Genetic Predictions in the Fruit Fly

Genetic Predictions in the Fruit Fly The Drosophila melanogaster is a fruit fly with a very short
life cycle. They can be winged or wingless, and have red eyes or white eyes. The different options
are called alleles. Alleles are the variants of a specific gene, and one is received from each parent
on each chromosome. ( What Are Dominant and Recessive? ). It was chosen to use winged
females and wingless males to predict the offspring in this experiment. The winged allele is
dominant, meaning it only needs one allele to physically appear. The wingless allele is recessive,
which gets covered up by the dominant allele ( Fruit Fly Genetics ). Each trait has two alleles in
the flies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

16) After another week (day 14) the Fв‚Ѓ generation flies will hatch from their larva. Anesthetize
them by repeating steps 10 14.

20) Dispose of the rest of the flies in the morgue.
21) In the next few days, continue to anesthetize and count the Fв‚Ѓ generation flies in the original

22) After the flies have been counted, discard them in the morgue so they are not counted the next
day.
23) On day 21 (three weeks from the start date) finish counting the Fв‚Ѓ flies.

Fullmer supports his ideas with plenty of proof from the book and has an excellent

agrees that although George and Lennie s dream to have a farm is unreachable their friendship
is what makes the story so appealing to readers. Topham relates George and Lennie s troubles to
those of the modern day world. He writes how the friendship between the two boys is a shining
example of how even though the world is harsh at times, love and friendship can still exist.
Topham gives the example of George and Lennie s friendship as support of this idea. Topham

The Role Of Radical Colonists In Boston, Massachusetts
Boston, Massachusetts The home of radical colonists. The colony whose self ruling of 70 years
would end with British rule in 1691. My family, the Wright s, were among the first Puritans to
arrive in Massachusetts in the seventeenth century. They came here searching for religious freedom
and established a church for future generations. Since then, our colony has undergone several
changes. Our family has shifted away from religion and we are more involved with trade and
commerce. As Boston expands into a trading colony, the British would enforce more and more
regulations. Several colonists speak of unimaginable, radical ideas that seem too childish to believe
it would happen to our colonies. Rumors are spreading about unrest among colonists... Show more

Most our prime resources were being heavily taxed on, like paper and our precious tea. If we had
never experienced a financial crisis, we were definitely experiencing one now. All the different
competing general stores were competing for lower prices just to get the items off the shelves,
even if it meant selling without a profit. For our store, we consumed the more expensive items
and sold the rest at such low prices that barely allowed us to buy new products to replace the
empty shelves. The most part of this act came in October. Several Bostonians began boycotting
British luxury goods. This hurt our profits even more since most of our products were labeled as
luxurious. My parents were contemplating what we would do with our family store. Father,
having more of a sentimental connection to the store, said to continue doing what we have been
doing to see how long we can last. However, mother came up with a more logical solution: we
would close the store for the time being and reopen when times get better and father would get a
job that would get him more income. Mother would stay with me and Alice and do the domestic
chores. What would become of the Wrights and the rest of

Summary and Reflection of Nihon Furisode Hajime by...
On Sunday, March 9, 2014, I had a great opportunity to watch Nihon Furisode Hajime, a Kabuki
play held in Kabukiza theatre in Tokyo, Japan. The production was written by the pen name
Chikamatsu Monzaemon whose actual name is Nobumori Sugomori. The play was formerly
created for the puppet theatre, Bunraku, and was first staged in Osaka in 1718. Also, it was first
performed in Kyoto after it has immediately reformed to Kabukiduring the same month.
Nihon Furisode Hajime is a fictional story about the fight between an eight headed serpent and
Susanoo. As a yearly ceremonial, the townspeople brought Princess Inada to the Izumo Mountain,
the site where the annual sacrifice for the serpent is dedicated. The serpent, disguised as an ugly
princess, was attracted to jars full of sake before she was able to attack Princess Inada. Knowing
that the sake wine will weaken the serpent, a hero named Susanoo used set up the jars of sake wine
as a trap against the serpent. Susanoo then attacked and defeated the drunken eight headed serpent
and saved Princess Inada.
There are three main characters in the production. The first main character of the play is Princess
Iwanaga. She is a jealous woman whose spirit has become the eight headed serpent. Due to her
insecurities of being called ugly, she threatens and demands the villagers to send her every year the
body of the most beautiful girl in town. Another important character named Princess Inada is a
young and beautiful princess of a

Ravers Persuasive Essay
According to ravers, raves are an evolutionary type of party that everyone should experience. In a
society that is constantly changing, raves have come to be a part of evolution. It s been told that
raves started out as a secretive late after hour parties held in clubs, commercial buildings, and
even private homes for invited guests only. Its popularity did not uncover until the early 1990 s.
Drugs are a big part of raves, approximately 90% of the people that attended raves are under the
influence of some kind of drug. In the very beginning acid and marijuana were the most common
drugs until the appearance of ecstasy. Ravers simply call ecstasy by its short name E or X. The
market price ranges from $15 to as high as $25 per pill, which... Show more content on

They feel they are still able to control their negative and positive influence; meaning that they
were willing to do things that they felt comfortable with. Unlike being under the influence of
alcoholic beverages, ravers are able to maintain their sexual behavior because they are still intact
with their conscience. Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, and the Grateful Dead all admitted to using
LSD in the 60 s. LSD causes extreme changes in mood, anywhere from a spaced out bliss to
intense terror, are also experienced. The worst part is that the LSD user is unable to tell which
sensations are created by the drug and which are part of reality. The sixties saw harder and more
dangerous drugs like heroin began finding their popularity in the music scene. In 1970 Jimi
Hendrix died of from choking on his vomit after a night of partying and an excessive amount of
sleeping pills; also that year, Janis Joplin was found dead of a heroin overdose. Jim Morrison was
found dead in a Paris apartment bathtub in 1971. Whereas the psychedelic movement embraced
freedom, creativity, and love, the Seventies culture was darker, and in some ways more

Summary Of Bridget Bishop s Witch Trial
In the document Words of the Bewitched, Bridget Bishop s witch trial takes place in Salem in
the year of 1692. Bishop is accused of being an evil witch and having harmed others on several
occasions. The document goes on to state that little evidence is needed of her being a witch for it
is evident and notorious to all beholders. Witnesses and victims begin to testify, declaring Bishop
guilty of threats and physical force to have them sign a book, the devil s book. As the trial is
occurring, it becomes apparent that the victims present are extremely upset, and tortured by the
mere presence of Bishop. It was noted that by simply casting her eyes on them they would strike
down into fits and would only be calmed by her touch. To add to the drama of the trial, a confessed
witch, testifies that Bishop tormented her after her confession.... Show more content on

As the testimony continues, Bishop is accused of haunting various men at night as they slept,
killing a child, and bewitching animals. Adding to this evidence, a group of jury women testify
having found a preternatural teat , or an abnormal extra nipple, but having checked again, it had
disappeared. All this made this one of the most memorable witch trial that happened in Salem.
Bishop was later convicted and hanged. Bridget Bishop was one of the 20 women killed and
declared a witch by the Salem court. These were a direct consequence of the Puritan lifestyle
occurring in the seventeenth century, and this influence in their justice system. In Chapter 4,
Puritans strict interpretation of a godly society is underlined by the Salem witch trials. Puritan life
was heavily shaped by the church and its Christian beliefs. There laws were also. Members of this

Arundel Partners Investment Analysis Essay
Arundel Partners Investment Analysis
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Background
The proposed business venture, Arundel Partners, is an investment group which would purchase
the sequels rights associated with all films produced by 1 or more selected U.S. movie
production studios for a specified period of time, or a specified number of films. As your
investment analysts, our goal is to assess the value of the sequel rights to allow a determination of
the value of the overall investment as well as a reasonable price per film for the sequel rights.
Arundel Partners plans to pay to obtain a guarantee to the ownership ... Show more content on

A sequel is typically released to theaters 3 years after the orignal film s initial release. Sequel
rights also expire 3 years from the films initial release. Note that Arundel must declare, based on
the profitability of the first release, whether or not it will produce the sequel, prior to the expiration
of the rights at year 4.
RECOMMENDATION
Based on our valuation of the investment, as outlined below in the Analysis portion of the report,
we have determined a per movie value of $8.9 million when considering purchasing the rights to
the entire portfolio of 99 movies analyzed in the sample data. Based on production of 10 sequels,
the per movie value of the portfolio would be $52.25 million. Our calculations based on the
hypothetical portfolio is that Arundel Partners should make this investment as long as the present
value of the expected cash flows from the sequel revenues exceeds the cost of production plus the
cost of the investment. Depending on what value a studio will accept as payment per sequel, there
appears to be significant profitability in the investment.
ANALYSIS
As with all options there is more potential profit if the value of the underlying asset is very
volatile. Purchasing sequel rights prior to release of the films

Billy s Top Trait By Billy Essay
Throughout the semester, Billy took on a vocal yet non leadership role. The biggest drawback of
Billy s participation was his frequent absences. Billy s top trait according to StrengthQuest is
Competition. I think Billy strongly showed Competition in both positive and negative ways. In
both BizCafe and other minor activities, competition acted as a motivator for Billy, being more
engaged when more was on the line. This was a benefit in direct competition, like the dice
stacking game early on in the semester. The competition with others helped Billy focus,
brainstorming new ideas and strategies to defeat the other groups. However, this became a
drawback when less was on the line. In more straightforward activities, like creating an
advertisement for hiring employees, Billy would be less creative and less engaged when there was
no competition. In non competitive scenarios, Billy would complete his part of the workand
contribute, but he would be less driven and less creative.
While displaying some traits of Initiator Contributor, I think Billy s main role in our group was
Energizer. Having a gregarious personality, Billy naturally adds energy to group work. This was
most evident in highly collaborative group work like weekly BizCafe decisions. When Billy was
in class and engaged, he helped us stay on topic and try to find the best solution. He did this
primarily by supporting the strategies of others. A recent example of this was our decision for
week eleven in BizCafe. When

Concrete Slab Foundations
A home s foundation is the bottom most layer that provides the support for a home. Depending
on the part of the country, the size of the home and when it was built, the type of foundation may
vary. Concrete slab foundations are the most common; some are built to sustain crawl spaces or
basements. Other foundation types are pier and beam, pile and spread foundations. Regardless
of the type, all will require at some point foundation repair. Signs of a foundation in need of
repair include cracks in the walls, bricks, drywall, tile or even the foundation itself. Other signs
are sticky doorjambs and windows, sloping floors, cracking or separating chimneys or fascia
board. In some cases, mold may accumulate in the cracks. Whether too much or not enough, water
is the main culprit in foundation repair cases. Over saturated soil expands pushing into the home
and foundation and over time loses stability, causing the foundation to again move and crack. Dry
soil on the other hand contracts, pulling away from the perimeter of the home, leaving little
support for the foundation, causing shifts and cracks. When foundation problems begin to appear
it is crucial to repair them as soon as possible. Early foundation repairs may prevent further
problems down the road and save... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

your research, then ask for referrals to obtain customer insight into the company and process. Ask
the companies about warranties, guarantees, how they handle unexpected findings that increase the

and what to expect about the time of the project and any pre project work you will need to do.
Some repairs require that mantels and walls are emptied or basements cleared

Analgesia Case Study
Given the difficulty in finding the Holy Grail of behavioural pain scales for neonates,
investigators have begun to look for objective physiologic tools. These pursuits have included
regional oxygen saturation in the brain (as in near infrared spectroscopy), EEG, heart rate
variability, skin conductance and neurohumoral responses. Although each appears to be an
objective metric that may reflect the neonate s response to a painful stimulus, some of the metrics
under investigation are invasive, others reflect a time course that may not correspond to the level
of stimulation, and others remain imprecise. (201)

Parenteral morphine is usually given intravenously either by intermittent dosing, continuous
infusion or in a nurse controlled analgesia (NCA) regimen. (211) Subcutaneous morphine is also
used. The pharmacokinetics and clinical use of morphine in neonates have been reviewed
extensively. In neonates 1 7 days of age, the clearance of morphine is markedly diminished, being
30 % of that of older infants and children. As a result, the elimination half life is approximately 1.7
fold greater than in older children . Infusion rates and dose intervals must therefore be adjusted
according to both age and weight of the neonate, to avoid accumulation. (212)
Fentanyl
Fentanyl is a synthetic, high potency (100x morphine) lipid soluble opioid; its main use is for
intraoperative analgesia where its rapid onset, short initial half life, and cardiovascular stability at
larger doses are an advantage. Fentanyl is also used by infusion in ICU, and it has some
advantages for procedural pain owing to its rapid onset. High dose fentanyl has been associated
with chest wall rigidity and subsequent difficulty in ventilation. Accordingly, large doses are
usually given only when respiration is controlled. (213)
Remifentanil
Remifentanil is an ultra short acting fentanyl analogue that is metabolized by the ubiquitous tissue
and plasma esterases. This characteristic has obvious advantages in

I.SUBJECT The Sword in the Stone, by T. H. White, follows the adventures of The Wart, a boy
growing up in Medieval England. The Wart lives at the Castle of the Forest Sauvage with his

encounters an old man by the name of Merlyn who possesses magical capabilities. Merlyn offers

THEME T. H. White s The Sword in the Stone shows how the power of knowledge trumps
physical power. Merlyn, who is the predominant advocate for education, states that The best thing

mind can never exhaust... never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting (White 228).
Physical power can be limited and unreliable, whereas knowledge is infinitely expansive. The Wart
owes his success to the insight provided to him by Merlyn, and his ability to use it in juxtaposition
with his physical strengths. Merlyn utilizes unconventional means to teach The Wart, such as
transforming him into animals or sending him on quests. During one of the first lessons, Merlyn

desires for The Wart to learn through his own affairs, thus developing a sense of independence. Due
to Merlyn s idiosyncratic means of instruction, The Wart gains experience and is able to formulate
his own thoughts. This subsequently allows for his education to flourish, and for future

Mass Migrations During The Harlem Renaissance
The mass migrations of blacks into Harlem happened around the early 1900 as living conditions
worsen in other parts of the country. Specifically, the KKK in South Carolina, and racial
segregation and biases across the south enforced by the Jim Crow Laws, forced black families to go
north in search of better housing, jobs and education for their children, and more so, to move away
from a culture of lynching and violence. They did not anticipate the violent situations they would
face in the North. Due to discrimination they were pushed further and further up Manhattan and

Harlem was also the place where spirituality evolved for the African Americans. They began to

racial disorders occurring all over the country. In Harlem, the blacks were reactive and as a result,
there were violent out breaks between blacks and whites, and the Harlem Renaissance at one point
was halted because people were afraid to travel to Harlem. Once the Harlem Renaissance was under

achievements, and was a representation of a modernist vision of a new social and cultural

Comparison Of Harrison Bergeron And Harrison Bergeron
The story Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and the short film 2081 directed by Chandler
Tuttle have many similarities and differences. Both the story and the short film are about a boy
named Harrison Bergeron who escaped from jail and ran off to a theater. He ended up in jail for
tearing off his handicaps in public. In their community, people have handicaps in order to be
equal in every way. In the short film, Hazel and George Bergeron, Harrison s parents, switched
roles. Harrison also put a bomb under the theater where the ballerinas were performing. Harrison
was not even wearing glasses, a red nose, he did not have bad teeth, he even had all his hair and
his eyebrows. In these stories people start to realize that the equality they ve always wanted is
dangerous and in some ways torture. In the story, Hazel and George were both sitting in their
living room and watching a ballet performance on TV. Then George gets up and goes to the
kitchen and Hazel is alone. A news report comes on the TV and it s about Harrison. The ballerina
explained that Harrison escaped jail and that people should avoid him. The ballerina stated If
you see this boy, do not I repeat do not try to reason with him. (2) In the film this scene changes
in some ways. In the film Hazel is the one going to the kitchen to wash dishes and George stays
to watch the performance. He forgets everything he sees in a matter a twenty seconds while
watching Harrison live on TV. Even though he forgets everything he still has flashbacks from
when Harrison was carried out of their house. These changes affect the story because it was from
two different point of views. In Hazel s point of view some things don t make sense in general.
Since her brain is normal, unintelligent, she forgets everything. George is smart and that is why he
has a radio transmitter in his ear that sends out noise so that he can forget things. In the film
Harrison puts a bomb under the theater where the ballerinas were performing. The bomb could
have been fake but it made the film more intense. Harrison states ... there s a bomb beneath this
theater and there s a detonator in my hand... minute 9.50 9.58. He also states I am the greatest

The Kabuki Theater
Although it started out as just another type of dance, Kabuki eventually emerged into an important
and fascinating theatre where elaborate makeup and costumes combined to put on entertaining
performances for audiences throughout the centuries. Kabuki started out as a style of dance in the
early sixteenth century, also known as the Edo period. Kabukiis an exclusive type of theater in
which only males can act on stage. For over 400 years, women have only been allowed in the
audience and not on stage. But ironically, a woman named Izumo Okuni along with her female
troupe originally created the theatre. Okuni, who may have come from the shrine of Izumo, set up

The Demon Queller Glare makeup is so powerful that supposedly the actor can make a glaring
pose to scare away any evil spirits. Based on the Samurai pattern, this makeup is accomplished
by leaving the eyelids white but framing the eyes above and below with black lines. The
makeup emphasizes the actor s eyes as much as possible, and makes them seem to grow wider
and wider as he stares (Agostino 4). Sometimes actors draw in eyes on their closed eyelids to
make them look even bigger for the ideal glaring pose (Heinrichs 118). In earlier days, the
Kabuki actor would apply Kumadori makeup with his fingers so he could follow his bone
structure, outlining the right places to make it look even bolder. Kumadori makeup is still very
popular today. Expressed through bold and dramatic designs painted with fingers and brushes, it
remains the center of attention in Kabuki. Common characters in Kabuki theatre each have basic
makeup colors and patterns that they wear often, which each color representing a different
emotion (Agostino 5). The colors most commonly used are red, black, pale green, light blue, and
indigo, where red stands for anger, black represents fear, pale green stands for calmness, light blue
represents sadness, pink indicates youth, and indigo stands for gloominess. Also, in Kumadori
makeup different shades of white are used to represent class, age, and even gender of the character
(Heinrichs 119). A lot of important costumes in Kabuki

Factors Affecting Patients With Chronic Idiopathic Neck Pain
1.Title: Does the number of visits of mobilizations influence the MCID* on pain improvement in
patients with chronic idiopathic neck pain A cross sectional study?
*MCID= Minimum clinically important difference
2.The specific aim of this cross sectional study is to reduce cost and improve pain outcome in
patients with chronic idiopathic neck pain (CINP). To do this, the study will examine whether the
number of visits of mobilization (hypothesis) affect the MCID on pain reduction for patients to
begin exercising. In addition, the study will also identify which patients are likely to respond or not
to mobilization based on their conditioned pain modulation (CPM) profile? (research questions).
These findings could potentially cut costs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Providing 1 session of joint mobilization has been shown to immediately improve the impaired
CPM in those with knee osteoarthritis (Courtney et al., 2016) compared to placebo.
Some patients with chronic pain related to knee osteoarthritis have impaired CPM while others do
not (Courtney et al 2016)
However, because Courtney et al did not apply joint mobilization to those whose CPM is not
impaired, it is unclear if joint mobilization is or is not effective in changing pain in those with
normal functioning CPM
More importantly, it is not clear whether the positive results Courtney et al 2016 achieved in
chronic pain related to knee osteoarthritis carries over to patients with CINP.
4. Scope of the problem
The high cost of CINP may be related to the fact that these patients typically seek on average 5
providers over 21 visits every year and receive largely ineffective treatments (Carlesso et al., 2014).
Heat, NSAID, exercise, cold and spinal manipulation/mobilization are the most common treatments
received (Goode et al., 2010).
Only exercise and spinal manipulation/mobilization, however, have good evidence for effectiveness
based on multiple systematic reviews and meta analyses.
In fact, current practice guidelines suggest combining exercise and spinal mobilization for better
pain and functional outcomes than mobilization or exercise alone.

The following memo is a daily activity list for your 6 month pregnancy timeline consisting of three
activities that positively affect your infant s future development. Along with the daily activity list in

Second daily activity, start up a low impact exercise routine to obtain pre pregnancy weight. This
will help both mentally and physically once you are closer to your pre pregnancy weight. The lack
of physical activity contributes to excess weight gain during pregnancy and weight retention during
postpartum. Many gyms have child care, and as your child ages this will help him or her fine tune
attachment social skills early.
Third daily activity, have some human interaction and talk about your feelings. Set time aside
each day to talk with your partner, so that you both can reconnect. Find a support group, there are
many women experiencing the same thing right now. Listening to someone else s version of
postpartum depression and sharing your own can work wonders. Seek out a meeting in your area
and give it a try. You may just meet that mommy friend you need. One on one therapy can also
help you discover where the depression is coming from, and how to take steps each week to heal.

therapist who has kids

Pros And Cons For Gun Control
un control is a very controversial topic especially in today s society; whether gun control is good
or bad is a very talked about subject especially when it comes to the United States. This is a very
touchy subject because guns are a part of a lot of people s daily lives. People that are anti gun
control believe that no one should be able to put any restrictions on guns. They believe that people
should be able to buy a firearmjust like a pair of boots or a tool. They also believe that if someone
were able to take away the firearms from the law abiding citizens that just leaves firearms in the
hands of people that do not abide by the law and leaves them defenseless. In 1791 our founding

If someone can take the firearms away from everyone then crime will drop. When the United
Kingdom started to put gun control into motion all it did was bring crime to an all time high. In
the United Kingdom when the firearm laws were put into place the number of firearms
decreased in total, but the number of violent crimes and firearm increased dramatically. In 1996
a man from Scotland walked into a school shooting 16 students and their teacher before finally
killing himself, this led to the Firearms Act of 1997. This new act banned possession of any

The crime fiction texts A scandal in Bohemia and A scandal in Belgravia explore the historical and
cultural position of dominant social values and beliefs in society, shaped by the culture and time of
which the texts were written. The audience is invited to consider the ways in which the privileged
ideological assumptions which inform our reading, are important to the meaning we make from the
text through the dominant social values at the time. The way in which the texts represents people,

Explain the Mechanism Behind the Money Multiplier. How Can...
This essay will explain and illustrates the key mechanism behind the money multiplier and explore
how monetary authorities can influence its size and affect the money supply in the economy.
Firstly, an introduction on money measure will be presented. Secondly, the mechanism behind
money multiplier will be presented by using equations to explain the cyclical changes in the
multiple factor. Thirdly, the examination of the moneymultiplier in the current economic climate
will be put forward. Fourthly, an explanation on the open market operation, discount window and
the reserve ratio will be presented to convey the influence in the size of money supply. Finally, this

Therefore, the monetary base holds ВЈ180. Similarly, if another customer deposits ВЈ400, the bank
would have to reserve ВЈ80 and may convert the remaining ВЈ320 into loans or purchase
government securities (Howell Bain, 2008). Nevertheless, it should be noted that the change in the
money multiplier depends on the reserve requirement ratio and the public s willingness to deposit
currency (Vasudevan, 2003). For instance, when the depositor keeps less currency it will have an
effect on deposit as it will be multiplying more. In comparison, if the depositor holds more currency
then less multiple deposits will occur (Ireland, 2010).
Conversely, the banking system are required to keep a portion of the depositor funds for
precautionary circumstances and the rest may be converted in to loans, thereby increasing the
available cash by a factor that is a multiple of the initial deposit (Business Dictionary, 2010). For
example, assume that the money supply in the economy is ВЈ900 billion, the total deposits are
ВЈ500 billion and the reserved required is 12%.
The calculation for mm is the following:
In this example above, a ВЈ1 increase in Monetary Base/high powered money leads to a ВЈ2.20
increase in Money supply. However, according to Vasudevan (2003) states the changes in reserve
requirements can be captured in the multiplier. The money multiplier tends to rise when

Alternative Minimum Tax
The alternative minimum tax (AMT) is an income tax levied by the federal government on
corporations and individuals. Congress enacted the AMT as an alternate form of income taxation to
ensure that taxpayers with substantial economic income cannot use exclusions, deductions, and
credits to avoid a significant part of their taxliability. Because corporations are allowed to reduce
their income taxliability, (sometimes to zero) with exclusions, deductions and credits; IRC Section
55 requires many corporations to add back some of these deductions and credits and pay tax on the
recalculated amount.

The tax base for the corporate AMT is the alternative minimum taxable income (AMTI), it is
broader than the regular corporate income tax base. The AMTI is computed by adding tax
preference and adjustment items to regular taxable income. The most common tax preference
item is interest from private activity bonds. This preference item always increases a corporation s
AMTI. Private activity bonds are basically allowed to be issued as municipal bonds because
projects conducted by private corporations can serve the public need or improve the economy of a
state or local municipality. For example projects funded with private activity bonds include airport,
docks, parking garages and manufacturing plants.
Excluding interest on private activity bonds from the computation of AMT can greatly benefit state
and local government by encouraging the construction of manufacturing facilities, rebuilding
transportation infrastructure, and the creation of many

Why School Report Cards Merit A Failing Grade Essay
Introduction The purpose of this paper is to serve as a critique of the education brief entitled,
Why School Report Cards Merit a Failing Grade, written by Kenneth R. Howe and Kevin Murray
of The University of Colorado Boulder for the National Education Policy Center. The purpose of
the brief was to examine the practice by stategovernments of developing school accountability
ratings systems, which rate schools across their respective states with an A F, report card style
grade as a form of institutional accountability in the public domain. The authors of the brief were
attempting to highlight some of the purported reasons behind the creation of these systems and
systematically critique those arguments to demonstrate the failing of these accountability systems
to meet their intended purposes. The primary analysis comes from examining the A F systems for
validityacross three areas; validity as a measure of school quality, validity as a policy instrument,
and validity in terms of providing a democratic framework for measuring student success.
Summary
Howe and Murray begin their analysis with an overview of the background related to A F grading
systems in the United States, which use a variety of student data ranging from standardized test
scores and growth levels to student attendance and graduation rates to evaluate a school s success or
failure as an institution. According to the authors, A F grading systems create three types of
accountability, direct or bureaucratic,

Sociological Approach To Deviance Essay
Exploration into the social world embarks upon the various methods and functions that are
responsible for constructing the concise understandings of sociology. The concept of deviance
configures into the sociological outlook through the emancipation of social control. Hence, the
factors associated with deviant objectives immerse among the ways in which sociologyis conducted.
The enormity of sociological concepts happens to be broken down into three definite approaches,
which allows the fundamentals to be processed via perspective. Deviance, then can be explained
within these methods to procure the effects that each form has on social contexts. Therefore, the
approaches to sociology and the forms of deviance determine significant elements in the societal
atmosphere.
As sociologists divulge into the complexities of their studies, there engages a pattern of similarities
among differing areas of sociology. By close examination of the repetitive patterns, a specific
method evolves for researching and understanding that category of societal contexts. Therefore, an
evolution of three different approaches were conducted in order to achieve the extent of
information available in sociology. Strategic methods allowed multiple perspectives to examine the
same content while reaching various objectives, hence acquiring numerous solutions to a singular
issue. With the availability of a range of solutions came forth the sociological approaches: Positivist

Too many standards: Cynthia Schmeiser, president and chief operating officer of ACT s education

State learning standards are often too wide and not deep enough. [High school teachers] are trying
to cover too much ground more ground than colleges deem necessary in the limited time they have
with students. (Olson, 2007, p. 20) 2. Standards that are not of equal importance: ACT s 2005 06
National Curriculum study showed that college instructors largely disapproved of their state s
academic content standards. Two thirds of those who responded said their state standards prepared
students poorly or very poorly for college level work. High school teachers, on the other hand, felt
differently, with a majority responding that their state standards prepared students well or very well
for college level work (Marklein, 2007). Not all state standards are of equal importance, and what
students get tested on may not be what is most important. 3. Standards that lack unidimensionality:

The Other Boleyn Girl
The Other Boleyn Girl It is said that we are doomed to repeat history if we do not learn from it.
Let us hope that history does not repeat itself with the era of the Tudors. King Henry the VIII
ruled according to his own wants and desires. He would favor people with great gifts or on a
whim take their life. His rule was a time of tip toeing and avoiding displeasing him or The Church.
Unfortunately, in order to learn from history, its stories and facts must retold truthfully and

How Did The Romans Use Iron In Assyrians
The discovery of iron opened up an immense amount of possibilities to numerous empires in the

led the Assyrian military to dominance, because the Assyrians were the first to use iron weaponry,
iron was stronger than the materials used by their enemies, and the wide range of weaponry that
iron enabled. The Assyrian military had a massive advantage over other civilizations, because they

During both the Early Pleistocene and the Middle Pleistocene, we see a number of hominins that
paved the way to modern human development (Boaz Ciochon, 2004). One of these hominins is
Homo erectus (Lewis et al., 2013). According to Lewis (2013) while it is probable that they first
developed developed in Africa, it also . . . seems likely that H. erectus first arose in East Africa
and then very quickly migrated to other continents ; however, it is hard to prove this hypothesis
as new fossils are found (p. 236). While H. erectus characteristics vary across continents, the
majority share the same range in body size, brains, and cranial shape. H. erectus adults had robust
bodies weighing more than 100 lbs. and measuring 5 6 tall. The range in H. erectus brain size is
700 to 1250 cm(^3). The most distinct characteristic of H. erectus is its cranial shape. The cranium
displays a thick cranial bone, large brow ridges, a pointy nuchal torus at the posterior, low forehead

Using Inexpensive Equipment For Computer Based Music Creation
I.0 Introduction
There is a large variety of equipment available in today s market for computer based music
creation. If money is not an issue, the technology can give scope to endless possibilities.
However, if funds are limited, you can still produce a respectable piece of music using inexpensive
equipment. The nature of hardware and software needed is determined by the capacity in which
you are intending to use it for and what you are aiming to achieve.
This report will be based on the type of equipment required for the hobbyist with limited funds, to
set up a bedroom studio, focusing on the production of digital music. The information will be
collected from a range of online sources, in order to investigate hardware and software ... Show

The laptops portability and size is also beneficial to the user of a small bedroom where space is
limited, but the risks of damage are increased and can be costly to repair, whereas the standalone
desktop is considered more durable.
Most desktops offer a better price to performance ratio (Kb.wisc.edu, 2014), they are also the
most versatile in terms of upgrading. Although it is possible in many cases to replace the RAM
and hard drive in a laptop, a desktop allows for all the main components of a computer
(including the motherboard and CPU) to be upgraded when they become outdated or need to be
replaced. Operating system An operating system or OS is a software program that enables the
computer hardware to communicate and operate with the computer software. Without a computer
operating system, a computer and software programs would be useless (Computerhope.com, 2014,
online).
The most common and reputable OS used in computers is Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS.
Internet research suggests that many of the latest DAW software companies recommend Windows
7 or 8 for Microsoft and OS X 10.8/10.9 for Mac.
Microsoft Windows offers the most flexibility in terms of computer choice, as it is not limited to
one brand, whereas MacOS will only run on Apple computers. Subsequently, a Windows PC will
enable the user on a budget to purchase a computer with the technical specifications needed to run
the DAW software at a lower price than an

A Lesson Before Dying, by Ernest J. Gaines Essay
While we all would agree that racism is immoral and has no place in a modern society, that was
not the case in the U.S. in the 1940s. At the time African Americans were treated as second class
citizens, it was made near impossible for them to vote, and they were discriminated in many
ways including in education, socially and in employment. It was a time in which segregation
and racism perforated the laws and society, a time in which African Americans were separate but
equal, segregation was legal and in full force. Apartheid was also everywhere from the books to
in society. Blacks were not truly seen as equal as they were seen the the lesser of the two and it
very much felt that way. Blacks were oppressed in many ways including having... Show more

The stance that is taken in the court to criminalize Jefferson is detrimental because they make
Jefferson lose his dignity as a man. Jefferson is compared to something that is seen as a rodent,
and taking such a stance makes Jefferson lose all the hope that he has. When the defense
referred to Jefferson as a boy and not a man, jefferson was being talked down by the side that was
supposed to be his own. This a Man? No, not I. I would all it a boy and a fool (Gaines 7).
Jefferson is being talked to like a boy, a fool. It is implied that he is inexperienced and he didn t
know what he was doing as much as a toddler wouldn t. While the defense was on his side, it
referred to him as a fool because of the color of his skin. The defense is making out Jefferson to
be an innocent bystander and in the process making jefferson seem to be a manchild. It is not
only making Jefferson seem like he was too idiotic to move out of the way, he is also being
dehumanized. I would just as soon put a hog in the electric chair as this (Gaines ). When the
defense compares Jefferson to a hog, he is saying that Jefferson is just as insignificant. It s
dehumanizing in that Jefferson is made out to be an insignificant low life. Jefferson s defence is
getting a point across, but it s not the right one because I don t want them to kill no hog, she said.
I want a man to go to that chair, on his own two feet. (Gaines 13) In this quote Miss Emma wants
Jefferson to know why he is

Immigration And Globalization
Introduction How does immigration impact an individual s likelihood to identify with a national
identity, or a larger global identity? Does immigration, a component of globalization, impact one
identity more than another? These questions are increasingly relevant with the well documented
rise of European nationalist parties, but there are still questions about whether these are empirically
connected phenomena.
Immigration, a facet of globalization, is widely discussed, as well as other impacts of globalization,
confirming the importance of this trend (Ferreira, Pessoa, Dos Santos, 2016; Merdzhanovska,
2015; Czaika, de Haas, 2014; Borchert, Yotov, 2017; Zolberg, Woon 1999; Ceobanu, Escandell

Scholars agree that it is a process that crosses country borders through the sharing and flow of
goods, services, economics, culture, technology, and more (Guillen, 2001; Held et al, 1999;
Castells, 1996; Kobrin, 1997; Gilpin, 1987; Knight, 2004).
An abundance of literature exists on the impact of globalization in various areas. Scholars have
argued that globalization affects, and does not affect ethnic conflict (Ishiyama, 2004; Olzak, 2011).
Others have argued a connection between globalization and the outbreak of terrorism as
disadvantaged groups react to globalization (Lutz, Lutz 2014; Khan, Estrada, 2017). Research on
the human migration component of globalization finds an increase in migration from nation to
nation, increasing interactions between formerly separate groups, and they hypothesize ethnic
conflict being a result of this (Olzak, 2011). Economic globalization proliferates trade, and the
spread of information follows suit (Olzak, 2011). These conclusions are frequently referenced as
consequences of globalization, but what this means for whether or not an individual will identify
with the nation or global identity remains unclear.
National Identity and Saliency Globalization impacts nations economically, politically,
technologically, and through human patterns, but it also impacts humans on a personal level,
including their identities and behaviors, making the psychological aspect of globalization key

Vibration test of composite materials on the basis of measurement of dynamic properti
INTRODUCTION
On the basis of measurement of viscoelastic and dynamic properties, there are four important
parameter such as damping, relaxation, creep, and strain rate, which describes evidence of
viscoelastic behavior and can be calculated with the help of an experiment, but this paper describes
the method of test for the measurement of damping. In addition, the notation of complex modulus
describes conventionally for damping and dynamic stiffness of linear viscoelastic materials, where
the methods of vibration test are considered for measurement of complex moduli of composites.
With the help of this test of plates and beams to find dynamic elastic moduli also get evaluated.
In vibration test, notation for complex modulus is suitable for portrayal of dynamic behavior of
linear viscoelastic composites. The damping and stiffness which are the constituent part of the
complex modulus are belongs to the dynamic mechanical properties, which may be measured with
the help of experiments with vibration and wave propagation experiments ,and the measurement of
the same is considered for dynamic mechanical analysis.
However, there are many traps with respect to the different kind of techniques which must get
avoided. In example, there was a development of commercial dynamic mechanical analyzers for the
testing of small specimen of unreinforced low modulus polymers, and stiffness is generally

his goal until he finally reaches it.
Nate Brodie has a dream to meet Tom Brady and to win a million dollars. The only way he can
accomplish this goal is with hard work and determination. So he starts by practicing everyday, all

Dinaw Mengesu s Short Story Home At Last
Has there ever been a time where you felt uncomfortable in your own body or just simply out of
place? Maybe you felt as if you didn t belong in the place you were at? This is how Dinaw
Mengestu describes how he felt in his short story, Home at Last. Dinaw talks about when he
discovered these feelings and what it was like. A time where i can relate to Dinaw Mengestu s
story is in the 6th grade. It was the middle of August, and my first day at Smithville Middle
School. I was finally one of the Big Kids. I wanted to start my middle school years off great and
fit in with all the intimidating 7th and 8th graders. What you wear is a big part of fitting in with
new people. On the first day of school, i noticed all the older girls were wearing makeup and
tight stretchy pants that showed off their butts. I decided i wanted to be exactly like them. That
same day after school, i made my mom take me to Zona Rosa to go shopping. After shopping
around for a bit i stopped upon the perfect pair of leggings. The leggings were pink with blue
spots and white stars everywhere. I begged my mom for the leggings and told her i would die
without them. In the end she finally took them up to the register. I was so excited and could not

I paired them up with a light pink shirt and hot pink shoes.I curled my hair in small tight curls
and even put on some makeup, i felt so pretty and grown up. But, that feeling soon stopped when
I arrived at school. I felt extremely awkward and insecure. My new outfit made me stick out like
a sore thumb and people were staring from every direction. I soon realized, i didn t want to stand
out, I just wanted to blend in with everyone. Finally, before lunch I changed into my gym clothes
and wore them the rest of the day. When I got home I pulled the leggings out of my bag and
stashed them deep in the back of my closet. To this day those leggings have not been

It is very hard to believe someone actually benefits from China s air pollution, but it is true. For
those companies that manufacture filter masks and air purifications products, they make dibs on
the air pollution. Air purifiers market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 18%
during 2016 to 2021, according to TechSci Research Report. Those who can afford the price
would like to install purifiers at homes, schools, offices, subway stations, airports and so on, at

On the most recent reports from Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People s Republic of
China from 16th to 22nd this April, it clearly shows that rural areas still violate air pollution
regulations. There were 285 out of 450 enterprises did not meet emission standard for the first
round of selective monitoring, including 7 major suburb districts in Beijing. For the second
round, 248 out of 396 enterprises did not meet emission standard in BTH regions. There were also
169 out of 250 enterprises had environmental related issues that could not meet the standard,
including defective devices, tampering data and disturbance of monitoring. However, the only
punishment from the report is serious warning and let local government process the rest , which
is very irresponsible. If there is no follow up, what is the point of mentoring? When it eventually
comes to grassroots, what power do they have? Is social unrest a concern in Beijing? These
questions require more social scholars attentions and studies in the future. However, I have
remembered a lecture taught by French Ambassador Laurence Tubiana, she says that social
movement is important for the people inside. Social movement can make a change and indirect
affect the decision making process. We cannot deny the effort and resolution from Beijing
government, but efficiency is also considered as a key factor in the process of fighting

Religious Experiences are in the Mind of the Believer Essays
Religious Experiences are in the Mind of the Believer
A religious experience is a spontaneous or induced mental event over which the
recipient has relatively little control. It is often accompanied with the gaining of
certain knowledge and the experience is always unique. [1] Elton Trueblood s
definition of a religious experience is very broad, including any experience of feelings
of love, power, glory or strength from God. This differs from a simple experience
which can be defined as an event or series of events participated in or lived through,
especially one that makes a powerful impression on the mind and sense. [2]
It is obvious that religious experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When people try to describe an experience
of God they tend to make comparisons which raises problems philosophically, and
many argue that the analogies have weaknesses.
The definitions of mystical experience used by researchers and clinicians vary
considerably, ranging from Neumann s (1964) upheaval of the total personality to
Greesley s (1974) spiritual force that seems to lift you out of yourself to
Scharfstein s (1973) everyday mysticism. William James created four
characteristics which he believed will enable people to identify mystical experiences,
a term that is used in a vast variety of contexts. These include ineffability, noetic
quality, transciency and passivity. From James four characteristics, mystical
experiences are concerned with noetic quality and transciency. Noetic quality refers
to knowledge that is gained through intuition and perception however not in the
conventional manner, whilst transciency refers to the duration of the experience; it
appears that most religious experiences last between a few minutes and two hours.
However the effect and the significance are out of proportion to its physical duration.

Systematic review can help researcher in accumulating knowledge from the range of studies.
Systematic literature review can enhance methodological rigor and also shows opportunities for

Systematic reviews adopt replicable, scientific and transparent process, thus differ from traditional

One reason why my cheer squad is important to me is they help stick up for me. This is important
to me because I have a good feeling inside of me knowing someone will help me when I need
it.When they saw I was being bullied they knew I couldn t handle it so they stuck up for me.They
told the bully that it is not nice to pick on people because it will make the person hurt inside.
When my cheer team helped me with this problem they taught me to not let anyone bother you

  • 2. Genetic Predictions in the Fruit Fly Kayla Berezne Mrs. Cohen Honors Biology 24 March 2013 Genetic Predictions in the Fruit Fly The Drosophila melanogaster is a fruit fly with a very short life cycle. They can be winged or wingless, and have red eyes or white eyes. The different options are called alleles. Alleles are the variants of a specific gene, and one is received from each parent on each chromosome. ( What Are Dominant and Recessive? ). It was chosen to use winged females and wingless males to predict the offspring in this experiment. The winged allele is dominant, meaning it only needs one allele to physically appear. The wingless allele is recessive, which gets covered up by the dominant allele ( Fruit Fly Genetics ). Each trait has two alleles in the flies ... Fullmer supports his ideas with plenty of proof from the book and has an excellent interpretation of the book. Out of all my sources I think Fullmer s review of the book is the most pleasing. Topham focuses mainly on the prejudices displayed in the story. He praises Steinbeck s development of the characters and the friendship between George and Lennie. He agrees that although George and Lennie s dream to have a farm is unreachable their friendship is what makes the story so appealing to readers. Topham relates George and Lennie s troubles to those of the modern day world. He writes how the friendship between the two boys is a shining example of how even though the world is harsh at times, love and friendship can still exist. Topham gives the example of George and Lennie s friendship as support of this idea. Topham emphasizes that there is always an upside to bad times and uses the struggles of the main characters to prove his idea. Topham does not provide any evidence besides George and Lennie s friendship to support his ideas and opinion of Mice and Men. While Topham does explain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Role Of Radical Colonists In Boston, Massachusetts Boston, Massachusetts The home of radical colonists. The colony whose self ruling of 70 years would end with British rule in 1691. My family, the Wright s, were among the first Puritans to arrive in Massachusetts in the seventeenth century. They came here searching for religious freedom and established a church for future generations. Since then, our colony has undergone several changes. Our family has shifted away from religion and we are more involved with trade and commerce. As Boston expands into a trading colony, the British would enforce more and more regulations. Several colonists speak of unimaginable, radical ideas that seem too childish to believe it would happen to our colonies. Rumors are spreading about unrest among colonists... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most our prime resources were being heavily taxed on, like paper and our precious tea. If we had never experienced a financial crisis, we were definitely experiencing one now. All the different competing general stores were competing for lower prices just to get the items off the shelves, even if it meant selling without a profit. For our store, we consumed the more expensive items and sold the rest at such low prices that barely allowed us to buy new products to replace the empty shelves. The most part of this act came in October. Several Bostonians began boycotting British luxury goods. This hurt our profits even more since most of our products were labeled as luxurious. My parents were contemplating what we would do with our family store. Father, having more of a sentimental connection to the store, said to continue doing what we have been doing to see how long we can last. However, mother came up with a more logical solution: we would close the store for the time being and reopen when times get better and father would get a job that would get him more income. Mother would stay with me and Alice and do the domestic chores. What would become of the Wrights and the rest of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On Sunday, March 9, 2014, I had a great opportunity to watch Nihon Furisode Hajime, a Kabuki play held in Kabukiza theatre in Tokyo, Japan. Knowing that the sake wine will weaken the serpent, a hero named Susanoo used set up the jars of sake wine as a trap against the serpent. Bishop is accused of being an evil witch and having harmed others on several occasions. The document goes on to state that little evidence is needed of her being a witch for it is evident and notorious to all beholders. Witnesses and victims begin to testify, declaring Bishop guilty of threats and physical force to have them sign a book, the devil s book. As the trial is occurring, it becomes apparent that the victims present are extremely upset, and tortured by the mere presence of Bishop. Arundel Partners Investment Analysis Essay Arundel Partners Investment Analysis EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Background The proposed business venture, Arundel Partners, is an investment group which would purchase the sequels rights associated with all films produced by 1 or more selected U.S. movie production studios for a specified period of time, or a specified number of films. As your investment analysts, our goal is to assess the value of the sequel rights to allow a determination of the value of the overall investment as well as a reasonable price per film for the sequel rights. Arundel Partners plans to pay to obtain a guarantee to the ownership ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A sequel is typically released to theaters 3 years after the orignal film s initial release. Sequel rights also expire 3 years from the films initial release. Note that Arundel must declare, based on the profitability of the first release, whether or not it will produce the sequel, prior to the expiration of the rights at year 4. RECOMMENDATION Based on our valuation of the investment, as outlined below in the Analysis portion of the report, we have determined a per movie value of $8.9 million when considering purchasing the rights to the entire portfolio of 99 movies analyzed in the sample data. Based on production of 10 sequels, the per movie value of the portfolio would be $52.25 million. Our calculations based on the hypothetical portfolio is that Arundel Partners should make this investment as long as the present value of the expected cash flows from the sequel revenues exceeds the cost of production plus the cost of the investment. Depending on what value a studio will accept as payment per sequel, there appears to be significant profitability in the investment. ANALYSIS As with all options there is more potential profit if the value of the underlying asset is very volatile. Purchasing sequel rights prior to release of the films ... • 11. Billy s Top Trait By Billy Essay Throughout the semester, Billy took on a vocal yet non leadership role. The biggest drawback of Billy s participation was his frequent absences. Billy s top trait according to StrengthQuest is Competition. I think Billy strongly showed Competition in both positive and negative ways. In both BizCafe and other minor activities, competition acted as a motivator for Billy, being more engaged when more was on the line. This was a benefit in direct competition, like the dice stacking game early on in the semester. The competition with others helped Billy focus, brainstorming new ideas and strategies to defeat the other groups. However, this became a drawback when less was on the line. In more straightforward activities, like creating an advertisement for hiring employees, Billy would be less creative and less engaged when there was no competition. In non competitive scenarios, Billy would complete his part of the workand contribute, but he would be less driven and less creative. While displaying some traits of Initiator Contributor, I think Billy s main role in our group was Energizer. Having a gregarious personality, Billy naturally adds energy to group work. This was most evident in highly collaborative group work like weekly BizCafe decisions. When Billy was in class and engaged, he helped us stay on topic and try to find the best solution. He did this primarily by supporting the strategies of others. A recent example of this was our decision for week eleven in BizCafe. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Concrete Slab Foundations A home s foundation is the bottom most layer that provides the support for a home. Depending on the part of the country, the size of the home and when it was built, the type of foundation may vary. Concrete slab foundations are the most common; some are built to sustain crawl spaces or basements. Other foundation types are pier and beam, pile and spread foundations. Regardless of the type, all will require at some point foundation repair. Signs of a foundation in need of repair include cracks in the walls, bricks, drywall, tile or even the foundation itself. Other signs are sticky doorjambs and windows, sloping floors, cracking or separating chimneys or fascia board. In some cases, mold may accumulate in the cracks. Whether too much or not enough, water is the main culprit in foundation repair cases. Over saturated soil expands pushing into the home and foundation and over time loses stability, causing the foundation to again move and crack. Dry soil on the other hand contracts, pulling away from the perimeter of the home, leaving little support for the foundation, causing shifts and cracks. When foundation problems begin to appear it is crucial to repair them as soon as possible. Early foundation repairs may prevent further problems down the road and save... In neonates 1 7 days of age, the clearance of morphine is markedly diminished, being 30 % of that of older infants and children. The Wart lives at the Castle of the Forest Sauvage with his adoptive father, Sir Ector, and his foster brother, Kay. One day in the Forest Sauvage, The Wart encounters an old man by the name of Merlyn who possesses magical capabilities. Merlyn offers to return to the castle to serve as a tutor for The Wart and Kay. He teaches The Wart primarily by transforming him into different animals. Through these transformations, The Wart broadens his worldview, as well as learns the history of the world around him. • 17. Comparison Of Harrison Bergeron And Harrison Bergeron The story Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and the short film 2081 directed by Chandler Tuttle have many similarities and differences. Both the story and the short film are about a boy named Harrison Bergeron who escaped from jail and ran off to a theater. He ended up in jail for tearing off his handicaps in public. In their community, people have handicaps in order to be equal in every way. In the short film, Hazel and George Bergeron, Harrison s parents, switched roles. Harrison also put a bomb under the theater where the ballerinas were performing. Harrison was not even wearing glasses, a red nose, he did not have bad teeth, he even had all his hair and his eyebrows. In these stories people start to realize that the equality they ve always wanted is dangerous and in some ways torture. In the story, Hazel and George were both sitting in their living room and watching a ballet performance on TV. Then George gets up and goes to the kitchen and Hazel is alone. A news report comes on the TV and it s about Harrison. The ballerina explained that Harrison escaped jail and that people should avoid him. The ballerina stated If you see this boy, do not I repeat do not try to reason with him. (2) In the film this scene changes in some ways. In the film Hazel is the one going to the kitchen to wash dishes and George stays to watch the performance. He forgets everything he sees in a matter a twenty seconds while watching Harrison live on TV. Even though he forgets everything he still has flashbacks from when Harrison was carried out of their house. These changes affect the story because it was from two different point of views. In Hazel s point of view some things don t make sense in general. Since her brain is normal, unintelligent, she forgets everything. George is smart and that is why he has a radio transmitter in his ear that sends out noise so that he can forget things. In the film Harrison puts a bomb under the theater where the ballerinas were performing. The bomb could have been fake but it made the film more intense. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the change in the money multiplier depends on the reserve requirement ratio and the public s willingness to deposit currency (Vasudevan, 2003). For instance, when the depositor keeps less currency it will have an effect on deposit as it will be multiplying more. In comparison, if the depositor holds more currency then less multiple deposits will occur (Ireland, 2010). The purpose of the brief was to examine the practice by stategovernments of developing school accountability ratings systems, which rate schools across their respective states with an A F, report card style grade as a form of institutional accountability in the public domain. The authors of the brief were attempting to highlight some of the purported reasons behind the creation of these systems and systematically critique those arguments to demonstrate the failing of these accountability systems to meet their intended purposes. Women were expected to take care of the children and the home, while men were expected to earn money and work the fields. Let us hope that history does not repeat itself with the era of the Tudors. King Henry the VIII ruled according to his own wants and desires. He would favor people with great gifts or on a whim take their life. His rule was a time of tip toeing and avoiding displeasing him or The Church. Unfortunately, in order to learn from history, its stories and facts must retold truthfully and accurately. The Assyrians were one of the first groups who took advantage of iron using it to invigorate and spread their empire. By the start of 3000 B.C., The Assyrian army was greatly feared for the combination of ironweaponry and their barbaric lifestyle. The use of iron weapons led the Assyrian military to dominance, because the Assyrians were the first to use iron weaponry, iron was stronger than the materials used by their enemies, and the wide range of weaponry that iron enabled. While H. erectus characteristics vary across continents, the majority share the same range in body size, brains, and cranial shape. H. erectus adults had robust bodies weighing more than 100 lbs. and measuring 5 6 tall. The range in H. erectus brain size is 700 to 1250 cm(^3). An abundance of literature exists on the impact of globalization in various areas. Scholars have argued that globalization affects, and does not affect ethnic conflict (Ishiyama, 2004; Olzak, 2011). Others have argued a connection between globalization and the outbreak of terrorism as disadvantaged groups react to globalization (Lutz, Lutz 2014; Khan, Estrada, 2017). Research on the human migration component of globalization finds an increase in migration from nation to nation, increasing interactions between formerly separate groups, and they hypothesize ethnic conflict being a result of this (Olzak, 2011). Economic globalization proliferates trade, and the spread of information follows suit (Olzak, 2011). These conclusions are frequently referenced as consequences of globalization, but what this means for whether or not an individual will identify with the nation or global identity remains unclear. Vibration test of composite materials on the basis of measurement of dynamic properti INTRODUCTION On the basis of measurement of viscoelastic and dynamic properties, there are four important parameter such as damping, relaxation, creep, and strain rate, which describes evidence of viscoelastic behavior and can be calculated with the help of an experiment, but this paper describes the method of test for the measurement of damping. In addition, the notation of complex modulus describes conventionally for damping and dynamic stiffness of linear viscoelastic materials, where the methods of vibration test are considered for measurement of complex moduli of composites. With the help of this test of plates and beams to find dynamic elastic moduli also get evaluated. In vibration test, notation for complex modulus is suitable for portrayal of dynamic behavior of linear viscoelastic composites. The damping and stiffness which are the constituent part of the complex modulus are belongs to the dynamic mechanical properties, which may be measured with the help of experiments with vibration and wave propagation experiments ,and the measurement of the same is considered for dynamic mechanical analysis.
