay their college education
must know. One of the most challenging aspects of adult life consists of learning how to adjust
accordingly to the rigors of life at home as well as the workplace. Failure to do so can lead to a life
of complete disarray, stress, illness and exhaustion. II. Body Paragraph #1 Topic Sentence #1
Traditionally the typical age group for freshmen in college was between 18 to 19 years of age.
That reality has slowly changed as more young adults are finding their way back in the classroom,

We must look at the adverse effects that those long work hours have on the human body.
Overworked individuals can suffer from work related illnesses as a result of excessive stress.
Work related stress can result from extended hours due to mandatory overtime in some case. An
employer s rigid work hours which can prevent employees from tending to occasional issues at
home can also be blamed for stress on the job. Employees suffering the effects of stress in the
workplace tend to have bouts of absenteeism. A. Supporting evidence Absenteeism in the workplace
is a major issue, with tangible and intangible costs. Although the absentee loses wages in the
process, the major loss is at the expense of the employer. The ebrary book by Lynn Tylczak,
(Attacking absenteeism 1990), describes the intangible costs of absenteeism as follows: Absentee
costs are difficult to quantify. Experts estimate direct wage loses of more than $30 billion per year,
and that s just the beginning. Employers also need to consider the costs of supplementary or
replacement workers. These costs include: Regular wages, overtime wages, and company benefits
Supplementary benefits, such as Social Security, worker s compensation, and unemployment
compensation Administration of recruitment, selection orientation, and training Penalty costs
resulting from delays. The author (Lynn T. 1990) also gives the following explanation from the
tangible cost of absenteeism: It forces

Write Your Own Rock Song
In most instances, a listener strives to find a song that is simultaneously culturally and socially
conscious, while having a listenability that allows the song to be played at any time or any
place. For the above song, I took a pointedly socially and culturally approach to the
socioeconomic inequalities that persist in the United States, using subtle and themes of freedom
and hardship, while concurrently using the not so subtle theme of class differences to convey
the differences between social classes in our society. The lyrics provide the potential listener
with a juxtaposition of someone who invariably questions their place in society in comparison
with an individual who seems to have everything they could ever need or want, hence the
inclusion of (Mercedes) Benz in the second verse. The lyrics are written in simple verse form
and intentionally have the last two lines of the first verse rhyming with each other, as well as the
first two lines of the second verse rhyming with one another. The rhyming is meant to emphasis
the restraints that lower class people have in terms of social mobility and the freedom those in
upper classes enjoy on a daily basis. The end and Benz creates a slant rhyme that resembles the
perpetual cycle of poverty in contrast with someone who is sad about their luxury car being out of
commission. Given the form of the lyrics and their social connections, the options for music
selection and instrumentation varied across genre and sound. For the

Derk Pereboom s Tax Evasion Argume
The subject of free will and whether it is compatible with determinism has been on the table for

whether alternative possibilities are required for responsibility. This paper will be analyzing two of
the philosopher who discuss this subject are Derk Pereboom and Robert Kane. More precisely the

10.This rule is not inflexible. As Heffernan explained: Notwithstanding its merit in excluding
unreliable evidence and enhancing adjudication, the rule against hearsay suffers from the

The Character Analysis Of Rihanna s Music Video
Music videos bring songs to life through its storylines and captivating visuals. They illustrate the
song`s lyrics and can sometimes introduce a new perception to the meaning of the song. In this
short film like music video, the storyline overpowers the song and intensifies its theme and tone.
The suspense and bold images made it impossible to look away from the screen. Its characters
demonstrated that people seek revenge for the things they find valuable to maintain or gain power.
The title and the most repeated phrase in the song does not directly correspond to the song`s
message. Rihanna used the scenario of someone owing her money to signify power and revenge.
As one can see from all of the insane scenes in the video, that it is about going after what you want
no matter what. The main characterwas completely focused on getting her money back so much
that everything else was irrelevant. The steps she took including kidnapping and torturing the
banker s wife were solely for revenge on the banker, because the wife is not involved in the
situation. Her actions were dangerous, however in Rihanna`s character`s perspective, these steps
were trivial because taking back what was her was more important. If we take away the actual
context of the plot, this music videois about a womantaking control over a difficult situation.
Through the entire video, Rihanna is portrayed as someone with power and authority. This boss
like persona is shown through her having two sidekicks, and

Alzheimer s Disease Abstract
Alzheimer s Disease Zaven A. Ohanian San Joaquin Valley College Abstract This research report
will provide a general overview of Alzheimer s disease. This overview will include background
and history of the disease dating back to its discovery by Alois Alzheimer in Germany. It will
provide in depth information on the anatomy and pathophysiology of the disease, specifically on
the roles of beta amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles and on how they progress; what
happens as they progress through the brain. Other topics that will be briefly covered include
etiology, epidemiology, treatment, and prognosis. Alzheimer s Disease Background and History
Alzheimer s disease is an acquired form of dementia that impairs the cognitive and behavioral
functions of the patient. Impairment of these functions severely impacts the individual s capacity to
function in social and occupational settings. There is no cure for Alzheimer s disease and its
progression is long and steady. Alzheimer s disease was first observed by a German psychiatrist
named Alois Alzheimer in 1901. Having been intrigued by the behavior of a patient at the Frankfurt
Asylum, 51 year old female Auguste Deter, Alois Alzheimer began monitoring her condition. Dr.
Alzheimer observed a number of symptoms including reduced comprehension and memory,
aphasia, disorientation, unpredictable behavior, paranoia, auditory hallucinations, and pronounced
psychosocial impairment (Maurer, Gerbaldo Volk, 1997). When

The Changing of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Essay
The Changing of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Once upon a time is the predictable beginning of a fairy tale and happily ever after is the ending.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving is a classical myth that defies the conventional
standards of a fairy tale. Set in a valley in New England, It s a gothic tale of mystery and suspense
that bears no definite ending surrounding the myth of the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow
(Heath 1355). The original text created by Irving was intended for the mature reader, a reader

A distinct wording that dates the more recent text is the delivery of an invitation by a messenger

Fifty three sketches are scattered in the 121 pages of Browns edition. The depiction of Ichabod
Crane does not match his illustration. He is drawn as handsome as Brom Van Brunt and is not
long armed, lanky, and long legged with a pointy nose (Brown 21). The Headless Horseman is

Ghazali Conditional Statement
Al Ghazali begins his discussion of theodicy with a conditional statement that will frame the rest of
his one hundred line discussion contained in his Ihya text. This conditional statement has as its
antecedent a series of eight hypotheticals which are aimed at creating a hypothetical multitude of
immensely knowledgeable and wise creatures. The antecedent contains the following hypotheticals:
all creatures being as intelligent and knowledgeable as the most intelligent and knowledgeable
human, Godgiving each creature the maximum knowledge and wisdom that their souls can
handle, God then giving each creature the combined knowledge of all creatures, God revealing
to each creature the consequences of things, God teaching each creature the mysteries of the
transcendent world, God teaching each creature about divine favor, God making each creature
aware of final punishments, God making each creature aware of good and evil and of benefit
and harm. All of these components of the antecedent serve to set up a scenario in which there
exists a multitude of extremely wise and knowledgeable creatures. These components are
presented in lines one through sixteen of the passage quoted by Ormsby on his pages 38 41 of
Theodicy in Islamic Thought. If the conditions of the antecedent were met, says Al Ghazali, then
another conditional claim would be the case. This second conditional claim, which is the
consequent of the first conditional claim and is contained in lines sixteen through nineteen, has
as its antecedent God asking all of the now hyper wise and hyper knowledgeable creatures to
work together in creating the best possible arrangement of this world and of the transcendent
world. If God asked this of the creatures in the hypothetical, Al Ghazali says in lines nineteen
through twenty four that the creatures would produce an arrangement that is exactly identical to
the way in which God has arranged His creation as it truly is. Al Ghazali, in lines twenty four
through twenty seven goes so far as to say that the product would not have subtracted or added as
little as a gnat s wing and that it would not have altered the position of a single particle of dust.
The product of the creatures labors also would not differ from

How It Feels To Be Colored Me By Zora Neale Hurston
Before laws were passed for equality, African Americans had a difficult time coping with being
undermined by whites. This led them to build their own communities and remain among their
own. The story How it Feels to be Colored Me by Zora Neale Hurston was written in 1928, about
her moving from a community of her own kind to neighbors who discriminated against her and
her family. Though a person s environment can affect how they see himself/herself or how others
might perceive him/her, difficult times does not exactly mean that a person will become bitter or
vengeful about it. In the beginning of Zora s story, she stated a strong quote that solidified her
black identity. She said, I am colored but I offer nothing in the way of extenuating circumstances
except the fact that I am the only Negro in the United States whose grandfather on the mother s
side was not an Indian chief (Hurston, 1928). She goes on to mention that the only encounters that
she had from native whites were the ones passing through the town of Eatonville, Florida that she
would wave to. Zora saw no color. Her comfort zone was in that small town. She was known as...

Top Reasons Why Branding Is Important
Question One A: Using your own words, summarize the seven reasons why branding is important.
1.Strong Brands Protect the Consumer
Brands have always served as sort of an emblem to consumers, that there would be a certain
quality associated with that symbol. There are still many many popular brands today that are able
to be distinguished but, brands are standing out among the rest by gaining a strong positive
reputation which far exceeds the quality of there product. Brands ensure that they will provide
consumers with a standard quality, and if they fail to do so their reputation is tarnished. Brands
fight for our money ever day and try to stand out by focusing more on innovation to one up the
competition. Brands also largely battle with price, which is a large part in the consumer decision.
The brand and quality must be worth it otherwise customers will be lost to the competition. Brands
protect their consumers simply because they provide an innovative product that differs from the
competitions product. At the same time, they are ensuring that the quality is worth an appropriate
price. This creates a strong and loyal customer base that will surely build the brand a positive
reputation.
2.Strong Brands Drive Share Performance
Powerful market performance has been proven to advance multiple components including the
shareholders, the company itself, and pensions. Organizations that have strongly branded portfolios
have been seen to consistently surpass those organizations

the primary reason for some characteristics of attachment to lead into adulthood. Ainsworth Bell

attachment behavior to the mother is crucial for the relationship among the infantand the mother,
this is not the only relationship that is established among infants. Relationships with close family

Atomic Bomb Dbq
The spring of 1945 marked the completion of the atomic bomb. Created by Franklin Roosevelt in
1939, the Manhattan Project had used 2 billion dollars of taxpayer money to build the atomic
bomb, equating to the most costly government project at the time. Political consequences of such
wasted expenditures if the atomic bomb was never detonated justified dropping the bomb. When
scientists finally witnessed its power in the demonstration at Alamogordo, New Mexico,
newfound repercussions of this weapon of mass destruction propelled the subject to heated debate.
Still, the majority opinion of government officials was to drop the bomb because it would reduce
lives lost. Or at least that is what they told the American people. The alternative plan was invasions
on Kyushu and Honshu, two strategic warfare locations of Japan which were to take place the
coming fall and spring. There was no doubt that many lives would be lost through these invasions.
Hisaichi Terauchi, Field Marshal of Japan, had already announced the execution of 100,000 Allied
prisoners to deter any invasions from taking place. Extreme Japanese war customs also heightened
Americans unwillingness to invade. Gyokusai, the Japanese term for suicide, was considered more
honorable than surrendering. Committed to fighting to the death, Prime Minister Hideki Tojo, in
1944, declared 100 million gyokusai if circumstances were deemed necessary. The entire nation of

Citizen Kane Research Paper. When Discussing The Greatest
Citizen Kane Research Paper When discussing the greatest films of all time, Citizen Kane,
directed by Orson Welles, usually comes up. It s influence in American cinema can still be felt
today, but at the time the film was not released without controversy. The main character in the
movie, Charles Foster Kane, is undeniably based of the real life figure of William Randolph Hearst,
a famous American newspaper publisher. Hearst was very aware of this fact and tried to hinder
the success of Welles picture by denying it any sort of press in his newspapers. Despite the smear
campaign Kane s influence lives on through Welles revolutionary filmic techniques and its presence
in pop culture.
At the beginning of production for Citizen Kane ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mayer helped Hearst by offering to buy the print of the film only to destroy it. Other Hearst
defenders intimidated film curators into not showing the movie. With the attacks were coming left
and right, Arnold Weissberger, the manager of Orson Welles
, sent this memo to him: This is not a
tempest in a teapot, it will not calm down, the forces opposed to us are constantly at work.
Members of The Hearst organization seemed to have it constantly out for Welles, even if direct
orders weren t given from Hearst himself. They repeatedly try to align Welles as a communist,
trying to get him on the Hollywood communist blacklist. The craziest scheme set forward by one
of Hearst s lackeys, was a plot to frame him as a pedophile. Welles was on a post film lecture tour
when a police officer stops him before entering his hotel room. The officer said that a
photographer had planted a fourteen year old girl in his closet, waiting for Welles to enter so he
could take pictures. Welles decided to stay overnight at the train station to avoid all the controversy.
Hearst s campaign to diminish the film s returns were, at the time, somewhat successful. The film
did get released and was the sixth highest grossing film of that year, the studios had expected more.
It went on to receive nine nominations and one win (best screenplay) from the 1941 Academy
Awards.
Citizen Kane as a film is highly heralded, its fresh techniques went on to influence film everywhere.

Global Population Control and Environmental Policies Essay
Global population control and environmental policies are the subject of international controversy.
The rate at which human beings are populating the earth and polluting it are some of the most
important factors that face the global society today. As of March 2009, the world population is
about 6.76 billion. With the high rate of populationincrease, the global population is expected to
reach 9 billion by 2040. With the number of people in the world today and the amount of
consumer goods being purchased and used, these factors present a problem to the state of the
environment in the near future. Over the past 50 years, the world s population has more than
doubled and more than 1 billion of the world s people do not have enough food to... Show more

These figures strike a resemblance to how fast the earth is gaining population.
Many scientists believe that high income nations present a much greater threat to the ecosystem
because there are more people in these countries consuming goods at a faster rate than low income
countries. Ecosystems cannot support high rates of population growth combined with
environmental damage. The carrying capacity of the earth s ecosystems are being surpassed and
the ecosystems of many nations are being ruined at a very fast pace. The rate at which country s
populations are growing, it will not be very long before many of the carrying capacities are
surpassed. Environmental degradation involves taking natural resources from the environment
and re introducing them to the environment in the form of pollution. One of the reasons for
environmental degradation is greediness. People are trying to maintain high levels of wealth
and do not care at what cost to the environment. The perfect example of this would be the current
situation in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The land is being stripped of its natural resources everyday
and is left behind a barren land. The rate at which the air is being polluted in Fort McMurray is
triple that of anywhere else in western Canada. People from all over North America have relocated
to Fort McMurray because of the demand of jobs there. Fort McMurray is

My whole thought process and way of viewing topics has changed, giving me a better understanding when I write. In the beginning of the term I ran into many problems in College Writing I for instance, I was not too familiar with writingin MLA format and struggled reaching the page count. I found myself to procrastinate when papers were assigned making my anxiety levels increase. Despite my struggles as a writer and thinker, I learned how to overcome these obstacles. I learned to be open minded and looking at topics from another perspective. In the beginning of the term I was assigned an essaythat described me as a writer and thinker. With this essay being my first assignment, I was quite stressed with the feeling of failure. After this assignment I learned the importance of the drafting system. After my paper was graded I received it back and noticed multiple mistakes. This was the first step I practiced improving. Writing multiple drafts helped me analysis the material I wrote from another point of view. For example, I was able to eliminate sections that were unrelated from the main point. Building my vocabulary up another step I had focus as a writer and thinker. I used a combination between the dictionary and thesaurus to help me increase my vocabulary. He is the son of the current king, king George the 5th. Early in the movie we are presented with the main problem for the duke, which is his inability to speak publically. They tell us that the duke has something called Demosthenes which is a fear of public speaking. We see this problem very early when the duke is about to hold a speech on behalf of the king, but it is made very clear that he is incapable of doing so. The speech is cancelled early and we are introduced to one of his many speech therapists. The King is tired of his stammer and personally has given up on therapy, but his wife probably sees how hurt the duke is from not being able to speak properly, so she seeks out help and finds Lionel Logue. The duke is convinced to try one last time, and is introduced to Lionel. The first meeting is when the seed of their relationship is planted, or maybe sapling rather. Lionel is very stubborn and strict to the duke; he talks in a way that could be seen as if he is trying to be a smartass. Obviously, as stubborn as the duke is, he doesn t like this. But I personally think their stubbornness is one of the most important reasons as to why their relationship ends up in friendship. Another big thing is also how Lionel doesn t treat the duke as if he has a higher status than him. He simply treats him as an equal, and I think this is new for the duke, and I doubt this impacts the relationship negatively. The duke gets upset during the session and storms out and promises not to come back, but as I said earlier, he gets a vinyl record of himself that Lionel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I personally have had the misfortune of partaking in a class that followed the banking concept, my Biology two class. To this day I still feel the ramifications of having learned bio through the banking concept which has put a significant handicap on me compared to my peers that used the problem inducing method. Our teacher viewed the textbook and his specific way of thinking as the only valid source of information which in order to get a good grade, we, the students had to simply accept. Due to the fact that the class heavily favored a specific way of thinking, and types of information which were viewed as important it dampened the need to find novel ways of learning that suited individual students better, and limited the need to critically think about the subject which would have deepened comprehension. This system also gave students a disillusion that they understood the subject since they had a high grade in the class. My personal disillusion broke after I took my first collage bio assignment. The assignment was on a subject we covered in bio 2, and I vividly remember scoring well on that test, but to my surprise I struggled on the assignment. I came to the realization that I just knew facts about the subject, rather then actually understanding what was happening. The assignments asked questions which required a deep understanding of the actually processes in contrast to knowing where specific items were or what the definition of a term was. One can think of anything that comes to their mind, and they cannot be judged for it because no one knows what that thought is. Accordingly, thoughts, good or bad, are harmless. A thought being innocuous is shown in George Orwell s novel, 1984. In this text, a government attempts to take over the minds of its citizens. This happens if they are known to believe in the wrong things. Wrong beliefs include believing in Big Brother as the nation s leader. Furthermore, Winston, the main character, was down with the so called Big Brother, however, he never stated his wrong beliefs (until revealed at the end). Because his thoughts were not spoken of, the government did not find out that he wanted Big Brother to rule. In effect, Winston was not punished for his beliefs, considering no one knew and could judge him on it. The character of Gertrude is no exception. Gertrude s character and motives, being left ambiguous, have been interpreted in many different ways in various productions of Hamlet. Was she implicit in the death of King Hamlet, or was she merely a clueless bystander? Did she drink the poison as an act of motherly self sacrifice, or was it an accidental tragedy? Zefferelli s Hamlet (1990) and Almereyda s Hamlet (2000) provide two different interpretations on Gertrude s characterization. In particular, there exist substantial differences in their renditions of Gertrude s death while Almereyda portrays her death as a noble suicide, Zefferelli paints her death as a by product of her unceasing lust for pleasure. Furthermore, in that scene, we also notice a difference in Hamlet s attitude towards Gertrude. By analyzing these points along with other scenes within the context of the entire film, we manage to develop an understanding of Almereyda s and Zefferelli s view on Gertrude and how use that to develop the tragic conclusion of the final scene. • 20. Reflection On Professional Development In this short essay my own personal view on professional development will be made evident through reviewing past experiences, allowing recommendations for better practice to occur. Other topics discussed and analysed will be; the structure of the organisation, the effectiveness on leadership and management. My own role within the organisational structurewill be reflected on, considering the impact of skills in practice, further, justifying what I will need for future personal and professional development. Reflective practice is an important tool, as people learn from their own professional experiences (Pascal and Brown, 2009). Reflection provides opportunity for furthering personal and professional development (Nganga, 2011). As it helps to certify knowledge skills and experience that is used within practice (Freire, 1972). Boud, Keogh and Walker (1985) states that, looking through past and present experiences helps with progression in the future. The reflection on practice is finding the weaknesses and overcoming them (Dyer and Taylor, 2012). Johns (2000) situates that a number of models can help to structure a reflection. As they provide a framework that helps develop a deeper understanding and analysis. One reflective model is SchГ¶n (2002) the model of reflection in action and reflection on action. This model is beneficial to use as it involves working on getting to the bottom of what is happening in the experience process, such as; the decisions made and the feelings felt at that time of the event. Reflection on action involves looking over the event and drawing on professional knowledge to understand what happened and why it happened and to develop deeper knowledge (Thompson and Pascal, 2012). However, this is not the only model that could be used. Other models such as Kolb (1984), Gibbs (1988) and Brookfield (1995) have different frameworks to help breakdown an issue. I like to use SchГ¶n (2002) model in the workplace as I am thinking about what I am doing as I am doing it. This does not provide a lot of time to think in depth and to break the event down, leading to not gaining a better understanding of what happened, without this I have no targets to better my professional development. ... Write Your Own Rock Song In most instances, a listener strives to find a song that is simultaneously culturally and socially conscious, while having a listenability that allows the song to be played at any time or any place. For the above song, I took a pointedly socially and culturally approach to the socioeconomic inequalities that persist in the United States, using subtle and themes of freedom and hardship, while concurrently using the not so subtle theme of class differences to convey the differences between social classes in our society. The lyrics provide the potential listener with a juxtaposition of someone who invariably questions their place in society in comparison with an individual who seems to have everything they could ever need or want, hence the inclusion of (Mercedes) Benz in the second verse. The lyrics are written in simple verse form and intentionally have the last two lines of the first verse rhyming with each other, as well as the first two lines of the second verse rhyming with one another. The rhyming is meant to emphasis the restraints that lower class people have in terms of social mobility and the freedom those in upper classes enjoy on a daily basis. Its characters demonstrated that people seek revenge for the things they find valuable to maintain or gain power. • 30. The Changing of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Essay The Changing of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Once upon a time is the predictable beginning of a fairy tale and happily ever after is the ending. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving is a classical myth that defies the conventional standards of a fairy tale. Set in a valley in New England, It s a gothic tale of mystery and suspense that bears no definite ending surrounding the myth of the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow (Heath 1355). The original text created by Irving was intended for the mature reader, a reader who could understand a sense of irony, had knowledge of history, and taste. A distinct wording that dates the more recent text is the delivery of an invitation by a messenger for a quilting party and not a Negro delivering an invitation to a quilting frolic as in the original text. Fifty three sketches are scattered in the 121 pages of Browns edition. The depiction of Ichabod Crane does not match his illustration. He is drawn as handsome as Brom Van Brunt and is not long armed, lanky, and long legged with a pointy nose (Brown 21). The Headless Horseman is illustrated to description having sharp and jagged edges with a frightening look. The three books share the narrative style and ending with only IchabodГўs hat and a crushed pumpkin found and the old country wives retelling the tale of the Headless Horseman (Rackham 101). The media mode The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is presented to audiences has changed. The literary text has been recreated on audio and video. Separate distinct adaptations have been recreated on video and film. Frank Price has noted, Movies have become the short stories of the video age (Dizard 142). • 31. Ghazali Conditional Statement Al Ghazali begins his discussion of theodicy with a conditional statement that will frame the rest of his one hundred line discussion contained in his Ihya text. This conditional statement has as its antecedent a series of eight hypotheticals which are aimed at creating a hypothetical multitude of immensely knowledgeable and wise creatures. The antecedent contains the following hypotheticals: all creatures being as intelligent and knowledgeable as the most intelligent and knowledgeable human, Godgiving each creature the maximum knowledge and wisdom that their souls can handle, God then giving each creature the combined knowledge of all creatures, God revealing to each creature the consequences of things, God teaching each creature the mysteries of the transcendent world, God teaching each creature about divine favor, God making each creature aware of final punishments, God making each creature aware of good and evil and of benefit and harm. All of these components of the antecedent serve to set up a scenario in which there exists a multitude of extremely wise and knowledgeable creatures. These components are presented in lines one through sixteen of the passage quoted by Ormsby on his pages 38 41 of Theodicy in Islamic Thought. If the conditions of the antecedent were met, says Al Ghazali, then another conditional claim would be the case. This second conditional claim, which is the consequent of the first conditional claim and is contained in lines sixteen through nineteen, has as its antecedent God asking all of the now hyper wise and hyper knowledgeable creatures to work together in creating the best possible arrangement of this world and of the transcendent world. If God asked this of the creatures in the hypothetical, Al Ghazali says in lines nineteen through twenty four that the creatures would produce an arrangement that is exactly identical to the way in which God has arranged His creation as it truly is. Al Ghazali, in lines twenty four through twenty seven goes so far as to say that the product would not have subtracted or added as little as a gnat s wing and that it would not have altered the position of a single particle of dust. The product of the creatures labors also would not differ from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This led them to build their own communities and remain among their own. The story How it Feels to be Colored Me by Zora Neale Hurston was written in 1928, about her moving from a community of her own kind to neighbors who discriminated against her and her family. Though a person s environment can affect how they see himself/herself or how others might perceive him/her, difficult times does not exactly mean that a person will become bitter or vengeful about it. In the beginning of Zora s story, she stated a strong quote that solidified her black identity. She said, I am colored but I offer nothing in the way of extenuating circumstances except the fact that I am the only Negro in the United States whose grandfather on the mother s side was not an Indian chief (Hurston, 1928). She goes on to mention that the only encounters that she had from native whites were the ones passing through the town of Eatonville, Florida that she would wave to. Zora saw no color. The I is no longer Zora, and Zora becomes a she (Johnson, 1985). In a way, there is a theme of adaptability. This move did not break her spirit. This is known because she says that, I am not tragically colored (Hurston, 1928). Zora makes it known that she is not ashamed to be colored. Created by Franklin Roosevelt in 1939, the Manhattan Project had used 2 billion dollars of taxpayer money to build the atomic bomb, equating to the most costly government project at the time. Political consequences of such wasted expenditures if the atomic bomb was never detonated justified dropping the bomb. When scientists finally witnessed its power in the demonstration at Alamogordo, New Mexico, newfound repercussions of this weapon of mass destruction propelled the subject to heated debate. Still, the majority opinion of government officials was to drop the bomb because it would reduce lives lost. Or at least that is what they told the American people. The alternative plan was invasions on Kyushu and Honshu, two strategic warfare locations of Japan which were to take place the coming fall and spring. There was no doubt that many lives would be lost through these invasions. Hisaichi Terauchi, Field Marshal of Japan, had already announced the execution of 100,000 Allied prisoners to deter any invasions from taking place. Extreme Japanese war customs also heightened Americans unwillingness to invade. Gyokusai, the Japanese term for suicide, was considered more honorable than surrendering. Committed to fighting to the death, Prime Minister Hideki Tojo, in 1944, declared 100 million gyokusai if circumstances were deemed necessary. The entire nation of Japan was prepared to die. It s influence in American cinema can still be felt today, but at the time the film was not released without controversy. The main character in the movie, Charles Foster Kane, is undeniably based of the real life figure of William Randolph Hearst, a famous American newspaper publisher. With the attacks were coming left and right, Arnold Weissberger, the manager of Orson Welles , sent this memo to him: This is not a tempest in a teapot, it will not calm down, the forces opposed to us are constantly at work. Members of The Hearst organization seemed to have it constantly out for Welles, even if direct orders weren t given from Hearst himself. They repeatedly try to align Welles as a communist, trying to get him on the Hollywood communist blacklist. The craziest scheme set forward by one of Hearst s lackeys, was a plot to frame him as a pedophile. Welles was on a post film lecture tour when a police officer stops him before entering his hotel room. The officer said that a photographer had planted a fourteen year old girl in his closet, waiting for Welles to enter so he could take pictures. Welles decided to stay overnight at the train station to avoid all the controversy. Hearst s campaign to diminish the film s returns were, at the time, somewhat successful. The film did get released and was the sixth highest grossing film of that year, the studios had expected more. It went on to receive nine nominations and one win (best screenplay) from the 1941 Academy Awards.
