Crafting an essay on the topic of "Sample Essay Plan" poses its own set of challenges,
demanding a delicate balance of structure, creativity, and precision. The task involves not only
understanding the intricacies of essay planning but also demonstrating the ability to articulate
those concepts effectively. Here's a breakdown of the difficulties one might encounter:
1. Clarity of Understanding: Comprehending the nuances of essay planning requires a
clear understanding of the components involved. One must grapple with defining the
purpose, structuring key ideas, and presenting arguments coherently. Without a solid
grasp of these elements, conveying a meaningful essay plan becomes challenging.
2. Structural Precision:Developing a well-organized essay plan demands meticulous
attention to structure. Balancing the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion while
ensuring a logical flow is essential. Achieving this precision requires thoughtful
consideration of each section's content and its contribution to the overall coherence.
3. Creativity in Expression:Although the topic might seem straightforward, infusing
creativity into the essay plan is crucial to captivate the reader. Finding innovative ways to
present ideas, choosing engaging language, and incorporating relevant examples demand
a creative touch that goes beyond mere technical proficiency.
4. Thorough Research: A robust essay plan often requires supporting evidence and
references. Conducting thorough research to gather pertinent information, and then
integrating it seamlessly into the plan, adds another layer of complexity. Ensuring the
accuracy and relevance of the sources contributes to the overall quality of the essay.
5. Conciseness vs. Completeness:Striking the right balance between providing sufficient
detail and maintaining conciseness can be challenging. It requires careful consideration of
what to include and what to omit, ensuring that the essay plan is comprehensive while
avoiding unnecessary verbosity.
Despite these challenges, crafting an essay on the topic of "Sample Essay Plan" can be a

Essay on The Legend of King Arthur
Who was the real King Arthur? King Arthur did not grow up as a normal King
would. He was raised in a very odd way, however with the help of Merlin an
extraordinary wizard, Arthur became King as it was his destiny.
Queen Igrane from England bore king Uther a son. This child was to someday inherit
the throne. King Uther sent for Merlin, a farseeing prophet and powerful magician.
Merlin was to perform a vital service to the kingdom. Merlin agreed with the
condition that the king would grant him anything he asked for. King Uther was
reluctant to such a deal for what Merlin wanted was the young prince. However
Merlin assured the King that he could see into the future and the arrangement would
benefit the prince. Therefore, once the prince was ... Show more content on

The archbishop said He is not yet here . Therefore the archbishop decided to stage a
tournament. The winner of these contest would be England s greatest warrior and

tournament and he decided to participate in it. Making Arthur come along to help
his brother with his weapons, as well to enjoy the spectacle. Once the tournament
started Sir Kay noticed his sword was missing, without a sword he would not be
allowed to compete in the contest. Arthur immediately rode home and looked for
the sword. Unfortunately the sword was nowhere to be found. Arthur could not
think of where he might find another sword. Then he remembered that he had seen
a sword in St Paul s churchyard. Arthur got to the churchyard, climbed up onto the
stone and pulled the sword out. Arthur rushed to the tournament where he handled
Sir Kay the sword. Sir Kay noticed it was not his sword and asked Arthur where he
found it. Arthur told his brother where he found the sword. Then Sir Kay
mentioned it to their father and Sir Ector noticed the sword was no longer in the
stone. Making him declare Now Arthur... you must be King of this land. Sir Ector
asked Arthur to put the sword back in the stone and pull it out. Sir Kay and his
father tried to pull the sword out but they could not. Then Arthur tried and the sword
came out. Sir Ector called it a miracle and decided to
P. F. Chang Case
Case Study: P.F. Chang serves its workers well
It is suggested by various text books and management tutors alike, that the mastering
of the four functions of management; Planning, controlling, organising and leading
along with developing technical, human and conceptual skills, should go some way
to allowing a manager some degree of success in the field of management. Of course,
having skills is just part of being an effective manager, these skills and functions must
be communicated in a way that fellow managers and workers can understand and act
upon.
The case study of P.F. Chang, a U.S based chain of Asian Bistros and contemporary
Chinese diners P.F. Chang serves its workers well , indicates a number of systems in

Chang makes a point of putting their customers satisfaction at the forefront of their
business. This position is illustrated in the 2010 financial report of P.F. Chang which
stated that the company s aim was to strive to create a loyal customer base that
generates a high level of repeat business in our restaurants and translates to interest
and trial of our retail products [however] Our business is highly sensitive to changes
in guest traffic and our operators concentrate on consistent execution of superior
customer service while also focusing on additional opportunities for operating
efficiencies (P.F. Chang, 2011).
Some workers may struggle with the concept of exceptional customer service and a
P.F. Chang manager must find ways to organise those workers to meet the companies
expectations while upholding the companies values of openness and respect.
The case study mentions that restaurant managers face the challenge every day of
putting the right person in the right job, creating a team that works well together . At
P.F. Chang, staff meet before every work shift where the manager is able to organise
staff, reminding them of them of their duties for which ever role they may occupy.
This meeting could also give the manager an insight into which member of the team
may be feeling unmotivated and time could then be made to talk to the team member
and discuss any issues.

Biological Agent Essay
Following exposure, Biological agents may remain in the air and cause problems
after their release. This means that the virus could spread before we even know that it
has spread.
One very easy way of launching a biological attack is through the use of our aviation
transportation system. At airports such as the George Bush Intercontinental Airport
in Houston, Texas, the Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida, the Los
Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California, and the John F. Kennedy
International Airport, in New York, which are gateways to every major city in the
United States, processed thousands of travelers every day. The terrorists called Bio

In this regard, the biological threat is greater than a nuclear one. Acquiring deadly
pathogens, and turning them into biological weapons by making them human
transmissible, has less technological issues than to steal or produce weapons grade
uranium or plutonium and assembling it into an improvised nuclear device.
(Vicinanzo, 2015)
Prevention Strategy
A one size fits all approach cannot be utilized when planning for any type incident
involving a widespread disease and planning for a bioterrorist attack using smallpox
is no exception. Each community is going to present its own unique, challenges,
resources and needs. All of these characteristics must be considered when planning
for an efficient and effective response to a bio attack involving smallpox.
(www.cdc.gov) The public health departments that are at the local and state level
should work with hospitals, clinics, public and private organizations, along with the
local community leaders and create a smallpox emergency response plan that
involves the community s participation that is integrated with state and federal plans.
Emergency response planning to terrorism in the past was about bombings and
chemical attacks. But those require a more sophisticated delivery system, and
terrorist groups are looking for a quieter strategy. Attacks involving biological agents
are more covert and unless we discover the plot and alert the population early,
Commercial Properties Of Commercial Real Estate
Properties
Commercial Real Estate Properties
Commercial real estate are properties that are prepared for buildings, apartments or
for business types. They are not utilized for residential usage. There is a kind of
residential real estate property that is meant for family residence , Dolf de Roos,

there are several operating expenses to the property owner relating to the building
price, insurance fee etc., nonetheless there is a cash inflow that generates from
tenants to the property owner once the property has been rented to a tenant(s).

The building is located with a beautiful panoramic view of the mountain.
The property has a warm glowing stone fireplace which opens to the outdoor patio for

This property is located close to scenic road trip travel like the Chimney Rock, and
the famous Blue Ridge Parkway.
Analysis of a Property for an Investment Purpose
The functioning interstate hotel would be a good investment. In my opinion I believe
it would be good for investing because it has as many of the qualities and features
that a hotel should have. Being located in the root of the city I feel there will be
plenty of hometown customers and travelers for varies reasons. Even with this in
mind I still feel it is essential to do the proper due diligence prior to making a bid.
Due diligence is necessary for every kind of offer of the property holders to the tenant

Viktor Frankl s Man s Search For Meaning
Number 119,104: Viktor Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning
Viktor Frankl had a chance to escape the wrath of World War II, but he didn t!
Instead, he chose to stay behind so that he could be close to his parents. That choice,
ultimately led him to extreme experiences within several Nazi concentration camps,
including the infamous Auschwitz. Watching those around him suffer the same fate,
the same hardships and the same pain, he noticed that they all reacted differently.
Those who had found a meaning or will to live did so, but others who had lost
everything dear to them often just gave up and died. Frankl realized that (and he
often quotes Nietzsche), He who has a why to live can bear with almost any how .
Frankl s Early Life and Parental Attachment
Viktor Frankl was born on March 26, 1905 in Vienna, the same day Beethoven died
to Elsa and Gabriel Frankl. He was interested in psychology from an early age and in
1921 gave a public lecture On the Meaning of Life . He graduated with a doctorate in
1930 (V Frankl Institut). While in training he had great difficulty being apart from
his parents and stated in his autobiography that I was so emotionally attached to my
parental home that I suffered terrible homesickness during the first weeks and
months, even years, when I had to stay overnight in the various hospitals where I
was working (Frankl, 2000). In 1940, during the war, he became a director of the
Neurological Department of Rothschild Hospital where he made
Customer Management System ( Cms )
The biggest benefit most businesses realize when moving to a Customer
Management System (CMS) is the act of directly having all your business data
stored and accessed from a single location. Past habits would spread customer data
in various office spaces and file rooms, email systems, and even Post it note entries.
Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin all saw the value in storing all data in
a central location, giving management and employee s immediate access to data.
Also, Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin each were able to strengthen
collaboration from within the company with the more efficient automated processes.
By providing a full view of all customer information, knowledge of what customers
and the general market wants, and integration with existing applications to
consolidate all business information in one common location for mass usage.
Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin each have invested in various ways to
support an effective Customer Management System. During Cargill s Annual
Business Planning process, quarterly business reviews, and sales and product line
meetings, leaders evaluate organization processes. Data collection and storage is a
key focus during this evaluation period. Cargill Corn Milling decided to deploy
several applications to collect and transfer customer knowledge with touch points
shared using a database system supported by MasterCard (Cargill Corn Milling,
2008). Cargill s sales and customer service
Examples Of Realism In The Prince By Machiavelli
Realism Machiavelli is a great example of a realist. In his book The Prince he
describes people as ungrateful, fickle and deceitful, eager to avoid dangers, and
avid for gain, and while you are useful to them they are all with you, offering you
their blood, their property, and their sons so long as danger is remote, but when it
approaches they turn on you . This quote perfectly sums up the realist view on the
world; except that instead of people, they view the states as the essential actor. When
we talk about realism, they consider states as a rational actor. Realists are concerned
with their self interest colliding with another country s interest. Realist s concern is
war and security. They strive to survive and they see that their way... Show more

Basically nothing is fixed and it is capable of change due to social structure.
Realism s core concerns are power and security while liberalism focuses on peace
and prosperity. Constructivism argues on social structures shaping behavior and
building up towards an actor s identity and interests. Constructivists view the social
structure that both consists of the actors and their interaction. Realism and liberalism
view interests and identities as givens but constructivism sees these concepts are the
central concern. For example when it comes to conflict, actors may change their
nature of interaction. Some states may have a history of rivalry can change and be
peaceful or they can go back to being rivals. Nothing is fixed, everything is
determined through social interaction that is constantly changing. For example, the
European Union. It is made up of states that fought against one another in World War
I and World War II but are now close allies. Another example is the United Statesand
Russia; the United States and Russia were allies throughout the war but then were on
the brink of another war with the cold
King Buchadnezzar 2 Research Paper
King Nebuchadnezzar II (634 562 BCE) was the greatest king of ancient Babylon,
succeeding his father, Nabopolassar. King Nabopolassar had defeated the Assyrians
with the help of the Medes and liberated Babylonia from Assyrian rule. In this way
he provided for his son (as Philip II would do for his son Alexander later) a stable
base and ample wealth on which to build an opportunity for greatness which
Nebuchadnezzar took full advantage of. Nebuchadnezzar IIdefeated the Egyptians
and their allies the Assyrians at Carchemish, subdued Palestine and the region of
Syria and, consolidating his power, controlled all the trade routes across
Mesopotamia from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea. Remaining true to
the vision of his inaugural address, the great king spent the tolls he collected and
the taxes he gathered in creating a city which, he hoped, would be recognized as a
wonder of the world (and, indeed, his hopes were realized in later writers adding the
walls of Babylonand, in particular, the Ishtar gate to the list of the Seven Wonders
of the World). In the forty three years of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar II made the
most of the time employing a vast army of slave labor to surround his city with walls
so thick that chariot races were conducted around the tops and which stretched fifty
six miles in length, encircling an area of two hundred square miles.

This report is the outcome of a research created with the purpose of determining what
impacts on customers satisfaction and expectation of service, as well as to study the
relationship between the service nature, service quality, service failure, service
recovery strategies and service guarantee. Evidence of how effective the service
quality measurement models, such as SERVQUAL and SERVPREF, is also shown.

Nowadays organisations recognise the importance of satisfying their customers needs
and meeting their expectations as the more complex the customer demand, the more
there is need for service. Although services are infused in every organisation s core,
service failure still appears therefore, service recovery strategies are essential in order
for the organisations to overcome the situation. This research intends to study the
relation between customer service and organisation.
1.1 Service Nature
Service is an activity which normally takes place by interacting between the service
employees and the customer although a clear definition on services has always
been immense to describe. An easy way to understand services is by imagining
service personnel as the actors in a play and the customers as the audients
(Lovelock, Vandermerwe, Lewis, 1999). There are two ways in which services
can be defined, such as service being an act of performance and as economic
activities providing consumers with benefits under specific circumstances. The
importance of the service sector is obvious as 67% of employees are directly
employed in service jobs while more than half of those already employed in
manufacturing companies perform service function jobs. (Irons, 1997) Services have
four key characteristics such as intangibility, inseparability, variability/heterogeneity
and perishability. This key characteristics of services are used to describe the effect

Examples Of Symmetry In The Knight s Tale
, their symmetry, their happy balance; in a word it is all that introduces order, all that
gives unity, that permits us to see clearly and to comprehend at once both the
ensemble and the details (PoincarГ©). The need for symmetry to understand the
whole is found not only in math, but also in literature. In The Knight s Tale, symmetry
provides balance to stories by highlighting critical aspects for understanding. The
balance of conflict and resolution help complete the story and create a sense of
harmony for the reader. In The Knight s Tale, Chaucer uses symmetry through
balance to make the story truly complete. Chaucer uses many examples of symmetry
to help explain the story and emphasize important events. The first instance of

Chaucer uses symmetry to creatively conclude the driving conflict of the poem,
Arcite and Palamon s conflicting mutual love for Emily. The conflict between the
two lovers begins during their exile in Theseus prison after being defeated in
battle. Palamon is upset by his cousin s admiration of Emily when he expressed his
love interest first; he exclaims, Yet you would treacherously go about / To love my
lady, whom I love and serve / And ever shall, till death cut my heart s nerve (34).
He expresses his deep love for Emily and anger that his own cousin does not
support him, but loves the same lady. The conflict over their love of Emily forms a
deep rift between the two men for the length of the poem. The rift is mended at
Arcite s request to Emily after he is fatally injured in celebration of his victory in
the tournament: Who serves you and will serve you all his life. / And should you
ever choose to be a wife, / Forget not Palamon, that great hearted man (78). Chaucer
uses symmetry to bring about an end to the violent tournament devised by Theseus,
so that he could determine who would marry Emily. Theseus orders Palamon and
Arcite to each gather an army so that they could fight to the death to win Emily: To
Emily. To this I give my name, / My faith and honour, as I am a knight. / Whichever
of you proves of greater might (52 53). The
Danilo Blandon s Use Of Crack Cocaine In The United
States
In 1996, Gary Webb claimed that black men were incarcerated for charges dealing
with selling cocaine because of the CIA. Thousands of young black men are serving
long prison sentences for selling cocaine a drug that was virtually unobtainable in
black neighborhoods before members of the CIA s army started bringing it into South
Central in the 1980s at bargain basement prices. This claim outraged members of the
black community because it reaffirmed suspicions of the government intentionally
tainting their community with crack. ... about 2,000 people converged on the

the idea, several weeks before Ross s trial, that the CIA was involved with Blandon s
drug sales...Webb also suggested questions to Fenster in the courtroom, according to
Webb and Fenster.
Questions Fenster asked fueled the material Webb used in his articles to support his
claims. If he did give Fenster this idea, and Fenster didn t come to the conclusion
himself it makes the material used in the article illegitimate.
The Washington Post continues on to say, ... No evidence of specific transactions or
of explicit financial links has emerged to back up Blandon s and Menses s claims of
sending money to the rebels.
If there isn t evidence of financial links to back up Blandon s and Menses s claims,
then Blandon might have not told the truth to the grand jury in 1994. It is another
possibility that Blandon and Menses kept the profits made from cocaine trafficking
and spent it on themselves.
Roberto Suro and Walter Pincus, journalists for The Washington Post, have years of
experience. Suro has written books on immigration, and is a professor at University
of Southern California. Through Pincus career, he was awarded with the 1997

The Six Different Stages Of Group Development
Group development can be defined as a group of people work together. Group
members are interdependent. In other words, they build as a team to accomplish
goals. Again, it is known as team building. It is frameworks to recognize behavioral
patterns of team and understand causes of changes. Furthermore, group development
helps team to increase productivity. There are six different stages of group
development such as formation of group, initial stage, transition stage, working stage,
final stage and follow up stage.
2.1FORMATION OF GROUP First stage of group development is formation of
group. In this stage, group members feel delighted to join the group. It means they
are eager to be part of the team. On the other hand, they are worried of how to adapt
themselves in new environment. But, it is compulsory for them to gather together.
Therefore, forming of group is available when they first meet. From there, they build
trust between each other. This is to let them feel they are part of group members.
There are few steps to form a group such as developing rationale, deciding theoretical
format, practical considerations, group publicizing, select group leaders and ... Show

This is because they know strengths and weaknesses of each other, willing to share
and exchange personal matters as well as group process. And, they have their own
roles and responsibilities. In this stage, it will be an advantage to know the
differences among members. When they know each other well, it enhances group
performance. Group members must have both high competence and mission. It
makes significant progress towards the goals. On the other hand, group leader
should provide group members chances to receive feedback of how the group is
doing. Through proper feedback, it brings self confidence to them. Last but not least,
group members must have enough time to achieve its work and overall

The Conversion Option l l
In a typical convertible bond, the bondholder is given the option to convert the bond
into a specified number of shares of stock. The conversion ratio measures the
number of shares of stock for which each bond may be exchanged. Stated differently,
the market conversion value is the current value of the shares for which the bonds
can be exchanged. The conversion premium is the excess of the bond value over the
conversion value of the bond. The conversion option in a convertible bond is equity.
9
Convertible Bond Value and the Conversion Option
10
Determinants of Value of Conversion Option l The conversion option is a call option
on the underlying stock, and its value is therefore determined by the variables that
affect call option values
the underlying stock price, the conversion ratio (which determines the strike price),
the life of the convertible bond, the variance in the stock price and the level of
interest rates.
11
Factors in Using Option Pricing Models to Value Convertibles and Warrants l Option
pricing models can be used to value the conversion option with three caveats
conversion options are long term, making the assumptions about constant variance
and constant dividend yields much shakier, conversion options result in stock
dilution, and conversion options are often exercised before expiration, making it
dangerous to use European option pricing
Depersonalization, Arrogance And Entrenched Interests
The three bureaucratic I choose are Depersonalization, Arrogance and Entrenched
interests. The reason I choose this three because I believe they will make good
connection also will connect to the three Characteristics. The three characteristics are
Racism, Fragmented social groups and Struggling schools. These three characteristics
will make a great and strong connection to Depersonalization, Arrogance and
Entrenched interests.
Depersonalization connects with racism I say this because people have to accept
other race outside there own. I say this because some people feel so disengaged
with their surroundings also make others think differently about that person. Some
people don t like to interact with people for example work place some workers don
t like to interact with each other same goes for schools cause you see certain people
hang out with certain people. I also believe that lot some colleges different races hang
out with each other for example latino hang out with litno, Black hang out with black
and white hang out with white some of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example she arrogance because she believe that she better, smarter, or more
important than other people. Some people where shocked about her comments.
This when fragmented social group coming group start to broke a part and people
start to detached from each other which being lots of problem doing lot of groups
works. Comments like this makes people hates you more because you believe that
no ones is better then you also believe that you are better than everyone else.
People also believe that if there are not in control, their feel left out or feels
uncomfortable. Which is true I say this because if I feel like I m not in control of
what we doing I will detach myself from it. Preconceived assumptions that society has
given not necessarily what is true of that
The Benefits Of Meditation
The sad truth is that while most of us are aware of the benefits of meditation, very
few of us actually have a regular meditation practice. There are a lot of obstacles to
overcome in order to incorporate meditation into our daily lives. I overcame those
obstacles and have been meditating daily for two years as well as meditating
periodically throughout the day! Through meditationI have experienced more peace
and joy in my life, I ve become less reactive and less stressed and I have more energy
and creativity! And I know you can experience these benefits as well!
But first, I think it s important to define what meditation is? Many of us have
misconceptions about meditation. The most common misconception is that
meditation is about getting rid of thought! That would set anyone up for failure!

He wouldn t stop either. He wanted my attention. Now to most people, this would be
a distraction and a reason to stop meditating. Instead, I opened my eyes, sat down on

meditation!
If you are meditating and a distraction happens. Just notice it. Allow it to be. If it s
something that needs your attention, tend to whatever needs to be done, while still
observing your breath!
Obstacle #6: Not knowing how to meditate
So many people feel that they don t know how to meditate. We make meditation more
complicated than it really is! Again, meditation is about being present in the moment.
It s really about finding what works for you!
Again, you can incorporate meditation into your life without taking time out of your
schedule. Your life can become a meditation. It is those moments throughout the day
that we are fully present in the moment that matter. And through meditation, we
discover the bliss of being that we

Jealousy In Ray Bradbury s All Summer In A Day
Rain pours outside like an overflowing canteen waiting to be tipped over. Thunder
crackles like fireworks on the 4th of July. And Margot could not be more despondent.
The only thing keeping her awake at night is the fact that the sun will come out
tomorrow, to experience it s true glory, for the first time on the planetVenus.
Unfortunately, she was locked in a closet by the envious bullies that were jealous of
her superior experiences. In the story All Summer In a Day by Ray Bradbury, the
main character, Margot, is upset because of the constant rain on the planet Venus, and
the persistent torments by the envious bullies due to the jealousy that the children
feel about her experiences. Thesis goes here.

This is clearly evident when Bradbury writes, And once, a month ago, she had
refused to shower in the school shower rooms, had clutched her hands to her ears
and over her head, screaming how the water mustn t touch her head. (Bradbury,
1954). She hates the rain so much that the mere thought of showering is scary. Of
course, you could argue that she just doesn t like water, but the author states, And
they, they had been on Venus all their lives, and they had been only two years old
when last the sun came out and had long since forgotten the color and heat of it and
the way it really was. (Bradbury, 1954). This shows that the only thing she wants is
the sun, and the rain is what she despises because of that. In effect, what these 4
quotes show is that Margot is depressed because of the 7 year long rain, and the
continuous oppression by the other
Anne Valwood Angel Poetic Techniques
Words to Live By There are many quotes that have deep meanings to me, so it is
difficult for me to pick just one to write about. The difficulty in finding [a] quote(s)
is that almost nobody is going to feel and/or understand the way you interpret a
quote. Quotes have different meanings to everyone, and for some, a quote is not
something that can explained, but something a person must feel. I guess since I
have to choose I would choose the lyrics to Angel by Theory of a Deadman. The
lyrics to Angel include the line, Her halo is broken, but there s fight in her eyes.

Some people say the song is a ballad about a man who s in love with an angel but

and ends up killing herself, thus becoming an angel. As someone who has gone
through an insane amount of tough experiences in her life from being bullied
from the time she started school at Lanier County until she moved to Valwood this
song has a meaning to me that cannot simply be expressed in words. The quote is
more than just the lyrics of a song. The words are an encouragement, and they are
meaningful. They inspire me to remember that even when I get knocked down I

can be expressed in words because it conveys an emotional feeling that is

Political Liberalism In The United States During The Cold
War
The doctrine of United States foreign policy has changed significantly during and
after the Cold War, as the United States redefined its foreign policies during each of
these eras. Although inarguably United States promotes liberal democracy, how it
goes about doing so currently, could not be necessarily categorized as a liberal
approach. During the Cold WarUnited Stateshad a more liberal approach towards
promotion of democracy. Yet this approach has since changed as it did not emphasize
enough the importance of other states materialistic needs and its impact on their
international behavior, thus leading United States to adopt a more constructivist
perspective toward its foreign policy.

According to constructivism The world of international relations is not just the world
of material capabilities and materialistic opportunities it is also a social world .
Constructivists believe that actor states are occupied with both normative and
material factors. They do not deny that the material world shapes their structure, but
they believe that through reflections and discourse, actor states are malleable and
influenced by each other. Constructivism thus deals with the process through which
principled ideals become social norms. In being so, constructivism becomes a critical
component for the international recognition of a state. This becomes crucial for
actors, as the internationalization of social norms will ensure compliance over
external pressure. Thus, democracy promotion can be subsumed under the
socialization and internalization by actors. The persistence of democratic
international institutions after the cold war as well as the mass identification of
states as democracies and the absence of a strong alternative political ideology have
contributed to a process of socialization promoting democratic cooperation. Therefore,
after the Cold

life includes a few items, a few signatures, a record of his marriage to Anne

There is no record of Shakespeare s schooling or connection to his writing. The other
main point the source hit was how the controversy was born. The first person to

Hybrid Vehicles and Their Effect on the Environment Essay
Today, people use their own personal vehicles to travel more than ever before.
Personal transportation is no longer considered a luxury; it is now considered a
necessity. The number of cars in the United States has been growing steadily since
the 1970s. The number of miles traveled by cars has risen nearly 150 percent, yet the
United States population has only grown roughly 40 percent during that time
(hybridcars.com, Driving Trends). Although it may seem like we are advancing into
the future, in reality, we are moving backwards from the effects these vehicles have
on our bodies and the environment. The pollution produced by these vehicles has
brought us to the day where we must find other modes of transportation that cause less

On the other hand, there are still other pollutants that have a greater effect on people
and the environment.
Carbon Monoxide Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas that
affects the flow of oxygen to one s brain and other parts of the body. This gas merges
with the hemoglobin in a person s blood, which then weakens the flow of oxygen in
the body (hybridcars.com, Pollutants). The effects are severe and in some cases
deadly towards smokers and people with heart disease (Larminie 246). This toxin can
permanently alter the central nervous system throughout the body (hybridcars.com,
Pollutants). Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are not the only pollutants that
come from vehicles. Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxides Sulphur oxides and nitrogen
oxides both have great effect on the lungs. Sulphur oxides cause respiratory illnesses,
mostly in children, the elderly, and people who already have heart and lung diseases
(hybridcars.com, Pollutants). Nitrogen oxide causes the lungs to be irritated and
increase the chances of infection. Nitrogen oxide can also react with other
surrounding agents to cause ground level ozone, or smog. The creation of the ozone
then irritates the eyes, damages the lungs and causes respiratory problems (Larminie
246).
The Sources Of Injustice Explained By Simone De Beauvoir
WoMEN
(An Analysis of the Sources of Injustice Explained by Simone de Beauvoir in Second
Sex)
The idea of feminism and women s rights have been under attack for years. Women
themselves have been under attack for their entire lives. Women always have to be
doing things correctly or men attack their very being. Men have expected women to
be submissive to them from the beginning of time, as life has always been a
patriarchy. Feminism has always been buried under the dirt but in the last 50 100
years, it has been exhumed from the grave. In this time women have been fighting for
rights, especially through literature. As Amanda J. Davis explains in her essay about
feminism, Authors deconstruct such concepts as home, safety, and shelter in their
respective texts and reposition them in the context of social injustices born out of the
volatile intersection of race, class, and gender oppression. (Davis) There have been
many women authors who have helped define feminism, one of the most famous
being Simone de Beauvoir. Beauvoir taught herself philosophy and then began her
own teaching career and authorship. Her novel Second Sex quickly became a
beacon of the feminist movement in the 1950 s. She writes about the causes and
effects of the oppression shown to women all around the world, especially in the
United States. Simone de Beauvoir shows in The Second Sex that there are many
sources of injustice toward women including biological, social and economic, and
legal. As Beauvoir
Hiv And The Prevalence Of Hiv Essay
HIV In Adolescents
Shavon Q Frasier
Delaware Technical and Community College
Abstract
According to the CDC, In the United States the prevalence of HIV in adolescents
from age 13 24 is estimated to account for 22% of all new cases (cdc.gov 2016). Of
those cases, the most new cases occurred among gay and bisexual males. Furthermore
young African American and Latino gay and bisexual males have been affected in
higher numbers than any other group. Addressing HIV in our youth entails multiple
avenues to curtail the rising numbers. Including, but not limited to, education, tools
for risk reduction, healthy decisions, effective communication, as well as treatment
and care. How did our nation s youth reach this point? How can change be
implemented? The following will discuss the trends and statistics on the prevalence
of HIV in our youth as well as the efforts being made to decrease the numbers of
newly reported cases.
The HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States among adolescents is a continuing
upward trend despite the emphasis on abstinence. Adolescents continue to
participate in risky sexual behaviors. Youth age 13 24 accounted for more than 1 in
5 new HIV diagnoses in 2014 (cdc.gov 2016). An estimated 9,731 youth age 13 24
were diagnosed with HIV in 2014 in the United States. Eighty one percent (7,868)
of diagnoses among youth occurred in persons age 20 24 (cdc.gov 2016). Among
youth ages 13 24 diagnosed with HIV in 2014, 80% (7,828) were

Walden By Henry David Thoreau
Walden by Henry David Thoreau
The book Walden by Henry David Thoreau was published in 1854. The book is a
detailed critique of how modern man is living his life. This life is not fulfilling as
people are too busy chasing material items that really do not add value to their
lives. The main theme in this excerpt is simplicity. When you live a simple life you
get to have the opportunity and the time to enjoy life s precious pleasures. Life
becomes more fulfilling if it is lived in this manner. Henry David Thoreau wrote the
book while living in isolation in a cabin near Walden Pond. The author has been
described as being one of the greatest transcendentalists to ever live.
He chose to live in the woods in isolation because he wanted to live

Their mutual love and hatred for one another, and for themselves, provides an

John Fante s description of Los Angeles during the depression of gaunt faces and lost
humanity is haunting and riveting, as told through the eyes of a young man who is
not altogether stable. The smog, traffic, dust, grime and shallow lifestyles of southern
California were already present in 1939, making this story relevant still today. The
earthquake scene in the story is just as realistic as it might be today, complete with

Zombie Consumerism In White Noise by Don DeLillo
Addiction... it is a word that almost everyone is afraid of. The most common
addictions are on: cigarettes, drugs or alcohol. There are million cases all around the
world connected with these kinds of problems. People are concentrating on them and
are not aware that there are less severe kinds such as: Zombie Consumerism. When
we buy without thinking, motivated by a super low price, passion or enormous
appetite we are guilty of Zombie Consumerism. Shopping is seen by many addicts
as a release from stress and pain, so it can be assumed the inner working cognitively
for a shopping addict would become similar to that of a drug addict or alcohol addict.
The characters in White Noise are victims of Zombie Consumerism.
One of the main themes around which the novel is structured is death. The characters
in this novel realize that they are surrounded by death and that there is no escape.
Even though they are aware that the death is brought to them upon the products they
buy and it causes them to suffer both physically and mentally, they are ignoring the
fact and they turn to the illusive comfort that consumerism provides. The characters
turn to consumerism as a way of escaping death. The products they buy create some
kind of comfort and seem as a solution of many problems. They become desperate
because they believe that buying unnecessary products continuously will help them
with their hopeless situation. Good example for this situation is the drug Dylar.

Clinical Presentation, Treatment Options, And The...
The general public and even some medical professionals lacks in depth information
on Necrotizing Fasciitis. Most Americans have not heard of it or do not have
enough information about it to know what to do. It is commonly misdiagnosed and
is often fatal because it is not caught in time. I will discuss what it is, what causes it,
describe clinical presentation, treatment options, and the prognosis of this disease. In
hopes that more people can be made aware of this deadly disease.
Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) has been called the flesh eating bacteria by the media. This
past summer there were a few cases of this on Galveston beaches. Most likely it
was caused by the strain Dr. Edlich talks about in his paper Necrotizing Fasciitis:
Background, Pathophysiology, Etiology. He describes it as a variant necrotizing
Type I, or poly microbial strain known as Type I Saltwater Necrotizing Fasciitis, in
which a minor skin wound is infected with saltwater containing a Vibrio species.
The National Necrotizing Fasciitis Foundation (NNFF) states that in actuality it is
the decaying infection of the fascia and not a flesh eating bacteria. It does not just
affect the fascia, the outer connective tissue bands covering the muscles, and other
soft tissues, but it also can destroy the surrounding soft tissues such as skin, fat,
blood vessels and nerves. NF is not easily diagnosed and it spreads quickly usually
using the fascia as an expressway. It is still a relatively rare disease

Rome as its first emperor. Julius Caesar can be considered one of the world s
greatest historical figures because he was a good communicator, he was
memorialized by his own people and by future generations. In 100 BC, a boy was
born with a dream to rise to supreme power. This was heavily influenced by the
tyranny of the current leader of Rome, Sulla (Mark). The land was in civil war
because Sulla challenged the Roman... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The far reach of his empire showed his conquering power. Emperor Augustus had a
temple dedicated to Caesar, which still stands today, commemorating Julius s life
after his untimely death at the hands of senators (Grimms). Finally, the position of
Emperor is called Caesar. After Julius executed the position of emperor so
brilliantly, all leaders of Rome used the title, Caesar, to honour him. Because of all
these factors, his image of greatness is memorialized in Rome for all eternity.
Unfortunately, not everyone respected the greatness of this man. The senate fell
because Roman citizens were unhappy with a few rich leaders ignoring the needs
of many poor citizens. The masses supported the idea of a leader who would take
care of everyone. This event was a catalyse for Rome becoming an Empire. Greedy
and selfish, the senators resented losing their power. Caesar was killed by men
who were hoping to bring back the republic. He was trick into meeting some
senators to negotiate a compromise for both sides, but these evil leaders ambushed
him, stabbing him multiple times and leaving his body in the senate (McManus).
Caesar believed he could achieve greatness even though the odds were against him.
He cared about being the best, and he knew the citizens supported him. The senate
died and Emperors were born. Caesar used his charismatic skills to prove himself
historically significant. He was memorialized in a variety of different ways as a
A Brief Note On The Railroad, Trucking And Air Industry
Throughout the development of the United States and its economy, transportation
has been the catalyst as well as sometimes the prohibitor of growth from industry to
industry and region to region. As supply chains have become more globalized, so
has the need for a more efficient and accessible transportation infrastructure within
the country to allow greater access to newer markets overseas. By having such a
crucial role in U.S commerce over the years, there has been fluctuations in the
amount of regulation drawn up by the government and enforced by federal
agencies and the courts. In this case, the railroad, trucking and air industry s have
reflected the national trends of regulation and deregulation movements over the
last 15 years. Soon after the first transcontinental railroads were federally
subsidized and created in the 1860s, concerns arose over cases of predatory
practices being carried out by certain rail companies. This was made possible in
part by the monopolization taking place within the industry. Jay Gould, a wealthy
man at the time who was a leading developer and speculator of railroads, possessed
much control over rail activity. Such control created challenges for local economies
of particular cities like St. Louis. For example, in 1881, Gould controlled Eads
Bridge, the main bridge crossing the Mississippi River from Illinois into the city of
St. Louis. Gould charged high tariffs which caused rail companies to re reroute up
through Chicago, ultimately
Describe The Characteristics Of Baroque Music
Baroque music generally has certain elements in common across the board, including
but not limited to: basso continuo, ornamentation, decisive rhythms, melodiousness,
and use of several textures. Of course, different countries in Western Europe had
different styles and sub genres within this. Theorists and composers, such as Jean
Philippe Rameau with his treatise on harmony, began defining characteristics of
harmony by studying works of his contemporaries. Although the Baroque musicas a
whole sounds similar, it is important to keep in mind that it was not one unified style,
but rather it was separated and understood differently depending on region. Certain
style techniques can be attributed to different regions. For instance, while Italy was
known to have melodies that sounded similar to singing, France was focused on
bringing shape to their melodies. In contrast, German composers of this same time
actually did not limit themselves to particular National style choices, but rather
looked to and studied that of composers in other countries. Telemann was a German
composer who exemplified this German style through his works. Not only was he
important for the sake of combining and utilizing different techniques and creating
unique pieces to that of his contemporaries, but he also was the most prolific
composer of his time. This Trumpet Concerto displays a blend of these cosmopolitan
styles. Telemann borrowed the French idea of shaping melodies. In the third
movement, the
Description Of The Reference Voltage Vector
Referring to Fig. 1(ii), consider in region II, the reference voltage vector is
following the arc x1x2 at a particular modulation index m. The position of the
reference voltage vector is shown in Table 1. It shows that, depending on modulation
index value, the duration of stay within subsector 1 and subsector 2 changes.
Similarly, consider in region III, the reference voltage vector is following the arc

shown in Table 1 and it shows that depending on the modulation index value, the
duration of stay within subsector 2,3 and 4 changes.

How To Read The Book This Lullaby
ВЁThis LullabyВЁ By Sarah Dessen is a good book, but not one of the best IВґve
read. I would rate it 3.5 out of 5, it is slow and not a lot of big or crazy things happen
in the book that would knock you out of your seat, you have to keep reading to
find out what going to happen next. I would recommend this book for teenagers
who like romance and real life problems of high school girls, I picked this book to
read because the plot looked interesting and I like to read drama and romance
books, they are my favorite. ВЁThis LullabyВЁ has a lot of real life problems that
could help you with your family, friends and relationships, It is about a girl named
Remy, who is eighteen years old. Remy s motheris now on her fifth marriage, because

Reasons Why Children And Teens Run Away From Home
The article and the documentary depicted numerous reasons why children and
teens ran away from home. It was apparent that some of the reasons were feasible
as to why children and teens would run away from home. In the text Thompson
and Pillai include ...Families that exhibit interfamily conflict, poor communication,
dysfunction, abuse and/or neglect. For some, leaving is not a choice as they are
forced out of their homes by parents either encouraging them to leave, abandoning
them or subjecting them to intolerable levels of mistreatment (142). There are
many different reasons that play a major role as to why children and teens run
away from home. In the documentary we see that one girl is adopted and doesn t
know her real parents and feels like as if the parents who adopted her did not care
for her. The boy in the documentary stated how his dad would kill him if he returned
home and he was selling pot. The parents in the documentary seemed as if they didn t
have much say with what the children and teens did. We saw how the young girl
smoked as the parentstated she has grown up quite a bit since she has been on the
streetsshe is 14 going on 21 . The parents seem scared of the future pertaining to their
children but I did not see much action as if they were attempting to change their
children. Their viewpoint seemed to be more lenient they allowed there children do
things that most parents would not permit their children to do. The viewpoint of the
parent was not
Dury Family History
Drury is English. This family descended from John De Drury, the son of a Norman
French nobleman, who fought his way to power in England along with William
the conqueror in 1066. The Drury s held large estates in Suffolk, England for
centuries. Their coat of arms from the 1200 s has a Tau cross between two gold stars
on a green band across the top of a silver shield. The familyin later years moved over
to the United States to get a better life and like people would say restart in the new
life of America. Drury descendants lived in Massachusetts as early as 1651. I
researched our history only as far back as my great grandfather who is James
Amos Drury, born in the year of 1827 or near that time. There are pieces from the
family history that are missing or we could just not figure out but I tried my best
to find all the information I could. James died December 9, 1862 and is buried at
National Cemetery, Plot 4 1862, Grave #6100, Section B, Nashville, Tennessee. He
enlisted January, 1862 in the Civil War from his home state of Indiana where he
resided with his family near Pendleton. He was stricken with chronic diarrhea and
died at Hospital number 12 at Nashville, Tennessee. On July 27, 1848 he was united

How Did Shakespeare Influence The American Theatre
There are lots of important things that were created in the Renaissance. Drama
was one of the most impressive inventions that they improved. One of the theaters
that they had was the Globe Theater. Even though the Globe Theater was destined
for failure, it became successful due to Shakespeare and the support of the Royal
Monarch. Before understanding Shakespeare and his impact on the Globe you
have to know a little bit of information on plays and prediction in the Renaissance
time period. The plays before Shakespeare connected more to a religious point of
view and the morals were more simple(Currie,109). Playwrights were based off of
morals for the writing in the books, just like how to day we have movies based off
books. The only difference is that the plays were played of of religious books. An
example of one of their most common morals Stephen Currie writes in a book, One
person is example for everyone . There was two theaters and 160,000... Show more

Baby Shakespeare was born in Stratford upon Avon(Brandenberg,12). During his
years in school, he studied Latin, Greek, and any other subject that would help him
in his writing(Brandenberg,12). Even from a young age, Shakespeare knew that
someday he would have some sort of career in writing, and without the background
he wouldn t have be able to help the Globe the popular place we know. When
shakespeare was age 18, he married Anne Hathaway(Brandenberg,13). Anne
supported shakespeare carrier and what he loved to do. They had been married for
around 2 years when Shakespeare started acting(Frey,342). When he started, he

Summary Of Pax By Sara Pennypacker
Strength is made by perseverance through hard times. All of us will run into a
difficult period in our lives but it will not last forever. During this time we all have
to find ourselves in order to undergo the challenge that appeared in our life. In the
story Pax, a twelve year old boy named Peter must face many obstacles in front of
him. He must be strong through the hard time and figure out how to perceiver and
prevail. Throughout Pax, Sara Pennypacker did a wonderful job of creating a
beautifully crafting story with great examples of hardship. The Book starts out
with Peter by the woods. His father is forcing him to return Pax into the wild. This
chapter is in Pax s perspective which is very memorable because the author
describes Pax being confused that Peter his boy is crying even though he is not
heart physically. Since Pax has lived with Peter every since he was a small kitt
because Peter rescued him, Pat has not experence in the wild. At this point... Show

Peter s dad took him to his grandfather s house for a place to stay while he is at war.
Being with his grandfather reminds Peter of the anger he sees in his father and
also himself. This is something very troublesome because, at a young age Peter
lost his mother. On that day, Peter became angered by her and broke her glass
globe. Peter s mother betrayed him from going to the store with her because of
this. It ended up being the day Peter s mother died in the car crash, which makes
Peter blame himself for the accident. When this quickly becomes unbearable for
Peter, he leaves on an adventure to find his best friend. Peter s grandfather s house
is very far from where they left Pax so the trip is grueling and exhausting. Take
note that Peter is going to walk on this journey, but it really show what he will do
for his friend. This part of the story is very obvious that Peter is struggling but he is
also persevering because he keeps
Ugly The New Sexy, By Tanya Gonzalez
Although Betty and some other characters in the show are regarded as ugly by
stereotypically beautiful women, they seldom question the beauty standards and
often choose to accept the situation, which shows their internalized sexism. In the
first three seasons Betty remains the same body figure and clothing style, which is
considered ugly by her colleagues. Though being optimistic and confident about her
life, she admits her ugliness. Betty s childhood memories are mostly negative because
her classmates laughed at her appearance and made fun of her ugliness. Suffering
from negative reactions from her peers, Betty accepts the mainstream beauty
standards, admits that she is ugly, and frequently relates failure and her tragic past

Although Betty does attempt to challenge beauty stereotypes a few times in the
show, the results are often unsatisfying and insignificant because of women s
internalized and externalized sexism. In the episode Zero Worship , Betty suggests
Daniel to use more healthy models that are not overly skinny. Daniel accepts the
suggestion and invites women from all ages, body shapes and sizes to be models for
the fashion show. Although this seems like an attempt to challenge the one
dimensional beauty standard, the result is not significant at all. Betty only receives
support from her boss Daniel, her family, and her nephew s friend, Taylor. Moreover,
Taylor does not express her applause in public. Instead, she sneaks out and talks to
Betty secretly because she is afraid of letting her friends, who believe in mainstream
beauty standards, know her thoughts. This scene implies the difficulties women face
when challenging and refusing to accept externalized sexism, and insisting on their
own belief of beauty.
Internalized and externalized sexism trigger women s beauty obsession and the
show portrays the negative influence of beauty obsession. The food provided in
Mode s cafeteria and offices are usually sandwiches and salad. The workers seldom
eat snacks, and they do not eat cheese or meat. Because of their beauty obsession,
they cannot have a normal diet. In Debra Franko s article Considering J.Lo and Ugly

Cultural Heritage Of The French Tourism
Tourism in France is an important activity, both for the French who choose to spend
their holidays, and foreigners who come to stay. Thus, since 1990, France became the
first tourist destination in the world. The tourist attraction of France is due to the
large number and wide variety of points of interest, diversity of landscapes, the rich
cultural and artistic heritage, the temperate climate and ease of access and transport
infrastructure, but also the important equipment in the country and varied reception
facilities (hotels, amusement parks...). Thus, each department is a French tourist
department with several points of interest. France has a rich well known cultural
heritage, favored by many sites listed as World Heritage of UNESCO. The French
tourismhas many different facets and positive economic impacts and France makes
every effort to maintain the liveliness of this important asset. The history of tourism
in France began around 1760 in the south of France in Hyeres, becoming a common
winter resort renowned among UK thanks to its relatively mild Mediterranean
climate. In 1910 Alexandre Millerand, the French Minister of Public Works at the
time, created the first tourism office, with the desire to promote those places that
must be contemplated and visited by many. The intellectual vision that covers his
entourage will then change since we will be more aware of our surroundings. We
decide consciously to build tourism in these places. However, the trip is
Free Market Economies In The 1910 s And 1920s
Periods of History that Shaped Modern America: Free Market Economies in the
1910 s and 1920 s. An economy develops over a long period of time. It is also
shaped by the previous events and developments which inform the locals, policy
makers and the governance of a given community regarding economic struggles that
need to be addressed. Economic policy and market system processes are continuous
and they borrow a lot from historical events where nations aim for formulation and
adoption of favorable economic systems. In this light, the American free market
economy made major developments between 1910 and 1920 which have had a great
impact on the modern day America. Earlier, from the early 1900s towards 1910 the
American economy was characterized... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this symposium, the shortage of public markets in America as compared to Europe
was challenged. It was argued that increasing public markets would increase the
freedom of city dwellers to buy agricultural products from the businesses of their
choice (Medvetz, 2014). As well, it was noted that this would increase the level of
competition among the business people thus leading to availability of the products to
the people. Circumstantially, the federal government was charged with the duty of
redesigning the cities and increasing the number public markets. Essentially, this
development was anticipated to make the market more free to access both by the
consumers and the producers of Agricultural products. In the event, municipal leaders
believed that by simplifying the complex process through which the products were
moving from the producer to the consumers, the marketing of the products would
have been made more effective and free for the benefit of all the Americans.
Secondly, involving the municipal leaders in the process of increasing the public
markets broke the traditional strategy whereby the federal government had all the
powers to control the market sites and the events that were carried out there. In the
new organization, it was
The American Dream
Dan Rather, a journalist and news anchor for the CBS Evening News states that [a]
college degree is the key to realizing the American dream, well worth the financial
sacrifice because it is supposed to open the door to a world of opportunity. There are
many different paths to the American Dream. Two paths that people can use to reach
the American dream are to go straight to a universityafter high school or transferring
to a university after two years at a community college. The main differences in going
to a university and transferring to a university from a community college to reach the
American dream are campus life, cost, and graduation/transfer rates. At a university

Even though there are many different extracurricular activities not many people get
involved. There are many different reasons as to why people at a community
college do not go the extra mile to get involved. Pannoni shares that one reason
students do not get involved because many students work and don t have much time
to be involved in anything other than getting a degree or taking classes... [and]
many students who weren t on campus when events were happening didn t want to
make a special trip just to attend. (Pannoni 5). The main reason students did not
want to make a trip to campus to attend an event is because a lot of students who
attend a community college commute. The difference in experience reflects on the
cost of universities and colleges. The costs vary drastically between universities and
community colleges. It is no secret that universities cost is way more expensive than
community colleges. In California, there are three different types of post secondary
schools. The three types of schools are public universities (CSUs and UCs) , private
universities, and community colleges. Each type of school has a different price. The
first type of public universities in California is the California State University system.

Into the Wild Reader Response Essay
Into the Wild Reader Response Into the Wild, written by Jon Krakauer, is a
memoir about how living in the wilderness and how Chris McCandless lived
nearly two years in the wild. Throughout the novel, Krakauer relates Chris
adventures to his own experience in mountain climbing and living on his own.
This is not your typical memoir where the author tells a story about their lives. Jon
Krakauer is not the main character; however he tells a story of this boy who leaves
his well developed family for no apparent reason. But not only does he tell Chris
story, he tells his own by fusing them altogether. The story starts out and it is telling
about all these people and how they relate to Chris McCandless, but it is extremely

This book is what I needed to become more knowledgeable of the circumstances
and the things that could happen. As soon as I picked this book up, I could not put
it down. Every chance I got, I was reading. I was begging in class for you to let us
have down time so I could submerge myself into this virtual reality that I wanted to
experience. Unfortunately at the end of this memoir, Chris McCandless dies of
what Krakauer believes to be starvation. The cool thing about how Krakauer
revised this novel is how he relates it to all teenagers. At one point in time mostly
all teenagers have a fight with their parents and they feel as if running away from it
all is their only escape. He focuses on Chirs McCandless life so much to create the
theme that no matter how much you fight and argue, your parents love you and
they want the best for you no matter what. I will recommend this book to everyone
because it has elements that I feel most books do not have. It was enjoyable to read
because I have had many problems with my father and this book helped me come
to a revelation. This book kept me going and all I wanted to do was curl up
underneath my covers and read this book. It was such an inspirational tool that
will never leave my heart and I will always cherish how it made me feel. I am really
excited to read his other book Into the Air. If it is anything like this book, I will love

Technology and Art in Fifteenth Century After centuries of wars and the nightmares
of the plague, the fifteenth century Europe finally started to close the book on the
Middle Ages. The new era brought with it new and exciting changes in society, art,
and technology, thanks in part to a newly emerged class of wealthy merchants and
bankers who also possessed a keen interest in arts, literature, and education.
Historically, only the church and the heads of state were able to sponsor those areas.

Chang serves its workers well It is suggested by various text books and management tutors alike, that the mastering of the four functions of management; Planning, controlling, organising and leading along with developing technical, human and conceptual skills, should go some way to allowing a manager some degree of success in the field of management. Of course, having skills is just part of being an effective manager, these skills and functions must be communicated in a way that fellow managers and workers can understand and act upon. This position is illustrated in the 2010 financial report of P.F. Chang which stated that the company s aim was to strive to create a loyal customer base that generates a high level of repeat business in our restaurants and translates to interest and trial of our retail products [however] Our business is highly sensitive to changes in guest traffic and our operators concentrate on consistent execution of superior customer service while also focusing on additional opportunities for operating efficiencies (P.F. Chang, 2011). Some workers may struggle with the concept of exceptional customer service and a P.F. Chang manager must find ways to organise those workers to meet the companies expectations while upholding the companies values of openness and respect. The case study mentions that restaurant managers face the challenge every day of putting the right person in the right job, creating a team that works well together . At P.F. Chang, staff meet before every work shift where the manager is able to organise staff, reminding them of them of their duties for which ever role they may occupy. This meeting could also give the manager an insight into which member of the team may be feeling unmotivated and time could then be made to talk to the team member and discuss any issues. By delegating tasks from a manger to an employee it conveys a sense of trust

This means that the virus could spread before we even know that it has spread. One very easy way of launching a biological attack is through the use of our aviation transportation system. At airports such as the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, the Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida, the Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California, and the John F. (Vicinanzo, 2015) Prevention Strategy A one size fits all approach cannot be utilized when planning for any type incident involving a widespread disease and planning for a bioterrorist attack using smallpox is no exception. Each community is going to present its own unique, challenges, resources and needs. All of these characteristics must be considered when planning for an efficient and effective response to a bio attack involving smallpox. (www.cdc.gov) The public health departments that are at the local and state level should work with hospitals, clinics, public and private organizations, along with the local community leaders and create a smallpox emergency response plan that involves the community s participation that is integrated with state and federal plans. Emergency response planning to terrorism in the past was about bombings and chemical attacks. But those require a more sophisticated delivery system, and terrorist groups are looking for a quieter strategy. Attacks involving biological agents are more covert and unless we discover the plot and alert the population early,

Instead, he chose to stay behind so that he could be close to his parents. That choice, ultimately led him to extreme experiences within several Nazi concentration camps, including the infamous Auschwitz. Watching those around him suffer the same fate, the same hardships and the same pain, he noticed that they all reacted differently. Those who had found a meaning or will to live did so, but others who had lost everything dear to them often just gave up and died. Frankl realized that (and he often quotes Nietzsche), He who has a why to live can bear with almost any how . Frankl s Early Life and Parental Attachment Viktor Frankl was born on March 26, 1905 in Vienna, the same day Beethoven died to Elsa and Gabriel Frankl. • 10. King Buchadnezzar 2 Research Paper King Nebuchadnezzar II (634 562 BCE) was the greatest king of ancient Babylon, succeeding his father, Nabopolassar. King Nabopolassar had defeated the Assyrians with the help of the Medes and liberated Babylonia from Assyrian rule. In this way he provided for his son (as Philip II would do for his son Alexander later) a stable base and ample wealth on which to build an opportunity for greatness which Nebuchadnezzar took full advantage of. Nebuchadnezzar IIdefeated the Egyptians and their allies the Assyrians at Carchemish, subdued Palestine and the region of Syria and, consolidating his power, controlled all the trade routes across Mesopotamia from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea. Remaining true to the vision of his inaugural address, the great king spent the tolls he collected and the taxes he gathered in creating a city which, he hoped, would be recognized as a wonder of the world (and, indeed, his hopes were realized in later writers adding the walls of Babylonand, in particular, the Ishtar gate to the list of the Seven Wonders of the World). In the forty three years of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar II made the most of the time employing a vast army of slave labor to surround his city with walls so thick that chariot races were conducted around the tops and which stretched fifty six miles in length, encircling an area of two hundred square miles.

Nowadays organisations recognise the importance of satisfying their customers needs and meeting their expectations as the more complex the customer demand, the more there is need for service. Although services are infused in every organisation s core, service failure still appears therefore, service recovery strategies are essential in order for the organisations to overcome the situation. This research intends to study the relation between customer service and organisation. 1.1 Service Nature Service is an activity which normally takes place by interacting between the service employees and the customer although a clear definition on services has always been immense to describe. An easy way to understand services is by imagining service personnel as the actors in a play and the customers as the audients (Lovelock, Vandermerwe, Lewis, 1999). There are two ways in which services can be defined, such as service being an act of performance and as economic activities providing consumers with benefits under specific circumstances. The importance of the service sector is obvious as 67% of employees are directly employed in service jobs while more than half of those already employed in manufacturing companies perform service function jobs. (Irons, 1997) Services have four key characteristics such as intangibility, inseparability, variability/heterogeneity and perishability. This key characteristics of services are used to describe the effect and

Chaucer uses symmetry to creatively conclude the driving conflict of the poem, Arcite and Palamon s conflicting mutual love for Emily. The conflict between the two lovers begins during their exile in Theseus prison after being defeated in battle. Palamon is upset by his cousin s admiration of Emily when he expressed his love interest first; he exclaims, Yet you would treacherously go about / To love my lady, whom I love and serve / And ever shall, till death cut my heart s nerve (34). He expresses his deep love for Emily and anger that his own cousin does not support him, but loves the same lady. The conflict over their love of Emily forms a deep rift between the two men for the length of the poem. The rift is mended at Arcite s request to Emily after he is fatally injured in celebration of his victory in the tournament: Who serves you and will serve you all his life. / And should you ever choose to be a wife, / Forget not Palamon, that great hearted man (78). Chaucer uses symmetry to bring about an end to the violent tournament devised by Theseus, so that he could determine who would marry Emily. Theseus orders Palamon and Arcite to each gather an army so that they could fight to the death to win Emily: To Emily. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome in order to incorporate meditation into our daily lives. Although inarguably United States promotes liberal democracy, how it goes about doing so currently, could not be necessarily categorized as a liberal approach. During the Cold WarUnited Stateshad a more liberal approach towards promotion of democracy. Yet this approach has since changed as it did not emphasize enough the importance of other states materialistic needs and its impact on their international behavior, thus leading United States to adopt a more constructivist perspective toward its foreign policy. Realism regards states as rational, solitary units in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to constructivism The world of international relations is not just the world of material capabilities and materialistic opportunities it is also a social world . Constructivists believe that actor states are occupied with both normative and material factors. They do not deny that the material world shapes their structure, but they believe that through reflections and discourse, actor states are malleable and influenced by each other. Constructivism thus deals with the process through which principled ideals become social norms. In being so, constructivism becomes a critical component for the international recognition of a state. This becomes crucial for actors, as the internationalization of social norms will ensure compliance over external pressure. Thus, democracy promotion can be subsumed under the socialization and internalization by actors. The persistence of democratic international institutions after the cold war as well as the mass identification of states as democracies and the absence of a strong alternative political ideology have contributed to a process of socialization promoting democratic cooperation. Therefore, after the Cold

This gas merges with the hemoglobin in a person s blood, which then weakens the flow of oxygen in the body (hybridcars.com, Pollutants). The Sources Of Injustice Explained By Simone De Beauvoir WoMEN (An Analysis of the Sources of Injustice Explained by Simone de Beauvoir in Second Sex) The idea of feminism and women s rights have been under attack for years. Women themselves have been under attack for their entire lives. Women always have to be doing things correctly or men attack their very being. Men have expected women to be submissive to them from the beginning of time, as life has always been a patriarchy. Feminism has always been buried under the dirt but in the last 50 100 years, it has been exhumed from the grave. In this time women have been fighting for rights, especially through literature. As Amanda J. Davis explains in her essay about feminism, Authors deconstruct such concepts as home, safety, and shelter in their respective texts and reposition them in the context of social injustices born out of the volatile intersection of race, class, and gender oppression. (Davis) There have been many women authors who have helped define feminism, one of the most famous being Simone de Beauvoir. Beauvoir taught herself philosophy and then began her own teaching career and authorship. Her novel Second Sex quickly became a beacon of the feminist movement in the 1950 s. She writes about the causes and effects of the oppression shown to women all around the world, especially in the United States. Simone de Beauvoir shows in The Second Sex that there are many sources of injustice toward women including biological, social and economic, and legal. As Beauvoir

The characters in White Noise are victims of Zombie Consumerism. One of the main themes around which the novel is structured is death. The characters in this novel realize that they are surrounded by death and that there is no escape. Even though they are aware that the death is brought to them upon the products they buy and it causes them to suffer both physically and mentally, they are ignoring the fact and they turn to the illusive comfort that consumerism provides. The characters turn to consumerism as a way of escaping death. The products they buy create some kind of comfort and seem as a solution of many problems. They become desperate because they believe that buying unnecessary products continuously will help them with their hopeless situation. Good example for this situation is the drug Dylar. The sites had many characteristics but the three that my group choose to focus on was the location had direct sun light that happened to be shining from the right side. The wind was blowing at CELS but it felt like it had a tunnel breeze. The last thing that we said was it had a very diverse landscape. We also gave characteristics for the three sub locations that we observed. For number one we looked at the grass and it was yellow with wet soil. Number two was the mulch and it was black, brown, and dry. Number three was the rocks and they were large, smooth, and greyish. The characteristics of the three sub locations affected out data in many different ways. For my three locations the surface temperature was greater than the air temperature. I would expect that because the surface is absorbing
  • 38. Clinical Presentation, Treatment Options, And The... The general public and even some medical professionals lacks in depth information on Necrotizing Fasciitis. Most Americans have not heard of it or do not have enough information about it to know what to do. It is commonly misdiagnosed and is often fatal because it is not caught in time. I will discuss what it is, what causes it, describe clinical presentation, treatment options, and the prognosis of this disease. In hopes that more people can be made aware of this deadly disease. Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) has been called the flesh eating bacteria by the media. This past summer there were a few cases of this on Galveston beaches. Most likely it was caused by the strain Dr. Edlich talks about in his paper Necrotizing Fasciitis: Background, Pathophysiology, Etiology. He describes it as a variant necrotizing Type I, or poly microbial strain known as Type I Saltwater Necrotizing Fasciitis, in which a minor skin wound is infected with saltwater containing a Vibrio species. The National Necrotizing Fasciitis Foundation (NNFF) states that in actuality it is the decaying infection of the fascia and not a flesh eating bacteria. It does not just affect the fascia, the outer connective tissue bands covering the muscles, and other soft tissues, but it also can destroy the surrounding soft tissues such as skin, fat, blood vessels and nerves. NF is not easily diagnosed and it spreads quickly usually using the fascia as an expressway. It is still a relatively rare disease

Because of all these factors, his image of greatness is memorialized in Rome for all eternity. Unfortunately, not everyone respected the greatness of this man. The senate fell because Roman citizens were unhappy with a few rich leaders ignoring the needs of many poor citizens. The masses supported the idea of a leader who would take care of everyone. This event was a catalyse for Rome becoming an Empire. Greedy and selfish, the senators resented losing their power. Caesar was killed by men who were hoping to bring back the republic. • 42. A Brief Note On The Railroad, Trucking And Air Industry Throughout the development of the United States and its economy, transportation has been the catalyst as well as sometimes the prohibitor of growth from industry to industry and region to region. As supply chains have become more globalized, so has the need for a more efficient and accessible transportation infrastructure within the country to allow greater access to newer markets overseas. By having such a crucial role in U.S commerce over the years, there has been fluctuations in the amount of regulation drawn up by the government and enforced by federal agencies and the courts. In this case, the railroad, trucking and air industry s have reflected the national trends of regulation and deregulation movements over the last 15 years. Soon after the first transcontinental railroads were federally subsidized and created in the 1860s, concerns arose over cases of predatory practices being carried out by certain rail companies. This was made possible in part by the monopolization taking place within the industry. Jay Gould, a wealthy man at the time who was a leading developer and speculator of railroads, possessed much control over rail activity. Such control created challenges for local economies of particular cities like St. Louis. For example, in 1881, Gould controlled Eads Bridge, the main bridge crossing the Mississippi River from Illinois into the city of St. Louis. Gould charged high tariffs which caused rail companies to re reroute up through Chicago, ultimately

Describe The Characteristics Of Baroque Music Baroque music generally has certain elements in common across the board, including but not limited to: basso continuo, ornamentation, decisive rhythms, melodiousness, and use of several textures. Of course, different countries in Western Europe had different styles and sub genres within this. Theorists and composers, such as Jean Philippe Rameau with his treatise on harmony, began defining characteristics of harmony by studying works of his contemporaries. Although the Baroque musicas a whole sounds similar, it is important to keep in mind that it was not one unified style, but rather it was separated and understood differently depending on region. Certain style techniques can be attributed to different regions. For instance, while Italy was known to have melodies that sounded similar to singing, France was focused on bringing shape to their melodies. In contrast, German composers of this same time actually did not limit themselves to particular National style choices, but rather looked to and studied that of composers in other countries. Telemann was a German composer who exemplified this German style through his works. Not only was he important for the sake of combining and utilizing different techniques and creating unique pieces to that of his contemporaries, but he also was the most prolific composer of his time. This Trumpet Concerto displays a blend of these cosmopolitan styles. Telemann borrowed the French idea of shaping melodies. In the third movement, the
