limitations. Person centered theory was developed by Carl Rogers. It is one of the

In literature, the theme of a story is very important because it allows the reader to
be able to connect all parts of the story together and even apply what was learned
from it to their real life. Theme is the unifying generalization about life stated or
implied in the story by either the author or by one of the characters. In Nadine
Gordimers short story, Once Upon a Time we read about a woman who is
frightened by a sound in her house which causes her imagination to spiral into fear.
This immense amount of fear leads to her thinking about the worst possible things
than can happen to her at that moment. Not only does it cause this, but it also
makes her start telling herself a bedtime story. The theme of this short story is that
fear can cause overreaction and makes things seem a lot more worse than they
actually are. It shows us how sometimes fear can be our own self destruction. To
begin with, the theme of the story can first be seen when the woman is still in
deep conflict with the sound she hears in the shadows that surround her in her

I was in the bathroom getting ready for the first day of the third trimester of 8th
grade, I was comfortably singing in my bathroom thinking I was alone. After
getting ready I opened up the door and look in the hallway flustered to see my

the ambiguous situation is more accurate than their own. Hence, a lack of response
by others leads them to conclude that the situation is not an emergency and that

The second concert I attended was the Shepherd school of music collegium concert
at Rice University. The program featured music from the renaissance and was a little
bit different then the orchestra concert I attended. For one there were fewer
musicians. It had a more intimate setting, not a big theater but rather a small
